Called to say that I was going to miss my flight, car trouble on my way to the airport. Wanted to know if I could get on the next flight. I was told "no" because I had a basic ticket, no refunds or charges. My ticket would be canceled and I would have to buy another ticket. I would lose the money I paid. They couldn't help me anymore they told me. So I called United Airlines and they put me on the next available flight with no extra fees!!!! Thanks CheapOair for not trying to help me resolve my problem and trying to keep my money telling me that I needed to purchase another ticket.

I booked a round-trip flight for my daughter from the US to Prague and back for a four-month trip. CheapOair sent me two emails during her time away letting me know about very minor changes to her return flights. Yet, when the trans-Atlantic portion of her trip was cancelled altogether, we were NEVER notified. It was only because I never received an email the day before she was to fly home enabling her to check in online for her flight home that I called the airline and learned that the trans-Atlantic portion of her flight had been cancelled.
Luckily, after speaking with a supervisor, the airline was able to get her switched to an earlier flight, but CheapOair did virtually nothing. Nor, despite numerous email exchanges, did this company ever take ANY responsibility for not notifying us of her flight cancellation. This was despite the fact that CheapOair had sent an email months earlier about a 5-minute change in one of her upcoming flight arrival times. So apparently a 5-minute flight differential is worth notifying customers about, but a flight cancellation is not. CheapOair's excuse was that the flight cancellation was a last-minute change (which it wasn't), and that it was not responsible for notifying us. If I hadn't called the airline, and if the airline had not generously worked with us, my daughter would have missed her only opportunity to get home. I will never use this company again.

Booked a domestic ticket for my mom and used her common first name "Debbie" instead of birth name "Debra". Customer service wanted to charge a $34 name change fee. I felt this was ridiculous to have to charge a fee so I asked to cancel the order, which the person replied that they would charge a $50 cancellation fee. I asked to speak with a Manager and they transferred me to a customer care specialist.
The customer care person said shed try to make the change for me without a charge. After being on hold for 15 minutes she came back and informed me that the tickets now increased in price by $90 and that she could make the change if I paid the $90 fee and would waive the name change fee. What a great deal huh???? Bottom line with CheapOair is that they're obviously trying to nickel and dime everyone to death. How about that great Boarding Pass text option from them for $3.95 - you get this free with any reputable airline or professional travel company. Stay far away from this foreign run scam company!!!

I booked my flight 3/18 for 7/2 with them. I heard my connection flight was cancelled because the company went bankrupt. I called them multiple times to see how it stands. They told me it was too early to check. I emailed and was on phone many times. They finally sent me an email, telling me that my flight was cancelled and they will return my money, not all of it, within two pay periods (which I did not understand that).
I called desperate and told them I paid for flight insurance and they could not do this to me. The supervisor (woman) left me waiting on the phone for 1 hour. She said that she could not do nothing, but everything was cancelled by the airline. I asked about my flight insurance and she told me to call insurance. What? I paid for CheapOair the insurance. Finally after 1 hour and 30 min on the phone waiting, they hung up on me. I had the thought to call the airline and they told me they never will cancel a flight and refund without talking to the client first, that they will re-issue my tickets and if I do not want a refund I will get my flight without a problem. Everything was resolved within 20 min or less. They told me that the Agency that sold me the tickets have no power of changing flights or cancelling anything after the tickets were sold and the insurance was paid for the CheapOair, not for the Airline.
This CheapOair has been scamming people for years. Poor customer service and they let you waiting on the phone for hours and could they just have told me to call the airlines? Wouldn't that be easy, to let me know that I need to contact the airlines directly? But if they had done that I will find out their scam, which I found anyway. I never, never will buy with them again. If your flight change, please call the airline directly!!!!

I booked through CheapOair for my flight, car, and hotel reservation for May 15/16. Although the flight was fine, the car rental was unavailable--despite the assigned time. AND, more importantly, the Delta Hotels By Marriott Anaheim Garden Grove reservation was horribly executed. If you want to WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, and ENERGY, stay at the Marriott Anaheim Garden Grove hotel.
Unfortunately, the establishment was rude and unaccommodating. They put me in a room below the construction. So I woke up to power tools and other construction sounds at 7:30am Thursday morning. It was disruptive and frustrating. On top of that, the wifi was intermittent. The gym was unavailable, and the outdoor parking was unreasonably priced considering that most of the spots were taken up by construction trucks. Although I inquired about why they would assign a guest to a loud room, or if I could speak with a manager, they passed the buck along to you guys and blamed your site for not disclosing their situation.
The manager didn't give me the corporate number to share my complaint; rather, he just gave your number. They failed to take responsibility to rectify the situation. When I contacted CheapOair, there was no recourse. Again, if you want to waste your time, energy, and money while on vacation, stay at the ridiculous Delta establishment on Harbor Boulevard. They don't care about customer service. They'll happily pass the buck along to anyone.

I was trying to make a booking for Turkish Airlines and was having problem. All of a sudden I got the call from CheapOair. I booked my ticket. Then made hotel reservations (free cancellations). Now I cancelled my trip. Ticket is non refundable (guy did not tell me what he was doing to me). Hence if I don't travel, no refund is made whatsoever. On hotel cancellation, they are charging me $30 for each cancellation and have not given any date for refund of the amount (open ended). I don't know when I will get my money. At the same time I cancelled a booking with Airbnb, I immediately got a notification of full refund which will reach my account in ten business days. They claim they will call you if you email them. They never called me when I emailed them. I learned the lesson of my life with CheapOair.

We booked our flight to Quito Ecuador on CheapOair with Support Package. Cancellation should have been free. Initially, we booked this flight online. When we thought we were done, we got a call from CheapOair that our booking did not go through. The agent said he would help us re-create exactly what we had before. I enquired about cancellation because I noticed on the top of the page, it says 24 hours cancellation. He said because this is International flights, there will be $75 cancellation per person if we cancel. But if we have the Support Package, then it will be free. Because I haven’t been able to confirm our tour in Ecuador, I thought it would a good idea to buy the package. The agent told us that he would put this into two bookings. I thought nothing of it. He confirmed it with emails and texts.
15 minutes later we got another call from the CheapOair’s Charge Department. He told us he was able to process the charges for one bookings but not the 2nd one. After a long discussion, we called our credit card company. They were blocked because they tried to chop the entire transaction into small pieces (12 charges). Anyway, at our request, the cc company released the rest of the charges.
The next day I tried to coordinate with our tours again but couldn’t. At 6:30 pm I called to cancel CheapOAir the number shown on the bookings. No answer. I called the general number. They couldn’t help me with cancellation so they transfer me to the “cancellation department”. After following the prompts, I was put on hold. 10 minutes later, a robotic voice came to phone to ask for feedback. Before I even had a chance to respond, the voice said “good-bye” and disconnected. After a few more attempts, same thing happened. I finally was connected and held on line for TWO HOURS. No one ever came to the phone and I was disconnected after 2 hours. As I was holding on the phone, I still tried desperately to connect with someone on "Chat".
Finally someone answered my “chat”. I explained to her the situation. I was on “chat” with her for more than 1 hour. She told me she had to charge me $130 for each person. When I reminded her that I purchased the Support Package. Then she said I only bought the package on one booking but not two, so she still had to charge me. I told her I didn’t book this as two bookings, and I don’t know why the agents put it into two bookings. She kept telling me that she could not cancel this without charging me a cancellation fee. Then she said she was willing to give me a break and charge me $130. I told her no. That’s not what the agreement was.
This dragged on until 9:30, then she said, my time ran out, and if I want to cancel I have to cancel then with the $130 cancellation. At this point, I was upset, tired and defeated. So I told her to cancel. I agreed to cancel but I did not agree to pay the $130. During the entire time, she could not offer any explanation of the charges and the amount. Cancellation was made on 5/6 and as of today, we haven't seen the full refund yet. They are funding us in $1, .01, etc. a few dollars, a few cents a day. I will NEVER patronize them again.

I feel like I was scammed by this site. What they do is lure people with relatively low prices, and then once you are in their trap, they will suck your money with the fine print. Every little consultation or change as minor as it seem they will charge you with no remorse. Worse part is that their service sucks. I requested a change for my flight, they did it wrong and wanted to charge me for the correction. There is when I realize they were not only charging me for the fare difference but for a lot of "service fees". Ended up paying much more in those service fees than on the tickets itself. My recommendation is to use more reputable sites.

When I booked with CheapOair, I received a confirmation. Then 10 emails ads. One of them was mentioning that I HAVE to call CheapOair because it was a problem... I did. The dates and fly I booked was no longer available. When a company advertise something online, this company must be not deceive its client with false advertising, this is a legal matter. It doesn't seems to disturb them because who will go to court for a ticket @$600 and they know. So, they will pretend that they are not responsible of Airline (but client is responsible of CheapOair advertising??!! Logic!!! Check out their answer).
Anyway, they changed my date because they don't refund. So I had no choice. I had one more stop: So I had to pay one hotel + taxi back and forth in Martinique where there is no hotel close to the airport. Then, the day after I stopped in Guadeloupe, then in Dominica, then in Sint Maarten, when I should initially arrive straight back to Sint Maarten. AND ON TOP, the "new super" ticket did NOT INCLUDE my luggage. So I had to pay again for my luggage. Awful. Disgusting service. NEVER AGAIN. CHEAP IS EXPENSIVE. I am not happy and spread the word.

This company’s service is not to trust. On April 30th I booked a flight on their website to leave at 7 am on May 25th to NYC however; the confirmation showed a different flight schedule with an 11 am departure. I called CheapOair immediately after receiving the confirmation via email, spoke to a supervisor who made the modifications on their end, ensured My reservation showed departure at 7 am. I then received another email confirming this Schedule. As the time approached today May 24th, and I am ready to check in for my flight I was surprised to see the flight was changed again to 11 am. The supervisor who I spoke to this morning said I was the one who made the last modification on May 1st which is not true.
I know I made a huge mistake of trusting this company with my flight schedule and now I’m paying the price for it. They are dishonest and disrespectful and assume no accountability. I feel the supervisor I spoke to on April 30th made it seemed he had resolved the issue to get me off the phone and then went back again the next day and changed my flight back. It is sad that I’ve been treated this way and hope consumers stay away from this company. At least I will.

I've been using Cheapoair since i can't even remember (i'll say 2009-20010), so about 10 yrs. They've always been my first go to site for cheap flights and everything was good in the beginning but as of recently, the company has gotten a little sneaky with their fees and the way they go about your bookings. I'll recount two recent incidents - i'm sure others have found themselves in similar situations:
Last year my family and I planned an international trip. I purchased all of our flights from cheapoair (5 adults 1 infant). Right after booking the flight, i received a call from a representative pressing me to reserve my seats in advance. I went ahead and reserved the seats so the entire family would sit together - had to pay extra per seat. When the rep called me, i was under the impression that we wouldn't be able to fly or get seated together if we didn't book in advance or the airline would charge us when we got to the kiosk. Whatever, i reserved the extra seats to be on the safe side.
On the day of our flight, we arrived at the airport to find out that 1) we were not getting our reserved seats 2) the baby's ticket number was not registering and we couldn't check in without the baby's ticket number. We spent an hour at the kiosk waiting for them to find the number, after calling around, they had to issue a new ticket for the baby and they couldn't do so without issuing a new adult ticket. Not the way you want to start your trip and a long flight - needless to say it, everyone was irritated and tired by the time we got on board. We finally get to our seats and guess what, they screwed up the seating arrangement - a service we had already paid for to guarantee that we would actually be seated together.
I recently booked a trip with cheapoair for my sister in law who's going overseas with my niece. While booking the ticket, i looked at the baggage information to see if we would have to pay and extra fees for checked baggages - it said there were no baggage fees for that airline. I go forward with booking the flights. When i get the email, i skip reserving my seats for the extra $116 fee. I immediately get a call from cheapoair and the rep asks why i hadn't reserved my seats. I tell him that i'm not interested we just want the flights.
Earlier i'd try to verify the baggage rules on the airlines website and couldnt see them so i asked the cheapoair rep for the exact policy. That's when he informs me that i purchased an "ECONOMY LIGHT" fare. Meanwhile when i was booking the flights, the options were coach, premium economy, business and first. But apparently, economy light is a secret layer where they charge extra added fees with no explanation. Will book directly from the airlines from now on. Our dollars can be spent better elsewhere.

I made reservations through CheapOair to fly out from Missouri to New York on May 23 flight time at 12:27, return flight day May 27, departure time 7:05 am. I checked my itinerary the day before the flight and found out that my returning departure time had been changed to 5:01 am. I thought no biggie. Just a couple of hours. I drive an hour and half to the airport only to find out not only had the time changed but so had the day. They changed my flight day to May 22, a day early. Well, needless to say I didn’t get to go on my trip.
I tried calling the 800 number listed but no one would answer. I called my credit card company to stop the charges only to find out CheapOair overcharged my account $100. My credit card company are disputing the charges on my behalf. If I could give them a minus star rating I would have. After reading all of the reviews I am seriously considering contacting my attorney and my congressional representative and have a more thorough investigation started for fraudulent activity.

At first they said they couldn’t do it, then they said they would, but there would be a $50 charge. Finally, after talking to a supervisor, and reading him their rules and regulations that I found online they agreed to cancel the flight. Then it took two more calls to verify the cancellation because they kept sending email confirmations for the flight. I wasted at least 3 hours dealing with them and will never use them again.

Frantic to get there I was forced to buy new tickets from another airline since CheapOair could not reschedule for two days. My family was at receiving airport for my original flight picking up other family from another airline. While there my CANCELLED flight came in “on time”. Now I am demanding a refund and again I am getting the runaround. We were actually bumped from our flight.... More than likely they resold our tickets to someone else for a higher price. I have heard of this type of scam but never thought I would be a victim.

I booked two tickets on CheapOair before realizing that that multiple long layovers added 11 plus hours to each trip. I immediately called customer assistance to inquire about options with shorter layovers, and was told that anything with shorter layovers would add $500 plus to each ticket. I went online and found a NON-STOP option for the same price, dates, and airports. The nonstop carrier was listed on the CheapOair site at triple the real price. They lied to me in order to sell their crappy bottom-grade flights. I ended up eating the price of the two 20-hour flights in order to rebook the nonstop flight at virtually the same price. Bottom line: this company is dishonest and disreputable. Beware.

I initially booked a trip on CheapOair, because the fare was a little cheaper than other sites. I thought, well, I will give it again. Also, in the CheapOair website said that if you paid extra money (I think it was about $12), you would be covered for cancellation fee and "speedy" customer service. So I did, as well as extra money for "price drop alert" (extra $5). I thought with these 2 extra paid service, I would be OK. But I was wrong or being played by CheapOair. My first booking was for early May, but my job would not let me go because they need more time for scheduling. So I had to cancel it less than 1 day.
It was not easy at all canceling though CheapOair! They wanted to charge cancellation fee! I told that I had paid for cancellation fees. But the guy (with Indian accent) told me that the money was "only" for "speedy" customer service. After much argument and I told him that I would book another trip for later on day on their website, he agreed to give me the refund. As you might have figured it out, the second trip, although giving more time, was more expensive than the first one. I also, booked one day hotel via CheapOair. It said $33/night and I booked it, but the woman (with Indian accent) told me that it came up to $72 because there is a fee and she assured me that I could cancel it anytime before my trip day on May 27th. I need the hotel booking information for my visa. I thought, well, I could cancel it after I have got the visa.
I did get the visa quickly. But When I called back 2 days ago asking for cancellation of the hotel, I was put on hold for a long time ("speedy" customer service?!), the man with Indian accent told me that he can only give me $33 not the full refund. I explained to him that when I was booking the hotel, his colleague told me that I could cancel it with full refund any time before May 27th and it was way before that. After that, he said that he would give me the full refund and I would receive a confirmation email soon. I did received two emails with the confirmation, except that it did not mention anything about the full refund.
Today, May 21, I have received an email from the refund department and only refund me $35.21. not the full amount. I tried to email them back, but my email was blocked! What kind of ** company is this!? A group of crooks--lie, play and steal from their customers! I had tried different online booking companies. Recently, I booked a trip via another company. I did not like the house in Cuba when I got there and the Booking.com gave me full refund without any fees. I just wanted to share my experience with CheapOair, so that you, the potential customer, will look elsewhere before you get played by CheapOair and waste your money! Do not deal with company like CheapOair that you can NOT TRUST!

I booked a flight through CheapOair. I had to postpone it for several reasons. I called their customer service line which routed me to a call center located in India. They did not explain the flight change policies and pricing breakdowns well and kept on changing what they would say. The company wanted to charge me as much money as I had initially paid for. The agents were not attending to my concerns and refused to answer some of my questions nor help find me a satisfying resolution or cancellation alternative.
I felt like the company had me tied up since I had already paid and literally did not consider my booking history as a regular returning customer. I was being kept on hold for over 20-30 minutes at a time without any reasonable reason. I decided to cancel my flight and got charged a $200 cancellation fee as well as refund of only 70% of the initial price. This has been by far the worst customer experience I have ever had and I will never consider booking anything from this company. Literally horrible service. Derek, our website is set up to display the least expensive fares first, we mention that as being alternate date. When searching for the flights that fit your needs you would have had to scroll down the availability until you see the dates you needed. We also have a pop up screen highlighted asking if you want these flights and we display them and also mention you have saved $$ by choosing alternate dates, if they didn't work for you, this is where you needed to select go back and start again. Our website doesn't switch the dates after your selection. If you didn't call within 24 hours to cancel or change than you have the airline change penalty, plus the actual cost of the ticket you would have paid if alternate dates were not selected. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

A month before we were to travel, we were notified that the flight that we booked never really existed in the first place and that we needed to choose to leave one day earlier or one day later. (Good thing we hadn't begun to book our hotels). It would frequently take a few phone calls to the help center to find someone who knew what they were doing. While we were away, out of the country, the plane that we were to fly home on were grounded worldwide. (Boeing 737 Max 8) I called the airline itself to see what the status of our flight was and was told that the flight was, indeed grounded.
They tentatively changed our reservations but recommended that we call CheapOair to officially have the reservation changed. When I called CheapOair, THEY told me that the flight wasn't grounded! I nearly had to yell at the guy to say "THE AIRLINE ITSELF SAYS IT IS GROUNDED!" The other issue was the flight insurance that you get through CheapOair. Trip Mate was TERRIBLE!! Wouldn't pay any of the additional expenses incurred as a result of the groundings of the plane. Never again!

Overall I am satisfied with the nonstop ticket I purchased for my 16-year-old son. I paid $158.00 dollars. But a few minutes after I had purchased the ticket, I saw a better deal for a round trip ticket that is now $179.00. Which is is only a few dollars more & way better than the one-way ticket I have already purchased.

The only thing I did not see on your website that if a traveler will need a special visa to where they are traveling I believe the travel agency should advise us of the necessary traveling documents.

After the second time Cheapo sent me a confirmation that didn't match the flight being the second time they confirmed the proper date then sent itinerary that was for a flight 30 days later so first time they basically told us get lost and we had to eat the cost of both flights. The second time they said they would take care of it. After an hour and a half on the phone with them trying to convince me to go to two other airports that would cost an additional 50$ in transit taking more than 5 hours to get to either of them they continued to keep me on hold telling me a number of times they have a flight.
I found a flight then they said they couldn't verify the purchase of the ticket so another top dollar ticket and another ticket we couldn't use. It was clear the plan was to keep me busy, tell there was no available flights so they could purchase the cheapest flight possible and when they couldn't they didn't make right. In fact their negligence cost me my job and I'm sure will soon cost my livelihood. Don't be a victim. This it is a repeated problem. If you have had an experience like this email ** and join our efforts to build a class action suit. They clearly have undesirable business practices.

A solid, no-frills site with cheap airfare. Make sure to pay attention to the booking info as some airlines charge for carry-on baggage. They were about as helpful as can be for a site that carried the cheapest airfare available, so don't expect much; but, they did their job competently and there were no issues with the actual tickets I bought.

Beware this provider. They do not tell you the real, actual complete price until after they require your credit card information. After booking a round trip flight with my wife, they informed that the one checked bag and one carry on bag would cost an extra $328. If I had known this I never would have booked the flight. Also they added a $60 admin fee that was never mentioned until after my credit card was charged.
Most airlines charge for baggage except for Southwest but they may not be available in your area and can be more expensive than your low cost carriers like Spirit or Frontier. The baggage tab is located directly beneath the flight options on the flight page to view prior to making a purchase, you can also check airline sites for baggage details as well. Our service fee is mentioned in our terms and conditions and is included in the total purchase price, and we do advise that you will be billed in multiple transactions.

I don't usually write a review, but this time I think it's worth mentioning. I had been CheapOair's customer since about 2010. I bought many tickets with them and everything was fine because I never needed help until recently. I booked 2 tickets to New Jersey for me and my husband in April 2019, but just one week before our departure, Wow Air went bankrupt and our flights were canceled. I contacted CheapOair customer service and they told me to contact the airline. I was confused coz I bought the tickets through their website and CheapOair processed my payment. I thought they would help me contact Wow Air and get some answer for me. So I contacted Wow Air and they said it would take 90 days. I wasn't pleased with customer service, but I didn't take it serious.
While waiting for the refund, I booked 2 new tickets to the same destination. 5 days before our departure, I got a reminder email from CheapOair. I went through the itinerary and found that my first name was on both of the tickets! (My husband's middle and last name were correct). I contacted CheapOair immediately. First customer service insisted there was nothing he could do. He said name change was not allowed in any case. He said it was my fault I put the wrong name at the time of the booking. I argue that I didn't type my own name twice. It doesn't make sense. In fact, I didn't even have to type anything. I bought tickets with them so often I only had to check the box to choose who's flying.
What strange is his middle and last name were correct (we have the same last time of course). I suggested that it might be malfunction of the website. The staff raised his voice and said "Do not find fault in the system!" and kept going on and on without listening to a word I said. I made a comment: " So you don't think there's a possibility there's an error on the system?" He said no, and insisted there's nothing he could do and suggested that I had to buy new tickets. I said you won't even try to contact the airline?. He raised his voice again and said the airline wouldn't allow the name correction. I was so furious. He kept telling me to buy new tickets instead of trying to help me.
I asked to speak to supervisor. He was polite and said he just spoke to the airline and airline said they don't allow correction. It was a lie! Because I sent a message to the airline's Facebook page and they said I just had to contact CheapOair and CheapOair can just contact their TA. I called Cheapoair back again, had to re-tell the whole story, mentioned the name of supervisor, got transferred to his desk, waited for a long time just to find out he's too busy and assigned other staff to handle my case. Guess what? I had to, of course, re-tell the story again from the beginning, got transferred to other representative. The last one was willing to help. He tried to call the airline and said it's not possible coz the airline was closed long time ago (so the supervisor just literally lied to me coz he said he contacted the airline!).
I was told to call back the next day when the airline office operates. And at 2:30 AM, I gave up. In the morning I decided to contact the airline directly one more time, I explained the situation and told the airline staff that CheapOair wouldn't help at all and our flight was in 4 days. Airline staff couldn't believe CheapOair didn't even put an effort to try to help so she went ahead and correct the name for a small fee. It was such a relief. At this point, I'm so disappointed in their customer service and I will never ever book anything with CheapOair again! I'll definitely take my business somewhere else!

Cheapoair offered a cheaper rate for travel with a return on May 15 instead of May 14. We offer the lowest options first, and if you are not flexible than you would need to move down the flight options to locate your dates that work for you. Once the flights are selected, we do not change your dates. So it is important to review the itinerary on the screen prior to hitting submit or notify us immediately after booking within 24 hours to inform us that there is something wrong with the reservation. Upon calling Cheapo-o they blamed the airline and said that the airlines policy states they cannot change the name on the ticket.
Upon calling Iceland air after, the rep told me that the reason they can't change is because CheapOair purchased the ticket and they have to be the one to make the change.... I recently purchased one way premium economy flights via CheapOair. The final price quoted and the invoiced amount turned out to be several hundred dollars more than the fare shown on their website so I requested a detailed invoice. It turns out there were two additional charges in addition to the advertised fare in the amounts of $21.90 and $180. The $21.90 was for Travel Assist which I did not request nor was even made aware of and a $180 agency fee. I spoke to them via Chat and had them remove the Travel Assist and fee.
The agency fee I reluctantly accepted since with it the fare was still considerably less than any comparable fare I had been able to find. While their website shows the option of Travel Assist I find it unscrupulous to automatically include it without making the customer aware. Likewise a hidden agency fee is deceptive at best and in my mind unethical. I have no objection to being charged a reasonable fee (although $180 is not reasonable) to provide a service but hiding such fees is no way to conduct a business. I for one will never book with them again.

When booking a series of flights + Hotel + car etc with CheapOair, BE AWARE that EACH ticket is separate in itself. Even though I was sent a single long invoice with all the separate flights, hotels etc of my trip. When my trip was canceled due to Hurricane Harvey, the total trip was not handled as a one booking but as many single units - each to be checked and double checked. It took quite a learning curve for me to manage - the end result of my bureaucratic seeming muddle, is very satisfactory. Lesson is, that CheapOair handles, and is good for simple single small steps - nothing multiple or complex.

The website for CheapOair will not allow you to check for available seat assignments before clicking on the "continue booking" spot. I did so only to find that none of the available seats were desirable. After exiting CheapOair I went elsewhere to find what I wanted. The next day I find that CheapOair had finalized the booking that I did not "Finally" authorize. I merely was moving as required toward the specific seating availability. Now CheapOair is charging me for the flights I did not agree to.

Just booked a flight on CheapOair for the first time, and immediately realized it was for the wrong destination. My fault for not confirming, but when I inputted a destination, the first two options were for something completely different. I did a search for a flight to Miami for the 11th of December, and the first option was for the 10th, the second for a flight to Orlando. Was a great price so booked the second one (used to flying to Orlando, didn't click in) and then realized my mistake.
Called them immediately and was able to cancel, but with a $100 fee. So they charged me for the full price for the flight when I booked it online, but that won't get credited for at least a week. They charge the $100 cancellation fee immediately as well on the phone instead of just reducing the credit by $100. I am sure they make a ton of money with this practice. So, yes, stupid of me to not catch my mistake, but bad on them for not making it much more obvious that these first two options are for something else; give me a big button that says "Alternate Options" instead of hiding it. I'm sure this is on purpose; a quick $100 for them. Just beware, that's all.

I am so unhappy. I called in the very next morning when the new charge from American Airlines hit my account. I recently had my first experience with Cheapoair. They do offer good deals on flights, and offer many airlines to choose from. I was initially satisfied when I booked my flight. However, 5-6 weeks before my travel date (California-Thailand), I was notified by text message there was an urgent matter and I had to contact a representative. I was told our outgoing flight was cancelled by the airline. I would think this should be an easy matter to resolve, as there were many other flights on different airlines the same day, I thought Cheapoair would let us select another. That's where the trouble began. Apparently, if a flight is cancelled, even that far in advance, Cheapoair will ONLY let you (for free) select another flight by the same airline.
In our case, I was told I had to wait 24-48 hours for a phone call (which never came) from Cheapoair after they tried to resolve the issue with the airline. After more than 48 hours I received an e-mail with an alternative flight, that was 12 hours later than our initial flight with a 7 hour layover (no thanks!). I called back, was on hold over an hour before being connected with a representative. I requested another flight, and was told we could take one that left the night before our initial travel date and I was satisfied with that. The rep told me in a day or two I would receive a new email with the new itinerary.
When that email did come, it was WITH THE FLIGHT THAT I DID NOT WANT WITH THE 7 HOUR LAYOVER. What ensued was numerous phone calls back to Cheapoair, talked to multiple people and finally, less than 30 days before my travel date I did receive the new itinerary which was correct. Will never use again, as they are not even that much cheaper than Orbitz or Expedia.

Not only had I spent an hour on the phone trying to get this flight booked but then I had spent yet another 1/2 hour in chat trying to resolve this problem which by the way is still not resolved.
As we all know that prices can change like the blink of an eye which I do understand but when they are telling you one thing and with your 2 own eyes are seeing something else it is VERY hard to have TRUST in a travel agency such as this one. I said I was going to call the airline directly to verify this and see if I had to do that and the representative said, "No - the airline can't help you with this, only we can!"
I took that as a sign and thankfully I did because the airline updated it so when TSA scanned our tickets, our middle names would pop up and we would be fine for FREE. I cancelled (30 min after booking, 2 months before travel). Cost? “Free cancellation in 24 hrs” claim, mind you, and minutes later, was $50, plus $31 to cancel the rental car! Very expensive fees for absolutely nothing. The phone reps are foreign-born, rude and difficult to understand. I felt so ripped off by CheapOAir that I decided to drive.

All their fees are hidden in small print and loopholes are used against you to make your ticket as expensive as all of the other places you could go... I was frustratedly trying to buy cheap international tickets, and impulse-bought (was cleverly manipulated by CheapOair to buy) tickets through them. But then I find out my seat selection costs something. And I can't figure out what my baggage fees are gonna be, I'm just told to "check with the airline." Cool. But I have 3 separate airlines to check with.
So I go looking for other information, and whaddaya know! The "seat selection" isn't even guaranteed, they "make a request" with the airline, but they're gonna charge you to make said request... And then I find out that the "free 24 hour cancellation" isn't actually free, it's just free from the airlines' perspective; you still have to pay $50 per passenger for domestic flights and $75 per person on international flights. I called them to cancel it, and after 10 minutes of being on hold, when I honestly tell them I'm utilizing their free cancellation because that I'm sketched out, they transfer me from cancelling my booking to customer service. 10 minutes later, no one is picking up, so I use the chat function from my confirmation email.
10 minutes of waiting for them to "find my details" I find out that the cancellation is not free. Another 10 minutes later they finally are "cancelling" my flight information, happily informing me a charge will still be made to my card for cancelling. Another 10 minutes later I finally get an email stating they are processing my cancellation. That email kindly stated, "Once you've completed your cancellation, you will be eligible for an estimated refund of USD 6680.92, subject to validation and approval from the airline(s). You will receive a confirmation of the final amount within 24 hours." So, crossing my fingers that the airlines don't hold me to some stupid thing.
It's my fault for not doing my due diligence when I saw the 20 minute countdown-timer on the booking. I'm the idiot. Don't be an idiot like me. If you're doing a quick little jaunt, maybe these guys are fine. My 3-airline, "super-cheap" ticket was gonna end up being as expensive as the rest of the tickets by the time CheapOair nickel-and-dimed me out of it. So. Yeah.

I bought two tickets, ONE RESERVATION and RESERVATION #, from CheapOAir, for a round trip flight from Minneapolis, MN, to Manila, Philippines, via a connecting flight in San Francisco, California. I was assured by CheapOAir customer service on the phone, prior to booking on line, that it's an "INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT" and the same luggage allowance for the international leg would be all the way through (Sun Country Airline from Minneapolis to and from San Francisco, and Philippine Airline from San Francisco to Manila and back). Philippine Airlines, for an international flight, is TWO 50 lb checked bags and one carry on bag.
I called Sun Country to VERIFY this was the case, and they said that since CheapOAir put it in as TWO SEPARATE tickets INSTEAD of a "inter-line connecting flight ticket", that I would have to pay for my luggage to and from Minneapolis to San Francisco and back -- same luggage allowance as Philippine Airlines -- will cost me an additional $360 for my wife and I for the round trip (two checked bags and one carry one at $30 each bag for each traveler -- for my wife and I, $180 from Minneapolis to San Francisco, and another $180 from San Francisco to Minneapolis) for a total of $360.
Now, I BOUGHT ONE TICKET -- went through CheapOAir because that's what they do -- they are internet travel agents and they mix and match flights to get you ONE TICKET -- ONE RESERVATION -- same as all my last flights over to Philippines. I would NEVER have bought this flight if I knew they were going to book it this way. I could have gone to the individual airlines and booked that way, but I didn't want the hassle dealing with all the details -- that's why we trust these "travel agents".
I am in the process of filing a grievance with CheapOAir, which will go to my state board that licenses travel agents, as well as a BBB complaint, IF CheapOAir doesn't make good on either paying my luggage fees -- OR -- changed the ticket to an "inter-line connecting flight" ticket (which if it's an INTERLINE CONNECTING FLIGHT, then Sun Country would honor the baggage policies of Philippine Airlines) and it would not cost me anything. DO YOUR RESEARCH -- RECORD ALL CALLS with the travel agent center -- and make sure you keep written records of your interactions -- VERY UNETHICAL, in my opinion!

CheapOair canceled a segment of our flight and never refunded our money nor provided adequate feedback on how to proceed forward to fair resolution (i.e. CheapOair credits). Instead, CheapOair demanded additional money be paid just to cancel our ticket to Santiago, Chile. I have spent over 7 hours waiting to speak to a supervisor which never returned our phone calls as promised. We called their customer service line call center numerous times but kept being put on hold for 45-90 minutes.
Ironically, they have their billing department (Keenan) call and request more money and when I ask to speak to a supervisor or the Customer Service Center to fix the canceled flight issue, I am again put on hold for approximately 45-90 minutes. How can we reschedule/refund a flight without the ability to discuss our case with the correct department (which does not return phone calls or pick up the phone)? Please have the appropriate CheapOair representative contact me at their earliest convenience.

The agent and I talked about flights on July 7. He and I both said July many times but the ticket was booked for June. I did not notice when the email came that the flight was JUN. I only registered the JU with my vision so clearly I should have noticed that the agent entered the wrong date. It is not totally the agent at fault as I should have noticed when he asked me to verify. A solution and time saving way to do this would be to allow the agent to use a chat window while on the phone. Then the customer can type the dates and their personal info without the long process of repeating every letter.

Paid for the tickets and the return flight on June 12th had been changed to June 11th. Called and they wanted an additional 150 dollars to change it back to the 12th which I didn't have available right on the spot. Was told literally an hour or less after the booking was made and paid for that there would be a $100 cancellation fee when the date for return flight wasn't right to begin with. Filed a complaint with my credit card company as well. 2 hours I spent making this reservation which was wrong and changed on their end. I booked a flight for my father through CheapOair back in January. His flight was for today. I wanted to confirm his flight yesterday so I visited the airline's website and put in the booking confirmation number but the flight information was not being found on the airline website so I called CheapOair to see what the issue was. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes a representative finally came on the line. I explained to him my issue and he told me that I had nothing to worry about, that he saw my booking and that it must be a glitch on the end of the airline. After, confirming the flight with CheapOair, I assumed that all was good. ALL WAS NOT GOOD. My 73 year old father traveled 3,500 miles on an 11 hour flight only to reach his first destination and be told that his next flight (the one booked through CheapOair) was CANCELLED.
The airline went on to tell him that CheapOair should have contacted him about the cancelled flight. NO ONE CONTACTED US! As a matter of fact CheapOair sent me an email 24 hours before, saying "Are you ready for your flight, you leave in one day!" When I called CheapOair to complain about this situation, the representative asked me if he can put me on hold for "2 minutes" while he tried to figure out how he can help. OVER AN HOUR LATER he still had not returned back to call, not even to tell me that he was still working on my claim. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I booked flights worth $2000 international flights through CheapOair and believe me it will be the last time. This corporation is absolutely incapable of providing timely communication regarding flight/schedule changes. In the last 2 weeks alone, I have had 3 major flight cancellations which I wasn't notified by CheapOair. Every single time I called them to verify changes and every single time I was on hold for over 1 hr and 30 mins... just on hold.
Mind you, I am a busy ER doc with no time in my day to call these agents and get them to their job of communicating with the airline for changes. They are not proactive in guaranteeing their paying customers flights in the setting of cancellations. They are notorious for making false promises about callbacks, or email notifications about changing. Do not believe that they can problem solve and only looking to get your money through booking. They don't even have enough people in their customer service department to handle concerns in a timely manner. With CheapOair you get what you pay for, cheap fake service and the expense of lost peace of mind.

Representative Ryan was very helpful in accommodating my change of flight request over the phone. I would advise a clear warning on "24 hour cancellation", it carries a $75 fee. I found a better price and flight schedule on Expedia ($696), right after completion of my online booking. I immediately contacted Online chat - it was slow and not helpful. CheapOair chat online Ayler cut me off when I requested canceling, next online chat Olive advised my requested departure flight change (same airline, same day, later time) would cost extra $477, or cancellation charge $75. I called the 800 #, and Ryan was able to make my flight change and get me a further $5 discount, I still paid $50 over Expedia's price and it took over 2 hours to resolve.
So, caveat emptor, making online bookings, check flights and offers thoroughly, among sites, the 24 hour cancellation is not free, be patient. I also object to the countdown clock on completing reservation, I do appreciate Ryan's assistance. He is the only reason for my good rating. Clarify your terms. These car companies don't care if customer's coming back, they only interested in ripping you off once since this is a tourist city. They added several extra charges upon pick up your cars. And since they had your non-refundable moneys you can take it or leave it. CheapOair also charges cancellation fees—even if you made the booking less than 24 hours ago—which is not only underhanded but illegal according to rules set by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Booked a roundtrip flight totaling $1,774.95. After booking, my debit card was charged double the amount and my account was overdrawn by almost $700! The 3 charges on my card were $897.03, $897.03, and $827.07. I called the company (took them an hour to respond) and the lady on the phone told me that the extra $897.03 was a "bank hold," something done to prevent fraud or something, and that it should be released in 3-5 days. That is absurd! Shady business practices used to milk the customer for every bogus charge they possibly can. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY TO MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS!
Very sorry for the inconvenience. It is correct, when paying by debit card, your bank will put a pre-authorization on your card when you first make a reservation just to make sure the money is there and put aside. When the tickets get issued, that is when the card actually gets charged, and can appear to have been charged twice. We explained this to the customer and she was upset, therefore the reservation has been canceled and she is being refunded in full. Unfortunately that is how it works when using bank debit cards, the only way to prevent that from happening is if a credit card is used.

Alekhya our apologies for the inconvenience. But the fare rules actually come from the airlines, so booking with us or them directly,it will be the same outcome. The airlines have non refundable policies on their fares, so canceling doesn't mean you will get a full refund. They charge an exchange fee just to be able to use the credit, and the cost of the new airfare difference is also applicable. I was obligated to submit a fraud claim against them because they took money out of my account after I explicitly requested that they were not allowed. They basically stole my money. Thank God for Wells Fargo helping me out with this claim. BEWARE of this company!!

It was an excellent experience with a positive economic outcome. I would recommend this service to friends. I confirmed the transaction with my credit card company and the airline agent, and everything was accurate.

I recently used www.Cheapoair.com for the first time to book a flight and had the worst experience. When you look at the flights, there isn't a way to expand the flight info and look at the connections at all. When I was booking this, it didn't dawn on me at all that I should be able to. The flight that I booked was leaving at 2:51 pm and arriving 10:46 pm SUNDAY. When I got my email I was shocked that I was actually arriving at my destination at 10pm Monday and the LAYOVER WAS 22 HOURS AND 23 MINUTES.
Don't you think that their website should be a little more forthcoming with ALL OF THE DETAILS? Or should I have to search their website from page to page for the connecting flight? Make sure the flights don't go from one day to next and on to the next? It just screams scam and anything to sell the crap flights. Oh and if you're a sucker and they get you, and you want to change the flights you better just hand them your wallet and go sit in the corner and cry.

Canceled a flight 30 min after booking. It only to get charged $75? (which I was OK with), promised a refund in 14 days, it's now been 23 and still nothing has been returned. Called customer service only to keep getting the runaround. Be aware.
Please supply us the booking number you were given so that your concerns can be researched. Thank you

It is all scam. I paid almost 2000$ for 4 flight airfare from this website. However, the flight was cancelled, and I asked for refund. They just only refunded the amount of the airfare but the agency fee is not refundable. They said that I am receiving their service so it is not refundable. I paid for receiving a dissatisfied service. Why do I have to put my risk to use their service in the future? Flight cancel is common and you will never know if your flight will cancel. This is a bad business and scam. It is a shame on this company. Don't take your risk to purchase airfare from this website.

When considering a Super Saver Fare, if you hover over the information icon it says: "Satisfaction Guarantee. If you're unsatisfied, call up to 4 hours after you book for a hassle-free refund". This gave me the comfort to move forward with making a Super Saver booking. I was on the phone with CheapOair customer support within about 10 minutes of receiving my booking confirmation to cancel what I thought was an undesirable itinerary.
The India-based customer rep did everything he could to stall cancellation. Looked for alternative fares and when finally pressed to cancel said there was a $50/ticket cancellation charge. I protested this for a while and then he finally said he had to "check with the airline". Was on hold for a bit. Came back saying the cancellation could be reduced to $20/ticket. I told him I would call the airline directly and when pressed to clarify who was charging the cancellation fee he admitted it was CheapOair and not the airline. I called him out on his deception. Asked for the his information and the address of his office in New Delhi. He finally agreed to process a full refund.
I received a confirmation e-mail of the refund. You'd think that was the end, but it wasn't! Received a phone call a few minutes after hanging up only to be told by the same rep that he had to transfer me to a senior manager within the cancellation department to complete the cancellation. I spent another 15 minutes on the phone with this person (mostly on hold) and he confirmed the cancellation was done. I received an updated cancellation e-mail confirmation that SURPRISE SURPRISE had deducted $60 ($20 x 3 tickets) from the new final refunded amount. When I explained this to the rep he kept asking me to recheck the e-mails received and tried to give me the run around as I if I was the one confused.
Finally, the rep sent me another e-mail from his work address (...@ukr.fareportal.com) stating: ---------- CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION. We've received your cancellation request for booking (#....). Your cancellation is COMPLETE. By airline policy your ticket is refundable. Ticket amount is $X. Should you need any further clarifications/assistance, please feel free to contact us. ----------
Notice the wrinkle? It doesn't state the refundable amount like the earlier e-mails that showed the wrong amount. It instead slyly states that the ticket is refundable and the original ticket amount. After I described the issue to the rep and requested another e-mail he hung up on me! The audacity of these people; imagine how routine it must be for them to try to deceive customers like this day in and day out. CheapOair is not a business worth supporting. I encourage you to spend your travel dollars elsewhere.

In good faith I purchased insurance for this flight. The airport in Killeen-Ft. Hood has no signage for the airport. I left my home at 1 am to catch a 5:40 am flight out. No signage whatsoever did I see. I ended up on Ft. Hood Army Base. Needless to say, I was escorted off rather quickly. I found that accidentally as well. So being it was about 5:20 am I knew I was not going to be able to find the airport in time for the flight. I decided to head back home, guess what? I found the airport in time to see my flight take off.
Again, no signage! If you do not die, or in a hospital you will not get your money back. Only a 2 hour drive around Killeen to find IH-35 and head home. I drive a Kia, and let me tell you $40.00 later in gas, I got home. So this absence of signage for the airport has cost me $480.00 for flight, another 136.00 in hotel fees, non-refundable of course. $40.00 for gas. Insurance companies do not like to give up your money. They take it fast enough, but don't expect it back due to unforeseen circumstances. I will never do business with this company again or for that matter United Airlines.

So my sister recently purchased 2 tickets for my mom and her to Vietnam to visit our grandma at cheapoair.com for $1,331.66 to visit. The ticket was for May 20th. Due to my grandma's poor health, she passed away on March 27th. My sister called CheapOair to change the date for the ticket. Instead of showing compassion and work with my sister, the representative told her she would be charged an additional $1,925. The representative refused to work with my sister. Needless to say my sister missed my grandma's funeral. All we asked was for some compassion and fairness.

I am literally on the phone with them for the 7th hour in a row. I wanted to book a ticket ONLINE but one of their agents said I MUST book with her on the phone so I ended up doing so. I had found a ticket for $730 CAD and told her that is what I want so she "Booked" it for that amount and airline. Cool. I get the booking receipt and noticed she put $730 USD???? So I called immediately to get this corrected and somehow no one could explain the extra charge???? And also refused to refund me or cancel the card???? So yes I am reporting them as fraudsters to my bank as they surely are.

The person who helped me (I believe his name was Eroll?) with getting my flights to fit my travel needs was extremely patient, knowledgeable and so very kind and thoughtful. What started out as a frustrating event, ended well with me being able to make the trip to visit my son before he heads out of the country for two months to do humanatarian work.
