We booked 2 tickets to India from Charlotte. Itinerary said that Charlotte to Newark to Mumbai to Bangalore. It did not have that there will be a stopover at Brussels with about 3 hrs of wait time where you have to get down with your carry on luggage!! Called customer service and someone called Alfanso was very disrespectful. I spent about 15 mins on the phone and it was useless. Very disappointed.

Be careful when looking at CheapOair's website. The site has a box that you can check to look at information about insurance, but once you have checked it, they add the charge, you actually have to remove the insurance at check out or it will be charged.

Due to personal error I called to change flight. I was quoted a minimal price change and call was put on hold. Call was dropped, but I didn't know and waited on line. When I finally realized and called back, price had increased!! Your agent was polite and did try to accommodate. I suggest that if you must put customer on hold, play music so customer is aware if call is dropped and doesn't waste time on the line, which in my case cost me! I also think charging for a seat assignment is "nickel diming" the customer, and should be eliminated.

Jet Blue could not find my reservation; turns out CheapOair had passed on wrong/incomplete name; other errors could have really messed up check-in/boarding. Deliberately signed up for Blue Plus because it allows one checked bag (~$15 extra); Jet Blue had no record of this and it rolled into the basic fare - losing my $15. Wrong KTN number on booking. Jet Blue recommended dealing with them directly in future.

On Dec.4th, I rented a car via cheapOair.com (11 days) for $600, and I also chose the travel protection plan and I paid $110 for this plan. In my confirmation page, in the Price Detail section, it was mentioned that the total price includes tax and surcharges. When I went to the company to get the car, It was surprising that they asked me to pay extra money for car insurance and tax and I paid $341 again. So now I paid (600+341=941) for renting a compact car!!! It means about $95 per day!!! I called to CheapOair customer service several times (MY FIRST CALL WAS ABOUT 15 DAYS BEFORE) about these problems and I have not got any call back from CheapOair to solve my problems. I WANT TO KNOW WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR TWICE?

I am so upset with this company. I initially tried to book online and was told I needed to call to get the rates, which I did. The salesperson actually called me back twice offering me better rates as I was not interested in the high rates I was quoted. He finally gave me a rate I was happy with... Recited the dates back to me and I went for it. Today, as I was printing my itinerary out, the dates are not the ones I booked!! Lo and behold, the dates I really want are like $200 more! They were willing to refund my money, but I am so angry. I had to plead with my boss to get a day off that I wasn't scheduled to have... Still waiting to hear... I will never deal with this company again.

I've bought my plane tickets to Monterrey Mex on 12/14/2015 from ORD. CheapOair debited my card $852.00 in addition. CheapOair without my authorization charge me a travel protection plan. In addition United Airlines charge me $691.76. When I've arrived at ORD on 12/21/2015 to check in I was told by the ticket agent that my tickets were VOIDED. She give me a p# to call, so I called the number and I was told that in fact the tickets were VOIDED and if I still wanted to flight to Monterrey, Mex that they were still tickets available but that I would have to PAID for the tickets again for the 3rd time.
So I went ahead and paid another $800.52 The CheapOair representative told me that my money will be refunded back to my debit card, but it pass over two (2) weeks and still no refund. Every time I've called the agency it takes over 2 hours before somebody answers the phone, and every time they tell you something different. I have talked to a supervisor name JIBRIL. He told me no to worry but nothing happens so CHEAPOAIR ruined my XMAS VACATION. THE WORSE TRAVEL AGENCY.

This website is not at all transparent and will not inform you of layovers. I had booked a trip from Edmonton, AB to Sydney, Nova Scotia with one 1 hour and 20 minute layover in Toronto. This is what we booked and what was indicated to me on my itinerary. We ended up stopping in Ottawa, to pick up more passengers, which isn't a big deal, as we did not need to get off the plane and it maybe only added an hour max on the tarmac. What I did have a problem with was the LAYOVER in Halifax as well. None of this was communicated to us, we ended up getting off the plane for a few hours, and then when we finally got to leave, about 20 minutes into our flight from Halifax to Sydney, we had hit a bird (no one's fault) and had to turn around and make an emergency landing back in Halifax.
We were then told a plane would not be available until the following day. I had to rent a car and drive the additional 4 hours to get home. When calling CheapOair and upset about being stuck in Halifax, even though we were never to be there in the first place, they were unwilling to help as "a portion of the flights had been used," so they would do nothing to compensate us for all the wasted time (almost an additional 6 hours in the airport, due to additional layovers) and the personal expense of renting a vehicle to get home. They have TERRIBLE customer service, and I will never book a trip with them again.

I'm having a problem completing the informations for the online booking. I called CheapOair for help completing the booking. I specifically told him that I have a problem booking the round trip tickets. Also I ask for an aisle seat and the ticket was charged to my credit card. Later I ask for the confirmation number. I saw the amount of $807.80 charge in my credit card by Philippine Airline (PAL). Thinking that processing was complete.
The next day my wife beg me to change my departure schedule to Jan.6, 2016 due to her back surgery. I called PAL to reschedule my flight to 01/06/2016. That's the time I learn that I was book one way only. I spoke to both PAL and CheapOair and they insist I book one way online. Maybe that is shown in the computer record but whoever I spoke to CheapOair to correct the round trip ticket did not do his job. I need a refund or compensation for this extra charges. I paid $1769+ for this trip instead of $1041+ including penalty.

Our air travel booking experience with them was extremely dissatisfactory. What we gathered when we called them on 24th Dec. at the time of online check-in for our flight on 25 Dec.: that both me and my spouse had been alloted separate middle seats, that Air Canada does not favour any bookings made by them, and also CheapOair failed to realize our agony of traveling separate saying that you have saved money booking with us. First of all I can see the prices on their site, but I called an agent to make sure they were correct. Of course they are not correct. In the 30 seconds it took to get a booking agent the price had gone up 100$. I said "ok fine book it". After I give her my card number she tells me that the price has gone up again, 14$ which was fine because she told me for that fee I could choose my seats which is great because my wife and toddler were the ones that would be flying. They should sit next to each other. However I felt at this point the fees and lying were just too much and this was the 3rd time they changed the price on me, so I said "forget it." Keep on mind she has my card number at this point.
She tells me to hold on that she might be able to get it cheaper. I hold for about 30 minutes and then my cell phone dies. She decides to go ahead and book the trip for me anyway, how thoughtful. It took another few hours of work to get my refund from CheapOair but I still have not been refunded the money that went to the airline. I have used them many times in the past and am aware of the seating "Policy" fees but I found the tickets cheaper elsewhere and will just call the airlines directly next time.
I love how it takes 2 seconds to charge your card and 2 weeks to get your money back. My advice would be to do all of your legwork before deciding to book your tickets. Also you will never be guaranteed seats without speaking to the airlines. I have paid fees so many times for seats together and have never once gotten the seats I paid for and have always had an issue at the gate.

I later learn that my last name was abbreviated with three characters. I called to speak with a customer services specialist on 12/17/15 at 9:45 am. The specialist took 45 mins before discovering my last name was spelled incorrectly.
Next, he accused me of enter my last name wrong when booking this flight. I certainly know how to spell my full name and something happen when the transaction was executed. Needless to say, I missed my flight and in order to be confirmed on the next flight requires additional $75. CheapOair failed on the customer and REFUSED to comp the $75 change fee. In fact, the Supervisor name Andor refused to provide the previous customer service specialist name and he wanted to argue with me (the customer) and American Airline Ticketing Supervisor. American Airline Supervisor waived the $75 because it was the right thing to do by the customer only if CheapOair changed the last name on the reservation.
Today, December 29, 2015 I have called the corporate office number to file a complaint only to get re-routed to the call center. When speaking to the customer service specialist they seem very confused about a corporate number and don't know what to do. I kept repeating myself in asking for the corporate office number or to be transferred. I don't wish to speak with the call center. Once again, I receive poor customer services. I will NEVER purchase tickets online through CHEAPOAIR as they prove to provide CHEAP SERVICE. I experienced this two weeks when wanting to purchase a ticket for my daughter to travel along with me. I was unable to purchase it online for her since she's a minor and have already had purchased my ticket so I called their agent online. The online price was listed at $1,150 (including taxes, fees and insurance) while her price was close to $1,500. She continued to tell me that the prices change every 10 minutes as if I'm some idiot who has never traveled before. It is when I simply told her "Shame on you for cheating and price gouging! As a customer of yours who have purchased tickets every year and I never, never purchase from CHEAPOAir before". She went quiet and I hanged up on her as I went directly to Lufthansa and purchased the ticket for a lot less than her deal. ($1,200)
In the meantime I had already had purchased tickets for my parents a while ago so yesterday they were leaving. I called CHEAPOAIR and received terrible customer service, no knowledge in fixing the issue and everything leads to a "dead end" for the traveler as per our experience. I needed to have my parents flight changed due to the Schengen visa required when traveling within two airports in Europe. My parents instead of traveling from MCO-FRA; FRA-VIE; VIE-PRN needed MCO-FRA; FRA-PRN, in which case according to cheapoair agent they are "unable to re-route any ticket and the only solution for me was to cancel my tickets and receive no refund," basically have them eat my $$$$.
I could not believe the services they provided yesterday as the first agent hanged up on me after telling me to wait a minute until he looks for the flight and the second just barely speaks any English. If it wasn't for the Lufthansa and the United booking angels at the Orlando airport we received zero, and I mean ZERO help from a CHEAPOAIR Agent. At the end he said "what did she do to fix this?" I stated "she did what you were supposed to do because according to your words "CHEAPOAIR cannot re-route or change a ticket as per Airline rule." TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, SHAME ON YOU CHEAPOAIR!

He then came back on the phone and told me the hotel denied the cancellation and that the money would not be refunded. He told me that the no return policy was clearly posted on the web page. Search for hotel Wing International Ikebukuro on their site if you would like to see for yourself that no such policy is posted.
I contacted the hotel myself, and then through a friend who speaks Japanese and as told that the issue is with the booking agency not the hotel. I called CheapOair's hotel booking service, and they claim that the hotel has not responded to their email request. The rooms are listed at $62. I was charged $744 for a single night and told that I would not receive a refund. Even though the booking was made weeks in advance and I tried to fix the problem within a few hours of the booking. I feel like it's important to warn people that if there is a mistake made you may have just lost your money.

I was looking to modify my itinerary depending on the fees I would get charged, and wanted to make a decision based on the customer service rep's advice. He recommended me to cancel the flight altogether because there is no cancellation fee, and rebook the whole flight with the credit. I took his advice and cancelled it and called them later after researching for better deals. What I found was shocking. They canceled only my itinerary and left my husband's itinerary alone even though the booking was for 2 people, let alone I didn't specify them to cancel only mine. They told me I had to pay for the rebooking fee and the price difference on the tickets. After spending 1 and a half with the customer service rep trying to resolve the issue, I told him to hold off on canceling my husband's itinerary for the moment, and I would call back again to decide what to do about the whole thing.
When I called them again, I found that they canceled my husband's also, regardless of what I specifically told him, to leave my husband's itinerary as is. The third guy told me that the ticket was actually refundable with the $600 cancellation fee altogether. I was in shock and demanded to talk to the manager, and he said someone would call me back within 24 to 48 hours after the investigation. However, I never received a call from them. I called again to go ahead with the $400 rebooking to keep the trip going anyway, to end the horrendous drama with cheapoair.com to use the credit. And the 4th service rep told me that I couldn't book the ticket with the price on cheapoair.com at the moment, because my booking is "not" freshbooking. He said they go directly into the airline company system so I was not able to utilize the ticket price online on cheapoair.com. I ended up paying $188 higher than the price on their website at the moment.
So I told them I'd rather pay $600 refund fee and get the credit to my card, and he let me know that my ticket was never refundable because I chose future credit. I was left no choice than to go ahead with the booking altogether. I finally received the changed itinerary via email, but seat assignments were not changed from the original booking. I went to live chat to verify my seat assignments, being so tired of talking to a customer rep for average of 1 hour or more, and the agent on the live chat told me I had to pay $144 price difference for seat assignments. Being so frustrated, I called the customer service again to confirm my seat assignments with a person. He told me that my seat assignments remained the same as is from the first itinerary. I felt that dealing with cheapoair.com was just purely waste of time. I called the airline with the confirmation number and found that my husband's info was not there, and it was only one person.
I called cheapoair.com again to see what is really going on again, and they said each passenger has their own confirmation number even though I chose seat assignments for all passengers initially. I finally got the second confirmation number for my husband and called the airline again to complete the booking myself. I find cheapoair.com customer service department is a bunch of incompetent people who have no ideas of what they are supposed to do. I also find them not fluent in English, and they really don't understand what the customer is saying at all. I will never deal with cheapoair.com ever again. This has been a pure nightmare, and I ended up paying for $700 worth of penalty and fare difference, when I didn't have to change anything in the first place.

Cheapoair.com changed my flight schedules 3 times, messed up all my plan. This is my first time using cheapoair for buying air ticket and also my last one. I have never been in this situation with other Web sites or from my travel agency (my flight schedules have never been changed, even once!!). BTW, cheapoair customer services are not at all friendly. They said that they just sell the tickets and claimed that it was American Airlines that changed my flight schedule. Then I guess: By buying the air ticket from cheapoair, they will buy American Airline tickets at cheap prices, leading to very low priority. By consequence, American Airlines can change the flight schedule anytime or American Airlines are just bad!
Either way, we should not buy air ticket at cheapoair neither American Airlines as they also have bad ranking in customer services already. One more thing, the ticket I bought from cheapoair has similar price to other web sites or travel agency, not cheap either. The reason I didn't buy from my travel agency this time was just because she was not available at the time.

So now I'm stuck in an airport not in another state with wrong flight date. So I call to fix this (at an additional charge) and tell them of their mistake and I need it asap. So he gives me a new flight and my trust is gone, so I say "how long before this is confirmed and I can get my ticket? This new flight leaves in 1 & a half hours." He said no more than an hour. So an hour goes by. No confirmation. I ask the airline to check on it. This time he makes it for that date of the month but an entire month out!!
So I called and cancelled everything, only got half the refund back and waiting on the other half. That's an entire new complaint. I never got a native english speaker until last time I called. This guy seems helpful, I was asking about my refund. English is his first language. So ask for Blake if you do use this service. I was charged $14.95 for Traveler's Assistance, which is supposed to enable me to select my seats. However, the Interactive maps of the airplanes are not yet available. The reps have no idea when I can select my seats; I must have extra leg room on long flights and am very concerned about getting the appropriate seat. I need to speak to someone who can help me with this matter... preferably someone in the U.S. Interestingly enough, when I booked the flights, I spoke to a rep who was understandable; yet no one in Customer Service is sufficiently helpful. They also misspelled my last name.

Very dissatisfied with our first experience buying tickets with CheapOair. We got charged twice for the visa fees, and when I tried to call them, the first customer representative hung up the phone. The second one was trying to help and transferred me to a different department. I had to wait for 25 minutes until I got tired. Never called me back, although I had given my number in case we got disconnected. Also, according to the itinerary, we arrive at one airport, and have to make the connecting flight from a different airport in the same city, which means we have to pay for the cab. I am a frequent flyer, and have never heard of anything like that. First and last time dealing with this company.

Just about the worst experience with CheapOAir. I was involved in a serious accident at a remote area and needed to get back home to get better care. CheapOAir really gave me a hard time and basically tried to exploit the situation and made me pay more than $550 of penalty. After multiple representatives promising to call back but never did and finally after about 5 hours on the phone and speaking to supervisors, they insist that the best price of $450 penalty is what the airline requires. However, after refusing such a hike of price by CheapOAir and bear and grin of a much worse injury than I was told, and after I made to Hong Kong airport and talked to Hong Kong Airline representative, the penalty by the airline is $60, not $450.
CheapOAir essentially lied to me multiple times and acted very unprofessionally with multiple promises of returning calls but simply ignored my request of call back and updates. I am a frequent traveler and visiting 2-3 new countries a year. I have not made a single reservation at CheapOAir site now almost a year later and have absolutely no interest in making any future reservations. Dealing with such a dishonest company is a waste of time and they are no way to be counted on if you encounter true life emergencies.

In truth, this was a very expensive error. I was on the phone for an hour. I lost all I had saved in my original deal. My travel time was extended. However, this was an incredible experience for me because of the travel assistant on the other end of the line. She worked patiently, to understand my issue, call multiple airlines, work times and schedules, and hunted on my behalf. She really tried, and it meant the world to me. She made what would have been a sad experience into something positive. It's amazing that that was even possible.

My first message: I am very angry at CheapOair. My booking number is **. I went to Delta this morning and they couldn't find my flight. Turns out they booked me a flight in which was cancelled months ago and never notified me. I was suppose to go to Vietnam for a wedding and I have flights and cruises booked already there. The agent that helped me was courteous and wasn't her fault that she couldn't help me. But the only thing they could offer me was a refund and to help me find a "cheaper" flight as a replacement. I originally booked this flight back in September for 1200. Now this cheaper flight will cost me 2700. I accepted earlier this morning because I wasn't thinking straight and was afraid. Now I just cancelled this flight, because why should I have to repay this penalty for a mistake that was not my fault? I am going to call CheapOair and demand they help me with another flight. This is NOT quality customer service.
They completely ruined my holiday. I had planned this amazing vacation with my girlfriend that is already over in Vietnam as she left a week early. Now we are separated and I am stuck here because of their mistake. It is their responsibility to help me. A refund is simply not good enough. They need to be working with the airlines to get me another flight, though it's getting too late for it now. As of right now they are still not helping me.

I called their Customer Service number and was able to get their flights rescheduled, however during the 3 hours, and 8 telephone calls I had to make (as I was transferred multiple times, and disconnected multiple times and placed on hold for excessive amounts of time) another team member missed his flight.
Now not only do I have to re-book his flight, but now my company has to pay additional room and board as this employee had to travel to get to the airport, and we have to re-schedule his training for another date as he will not be able to attend the one he is scheduled to attend here. These losses to my company stem directly from the lack of Customer support and excessive hold and transfer times with their "customer service" and "fraud prevention" departments. As a longtime traveler, I have never been more dissatisfied with a booking company. We purchased travel insurance and read all of the provided information and felt that we would be able to safely book our flight even though one of our passports was pending - suddenly Service Canada rejected our passport without notice and since we live in a very remote part of Canada, we had to change our flight - which shouldn't be an issue according to the guarantees with insurance.
Long story short, I have never been spoken down to so much in my life. It took me three days to resolve the issues we had and at least 3 hours on hold until I was finally connected to a very helpful woman named Kathryn who resolved our issue. I did not appreciate the way I was spoken to and I was certainly not impressed with the service I was given. In addition, after the issue was resolved, I called back to see about our reservation number and again I was met with a very condescending sales rep who clearly felt I was incompetent. On 2015-06-28, I booked a series of flights to Moscow through CheapOAir. The series of flights included two operated by TransAero: Flight 2222 (JFK to VKO, 2015-12-21) and Flight 1111 (VKO to JFK, 2016-01-13). The total cost for the flights was $800.80. The domestic legs of the flight were operated by JetBlue, but the international legs were operated by TransAero.
On 2015-10-12, CheapOAir notified me via email that TransAero had filed for bankruptcy. The initial plan was that TransAero flights would be filled by another carrier, presumably the Russian Aeroflot. However, as TransAero fell deeper into debt, the Russian Federation terminated its operating agreement in mid-October, shortly after I received the notice.
On 2015-10-15, CheapOAir requested that I call them regarding the flight. I did so, and the customer service agent suggested that I cancel all four flights (two between SFO and JFK, and two between JFK and VKO), as it was unlikely that any substitute airline would pick up TransAero's flights. I agreed, and the customer service agent stated that I would be refunded. On 2015-10-16, CheapOAir successfully refunded their booking fee on the flight (about $8). However, the cost of the flights themselves (about $800) was NOT refunded.
Starting on 2015-10-28, and over the following months, I repeatedly contacted CheapOAir regarding the flights. Note that, as of this time, the TransAero website was down, the company had completely dissolved, and there was nobody to contact. I asked CheapOAir to expedite the refund. I shared my concerns: TransAero was roughly $1.2 billion dollars in debt, and was also expected to default on AirBus and Boeing contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. As a result, I expected that many creditors would lose money, and attempted to impress upon CheapOAir the importance of refunding my money in a timely manner.
They repeatedly asked me to wait for two months, and stated that the refund was on its way. On 2015-12-15, having waited two months, I initiated a chargeback with Wells Fargo, my credit card issuer. They are attempting to process the chargeback now. Wells Fargo stated that the fact that I had waited nearly six months from the charge date may jeopardize my ability to get a refund.

On Nov 25, 2015 I had booked tickets online for 3 of my staff to meet me in India from Vancouver. CheapoAir had provided through the itinerary entailed a 23 hour stopover in China. Since myself and team were not sure about the layover in China if we could leave the airport or not, we spoke with CheapoAir to ask what the conditions were. They insisted that there would be no problem to travel through China en route to India with a temporary 24 hour transit visa, since the CheapOair itinerary was just shy of 24 hours layover.
When the team went to get on the plane in Vancouver, the airlines rejected them altogether to enter the country as they said a 72 hour visa was needed in advance, since CheapOair had a second short layover in China beforehand that would not make the temporary on arrival visa possible. When calling the embassy, we further discovered that a 72 hour visa isn't possible when multiple city plane transfers are on the itinerary through China. So in the end it was virtually impossible for us to travel to India on the itinerary that CheapOair provided. There is clearly a mass inefficiency in both the online tool to book and the knowledge of the CheapOair staff.
What hurt us the most was the CheapOair representatives did not show any care, mercy or attention for the fact that 3 people were completely stranded, no offers were made by Cheapoair to help us out and they blamed us for the mistake of not knowing the Visa requirements, when they themselves told us it would be okay and provided this itinerary that didn't work. They were very quick to be defensive and place blame on us, since it was booked online and in the terms and conditions it states it's up to the consumer to deal with all things Visa oriented. I understand that, but if that's the case they should NOT offer advice when making bookings. Their advice is what has caused these issues, and since we didn't understand beforehand the importance of background checking everything CheapOair provides and says, we've now lost all of our money and a week's time, missing the trip all together.
Not because of their lack of help, but because of their lack of respect from 4 different representatives in a time of sincerely desperate need is the reason why I will never book with them again. Important note is that I have spent close to $50,000 on business travels using CheapOair and you would think I'd be considered a great customer that they could try to help out a bit. But instead just a terrible experience all around. If I couldn't get help, I doubt anyone could. We were very reasonable but nothing was offered at all. Not even a free flight change, a mere discount for changing, a suggested alternate or a negotiation that would help my staff and keep me as a customer. We placed 4 phone calls from each of my staff and myself, all with the exact same results. Very disturbing.
Bottom line: CheapOair when booking on long international flights gives you the most risqué itineraries, and claims to know what they are talking about with transferring in cities but does not. Do not trust them for international flights. Only use for domestic and hope you don't have to deal with a representative. And read the fine print. Total losses: $2883.48 USD on plane tickets, $800 for emergency hotel rooms for 3 nights, 7 nights of cancellation for teams hotels in India, and $1300 to rebook all my staff back home since the trip to India is not possible anymore and CheapOair has done nothing for us. Thanks for absolutely nothing CheapOair.

I guess it was a flag to someone watching over the Internet and I was called by a booking agent. I was very angry at the time because I had tried to book a flight through another website and they gave me a very difficult time and I lost a very good deal. I will say I did not get as good a deal financially but the person assisting me was very kind and patient and helped me gain my composure. I noticed my card wasn't charged and followed up. When you phone you get passed around like a ball, the flight was never booked by CheapOair then they tried to rub off another flight to me in the hopes of resolving the complaint that made matters worse. They gave me a rubbish excuse that they still needed to speak to my bank and cardholder before charging the flight, why then have an online payment portal? Poor service, dishonest consultants and will never use them again nor refer people.

I have been on the line with these guys for 2 hours because my flight got cancelled. So lets back track. On Sunday I get an email informing me one of my flight have been cancelled and to acknowledge I have received the email and to accept a refund. That would be great if a) that was the only flight I had (I have another connecting flight) and b) if I wasn't on a deadline to be elsewhere. I call in, only to be informed the department that deals with flight changes is closed on sundays (funny since airlines operate and change flights around the schedule, you would think they would keep their phone lines open 24/7 as well). I kept calling different departments until I finally reached a department that was answer by a human rather than a machine. He said he will call the airline to see what is going on and they will call me back within 24-48 hours. Come Wednesday no one has called me back. I call in very irritated at this point as my call flight is in a week.
They tell me the airline can't do much other than give me different booking flight (which doesn't help me since I have a connecting flight and they aren't willing to pay for hotel accommodation). So CheapOair and I decide a refund is the best they can do and for us to book a new flight. When we go to book a new flight CheapOair gives me prices that are more than the prices I can see online. So on top of not being accommodating towards me or even giving me a discount they are making me pay more than what I would pay online.
They kept transferring me from one department to another and I've had to explain what was happening over and over again. In the end I told them give me a refund and I will book by myself through a different site. Unprofessional, unbelievably unprofessional and they don't care about their customer. It's great other people have had a good experience but when flights are changed CheapOair doesn't care about their customer and expects you to figure out your new travel plans on your own. Never again will I book with them. There are much better sites that genuinely care about their customers.

I had booked a one way ticket to Manila, Philippines on October 29th for November, 13th to be reunited with my, soon to be fiancee, Andrea. To my surprise ten minutes before boarding, I was told I'd not be allowed to fly unless I had a return ticket as required by the Philippine Government. The airline was willing to sell me a ticket on the spot for $1000.00, which I could not afford at the time. I notified CheapOAir and was told that I would have to file a claim through the insurance that I had purchased, which would take around two weeks to process. I requested that CheapOAir credit the price of the flight until the insurance could process the claim, so that I may spend quality time with Andrea. They told me that it would have to be processed through the insurance I purchased, Trip Mate.
I expressed that I felt that they had sold me a ticket that was not valid and should take responsibility for their failure. I was told that I'd be contacted by a supervisor and, as of yet, not heard from anyone. I feel that CheapOAir, being in the airline booking business, should have been more aware of the 'round trip' policy and had advised me in order for me to prepare for the trip. I fear that CheapOAir, as well Trip Mate, will do everything they can to drag this out so that I will miss quality time with my, soon to be fiancee, Andrea. If they are unable to correct this in a quick manner, I will not be able to use their services, nor recommend them, again.

I had to fly to Sydney for a wedding from Perth at short notice so I looked for a good deal on Skyscanner to save money as prices can be high last minute. This is where my headache began. The customer service representative booked me the flight over the phone ($307.50) but I didn't receive a ticket through email (I thought this was strange) so I tried multiple times to get my ticket over the phone. I was reassured (multiple times) to arrive at the airport 1am and all will be well (travel agents seemed like they wanted to get me off the phone, they did not call Tigerair like they said they would to check that I was booked onto the flight).
I arrived at the airport at 1am to fly with Tigerair. There was no seat booked, my name not on the flight list. CheapOair did not book my seat on the plane. Waiting in the airport until 5.40 am for a flight with Qantas (extra $475) taxi connections $25. (NO SLEEP). Arrive in Sydney for wedding 5 hours late. In the dog house with the Mrs... $875+ dollars poorer... Not feeling great.
I spend the next day (supposed to be holiday time) trying to understand what happened with the booking. 2 calls to the travel agents who could not understand English well, they claimed I had missed the flight or arrived too late. Finally put through to a customer service representative spent a total of 4 hours on the phone. Longest time on hold was 45 minutes while she was calling Tigerair. This was quality time I could have spent relaxing. Customer service representative said I needed to call Tigerair as I needed to take this matter up with them... CASE CLOSED as far as they were concerned. Still no idea as to where the $307.50 was sent.
I contacted American Express fraud team to find out where $307.50 was sent. Money was sent to JetStar by Tigerair representative. Another hour on the phone to CheapOair and the customer service representative assured me that they will investigate this matter further and to expect a response over the next 2 days. It's been 7 days and I've had no response. I will call back today.
The worst part besides the almost ruined holiday was the lack of accountability and accusations that this was my fault from CheapOair. I tried multiple times to get my ticket before the flight but it was like banging my head against a brick wall. I am still $875 poorer. To summarise, the customer service team did not care one bit for the inconvenience this has caused me. This matter is still unresolved. I should have known better, moral of the story: If the flight is important and booked short notice don't ring up a travel agent from the internet who can't speak English, book directly through Qantas or Virgin Australia great online booking system and helpful representatives.

CheapOair reached out to me promptly within a day to try to resolve the issue at hand. I am still dissatisfied with the overall experience, but I respect the effort and will increase the star rating to 2.
In the end they offered me an additional $350 refund, but this does not change the fact that the process was handled poorly and the fees do not seem to be based on anything quantitative or tangible. The total cost of my cancellation is now $650 instead of $1000. I would like to see a policy change for their customer service to give a full itemized list of fees during any modification and/or cancellation of bookings. This would greatly reduce the likelihood of such an event in the future.

I booked a flight to Paris through CheapOair. In light of the recent attacks my wife and I thought it would be best to hold off and cancel the flight until a later time. I used their chat service. I spoke with one rep that quoted me a $250 cancellation fee per passenger. He claimed that if I didn't do the refund that day I would have to pay $350 the next day. I told him I will think about it and he offered the cancellation for $225. Do they get a commission on fees? Never thought I would be pushed by a company to cancel their service. He then gave me his direct contact info in hopes that I would cancel with him in the future.
A couple days later I get a different rep that makes me wait 20 minutes and then offers me a cancellation for $225 and tells me my refund amount. I didn't double check the math but realized that the totals did not add up. Only after he processed my refund did he tell me that the airline charges a separate $300 fee. When I called him out on it he offered a $50 refund. I guess they figure they can try to buy back my loyalty. Seems like a company without integrity. The fees are arbitrary. They will make you pay whatever you are willing to get your money. I will never use them again.

I purchased a promotional round-trip ticket to Paris. The booking was originally in euros, but did specify that I would be paying in US dollars. I read over the fine print. I understood that the quote I was given was an estimate and that the amount would change once booking was confirmed. The full total (ticket/insurance/taxes & fees) was quoted in euros. The exchange rate total was an estimate and even said that it was not the actual quote. I clicked 'book.' The confirmation gave a full break down in US dollars however, I was charged an extra $161 dollars.
When I called customer service the first time. The guy told me that the exchange rate changes every second. The US dollar is 1.07 to 1 Euro. The guy hung up on me when I asked to talk to someone who knew what they were talking about. I called a second time only to be hung up again. That guy had put me on hold for half an hour before disconnecting me! No one would give me a direct number to billing. The third time I called, I battled with another guy for two hours! He kept putting me on hold. Pretty much, they were going to keep me on hold until I gave up.
I did not give up! I purchased this ticket because of the advertised price. This was a clear bait and switch. I finally was taken off hold and told I would be issued a refund the difference. My advice... if you want to advantage of CheapOair offers, be prepared to fight for the price that is being offered. SCREEN CAPTURE EVERYTHING. I had booked a flight from MCO to San Antonio. As I pushed final confirmation on flight, I was informed that my destination had been changed to Oklahoma City. I contacted CheapOair and, while it took quite a bit of time, and two agents due to destination change and change for pick up of rental car, I was very pleased with the assistance I received. I will definitely use CheapOair again!

Booked a ticket on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, for the following day, Friday the 13th. I selected a one way ticket for today, Friday. After submitting, the site stated it would send me a confirmation for travel in the email. 30 minutes later, I got an email from CheapOair for confirmation, but the date for travel was now for Sunday, November 15, 2015. This is not the date I agreed to and submit for payment. Called back right away, and placed on hold for 30 minutes with no contact from customer service rep. This is called "terminal hold" and makes the caller have to hang up, because there will be no more contact from the customer service rep. Called back and spoke to another rep. and stated that this is not my mistake, and if CheapOair can not find a flight for the next day, I would need a refund for their mistake they made. I was then told that to cancel my $151 ticket, there would be a $400 service and processing fee, to cancel. WHAT???

Your company is a company that washes their hands of any responsibility. I tried to book a flight over the phone and the guy gave me 15 hour layover in Seattle coming back from Honolulu. Never told me there was a 15 hour layover. When I called to complain they said it was my fault? Like I have the computer there. I guided him by telling him what I was trying to book online and it wasn't working. He told me that he could exactly get me what I was asking for. I never gave him the booking number or anything yet he assumed I wanted a 15 hour layover in Seattle, Washington.
The supervisor said it was my fault like I had the computer in front of me with all the fair airfares. It was my fault that he did not say but there was a 15 hour layover in Seattle. I am so dissatisfied with this company. I will make sure that I leave commentaries wherever I can about your company and the bad treatment by both the reps and the supervisor that was over this booking. This is not right ruining people's vacations and not accepting any responsibility.

I needed a ticket last minute so I booked one and first it got cancelled due to Lufthansa being on strike so I rebooked and accidentally input an incorrect name on the ticket so I called to change the name and am told I cannot change the name, I need to cancel the booking and rebook so I cancel the reservation (this is within the cancellation time) and receive a cancellation email after which I rebook and get a phone call a bit later telling me I have two reservations and the first one with the incorrect name cannot be cancelled anymore without a fee.
So even though I cancelled the reservation, received a confirmation of cancellation, but did not get an email from CheapOair with a number telling me to call them and confirm the cancellation I still get charged for it! After wasting 2 days on the phone with them because they cannot do anything in a timely manner, I had to rebook with KLM directly and pay twice as much as I could have if I would have gone with them in the first place. Never again will I book with this company and I advise everyone who doesn't want to lose money not to as well.

I am a South African and I have been saving money to visit family in Canada. I booked flights to Canada and for some reason my return flights were put through the USA. CheapOair neglected to inform me that I would need a transit visa to pass through the USA (even though it was only for 6 hours). I would have requested to pass through Germany as is with my outbound flights. Not only that they neglected to tell me that it would take 6 months to get such a USA visa (the flights are booked for sooner than that). I believe this to be seriously unprofessional and bordering on illegal.

To change only my departure from 7/12/2015 to 13/12/2015 within 24 hrs of booking cost me a difference of over US$600. I feel cheated by that. Selecting a seat on a flight does not incur charges which had not been agreed prior and I was charged US$14 per seat selection. Again I feel cheated.

I booked a very competitive flight from CheapOair in October. Unfortunately when I went to check in online the Airline system did not recognise my reference number and I had to contact CheapOair. I was aware that they charged 1.10/minute for phone enquiries. However they quickly identified the problem and said that they could complete the check in and book my seat for a charge of 10:00 so to save time I agreed. 15 minutes later when I had given my credit card detail and the payment was being processed, the line went dead and I was forced to call back.
After a further 20 minutes with still no idea if I was checked in or my credit card charged, the line was cut again. I then booked myself in via the airline website. I did send an email complaint to the CheapOair customer services but have not received a reply. Today I have found out that Cheapoair have charged me a total of 74 for the phone calls. So much for my cheap flight. I will NEVER USE CHEAPOAIR AGAIN.

I had to change my flight last minute (within 1 week of travel!) due to political unrest in my original destination. The staff were understanding and quickly helped me find an affordable ticket to a nearby country. Great experience overall!

Stuck in JNB South Africa right now. Arrived 5 minutes late to catch my connection flight. My wife who booked directly through South African Airways can have her flight adjusted for 168 USD. I however made the mistake of booking through CheapOair.com. Figure at some point it would have saved me $10 or so. Unfortunately due to changing circumstances, had to change my flight and CheapOair decided to charge a $500 fee to change the flight stating that it was a $250 change of flight fee + $250 increase in cost of the new ticket. The only thing though is that if you looked at the price of the original ticket it was about $800 and the rebooked ticket due to it being a less traveled time of the year was now $500. So now I was paying $1300 (including the fees) for a $500 flight. This was pretty annoying to me.
At the time of rebooking my wife was on the phone talking with the "customer" assistant and the lady was so agitated and pushy that my wife actually had to ask her to stop yelling at her. But here I am in South Africa. I have been literally on hold for 1 hour and ten minutes and I am told that the line to talk with the manager/supervisor is "very long" still. They say I can call back another time but the problem is that I am actually traveling right now. If I don't talk with the manager, the customer service lady says the only way I can take the flight is if I rebook the entire flight (around $850). So just in case anybody is keeping track, that is 1300+850=$2150 for a flight which could have been bought for around 550 USD.
I know this is pretty different than the typical posts on my blog. In this instance I will go outside of my norms. For CheapOair to call themselves Travel Agents seem a kind of fraud to me. They are not my agent as they are clearly acting out of bad faith and getting me deals far worse than if I were in communication with the carrier directly. I know you might be a cheap traveler as am I. However, cheapest is not always best. I would suggest spending the extra $5 and go with an ethical agency.

I have booked a Cathay Pacific flight with these guys around 3 months ago. As a FREQUENT FLYER, I had thoroughly checked the fare rules and took a note of the date change penalty (USD 50 + cheapoair service fees). However they won't tell you what these service fees are when booking. When I called to change date, first the agent took more than half an hour to let me know the penalty for the date change. Every few minutes, he would tell me that the process "is very complicated" and there might be "big penalties". As a frequent flyer I found this very unconvincing, that the process of date change is complicated and costly. Finally the agent let me know the total charge for the new ticket including penalty - I pointed out the fact that new ticket costs less than the old one (no fare difference) but the total charge includes a penalty of $470, which is absolutely ridiculous for a date change!
For the first time I had to bargain with an agent for a reduction in the penalty!!! The agent proceeded to charge me $200, saying Cheapoair decided to offer discount on the date change penalty!!! I was being completely held hostage to them because they would not refund my fees if I cancelled, instead would keep the money as future credit. When I insisted that the original ticket be cancelled to get future credit, the agent informed that there would be a penalty of $50 for the cancellation. After keeping me on hold for a really long time, he further informed me they would still have to charge an additional $200 as "exchange fee"!! Which is comes to a total of $250, more than "discounted" penalty of $200! In all, he charged me USD $200 (for me it's more than CAD 260 at current exchange rate) as 'post-booking fee'!
Later in the day I called them again and asked to talk to a supervisor. After three transfers and 40 minutes, I was able to get hold of a supervisor. Half an hour of heated exchange with the supervisor, including putting the blame on me for agreeing to get charged by the agent, and with the supervisor finally acknowledging (earlier disagreed without taking a look at Cathay Pacific fare rules) that THE PENALTY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY CAD 50 INSTEAD OF USD 200 (i.e. more than CAD 260). However, they refused to return the extra unfair amount charged and said as a gesture of "good will" they will return only $USD 50 - in words, nothing in writing/email and it's supposed to take a few business days. Better than nothing, but a very expensive lesson learned! I hope the review helps fellow travelers make an informed choice before purchasing tickets through their site.
