I was online and had gone all the way to the final click to receive 287.20 for my trip to LAX from ORD and back. It popped up that the price has been changed to 353.20... I was very upset, I called the 1-888-613-6045, the gentleman that helped me told me that the plane was full and that that was the price. I am meeting someone at the airport. I told him that I had put in my seat numbers. It was all set. Once again he said it was full. I told him I couldn't take another flight. He got me a fare of 303.20. which is better than 353.20 but not as good as 287.20.
I have flown Virgin America once before and really enjoyed the experience... I am sure I will enjoy it this time as well, I just don't understand the increase in fare. Is this just one of those marketing things to get you in then you change the prices? If so I am disappointed in Virgin America... I'm happy that I am going on VA for my flight to LA but know I don't have assigned seats 21D going out and 18D coming back. I prefer an aisle seat. Thank you for your help in this matter.

I made reservations for midday flights, since grandparents as well as young children were traveling. CheapO sent me an urgent notice that our flights were changed. When I contacted them, someone named "**", told me that we're now had a 6:20 AM flight out of Wichita to Ft Lauderdale, connecting in Houston. Our return flight was now changed so we would be making a connection in Denver and returning to Wichita 8:15 PM. When I complained about the late flight, he threatened me that the other option was to spend the night in Denver. So, returning home, that last flight out of Denver was cancelled. We were all flown to Houston at Midnight and to Wichita the next morning. That morning flight was delayed several hours. We arrived in Wichita mid afternoon.
I made reservations for another son on CheapTickets and we were suppose to all fly together. His family's flight time was changed slightly, nothing to inconvenience them. I have flown to India from Wichita in less time than it took us to fly from Ft. Lauderdale to Wichita. I don't blame CheapO for the flight delays, but feel like they changed us to less desirable times, which caused our problems. Why? Did they sell our midday travel reservations for more money? We arrived home exhausted and frustrated. We also missed a friend's 90th birthday dinner and Music Theater's production of Aida.

Planned a trip to fly to Seattle, WA. I called CheapOair and made reservations for two to fly on Delta Airlines on June 17, 2015. After processing my information via phone with customer service, I was told I should receive a confirmation email with a couple hours and given a booking #**. Several hours later, went to check my email. There was no confirmation from the company. Made another call to the customer service regarding the above mention. Rep tells me I should have received confirmation by this time. Later to find error in the recorded email address. Email address confirmed and corrected in company's system. Agent assured me that flight would be emailed. I asked to purchase flight insurance and paid via credit/visa. Once again checked my email without satisfaction.
Worried, made third call on June 20, 2015, spoke to agent. I informed agent I still have not received confirmation and wanted to resolve this issue or refund my purchase. She found another system error. Flight was booked to Baltimore, Maryland and not Seattle as I request my flight. I was told they would need to investigate matter and a supervisor would contact me in a few hours. Never got a reply. Today I called CheapOair with expressed anger! I was told they were still investigating matter. It's been 5 days without resolve. Now, I am writing a complaint with consumer affairs to help me get resolve.

I have used CheapOair many times and am very pleased with the choices of flights as well as the good rates. What I am very unhappy with is the agents are very difficult to understand because of their accents. I am always asking them to repeat what they say. This very annoying to both. They are however very helpful in making flight arrangements and changes when needed. Thank you for allowing 24 hrs to make a change. This was very helpful, since I was not able to get in touch with relative to see if the arrangements I made were ok. They were not, so I was able to make the best flight arrangements for them.

Booked a flight to Orlando in March for departure in Aug. I made a mistake by reversing my grandson's name and omitting my granddaughter's middle name and was told by a rude rep he couldn't fix it and I would have to buy two new tickets as they wouldn't be allowed on the flight. He put me on hold came back and said he couldn't do anything. I said I would call the carrier. He said he done that and they couldn't change it. I called the carrier and she said as it was a typo error and for a small fee cheapo air could fix it. I called their customer service. She said call him back. I did but he still won’t change it... I will never book with them again. Lesson # 1 always book with carrier!!!

Apparently you have many new workers who do not understand how to read schedule changes. I have called all 3 times that our flights were changed by Delta and was told our original flight schedule instead of the new one. Thank God I know enough that the schedule is changed but you don't, which is real scary considering I give you my money for flights and that is all apparently you can do. Please train your workers properly or you will no longer get as much business.

I do not typically feel the need to expose a company for what they are on social media, however, I decided to write this to save other people the hassle that I have endured. My experience has shown me that Cheapoair.com is a scam. I recently booked a trip with them that was listed online at a certain price. The next day the company called me and told me that the airline we were using would not transfer baggage to a connecting flight. They then gave me the option to change my flight to an earlier one so I would have time to get my bag from baggage claim and re-check it in.
When they changed the flight they charged me almost double the original cost. I fought with their customer service for a full month to get my money back. In the end they only refunded $400. This is not the worst part. On the days of travel I asked each individual airline that we flew if they transferred baggage to our connecting flights. Each airline assured me that they absolutely do. Cheapoair.com told us a bold faced lie in order to get us to pay more for our tickets. If you feel this is purely wrong as I do I urge you to never use them. I also urge you to like this post and share it on your feed. Please help us expose this scamming company for what they really are.

I booked 3 separate legs to different cities. I was very satisfied with the rates and on-line service I received from CheapOAir and the first 2 legs of my trip with United Airlines went very smooth. The 3rd leg of my trip was out of Phoenix on Spirit Airlines. When I checked my flight status 8 hrs. prior to my departure there was no info on my booking status. I called from my rental car and waited over 20 minutes to speak with a representative from CheapOAir to ask why my booking was not showing up. The recorded msg kept saying to go to the website for a live chat which is difficult to do from your cell phone. When I finally got a rep she was very helpful and put me on hold to call Spirit and research the problem. That took over 30 minutes and when she got back to me the only info she had was that it was canceled with no further explanation. I asked her to book another flight for me and my options were 24 hrs. later.
I decided to take a full fare flight on U.S. Air rather than wait at the airport for that length of time. I asked "who do I call for a refund?" She said Spirit Airlines, however she would work on it. I am not blaming CheapOAir for Spirit's cancelation, however why wasn't I notified so I could make alternate arrangements and who is responsible for my refund? The money I would of saved if everything went as planned I spent trying to get home. I will probably use CheapOAir again however I will take a better look at the carrier involved. I feel as my travel agent CheapOair should at the very least work on my refund from Spirit. I was a satisfied customer until I was stuck in Phoenix and left with no answers... Thank You if you took the time to read this.

Half an hour later she claimed reservation change can't be made without paying an additional $380.00, claiming that September/October fares are higher than June fares and saying that she will call back, instead she put the booking charge through.

I had purchased the tickets for myself and my parents to attend my sister's wedding in Costa Rica (March 2015). Unfortunately a few days prior to our departure my grandmother who was living in Surrey, BC had passed away. My parents had to purchase new tickets to urgently fly to Vancouver in order to take care of the funeral arrangements. Therefore they were unable to board the plane as they were in Surrey at that time. I had sent multiple e-mails to customer service (including a copy of the death certificate) and NEVER received a response (The funny thing is when you call there is an automated message that says to contact customer service via e-mail and you will receive a response within HOURS - FALSE!).
When I finally called customer service to put in my refund or partial refund request, I mentioned to the agent that I had sent an e-mail and never received a response. He answered that they receive hundreds of e-mails in a day. I then proceeded to tell him that I sent the e-mails 3-4 weeks ago and he apologized. He finally requested that I fax the death certificate and put in a request with the airline company (as they are a third party). He said it would take a week or 2 to receive a response. 3-4 weeks later, no response whatsoever.
I call CheapOair once again. 20 minutes later, I am told that it will now take a billing cycle or 2 before I receive a response (REALLY?). So they said 1-2 more months to see if we could get a reimbursement. Couldn't they have said this in the first place? I understand that tickets are non-refundable, I really do, but we had to deal with the death of my grandmother and we sent the death certificate. This all dates back to March (we sent in all the papers and requests in April), it is now JUNE. They should really not have an e-mail address if no one will respond to their e-mails.

My wife and I recently purchased Turkish Airline tickets online thru a third party (CheapOair). In making the reservations I made a typo and incorrectly input the departure date as 5/1/15 rather than 5/2/15. When I presented my ticket at the Turkish Airline counter at JFK in New York I was informed of the error and was told that my entire booking had been cancelled as the result of being a “no show” on 5/1/15. The discounted ticket price purchased thru CheapOair was in the amount of $1,456.60 for both tickets. I spent much time on the internet to find the best possible ticket prices since my wife and I are retired seniors living on a fixed income. This trip was 3 years in the planning.
I flew from Phoenix, Arizona (PHX) to New York (JFK) via another airline (JetBlue). When I was informed of the situation by Turkish Airlines I had to decide if we were going to cancel our trip or rebook Turkish Airline tickets at a much higher price. We decided to do the latter and I contacted my third party provider (CheapOair) and requested that they contact Turkish Airline and negotiate a new booking. Cheapoair subsequently informed me that the new ticket price would be $2,812.92 which would be more than double the original fare. I was uncertain as to whether I could afford this but chose to go ahead with it since we were already in New York’s JFK.
The CheapOair agent read me off a list of charges and penalties related to the rebooking. I informed him that I was in the JFK airport on a cell phone and was not in a position to take notes. I informed him that my only concern was the total cost that I would incur. I specifically asked the CheapOair booking agent, “When I return home and open my credit card bill I will see the charge of $2,812.92 and NOTHING MORE”. This was important since I was already stretching my budget.
His response was YES. The agent also informed me that only the departure dates and times would change and that the return tickets would remain the same. This was false and the new return booking caused me to miss my connection in New York (JFK). I had to pay a charge to JetBlue to change the booking. In addition I had to rent a motel room at JFK since the new departure time Back to Phoenix was 23 hours away. At 77 & 79 years old my wife and I can no longer sleep in airport terminals.
The big shock came when I returned home and examined my Discover Credit card bill and the email sent to me by CheapOair which informed me that the new airfare of $2,812.92 was on top of the original airfare of $1,456.60 which now amounted to $4241.52 which I could never afford and would never have agreed to. I had Discover Card dispute the (2) $700.30 charges (this amount was less the CheapOair fee). At the same time I contacted CheapOair and initially spoke to an agent named **. I made him aware of the situation and he indicated that he would investigate and that he would have to pull the voice recording of my conversation with the booking agent to confirm my statements. A few days later I received a call from ** from the Accounting / Charge Back Department at CheapOair who indicated that he had taken over the case. He assured me that he would follow up and keep me informed.
On 5/20/15 @ 11:33 am I received a call from him indicating that because of the “dispute status” on the Discover card he would have difficulty in going forward with the investigation. I, “very stupidly”, agreed to have Discover remove the dispute status so he would be able to proceed with his investigation. He requested that I email him the “dispute settled” document from Discover. Since I did not have the email as yet from Discover, I cut and pasted the info from my Discover account showing that the dispute had been resolved. On 5/21/15 @ 2:33 pm he called and asked if I had a better document from Discover rather than the cut and paste I provided him the day before. I sent new documents of the settlement to him that contained the official Discover logo.
It was not until the following day that I realized that I had been conned by Mr. **. I subsequently emailed him and asked if he had, in fact, requested those documents in order to close his investigation and get CheapOair off the hook for the $1,456.60. I never received a response and don’t expect that I will. Cheapoair knew, after listening to the voice tape, that their agent had misrepresented the cost of rebooking the tickets and that the final cost to me would be far in excess of the $2800+ dollars he quoted. They subsequently, under the guise of helping me recoup the $1400+ dollars, asked me remove the dispute on the Discover credit card so that they might evade their responsibility and avoid paying a reimbursement. I personally view their action as fraud and intentional misrepresentation of the costs associated with this airline booking.

If you ever would like to change part of your itinerary, CheapOair mandates that you re-price the entire ticket (e.g. both the outbound and inbound portions of your journey). Airlines often do not have this policy and instead will allow you to re-price only the direction that you are changing. As a result of their policy, any changes to itineraries made via CheapOair will be much more expensive than if the equivalent ticket were purchased with the airline directly because the fare will often have increased on the other leg of your journey in the interim and for some airlines, repricing the entire ticket means incurring two change fees, one for the inbound and one for the outbound. I suggest paying a slight premium upfront, if there is one at all, and buying tickets directly from the airline.

The only frustrating detail was that I had to pay the difference between the tickets I changed when I could find a less expensive ticket for the same flight on your website. I had booked a two tickets from Baltimore to Chicago for a June flight on May 26, 2015. Less than 48 hours later on May 28, 2015 the same flight dropped almost $100 each! I contacted CheapOair, got transferred 3 times, and was informed unless the price changes within 24 hours, I could not get the cheaper rate. I asked if I could cancel my existing flight to and book the cheaper flight, and they informed me I could not receive a refund. There is definitely no white glove service with this company. No cohesion as I was transferred 3 times, reception is horrible as if the operators are definitely abroad, and the communication with the employees to customers is definitely rehearsed. Stay away!

On 5/26, I was trying to book 4 tickets for me and my family to travel to St Thomas. I was online trying for hours. Finally, I found a fare on CheapOair but when I tried to book it, it was sold out. I then got a call from CheapOair and the gentleman said he noticed I am trying to book a flight to St Thomas. He explained he can try to get me the tickets at the same price I saw or maybe cheaper. The fare that I tried to book was $563.60. He was able to get me a fare for $488.04 which included insurance. I was very happy. Excellent service.

I am traveling on a USA funded federal grant. I accidentally booked a carrier that is not covered and wanted to cancel my flight less than 48 hours after booking. I called customer service (where I was spoken to quite rudely, but I can generally overlook that). They told me they could not cancel my flight because they had limited authorization to do that from the carrier. I called Air Canada directly and a very nice woman spent some time on the phone with me and said that CheapOair should be able to cancel my flight for a fee (which I was completely willing to pay).
When I called back CheapOair and spoke to someone with the tag ** (no last names, just pseudonyms) he told me, and this is verbatim "Air Canada is lying to you." He refused to cancel my flight even tough I had at that point purchased flight insurance. He kept repeating that he can change the dates for me but that was not the issue. I'm very angry that CheapOair has such service, even though their flight protection plan states that the insurance should be able to cover flights that are non-refundable. Will never book through them again.

I am very disappointed and angry. Booked 4 round trip tickets in business class from JFK to Rome on 9 Jan 2015. The email I received confirmed both legs of the trip were in business class. I am reading your email confirmation now as I type this note. I also specifically asked the booking agent 2 times to ensure both legs of the trip were in business class which he confirmed. The flight from JFK to Dublin was in biz class. Great service. The flight from Dublin to Rome was coach... stuck in a middle seat. No business class seats on this flight at all. Ever.
So I would kindly like to understand how much of my ticket charge (for all 4 passengers I paid for) will be refunded? Your email clearly shows Aer Lingus Flight 402 from Dublin to Rome as "non-stop business class". I've done a lot of business with Cheapoair the past few years and have told several friends about your service. I would like that trend to continue but this issue needs to be resolved. ASAP. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you soon... or I will go to executive management, social media and BBB if required.
Received an auto response indicated my issue had been escalated. This was over 2 weeks ago and despite multiple follow-up emails there has been no response from the company. Very disappointing level of service. So I guess the few dollars saved with this provider not worth it when something goes wrong. Can you spell "Expedia"? I sure can going forward...

I tried to book a short haul flight that had appeared on Skyscanner. Clicked through to the website and entered all my details before it told me this flight was unavailable and the last seat had just been taken. But they would give me £20 for a different flight! Went back to Skyscanner to see if the flight was still being offered by CheapOAir and it was. So used a different computer to see if the flight was still coming up on their website and it was! They clearly say they have flights that they don't have just so they can get people on to the website and hope that people book a flight that costs more than they actually have. Absolutely ridiculous that they are showing flights that they don't have. Tantamount to fraud.

Updating this review after a call from a customer service supervisor (Ignacio) at Cheapoair. The company has showed that they does not agree with customer service reps treating customers as I described in my post. The supervisor was very polite and flexible in his attempt to resolve my booking modification. He clearly explained all my alternatives and put effort to sincerely understand my needs in order to offer the best possible solution for my booking.
I am happy to know that the first service I got over the phone was not representative of the company's values and customer service policies. I would definitely return to the site.
Thanks to Cheapoair management for trying to improve by monitoring reviews on ConsumerAffairs.com. Thanks to the later as well for bridging the gap between consumers and companys' customer service managers in order to improve the quality of services and goods.

I'm a return customer for the last 5 years. I called (today at 6:17 am EST - Cheapoair here is your chance to check the phone call recording which you record for quality assurance!) to make a return flight date modification and expecting to pay the $100 or $200 fee as listed in the terms and conditions. However the service rep was more like a pushy salesman. He first informed me that change "is not possible" with my reservation. I asked him to check again because the terms and conditions say that it is usually possible with a penalty. Then he says he will "do his best" and put me on hold for a couple of minutes. He gets back on the line to say that he "called Lufthansa and MEA (airlines my flight is with) and they both refused any change, however he will "try with his manager" and put me on hold again. Comes back to bring me the great news that his manager "has allowed a one-time change".
I'm already anticipating the excessive charge at this point after this whole show he put on. It would cost $360 to change, even though I'm changing from the high season (July) to the low season (September). I said I would have to think about that, as I was just calling for a price check and cannot confirm the date now. Here is the good part. The rep starts pushing to make the sale and threatening me that "this is a one-time change". I'm like fine, that's why I need to check my dates because it's a one-time change. He then clarifies that "one time change" means I must make the change now because he got me an exception from the manager.
I explained I can't confirm the date now once again. He then says that he understands and what he means by "making the change now" is to just let him make "a hold on the date" and he will call me back in 2 hours to get my date confirmation. I felt like I was in a 3rd world country dealing with a crooked business that only cared about collecting dollars. I'm truly disappointed. This experience has ruined the image I had about the company forever.

I booked airfare with CheapOair in March for a trip from Sacramento to Santiago, Dominican Republic, 01/14/2016 through 01/29/2016. The company overcharged me and Wells Fargo had them fix the overcharge. I do not know if this is when the change occurred, but I am now somehow scheduled to return on 01/22/2016, a week early. I am getting married there on 01/23/2016 and would not have booked a flight home to miss my own wedding. I have tried contacting both them and United, and was told I would have to pay over $400 in fees to change a segment that only cost $442.50.
All I want is for my flight to be corrected. The original returning flights were UA1625-UA1773-UA6462. The flights they changed me to also only have a 1 hr, 25 min international layover, which would be impossible to claim baggage, go through customs, recheck baggage, and get to the gate within this time. I would be more than willing to pay the fare difference if needed, even though the fare was current 2 months ago. I just do not want to be dealing with this stressful situation prior to my wedding.

I normally do not write reviews but I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I received from CheapOair. I normally do the bookings myself but was told it was better to go through an agent as it benefits both of us. The agent I received was extremely pushy and rude. She could not understand me and I offered several times to do my own booking online but she would not take that for an answer. The flights I had searched were cheaper online (on the same website) and only after I researched the exact flight numbers, would she match the price.
After an hour on the phone (when I could have done it online in 20 minutes) the booking was complete. I did not however receive an e-mail confirmation so I had to call and change my e-mail address only to find out my name was spelt wrong as well. Another hour wasted. When I changed my name they then told me I had to call the airline and change it as well. I wasted so much time on the phone while I could have (and should have) done everything myself. For anyone looking to save money on flights, there are a lot of other vendors that have much better customer service and that have agents that actually provide proper intellect and don't outsource their call centers to other countries to try and save a few bucks.

I bought it for $546 while booking I made typo in friends name and within 5 minutes I called customer service to correct this. They said they cannot (even though ticket was not confirmed then) which was ok but offered me another flight without any new fees. I insisted I needed same flight so I told him let me talk to Airlines, it's very minor mistake they can help but he told me if I hang up he won't be able to help So I agreed to book flight of his choice which was 4 hrs late. Customer rep told me no fees has been charged or levied. I thought it is good service initially.
They I checked their cheapoair website little later and realize the seat on earlier flight was still available and cost to later flight is lot cheaper ($391 only). That's why I felt customer rep rushed me to change my booking to save some extra bucks for his company. I reported this to cheapoair "best price guarantee" team and asked them to refund difference at least but no response from the team so far. I will wait then I will dispute with credit card customer care.
I am still hoping they might fix this but beware of customer service. One more thing I booked my ticket in evening and some strange charges showed on my credit card during middle of night and I woke up with call from Chase fraud alert service so I have to cancel my credit card and ordered new one and disputed all those charges while made during middle of night while I was sleeping. I wished I stayed with reputed website only like expedia or orbitz only where they have at least guarantee cancellation within 24 hours and best price match. Learnt a lesson hard way today.

However I was never told that I needed to print my boarding passes before the flight. I spoke with an agent who was unhelpful once again and they stated that the matter has been passed to an investigator and that I should contact them again in 2-3 days. After 3 days I did but they said they were still investigating it and to contact them again after 2-3 days. Once again after 3 days I contacted them to only be told again that it was still ongoing and I should contact them again in 2-3 days.
I said this was poor customer service as I have been waiting for over 2 weeks to deal with my issue. I asked them for their complaints procedure. However the agent said that they are looking into it and I should contact them AGAIN in (you guessed it) 2-3 days!!! I am now unsure what to do as I live in the UK and I cannot afford to be ringing their customer service number daily (even though they are useless on that too). Overall their whole customer service is poor and myself and my friends are out of pocket by a lot of money. Do not book anything with them would be my advice!

I purchased two plane tickets to the incorrect airport. Within 4 hours of buying the tickets, I realized that I needed to change the departure airport, but when I called into the customer service line to change the airport, I was told that it was too late to change the itinerary without paying a fee (initially, the fee was $50 per passenger, but the agent reduced the cost to $30 per passenger). The cost reduction was helpful, but I would have preferred that the agent reduce the fees even more since I called into the customer service line exactly 4 hours after I booked the flight. Unfortunately, the call took about 40 minutes, and by the time I was able to get the itinerary adjusted, I was already "outside of the 4 hour window", which made it impossible to change without paying a fee.

The site showed up an attractive price for a connection but was not available to be booked online. I had to call it in and pay an extra $75 for it. This is just the beginning… Less that 24 hours to departure I get a call by someone that there is a problem with her connection and her flight will need to be changed. I am amazed by how they go about doing this smoothly. As per him the layover of 1.5 hours was not enough. Then why was it on the website and on call. It's been over 5 hours of my time and I have still not had it resolved.

It takes CheapOAir and an airline 2 business days to charge a credit card, but after 1 month and 17 days, still there is no reimbursement. Flights were cancelled early March due to a snow storm; planned to take a once a year treatment with doctors who come from out of the country. A supervisor had to take the call, and said to wait 15-20 business days for a reimbursement to be received. After 20 business days there was no reimbursement; called them, and there is nothing they would guarantee but a request for us to wait. Still at this time (21 April 2015) there is no reimbursement and no one wishes to respond. If it took 2 business days for the credit card to be charged, then it shouldn't take so long (common sense!) for a reimbursement due to a cancelled flight due to inclement weather. Missed that unique health treatment opportunity and would have to wait for another year.

When I complained after 15 business days that it had not yet arrived, I was told it would be another 7 to 14 business days. It has now been over six weeks. I still have not received a refund. Today they want permission to charge my account another dollar before they issue the refund in 7 to 14 days!
I addition, the chat and phone wait times are excessive. Up to 85 to 90 minutes have been quoted, which may or may not happen. I immediately placed a phone call to Customer Service, and was put on hold for 20 minutes. When the representative finally answered I could not understand one word of his greeting (I speak English), but nevertheless I asked him to explain the "flexible date flight." Silence. I asked a second time. Still silence. Finally I said, "Never mind, I would just like to cancel my tickets." His response, "I will transfer you." I told him I did not want to be put on hold for another 20 minutes! He told me he did not have the authority to cancel reservations. I was so frustrated at that point I finally went online and canceled my tickets. BE WARNED. If it seems too good to be true... it probably isn't.

I booked a flight with them for around 1200.00. After not being able to book a room during travel because every hotel was booked I cancelled my flight. I was told after all the fees I would receive a 500 credit. Well I tried to book another flight with my credit and they said I should've booked it in 60 days even though the credit email states I have 1 year. After the phone operator changed his mind a decided to let me book my flight that was priced at 260.00. He informed me I still owe 210.00. Because there were other fees and realistically out of my 1200 I only have 50.00. Makes no sense to me either. I told him to pound sand and I would never be booking with them again. So I basically threw away 1200 on these people. Who make up their own fees and could care less about the customer.
Updated on 04/20/2015: CheapOair has recently tried to dispute my last complaint so that the public will not know about how they run their business. Unfortunately CheapOair failed once again with their customer service and did not offer any solution to the fact that after paying almost 1200.00 with all the fees of just trying to change my travel dates, they now offer me 50.00 per person for a credit to fly with them. But when I tried to call and use this credit, the phone operator made up his own rules saying I only had 60 days to rebook even though my email states I have one full year. So I just threw away 1200 and all I received was an email stating I have a credit which I'm not allowed to use because they have a rule that the phone operator made up.

CheapOair advertised a great price on the site from Sydney to London return. Unfortunately the prices quoted said they were in AUD and so we got a nasty surprise when we got our credit card bill as they had been quoted in USD so the price shot up. Also on their initial confirmation email to us the price quoted was $500 more than what we signed up to and the taxes were $380 (which was fine as this is the usual amount). They sent a second email a few hours later, correcting the fare amount and adding the $500 onto the taxes! So this tax figure is now $890 - there are no fares on their website that attract those sort of taxes! I am sure this must be against the law.
As you would expect no one wants to know about our problems at CheapOair, we have spent hours speaking to people on the phone. And just so you know you are never really speaking to people in a specific country they are all in call centres in New Delhi or the Philippines and couldn't care less about the customer, only about getting (and keeping) their money! It is certainly a case of Buyer Beware! I would never use them again.

After 4 hours you will be charged service fee of more than $50 (in my case it was $54.90) for just booking your ticket with their website. Second in addition to airline cancellation fee you will be charge $200 per ticket for economy and $300 per ticket for business class ticket cancellation.
I saw their fare using Kayak and it was giving me a discount of about $100 on a $2400 ticket and since I needed to buy 5 tickets I thought why not use this company. I called their customer service representative and received verbal acknowledgment that CheapOair does not charge fees in addition to airline fees. I went ahead and bought 5 tickets. I flew last weekend London-Eindhoven-London on a Ryanair Ticket (£58.00) bought via CheapOAir in February 2015. I received an email shortly before the flight offering me the opportunity to check in online. I did so and everything proceeded smoothly.. until my return journey. Not having booked in online on my way back to UK, I assumed it would not be a problem to check in at the airport. I did not receive a second email about checking in online on the return journey and had only done so on the way there. Not having a computer with me I did not find a convenient opportunity to check in online for the return trip.
To my amazement I was obliged to pay €70 (more than the cost of the return ticket!) in order just to make use of my return ticket. I was told that Ryanair wasn't responsible and that their terms and conditions were clear on the website. They said it was up to CheapOAir to refund me. It was not their problem they said that CheapOAir did not warn me of the terms of the ticket. I completely disagreed with this but had no choice but to pay the money to get on the plane home.
Today I rang CheapOAir and took some time explaining that I thought their documentation was deficient and that they should have a clear WARNING about printing the online boarding pass, that it would have been EASY TO INCLUDE this warning in their email to me offering the opportunity to Check in online, all that was needed (knowing that it was a Ryanair Flight) was to say NB Check in ONLINE is obligatory. I found out in fact that Ryanair have had an online checkin before policy for years, so there is NO EXCUSE for CheapOAir not to have included such a warning especially since in the terms and conditions there is an item about excess baggage fees which Low Budget airlines are notorious for charging.
I had two fairly lengthy conversations with CheapOAir representatives at the end of the telephone line today, and here are the key points: 1 - I was impressed that it was so easy to get through to a real person (wikipedia in fact mentions this about CheapOair that it is a feature of their service - great!) 2 - The first person I spoke to was a young Dutch man who was incredibly personable and did see the validity of my situation and complaint, he was not just an automaton with a party line. He advised me to take it up with the billing department and he put me through.
3 - I was amazed to be put through to someone in America.. and she too was very personable and reasonable. She said they sold many tickets from different airlines and could not be responsible for conveying all the conditions of the individual airlines and that that was the responsibility of the buyer of the ticket to explore for themselves. Again I made the point that with a loophole as critical as the ONLINE ticket obligation, they should absolutely put in a sentence that it is OBLIGATORY for Ryanair customers to check in online or pay a huge fee at the airport. She acknowledged this and was able to credit me as a 'goodwill gesture' with a £23.00 refund (which I have since received an email about).
I am kind of semi assuaged by this, but still feel hard done by and doubt I will ever use CheapOAir again (despite being impressed with the quality of people on their end of their helpline). I still can't get my head around the fact that although I printed off an entire page of 'Terms and Conditions' there is NO WARNING about this vicious Online check in requirement, no reference whatsoever.
I am sure that there are hundreds of customers like me who get caught out by this loophole and I would love to know if Ryanair haven't got some kind of deal with CheapOair whereby they agree not to get to specific about this killer extra charges. I mean €70 just to reissue a boarding pass!!???? I am going to take up all this information and send it to the consumer columns of national Newspapers like The Guardian and ombudsman, Money Matters etc - huge companies both Ryanair and CheapOAir ought to treat their customers better with at least obvious clear documentation. I am going to take legal advice about this.
I do not see how it can be legal for one company (CheapOAir) to sell the product of another company (Ryanair) while withholding or not communicating absolutely essential information about that product (i.e. when the customer is vulnerable to paying a huge surcharge and this could have been avoided with a single sentence in CheapoOAir's terms and conditions, or in the email especially about checking in ONLINE).

Shortly after this confirmation e-mail, I noticed on the company website that the company requires a verbal confirmation over the phone. I called the company twice (once with questions, and a follow up to confirm the flight).
The next day, I received an email stating that my tickets were no longer available and I would have to rebook. I called to inquire (and rebook if necessary), and was informed that the price of the flights had now more than doubled to $2,182 Canadian dollars. After speaking with a customer representative, I spent over an hour with a customer service manager who ultimately informed me that there was nothing they could do for me, other than rebook my tickets for $2,182 instead of the agreed upon $1032.62. The excuse was that even though I had agreed to purchased the tickets, they had not yet acquired the tickets from the airline, and were thus no longer able to honour the agreement. I was told I would receive a call back from someone higher up. That has yet to happen. To date, I have now spent 2 hours and 9 minutes on the phone with them.

The price was good but today I checked my credit card account online and seen that after I had paid the fare and printed out the flight summary I was charged an additional $11.99 for seat selection (a center seat to top it off). I called the C.S Dept. and was told that this fee would be returned but as yet no return. Not sure how they can charge your card at a later time.

I went onto Skyscanner. On choosing my flights it dropped me into a screen with CheapOair. I spent the relevant time entering all my details to book the flight. When I clicked the book screen it said flights aren't booked and your card hasn't been charged (due to a seat now being unavailable or going up in price). I repeated this process. Same thing. So I went directly onto the Ryanair website and booked the flight directly.
An hour later in my inbox I realize I have 2 flights booked, one because of CheapOair and one because of direct with Ryanair. Call and speak with ** who didn't listen at first, tried to pass the buck and then finally put me on hold for 25 mins. Hung up and called back and he said I need to call Ryanair (about an error Cheapoair has made???). Call again this morning, different person, told me ** is away for 2 hours, call back then and hung up. Unprofessional, shameful behavior. You make an error, you sort it. I understand that they run a business and have bills to pay and that it costs them money to change things last minute, so I expected to have to pay extra just to have it handled. That doesn't however give them an excuse to lie to me and sell me another ticket under the guise of having any sort of credit toward a new one. They tell me that I will have to pay $50 just to cancel. Then they tell me it will cost $200 to make it flexible so I can change the flight when I know when I can leave. Then when I do call to change they add another $100 because they say there is a difference in cost at times I had to take. I go online only to find that the times they said didn't exist at 100$ cheaper than my credit was. I recommend not dealing with them based on the fact that they seem fine with this.

Very upset. It made it difficult because I and my husband are handicap.
Bonita, I show that you booked the reservations on line and chose Spirit airlines. Spirit airlines charges for seating and when you checked in you had the option to choose a seat but would of had to pay for it. It does tell you if you do not pay and Spirit chooses for you, you may not be able to sit together, it clearly explained this. This is not the fault of Cheapoair, for we have no control over the airlines policies regarding seating. Also bag fees are your responsibility and again you pay online with Spirit at check in, or anytime after the reservation has been made. These are fees that the airline charges, and we have no way to collect these fees for them. I do apologize for the inconveniences you experienced, but all the opportunities to select seating, and bags were available to you as soon as you completed the reservation.

In February, we scheduled a round trip flight from Washington Dulles to Fort Lauderdale leaving on 4/5/15 and return on 4/12/15 on Frontier through CheapOAir. Because this was a Sunday leave and Sunday return we paid a premium. Two weeks later we receive an email from CheapOAir stating that the departure dates from Dulles and Fort Lauderdale were changed from Sunday to Monday. In the email they said that it was Frontier that changed the reservations and not CheapOAir.
I called CheapOAir and after the usual 20+ minutes I got someone on the line. They maintained that the move from Sunday to Monday was caused by Frontier and beyond CheapOAir's control. I explained the inconvenience -- to no avail. I then asked that they at least give me the lower Monday rates instead of the premium Sunday rates. They said that the rates were fixed in February and they could do nothing. I asked for a "supervisor" and got the same runaround - it was Frontier's fault.
I then called Frontier and they stated that during April they do NOT fly from Dulles to Fort Lauderdale! Believe it or not CheapOAir still blamed Frontier. I have learned a lesson... There are so many other more reputable, professional companies online that it is not worth dealing with a slipshod outfit like these guys. Buyer beware! Hope this helps you.

My husband and I booked two tickets to travel from the US to Tunisia in August 2014 via CheapOair.com. We were unable to take the flight due to airline (Air France) visa regulation issues. We called the agency to cancel the reservations and ask for a refund. And after prolonged conversations, they told us that we will have a credit of $4300 with Air France and that we have to pay $100 cancelation fees. And that we will have to pay $300/person rebooking fees when we rebook. AND that we only have one year to use this credit with the same airline. They did not refund us any cent but instead promised this credit on file valid for a year! Fair enough?
In March 2015 we started to plan for the same trip and to reclaim our credit from Air France during a low season booking. We want to travel in May which makes the price of all tickets much lower than it will be in August. So we called the airline and they denied completely that they have any ownership of our cancelled tickets from last August or that they owe us anything as credit. They see that the travel agency owns the tickets and that we have to re-book through them. So we called the agency to rebook and they claimed that since we have the credit with the airline itself, then they have no power over their "rules". Well, it turns out that the rules are as follows: We have to book the tickets with the same value of the credit OR MORE! This was not included in the initial agreement included in an email from CheapOair.com.
What blows our mind is that the current market price for tickets in the low season does not supersede the amount of the credit. We would like to use the credit we have with them even if partially. In other words, we would like to reserve again using any amount of the credit instead of losing it all! But NO! How else would helloair.com make more money? They have refused to book us without charging us and additional $1200 ($600/person) to make the difference. How does this make sense? We already have a credit of $4300 and the total ticket value now for the two of us is $3000. They can theoretically speaking keep the difference. Not only will they make money off the remainder of the credit, they want us to pay even more to make up the difference between the current ticket value in the market and the value of the CREDIT, our CREDIT!
They would not budge! They speak very rudely to us and we can barely understand their accent. They are mad employees who speak with so much anger to customers who would not have called if they had no issues! We are not millionaires and we cannot afford to waste this amount of credit. But we feel that it is cheaper to book at market rate than go through hell with this agency again trying to do the impossible to take what is our right from the start! We are deeply disappointed and never ever experienced such a robbery before. Please AVOID using them. Cheap does not mean you have the right in it or that you will even enjoy it. They care only about your credit card #.

I went through CheapOair to book a one way flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on March 17th, 2015. I also got their insurance with them in case I needed to cancel. That same day I called CheapOair because I had to cancel my flight. On their site it says that I have 2 hours to make a cancellation before any fees are charged. I was on hold for 45 minutes without any help.
On March 18th I called early in the morning around 7am and finally was able to speak with someone. The agent on the phone was sooooo rude. I'm a very polite person so for this agent to be straight unprofessional shocked me. I told him about my canceling the flight due to a work mix-up situation and that I got insurance with the flight. He was speaking so fast with a bad accent. I asked him politely to repeat slowly cause I could not understand him. He raised his voice and went back to speaking fast. After telling him again to slow down I was able to understand him. He tells me I could not cancel my flight because I'm not dying or ill and if I were to cancel I would have to pay 125 dollars. My flight was only 82 dollars. I explained to him how the insurance is falsely advertised because it does not say that when you pay for it. It says free cancellation.
He then began to raise his voice. I told him he was rude and i was going to report him. I hung up. I called again and was hold for 30 minutes. I figure I try the next day cause they got me so mad. Thought I'd calm down. Next day I tried calling. Again on hold without any help for 45 minutes. I waited long because I figure I'm not the only one having issues with them. After the day I spoke to the rude agent I haven't been able to cancel my flight. Their website it says if I don't make my flight they are going to charge me a fee. Obviously the agent did not care what profession I was in, that getting money from me was more important than me saving people's lives. I will never book with CheapOair again. And I highly suggest if you do book, never ever get the insurance cause it's worthless.

I would give one advice: don't book your flights with them (at least if you are not in the US). They use deceptive marketing techniques in order to fool you to buy your flight ticket with them. I explain: if you search for a flight they will give you only the price in US dollars. Like I live in New Zealand and absolutely all the other websites I checked were in NZ dollars. I didn't check the small lines saying it was in US dollars and I paid 300 dollars more than I should have done with the other websites, due to the wrong dollar currency. Obviously, when I asked to cancel my order, they said that it was indicated when purchasing (in very small) so I can't say anything. But I'm pretty sure it is a marketing technique used in order to attract the "distracted" customers like me.
This kind of deceptive techniques shouldn't be allowed but as long as there is no law, there is nothing to do except boycotting this website! I encourage you to buy only from honest and respectful websites and avoid this website for your flights!

I recently booked a flight from Santo Domingo to Fort Lauderdale using Cheapoair. A couple of days later I noticed a charge for their fee to my account. OK. Five days later, I received another charge which turned out to be for checked baggage. Looking at my account each day, there was never anything pending. In any event I had a online chat with them, and they said they had cancelled the fee since my plans had changed and I would not take the flight. A couple of days later, I noticed this had not been done, so I had another chat with them. The agent assured me the fee HAD been refunded. This morning, I received an email from them saying that, according to the airline, the fee was non-refundable, that the entire situation was the fault of the airline. It doesn't take much to admit a mistake and move on. Just don't lie. This was not a misunderstanding. Just lies.

I had a bad experience with CheapOAir. I was looking for a last minute flight out of London, and I was told by one of their agents to book a flight leaving from London Gatwick that afternoon with Icelandair. I booked the flight, and received a confirmation e-mail (but without a ticket number). When I got to the airport, the check-in counter told me I needed a ticket number for them to issue me my ticket and check me in.
I spent hours on the phone being told different accounts of false information, that they would consult different departments and e-mail me the ticket number and then never did, multiple times. The flight was delayed, otherwise I would have missed it completely due to their disorganization. I realize that I made the booking that morning, but I have no idea why they would have suggested I make that booking if they weren't able to confirm my payment information and issue my ticket in time for the flight.
When I was finally on the phone with someone helpful, they told me they wouldn't be able to issue me my ticket for the flight at all, as the flight time had already passed (even though the flight was delayed). He also told me that they had actually never processed the payment for the first flight, even though they said I had. I was extremely frustrated and really had to get home, yet I had been on the phone with CheapOAir on an airport payphone for hours. I could have found another flight surely, but because I had been told I had been booked on this flight, I thought I had to deal with the hassle and I didn't have any other option.
The agent I spoke with let me know that he couldn't help me find any other flights for that day, as I wouldn't make it from Gatwick to Heathrow on time. I had to rebook my flight for the next day. I'm also confident that I wouldn't even have gotten this help from the agents at CheapOAir, but the one man I spoke with (named ** ) was very helpful and seemed to feel bad for me. I had an extremely negative experience with CheapOAir. I felt that they were extremely disorganized and dishonest. Yes, I should have checked the names to make sure they were correct, but I was tired. When I forget to enter credit card information the website won't send purchase, and pops up with a reminder of what you forgot. But with the names for who the tickets are for, it automatically enters names that you have used in the past. One of the names it entered was correct, but the other one was not.
When I called the customer service, the automated voice said that the call volume was high and if I wasn't travelling in the next 7 days to e-mail their customer service and they will get back to me within a few hours. I e-mailed and never heard back, so I called again today. I ended up on hold for long amounts of time, and was told they could not change the name. They finally said they would cancel that ticket and get another one with the correct names but it would cost almost $50. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they hung up on me. I have a disability and currently walk with a crutch, so prior to the booking I insisted on an aisle seat so as not to have to deal with the pain of trying to get into a window seat or center seat. I was assured my seating arrangement would be aisle seats on all 4 of the flights I was to be travelling on. In fact if I were not promised that I would have aisle seats every flight along the way, I would not have booked. Needless to say, I eventually found out that I only had aisle seats on half the flights. Window or center seats on the other two flights. No amount of telephone calls or live chats made a difference. No aisle seats available for me.
I then asked for a refund if seating could not be arranged as promised. Just another brick wall. Blah, blah, blah, refund not possible. I am still waiting on a phone call from the "resolutions" department to see if I can be issued a refund. CheapOair has lied to me to get the booking, and won't make things right. Lied to, and now cheated out of a refund. Keep this in mind before you book with CheapOair.
Mr. Storch was offered 2 options to satisfy his concern, and he chose a full refund of his non refundable ticket, in which we gladly agreed to. Although seating cannot be guaranteed due to the airline can make changes to the flight, aircraft type, or a single time change can alter seats. It's always best to check the airline website for any updates or changes. You can also assign seating directly with the airline if it is that important to have a specific request many do offer preferred seating at a charge, but it will assure you get aisle, exit row, bulk head.

Guys this travel agency is an absolute joke. I took my girlfriend to Berlin for her bday and booked a flight for the 11th of March 2015 to return on the 13th. I also booked and air bnb apartment at the same time and meticulously checked both before confirming (my colleagues at work also witnessed). My flight was at 9am on the Wednesday so I was doing last minute packing on the Tuesday night. My sister saw my tickets and said "Are you back on Thursday? I thought you said Friday?" To my surprise I was returning on Thursday afternoon exactly 24 hours after landing. Outraged I called Cheapoair. I was speaking to an Indian chap called **. I already knew this would not be resolved easily!!
Alongside calling me 'mate' and 'buddy' continuously he was very unhelpful. He tried to insist the erroneous flights were my problem even though he admitted that not all flights are available and the system matches to the closest date. To rebook a ticket it would cost £231 plus the airline cancellation fee of £80. The original flight and return (which incidentally didn't become cheaper even though they changed the return) cost £159. This new price made no sense at all.
Upon being told I could not get a refund or the price deducted from the ticket I would not be using, the chap tried to coax the money out of me saying, "Don't let your girlfriend down. You will ruin her holiday." If he was close by I would have throttled him. We spent 2 and a half hours arguing the toss with him putting me on hold at least 5 times for up to 15 minutes at a time. His return line of "Hello matings" grew less humorous as time went on.
My girlfriend went on Skyscanner and found us Easyjet tickets that would cost £80 to come back at the time we wished. This made me wonder where the hell £231 came from. As it happens Berlin was lovely and I highly advise a trip there if you have not been. AVOID CHEAPOAIR AT ALL COSTS. NAME IS ALMOST A GIVE AWAY!!!

CheapoAir showed me a flight price for $1458. After I went through the whole booking process and gave them all my personal and credit card information, the website told me that the price is changed to $1680 and asked me to accept and the booking. Surely I cancelled because I think it is just a scam. Now I am concerned that they have all my information and credit card and I don't know what they do with my personal information.

Booked a flight on February 1st from Tampa, FL to Maracaibo, Venezuela on 3/9/2015 for my wife. A week prior to her leaving date Venezuela's government began to require Visas to US travelers. The closest Venezuelan Consulate to Tampa FL is in New Orleans (10 hrs. away). Not enough time to process a visa in time for departure so we contacted CheapOAir customer service on Friday and asked what could they do for us.
On Friday 3/6/2015 and after waiting for 30+ minutes to talk to a customer representative while listening to a pre-recorded repetitive message suggesting that I should consider email as the most convenient way of communication (mind you cancellations have to be done before the flight's time of departure), I was talking to someone who did not care to listen to my concerns but rather wanted to charge me "$85.00 for penalty fee for rescheduling the flight, plus the difference on the price of a prospect flight" (?). This representative did not care to acknowledge that my wife could not fly until she got around obtaining a visa in order to be admitted to Venezuela, he was just asking for money.
Given his inability to help me, I requested to talk to a supervisor (another wait time of 10+ minutes). I spoke to supervisor ** who told me that he was going to contact Copa Airlines to see about a possible refund and that most likely I was not going to get but $856 back from the $996 (plus taxes) that I have paid. He also said that he would contact me the next day to give me certainty about my choices. I told him that I did not agree with being penalized because the situation was beyond our control (sudden requested visa); the policies of cancellations of Copa Airlines use the word "involuntary" as a way to dismiss any responsibilities on their behalf for late arrivals as well as a possible need for rescheduling of flights.
These sudden requirement of visas to US travelers from the Venezuelan government resulted in an involuntary cancellation of the flight unless CheapOAir and Copa Airlines would rather have my wife try to board a plane to Venezuela w/o the necessary documentation to be able to enter the country of destination(?). He stated that he would need to contact Copa Airlines and then he would get back to me the next day. Supervisor ** never contacted me with the update.
On Sunday 3/8/2015 I decided to call customer service again. After going through the same motions I finally got to talk to a Female supervisor whom stated that there was no update from **. At that time I decided to cancel the trip formally and requested a refund. Supervisor stated that she was going to contact ** (not available), and I would get some feedback. On Monday 3/9/2015 at about 8:30 pm I called back seeking to learn something about the refund. I waited for 52 minutes to get a representative on the line to no avail. I hung up the phone. Then I proceeded to request feedback through the electronic page. No response as of today 3/13/2015. Dissatisfied? You bet.

Okay, to be fair, I wasn't even the original person booking but I will never book with them. My friend booked a flight, and her card was declined so she needed to do it again. She's international so she set it up so I was her POC. Again no issues here. Here is where the problem comes. They call me to advise that the credit card was down, then they RUSH through the number so you barely hear it, thank god for iphones, you can hit replay over and over, and then it's not even the right number. And how did I figure that out? Please wait for someone to answer the phone, I sat through 7 (AMAZING OFFERS) according to the voice on the phone, when I finally thought I was going to get a human being, a new voice says, “this is the incorrect number, please write this # down and hang up the phone.”
I don't usually complain, I have two phone jobs myself so I know how it is, but what astounds me is that they left me TWO voicemails with the same incorrect number, if I'm trying to take care of business, it's pretty hard to get anything done with this kind of service on a time crunch. When I finally just hit call back on my caller ID, the man was anything if apologetic, didn't listen to what I needed from him, "the best number for my friend to internationally dial to get some decent service" I was livid. He was yelling at me, and I'm in customer service, the moment you yell, you not only lost me, but any recommendations I would have ever given. I would never book through them, and I'm not sorry.

I booked two tickets to Rome for over $1800 which was charged twice on my credit card. This has maxed out my credit card and caused me to miss out on other trips that I wanted to take on the week-end. I called and was given an authorization number to take to my bank to have the refund put back on my card. When I went to the bank they told me that this is not the way a refund is handled. When I called back to cheap-o-air I was told that I should not have received that authorization number and the rep was able to 3-way me to my bank to confirm that I will be refunded the amount in a few days. This did not help as I missed out on a trip that I had planned to take on the week-end.
No one should be allowed to double dip from your credit card without your permission. I expected that if this needed to happen then I should have been contacted and I could have known about this ahead of time and make other plans for my week-end instead of getting a surprise when I try to book another ticket. The rep that 3-way me to my bank was nice enough and knew what she was talking about but I spoke to other reps who were not very helpful and just kept on getting frustrated and repeating "yes ma’am, but ma’am" throughout the conversation which was very annoying. I have used one travel before and did not have a problem. I know mistakes happen, but because it impacted my week-end trip, I'm not sure I'll use cheap-o-air again.....
Updated on April 14, 2015: I wrote a review about what happen to me while dealing with this company and just now looked at the review and noticed that the company is disputing my claim. This is terrible. What I wrote was exactly what happen and I'm still having problems with them. I wish someone from the company would call me and tell me that what I wrote about did not happen. My goodness how low can these people be. Today I tried calling them and was on hold for over an hour so I hang up the phone. Once they have your credit card and they take your money to hell with you even if they book you out in the Pacific Ocean for a hotel; you obviously have no recourse. I'll go back to the old way of booking a trip. I'll go into an office and book my future trips with a travel agent that I can see. I dislike bad business practice.

Last summer my family had to cancel our trip, so we ended up with $2600+ credit and obligation to pay $135/per person penalty (+difference in ticket price if any) upon re-booking. Yesterday we attempted to re-book flight and ticket price advertised is almost $300 less per ticket than what we paid last summer. I didn't expect to have any refunds, but excess amount should have at least cover penalty and make us break even. Instead, I was requested to pay extra $606. When I requested precise explanation of charges, phone representative couldn't make it clear to me and offered to be transferred to supervisor for further discussion. After over 45 minutes on hold, I was hanged up on... No explanation email, no apologies, no clear understanding on how 2 tickets offered at $952/per person (including tax) ended up costing us almost $3300.

I booked a car. Paid $250 for the 3 days use of it. A remainder was due, per the contract, for $50 dollars to the rental car company. I also paid for insurance. I arrived to the car rental place only to find that the location was not an "in airport" facility as requested, but way outside the airport. The rental company had no idea what CheapOair was. They did not honor the contract, and did not have any money from CheapOair.
I contacted several people from CheapOAir with plenty of documentation, because the rental car company charged me -- so far-- about $1000 for the three days. I have the names of the people from New York whom I contacted in the CheapOair headquarters, follow up emails, an offer to settle the matter, and plenty of documentation. This occurred on February 13. As of this writing 3/10 I have not received any response from CheapOair.

I recently purchased flights to Galapagos Islands via Cheap O Air, received booking confirmation email- all looked fine. The next day I check my credit card statement online to find I have been charge the total amount 3 times. Of course not impressed as this is in the sum of thousands of dollars, so I go to booking confirmation email, find "Customer assistance form" stating they will get back to you within 24 hours, so filled out the form as required and still days later have not received a reply. I also then followed up via their website email contact, still also await a reply, found they have a on line live chat service so I thought I would try this avenue, once selected the wait time was over 300 minutes.
I eventually got through to somebody the next day via live chat who then was kind enough to pass on the billing department email address, so basically handled me to another dead end at this stage. Have also tried to contact via phone no provided, however found it impossible to connect from Ecuador. So basically once they have their money there is no customer service at all, and your credit card details are "NOT SAFE" with this company. I have followed up my Bank to investigate this issue to refund the monies overcharged!! I am also wondering now if I turn up on the day of my flight to the airport that I will actually be able to get on the plane? If I get a reply from Cheap O Air I will update on here of their response and action taken to help their customer out! Not impressed at this stage.

My mother purchased tickets for some members of the family to go to Florida. When purchasing it online she thought she was doing the smart thing by purchasing the insurance that says it covers your tickets, but only in extreme cases (which isn't made clear that you cannot cancel due to job or school no longer giving permission to have off, typical life events).
Her and I sat down and messaged the online support to see what we could do and what the insurance would let us do because the children we are bringing can no longer go due to extended recent illness keeping them from school and having to not miss more time at the end of their year in May due to state testing. The agent informed us it doesn't cover a refund and when we asked: "Oh geez okay. So in reality the insurance is not worth the cost because there has to be a death or natural disaster basically. ** 9:05 PM. “Yes, you can say that.” ** 9:06 PM. This is the response that we received. Even the customer service agent said, “Yes the insurance is not worth the cost.”
This company sells bogus insurance, because it would cover real life events also if they actually cared. We will make sure that we let the many people in our lives know when they travel not to use this site. There are definitely better companies out there, and the fact that someone isn't so keen to all the money making tricks travel companies have, shouldn't cost them financially. She was trying to do a nice surprise for the grandchildren, and has learned her lesson the expensive way. The least that could be done is refund the useless insurance cost to her for the seven tickets.

So I called CheapOAir before my flight in December to confirm that I could cancel the flight without penalty and have a year to reuse the tickets being that I bought travelers insurance, etc. because I was having family issues and needed to cancel. Well, I learned today that I do not have a flight at all for my son and myself because CheapOAir states I did not cancel the flights, now I paid $1968 and some change with insurance. I was told to contact British Airways to cancel the flight first, then British Airways stated I had to do it through CheapOAir all of this was done.
So being that I needed to use these tickets this year, and who would cancel or think they had cancelled tickets costing almost two grand without some kind of statement that they would be able to use said tickets within a year? Again I was told to call British Airways well they told me again to call CheapOAir and I had to recall British Airways stating that they did not keep tickets if someone does not use them if not sick. Both are telling me that I have nothing because apparently British Airways has the money and CheapOAir being the place I booked the flights has nothing. I even received an email from CheapOAir asking if I wanted to rebook my return flight and if I did not then to email them back, of which I did. Now CheapOAir has no records of me calling to cancel, British Airways has no tickets, and I am out of the money and tickets!!!!!

Cheapoair is big scam. Do not prefer them and the customer care has no moral values at all. They are very cheap unorganized labour. Coming to the point my air ticket cost was $311 and after I booked with cheapoair I have seen 283 in us airways site for the same airfare. Well since my employer delayed my joining date I had to cancel it and they have charged $25 for cancellation apart from 311 and give me a credit of 283 out of which us airways would penalize $200 so at the end of the day I have lost a total of $200+25+28=253 and the credit of 83 left after penalty has to be used again with cheapoair which sucks. Serious these airways and especially cheapoair kind of broker people are robbing people's money. Time to look for a new one and throw this cheapoair in garbage. I sincerely do not recommend cheapoair.

I booked a non-refundable Norwegian flight from LAX to London. A week later, Norwegian airline changed the flight schedule that impacts my trip. I called the Norwegian airline. Norwegian indicated it will let the impacted customers change schedule without charging fees or get a full refund because Norwegian made the flight schedule change at first. Since I booked my flight via CheapOair, Norwegian airline asked me contact CheapOair to make any change or refund. I called CheapOair. First several phone calls, the CheapOair told me they won't be able to refund my airfare. Eventually, CheapOair verified with Norwegian airline and agreed FULL REFUND is an option for impacted customers. CheapOair told me "I have called its Billing Department to ask refund." I called Billing/Refund departments - they asked me to call Scheduled change department first.
My phone calls never got transferred to the right persons. There were 4 phone calls, I got put on hold by the CheapOair representatives because they said they need call the airline or manager for verifying information. All 4 calls I waited online more than 1 hours, the representatives never came back. I submitted email requests via CheapOair website. They didn't respond the email requests either. It seems all representative are well-trained to avoid to issuing a refund to customers. If they say they need put your phone call on hold basically you will be on hold forever. Or you got transferred to a NEW representative - he/she will ask repeat the issue and put you on hold again... never end.

I booked a nonstop flight to Cancun a couple nights ago through CheapOair online. My flight was booked from April 21st and returning the 27th nonstop both ways. Immediately after the transaction CheapOair took out their fee while Jet Blue was pending. I didn't receive an email confirmation so after calling 2 days in a row they switched my flight and had me returning the 30th and said "it may have messed up through the internet but they can fix it for a fee which would be over 400 plus the difference in flight price". They then claim I got no email because I also wrote the wrong email. The company is a scam and a fraud. I went through Jet Blue who was also no help and was told this happens often when people like myself choose to book through 3rd parties (so rude) even though I was not far over the 24hr period.. My flight which was a little over 800 is now almost 1300 and also a 3 hour layover returning!! Never Again with either company!

I use the IPad app for booking. The process within the app is straightforward, except at no point until you see the credit card transaction are you aware it is calculated in US$. After completing booking I received a message from Amex telling me my payment had been declined. I spent some time on the app and the website looking for an email address and sent off the first email indicating my card had been declined and I needed to pay. The response was relatively rapid and suggested I ring a 1800 number, which in Australia is a local phone call. I could not connect. Selected online help chat which dropped out 3 times. Sent another email. Response did not acknowledge my location, simply assumed I was in USA. The website search indicated your 3 locations, so now I had become aware of where this was happening.
Significant delays ensued, so we booked another flight in my friend's name and paid. This time, the booking app changed our dates again to save money. That is great, but maybe when the new flights come up, the change in date could be highlighted on this screen?
I did receive another email, I completed an online feedback form and now have an Australian contact number, which is not on your website! The next morning I received a phone call to resolve my problems. My experience was positive overall, but could have been less stressful if there was a contact number link which would connect to the nearest help centre. The attitude and helpfulness of most of your staff has made me confident in using CheapOair again.

But when I called/chatted with customer care on 03/02 and 03/03 they were continuously mentioning to go through the policy, which is “Non-Refundable”. The offer said, "Accept or decline," no mention about refund, time frame. I clicked "decline" and called back the next day. I was told I had to pay again, (although same airlines) and I would be reimbursed in a few days. This was friday, and monday I would get my money back. This has been my problem ever since. I was misinformed about reimbursement. I was told it takes 30 days after the request was send 1/23. Now 3/3/15, still no money back. Just talked to billing and this might take 1 to 2 billing cycles. Very unhappy. Staff is understanding, but I still have no money back. I do not recommend CheapOair.
