Went to Bass Pro and they offered me a 3 night stay at a hotel and a $125 gift card for a 2 hour presentation. I didn’t even know where I was staying until A few days before our stay. We didn’t even got to see their resort which is suspicious. Maybe because they didn’t want us to talk to current members or maybe there are no space in their resorts for potential buyer. The day of the presentation they kept us for 4 hours trying to sell me the timeshare which we politely declined. The salesman couldn’t answer any questions and is not an owner. Strange?
If this is so great why they don’t own a timeshare. If this company is that good why don’t they let you try their products first and experience ownership before you buy. If you have 40k plus 1k to pay yearly fees , have additional money to buy extra points, Are flexible with your travel dates and don’t mind not getting the place you want. This could be good for you. I believe products sell by themselves especially a company that has been around for 59 years and has 210,000 members. It saddens me seeing 1 star reviews. As an owner I would definitely do something about this. I would like to see 5 or 3 stars reviews from long term owners.

Booked a stay and spoke with a Celine requesting a unit in Bldg 1 as my wife is disabled and limited to where she can go. Upon arrival I was offered a Timeshare reservation I gracefully declined. I was put in Bldg 2, no view and no way of getting wife to pool areas without wheelchair. They lied and ruined what should have been a wonderful stay, turned into exile for my wife who is a cancer patient and quite dismayed at memories missed with grandkids.. Stranger Danger on this place. All they want is your money, the deceit is free.

While shopping at Bass Pro Shop I was approached by a Bluegreen Vacations salesperson offering a 3-day/2-night stay at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri. That right there turned out to be the worst decision of my life. If only I would have known that talking to the salespeople that day was going to turn into my worst nightmare, I would have minded my own business and kept walking. When we agreed to this inexpensive vacation, we were told we had to attend a 90-minute timeshare presentation. 90-minutes of our time for this sweet deal…sign us up!
When the time came for our vacation, we attended the meeting, and we were expecting something fast and calm with no pressure. However, that wasn’t the case - those shady salespeople immediately pressured us into purchasing a timeshare. They went on and on about how great it is to own a timeshare and fed us lie after lie! They know what to say and what not to disclose. The only people they cared about at that presentation was themselves, they worked hard to hustle us out of our money and throwing us aside once we signed the contract. We were lured and tricked into purchasing a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations, remember that name and don’t ever forget it or you’ll be sorry!

Bluegreen has caused me so much strife that I hate the fact that I cannot give them zero stars. I have never dealt with a more dishonest and deceptive company before! All they have done is rob my family and I of over $12,000 for NOTHING. I have tried a minimum of 2 dozen times to get a reservation and have only been able to take a single vacation. That’s definitely not worth $12,000!
What’s worse is that what I got was nothing like the salespeople described. When I was told my twin daughters would inherit the timeshare, I never imagined it came with the huge financial weight as well. Then there was the “Choice Privileges” account, which was SUPPOSED TO open up a ton of new vacation possibilities. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. Just as before, I can never get a reservation. Do not waste your time or money on this timeshare company. And please, for your own benefit, do not fall for ANYTHING they say. It’s ALL lies!

We agreed to the Bluegreen promotional before the pandemic. Of course, we could not go during that period. Then I developed a painful back issue and my mother now has serious health issues. We cannot leave her for an extended period. Then we started getting threatening emails giving us a deadline to make a reservation. I asked, due to these unforeseen circumstances, if I could get a refund of the deposit. The person on the phone refused to listen. I told them to keep the money and assured them I would warn others of their pressure campaign and heartless business practices.

We were approached in Cabela's about a cheap vacation. The only catch was that we had to sit through a two hour timeshare presentation on one of the days. We chose Orlando and arrived at 8:40 for a 9:00am presentation. I wanted to get it out of the way early and go have lunch because I'm diabetic. We were still there almost six hours later. We said no multiple times. They wouldn't take no for an answer. We finally agreed to buy a 2 year package for $2995.00 but they kept coming back with more paperwork for $30,000 or $16,000 or $13,000. We kept saying no. They wouldn't let us leave.
We finally agreed to the $13,000 plan and gave them a credit card so we could leave. I am diabetic and my blood sugar was dropping fast. I had turned white and was clammy all over. We informed them of this. They STILL kept coming back trying to make us buy the $30,000 plan instead. Some woman finally came up and tried to book us for a learning presentation and then demanded we pay her $49.00 for a tutorial booking fee. That was the final straw. I couldn't believe the nerve.
We demanded our card back, said we were backing out, and wanted to leave. They STILL kept coming at us until I nearly collapsed from my blood sugar. I had to go outside to vomit due to that issue and they FINALLY gave us our card and let us leave. Do not fall for this. It will NOT be two hours. They won't let you say no. They won't let you leave. They'll bring a ton of people at you to spout numbers and pull up better "plans" for you and you will be kept there until they break you down. It took my blood sugar dropping to dangerous levels for them to allow us to leave. I wound up so sick it was crazy. They tell you two hours, which would have been fine, then six hours later they're still forcing their crap on you. SIX LONG HOURS for nothing.
I've never in my life experienced anything like it. I was blown away by how they treated us. It was revolting to waste valuable time that way by telling you one thing and doing another. If they promise two hours... it should be two hours. Some people, like me, have medical issues. And to then come up and demand $49.00 more for a tutorial trip was the straw that broke the camel's back. They penny and dime you to death at this place. They kept sending some guy from Aruba out to tell us he was going to talk to his boss for a special deal for us since he liked us and liked our 'dream vacation' goals. He'd come back with one package, we'd say no, he'd rush back to his boss because he 'cared for us so much' and then come back with other offers.
No matter how often we said no... it didn't matter. Even when I explained my medical issues and showed them my Insulin and needles... they kept going and going and going. It was a nightmare. I regret going to this place at all. All they want is money and to herd you around like cattle from one place to another until they break you down by keeping you there. It was sickening.

I had signed a contract with Bluegreen Vacations in Charleston, SC for one of their timeshares on February 22nd, having been enticed by an offer by a representative through Choice Awards Hotel for a 3 night stay at a 4 star resort. I flew to Charleston and rented a car for that stay and stayed at the Hampton Inn, Patriots Point, which is a 2 star hotel. The front desk clerk told me immediately that evening, having waited for over 2 hours at the airport for my car rental, that I needed to attend the Bluegreen timeshare presentation at 9 am the next morning. It was nearly midnight when I checked in and my luggage had been lost by the airlines. I couldn't make that meeting at 9 am, and ended up driving to the airport the next day at 2 pm to retrieve my luggage arriving on another flight. I scheduled it again the following day, February 22nd, 2022.
I should have known better than to have signed a contract with Bluegreen, as it seemed shady from the start, including the behaviors of the "sales team" personnel, the presentation, which lasted a good deal longer than advertised, and the sales agent himself, who after applying for a Bluegreen credit card from Barkley's Bank, was acting quite suspiciously it seemed. However, I did sign a contract for 16,200.00 for part ownership of a timeshare, which I intended to pay in full, once I returned home. The sales agent convinced me it was a "good deal."
After contacting one of their customer service agents, who I thought acted suspiciously, and then reading several reviews of Bluegreen on this website and others, I decided to terminate the contract and followed the protocol stipulated by South Carolina and Bluegreen on February 25th, well within the 5 day contract termination period.
I sent via return receipt certified mail my letter of notice of termination for my contract on February 25th and have kept a copy of that letter, and followed up with phone calls to their customer service representatives during the following weeks. At least 2 of their representatives initially verified the contract termination letter and assured me that no mortgage payments would be charged. However, having spoke to one of their other managers, he told me they didn't have the letter and to send him copies of the return certified receipt, which I did taking photos from my cell phone to him directly via email. He also told me that I needed to send back all documents I had been given and obtained during the contract signing process, which I did and had brought them to the post office to do so.
I have been in contact with one of their customer service management representatives, Kimberly **, who has verified turn of those documents with a photo of them sent to me in an email. In an email, she verified that my contract had been terminated. However, I have been getting written letters from Bluegreen Vacations informing me that my mortgage account is delinquent and that I need to pay for past mortgage payments, which is incredible. They have notified to credit reporting agencies of delinquent credit. I have stayed in contact with Ms. ** including the letter they had sent most recently, who assured me 4 days ago that she would "look into this immediately and haven't heard back from her yet.
I sent her another email this morning asking where things stand. I had also been contacted by one of their collection department representatives on the telephone, Stacy ** who informed me to send her a copy of Ms. **'s email as verification of cancelation of my contract, which I did. I followed up and an email back to Ms. ** requesting the status of my last correspondence with her, but her email address was no longer valid, according to notification from my gmail email account.
I had also sent a letter to their "mortgage research department," which included a copy of the February 25th notice of termination letter, a copy of the return receipt verifying they had received that letter, and a copy of Ms. **'s email verifying termination of my contract, on May 4th, 4 days ago. That was after receiving their last notice. That letter stipulated I had 30 days to respond to my "delinquent mortgage account," yet this morning I was alerted to reported delinquencies to the credit reporting agencies from Bluegreen Vacations Corporation. I called their corporate office this morning and left a message about this. I had tried several times in the past to contact their corporate office in Boca Raton, but their message machine informed me that they were out of the office because of CoVid-19. I certainly would have preferred never to have been involved nor introduced to Bluegreen Vacations timeshares.

CROOKS, there’s not better word to describe Bluegreen Vacations! Their timeshare sale staff manipulated me and my husband into spending an outrageous amount of money on their worthless timeshare. They scammed us into this purchase, telling us how amazing their product is! What we’ve come to learn is that Bluegreen timeshares are inherently worthless, and are a scam used to drain customers of their hard-earned money. We fell for their sales ploy because they told us that the timeshare “would pay for itself as we would be able to rent out the property”, WHICH WAS A LIE!!
Our scheming salesperson told us we had to decide right on the spot or else the offer would never be available again. Of course, we didn’t want to miss out on all the benefits we were pitched so unfortunately, we agreed to the purchase. Once we tried to make reservations, it was a whole different story as the amount of points they sold us doesn’t equate to the spacious accommodations we were shown at the presentation.

The guy who sold us this told us we wouldn't have to sit through a presentation and guess what. Two and a half hours long. We were told we could have up to six people in separate rooms and we got one bed and pull out sofa. When I called about upgrade when I realized this not what we wanted and it said $80 for it guess what. They conveniently didn't have one. After speaking to a manager ended paying $330 for 2 beds in same room and when checking out seen someone else only had to pay $89. The room is definitely not what the presentation shows and it was a lie after another lie. Don't do it.

Although the company told us we were purchasing a vacation in one of their "resorts" following purchase, while booking our stay we were informed that we really just booked our vacation in a regular motel, they then stated when we asked why we were NOT in the resort as we were previously told that we have to purchase an ADDITIONAL package to stay at their resort! Watch out for this company, they do NOT tell you what you are really purchasing until it is too late and you cannot get your money back!

Aggressive sales tactics, unable to book what you think you are paying into ie. lack of inventory. Sales portrays expansive choices but when it comes to booking it, not the case. Plus busy "red" blocks are year long. Our experience is that any dialogue to navigate this is met with "you need to buy more points to get reservation access sooner". Big red flag-nearly impossible to resell interest -good luck reaching corporate in Boca Raton to discuss sale back to developer (Bluegreen). My husband and I were lured in to purchases (and upgrades)-it is embarrassing that we gave in to sales pressure and really have nothing to show for it. Buyer beware.

We were at Bass Pro shop and were offered “this amazing” deal to stay in Las Vegas for three nights and just listen to their presentation that was only supposed to be 60-90 minutes tops! We told them we had plans with our kids but they were so focused on pressuring us and offering us the best deal that we were there for 3 hours. The hotel was a dump and not in a good area. The furniture in our room was broken down and just meh. They swore the lot next door was going to be a lazy River and new building but whatever we don’t believe them. At one point the fire alarm went off and they were so bent on getting us to sign up that they weren’t even going to have us evacuate. I was like, "Oh heck no." I’m going to check on my kids who were in the parking lot being evacuated. Who even does that!
I’m embarrassed to say we were talked into signing up even against our better judgement BUT we got home and it was really nagging me sooo we pulled out ALL THE PAPERWORK and guess what? In the very back we found the escape clause that in BOLD red letters says they are supposed to go over with the buyer. It said we had 5 days to cancel so we did! Got our deposit back and will never do that again!

As much as it pains me to says this, stay away from Bluegreen. It only pains me because of the amount of money I have lost to this scam they call a timeshare. In my opinion, the salespeople are sociopaths. They all seem to enjoy intimidating and lying to people. I have been unable to book trips as promised. The value the salespeople spoke of is not real (both personal value and monetary). When you voice a concern about anything, the ONLY option they have is for you to buy more points which does not help at all. I have wasted thousands for nothing in return. The worst part is that I have no choice when it comes to what happens to the timeshare when I pass. This purchase has made me miserable, but even more so knowing that my children will automatically inherit this junk!

I purchased this time share, and was very excited about it. I was told that I would be able to use my points to vacation in Hawaii this year and was quoted 5500 points for a 7 day stay. I was told that I would be able to take an African Safari next year (which was my driving factor for making this purchase) for 9500 point and that year after I could go to Australia for 6000 points. I have all of this in writing. I was also quoted trips to Mexico for 1500 points with "a small all inclusive fee". I was told that I would use these point through the partner RCI website. I was told that I had a 10 day cancelation period, in which I was never even given access to this partner site. I did call and attempt to book via phone in this period and was told that I would not be able to see availability or a point quote until I had RCI access. I trusted what I was told. I did not receive access to this website until day 15 after contract signing.
For the Bluegreen location in St. Pete Beach, I was quoted 6000 points for this for a 2 bedroom. Actually, even in the less-busy season a studio is 8000 with no view, 11000 with a view. I was also told that we would be able to use/stay at the resort in AZ "anytime". It's actually booked completely for the next 6 months. I was also informed that the sales rep at the time, Damon, was fired and "escorted out for making promises and lying" 2 weeks after he sold this to me. On day 15 I was given access to the RCI website. The Hawaii trip that I was quoted 5500 point was actually 13000. African Safari is not even an option. They do not have any resorts/campsites in safari areas. The only option would be South Africa (again, not a safari) for 10000-15000 points.
There is nothing even available in Australia, so I cannot even look at a point quote. Regarding Mexico trips, it's actually 3000-4000 plus the all-inclusive fee is the same as booking the resort on Expedia, not even using points. Now, I cannot get the cancelation department to call me back. The customer service is very nice. They keep "escalating" my case, but no one ever calls me back. I have been trying for 3 weeks.

Firstly, we really didn't appreciate the high pressure sales pitch for the timeshare buy in. They promised that it would not be high pressure. Several things they said were not true. They started out with 12 points for $36,000. My husband is a finance professor and knew that most of the things they said were dishonest. And the interest across the board was 17%. That's a red flag. They also used several text book sales tricks to bring you in by stating dishonestly how much money the buy in would save us. Never mentioning how much the cost would offset the savings.
The last straw that convinced us it was a scam was when my husband said no. Because when he said no a much better deal emerged. Then when he said no again, they offered 20 points for the same price they had given for 12 points. Also they asked us when we came in how we signed up for the presentation and we told them (each person we talked to) that we signed up at Bass Pro. So they knew that before we even sat down. I asked point blank that if they could give us the last offer for the same price then why didn't they offer that deal first. Their excuse was that at first they didn't know we signed up at bass pro. However, They knew that information upfront and the only thing that the new much better deal came after was the fact that we said no.
I do not want others with limited income to fall for this scheme and be locked in to paying such a high price with an interest rate that very much sounds like usury to me. And when we asked specific details and numbers they couldn't provide it. We got the run around. They said it was on their website but that was for members only. And we had to sign up immediately or we would not get the good deal ever again.
They don't want people to leave the high pressure sales pitch because they do not want you to have time to sort out the truth. If it were on the up and up they would show actual numbers and give people time to look at it. We Never got a straight answer. I try very hard to avoid doing business with people that I know are lying to me. Please be careful before you spend your hard earned money on this "vacation buy in". There are a lot of resources out there for discounts on travel. We know because we travel a lot and have visited 40 countries at discounted rates.

I could never recommend Bluegreen to anyone, whether that be loved ones or strangers on the Internet or even people I do not like. I wouldn't wish my experience with this company on anyone. They clearly have no qualms about taking advantage of Veterans. I was originally lured in with the promise of a two-night stay in a Las Vegas resort, free meals, and gift cards. To receive all these perks, I had to attend a sales presentation.
From the start, I was lied to. Every salesperson I dealt with was pushy and said the deals they were offering me were only good that day. Looking back, I know this was a sales ploy. They made promises that they had no intention of keeping, like renting out my timeshare for profit. They purposefully withheld financial information such as total debt after interest was calculated or the high maintenance fees. Even worse, if you are asked to attend an owner review meeting, the cycle starts all over. The Bluegreen vultures are constantly circling and trying to take your money.

We purchased our first vacation package with Bluegreen over 10 years ago and we happy with what we had. In 2019 we went to an owner update and was told nothing but lies. We were told we could save our money for our 25th wedding anniversary trip and spend it on a Bluegreen package and get the same trip much cheaper. Well it all was a lie and we filed complaints with Bluegreen and of course they did nothing to help.
In Sept of 2021 we went to St. Pete Fl for another owner update and were promised that if we got this new package and then called a bank named Suntrust they could combine both our loans for a payment about the same we are paying now. They even had a account specialist show us what our payments would be based on our credit score. Of course when we went into the meeting to sign the documents we were told not to mention the other bank. We when we got home we tried to combine both loans and the payment was twice as much as what we told. So we wrote a letter to cancel the new contract and sent it in by certified mail. Oh yeah we were told that we had to wait 10 days before calling the bank to combine both loans.
Well the certified mail was sent out of Sept 14th, which I am now being told is 3 days past when they would accept it. They have no one that holds them accountable and know how to push the limits of every little detail to get you to sign or legally bound to them. They are tricksters, liars and cheats. I have yet to get anything near honesty out of anyone from Bluegreen in the past 3 years. Run away from this company. Right now I am down $1300 down payment and monthly payments for the past 5 month on new mortgage. Almost 20 years ago, we had purchased a timeshare with Bluegreen. Every year, we would go to the Daytona 500 and stay in our unit. Last year, we were offered a free trip to Las Vegas to attend the NASCAR race, which would include a free room, as well as a welcome party, suite at the race, and a meet-and-greet with a driver. As huge NASCAR fans, this was a dream come true and we felt honored that Bluegreen would recognize our loyalty in this way. However, this was really just a bait-and-switch tactic that resulted in us being forced into a 5-hour high pressure sales presentation where we were forced into converting our ownership to a point-based membership that is completely unusable!
Over the course of this loan, we will be paying almost $100,000 for something that will get us nothing in return. Had the staff been truthful about this purchase or gone over any of the loan information, we would not be in this situation. I cannot believe that any company would treat any customer in this way, but especially not ones they have labelled as “valued owners”. They are unreal!!

Do yourself a favor and RUN the other way. Dealing with Bluegreen, or taking one of their “free” vacations, is not worth the frustration it will cause in the end. All the things we were told by our salesman and all the reasons we decided to purchase were nothing but lies from people that care more about making a dollar. We were told that we’d be making a “profitable investment”, but there is no money to be made by owning a timeshare. You are wasting money, more money than they tell you. We agreed to a certain price but were not informed of how much we were agreeing to after interest.
By the time I pay this off, it will be more than twice the purchase price. Now my family and I are stuck in a crippling financial situation because of Bluegreen’s deception. All of this and we can never even USE the timeshare. Good luck getting reservations. Nothing is ever available, especially if you want to book for more than a single day. So, after another bout of numerous unhappy experiences dealing with your company, we decided we are going to let you all know how this company handles things. All of our meetings with the timeshare included the promise of great get-away vacation spots. The opportunity to book months in advance. Free get-away weeks. Able to sell our weeks/points to pay maintenance fees. 90-minute meetings lasted a minimum of 2-3 hours. Multiple salespeople presenting this is something wonderful and the ability to pass it down to our children. Sale people agreed to work side by side with us to book and manage our points effectively. What we got was the Inability to book resorts 15 months in advance as promised. Told we were in the top 1% of owners and wouldn’t have any issues in book anytime anywhere.
When booking our reservations we were promised certain rooms but upon arriving at the resort this wasn’t true. Requested rooms group for family events we were not close to each other or same floor. Special requests 15 months in advance for a presidential suite in a certain building were not meet was put in a presidential suite without a working stove, outdoor grill and foldout couch. The "ability" to leave it to our kids, wasn't a choice, they were going to get that handed to them either way no matter what their choice was. We could spend less money vacationing outside of our timeshare and actually be able to book a trip at the times we wanted to go.
The exchange rate through Choice plus or RCI was almost triple the rate and was subpar, to say the least. The maintenance fees are a financial burden for anybody since they rise each year. Resort managers were extremely unsympathetic to our needs. We arrived at certain resorts, and our rooms were unclean from previous guests. When reporting an item/equipment not working properly the maintenance would say “Oh we know it doesn’t work and has never worked” but yet it was specifically requested in our reservations. Then, when reaching out to get rid of this since nothing we were promised happened, we were told there is nothing we can do. You signed a contract. You owe us money.
They offered to settle for an astronomical amount that was laughable. Mike ** from the timeshare was just trying to get any type of money he could. We have major issues with Bluegreen and how they sold us. We are constantly forced to go to presentations on our vacations and all they try to do is sell you more and more points since we "didn't have enough to vacation how we wanted." With the number of points we have, this should not be an issue. We are continuously let down by this company and continue to this day. We will keep fighting for a release in any way we can.
We wish we never came into contact with Bluegreen or their salespeople. They will pressure you until they can not anymore and ultimately you cave. Making the deal sweeter and sweeter. When they know you will not get what they are promising. We have nothing good to say about this company. Word of mouth is looked at highly in these times. We will continue to use our voice until something is done in the matter. We are not a game to be won. We are not pawns to play with. This needs to be corrected fast.

They told us that we would get $75 gift card for Cabela’s after we attend the presentation. We went online to “book.” We selected city and dates and clicked Book. It said that we are booked and we would receive an email once the hotel confirms our stay. We never got an option to see the hotels and where exactly were we staying. Nothing. The number to call is closed on the weekends. We had to wait until Monday to call. Horrible experience! When we reported this with the sales agent at the presentation, Austin replied “we have nothing to do with that.” Yet, they claim they are #1 in customer service awards.
The presentation is 3 hours minimum. We had said NO numerous times and thankfully were able to walk away without purchasing anything. Mallory gave the presentation to the whole crowd. She was pleasant but doesn’t allow for any questions, of course. She’s been with Bluegreen vacations for 12 years yet she hasn’t been to her dream vacations. Makes no sense right there.
The sales agent meets with you afterward and we met with Sean and he was new and kind. However, we kept saying no. That’s when Austin came over and did not answer any one of our questions. He kept talking about what he wanted to and all the deals we would be getting this one time. We asked him to listen to our concerns and he walked away.
Our resorts were not in their book or on the RCI website. We picked one to get an understanding how much if any are we saving with going through them versus our way. Austin said there was no way to show us how many points that specific hotel with specific dates would be. It was all a huge waste of time. They sell you the 20,000 points for $75,000 but because you came to the presentation that day they will knock it down to $40,000. Do not buy into this. They don’t you tell you about the additional costs every year and the meeting you need to attend where they try to coerce you to purchase more points. Do not give in.
If you meet with the sales representative afterwards, let them know you will not sit and you do not want to buy or share the reason as to why either. You listened to the presentation and would like to get the free gift cards for your time and walk out to the waiting room. They will try to talk about your family, how long you’ve been married, your vacation destinations, your dreams… Do not answer any of these questions. Let them know kindly you want to keep that confidential and leave.
Stay away from Blue Green Vacations and ANY other timeshare package. They are all the same. Yes, you will spend the money either way but at least it’s where you want to go and when you want to go. Don’t listen to their lies. They will try every which way to get you the more you talk and share about yourselves. So don’t give them anything.

This company stay away from. They will look you in the face and tell you if you're not happy you can get out of this contract by sending a letter to the site. They have no intentions it ever getting back to them in the ten day period. We over nighted our letter. It was sign in the ten day grace period but still no answer. We have contacted severe county res of deeds, talk to Kathy, said she now is aware of the problem and she will pass it along, She also got a letter that we sent overnight so she also seen the lie they told us. She told me Tenn law says within thirty days not ten days you can get out of this contract. She also gave me attorney's name to fight this since we have a sign document within the ten days...
They know now how Bluegreen operates in their great State of Tennessee and another thing you need to stop using Dolly Parton name to sell your product. I do not think her name would want to be associated with this company if so I never watch anything of hers again.... so people stay away from these crooks. Also turned them in to the Better Business Bureau too.

So we went through Bass Pro Shop in Kansas City. Upon arriving, we were told about our meeting the next morning and where to go. The supposed 2-hour meeting lasted twice as long. When we decided that their offer was not for us, they sent over three additional sales persons to tell us that we ‘are making a HUGE mistake’. They then proceeded to belittle us when we explained that we had priorities set to start a family. The salesman argued with me about the concept of this being ‘real estate’, rather than a time share (which it is). There was honestly a point where I hit my head against the table in frustration.
For attending the meeting, they gave us a $50 gift card and told us that we could use it towards any fees—such as room service—during our stay. When we went to check out, Bluegreen claimed that they ‘incorrectly informed us’ because they do not accept the gift card. Every situation with Bluegreen was exasperating and the weekend getaway was anything but restful. I would recommend staying at Big Cedar Lodge but would NOT recommend going through Bluegreen vacations.

I would love to give Bluegreen a ZERO-star review, unfortunately, that’s not an option. Taking them up on a 3-day vacation when we had no intention of buying a timeshare was a mistake. When we got to the resort to start our vacation, we had to attend a presentation for 2 hours, but it ended up taking much more of our day. Our saleswoman, Cheyanne, told me this was NOT a timeshare. When I had more questions, no one, including the supervisor, provided sufficient answers. The salespeople did tell me that there was a buyback program for this “investment” and that I was getting an exclusive military discount that was good for only that day. I was promised plenty of reservation availability and told that a 5-day vacation would typically cost about 2,000 points. As it turns out, it’s a minimum of 4,000.
During the contract portion, I was signed up for a credit card and not told what the interest amount would be. No one gave me time to read and understand the contract or look into the financing charges. I have since learned that only about $40 of the $220 I pay monthly is going to my debt, the rest is all interest!! Everything I was told was a fabrication to sell their “holiday homes”.

Exactly what one would expect. Flowery, common sense presentation extolling the virtues of an idealistic Time Share Ownership. Lots of consensus building and “Yes” questions, pie in the sky…. The unicorns were flying over rainbows by the end of hour one. Obviously, No questions are ever permitted during the 1st serving of the Time Share Kool Aid. Well done. Then, a human cattle drive thru a few staged properties that looked and smelled new… Very nice.. Of course. Nothing disagreeable here…except…if these properties are so nice, WHY did Bluegreen pay for us to stay in an off site hotel, with uncomfortable beds, 30 minutes away? Were they afraid we might talk to other “Owners” the night before they tried to close us? Hmm..…
Then, the interrogation designed to address our savvy Buyer objections…where tough questions about maintenance fees, and other fees not discussed beyond the amazing & low buy in fee were effectively dodged and dismissed as minor & irrelevant. Then, the pre-requisite probing question about whether we might consider taking advantage of their “Today only” great “1st time visitor” deal. Ha! I laughed. Why the urgency? What do you have to hide? Why the rush? No answer, beyond telling us “how many people said “No” on their first visit, and regretted it for the rest of their lives. Oh, I’ll bet! :D
So, then we hit the two hour point. I’d said NO, this sale is not going to happen today…half a dozen times at that point, and then our warm up Sales Rep excused himself to retrieve their Closer. She was a battle hardened Time Share Shark who had all the right questions…and answers…to overcome ALL savvy Buyer questions…. Except for mine. She met her match in a Buyer who relished being on the receiving end of high pressure sales. And then it happened. She informed me there was no need to be “rude.” Loved it, and doubled down. I reminded her that she promised us a “two hour” sales presentation, which we agreed to listen too, and now she was 15 minutes late and on OUR time…. And by that point I’d answered her easy questions, and politely said NO at least a dozen times in the past two hours, and she promised “no pressure” sales… So really, Lady….really…WHO is being rude here? Busted.
At that point, she stopped, she presented whatever they promised on top of the free three nights at a nice Hotel in Branson,. And, she effectively turned a “No” that might have gone to a maybe or a yes after some research…into a definite NO in the last 15 minutes of her high pressure pitch. I’ve since researched Blue-Green, with my network, and found one from who had a past with them as well. According to him, they talk a big game, but fall far short of delivering anything beyond headache & heartache. It was a NO before. It was a NO during, and it is a definite NO today. They got two hours and fifteen minutes of our time, and not a dime more. Buyer Beware. There is a reason they do not want you staying on their Property before they pressure-pitch you:
They do not want to chance current “Owners” telling you what Blue Green won’t. The only thing you own here is a mortgage and endless fees & interest that compound annually, but you definitely will never OWN any property on a Blue-Green resort. Ever. If you cannot sell or transfer property, then you are NOT the “Owner.” Owning a mortgage and annual undisclosed fees is not property “Ownership,” it is Time Share Ownership. Best of luck in your search!

We started by purchasing a promotion through Bass Pro Shop. We went to Williamsburg, Va. everything was great the resort was beautiful, everything seemed great. While there we sat through the sales presentation and wasn’t sure if we wanted to to go all in so we bought points towards a one time vacation and we were gifted a three day weekend to another presentation to make up our minds. Fast forward some time, because of COVID our three day weekend was canceled. When we called to schedule it was just gone. They no longer offer what we were told. Fast forward some more and we take our vacation we paid for to Orlando, Florida to the Fountains.
We arrive and go to our room and our room is filthy. There was tried food on the cabinets, thick dust on the vents and walls, the bathtub had hairs and soap scum, the shower had hairs, soap scum, and a broken necklace. The washer had scum on the agitator and the dryer was full of hair and lint. I called to the front desk they said they would send housekeeping, I explained the problem was bigger than that. So they moved us to another room. That was was dirty as well. Almost the exact same problems. I called to the front desk and they said that all they had. Not to mention we were promised a $100 gift card to talking to the sales people for one hour so we did. Mostly to complain about the nasty room. They apologized however nothing was done. At the end we were told we were promised the gift card by mistake so we didn’t even get that. This has been the worst hotel experience ever!

We were shopping at Bass Pro Shops when we were approached by an employee of Bluegreen offering us a stay at Big Cedar Lodge. Since visiting Missouri is something that we have always wanted to do, we agreed to a 3-day stay. However, when we arrived, we discovered that we were not actually staying at the resort as we were originally promised. Instead, we were down the street at another hotel. In hindsight, this should have been a red flag to us! The meeting was at the resort and quickly became a high-pressure sales situation where we finally chose to purchase a trade-in unit because we believed that we were purchasing a piece of real estate.
Over the next 4 years, we would attend several owner update meetings, which were really just sales presentations in disguise. Each time we were told that our problems, like being able to book a vacation, would be alleviated with more points and a higher status. At this last meeting, we were attempting to add our daughter to the contract, on the advice of your employees. Thankfully, we were unable to do so as the employees would not allow us to do so without purchasing more points. At each of these meetings, we were told that these could be resold back to Bluegreen if we wanted and that we could refinance the loan at a bank of our choosing later. UNTRUE! Yet, they conveniently never told us the true cost of ownership, the interest rate on the loans, or that we had the right to cancel within a certain time period. The employees at this company are a bunch of liars!

While shopping at a Bass Pro Shops in TN, we were approached by a Bluegreen rep and offered a free trip to one of their resorts if we went to a sales presentation. When we arrived for our stay, we learned that we were not given access to the resort as originally promised, but that we were staying at a motel down the street. This is just where the lies began! The meeting that we needed to attend lasted MORE THAN NINE HOURS, all the while our children were sitting in a childcare that they had provided. What kind of vacation experience is that??
At one point, near the end, we asked if we could stop the process as we were having second thoughts. Their staff told us that this was not possible because the contracts had already been prepared and mostly signed. Now, we have learned that we had a 10-day cancellation period allowed by Tennessee law. These people knowingly deceived us into keeping this contract!! Do not trust anything that they say. They are all a bunch of liars. We now are saddled with this debt that we did not want and attempted to cancel within the legal time period to do so, which is a violation of our rights and Tennessee law.

My husband and I were introduced to Bluegreen vacations through Bass Pro Shop. It seemed like a decent deal so we went for it and got a 3 night 4day stay for $250. We used it this past weekend in Vegas. The set up was nice. We had a full kitchen 2 bathrooms a master bedroom and a living room area. They also had a washer and dryer. The room was good but we knew part of the deal was to attend a presentation which should have been a few hours. It was scheduled at 2pm. We arrived early. Checked in. They assign a sales rep prior to going back with the group. She was nice and very personable. Asked us general questions about family etc..
So we go back with all of the people who attended this promo. We were all obviously aware this was a sales pitch. They had a lady explain who they are, the history of the company, how great and how many awards they recommend every year yada yada.. So this takes about an hr then we meet with the sales rep after and go straight into the details. I’m not an easy person to sell so I just listened. Ask questions. They pretty much create a vacation package for you based on points rather than days like a timeshare. It made sense until they hit us with the quote. Of course they try to sell you on the largest package which starts at $46k. I knew instantly I wasn’t interested so they kept coming back at us and lowering the price including all these great add ons and discounts. The head sales guy comes in and tries to really sell you on it.
So after about another 2hrs I’m over it. I keep telling them, No. I’m not interested. Thank you for your time," and he’s still pushing. He went from nice guys to wise guy and I can see he was taking it personal so he gets the big boss to come in and close and I stick with my gut instinct and tell him no. The other guy comes back with the original sales lady and she’s giving us a pity party about this package and the guy goes, "They said no. Get them out of here and give them their free gifts." I was starving and quite frankly annoyed with these people but after reading other people's reviews I’m so glad I did not sign up for the **.
Overall it was a place to sleep. We were rarely in our room and when we did decide to hit up the pool it was dirty and the hot tub was heavily chlorinated it was burning my eyes and I realized when I got out there was bubbles with brown gunk gathered in the corner of the hot tub. I immediately went back to my room to shower. Use your best judgment and don’t let anyone pressure you into buying. We will not return to this place.

I booked this vacation to Myrtle Beach for me & my fiance birthdays. Both our Birthday are in August. I was booked to stay at River Oaks "Resort" not on my on accord but by Bluegreen Vacations. Check in the was 4PM. We arrived about 5:30PM and was told that our unit wasn't ready or cleaned yet. We asked, "How long would it be? Could we get an estimate of what time?" The guy at the front desk (who had on shades the whole time and was clearly high off his butt) told us he didn't know when it would be ready and had no idea of how long we would have to wait. We decided to go shopping to waste time. We came back about 7:30 and was told our unit was ready by the same guy.
We opened the door to the unit to find food on the tables and still in the fridge, no sheets on the beds! Towels and linens piled up on the floor, dirty bathrooms, etc. It was clear this unit had never been cleaned!!! We go back to the front desk. By this time he's gone for the day. We call the emergency maintenance to see if we can get housekeeping to clean. The emergency maintenance doesn't respond. Now it's about 9:00PM. We decided, "We're not going to get through to anyone so let's go buy cleaning supplies and clean the place ourselves." When we get back with the cleaning supplies, I realize I forgot the paper with the code to the front door inside the unit, so now we're locked out!!!
Again we commence to calling the "24hr" maintenance number. No one ever called us back. We had to spend $400 on 1 night at a hotel in the area because we couldn't get back into the unit we rented!! The next morning I spoke to the manager Jeff ** who was apologetic but that's about it, he gave no real excuse as to why his manager wouldn't reimburse us for our night at the hotel even though we showed him the receipt and multiple attempts to reach maintenance!! Overall this was a horrible experience and I would NEVER recommend this place!

We were first approached by Bluegreen at Bass Pro Shop. They offered gift cards in exchange for going to a presentation. If we had known it would have been FOUR hours of being lied to and manipulated, we would have never gone. They made booking vacations seem effortless, gave us a great “one time deal” before prices increased, and went on about the VALUE of owning a timeshare. When we went over the numbers, we found a package that seemed manageable for our budget. Unfortunately, now we are stuck because they never disclosed the maintenance fee cost, interest, or any other associated fees.
We THOUGHT we’d be paying $14k over a 10-year period. Not dealing with a complete financial burden. Then after learning about how much we were really paying (ALMOST DOUBLE), and had difficulties making reservations, we found that we can book the same properties online for MUCH cheaper. This company has been the worst. How can such a large company get away with lying and pressuring people like they do. Our suggestion is to stay away from Bluegreen, and maybe even Bass Pro Shop since they are in bed together.

My husband and I were shopping at Bass Pro Shops when we were approached by a Bluegreen representative and offered a trip to Branson. The resort had a ton of amenities that our children would love, so we agreed to go and attend the “short” sales presentation. This presentation involved the sales staff showing us pictures of different packages that could be available to us. When my husband told the staff that we would review the information and call back in the morning, the meeting went from being pleasant and friendly, to very intimidating. The sales staff started telling us that this was not an option and that we would be absolutely crazy not to purchase immediately. After several hours of this type of psychological intimidation, with our kids stuck in the hotel room waiting for us, we felt like we had to give in and buy!
We had been told that the resorts were private and for owners use only, that we were making a real estate investment that our children would inherit and reap the benefits, and that the maintenance fees would remain relatively consistent. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE! We have since learned that the resorts are EASIER to book as non-owners (and cheaper), the maintenance fees increase exponentially every year, and THE ONLY TIME we manage to book is when they want us to attend another presentation and spend more money! We’ve already spent thousands and have nothing to show for in return…this is a total scam!!!

The downfall is you are able to rent these places on Airbnb, etc. I didn’t know that until after I bought into it. Not to mention this has costed me $14,000 plus 16.9% interest. Two weeks I went on vacation w/ my family and was told the $14k worth of points I bought is now useless. I’m not able to use my points anymore. I have no idea what that means and how I paid so much money plus $860.00 per year for club dues and maintenance fees.
I was told everything under the sun to buy. I’ve paid an additional $400 to $500 plus for the rooms by using bonus points because my $14k in points I purchased will get me 2 days in 2 years not 2 wks vacation every year like they promised. I was transferred to Bluegreen after confirming my reservation with a Choice Hotel. They were not upfront about the promo being a timeshare, but I figured that out after listening to the pitch. Every time I said no, the sales guy found a way to increase the benefit and also decrease the price (by throwing in a gift card you receive on arrival). He was really personable, hard to say no to. My husband dreads these promos and refuses to attend such sales presentations, but somehow I was talked into putting $199 on my card, knowing that I had 30 days to back out. Since then, we have been recruited to accept a foreign exchange student last minute. Also, given the latest refugee crisis, we want to spend more money donating rather than on travel.
Last night I planned on calling (within the 30 day window) to cancel and request a refund. I was discouraged to read the fine print and discover that the only way to get a refund is to request it in writing, which "must be received" within 30 days (tomorrow, in my case). Also, after reading so many poor reviews on this site, there is NO WAY I want to even think of showing up for a sales presentation, or waste money on flights to go to any "resort" only to be put up in a Choice Hotel. All that said, getting a refund was easy by phone. Contrary to the fine print in the terms of my confirmation (and on the Bluegreen website), no written request is necessary.
I was going to just count it my loss, until I read a recent review (August 3rd) by a woman mentioning she got a refund by calling the reservation line. So I called a few minutes ago, and within moments was approved for a refund back to my credit card within 5 business days. Really great rep, no questions asked. The cancellation policy in the terms is deceptive, claiming a letter must be mailed to Orlando and received within the 30 day window. Equally deceptive is the fact that this is never mentioned in the phone sales pitch. The good news is, apparently they don't hold people to the fine print. Just call!

In July, at an ownership follow up presentation, we asked the sales rep if at this point, it was possible to use the money we had paid for the transfer to put towards our mortgage or maintenance fees since THEY WERE NOT GIVING ME WHAT I PAID FOR. The sales rep spoke with a manager and came back and said it could be done but we had to call owner services/mortgage. Both my fiancé and I have called MULTIPLE TIMES starting the week after we were told this could be done.
I was told by a CSR the first time that this could be done and I would be getting the email to complete what I now wanted to do with the money, that day and nothing! So I called back the next day and talked to a different CSR who told me there were no notes left by the rep I spoke to the day before and from their knowledge, what I wanted to do, couldn’t be done. So I proceeded to speak with a supervisor who then told me they would open a case for it to get it taken care of on 7/23. They also said it was would take 7-14 business days to have that done.

He pitched this super discounted vacation that let me choose from seven destinations, and I thought it was going to be a perfect babymoon getaway before my second child will be born. The only catch was that I had to attend this 2-hours-long presentation about the Bluegreen membership, but the salesperson said it will be very a low-pressure environment. I purchased the three nights at Wisconsin Dells for $149, with the promise of $125 SIMON mall amex gift card (so I can stay for practically $24).

The idea of having to sit through an aggressive sales pitch for 5 hours with my toddler sounded like a nightmare that is not worth my time. Besides, when I saw the booking confirmation it had almost $60 of "taxes and fees" on top of the $145 that the salesperson failed to mention. I immediately called customer service (855-612-5203) and canceled the trip. Yes, you CAN cancel the trip after purchasing it and get a full refund as long as you have more than two weeks before your trip. Overall, I think this is a deceitful business practice that is very disrespectful of people's time. I would not recommend wasting your time on this offer.

I bought a timeshare through Bluegreen in 1985. I own it and it is paid off. We pay our maintenance fee that increases every year. We also pay fees to change resorts and pay fees to deposit weeks if we do not travel. When we signed up in 1985 we bought week 42 at Orlando Sunshine Resort. On my deed it has a unit number and everything. Every year when we go to travel there is a problem because they want us to pay thousands of dollars to covert to a point system instead of our week system. We are happy with our week and we just pay to transfer to a different week of we want.
This year we called in July to book for next March and they told us nothing in Orlando, Kissimmee, or anywhere in the area is avaliable. Our week that we own in October is also not available. How is that possible? We are trying to book 15 months ahead of time! We are supposed to "own" that room for that week! They pretty much told me we are out of luck. We already paid our fee. We are in good standing. There are just not rooms avaliable in Orlando or the surrounding area that are 2 bedrooms that are in our week or April or May. They are not willing to work with us and will not deposit the week for us because there are no open rooms for them to deposit. It doesn't make sense to me!

My husband and I were approached in Bass Pro Shops, and coerced into planning a vacation to Virginia, as we were promised a $100 gift card that could be redeemed that day and another $100 card at the end of the presentation. They said the presentation would last 45 minutes, but it turned into 5 hours of high-pressure sales tactics, deception, lies, and misrepresentation! Bluegreen Vacations are con artists’ taking peoples hard earned money!
The initial part of the presentation was about 30 minutes, but that was not it, we now had to have a conversation with a salesperson. He was nice, but aren’t they all when they want you to buy? The first offer was outrageous, and we immediately declined, 5 times they lowered the price going back and forth with the sales manager. No one mentioned when they lower the price, they lower the package so basically the first offer with all these “GREAT” benefits was no longer on the table, but we didn’t know that.
Finally, the sales manager sat with us, and offered free points and 2 week-long vacations while in the same breath calling us stupid if we didn’t take the deal that day! All the “free” points we were offered to close the deal were never given to us and the free trip we took turned into another aggressive sales pitch. We’re still not sure what it is that we are paying for, and how to use it and we are simply FED UP! This “investment” as they referred to it, has been nothing but a money pit!

I'm literally only giving this company 1 star because you have to put at least 1 to leave a review. We fell for this scam in the outlet mall. They make you believe you are going to be staying in a nice resort as long as you do the time share tour. We'll that's a complete lie. Once you pay for it and go to book, they put you in a odd brand HOTEL not their RESORT. If you want to stay in their resort they try to charge an addition $100+ to "upgrade". The people they have working their kiosk in malls just want to make a quick dollar and will sell you complete lies. Do yourself a favor, save your money. Do not fall for it!

However, every time I have to sit in on a 'review' and I continue to tell them I can't afford more points. After sitting there for 1-1/2 and them running my credit, they come back and say sorry! I have also had the same treatment when ordering. After twice asking for ocean view rooms and looking at air conditioners, then they tell me they can't do multiple rooms with ocean views.... At the first presentation of Bluegreen, my wife and I saw the value of Bluegreen timeshare. The value was not in the points or the discounts, or even the above standard accommodations. The value is in the charter membership. Being a member and having points allows you to book your destination far in advance. However, when you get closer to your actual stay, switch over using bonus time privileges provided by your charter membership. This allows you to book, save your points and get rooms costing the public 200-400 dollars for $79. Bluegreen also offers discounts on cruises, adventure destinations, RCI, and Choice Hotels. But be cautious. Bluegreen is not for everyone. If you do not regularly vacation, buying a membership in Bluegreen will not change that. And you will end up writing Bluegreen a bad review.
If however, you and your family vacation often, vacation for relaxation, vacation for experiences, or just vacation for regeneration. As long as you currently vacation often, Bluegreen is definitely for you. As an example, in the first 12 months we owned Bluegreen, we racked up 21 stays. We are constantly adding points to our membership. We have passed it on to our children as they grow up and leave the nest. And from time to time we all meet up together at one of many Bluegreen destinations. If you are considering timeshare, think of it like buying a truck. Don't buy a truck in hopes of hauling something. Buy your truck when you need it. Bluegreen is the best. We have had the rest. Now we only have Bluegreen. I hope this review clears up a few misconceptions about timeshare and especially Bluegreen.

Do yourself a favor and don’t give in to this scam!! Honestly this deserves negative stars. Sure, they make it sound like a dream vacation on a bargain, but in reality it’s a joke, a scam…a nightmare. First off, on the phone call they don’t tell you everything you need to know to qualify for the scam to at least enjoy it in case you give in (which we shouldn’t have done, but that’s why we’re here to tell you). My s/o wasn’t able to make it because of work, so I wanted to enjoy the available time of this “vacation” with the kids, but failed to do so on the first day. This was only the first of three vacations they pushed us to sign up for and maybe now looking at it, a blessing in disguise. I went to attend the meeting (fyi it was at 3pm, dead middle of the day) and they disqualified me from continuing the vacation “deals” because my s/o wasn’t here, WHICH THEY DIDNT TELL US ABOUT THE “REQUIREMENTS” IN ADVANCE.
Not only this, but they wanted to charge me $200 more for the remaining night in addition to what I had already paid. I had to talk to the manager over the phone because the front desk refused to further discuss the situation. I was fumed and enraged at the way this “vacation” was dealt with. I decided to cancel the remaining night and receive some of the additional credit I had to pay for my s/o’s absence and leave the resort early the next morning and shorten our vacation plans. ONCE AGAIN DO NOT BUY BLUEGREEN! AVOID THIS WITH A TEN FOOT POLE.

I started getting calls from Bluegreen when a co-worker shared my information after she had attended a sales presentation. They offered us a free trip to Orlando, complete with discounted Disney tickets, so we gave in and agreed to attend their presentation. When we arrived, we were in the one-hour presentation for over four hours! This is just where the lies began. Every time we declined to make a purchase from one of their sales staff, we were told that there was a better price or a greater discount that could be offered. We were told that we were investing into real estate.
We were not aware that they were opening a credit card WITHOUT OUR CONSENT with an interest rate of 16%! Not surprisingly, we were not shown any truth in lending documents which covers the amount you are financing, the interest rate and the total amount you end up paying. We weren’t told about the cooling-off period which would have allowed us to cancel this fraudulent transaction or shown a public offering statement. It honestly never ends! We have gotten ourselves into an enormous amount of debt trying to get use of what they sold us. We have had nothing but difficulty trying to book a reservation & this has only caused us headaches.
When we agreed to purchase, the Bluegreen salespeople pressured us to open 2 high interest credit cards for the down payment. They failed to disclose annual maintenance fees that would continue to increase every year. They didn’t inform us of the cancellation period if we change our mind, which we would have definitely taken advantage of. Booking fees, RCI fees and all these fees were never disclosed. They misrepresented that this was a real estate purchase and that the value would increase over time and that we were buying into a private resort club that wasn’t available to the general public. At this meeting, we were told that this was a way for us to save a significant amount on future vacations and that we could pass this on to our family so that they would be able to receive these continuous benefits. When we finally used this membership for the first time, we were appalled by the quality of the rooms. The room was outdated, not maintained, had concrete flooring – it was NOTHING like what we had been shown during the sales presentation!
When we mentioned this to the staff, all they did was clean the room and bring in fresh flowers. While appreciated, there was no offer to move us to a room that was what we had been told to expect. We brought this up at the owners meeting and were told that upgrading our membership would solve this problem. NOT TRUE! Throughout their pitch they tried to sell us on owner benefits & exclusivity which we have come to learn are all lies to get their owners to upgrade. If you find yourself unhappy with how hard it is to book a stay (like us) they always try to sell you on a BIGGER & BETTER program which will “solve your problems”. There was some soft pressure, but we wanted what they had to offered, but at a price we could afford. It is important to be exceedingly patient and make sure you understand your wants and needs before you go into the sales weekend. It all looks a little better than reality, but this is true of most any of these services. We used the sampler package to test the system with a trip to Disney World. It worked great. We used their samplier discount to buy a modest share in WI.
We have used it in different ways and find the whole thing to be about what we expected. They are always super helpful on the phone. The key is to ask questions, seek advice from their employees (always very helpful), and do things well in advance. We recommended it to our family and others are considering joining us on this venture. All-in-all, I would do it again. I do secretly wonder if I can sell this property down the road and get my money back. This review is only 3-years into using BlueGreen. In short, they are big enough to be useful, and helpful enough to keep me happy. After this, we were seated with a sales agent who continued to explain to us how ownership with Bluegreen worked and all the places that we could visit. I was confused as to how timeshare worked, but instead of answering my questions, the sales agent just talked in circles and pressured me into making a purchase before I left that day. I was told that by purchasing a Florida property, I would have a real estate investment that would not only be available to me whenever I wanted to travel, but it would continue to increase in value.
I was also told that this purchase would allow my children and grandchildren could vacation for the rest of their lives. I was never told that they would have to inherit this debt, and the never-ending maintenance fees to even have the chance to experience this! Since that day, I have been told that I needed to attend three different presentations, sold to me as owner updates, where I have been further pressured into additional purchases. Our offers were switched twice while in the one on one with them and when I asked for the one we agreed to - no one could find it (the person who offered it was gone for the day). Lesson learned for us - we should have gotten up and walked out the door right then.
We purchased the sampler package in November and in February already regretted it because we aren't allowed to book the property where we told them we wanted, due to blackout dates! These blackout dates prevent us from using our points that we already paid for for THREE months this year, including the time frame we explicitly told them we wanted to go to.
When I jumped on line today to book our family vacation for our daughter's 21 birthday, I discovered we needed to select a different property, so I called in asking for some help. The customer service rep on the phone was HORRIBLE - she told us we could stay at a resort 1 hour & 45 minutes (one way) from where we need to be on our vacation and drive back & forth every day - WTHeck? In her words "it's not that far"... What kind of solution is that??? I can tell you - a horrible one at best. Her next solution was to book the property we wanted at a different time of year - did she even listen when I told her we are coming down for a family vacation to celebrate a 21st birthday??
Do NOT spend money with this company. We are so thankful we did not sign up for a point package and get stuck with them, FOREVER. Since purchasing we have discovered a world of "owners" who are not happy with this company and can not get out of their contract and have not been able to sell because not enough people want to own here.
Our business will most definitely be going to a competitor!! Hello Disney resort - I would much rather pay too much for overpriced accommodations and know the place wanted my business than deal with Bluegreen. We also won't have to drive 1 hour & 45 minutes (one way) every day to go to the parks, with a toddler and pre-schooler.

However... as we try out other places in their version of the JC Penney catalog, the accommodations at Harbour Lights in Myrtle Beach, SC were not nice. There are spiders hanging everywhere and I'm terribly afraid of spiders. Maintenance did absolutely nothing to remove them. Also when we went there again to give it one more chance this Thanksgiving 2020, we were not treated well. We had a bug in one of our dish cupboards and they poo-pooed it away as a Palmetto bug and said there's nothing they can do. Ummmm... we don't live in a third world country! Of course there's something they could do! They don't care! They got their commission. That is the only thing they care about!!
This is the main issue we have with Bluegreen: we have been lied to about them helping us refinance our two properties. "Andrew" and "Tracy " promised to help us with the whole refinancing process, Andrew gave us his "personal number", promised to help us pick out the emails to best refinance with and somehow... they both are mysteriously "unavailable " after trying to call them. And we have emailed others only to have them lie to us and claim that our email will be forwarded to their managers and marketing supervisors. Nope! Also, Andrew pretended to be interested in our vacation and the places we were going to go visit but has not talked to us since.
I have read all the other reviews here and I dont know how these guys, these liars, these scam artists even clear their conscience knowing they lie to people every day, face to face, (which is brazenly ballsy) and it doesn't even bother them! They will not help unless it's to throw you a small bone, put a Bandaid on the putrifying wound that is Bluegreen by offering a useless certificate or give you a gift card. The places we wish to stay are always unavailable unless we want to pay extra fees. And the maintenance fees always go up because they high pressure you into accepting their lie so they can earn their commission and sell you more "points" (another property, another set of maintenance fees). Their lying staff is mysteriously "unavailable "?? Mmmmhmmm. The meetings end up taking away from your vacation time and we ended up missing time to go to an attraction we really wanted to spend time at. They don't care!!
I will NEVER EVER go to one of their high pressure meetings again! And will not attend any other type of meeting unless it is to refinance and lower our payment like they promised. LIARS!!! SCAMMERS! They offer a few places for you to select from and don't tell you that there is a chance the hotel may not be available. You find out when you initiate contact with them because you have yet to receive a confirmation. That's when they explain the process and tell you that they can provide 100% hotel confirmation with an upgrade at one of their sites for extra money. Pretty sneaky. Not worth the aggravation!!!!

In 2008 we attended a presentation as part of a vacation package. Multiple times during the presentation I stated we could not afford a timeshare. The employees constantly badgered us- harassing us until my husband relented. After 12 years, nearly $10,000 in maintenance fees and NEVER having used the timeshare, I am finally getting out. Essentially I have to "give" the timeshare (fully paid BTW) back to Bluegreen. The service representative who is "handling the case" said there was no fee for this "service". There is most definitely a fee. Please read on.
A few notes- within 3 days of the purchase, I called and told BG I did not want the timeshare. Legally that is within my rights. They refused to cancel. Three years ago I asked for the process to start for giving the timeshare back to BG...They said it wasn't possible. I have been persistent and finally this year I am hoping to get the situation resolved.
I started calling and emailing back in September. BG has been dragging their feet until today, when I finally reached a live person. Of course, now I have to pay the $908 in maintenance fees to be "clear of any debt". Had they responded in September I would not have to pay. This company preys on people. Even in a year when vacations were not possible for nearly 6 months- they still want their money. I asked why and was told it was for "future upgrades". If I want out NOW, why should I be paying for future upgrades? PLEASE be warned. DO NOT purchase from this company. There are more people who regret this decision than those who benefit.

One of our biggest regrets is agreeing to Bluegreen’s survey and their “free” trip. At the presentation, we made it clear we could not afford a purchase with them and didn’t vacation often enough to justify it. However, as soon as we mentioned our daughter’s upcoming wedding, it was like blood in the water for ravenous sharks. They lunged at the opportunity to exploit our soft spot, offering a great honeymoon experience. My husband and I still vehemently refused a purchase that made no sense to us, but the salespeople and their manager would not budge. Due to my husband’s PTSD, we felt no choice but to purchase just so we could leave. Presently, we are now stuck with a timeshare we can’t use. We have attempted to get Bluegreen to take it back, but they ignore our communication. Learn from our stressful ordeal and don’t buy a timeshare with Bluegreen.

I have been a Bluegreen owner for several years now and my experience is getting worse every year. I have paid handsomely to earn points. I earn a set of points for a two year period; however, after the first year, I have to PAY A FEE to keep my earned points the second year. Why? The annual MAINTENANCE FEES are so high now that I could pay for a nice resort room for a week with NO Bluegreen.
You have to move quickly to book a room or they all are gone. When I book, I must PAY A FEE to get my points back if I have to move my date or cancel. Last month, we went to Branson, MO for a week. They put us in a nice room; however, they were remodeling the floor above us and the constant noise was insane. Now why would they do that to a customer? Anyway, we talked to the manager, who was nice, and got moved to another room. (That is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one.) At the end of the week, I took the key cards to the desk, only to be told that there is a RESORT FEE upon checkout! WHAT??? Just more FREE money to hand over to them just because they could. The verdict is in: BLUEGREEN IS ONE OF THE TOP 10 MISTAKES OF MY LIFE!

We had booked a 5 day stay at the Hammocks in Marathon Key. We are premier owners so we called the resort and asked for an upgrade. Asked them if no upgrade is available can we please have a water view room. So we check in and we have a view of a storage lot. It's all good. We know everyone can't have a water view room. The next day we're sitting by pool talking with another guest who were there on bonus time, they had checked in the same day as us. And had been given a water view room. We used our points to book the room 9 months ago, they used bonus time. So we asked to talk to the manager.
He (Dallas) called me the next day. I told him my concerns. His response was not everyone gets a water view. I explained we were using points and should have gotten the better room. But he still stated not everyone gets a view. I told him my review would reflect my feelings. His response was all the reviews come to him. Next I get an email from Bluegreen stating they read my review and their response team would get in touch with me quickly. Well it's been 8 days since I received that email. I've sent 2 more emails to them. Heard nothing back. I feel like Bluegreen has let me down on this matter. And we're very disappointed in not getting a response.

We've been Bluegreen members for 15 years and have had Travelers Plus, which is like an extra membership program that allows you to have exclusive things that you don't get in the regular membership. Well, apparently our Travelers plus expired in 2018. I didn't think it was a big deal that it expired because I could just renew it, but I guess it is, and I guess you can't! If you don't renew it within a certain time frame you cannot get the membership again unless you buy more property. I didn't even realize that was their policy. It's a terrible policy. I am so disappointed that I would have to buy more property in order to just have a freaking $40 membership... Buying more property would cost us thousands. Why would we do that? It's just bad business, in my opinion. And so for the first time in my ownership life I am writing a bad review, because I had no idea this terrible policy existed, and as an owner I feel like I should have been made aware of this.

Terrible company. Signed up years ago and became a platinum owner. Then the rules started to change. Limited the number of stays at a resort, unlimited cancellations was abolished. And now wait list requests are basically not honored until less than 11 months out, after midnight. So you have to compete with all owners to get the reservation you want. I would suggest to all owners never to upgrade to a higher level, benefits periodically will disappear.

They went up on the price to save points and when we purchased we were told you could convert your points to Choice Hotels "and stay anywhere there's a Choice Hotel" and you got 4 choice points for every 1 Bluegreen point. Now it's only 2 and you still have to pay the same price! They also only block out a certain amount of rooms for members and save the rest for walk-in paying people. That they can't discuss what the sales representative told us because they were not the ones who sold it to me, the rep did. They also told me that maintenance fees would remain the same throughout the years and not go up, yet they go up each year. The terms that are actually contained in the timeshare contract are different than the terms promised to us at the time we bought. We got nothing that was promised. They said the water park was closed and they didn’t give that out as gifts. Ok then why promise them? We only received one voucher for two adults. Why would adults go to Disney alone, the whole purpose was to take our children. Now what do we tell them? They painted the picture so beautifully but didn’t explain what we were actually purchasing. This is a great deal for people who live on the eastern side of the US as all the Bluegreen resorts are located there. We live on the other side in California and get access to the “INNS”.
We tried cancelling our purchase on our last day of the time we were given. Of course we can’t control mail. They got our letter two weeks later and said they could not cancel for us. My family has stayed with friends at the resorts Bluegreen owns, and were never disappointed with the accommodations. Sadly, I can't say the same about their marketing department. My husband and I, lured by the promise of a free 7 night stay, went to their presentation. Only after going home and registering the trip did it all go wrong. I expected the $100 deposit. Even the "resort fees" of 18-25 per night at the resort. What I didn't expect was to be charged another $120 ON TOP OF THE OTHER AMOUNTS for the trip. And this is just for 4 days, not the whole 7 day trip. Then, at the end, I'm contacted by YET ANOTHER VENDOR, saying I have to go to the welcome center to get my hotel voucher and attend ANOTHER PRESENTATION on day 2 of our trip!!!!
And I have called dozens of phone numbers to complain about being lied to at every step, but it's always SOMEONE ELSE'S PROBLEM. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM if they offer you a free 7 night trip. I didn't even care that the stay wasn't at the resort, but I DEFINITELY don't like being lied to. I have spoken to countless people at Bluegreen and the departments that handle these vouchers and all they do is pass the buck to someone else. Don’t go unless you can handle a high pressure sales experience. We stayed 5 days four nights at the fountains in Orlando Florida. We had a beautiful 2 bedroom condo they upsold me prior to arrival. An extra 140.00. We paid 199.00 for the original package. The condo was clean and the entire property was nice. My issues were the water in the building smelled bad. Much like sewage. I refrained from showers the last two days. I used bottled water to wash and brush my teeth. I would not use the water to cook or for any purpose other than flushing a toilet. The last night the water was turned off during the night for repair so it wasn’t my imagination. Super nasty!
Next was the bites I have on my leg. Not sure what bit me but I suffered three bites on my left leg at night. Not bed bugs. Bites were big. My leg is swollen and bite areas are red. This created a trip to an walk in medical office. When checking out I filled out a report with BlueGreen security. They took photos of bite marks however did not offer to cover expenses of dr visit.
The worst part was the two hour presentation that was actually 3 hours. This was by far the worst presentation I have ever experienced. I was in the professional sales field for many years. The pitch was ridiculous. They even brought out their children’s pictures to try to develop a friendship with us. Again awkward. They tag teamed us with three separate people. I was pressured and almost guilted into buying. I did NOT purchase. I stood my ground but it wasn’t easy. They are sharks. They say no high pressure sales, so I threw that back at them. The rep I was working with brought In the big guy to push. Again No thank you. In the end they were not so nice. Felt like a heal walking out. My chest was heavy and the stress was unbelievable. On January 2 at 5:07 pm MST, Julie from Bluegreen marketing called me and offered me a $100.00 credit discount off my maintenance fees if I scheduled a new owner update conference before January 31, 2020. I booked the conference for January 28, 2020 and attended it onsite at their Cibola Vista resort at 12:30 pm MST. The following week I requested the $100.00 credit be applied to my account. I still have not received that credit and I have paid two payments toward my $714.30 balance. First payment made for $300.00 on 1/7/2020. I advised them I would pay the remaining balance after I seen that Bluegreen made good on their promise to apply the $100.00 credit off my maintenance fees.
To date they still have not applied that credit, so in view of their threats I paid the difference $314.30 on 2/15/2020 and advised I am still waiting for my $100.00 credit to be applied which would zero out any remaining balance. I spoke to Keisha from Bluegreen who is researching this on 2/18/2020 and she advised she would remove any late fees/charges billed to my account. To date nothing has been done by Bluegreen in regards to their promises. No credit has been applied and no late fees have been removed. At this time I am filing a claim in Arizona small claims court as my recorded call with Julie on 1/2/2020 at 5:07 pm MST. does prove I had a verbal/oral contract and promise to be credited $100.00 towards my maintenance fees for just booking that New Owner conference by January 31st 2020.
I have fulfilled my end of the oral contract and now (as I had a feeling Bluegreen would lie to me on the phone), I must continuously wait for Bluegreen to fulfill their end of the bargain! This is exactly the reason why I did not want to pay my entire maintenance fee balance as they would have never credited me back as promised the $100.00 maintenance fee credit! It was a test I conducted for all remaining Bluegreen owners out there as I am paying the ultimate sacrifice a threat against my credit for a past due balance of $100.00 and a forfeiture of all my owner privileges but you know it was worth the effort to expose these thieves!
Plus it just fortified my decision to sell off all my holdings with Bluegreen and that is in the process today as I have listed it with Pinnacle Vacations for a third of what I paid for it as that demonstrates how BADLY I want out of this ridiculously priced timeshare scheme! In addition the $100.00 dine in credits they give you while staying at their resorts are a joke as most of the restaurants are over 10 to 15 miles away from their properties! Another joke to attempt to coax vacationers! We got pitched at the AZ State Fair for a 3 night trip to Vegas + a family trip for 2 days Disney + tickets to a show in Vegas with no taxes involved. The only thing we had to do was attend a 2 hour presentation in Vegas. So we took this offer. Day 1, So we show up at Bluegreen Club 36 is Las Vegas. As we're checking in, a lady is checking out. They ask her how her stay was and she responds that it wasn't that great. They ask if there was anything they could do and she just told them that she put it on the survey.
We checked in at 4. Had to provide a credit card for any damages to the room. We found that the room 336A had stains in the carpet, stains on the furniture, food debris and hair in the bed and was extremely dusty. We notified the front desk and were moved to a smaller room facing the parking lot (331B). This room had less stains but also had food debris in the microwave. The front desk sent someone up to clean it up. Having to move rooms was extremely frustrating and hindered our plans for that night and made us almost miss a show we bought tickets for. We came back that night and found more food under the place mats on table.
Day 2, the fan in the bedroom would not turn on. We notified the front desk and they said they would send someone up. We attended the required preview. The salesperson, Heidi, was straight business and could barely remember our names. We attempted to explain our experience about the room but were pushed more sales numbers. It seemed that the whole sales pitch was explained around an unobtainable 20000 point system and the final push was to get us to sign on for a lower number that would only be usable every other year. Questioning her on some of the details resulted in vague responses or switching from my partner to me and vice versa. Heidi also managed to pop a mouth sore while she was talking to us. She then touched several doors and elevator buttons while showing us around as she dabbed her lip with a paper towel.
When Heidi brought her manager over for the final pitch. I explained the situation with the room and that I could not see myself signing up for this given the issues with the rooms and that I had not yet seen another resort or gotten what we were promised. When they took us to get our "gift", I watched a presentation attendee say something to the presenter as he was walking by and watched him answer and then roll his eyes in annoyance of the attendees question as he walked away.
When we got our "gift", we found that it was not what we were promised. When we were stopped at the AZ State Fair, we were told we would be getting 3 nights in Vegas + a show + a family trip for 4 and 2 day tickets to our choice of Disneyland or Disney World. The pitch was because they were sure they had a great product and that's why they were willing to give 2 vacations for the price of one. We were given 2 nights for 2 people with 1 day tickets through Casablanca Express. This was a voucher that required an extra $100 to be sent through snail mail. We kind of expected something like this to occur because it did sound too good to be true.
We walked back to our room after the preview. To our shock, it was 90 degrees in our room. The thermostat was set to 73 but the heat kept going. The room and hallway also had a strong smell ** and the fan in the bedroom was still not fixed. So we went back downstairs and they sent up a handyman. The handyman found that the cord to the fan needed to be pulled away from the fan and pulled harder to turn it on. He also shut off the heat from inside the heater since the thermostat was not shutting it off.
He told us that he also smelled the ** through the hallway and that it was probably coming from the neighbors and that we should report them. He suggested we request another room as he was not sure the heat would work properly without further work. So we did and moved rooms for a second time. Again, rearranging/abandoning our plans to do so. Our 3rd room (448B) was dusty, had a broken clip in the microwave and the alarm clock was missing from as well. I found out that the plugs got shut off by the light switches. So we couldn't charge a phone in the bedroom while we slept. We notified the front desk but did not move rooms as this was minor compared to the previous 2 experiences.
Day 3 and room 3. We find that the refrigerator in the room has leaked water onto the floor, so we put towels down so that it did not reach the carpet. We went down and maintenance was sent up while we went out. We came back to the room around 2/3 AM and found the card of the handyman on the kitchen table. We went to bed because we were extremely tired from walking. I woke up and found that the handyman had just unplugged the refrigerator, leaving our ice packs and drinks to get warm just in time for our drive home. Since it was our checkout day, we notified the front desk about our experience and left. Dealing with the rooms took a major toll on our enjoyment of our time in Las Vegas. Not getting what we were pitched at the AZ State Fair was also disappointing.
After leaving a review about both the sales pitch and the experience with their "resort". I was contacted by 2 different managers who apologized and stated that our experience was not in line with how they operate as a company, they'll notify the cleaning staff manager, and that know they have a great product. That's it. Nothing saying they'll even attempt to make things right.
Upon further inspection of our Disney "gift" voucher, I did a search for the company that runs the voucher (since it isn't Bluegreen). It's another scam as well with people getting stuck in 2-star roach motels 35 miles away from Disney and then finding that the Disney tickets are invalid upon reaching the entrance gate. We weren't about to send them $100 (in deposits and taxes) in a snail mail scam. Especially since a voucher for another company is not what we were pitched at the fair. Their guy at the fair told us that they had a property in Orlando that we'd be staying at. All lies. Stay away from Bluegreen. This is the standard, not the exception.

2. I could not get into my new account nor book with my new points.
3. Three months from the time I purchased points, I was charged maintenance fees for the new points which was not mentioned in closing.
After a long frustrating month of numerous calls, messages left for (Angel) and calling other departments etc. being told it was up to the discretion of the sales manager, and a list of the extra hoops I must jump through to get the accounts combined etc. I called one of the resorts, they transferred me to sales. I refused to leave yet another message and I continued on hold for over an hour to speak with a sales manager (Angel). Angel insisted the proper administrator (Tammorra) would clear this up and call me. Tammorra did get the accounts combined with in a few days.
Because of all of the run around, I was not able to get the week that I wanted because it was not available by the time this was straightened out. Approximately three months from the time I purchased points, BG combined my points, and charged me maintenance fees for the new points. (Not mentioned when purchasing.) The contract states "#8 You are obligated to pay a prorated maintenance fee and club dues in connection with your purchase. Maintenance fees are calculated based on the number of vacation points allocated to your purchase. Maintenance fees and club dues will be billed annually, one month prior to your owner use year." My owner year is not for another 8 months.
Again I made calls and left messages that were not returned. Because of this I could not book online until I paid the new fees, again missing a trip that we wanted to take. Finally, I was able to get someone at the reservation office to over ride so I could book an extra night with a previous reservation. After several attempts, I happened to call at a time Tammorra was in the office. She contacted Todd **, whom called me to try to clarify the issue, but all he could do was reiterate #8 as stated above.
So bottom line. Once I was able to speak with BG personnel they were all very polite and respectful. But they sell you the points, you pay a down payment, and set up payment plan. Then you get a bill 30 - 45 days later, which blocks you from using the points until you pay maintenance fees that you were not aware you would have until your anniversary date which is 12 months later. This is like purchasing a vacation home and told you can’t move in until you pay additional fees, which will be billed in 30-45 days. If they were not trying to deceive you, why not tell you the day of purchase you owe x amount for maintenance fees on top of what you are paying before you can take advantage of your points? Or give you the option to include any fees in the original transaction?

Was purchased for the package at the Tampa outlet. When I got there that day of the presentation, the **, a little heavier lady at the front service desk asked me and my wife if we can speak English. I can speak very well and my wife can a little (a little enough to speak but understand a lot). That lady then interviewed my wife with all these questions, she treated my wife like she’s from another planet, it’s embarrassing because there were lots of people around. That lady then told me that she’s not going to let us go to the presentation. We literally went all the way to Orlando, Fl to do this and she refused us right away! Why the hell can they just refuse us at first when we purchased it?!?! Just because we’re Asian and doesn’t speak that much doesn’t mean we don’t understand you, plus, we’ll use our money to go purchase the vacation timeshare elsewhere.

I had gone into Bass Pro Shop and got a package for a presentation and called to schedule it and was offered a 2 bed and 2 bath and when we get to the hotel was not offered what was stated over the phone and also the reception was bad. Did not help at all and also the other guy that is in the reception that represents the Bluegreen resorts had to have a smart** comment. He was very unhelpful also. When we go to the presentation the rep and the manager of the rep where very concerned at first then they offered me a lot of things that I thought was all a lie and told me to write it down and who knows what they did with it. Never again did I see the manager again and was not offered anything else. Never bought nothing. Worst experience ever. PEOPLE DON'T GET FOOLED. ITS ALL A LIE!!!! If you’re sitting in a high pressured sales situation and desperately googling to find out the reputation of Bluegreen Vacations, I hope this review pops up and you can read three words - DON’T DO IT. You can’t resale for more than $1, your maintenance fees will go up, you won’t have enough points to use the resort they promise you, any deed they promise you is crap, prices of timeshares do not appreciate, and you’re better off paying the nightly fee to use their resorts than investing in a lifetime of maintenance fees, mortgage costs, and an false asset that depreciates the minute you sign their documents. DON’T DO IT! If you’re within a few days of having done it, CANCEL IT. Don’t justify and trick yourself by saying ‘you’ll use it’, ‘you’ll travel enough for it to make sense’, etc. You won’t, and even if you wanted to, you wouldn’t have enough points to go when you wanted to.
Save your money and years (if not a lifetime) of fees and hassle dealing with what will be (it has for me) the dumbest mistake you ever make. These resorts feel no remorse for what they offer and how they take advantage, and they will never respond to your concerns. Just keep paying their fees - that’s all they want you for.

I'm saddened to read these reviews. I feel like the only thing that happens to me lately is that I'm taken advantage of by scams. Like most, I paid $129 for the 2 night stay, received a $25 gift card on the spot with a promise of $50 more in gift cards after I complete the presentation make my stay $54. I will not be attending my scheduled presentation next year; I'll forfeit the 100 dollars because it's not worth any stress, anxiety and panic that will come with going through with this. I have severe PTSD and I don't need this. I've also called and reported my credit card numbers as stolen in order to get new numbers so they can't charge any more fees. I'd suggest others do the same.

We went to BassPro Shop and met the sale lady by accident. We were told that BlueGreen has promotion vacation packages. They said the vacation package is only $179. It offered 3 nights hotel with any locations of our choice. The package also offered $50 gift card. The sale lady said the company did not earn any profit. They did so because they want people know their resorts. We decided to buy the vacation package and decided to take vacation a few months later. The hotel, DoubleTree itself was not good. The swimming pool and some parts of the building were under construction. The last day of our vacation, we were told we had to attend BlueGeen's presentation that supposed be only an hour or less but when we arrived we were told that the presentation were two hours.
Because we could not stay for that long, we refused to attend it. The sale person gave the number to attend the presentation another time and location. After the call, we were told that there is no other time and location so we decided to attend the presentation. But they said "oh, the presentation already started and we cannot let you in." We were told that if we could not attend their presentation, we had to pay the hotel full price. That will be charged $218 from our credit card. And then we started to know that this is completely SCAM. Please share this information to your family and friends to stay away from BlueGreen or similar business. DON'T LET THEM SCAM OTHER PEOPLE.

This is best thing since sliced bread! I purchased a vacation at The Mall of Georgia and had wonderful experience! The sales rep was friendly and answered all of my questions. (I had a lot) I looked up the reviews on this site before I purchased, and was about to walk away, however the representative explained to me that a lot of these reviews come from frustrated customers who don’t fully understand what they are purchasing, and actual owners who don’t understand how to use the timeshare they bought into. After explaining, she went in detail about the vacation package, explained that it was hotel stay, and we would get a free cruise!
We used our trip in Charleston, SC and stayed at a really nice Hampton Inn. The tour wasn’t bad at all. The sales lady there explained how their vacation club works, and when we told her we weren’t interested, she gave us our cruise certificate, and we left. The entire tour took about an hour and a half. Totally happy with this purchase!

Have been owners with Bluegreen since 2003 and have been happy with them until this presentation. While staying at Club 36 in Las Vegas in Sept 2019, we went in for a owner presentation. We asked about how to bank some points and were told we would need to upgrade and buy 15000 points and our points would be banked at a 6 to 1 ratio (we would get 6 points banked indefinitely for every 1 point banked). We declined. Then the offer changed to bank them at 6 to 1 with a purchase of 5000 points and we would be able to bank the points and use them within 14 days at some "great" additional locations. (Which they showed us on the computer).
They also were telling us about other great benefits of this upgrade, we asked to see in writing. They didn't have any more literature on that, but would send us the literature and books on Monday. We were told that books and other information would be mailed to us because they didn't have them on the weekend. The books were to explain in greater detail other parts of the upgrade. We were also told if we were not satisfied we could cancel within 30 days. (Should have recorded it all.) After 8 hours we consented and were directed how to answer the recorded interview questions.
At 2 weeks, we attempted to bank the points and were told "No" you can't bank those 35000 points. (The exact same points we had been talking to them for 8 hours about and going over on the computer, we met with 6 different people that day). We found out that the place we were looking at to stay in NYC did not require an upgrade despite them showing us it did. (They had to show us this on special computer, we asked to see it and how it worked on our laptop and was told that we couldn't see it, required their special program that we would get access to later).
We began the phone calls to cancel 2 weeks after the meeting. I had requested authorization of another contact person on the account, initially they declined if that person wasn't on the deed. Then consented and assured us of the additional authorized contact persons. Eventually, they claimed person wasn't authorized contact person. We received letter from Bluegreen indicating the paperwork sent to Florida didn't arrive (with our information) and we could buy their credit monitoring service.
We have called many times over the last several months and been unable to speak with our assigned agent from customer care management team. Even sent emails requesting specific date and time to get refunded and stop charges and adjust maintenance fees. Spoke with another agent and have transcript of call saying contract would be cancelled and monies refunded, maintenance fees adjusted and nothing more needed done. Then the assigned agent calls, which we couldn't pick up, we called back and began a game of tag. Called multiple times and have not been able to speak with her.
Las Vegas sales manager called and denies everything now on their end. The promised information has not been received, The maintenance fees are not adjusted, Promised refund not made. No contact from Owner services or customer care. Upgrade information does not show up on online account. NOTHING promised has been delivered. In summary, have been happy with service until this time, Vegas sales department is deceptive and deceitful, don't waste your time with them (as we did). Very dissatisfied longterm owner, If they will treat longterm owners this way, they will definitely be deceitful, deceptive and dishonest with others.

Due to circumstances that I relayed to the representative I was unable to take it within their time frame and was offered the option to extend. I was told they'd be in touch and they never called back except to inform me that my original vacation was now expired, null and void but I could of course purchase another vacation from them at a significant additional cost for a reduction in property. I kindly explained that I was told I could extend the timeline to which they simply stated I was out of luck but welcome to buy their new package. You'll receive multiple sales calls but apparently they're unwilling to honor the original package you pay for. Be very careful in reading the fine print and you're far better off going with a more reputable company.

It also asked for income and credit rating. Moreover, they asked for our drivers' licenses and copied the numbers onto a computer. I told them I would not sign the document, and my wife and I left. We found a hotel and paid. The next week Blue Green attempted to charge $200 to my credit card! (Declined.) My advice is to book a nice hotel and stay away from these creeps.

I had just had foot surgery 2 weeks prior to our trip to Florida for a funeral and we sat through this 5 hour bs all the while I have a walking boot on and I am sitting with my leg up on my husband trying to prevent swelling. Finally we bought a sampler for $895.00. After numerous attempts throughout the year and unable to use our points because no availability or black out dates we paid to extend the our sampler to now. We are in Branson MO at a Blue Green Resort in an efficiency because this is all they had available. I tried to get a 2 bedroom but there were none available.
When we arrived I found out we had to sit through another meeting to sell us a timeshare. When I told them of the trouble I had booking any vacation, I was not able to buy into BlueGreen. I told them I tried to book a 2 bedroom but there weren’t any available and he replied that they only had 14 units available at that location. Then I asked why does the entry into this “resort” have a big sign that says “A Blue Green Vacations Resort”? No response. Then the salesman said, "Well it’s because we only have 14 units available for the Sampler Owners. We are booked to the end of the week at this “resort” but we are leaving 5 days early."
I tried to call the office to advise them, no one answered and of course they are closed on Sundays. Now we will probably have to forfeit the balance of our over 5000 points because we the sampler expires the end of November. This has been the biggest waste of money and cannot believe how these people are allowed to operate.

In April we were pitched a vacation deal for a 3 night stay, 2-bed 2-bath at a Bluegreen Resort. We had stayed at the 3-bedroom at this resort before and loved it and wanted the same accommodations this time. The sales rep told us we could upgrade to a 3-bed once we have our dates chosen. Since there is a limited number of the 3-bedroom rooms, and we were planning to go at a busier time (weren't sure of our dates yet at the time), and he also couldn't tell us how much the upgrade would cost, he reassured us that if we are not able to get the accommodations we desire at a price satisfactory to us, we could cancel the package at any time, even outside of their 30-day refund policy. He had to get his manager's approval (allegedly anyway) for this, and the call was recorded.
Now that we finalized our dates, etc, I called today to try to book the package, and they did not even have the 2-bedroom available for our dates. He offered me the 2 night 2-bedroom package instead, at which point I said I will have to discuss with my husband and may need to cancel. He informed me that I can't cancel, at which point I told him the condition I bought this package with, and he forwarded me to customer service. Customer Service said they can't give me a refund and that I was given false information. So, they basically lied to me in order to make the sale and now won't give me a refund for scamming me. I was actually going to consider the 2-night package, but now I don't want anything to do with them and just want my money back. Read the other low ratings. They ARE 100% accurate. First.. Absolute positive BS that this meeting is 1.5 hrs. It's not 2 hours.. or 3 hours. It WILL go on and on and on until you are pressured enough to at least buy "the sampler". DON'T BUY A DAMN THING!!! And as for the positive reviews? Guess what? These are people who bought in and realize the ONLY way that Blue Green will survive is if OTHERS buy into this whole scheme!! THEIR prices go up on maintenance and everything else if YOU don't buy.. so THAT'S why their high reviews. Do NOT buy ANYTHING from them!!
Cruise? NOT free when the cruise line puts all the fees on you (honestly.. go to AAA and book your cruise through them.. no surprises and you'll get what you paid for!) NOTHING Blue-Green will give you will come without a PRICE!! Think you're gonna get a room for a few days just by spending an hour or two hearing a sales pitch and you'll just walk away?? WRONG!!! You'd have a better chance surviving a cult like Jonestown than walking away from Blue-Green without their shady meat-hook people getting something from you! So if you DO ignore this, at least post how long you spent in that 1.5 hour meeting. It started (for us) with a 1.5 hour meeting in a tiny room with no windows.. where the person was "very personal" with "what do YOU want out of life?? What is your vacation time worth to YOU??" (going around to everyone.. and NOTE this is NO DIFFERENT than how cults hook people!!)
After that 1.5 hour meeting.. then it's on to "round two".. where a sales person hits you up. You politely spend 20 to 30 minutes just waiting to say no. Finally you say no, and the person says "okay.. just let my boss know you aren't interested". Boss shows up and you are into round 3! Boss now has a WAY BETTER offer.. so it's onto to another 30 minutes or so and the pressure increases. Finally, you are getting fed up and say no. Okay.. boss says "customer service review coming up.. only a few minutes.. just tell them what you think". ROUND FOUR!! NOPE.. not really customer service. Now another approach to sell as your new best friend "customer service lady" understands and suggests it's such a great deal.. you really SHOULD try at least the sampler. VERY cheap ($900).. no commitment.. "look, like a free vacation.. just think how much hotels there cost".. and PRESSURE BACK ON!!
Why this type of "hostage taking" and high pressure sales doesn't result in fines and imprisonment to the people who run these companies is beyond me!! A prisoner of war probably feels less like a hostage than someone under the Blue-Green prison guard!! DO NOT even give them the time of day!! Bass Pro Shops should be held accountable for associating with this riff raff!! Just imagine their share of the profit for your misery! Blue-Green uses Bass Pro as their "legit business cover". Due to all of this, we actually have stopped going to Bass Pro! The whole thing is SHADY and stinks!

We were lied to over and over by the Bluegreen Sales people. We went to the initial presentation which was supposed to be an hour to hour and half. We were there at least 5 hours. We finally purchased 12,000 points and were assured that we could take one big vacation and maybe a couple of small ones with that amount of points. Come time to book, we couldn't even afford one big one. And if you "save" your points to accumulate them, you can only use the saved points in certain seasons and they expire the following year. In other words you can't save them long enough to accumulate a big enough amount. Second time we went for "orientation". We thought we were going to learn how to navigate the website and get the most out of our points. What we got was a bored young lady explaining the point system. Then came the heavy hitter who "couldn't understand" why we were only sold 12,000 points.
He tried to sell us more but at the time we could not afford it and we didn't buy. Needless to say we left very unhappy. Third time we decided to use what we could before they expired and took a trip to Las Vegas. They asked us to come down so we could ask any questions and/or talk about any concerns. Again, they were "so confused" as to why we were sold only 12,000 points. They explained the bronze status to us (owners of 15,000 points) and assured us that we would be better off buying the extra 3000 points because there was a "special" account where we could save our points that we didn't use and they would "never" expire and we could keep accumulating the points. We figured this was a good deal so at least we could accumulate enough points to take a really great vacation. Wrong!!! Lied to again. They were so convincing. They made us feel like they were our new best friends.
So come time to save our points, after talking to two different people, there is no such account. This is a big scam. We've emailed, called and have yet to be contacted by a representative that can answer our questions. And to top it off the maintenance fees are outrageous. So not only do we not have enough points to go on a great vacation and take our family, we are paying on the timeshare every month and paying over $1,400 in maintenance fees, this year. Please be warned. Don't get caught up in this unless you have money to burn.

My daughter and I bought together, and they promised that her initial "trial" membership ($800.00) would be refunded to her if became and owner. Then after she and I bought, they refused to make the refund. She and I both have been going round and round with them on the phone for almost a year now, and we get nothing but BS, we are blown off, given the runaround, no one returns our calls, it is unbelievable. Even worse, when we bought, no one told us that the only way to get ANY reservations was to reserve many, many months in advance.
That is not something I can do, and even when I TRY to reserve and use my points, there is never anything within my time frame and nothing within my points range! When we were at the "sales meeting", they showed us the cost of rooms at various resorts. After purchasing, when we try to make a reservation, the resort is either sold out or the points are WAY higher than what was shown to us at the sales pitch. This organization is horrible, blatantly ripping off people who are trying to make an honest investment and have nice vacations. This is the WORSE DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE and I regret it every day. If I could GIVE this garbage membership away, I would!

My young daughter and I went on a short 2 day getaway for the weekend before school started. Without knowing, we booked from a 3rd party at a Bluegreen property in Wisconsin. Upon check in, before we could get our parking pass, we were pressured to attend the "120 minute" seminar which promised us numerous free passes to activities we were already planning on doing that could get pretty pricey. I declined at first. He kept asking, "But why? Why would you say no? Can I just ask why though?" And I said, "I'm vacationing with just a young child, and I don't want to spend my time sitting in a meeting." And he spoke directly to my daughter and said, "But you like free stuff don't you?" UGH.
So we woke up the next morning and went to the meeting. High pressure sales pitch does not begin to describe it. It's much like the other reviews. But we listened. I figured, get through it. Get our activity passes and get on with our day. But we couldn't. Then we went to the 1:1 meeting to sell us timeshares. Then we had to go on a tour. Now 3 hours has passed. I declined. As a single mother, they wanted to charge me $40,000 with a $10,000 deposit due immediately? Laughable. So another sales person comes over to sweeten the deal. Less points, less money. I decline. By this point my daughter is restless, hungry, tired. I say this. I say I want to leave. They bring over YET ANOTHER person. Less points, less money, less of a deposit. I say I can't afford it. They offer me a credit card to pay the deposit so that I can get it today. That's a no go.
The whole time, I am approached by literally about 6 different sales people who are memorizing different things about me and my daughter - our names, where we are from, what we've said we liked - in order to get me to agree. They are working to befriend me so that I will buy. Finally after 4.5 hours!!! I am completely fed up. I realize that what I did was not right, but I agreed to some some small package just so I could leave. Because somewhere in this wasted day my initial salesperson (who was actually very nice but only her) had informed me that by Wisconsin law I had 5 business days to cancel. I signed my papers and left. Today, I have sent my certified resignation letter with my Contract # to the corporate office to cancel. BUYER BEWARE!!! Do not even attend the presentation. SAY NO!

We agreed to sit through a timeshare because we were told we would get $900 towards a future cruise. We read the terrible reviews for Bluegreen and refused all offers for the timeshare. We figured the cruise "voucher" we got for 900$ (as it states on the form) would probably be a scam like the timeshare offers were so we called two days after we got the voucher from Bluegreen. The people they have you call that book the cruise told us there is no monetary value for the voucher they gave us even though it said 900$. The travel agent for the cruises told us they don't know why Bluegreen does this but it is a lie what they said and what they gave us and they apologized. Makes us very happy we didn't purchase from Bluegreen.

Don’t waste your time booking through these people. Service is horrible and you won’t get what you paid for. They put you in a hotel and not the resort. The Dining Dough cards that was given out, all the restaurants on there was PERMANENTLY CLOSED! And the few that was open, did not know how to use it. WASTED TIME. The “FREE CRUISE” you have to pay a deposit on and more taxes and you have to take it within a certain timeframe. But I was told that it was free, I understand taxes even though that should have been included in the initial 300$. Will never book with them. This was the first and last time. Sharon ** was rude! Because each and every time we try try reserve we're told that there is no availability. Save your money and your dignity. I’ve been a Bluegreen “owner” for more than 15 years. I’ve been to 3 of the owner’s update presentations. It’s not an update, it’s a high pressure sales pitch to buy more points. I started with 7000 and bought 8000 more. Same old stuff. Still can’t get anything at a prime time. Plenty of lies by the salespeople. Maintenance fees will not go above $1200. It’s a lie. You can book 11 months ahead, that’s true but the prime time is already gone. It’s book by owners that have points of 75000 and more into over 100,000. Why are they gone 11 months ahead of time? Because those high point owners can book earlier than 12 months. They scoop up the prime locations at prime times. They don’t go on vacation. They book the weeks then sell the weeks at a big profit, leaving us cellar dwellers scraps. I will never attend another update, nor would I recommend anyone to buy from them.
Once you buy the overpriced points, you are stuck with them. You can’t get rid of them. They tell you they have First Right of Refusal, if you decide to sell. Even Bluegreen won’t buy if you are selling. You can’t get out of it. It’s a life sentence. Maintenance and Club fees are now over $1600. You can use RCI to exchange BG points to many other places. The catch, it’s a $259 service charge. Save yourself plenty of grief. Stay away, very far away.

We were approached in Bass Pro about this vacation. We were told the only catch was we had to attend a two hour presentation and it was just a promotion for a 4 day 3 night stay in a location of our choice off of their list of several vacation spots. When we originally tried to book the trip (shortly after purchase) everything was booked for several months out. Later as our year deadline approached we had to book it before it expired so we booked our trip in the The Smoky Mountains. We tried to cancel the trip altogether but couldn’t because it was past the 30 days and were told if we didn’t attend the presentation we’d be charged the full cost of the vacation and if we cancelled we’d be subject to late cancellation fees of over $100. We got to our check-in destination and it was closed and had a box outside with envelopes with guests names and in it was your condo number and door codes (sketchy).
Our condo was another almost 30 minutes from the check-in center. Upon arrival to the condo it looked nothing like was described. The outside of the condo had bugs, bird poop, dirt, cobwebs all over and old. The inside of the condo had dirty stained carpet, smelled like it had been smoked in, pubic hair in one of our towels, and just old overall and not taken care of. Luckily we ended up being able to skip attending the presentation and checked out of the property with no penalty but could not be refunded the cost of the trip and still had to pay the $50 in taxes and fees but we’re glad to just to get to leave and go home. Do NOT waste your time or your money! There is a reason there are 1 1/2 stars on here and I wish we had done our research before purchasing this rip off of a vacation! If I could give it no stars I would!

I wish I can give them 0 stars. We bought vacation for 2 nights through Bass Pro, end up going to LV, because it was closest choice. Had to pay resort fee for the hotel they put us in, which was a very low class hotel in downtown LV, which, if you are familiar with LV, leaves you with no option to sleep through the night because of the loud noises and music from Fremont St till 2-3am! Well, if you are such an amazing organization, can you just offer a better room with a fridge at least, so your clients are at least happy in the morning before going into your "presentation"!?
Next morning presentation turned up to be a 4 hour nightmare with pushy disrespectful people, one of which was a dancer (I love dancers but when are you selling this SCAM, go dance please!), another one was a "life-lost" minister who ask us to pray for his son! (What????) He then did a tour for us and we were talking about guns and he actually made a gesture as if he was pointing a gun at my head. (No further comments needed here.)
They pushed for bigger sales, we refused, then smaller ones, until they offer us a sampler. When I asked the "manager" who came to rescue "minister-salesperson", "Did we now hit the bottom of your offer with this sampler and can leave as we don't want to purchase?", he got really angry, so we almost purchased it. I had to take a hard hit on my credit check, even though they said, it'll be soft, but then another crazy lady (who couldn't speak English) came over to push another 2 nights in LV for #49 (right!), and thanks God, I flipped, and I said, "I want to cancel it all," and I did, so we left. NEVER fall for this SCAM! I consider it to be ABUSE! Stay away and stay happy!

The presentation is at the hotel we thought we were staying at. The whole time it appeared to be Trade Winds Hotel, but it ended up being a few miles down the road next to nothing. Just a promotional for the company to get people to visit the resorts. She also told me there was no expiration date for my $200.00 purchase. Then I get an email stating my vacation was going to expire. I changed the date and location to the Wisconsin Dells location. After a 16 hour train ride to Wisconsin and going to their “Welcome Office” I was told I was ineligible for the vacation and that I could not get my money returned because I did not cancel 30 days prior. Their Carnival cruise is nothing but scam because they give you the worst stateroom with two bunk beds and charge you $400 which I confirmed with Carnival, that cruise for that stateroom would not more be more than $400 for two people! Basically you pay for your cruise but Bluegreen call it tax and fees!! That’s how BLUEGREEN TIMESHARE catch you and trap you!! My wife and I recently went on a supposed Bluegreen vacation to "Treasure Island", which is a barrier island off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida. We were booked at the Bilmar Beach Resort which from the photos looked quite nice. My wife didn't get a very long vacation, so we were booked for 4 days. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we could see that someone had left sand at our door. I know that it is a beach resort, so I tried to overlook that small thing. Once we entered inside the room, we noticed that the bathroom toilet looked like it was not cleaned. I looked at my wife and asked her for some input. She said that the room was still doable. When we went to bed though was another story.
Around 10pm I noticed a cockroach crawling across my phone on the desk. I got out of bed to turn the light on, and I noticed a spider crawl across the cook top on the opposite side of the room. That night we slept with the lights on. In the morning, we were getting ready to go out for breakfast, and another cockroach crawled across the cook top. After that, I turned to my wife and we decided to cut the stay short with 3 days to go. We went to a beautiful boutique hotel in St. Petersburg Beach and saved our vacation. My wife and I purchased a package which gave us 8000 points every other year. Being in sales for 30 years I had specific questions I wanted to have answered. One question was could we accumulate points and "build up" points to use. We were told we cold roll over points for a 50 fee, which I thought was fine. We had some points that were coming up for expiration and we had rolled them over the very first year, and we were told that we could only roll over 1 year's worth of points....period. Which basically means we pay all these maintenance fees and have enough points to go to a resort in the OFF season for barely 2-3 days.
But one thing I was really curious about was this, in the sales center we used their computers to look up a resort in Florida and at this one specific week it was approx 2500 points a day.. When we got home and looked up the SAME resort and the SAME week, the points were 6500-7500 A DAY. I think they have accounts they use to show you to get a sale then you can never find those same point values once you use your account. We are looking into legal options right now. I think this was a complete scam. I would not recommend Bluegreen to ANYONE.

Filled out a contest form at a local mall and BlueGreen Vacations called me a few months later. They offered me a 4 day-3 night stay at one of their resorts along with other gifts for $250 if we would participate in their timeshare presentation. I was skeptical (as I should have been) however they told me we would get $250 in dinner gift cards at the end of the presentation along with other gifts so really the trip would be free (the other gifts also included another free hotel stay for 3 days-2 nights and a cruise trip). I confirmed with the guy on the phone that the restaurant gift cards would be to restaurants that we actually used - he specifically named Denny’s (which my son loves) so I figured we would definitely use them. I also asked what other fees were included and asked if I needed to spend anything else for this (I tried being very detailed to make sure I knew what I was getting into).
When they called to verify final vacation details, I then found out we would stay at a hotel instead of their resort. Don’t get me wrong the hotel was very nice, but I didn’t like that I was made to believe that we would stay at their resort. I called their customer service line and was told that they had told me from the beginning that I had bought their hotel deal, and I should have known it wasn’t their resort deal. I explained that no one explained the difference to me and I didn’t even realize that there was a resort deal. She asked if they said hotel to me. I explained that I just figured they meant their resort anytime they said hotel, and how was I supposed to know the difference? When they called to have me reserve the resort they specifically asked me which resort I wanted and told me I needed to choose quickly so it didn’t book up.
The customer service lady seemed impatient at times and said they could listen to the calls and then do more education if they needed to. I got the impression she didn’t believe me. Anyway, It was about a 15-20 minutes drive from the hotel to the resort where the presentation was. We sat through the presentation and of course said no to everything. When we finally got our gift cards (5 - $50 gift cards) the lady told us it’s more for ma-and-pop type restaurants and not big chain restaurants.
I looked online to see where we could use them and of course there are no restaurants in our area. The closest one is about 30-45 minutes from us. I’m not driving out of my way just to use a restaurant card. And no Denny’s nor any other restaurant the man told me we could use the gift cards at. And to make it worse it appears that the gift cards can only be used if you spend a certain amount of money at the restaurant in the first place (i.e. ‘must spend $50 to use $25 gift card’ so I’m assuming I would have to spend $100 to use a $50 card). I’m very disappointed and should’ve realized this was a scam.
The free cruise they offered is not free. They give you a voucher and voucher says it costs $289 per person for the cruise (great price for a cruise but still I was told it was free when I signed up for this). Now I did get a 4 day stay at a nice hotel for $250 which is a great bargain. So I really shouldn’t complain too much. I just hate being lied to. I'm glad I didn’t buy into the timeshare because who knows what else they lied about during their presentation. They’ll tell you anything to get your money.

I purchased a low-end timeshare with the Bluegreen Vacations back in January 2016, after finding out about the company through Bass Pro Shop kiosk and making a trip out to Las Vegas for the $149 two night special. I was at the time right in the middle of escrow for a house, and let the salesmen know it was a major concern. The salesmen and several other workers including the manager assured me that the purchase would not present itself in any way shape or form on my credit report. The sales pitch was great, they sold me on the wonders of having a timeshare and under their high-pressure tactics, my and I signed on the dotted line. Unfortunately, in the bag of “gifts” they offer during the sales presentation contains the actual contract that is being agreed upon which includes a nice little line that states nothing presented verbally or in writing that is not found in the contract is binding.
Thus, the whole picture came to reality 5 days later when while still on vacation, my escrow agent called about a ping on my credit report. I explained what the situation was, and that apparently we were a victim of a lie, to which the escrow agent replied: “timeshares are known for that.” I was blown away and immediately started making phone calls to credit card company and Bluegreen Vacations to see if I could cancel the purchase, which took several days to complete and actually past the allotted time to back out of a “real estate” purchase. I was stuck, but fortunately, because we had purchased on credit card instead of financing, the escrow agent was able to work some magic and get us through closing.
Okay, so now I have this timeshare, and I go to look at the places I can go with the points provided, and what do you know there is a very limited selection like Phoenix, AZ in the middle of June or somewhere in Wisconsin in the dead of Winter. So, understandably I was quite distraught by the situation I had gotten myself into. I spent hours of research trying to figure out what the heck I could do to recap some of my loss, and sadly everything I found online pointed to the same answers: I could try to resell for a complete loss, foreclose on the title and risk further financial damage, or try to make the most out of it. My wife and I decided to try the third route.
So for 2 years of being hard pressed to find anything, so we kept settling on a 3-night stay back in Las Vegas, NV. On our second trip, we were invited to attend an Owner Review meeting which expectedly so turned out to be just another attempt to scam us out of more money, and oddly enough it would have worked again except we had already made plans that evening and their 6 hours of pressure pushed us to have to leave. But not before, we were talked into coughing up another $1200.00 to keep our price secure for another year and a bonus of 8000 points for that year. Yay, we were able to go to Hawaii for 5 nights using the combination of 7000 annual and 8000 bonus points. We were somewhat happy until we realized that the points required to stay there for 5 nights cost us nearly $2500.00 on top of our initial investment.
Another year goes by, and I start looking to find a place to stay once again. We decide that we would rather try Arizona in the summer, rather than Wisconsin in the winter. And this leads us to why I am writing this experience today. My wife and I truly are trying to make the best out of our situation, but this last trip confirmed that we truly have been completely swindled. After spending $15000.00 to get 7000 annual points and $900.00 plus annually in maintenance, fees, and club dues to get 6 nights in a junior suite at the Cibola Vista Resort in Peoria, AZ, only to find out another guest was paying $160.00 for two nights for a 2 bedroom suite (which I verified through Hotels.com), I am more than disturbed with the value of the product I purchased. Technically, at this point I would save more money by selling the timeshare for pennies on the dollar and staying as a guest anytime I wanted.
I honestly keep trying to find reasons to be happy with Bluegreen, yet the whole thing has been a scam from point of sale to present. Too bad they had me sign away all my rights through cons and deceit, and therefore I have to continue paying for a dismal product or risk further financial defeat. The bottom line of Bluegreen has been pushy sales tactics and untrustworthy people and company. Nothing said in the sales presentation or owner review matters, as all can be washed away once any contract is signed and that is all that seems to matter is that they get more money out of you. After past experiences of sharing my concerns, and reviewers realizing they can't make a sale, they finally let you go, which takes hours and frankly isn't worth the hundred dollars they offer. If you are reading this, please learn from my mistake and avoid buying into timeshares at all cost.

We recently stayed at a very nice resort in Aruba and love the resorts in Gatlinburg, St. Pete Beach and Orlando. However, their locations are limited and going to any of the more popular destinations means planning way in advance.
When we signed up we were more interested in beach destinations, which they have several of in Florida. I have a Vacation Club membership with Marriott... have loved it from start to finish. Was offered a "great deal" to review Bluegreen vacations and had a horrible experience first to last. The first gentleman on the phone grew openly rude when I wanted to check with my wife before paying for a vacation review when we already had one. When I complained a very pleasant girl apologized and offered an even better deal. A two night stay at another hotel and a cruise where we only had to pay taxes. Plus our money back on our trip with cards we could use to buy meals while there equal to what we were paying to go. We went.
Unlike Marriott we couldn't actually stay in their resort without paying extra per night. The accommodations were the places their people made fun of in the presentation. The cards ended up being discounts on a rather thin selection of restaurants with a complicated sign up system. The two hour presentation took three hours and only took that long because we forced our way out... we didn't even get to see the resort.
When trying to use the certificates for our free hotel stay (room taxes only) with a $100 deposit to cover those upfront. It turns out that not a single verbal commitment from Bluegreen was honest. They proved quite limited in possibilities upfront, then when it came down to it... I got "nothing is available" but if you want to use them on a plus accommodation place we can save you $40 on the weekend trip. We asked for our $100 back and the process is long and complicated, receive emails, fill out forms, mail them back, wait for X weeks between each step. We still have the cruise to try and use, but I will say this. I will NEVER recommend or respond to anything from Bluegreen again. The vacations might be nice... can't say, but my every experience with them was a either misleading or an outright lie.

They make timeshare ownership flexible and rewarding. The one thing I've liked over the years is that it forces us to plan a vacation. Also, I rent out a few nights to cover our maintenance fee 100%. You do need to buy directly from Bluegreen and not a resell if you want to experience all the benefits. People get mad when they get pitched to buy something on this. Why do you think they are giving you free stuff? It is because they want you to buy a timeshare and get you to come to a sales pitch. I went to one in Charleston, was put in a nice hotel and given a free cruise as an incentive. Once I went into the sales pitch the sales rep laid it all out. Tried all his sales pitches, and was very nice. Of course it's a little pushy cause they need to make sure you really do not want to do it. They asked us to return to review our sampler. That meeting was supposed to be 45 minutes. It also turned into 3 hours of pressure. We had to just walk out. Tried to use sampler points and found they could only be used at certain resorts and only certain weeks. None of this was disclosed to us at purchase. Now we have points that will expire before we can use them. Never do business with these scammers. My sister bought timeshare with them and found out she can not sell it or even give it away. She is stuck with it for life.

We are in our 70's on a fixed income. I sent a written notification to Bluegreen that we have bills to pay off for my wife's cancer treatment and can no longer pay on the timeshare. They will not take it back. They have a Bluegreen group that has not been able to resale it, and they have a Bluegreen collection agency that keeps harassing us for payments we cannot make. They are trying to destroy our credit and simply could take the timeshare back.

I am currently battling Bluegreen after spending nearly $18,000 on something I cannot use because I cannot book where or when I need to. We were told lies and given false information about the entire membership. I have yet to use my points. The only thing they will tell me is to buy more points because premier will give you advantages over 80% of the other members. This is a scam and you will be paying a high interest rate mortgage for non-real property. Do not believe them when they say you can refinance it. You can't!!!! They refused to help me and ignored my calls and emails. I had to get an attorney. Then they said they could not help me since I have legal representation and to have the attorney contact them.
Bluegreen has yet to return the attorney's calls and demand letters. I have 6 pages worth of complaints regarding the lies they told me. Due to the pending legal action, I will not go into further details, but do stand you ground with them regarding your complaint! Please, if you have issues with Bluegreen, contact the BBB in Florida where Bluegreen is based. Also, contact the consumer protection division at the Attorney General's Office in your state and/or the state where you purchased your package. Bass Pro is suing Bluegreen and is breaking their partnership. Bluegreen stocks have fallen considerably over the past few months. If they file bankruptcy, they will sell your membership to another company or change their name and you will still be obligated to them.

Went to the representation. They offered a packaged deal for 75000, then the representative lowered the amount. We still wasn't interested in spending that type of money on a vacation. Last but not least they had us to fill out a paperwork, not knowing that they were going to run a credit report as if we were buying a home. I ask them would this credit report put a hard inquiry on my credit. They said no, but they lied. And ran the credit report anyway as if we were buying a home. All of this is a scam to get your information. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE NOT HONEST AT ALL!

My wife and I got suckered into signing up for a free cruise for only $200. We were so generous the Bluegreen sales team allowed us to pay $200 more to take another couple with us. Well these free cruises were going to end up costing us close to $900 a couple. Now the FREE cruise for 4 people had a price tag of $2200. We did not find out how much the FREE cruises were going to cost until we had bought into their little vac scheme. My wife and I bought a point system that we thought would allow us to set up family vacations each year.
No matter how many points you buy you must schedule the reserved vac time a minimum of 18 months ahead of your desired dates. While the Bluegreen's sales team was making their pitch (and they are very good at it), they told us we could set up vac reservations easily any time. Not True. Their scheduling tools are not very user friendly and you don’t have much flexibility. We were also told we could use hotel stays (RCI) on the trip from Florida to New York which we make a couple times per year. They neglected to tell us you have to use multiple night stays for this RCI program.
When the sales team was struggling to get us to buy, they brought in what I call the closer, We were shown all kinds of charts and graphs leading us to believe the value of the point purchase was at a low price and the value would go up, showing a nice profit should we desire to sell. Well there is no real way to sell these timeshares at any profit. Currently the market value for our property is at a disappointing value of $.40 on the dollar. We were also told the kids would be able to inherit this vac package and the maint. cost would remain locked in or even could go down slightly. Not true. The kids don’t even get a choice to inherit or refuse the obligations. This company is very good at what they do, mislead the public. I would highly recommend stay away from Bluegreen Timeshares.

We were pressured into purchasing the sampler package after saying ‘No’ several times. After 5 hours we gave in and spent $895 with the promise that the 9000 points would give us up to 3 weeks vacation. Once we got back to our room we opened the catalog to see how many points it would be for 2 one week vacations. One in April and one in September. Guess what? We could only get one week out of the points. I checked South Carolina (where we purchased) law and we had 5 days to cancel. Immediately we sent a certified return receipt to Bluegreen and cancelled. The gentleman at the Post Office said he gets 2-3 of these letter per day. I’m still waiting for my refund on my AMEX, but I just received the Return Receipt back. These salespeople lie right to your face and don’t flinch. I hope this teaches me to less trusting of some people.

Also they threatened us by saying, "If you don't buy something now you are blacklisted for life." The sampler is Limited to where you can go and when. Once there at Myrtle Beach I might as well be in the projects! Nasty rooms, rude workers. The people staying there were loud and very low class. Oh and if you complain they out you and won't speak to the one who complained. This place is one lie after another!! They Also told us you must make no less than 50k with great credit to be here , another lie. They just told us they accept everyone. Oh and once you have the sampler you won't have to go to a consultation. Another lie if you don't 150.00 per person charge!! In the room it was dirty with roaches!

Then we found out that to use the Sampler during vacation times or summer months, we only had 3 places to choose from, all far away from where we lived (not conducive for a family with kids) - this certainly wasn't included in their sales pitch. We ended up losing our money, and gaining a real hatred for Bluegreen Vacations.

I found Bluegreen through a visit to a Bass Pro store. The gal at the kiosk was nice, professional and informative. We went to our preview and we were treated respectfully and never once pressured into buying. We have been Bluegreen owners ever since and that was back in 2011. We have continued to expand our points and are now Gold members. “No regrets”. We read and asked serious questions so we knew what we were getting into. To me, when I penciled out the numbers, it was a no brainer compared to the $$$ of owning a second home.
I gauged and based my decision on what I “wouldn’t” be paying for over the years and that we wouldn’t be locked into the same place every year. For us having options about where to vacation is paramount. Not paying $150k plus interest on a mortgage, monthly cost of utilities on a place we won’t be staying at monthly, furnishings, upkeep items like roof, A/C, water heater, etc. We have learned that like going to popular places at popular times it’s the same with Bluegreen. You gotta plan ahead if you want to go there. Timeshare ownership isn’t for everyone.

We encountered Bluegreen initially at Bass Pro Shops. They stated and even wrote (on a flyer I still have) that Bluegreen “speaks for itself – Bass Pro!!”. This was the very first lie we were told, and it worked for obvious reasons, Bluegreen might be set-up at Bass Pro, but Bluegreen is not part of nor owned by Bass Pro. From the very start, had we not been misled so seriously thinking this was a Bass Pro “product” we would have never given an iota of time to Bluegreen. We certainly never would have dared to purchase. Bass Pro is reputable with a knack for customer service and a willingness to make things right for its customers; essentially, Bass Pro is everything Bluegreen is not, in all the ways that matter to a consumer!
I would like to point out the things we were told and then misled on, and the lies we were told that had zero truth to them whatsoever. We were told that the timeshare could be passed on to family, children and grandchildren, free vacationing for generations; and it is generations of ownership, but not even close to free, it comes with a cost. If you pass this on, your heirs are held responsible without any choice in the matter by-the-way, you are passing on DEBT, not vacations. If they do not want the timeshare, they still get it and the responsibility regardless.
Family will need to continue paying (and they cannot refuse the timeshare if they don’t want the burdens). As any estate is obliged to pay the debt left behind. The maintenance fees continue and continue on for your loved ones, and the mortgage as well if it has not already been paid in-full (one of ours is paid in-full). Yes, you understood this correctly, if you have paid the entire timeshare off IN-FULL you will eternally still owe the maintenance fees, and speaking of those... Maintenance fees, Bluegreen told us (and from the other reviews I am viewing) they also told others that once this is paid for, the maintenance fees end, and you are left with FREE vacations for lifetimes and generations to come.
We were confidently assured that there are very few increases in these fees and minimal increases when it does happen (which was supposedly a rare occurrence). I have a flyer that I received after my 6/22/14 purchase (dated July 1st) with the maintenance fees listed as $1,085 a year (and dues – yes, dues, yet another charge… $129 yearly). They also claimed that using the Barclays credit card would offset maintenance fees, not even close, and at a 16.99% interest rate. 2014 $1,085. 2016 $1,426+$341 in 2 years (OR $170.50 per year –> 2015 $170.50 + 2016 $170.50 = $341 increase). 2017 $1,487+$61 in 1 year2018 $1,563+$76 in 1 year.
From 2014-2018 (5 years total) there was a +$478 increase. With a range of $61-$170.50 range of INCREASE possible each year. If my grandchildren were to get this timeshare 20 years from now the maintenance could potentially cost them over $5,000 every year. $5,000 per year to pay our debt for an item they cannot use or book…. as far as booking….
We could not book Wyoming (Jackson Hole); Grand Lake, Oklahoma; Hawaii and multiple other resorts! Of course, Bluegreen told us to upgrade and the extra points would change everything for us! The only thing it changed was the costs. More money, no more booking than before, it seems like less booking availability the more we bought (4/28/15 we purchased more points; an ‘upgrade’). We have lost over $33,000 already to Bluegreen and we have vacationed 20 nights. Since June of 2014 and after $33,000 we have only been able to book 8 times for a total of 20 nights. That is $1,650 PER NIGHT. This cost does not include travel expense, eating expenses, or anything other than a place to sleep. $1,650 per night for Branson, MO 5 times, Nashville, TN once and Las Vegas, NV once.
In reality, the Vegas vacation was only because Bluegreen made certain we could get the booking (4/2015 upgrade purchase) but we had to attend a presentation (even as owners already), so I am not certain we should have to count those 5-nights since it was actually a sales presentation and we were bamboozled once again. Additionally, 2 nights were in Branson, MO, 6/2014 for the original purchase and presentation which is when we purchased the initial timeshare. If you consider that then for more than $33,000, we only had 13-nights we have been able to book. This is the only times we have been able to use this timeshare. As far as renting the timeshare out like they said we could….
We were emailed by Jerry ** of Corporate Event Solutions, he said they could rent the points for $9,000 but when we asked him to elaborate on who he was and his association with Bluegreen he stated that there are 3 parts to Bluegreen, RCI-Bluegreen-Corporate Events (who he works for). As for them telling us we could sell…. in 2016 we listed the timeshare on Pinnacle for sale for a year. We had to pay $39 per contract and we got no offers at all. The original flyer from the initial purchase (I still have it) states any time, any place, any size and lists 7 benefits of my ownership. Number 5 states we can use it, rent it, gift it and will it. I think I have explained how this is not true!
The maintenance fee is listed as $1,085. It says we have 15,000 points yearly. They told us they were part of Bass Pro. We did not have time to look the contract over and were not told what we were really signing, instead we were told something different and believed that was what we were signing. Rooms were not ready upon arrival, not even by 5:00 pm. They continue to try to push us to attend more meetings and buy more and more. Presentations are supposedly only “90-minutes”, they were over 4 hours long. We were told we could sell it or rent it for extra income, untrue.
Go on eBay, you cannot give them away! We were shown very nice, spacious, remarkable rooms as examples of what we ourselves could expect, not true, not available and not accessible. We could pass on vacations for a lifetime (without telling us the expense would accompany it). Put down payment on the 16.99% Barclays card and was told this would offset maintenance fees, not true. On and on.
Do you know what we received after emails, letters and verbal complaints? Rude customer service, no assistance, a refusal on the part of Bluegreen to discuss anything in writing. A refusal by Bluegreen to assist us in any way or return our money so we stopped paying, and now they have foreclosed on us, ruining our credit. We are 60 and 62 years old and Bluegreen preyed upon us and ruined our credit. They have not offered any of the benefits they proclaimed, they have not made any efforts to offer customer service, they are keeping our money and we are strapped with ruined credit, a loss of over $33,000, stress among other issues thanks to Bluegreen.
We cannot get them to hear us, so we are going to continue to post our opinions, the facts, and the situation as it unfolds for all to see. We hope you read this BEFORE buying into the scam yourself. If you see Bluegreen run the other way. We got a $50 Bass Pro gift card and $150 of Big Cedar bucks; all we had to do to get it was sacrifice over 4 hours of our lives (presentation), spend $299 upfront, pay all travel and associated expenses, get ourselves into overwhelming credit card debt as well as other debt associated with Bluegreen AND lose $33,000 over a 4-year period! Not much of an incentive really looking back. Don’t fall for $50 in the moment and lose over $33,000 in the near future!! It is not worth it!

The hotel was beautiful, right on the beach we loved it! The next day we attended their sale pitch, after sitting there for 3+ hours they talked us into buying in, they are very good at their jobs. We bought in, we spent $12k on a lifetime of great vacation. After being in this program for one year we quickly realized we did not have enough point to stay at most places and all the prime vacation months are always full and we could not use our points. However we still had to pay a maintenance fee of $1200 per year.
I feel that Bluegreen is very misleading, dishonest, thieves that steal people's money. I still regret all the money that I wasted and it was a few years ago. I have reached out to the company in hopes they would understand how this is not beneficial to my family in hopes they would remedy the situation, but they did not. I received a call stating that I had "won" a free vacation of 4 days/3 nights and a cruise with up to 4 people all included and paid for. They got my information off of a raffle I had filled out in a mall about 4 months ago, I almost didn't even remember I had filled it out at all. The representative asked me about my income and credit score before going through her pitch which I protested, but then ambiguously replied to after her insistance. She went through her whole pitch before saying that I would only be eligible for all of these things if I gave her my credit card info over the phone to charge what I understood to be $98.
By this point, I was on a moving bus in the middle of the highway and even if I had wanted to give her my info, I'm not going to do that while being surrounded by strangers in the bus. I asked the representative if she could email me all of this info so I could review it and call them back if I was interested. After explaining to me that this offer was only available during the first promotional call, I still did not feel comfortable. She tried emailing me, but my phone will literally not allow any inbound emails to come through while I am on a phone call.
At this point, I'm trying to politely hang-up the call when the phone gets passed to a "quality assurance representative" called James who went on this crazy rant about how I'm passing up an amazing one time opportunity, that giving your credit card information over the phone is no different from giving your credit card to a waitress on a restaurant, etc etc. At this point I'm 100% believing it's a scam call, but still wanted to get them off the phone politely. He asked me what were my reasons for not taking advantage of the offer so that he could better assist future clients since this was "such an unusual situation".
I told him that they were calling me from an unknown number, I have no idea who Bluegreen is. He cut me off to tell me all of the reasons why these are not valid points. Then I told him that him talking was making me feel less reassured, he cut me off again. I had to say AGAIN that the more he talked, the less reassured I felt and that I really hoped he'd take that feedback as a QA. Finally he gave up and let me get off of the phone. I genuinely believed that I had just avoided getting scammed by a scammer until I was able to get the email they initially tried sending me and ended up here reading all of the reviews from other people. I still feel like I just avoided a huge bullet.

I recalculated their offers with real numbers on vacationing and found that to achieve a true benefit from their program I would need to be in the program 20 years to balance the initial buy and the yearly fees with actual travel expenses. An average cost of $60,000 out of pocket for a 10 year program of 20,000 points is ludicrous. I could take my wife to Hawaii every year (all inclusive) for 14 days for 11-12 years for this money. The sales staff will push you very hard to buy and go into debt. Unless you are traveling 3 to 4 times a year, staying multiple days this program is not cost effective. I filled out a sweepstakes in the mall for a new car and was called about a 3 day, 4 night vacation and a 4 day cruise for $298. I told the representative I had just had a baby (he’s 2 months now) and I don’t see my husband and I taking a vacation, let alone a cruise, for a long time. After stating 5x that I was not interested, she kept stating her sales pitch because she said she’d like to give me all of the information. I didn’t want to be impolite so I told her that was okay and I stayed on the phone for 19 minutes until she completed her pitch. She then asked for my credit card information and so I stated again that I was not interested at this time but thankful for the information. She continued to insist and so I playfully asked her if she wouldn’t be able to stop until I hung up because I understand some companies require that kind of persistence. She said yes....
Immediately another agent jumps on the phone and starts blaming me for wasting their time and saying how it’s crazy that I stayed on the phone for 19 minutes if I didn’t want to pay $298 for the vacation. So I explained I was trying to be polite so she didn’t get in trouble and he told me that I should’ve just hung up on her. He then began to tell me that if Rogaine called him and he had great hair that he’d just hang up on them.... What in the world is wrong with this company! He then said he was taking my number off their list and hung up on me.... Clearly this company is a joke, wouldn’t even consider getting into a timeshare with them after that call.

I called to do so and was told that I could only change if I upgraded to a 7 night package and paid $500 more. When I said no I was transferred, politely, to a customer care agent.
This agent was so incredibly rude. I can't even believe it honestly. He kept saying, talking over me, how I signed the contract and he'd send me a copy. I told him repeatedly I was looking at the contract but that the agents told me it was just a computer thing but that changing was east etc. Despite that he kept talking louder and over me. I asked him why he was behaving so hostile and he said it was because I was insisting my contract said something different. Which I NEVER said, if he'd been listening he'd have known. He said he would discuss the agent behavior with them, but that I am locked into that location.
I thought the goal was for me to buy a timeshare and this is how a prospective buyer? Not a single apology for agent misrepresentation or an attempt to work with me. Honestly I'd probably have just gone to the destination we were stuck with if he hadn't been so rude, but I ended up requesting a refund. The literal only good thing he did was process my refund immediately. I supervise agents who sell a product on a host retail locations just like these agents, and agent misrep happens. I'm just blown away at how they came at me like it was my fault for trusting their agent and I was out of line. I entered a mall contest for a new car and won a 3 day, 2 night stay vacation for free plus offered free gifts. We went, sat through the 2 hour presentation and bought a $1000 sampler package. That was 12 years ago. We have been in so many wonderful vacations from Michigan to Florida. Yes, it's a point system, so it's first come, first serve.
You have to be smart and book vacation early or you will have a difficult time getting something within a short window time. We only bought the small $7000 package after our sampler ran out, but they serves us well. In October I booked a 2 bedroom chalet for my husband and I and my mom for Gatlinburg, which is our favorite city, for 4 nights/5 days for end of April. I also have a one bedroom deluxe for August with 2 of our grandkids for 5 nights/6 days. All resorts we stay in have full kitchens, washer and dryer, fireplaces, most have balconies. Staff are always wonderful. Our yearly maintenance started in the $575 range and we have paid $679 the past few years. So this year we are going for 9 nights total for the cost of our yearly maintenance of $679.
Four years ago, I took my sister's family of six and my family of five and we stayed at a 3 bedroom combined chalet which had the 3 bedrooms, two queen sofa beds, 3 bathrooms, 2 full kitchens, 3 balconies, 2 washers, 2 dryers, 2 living rooms and 2 fireplaces. I booked this trip 11 months in advance, had no problem getting the exact week and place I wanted on that property. We went in the mountains and explored, went go carting, putt-putt golf, chair lift to top of mountain. I brought my crockpot and put a large roast one day and when we got back from our day's adventure, my sister made homemade gravy from the roast, the 3 kids (ages 5-14), set the table, but our dinner rolls.
Teenagers quickly made a large salad, I made the mashed potatoes (yes instant, but tasty and quick) and steamed some vegetables. Within 15 minutes all 11 of us were eating a meal that cost around $25. I always make waffles in the morning. Having fully stocked kitchens saves so much money. Since I invited my sister and her family, I paid for all the gas, activities and food. I left with $2000 cash, went 3000 miles (2 vehicles) and still came home with $150! We have so many memories and we've been to Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan and Tennessee. I can't wait to go to our Massachusetts resort and see whales. Do your homework, learn how your vacation works and use it and you will love it too! We love Bluegreen.

So I decided to book the hotel anyways still assuming I will get my cruise tickets.
Then today when I called to confirm, I was told I will only get 2 cruise tickets. Now this is annoying, I've been lied to so I asked for a refund. They said they cannot give me the refund, but after the hotel stay and going to their timeshare meeting, they will give me a Mastercard of $50 to swap out the cruise tickets. This is ridiculous! Why would I waste time and money to go and get a $50 Mastercard??? The rep, Caleb was not able to help me beside offering to upgrade my hotel stay in Vegas. I told him this makes no sense to me and it's a lost for me and a gain for them. So I canceled the Vegas stay. I am upset and recommend others to not sign up with this misleading company. They are after your money only! Member #**.

I paid the $200 for the Bluegreen package that was being sold at Bass Pro Shops. It was a 3-day, 2 night stay at one of their properties and we had to sit in on their vacation package presentation. The location we stayed at in San Antonio was beautiful. Customer service was great at the property, as well as the Bluegreen Vacations people that gave the presentations and answered any questions about the resort. My experience was well worth it, and the BG reps were professional, courteous, and came across as wanting to make sure you enjoyed your stay and what they had to offer. I recommend trying this for the initial price whether you want to listen to a presentation and possibly buy something, or not. It was a very good time.

It all started when my wife booked a hotel with my Choice Privilege points and was asked to stay on the line when done, then was connected with a Bluegreen rep. She agreed to pay $200+ for a 3 night stay on 2/11, 12 and 13th of 2019 in St. Pete FL. and sit through the 2 hr. presentation. We bought our airfare and went a couple months later. They put us up in somewhat of a dive next to one of their nice resorts on St. Pete beach. A couple days before we left they called to inform us that we were responsible for paying the taxes for the stay, about another $150. So at this point I already don't trust them.
Got there, sat through the more than 2 hrs presentation, supposedly no pressure sales pitch that the first numbers shown were well over 50k and tried all the way down to just a couple thousand, I said no, no, no, no, no and no to every offer they threw at us. For our "free" gift We were promised 30 thousand points added to my Choice Privilege account, we were told the points would be added in a short time so we finally got out of there. No points were ever added, call them multiple times and were told it will take 72 hrs. each time. Now we're just sitting on hold for approx. 30 mins. Every time and now the last couple times we're just hung up on after some time on hold. I strongly recommend NOT getting involved with this scam company. I hope this helps at least one person.

My wife paid $150 on her credit card to ensure a vacation opportunity. When I reviewed the company on multiple websites, the VAST majority sent warnings to steer clear of this company. I took hrs to view every complaint and determined the complaints are more validated than the opinions. I spoke with a representative of the company to ask for a refund, but got the circular excuses of no one to handle and then put on hold till end of life. Thank goodness I have not paid for airfare to go to a place to be stranded and strongarmed by a keystone caper.

I'm writing in regards to your horrible customer service and vacation packages. In October after I was referred by my parents, I received a phone call about a "wonderful" opportunity. I was told about how I could receive a 4 day 3 night stay, 3- $100 dollar Visa gifts cards that could be used anywhere for anything, another 3 day 2 night stay, and a 7 day cruise. Me and my significant other could book online to many destinations and we would have to attend a two hour meeting regarding your properties. Sounded great, would love to hear about buying a part of your properties to vacation to with my kids. We picked Gatlinburg. The day before our trip was when we finally got a phone call about our accommodations. That's when we were informed it was at a hotel that wasn't one of your properties. Ok we were under the impression that we would get to see your properties and stay there.
Ok get to our hotel on Monday after checking in. Part of the hotel is under construction. Not what I was planning on, dropped stuff off in the room and headed out to see some sites. Didn't get back until after 9 pm. I went to go take a bath and there is hair everywhere in the bathtub. There's a film on the bottom of the tub. This is nasty and not very professional. At this point we are tired, the kids are tired. I clean up the bathtub (took pictures before) took a quick bath and went to bed. The next day told them about it and was basically told that they didn't know how hair ended up in the bathtub. They had just opened up the room. Guess she can send someone to clean it again. Thanks, went to breakfast and got back to the room where there is one of the housekeepers cleaning. So we hang back and wait to go in the room.
She comes to get me to inspect things and there is still hair in the bathtub. She stated "oh I didn't see that" and picked up the hair and threw it away. I had to clean the bathroom again after she left because that's just nasty. Get ready to go to the presentation. Everyone there was nice. Katarina took us to look at the mock ups of what our rooms could look like if we purchased from you. Ok thought we would actually get to see what your resort looks like. At this point it seemed like a scam to have us buy "property", but then end up in some shady not so nice places, especially since we couldn't go on to actually resort property or stay there to be able to experience what you want me to buy from you. So said no thank you at the moment. Went to go pick up our "gifts" and we get 3 - $100 dining dough codes along with the cruise and extra hotel stay, which we have to put deposits on in the next 60 days (kinda restrictive).
I'm pissed because I've been lied to about the Visa gift cards. Call your hotline number but the women that sold us the package "isn't in" and can't explain why she lied. Was told you don't offer that, even though both of us heard her say it as I had her on the phone with me the entire time. Then come to find out you cant use the dining dough cards anywhere. Only a few places and can't use it to pay for your meal. Only can use $5 or $10 once you spend $20. So how am I supposed to have "dinner on us" as the representative said if I have to pay for the majority of it. So basically we got scammed out of money, to sell us property that probably is bogus, for bogus "gifts".
Will be reporting you to the BBB and letting all of our friends know and posting about our experiences on any site that asks for recommendations for Bluegreen or the Clarion Inn. Then we were told by my mom (who referred us) that they got to stay at the Cascades Resort. So are you discriminating on the fact that I'm younger and have kids and put me in a horrible hotel since they probably don't have the money anyway, whereas this older couple with no kids will have more money so let's put them at a nicer place and give them gift cards they can actually use. Well just so you know, they didn't have the money to purchase one of your point plans but I did. But with that crappy experience never will spend another dime with your company.

I agreed to signing up for the 4 day 3 night vacation stay for $199, with free cruise, $100 rebate, and some other fine print things. I figured I could deal with a timeshare presentation if I got some perks. After agreeing to it and giving them my credit card number I waited for the email confirmation but did not receive it so I decided to google reviews on this site. They are obviously HORRIBLE reviews! So I called to cancel, expecting a runaround. What I got was an excellent experience. The attendant explained that most people don't understand the details and therefore get mad when it is not what they think they signed up for. She is correct in that people don't read the fine print, but the original sales people do not explain those details clearly.
The problem is that one assumes they are staying at the actual resort for that price, but it is at a regular hotel. It appears that you can pick what hotel if they have availability, so it is not a bad deal to stay for 3 nights for about $150. That's $199 - $100 rebate + taxes. It was never explained to me that if I wanted to stay at the resort there would be an additional fee, which I might have done. The cruise is reasonable perk, but you still pay about $170 per person in taxes and port fees, which you always pay for in addition to the cruise deals you see online, and the daily tip of usually $20 per day per cabin that you also always have to pay for. So the cruise is still a reasonable deal in that it will cost about $440 of the cruise. I have cruised a lot so for me my time is more valuable than saving a few hundred dollars on an inside cabin carnival cruise.
The other thing that most people don't read is that you have to register the certificate with a couple of months even though you have a year to use it, otherwise it is void. And you have to mail in for the rebate, and if they give you a MasterCard to sweeten the deal with 50 -100 on it you have a limited time to use it. The whole timeshare thing is not a good thing, but that is a different issue.
In summary, make sure you are clear on the details, read the fine print, make sure the value you are getting is worth your time, and don't buy a timeshare! But I will say I had no problem cancelling, the customer service person was wonderful and did not try to talk me out of cancelling, and after giving me some of the details the salespeople left out and answering my questions cancelled it on the phone. I also found out that the reason I did not get an email initially is that they had a wrong letter in it. She corrected it and sent me my cancellation verification.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their sales people continue to lie. When you call to complain they turn into very good card shufflers. No one knows what the other hand is doing. I will never purchase any additional points from this company. My last terrible experience and there have been many in regards to management and sales associates was at the Mountain Loft in Gatlinburg, TN 8/2018. Don't go to one of their spills. Lies...Lies...Lies... Was promised $1500 to spend on anything, only to find out, that is a LIE. YOU COULD only used 10% or less of the total price of the excursion. EXAMPLE TOTAL COST $852.00 YOU COULD USE $90.00 FROM THE $1500. AND YOU NEEDED TO PAY THE REST $762.00. The excursion were also limited with what you could choose. Not all states are even in this listing of available excursions. DON'T PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

I purchase a Bluegreen Vacations holiday appropriately 2 years ago. I have had 3 procedures on my right knee including knee replacement. Called to cancel my planned vacation as having another surgery just before the expiry period. Was told the cancellation period was within 30 days of purchase. Nothing they could do. I told the representative that I could provide medical documentation but no refund would be availed. Was told for $25 I could extend my vacation another 3 months. Suggested that I would rather write a bad review than spend another $25. At that point a free extension was offered. This is an inexpensive holiday option that requires listening to a sales presentation. Don't do it!

Took vacation, nice lodge went to freezing presentation (heating bill not paid), got monthly payment within my budget. Interacted with 4 people who chose not to fully disclose there were hidden yearly expenses totalling 3000.00. Made call to accountant who informed me of hidden expenses which prompted me to read paperwork. Found hidden expenses and paper indicating how to cancel agreement within 5 days buried in paperwork. Short story contract canceled via notarized, certified, overnight delivery mail within 5 day time frame. Do not buy timeshare without reading paperwork. I also came home sick because of frigid conditions in the office. Oh and by the way these people are associated with Bass Pro Shop.

We received a call we had ‘won’ a vacation package. First mistake I made was to let go of the fact they wanted a deposit for this ‘prize vacation’. I was offered 3-night stay in a few cities, we chose Las Vegas. I was explained I needed to attend a 90-minute ‘presentation’ and after that we were free to enjoy our stay. Second red flag was that upon arrival we were told there was no availability in their property and given a voucher to stay in a very bad (oldest still standing) on Vegas Blvd. After I complained and escalated they ‘magically’ found a room on premises. Room was nice, though it had roaches. Following morning we attended the presentation and politely said we were not interested in the $45,000 dollar vacation package (then flurry of ‘supervisors’ trying to sell, really hard) ending up being 3 1/2 hours total.
As an incentive we were told the $300 we put as deposit would be given back as ‘gift card’ but at the end we were given something entirely different, a ‘Dining Advantage’ card ‘equivalents’ (not true) to the $300. It's an app for discounts, using your money. It's a very limited amount of off-brand establishments giving buy one get one deals (same you find in mail or Sunday paper, worthless). Also an additional 2 night stay in one of their properties in another city. We took this offer and were offered 2 nights in a fleabag motel (Red Roof Inn Addison TX) or if we paid more we could have had a better option. Very bad experience. Finally we were also gifted a short cruise but given all the experiences have been bad I am not sure I want to risk it. If there is one thing you remember from this review, please avoid Bluegreen Vacations like the plague!

This company is horrible!!! They catch your eye by telling you that you will get this beautiful on land stay and then a free cruise aside from taxes. They give you this all for a low price as long as you attend the lecture to try to sell you a timeshare. They lie to you the entire time! We were promised we would be staying at a 5 star resort, but when we arrived they had us placed at a crappy hotel that was under construction and smelled like mold!!! We were told that my mother in law could transfer the cruise voucher over to my fiance and myself, and we would be able to book the cruise.
Once she did this, we went to book the cruise and had to pay only a $100 less than full price when it was supposed to ONLY be for taxes. We were told by the cruise company that BlueGreen lies to their customers about the cruise to try and get customers to buy their timeshares! This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a company, and BlueGreen told us there is nothing they can do to fix the issues we've had. We will NEVER use this company again, and I highly recommend no one else use them!!!

My wife and I won a vacation from a car entry inside a mall. We drove 1.5 hrs to sit through their presentation. Got our package and left. They also gave us a 3 night stay in their hotels as well. This past weekend we had an event in Dallas to attend. Cool, we will just use the hotel stay. Wrong!! Here is where it gets shady. You have to go a 3rd party website to claim it. No big deal. But what is a big deal is you have to pay $100 deposit before the date calender is VIEWABLE!! There were no openings until April. So we was unable to use it this past weekend. Ok fine, let's just do a stay-ca. Galveston sounds good. Too good to be true.
YOU CAN'T PICK 3 CONSECUTIVE DAYS!! You get 1 day, per month, for 3 consectutive months. Example..1 day in March, 1 day in April, 1 day in May. You also have to pay $18-$25 per night. No biggie but your stay will be at a choice hotel affiliated hotel...not one of the resorts! Your deposit is non-refundable once you select your dates. Luckily, they offer the hotel stays here in town so we are going to use up the days...3 months in a row. I wouldn't doubt it that the free vacation booking will follow the same suit!
