Updated on 05/23/2020: I might sound like a Karen but this has been frustrating. We purchased airline tickets for a once in a lifetime family trip to the Azores in February 2019. With concerns over COVID-19, I simply wanted to ask a few questions and decide whether or not we would travel. Well trying to contact them consists of either waiting on hold for an hour and being disconnected or sitting on the virtual chat for 3-5 hours. Yes, literally all afternoon my wife and I swapped off waiting for the virtual chat to count down our Queue. Now the virtual chat has changed so that no human is available for chat.
In the mean time, the airline changed the itinerary by 3 full days which is cause for cancellation and a full refund. To get the full refund, however, has been like jumping through hoops. Minimal customer service. Customer service reps yelling at me not to contact them unless the trip is within 72 hours. I only was contacted by someone from CheapOair after I filed a BBB complaint. But if I miss their phone call, the return number disconnects. Fast forward to now, it appears as though they are refunding the tickets but NOT the $614.55 insurance nor the $152.55 "traveler assist". Long story short, I would not do business with cheap o air ever again.
Original: We booked our once in a lifetime trip for August 2020 back in January and purchased the optional travel protection. Now that the pandemic has hit hard, we are in the same boat as many others and we do not wish to fly at this time. I can't simply accept a credit for the next calendar year because we may not all be able to get the time off together by then. Calling Cheap O Air I was stuck on hold several times before being disconnected. Using the online customer service tool, we spent 3.5 hours waiting in Queue just to be told they can't help us. Now that we are 3 months away, they are offering to cancel with a $75 cancellation fee per ticket - $675 total ! And TripMate (optional protection package) does not cover pandemics. Online forums indicate many airlines are offering full refunds, hassle free. Air New Zealand, Delta, Air Canada, Southwest, etc. I don't think I will use Cheap O Air ever again.

I started with the Virtual Chat & was transferred to a live agent Tisha, whose service went beyond my expectations. There was a glitch in her computer system, & I had to log in again, and got another agent. Tisha called me and I got to work with her which was wonderful. She made suggestions respectfully. I will recommend Cheapoair - despite your name your service is very good. Keep it up.

I booked 3 round trip tickets for my mother, my friend, and myself for my son's graduation back in December. I was also suggested to purchase travel protection plans for all 3 of us since the flights were all in May. Things happen... As we all dealing with pandemic, of course my son's graduation had been canceled, state-wide stay-at-home in order in both US and Japan. So I requested cancelation of all 3 round trip tickets. Unfortunately Cheapoair, yes, they stated they are keeping all the service fees....and I was also charged extra $70/ passenger as cancelation fee..
I questioned them then what were the benefits of Travel Protection Plan I purchased, then they told me that so I was able to get refund for the 100% of airfare portion.... Everyone is basically getting 100% refund from airline companies right now! I ended up losing $900 in fees total... I will never use Cheapoair ever again. I will book my flight directly with the airlines even though it may be more... I learned my lesson that I will lose more to save a little bit.

We booked a flight on 12Nov19 for Italy 15Sep20 to 29Sep20 via Cheapoair and received an email that the flights were cancelled on 25Apr20 by the airline stating that the airline has no alternate flights available, so they must cancel and refund the tickets. I went to the Cheapoair website as guided by them and canceled the entire reservations of flights and requested a refund. I did not get a refund for the flights but now have 'CREDIT" with Cheapoair but the amount of credit is not known since they do not show that on the website.
You cannot call Cheapoair, they state they are unable to take calls. Per the last email I received it states the following information about the credit I will get from them with ADDITIONAL FEES. IT IS REALLY UPSETTING WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH CREDIT YOU HAVE. We also did not cancel the trip - the Airlines did. Why do we have to pay for additional fees. We just want a refund - how do they know this is not going to happen again - personally I don't want to fly anywhere. The following terms will apply to your credit and to your use of it:
· This credit is non-transferable and non-refundable.· May only be used by the person(s) named on the original ticket for which it is being issued, regardless of who purchased the ticket(s).
· When re-booking a trip with your credit, you understand that you must pay our re-booking service fee per person, any applicable airline change fee, and any difference in airfare.
· Any and all changes are subject to availability and to the airline's rules.
· Please contact us directly to book a flight with your credit. The airlines may be unable to process it.
· Fee Reminder - all applicable fees will be charged to your credit card on file as disclosed on the cancellation change form and our Terms and Conditions.

I received an unexpected call today from Cheapoair in response to my prior one-star review. Because they resolved my problem, I am changing my review from 1-star to 4-star. I was not going to do business with them again, but now I will. I'm glad that they cared enough to resolve my concern.

I'm incredibly frustrated that I purchased the travel insurance that Cheapoair offered, then they denied my claim. I bought the insurance before the Coronavirus went wild. My event that I was traveling to was cancelled and I filled out a long form to process my claim. About a month later I got a letter in the mail that my claim was denied. Page 12 of the terms and conditions state that Travel Insurance means coverage for "interruption or cancellation of a trip or event". While on the phone, I was told the underwriters meant for this to happen while I was on the trip, not beforehand. This is **. The least they could do is reimburse me for the insurance. At least the airline (Spirit) gave me a flight credit for a year.

I am very unsatisfied with CheapOAir.. We a family of 5 booked a flight for $2,900 and only got a credit for $2,300. This is ridiculous as the reason I had to cancel was because they were sending us to a completely different country. (NOT OUR FAULT) NOW.. they don't even answer the phone..

Times are crazy with this virus floating around and all through it the CheapOair team has done a fantastic job! I'll start with my only complaint to move onto and end with good stuff. My main complaint is that rebooking during the pandemic still cost me a few hundred dollars - I don't feel it's fair to be penalized when you are unable to fly or rent a car due to a pandemic. Otherwise, the team has been patient and understanding. I've gotten all the help I needed and wait times haven't been very long overall. The price is good, right? Can save a bit and take your family on a trip for less $$, right? Not if you have any changes in your itinerary (even on the airlines part). Booked February 21. April 5 and April 8: We received 2 emails saying there was a change to our itinerary and asking us to watch email and respond in 72 hours. No more details. No more emails. Ever.
April 6 & 9 & other days: Tried calling customer service to see what was going on and the number redirected to a recording saying they aren’t taking calls and to fill out a form on their website. Tried calling for a few days; always the same recording. Still no idea what was happening on the flight we paid a couple grand on. April 6 & 9: Finally, we filled out the form (twice, in 2 different locations) and were told very specifically not to block a certain number and to watch for a call from that number by... “We estimate that we can process your request by 15 day(s) from day of request.”
April 9 & 18: No call came. Instead we got a very generic email with all the potential options of what could happen. Tried calling customer service again, got the same recording saying they aren’t answering calls. April 10: We see a charge on our cards for an additional $175! No notification and we had no idea what it is for. Still can’t reach customer service.
April 28: 2 weeks before our initial trip, we go back to see if this flight is still scheduled or not. Log in to our account, no flights are listed. Try calling again and it finally seems like someone will answer... but only after waiting on hold for 30 minutes while being told the whole time that a “customer service specialist will be with you shortly”.???
Finally they tell me that the flight was cancelled and I was scheduled for a refund, but the $175 is their fees for cancelling and issuing a refund. And now it will take 4-8 more weeks to get my refund because it hadn’t even been issued yet. So they got their fees almost 3 WEEKS AGO and hadn’t even started the process of getting me my money back (for a flight that was initially cancelled by the airline and not by me).
When I got the email about the cancellation, I finally got the notice about being charged the $175 and that the refund would still have additional fees and service charges taken out. Ugh! Such a pain in the butt! So if you want to take the chance that everything will go well, then it’s worth booking with CheapOAir, but honestly, save yourself the headache and just spend the extra $100-200 to book anywhere else! Cuz you’ll probably lose that money anyway.

They quickly got back to me and had a person that was helpful in resolving the issue. I was told I should've immediately got back a refund of the $210 but due to COVID there was just so much delay. Regardless, I look forward to seeing the refund ($210) in a few business days.

Booking# **. I had cancelled my flight due to covid. The online process, I thought, was fairly easy. I filled out all that is required and I chose the refund option which charged me $210 (3 tickets x $70). I was fine with it as long as I get the full refund back. However, they sent me an email saying I could only qualify for a travel fund. Furthermore, they charged me $105 (3 tickets x $35) to convert it to a travel fund. I've been trying to figure out a way to contact them to request for the $210 that they charge my credit card back since I received NO REFUND! But so far, no luck and I don't understand why I was charged for a refund AND a travel credit.

I bought 2 tickets for Italy on Nov 29, 2019 for an April 3, 2020 departure. I started to try to correspond with CheapOair via email and phone calls on February after Italy has issued a lockdown. I have gone through their website help page regarding requests for flight cancellations/inquiry, per Cheapoair instruction. Numerous service ticket numbers were auto-generated and have been emailed to me advising me to await a response from them. To this day, April 25, all I get are auto-generated emails with the same message, no update nor details whatsoever!
Calls are even more terrible - We have attempted more than a dozen times and have to wait countless hours on each of them. My longest wait was close to 4 hours but was cut off after becoming 3rd on the line (from being caller 190++). On the couple of times we got through to somebody, we were put on hold but then was inexplicably get dropped out. On the other few times we got through, the agents were at a loss as to how to proceed with my ticket’s refund that has since been credited back to them by American Airlines on April 3!
Also, Cheapoair paid American Airlines by check for my ticket whereas my wife’s was charged directly to my credit card. At first I could not understand why but after digging further, I found the reason: During the booking process online, my name did not correctly reflect on their system. I vehemently challenged that the error was on my part but I gave Cheapoair the benefit of the doubt and consequently had them charge me $260 to proceed with the name correction. I found out later that American Airlines actually charged only $60 for the name correction! That means $200 went to Cheapoair! Now, I am deeply suspicious that I really made that mistake given the unreliability of their website which still show to this day that my booking is still “active” and that none of the agents can’t seem to find any details regarding my refund.
On other places on their website, my booking still show as “non-refundable”! This confirms my suspicion that their system is deficient and it may have caused the error. I can only hope that the error was not deliberate. Maybe it should be checked by authorities on how frequent chargeable “errors” or “changes“ occur in Cheapoair bookings. The latest email I got, on April 25, is one that has “refund complete” placed on the subject line but again no details are found on the body! Needless to say, nothing has reflected on my Bank account. I actually only ask for any status update on my refund and not demand to expedite the process. Their dismissal of my voluminous inquiries forced me to write this review with the hope that they will finally reach out.
This has been resolved with the customer.

This is the worst flight booking site you could ever use, and I will passionately recommend anyone against ever using them again. I used CheapOair to book a flight home to Canada from Bali, on April 14th, 2020, with Philippine Airlines. Due to the pandemic, my flight was cancelled. After several unsuccessful attempts at contacting cheapoair via phone and email, I directly contacted Philippine airlines. They at first told me that I needed to go through cheapoair, but when I said I had attempted to do so many times, they told me that I was eligible for a refund (not just credit), since my flight was cancelled, and that I needed to request a refund from cheapoair prior to the middle of May, in order to receive it. The agent told me that they sent a document to Cheapoair outlining this policy.
Ok great, I am relieved. I went on to cheapoair website and requested a refund that day. I later received an email from Cheapoair stating that my requested cancellation had been received. I did not request a cancellation. My flight had already been cancelled, and I was requesting the refund that I was eligible for, as per the airlines instructions. I imagine that they will try and use this technicality to prevent issuing me a refund. Anyways, it has been three weeks, with absolutely no response via phone or email from the company. However, I see that they have responded on here several times recently to upset customers, so I figure the only way to receive a response may be when you publically discuss how horrendous their customer service is.

Was given a Name, email and phone number to get in touch for communicating which is really appreciative and a POSITIVE STEP towards resolution of the matter... Updated on 05/22/2020: Posting this in order to follow up on the status as I was assured that my refund will be processed as soon as the airline is contacted or reverts back to Cheapoair. I understand it would take some time but 2 and a half month is something that I am amazed with that after pulling off the review I posted last month I still am waiting for some concrete action on my Refund as now I am paying the interest on the cost every passing day for the $5600 I paid for 5 tickets.
I am still receiving this message from Cheapoair: "This is to inform you that we are still working with airline, regarding the refund of your reservation. The response from the airline is awaited. Please wait for some time. We will get back to you as soon as we get any revert from airline. The corona virus has lower the efficiency of many airlines, and those request must be approved by the airline, so the handle period may be a little longer then usual. "
Has Cheapoair not been able to reach Emirates for past 2 months? Wait some time? What does it mean how much time it's been 2 months? Am I the only one going through this? As mentioned I am paying interest on this amount now? Cheapoair team thanks for calling back and talking to me but please do not ask me to remove the review until this is resolved as I know other cases have been refunded by Emirates within weeks and I have been waiting for months now???
Original Review: Booked 5 Passenger tickets for Emirates... Flights were cancelled due to COVID in MARCH... Have been following up with CheapO air since then. Received a phone call and an email initially where they said will be processed in 7 to 14 days... It's been more than a month and received an email saying, "We will not be able to respond before May 2020???" Also received an email saying: They will NOT BE issuing a REFUND which was confirmed earlier already even by Emirates. We have to Re-Book for dates of travel before December 2020?? How is that even possible with the current situation where we are not even sure we would travel again this year.
In addition there will be additional rebooking fees whereas the flights have been cancelled and due to no fault of ours, where rules clearly are against it. And lastly have been sending an email daily with no response or phonecall from cheapoair with any info on what is happening with our REFUND STATUS. We have been loyal customers in the past but this response in time of need is really pushing us to change our mind and spread the word, if we are left without communication with our money being stuck and no option to get any status of it. Thanks Aly D.

We booked travel back in November 2019 for our trip to Germany prior to the pandemic. Due to the increasing spread, we unfortunately cannot leave the US for recreational travel. We submitted a request via the CheapOAir website and received a call a few days later. The agent we spoke with told us the flights had not been cancelled and that we would have to cancel the flight if we wanted to start the refund process. She also apologized for the fear we have of travelling, which we had to clarify that we had no fear, it was simply that the US was not allowing us to travel and we did NOT wish or want to cancel this trip but wanted a refund. She told us that they were not issuing refunds for our specific airline and that we would have to receive credit.
She then cancelled our trip and did not mention the extra $70 fee that we would be charged and issued us a credit only to be used on CheapOAir website for Air New Zealand by 12/2/19. THE DATE IS EVEN WRONG ON OUR VOUCHER. We have been trying to get in contact with CheapOAir and have been given the runaround: voicemails and hours on hold only to be dropped calls.
To double check, we reached out to the airline directly and were informed that that specific flight has already been cancelled for a month where all flights into the UK (our layover) had been suspended until further notice and that CheapOAir had in fact lied to us. The airline also mentioned that they were issuing refunds to customers due to the pandemic.
We are at our wit's end, and are super frustrated about the process and deceit we have experienced. The sad part in all this, is that we are loyal customers of CheapOAir and have been using them for years and recommend them often to friends who travel. We also purchased the travel insurance to which we were told this does not apply. We just want our money back so we can use it to travel again next year!

Several days and endless attempts to reach by email, chat, phone and even trying to email executives directly have gone ignored except generic, irrelevant auto messages. In the amidst of the pandemic situation with Coronavirus, where my itinerary was one of the cancelled flights, CheapOair sent me an email that is difficult to process, which I tried but was not responded to timely. I spent long hours waiting on customer service phone calls for days. I did not receive any assistance. So I negotiated directly with the airline involved and alas, I was assisted properly, rescheduled without due charges. I would commend GOD JOB KOREAN AIRLINES.
After all my effort, CheapOair comes in again with an email that I need to cancel or rebook my previous flight, what the **. I already did with Korean Airlines! I did not bother responding, yet they charged me a cancellation fee that I did not process with them. It was directly the airline who cancelled and helped me reschedule. I've reported CheapOAir to the Department of Transportation for their complete disregard of the Air Travel Guidelines to provide refunds to customers impacted by Covid-19 cancellations. I was booked to go from SLC to ZQN (Utah to Queenstown, NZ) on 3/25/20 with a return date of 4/7/20. The airlines canceled all but one flight (SLC to SFO) the day before my trip due to border closures. I had zero control over this. I have now reached out to CheapOAir a total of 10 times and the individual airlines as well. CheapOAir claims it is entirely in the airlines discretion to provide refunds but BOTH Hawaiian Airlines AND New Zealand Air have told me they don't get PAID from CheapoAir until the passenger takes the flight.
They have taken $1200 of my hard-earned dollars during a time of economic crisis to line their pockets and CONTINUE to blame it on the airlines who haven't been paid from CheapoAir. I am still demanding a refund and CheapoAir has now refused to speak to me. I will continue filing complaints here: ** until I receive a refund. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

I am extremely appalled by the way CheapOair has handled the pandemic situation. There is no direct phone line and they are charging more money to cancel. They make you accept the terms for a cancellation, although they say in their terms that if you don't cancel before your travel date you won't receive anything back and it was like your ticket never existed. So you either have to accept more charges and wait to only get a credit or you lose your ticket entirely!! This is ridiculous. Do not book through cheapoair.
This has been resolved, airline agreed to refund of all fees.

I booked a flight last year to visit my daughter for the first time, the flight was to be on 4/29/2020. Since then CheapOair has changed my flight 5 l times, I accepted 2 of them only. The time was changed only. Not a big big deal. However after this Covid-19 started the Mayor stated a lockdown in my State. CheapOair sent me an email stating another change. I declined and told them I want a refund under the Covid-19 ACT. As per the President and officials stated the airlines and businesses are getting paid so they must do the right thing and REFUND all passengers not a VOUCHER.
Anyway I contacted this company 4 times so far and not one response yet. Till today the email states I have 3 hours to accept this offer which is to accept a date of next year of this same time, I did not agree to this. In fact I contacted then again and still awaiting a response. Then I was ILLEGALLY charged a cancellation fee which I never agreed on. I never signed a contract. CheapOair voided any contract if there was any by pushing my flight more than 2 times without my permission then charging my credit card not even providing any statement to me or explanation. I find this company in VIOLATION and think a CLASS ACTION is in order.
Still waiting for a response. You cant force me to change my flight to a new date and time without my permission and you sure cant charge my account a cancellation fee due to Covid-19 under the new COVID-19 ACT. CheapOair you need to follow directions of the government and adhere to them. You are just a travel agency and a bad one at that, I will also make a case against you if you seek any government funding under the SBL act. You know very well what I am referring to and know you are ripping off thousands of people. SHAME ON YOU. NOTE: If you were even giving vouchers to customers even though you are supposed to supply full refunds where is our proof as a customer. How can we prove we have a voucher. I've used CheapOair for several flights now and my last experience with them has by far been disappointing. I booked a flight with them for WestJet airlines and I was set to head home on March 23. WestJet announced they would cancel all flights due to the pandemic beginning March 22. I quickly booked a different flight and contacted WestJet airlines, who said they would normally issue a refund but they could not because I used an agent, and they asked me to deal directly with CheapOair. CheapOair's phone line was not working due to the number of calls, and I had no way to contact them other than filling out a refund form. This wasn't ideal but understandable given the situation.
I filled out the form and waited over 2 weeks with no response at all. I finally visited the website and used a self service which indicated a very vague response about the cancellation going through and future credits will be enabled; I was annoyed they did not email and they waited for me to search the site for some self-service page that barely explained or answered my questions. I tried to contact customer support directly for help. The person I spoke to over a chatbox was confusing throughout the conversation, and it was frustrating getting her to elaborate.
She finally explained that I would receive credits towards a future flight, provided that A) the flight is identical to the one I took (same location, airline, passengers, etc), B) I take it by January 2021, which means I have less than a year before these credits expire, C) I pay 32 dollars, and this money would not be deducted from the credit but I would need to pay it separately by providing my card information - over the chatbox of all places. Understandably, I was not comfortable sending my card information this way and I was also quite angry that they were giving me credits with a charge and a whole lot of restrictions on how I could use said credits. At one point, the person I spoke to even suggested that I could not get a refund because I was considered a "No-Show". The flight was cancelled BY the airline! How could I be a No-Show at a flight that never took place?
Any time I pushed as to why I could not receive a refund, the person I spoke to never elaborated and simply gave vague excuses like they could not issue refunds due to "airline policies". Well, I didn't want to give them even more of my money just so they could give me credits towards a future flight and with credits heavily restricted in how I could use them. I am highly disappointed and I wish that they handled this situation more professionally, especially because I only used them to book flights in the past and now I will not be booking with them. I think it may be best to just book directly with the airline and know that you will be treated with better customer service.

I purchased a flight on Air France for April 20th from Paris to Genoa, Italy for 6 people. Due to the pandemic, my flight was canceled. I have spent hours on hold trying to get a refund. I spoke with Air France a couple weeks ago and was told I could get a refund through CheapOAir since that is where I purchased the tickets. After many more hours of trying to reach them and being put on hold, I was told that was not true by CheapOAir staff and that my only alternative was a credit from AirFrance (and for half the value of what I paid due to all CheapOAir fees). This was after I was told I had to cancel the flight on their website in order to ask for a refund (even though my flight was already canceled by Air France). So I did what they told me to and canceled my booking only to be told again that I couldn't get a refund because Air France would only issue credits.
They then charged my an additional $210 for canceling my booking!!! Now I see that they are going to refund the $210 but that is all they are going to refund. I have tried to call them again several times but now they don't even answer any calls! I am beyond frustrated, especially since I found out (on Air France's website) that any Air France ticket purchased in the United States can get a refund from the place in the US that it was purchased. I want a refund, not a credit! This was to have been a trip of a lifetime and it is all ruined now. In addition, my husband has been laid off and we definitely need the refund. Thank God for American Airlines! For their part of the trip, they refunded our tickets immediately. CheapOAir has been terrible to deal with and it still isn't resolved. I hope someone can help with this whole mess.

We had to cancel our air travel due to Covid19. I was NOT able to reach anyone on the phone and had no other choice but to use their online cancelation form. CheapOair charged us $175 for cancelling the flights even though the airlines were not charging. So here is an update from my initial complaint on 4/9/2020, I was contacted today 4/13/2020 by a Supervisor named Gwin, he asked me why I posted my review and I explained to him that I would much rather go back home to Jamaica, whose borders are closed and are on a 3pm to 7am house curfew everyday until April 28th, and be with my husband after not seeing him for a year, which would be our 1 year wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday than have to cancel. However, it is not kind for a company to keep all of our money when it is NO FAULT of ours that we can't travel, especially when their borders are closed internationally. Other Jamaicans can't even get back in that are in the United States now. I told him to please look when I booked my trip which was 2/25/2020 way before the Government told us about this COVID 19 and had also been on other trips before that.

So after receiving an email that my travel arrangements have been changed, I tried to contact these "People" and with several attempts of calls, emails, 51 per wait in chat, NOTHING. Finally, they post something on there that they will call you back so I hit that up 15 times to ensure I would but, even more pissed off every time that I am having to go through this just to get in contact with someone.
Anyways, they took 80.00 more dollars from me right away to cancel hotel and flight however, both are in a destination that has CLOSED its BORDERS, I'm from Jamaica, trying to get home to see my husband, so after spending $483.00 for original booking plus their $80.00 fee to cancel for a total of $561.00 dollars, I actually only get back the money from the hotel $221.62, none of the fees they charge to book it.
Because this COVID 19 is no fault of our own they need & should refund every dime that we spent booking with them and because they are not is flat out disgusting!!!! Quick to take your money but, telling me it's going to take 14 days to get my little 221.00 back from the hotel, crazy mess!!! And ridiculous.... When I was finally able to get through to Abraham (with his kids screaming in the background) with Cheapoair he tried to tell me to rebook for December 2020 it was going to be an additional $2,000 stating tickets are more during this time because of Christmas. I told him that is not possible. I had the Hawaiian airline and cheapoair site up and traveling during December was actually cheaper than what we originally paid for our tickets.
He insisted I would have to pay an additional $2,000 on top of our credit. I was so frustrated not only dealing with having to cancel my wedding but now having someone try and steal my money during a hard time. I called Hawaiian airlines. I contacted CheapOAir and even though I had travel insurance, with the new date was less expensive and is exempt from tax by American Airlines, CheapOAir decided to charge us about US$300 to reschedule the tickets. That is it. In the middle of the greatest pandemic of our generation, with all companies exempting us from fees, CheapOAir tries to profit in the midst of our despair, even if you have travel insurance. When I asked why they are trying to profit from a pandemic instead of just rescheduling a trip that already was exempt by American Airlines and paid (more expensive) for me, they just hung up on me. THIEVES...I booked a roundtrip ticket through CheapOair, and due to Covid-19, my flight was cancelled. They've refunded less than 1/3 of my money and keep trying to offer useless travel credit for a cancelled flight. I've now spent over 5 hours on the phone, 3.5 hours on an online chat, days waiting on promised callbacks that never came, and reached out via Instagram/Twitter to get my refund. Despite US government regulations that all passengers that request refunds for cancelled flights be given refunds, CheapOair continues to deny me a refund. I have used this company for about 8 years now but will NEVER use them again and strongly recommend that everyone avoid them.
Funny thing is, my friend (who is on the same flight, same price, booked at the same time through CheapOair) was able to get a refund yesterday. However, today they tell me it is impossible and I should just accept a credit, which is clearly illegal. Maybe just refer me to whatever magical agent processed her refund and I could be done with this utter incompetence.
CheapOair is taking advantage of people struggling due to Covid-19 and is trying to deflect responsibility by hanging up on paying customers and flat out refusing help. All I want is my refund but they continue to refuse me (and others) even with a cancelled flight. No thanks, CheapOair! Your agent wrote “I will not let you lose your money,” so you better make good on your promise or this matter will be escalated to credit card chargebacks, a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and a report to the US Department of Transportation, which promises to prosecute companies failing to give out refunds. Our flights were disrupted by the Corona virus outbreak. We originally booked our flights with CheapOair on the 4th January and when we realized we would have to change the dates of our flights or cancel. We contacted them to change our flights. We requested that the amount be credited to our account because we did not know when the pandemic would pass. Although the information given on the airlines website said we could do this we were not given this option by Cheapoair even though we requested it. In the end we had to rebook our flights for an arbitrary date not knowing when the pandemic pass.
We choose the 14th April and a day later we were informed that the Colombian government had closed all international flights into and out off Colombia for a month and we could not fly out on the 14th. I was also informed by the call centre operative that the difference in flight costs was 500 CAD which I had to pay. However the charge on the booking confirmation states the costs were Exchange Charges and Fees which included but was not exclusively difference in the cost of flights.
After the flight ban in Colombia came into force we were sent a schedule change notification by Cheapoair and then later another email where they asked us to send in our flight cancellation request (even though all flights were cancelled by the airplane companies after the flight ban). Cheapoair then charged us $200 CAD for the flight cancellation request that we had to fill out in order to get a refund or credit. So far we have been charge $700 CAD by Cheapoair for flights that we have not been able to use and that originally cost us 2197 CAD. It is very likely if we do not receive a refund for the cost of the flights we will not be able to use the flight credits in the time required by the airline and are unlikely to fly with Avianca Air in the near future. All in all we have had a very bad experience with Cheapoair and I would not recommend them to another traveler.

Entire coronavirus response is a disaster. I waited to cancel my car booking because their website requested you only call if within 72 hours of travel. So I waited, and then they updated their page to say they were no longer taking calls. I then tried to cancel a car booking by submitting a form on their coronavirus page. They left me a voicemail and an email and directed me to contact them by phone - that call was met with an automated "We're not monitoring the phones." I tried to respond to their email and got a "We're not monitoring emails." Everything directs to their coronavirus page, which only addresses flights - not cars or anything else they offer!
I get that it's a tough time for the industry, but I have had to work with several different travel companies to cancel bookings in the last few weeks and CheapOair has been by far the worst. There's no reason why they shouldn't have employees monitoring emails and calls, unless they're on their way to bankruptcy and pocketing every $ they can along the way. (Which I'm guessing they are.)

I make a call to talk to a representative and what happens? I get hung up on when the call is connected. I send an email out to ask questions regarding refunds, get a return email saying they are not accepting emails at this time. Signed up for ticket insurance to cover this trip, does it work in any way to assist a refund? No way.
This company is a disgrace. Because of their inability to offer any sort of refund, or basic customer support, I will never utilize this company ever again. PLEASE do not use this company as a source travel plans. I will say this, if there is ever a class action lawsuit against them, I will for sure be a part of it. Use anyone else BUT CheapOair.
Original Review: The epidemic has made travel very difficult, and the trip I had planned out (tickets purchased in January mind you) is no longer a viable option. They wouldn't refund my ticket purchase even though I had "insurance". I will never, ever use this site again for tickets or travel plans. If I could rate this experience into the negatives, I would. PLEASE do not use this company if you have any value for the money you work very hard for. I never go out of my way to write in complaints like this, but after the garbage I was just fed after dealing with one of their associates, I feel this is justified. Save your money, go elsewhere for your travel needs.

Original Review: I booked my ticket at CheapOair in January... After some day I need to cancel the ticket because of covid-19 pandemic... The airlines agreed to give me full return but I needed to inform CheapOair for it.. and that I did. CheapOair promise me to credit the amount within 20-25 days.... And now I'm here waiting for more than 2 months. Still money is not credited back.... and when I try calling or mail them for the same they respond after 10 day.... Really bad website to make booking.... I won't suggest anyone for this website.... During this review I still asking for the refund but still they are not responding.
The refund was processed on Mar 20 and we have forwarded an email advising that it takes 1-2 billing cycles. Due to the over whelming refund requests the airlines are experiencing, it is taking longer than usual. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Like so many Americans, we were forced to postpone travel due to being high risk for the pandemic. CheapOair charged us $35 per ticket to take this action. We didn't ask for a refund...just to be able to travel after this crisis has abated. They helped themselves to $70 to oblige. Shame on CheapOair!!! Perhaps they need to be a corporate victim of this economic downturn.

I had a flight, hotel, and car booked through Cheapo Air. My flight was scheduled for April 2nd. I began trying to change the flight the 2nd week of March. I've used them before and not had trouble. But with the COVID-19 issue, I tried for days and days to get through and change my flight. Finally they offered a quick way through their website to ask for cancellation or future reschedule of flight etc., so I asked for a later flight. They outright cancelled my flight, which I did not want, and then kept the money. When I tried to go through their service to at least try and preserve the car and hotel, there was no way to contact them and explain the problem or request reschedulement. I had booked the flight in November of 2019, so it was of long standing. I got ripped off for the entire amount! I will never use them again.
Pam, you have a future credit towards rebooking, you haven't lost the money. Once you contact us to rebook, just provide the 8 digit booking number all the credit is pending in that reservation. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

But Cheapoair does not give me a refund, hiding behind "airline policies" and airlines say "contact your third-party provider" - so you basically get no refund, no credit, no one takes responsibility for your ticket and they can't even provide proof of payment to the airline in order to request a direct refund from them. Change Air Travel dates due to Cruise booking being canceled. I was able to reach a very helpful person -- and we eventually got the airline ticket dates changed. The SAD part is I felt a bit "jabbed" in that I was charged an additional $376 to do so. You would think in this time of need -- that this would simply be an even swap of dates -- no "extra charges". The airline was DELTA/KLM. I just don't understand it.

This company has no excuse for having no contact center in this time. I bought a round trip for my family from CheapOair and our flight was done on Feb. 21th. My return flight was cancelled with Turkish Airlines (back to Canada for March 9th). Several days and several times I tried to call CheapoAir but, it was disaster. We booked a new airline to come back to Canada. During this 2 weeks of our trip, I called several times and each time I waited more than 2 hours but they didn't do anything for me and my family. They indicated that they could not me refund because the first portion to Tehran was used, the only option that they suggested was cancel the return flight and buy a new ticket with a new price and I have to pay about 5300 CAD more!!!.
Also during this time, I sent a lots of email to CheapoAir, which still hasn't been answered. What irritated me the most is when I got in touch with Turkish airlines, they indicated that only CheapoAir could cancel the flight and in fact, even though I used the first portion, they should found me a new return flight without any charging! I checked with Turkish Airlines office. They confirmed that the CheapoAir should be prepare a new ticket for me without any charging.
The agent with Turkish airlines assured me he wished he could help me but because it's CheapoAir have to do the refund, and they assured me the policy was to refund. So there you go. It is scammer, You book with them, they will do everything to blame the airline but really it's them! CheapOair are thieves, they sell you insurance in case something happens to the flight due to “airline issues” but they don’t honor the payment or even answer so you can reschedule. And when they finally do, your trip is already passed, then they make it seem it is your fault for not making the changes. I have been trying to connect for over three weeks because I found out the country I was visiting had closed the airports due to the corona virus quarantine. I bought my tickets at a price of $1447 on 3/2/20 then on 3/4/20 after I found out the country was not letting any tourist in I decided to contact customer support. It started with a call that lasted 4 hours where the operator kept putting me on hold or directing me to a different number where no one ever picked up the phone. Finally the call would hung itself after no response was given.
I understand the whole issue with the Corona virus but I requested to cancel or change the date of my flight since March 3rd in the self service. Finally on 3/16/20 I was able to speak to an operator, he told me his name was Sam. No ID or badge number or last name, just Sam, he told me I was still on time to make a change to my flight because it was in the 72 hour period. He offered me to reschedule my flight, the only thing I had to do was pay $1100 more, I had already paid $1447 for two tickets including the travel insurance. So at this point I feel like I have been robbed, no way to get a refund or even a portion of the money I paid, my itinerary was San Francisco-Houston and then Houston-San Salvador on 3/19/20. The flight from San Francisco to Houston left but the Houston-San Salvador was cancelled by the airline.
Since then I was not able to communicate with no one at cheapoair, they have all these phone numbers where you need to call but no one answer. The chat option does not work, and they take 5 to 7 days to answer. Why do they offer to sell you insurance if they don’t honor it? Like I say I feel like I have been robbed, the airlines and travel companies are going to be bailed out by the government. Why do they need to steal our money too, in this case the saying buying cheap is more expensive applies, I just would like to speak with an actual person when discussing this matter.
Please provide the 8 digit booking number.

CheapOair took our money, charged our credit card and sent us tickets pending. I couldn't get through on the telephone to see why tickets said pending and stayed on hold for 11 straight hours. One day and 6 hours at a time. 4 times over the next few days. They said to check flight 72 hours before leaving. They never sent us an email that our tickets were being processed. They were never processed by the airlines.
When I finally got them on the line they said the flight was canceled. This wasn't true. We called the airlines. They said it was running. When I told CheapOair this they said it was booked solid and we weren't on it. But they still charged me for the 2 tickets. They never sent correspondence of anything saying any different. That left my son and his family stranded. Thank the good Lord the US embassy saved them by providing a ferry for stranded people the next day. Had to buy tickets for another flight for the next day. Now CheapOair won't answer their phones or talk to me about a refund. I called the airline and they said they would give me a refund if CheapOair would process it. Not getting my hopes up. We were emailed on March 5th to advise that there'd been a scheduled change to our flights to Sweden on March 26th. So we tried calling (actually on-and-off over several days) but there was no reply or even any indication of when the call might get answered. I resorted to Live-Chat and the first time I was 67th in the queue but resolved to hang-on until I was next. It was 3 hours of waiting and eventually I was responded to. Everything seemed to be progressing well and I was on Live Chat for 45' when suddenly the screen changed and I was back in a queue!
So I queued again, this time I was 82nd and when I was finally answered, it was 2am UK-time. I was making similar progress, a refund as agreed but now the lady wanted to call Brussels Airline to arrange the refund (having already established there was no other flight arrangement that could get me to Sweden on the same day we had an event to go to). She couldn't help me anymore she said. Nothing she could do. I'd have to call back and try again. Luckily I have screen shots of the conversation because I knew she didn't want to help anymore. I had been trying to resolve this matter for 8 hours since I'd gotten the email. What else do we have to do?
Even their latest email (27/3) advises us to call the airline to arrange a refund - popping the ball to someone else. I think they are hoping to keep lots of the money we have paid without providing a service. Covid-19 is tough for companies, but what about the individuals, the ones with real money concerns and who can actually catch the virus or suffer indirectly? I just want to get a form I can relate to my European flight which was cancelled and get a refund.

From DFW to LHR on 3/9/20 & returning 3/31/20 via LHR & CDG to DFW. Flights were with Iberia & British Airways. With the outbreak of the COVID-19, many restrictions have taken place. My son-in-law is military and has been restricted to travel, especially to large cities like London. I’m 61 years old with autoimmune disorders & traveling with my 77 year old mother. (Recovering from a cold) Therefore, we decided it wouldn’t be a good idea for us to travel during this epidemic.
I called CheapOair on 3/6/20 to either cancel or reschedule our flights. Spoke to a representative, Bryan, that informed me that I could not reschedule but I could cancel without reimbursement. I told him this was unacceptable since I purchased the Insurance ($97.90) & the Support Package Premium-Air ($25.90) and travel is very restricted, especially overseas. Asked to speak to a manager, he placed me on hold & came back to tell me he could offer me a refund today (3/6/20) of $718.00. Still unacceptable!!! The representative, Bryan then told me to call back 12 hours before my flight. They could then check to see if the airline was still flying to London or have cancelled their flights. I called back 3/9/20 at 9:50 am & spoke to Scott.
Again, Scott told me no refund & that the airline was still flying. I explained to him this was unacceptable due to the pandemic hitting our country!! And, asked to speak to a manager. He put me on hold and came back with a “worth” ticket of $1288.90 - $300.00 ($150.00 per ticket) cancellation fee. So, he could offer me a refund of $988.90. I was so frustrated that I agreed to the offer. The next day I got a message from my credit card company that CheapOair charged my card “another” $300.00 .. not authorized!!!
The $300.00 was supposed to come off the “worth” of my ticket. And then I got an e-mail that I would get a refund to my card for $988.90. So now they have charged me more money.. $300.00 and I haven’t seen a penny back. My initial cost on 1/22/20 was $1518.97. I was charged $29.90 for travel assist?? On 2/22/20 (in which I have no idea what that was for) & $300.00 on 3/9/20. Total to date this crooked company has charged me $1848.87!! This isn’t right!!! I want a full refund..$1848.87.... However, when I checked the details of the email it showed the amount in CAD instead of USD! After countless more hours waiting in a message queue I got them to admit their 'error' (sic) and send me a new email with the amended amount in USD. They claimed the refund would be processed in 1-2 billing cycles, but this has not happened. CheapOair is courting a class action lawsuit by using the coronavirus as an excuse to exploit vulnerable consumers.
Original review: Their agents gave me unusable credit (it turns out that the credit will expire before I will have the opportunity to use it) in lieu of a refund (booking **), and later admitted to giving me false information, effectively flushing my plans (and money) down the drain. Upon following up with them, they admitted their 'error' and claimed they would get a manager to review my situation and call me back in 48 hours - which has not, and evidently will not, happen. Even when you get in touch with them, they refer you to someone else who will 'contact you' in a few days - and that never happens. They are using coronavirus as an excuse to exploit consumers. It is time for this company to do the honorable thing and make amends to those who they have wronged.

I need to simply reschedule my flight, but could not reach anyone at CheapoAir (call back requests never answered, phone immediately hang up, more than 3 hours of waiting in the chat support that only restarts the queue after "experiencing technical difficulties".) I could not reach them while trying in the last 3 days. What I need is a basic request for the cheapoair to talk to my airline and reschedule the flight. I checked carefully on the cheapoair website: they don't have any automated way to do so. I've confirmed with my air company that there are available options, but they need cheapoair (the service I've booked with) to negotiate on my behalf. I still have about 2 weeks before the date when I need to travel, but I am not sure if I could resolve my simple request in time. I don't envy people who's travel is coming any time soon.

We have flights booked four flights for our family to come and visit us. Due to the COVID-19 virus and our children being in the healthcare field and the crossing of borders between the US and Canada all non-essential travel is HALTED. When I originally contacted CheapOair I was advised to contact the airline! After being on the Chat for 13 hours and 35 minutes. (I have the chat log) I now find that CheapOair is charging $70 to cancel and $35 to change even though the Airlines are not charging to cancel or change flights. So now airlines cancel or change at ZERO cost, CheapOair is fine with charging us. CheapOair is great at taking YOUR $$ but providing refunds or any understanding to the current situation CheapOair FAILS MISERABLY. Very Disappointed.

Per Icelandair all flights booked prior to March 10 and flying to and from before April 30, 2020... can be cancelled! All international flights out of USA are to be cancelled.
No response as yet. Although Icelandair was paid for our seats, they stated we must go through this CheapOair Agency. But still no response! They can’t handle the Coronavirus nor do they have a crisis line -or phone numbers and/or a public statement. Some of our group flying out of Boston JetBlue got cancelled. Airbnb in Iceland is also cancelled.
CheapOair is still putting out offers for new bookings!! And if you call that number —they transfer your call and the line goes dead again. So now what? “Someone says they will give a voucher good one year from the date of purchase....nonetheless... no one is able to get through.” We would like an outcome. Icelandair Airfare paid for and CheapOair has their fee and we can’t fly out. No responses.

TLDR; I lost 2 trips, over $1,100 and A LOT of time dealing with their bad customer service. Gained a great headache. Not worth the "Cheap flights". This company irresponsible during this COVD-19 pandemic. From beginning to end this has been a horrible experience.
1. For some reason, when ever I login to CheapOair, it never shows my tickets on my account. If you sign in through Facebook, Google, email it makes a completely new account. So I can never sign in and I have to refer to emails.
2. I had to pay ~100 for 2 tickets for a name change, that was their fault.
3. This COVID-19 chaos. I understand how stressed they can be, and how difficult it is to manage so many people with high volume. But I waited in queue on chat for over 7 hours to be disconnected because I didn't add to the chat within a time frame. Their calls are always busy and I'm stressing because my flight is so soon! I have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 unfortunately and I am quarantined and when I asked for a refund (which I understand isn't part of their policy) even a credit for a later flight, they said no. They asked me to re-book (lol)? How do I know when this will blow over? So I asked for the same flights next year in which they said it has to be a flight by Dec 31, 2020.

Over the course of 3 days... I tried to cancel online, the system told me to call a number. I called that number and all the others they had on their site (which change over time). 11 phone numbers total, numerous times each and most would pick up and disconnect. The 5 different times I got through, I waited on hold for just about an hour, to have the phone abruptly disconnect. One time after an hour and 2 minutes it rang and I got an operator message saying the number is no longer in service. That was after I listened to their advertising for the entire time.
I tried doing their live online messaging and started over 700th in line. I stood by (3 hours) got down to about 180th and it disconnected me. I did it again and this time got down into the 170's before it disconnected me. I am waiting on another tab as I write this. Frustrated does not even come close to what I feel! I just do not get it. I recognize the high volume of callers but this is getting ridiculous. I'm fairly certain that when they see my caller ID, they know to give me hell. Today when I logged in, I noticed that all my flight information was gone and the amount of 'points' I received had gone up (though this is not a flight credit, just so you are clear). The company called me and explained everything. I appreciate their sorry for what happened with my two bookings (for me & my parents). Firstly, they have refunded/credited me all payments under their control but not the insurance because Philippine Airlines (PAL) is still in operation. The refunds include now the Agency Fees & Premium Support Package, though for Airline Ticket Cost (+Tax), PAL gave us credits (not money-back) and offered us 1 time Free rebooking/change of flights (under the same insurance coverage), we just need to pay for any price differences of the tickets (if higher) and keep the remainder for future travels. Secondly, they waived the cancellation fees $25 each person.

When you cancel your PAL flights due to COVID19 with CheapOair, they will NOT refund/credit back your payment to Taxes and Agency Fees!!! And one more thing, they will still charge you for $25.00 (each passenger) for a Cancellation Fee! WOW! So un-compassionate! Kind of illegal not to refund the tax portion!!! ???? In light with the COVID 19 issue going on right now, I can no longer travel due to the travel bans imposed by the government. I have contacted the customer service of CheapOair several times and wasn't able to get my ticket rebooked nor cancelled nor get a refund. In March 11, 2020, My airline (Phil Airlines) posted an advisory that they will allow one-time free rebooking. I tried to call Cheapoair to rebook my flight in March 18, 2020 to avail this free one time rebooking but unfortunately I wasn't able to get ahold of them.
In March 12, 2020, luckily, I was able to get ahold of CheapOair and was trying to rebook my ticket but they were asking me for Penalties and rebooking fees amounting to $693 and $487 for my daughters ticket because I am no longer allowed to avail the one time free rebooking with PAL (insane isn't it??). I was told by the agent named PWART to call my airline to asked them to reconsider and which I did. March 13 and 14, I tried to get ahold of the airline but sadly, no one ever answered my calls. March 14, I called back Cheapoair and same thing happened. March 15, I was able to get ahold of PAL and I spoked to the agent named DOM and he said he already put a note in my booking to avail the one time free rebooking and this made me more calm.
March 16, I called Cheapoair back and was able to spoke with the agent named HEYWOOD, he said he couldn't find the note that DOM made in my booking so now, he still wants me to pay the rebooking fees and penalties. And I explained further that this isn't my fault that I can no longer travel because the travel bans in Canada was already imposed by the Prime Minister and even to the my travel destination. These travel agents and even the supervisor I spoke to from Cheapoair never made a resolution into my issue. The life of my daughter is at state here and my travel is very essential and still the agents and the supervisor never wanted to reconsider my free rebooking and cancellation.
Coronavirus is causing everything to stop any activities and operations globally and CheapOair never wanted me to rebook my ticket for free, never wanted me to cancel and get a refund. How this thing can be considerate in their part? Like why these agency don't want to return the money of their customers? Never book with agency again!! I spoke with someone 2 weeks ago about getting travel vouchers for a future flight if we indeed have to cancel. Now that I have to cancel I have called every single customer service number hundreds of time and you either get:
- A number that rings busy.
- A person live only twice and after speaking with them and letting them know my situation they hang up on me??
- Then when I call the number back it blocks my call.
- I have tried all of the numbers then it will ring and drop my call.
- I have taken a screen shot on my phone of all of the different numbers for CheapOair customer service that I have called as well as the online refund request message to show that I have attempted to contact them and I have had zero luck.
My families flights cost a little over $4000.00 and I cannot even get someone to call me regarding my upcoming flights. I am empathetic that the airlines and travel agencies are overwhelmed but I think it's inexcusable to hang up on customers & having no customer service available to get back to you. Updated on 03/25/2020: I'm now on business day 36 and still have not received my refund of $800! This is a horrible way to do business. Taken that their policy said 3-5 business days for a pending charge to drop off. I will never recommend this company. My trip wasn't canceled because of Covid-19. I requested a refund same time I booked because I found a better price on a different site. To United Airlines, your affiliate in CheapOair represent you in a disgraceful. So far, no one has resolved this conflict. From the booking site to the airline.
Original Review: I purchased tickets that I cancelled same day because I found cheaper tickets through my insurance. My purchase for 6 tickets from the airline was $1600.86. I was only refunded half and have been fought by not only their billing dept and them not having a proper understanding of their policy and their supervisor who don't do their due diligence by correcting their mistake. I'm a month into the refund process and still haven't received my refund and no one is trying to resolve my issue. They are placing blame on my bank side after the fact that my bank has confirmed several times that the 2nd half of my refund is not pending or has been transferred over. From supervisors Sandy, Amy, Evis and last but least Sam are beyond rude and disrespectful when the company they represent is in the wrong. I don't recommend anyone use this company. They're frauds.

Well that wasn't what you confirmed to me TWICE before we hung..up the telephone! So frustrating. If the airline changes your itinerary that's called an INVOLUNTARY change and the traveler is allowed to cancel without penalty/fee. Well, that was the plan so I called CheapOair and waited 1hr 44m for an agent to come on line. I was put on hold TWICE with 10m waits as he had to get his manager's approval. After all that and some arguing (they wanted to give me a partial refund) I was promised a FULL refund (less one dollar, which I wasn't about to argue over). I was told it could take TWO billing cycles for my refund to appear on my credit card! Well, when the credit DID appear it was for $32 (instead of $170, as promised). Why in the world would I ever want to do business with this outfit again?

I purchased round trip tickets to China, and had to cancel the flight because US has banned foreigner entry due to coronavirus concerns. I called and waited 3 hours and finally talked to an agent, who told me that I could only cancel the flight for an unknown amount of refund, or I got nothing because obviously I couldn't cross the border to US. There's no point for me to keep the flight, which was China Southern, who has made a clear claim that they would refund everything to all customers who booked the flight before the coronavirus breakout. Still, ironically Cheapoair couldn't "know" the refund amount, and they said it would take 7 business days to know, so I compromised and cancelled the flight on Feb 1st for an unknown refund. I mean, what could I do when they wanted to rip off customers.
I waited 25 days, much longer than 7 days. hearing nothing from them, so I waited another 2 hours to get connected with them again, and an agent told me they still didn't know how much to refund me, I just had to wait another 7 business days, and here I am, writing this review on March 12, because AGAIN, not hearing from them about anything about the refund. BTW, it was $1800 tickets. I've learned my lesson and won't visit Cheapoair another second. Please learn the lesson from my experience and DON'T buy from Cheapoair. When we decided to travel to Tennesse, We of course searched for good priced air fare. One Travel had a good fare so I set up a trip with One Travel who switched us over to Cheap O Air. Upon doing so we purchased Insurance thinking that would cover if something unexpected came up. I learned Read the fine print. Not long after we set the trip up, came the Virus.
My husband is battling Cancer and is 80 years old. So we had to make a decision what to do. I spoke with my husband's Dr. and he strongly recommended we do not travel. Okay I tried numerous time through the day to reach One Travel. Phones were tied up and very long waiting periods. Finally I reached someone with Cheap O Air and she asked well when do you to go, Fall is a nice time, you can go for the holidays. Ummmmmmm, How do we know that with a global epidemic? So she put me on hold for about 1 hour. Then told me we are getting credit from the 2 airlines, and we need to use the airfare by the end of the year.
The airlines are waiving their rescheduling fees, And I know that the fees are diverted due to the situation as per government request. But Cheap O Air charged us $100.00 because we had to change. Why can you charge/! The situation is beyond our control! They should not charge and trying to get in touch with someone is a nightmare. So I'll Remember next time, you get what you pay for. They should have waived their charge. The Airlines did! Do not feel confident with this company.

Updated on 08/28/2020: This is the the second time I am writing a review on CHEAPOAIR. The first review I wrote said it was resolved when it was not. I booked my ticket to Japan in August 2019. In February I cancelled my ticket due to Covid-19. I was never told that I would lose out on literally more than half my money.. I wrote a review on the way they handled the situation. A manager contacted me on March 11 stating that I would receive a full refund and also sent me an email stating that. I received a portion and till till this day have not received the rest. I have emailed them over 15 times.
On June 1st a “Manager” contacted me and said that she would get back to me in a few days. I called back two week later and I was told that someone tried calling me, but I had no missed call and they didn’t leave a voice mail. I was told they needed more time. Yesterday I called back to see why this has been taking so long. The lady I spoke to was extremely nice and professional. She said that there is no way I would receive the full refund, but she would see what she could do and would contact me back in 10 minute.. It’s been a day later and still nothing.. DO NOT USE CHEAPOAIR.. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR.. DO NO I CAN’T STATE THIS ENOUGH DO NOT USE CHEAPOAIR. I have spent over 4 hours on the phone with this company.. What a waste of my time to have to fight for my money.
Update on June 25th- I finally got through and spoke to a supervisor… She said there is no way they could refund me the full balance that was sent to me by a Manager in March. After hours of waiting she finally called me back and said they would be able to refund a certain amount ($450.00)… I was so upset that after 4 months I had no choice but to accept the offer.. She told me it would take 7-14 days business days for the amount to be put back on my credit card. It has been 19 business days I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING. During the waiting time I received an email saying I would be refunded $74.32. I have emailed CheapOair about 5 times and I have even called and never get an answer... I called them today. After spending 20 minutes on hold the operator hung up without even speaking.. I called back and got through. They told me there was a mistake and I would get my refund within another 7-14 days.
Well guess what? I STILL HAVE NO RECEIVED MY REFUND!!!! So now we are on month 5 without receiving a refund YOU ARE A COMPLETE FARCE CHEAPOAIR…. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING... How is it possible that you had a toll-free number and now we have to pay the long distance to contact you. (What happened to your toll-free number?) After 6 months they have are still short on the amount of the refund quoted to me. Please do yourself a favour. Pay more and go with a proper company.
Original Review: I just literally spent 2 days trying to resolve the issue with Cheapoair and Korean Air. I am travelling to Japan on the 8th of April. I checked the news and it is clearly stated not to travel to South Korea and let alone Japan has closed their schooling for a month.. Cheapoair will refund half and said to contact the airline to get the remaining balance refunded. Well lo and behold the airline said that cheapoair has to refund it... And there is no travel ban to South Korea (where my layover is) or Japan.. These is getting to be a joke.

A friend of mine was going to treat me to a stay at her timeshare in Mexico to celebrate my "cancer free" diagnosis for pancreatic cancer. I made our flight reservations in February through CheapOAir for our trip at the end of March. In light of the Coronavirus, I was advised by my oncologist to not fly until the epidemic has subsided. Unfortunately, I fall into the category of over 60 and having underlying health condition that is currently being advised not to travel or be in heavily populated areas to avoid coming in contact with the virus.
I called CheapOAir to ask if I could cancel and get credit towards another flight in the future. I was told that it would be $2500 per ticket to cancel the flights (this did not include a refund or credit)...just to cancel the reservations..but I could contact the airlines directly to see if they would offer me anything and to be sure if they said no, "be sure to ask to speak to a manager." The airlines said I needed to speak to CheapOAir because they had nothing to do with the charges I paid for.
I spoke to CheapOAir again and was again told that basically I just threw my money away and I would be a "no show" for the flight or it would cost me double the flight to cancel. How silly is that. Well, the moral of this story is had paid the $70 for the travel insurance, I would have been reimbursed for the service fees being charged to cancel, even though I would not be reimbursed for the ticket purchases. I wish I hadn't listened to my friend and just made my reservations directly with the carriers, as I'm sure they would have been much more helpful. Celebrating at home!

My first experience with them was wonderful but the other experiences thereafter seems that they're kind of crooked try to rip you off. When you go online to book flights it will jump the gun and confirm the flight without you confirming it and then when you call to change it it's a charge or if you want a refund it's a charge. You know like that's the way they getting over on you and I don't understand how they're able to confirm it without the individual confirming it their self and in my case trying to travel for a funeral service they take your money right away. But when is it coming to a refund it takes so many days to get it back so is almost keeping us from being able to even go to the funeral because they have my money are tied up and won't refund it at a promptly time. But they take it away just like that without your confirmation. Think that's a rip-off.

Then they say you can't cancel, but they can't get your booking lined up. I have been on the phone with them probably 15 times over the last 3 weeks for a simple $350 domestic flight. Do the math. I had a lengthy chat with cheapo where they acknowledged the flights I booked at the cost. They said the flights were no longer available. My experience was very good. The agent was able to facilitate my request very quickly. She was very thorough and reviewed all the changes with me to ensure everything met my expectations...all is good.

I was charged for a rent-a-car for the funeral of my brother in New York and and had to pay twice without being reimbursed for the first payment. To date I have not heard back nor gotten a refund of my money. I was told there would be no refund. My brother-in-law had to pay for car. I will make every effort to spread the word on this. THANKS A LOT for your lousy service.
