I reserved a nonsmoking room from Expedia in Hastings NE for 8/29/15 days in advance. When I got there the man (Indian) at the desk said I selected a smoking room by mistake. At first I believed him. The room stunk like a cancer ward. I checked my receipt from Expedia I saved as a PDF on my laptop and it clearly showed I selected a non-smoking room. He then said I needed to call Expedia which I did and am waiting for their call back. Seems fishy to me especially since the clerk says the hotel is booked fully. I wonder if they overbook the nonsmoking and throw anyone extra into a smoking room. Bait and switch. I have never had this happen with Expedia before.

We had a reservation at the Gainesville, FL Super 8 hotel months in advance for the races. When we arrived at the hotel at approximately 9 pm we waited in a long line to check in. When we got to the front of the line we were told they gave our room away to a walk in customer who was in line in front of us. We tried to reason with the clerk to give us the room because we had driven several hours and all hotel rooms that weekend are always booked so we knew we would not find another room. Instead of giving us the room we had reserved well in advance they called the police on us. We obviously left the hotel. Luckily the Hampton across the street had a cancellation. They were very accommodating and the premises are much nicer.

This was by far my worst hotel experience ever. We were kicked out of the pool early, it seemed as though every employee smoked and the stairs right outside of our non-smoking room was the smoking area. The manager was absolutely rude. It was dirty, at 11:30 at night we were forced to move our car from directly in front of our room because our handicap sticker wasn't in the window even though I was barely able to walk due to a major back surgery and there were several open spots. I could go on but won't. Never stay there!!

Upon check in we were fortunate to rent the last pet friendly room they had. The lady at the front desk was very friendly however being totally run ragged. She had me wait while she tried to get a man's toilet from being plugged, then ended up changing rooms for him and I still waited while she got him his new key ready and delivered it to him. Finally was able to get checked in. Went to the room with our stuff and left to find a place to eat. She wasn't very helpful to give suggestions on eating places. Came back and getting ready to go to bed when we discovered we had a dirty glass under the sink, no soap, no shampoo, nothing. The sink could barely drain water.

The next morning we were planning to shower my husband first then me. The tub would not drain the water at all so I had to stand in water almost up to my knees before I was done. We also had no bath mat on which to stand when out of the shower. Planned to inform the desk clerk upon check out but he didn't even have the courtesy to ask how our stay was. Will not be going back there again.

I called the Macomb, IL Super 8 Motel on August 13th to make my reservation for August 21st. I was quoted $38.00 + tax and given my confirmation number. This was the same price we paid in June at the same hotel. While checking in she started a conversation about my stay, why we were there, etc.. It seemed friendly enough. I was told my total was $80.00 + tax. My total came to $88.80. I told the female clerk that is incorrect. I was told my total was $38.00 + tax on the phone when I made the reservation. She said they don't have that set price. I explained I was just here in June and paid the $38.00 + tax which my total was $46.80. She called me a liar. I was upset that she jacked up my price once she found out it was move in weekend for the college.

We got to our room & it smelled musky/moldy. In the middle of the night/early morning the toilet broke. We couldn't flush it. We had to fill the garbage can at the tub and pour it in toilet to get it to flush every time we had to use the bathroom. I told this to the male clerk when I checked out and said I must have broke it. I said I don't think I could have broke it when the problem is the tank doesn't fill up with water. What could I have done to break it? He wrote a little note at the desk and told me that was it I could leave. I asked for a copy of my check out receipt, he said I should have received one at check in. I told him that I did not receive a receipt. He printed me out a receipt and walked away. I tried to get his attention to let him know the information was incorrect. There was only 2 people that stayed in the room not 3. It ignored me. I want to be refunded for the difference and a discount for the broken toilet.

I stayed at the Super 8 at Belleville rd in Michigan. The room smelled like mold and mildew and it was so easily in the morning and after traveling all night I didn't try to change rooms, so I burned incense. And upon check out I forgot to get my deposit back and now they are telling me that I smoked in the room. I think they do this to all their customers. That's 50$ dollars. And someone came in my room when I went to the store and left a iPhone on my bed that I found when I returned. I called and complaint and I was told someone would get back with me. So far no call back. I wonder how many people has this happened to.

We stayed at motel 8 7474 Gaetz Ave Red Deer Alberta Canada on the dates of June 29, 30 and 31. When we arrived the room was not cleaned to the standard I feel is appropriate but we arrived late and we're tired so we accepted it and went to bed. The next morning the tub had a very large rust stain and looked dirty so cleaned it with a face cloth was still so disgusting I stood on a towel for my shower as did my mother. We left the room with our things gathered and as we were leaving we saw the housekeeping person in the hallway and requested an adequate number of facecloths and towels for the two of us and he quickly got them for us. He then asked if we wanted anything else soap etc. We thanked him and said, "No we brought our own." We left for the day and returned at 11 Pm.

We walked into the room and were disgusted to find the room totally untouched so we promptly went to the front desk and complained. The clerk said wait a couple of minutes and we will take care of it so we waited 5 mins. He came to us and said, "Your room is ready," so we observed the young man. He called and was obviously upset by his body language as he was loud and waving his arms above his head speaking Pakistan. I think he was complaining that we complained and he didn't want to do it. We returned to the room and it was sheets pulled up, not well done just quickly, no cleaning just the wet towels removed. We went to bed upset and I told my mother, "The room better look amazing tomorrow."

So there was lint on the floor from before arrived and I laid a couple of traps to see their accuracy. Threw a tissue by the waste basket pulled of a corner of the sheet and covered with the blanket. We left for the day arrived back late at 1130 Pm and walked in and again nothing was touched not even the hallway was cleaned since we got there. We were very upset and my mother went to talk to the clerk again, I stayed and took pictures. He did not want to come to look at the room but my mother insisted until he complied. He said so. We explained our grievance he did not care. I stated, "We are leaving right now and you had better not charge us for the night." He said he could give us 20 dollars off the bill. I said, "We are leaving," and he said, "That's your choice." We packed and left immediately. He said nothing to us. This experience ruined our trip to Canada.

My wife and I stayed at Super 8 Hotel in Camp Verde Arizona. We got to our room and it was serviced, but had a dirty smell to the room, we were so tired traveling all day we just slept and didn't worry about it. When we woke up, my wife told me that she was itching really bad and I noticed that she had bumps all over her back and legs. I also noticed that she had swelling on her face. We went to the front desk and showed the lady my wife's face and back. The front desk lady told us that "you guys need to show me proof that there is bed bugs" in a very rude matter.

My wife left to go outside extremely upset. I told the front desk lady that it was very rude of her to make my wife upset like this. She told me in a rude matter that she inspected the room, handed my $20.00 deposit and left to the other side of the hotel without an apology. I was extremely furious that this happened to us. This was an anniversary trip that ended extremely horrible because Super 8 does not care about the guests or the hotel that they work for.

I made 4 room reservations for this hotel at 2850 S. Circle Drive in Colorado Springs, CO on October 24, 2014 to be used on August 1, 2015 and also on the return back on August 7, 2015. We had 4 couples traveling with motorcycles, car, trailer and truck heading to Sturgis, SD. We arrived at the hotel around 6pm after driving 13 hours. When we checked in and went to our rooms, I was appalled at what I saw. First of all, it was located in a bad part of town and a Correction Facility across the street. Windows were broken and a box fan in a window. Parking lot was horrible. Prostitutes in the lobby. We went to our room and the smell was horrendous. Would not set foot in these rooms. I was so embarrassed in front of my friends since I made these reservations myself through Hotel-Rates.com.

This hotel needs to be taken off the website for selling. Your advertisement of the images on the website is very deceiving. We all would have been afraid for our lives if we had stayed there. There was very loud music playing next to one of our rooms. We went back to the front desk and told them we could not stay here and was very surprised that they did not seem to care... Unless this happens all the time at this location and they are used to it. We told other bikers that drove in to not stay there. Has this hotel ever been inspected???

We sat in the parking lot for almost an hour trying to find another place to stay. No luck. Drove all the way to Denver and found 2 rooms so we had to double up and pay additional $140 for each room. I expect and will be getting a refund from the expenses we have incurred. TAKE THIS HOTEL OFF THE WEBSITE PLEASE.

I made reservations in advance at the Super 8 hotel in San Bernardino Ca off of Hospitality rd. due to my spouse having major brain surgery at Loma Linda hospital in June 30, 2015. We made reservations for June 29 to June 30, 2015 not knowing how long she will be in the hospital. We went down for coffee and there was none. The person in a room beneath us was smoking marijuana and when we turned our air on we can smell it. My spouse got released a on Aug 2 and I told the office that we might leave early and wanted a refund for the night we did not spend there. We turned in the key at 11:00 am on check out time and was told I would not get the refund for the night we did not use the room.

I think this is unfair. We should get the money back we did not use for that night. We did not know when we would be leaving because in surgery you don't know. Our family was already stressed and worried about our loved one and when we told the office the reason for our stay they were heartless. Please all I'm asking is a refund for that one night we didn't stay there. I'm a harding working person and that extra money would help us. Thank you.

This is almost a continuation of the story I told about Kayak. This is where I was booked, and to their credit, it's not entirely their fault that Kayak, didn't notify them about my reservation. But the way they handled the situation, regardless of being in Las Vegas, treating people like this is unacceptable. So I arrive to the hotel, and I inquire about my room, and they are quick to tell me I don't have a room with them, and I'm forced to bounce between talking to the hotel's manager and Kayak.

The manager, regardless of my situation in being stranded in a strange city, didn't offer any help, not even a suggestion as to where I may be able to find a room, getting so unruly as to call the security guard, and scamper off as if his office chair was truly "something more important to do." Overall if I could give them zero stars, I would. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, as who the ** wants to go through a hassle like this right after getting off a plane? No one in their right mind.

We didn't mind paying the extra $20 a day plus the $50 deposit which we were going to get back at the end if they would have taken and come and clean the room everyday but they didn't. Then we went to check out they blamed it on us. Each and every morning we would go down for breakfast. Most time there are the waffles and milk. Got tired of asking day after day. I will make sure I put a bad review on my Facebook And I'm on and on my Twitter account unfriendly people. This was a time of mourning. My husband and I rented a motel room at the Super 8 in Mobile Alabama which all the other motels were booked due to some fish rodeo that's so popular there that we care nothing about. The rooms were overpriced because of this event in town. The room was not supplied not even two light bulbs. My husband walked down those stairs three times that night, back and forth on our honeymoon to get light bulbs to put in all the lights himself. The air conditioner froze up the front of it and fell off in the floor.

The shower room shelf has fallen off in the floor and the breakfast was a joke. There was some juices, some styrofoam looking waffles and a pack to put in the microwave and some fruits and some individual to-go bowls of cereal. I've never seen such poor quality to be charged so much. The manager told that we would have our money refunded in 7 to 14 days. It has been a week already and no one has called to follow up on this situation. They provided Roach motel service with the Hilton price.

Did not get wake-up call so we got up late. Wanted a shower to help wake up. Ring around tub, & floor of tub dirty. Some comet would have taken care of it. When we left I tried to talk with someone then, rang the bell no one came so I left key on counter. I called the manager after our event was over. He told me I was lucky to get a room. Indy was going for $150.00. I told him for the quality it wasn't worth $40.00 & I wasn't in Indy. The room was very clean except the tub.

The manager also told me they don't put the air on ahead. I told him if he knew all of Indy was full and people were coming down there he should have turned them on, so the customer was comfortable. We stay in a lot of Super 8's, & others, never was treated with less appreciation for patronage. Forgot to say his response to not getting a wake up call. He told me there was an alarm in the room, and I told him I don't wake up to them, I would like a call. Sorry to complain, but I really feel that room & service was not worth what I spent. I had reservations for 1 room with 5 adults. When we check in, we find out our poolside room was as far away from the pool as possible. The bedspread had multiple burn holes in it, and both blankets also had burn holes. For a nonsmoking room this was unacceptable. The bathroom had maybe ten sheets of toilet paper and only had 2 hand towels for 5 adults. No rollaway bed or cot for the 5th guest. When asked, management said it was my responsibility to figure out where that person would sleep. The coffee pot in room had an old and moldy coffee filter inside it.

The Super 8 at 1010 W Ocean view Ave in Norfolk Va. is a complete dive. I will never stay at another Super 8 and would rather sleep in my car before staying at another BAD hotel like this one again. No apology from management and lack of cooperation is typical for this Super 8. The room they stuck us with had marijuana smokers on both sides of us. We don't smoke it and shouldn't have to be subjected to it. I can't believe we spent $340.89 to be subjected to ignorance and drug use.

We stayed at the SeaTac Super 8. We paid to park our car in their lot for the duration of our cruise. We found the beds extremely uncomfortable yet accepted that as the norm. When we returned from our cruise we found our car had been stolen from their lot. The manager did fill out a form and called the police for us. THAT is the end of his help. He had no care or concern for the loss of our car while in their custody. There was no offer to help us get anywhere... to a rental car agency, airline, bus depot, nothing. We had five in our party and the luggage for a 10 day trip. We were treated as an unwelcome invasion of their lobby they wished would simply disappear. FINALLY after I made arrangements to rent a car they did allow their shuttle driver to take us to pick it up.

While 2 of us went for the car the other three were dealt with very rudely. The staff talked about us. They were shocked and thought we were rude because we were mad at our missing car. I have to ask who is rude in this situation? The victims or the custodians. YES when you park you sign to release the hotel from financial liability. Does that also release them from humane kindness and concern??? Their camera system has a blind spot. A tall tree blocked them from viewing our car and they failed to disclose this fact to us. He said they do not have problems like this. INSIDE JOB???

This was a first and last time experience. I went online to Kayak.com, looking for a hotel in Charlotte NC. Found a Super 8, great price, especially for a holiday weekend, and in such short notice. Was very excited! Was being the key word!!! After a long miserable drive that normally takes 9 hours, wound up being a 12 1/2 hour drive; only to arrive at the Hotel, and be told, there wasn't a reservation. I gave them my booking number and pin code, and even told them that they had already taken $52.90 out of my account on June 30th, which they denied. I showed him, deduction on my online bank statement. He proceeds to tell me, that Kayak, must have taken my funds. We went round and round about the deduction. I asked "do you have any rooms left?" being the holiday weekend, he said "yes, $80. 00 a night." Our quoted price was $105.80 for Friday and Saturday.

I told him the quoted price, eventually he miraculously found my reservation under Booking.com, and again I asked about the $52.90 taken out of my account. Again he said they didn't take the funds, take it up with Booking.com. And I say, the statement reads Super 8 Charlotte NC took the funds. Eventually we get our room for the quoted price, plus the money they already took out of my account. It's Super 8 North Lake 4930 Sunset rd. Do not, I repeat do not ever stay there. Went to our room 132, walked in, started to get settled in, went to turn on the very old tv, which is fine, but couldn't get it to work, so I picked up the phone. Guess what, it doesn't work. I walk back to the office, tell the manager, he comes to the room, figured out how to make the tv work, but doesn't fix the phone. Still haven't looked the room over at this point.

Once we got settled, I went to the restroom to check it out. There is a pubic hair on the floor, a hair in the tub, mold on the shower curtain. Went to put drinks in the fridge, the on/off switch was broken, and a dead bug laying on the bottom. Cigarette burns in the bedding, in a non-smoking room. Holes in the wall, stained sheets, and many more things wrong. We should have just left, but it being the holiday weekend, figured everything would be booked up, didn't complain to management, for fear they would take more money out of our account, or retaliate us somehow. I did contact Booking.com, and so far they have been helpful. They are trying to help me get my $52.90 back that Super 8 took. I also contacted the Health Department in Charlotte NC and reported the conditions.

Terrible hotel in Grove City PA - Encountered angry clerk immediately at login. They argued with me about my credit card demanding it for "incidentals." Upon checking room, found that heater/ac knobs were broken, unable to regulate temperature. The knob had been broken many times and maintenance placed tape on it to hold together. I took to front desk and was told there were no maintenance staff on duty, clerk requested we move to another room. Why didn't they just give us a knob from another room (I'll never know)?

I also found that the water in the toilet and shower were almost a dirt brown color, I didn't want to take a shower at for fear of sickness! The beds were very uncomfortable, pillows were worn out as if someone had let the air out of them. When checking out, I requested a receipt and was refused as I had booked online. I demanded a receipt as they had demanded my credit card on check in. I wanted a printed receipt that showed no "incidental" charges. Had to fight with clerk to get it. By this time I was getting sick of the nasty staff and sub par room and service.

When we checked in, the two ladies would not even attempt to get us on ground floor. I am disabled and took 20 plus minutes to get upstairs. The room had roaches which was ignored. We only had 2 towels for 4 people. The ladies got angry when we ask for more. The ice machine is broken, therefore you had to go to front desk which they got rude about and we had only been there once for ice. The beds are broken. The lights worked very poorly and plug ins was busted. The pool was needing cleaned badly. I honestly can not believe the condition of this motel. We stayed here trying to support our hometown but this needs much help.

I stayed at this hotel on June 26th, 2015. My friend and I were passing through and we had to make an emergency stop on Bolivar due to her being ill. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful and they were able to get us into a room quickly. However, upon returning home I discovered that I had been bitten by bed bugs. I have since been to a doctor to confirm this. I have over 50 bites on my body. I have been nowhere else but this hotel and home and we have had it confirmed by an exterminator that they are not in our home so this leads up to believe they had to come from the Super 8.

The manager has been very kind on the phone, but the manager and her supervisor have refused to give me a refund and claim that they do not have bed bugs. All I wanted was a refund to help reimburse me for my doctor's office copay and prescription medication to treat the bites, but because they have refused I feel I have no choice but to make sure others are aware of what happened to me after staying at this hotel. While we were there our experience was fine, but the bed bugs have unfortunately overpowered the good we experienced and I urge you to reconsider before staying at this hotel.

Wife talked with manager, all he said was "you should have called and have it replaced", but we were tired after a full day at King's island. So he said "I'll give you 10% off your next stay". My wife called to reserve a room for this weekend and the price went way up from last time. I understand it's a holiday weekend, then he said he could not reserve room unless we paid 40.00 extra. We have came here to stay overnight the last 3 years about 7 times, well not anymore. You have lost a customer, we won't be back. Liked the fact it was 5 mins from King's island.

The staff spoke poor English & communication was very difficult; when a complaint was made to the manager, he began yelling. Very poor reflection on the Super 8 hotel chain.

When I stayed at the Super 8 in Columbus, Nebraska, one night in July 2014, they gave me a smoking room even though my reservation clearly showed a non-smoking reservation. The linens were dirty, the a/c didn't work, and the manager's wife walked in on me during a shower. All in one stay. It was a nightmare. I have had similar experiences, though not this bad, at other Super 8 motels. The Super 8 corporation (and Wyndham Rewards) takes the side of the manager, not the customer. Wyndham Rewards told me that I had no right to complain. Some Super 8 motels are good, but how can you know? The only good ones are the ones in which local managers take it upon themselves to aspire to high quality.

My stay was from 5/22/15-5/25/15. We were welcomed to this Super 8 location by a very rude person working the desk. The lobby and hallways were very humid with no air conditioning. So if you like to sweat this place is for you. On many occasions the smell of either mold or mildew could be found in the room, and hallway. Besides the smell the room was clean. On our second night we returned to our room to find the maid had never been. We called down to the desk and were given a run around for about 45 minutes before the only employee they had on came to clean the room for us. We were told their housekeeping staffing consisted of one employee and 3 new hires who were training. The rest of our stay was event free.

A couple days after we returned home I checked my bank statement to find we were over charged for our room by $59.89. I called the location and was told the GM would look into it. 24 plus hours went by and nothing. When I finally got a hold of someone that could help he turned out to be very rude, and sarcastic. He told me I was charged extra because of soiled sheets - sheets that were too far gone to be cleaned. I was told I can try whatever I want, but he would show the policy we violated. So it turned out I was charged an extra $60 because my son's medical problem violated the Super 8 policy. Since the sheets had to be washed they were too far gone? Sheets Super 8 leaves on the bed guest after guest without changing. Seriously?!?!?!?

Immediately opening the door the room smelled stale, I would have complained to the front desk but I had received a call and was occupied for a half an hour, I laid down and pulled back the comforter and it looked like the bed had been slept in and just been remade. I was disturbed by the smoke smells that became more prevalent when I turned on the air that I gathered my things and went downstairs. I informed the Manager about my dissatisfaction and asked for her to go check the room. At this point I had been checked in for 50 minutes.

As she was walking to the elevator she said if it smells fresh... I assumed she was giving me a hard time like if the room smells fresh how dare I send her to waste her time, wrong! I booked a room thru Hotels.com for a Super 8 Hotel in Norcross, Ga. The experience with booking thru hotels.com was great so there is no complaint with them. The complaint is with Super 8. My family and I arrived at the hotel on a Saturday morning at approximately 4 or 5a. When we pulled up I should have known right then that this was probably not going to be a good thing. I had to pay, sign a receipt and retrieve the key to our room thru a night window with no welcome greeting or personal contact.

Once parked and while retrieving our items from the car, a stranger approached my 16 year old son and asked for $5 and then proceeded into one of the hotel rooms! The pool we passed was filthy - clearly not open to visitors but also not covered to show that. We saw women and men going in and out of the rooms dressed in what we would describe as almost no clothing for the women and "pimp" clothing on the men and this is all within 45 mins of us checking in and IMMEDIATELY checking out!!

The reason for choosing this particular hotel was the amenities it provided, pool, breakfast, cable TV. Convenience to downtown Atlanta, cleanliness of the rooms, etc. Only 2 out of those were true and that was the cable TV. The room was disgusting, filthy, dead bugs laying around, hair on the sheets, tub was filthy, mildewed, tiny (the door couldn't open fully because the toilet blocked it). There were numbers for "special services" written on the lamps. We stayed for 45 mins and went to front desk which was now open fully to check out and ask for refund only to be told we could only get a 1 day refund, although we only stayed for 45 mins, if that.

We have stayed at Super 8's before and could really never complain for a mediocre rating, BUT THIS ONE BY FAR IS THE WORST ONE EVER!!! So bad that my husband who had just driven for 10hrs would not sit on the bed just to take a small rest. Even the chairs in the room were soiled with some dried liquid. Super 8 corporate, you should be sending representatives around checking your franchises. This is an awful representation of your FRANCHISE!!!

I will never, never stay at a Super 8 again because I will never trust that I am getting what they advertise and I believe they do not check to make sure they are being well represented in all their locations. By the way, the breakfast that they actually provided for the guest, that we saw while checking out, apparently has no dress requirement because people were wearing no shoes, pajamas, children with no adults were walking in from all directions to get breakfast. Nevertheless, we checked out and booked at the Hilton for a day near the Atlanta airport paying $30 more and although it cut into our budget, it was worth the peace of mind.

My wife and I recently secured lodging along with our car club for three nights during the Laguna Seca races in 2015. We have a Handicapped sticker, but could not park in the designated disabled parking space due to a white Ford SUV parked there. So we parked next to the Handicapped marked space next to the Handicapped parking space. During the first night there at around 11:00 p.m., the owner/manager began banging on our room door and our room phone began ringing at the same time. Apparently, a late night lodging customer had just arrived and the owner/manager wanted us to move our car over in order for the late arrival to park their other car in the Handicapped blue stripped space next to their white Ford SUV.

We indicated to the manager that our car was parked next to the Handicapped parking space with the painted blue stripes, and that it was illegal to park a car in that area. No matter what we said, the owner/manager was very curt about owning the property and according to her, "she could let anyone park wherever she indicated no matter if they are Handicapped or not". We then indicated that the police could issue an expensive citation if they observed a car parked illegally within a Handicapped space in violation. Then the car owner got into the discussion about parking in a Handicapped location. I asked him if he had a Handicapped sticker and the response was "No, he did not".

We indicated that we have a Handicapped sticker, but could not park in the Handicapped mark space because his SUV was already illegally parked there. Then the owner/manager yelled at us to "go to bed and not worry about the situation". We did and the next morning upon checking out, discovered the second car was not parked on the blue stripes at the Handicapped parking spot, but in the driveway in front of the motel office. Upon checking out, we told the owner/manager that we did not appreciate being awakened late at night to move our parked car to accommodate a late arriving customer. Then the owner/manager stated "we were lucky she did not call the Police on us last night". Not a very nice person!

I would strongly discourage anyone considering selection of this Super 8 Motel. The owner/manager is very ill informed about Handicapped parking restrictions, extremely rude to customers and basically incapable of any logical reasoning. I also plan to complain about this owner/manager individual to the Super 8 Motel Corporate.

I booked 3 rooms for April 3rd and requested the fourth floor. Ended up on second floor and this time no "thank you note" or bag of candy thanking us for our return. The morning breakfast was missing glass mugs, drinking cups for juice and plates, due to the business. There was only one staff member working on Easter weekend, dishes, and food supply were running short, and she was unable to keep up with the task and I am not blaming her.

On check out the young man behind the counter was on the phone which is understandable so he wasn't able to say "thank you" or "hope your stay was enjoyable," however, there was a house keeping staff member behind the counter who took our keys who could have said something. Since when do housekeeping staff dressed in their uniforms work behind the counter? She wasn't cleaning. She was looking at information that was being faxed through. My concern is when I book a room my information is sent there by fax from Expedia. There is a privacy act that all work places have in place to protect peoples information. If Super 8 does not do something about this, I will take matters into my own hands. I work in a hospital and there is zero tolerance for this type of behaviour. So disappointed.

I had the unhappy pleasure of booking a room at the Super 8 Motel located at 610 John C Calhoun Dr., Orangeburg, SC. for March 21, 2015. I arrived at the hotel around 1pm and checked it. At the time I was running behind scheduled and just took my luggage up to the room and left. Upon returning to my room a few hours later when I had a chance to really inspect the room I was disgusted by this room. This was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The smell in the room almost killed me. The room even with the lights on was dark, dreary, and uninviting. Sitting in the room just made me feel like I needed to shower but I was too scared to get undressed.

It was definitely not a place that you would feel comfortable sleeping. The activity going on in the parking lot was unbelievable. They offered you breakfast but the place where you would eat looked liked it had not been cleaned in months. The cereal dispenser had some type of bugs flying around in it. When I asked the front desk attendant to speak with a manager I was told that there was no manager on duty. I found this hard to believe that on a Saturday there was no manager on duty at that time of the evening.

I explained to the desk clerk the issue I had with my room at this hotel and the activity that was taking place in the parking lot which could clearly be seen while standing in the office talking to the clerk. I requested again to speak to a manager regarding a refund and I was again denied the opportunity to speak with a manager or to receive a refund. I ended up leaving and driving to the Howard Johnson's located at 3608 St. Matthews Rd., Orangeburg, SC. to book me a room. To say the least I made this trip from Washington, DC to be subjected to such sub-quality standards and service by this hotel and its staff. If I had to rate this hotel I would rate it a -5.

I had a reservation to check in at the Super 8 in North Bergen NJ. On 2/14/15 I went to check in to this location and I am disgusted by the service. I went to check in at 3:05pm and was told that my reservation had been canceled. I was told the reason was because the credit card I had booked the room with was declined.

Now having working at a Hilton I understand how it works when you have a sold out night. First step is your run a pre authorization on the credit cards for the reservation for that day to see if they are good. If any come up as declined you contact the guest to inform them that you need a valet credit card or if one cannot be provided you give them until a set time to check in before you cancel the room and sell it. This location did not do any of the things I just talked about. I went to check in and was told my room was canceled. When I asked why the agent I was told my card had been declined. I then asked him why I was not contacted. I was told I had been sent an e mail and should have responded. An email???

I was trying to add point to my Wyndham rewards so my phone number was on file. I checked my e mail in front of the guest service agent and nothing not even in my junk mail. The phone would have taken 30 seconds. This step showed how lazy this location is and how badly it is managed. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no one was on duty. Sold out night on a Saturday and they had no managers? This manager clearly did not want to show his face because how could you not have a manager on at 3pm. Then the agent turns around and tells me he can give me a special rate. I did not want to pay whatever he had to offer. I wanted to pay the $90 after taxes that I booked the room for. I did not feel I should pay anything other than what I booked the room for.

I did not show up on the wrong date. I had the room booked for two weeks already since I did not want the hotel to sell out. I also showed up at check in time 3:05pm and no one ever gave me a call. Then after calling customer service I was even more upset. The agent on the phone did nothing for me and when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on hold for about 15 min before I gave up. Then I went back to the front desk asked the agent how much it was going to be a night. I was already humiliated having my date waiting for me to check in and then the agent tells me he had no rooms.

This sign of disrespect, not caring for the customer, and the worst service ever. He just told me 15min ago he had a room. I ended up just walking out because the dispute was becoming pointless it showed the staff was not trained. I ended up paying for the fountain motel $120. Let me repeat that!!! I stayed at a motel with my date at $120 when I had booked a Super 8 room on 2/6/14 at a rate of $90 to check in 2/14/15. This place just overall sucked and my Valentines Day was destroyed by this.

I was called a ** and told to go back to Africa or the jungle where we came from and this is coming from the staff members. At 8 pm they decided 13 hours later that I am not welcome in the hotel I had 30 minutes to leave. It is winter and I have pets. They said take my belongings to the street and wait for my party to retrieve them. I am a woman of color. To be called a ** is unprofessional and also discrimination on race. I contacted my lawyer immediately. They are very racist and truly rude. Lawsuit is in progress as we speak. Ridiculous!!! Never ever rent from these people.... sad!!!

My parents' hotel room was damaged and the cupboard door fell off when you opened them, which they thought they were going to get charged for, and they didn't do that either!

Was too tired to check out at 11 so I stupidly paid for another night somehow caught about an hours nap even with the maids and maintenance noisily in the halls and left shortly thereafter. So I paid for an extra night just for a nap, that's not bad enough, they had a hold on my account for a third night. I was long gone from there the third night, believe me, and only stayed about three hours for the second night I paid for. Glad I kept checking my bank statements because the fraudulent third charge did not appear till four days after I left there and called my bank! Keep an eye on your bank statements if you give this particular motel your credit card! Pay cash! Better yet keep looking for a reputable motel!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I have been coming to Corvallis to see my son in college for the past 4 years and I have been staying at Super 8 for convenience. I spend around 1k to 2k per year because I visit him 3 times a year. I am disabled and I have a service dog that helps me walk and carry my groceries. I am in chronic pain. I am prescribed (90) 750 Vicodin and (60) 350 soma. The owner knows I have a service dog and he knows I am disabled. While walking I would have a cigarette. Helps keep my mind off the pain. I do not throw my butts on the ground but I put them in my pocket. When I get to the room I throw them away.

On Thanksgiving I took my dog out. When I came back the owner ACCUSED and started to scream at me not ask me that I was smoking in the room. We walked in the room and he showed me the butts in the trash. I tried to explain but he was screaming at me. I went out for Thanksgiving dinner with my son and I brought all 3 of my room key card. When I came back all three keys did not work. HE LOCKED ME OUT. I had to drag myself to the front desk to find out why all keys did not work. Ron the front desk heard what happened and defended me. All the front desk personnel defended me. Why I am outside smoking with them. Ron could not explain why all three keys did not work.

When I went into my room the bed was made but nothing else. No clean towels, floor not vacuumed. I checked out 2 days early. While checking out the owner screamed at me I need 4 hour cancellation notice. I wonder if he broke any law by locking a disabled person out of their room. On 12/9/14 spoke to corporate, they offered me $40.00. Nothing about the owner and how to remedy this problem. I told them he is going to do this to other disabled people. Now I am asking for the public help and boycott this hotel.

Two ladies came to look before they changed our room. Then a man who said he was housekeeping came looked and said it's not dirty, it's cracked there's no hair or wring. We went to another room and it was next to piles of trash outside the room. The inside was just as bad. The sheets had stains on them, there was a dead bug stuck to the dryer, the walls were dirty, dried snot was such on the bathroom wall. The refrigerator was not clean, the coffee maker inside was filthy, the curtains had holes in them. When I went to the lobby to get a fruit pack the front desk lady said they hid them so the children wouldn't get them. They unlocked the door where they were, gave me two and locked them back up. Room 250 at the Super 8 on Jackson in Oxford MS was infested with bed bugs. I checked in on Friday Oct 10, 2014. My stay was through Tuesday morning the 14th. I initially didn't know what the welts were when I woke up on Saturday and thought maybe it was a reaction to new lotion. As they progressively got worse and more itchy by Monday morning something told me it wasn't lotion, and I pulled back the sheets and a bedbug was literally crawling on the sheet I just got up from. I started taking pictures immediately and then I saw another one crawl on the pillow. I scooped it in a cup to show the hotel manager. This was all about 8:00 am on Monday morning the 13th of Oct. The lady at the front desk immediately moved me to a different room and told me to speak to the manager ** after 12pm.

I returned approximately 1:15pm and spoke to ** and another front desk lady who I had never seen or spoke to before about this issue. I showed them all the bite marks on my arms neck face and hands and also the bed bug in the cup. They both said it was my responsibility to advise them right away when this first happened and that I continued to stay in the room. I said I didn't know the cause of the bumps until I pulled back the sheets at 8 AM that morning and they kept repeating themselves that because I stayed there both Friday Saturday and Sunday night that they would only remove Sunday nights charge and not charge me for Monday night but Friday and Saturday I was responsible for paying.

In doing research it is now not surprising that the bumps did not appear until Saturday because it can take a few days for bedbug bites to appear; in fact, today is the 14th and new bumps continue to pop up. I told them I was okay with moving to the new room but that I expected them to credit me for the entire stay and he refused to do that so I told him that I would be putting in a dispute with my credit card and that I would win this easily and he said it depends on how you choose to do the dispute as if to challenge me. I told him that I am well aware of Visa and MasterCard dispute rights and that he would definitely be sorry that he was not willing to work with me because the additional two nights would be charged back to his merchant bank. Additionally I have also contacted the president of Super 8, Mr. Valletta and will also be filing a formal complaint with their customer care department.

To somehow put the blame on the consumer for a bedbug problem in a hotel is ludicrous and this is not how a company should treat their customers. I looked at numerous websites that indicated one may not know they've been bitten for several days or not know how the bumps appeared: "It is hard to tell if you’ve been bitten by a bed bug unless you find bed bugs or signs of infestation. When bed bugs bite, they inject an anesthetic and an anticoagulant that prevents a person from realizing they are being bitten. Most people do not realize they have been bitten until bite marks appear anywhere from one to several days after the initial bite. The bite marks are similar to that of a mosquito or a flea -- a slightly swollen and red area that may itch and be irritating."

This is absolutely a horrible feeling to think I slept in that bed and potentially all of my belongings may be contaminated now. The lack of concern by the hotel manager and blaming the customer is unacceptable.

The bed in the room that was rented to me was infested with bed bugs and I ended up not being able to sleep a wink. But the unspeakable physical condition of this appalling establishment was not the worst of my experience here. The manager-receptionist, Preeti **, behaved in a highly prejudiced, ignorant and arrogant manner towards me. Noticing that I was non-white, i.e., Asian, she stereotyped me as some kind of foreigner and made very unwelcome prejudiced inquiries concerning my ethnic background while I was registering for the room. It was late, I was tired and the price was cheap, so, instead of stomping out in outrage as I should have, I replied to her inappropriate snoopings with the statement that I was indeed of Chinese heritage and proud of it but still considered myself, first and foremost, an American. To this Ms. Preeti responded with the astoundingly rude, insulting and presumptuous remark that I had an inferiority complex (!) and suffered from other psychological problems! This literally threw me for a loop.

Attempting to maintain my composure, I facetiously replied that she, as a motel receptionist, was hardly qualified to make such a psychiatric diagnosis to which she then added the insult-to-injury quip that she had an M.A. in economics (!) and this more than qualified her to say whatever she wanted to me, i.e., to verbally abuse me. Such outrageously arrogant and inexcusably rude behavior is totally inexcusable!

The room smelled of a strong perfume like cleaner, sticky rugs, dirty curtains but most of all, we had to call about our plugged toilet. They delivered a plunger to use during our stay. Go figure. Lots of work in the area, no rooms to be had, instead of being glad and wanting to keep their clientele they are letting it go downhill.

I called the manager and told her about our stay, not to get a refund or discount but to make her aware of their problems. Go up on the rates and keep a budget for cleaning, she appreciated what I reported. She was happy they hired a retired man to work on the rooms four days a week. I told her I needed two rooms this week, she told me she would have James call me to book the handicapped rooms that were available. He called but had no rooms, was happy to tell me to go to the Comfort Suites next door to them.

Their CEO has to be nuts to not pay attention to all the complaints on the internet. Wonder if that's why all the corporations are moving out of this country and giving the work to people who "work" and appreciate the money. After all, the Americans would rather collect welfare, then again the government likes giving it to them. Good Grief, nobody cares to do the right thing, it's too exhausting for them.

There was no micro or fridge (which we had counted on), there was a big empty space where a table and chairs should have been. We let that go. My husband always puts a chair and/or our cooler in front of the door. Around midnight we woke to the sound of someone swiping a key card in our door and trying the handle at least twice. We saw a young couple with no baggage leave down the stairs. He went to a truck parked at the second building (across from us) and then joined her at another room at that building and went inside.

We managed to settle back to sleep only to be awakened AGAIN at 5:00 am by someone using a key card in our door again, but this time the door OPENED, catching on the night latch and banging into our cooler!! I jumped up, slammed the door and held it, my husband was hollering, "HEY, HEY!" A man's voice said, "Someone gave me this key and said it was empty." We didn't get to the window in time to see who had been out there, but my husband saw a different car parked where the earlier couple's truck had been.

THAT WAS A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. My husband told our experience at check out and got a business card with the manager's name and the names of the man who checked us in and who worked over night. I sent a detailed E-mail, but never received an apology or anything. We paid $78 and didn't get what was advertised, then had TWO scares within a few hours. Too much for "coincidence".

Is someone there allowing un-booked rooms to be used improperly?? How did that key card come to be used to open our door?? We certainly will NOT be back to that property to find out.

This was my 1st & last time at a Super 8. I called the hotel in Webster NY, the day before my 2 night stay and asked if I could check in earlier than the posted time of 2:00. I received a "no problem" answer. We arrived close to 1:30 and was told a room would not be available until the check in time of 3 (it said 2:00 on the website). She told me this as she was checking a family who walked in off the street, did not have a reservation and was given a room. I also asked if I could change my room from smoking to non smoking (this was my error), I was told that they could definitely accommodate my 10 year old and myself. She took my phone number and said she would call me as soon as the room became available but it should definitely be before 3:00. After wasting over an hour riding around in the car, we went back at 3:00 still not hearing from the hotel.

As soon as we walked in the woman said, "oh your room is ready and we checked you in" (guess she misplaced my number). So we schlepped our bag up the stairs due to the fact that there is no elevator and enter our smoking room. The window was wide open (guess that's how they passed this off as a non smoking room) and there were no sheets on the bed and a big hole in the mattress cover. So back downstairs we went to tell them about lack of sheets and she says oops and giggles. The room was old, stunk like smoke, the carpet was nasty and not very clean. The people did not seem to care.

The last morning we were there, my daughter was hungry and we decided to go down and check out the complimentary breakfast. We were told it ended at 10:00 and got there at 9:30. My daughter poured some cereal into a bowl and tried to pour milk but alas, it was empty. We asked the kid behind the counter for more milk and was told there was no more. The family with the 3 children who came down behind us were told the same thing. The kid behind the counter then disappeared and I found him hiding in the stairwell talking on the cell phone. There were also no more "pastries" or anything for adults to eat. The 24/7 coffee that was advertised was empty as well. When we went to check out, I got an annoying look from the kid behind the counter as he had to put down his laptop and pause a game that he was playing. Needless to say, this stay was not pleasant and you have lost a customer and I'm sure the family behind us as well.

After seeing the room, we immediately realized we wouldn't stay for more than 1 night. Due to the sheets looking dingy. The toilet was running and the towels being very ruff. So we asked for a different room and was told the only thing left is smoking. So we just stayed in the room with the running toilet. When we woke up the next morning, we were covered in bug bites. When I tried to show the manager he stated he didn't want to see and he couldn't make any adjustments on the room, but 15 minutes later a pest control truck pulls up. Please don't waste your money at the Super 8 in Huntsville Alabama.

I initially made a reservation to stay for 5 days in the Lynchburg Super 8. I had an intensives class at Liberty University. I chose Super 8 because I felt that the cost was reasonable and it was now under Wyndham hotels. So I felt that the hotel would have improved from past rumors of poor upkeep, etc. At any rate, from the beginning, I knew it was going to be horrible stay.

When I walked into the room, it smelled HORRIBLE! Dust was everywhere. My allergies immediately started to respond to the dust and uncleanliness of the room. I had to go to Walmart to buy covering (because the comforter was disgustingly dirty). I am so afraid that there are bed bugs infesting this room. To top it all off, the toilets were backed up, which means I had to sleep in a room without a functional working toilet from the beginning. Needless to say, I reduced the number of nights of my stay from 5 to 2 days, only because I had to wait until Tuesday for a room to become free at an adjacent, cleaner, hotel.

I can't believe Wyndham, with its upscale image is actually the owner of such a dump. I wasted my money and really should have spent the money for comfort and cleanliness. It has been the worse hotel stay in my life. I am complaining to everyone who will listen... DO NOT STAY AT THIS NASTY HOTEL!!!

We checked in around 6pm from traveling all day and night. The clerk that checked us in was very helpful and pleasant. Upon check in I asked the clerk for a late checkout. She said no problem. We went to our room and settled in for the night. I got a phone call at 10am from day shift clerk who asked if I still wanted to check out late still, and I said yes. Then she told me that there would be an additional charge of $20 to stay past 11:30. I told her we would be out by then.

My kids woke the next morning to find ants in their beds. I called back the clerk and told her what I found and she tried blaming it on me, saying we ate breakfast on the bed when we did not even eat breakfast. After showing her and her arguing with me I finished getting my things and we checked out. Do not stay here. It was not worth the $73 I spent. Go somewhere else. I usually stay at Best Western or La Quinta but I have never had any issues like this and I will be contacting corporate over this incident.

The blankets had cigarette holes in them. The refrigerator had mildew inside. The microwave was dirty inside. The sink in the bathroom was stopped up. The bathtub was stopped up, poor drainage. The toilet took about 2 minutes to fill up between flushes. The shower curtain was dirty. They gave us dirty towels. The headboard was mounted to the wall. I stayed at the Anchorage Super 8 on the night of June 6, 2014 at the approximate rate of $146 plus tax. This was a discount rate based on being a non-cancelable reservation. I had obtained the rate over the internet in January. On the back of the door of room 417 was a placard showing the rate for 2 people as being $117.88 per day. Now, that rate card is there for some reason and I think that reason is to keep the guest from being overcharged based on factors I am not familiar with. Yes, I agreed to the rate in advance but I had no way to know before entering the room what the stated rate is. Following the rate area of the placard was the rules and regulations of the motel. If I am subject to the rules, is not the motel subject to the rules also?

The desk clerk, Betty, was very evasive and said this probably was the winter rate and the card had not been changed. If so, is that my fault? I photographed the rate card for future reference if needed. I do not know whether Super 8 violated any rules, regulations or laws in charging more than the posted rate but I want others to know of my experience. I was asked by TripAdvisor to rate my stay but because of my reference to this issue they would not accept my input. I will take my business away from Super 8 at all locations and will further direct my complaints to authorities in Anchorage.

Now it's time for me to pick up my check again. And what a surprise - I can't have my check unless I sign another paper. I wouldn't recommend anyone work there or stay there. Clerk was informed car was across street in time restricted zone during check-in at approximately 3:30 pm PST, 15 April 2014. Showed clerk location of car and provide model and color. Offered to bring car over to valet zone and clerk said he would take care of it. Settled in upstairs in room for 30 minutes, proceeded to leave to Macy's 4 blocks away. Came back and was informed Super 8 did not have car and that it was towed. Tow away time was 4:47 pm PST and citation time was 4:33 pm PST. Vehicle sat for 1 hour minimum from time of check-in. After discussion with clerk confirming correct times of events, took a cab to city impound. Transferred $472.00 of savings money to checking to cover cost. Spoke with general manager the next business day, provided him forms from impound and citation and he said he'd take care of it and ensure we were recouped monies due.

It is now 1 May 2014 and Super 8 and the valet company have both stated the other should cover the cost. As a result to date of inaction from the San Francisco Super 8, we had the following cost: $472 for incurred cost of city impound, $95 for city citation, $10 for cab to city impound, $25 for valet fee.

Very dirty and dishonest hotel, Jonesville NC. As my husband and I unloaded our things we noticed that the carpet was very dirty, inch of dust on the microwave, and a huge cockroach. We stopped unloading our things and asked to be moved to another room. The new room had no towels, mold on the shower curtain and the worst mattress ever. We were afraid to take a shower due to the dirty tub and mold. Comforter and blanket looked like it had never been washed. I don't know how they had a 98 score for this hotel. As we were traveling home my husband noticed that he had forgotten his pillow.

I called the hotel to let them know that we were coming back to get our pillow and they said that the maid didn't find a pillow. It was not just an ordinary type of pillow. It was an $80.00 contour pillow from Belk's. When I said that I would come to check the room they said that it was already occupied by new guest. So wrong of people to do people like this. I wonder if they would have liked it if they stayed at a hotel that kept something they forgot when leaving. It would have been better to sleep outside in a tent than in that room on that nasty bed! I would like to know who to contact to get what is mine back. Also to have this hotel shut down until it is updated to hotel regulations.

I went in to make the change one month in advance and was told that due to the fact this was an advance reservation rate it could not be canceled/changed. My goodness, aren't all reservation rates made in advance? Not letting it be canceled is one thing but to not let me just reschedule my reservation at a later date is really bad. It was the day of 3/16/14. My husband and I arrived in Pittsburgh, PA, traveling from Alabama on 3/16. My husband programmed the GPS to reflect a few hotels in the area of Freeport Rd in Pittsburgh. We noticed Super 8 Hotel on Landings Drive in Pittsburgh. We called 412-828-8900 (Super 8) before coming in to confirm availability with Super 8. Super 8 Attendant/Desk Clerk ** gave us such a hard time explaining the policy after she said, "Come on over, we have plenty availability", which she must have been unfamiliar with working for this hotel or a new employee!!!!!

I was appalled at the lack of knowledge she had explaining a simple process on how to check in & check out. When we parked the car my husband went in, I stayed in the car, he came back out in less than 5 seconds. He explained that the Hotel wanted to charge his card right away, when he wanted to pay in cash at check out!!! I went in and asked her (**) to explain the policy??? What pissed me off was this Inexperienced Unprofessional Desk Attendant had nothing to say AND NOT ENOUGH WAS SAID , SHE MADE THE COMPANY LOOK SO BAD !!!

I think she was wondering why this black couple would like to go to sleep after traveling 16 HRS, WHICH WAS EXPLAINED TO HER!!!! She couldn't explain why we could not pay in cash, in the morning for check out!! She told us it was not an option and she mentioned that she could only take the money off the card, that I'm sorry was not true!!! As being a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest Club with more prestigious hotels, I highly doubt that Super 8 cares about their customers, its got to be all about the money, it felt like we were being punished for the lack of upscale guests that Super 8 HAS.

The staff appeared to wearing dingy clothing, no one smiling, the maintenance man for the hotel was in the lobby, and he cared nothing about the noise, and neither did SUPER 8. The lighting was very bad in the lobby, there were no guests that were seen, the place as overly quiet, no activity at all, much of a eery non-cheery place!!! Sort of like the Bates Motel!!! Anyway, because of lack of professionalism, we will never in a million years go to SUPER 8 again, we will sleep at a more inviting hotel and a more upscale place. Cheaper is not better especially in this fading economy!!! Consequences.... Slept at the Comfort Inn, much more professional, however not the Sheraton or the Marriott, we did get complimentary breakfast, and 24 hour fitness center and cleaner atmosphere, however Comfort Inn needs up to date commodities. It is 2014! Get with it hotels!!

The storeroom door had white powder splattered all over the door. The hallway had dirt & lint along the edges. Room 200 is the handicapped room & although it is roomy & comfortable for the most part, the tv remote does not work properly & instead of having a walk-in-shower/tub, they have a normal tub with an adjustable shower head. This is USELESS to anyone confined to a wheelchair or someone who cannot get into a bathtub without assistance. My girlfriend was unable to take a shower & was forced to take a sponge bath. To make matter worse my son left his cell phone on the bed. I called the helpful night manager to arrange to pick it up. When I did, the face looked liked someone took a nail file to it and it had been either left in the rain or dumped in water. It no longer works. I tried numerous times to call and email to complain about the manager and I am asking $75 towards a new phone. I explained that we had both taken showers and no, it hadn't overflowed.

The next morning my husband and I went down to have breakfast (if that's what you call what they were serving) and our 20 year old daughter finished her showering when a man (NOT in uniform) knocked on the door to say our tub was leaking again. The front desk stopped me and said our tub was leaking and could we move rooms. They were not polite or apologetic!

BUT our biggest complaint is either during our move or in our leave my husband left his brand new (worn twice) pair of Dr. Marten boots. I have called several times and have gotten the run around. I was asked if I could come in to file an incident report. Really? We live 220 miles away! I asked if I could file the report online and was told no. I then asked if a manager could file it for me and again was told no. Makes me wonder if the person I was speaking with knew something about my husband’s boots and their whereabouts!!!! I tried to file a complaint on Motel 8's website so we will see if anything is done. Don't think we will be staying with Motel 8 again!!!!

These things happen. However, I did expect fully that the hotel would accommodate us in other rooms.

Because there are no other suites, and because side by side beds in one room is not appropriate in our case, we expected that they would put us in two separate rooms. They offered us two rooms, but then also required that we would pay full price for two rooms, even though it was their fault that we had to be moved - whatever that reason may be. Their attitude was outrageous! First, the accent of the man I was speaking to was so thick I could barely understand him. Second, I was not speaking to the person in charge. In fact, the person in charge was in the background coaching the person I was speaking to. Third, the person I was speaking to cut me off when I was speaking or spoke over me. Fourth, there was no evidence of accountability or customer service.

The demonstrable attitude here was "this is it and if you don't like it, go somewhere else". I therefore went somewhere else. In addition, he gave me the phone number to a neighboring motel. I called the number twice. Wrong number. I have stayed in hotels all over the world. In my experience, if the hotel experiences a setback that inconveniences a guest, they do everything possible to please their "paying" guest in order to retain their patronage. I discovered when I called the "head office" of Super 8, that the hotels are franchised, so I don't know about their level of required accountability.

I do know that this Super 8's rudeness, ineptitude, lack of professional courtesy, and just plain greediness has caused four would be customers to scramble for accommodations in another city at the last minute. I will never even consider staying at a Super 8 in the future, because the brand can't be trusted. I will also inform my many friends who are regular travelers to avoid the Super 8 at all costs. The owners of this franchise must be very rich, because they sure didn't care to hold on to my money. All I can say is "wow".

I reserved a room for two nights through Expedia at the Super 8 in Shakopee, MN. My reservation was for a non-smoking room, as my significant other was diagnosed with pneumonia several days prior. When we checked in on Friday, the 6th, and I was told that my reservation through Expedia did not specify the room so I had to take the smoking room unless I wanted to pay an extra $20.00 per night. I called Expedia right away and explained the situation. Expedia told me I did pay for a non-smoking room and that they would call the hotel and talk with a manager. The front desk person told Expedia that no manager was on staff and would not be back for three days, and also told Expedia there were no non-smoking rooms. There had only been a twenty-minute difference between check-in and Expedia calling the front desk.

Having no other options at midnight, we went to the room. My significant other coughed all night long, and on top of that the bedding was filthy. First thing, Saturday morning, I called Expedia again and spoke with another customer service person. He and I went over the notes from the midnight conversation and he said he would call the front desk again while I waited on hold. He came back and said the front desk person said he would have to talk with a manager and that one would be in around ten that morning. I did not hear anything from Expedia other than I could change hotels if there were any available in the area we needed, and there was not.

I tried to talk with the person at the front desk Saturday afternoon after we had returned to the hotel and the lady at the desk told me I would have to talk to a manager about changing rooms but the manager was gone for the night. I asked if she could call a manager and she said she could not. So we spend another night at this hotel and in this room as the reservation was non-refundable. My significant other coughed all night long and the bedding was still dirty. I cannot even describe the smell of everything, even the bathroom towels smelled like death.

I stayed 4 nights in the Super 8 Dublin Virginia. The last 2 days I did not receive housekeeping service at all. I tried to call the front desk the first day on and off for half an hour. I walked to the desk only to find the young girl outside talking to a guy. She came in and gave me towels when she saw me. She said she would tell the manager. I came back from a full day the next day only to find it had not been touched. Once again, I had to walk to get fresh towels. I, again, asked for the manager to contact me. Meanwhile, the trash and old food containers were piling up in my room. The hotel had towels that had to be 30 years old. They were dingy, dark, and stained. Disgusting. I have called back several times since I checked out and the manager has never returned my call. You can bet that I will never...ever...stay at a Super 8 again. I have not experienced anything remotely close to this before.

Old beat-up looking furniture. Blow drier almost falling off the wall. Handle in bath was not clean. Dingy looking old bedspread. Did not want to sleep under covers @ this point. Went to get extra blankets. One had hole in it. The other needed a sweater shaver. Laid them on the bed to sleep over bedspread. The pillows were flat as a board. Asked for 2 more. Still flat. I have a sore neck already from this. I have never complained. However. There needs to be some major updating in this place without any pool or anything to offer. The $70.00 I paid for this miserable stay was totally not worth it. I do feel so ripped off!!!

I told her to show it to me and I looked it up on line and it ended up being Bed bugs! I got my husband up & we got our things. My husband went to the front desk. We ended up in a room with a king size bed and there is 3 of us so they had to move us again. So we asked if we can be compensated for it, they told us no. We ended up checking out a day earlier and they gave us a hard time getting a refund for the night in a advance that we paid for. No more Super 8 for us. My husband and I were on our way home from vacation and stopped to spend the night after a long tiring day of driving. We chose the Super 8 Motel on Hwy 10 at Chipley, Florida. Being so tired we were just happy to have a bed to sleep in. Much to our disgust we woke the next morning to a deplorable room. This is what we found: a filthy microwave in and out (there was dried on food inside and the front looked like it had been wiped down with the rag used to wipe the bathroom floor); a filthy fridge inside and out; light fixtures on the walls were caked with dust that had been exposed to moisture; furniture had a film of greasy dust; faucet handle at the sink area was sticky and gritty; the hair dryer looked like it hadn't been wiped off in months; there were what looked like lemon or orange seeds in the sink; there was a bench with a cushion I would not touch (full of stains and just downright dirty); using the coffee maker was out of the question; the phone was untouchable; the walls had spots that I am afraid to think of what they could have come from; the outside and base of the toilet were filthy; the floor behind the toilet was disgusting; the bed itself was up on some kind of jacks and the filth under it was sickening.

The reason why I noticed all of this is not just the fact it stuck out like a sore thumb but the fact that I used to be a motel housekeeper many years ago and one of my jobs was to inspect random rooms after they were cleaned. Obviously this room hasn't been checked for quite a long time. When I approached what I believe to be the owner/managers with my list I was given a look like I must be crazy and was told this was an isolated incident. Obviously the condition of this room didn't just happen over night. Excuse after excuse was made but no apology was extended or any form of compensation offered. We were not looking for money anyway, we just want them to understand how repulsive the room was and that follow up inspections should be made randomly.

They still kept making excuses so my husband and I took our leave. All I can say is, if you are in the area of Chipley, Florida steer clear of the Super 8 Motel - it really isn't so super!!!!!!!!

Super 8 in Oxford, MS was the worst experience ever. Although most of the staff was trying to be accommodating it still did not excuse the fact that out of a party of 20+ in about 8 rooms, only one person was somewhat satisfied with their room. Our trip was already based on bad circumstances because our father passed away and we were in Oxford to attend his funeral. On day one when we checked into the hotel, one room the door had what appeared to be bullet holes in it and plus it would not properly shut. So the person was moved to another room. That room had blood soiled blankets on the bed. Another room also had blood soiled bedding on it.

The rooms were not clean and one room even had a plumbing problem which one of the guest repaired instead of maintenance because they were told they had to wait until the next day for someone to look at it and the staff that was working that evening did not even go to the room to see if they could do anything about it. The staff member did offer to move the person for the third time however they were exhausted and tired of moving around so much and afraid they would just be moved to another disappointing room with another problem. Overall, soiled bedding, dirty tubs, filthy mirrors, dressers, TVs, not vacuumed, dirty bathtubs and garbage here and there on the floor which was left behind from previous hotel guest; such as barrettes, pieces of candy, straw wrappers and etc.

To make things worse the stay was for 4 days and three nights. On the third night a butter knife was found by myself in a bed that I was sleeping in that had been made up earlier that day by housekeeping. It was under the fitted sheet. There was also a spoon found in the comforter. So the housekeeping is very poorly trained in cleaning. If I could rate it lower I would. I am not an angry guest because I am not that type of person. However I am very, very extremely disappointed for all of my family who had to stay there at this hotel. Especially since we were there to bury our father. Will never ever in my lifetime stay at this Super 8 in Oxford, MS again and will not recommend it to anyone.

My family and I stayed at the Bolivar, MO location on Wommack 5/18/13 through 5/20/13. When we arrived, the lobby was crowded with people checking in, and there was only ONE front desk person. We had a reservation (so they knew we were coming) and our room was not ready. The front desk associate told us to return in 1 1/2 hours. Upon our return, we still had to wait in line and waited another 1/2 hour to check in. The issue was that there were no linens/towels. When we went into the room, there were 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths. This, in my opinion, is not acceptable.

When we departed the hotel, my iPhone 5 home charger was left behind. As soon as we returned home, I called the next day & the manager, Sherry, was nice enough to find it and tell me she would mail it to me. That was on May 21st & I have yet to receive it. I called back 10 days later and she informed me that she had lost my info but still had it. I reconfirmed my info PLUS my phone number & still no delivery!! In my opinion, if you are the MANAGER of a property and you OFFER & TAKE OWNERSHIP to a customer, then ultimately it is your responsibility to follow through. All I can say is that I am beside myself...

After several unreturned phone calls & follow up, it is now June 19th and all I get from Staff and the manager herself is that "It is in the mail". NOT ONCE was I told that there would be a fee associated with the shipping. At the beginning of this nightmare, it was not put to me that there would be a fee because I thought she was doing it as a courtesy. When we reached another associate, she led me to believe that my phone call was not the only one where people are waiting for an item to be returned. What put me OVER THE EDGE was when I called to get a tracking number so I could track it and ask if it was sent USPS or other carrier, she had no clue. She called her manager and "supposedly" received a tracking number, called us back and rattled the number off so quickly that I couldn't write fast enough to keep up with her. She then said, "I have to answer another call," and put me on hold.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back, and the staff/management of this facility has now been reported to the Better Business Bureau/Bolivar Police Dept./and Super 8's corporate office for their RUDENESS, INCOMPETENCY, and UNETHICAL PRACTICES!!

We spent $150.00 for a king size bed. We went down for the complimentary breakfast and there was no coffee. No one was keeping up with the 10 people that I saw come and go at the coffee machine. The orange juice was mixed with some unknown substance, and we couldn't even find a parking space... We drove around the little parking lot about 20 minutes until someone left. The people who were parked next to us were not happy with the hotel either. They left. Then when we were walking down the street coming back from the boardwalk, we witnessed a shooting and it scared the crap out of us. We were so upset of the lack of safety for ourselves and other patrons at the hotel. It was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Well, he kicked me out of the hotel, which is fine with me. I did not feel safe, and the construction work was loud. I gathered my stuff as quickly as possible while they were escorting me out. I checked my bank card, and I was charged twice on both cards $59x2 for 2 nights, $66, and a $50 for less than 24 hours of checking in. I have also found out my diamond gold watch and cameo gold earring I bought in Rome, Italy are missing today. I have called the hotel to find out if they have them. The only one chair I had in the room was dirty and you could see stains on it. There was no plug in for CPAP machine next to the bed, and the lock for the window was a stick. My husband and I spent the weekend in Great Lakes, IL, for our youngest son's graduation from Navy Boot Camp. After spending the day with our son at Midway airport for his departure to a school in Pensacola, we left the airport and headed west towards our home in Bellevue, NE. Because it was early evening, I got on my iPhone and searched for hotels along our route and found one that was approximately 50 miles down Interstate 80 in Peru, IL. I called the Super 8 toll free number and booked a room for the evening. Upon checking in, the desk clerk was very personable and friendly and the hotel appeared to be very well-maintained and clean. We got to our room, and immediately went to bed as we had been up since 2 am that morning.

Early the next morning, I got up to go the bathroom and after taking care of my business, simply flushed the toilet only to have the water continuously run and overflow the toilet. I had to physically take the cover off the back and using a wash cloth stuff it between the chain and stopper to keep the tank from filling up and causing more water to fill in the toilet. The floor was 2 inches deep in water so I finally sent my husband downstairs to get more towels and a plunger. He came back with them and I told them what was going on. We received no support from the front desk, no help in getting this toilet to stop filling with water. What we did get was a very rude owner who accused us of tampering with the toilet. He then expressed his disgust with us for coming in at 7 pm and taking one of his rooms (we did book it through the 800 number and paid the designated rental price) so I'm not sure why we were scum for that.

I thought hotels depended on travelers stopping along their trips for a room to spend the night at. When I called the front desk asking for a room to take a shower and clean up in, I was told no, they could not do that, then he hung up on me. I gathered all my belongings and went to check out where the owner proceeded to tell his wife, the desk clerk, to "throw us out". When I questioned what he had said from back behind the counter, his wife stepped up and said that he had told her to "check us out". The owner then started throwing accusations at us like we had done something wrong and then proceeded to tell me I needed to go to church and that I was some kind of scum for not being in church that morning. Funny, he wasn't in church so I'm not even sure what that remark was supposed to mean.

I have never in my entire life experienced a more unprofessional business owner. I am very disappointed in Super 8 for allowing individuals such as this to represent their hotel chain. My husband and I have 5 grown children and throughout their childhood we constantly stayed at Super 8 hotels and even had one of their Super 8 frequent guest cards when they were offered. I can say with the utmost assurance that my family will never stay at a Super 8 again. I have never been treated with so much disrespect. My husband is a retired veteran of 25 years and my son is starting his career with the United States Navy. I cannot understand a business that expects you to pay for their service, but doesn't want to make things right when mistakes or situations occur. I wasn't asking for a refund as we had a nice night's sleep in their hotel room. All I wanted was an opportunity to take a shower before getting on with our journey, which was supposed to be covered in the rate charged for the room.

My advice to any traveler along I-80 in Peru IL is stay at the Hampton or La Quinta Inn and stay as far away from the Super 8. The owner is a very rude and disrespectful person and seems to possibly have issues with members of the armed forces. If I could say anything else to this rude man, it would be that my husband and my son served this country to protect the rights of all Americans, even rude individuals that seem to hate those same individuals who serve to protect the very rights that allowed them to own a franchise with this company and in this country. God Bless America and God help people like the owners of this Super 8.

Super 8 in San Luis Obispo, CA - I found out after I had made the reservations that they were non-refundable. This made it impossible to later change or cancel the reservations. I booked originally for 4 nights but stayed only 1 night. I was given a room on the top floor farthest from the entrance. It took climbing 5 flights of stairs to reach the room. By the time I had unloaded the car, I was exhausted from lugging all my luggage up the stairs. It then rained the first night, making all the stairs slippery and treacherous. I just turned 65 and decided that I did not need this kind of aggravation and physical torture while on vacation, so I checked out early and lost my deposit for the remaining 3 nights. I have never checked out early from a hotel before, but the conditions here required me to move. Needless to say, I will never stay at a Super 8 Motel again.

My son-in-law booked two rooms at Super 8 in Ukiah, CA. A week before we were to check in, I called that motel and said that I would like one room taken out of his name and put in my name so my oxygen would be delivered to my room. Instead, they rented a third room and did not remove the other room from my son-in-law's name. He could not afford to pay for an extra room so I gave him $200 to cover the charge and tried to get a refund. The manager would not admit his mistake. He also hung up on me. I understand this is not a first for Super 8 to do extra room charges. Buyer beware!

We made reservations at the Super 8 in San Antonio (St. Mary's St.) Texas for May 4-5. Upon making the reservation online for 1 room, I called after to confirm which I always do. It's lucky I did. It reserved 3 rooms! I told them I only needed 1. I was told that I had non-cancellation room rates. After being transferred to another person, I was told my card would be charged for the 3 rooms. After arguing with a non-English speaking person, I just hung up and went to my bank and withdrew all the money so it couldn't be charged. So after arriving at the motel at 3 pm, we turned on the AC; it was very loud and dusty smelling. We were in a room on the top floor on the very end. But every time someone flushed the toilet or turned on the water, we could hear it. It stated Internet access but I was never able to sign on to my tablet. When taking a shower the following morning, I had no hot water. There were cigarette burns on the blanket. The sheets smelled dirty. The worst part was my husband woke up with pink eye! Horrible experience! I have called and complained and they offered a free night. Ah, no thank you. I want my money back!

My wife and I recently were in Chandler, AZ for 4 nights at Super 8 as we were in the area looking and searching for ideas of places to live. Upon checking in, we found our room was very dirty, air conditioner unit was coated with dirt and when it came on, there was an odor coming out of the unit. The floor appeared to be less than clean, again another odor and we were not sure when and if the carpet had been cleaned. The sliding door track and windows were very dirty. The next morning, we were awakened by water pouring out of the exhaust fan from the shower from upstairs. I immediately told the front desk and I was told her shift was up, but she would make a note about the water. I told them I wanted another room. We had to wait until a room was ready. it took until 2:30 before we could get another room.

We lost a day looking around the area. The staff was very laid back and didn't seem to be concerned about our situation. We were very upset that they didn't seem to care. I realize that they couldn't do much until people checked out. There was not even an apology. We feel we should have been compensated at least one night for the trouble we had. Housekeeping didn't seem to be in a big hurry to get their work done. They were on their cell phones while in the rooms and supposed to be working. We found the towels were yellow. When I asked for extra towels, the manager was not too reactive, nice enough but also laid back. I asked for a plunger and the maintenance gave me the plunger. We feel that we will stay someplace else because of the condition of the two rooms we had.

Upon receiving my charges on Sunday, I was to pay one night and my roommate the other night. We received statements to show this transaction. Upon reviewing my account on Monday, I was charged for three nights. I called and the girl said I should check with my bank. Tuesday I called, she took my card information and said she was crediting my account for two nights as we spoke. Today is Friday and no credit.

When I called, the girl told me the manager was out of town and they couldn't do anything until Monday. Other ladies had the same problem but they were told manager was out until Friday, and then was told Monday. Evidently, I was not the only one. I feel like we have been getting the runaround and they have several charges that do not belong to them. Where is the money going? I am involved with several groups that travel and stay in motels. I arrived at the Super 8 motel in Chester, VA on Saturday (3/23) to stay until 3/28. During that time I had asked by using the sign provided not to disturb my room. I put this on the door knob on Saturday when I arrived. When I would leave for the day, I would leave the sign on the door (the sign stayed on the door every day and night of my stay). When I would leave, my trash is outside the door. When I returned on Wednesday, the staff had been in my room. They claimed to have cleaned the room but hair was still in the bathroom. My personal things in the bathroom were moved and were gone through. My room was done the same way. I felt very violated and went to complain at the front desk.

There was an 8 1/2 wide x 1 1/2 inch piece of paper that stated all rooms will be cleaned every other day even if you have the sign up. I really think that's an invasion of privacy. I paid to use this room and did not want anyone to enter my room that's way I used the sign. They have signs everywhere about no pets, but only one about the rooms. If the sign was true, they would have already been in the room before then.

We just got back from staying at one of your Super 8 motels at 689 Super 8 Way Three Rivers, MI. We were not very happy with the outcome of our weekend getaway. We had 2 rooms - my husband and I in one room and my son, his wife, 2 kids and mother-in-law in the other. After checking in, we went to our rooms. Let's just say we should have checked right back out. This hotel needs updating very bad. The rooms had an old cigarette smell to them. The carpet was dirty and full of cigarette burns. Mind you, Michigan is a smoke-free state in public buildings. There were dust, cobwebs in both rooms, stuff under the beds in my son's room, there was a broken chair in my son's room, heater was so loud you couldn't hear the TV and it didn't work right.

At 1:30AM, my son and his family had to move because my 4-year-old grand son got cold because the heater wasn't working. The heater in my room was loud, but I knew it wouldn't do any good to complain. There were dogs barking in the hotel and the bathrooms were very small for larger people. The toilet seat in my room was broken. It felt like you were going to fall off the toilet. The pool was very cold and I couldn't enjoy it for very long. The outside of the building needed a paint job and the parking area needed to have the holes fixed. Lighting was poor.

The complimentary breakfast was a big joke. No fresh fruit, old coffee, warm milk, 5 English muffins, 4 snack packs of fruit, 2 yogurts, 3 pieces of bread, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, waffles and juice. My husband is a diabetic and can't have these things. Frankly, they didn't turn any of us on. Sunday morning we went out to eat at McDonald's, which had a better breakfast.

The staff was not very friendly. The late night staff person was rude. We had our door propped open so our two grandkids could come and go as they want (they are 4 and 7). My husband and I, as well as my daughter-in-law and her mother, are handicap so it was easier to have the doors to both rooms propped open so the kids could come and go. The night person was very rude and told us we couldn't do that. Didn't ask why the doors are propped open, just shut the doors herself.

This isn't the first time we have stayed at a Super 8, but it will be the last time. We will not get burned again from your hotel chain. I have stayed at 3 different Super 8 in the last year, but it is the last time I'll stay at one. Believe me, I will be telling my friends and family to stay away from your hotel chain. Never again will we stay at a Super 8. I have one word to say about the Super 8 Hotels - disgusting. I believe something should be done. Some kind of refund.

The manager tried calling me at the room; however, we were gone all day and got back around 8pm and the keys didn't work. They locked us out of the room because of my child's incompetency issue. I went to the office and we regained entrance to our room, only to realize that the maid didn't clean it. She didn't make the beds, take out the trash, and refill the tissue or towels. I went back to the office and the front desk clerk told me that the maid told the owner that they weren't going to clean my room and obviously the owner was fine with that. March 2, 2013, Portland, Maine - Thought we'd spend a night at Super 8. Worst night sleep of my life, I think. Got room 109 on main floor across from 110. The barking dogs earlier in the evening were in a U-Haul truck in the parking lot. But as the night went on, they must have gotten moved into the hotel because all hell broke out about 1:00AM. After calling the front desk for the second time, about 8:00AM, the cleaning lady (she said she was the cleaning manager) came to my door banging. She said she was very sorry and for me to stop at the front desk on the way out, and they would make it up to us by giving our money back or free stay next time (dogs still barking while we talked at the door).

But when we were leaving the front desk, that was not at all what happened. The lady there said she asked the people who owned the dogs if they had been barking and they said no, not at all. So she didn't know what we were talking about. Without making confrontation, my wife and I left very dissatisfied. Who would imagine such disrespect to a customer? Needless to say, we will not be staying at any Super 8 again.

After checking into the Super 8 in Charlottesville, Virginia, we were told that the coupon that we had was not valid when there were only 3 rooms left. After being on the road for 14 hours, I did not want to argue with Aljean (the desk clerk). The first thing I had to do was kill a large bug crawling up the wall. Then, when I pulled the sheets back, I found hair on the bed. I brushed it off. Then, there were two large stains between the pillows. I had had enough. I went to complain to Aljean. She did not even want to see the bed. Instead, she gave me the key to the room next door. I went in to check the bed. Surprise! There were two large hairs in this bed too. These are handicapped rooms as well.

I was very angry by this time. It was also 10:00 pm. at night. I went back to the front desk and asked Aljean to look at these beds. She came along. In the second room, she said that she would have the day staff change the sheets. In our room, she touched the stains and stated that they were dry, but she would change the sheets. When she removed the sheets, I spotted another long dark hair on the mattress cover. So she removed it as well. The replacement sheets were so thin you could spit through them. It was close to 11:00 pm. by this time. My wife and I had a very poor night's sleep after that. If Super 8 cannot find it in their hearts to compensate us in some way, I assure you we will go out of our way to avoid any Super 8 in the future.

My husband, my 8-year-old daughter and myself were unexpectedly called out of town to Ringling, Oklahoma for a family member's funeral. So in trying to save money, I went online and purchased what I thought was a reasonable rate for the 3 nights that we would be staying in Ardmore, Oklahoma, which was the nearest town to Ringling. The pictures on the internet site were not what we saw when we pulled into the parking lot and neither were the rooms. When we entered the building, the smell of burnt fried fish literally knocked us over. When the attendant checked us in and we proceeded to enter the room, the smell of fish followed all the way down the hall.

When we entered the room, it was filthy. The curtains were about to fall off the window, along with the screen on the window. The room had such a bad order from not being cleaned properly. When we tried to use the toilet, it was like riding a mechanical bull. It was not attached to the floor and there was a big hole in the floor below it. When we insisted that the attendant give us another room, he sent us upstairs. The smell of diesel was so strong it took our breath away. When we entered the room, it too had a terrible order to it. When we checked the bed linens, they had what looked like oil all over the sheets. We were forced to buy blankets to put on top of the beds just to sleep. Even the pillows smelled like a truck driver that hadn't taken a bath in a month. The bathroom was filthy. The hallway was full of bags of empty beer cans and the parking lot was full of beer cans and bottles, not to mention the dirty diapers.

Because we had booked this thing you call a hotel online, I had no recourse in getting our money back so we were forced to stay there. I don't know what kind of reputation that your company is trying to portray, but if this is the kind of places that you don't mind putting your name on, then you will never get our business. I will warn all my friends to be careful when shopping online, because the pictures are not always what you get when you get there. I had to beg forgiveness from my daughter and promise that I would never make her stay in an awful place like that again.

What happened to good old fashion honesty in advertising? I have also sent a letter to the online company that I booked with and suggested that they screen the clients a lot closer than they do. Your company is a big fraud and you practice in false advertising. You ought to be ashamed of yourself!

When we arrived at the hotel, which was booked online and I had the printout of what the hotel was to look like, there was no way we could have been at the right hotel. However, the address matched the reservation dates so we proceeded to register for the stay of 3 nights. After entering the room, which was dirty and rundown, due to being tired we stayed. At 6:15 the next morning, there were 2 construction trucks which were loud and were backed into the parking spot right in front of our room and started up the vehicles. This was my second clue that I didn't want to be there, but the final straw was when my sister was taking a shower and the plaster on the ceiling was falling into the bathtub while she was showering. At this point, I was ready to check out and go to another hotel.

When I went to the service desk to request cancellation for the remainder of my stay, they started giving me a hard time about leaving. I informed them that first off, the stay was to be $48.00 a night and they charged $77.00 for the night. I showed them the picture of the hotel that I booked from the internet and that it was far from what we expected. The receptionist told me that we were at the right hotel and that because there were 2 beds in the room, we were charged the extra money. I informed him and showed him the paperwork where there were 2 people booked for the room at $48.00 per night and now the price went up because there were two of us. I cancelled the remainder of our days booked and they refunded my credit card for all but one day, which I wasn't going to argue about anymore.

In leaving the motel, my sister was packing the things up to leave and I was taking care of the cancellation at the front desk. We left and went to a different hotel. I booked our room and went on for our touring. We returned to the second motel, at which time we unloaded our things and proceeded to get showered and sleep. It was at this point that my sister discovered her medicine was missing. I immediately called the Super 8 Hotel, asking if anyone was booked in room 133 that night. She said, "No, the room was empty." I asked if housekeeping had turned anything in and she said she didn't know. I asked if we could come over and look to see if the medicine was in the room. She told me, "What are you calling me at midnight for?" I informed her that we had just got to our room and that we need the medicine as my sister is a diabetic and has other health issues. We need the medicine tonight.

The lady said, "I am in lock down until 2:00AM." If we wanted to call, then someone else would be there. I asked if we could just go look ourselves. She said, "No, I can't let you into the room. There is nothing we can do. You should have called earlier than this." I was very upset about all of this. I cannot believe that a hotel that is open 24 hours a day would be in lock down from 12:00AM to 2:00AM. To me, this medicine was an emergency situation and the fact that we could not go look ourselves was wrong. My sister went without her medicine due to a lazy receptionist, who refused to go look in the room or to allow us to look in the room, and also find it hard to believe that no one could come to the office between 12:00 and 2:00AM.

What do they do if someone wants to book a room between these hours? If it is open 24 hours, what is all of that about? The next question is how good is the housekeeping that they did not find the medicine? At 8:00AM, we finally called to question the whole mess and a gentleman answered the phone. He told us he would take our number and call us back. He returned our phone call and said he had found the medicine exactly where we told them it was. We went over and got the medicine, along with some clothes which were also in the dresser. What is with housekeeping not looking in the dresser and not contacting us as to the finding of medicine? The housekeeping department is about as good as the hotel receptionist.

My sister went without her medicine due to the lack of hotel management having a lock down and housekeeping not doing their job. I am very angry about this whole mess and would not recommend anyone to stay at the motel. It was Super 8 3304 South Eastman Road, Longview, TX 75602. If you want a rat whole to stay at and really bad service, use this hotel. I guarantee you will get just that. I would highly recommend that if you have any reservations at this hotel, you may want to cancel them.

My wife and I decided to take a small weekend ride down to the coast in lower GA since we have never been down there before. We normally go to Tybee Island, GA. So my wife got online and found a Super 8 in Jesup, GA, which is right on I-95 (the expressway between the two islands we wanted to check out), just in case we wanted to go somewhere new for a few days getaway. Well, she made reservations at the Super 8; our confirmation was **. That’s a room with queen bed and smoking. We arrived there Thursday (12/27) at 1pm. The lady at the desk told us our room was on the 3rd floor. I asked her if she had any rooms on the first floor because I'm disabled. She said no, that all the smoking rooms were on the third floor. So OK, here we go lugging everything to room 311.

When we got off the elevator and started down the hall, it looked like a dungeon - very dark, not like the first floor that I had seen. So we went in our room. The windows looking outside looked like they have not been cleaned since the building was new. You just barely could see the little store that sat next door. The light cover in the bathroom was brown. I know cigarette smoke will dirty up things over time. But I also know that washing them will clean them back to normal. My wife sat down to use the restroom and screamed - she almost fell in the shower because the commode seat is broken. If you do not sit on it just right, it will throw you in the floor or somewhere else I would rather not say. This place was nasty. Paint peeling off the walls in the restroom and all the other above stuff.

I didn’t complain. I had rather tuff through it and leave, because if you complain, you never know what you will get. The address of this place is 5280 New Jesup Hwy, Brunswick, GA 31520. I would like a refund for my stay. It pretty much ruined our 3-day relaxing road trip. I would also like for someone to contact these people and address these problems with them before it happens to someone else. I paid $104.70 for 3 days of living hell. We would always stop at the gas station to use the restroom before going back to the hotel. For 3 days, all we'd done was just sleep as little as possible and then leave the room. I would like your consideration on a full refund. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Thanks for your time.

I went to have breakfast this morning with my mother and there was almost nothing to eat, even the gentleman who was there with me said that the place was a dump. They do not even have anything for breakfast! I thought it was a continental breakfast. Let me just inform you that I was there at 7:15 A.M. Then, I went to go smoke - I choose to smoke, I paid for them. I know the laws of Texas; you have to smoke 25 feet away from the building. I work for Wolters Kluwer here in Texas. She rudely said, "No smoking in the room.” in a very bad manner. Then, she was drilling me that one person needed to leave. I had already paid for my mom to stay. The rooms were also a mess, and the refrigerator was dirty. The beds were not even made, and there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. I asked for some and she got upset about it.

My mom does not drive and is disabled. The room they had for me was upstairs, with no elevator. Basically, it's not handicap accessible at all! I have never been treated so rudely by anyone in my life. I, personally, will never stay at a Super 8 motel again. In fact, at this time I should be reimbursed for my stay. It's Chanukah - we should be exchanging gifts and having dinner, and a lot of yummy desserts. I had to have Chinese food, which I hate very much. Let me just tell you that you can Google Wolters Kluwer online. My company has offices all over the United States, Europe, and all over the world. On Monday, I'm going to send an email blast to all Wolters Kluwer employees worldwide, informing them to never stay at a Super 8. All employees of Wolters Kluwer travel all the time. Mr. and Miss ** are the rudest people I have ever met. We are quiet Hispanic-Jewish family. They are prejudiced against Hispanics and Jews, I surely think so.

At a time that I should be spending with my family, listening to music, going to the synagogue and enjoying my time off from work, their alarm system went off several times. They are doing construction in the room next to mine. The noise level is just extremely disturbing, not letting me relax at all. I have a "Do not disturb" sign on my door, and Miss ** is trying to look into my room. She even stood by my door. I just want to relax and enjoy my holiday, but I'm scared to even go outside.

I got here on Saturday night after coming from my synagogue for the first menorah lighting. Mr. and Miss ** said that we need to leave today. I had paid him directly for two days - Saturday and Sunday. My check out is on Monday, not Sunday. That was what Mr. ** told me - that I needed to leave today. They are not making any sense.

I'm scared to leave my room; it feels like I'm in jail. Every time I go outside, I have to hear them talk bad about me or asking me about money. Do they think I'm poor and homeless? My credit card went through. Let's just say I'm in higher management at Wolters Kluwer here in Houston, Texas, dressed down for my religious holiday and on PTO.

They are not evening computing with each other. I can tell I paid him, and she attacked me about the extra money for my mom staying here. Also, the toilet got clogged up, and I had to personally plunge the bathroom. What kind of service is this? My mom almost fell down the stairs because the floor was wet. I couldn't even walk to the office because the 3 gentlemen doing the construction are in the way. I almost forgot, I had asked for extra pillows and blankets and I was denied even that. Sorry, but it was too cold in the room for me and my poor mother, who took a late flight into the Houston, Texas hobby airport. Once again, she is 69 years old, from Florida, and not used to being cold.

I'm totally disgusted with the service here. Even the maid overheard when she attacked me about the money and said that one of us needed to leave today. She happened to speak Spanish. I would like to inform you that I'm Cuban and speak Spanish perfectly. She told me that she was crazy, and even expressed herself by a crazy gesture. I am fed up! This is the end! I will be checking out on Monday at 6:30 AM and I plan to never come back. I'm not even going to the office to check out; I will be leaving the card keys in the room - which, I forgot to say, are not working. They have turned them off; it does not let me in the room. They have deactivated the key card.

I think a two-day stay is a one-day stay in their minds. Personally speaking, they are more focused on the construction of the hotel. Also, I would like to inform you they could be providing me with the best customer service possible. There are a total of 8 rooms occupied currently in this Super 8. I will be going outside to smoke now with my cell phone voice memo on and with my iPad on, as well. Thank you, Apple! All I'm asking for is a full refund for my stay here.

I just had a chance to speak to one of the maids and had her recorded on my cell phone. I will gladly send you the recording. She informed me that Miss ** told her that because of her being late today, she is not even going to pay her. Also, they do not have extra towels and blankets; they can only put one little bar of soap and one really small bottle of shampoo in the bathroom. She told me that she is like with all Hispanic people. If you would like a copy of the recording, let me know. I emailed it to myself. It is unethical and inhumane to treat someone like that, period!

I have taken pictures of the room when we checked in, and will, also, when we check out. I will gladly send you the pictures and recording upon your request. Also, I will be taking pictures of the construction.

Our first "stay" was in Omaha, Nebraska. I swear! The mattress was shaped like a V which caused my wife and me to roll to the center. The room smelled of mold which was found around the windows (which looked as if they hadn't been cleaned forever!). Working our way westward across the country, we stayed at other Super 8s. The service after Omaha onward was excellent. The rooms were clean, but the beds were "hard as a rock." In the Ft. Collins, CO. Super 8, the wall-heater constantly came on and then off throughout the night, prohibiting decent sleep. It would get hotter then(!) and a couple of minutes later shut off. Then the routine would start all over again and again and again.

With the exception of Super 8 in Alamosa, CO, we discovered we had been charged in each motel for the use of a safe which we never did use. I discovered this after payment and I protested the charge. I was told that by signing at the bottom of the registration form this was "warranted'" by them to do. I asked for a credit to my account which upon each occasion they assured was done. I have yet to see the credit! In Alamosa, CO, the bed was "hard as a rock" but the room & the motel itself was by far the cleanest and the service exemplary! Upfront, I told them I did not want a "safe charge!" They assured me that it was not their policy to ever charge in this manner and they did not! Even though the Alamosa, CO experience was quite good, the other experiences were bad enough that I very much doubt that we will ever choose Super 8 again.

When we checked in (October 4th), the room smelled like smoke. One of the guests from our room went to the front desk to ask if there was something we could use to help with the smell. We were given a spray bottle (marked "freshener" - we took a picture of it), & began spraying all around the room. Right away, the smell of bleach became very intense. Within moments, a brand new ($120) pair of shoes & several blouses began showing white spots! Upon complaining to the shift manager, all we got was an, "I'm sorry, I'll tell the girl who gave you the spray." I asked, "That's it!?" He said,"I'll tell her. Sorry." We were not even offered the room for free (which wouldn't have begun to cover the damage anyway!) I filled out a complaint online upon our return home, still no answer. I don't feel we were properly compensated for our damages.

Aware we had a 4 pound Chihuahua, he did not charge us anything but $800.00 for the month! Their sign fell a week prior landing in a semi. They were aware the sign was down! They had no barriers around the sign. It was pitch black because their parking lot lights were out! We hit it in our car because we couldn’t see it.

We called the manager the next morning and told him we hit the poll. He said I’m not paying for your car! So today, my father told the owner we are going to sue them over our car! So then the manager here today finds a legal, lying way to throw us out and not return any of our money! He said we hid our dog. The man was aware we had it when we checked in. I have stayed at the Super 8 motel in Boone, NC for the past 5 years every October for one week for my daughter's birthday. We have never had an issue until this year. We arrived on Sunday after booking online, a month in advance, as I always do. We requested a smoking room on the bottom floor, again as I always do. At check-in, I was told there were no smoking rooms available but since I had booked one well in advance, they were just going to put me in a non-smoking room and it would be okay to smoke in it. Since we were a party of four with only one smoker, I knew smoking wasn't a huge issue for us since we would be out most of the day, so we agreed.

I noticed on our stay that the hotel was very light. It was just only our family and maybe 5 or 6 other guests the entire time. So it seemed odd that all the smoking rooms were rented out. But it's kind of one of those things you just think about then let go, you know. On Thursday night, we noticed that sometimes while we were out for the day, someone had come in our room and screwed our window shut. Since we were due to leave the next day and it was very late, I decided to ask about it at checkout and we went on to bed. On Friday morning, I awoke and checked my bank statement (as I do every morning) and I found a charge for $250.00 to my debit card from Super 8 of Boone. I was charged for my complete stay when I checked in and this was a separate charge.

I went down to the front desk to inquire about the charge and got the same person who checked me in. He told me it is a "cleaning charge" for smoking in a non-smoking room. To say the least, I am speechless and livid at the same time. I immediately asked for the manager, who is not available. I was told by him that I am a liar and that he would never say we could smoke in a non-smoking room and he refused to refund my money. I have called repeatedly to speak to the manager about this with no response. I have called the corporate office of Super 8 and have been told that the Boone location has to be the one to refund those types of charges.

I know I have been scammed, I have no doubt of it. There is no other explanation or reason for them to do this. I have contacted the BBB and I am posting my story everywhere I possibly can to try to avoid this happening to anyone ever again. I have read complaints about Super 8 all over online and a lot of them say that the non-smoking rooms smell of smoke and I feel that this scam explains why that may be. Please be careful if you must stay here! I know I never will again. Good luck.

When the guy ** answered the phone, I told him what I was trying to do. He asked my name. I told him. He said, "Are you the guy that had that altercation, that was here bothering people and was thrown out from here." I'm like what? I have no idea what you mean. I never had trouble at no motels of any kind, much less, thrown out of any. He refused to listen and even hung up after I asked who was his higher up, which is my federal legal right.

After a while, he did not answer. Then a girl named ** came on the phone and I explained this to her. She stated that since he was her boss, she could not do anything about it. What was worse, they got a St. Mary's county officer on the phone who backed them. The officer said, "They can refuse whoever they want, when they want." Not the law I recall. You had to have proper justification. As a man who ministers for the Lord, I say, "The Devil is a liar!" and ** (general manager) should be fired along with the other lady as well for backing such bad practices.

You never refuse services to a man for action (even he) do not know anything about. Matter of fact, I ministered to several people there and I was told by the cleaning people that I kept one of the cleanest rooms in the whole place. I told them, "God will deal with you." This location is on 235 South near the Naval Base in St Mary's county MD. The bible said, "Do not turn away people in the time of need." You can tell they did not care.

I'm writing you in regards to the Super 8 Motel located on 557 Warrenton Road, in Fredericksburg, Virginia 22406. After spending the prior week at a conference in Washington, DC, I started my trip back home to North Carolina in the afternoon hours of September 28th of this year. This proved to be a disastrous mistake as I found myself quickly in gridlocked traffic during a severe rain storm. After many hours of stop and go traffic, my wife and I decided to pull off the road for the evening at the above mentioned motel.

Unfortunately, what we found was not to be what we have been used to over the years. Immediately I was met with an unpleasant odor. Trust me, I expect that to a degree because I always request a smoking room. Regardless, this odor was not simply of cigarette smoke in the air. I did not expect a dirty carpet with cigarette ashes still on the floor along with numerous stains. My wife was in need of utilizing the bathroom and it was discovered that the toilet was not functioning. I was able to fix the problem with the float myself but it will have to be repaired professionally as this was a temporary solution.

While I was there, I noticed how incredibly dirty the tub and shower was as well as the fact that the toilet paper holder was damaged also. Then while washing my hands after the toilet repair, it was brought to my attention that the light fixture above the vanity was hanging on the wall in disrepair. The TV did in fact work but the lights above the bed were once again simply hanging there as if someone had repaired them to simply operate. Wires were in fact visible. At this time, I was ready to leave for the night but after hours of being on the road and after already unloading the luggage, my wife convinced me that we should just stay and put up with the substandard conditions. After a short evening of sleep, my wife and I arose early to discover that not only did the coffee maker not work but the hairdryer was not operational either.

After I refused to shave or shower in that room, I told my wife to check out as I loaded the car. It was at that time in the daylight that I discovered piles of discarded furniture stacked along the back walls of the motel near the stairwell. My wife had stated that she was going to complain about the worst Motel 8 we have ever stayed in. However, I told her not to give a hard time to the desk clerk because this was obviously a management problem. It took my wife considerable time to return to the car. When she did return, I said that I did not want her to complain at that time. She informed me that she had said nothing but the person in front of her at the counter had, in fact, complained because they too had appliances in their room that did not operate. We have sent letter of complaints to Super 8 Corporate Office, but I will never stay in a Motel 8 again!

Although the management boasted the limited remodeling consisting of new carpeting and supposed air conditioners, the rest of the room was very dated and dirty. The air conditioner in our room didn't work and they had to repair or replace it while we were out. The bathroom ceiling tiles are all stained from second floor leakage and the bathroom door is damaged and won't even close properly. The bathroom floor is dirty in the corners and around the base of the toilet. The sink faucet is on so crooked that every time it is turned on, the water flow gets all over the counter under the faucet spout. The continental breakfast is a joke. There is one table with four chairs and the entire area is dirty and unkempt.

The orange juice dispenser had a gummy substance coming out of the spout and on two occasions, I saw where someone had poured a cup and left it because the juice was discolored and thick. The small containers of jelly or jam were so old that the jelly inside had solidified and was inedible. Unfortunately, we were on a house hunting trip and we initially signed up and paid to stay for a month, which we later changed and left after two weeks. Every time we went in for the continental breakfast, we had to ask for milk because the container was always empty. The waffle mixture at times had separated and appeared to be old, resulting in not being able to eat waffles.

The smell of mold in the bathroom in the area of the shower curtain was so bad we bought a bottle of Clorox and tried to get rid of the smell. When I checked in on September 21st, I asked if our room would be cleaned daily, bed changed and supplied with clean towels. The manager told me in order to get the bed changed and room vacuumed daily, I would have to pay an extra $1 per day in cash to housekeeping; otherwise, it wouldn't be done daily and we would have to change our own sheets and make the bed every other day. So, I paid $30 cash, in addition to the room charge to get this daily service.

I had a pickup truck full of personal belongs that I had moved up from FL and asked the management if I could park it under the covered entrance during a heavy rainstorm. Initially, they told me no and then said I could during the heavy rain. It started raining hard about 3PM and when I tried to park it under the entrance way, leaving plenty of room for other cars to drive under, they told me I could only leave it there for 15-20 minutes. Again, it was pouring rain and they were not busy at all. In fact, they really never had much business until Fridays and Saturdays and this was late on a Sunday afternoon. Consequently, my personal items got soaked during the heavy rains that afternoon and night. Overall, I am 100% dissatisfied and will never stay at another Super 8 again.

For those of us taking service animals when traveling, it is not a choice, but a necessity and a right. He also claimed that I could not take my service dogs anywhere other than my room and outside. Service dogs can go anywhere I go, period. Someone needs to get with Super 8 policies and procedures and straighten them out on ADA and service animals. And I want a refund of my money as I do not have pets.

Also, he demanded to see "disability I.D." for the animals, which is also against ADA. ADA does not require any service animal to have papers, cards, designations, vests, collars or leashes that call attention to them as service animals. At that point, I told him to go look on the Internet and see if he could register his rat as a service animal. There are sites that will issue "cards" for any animal for a big fee. Yeah, right.

We have stayed in other Super 8s and were satisfied with cleanliness and were quiet and restful. So, we chose this motel out of a group where we had our choice, much to our disappointment. It was not clean. I checked for bed bugs and there were no signs, not filthy. Just dirty corners, floors were obviously not cleaned; we did not go barefoot. Then when I was washing my hands, water came down on my feet. The whole pipe was moved from the goose neck, so we couldn't see how the sink had been cleaned or they would have gotten wet also. My husband moved it over, so it didn't leak as bad. We were extremely tired and just decided to stay.

Then around 3:00, the room just above us sounded like they were dribbling bowling balls and they stomped when walking. We can only think they kept dropping their suitcases and beer coolers until after 4:00. We had complained to the front desk at 3:30 and they said they would take care of it. They did not. My husband is almost deaf when his ear phones are on the nightstand, but it kept him awake, and I wear ear plugs, but it was loud so the ear plugs were useless.

The next morning at checkout, the man at the desk asked how we were. We told him that if we would have been able to sleep, we would be better. We were not sarcastic. He just said, "Oh, there was a football game." And we asked if we had to pay without sleep because of a football game. It is the home of the Chiefs, so that happens often. However, this was several miles from the game, so we think that was just an excuse. The Chiefs don't have enough out-of-towners to make people stay that far away. He just shook his head.

So this will be our last stay at a Super 8 and we travel extensively, usually pay in cash and clean up after ourselves. I have a close friend who is pretty high up with Expedia and she has been told about this motel. I am also putting it on Motel.com and to my friends on Facebook, and anywhere else I can make people aware. This is not up to par and in a city like Overland Park, we had no qualms when we rented, but now we know to not trust the franchise. When they are run by unclean people, the franchise needs to be more selective and more on top of it. As retired business people, we know what it takes to make the public happy. This is not it! This Super 8 is located at 10750 Barkley Street, Overland Park, KS 66211, on the night of September 8, 2012.

I stayed at the Super 8 in Remington, Indiana and my card was charged twice. I was there on 8/3/12 and 8/4/12. I did not check in with my card on Friday the 3rd, it was an open account. I used my card on Saturday the 4th to pay for the 4th, only they were paid with my card but were only authorized to charge for the 4th. The open account was paid by cash, but they still charged my account anyway. There was also another charge on there, which no one could eradicate for. The paperwork was sent from me on the 8th of August to the MasterCard. They have said I have a refund on the 16th and the 20th. Please make sure they'll reply.

In calling the Wauwatosa, WI Super 8, the answering machine says, "Welcome to our newly renovated Super 8." Really, I think they forgot our room. The cleaning people do not know what a dust rag is. There was dust on lamps and headboards, cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling. Dresser drawers were missing, as were a couple of light bulbs. Carpeting was so disgusting you did not want to walk barefoot. Okay, we can overlook a couple of things. In returning to our room after a day at the fair, our room door was ajar. We had left our travel bags zipped shut with everything in them and stowed away on the luggage rack and the desk top.

Our luggage had been gone through, even our dirty clothes that were in a separate bag. The only things missing were a necklace and earrings which were in a cloth bag and stuffed in between a couple pairs of blue jeans. Then our clothes were shoved back in our suitcase and left unzipped. We called the cops. Of course, I do not expect to get these items back but come on, it's not like our things were left open. I am trying to reach the manager and find out what is being done. Obviously, I will never stay there again and will be checking Super 8s better before staying in one again. I suggest if you want to go to a Brewer game, do not stay at this Super 8!

We checked in to this hotel on Friday, Aug 3, 2012. We asked for a ground floor if possible because we had another couple with us who had knee problems. After opening the door to the room, it stunk of musty smell as well as had sticky spots on the carpet. Then when we used the bathroom, we noticed black mold on the wall. There was no fan in the bathroom and the vent looked like it had never been cleaned. When the other couple pulled back the sheets, they found them with 2 dirty spots on them. We had been riding a motorcycle since early morning and we were very tired. The next morning, we observed one of the cleaning ladies with a cigarette in her mouth while cleaning one of the other rooms next to us. There was coffee on her cart, in which we did not even have a coffee pot in our room. Then upon check out, my wife had to use restroom down the hall from the counter and no toilet paper was in either stall. We're very disappointed with the hotel as well as the dirty rooms. They were very dirty and we would never stay at one of these again. Thank you!

I'm a retired school teacher who rarely travels and isn't "sophisticated" as to the ways of the corporate world. I was taken by a scam I think Super 8 Motel is doing. A couple of nights ago, my wife and I stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Baton Rouge, LA. I was never asked if I preferred smoking or non-smoking. Restaurants used to ask this, so I expected Super 8 to follow their lead. We entered the musky room that was dimly illuminated on the outside. We smoked and used a paper cup with water in it for an ashtray. We probably each smoked two or three cigarettes, used the toilet with the broken plastic seat (that I reported on check-out), watched an hour and a half of TV on their broken TV set, went to sleep, made coffee the next morning and left.

As we were pulling out of our parking space, I spotted an obscure, badly faded no smoking sign under our room's window. I could have returned to the room and emptied the room's trash can with the cigarette butts. I could have left the room's door wide open. I could have borrowed the maid’s can of air freshener. But I was resentful they hadn't even asked me what kind of room we preferred, so I left it as is.

An hour later, I got the call that we were being charged $150 for "smoke damage." Seriously? The manager said it is company policy to not even ask the customer what he/she prefers. So they stick customers who smoke in non-smoking rooms. I promise this is true: their sign is very difficult to make out in their dim night lighting. My wife and I never saw it. The manager said there was another small sign on the room's door under the peephole. Again, we never saw this sign. Ever! If we had, we would have gotten another room! Duh!

So, every smoker smokes and gets billed an additional $150. Are you smelling something besides cigarette smoke here like I am? I'm smelling a scam. This company doesn't want you to choose a smoking room. They're making too much off this scam! Yes, I wrote the headquarters requesting clarification of this insane policy and a refund. Do you think I'll ever get either? What we've learned: you get what you pay for. We'll pay an extra $20 for a morally responsible service. Next time I will insist on a smoking room. And obviously, we'll never stay at a Super 8 Motel!

We reserved a room on August 1, 2012 at the Super 8 in Great Falls, Montana. We reserved 2 rooms with 1 queen bed in each room, non-smoking. The Motel from the outside looked dirty and run down and the lobby didn't look much better. Out in the back where we came in, there was trash all over and the carpet was ripped across the tops of the stairs, a real tripping hazard. The receptionist was not friendly. She gave us our keys and we went to the assigned rooms. We opened the door to the first room and noticed that the curtains were coming off the curtain rod. The room smelled and was run down and filthy.

We went to the next room hoping it would be better. The curtains were only coming off the rod in one place, but as I was looking around, I noticed the tub in the shower was black and you could see footprints. There was a ring of mold all around the bathtub and the floor was sticky. I scrubbed the floor and the towel was black. There was no stopper in the sink. The edge all around the room was greyish white where it had not been vacuumed in a very long time. The lampshades were broken and stained, the remote to the TV didn't work. The bedspread was ripped and stained, the recliner was ripped, cat clawed, and dirty. The AC cover was dirty, the windowsills were gross. The sheets were suspect and the blanket was so gross I wouldn't even touch it.

We had to wear flip flops in the room and in the shower because they were so dirty. Of course they were sold out and there were no cancellations and no refunds and no other rooms, What a racket! They take your money and don't deliver what they supposedly offered. Isn't that fraud? We went to the store and bought pillows, sheets, and blankets, came back to the room and changed everything. I would never stay at another Super 8 as long as I live. I would rather sleep in my car. There should be an agency that follows up on all the complaints that Super 8 gets.

I want my money back, but I am getting that that probably won't happen, and that is just wrong. For all the extra money we had to spend to get clean linens, we could have stayed in an upscale motel and saved ourselves the stress of having to deal with such a disaster! Super 8 is on my list of places never to stay again, and I will make it my mission to let everyone know what a disaster these motels are, and they aren't cheap (I documented everything that was wrong in the room with photos)!

Do you have enough space (for my complaint)? We stayed at room 1159. The TV snowed so we moved to 1155. I should have gotten my money back! The TV only had half the amount of snow. The lounge chair was broken, which should be thrown in the garbage. The microwave and the coffee maker were broken. I left at 8am and returned 11pm and the room wasn't cleaned and all dirty towels were still on floor. Sadly, the maid was new. If this was not enough, here is the reason we will never go to this hell hole again. The pipe to the hot water is so hot that as soon as you turn the knob, you have to have a towel to turn it off. My dad has no feeling in his hands so he would not know he was getting burned unless someone had taken a shower first. I told the manager someone was going to get burned but he didn't have much of a response. This was scalding water, as soon as you turn the knob. They really have a big problem that should have been addressed already. This motel is located at 152 Eisenhower Drive Commerce, GA. We're not ever going to forget the motel from hell and never going there again!

Complained that the room had a very strong, musty smell. The manager said they had rain 2 nights ago and had humidity. I booked with Expedia and the manager from the hotel said I could leave and he would just wipe out the record like we had never been there and I would have to contact Expedia for refund. After a conversation with Expedia, they contacted the hotel and the manager said he wanted $200 for a hole in the wall that was behind the door from the door knob. There were 4 of us to stay in the room and the hole was in there when we got there as my 12-year-old had pointed it out to me. I will be contacting the Chamber of Commerce in Ankeny, IA where we were at to let them know of this fraud. The hotel manager said that when I leave, he would rent the room for more money than what he could get from Expedia.

I didn't have a pet, and he knows this. I think he is stealing and hoping to get away with it.

I stayed at the Super 8 in Henderson, KY. It was supposed to be 2 nights. The second day I was getting ready for a wake for my brother. I used the toilet, went to wash my hands and there was no water. I called the front desk and they said the water would be off for a while. I explained that I would like to shower (I have to now notify the front desk when I’ll be in my room to shower). I asked for another room. The front desk offered me another place to shower, not another room.

I asked for a refund and because it was Priceline, that I would have to contact them. I contacted Priceline and they talked to Super 8 denying a refund. It appears that Super 8 offers bed, bath, pool, weight room, but doesn’t and can't provide the service they claim to offer. I checked out and ended up at Sleep Inn and got what they offered. I feel that the owner of Super 8 and their association with any corporation are only interested in a dollar, not customer satisfaction. By refusing a refund, they committed fraud by not honoring their end of the contract. Be careful of potential theft of funds by their bait and switch practices.

I stayed at the Super 8 from July 9 through the 13th. I knew going in this was not a 5-star hotel but I expected it to be clean. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. This hotel was located on Warm Springs Rd in Columbus, Georgia. I got there and first off, even though I had reserved a smoking room, there was no ashtray plus the room accommodated four people but only two sets of towels so I had to go retrieve these items. We made our beds before leaving for activities at Fort Benning and when we came back, one of the beds and the bedding were turned back. Not sure what the purpose of this was. They never emptied the garbage or vacuumed the floors and took the dirty towels but never left the same amount of clean ones. We constantly had to hunt someone down to get more towels. Not sure why they even came in the room if they weren't there to clean. There were doors busted in and was basically a dive. I wish I would have just got a refund and went elsewhere. I couldn't believe that a Super 8 would be in that condition.

I made a reservation to stay at the Super 8 in Powell, Wyoming for July 25, 2012. I arrived, entered the front desk area and almost turned around and left. It was absolutely filthy. The floors have not been cleaned ever, I am sure. There is no place to park to enter the front desk area. They had a grill going in the drive-in area with two creeps cooking something! I checked in because I was dead tired. I parked my car as near to the one entrance door. It was not marked and it was not explained how to get in the damn thing! I had to walk back up to the front desk to ask. I walked back to the one door and finally got it opened. The door itself was filthy and so was the surrounding area outside the door. Trash everywhere!

I walked in and was absolutely shocked at the filth on the carpets in the halls and up the stairs. They too had not been swept in a very long time! They were stained and there was trash up and down the hall. I got into my room and once again, was appalled at the condition! The pillowcases were dirty and the bedspread stunk to high heaven. The carpet was filthy and I wouldn't even consider standing on it without shoes! It was stained as well. So, I went into the bathroom and there was no toilet paper, no Kleenex either! The lighting is very bad. The small cheap lamp on the credenza had the light bulb sticking out of the top of the lampshade! Tacky, tacky, tacky!

The worst part of it all is that I paid over $100 for this filth pit! Believe me, I will never ever stay at one of your hotels again and I do intend to share my experience with my many friends who travel! This was a complete ripoff of my money! You should be ashamed that you are even conducting business at this hotel. This place needs to be shut down and completely renovated! Somebody from your corporate office better get off the pot and get this handled because it's not going to take long for dissatisfied folks to destroy your reputation!

Super 8 motel, National City, CA (near the Naval Base) - First off, I would like you all to know that this motel does not have a jacuzzi. I asked the attendant on the phone if it was working and she said yes. When I checked in, I did not see the pool or jacuzzi. I asked the attendant about them and she told me where the pool was and said the jacuzzi was not working. I told her the attendant who took my reservation said it was working, then this woman told me "Oh, they just shut it down." I took pictures of the jacuzzi, it has a cement lid poured over it with a patio table and chairs enjoying it! So on to the rest. I called 4 weeks in advance and reserved 2 rooms with the front desk woman attendant, both rooms on bottom floor (one person in our party just had surgery), non-smoking and a pet in one room and double beds in the other room.

When we arrived to check in, the attendant only showed me booking "online" one room/one bed and she informed me the reservation was cancelled because my credit card was denied! I informed her I never reserved a room online and that's maybe why the order got cancelled - no credit card was entered! After a very long time of her non-help whatsoever, I found my confirmation number. Then, she was able to locate my actual reservation. She informed me it was in a different place. If we did not show up when we did, the rooms would have been gone. On that reservation, she did show me getting 2 rooms, but with only one bed per room! I was very upset because we had 6 people needing to sleep!

Finally, the actual woman who took my reservation came into work and she remembered my reservation because of the silly conversation we had. She could not explain why it came out with only one bed per room, then the other woman attendant just left. So, I had to basically "start over" with where we left off with the new attendant. The first attendant refused to call the manager because they were "off" that day and she would not shift anyone around to accommodate what I had reserved so far in advance! We left the motel to find another place to stay and I told them to keep the reservation just in case. Every hotel and motel we went to and called on were all sold out! We were gone for about an hour and we ended up back at this Super 8, with 2 single rooms on the second floor.

The one pet room smelled horrible because it was a smoking room too! No deodorizer was used to freshen the room, not even leaving the window open. This motel did not have any rollaways or extra mattresses, and we ended up using extra blankets/sheets to make another bed on the floor in front of the door! The first attendant had no regard to the fact of what type of room, etc. we reserved! The second attendant did apologize and gave us a small break for the pet fee for some of our trouble and it turned out right after we checked out. The manager told her to bill my credit card for the pet fee because she did not have the authority to remove it!

After quite a few phone calls to the motel the next day and hearing "Sorry about that, there is nothing we can do," I informed her I would call corporate that next day and let them know that my credit card was fraudulently charged without my okay for something that was removed at check-in. I received a call that evening notifying me my card would be credited back that pet fee. No one in our party will ever stay at this Super 8 National City again and I doubt anyone will ever stay at any Super 8 motels from now on!

I stopped at the Santee, SC Super 8 Motel on Sunday, July 8, 2012, to spend one night. It wasn't a planned stop, but I was too tired to continue my trip. The woman at the desk was so unfriendly that I almost left the hotel, but I just didn't have the energy. The next morning, when I was checking out of the hotel, I asked for a print out receipt showing my AAA discount on the receipt for business reason. The general manager was at the front desk, and he asked me, "Didn't she give you a receipt last night?" I said yes, but it wasn't a computer printout receipt, with a letterhead. It was hand written, and it did not show the information I needed to turn in to my company. The general manager told me he had already checked me out of the hotel and he would have to check me back into the hotel in order to get a computer printout receipt.

So, after waiting 30 long minutes for the computer to come up for him to do this, I still don't have the proper information on the receipt showing my AAA discount. Then he had offered to write the information by hand on the receipt. My company would not have accepted that receipt and would have thought it was fraud. I have stayed at many Super 8 Motels before, but I will never stay at this one again, and I will also tell all my family and friends to stay out of Super 8 Motels, especially the one in Santee, SC. I go through twice a year on business and personal trips to visit friends. I want the Wyndham company to know the kind of treatment their customers are getting.

We had reservations for 3 nights at the Super 8 in Charlotte, NC located on Equipment Drive. We had to leave after one night. We had plans that day in Charlotte, so we checked in at the office, but did not go into our room until later that evening. When we returned about 9PM, we found our room to be awful! We had reserved a non-smoking room and this obviously was a smoking room. The smell was terrible. The bathroom door would only open halfway (it was dragging on the floor), so we had to turn sideways to enter the bathroom. The bathroom was filthy and the towels looked like used rags. The toilet would not flush, missing parts inside the tank. I had to reach into the tank to pull the flap so the toilet would flush.

The room was not clean, the electrical outlets had layers of dirt and grime on them. There were a few light bulbs that were burned out. The drawers on the dresser were broken and could not be used. The window did not lock properly. The TV had a hole in the size of my fist, we could have reached down inside the TV! Normally, I would have gone to the desk to complain, but I was scared to leave the room. The parking lot was filled with gangs of creepy looking people and hired security guards. My daughters and I stayed in the room and checked out very early the next morning. Oh and I almost forgot, when I was checking in, the lady at the front desk was using the F word very frequently! I am in the process of trying to get a refund for the two nights we didn't stay.

So, I killed what I could, saved them in a bag, gave them to Jason, the asst. manager. I was told this would be taken care of the following day when the manager was there. She was not there. She never returned my voice mail. I called the corporate office and filed a complaint. I called 4 times.

I want my money back. The room was littered with live and dead bugs in all the corners and against the walls. I took over 30 pictures and video of this. The following morning, I awoke with pus coming out of my right eye and it became very red. Bugs carry bacteria, virus, and more. They have done nothing to make this right. It is unacceptable, unprofessional, disgusting and for that rate, I could have had a different hotel. I want a full refund and some kind of compensation before I take legal action.

The person at the front desk first gave me a room that was full of smoke and the room looked like someone just slept in the bed. When I asked for another room, the person at the front desk gave me the keys. When I went to the room, someone was already sleeping in the room and threatened me and my wife with a weapon. When I returned to the front desk again, the woman offered me two more room keys and told me to check to see if someone was in there. I said no and told her to check them.

The housekeeper returned and said someone was in both rooms. Finally, the front desk told me they had one last room available but that it wasn't clean but they could give me clean sheets if I wanted to make the bed myself. They would still charge me the full rate. After that, I asked for my money back and left the hotel. A few days later, I noticed on my credit card that the Super 8 Hotel re-charged my credit card again for $91.00. I had to dispute the charge on my credit card.
