I purchased an airline ticket on the CheapOair site and applied the $20 discount. I received an email from CheapOair's partner in crime, Travel Plus asking me to confirm I wanted the rebate by just sending a reply to that email with the rebate # in the message portion of that email which I did. After seeing complaints, I followed up within 30 minutes via email, informing them to cancel any memberships effective immediately. It turned out these companies have scammed other customers by enrolling them in a 7 day free trial of their service without the customer's knowledge or consent and subsequently charging the CC used by the customer to purchase tickets through CheapOair!

I will recommend all my friends to use your system. CheapOair is a great and easy manner to make reservations, and the price is simply the most competitive.

I have had the worst experience booking a flight ever. First I booked my flight online at a price of $803. I went through the process of entering all travelers information and then entering the payment information only to be charged an additional $64. I tried it three times and every time the price would go up at check out. I finally decided to contact customer service, I spent almost two hours with the operator who could only give me excuses as to why the price was now over $900 but yet the price online was still $803 for the exact same flight.
We finally settled on a price of $843. The next day a total of $907 had been processed by my bank for the tickets. I was on the phone again listening to more excuses and hearing that it way not CheapOair's fault for the error. Now I have to wait up to 30 days to get my money back for their "mistake". It's just a way to swindle people out of their money. Needless to say I will not be using them ever again. Also be aware that they have multiple companies they work under. I originally started on OneTravel.com.

In both cases the agents were pleasant, professional, efficient and very helpful and patient in replying to all of my many questions. In addition, they made helpful suggestions. I was more than pleased with the service. During the second call, I had it on speaker phone and my husband came in an commented on the wonderful service!

I negotiated to 50 and that still too much. They are rude and barely speak English. So if you are looking for cheap honestly Travelocity or any site will get you the same price and be more professional.

Very disappointed about my experience with www.CheapOair.com and not having any disclosure about bags policy on international flight and the type of ticket. It would be nice if the website could specified that so called discount tickets don't have any check-in bags allowed unless you pay extra (even first bag) and not find myself at the check-in counter that I have to pay... Way to go CheapOair and the link you provided didn't work.

While booking a flight online I realised after I had submitted the form that I had used the wrong security number on the back of my credit card so I believed I wouldn’t be charged for it, so promptly went to another online merchant and booked the exact same return flight. Turns out I was charged. Called the bank and after their investigation they said it’s the merchant’s issue because according to their records the first submission was incorrect and rejected but a second submission came through and it was correct so the bank accepted the charge. I’ve been disputing this charge with CheapOair vehemently since the beginning of May and treating it as a security issue; they keep passing the blame on and referring to the airline, have taken no accountability for the breach in security, and have tried to avoid me. I’m not giving up. This is criminal—they have literally stolen my money. DO NOT use this company!!

Update: I was reached again by the costumer service specialist from Cheapoair and he was very eager to listen to my side of the story. He offered the the ticket on the price I originally intended to buy on. From this experience I can say for sure that they take the customer complaints very seriously and do their best to resolve it as soon as possible. Although, the initial experience wasn't so pleasurable it definitely ended very well.

CheapOair is the worst website to deal with. I have dealt with other website such as Priceline but this is the worst of all. I purchased online ticket from Detroit to Fairbanks for two adults at the total of $1413 including economy plus upgrade which includes carryon bag and advanced seat selection. The screen was showing total of $1413 before I entered my credit card but after I entered my credit card total came out $1493. I called the customer service and 15-20 minutes of argument (during the entire argument he was reading exactly the same thing what I see on my computer screen which totals $1493). After intense argument he said “give me some time” and came back saying that I was right and he is going to refund me $65.
I don’t know how he came up with $65 because the amount they overcharged me was $80 but offered me $65 back. I still agreed because I was going to lose just $15. After few hours I received an email saying they processed refund of $29.90. Rather than staying on hold for hours and talking with customer service for no service I chose not to talk anymore with them. I still wonder why four different numbers $1413, $1493, $65 and $29.90 when I clearly told them that I have all the screenshots which totals of $1413. Not pleased with the customer service at all.

We made our reservations in December for an August trip. We paid at least $40.00 each to get good assigned seats on all 4 flights. In March we were informed by CheapOair that our entire flight was canceled by AA. At the time I rescheduled they did not assign our seats and I didn't think about it until June when I saw we had no seat assignments. Of course, when I went to get seats the 3 of us are scattered among the general seats that they do not charge you for. When I called for a refund they would only give me $44.00 for all 3 of us. I could not prove what I paid originally because they put the seat charges together with taxes & agency fees.

I have been booking flights through CheapOair for over 4 years and very satisfied with their service. However this May 18 I booked a ticket for my wife to travel from London to Berlin return. I picked on an available seat and went through to payment by CC. However it said sold out. So I went in again and picked another flight and proceeded to payment and went through. They were both RyanAir flights. I get a confirmation from Ryanair direct for both flights. I found this quite unusual and on checking my CC details a few days later, I realised that CheapOair had passed my CC details to Ryanair and charged me their commission for one flight.
I tried calling them several times. Always got cut off when being put through to billings. I emailed them, 4 weeks later I get a request for some information to identify myself. Promptly submitted within a day. 3 weeks later, I received an email stating that I must have booked direct with Ryanair and hence I should contact Ryanair direct. No longer their problem, status - resolved. I emailed them again stating that I had not done so and to please look into the matter again. It's been 3 weeks and still no response. Firstly I think it is wrong for them to have passed my CC details to another airline without notifying me. Secondly, to say that they have no trail of my double booking on their system is dangerous. As for their service at call centres - not even worth mentioning. Mr **. This review is being posted on every website in opposition to CheapOair.

Just a follow up on my 'Warning When Cancelling and Rebooking with CheapoAir' review. A supervisor at CheapoAir.ca (Canadian office) contacted me with regards to the review and did offer to give me a one-time-only partial refund. In discussing my negative review, he directed me to the Terms and Conditions section at the bottom of their web homepage. After I opened it up, he directed me to Changes for Flights Already Purchased section where it says "an exchange/change fee is charged by CheapoAir ...for domestic coach / economy travel ...up to $100 Cdn". [I checked the CheapAir.com (U.S.site) under Terms and Conditions / Our Fees and Exceptions and the costs are similar if not more]. This 'up to $100' is of course per person per direction and is on top of the airline penalty of $100 per person per direction. So the supervisor was basically telling me that there was nothing hidden or surprising in what they charged me - its all there in black and white. So I've upped my star-rating for CheapoAir for their after-sales service of calling me and granting me the partial refund but my warning still stands. Be prepared to pay much more for cancelling and rebooking then you expected. Check the fine print and probably the best advice, don't go through an agency (I suspect other agencies do the same thing) - book directly with the carriers.

Just to warn you if you ever have to cancel a flight and then rebook. CheapOair will send you an email saying you get credit for most of your flight (minus some small CheapOair admin fee ~$20) and you "agree to pay an airline penalty of $100.00 per person plus fare difference if any". Here's the catch though. In calculating the fare difference CheapOair does NOT use whatever the new fare is on their or the airline's website. They use some other "rebooking" fare rate which only they know. In my case, even though the website showed the new fares were lower than my canceled fare, I ended up having to paying over $200 instead of the $100.
In total for my wife and I cancelling and rebooking a round trip flight, instead of paying $400 in cancellation fees ($100 per person per direction) we had to pay $800 ($400 cancellation + "rebooking" fare difference) for flights that were actually cheaper on the website than the original flight. It's a ripoff!! It hurt me to have to cancel the original flight due to the possible danger of my brother who were visiting (who's dying of brain cancer) being exposed to mononucleosis virus, but it hurt me even more getting ripped off an extra $400 by CheapOair.

We booked June 2018 flights on China Air with CheapOAir. We knew in advance that we needed to use our names exactly as they were on our passports, including middle names, and we applied with a form that had a space for middle names along with the passport number. The reservation confirmations came back from CheapOAir with first and last names, no middle names and a notice from CheapOAir that rules require traveler full names and to call them if we needed to make a name change.
I suspected a scam: I called them and got a lengthy explanation about how we MIGHT have to re-buy the tickets and we MIGHT not have a problem and there might be a $150 fee. Then CheapOAir started calling to urge us to deal with this, at least three calls, plus offers to get seat assignments together for a fee. We printed out their e-mails and documented their calls and did nothing further. At the airport in Beijing, with NO difficulty, we got our boarding passes for China Air at a self serve kiosk by passing out passports through a reader. They are intentionally scamming worried travelers by returning the confirmations with only first and last names and including a notice that there must be three names. This is a scam.

When booking a flight online, we chose to request seats at an upgraded price. We booked a flight in the middle of April for the beginning of July. As the time of our flight got closer, I noticed in our flight information that it still showed our seats were pending. I contacted CheapOair via chat and was assured that we would receive a confirmation for our selected seats before the day of our flight. I checked our flight booking daily on both CheapOair and the airline's website. On the airline's website, our assigned seats were at the back of the plane instead of the ones we'd requested in the middle.
I live chatted with CheapOair again, and they referred me to call their seating request department. I did so the following day and was told that during the first live chat, I had been given the contact number for their department (which wasn't true), but because I didn't contact them, they didn't move forward with the seat selection request. I clarified my live chat experiences again, but ultimately, there was nothing they could do but apologize and "thank me for my feedback" when I told them that none of what they were saying was part of the seat selection request process online. When we travel, we always search for the best deal online, but for this company, what we paid for was overpriced for what we got. From now on, we'll stick with more reputable, well-known companies who are transparent in their online process.

I specifically asked about this, because my wife was standing behind me telling me to ask. The man on the phone said that there would be no cancellation fees at all. So, when I rebooked and got back from the trip, wasn't I surprised to see an 80$ charge from CheapOair!
I filed a chargeback, because I had received nothing telling me about this 80$ charge, and they lied to the credit company and said that I cancelled my flight directly with the airline. I did NOT contact the airline once. I have phone records of about 10 minutes of calls with CheapOair (which I sent to my credit card company so they'll know that they were lied to). Back in May, I purchased a total of 5 tickets for a trip to Trinidad (4 on 1 booking and 1 on another) and upgraded to the Main Cabin for all 5 tickets ($12 per person). The description on CheapOair’s website states: that you get 1 free checked bag, can select seats, eligible for upgrades and general boarding with the upgrade whereas with basic economy you: pay to check bags, pay to choose seats (or will be assigned seats at no charge during check-in), not eligible for upgrades and board in the last group. I was in the process of purchasing an additional ticket for my mother and was contemplating the upgrade option. I couldn’t remember if I purchased it for the other tickets and the information was nowhere on my receipt so I decided to call CheapOair to see if I had indeed purchased the upgrade for the other tickets. They informed me that I had, and so I proceeded to confirm the information regarding the upgrade.
When I asked the question about the free checked bag, the customer service representative corrected me and said that it was a free carry-on, not a checked bag. So I informed him that the website stated it was a checked bag. He proceeded to tell me that wasn’t the case, and that it was a free carry-on. I reiterated that the website clearly stated a free checked bag. He went on to tell me that the cost of checked bags varied based on the airline and I explained that perhaps they should correct the website and I hung up. I called back a few minutes later to address the issue with a different customer service rep. The new rep agreed that I was supposed to get 1 free checked bag, but went on to say that baggage costs vary and that they I would need to check with the airline for the exact cost. I explained that I knew the cost but that I purchased the upgrade to get the benefit of the 1 free checked bag.
I then moved on to the free seat selection. I was initially told that one of the benefits of the upgrade was the extra roomy seats. I was excited about that and proceeded to make my seat selections. The rep then placed me on hold because he had to check with the airline to see what seats were available. After a few minutes he came back on the line to tell me that the seats would be between $28 and $35 a piece. I thought I got free seat selection with the upgrade to main cabin I asked.
After cutting me off at least 3 times, he proceeded to explain that the airline charges for the seats, not CheapOair. Really? So I asked what was the difference between seat selection with Basic Economy versus Main Cabin Upgrade. He told me that Basic Economy gets me random seat assignment, but if I wanted to choose my seats I would have to pay a fee to CheapOair and the airline, whereas with the upgrade I could still be randomly assigned seats, but if I chose to select my seats I would have to pay the airlines, but there would be no charge from CheapOair. This is so misleading. The entire description regarding the upgrade is misleading.
I still have to pay to check my luggage and to select my seats even though I paid extra for these benefits. And who knows about the upgrade eligibility or the general boarding. I didn’t even bother inquiring any further because I was thoroughly disgusted. CheapOair needs to be much clearer in their descriptions of the “supposed” benefits you get when you upgrade to the Main Cabin. It’s false information and a scam to get people to pay additional costs. I paid $60 extra dollars to get nothing! I’m ending up with the same options as if I had not upgraded. I should be reimbursed the additional money that I paid for the false advertisement. I still have to purchase my mom’s ticket and I will use CheapOair because it was a fusion flight and I want her to be on the same flight as the rest of the family. However, I will not be purchasing the upgrade, nor will I use CheapOair after that. I will definitely not be recommending them to anyone else either.

I recently booked a flight for the first time through this company from San Juan Puerto Rico to Dominica for a dive trip. It was booked on Air Antilles. Because of Hurricane Maria, the trip had to be canceled. Although the flight was non-refundable, airlines always let you re-book for a fee. CheapOAir did nothing to help me arrange this and Air Antilles had no record of our reservation. I wonder what would have happened if we actually tried to use the flight reservation? This mistake cost me $600.
Donna, after reviewing the reservation for travel in April, we show the flight was canceled but at this time there has been no contact from you since april to rebook this, in which we would be glad to assist you. Also, the airline uses their own confirmation number to verify your reservation or the etkt, which both are on the actual confirmation we sent you.

I paid for my aunt's ticket to visit. She has been so helpful that she said she could stay longer. I had purchased the ticket insurance, apparently just throw away money. The whole round trip was $505.00 dollar. When I called to extend her trip for 2 more weeks. They told me it was going to cost $521 to make that change. I told them that I had the insurance, "Oh that doesn't work in this situation" why did I buy it then? I was like, "Forget it. I'll buy her a one way ticket from my new location" and the total was $284. He goes, "Ok we found a flight that you'll love. The price at $385ish." I asked to speak to a manager. He would not transfer me. Huh, no $284 is still cheaper. I'll do it myself. "Ok well I talked to my supervisor - $286 to fix the original ticket from CA to Canada."
I said fine, but when he put me on hold I remember he said CA. When he came on I told him it needed to be UT not CA. He said that it would cost me more money to change it since he had just finished the other change. I asked for a manager again and was put off again, mind you it is the end of the day and I have been on the phone for over an hour. I said ok with the thought of calling the next day and speaking to a manager. Why did I have such a thought? The next day I talked to a customer service representative, who said a manager would call in 2 to 4 hours. Five hours later I call, oh no problem hold on the line for a bit and they will be off the line with another customer. Eighteen minutes later they cut me off, how do I know. ‘Cause their customer survey comes on.
I call back, wait to talk to a manager, he then puts me on hold, for somewhere 50 minutes, to listen to the conversation from the previous day. When he comes on he doesn't listen to a thing I say and tells me I agreed and that is that. I asked if I could explain the situation, just to have him interrupt so often that I could not explain anything. I lose my temper at this type of treatment from a supposed supervisor and tell him to shut up so I can explain. Does he not even a little and just keeps going that I don't need to explain since he heard the recording.
So I told him that is fine and I have learned my lesson, it cost $286 and from now on my family, extended family, and friends will all be using a different company to book our flights. After a little silence he says, "I am listening to what you have to say, start to explain again" and he starts to interrupt AGAIN. I have completely learned my lesson and inform him, "No, no it's ok. I will rebook my ticket through someone else and so will everyone I know. Thank you and hang up." This was some of the worse service I have ever received. I would never use them again even if it cost me more money to go through someone else. Anyone else is better than the treatment I received on the phone with them. I have already booked a new flight using Hotwire, for less.

CheapOair doesn't inform the customer of the hidden charges of selecting seat assignments. After booking a flight and receiving an email to have seats assigned for an early check in, the airlines charge another fee. I caught this after having the first seat assigned. I was charged over $100 to have just one seat assigned (domestic flight) after paying $532 for the RT flight! I didn't complete the other seat assignments for fear I'd be charged for the 3 additional seats of over $100 each. I called CheapOair and was told they can't help me, that it's the airlines that are charging. Using a cheaper method of traveling isn't CHEAP. I'll never use CheapOair ever again - it's going to cost me more to use this service than going direct to the airlines to purchase. I wouldn't have given them a star at all, but had to just to write the review.

What now happens every time after I find the desired flight and finish filling out the personal info and click "pay": the system tells me that the flight is sold out, but "fortunately" they have a different flight for only $600 more! With today's computer technology (which I deal with for living), their ridiculous claims about the website's need to "refresh" is such bogus. I just booked the flights for myself and my children to go to Europe, and the same thing happened with 3 flights in a row. This is simply NO coincidence. Also, the difference is $88.95 taxes and fees, and you chose to select seat assignments which was an additional $14.95, which we will refund. I wanted to visit my ailing brother but unfortunately I witnessed a man jump to his death at my job and have been traumatized causing major back problems and leg problems. On top of that we've had 3 deaths in the family. So this trip had to be postponed and even though the $100 Cancellation fee was waived there is a $200 per ticket rebooking fee. This is beyond disbelief.
They charged an $88 additional fee that no one could tell us where it came from but fortunately within a couple of days it was refunded to my husband's account. This is just too many fees and I will never book through this company again and I only hate that now we're not gonna be able to use the tickets so that's $584 and disappointment to our 15 yr old Daughter who was looking for to her 1st flight and to see her Uncle hopefully before he passed... We booked our round trip flight from Toronto to NYC via CheapOair and purchased their flight insurance. Our cruise ship was to dock by 8 am and our return flight was booked for 3:55 pm. Due to bad weather, our ship was delayed and we missed our return flight. Because of 3rd party booking, the cost to re-schedule our Air Canada flight home was more than if we booked a new flight. We ended up having to pay $750 US in addition to what we had paid for our original flights. CheapOair did not offer any compensation or discount. The flight insurance that they sold us was worthless. It would have only covered us for "Weather that causes complete cessation of services of Your Common Carrier for at least 48 consecutive hours." 48 HRS?? Who tacks another 48 hrs onto their vacation? This means that you would need a 48 hr delay in a connecting flight to be covered? What a farce!

In the end, I decided not to use this company anymore. This website is not a scam. It does sell real tickets that you can use. However, you will probably experience something unpleasant if you keep using this website more than just one time. The only good thing of this website is that it displays cheap tickets. However, if something happens and you have to change your ticket after 24 hours of your purchasing, your should just throw away the ticket. No good things are offered by this company.
Their cheap tickets are not refundable, even when I had to cancel the ticket due to their fault. They did not inform me about the relevant visa that I had to get just to transfer a country. I came to know about it on the depart day at the airport. So I could not get on the plane. The website has not noticed anything about it to me. But they said they could not refund the ticket. The insurance that they offers does not work unless the canceling is due to some natural disaster.
They suggest alternative tickets saying that they are cheapest ones. However, they are not the cheapest ones. Many times, I could find much better tickets from other websites. For example, they suggested 1300 dollars tickets as exchange tickets (I had to pay 1300 dollars on top of my initial ticket that is amount to 900 dollars) and the ticket was with multiple stops and with weird time of arrival. They said that is the best alternate. However, I could find a 800 dollar non-stop airplane ticket with a good arrival time within a second by just googling. So purchasing a new ticket via other websites was much cheaper and better than changing a ticket though this website.
They do not inform all charges when you try to change your ticket within 24 hours Unlike what they said on the phone, I could find out other additional charges on my credit cards later. They did not inform me about the ticket accurately. They said I have to transfer one time. However, actually there was another hidden stop not written clearly on the ticket about which I have not been informed. That was a very weird ticket that I had never got before. They have cheap but bad tickets.
Very sorry for the inconvenience the customer experienced. However, our website does state in our terms and conditions that the tickets are mostly non refundable, but there are some tickets that are refundable. The terms of these tickets are mandated by the airlines, not the travel agencies, so we can only follow the rules put in place by that airline. We list underneath the flight she chose on our booking page a link to check for visa/passport needed for specific itins. If you book online, it is the responsibility of the customer to make sure they have the documents in order, again, we provided the link that appears was over looked.

I hardly ever book travel through third party services since you really don't save any money, and there are no guarantees for refunds if your plans fall through for whatever reason. But unfortunately, the air travel I was trying to plan seemed to only be available through third party (due I am guessing to timing, layovers, multiple carriers, etc etc etc whatever...), I just could not find my desired itinerary offered through any of the major airlines directly, so I decided to roll the dice and take a chance with CheapOair. And guess what? Yes, two months before the trip was to take place, I had to cancel my plans due to being diagnosed with a chronic health condition that would require major surgery, with specific instructions from my physician not to travel anytime in the immediate future!
OK, so I began the long and arduous process of contacting both CheapOair and American Airlines (who my ticket was generated through despite there being 2 other airlines involved in this round trip fare) many, many MANY times being shoved back and forth between the two companies. Because I booked through a third party service, AA could not cancel with a refund regardless of my situation, but that CheapOair would be able to. But then CheapOair said since the funds were already processed and given to AA, they could not cancel with a refund, but AA would be able to. Spoke with multiple levels of authority with both companies, in the end just sucked it up and took the travel credit for up to one year.
I finally got around to booking another trip with that credit, but after all of the transfer fees (which were charged when I cancelled the trip and then again when I rebooked), it ended up costing more than what the original ticket was as well as the new ticket so I basically had to eat that $438.00 original ticket + 150.00 cancel/transfer fees + 86.00 balance for new trip in total. That's big business for you, I guess.

You do, they tell you one of the flight is not available with Air France in my case but they can book same flight with KLM but with much higher price. :) If you try to cancel flight in the permitted period there is a penalty $75 per person and you will be waiting on the phone for cancellation department forever.

CheapOair used to be a fine online travel agent. I haven't booked within them in a while so I decided to book an intra-European one way ticket today. Within 10 minutes, I decided to cancel the ticket in order to rebook a different one with checked luggage. Now you have to call them to request a refund. I was shocked when they told me a $50 penalty/fee would be applied. I explained simply to them that SAS, in fact all airlines operating in and to the US, has to cancel for free within 24 hours, per US DOT regulations. How would I book with them in the future knowing that I would be penalized for canceling when I can just book directly with the airline and cancel for free? How are they planning to stay in business?
The agent put me on hold and came back with a 50% discount. The penalty is now $25. I said "Sorry but that won't do." The agent put me on hold again and came back with free cancellation. We'll see. As long as you're OK with paying a big penalty for canceling, go ahead and book with CheapOair. But why do that if you can book directly with the airlines and cancel for free? I'm afraid CheapOair may not stay in business for long. Please be very careful.

I had a specific request for booking a flight, and the live chat person was not qualified for the job. The person's name was Gracia. I told her that my mother and children would be flying out of Atlanta Airport, and that the children would need one way tickets and my mother would need a round trip. I gave the ages of my children. At 1st, she said that she could not book unaccompanied minors. I clearly stated that they were flying with their grandmother. Then she stated that it would not be possible to book a round trip with 2 one ways, unless I paid the extra fees of unaccompanied minors. (Shake my head. They will not be unaccompanied!)
I asked for 3 one ways and 1 one way to return. I asked for Des Moines and all surrounding state airports, and listed St. Louis, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Omaha. I said that the flight could not be late at night. She asked me the birthdates of my children. She stated that since my older son would be 12 at the time of the flight, he would have to have an adult ticket. I told her, no, the flight is for 6/30, and he will not turn 12 until 8/30. She argued with me, then finally just told me that I needed to check my math. I firmly replied that I know how old my own son is, and that he would definitely be 11, and I would not pay for an adult ticket for him. She would not respond.
After several minutes, she found an expensive flight departing at 11 pm. I explained once again that my mother was going to have to fly back to Atlanta that day, and that it could not be late at night (even if she had gotten an immediate return flight home, she would have arrived after 3 am. (She is 65 and lives an hour from the airport.) She said there was only 1 more option, leaving an hour earlier, but was 3 times the price. After considering getting a hotel for my mother to stay overnight, so that she would not have to return home late at night, I just decided to give up on CheapOair. I went to another website, and found tickets at 1/2 the price, and exactly at the time of day I desired within moments. The live chat on CheapOair was a big waste of the little free time I have right now, and was frustrating repeating myself and her arguing with me. I will never use their service again.

I was extremely excited about visiting Ukraine and CheapOair had the best prices as well as flight accommodations available. I was a little nervous to book with CheapOair because of the mixed reviews. I decided to book with them anyway. Well here is what I can say. I called and spoke to someone after making my online reservation and I was greeted promptly and with courtesy. As my flight date approached, I called them to make sure all of my reservations were still as I expected, and once again was greeted promptly and with additional courtesy. I had no problems whatsoever with my flight, nor with anyone in their customer service. I want to go back to Ukraine and therefore will use them again. I have to give them 5 stars because for me, everything went off without a hitch and my trip to Ukraine was excellent!!

I requested CheapOair to connect with my airline and change my passenger name information through email. After 48 hours, they still haven't responded with even a simple acknowledgment that my email (with passport information) has been received. Calling in, they told me it takes 8 whole days for them to even begin processing requests. The very next morning, I took the initiative to call the airline and was able to connect in 15 minutes. The airline representative said that it was a very simple process with no additional charge even for CheapOair and the rebooking can be done quickly.
8 days to process what took me 15 minutes is ridiculous, what if the passenger needs to confirm their scheduling? Upon calling in, they told me that even if I cancel, it will take "3 billing cycle" with 1 billing cycle = to 1 month to receive the refund. This is beyond ridiculous and if I do not get an appropriate response, I will escalate this to my provincial consumer protection agency to review the legality of their terms. I highly discourage anyone else from using their service.

I booked a round trip flight through CheapOair. CheapOair never submitted my contact information to the airline itself, and so when one of the flights was canceled, Volaris could not get in touch with me. CheapOair claims they did not know the flight was canceled, though it shows up as canceled on every website. I was never informed until it was too late to book on another reasonable replacement flight. CheapOair not only denies any responsibility for the misinformation, their customer service team was rude from the getgo.
I was both told that I had to talk to the airline, and when I did, I was told that by doing so, I left CheapOair in a position where they cannot do anything about the situation. I started out polite, but was constantly interrupted and talked down to. I was then put on hold for over an hour-- I believe with the intent of getting me to hang up without resolution. No small dollar amount of savings are worth the hassle, the disrespect, and ultimately the loss of money since now I am missing a chunk of my planned trip. What is the point of a site like this?

On 5/8/18, my wife and I had flights booked from Orlando to Aruba for 6/5. The flight was booked to return on 6/9/18. In booking the flight and choosing flights, putting in credit info, etc., we received a pop up window stating the flight back thru Spirit Airlines was no longer available. We used the website to rebook thru a different airline. We received our confirmation from CheapOair with our flight itinerary. The itinerary showed we would be flying American Airlines down to Aruba and Copa Airlines on our return trip.
On 5/22/18, I reviewed my credit card that I recently received. I discovered I had a charge for $462.98 from Spirit Airlines. This was in addition to charges from both American and Copa Airlines. I called Spirit Airlines and determined that the flight was indeed from Aruba to Orlando for both my wife and I. I then called CheapOair and told them what happen and they said it was purchased thru the Spirit Airline website and I would need to resolve this with them. I stated that this was all done thru the CheapOair website and they needed to help me resolve this. He conferenced me with Spirit Airlines. The Spirit Airlines rep stated that the flight was booked thru the Spirit Airlines website. CheapOair rep said it was out of their hands.
I kept both parties on the phone trying to explain that it was all done thru the CheapOair website without making progress. Finally, I asked Spirit what they could do to cancel the flight. They offered me a credit of $183.02. Ouch! Spirit stated they emailed a confirmation. My wife checked her trash and reviewed all the emails we got between 5/8 and 5/12. There wasn't any itinerary confirmations from Spirit. After much discussion I got the Spirit rep to get a Supervisor. After some discussion the Supervisor stated she would credit me the entire $462.98 because they could not find a confirmation to me, but this was not their normal Policy. I told her I appreciated her credit and would have seen the double booking if I would have received the email.
I am extremely upset with CheapOair as it was their website where the trip was booked and the pop up window appeared stating the return flight with Spirit was not available. If we had booked with Spirit, why would we not take Spirit down and back? It concerns me that when dealing with CheapOair, it showed that Spirit said we were on their website. I do not know what airlines fly to Aruba and never would have looked at a specific airline. Before Spirit finally decided to credit me for the full amount, the Rep from CheapOair truly believed we used the Spirit website and would not give us to a supervisor when I asked him for one. I asked for an escalation procedure to move this up to the chain of command to try and resolve. All he would give me was general email addresses and no one in particular. To put it bluntly, the chain of command stopped with him and CheapOair is not responsible. (He did not say this).
I will never use CheapOair website as I was extremely disappointed in the way their customer service is set up. Someone in IT really needs to find out why this happened and explain to the Customer Service reps. Kudos for Spirit to realizing their error in not sending a confirmation itinerary and taking care of me. CheapOair, you have worked to do in finding out why I got a pop up window on your site saying the flight with Spirit wasn't available and then somehow passing info to their site. Maybe the reason I did not get an itinerary confirmation from Spirit was because of this glitch.

Do yourself a favor and do not use this service. They booked me on the wrong flight when I was traveling for business and tried to blame it on the airline. I was standing in line to board the flight to Charlotte to make a connection to Daytona when I was told I was not on the manifest, yet I had a written confirmation from CheapOair that I was. I called them while I was standing in line for the flight and they kept me on hold for 3 hours, (they hung up on me twice so I had to call back), well after the flight left, trying to find out whose fault it was rather than rebooking me on a flight.
Since I did not book my ticket directly with the airline, they would not help me. I had to work with a call center in the Philippines that could have given a crap. They told me to call back when I reached my destination. I finally got on another flight which put me hours behind my scheduled arrival. I was scheduled to teach a class at 8am, and was supposed to deliver my props and presentation to the technical staff who would wait until 10pm. I missed them, so I stayed up all night because I got to the hotel at 2am.
Neither the airline (American) or CheapOair cared about me standing around. They were trying to figure out who to blame. American showed me my booking record, it was not changed from the time it was booked and the original flight was not canceled or changed. CheapOair booked it incorrectly yet they continued to say, "It was not their fault. We can't help it if the flight gets changed." I kept telling them, "The flight was never changed. I'm standing in line for the flight." "We can only rebook if American says it is their fault and they release the funds." Please do not use them. There is no customer service should something go wrong. If you are holding a ticket, be sure and call the airline to make sure it was booked as purchased. Get a confirmation from the airline not CheapOair because the airline will not honor their confirmation.

Therefore, I called back the next morning less than 24 hours since the original booking and told the agent to cancel the flights. The agent said he is not allowed to cancel a flight and he would transfer me to the correct department.
After being on hold for over hour the same agent came back on the phone and said he would correct any booking error. However, after another half hour on the phone, I said would he please just cancel these flights. He put me on hold again after another wait, the agent came back on the phone stating I was 4 minutes over the time limit. I said, "You have kept me on the phone for more than an hour and if you canceled the flights when I said to, the cancellation was timely". I told the agent's supervisor I paid extra to have a flexible ticket but that didn't help. I was charged over $247 for tickets and $107 in fees from CheapOair. Ali, we certainly understand the situation, as a travel agency we have no control over the rules of the fare that are put in place by the airlines. We offered trip insurance which covers medical conditions, but not court dates. The rules of your ticket if advised allow changes with the airline penalty, and add collect for the new dates. There are no exceptions that we can over ride.

Our experience with CheapOair was a total nightmare. We were flying Pittsburgh to Ft. Myers. (May 7, 2018 - May 17, 2018). We were sent an email that our flight would cost $651.92 and when we got back from our trip we found that we were charged $82.90 by them for making this reservation and then charged $19.90 for baggage insurance that we said we didn't want when we made the reservation, but they said it was free. Then we let them arrange for a car rental which we said we wanted to have a car at the airport and they insisted that we had to pay for it in full at the time of making our reservations at a cost of $290.91. When we arrived in Florida the car rental agency was not at the airport, but offsite.
After walking about a half mile in the hot sun with our luggage, we finally found the shuttle stop to the car rental agency. Of course, no one answered the courtesy phone at the bus shanty, so we waited in the hot sun for 25 minutes before the shuttle pulled up to the bus shanty. We get to the car rental agency and they wanted to give us a smaller car than we paid for and then charged us again for the car even though I had a receipt for the prepaid car. They insisted that they had not received any payment from CheapOair. After two hours we finally got a car and the cost was $263.57 with us also buying a tank of gas for $38 which made me wonder why CheapOair charged us $290.91 just for the rental. Gas was not included in this price. Another rip off.
This car rental agency was recommend by the travel agent. And the car rental agency said they have trouble with this travel agency all the time. The inside of the car had not been cleaned and the outside was dirty and covered with dead bugs. And we found out later when we needed window washing solution there was none. Luckily, it rained a few times and the car got washed and cleaned the windshield. Totally frustrated and stressed over the renting of the car, we still had an hour drive to Marco Island so we just took the car and got on the road. Will never again use CheapOair or Advantage Car Rental.

In the end the manager told me they can't call England where my flight is??? Really??? But the funny part is I call in England to get info for my cancelled flight, funny right? :) I have no choice but to call my AMEX and stop the charges. I get my money back because of my credit card company, about 377$. Later on Cheapoair.com call me about some 65$ charging. I explained them and they said, "No worries. We bought our tickets a month in advance. CheapOair recommended getting insurance in case anything happens and you miss your flight! We have never bothered with insurance before and not had problems but since this was such an important flight we went ahead an purchased the extra insurance. At 8 am the morning of our flight I tried checking in online through CheapOair. DIDN'T WORK! We thought no big deal we will just get there a little earlier to check in even though it said to check in an hour early. We had a tire blow out on our way to the airport but still managed to get there an hour early. Walk up to the counter at 12:16 and the lady wouldn't check us in. Said check-in closed at 12:15. We told her we had insurance and asked if we could still check in or at least get refunded for this flight so we could catch another leaving in an hour. No help whatsoever.
Called CheapOair customer service. After sitting on hold for an hour I was finally connected with a rep who didn't speak English. We explained our situation and that we tried checking in online and it didn't work. He was of absolutely no help either. Told us there was nothing we could do that we were considered a no show! I asked what good was this insurance we paid for and about the issue of not being able to check in online that morning and he couldn't even give me an answer! It was recommended by the airline rep to call the insurance company. Unfortunately, they were just as useless as CheapOair! Not only did we miss an important family event (I haven't seen my family in almost 10yrs) but we are now out the money and added completely unnecessary stress to my pregnancy!
CheapOair is nothing but a rip off and a huge waste of time! I will never use them again and have been warning all our family and friends who are appalled at how our situation was handled! *I would like to add there were about 10 other people who showed up to check in after we did. They offered to charge me $50 for name change, even though the website said free cancellation within 24 hours, but they were going to charge me $75 if I just cancel and buy the ticket again, so I agreed with the 50 just to correct my name. Then later when I reviewed my credit card, in addition to $50 they charged me for extra 35 for seat assignments which I did not.
My credit card got charged 925 + 50 + 15 + 20, which is way more than the fee they listed on their "new" receipt so I am filing a dispute and still haven't heard from them. The service CheapO provides is simple and easy to navigate and I have never had any trouble with ticketing or at check in. I have used CheapO exclusively for many years. One issue that could be improved. I recently had to change a booking as I had booked the wrong flight. My fault entirely. The operator cancelled the flight, and then quoted another flight that would have required me to pay and extra $220 AUD. I happened to be on the website which showed another flight, exactly the same but with a different airline that required only a $20 addition. The operator was apologetic, but it's just something the operators need to be careful of. All in all though, the service is generally very good. I will continue to use CheapO in future.

I told the person, "The cancellation policy is not clear when you are booking your flight. It's deceiving and misleading." He said it's the fine print which says, "Please read the 'terms' page when you checkout." I also asked if my booking can be re-instated if I cancelled 2 minutes ago and they said, "NO. The refund has been processed already." So in the end I'm losing $300 for not being informed and for a trip which I will not be able to go to. Following week I contacted CheapOair again to follow up on the process and was told that they are working on it and they are not sure about how long it will take for the issue to get resolved.
I asked to speak to the supervisor who told me the same thing. "Someone will contact you in the timely manner," however no timeline was given. Later that day I received a call from a person in the waiver’s department who said “do not worry mam” and that he will be handling my case from now on and need to collect 100$ processing fee so that they can proceed with the corrections. He sent me an email which included his extension number and said that I can contact him with any questions after and that he is assigning a person to my case who will contact me shortly. Customer purchased tickets and later wanted to make a change, however new fare and change penalties to expensive so chose to take a refund. Purchased a new set of tickets, so she will have two charges for the sets of tickets. The 1st set is be processed for a refund, and takes 1-2 billing cycles for the credit. I told him I needed a flight the next day which was on Friday and I was going out of town for weekend and back on Monday which was recorded. He said ok. I paid. He read trip back off to me and said ok. When I was coming back from my trip to get on airline they said they did not have me on flight. They said, "The travel agent booked you for flight back on JULY 23," which it was April 23 and who knows maybe he read back my trip correctly and I said ok.
I was busy but there has to be common sense. I told him I was going for the weekend not 3 and a half months. I never told him July ever. July never once came out of my mouth. The worst thing is that there was open seating on the flight that I was getting on and the same time I was booking for online originally. I called down and spoke to someone and they said that is when it was booked and could not help me at all and that I would have to pay for a flight home. The worst part is I was not looking for anything for free. No upgrades nothing. All they had to do was push a button to switch me days. The flight was already paid for in advance. There was extra seating on that plane. The funny thing is that I knew no one would help me because I don't believe in these CheapOair agents or agencies really care how many customers they lose. After being on phone with CheapOair for almost 3 hours, they claim that I did not apply the gift card and will not apply it to this trip. I never gave Frontier Airline permission to debit my account for anything and now both CheapOair and Frontier said there is nothing they can do except book another flight because I still have a $400 gift certificate to use for another trip.
I am still not done arguing with them, but can assure you that I will never use either service again and do not recommend anyone purchasing a gift certificate from CheapOair for anyone!!!! Terrible customer service with CheapOair - says it was user error! I would have never have pushed submit if balance due was $400.00 at check-out, when total bill before applying gift certificate was $427.00. They asked if I took screenshots as I was booking trip and applying certificate... Are you serious! When the total bill is $42.90, to me it was obvious that certificate was applied. What a scam. Of course in their opinion there could never be a glitch on their end and it is "user error".
Their answer is to just book another flight and use certificate then. Note to CheapOair, not everyone has that luxury. My daughter did a beautiful thing for her father and I, only to have it ruined by a company that does not have their customer's best interest in mind. I even asked CheapOair for a refund of the gift certificate in order for me to deposit back into my account but again their answer to the issue was simply just book another flight for another time. Apparently their name fits their reputation. Live and learn!!!! Looks like my next step is to dispute it with my Credit Union!!!
Tina, we will arrange for someone from billing to reach out to you. However, if a gift certificate was entered into the system and the fare was cheaper, you should not have needed to enter in a credit card, the GC was all you needed.

"What a bummer", never heard that you need to pay extra money to pick the seats by yourself. If we do not pay, we have to wait till the day we check in; the chance that three of us (including a kid) sit together will be very low. We got the call from the company quickly after making the reservation; the guy over the phone said he would like to help us to select the seat; but we have to pay $50 in order to make the seat selection now. I was upset about the fact that we have to pay some money to select the seats; so told the guy that we consider canceling the tickets.
We asked him we can cancel our tickets within 24 hours without fee, he said "yes". After three hours, we decided to cancel the reservation; so called the company and let them know we are going to cancel the seat. We were asked the reason for canceling. After explaining to him that we are not quite happy with the charge of selecting the seat in advance, the guy said your seats are selected, we asked, "When?", the guy said, "Just now," and also told us that we should already got the email confirmation, I checked the email several times without seeing any confirmation email.
Finally, about 5 minutes later the email came and showing the tickets seats selected. Obviously, after hearing that we are going to cancel the tickets, they quickly selected the seats for us without any charges. The guy also used it to against us to cancel the reservation, saying that once the seats were selected, it means that you already booked the tickets; it is hard to cancel. Considering they are not quite reliable, we still want to cancel the reservation, the guy said that you have to pay $75 for each person to cancel the tickets. It means that we need to pay $225 for the three of us, at the end, we end up of nothing by paying $225.
After talking to the supervisor, he said it is clearly said about the policy in the home page. We went to the homepage, we did not see any note saying that $75 will be charged when canceled within 24 hours. Then he said you need to go the booking page, after you finishing booking, you will see the charge of "$75" fee if cancel within 24 hours. There has never been a time that that fare was available at the exact moment that it comes up for the EXACT DATES! There is no such deals."
All fares are based on availability and also have specific travel dates, times, and days of the week. Because a fare appears, doesn't always mean it's for your specific travel date. It is listed the dates the fare is valid for and the last day to purchase. This is marketing, and all companies utilize it. If you would like assistance with pricing, we will be glad to check into for you. We have a 24/7 call center, with a toll free number to call from Philadelphia.

You ask my opinion from a customer standpoint. Not a manager or CEO. STANDPOINT. Sometime when people book a flight circumstances chance. Whereas you need to change date and time of departure and return date and time. It is very costly to do so. I understand if it's short notice. But date and time change was over a 154 days in advance over five months and you had seats available. This policy change alone would increase your sales and booking. Thank you.

Booked Madrid to Dublin instead of Madrid to Dubai, search engine changed from DXB to DUB while it was searching. In short I booked the wrong destination and so I called right away (within 30 mins) answered by 3 different agents, the first 2 basically said they can't do anything about it since Ryanair's contact number cannot be contacted at this moment. Gave the overseas numbers so I can call them by myself. I was asking them regarding the free 24 hour cancellation they are advertising and the 24-hr reservation requirement mandated by the Department of Transportation's consumer rule "Enhancing airline passenger's protection" but I didn't get a straight answer. The last agent Vlata at least told me that she submitted a request to cancel to the airline and that I should have answer before my 24 hr is over. I so felt helpless and very dissatisfied.

I initially booked a flight that I thought it’s a good deal for a weekend out of town. But it automatically confirmed another day (three weekdays prior to the original date) upon spending approximately 1 hour on the phone right after to see if the date can be changed to what I initially clicked on I was told there will be over 50$ fee to do that and that cancellation won’t be without a fee either! I haven’t had a similar experience elsewhere.

First of all, never believe on their advertisement of free cancellation in 24 hours. I booked an International flight and had to cancel within only 15-20 minutes due to change of plans and they still charge me cancellation amount. When I called I received reply "even if you cancel in 10 seconds we charge certain amount" AND BIGGEST SURPRISE of all they charged extra 5$ few days after without my knowledge, I recently find out after looking at my credit card statement.

Cancelled a flight from CheapOair last year. Paid $50 cancellation fee. Tried to reuse the credit this year. The cust. rep. choose the flight said it's the right price, I asked him find other price. He said, "Let me cancel this flight reservation for you so that I can let other book their ticket." (That seemed very pushy) He did not give any options. Flight price he mentioned where nowhere near what I could see on WestJet or CheapOair website. I decided to go ahead with that price. $587.98 (Exactly $100 more than credit from last year) and another $80 penalty. On top of that, he never mentioned that was US dollars not Canadian dollars. So I have noticed this weird pattern with CheapOair any changes cost more than 150US dollars. Lack of options/transparency, pushy customer sales rep. are few reasons why I'll never book flights from CheapOair again.

I booked a ticket for my mother with CheapOair, in January, travel was in March. On travel day the airline stated that she couldn't travel because she had two flight connections in two European countries in one day, she had a passport from a country not allowed to connect twice in one day. So I called CheapOair customer service to notify them about the issue, to my disappointment they stated that I've to pay $2000 to rebook another flight because I should have known before booking and the ticket is nonrefundable... Something to that effect.
The agent was rude too. First of all, how does an agent not know that you cannot connect to two European countries in one day? I find it strange that you do not know the regulations in your line of business yet you depend on customers to make money. Customers beware. Definitely not booking with them again in the future. Note: if the ticket was book via airline directly, all was needed was to pay a fee and get to the next flight... but with CheapOair... you have to pay all over again.
