They are about the only airline that allows free check in bags and no penalty for changing or canceling reservations. They now provide non-stop flights out of my city's airport... What else can I ask for. I mostly travel to Dallas from Ontario so I am extremely pleased.

Southwest is very customer friendly. The whole experience is why I keep going back; I love the way the seats are allocated. No 1st class no low class. A real class airline, I was very familiar with US Air being from Pittsburgh, the service attitude and crew attendants were rude, tired and old. Southwest is a happy vibrant experience.

Every time I've been on a SW flight I've received friendly customer service at the check in counters, the boarding counter as well as the flight crew. The aircrafts are spacious. The menu has your basic options to get your from A to B. Their flight options are also reasonable for those of you that don't mind their boarding system. It's a little unorthodox however... you're saving money so sit back, fasten your seatbelt and let them entertain you. Thank you SW for always providing your customers with friendly service!

The package deal (hotel /airfare) I had was great and very inclusive which I liked. The boarding process is not my favorite. I am a senior and was traveling with a 7 year old and unless I paid $15 per person to board early, I was at the mercy of finding seats. On our outgoing flight, my granddaughter had to sit between strangers, which is daunting to a 7 year old. I paid the extra money for us to sit together coming back.

Hello, I boarded my flight Monday afternoon via Southwest Airlines and was seated and had my bags in front of me and the seatbelt on ready for take-off. Well that didn't take place because I had two people tell me I had to get off the plane and wouldn't explain to me why until I was off the aircraft. Then they had the nerve to tell me I "appeared" to be intoxicated, according to who I ask? No response, I had a beer with my lunch while waiting for my flight. In no way shape or form does a beer make you intoxicated, I've flown before I know the rules etc and this was far a work trip, well since I was kicked off I now lost my job. So a big shout out to Southwest Airlines, for ruining my life! I will never, I mean never fly with you again, and neither will anyone I tell because this experience will be public!

Since I did not leave the plane, flight attendants Gabriel ** and Stephanie ** was so friendly. Gabriel had a comical approach when using PA and made us smile. I was amazed he's only been flying 4 months! These two are an asset to your airline. Captain Trent ** and his Co Jay ** was also very friendly. I even got to take a picture in the cockpit. This entire experience made my flight an easy and very pleasant one. I hope these 4 great people will know I sent this review in. Our SW flight continued to be delayed and then eventually CANCELLED! MY BROTHER-IN-LAW'S flight took off and landed in Dallas then on to Ark without any issues!!! We were told there was nothing SW could do but book us on a flight (connection) the next morning (with a 3-hour layover in AUSTIN).

They said they would NOT reimburse us for the hotel. I would like to note that we also lost a full day's PAY for missing work on Monday. The next morning our flight to Austin was delayed, then we were told that our flight from Austin to DFW was delayed!!! When we eventually landed in Austin, we rented a car and drove home. SW REFUSED to Reimburse us for our hotel and/or our rental car!!! I am advising you... DO NOT FLY SOUTHWEST... It is worth spending a few extra dollars to fly AMERICAN!!!

The original flight of July 1, From PHL to STL (MIUODJ) was cancelled last minute and I was assigned to a very inconvenient flight for the next day without being consulted, July 2 that would take me home in 8 hours with 2 stops, instead of the original flight (2 hours the day before.) I cancelled that and had to buy an additional ticket from another airline so I can meet my responsibilities. I was promised a refund of ~ $188. That never happened either.

I called today and an agent claimed she would enter it today manually (7/31/2017). In the meantime all your agents in unison did successfully was to apologize profusely as they were trained to do. This trip with Southwest thanks to the poor service and unfulfilled promises cost me to arrive home a day late and ~$1000.00 and I have not been refunded in a timely manner either. By the way, I wanted to call for this complaint and the wait on line was 48 minutes. That is unacceptable as well. July 31 2017.

Almost two weeks ago I had a need to fly from Orange County, CA to Oakland, CA to attend a business meeting that same day. I had purchased a Business Select ticket from Southwest on their 9:10 am flight. I typically choose to the Business Select ticket to ensure I am able to board the flight earlier and secure an aisle seat near the front of the plane. For this flight I had secured the A1 boarding spot (that would be the first to board). As I am moving through TSA at approx. 8:00 am a colleague calls me to tell me he is at the gate for our flight and notices that Southwest cancelled the flight. We had received no telephone call, no text, no alert that this had happened. Southwest simply did not bother to communicate it to the passengers of this flight.

Two gates down from our cancelled flight was the earlier Southwest flight (8:10 departure) to Oakland which had already boarded. My colleague and I ran to the gate to attempt to board this flight. Fortunately there were seats available in the back of the plane in middle seats. My Business Select ticket purchase strategy was now somewhat useless as I was the unhappy recipient of row twenty-something, middle seat. I naturally assumed that since Southwest cancelled my flight and I was unable to take advantage of the primary Business Select ticket benefit, early boarding, that Southwest would reimburse me for the difference in cost between a Business Select ticket and a standard ticket for this leg of the trip.

I attempted to get assistance for this reimbursement matter once we arrived in Oakland at the gate. They could not help and sent me to the ticket counter. They could not help me and told me to call the Southwest reservations number. They could not help and told me to call the Customer Service number. Here I was informed that the wait was more than two hours and I should try to utilize the Customer Service E-Mail alternative. I chose to utilize the E-Mail alternative which, per their system informed me that a response would take up to 48 hours. Seven days later I still had not received a reply. I finally called a help number and waited until I received a customer service representative. The representative had to find my case and proceeded to let me know that they were busy and had not begun to research my case. I told her I had time and would wait as she read my email submission.

Once she read my description of the issue she quickly proceed to tell me that I was not entitled to a reimbursement. In spite of not receiving early boarding, she informed me that I still received advantages from the Business Select ticket because they were kind enough to let me on the earlier flight at no increase in price and that I had received a free drink ticket. Needless to say, I was stunned. It was very clear from the words this customer service person chose, as well as her tone of voice, that she really did not care about me in the least. She was solely focused on saving Southwest Airlines a few bucks.

If I could avoid flying this Airline forever I would. Unfortunately I have no real choice but to fly with these jokers. This said, every opportunity I have to speak poorly about them, I will. Every opportunity I have to avoid them, I will. Every chance I have to find a way to extract my lost value from them, I will. I am just so, so disappointed in Southwest Airlines. It would have been simply for them to do the right thing and appropriate thing but instead they chose the short sighted decision to punch their customer in the nose. The entire situation makes my blood boil.

My husband and I booked the flight listed above on February 23rd, to attend our family reunion. We arrive at the airport two hours prior to this flight time only to receive an email at 10:21am (55 minutes before we are scheduled to start boarding) that the fight was cancelled due to the weather. My sister whose currently at BWI awaiting our arrival said it was sunny there. I called the hotel that we were booked to stay at and they also stated no rain in sight and that they had nothing but sunshine.

When I gave this info to the ticketing agent (while still holding the phone line for a SW agent to come to pick) I was then told the FAA cancelled the flight.. Then I decided to go online to southwest.com to see what was going on. I found our flight (2078) was scheduled to leave BWI at 2pm heading to Salt Lake City Utah... How is that? The very same flight number. It was due to arrive a little after 5pm... Interesting because for sure that doesn't just happen. It has to go through a process and people have to be manually placed on that flight.

Two totally different flight with the exact same flight number flying out in supposedly the same bad weather that kept us from flying into BWI. Now I know it wasn't weather related for sure because we had family at the BWI airport and at the hotel. Later a SW employee stated they had cancelled so many flights on Thursday (8/3) and didn't have enough crew to get caught up... And that SW failed to notify the customers in a timely manner. Southwest refused to engage or secure other flights for us on other airlines and being all out of options we headed home and missed our family reunion.

Now I think you should be held accountable for you actions because you clearly chose to lie about the situation instead of facing it head on and being honest with you customers. Your customer service was one of the worst I have ever experienced with an airline. You had a ticketing agent (Kiah) who stated oh she could deal with the attitudes because she was from NY... Really? What kind of customer service commenting is that? All she needed to do was her job nothing more nothing less.

So in a short time you manage to cancel 2078 from RDU-BWI and used that exact same flight number got an aircraft, crew and passengers assigned to leave BWI en route to Salt Lake City Utah.... Interesting... You failed to inform your customers in a timely manner, you failed in getting us assigned to other flights, you failed in getting us to our destinations and you FAILED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE! I know first hand it wasn't a weather related issue as it was told to us because I we had family at the BWI airport awaiting us as well as family in DC. Then SW conveniently changed the story to shift the blame to the FAA. Southwest commitment to Customer service is the worst I have ever seen.

I have flown with Southwest Airlines several times using group sale. May 2017 Southwest airlines Changed their policy for group sales. This has been a nightmare and I haven't even flown yet. My family and myself used group sales to book a trip to Orlando. First off they require a deposit of $50.00 per person $1,050 (this is not a problem.) When it come time to pay the final payment no one answers the phone. I called for 4 days straight to make my payment. With the final payment you have to pay the original payment in full and they hold your deposit until the final payment clears.

My party decreased by three people which is more than 10% of the party so they keep the $50 deposit for each of those person. Southwest use to apply the money to the balance which was nice. Back to submitting my final payment, which I finally emailed over to them and was told that area is behind so we don't know how long it would be before you received your deposit of $900 back. For me that a lot of money to be holding on to it. Took them almost two weeks to process the payment and another 8 days to get my deposit back into my checking account.

I received my confirmation and the group split up. I called and asked why and was told that they process it in part of 15, so not I have kids and parent on two different confirmation. I called and talk to Customer service and was pretty much told "oh well work it out at the airport." Since I have booked this trip, up until now I have had to call Southwest 10-15 times. The customer service has really going downhill along with their new policy in group booking. I won't be using group booking again.

I also like that if you are on a long flight you are able to watch a movie as well and it makes time move much faster, I'm sure most of us would like to start our vacation ASAP, so the faster the better! Maybe they could make the seats being more comfortable and better for long travel. Especially on long flights it is sometimes difficult to get comfortable.

I was hung up on by a Southwest agent on the phone after she cut me off while I was still speaking by talking loud and down to me. I had booked a flight for work travel (which I do regularly) and was returning after a night of no sleep and 6 hour meeting. My meeting ended early. I was booked on the 6:45pm back to Chicago from Tampa. I decided to go to an earlier flight's (4pm) departure gate (after clearing security) by 3pm. I was there at 3pm. I only had a small carry on. I knew (from the attendant down at luggage) that 18 seats were still open for the 4pm. At the gate, I politely asked (and smiled because I knew I was asking for customized service) if they would be willing to switch me to the earlier flight since I knew there were many seats open. The SW worker made no inquiries into my situation nor whether I was a RR member and said no. His response was that I can pay the difference ($320) and that's it.

On the verge of getting sick from lack of sleep and wanting to get home early for bed, I called an agent and asked the same. She said no, she would not do that, unless my flight was delayed. (Funny thing was just after the 4pm took off, my 6:45pm was delayed -- which made me hate Southwest even more.) I said that was not very much in line with the recording I just heard about SW not about wanting my money but wanting to deliver customer service. She said "you are trying to get a $320 ticket for free," and hung up on me.

I was horrified and humiliated -- to be accused of trying to steal, to be talked down to like a child and then to be hung up on. Those 18 seats were likely not to be sold 1 hour before a flight. (Also, my 6:45 flight was full and 1 empty seat may have been good.) SW had a chance, at $0 cost to them to give me a seat (I was already at the gate, mind you, with no luggage) that would make me a happy repeat customer. Instead, I will never fly Southwest again, no matter the cost. It is not about budget for flights anymore with all the horrible airline experiences out there. I would rather pay more and know I am giving my money to a company that actually treats people humanely.

Perhaps SW does not give authority to its workers to make individual choices on a case by case basis and use their minds to think what is best for the company. If someone would have just stopped to think about it: I doubt many people go through security, with no check in luggage, and try to "scam" the company for an earlier seat an hour before a flight. By treating everyone with policies that are not change-able based on circumstance, there is NO customer service. So from now on, when I fly for work (or leisure), I will NEVER choose to give money to Southwest again. I also told all the people in my row what happened on my 6:45 flight. Additionally, I will make sure to encourage others never to fly Southwest.

Good luck to you, Southwest. Customer service means dealing with things in a customized way, especially when it is no cost to you. You clearly do not know what true customer service means and should change your recordings for those waiting 15 minutes (which I did) to talk to a rep that hangs up on your customers.

I had to take Southwest Airlines last time and the overall experience is not so good for me. The seats are outdated and uncomfortable. There may be more routes and relatively a little bit lower fares than other airlines. But I would not recommend Southwest to anyone. I always check in online very early but I still couldn't get an early group boarding. I really hated its open seating policy. It's another way to raise the fares with forcing you to buy premium boarding. You have to buy a premium boarding pass otherwise you'll have to take a middle seat.

They dress nice, were not snobbish or impatient. I like the colors as well and the seats were very comfortable. But I didn't like sitting near some people. The people sitting next to me were too loud. They were too loud. Someone was snoring behind me so much. And I was trying to relax. And I was having trouble because of that person. Other than that, I had an enjoyable flight and would like to take this plane again.

The hostess were very helpful and accommodating when we needed something. I had an electric motorized cart to get around in and they made sure it got on the plane and took me in a wheelchair to next gate in terminal. Their seats were very crowded in passenger sections. Not enough restrooms for the size of the plane and amount of people on board, had to wait in line to use it. Then the aisles were narrow and hard to get around the people standing in line. Also flew to New Zealand. Smaller plane, not as crowded, more comfortable. Don't know the name of airline.

As a direct result of these policies I have chosen other carriers for my personal as well as for business trips.

For the most part have been close to or on time arrival and departures. I also applaud the CEO's efforts in maintaining or improving the organization's public image with deeply discounted trip cost with inconvenience of layovers in addition to repainting the entire airplane fleet with bright colors and a seemingly new logo on several places on each plane with the most notable on the undercarriage of the main part of the cabin area of the plane.

On 6/20/17 in Atlanta GA airport, I was in the Southwest Airlines wheelchair holding area. I'm a disabled vet and unable to walk the distance of the airport, due to my fibromyalgia. The airline was short with people to push those awaiting in the area. One couple was within 30 minutes of their flight leaving, so they had to go before me. I also suffer from anxiety, so now I have 40 minutes before my flight leaves, and I have to go through security. My heart began to beat fast. I asked the Southwest lady in charge of the holding area was anyone coming, because I wasn't going to make my flight. She was receiving no response on her hand radio and stated that she didn't know where everyone was and again that they were short of employees.

I was afraid now that I would miss My flight, so I had no choice but to try and get there myself. I was crying and my arms still ache. I literally had a panic attack in the Atlanta airport. I have unable to sleep. Don't know if I can get on a plane again. This is the third problem I've had with Southwest relating to my disabilities. They offered me a $100 LUV Voucher for this incident, but I refused to take it. That can't solve the setback they have placed in my life. Luckily for me a kind lady came along and with the help of another airport employee, I got to my gate. Then after all of that they changed the gate, had to get a flight crew and we had no refreshments. Here I am a practically homebound vet who visits her family for a month about 3 times a year; now Southwest Airlines has taken it away. My husband and I had a flight from Pittsburgh (PIT) to Orlando FL (MCO) on June 25, 2017 and a return flight schedule for June 29 from Orlando to Pittsburgh but due to my brother passing away on June 18, 2017 I contacted Southwest and had our return trip changed to June 30, 2017 so we could be at my brother’s memorial service. The attendant that I spoke with was very kind, understanding and helpful. I always buy the early bird seating due to the fact that I am claustrophobic and try to get a seat up front as possible without paying for Business class rates.

When I went on the computer to check in our seating group was B39 and B40 which I thought strange. So I contacted Southwest. At first the attendant tried to say I did not pay for early bird seating but after 20 minutes on hold she came back and confirmed I had paid for early bird seating. I requested that she move me to a different group and position which she said was impossible but she would refund my $30.00. I tried to explain that I was claustrophobic that didn't seem to make a difference to her. She advised me if I wanted to board the plane I would have to board at B39 and B40 positions. We did just that. After boarding began I stayed at the A60 position and inquired with every one as to whether they had paid for early bird seating and it was not until A27 that any one in line had paid for early bird seating.

On Monday July 3, 2017 I contacted Southwest with my complaint and was told the only thing they could do was refund my $30.00. If I had been willing to pay an additional $40.00 a ticket they could have moved us to Business class. Now the problem with that is if I hadn't called to complain about the seating position in the first place they would have just kept my $30.00 and I would have not gotten anything for that $30.00 and paid an additional $80.00 totaling $110.00 for something that should have cost me $30.00.

My suggestion to anyone buying Southwest EARLY BIRD SEATING be certain that you are getting what you pay for. Make sure you call if you get a high group number or a high seating position because my ticket I printed out stated it was EARLY BIRD SEATING. I sent Southwest an email stating these facts and received a email form Wayne ** Customer Relations/Rapid Reward to please contact them. I called and spoke to Malory in customer relations and advised me that the only thing they would do was refund my $30.00 because I complained and since I had check with other passengers could prove that I did not get what I had paid for. BUYER BEWARE.

I responded to a published complaint in USA Today. It seems that a same-sex couple with three children were denied preferred 'family' boarding by a gate agent and then again by a supervisor. They were legally married and there is no indication that their behavior was anything out of the normal. My online complaint began 'Say it isn't so!' and proceeded to ask if there was any misrepresentations or errors in the news story. We all know that news articles are not always entirely accurate. The letter was not accusing, rather I wanted to hear their side of the story. I waited the 30 days they said I might have to wait for a reply (they were very busy) and received no communication. I called them and quoted the computer generated reference number they sent by automated email. This is where the fun began.

First, put on hold for about 10 minutes, then the agent returned and said, essentially the situation had been settled and considered closed. He couldn't tell me how it had been settled, citing confidentiality. Ok, I get that. He considered the conversation over. I pressed him on the question of whether this had been policy. He said no but would not discuss policy. I again pressed him as to whether the news story had been accurate. He said there were things that were not included but declined to say what they were. At this point I told him that his answers were of absolutely no help in the situation. As I am planning summer travel I intend to vote with my credit card for the airline I have confidence in. It will not be Southwest. In the end, this complaint is less about the couple denied preferential boarding, rather it is about the complete and dismissive attitude by the airline's 'Customer Service.'

After having problems the last 4x in Dallas, this last one took the cake and their measly $100 I'm sorry hush money just wont cut it. They claimed mechanical problems yet forgot to tell the passenger who remained on the plane waiting for the departure until after everyone exited the plane. This gave us zero time to figure out other plans. After 45 min we noticed our same plane boarding others. When asked I was offered $100 and a five hour wait/delay.

Put on standby and then noticed my name going from 10-20-30-40-50 on the list. When asked, all a listers are given first regardless of where they are going. 2 people who I know checked in after I did and are not A-listers but sweet talked an agent and she bumped them ahead of most. When I brought this up, I was given some song and dance. I've flown for over 30 yrs with SWA and these people fly 1x per ten years. Also, I didn’t like the amount of time spent before finally taking off and the layovers. It's not easy to find something to do for a few hours while waiting for the next flight. Other than that, I would highly recommend them.

The plane seemed clean. Everything ran on time for my flight. I slept most of the flight itself so I didn’t get any refreshments during the flight. Luggage fees were reasonable. However, the seats have almost no leg room, and very little side to side space. Also, I wish they had routes to more airports. Pretty much the same thing I dislike about any airline.

All the employees were professional, very nice and helpful throughout the trip. Only complaint I might of had was the long layover in Chicago and the distance between my terminals in Chicago. But, I’m not even sure that was southwest problem or the airport itself.

I booked Southwest Airlines business class flight ticket on 6/10/2017 from San Jose to Virginia. There is one stop i.e Denver. The flight from Denver should take off at 06:00 pm, and it was delayed for 2 hours. I went to Southwest gate and asked to check-in me in an early flight due to my emergency, then they gave me a flight ticket to Baltimore and they took it back and said that they can't offer me. Without my permission the front officer changed the ticket, then after a few minutes they told me it was overbooked, and said they don't have the ticket no more for that flight. I didn't expect these from Southwest Airlines.

Nowadays I think the Southwest is maintaining some qualities and standards, but they were following same as different airlines like United. The front desk women were very rude on me and I was totally blanked that why she was doing like that. Whenever I traveled by Southwest it was a good experience, but this time I was felt very unhappy and very disappointed. So, please try to not cheat customers like giving flight ticket once to customers and don't take it back from them. It makes us hurt and disappointed. And I missed my important work too.

My overall experience was always positive. I never had to deal with any delays, outrageous fees or anything negative. Customer service was always pleasant and buying a ticket is quick and easy. My absolute favorite thing about Southwest when I fly is there is no layover. Where I usually fly, most other airlines stop in Atlanta before continuing. I love that Southwest doesn't and would happily pay more for a ticket just because of that. As with most airlines in the current time, amenities for coach passengers have gone downhill. Years ago I would get a couple snacks and a full can of soda. Now I'm lucky if I can get an ice cube in my tiny drink. However, since my flights are rarely longer than a couple hours, it's absolutely tolerable.

I love Southwest's unassigned seating and no extra baggage fees! Being boarded on time in an orderly and friendly fashion, then being able to choose a seat that is most comfortable for you sets the tone for a great flight. I've seen seating charts while booking that had me paying more for seemingly random coach seats. People have personal reasons for wanting to be near the back or the front of the plane or to have an aisle versus a window seat. All of you frequent flyers know what I'm talking about! And with Southwest's roomy comfortable seats there is no need for first class! I have seen more people graciously give their aisle seat to a tall man or offer to move so families with children can sit together. Southwest Airlines customers have been the most relaxed and amenable I've ever flown with to date.

Surprising this simple protocol may affect everyone's flight experience from the beginning? Have you had someone ask you to move because you've accidentally sat one row behind your assigned seat and you're already settled in, everyone is still trying to board but the person makes you get up instead of just taking your seat? No common sense and a ripple effect of frustration moves through the cabin. I've always had pleasant flights and great experiences with their crews who despite their long hours and responsibilities have always served their snacks or meals with a smile, answered questions patiently and completely and have always checked on me personally to make sure my needs were being met.

I had asked if they had pillows on board. No, but was I wanting to sleep or was I uncomfortable in the seat, she asked. My back was hurting. She went out of her way to recommend I use a jacket I had with me as a roll behind my back and to pull out my bag I had stowed under the seat in front of me just enough to be able to use it as a stool to raise my knees. She said they were tricks of the trade. Without asking me she brought me a refill on my soda. Above and beyond service or simple human kindness and they touch base with a full plane of passengers! How do these small but important details affect my overall experience? I feel special, safe, comfortable and happy I've chosen Southwest Airlines.

Also, the no checked baggage fees is a big plus because I always travel with one checked bag and a carry on. I have often been able to get direct flights to my destination which is the holy grail for any traveler. Their in flight services are comparable to other airlines with higher rates. I have never had any difficulty reaching customer service to make changes or ask about changes made to my flight. Often when booking online airlines make it difficult to reach a live agent. This was not my experience with Southwest. Their employees were courteous and helpful on the phone, the ground and in the air.

However, Southwest has a limited coverage area of the United States, of course, since their business model was to cater to the Southwestern United States. I occasionally have to fly to Washington D.C., Maine, Wisconsin. I am faithful to a couple of other airlines but the bottom line is always finding the best fare. I would certainly be flying Southwest more often if their routes were expanded. It's a huge negative for me. Being a creature of habit I would prefer to stay with one or two airlines.

I did have a negative experience with Southwest trying to cancel a flight because of illness. The insurance I paid for should have given me a refund or credit. But even after jumping through all their hoops of documentation by physicians, I lost my money. If they had given me enough time to reschedule the flight I would have been penalized with change fees and the difference in the fare. Ironically, it was cheaper to take the loss and start over. This isn't just a problem with Southwest, and I don't believe the irony is lost on any of them. It's simply not honoring a contract for services purchased, when I have done my part in a timely conscientious manner.

Wait, what? You do not say something like that over the loudspeaker. How do you lose a pilot? And why would you tell us that? Original Confirmation was ** leaving May 31st LAX @ 8:10AM arriving OAK at 9:25AM and returning travel for Friday June 2nd Leaving OAK @ 5:10pm and arriving LAX @ 6:30pm. When I went to check-in online I received an "ops" error. I called Southwest Customer service and was explained the credit card on file was not valid. Because Doctor had fraudulent activity I told her I had a new credit card. She then said she would have to cancel out and start a new reservation. Fine.

New confirmation was ** and she checked me in and sent me boarding pass via text since I was at work. Friday morning before last day of training, June 2nd, I tried to check in and I was unable to and that took me to calling another agent. That is when I discovered the Customer service representative had changed my original reservation and had me flying in May 31st and flying out May 31st... so I was actually a "no Show." Now I had to pay for another flight even though it was not my error. Not to mention the long amount of time spent on the phone I missed my morning portion of the last day of training... the marketing portion!! I needed to have confirmation of a way back home and plus I have anxiety with travel to begin with so I did not want to show up to the airport without knowing I was confirmed and on a flight. Fine.

Your error Southwest but here is my doctor's credit card to charge for a one-way flight back home. Last confirmation **. Headache to explain to my doctor the charge let alone Monday back at work I was on hold for over 2 hours with the Corporate number 855-234-4654. After being transferred to the refund department to speak to another manager I finally had to hang up as it was past 5pm and my work hours. Tuesday I was back on the line and it was just as bad... close to 2 hours again, had to keep business line on speaker phone and use alternate business phone to answer other lines. It is baffling to me that such an established corporation would 1. have a customer pay for "their" error and 2. have such a long phone wait time! Each person I did speak too did say, "It is all easy to see here, very clear what occurred." It is just frustrating that it is not as easy to take care of the actual issue and customer.

Next day, Wednesday morning still not giving up! Finally reached a representative whom placed me on hold for another 45 minutes! When she got back on the line she stated she could only refund is the "No Show" fee portion. This is the portion that is THEIR ERROR! Evidently the flight numbers were close and same exact flight times just on different days... so yet another person sees "again" how the error was made on Southwest's end that has cost me time, headache and extra money!!

Just to be absolutely clear SOUTHWEST, my original booking cost $212.97 and after all the time on the calls, missing my work training, explaining extra charges on my doctor's credit card... the new total charged, after you refunded your error that caused me extra work from Friday to Wednesday, the new total is $236.92. I write this review because I feel no one should fall behind, or have to pay extra, because of an unfair and highly unorganized business structure. SOUTHWEST AIRLINES is EXTREMELY UNSUCCESSFUL in this case because the COMPANY FAILED to UNDERSTAND its CUSTOMER.

Well while in the airport we were told that we were waiting on the second pilot. Please note I love the honesty, however, we loaded the plane. Here is where the passenger safety played a part. After so long the pilot told us that he did not have a co-pilot. Therefore, he was going to fly us into STL by himself. My question is what if something had happen to the pilot such as a (heart attack) then who would have taken over. I believe my flight was illegally flown by 1 pilot and there should always be 2 pilots and a co-pilot. Isn't that correct? Right? Therefore, we were at risk. They were so willing and ready to assist all passengers and always looked so cheerful like they just loved their jobs. They make you feel more like a flight family than a paying customer. Also at Southwest bags fly free and the prices are reasonable. Their customer service is great from check in till you reach your destination, too. My only problem is when flights are delayed or overbooked but I wouldn't blame that on the airlines.

Purchase of the ticket was easy online. However once I got to the gate, it was a cattle call. Nothing like it used to be when I was younger. I have a disability and instead of being able to board easily first, I was made to go last and had no choice in my seat for my comfort for my disability. The seats are cramped! They treated me (a disabled person) with zero respect. They told me because they couldn't see my disabilities and the fact I didn't have a letter from a doctor, they were not taking my word. I had my placard and ID card with me for my rental car. Yet they said they weren't buying it. I will never fly Southwest again. I will drive 10 hours or take a train before I get on that flight again. They are rude, disrespectful, and should be sued.

I also love not having to worry about checking a bag and being charged a huge fee for that. Boarding is fairly simple & usually no problem. I normally bring my own refreshments if it's a long flight. Also I like the people who work for them. Attendants are almost always very gracious & helpful. The seating is a little tight though which makes me feel somewhat claustrophobic but it's that way in most planes. I don't like that they don't fly into my town and that I have to drive over 2 hours away to another town to fly with them. Overall, it's a great airline with nice people.

Southwest was always very comfortable and when you needed to use the restroom there was no waiting time. The flight attendants were very accommodating whatever you needed. They had no problem getting you extra drinks if you needed them. If your party needed a wheelchair, they had one ready and let you off the plane first to make it easier to make it to the cart that took you to your next gate. Purchasing the tickets were very easy online and at the airport days or weeks before traveling. Customer service was great when purchasing the tickets over the phone. Explanations were easy to understand and made the boarding and flight very nice every time.

Just as any of the airline companies, the refreshments are the same and I didn't like the serving of alcoholic beverages. There was always at least one person that made the flight very difficult for others to enjoy their flights since the drinker would always act out in a negative nature. This was not the fault of the crew, it was those that could not wait to get to their destination to buy themselves drinks so the passengers could had a good flight.

For the past few years Southwest has been the only airline we have flown, but no more. My daughter lost her passport at the Indianapolis Airport off of a Southwest flight in January. In March, one of their employees looked her up on Facebook and messaged her to tell her they had her passport. First reaction... great it was found! Second reaction... wait a minute who is this guy using her personal information to look her up and contact her on Facebook, and where has her passport been for the last two months, who else has had it? And yes we did file the proper lost and found documents with Southwest. This is a security issue and an invasion of privacy.

My daughter is now worried this guy may have gotten fired due to the issue and might track her down, since he does have her information and the only thing I got from Southwest was "Sorry we will handle this internally". What!? Are you kidding me? Yes, it was my daughter's fault. She lost the passport, but that gives Southwest no right to mishandle an item and no excuse not to follow proper procedures, and no excuse not to protect its customer's personal information. I was very patient with them when trying to get answers and after a month of getting the runaround, I felt the VERY least they could do would be to reimburse the cost of a new passport and they refused. I no longer trust this airline and I want to warn everyone to be very cautious with their items and personal information because if it gets in the hands of a Southwest employee it may be misused.

My daughter left work early and did not receive an alert that her flight was going to cancel. She was in line boarding the flight 3604 when it cancelled. SERIOUSLY??? Her bags are going to get to Houston Hobby 10 hours before she does. I am on the phone right now, for the 2nd time, trying to get her on a flight from Phoenix to Denver and Denver to Houston so she can get her by 10:00am tomorrow (25th). The reason I am on the phone AGAIN is because your representative could not speak or understand fluent English. WE ARE DONE! A $500 voucher is a joke for the inconvenience this has caused us and many other families to kick off our Memorial Day weekend. You won't be in business long. Keep Climbing... DELTA... from now on!

Southwest is my favorite airline. Always a good experience. I enjoy their sometimes politically incorrect humor. Love their honesty and their attitude. The staff appears happy with their jobs. I like that they have no fees for baggage! No surprise fees. I am very loyal to them because of this. I also like that their staff seem to be empowered to solve problems without waiting to ask a boss. I like the first come first serve boarding. I wish they had more routes. I would use them to fly everywhere. I wish they have more food. Would also be nice if they allowed more pets on board. And more food. I can't think of any other issues with the airline.

Flying is expensive with any airline company, but it's been a while since I have flown Southwest because tickets are so darn expensive. However, I remember enjoying flying with them and not having a bad experience. I remember them giving drinks such as pop or juice and little snacks, and I love that the employees are kind. If I had the chance to fly with them again I would take up the opportunity.

Personally it was quite efficient and easy purchasing tickets. If I had any trouble, I had customer service help me and it was a good service. The airplane ride was smooth and friendly when it came to the flight attendants. I like the kind and respectful attitude that the attendants gave me onboard the flight and the fast service when it can to boarding the plane and taking off immediately and safely. The only thing I did not like was the during one experience it took longer than expected to board the plane due to the incoming plane arriving behind schedule.

I like how friendly and personable all of the flight attendants are. Wait times were pretty low and flight wasn't too crowded and it was quiet. Refreshments were available and had variety. But one thing I don't like as much is the limit of the size of the carry on bags. Also, quality of seats are decreased to save money. My overall experience with Southwest Airlines and my flight was positive.

Southwest Airlines is very nice and I like it the most out of other airlines. Purchased a ticket, extra fees, refreshments and amenities, on boarding procedure, good service, quiet, tasty food, lovely music, beautiful view, peaceful and quiet for reading or anything else for focusing. They have VERY good customer service, which really surprises me since the airlines I go to aren't the nicest or great. The people on the plane are very nice. Other airlines I use just have a snappy attitude which really makes me disappointed. I love Southwest Airlines. It's very unique and I use it the most out of the airlines I use.

Recently got back from a golf trip up north. Well, flight was ok but when I went to pick up my golf clubs noticed back bracing and wheel mount busted. Was in a rush, would let them know later. Well, on return trip returning home I called, reported. They informed me I had 4 hours from time damage was noticed to report it. Since I reported after return flight they do report as courtesy. Well, claims e-mailed me back next day saying since it was beyond the 4 hours, they were not liable for damage. Very poor answer. I'm a very honest person and to be treated like this on a $ 300.00 bag. Poor way to treat your customers, SOUTHWEST AIRLINES!!!!

They informed us 2 hours before our flight was supposed to leave Nashville that our flight was delayed by 2 hours. Which meant we were going to miss our connecting flight in Denver. There were no other flights out of Denver till late the next morning to ONT. So they were essentially telling us that we could spend the night in the airport... With a 2 month old infant.

We asked about a hotel... She said she couldn't offer that. I asked if we could fly into LAX and rent a rental car if they would cover the cost. She said we would have to call customer service about any refunds and they were currently closed... So opting out of having an infant overnight in an airport for 15 hours... we took the flight to LAX, and rented a car so that we didn't have to ask them to reimburse us for 2 hotel rooms which would have cost way more. We then had to drive at 1AM in the morning 1.5 hours to get home and then took half the next day picking up our car from the airport parking lot and returning the rental car.

After waiting on hold for 35 minutes to talk to a customer service rep all they offered was $75 per person in vouchers... So they weren't even willing to cover the rental car. The $75 would be issued back to the email that booked the reservation (company flight) so I would have to call back again... Wait on hold again... And probably bug the company that flew us... To get the vouchers transferred to me... Told her that since I won't be flying SW anymore that the vouchers were worthless. Had high regard for this company... Not anymore. Delta's customer service handled the situation much better when I needed help from them.

While having to go to Midway Airport instead of O'Hare, which is a bit of a inconvenience, things go pretty smoothly has Southwest Airlines. We were allowed one bag plus a carry on, along with a drink and snack during the flight. The price is very competitive, and the various times available for flights is in general pretty good and the one time we had an issue with a bag being damaged, was taking care of in a reasonable amount of time. The ability to pre-register 24 hours in advance is also very convenient. Things in general go pretty good at Southwest Airlines but the biggest issue is the seats are a bit cramped. The only other issue is I was not allowed to bring an outside cup into the plane so I could not finish my drink.

Southwest Airlines fly often to many cities. Tickets are cheap, but so is the experience. They don't even provide you with bottled water on long flights and the bathrooms are always a mess. Their staff always seems exhausted and a bit overworked. But the stewards are usually nice. Occasionally I've had really friendly experiences with their staff.

Southwest, overall, was a very enjoyable flying experience. They have the most manageable fees when it comes to checking your bags. The stewardess was very friendly and helpful, and I even had an extra bag to check and they didn't charge me for it. The price of Southwest is probably the main reason I like to fly with Southwest. I loved it every time. Their prices are always the lowest and most competitive. There amenities aren't always the best, but they are anyways the best bang for your buck.

I like that it was a easy process, but amenities was not that great and the refreshments can improve considering the amount you pay to fly with this airline. Another thing the plane was a little too crowded. However, good customer service, staff was friendly starting back at boarding, which was easy and not stressful. When we boarded the plane the pilot made sure to speak to everyone. The safe instructions was very clear and the plane was clean as well. Overall, the ticket price was more than other flights and in the beginning I thought it was too high, but I had to fly on Southwest because they had the time I was looking for and after the good customer service, it really was all worth it.

However, I like to pick my seats but I can't reserve seats at the time I have to purchase tickets. Moreover, I wish there were more nonstop flights from Kansas City. Good snacks on flight but I also want the whole can of pop when the snack car comes around. Nevertheless, Southwest is always easy to work with. Very affordable. Easy boarding. Their prices are always reasonable and they don't sneak in extra charges. However, I wish that they had flights to the cities I want to go to when they have those super sales. Overall, my experience with Southwest was great. I like that it's up to each passenger to choose and get a good seat. You check in online 24 hours before and then you get a place online based on how early you checked in. I like that they always give food and beverages no matter how short the flight, too. I really enjoyed it. The website made my options clear (both pricing, dates, and departure time) and the amenities were great. I LOVE that they don't charge for check on bags! No hidden fees for silly things and they are by far the cheapest airline I've seen in a long time for what they actually offer. Everyone seemed to know what was going on at the gate but their boarding process can be a little frustrating. I like knowing that I can get a good seat and sometimes that's just not possible. So I do wish you were allowed to select seats prior to arrival. Great in flight snacks and they also carry Dr. Pepper in flight which is awesome.

I had a good experience with Southwest. I like the open seating arrangement and the boarding style. I also like the low special fares for the flights, as well as the the last minute fares. However, the special fares are not always available. I also think that the flight attendants are entertaining. When you have entertaining flight attendants it can make a short flight better. Although the entertainment value can be high, sometimes the flight attendants go overboard and it makes the experience a little sour.

Easy going at great prices. Their online ticket purchasing was pretty easy in itself but it's just hard to match a good price to the right dates and then deciding on what time of day to fly for a better value. Sometimes their Want to Get Away deal confuses you when trying to book your flight. I like that there is no business class or first class makes every passenger a priority. They offer a laid back environment and the flight attendants usually make you laugh during the safety procedures taught before the flight takes off. I've never had a rude attendant wait on me. They have always been helpful. If there is soda or peanuts left over they'll give you seconds and thirds. On the other hand, what I dislike about Southwest is it can get very cramped on some flights. Overbooking and standby seating seems to be a very common issue. I always find myself asking a flight attendant if my flight will be full. That way I can periscope the best seat I can get in advance.

There are so many things I love about Southwest. Several stand out more, very courtesy flight attendants and the humor of the flight staff. They ease your nerves before the flight takes off, always making it more fun to fly. The pilot and co-pilot always talk to us and are so friendly and informative. They always exceed my expectations so when it's time to book travel, I always go there first. Not to even mention the more than reasonable fares!! There are two things that I dislike but it's so non important because the outstanding service they provide makes this seem petty. I do not like the snacks they hand out and also that they don't fly in and out of more places. Other than that overall experience with Southwest has been outstanding, safe and considerate. I have flown with them at least a dozen times. I am in a wheelchair and they go completely out of their way to accommodate my needs.

On 5/16/2017 I went to pre-board Southwest Airline Flight 1669 from Orlando to BWI at gate 121 leaving at 9:50 am. I had an unfortunate interaction with a ticket agent name whose name began with a V. I could not pronounce it. Eventually she had to get assistance from a supervisor (Sue) to avoid us missing our paid flight. Delayed us by 45 minutes. I was arriving back from a peaceful carnival cruise to utter rude, discriminating behavior by a Southwest employee (Her name began with a "V" I could not pronounce it) towards large people.

Flying from BWI to Orlando my wife purchased 3 seats, 2 for me 1 for herself. Initially my wife and I were flying back to BWI with a relative, so the 2 seats my wife purchased would be fine for her and I, because our relative would have been in the 3rd seat. However that changed, so several days prior to the flight while on my cruise I called Southwest and spoke to "Ria **" what a winner, she had trouble understanding and communicating in English. All I needed to do was add 1 extra seat so that I would have 2 for myself as I did when I flew into Orlando and 1 for my wife. Speaking to Ria ** was so frustrating and exhausting, and made me regret using Southwest Airlines. I had to repeat the same information several times, I begged her to take her time and she said she got it. Little did I know when she said she got it, she meant she got it wrong.

I asked for a confirmation email to assure I had purchased the extra seat. She did send the email but it did not depict what I needed. And by then I was already on my 8-day cruise in the Caribbean. The woman checking myself and my wife in for pre-boarding (Name began with a V) verified our documents and the extra seat and we sat down. Later she came over to me sitting down in the open lounge area, she said "Openly in plain earshot of airport onlookers" using her normal inside voice "May I speak to you about your 2 seats".

I was utterly humiliated, embarrassed and felt ashamed, onlookers were snickering and laughing. This could have been handled in so many different ways as to not disrespect and humiliate a paying customer. I emailed the contact us group on 5/17/2017 and received one of those system generated email responses. No other response or movement towards a restitution.
