I had mistakenly booked a flight with an overnight layover & didn't realize it until after I had completed the transaction. I really didn't know if anything could be done when I called, since this was completely my own fault, but the agent was able to help me find another flight without the overnight layover and changed my reservation over the phone. I've used CheapOair.com before, but this is the last time. I bought a $394 R/T west to east coast on Feb 22 and my Visa bill shows an $111 fee. Unbelievable and last time use this. I will NEVER use CheapO again! I was with three others on a flight that was booked through Cheapo. Inadvertently we learned a day before our flight that our airline had gone out of business. Not one of was notified of this by cheapo. We made a call to them, and after putting us on hold for nearly an hour we were cut off! We had to pay $452 to book a flight in order to make our connecting flight on time. Cheapo took no responsibility (although they agreed that it was true that none of was notified). So, never again will any of use CheapOair...

My wife booked 4 months in advance, $1000 each ticket nonstop. When it came to choosing seats she could only book one seat as the rest of the seats were "up charges" (four months in advance?) which we did not want for a 4 hour flight. She could not complete the seat selection, so we had to wait until at the gate. On the return trip they could not seat us together and I complained to Jetblue. They said I should "not have used" a 3rd party, we should have called them and they would have assigned seats right away. So it appears, and was implied that CheapOair was hustling us for up charges (which we all suspect they do). I was really pissed, will not use either anymore. CheapOair also charges a fee which they do not disclose at booking, or none that we could see? We had it removed from our credit card.

I attempted to book through CheapOair and accidentally got the wrong flight. I called immediately to correct it and was charged $25 each for two bookings. Then there were all kinds of issues with getting seats assigned. The agent said there would only be a $25 charge for changing both flights, then there ended up being two $25 charges, so he lied to me (although apparently the small print said differently than he did).
The small print was unclear about the cost. I am still not sure what I paid for, but there were multiple charges on my credit card in addition to the $807 advertised rate. It ended up costing me over $150 more in hidden charges. In attempting to find out what the charges were I was transferred many times, put on hold many times, and always had to talk to someone from a different country who barely spoke audible English, and finally was told the billing department had to call me back. I will NEVER book through this company again.

My son booked a trip leaving from Iowa in December to NM. A bad snowstorm postponed it by three days and then the "crew" he was flying out with slept in while delaying the flight by 5 hours. When it was time to take off the flight was again delayed due to a accident at O'Hare in Chicago. There were no longer any connecting flights to NM for 2 days which would have given him a one-day visit with a friend and 2 nights in an airport. He did not get one dime back for any of his troubles but did learn a valuable life lesson. You get what you pay for. Don't fly in the winter, NEVER use any site with the word "cheap" in it and don't trust someone who tells you you'll get your money back if it's an act of God. Short of the plane disintegrating in mid-air you aren't getting jack.

I had a very bad experience with CheapOair. While I was out of the country, our flights to return home were canceled due to a snow storm. I quickly went online to find flights to return. CheapOair had some flights of interest so I attempted to buy my flights. Here is what is wrong with their website: They take too long to load the flights selected. They change the dates of the flights you selected. They don't let you see/confirm your order before your purchase.
Every time I found flights that fit my budget and time schedule, they were sold by the time I went through the check out process. This means that if someone is in the process of paying for flights they chose, the site does not put a hold the flights through the purchase. Anyone who has quicker internet service can pick your flights while you are in the process of paying. The payment process takes so long as you have to go through several pages, you can imagine how many flights I lost. This is the worst. I chose a date of 1/24/16 as it was the closest date to my original travel date available. The website changed my purchase date to 2/13/16. During my purchase, the website did not allow me to view or confirm my order. I was not aware that the site had changed my dates. I was so frustrated when I saw the dates on my order.
When I called CheapOair, I was on the phone for more than 2hrs. They couldn't find a flight to change my dates. The person on the phone took my number and said he will call back within 30 min. They never called back. When I tried to call the number again, they stated that department was closed and will be open until Monday. (It was Sunday Morning). So of course I had to purchase other tickets instead of changing my order from their error. I ended up having to stay 4 extra days in another country because I couldn't find any other flights. Since I was in another country, the phone calls were getting too expensive. I decided to wait until I get into the country. When I was in the airport on my overlay flight, I called the website to clear up the mess.
They were rude, uncompassionate and careless. They didn't want to take the blame for all the errors or website problems. The supervisor did not want to believe me when I told him everything that happened. He put me on hold while he can listen to the recording. When he came back to me, he stated that I was correct, but either way, he was not going to reimburse me for the ticket that I bought in error because it had been more than 24 hours past the purchase. I was trying to get reimburse for their error and they would not accept my request because it was past 24 hours. But they were not available when I called in within the 24 hrs. They were not helpful at all. I would never do business with them again.

I had CheapOair recommended to me by a co-worker for a business trip. Due to changes in scheduling, I had to change my returning flight times. This ended up costing more than I paid for the entire cost of tickets the first time, which is somewhat to be expected. The problem was that cheapoair accidentally withdrew the funds for this charge TWICE from my account, and notified me one of the charges would be refunded. Even though they can take money out of your account instantaneously, they can't process the refund for an entire 14 business days - but that's not the end of it. Once they've "processed" your refund, it may take an additional 14 business days to show up in your account.

The agent misspelled my name by 1 letter, and you would think that this would be an easy fix. The airline cannot change it themselves because I booked through CheapOair, and dealing with their customer service is the worst thing ever. It's like being in a repetitive nightmare. I email the things they need, but then no one replies. I talk to representatives, and they can't help. I get passed on from supervisor to supervisor. My flight is in 2 days, and after being on hold for 2 hours, they tell me that they will call me back! I am at my wit's end. CheapOair sucks! Don't trust them. Have been trying to book a flight for the last 24 hours. This flight has been showing up on their site for 24 hours. Every time I try and book it, it says that the flight has been sold out, yet someone calls me back and is willing to sell me the same flight for a significantly higher price. Then it goes back to the flight screen telling me to select a different flight yet it shows me that flight as available again. Their excuse was that the airlines prices change all the time. I have checked Expedia and they don't list this flight at the price their website is listing it so evidently their site and whatever it uses in the background sucks or it's just a scam. I have spoken to numerous Cheapoair reps and want to bang my head against a wall. As a matter of fact, I will go and select the flight right now and upload all the images to this review.

They tried to solve it after I left the complaint. The changing price for my tickets finally went to $240. It is OK for me. But I hoped that they can do it in the beginning and it would save a lot of time for the customer and also the Cheapoair agent. Customer service is critical to the business success.

I was trying to change my trip. The customer service is so bad. The guy told me first it only costs $170 to make changes. I am fine with the price. And then he told me that it was wrong, the price should be $620! I told him that if they cannot help me make the change with reasonable price, I will cancel my flight and refund my money back. He said that "our policy doesn't allow refund" and I will get nothing back. That's so ridiculous.
I said that I need to make a complaint. He said "CheapOair doesn't have that kind of thing, you have no place to make the complaint". His attitude is so bad, now I know why. Cheapoair didn't train their customer service at all and even no place to complaint for the bad service their employee gives! I will stay away from this business. I used cheapoair for 3 years and spend almost $10,000 dollars for my international business trips. Now I realize that they just want to earn your money and they never thought about take care of their customers. There is no service! That's super ridiculous!
We have resolved the customer's concern and new flights offered which met with their agreement.

I have never done this before but the poor service, lack of professionalism has pushed me to writing this complaint. I purchased tickets from them in August 2015 for an international flight that was to take place in December of the same year. The process was complicated by the fact that we were billed and not given a ticket for my son. After calling and finally speaking with someone we were assured that the problem had been resolved. We thought nothing more of it until we arrived on the date in question at the airport to learn that my son's ticket was never purchased by CheapOair. I was forced to pay double the original booking price to buy him a ticket. I immediately called CheapOair and spoke to Sherwood ** about the problem. He told me to buy the ticket and that CheapOair would reimburse me for the purchase of my son's ticket.
Fast forward two months, it has now been 60 days since the travel and I have not been reimburse for 1/2 of the ticket. It was a pain getting the first payment, but the second payment has still not been refunded my credit card. I advise all who even think about using this company to think twice before booking with these people as they don't care about their service or repeat customers.

I have booked a ticket through this company. I got a good deal and I was happy with the price but my plans were changed and I had to change the return date only. So I called to the company on the same day when I booked the ticket (booked the ticket in the morning time and called for changing the date at night). The agent is trying to make a decision very fast and in order to change it I have to pay 51$ more. I said I am not willing to pay extra and I was informed that the cancellation is 75$. I took a moment and quickly searched the ticket for that day while I was on the phone with the agent. I found the ticket for the same price and said to the agent that I see available ticket for the same price and the agent told like it wasn't updated still and that's why I see ticket for that price.
What a joke! If it is not updating and if somebody buys a ticket on that time, what they will say then, the same story? Like because of it wasn't update we will cancel it? So far I changed the date and the agent told me to pay 51$ for ticket price. Not any fee or not for any service when I received the e-ticket, I see on the bill 51$ more for post booking charges not ticket price. By the way, I checked just now and I see there is still available ticket for 20$ more for the same day, not 51$ more. So far my experience wasn't good with them. My advise to the people, be very careful if you are using this company service, a little bit mistake from your side makes them to charge you more.

I did not pay close attention to the fact that a "nearby" airport would be used. I finished booking delighted by my great purchase. It didn't occur to me to check my email for the confirmation because I had cut and pasted it to my word file. Little did I know that my flight had been booked out of Toronto, which means that I now have to leave my house four hours before my flight leaves and drive 100 miles each way, plus pay $120 for parking. I've been traveling for over 40 years, and this is the first time I've had such a bad experience booking a flight.

I definitely would not recommend this company and since you're booking from a different agency, you can't get a refund.
Updated on 03/27/2016: I recently got back from my trip after repurchasing another ticket from a different website, still wondering why I still can't get any sort of refund from them, they then stated that after 30 days they can't do anything. I called on the EXACT day I missed my flight and they said it was my fault or said it's not our fault but the actual airlines. I spent 6 hours that day calling back and forth. Note I am a college student. I don't come from money. I had to drop my semester and visit my ill grandpa overseas last minute. I will still keep calling and figure out the REAL reason they don't want to help me.

Also had some problems with making our seat reservations as didn't quite understand which seats were already reserved & that there were some that did not cost anything & others were over $17/seat. I booked my flights on the website and although I received an email of the booking, the tickets were not yet confirmed. The following day I received an email from CheapOair credit card fraud department saying they were trying to contact me. This made me slightly upset because this being urgent I should've been contacted by phone not email. Had the ticket prices increased I would've had to pay the increase as the tickets were not yet confirmed. It took 6 hours to get this resolved and finally confirmed thanks to a gentleman by the name of Elliot who helped me.
This was not enough for a 2 star rating but what did make it a 2 star rating was when I spoke to a representative who offered to help me select my seats for the $29 fee. I agreed and I told him I wanted both seats together with one being a window seat. To my surprise when the tickets were confirmed neither seat was a window seat on the first flight which is the longest flight. When I called to get this resolved I was told I would have to pay an additional $29 fee. This irritated me highly as it was not my mistake and I could've easily chosen my own correct seats on the website. For that reason I was dissatisfied with the experience.

So my husband booked a trip for us. He thought he was going directly to the airlines site when he booked it. So all was well at that point. Then when it was time for us to do the online check in, I realized he put an extra letter on my name! Oh boy! so now were in panic stage! So he calls CheapOair, and he spoke to a rep! (I'm not sure if I can put his name on here, so I won't.) This guy made us pay an additional $500.00! He said we had to cancel that ticket, and purchase another ticket, because of the extra letter that was added to my name. So that's when my husband realized he wasn't talking to the airline, and it was cheapOair!
My husband asked, "Well, should I call the airline directly?" This guy said, "No, there's nothing that can be done. You have to pay the $500.00! But we will give you a $300.00 credit for a future flight!" So he purchased it! Well after all that was over, I was messing around on the check in process, and wow! I could have corrected the mistake while I was doing an online check in! But we didn't know that before we called CheapOair! What he did was not cool! I will use my credit, I have with CheapOair, but after that, I'm done with them and of course I will spread the word to friends and family!

We discussed additional services, but she was not trying to upsell me; my impression was that she was only giving me information about the options. She sent me e-mails confirming the details we'd discussed. Her courtesy was outstanding -- she willingly repeated numbers I wanted to check. I recently bought round trip tickets from Israel to Budapest via this site. The price seemed great - and I was pleasantly surprised when I made the reservation because I WAS SURE that it included baggage fees. I triple checked everywhere on the CheapOair website and felt good when I made this reservation. Afterwards, someone here at my work told me there was no way that my flight would include baggage. I called the airline directly and found out that this is true.
So, I had to pay an extra $70 per person to add the baggage. I tried to chat with someone (it took 1 hour) and in the end, she said they can't take responsibility for what they write on their site. It's so ridiculous. I saved the transcript of the chat. I didn't get any compensation. Next time - I'll just remember - if it sounds too good to be true - something is wrong! Lesson learned. I really hope someone will contact me to make up for this... I work in marketing and advertising - and I know this is very false and misleading info that CheapOair publish just to make a sale.

The did not say that my flight was pending anything when they sent me an email confirmation that stated at the top that it was "Booked on Tue, Jan 26, 2016". Now I have had to change my travel plans in meeting up with a friend and accept a flight that has a 8-hour layover there (vs 4:30hrs) and two 8-hour layovers back (instead of one 2 hour layover) to get an equivalent price.
I got in when prices were very low, part of the reason to travel, and was faced with dropping out of my vacation entirely, paying double, or accepting much longer layovers than what I originally bought. They would do nothing to take responsibility for not booking the flight on my behalf. They even tried to lie to me about issues with PayPal until I informed them that I set up websites, have worked with the PayPal api, and know that the excuses they gave me didn't make sense (not that there can't be issues).

Once I arrived in Chicago everything went wrong.
I had filed a formal complaint explaining to them what I had just explained to you above: "Hi. Please understand that my #1 requirement was to be provided less lengthy layover time than those listed on CheapOair website, this is why I called your company. We were sold tickets that did not allow us enough time to catch our connecting flight. Air Berlin was early flying into Chicago, American Airlines was on time flying out to Miami and I did everything required of me, yet was left behind in Chicago and made to stay overnight in Miami without a stroller or any of my luggage. I spoke with AA and they said it is the responsibility of the company I purchased the ticket from and you say it is them. You try to manipulate the customer. Someone is paying higher fares compare to the advertised rate on your website or on the airline website by making excuses and charging 50 to $60 more. For example, the $810 rate to Delhi India was available all over the place on various websites as the last even through the agent at Jet Airways. But your website processing doesn't go through properly so you have to call the toll free number and they give you an excuse. The constant excuse for all advertised fares with your company is that the advertised rate has been taken by somebody else. This is not the case and then challenged, or you threaten to cancel, you offer a refund of the excess charges. But those have never come true and you don't give a receipt right away for the refund. Where is my promised refund $100? On a positive note your agent was very helpful

I just had to pay $220 to shift my arrival date back by 1 day because I overlooked the fact that my flight would be arriving in Istanbul the day after I left Tokyo. How I managed to overlook this, I really don't know, but I do know that the emailed confirmation I received strangely does not list this information. Although I expected this on my return flight to Japan, I missed that I would also be arriving very early the next day in Istanbul. Unless you click on the link for the printable online itinerary customers can easily overlook this and make costly mistakes (as I did!).
Although it may have been my oversight, I cannot ever recall having overlooked such important details while making reservations in the past and especially given that those details were not listed in the confirmation I received, I wonder how clear the next day arrivals were made to me during the reservation process. So, at the very least, I suggest you change the content of your emailed confirmations (and possibly the information displayed during the reservation process) so that it clearly indicates when arrivals are on the following day (as in the printable itinerary). I hope you find these suggestions helpful.

I gave him the dates again and after a few minutes he returned with a flight that was acceptable. So we booked the flight for a service charge. It is a little longer than the first flight due to going to Seattle then on to Chicago, they are travelling with a 1-year-old so I was looking for the shortest flight possible. I recently booked a return flight with CheapOair to Amsterdam to surprise my Mum on her birthday as we have recently lost my Dad. I entered my search and selected the flight with the best times. I then double checked the details and paid. Then when I got the receipt it was for a flight to "apparently a nearby airport" when actually it was to Belgium and came back from another airport in Holland. I called straight away and despite being on the phone over 30 mins they said it cannot be refunded. I am very unhappy with their lack of service and would not recommend them. I've now lost money I can ill afford and will have to pay again for flights. This company is appalling.

A few hours later I found a much better deal on Expedia with the same flight ticket & hotel bundles (saves at least $250 for 2 bundles). So I called CheapOair customer support to request a price matching with Expedia (since it was still within 24 hours time frames), otherwise I wanted a cancellation and book with Expedia instead. They transferred me to different representatives, then different departments since they said they have different department that handle flights, hotel, car rental, and bundle. Finally I got hung up from them.
I tried to call them back 3 times with different numbers they have on their website. I ended up waiting for more than an hour to speak to the last representative, who asked whether I wanted to keep my booking or cancel it with penalty fees of $50 per flight ticket. When I asked her about the hotel cancellation (since I booked flight and hotel bundles), she told me they have different department that handle hotels so she did not know whether I would get penalty for canceling the hotel booking. It was my first time booking with CheapOair and I had very bad experience with them.

To start, for the past 5 years I have booked multiple flights with CheapOair per year online without any problems. Recently, I had a flight where something came up with work and I needed to push my vacation a week into the future. I called a few times to discuss changing my flights and received multiple quotes and multiple policies regarding trip cancellation. Sometimes the difference in fare came into play, sometimes it didn't. I finally spoke to an agent who cancelled my flight to Manila through Seoul and was going to re-book me a flight to Manila through Taipei. They tried to quote me a price for the new flight that was over $200 more than what I was seeing on their website. He pleaded that I book it over the phone and that he would match the price I was seeing online.
I agreed and asked why he was charging me a higher price to which he stated that there are entrance visa required for Taipei/Manila that cost over $100/person and he was giving me a deal on them (I have been to both Taipei and Manila and there are no such requirements). He booked the flight and send me receipts via email. A week later I check my credit card to see a mysterious $87 fee from CheapOair, I call and talk to multiple agents who give me a variety of special fees that must have been charged. Eventually I speak to someone in the "concerned persons" department who states that they will give me a refund, informs me that their agents are sales people who aggressively try to squeeze fees out of people over the phone to get commission for themselves.
They assured me my individual travel agent would be punished. A few days later I receive confirmation of a refund for my original cancelled flight for $100 less that I was quoted to begin with. I call again, talk to an agent who informs me that he has no idea why it was less and that he would submit my extra refund. Overall impression: These people are not travel agents, they are salesmen trained to squeeze fees out of you. I bet the call centers are third party companies under contract and have no affiliation with CheapOair (but unsure). I have flights every year with these guys and will never go through them again. Good luck.

On Dec.11/15 I was attempting to book a trip to Nashville for my thirtieth birthday. I was using a site that I have often used in the past - cheapoair.com. When it came to the payment portion, I was 'conveniently' able to enter all of my credit card information, as it was loading the site crashed. I immediately received an email from a representative at their website stating that they had been unable to process my request. I then called and spoke to an agent, just to be CERTAIN that I wouldn't be charged and was told absolutely I wouldn't be. Imagine my surprise when I get my December visa statement, I have been charged $563.50 twice for two tickets I was told, in no uncertain terms, that I would NOT be charged for.
I contacted United immediately as all it said on my statement was the flight number and airline. I was told by a United rep. that they couldn't do anything and that I would have to call the website. And so I did, and after FOUR combined hours of being told they could do NOTHING - even though it was their error - here I am. I have now been told that it is United Air who refuses to refund the money that was essentially stolen from me. The best that was offered was a credit for United - but with that, I would be responsible for an ADDITIONAL $200 per person for flight changes.
I am understandably upset by this experience - through no fault of my own, I am not out $2800 altogether for a flight to Nashville that was supposed to be in celebration and now has been completely tainted. After the site crashed, I attempted to search for other fares on cheapoair.com but the prices had skyrocketed. I then decided to proceed using a different airline - Air Canada - and had no difficulty finding a better rate AND much better travel times - the original flight had an 11 hour layover in Charlotte.
I fully expected better from both the website frequently travel with and the airline I have used COUNTLESS times in the past and always been mostly satisfied. I would absolutely NEVER travel via United or using cheapoair.com in future. Regardless of price you can't pay for the peace of mind that you are not being swindled. My former opinion of cheapoair.com was SO positive, I had encouraged numerous friends and family members to use their site, I'm so disappointed it has come to me bitterly complaining on all facets of social media available to me.

While booking he charged me 500.00 but as it was via and was taking too long time to reach destination I had to cancel the ticket, so I approached back to CheapOair. When I called them they are group of people. The operator told me wait a minute, they discussed among themselves and once again operator came back over telephone saying, "You see if you cancel right now airlines will deduct 500 hundred. So you are to pay 500.00 right now so that you will get the refund."
At that time I didn't know that I also can cancel online. He took 55.00 from me, so for booking 500.00 + cancellation 500.00. So he made 1,000.00 which is equivalent to one ticket charges of my 2 ticket purchased. So it was not a wise to purchase ticket from CheapOair as my experience is exactly opposite to cheap i.e., the costliest ticket I've ever purchased in my life. I had been looking forward to my Xmas vacation for some time and catching up with my family who live on the other side of the world. We were departing from Austin, Texas and destined for Tokyo, Japan. As you're probably aware there are no flights that travel directly to Japan from Austin so we had no option but to get a connecting flight. Fortunately we had enough frequent flyer points with United Airlines to get us to Vancouver, Canada so all we had to book was a direct flight to Tokyo which we found through CheapOair flying with ANA Airlines.
It was Monday December 21st and we were super excited for our trip. However, the events that followed made this trip a more costly and frustrating venture than anything. All of which could have been simply avoided with a little thing called Customer Service. There was a delay with our flight to Vancouver from Austin via San Francisco on the Morning of the 21st. We didn't think this was going to be a huge issue as United was kind enough to bump us onto the next flight to Vancouver. However as this is not a common flying route it meant that it was going to arrive too late for us to catch our ANA flight to Tokyo.
As we knew this more than 9 hours ahead of time we were scrambling to find a solution that would have us make the ANA flight or at least fly out the next day as a worst case scenario. Between waiting on hold with ANA Airlines and CheapOair it was a game of back and forth which took at least 6 hours of being on the phone. CheapOair claimed that ANA had strict terms and conditions with this specific flight as it were a special fare. Hence they put it back on ANA as being their problem. After speaking with ANA they put the blame back onto CheapOair saying that it is the travel agent who are responsible for these fare changes. CheapOair made NO effort to help us get onto another flight but rather continued to reiterate that there was nothing they could do.
After spending a substantial amount of time on the phone and not to mention one of the customer representatives from CheapOair had the courage to say, "Look, I've been on the phone with you for 45 minutes, are you going to book a flight or what?" My response was, "WOW," as I was speechless for a company that is supposed to be a travel agent, I was under the presumption that customer service was a big part of your business. Well, apparently not. After multiple 40+ minute holds on the phone, I was finally able to speak with a supervisor who by the way still has no authority on anything but must get to wear a suit and tie to work unlike the salespeople so must be given a higher role within the company.
Now whilst this saga was going on, my partner was looking at flights that were departing Vancouver to Tokyo on a one-way basis in the event that we can't find a solution here we could still get to Tokyo then utilize our return portion of the flight. (Apparently a new rule with ALL airlines is that your return flight is voided if you miss your outbound flight.) As unhelpful as the CheapOair supervisor was, he did say we could offer you a $50 voucher which at first I thought he was joking. When you're talking about thousands of dollars $50 isn't exactly a reward. Secondly, the next flight he could get us onto was departing on the 24th and this was not an option as the purpose of this trip was to catch up with family that we hadn't seen in over 12 months, but even that flight was going to cost upwards of $4K each because they only have business class available.
That obviously wasn’t going to work. He then rambled on to say that we can cancel the booking because it is ahead of time, and ANA will give you credit to go towards a flight with ANA. In the meantime I found a one-way flight through China Air which would get me into Tokyo on the same day for $520 per person. So canceling the booking would give me credit to rebook my return flight. OK we proceeded with this option. After what had already been a stressful day and we were already more than $1K out of pocket I just wanted to get to Tokyo.
We finally made it to Tokyo and I had received the email from CheapOair with my credit with ANA. Here is when things started to take a dramatic turn in which CheapOair lost any kind of credibility they had. Over the duration of our trip in Tokyo I probably spent close to 2-3 hours a day making phone calls to CheapOair to try and book a return flight with my outstanding credit. What I thought was going to be a simple procedure was basically impossible.
Firstly, the credit had to be used with ANA flights only – no ANA flights that are operated by different airlines. This was going to make this a bit tricky but we still felt like we could get something happening, despite most of ANA’s flights surrounding Asia. If we could at least get back into the US then we would be able to get a domestic flight back to Austin.
Then we were told we had to pay a $300 per person fee for cancelling the flight. We were aware of this from the very vague email from CheapOair but there was no mention that the credit couldn’t be used to pay the penalty in addition to the fares. Apparently this was a part of the rules and regulations. This made no sense to me as the funds were still going to the airline so if an amount was used for the penalty then it would leave me with a lesser credit – seems pretty simple to me?
Also the point that you couldn’t use it on a one-way flight and that you couldn’t change the route. Hence the credit could only be used to replicate the same flight departing Vancouver and before September 2016. Well, if we had known this earlier than we wouldn’t have cancelled the flight and followed the advice of the CheapOair representative. Plus what is the point of having credit if I can’t use it!! This seems like a very sneaky plot from CheapOair and ANA.
I don’t exactly plan on returning back to Japan within the next 6 months. Secondly, these so called rules and regulations – terms and conditions link from the email doesn’t work and the link appears to be broken. So tell me where are these rules that I can’t access? No fine print or anything. Is it even legal to provide such information that is not accessible by the consumer?? In addition we had asked multiple times for both CheapOair and ANA to send us the terms and conditions, which we are still yet to receive.
Now not only by this stage were we frustrated by this entire situation but also we were missing out on our vacation and it was hard to enjoy ourselves especially with the absolute lack of support from CheapOair. Here are some of the trademark or generic responses that we were fed from CheapOair. Each time we called we had to be transferred to at least 3 different people each we had to reiterate the same information, so obviously nothing was recorded. By the time we reached the 3rd person then it was a minimum of 45-minute wait to speak to a supervisor.
Each person that put us on hold said that would put us on a 3-minute wait. NOT ONE HOLD was 3 minutes or less. Each CheapOair representative said they would call us back. We never received ONE call back. We were told we would receive an email correspondence. NOT ONE email was received. Each representative told us that they understand our situation – but if that were true then they would provide a solution to the problem. It was always a NO, NO, NO. “I can call you back" but it won't be straight away because once I hang up another call comes in”. WTF. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!!
It was New Year's Eve and each day we tried to follow up it was the same process. As we were hoping to fly out on January 4th we needed action to be taken ASAP. We were also keeping an eye on flights departing Tokyo in the event that CheapOair couldn’t help us out, and it was quickly looking that way. We started to try and put more pressure on CheapOair to escalate the process, which they said they had done but at least some communication or correspondence would have been helpful but to this day we have still not heard anything from them.
The last thing we were told was that the matter had been forwarded to the waivers department, who supposedly had authority over these matters. I tried to get in touch with them but apparently they don’t accept phone calls and are only operational from 9-6pm EST – even when we called during that time the supervisor was not helpful in any way and was putting it back on ANA as they did in the beginning. We were told that they were talking with ANA to see if they can adjust their fare rules for this flight.
After almost 4 days of supposedly waiting on ANA, we called ANA to see if they could speed things up from their end. They weren’t helpful either and seemed to think it was CheapOair’s terms and conditions that weren’t allowing us to use this credit. We made the executive decision to book a one-way flight from Tokyo to Vancouver on the 4th as we had yet to hear anything back from CheapOair and the fare prices had gone up.
So as I write this, I am on my flight back to Austin, Texas. Still haven’t heard ONE word from CheapOair regarding the matter. Still haven’t heard ONE word from ANA Airlines. Have a return flight that I couldn’t use – value $3K USD. Had to pay for two one way flights – value $3K USD. In debt and had to borrow money just to return home. Had to talk to CheapOair from Tokyo whilst on roaming – expecting a huge phone charge when I return home. Wasted endless hours talking with CheapOair for nothing. Wasted endless hours waiting for CheapOair to return my calls for nothing. Lost time catching up with family and enjoying my xmas and new year's. Not ONE ounce of communication from CheapOair.
This is only a summary of my experience with CheapOair but to cap it off I must say that CheapOair is by far the WORST travel company in existence and I am truly appalled with the absolute lack of customer service provided by this company and it is really hard to believe that they are still a functioning business. I will be doing everything in my power to share this experience with the world and make everyone aware of what really goes on at CheapOair. I will also forward this email to all the airlines that do business with CheapOair, as they deserve to know who their consultants are. I will send this to consumer affairs and to the better business bureau because I am sure that a business cannot legally run like this.
My family is persistent that I should consider taking legal action and agree that we have been mistreated by CheapOair. I will make sure that social media take this company down if they don’t implode internally before then. This has not only been an extremely disappointing experience with CheapOair but a really unlawful and frustrating situation as I mentioned that could have been pre-empted. I really hope that no one else has to deal with this kind of experience and look to the successful travel companies when booking airfares. This should simply not happen!

Do not use CheapOair! I repeat, DO NOT. In case you run into a cheap rate on their website, leave! Do not make any booking with this greedy, irresponsible company whose only goal is to take your money and nothing else. Also, their system is so messed up and they can really screw up your trip badly. The booking agents will tell you information they themselves are not sure about and cares nothing about their customer whatsoever. So, do not deal with CheapOair, this is a company you cannot trust. Their carelessness about their customer is beyond belief. So, stay away from them and DO NOT purchase any tickets from them!
If above warning still did not bring up your attention, please read on: In April of 2015, I planned to make a trip back to China with my mom and found good deals on CheapOair. In previous year, I did purchase ticket from them and they have my credit card number on file. I then called CheapOair and made inquiry for two tickets, one for my mom and one for me and the return date of mine would be one week earlier. The Indian sales agent give me a quote for both of our tickets but since my final work schedule has not been finalized, so I wouldn't able to make the purchase at that point and told them I will call back to confirm the booking and make the purchase at a later day.
No permission was given to charge my credit card was given at their point. Several days later, I called them again and gave them my final travel schedule and booked two tickets. Everything seems to be fine, right? Well, about a week later, I saw two charges on my credit card from CheapOair and it appears they booked my own ticket twice. Immediately I called them and was told they booked two tickets for me on the same departure date but different return date. Are you seriously? Can't you guys even think? But I did not confirm the purchase of the first ticket and no permission was given for them to charge my credit! There was recording on the first inquiry and won't you guys listen? Nope, they do not care.
Obviously, the sales agent just went ahead and booked tickets for both of us and charged my credit without my permission! To me, this is a blatant violation of customers rights and privacy and it sounds to me like a fraud. I immediately called them again and told them the tickets were purchased without my permission and they need to refund my money. Well, CheapOair just stonewalled me and gave me a runaround. During my 3-4 phone conversations with them afterwards, all sales agent denied their wrong doing and their managers were also not willing to admit their mistake. They just want to take my money and would care less about me and my rights.
To me, this is an act not less than robbery. I was furious but had nowhere to go. I called my credit card company and told them the story and they have agreed to hold the money but told me I need to sort it out with CheapOair. At that point, I decided to tell my story on the internet and post my experience at google and a few days later, I received an email from CheapOair who has agreed to refund my ticket in exchange of me withdrawing my post from the forum. I was relieved to see the situation has resolved and immediately took my post off those websites. Within few days, I got several emails from someone named Foster from CheapOair who sounds a little bit friendlier and told me money will be refunded over two 2 weeks period. Soon, I received e-tickets from them and then they refunded money to my credit card and I thought everything would be fine.
Well, if you think the mess CheapOair would cease here, then you are wrong! About one week before my scheduled departure date, I got an email from CheapOair telling me I would be traveling the next day but they changed my schedule and moved my return date to a different day. What? Where did this come from? Leaving the next day? Or 13 hours to be exact?
More to this, in that email, they instructed me to either click the Agree button to change my ticket, or they can just simply cancel my ticket! Really? Bare in mind, I have made all travel arrangement, requested times off from my work and I have my family waiting for me across the Pacific ocean, and CheapOair would cancel my ticket after giving my an itinerary that was going to put me on the plane the next day which is a week early than the scheduled date and back on a date that will not work for me? Is this the kind of service CheapOair has been providing to their customers? I know, this whole thing sounds surreal but this is what cheapoair has done!
Confused and furious, I called CheapOair. After calling several numbers getting nobody on the phone, I finally called their 800 numbers and finally talked to one of their agents in India. After giving him my booking number and name, they told me I have a flight leaving the next day! "No sir, the ticket I purchased is a week away..." "No, you are leaving tomorrow, actually in 13 hours." "No, no, no, Mr. can you look at your record closely and double check the booking, please?" "No, our record has shown you are leaving tomorrow." "No, no, no, I have records from the carrier website using the same booking number showing my departure date is a week away." "Oh. mmm. Ok, your return flight has a problem. One of the connecting flight is no longer available and we have to reschedule your return date." "Ok", then the line went dead.
Ok, this thing is important. I cannot throw a temper tantrum in my own study, simply because that won't work. So I called them again! Of course, you got a different agent on the other side of the phone who told you the same bull that you are leaving the next day. "No, no, no, please look down further and there should be another booking stating I am leaving in one week." "No, I cannot find them." "Yes, you can." "The guy I just spoke to found them." "No, cannot find them. Oh, here it is, yes, you are leaving in one week, but there is some problem with your return ticket." "Ok, what is the problem?" "Mmmm, let me look. I need to call somebody. I will call you back in 15 minutes." "Ok, that is fine." I hung up the phone after giving him my cell phone and home phone number.
Thirty minutes have passed, the phone didn't ring. I told myself, be cool, they won't care if you kicked the wall down and put the house on fire. So, I called them again. Yes, it sounds like a broken record, but unfortunately this is what had happened. Same story, no record, cannot find the record, cannot help me, and they need to put me on hold while they asked the manager. Then they transferred me to another department that handles these itinerary changes. There I was told the connecting flight in China was cancelled by China Southern Airline and they gave me several choices for the return and I picked one that would work with my schedule. They said they will contact the airline company and give me final itinerary when it is confirmed. They told me it might take 48 hours.
At that point, it is very obvious to me that management of CheapOair is extremely messy and nobody know what happens when! After they took your money then you are just at their mercy. They can do whatever and there is nothing you can do. The system is a total mess and your itinerary and important changes will be lost in the shuffle and nobody in CheapOair would bother to blink an eye. At their point, I know nothing will happen and they will not give me any response or make any changes on my itinerary. They will just drop the ball and let it go. They have my money and their goal has achieved and that is it for them. Whether I will be leaving in less than one week or should their customer have peace in mind with their travel schedule is not of CheapOair's concern. Their name says it all!
One day has passed, no response. Three days have passed, no response. One week has passed, no response. My scheduled return date has passed, still no response! It has been one month after the scheduled return date, I still haven't heard anything from CheapOair! There you have it. This is the treatment you got from CheapOair and that is why I tell you DO NOT deal with this company ever. They are just a bunch of irresponsible, greedy crooks whose only goal is to take your money.
As soon as your money is in their pocket, then they can treat you whichever way they want. They will just drop their part of the deal like that and let you hang in the wind. It is beyond my belief that a company doing this kind of lousy, if not deceptive practice can still in business. It is hard to believe that there is no legal action has been taken against them. I hope you read my post and get the message: CheapOair will screw you up like nothing as soon as they take your money. DO NOT deal with CheapOair! DO NOT! Never!

Best flight tickets reservation website I ever known. I just booked 4 tickets flight for me, my wife, and our little two kids. We always book our back home flights tickets on CheapOair. We can tell that this website just meet our expectation, affordable prices, flexible schedules and itineraries. Quality customer service and very helpful after purchase service staff. I would recommend CheapOair for anyone who seeks price affordability, flexibility of schedule, safety, and reliability.

Ordered round trip with them for 8 month in advance. Received email about flight time change one month before flight and was happy with their notification service. Flight time was changed from 8 AM to 2 PM which was amazing for me, but when I arrived to airport for check in, found that there was no changes and my flight was at 8 AM. That means I lost my next flight connections. Call to CheapOair support and they put me on hold for almost 30 minutes. Thanks to airline supervisor who put me on a board for business class for no charge. Next connection flight has no registration for my name and have to wait until all passengers are in and wait if someone delay to use their seat. Same for all next connections.
Because of that poor communication and support from CheapOair my baggage was lost and I received it only after 4 days after arriving at final destination. Was always using other online services but found CheapOair new and it was a mistake. Will never use their service and even recommend it to friends or everyone. Does someone from CheapOair apologize? No. Does someone call me back regarding my flight experience? No. In total - they do not care. Use other services, not CheapOair.

I had booked a Sun Country flight for mid-January through CheapO Air, and had an emergency gallbladder removal surgery that was restricting my ability to fly less than two weeks before my scheduled flight. I called Sun Country and was told that I would need to pay a change fee, but I could apply for a medical waiver, but it would need to be done through CheapOair.
From the first experience with the CheapOair customer service person, he said he didn't believe that Sun Country had told me that, thought I should pay for an entire ticket again and then apply for travel insurance (I explained that it would fall under their preexisting condition policy), so the change option was the best for us. He kept saying that it wasn't in the fare rules, despite what I had been told by Sun Country. I asked that he call Sun Country to check, and he rudely asked what proof I have that I actually had surgery. He told me that I should have known about this (needing emergency surgery in January) before booking the flights in November.
I asked to speak to a manager, and he wanted to know why. He was extremely combative and unhelpful, and said no manager was there and I would have to wait 24 hours for a callback. I expressed my displeasure over his unprofessional and attacking manner with no cause and he proceeded to attack me further. At this point, nothing has been resolved. Had I booked directly through Sun Country, the ticket would have cost the same and this issue would be resolved. It is bad enough to have a serious emergency health issue, but CheapOair's extreme unprofessional handling of this matter has been utterly unwarranted. I will never use them again.

Everything with this company has been awful. They refunded most of our cost for the tickets to our account, but it remains active in their system and in United Airlines... But I was able to also look it up in Cape Air, and now it says the booking # is inactive. They refuse to cancel my booking so that I can rebook with confidence that we actually have active tickets for our flight. Customer service is always with a 3rd party - hard to understand - English is not their first language person.

I was very pleased with the assistance I received in making a reservation over the telephone with the representative as opposed to using the Internet. My flights were confirmed and booked with no errors.

I called the number on the website to order two tickets, which I they were getting me the best offer. NOT so, they asked for 14.99 to pick your own seat... Crazy, then after I paid close to 700.00 to find out when I went on the America Airlines website, the tickets were 115.00 cheaper than what I paid. NEVER again will I get tickets from the website again...

The rep who sold us the two tickets got BOTH passengers' dates of birth incorrect, and it took two more calls to rectify and even then required a call to the AIRLINE to confirm that at least they could verify that correct data was on file. Knowing how TSA is about data, looking for any excuse to deny boarding, this was sort of scary. Better care needs to be taken, including reading back such vital data to customer, to prevent such mishaps.
