Made a reservation with points and were told we had until 9p to cancel. Called at 815p to cancel only to find the (p deadline was Eastern time, so office was closed.) Were not told we could cancel online anytime before midnight. Called next morning to cancel reservation and were told there would be a $75 fee if cancellation over the phone or $60 if cancelled online. They refused to waive the cancellation fee twice, despite their not communicating the prior deadline time properly nor the online option. So, I'm out $60 because they did not do their job! By calling twice, I gave them ample opportunity to do what was obviously the right thing, but they refused. Do NOT ever buy a Bluegreen timeshare, EVER!! Run as far and as fast as you can from any and all sales pitches, etc. from Bluegreen. It is a huge ripoff, that only begins with unfair and inappropriate cancellation fees.

Bluegreen lied to and has gone out of their way to deceive us. We now have 3 loans and 3 contracts with them, the original, along with 2 upgrades. Bluegreen promised us they’d be combining all our loans, and the upgrades were attempts to correct the original contract. Clearly, that didn’t happen, now I have 3 separate loans with a total balance in the tens of thousands. Prior to each of the upgrades, the salespeople pulled us aside and told us not to mention the combining of loans, especially because the signing was being recorded. In hindsight, this was a ridiculous request, and we should have asked questions, but were naïve on how timeshare worked at the time. The salespeople clearly knew what they were doing to deceive us and now we are stuck due to the unscrupulous actions of the sales team. We sent a letter to their corporate office outlining all the problems with the contracts and loans and yet to hear back.

Last year, my wife and I fell victim to the deceptive practices by Bluegreen and their sales associates. From the initial promise of a free vacation in exchange for a short presentation. During the presentation, the sales agent painted an enticing picture of affordable and flexible vacations with Bluegreen. False promises of passing on property deeds, free vacations, and reduced maintenance fees were used to lure us in. We were trapped for hours, exhausted and fatigued, before reluctantly accepting an offer that stretched our budget.

The clapping and celebration that followed felt like a calculated tactic to pressure others in the room. We were rushed through signing documents without being given crucial information, and our rights to cancel the contract were not disclosed. Months later, during a new owner's orientation, we were subjected to further manipulation. The salesperson and manager expressed shock at the "great deal" we received and attempted to upsell us at an exorbitant cost. They even proposed refinancing the loan with vague promises of better rates. It is crystal clear that Bluegreen and their associates engaged in fraudulent practices, exploiting our desire for family vacations and capitalizing on our vulnerability. We demand the cancellation of our contract, a full refund, and to sever all ties with this disreputable company.

Bluegreen Vacations will lie and manipulate you into signing a contract. They will lie to you about EVERYTHING from how much open availability they have, all the way down to not disclosing the financial obligations that you will be responsible for once the contract has been signed. I cannot believe such a large company would steal money from its customers. This whole company is a SCAM. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY “GIFTS” FROM THEM. It will not be worth it! AVOID BLUEGREEN AT ALL COSTS!

Walked into Bass Pro and a Bluegreen Vacation Rep sold me and my family on a 4 day 3 night vacation in Branson Missouri at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson, lakeside, 4th or 5th floor according to the rep. I was then told to verify my account details at home and I would get specifics about date windows. Few days later I get an email tell me my dates were set and my room number was selected. The problem was they had my family staying in a 1-star, partially condemned, roach infested, decrepit roadside motel, 75 miles away from Branson.

Called customer service to cancel and was hung up on multiple times. Sent a signature receipt, tracked USPS mail. Bluegreen ignored the USPS mail requesting cancellation and refund. Called VISA, filed a dispute, and got a call within 24 hours from Bluegreen rep. The Bluegreen rep asked why I didn’t like my vacation. I told him I didn’t appreciate being sold on a Chateau on the Lake getaway and then having the rug pulled out from underneath me and being told I would be staying in a falling apart roadside motel. Blue green rep then said “I thought you’d be the kind of person to enjoy that kind of accommodation, hahahahahaha.” The lake of professionalism and openly dishonest, scam-like nature of this company is mind boggling. Fortunately VISA has stepped in and is forcing the cancellation and refund, otherwise I would have been 100% ripped off.

This organization does not tell the truth from the moment they try securing your vacation. In fact with as many bad reviews I am surprised the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Chamber of Commerce does not hold them accountable. So, my wife and I were booking a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. We love going there, it is usually a pretty fantastic vacation. This year we decided to use part of the week we get to have our four grandchildren down for grandscamp, to take them to Dollywood and other great places around. We happened to get an "invite" for a three night, four day RESORT vacation. I think for the entire three nights we paid 250 dollars or something like that. Not a bad deal.

I told the lady booking our trip that we needed a suite big enough for six people, which included our four grandchildren. They said, "no problem, our suites have a pull out couch and will sleep six. We left the Chattanooga area after I got out of my office around 530pm. Everyone excited to embark upon our long weekend getaway. Well, our resort suite was not that at all. It is actually a two star hotel with two queen beds... and that is it! I do not stay in two star hotels. But by the time we ate dinner and got to our hotel and got checked in, etc... it was after 10pm. What at 10pm were we to do. Long story short, my grandson said he was willing to sleep on the floor. God bless him, what a trooper.

I went down to the front desk, as they had zero rollaway cots. They said they could give me three comforters. So we made the best and got three thick comforters and made a bedding area for him on the floor. I began calling the Bluegreen folks at 0830 the next morning. I spent more than five hours on the phone with different people. They tried telling me this was acceptable. I told them it was not even close to acceptable accommodations. We would remain on hold for 45 minutes and longer at times. They consistently would say, that it has been elevated and we will hear from someone soon. It is now 11pm. I have not received one call from them all day, nor one email. They said the leadership knows my name when I call in.

Sure they do, they all told everyone who may answer the phone to appease us and string us along. There is more to this story. But I do not want to waste any more time as this organization has wasted a lot of my time already. They are liars. I did not purchase btw. I read about a class action suit Military Veterans has against them for deceiving them. I stand with my brethren in arms. I will not give this organization one penny. And I call for all US Military Veterans and Active Duty to boycott this organization for being deceptive and smiling at you when they do it. Check out the class action suit for deceiving Veterans by not disclosing proper interest rates.

Bluegreen has lied, deceived, and manipulated us into signing a contract. They told us all these great benefits, and “how this is the most cost-effective way to travel”. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEIR LIES! You’re going to pay thousands of dollars JUST LIKE WE DID, for something WE CANNOT USE, BECAUSE THEY NEVER HAVE AVAILABILITY. The biggest joke is that they said we can rent out our timeshare for a profit, but if we can’t get a reservation for ourselves, how in the world can we rent it? So, this is clearly not the real estate investment their salespeople promised. They didn’t care about our financial situation, they just cared about themselves! Bluegreen is VERY UNETHICAL and doesn’t have a single ounce of integrity in them! Watch out for their support staff too, as they are trained on how to back up the salespeople’s lies.

We attended a timeshare presentation offered by Bluegreen Vacations during a two-day stay at their Patrick Henry Square property in Williamsburg Va. My husband was approached by a rep at Bass Pro Shop and offered a discounted stay at any property plus a $50 gift card. In addition, we would receive another $100 gift card if we sat through 2hour presentation.

We attended presentation with attitude we were not going to purchase anything and fortunately held fast to that. We sat through the presentation and then we’re taken to a cubicle where we were presented with two vacation package options. One package was $17,000 that we could purchase for so much down and finance the rest over 10 years at 17 percent interest which is absurd and I told the rep that. In addition, you have to pay $1,000 yearly maintenance fee which apparently increases each year (though the rep failed to mention that). In addition, this timeshare is forever, so your heirs are stuck with it. While the sales rep was courteous and professional, her manager could not grasp the fact that these packages were beyond what we wanted to pay. She was extremely condescending.

I think they gave up on us when I told them that $1,000 is half of what we might spend on a vacation and that we do not finance vacations at a 17 percent rate. I later discovered in reading reviews that it can be difficult to book a vacation at one of their resorts. However, if that is the case they have a partnership with Choice hotels where one can stay. However, I don’t consider that a great option and we generally do not stay at Choice hotels because they usually are not that nice.

They did show us a beautiful three-bedroom suite at the Patrick Henry location but I doubt it is used for vacationers as it was in pristine condition. I wish I would have thought to ask what the maintenance fees were being used for at Patrick Henry because it had a tired and somewhat dated look to it. If anyone ever considers buying a timeshare, do your research. I have never heard anything good about any timeshare so we went to presentation with the mindset that we weren’t going to be pressured into buying anything. We did receive the gift card which was a good exchange for our time of 2 1/2 hours. I actually think they were glad to get rid of us as I wasn’t all that quiet in trying to tell them no. But you have to be forceful or they won’t let you go, judging from the reviews I read afterwards.

My wife was approached in Cabellas for a vacation deal while we were shopping with our two small children. My wife specifically told the rep when we vacation we typically use Airbnb so we can have multiple rooms, a full kitchen and outdoor access. The rep said this would be perfect for us based on those factors. The rep showed my wife a beautiful resort with an incredible suite that the rep claimed we would be staying in for a small fee as long as we sat through a 2hr presentation after which we would receive a $150 Visa gift card. The rep pushed it as a benefit they’re sponsoring for veterans. As a family of veterans my wife was quick to jump on this deal as it seemed to be a no brainer at the time.

Fast forward a couple months and we were notified we would in fact NOT be staying at one of their resorts but a Holiday Inn down the street. Conveniently this was already past our cancellation deadline. My wife was frustrated but figured her and I can make the best of it and we would leave the kids with their grandparents. A few more months goes by and it’s time for our trip. At this point my wife is an unexpected 15 weeks pregnant and is having a rough pregnancy. Upon our arrival we asked if there was anything else available besides the Holiday Inn, the rep said no so we took our pass and headed to the Holiday Inn. We booked a king bed as I’m a very large man and my wife is pregnant and we were given a queen bed with a broken mini fridge in the room.

I drove back to BlueGreen and after laying into the rep enough he agreed to put us up in a partnering resort down the road (which I found interesting as he had told us earlier there were no other options for us). The rep also told us we were not the first people to get stuck in a Holiday Inn when promised a resort stay, pretty telling right there. We had to pay out of pocket to upgrade to a king bed when we arrived at the other resort where the girl checking us in said and I quote “It’s ** how Bluegreen lies to so many people”. Noted.

Now the 2hr presentation, also a lie, it was almost 5.5hrs long. We eventually sign up for a smaller package of 10K points as the salesman made it out as though we would be able to get multiple vacations a year in prime locations with this package. They gladly took our 3.5K down payment and sent us on our way. We get back to our room and start doing some research and come to find out that 10K points cannot get us ONE 7 day vacation during peak travel season. We immediately went back to cancel and called the customer service line to file a complaint.

The lady on the other line essentially blamed us for the entire thing instead of the fact their reps are misleading at best. Our reward for all this? Over FORTY calls from mortgage companies the following day despite Bluegreen assuring us they don’t share any information with other lenders. I could not possibly be more disgusted with this company and can assure you every time I’m in a Cabellas and see their reps talking to unsuspecting customers I will warn them to walk away.

We purchased this vacation package in June 2022, for $299.00. Between December of 2022 and April of 2023, we experienced multiple hospital visits and a death in the family. The end result of this chaos is equivalent to over $100,000 in medical bills. I called their customer service to ask for a refund for this vacation package because we will never be able to use it now, and we need every penny we can scrape together, for medical bills. The only solution they provided was to extend the time we had to use it. We have neither the time nor the resources for this option. I explained that we are on the brink of being homeless because of these medical bills and we need every penny we can get. I explained that even if they extended the time for another 10 years, we still would not be able to use this package. We do not have the physical or financial ability to do so. I even offered to send them copies of the medical bills to prove that I'm being truthful.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that they have supervisors, but they don't talk to customers on the phone. I tried to reason with them as much as I possibly could, but they aren't willing to budge, even with extreme unforeseen circumstances. We didn't just change our mind about taking a vacation; it just became an impossibility. Just want a simple refund of my $299.00.

Bluegreen approached us and offered us a $100 Visa gift card for sitting through a 1-hour presentation. The $100 Visa gift card WAS NOT WORTH what we got ourselves into with them! It’s non-stop lies, misrepresented benefits, and deceptive sales tactics that have caused us to sink into more than $14,000 in debt, for literally nothing because we’ve only been able to use this once (twice, if you count the trip we took to one of their resorts, but paid out of pocket by booking online). We’ve searched for availability numerous times and have never found any destination worth traveling to. We were there for hours being tortured by the 3 sales reps over the course of 4 hours, after we were told this wouldn’t be more than 30-45 minutes.

Manipulation and lying to people to get them to purchase a timeshare is the only means through which Bluegreen can sell their timeshares, as they are practically worthless, difficult to use, and far more expensive than traveling through regular means. These incredibly dodgy sales tactics and behaviors are nefarious, something that got Bluegreen in legal trouble in 2016. They have clearly not learned anything from that class-action lawsuit and, instead, have chosen to continue these "high-pressure" sales tactics, all the while making all sorts of false claims to get anyone to purchase a timeshare.

I'm going to be honest, we have enjoyed some of the benefits of our Bluegreen vacation. We've taken vacations that we wouldn't have if we didn't have bluegreen points that we didn't want to lose. Hawaii was beautiful, Tennessee was memorable and so many more vacations including Aruba that we would not have taken if it weren't for Bluegreen.

With that being said, every time they tell you they want you to attend an "owner update meeting" they're pretty much telling me as an owner that I need to upgrade. It is not an hour long meeting, it usually ends up being 3 hours in the hot seat, and us repeatedly saying no and them continuing to bully us or putting a new amount on the table. They started off with $44,000 that we needed to upgrade, and then went as low as $10,000. Now while we are owners and enjoy what we already have every time we take a vacation they want us to attend one of these ownership meetings and it just consists of bullying tactics in my opinion. Our latest ownership meeting was March 2023, this was awful. I was exhausted after this meeting.

Lastly, they said things like our points will never change in price, and our ownership is paid for our maintenance fees have gone from $1,200 a year to $1,900 a year. Again we enjoy the vacations, not all of the resorts are updated or beautiful but the areas that we visit are, And we have enjoyed our ownership just not the tactics by bluegreen to bully the already owners to pay more.

As business owners, we are appalled by Bluegreen Resort’s activities, we truly wish we had seen what they were doing to us much earlier on. We have now been victimized multiple times in multiple states, so it is obvious that these fraudulent tactics are not only common but part of their business practices. We have officially requested to be released from five separate contracts at this point, all sold to us under incomplete, false, or misleading information.

Please understand that these salespeople, will quite literally, talk over you, make up their own definitions of the product they are representing, and lie directly to your face. For example, the following statements, concepts, and “benefits” are based on lies and half-truths. You can travel the world over, maybe, but not with Bluegreen, only through costly exchange companies like RCI. All these properties can be booked without the benefit of timeshare contracts or exchange companies. You need to use our financing, or you need to open a credit card to own…this is a huge costly mistake that you might not be able to remedy.

This is a one-time offer, only good today…this is a load of crap! And even if you fall for that, you have a right to rescind your contract LEGALLY. In nearly every aspect, key details of timeshare ownership were omitted from the presentations repeatedly. Shame on you, Bluegreen Resorts for relying on false advertising and deceptive sales tactics to do business.

Bluegreen made promises of going on Disney Cruises and going to theme parks using the points we purchased from them. We were so excited about this perk and one of the main reasons we purchased. Later, we had found that this was a lie. They also told us we could generate rental income. Prior to doing that I booked a reservation for one of my kids and they wouldn’t check them in because they weren’t owners. So, get this…They pitch rental income, but in order for me to rent it out, I have to be there at check in to show my ID so my renters are able to check in. Do they expect me to fly around the country every year to check in a renter…It’s so ridiculous that it is par for the course at Bluegreen.

This along with many other misrepresentations, was the reason why we purchased in the first place. We were pressured to purchase with all of these lies and ended up being stuck with this timeshare that has cost me $7,000 and I still have a remaining loan balance of $11,900. For what, lies? They did not even disclose the things that they were legally supposed to, like the legal cooling off period or the trust in lending statements. It looked like a resort I would want to stay at. We checked in and were given our key. The room had one queen sized bed and the A/C didn't work. If you turned on the air it made a loud screeching sound. No big deal. I went to the lobby and was told "Sorry there are no more rooms". I asked about paying for upgrades, paying to stay at another resort as there are 3 or 4 in Branson. The answer didn't change. I was told to call the main number and sort it out with them.

After a 45 minute phone call they refunded me my upgrade price and kept the cost of the vacation because there is only a 30 day cancellation policy and I booked in December. I showed up excited and ready to relax. Blue Green basically gave me an ultimatum of lose my money or sleep in a small room with a queen sized bed and no air. RUN away! RUN now and never look back! We were sent on our way with the sun going down and nowhere to stay. We found a place on the lake just as storms rolled in. Later that night there was a tornado on the ground right by us that killed 5 people. BlueGreen did their best to help us join that death toll. It's a small amount of money. My husband purchased a Bluegreen vacation for me for Mother’s Day 2 years ago. Life happened and I forgot about it. Finally booked a 4 day, 3 night stay in New Orleans. Of course the day after check in we had to sit through a sales marketing presentation. Get to the end and a skeptical but fill out paperwork to have only my “FICO score” checked to see what our numbers would look like. Our sales person walks us to the front doors as we were on limited time due to having a swamp tour scheduled. Leave there and get notifications my credit has been ran as a MORTGAGE INQURY. Go back to the next to discuss the matter. No one knows why. I let it blow over and inform them We do not wish to proceed with the purchase. We are walked to the front desk to receive our TWO $50 gift cards they promise for sitting through the presentation. The gift cards are mysteriously gone! No one can find them.

My husband and I are then asked, repeatedly, if we’re sure we didn’t come back yesterday and get the gift cards. As if we came all the way from Indiana to New Orleans to steal two $50 gift cards. Smh. My husband advises them not to ask us that anymore as we have answered the question three times already. Meanwhile, our ** counterparts are looking on as they receive their gift cards and go on about their day. Finally after about 20 mins, the manager comes out with the most insincere apology I’ve ever heard and offers us ONE $50 gift card. We decline and instead ask for corporate's number. Leave again and call corporate to inform them of what has taken place. Corporate agrees the account says two gift cards and tries to contact that manager but she’s “gone.” We will get a call back while they look into the matter. Whatever, we go on to enjoy our vacation.

Fast forward two days. We’re at home & my husband calls corporate again. The lady is apologetic and says she will issue the gifts cards and look into the incident with said manager. Then I check the mail and what do you know, there’s a letter from Barclays advising I have applied for a Bluegreen credit card with them. Um…I DID NOT!! So not only do I now have a mortgage inquiry because of them, now I also have a credit card inquiry! I call the credit card company and give them the run down. They flag my acct as fraudulent and advise it should be removed from my credit in 30-45 days. Then, here comes FedEx dropping off an envelope…with ONE $50 gift card. Smh. Sounds nice to only pay taxes and fees on a hotel room. But I would have rather just paid for my room rather than deal with this headache Bluegreen has caused me.

In short, I booked this Bluegreen vacation in September for my mother and family to have a nice vacation. My mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2021 and after a painful journey of chemo and radiation, went on home hospice in June 2022. I quit my job as a Primary Care Provider, Physician Associate, to move home to Tulsa OK and take care of her. This vacation at Big Cedar was affordable for our situation, and within driving distance, so it seemed like a good idea. From the get go, we were lied to about the package and mislead about many features of this experience.

Upon buying the blue green vacation package, we were told we would likely be able to get in within one month, which was important since we had no prognosis for how much time she has left. They said we had no way to check availability until we purchased the package. Once we did, we found the soonest booking was over 3 months away. Thankfully, she has lasted this long, though is declining in strength, energy, and having vastly increased pain.

We arrived Monday 1/30 in a terrible storm, almost crashed our car coming in, and arrived to a resort with no restaurants, no access to outside resources, and no phones or lines of communication to Big Cedar resort. Upon check in, we found out we were lied to on the phone about many of the amenities and room features we were promised.

If this were a regular vacation, I promise I would not be so upset about these issues. But given this could be my mom’s very last vacation, and that my grandmother, my partner, and myself need a much needed respite from caregiving and the weight of this situation.

Things we were lied to about when we had our reservation made and upon confirmation of the reservation, where I spoke with Mikel (407-587-8511) 3 weeks ago:

-We were told we would have full access to all resorts and amenities of each resort on the property, which we found out upon check in was not true.
-Access to shuttles to take us all over the resort. We found out no shuttles come to paradise point, which is a big deal since my mom is mobility impaired and can only walk short distances, but wanted to have freedom to explore (She cannot drive due to her condition and high doses of pain medication).
    - We were promised the room would have 2 Jacuzzi tubs, which we hoped would help my mom with her pain and help the rest of us relax. There are no bathtubs in the room at all.
-We were told on confirmation that the resort would do something special for her to make this trip special, and nothing has been done.

-Told there would be a large breakfast at the vacation presentation, which I showed up to and there was no breakfast or food at all.

Since we have been here, the heated pools have been cold, the hot tubs have been closed, and we have had to drive in dangerous conditions to get groceries. This was partially paid for by money donated to her through a gofundme, which makes me feel sick that we were lied to and taken advantage of given this situation. I called customer service and spoke with an Andrew who would not help me on the phone, would not file a complaint, and would not direct me to anyone else to speak to. At the end of the day, we were lied to, and I cannot recommend this organization.

Little did we know, one trip to Bass Pro Shop would be the start of a never-ending nightmare. Bluegreen Resorts had approached us at a Bass Pro Shop offering us a vacation package that was extremely affordable, so we purchased it. It was not until AFTER; they had told us this trip comes with a mandatory sales presentation. This was the first slimy thing they did. The presentation is where it went all wrong. They had told us it would be an hour, when we tried to leave after the hour, they would not let us and ended up keeping us there for FOUR HOURS until we had purchased something.

We finally decided to purchase just so we could leave. But in the end, we tried to convince ourselves that we made a good purchase. SPOILER!!!! We did not. They lied to us about the timeshare we purchased and almost everything about it. They never disclosed many things that should be legally disclosed to the buyer in this process. Overall, Bluegreen has shown us their fraudulent ways and at the end of the day, I will warn anyone and everyone of their lies. DO NOT BUY THESE VACATION PACKAGES AT BASS PRO SHOPS!

My husband was talked into buying into their vacation to be sold timeshare. At the time, there was nothing mentioned about Timeshare. He asked what the catch was and was told over and over again that there was no catch for this. Once I got the paperwork home is when I saw the information about the timeshare. I then went online to book our vacation and was told that we had to have a major credit card AND and credit score of 600 or above to be able to attend our trip. I was then told that I could have someone else put their name on the time share and come along with myself and my husband on our vacation that had the credit card and the credit score. I said I did not want to do that since we would be going for my birthday and to just refund the money. I did tell him that the gift card that was given to my husband at the time of purchase was used and he said that was no issue it was complementary and that I would be getting back the full refund.

After he puts me on hold, he comes back and says that a less amount would be refunded since my husband used the card. I informed him that is not what he just told me and that I was not getting accurate or complete information all the way around. I am STILL getting told that I am not getting my full refund back after I was already told that I would be. We received a mail notification of our stay which had been changed to a 3 night stay. We were told that we wouldn’t be required to pay any other hotel charges. When we arrived at the hotel we had to pay $70 in taxes and $45/night for parking security. We were told we had a year to use the free stay. We were told we would receive a $25 American Express Gift Card just for listening to the phone promotional sale. Our mail notification stated we had to book our stay within 30 days in order to receive the $25 gift card. We were told the sales presentation would be no more than 2 hours.

On March 12, 2023, we attended the sales presentation. After 2 hours we told them we weren’t interested and ended up leaving after 3 hours. The sales manager agreed that Bluegreen Vacations should have covered the hotel taxes and parking. He had us fill out a form for corporate to review and someone would contact us within 2-3 days. It’s been 5 days and no call from anyone. I am going to continue to complain about this company via online/online/phone until I am reimbursed.

They told me I was rolling the new purchase into the old one, but they didn’t and now I have 2 loans and 2 contracted timeshares. The only reason I attended the first sales presentation with Bluegreen was because they offered me a discounted stay as long as I just attend a SHORT presentation. I was kept there for over 3 hours. They insisted I buy something that day. They pushed and pushed, and I budged because I could not handle their pressure anymore.

ALL THE PRAISE regarding the ownership of their timeshare, was false. During the presentation, I had felt confident in what I was buying because I had misguided trust in the salespeople, but I was wrong. The Bluegreen sales team cannot be trusted. They will lie and scam you into never ending debt and deliver very few of the benefits (if any) that they promise.

Zero hospitality can be found at Bluegreen Vacations. If you think for one second that you are safe, just because you are in the Smokies Mountains away from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by good folks. Heads up, you are a sitting duck. WE KNOW! They have conned us out of over $100,000 and counting. We went on what we thought would just be a weekend getaway and were bullied into 5-plus hours of browbeating, high-pressure sales tactics. Our IDs were confiscated and then we were belittled.

In our case, Bluegreen's employees refused to accept our rejection and use harassing tactics like teasing us about being cheap and being silly for letting money stop us from taking our dream vacations. During the first presentation, we were very explicitly told that Bluegreen has a partnership with Disney. Through that partnership, we'd be able to not only stay at Bluegreen properties but also at the Disney resort in Orlando. Of course, this was one of many lies.

One of the main pitches thrown at you by Bluegreen employees is that these are not timeshares. "Don't think of these as timeshares and get that thought out of your head!" These are, instead, properties for us to invest in. This is real estate, not timeshares, in other words. We could rent out our timeshare freely as we'd like and even use that money to pay our loan balance, maintenance fees, etc. As property owners, we'd see our investment pay itself almost immediately. All this is even facilitated through Bluegreen, but none of that ended up being true.

Bluegreen employees will try to loop you into their own internal lies and go so far as to suggest that we misrepresent facts about our income to get a better interest rate and lower monthly payments. During all our applications, financial information was changed without us consenting to it or agreeing to it. It was simply done by the closing agent, and it would not be until reviewing the contract that you catch onto this. Listen, if there was something redeeming to say, we would, at this point, we just wish we had never heard of them at all.

Regardless of your circumstances, if you already own a timeshare, especially at Bluegreen Vacations, you need to understand that you are a target for greedy salespeople. Unfortunately, now, they clearly are operating like big businesses that take advantage of all, but especially the elderly. Although I am old, I understand that I was duped into believing that an upgrade could lead to revenue generation through rental to friends and family.

They did not tell me the long-term cost of the upgrade. Rather than going through the required financial and lending documents as required by law, they probably figured they could get away with not disclosing it and unfortunately, they did. Instead, they got me to opt out of a paper contract, further confusing me by handing me a CD-ROM, to review the contract. Giving someone my age and income, a 15.99% interest rate, and an increase in maintenance fees of over $1,000 is usury, especially when those fees were just a bit more than $100 before the upgrade. I was clearly taken advantage of. The salespeople were acting predatory, and this is heartbreaking. I’m under a lot of stress because of this and it’s not fair, not at my age. As we were on the tail end of our vacation at the time, the thought of getting to come back to the area at a deeply discounted room rate was intriguing. In hindsight, as much as we are fans of Bass Pro Shops, it is unsettling that they would allow what is clearly a TIMESHARE SALES SCHEME to be connected to their good name. In truth, Bluegreen is leveraging the reputation of Bass Pro Shops, in order to elevate itself in an unethical way, in our opinion. These Bluegreen employees station themselves in the store to sell mini-vacations and 2/3-night stays for practically nothing with the hitch that you simply have to “attend a presentation.”

Although we arrived for the presentation at the instructed time, we were made to wait far too long for a salesperson. He immediately dove into a “survey” about what our wants and needs were regarding travel and vacation for our family. We now understand this was nothing more than the fuel they needed to manipulate us into thinking they cared. In fact, it was how they “customized” the presentation to lure us into a false sense of security. This, combined with flat-out falsehoods related to availability, flexibility, costs, and fees - topped off with the implications that this is a “real estate investment,” equated to our being locked into an expensive contract.

We are not stupid people. In fact, I bet most people who own a timeshare aren’t. However, we were simply taken advantage of and manipulated while trapped in a situation for over 4 hours with a cast of characters who introduced themselves as former therapists and reverends. We were rushed through the signing of the contract and misdirected and distracted whenever we had questions, especially ones related to costs, availability, and financing. These are not ethical people. This is not an ethical business.

I purchased the timeshare in 2019 to use exclusively at the South Hampton Resort in New Hampshire. The sales representatives GUARANTEED that I would be able to stay at the resort, one full week, every single year, during the holiday season. To date, I have not been able to make a reservation at the resort during winter, spring, summer, or fall. I do not even own enough points for a weekend stay. They blatantly lied to me about what I was buying. Bottom line:

    • I was sold on buying the initial 3-day weekend for a hotel that was not available by the salesperson at the Bass Pro Shop.
    • I was told Blue Green was a vacation club and not a timeshare, so they were very different.
    • I was told with 5,000 points I could get a week or close to a week of time off season.
    • I was told that booking New Hampshire every year would not be a problem as long as I booked in advance. I thought a year in advance was more than reasonable but, that did not work out.

    • I was not aware that the maintenance fees would continue after my death and become an annual debt nightmare for my family. I now realize this is an overpriced luxury.

Meaning of Fraud - A deception practiced in order to induce another to give up possession of property or surrender a right. This was the sales tactic used to sell me a timeshare property based on the oral agreement between me and the sales person that I would be able to exercise my right to consistently roll my unused points year over year so that I could use them at any future time without any restrictions by simply paying a point roll over fee.

I am now 6 years after my purchase date and told I cannot roll over any of my points year after year as they all have expiration dates on them! These expiration dates are conveniently tied to the bi-annual points that I am designated to gain every 2 years. This is the exact definition of EXTORTION - Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage. The act or an instance of extorting something, as by psychological pressure. Unless you go over your final sales contract, line by line and have the sales person initial every agreed upon point or have your attorney review their final sales contract which would take several days to distinguish between unfair sales practices/promises versus the actual final written sales contract produced at the time of finalizing the deeded process.

It would take a matter of days to close these deals instead of hours as they pressure you into purchasing points to use at one of their precious resorts. When in fact the number of points needed to redeem a stay at their resort far exceeds the value of points you accumulated. It is my recommendation that a consumer never buy from Blue Green vacations as it has been my experience their maintenance fees will always continue to go up and access to resort amenities is continuously being diminished either by ongoing maintenance issues and or so-called upgrades.

It is a deal - listen and use your brain - lifetime deal- tons of new hotels and resorts adding each year. With inflation - it is not a scam. The folks at the Sevierville TN location were five stars all the way. Shout out to Ronny - who did an amazing presentation. It was no pressure and just simply - he kept it real. I am 45 and worked in the hospitality industry for many years - and I can tell anyone - from what I heard - this was really a no brainer for me. I hope I am not naive - but I see the value in it. Breakfast was a no for me...but we were in walking distance of a local breakfast place. Hotel was right smack in the middle of everything - so that also was a plus. Would have loved to stay in a nicer dig though. The owner suite after signing up was also basic - I was expecting catered food - not chips and soda...so that was interesting to me. Presentation in the big group setting was about 2 hours - right about what was promised. What was not told - was the time - you would spend AFTER the presentation - to talk to the sales Rep and tour model units. Took me about 7 hours total. This location in TN had a special center for small kids to play games, eat snacks, color - and just hang out. There was adult supervision for that as well. In my opinion if you are still working, have children in school and don't have the luxury of being able to travel anytime you want, hold off on buying (peek seasons are hard to book). Also I would recommend paying cash, the interest rates to finance on timeshares is outrageous, you end up paying way more than what it is worth. This company just messed with us, it was a horrible experience. We bought the travel package, booked the hotel on the website, but when we arrived at the place, they sent us to a totally different hotel, my pregnant wife and I stayed in a horrible hotel, horrible accommodation. We still had to pay $200 in fees that they told me clearly on the day of purchase that it wouldn't exist, that at most some hotels charge for parking, but with the package everything is included.

I tried in every way to cancel and get my money back and without success, unfortunately we didn't have any help from any of the employees because they said everything would have to be done over the phone. Unfortunately we didn't check the reviews and videos of many people complaining about the same problem, this company should be shut down due to the fact that many people were deceived.

Just got off the phone with one of these lying scumbags. Of course didn't have my dates available, but could "upgrade me" for 4X the price of my initial investment. Turns out the resorts they advertise on their website cost WAY more than what they steal from you initially. Then when you go to book you find out those places cost MUCH more, and what you paid for was just a standard room in a 3 or a 2.5 star hotel/motel somewhere in the vicinity of the resort. Apparently you are STILL expected to attend their HIGH PRESSURE, 4 hour long sales meeting even after you have learned you have been cheated out of staying at a resort for a discount price. Decided to just take the lo$$.

Fortunately the master card I used in Nov 2021 has since expired, and they cannot use it to rob me again. If you gave these thieving pricks a credit card that still works contact your credit card company immediately and report your card as stolen. They will prevent you from getting robbed again by these charlatans. Going forward let's all try to remember the old saying we foolishly chose to forget: "If it sounds too good to be true it is."

I had the worst experience during the presentation. They tell you so many lies, then to activate a gift card they make you fill out an application but at that point, we didn't make up our mind to buy anything, then one of the managers stop the salesperson and told us, "If you want to buy the vacation program has to be cash or American Express" then they kick us out. My thought was how they change so much. Well for my surprise they pull my credit while I was in that presentation, they notice that I have not a good credit and they kick us out, but still pull my credit without my consent or commitment to buy them anything. I called Experian to report them and the only way to make a claim is with them directly so the credit report act don't even affect companies like this one. Is a shame this company nowadays still lying and scamming people with a bunch of lies. I will see if I can escalate this to a law firm or something, this is not real in 2022.

Read all the other reviews and believe them. To add to them; they shell game your "investment" to steal even more money from you. They break down your investment to several "investments" claiming it is required so you are invested in several properties you might want to stay at. In fact, this is to be able to charge extra fees. They even have an "optional" (built into your maintenance/whatever fee) where you can donate $5.00. What they don't tell you is that you will be donating $5.00 for each breakdown portion of your investment. I actually declined to donate $5.00 but when I went to look at the breakdown of the fees charged, there were 5/$5.00 donations listed for a total of $25.00. One $5.00 donation for each portion of my investment that Bluegreen broke down. This is the case for each fee they charge (administrative)(late fee-late payment fee of say $35.00 is now charged to each each portion of your investment - 5 portions at #35.00/each = $175.00 for your one late payment). etc... etc...

We wish we turned around and didn’t attend their timeshare presentation. They told us the presentation would last an hour but ended up lasting around 4 hours. They kept us there and pressured us, giving us a sense of false urgency to purchase. They gave us these false promises and told us things we wanted to hear like how it would be an investment, our kids can inherit it, discounted rates, etc. ALL FALSE. It is not an investment, our kids would be stuck with the timeshare and financially responsible, no discounted rates just increasing fees, no availability, and many more disappointing things that were never disclosed to us. At the end of the day, Bluegreen is a company that will target innocent people and take their money through deceptive sales practices.

Absolute scam of a business model. Not only were we forced to sit through a minimum 2 hour "presentation" (which actually was a face to face with a salesman for 90% of the time) but they were also very demeaning. There were several occurrences of where were told to "lighten up" and not be so "serious" about things. In reality, I'm walking into this with a full mindset on sales techniques and what timeshares are. Throughout the pitch they told us we needed to have a drink or a bottle of vodka on the table to relax. We countered with we are sober. They proceeded to bring up the fact that we needed to drink to loosen up.

On top of this, we don't travel much at all due to the stress it inhibits with our work. What happened? I pushed back and another sleazy salesman came over. Within two minutes this guy tried giving me life advice on loosening up and to have a drink. We repeated we are sober. Numerous times they mentioned when we have children... When we have children. Meanwhile my wife cannot bear children and this really upset her. This company does not care about anyone but their bonuses. You're essentially "roped" in with virtual points and a physical "deed" for no particular location. In theory, I'm paying tens of thousands of dollars for a piece of paper proving I'm a victim to this scam.

We upgraded several times over the years, always being told that we would have more/better travel options, yet it never pans out. Even being a Gold Member required us to make reservations at least 12 months in advance just to have HOPE of getting what we wanted. Changing our anniversary date (when we are allotted our annual points) even required buying more points.

You would think over the 3 years we were asking for that change they could have informed us it would require an additional purchase. After purchasing more points, we were told that it wasn’t necessary to make a new purchase. They would not take the unwanted points back. There have been so many unkept promises, lies, and omissions, it leaves my head spinning!

This whole setup is very deceiving & sketchy! We purchased a hotel package through a kiosk kinda thing at Cabela's in Illinois & all was good. We decided to book the St. Pete's Florida Location a few months after. We booked our stay online from a reminder we received from BLUEGREEN Vacations. All the amenities associated with the email show the Bluegreen Tradewinds location in St. Pete's Florida.

We arrive at the visitors center (across the street from the Bluegreen resort). We pick up our envelope & we are told that were staying at Cambria hotel in Madeira Beach.... Well that's not St. Petersburg (that was the location we signed up for). Madeira Beach was not an option when we signed on for this!! It was not mentioned at the time of purchase that you get shuffled off to another location/town (so make sure you have a rental car or you will be Ubering everywhere) OR BOOKING that the location is actually 'XX location' not at a Bluegreen Tradewinds resort in St. Petersburg!

After the welcome center they told us to go back to the resort to pick up our promised gift card & it was about 2:30 in the afternoon & nobody there.... That staff left for the day!! So we had to come back to get it & we asked the woman at the Bluegreen Tradewinds vacation kiosk if we can come back to hang out for the day & the answer was YES! Every time we asked that question it was a YES! 3 different Bluegreen tradewinds reps said YES OF COURSE! We got a 3 day parking pass to use at Bluegreen Tradewinds St. Petersburg so we didn't have to pay for parking while we were there, so fine we move past that & go to check in our hotel in Madeira Beach (Cambria) which in not directly on the beach I might add....But they don't tell you that either!

So on day 2 we went back to use the amenities that were offered at booking on their website & the parking pass to just be told that that is not allowed! That the amenities are for guests only! And of course we get looked at like we have 3 heads as if we're making it all up & the feeling of not being welcome was permeated everywhere we were! Customer Service was zero help. Just was told he was sorry for the miscommunication, there was no miscommunication or misunderstanding. What there was was a whole lot of was deceivement! False advertising & mis-leading!

What was the purpose of the 3 day parking pass??!! Makes no sense!!! 'Yes here is a 3 day parking pass for you to come & park in our lot & just sit in your car & not come in to use amenities even though you were told you could by 3 people the day before & it was IMPLIED you could but because you're not members enjoy your car in our parking lot." Also was told to contact my rep to let them know time of arrival and I also wanted her to confirm the phone call I received was legit because we were not comfortable with it. The rep did not answer, the second number I was given did not answer and when calling back the number from the lady that told me to check-in elsewhere, it was busy.

I Emailed my rep, who then sent an Email back an hour later with nothing helpful whatsoever. I called and Emailed once again and NEVER heard back from her. Being that we were already at our destination, we had to book a room at a different location on our dime. This is exactly what happened to me in 2018 and I have regretted taking that vacation ever since. What I bought is nothing like what was described to me. There is no exclusivity. In fact, it is quite the opposite. It is easier to book as a non-member, probably so they can trick those people to buy too! I was told I was making a real estate purchase that would help my credit which I have seen no improvement to.

The resort was nice, I liked being off the strip, and worth way more than the 300 I paid. My presentation was low pressure and was just a hair over 2h but basically as promised. Some people stayed behind longer to buy I guess but I left with all the info I need to consider it later. I think it’s a great product but It just wasn’t for me to purchase into at this time. I had a great sales person who definitely was persistent but that’s just sales and it was not in a rude way. I walked in KNOWING they would try to sell me something so I’m not mad that they attempted to.

When I got home I went back to the Cabela’s to see if they were hiring even because sure while I’m not a customer of the product yet, I definitely believe in it and like how they went about it. It’s safe to assume every sales location and every sales person is going to be slightly different. I expected Vegas to be much more aggressive but they even said "we know not even half of you may buy from us, we just want you to give us a open ear and a opportunity", so I gave them that and left satisfied. I guess just take everything with a grain of salt and remember for every bad review on here are 100 decent ones that never got posted and probably at-least 10 amazing ones that again, never got talked about.

Scam, scam, scam!!! While shopping at Cabelas, we were approached by a representative from Bluegreen Vacations with a deal for a “timeshare preview package.” We were offered a $250 4-day/3-night vacation in Pigeon Forge, TN with standard hotel room accommodations at County Cascades for 4 people, which also included a $50 Cabelas gift card and $200 entertainment gift card to be used at our vacation destination, as long as we attended a 2-hour timeshare presentation.

We explained that we have a family of 5 (which includes 3 teenagers), but were assured that we could upgrade to larger accommodations, so we bought the package and I called Bluegreen the next day and upgraded us to a 2 bedroom deluxe cabin at Eagles Ridge Resort, which cost an additional $860. On the day of our arrival, we were about 2 hours away from the check-in location, but 4 hours early, so I called Bluegreen to ask if we could check in early. They provided me with a phone number to what I assumed would be Eagles Ridge, but was shocked when it turned out to be Country Cascades.

As it turned out, the Bluegreen representative who “booked” my vacation waited almost a week before submitting my request and there was “no availability” at Eagles Ridge by that point, so they took it upon themselves to downgrade us to Country Cascades in a standard hotel room with 2 double beds and a sleeper sofa without ever contacting me to ask if that would be okay, which it most certainly was NOT. We were livid and I demanded to know what made them think it was acceptable to change our reservation without my approval, especially considering we had paid over $800 to upgrade and needed the extra room that the cabin provided. Instead, they expected us to be okay with being crammed into a tiny hotel room like sardines in a can for a week, while still KEEPING the extra money we had paid! They tried giving me every excuse in the book, but I was not having it.

I demanded a full refund, including the original $250 that we had paid, which they eventually agreed to. I called Eagles Ridge directly and was surprised to find out that they had an even nicer, bigger cabin available, so I booked it immediately for $740, which was $370 CHEAPER than what we would have paid through Bluegreen Vacations, AND we didn’t need to sit through a pressure filled timeshare sales presentation (which I’ve read plenty of horror stories about since getting home).

Thankfully our vacation wasn’t ruined, but it would have been if Bluegreen Vacations had gotten away with their bait and switch scam. Do yourselves a favor and stay FAR AWAY from the Bluegreen Vacation representatives at Cabelas (or Bass Pro Shops, depending on where you live). They should be ashamed of themselves for partnering with such a shady company. Side note, Eagles Ridge is only a “contracted partner resort” with Bluegreen Vacations, they are not owned by them, and Bluegreen only reserves a handful of cabins with them, so I don’t consider this any fault of Eagles Ridge. They were an excellent resort and worked hard to salvage our vacation for us. We would definitely stay there again, we’d just book directly through them.

If this is so great why they don’t own a timeshare. If this company is that good why don’t they let you try their products first and experience ownership before you buy. If you have 40k plus 1k to pay yearly fees , have additional money to buy extra points, Are flexible with your travel dates and don’t mind not getting the place you want. This could be good for you. I believe products sell by themselves especially a company that has been around for 59 years and has 210,000 members. It saddens me seeing 1 star reviews. As an owner I would definitely do something about this. I would like to see 5 or 3 stars reviews from long term owners.

While shopping at Bass Pro Shop I was approached by a Bluegreen Vacations salesperson offering a 3-day/2-night stay at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri. That right there turned out to be the worst decision of my life. If only I would have known that talking to the salespeople that day was going to turn into my worst nightmare, I would have minded my own business and kept walking. When we agreed to this inexpensive vacation, we were told we had to attend a 90-minute timeshare presentation. 90-minutes of our time for this sweet deal…sign us up!

When the time came for our vacation, we attended the meeting, and we were expecting something fast and calm with no pressure. However, that wasn’t the case - those shady salespeople immediately pressured us into purchasing a timeshare. They went on and on about how great it is to own a timeshare and fed us lie after lie! They know what to say and what not to disclose. The only people they cared about at that presentation was themselves, they worked hard to hustle us out of our money and throwing us aside once we signed the contract. We were lured and tricked into purchasing a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations, remember that name and don’t ever forget it or you’ll be sorry!

Bluegreen has caused me so much strife that I hate the fact that I cannot give them zero stars. I have never dealt with a more dishonest and deceptive company before! All they have done is rob my family and I of over $12,000 for NOTHING. I have tried a minimum of 2 dozen times to get a reservation and have only been able to take a single vacation. That’s definitely not worth $12,000!

What’s worse is that what I got was nothing like the salespeople described. When I was told my twin daughters would inherit the timeshare, I never imagined it came with the huge financial weight as well. Then there was the “Choice Privileges” account, which was SUPPOSED TO open up a ton of new vacation possibilities. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. Just as before, I can never get a reservation. Do not waste your time or money on this timeshare company. And please, for your own benefit, do not fall for ANYTHING they say. It’s ALL lies!

We cannot leave her for an extended period. Then we started getting threatening emails giving us a deadline to make a reservation. I asked, due to these unforeseen circumstances, if I could get a refund of the deposit. The person on the phone refused to listen. We were approached in Cabela's about a cheap vacation. The only catch was that we had to sit through a two hour timeshare presentation on one of the days. We chose Orlando and arrived at 8:40 for a 9:00am presentation. I wanted to get it out of the way early and go have lunch because I'm diabetic. We were still there almost six hours later. We said no multiple times. They wouldn't take no for an answer. We finally agreed to buy a 2 year package for $2995.00 but they kept coming back with more paperwork for $30,000 or $16,000 or $13,000. We kept saying no. They wouldn't let us leave.

We finally agreed to the $13,000 plan and gave them a credit card so we could leave. I am diabetic and my blood sugar was dropping fast. I had turned white and was clammy all over. We informed them of this. They STILL kept coming back trying to make us buy the $30,000 plan instead. Some woman finally came up and tried to book us for a learning presentation and then demanded we pay her $49.00 for a tutorial booking fee. That was the final straw. I couldn't believe the nerve.

We demanded our card back, said we were backing out, and wanted to leave. They STILL kept coming at us until I nearly collapsed from my blood sugar. I had to go outside to vomit due to that issue and they FINALLY gave us our card and let us leave. Do not fall for this. It will NOT be two hours. They won't let you say no. They won't let you leave. They'll bring a ton of people at you to spout numbers and pull up better "plans" for you and you will be kept there until they break you down. It took my blood sugar dropping to dangerous levels for them to allow us to leave. I wound up so sick it was crazy. They tell you two hours, which would have been fine, then six hours later they're still forcing their crap on you. SIX LONG HOURS for nothing.

I've never in my life experienced anything like it. I was blown away by how they treated us. It was revolting to waste valuable time that way by telling you one thing and doing another. If they promise two hours... it should be two hours. Some people, like me, have medical issues. And to then come up and demand $49.00 more for a tutorial trip was the straw that broke the camel's back. They penny and dime you to death at this place. They kept sending some guy from Aruba out to tell us he was going to talk to his boss for a special deal for us since he liked us and liked our 'dream vacation' goals. He'd come back with one package, we'd say no, he'd rush back to his boss because he 'cared for us so much' and then come back with other offers.

No matter how often we said no... it didn't matter. Even when I explained my medical issues and showed them my Insulin and needles... they kept going and going and going. It was a nightmare. I regret going to this place at all. All they want is money and to herd you around like cattle from one place to another until they break you down by keeping you there. It was sickening.

I had signed a contract with Bluegreen Vacations in Charleston, SC for one of their timeshares on February 22nd, having been enticed by an offer by a representative through Choice Awards Hotel for a 3 night stay at a 4 star resort. I flew to Charleston and rented a car for that stay and stayed at the Hampton Inn, Patriots Point, which is a 2 star hotel. The front desk clerk told me immediately that evening, having waited for over 2 hours at the airport for my car rental, that I needed to attend the Bluegreen timeshare presentation at 9 am the next morning. It was nearly midnight when I checked in and my luggage had been lost by the airlines. I couldn't make that meeting at 9 am, and ended up driving to the airport the next day at 2 pm to retrieve my luggage arriving on another flight. I scheduled it again the following day, February 22nd, 2022.

I should have known better than to have signed a contract with Bluegreen, as it seemed shady from the start, including the behaviors of the "sales team" personnel, the presentation, which lasted a good deal longer than advertised, and the sales agent himself, who after applying for a Bluegreen credit card from Barkley's Bank, was acting quite suspiciously it seemed. However, I did sign a contract for 16,200.00 for part ownership of a timeshare, which I intended to pay in full, once I returned home. The sales agent convinced me it was a "good deal."

After contacting one of their customer service agents, who I thought acted suspiciously, and then reading several reviews of Bluegreen on this website and others, I decided to terminate the contract and followed the protocol stipulated by South Carolina and Bluegreen on February 25th, well within the 5 day contract termination period.

I sent via return receipt certified mail my letter of notice of termination for my contract on February 25th and have kept a copy of that letter, and followed up with phone calls to their customer service representatives during the following weeks. At least 2 of their representatives initially verified the contract termination letter and assured me that no mortgage payments would be charged. However, having spoke to one of their other managers, he told me they didn't have the letter and to send him copies of the return certified receipt, which I did taking photos from my cell phone to him directly via email. He also told me that I needed to send back all documents I had been given and obtained during the contract signing process, which I did and had brought them to the post office to do so.

I have been in contact with one of their customer service management representatives, Kimberly **, who has verified turn of those documents with a photo of them sent to me in an email. In an email, she verified that my contract had been terminated. However, I have been getting written letters from Bluegreen Vacations informing me that my mortgage account is delinquent and that I need to pay for past mortgage payments, which is incredible. They have notified to credit reporting agencies of delinquent credit. I have stayed in contact with Ms. ** including the letter they had sent most recently, who assured me 4 days ago that she would "look into this immediately and haven't heard back from her yet.

I sent her another email this morning asking where things stand. I had also been contacted by one of their collection department representatives on the telephone, Stacy ** who informed me to send her a copy of Ms. **'s email as verification of cancelation of my contract, which I did. I followed up and an email back to Ms. ** requesting the status of my last correspondence with her, but her email address was no longer valid, according to notification from my gmail email account.

I had also sent a letter to their "mortgage research department," which included a copy of the February 25th notice of termination letter, a copy of the return receipt verifying they had received that letter, and a copy of Ms. **'s email verifying termination of my contract, on May 4th, 4 days ago. That was after receiving their last notice. That letter stipulated I had 30 days to respond to my "delinquent mortgage account," yet this morning I was alerted to reported delinquencies to the credit reporting agencies from Bluegreen Vacations Corporation. I called their corporate office this morning and left a message about this. I had tried several times in the past to contact their corporate office in Boca Raton, but their message machine informed me that they were out of the office because of CoVid-19. I certainly would have preferred never to have been involved nor introduced to Bluegreen Vacations timeshares.

They scammed us into this purchase, telling us how amazing their product is! What we’ve come to learn is that Bluegreen timeshares are inherently worthless, and are a scam used to drain customers of their hard-earned money. We fell for their sales ploy because they told us that the timeshare “would pay for itself as we would be able to rent out the property”, WHICH WAS A LIE!!

Our scheming salesperson told us we had to decide right on the spot or else the offer would never be available again. Of course, we didn’t want to miss out on all the benefits we were pitched so unfortunately, we agreed to the purchase. Once we tried to make reservations, it was a whole different story as the amount of points they sold us doesn’t equate to the spacious accommodations we were shown at the presentation.

I purchased this time share, and was very excited about it. I was told that I would be able to use my points to vacation in Hawaii this year and was quoted 5500 points for a 7 day stay. I was told that I would be able to take an African Safari next year (which was my driving factor for making this purchase) for 9500 point and that year after I could go to Australia for 6000 points. I have all of this in writing. I was also quoted trips to Mexico for 1500 points with "a small all inclusive fee". I was told that I would use these point through the partner RCI website. I was told that I had a 10 day cancelation period, in which I was never even given access to this partner site. I did call and attempt to book via phone in this period and was told that I would not be able to see availability or a point quote until I had RCI access. I trusted what I was told. I did not receive access to this website until day 15 after contract signing.

For the Bluegreen location in St. Pete Beach, I was quoted 6000 points for this for a 2 bedroom. Actually, even in the less-busy season a studio is 8000 with no view, 11000 with a view. I was also told that we would be able to use/stay at the resort in AZ "anytime". It's actually booked completely for the next 6 months. I was also informed that the sales rep at the time, Damon, was fired and "escorted out for making promises and lying" 2 weeks after he sold this to me. On day 15 I was given access to the RCI website. The Hawaii trip that I was quoted 5500 point was actually 13000. African Safari is not even an option. They do not have any resorts/campsites in safari areas. The only option would be South Africa (again, not a safari) for 10000-15000 points.

There is nothing even available in Australia, so I cannot even look at a point quote. Regarding Mexico trips, it's actually 3000-4000 plus the all-inclusive fee is the same as booking the resort on Expedia, not even using points. Now, I cannot get the cancelation department to call me back. The customer service is very nice. They keep "escalating" my case, but no one ever calls me back. I have been trying for 3 weeks.

Firstly, we really didn't appreciate the high pressure sales pitch for the timeshare buy in. They promised that it would not be high pressure. Several things they said were not true. They started out with 12 points for $36,000. My husband is a finance professor and knew that most of the things they said were dishonest. And the interest across the board was 17%. That's a red flag. They also used several text book sales tricks to bring you in by stating dishonestly how much money the buy in would save us. Never mentioning how much the cost would offset the savings.

The last straw that convinced us it was a scam was when my husband said no. Because when he said no a much better deal emerged. Then when he said no again, they offered 20 points for the same price they had given for 12 points. Also they asked us when we came in how we signed up for the presentation and we told them (each person we talked to) that we signed up at Bass Pro. So they knew that before we even sat down. I asked point blank that if they could give us the last offer for the same price then why didn't they offer that deal first. Their excuse was that at first they didn't know we signed up at bass pro. However, They knew that information upfront and the only thing that the new much better deal came after was the fact that we said no.

I do not want others with limited income to fall for this scheme and be locked in to paying such a high price with an interest rate that very much sounds like usury to me. And when we asked specific details and numbers they couldn't provide it. We got the run around. They said it was on their website but that was for members only. And we had to sign up immediately or we would not get the good deal ever again.

They don't want people to leave the high pressure sales pitch because they do not want you to have time to sort out the truth. If it were on the up and up they would show actual numbers and give people time to look at it. We Never got a straight answer. I try very hard to avoid doing business with people that I know are lying to me. Please be careful before you spend your hard earned money on this "vacation buy in". There are a lot of resources out there for discounts on travel. We know because we travel a lot and have visited 40 countries at discounted rates.

So, after another bout of numerous unhappy experiences dealing with your company, we decided we are going to let you all know how this company handles things. All of our meetings with the timeshare included the promise of great get-away vacation spots. The opportunity to book months in advance. Free get-away weeks. Able to sell our weeks/points to pay maintenance fees. 90-minute meetings lasted a minimum of 2-3 hours. Multiple salespeople presenting this is something wonderful and the ability to pass it down to our children. Sale people agreed to work side by side with us to book and manage our points effectively. What we got was the Inability to book resorts 15 months in advance as promised. Told we were in the top 1% of owners and wouldn’t have any issues in book anytime anywhere.

When booking our reservations we were promised certain rooms but upon arriving at the resort this wasn’t true. Requested rooms group for family events we were not close to each other or same floor. Special requests 15 months in advance for a presidential suite in a certain building were not meet was put in a presidential suite without a working stove, outdoor grill and foldout couch. The "ability" to leave it to our kids, wasn't a choice, they were going to get that handed to them either way no matter what their choice was. We could spend less money vacationing outside of our timeshare and actually be able to book a trip at the times we wanted to go.

The exchange rate through Choice plus or RCI was almost triple the rate and was subpar, to say the least. The maintenance fees are a financial burden for anybody since they rise each year. Resort managers were extremely unsympathetic to our needs. We arrived at certain resorts, and our rooms were unclean from previous guests. When reporting an item/equipment not working properly the maintenance would say “Oh we know it doesn’t work and has never worked” but yet it was specifically requested in our reservations. Then, when reaching out to get rid of this since nothing we were promised happened, we were told there is nothing we can do. You signed a contract. You owe us money.

They offered to settle for an astronomical amount that was laughable. Mike ** from the timeshare was just trying to get any type of money he could. We have major issues with Bluegreen and how they sold us. We are constantly forced to go to presentations on our vacations and all they try to do is sell you more and more points since we "didn't have enough to vacation how we wanted." With the number of points we have, this should not be an issue. We are continuously let down by this company and continue to this day. We will keep fighting for a release in any way we can.

We wish we never came into contact with Bluegreen or their salespeople. They will pressure you until they can not anymore and ultimately you cave. Making the deal sweeter and sweeter. When they know you will not get what they are promising. We have nothing good to say about this company. Word of mouth is looked at highly in these times. We will continue to use our voice until something is done in the matter. We are not a game to be won. We are not pawns to play with. This needs to be corrected fast.

We got suckered in at Cabela’s. Promised a 3 night stay at a list of cities for $179. They gave us a $50 gift card to use at Cabela’s and told us that when we arrive at our selected city that we would attend a 30 min session despite the contract saying 2 hours. They told us that we would get $75 gift card for Cabela’s after we attend the presentation. We went online to “book.” We selected city and dates and clicked Book. It said that we are booked and we would receive an email once the hotel confirms our stay. We never got an option to see the hotels and where exactly were we staying. Nothing. The number to call is closed on the weekends. We had to wait until Monday to call. Horrible experience! When we reported this with the sales agent at the presentation, Austin replied “we have nothing to do with that.” Yet, they claim they are #1 in customer service awards.

The presentation is 3 hours minimum. We had said NO numerous times and thankfully were able to walk away without purchasing anything. Mallory gave the presentation to the whole crowd. She was pleasant but doesn’t allow for any questions, of course. She’s been with Bluegreen vacations for 12 years yet she hasn’t been to her dream vacations. Makes no sense right there.

The sales agent meets with you afterward and we met with Sean and he was new and kind. However, we kept saying no. That’s when Austin came over and did not answer any one of our questions. He kept talking about what he wanted to and all the deals we would be getting this one time. We asked him to listen to our concerns and he walked away.

Our resorts were not in their book or on the RCI website. We picked one to get an understanding how much if any are we saving with going through them versus our way. Austin said there was no way to show us how many points that specific hotel with specific dates would be. It was all a huge waste of time. They sell you the 20,000 points for $75,000 but because you came to the presentation that day they will knock it down to $40,000. Do not buy into this. They don’t you tell you about the additional costs every year and the meeting you need to attend where they try to coerce you to purchase more points. Do not give in.

If you meet with the sales representative afterwards, let them know you will not sit and you do not want to buy or share the reason as to why either. You listened to the presentation and would like to get the free gift cards for your time and walk out to the waiting room. They will try to talk about your family, how long you’ve been married, your vacation destinations, your dreams… Do not answer any of these questions. Let them know kindly you want to keep that confidential and leave.

Stay away from Blue Green Vacations and ANY other timeshare package. They are all the same. Yes, you will spend the money either way but at least it’s where you want to go and when you want to go. Don’t listen to their lies. They will try every which way to get you the more you talk and share about yourselves. So don’t give them anything.

They have no intentions it ever getting back to them in the ten day period. We over nighted our letter. It was sign in the ten day grace period but still no answer. We have contacted severe county res of deeds, talk to Kathy, said she now is aware of the problem and she will pass it along, She also got a letter that we sent overnight so she also seen the lie they told us. She told me Tenn law says within thirty days not ten days you can get out of this contract. She also gave me attorney's name to fight this since we have a sign document within the ten days...

They know now how Bluegreen operates in their great State of Tennessee and another thing you need to stop using Dolly Parton name to sell your product. I do not think her name would want to be associated with this company if so I never watch anything of hers again.... so people stay away from these crooks. So we went through Bass Pro Shop in Kansas City. Upon arriving, we were told about our meeting the next morning and where to go. The supposed 2-hour meeting lasted twice as long. When we decided that their offer was not for us, they sent over three additional sales persons to tell us that we ‘are making a HUGE mistake’. They then proceeded to belittle us when we explained that we had priorities set to start a family. The salesman argued with me about the concept of this being ‘real estate’, rather than a time share (which it is). There was honestly a point where I hit my head against the table in frustration.

For attending the meeting, they gave us a $50 gift card and told us that we could use it towards any fees—such as room service—during our stay. When we went to check out, Bluegreen claimed that they ‘incorrectly informed us’ because they do not accept the gift card. Every situation with Bluegreen was exasperating and the weekend getaway was anything but restful. I would recommend staying at Big Cedar Lodge but would NOT recommend going through Bluegreen vacations.

I would love to give Bluegreen a ZERO-star review, unfortunately, that’s not an option. Taking them up on a 3-day vacation when we had no intention of buying a timeshare was a mistake. When we got to the resort to start our vacation, we had to attend a presentation for 2 hours, but it ended up taking much more of our day. Our saleswoman, Cheyanne, told me this was NOT a timeshare. When I had more questions, no one, including the supervisor, provided sufficient answers. The salespeople did tell me that there was a buyback program for this “investment” and that I was getting an exclusive military discount that was good for only that day. I was promised plenty of reservation availability and told that a 5-day vacation would typically cost about 2,000 points. As it turns out, it’s a minimum of 4,000.

During the contract portion, I was signed up for a credit card and not told what the interest amount would be. No one gave me time to read and understand the contract or look into the financing charges. I have since learned that only about $40 of the $220 I pay monthly is going to my debt, the rest is all interest!! Everything I was told was a fabrication to sell their “holiday homes”.

Exactly what one would expect. Flowery, common sense presentation extolling the virtues of an idealistic Time Share Ownership. Lots of consensus building and “Yes” questions, pie in the sky…. The unicorns were flying over rainbows by the end of hour one. Obviously, No questions are ever permitted during the 1st serving of the Time Share Kool Aid. Well done. Then, a human cattle drive thru a few staged properties that looked and smelled new… Very nice.. Of course. Nothing disagreeable here…except…if these properties are so nice, WHY did Bluegreen pay for us to stay in an off site hotel, with uncomfortable beds, 30 minutes away? Were they afraid we might talk to other “Owners” the night before they tried to close us? Hmm..…

Then, the interrogation designed to address our savvy Buyer objections…where tough questions about maintenance fees, and other fees not discussed beyond the amazing & low buy in fee were effectively dodged and dismissed as minor & irrelevant. Then, the pre-requisite probing question about whether we might consider taking advantage of their “Today only” great “1st time visitor” deal. Ha! I laughed. Why the urgency? What do you have to hide? Why the rush? No answer, beyond telling us “how many people said “No” on their first visit, and regretted it for the rest of their lives. Oh, I’ll bet! :D

So, then we hit the two hour point. I’d said NO, this sale is not going to happen today…half a dozen times at that point, and then our warm up Sales Rep excused himself to retrieve their Closer. She was a battle hardened Time Share Shark who had all the right questions…and answers…to overcome ALL savvy Buyer questions…. Except for mine. She met her match in a Buyer who relished being on the receiving end of high pressure sales. And then it happened. She informed me there was no need to be “rude.” Loved it, and doubled down. I reminded her that she promised us a “two hour” sales presentation, which we agreed to listen too, and now she was 15 minutes late and on OUR time…. And by that point I’d answered her easy questions, and politely said NO at least a dozen times in the past two hours, and she promised “no pressure” sales… So really, Lady….really…WHO is being rude here? Busted.

At that point, she stopped, she presented whatever they promised on top of the free three nights at a nice Hotel in Branson,. And, she effectively turned a “No” that might have gone to a maybe or a yes after some research…into a definite NO in the last 15 minutes of her high pressure pitch. I’ve since researched Blue-Green, with my network, and found one from who had a past with them as well. According to him, they talk a big game, but fall far short of delivering anything beyond headache & heartache. It was a NO before. It was a NO during, and it is a definite NO today. They got two hours and fifteen minutes of our time, and not a dime more. Buyer Beware. There is a reason they do not want you staying on their Property before they pressure-pitch you:

They do not want to chance current “Owners” telling you what Blue Green won’t. The only thing you own here is a mortgage and endless fees & interest that compound annually, but you definitely will never OWN any property on a Blue-Green resort. Ever. If you cannot sell or transfer property, then you are NOT the “Owner.” Owning a mortgage and annual undisclosed fees is not property “Ownership,” it is Time Share Ownership. Best of luck in your search!

The washer had scum on the agitator and the dryer was full of hair and lint. I called to the front desk they said they would send housekeeping, I explained the problem was bigger than that. So they moved us to another room. That was was dirty as well. Almost the exact same problems. I called to the front desk and they said that all they had. Not to mention we were promised a $100 gift card to talking to the sales people for one hour so we did. Mostly to complain about the nasty room. They apologized however nothing was done. We were shopping at Bass Pro Shops when we were approached by an employee of Bluegreen offering us a stay at Big Cedar Lodge. Since visiting Missouri is something that we have always wanted to do, we agreed to a 3-day stay. However, when we arrived, we discovered that we were not actually staying at the resort as we were originally promised. Instead, we were down the street at another hotel. In hindsight, this should have been a red flag to us! The meeting was at the resort and quickly became a high-pressure sales situation where we finally chose to purchase a trade-in unit because we believed that we were purchasing a piece of real estate.

Over the next 4 years, we would attend several owner update meetings, which were really just sales presentations in disguise. Each time we were told that our problems, like being able to book a vacation, would be alleviated with more points and a higher status. At this last meeting, we were attempting to add our daughter to the contract, on the advice of your employees. Thankfully, we were unable to do so as the employees would not allow us to do so without purchasing more points. At each of these meetings, we were told that these could be resold back to Bluegreen if we wanted and that we could refinance the loan at a bank of our choosing later. UNTRUE! Yet, they conveniently never told us the true cost of ownership, the interest rate on the loans, or that we had the right to cancel within a certain time period. The employees at this company are a bunch of liars!

At one point, near the end, we asked if we could stop the process as we were having second thoughts. Their staff told us that this was not possible because the contracts had already been prepared and mostly signed. Now, we have learned that we had a 10-day cancellation period allowed by Tennessee law. These people knowingly deceived us into keeping this contract!! Do not trust anything that they say. My husband and I were introduced to Bluegreen vacations through Bass Pro Shop. It seemed like a decent deal so we went for it and got a 3 night 4day stay for $250. We used it this past weekend in Vegas. The set up was nice. We had a full kitchen 2 bathrooms a master bedroom and a living room area. They also had a washer and dryer. The room was good but we knew part of the deal was to attend a presentation which should have been a few hours. It was scheduled at 2pm. We arrived early. Checked in. They assign a sales rep prior to going back with the group. She was nice and very personable. Asked us general questions about family etc..

So we go back with all of the people who attended this promo. We were all obviously aware this was a sales pitch. They had a lady explain who they are, the history of the company, how great and how many awards they recommend every year yada yada.. So this takes about an hr then we meet with the sales rep after and go straight into the details. I’m not an easy person to sell so I just listened. Ask questions. They pretty much create a vacation package for you based on points rather than days like a timeshare. It made sense until they hit us with the quote. Of course they try to sell you on the largest package which starts at $46k. I knew instantly I wasn’t interested so they kept coming back at us and lowering the price including all these great add ons and discounts. The head sales guy comes in and tries to really sell you on it.

So after about another 2hrs I’m over it. I keep telling them, No. I’m not interested. Thank you for your time," and he’s still pushing. He went from nice guys to wise guy and I can see he was taking it personal so he gets the big boss to come in and close and I stick with my gut instinct and tell him no. The other guy comes back with the original sales lady and she’s giving us a pity party about this package and the guy goes, "They said no. Get them out of here and give them their free gifts." I was starving and quite frankly annoyed with these people but after reading other people's reviews I’m so glad I did not sign up for the **.

Overall it was a place to sleep. We were rarely in our room and when we did decide to hit up the pool it was dirty and the hot tub was heavily chlorinated it was burning my eyes and I realized when I got out there was bubbles with brown gunk gathered in the corner of the hot tub. I immediately went back to my room to shower. Use your best judgment and don’t let anyone pressure you into buying. We will not return to this place.

The guy at the front desk (who had on shades the whole time and was clearly high off his butt) told us he didn't know when it would be ready and had no idea of how long we would have to wait. We decided to go shopping to waste time. We came back about 7:30 and was told our unit was ready by the same guy.

We opened the door to the unit to find food on the tables and still in the fridge, no sheets on the beds! Towels and linens piled up on the floor, dirty bathrooms, etc. It was clear this unit had never been cleaned!!! We go back to the front desk. By this time he's gone for the day. We call the emergency maintenance to see if we can get housekeeping to clean. The emergency maintenance doesn't respond. Now it's about 9:00PM. We decided, "We're not going to get through to anyone so let's go buy cleaning supplies and clean the place ourselves." When we get back with the cleaning supplies, I realize I forgot the paper with the code to the front door inside the unit, so now we're locked out!!!

Again we commence to calling the "24hr" maintenance number. No one ever called us back. We had to spend $400 on 1 night at a hotel in the area because we couldn't get back into the unit we rented!! The next morning I spoke to the manager Jeff ** who was apologetic but that's about it, he gave no real excuse as to why his manager wouldn't reimburse us for our night at the hotel even though we showed him the receipt and multiple attempts to reach maintenance!! Overall this was a horrible experience and I would NEVER recommend this place!

They made booking vacations seem effortless, gave us a great “one time deal” before prices increased, and went on about the VALUE of owning a timeshare. When we went over the numbers, we found a package that seemed manageable for our budget. Unfortunately, now we are stuck because they never disclosed the maintenance fee cost, interest, or any other associated fees.

We THOUGHT we’d be paying $14k over a 10-year period. Not dealing with a complete financial burden. Then after learning about how much we were really paying (ALMOST DOUBLE), and had difficulties making reservations, we found that we can book the same properties online for MUCH cheaper. This company has been the worst. How can such a large company get away with lying and pressuring people like they do. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE! We have since learned that the resorts are EASIER to book as non-owners (and cheaper), the maintenance fees increase exponentially every year, and THE ONLY TIME we manage to book is when they want us to attend another presentation and spend more money! I was transferred to Bluegreen after confirming my reservation with a Choice Hotel. They were not upfront about the promo being a timeshare, but I figured that out after listening to the pitch. Every time I said no, the sales guy found a way to increase the benefit and also decrease the price (by throwing in a gift card you receive on arrival). He was really personable, hard to say no to. My husband dreads these promos and refuses to attend such sales presentations, but somehow I was talked into putting $199 on my card, knowing that I had 30 days to back out. Since then, we have been recruited to accept a foreign exchange student last minute. Also, given the latest refugee crisis, we want to spend more money donating rather than on travel.

Last night I planned on calling (within the 30 day window) to cancel and request a refund. I was discouraged to read the fine print and discover that the only way to get a refund is to request it in writing, which "must be received" within 30 days (tomorrow, in my case). Also, after reading so many poor reviews on this site, there is NO WAY I want to even think of showing up for a sales presentation, or waste money on flights to go to any "resort" only to be put up in a Choice Hotel. All that said, getting a refund was easy by phone. Contrary to the fine print in the terms of my confirmation (and on the Bluegreen website), no written request is necessary.

I was going to just count it my loss, until I read a recent review (August 3rd) by a woman mentioning she got a refund by calling the reservation line. So I called a few minutes ago, and within moments was approved for a refund back to my credit card within 5 business days. Really great rep, no questions asked. The cancellation policy in the terms is deceptive, claiming a letter must be mailed to Orlando and received within the 30 day window. Equally deceptive is the fact that this is never mentioned in the phone sales pitch. The good news is, apparently they don't hold people to the fine print. Just call!

I was told by a CSR the first time that this could be done and I would be getting the email to complete what I now wanted to do with the money, that day and nothing! So I called back the next day and talked to a different CSR who told me there were no notes left by the rep I spoke to the day before and from their knowledge, what I wanted to do, couldn’t be done. So I proceeded to speak with a supervisor who then told me they would open a case for it to get it taken care of on 7/23. They also said it was would take 7-14 business days to have that done.

Here we are almost a MONTH later after multiple calls from 7/23 to now, of a supervisor just last week telling my fiancé that they would take care of this and have it done in 5 days and we would hear back from her on Tuesday that just passed, to today a different supervisor telling me this absolutely cannot be done at all and I have been lied to. It's a scam! We are Bluegreen owners. Have been for 3 yrs. Paid a lot of money for our points and if you aren't a gold or platinum member it's not worth it. Maintenance fees go up every year. The resorts are just ok. Some are terrible and others you have to save your points for a couple years to have enough to go somewhere nice. House keeping is not good. Look over your room when you get there and make sure it's clean. Sometimes I think they just make the beds and that's all. Not a good investment!

Last year we bought another 6000 points package with the idea of having more options but we do not find anything available. We just came from another sales presentation where they were offering the silver and gold membership. They were offering everything to us if we decide to buy. The price was in the same $54K so we said no. Well, they were very rude to us and they didn't help us on anything else. They were saying they had changed their policies but it only applies if you get the elite memberships. We are now planning our vacations out of pocket since it's a lot cheaper than buying with them.

Started out at a Bass Pro Shop getting a 3 day vacation and a gift card to watch a video on timeshares. We booked a 7 day vacation at Cibola Vista Resort in Peoria, AZ. The vacation was nice. Went to the time slot for our video and ended being at a high pressure round table of sale pitches. Never saw a video. Then they had other salespeople come to the table with their pitch. Tried to sell us 20,000 points. We said we could not afford that. Oh and they had my sister and her husband come also. They came back with another option of 6,000 points.

They knew me and my sister would go in on it so they misled us and said oh 6,000 is plenty of points. We were told the website was down so we could not look at Bluegreen vacation website because we would see how many points you really needed to book a 1 bedroom for a week-Lie At the resort we were at it was 12,500 points for a 1 bedroom for a week-So we can't use the points we purchased for the timeshare. We were told we could use it right away-lie. When we came home you can't access the website as an owner until it's too late to cancel (up to 10 days in the contract). Was able to access just in 30 days after the purchase date. Everything is booked out for a year in advance.

We were given a week vacation free of a resort anywhere you want to go-Cant us it because it's booked a year out. They showed us a penthouse at Cibola and led us to believe we could book that. That was probable 30,000 points or something ridiculous. Shame on Bass Pro Shop for settling a lawsuit based on complaints from people like us (40million) in 2019 Bass Pro sued Bluegreen Vacations for misleading, high pressure sales pitches, etc. They booted them from Bass Pro Shop and once they won the lawsuit for Bluegreen vacation they allowed them to come back in the store in Bridgeport, CT to sell these misleading timeshares and take advantage of people and their hard earned money. Beware, do not give in to these high pressure Sales Pitches from liars. I will do whatever it takes to get my money back... consequences.

When I booked a night at a hotel and joined the Choice Privilege reward program on the phone, I was transferred to the Bluegreen salesperson. He pitched this super discounted vacation that let me choose from seven destinations, and I thought it was going to be a perfect babymoon getaway before my second child will be born. The only catch was that I had to attend this 2-hours-long presentation about the Bluegreen membership, but the salesperson said it will be very a low-pressure environment. I purchased the three nights at Wisconsin Dells for $149, with the promise of $125 SIMON mall amex gift card (so I can stay for practically $24).

After I hang up, I started reading the horror stories on Consumer Affairs. People were saying that the 2-hours-long meeting turned into 5 hours and that they were coerced into purchasing the expensive membership that was practically useless. The idea of having to sit through an aggressive sales pitch for 5 hours with my toddler sounded like a nightmare that is not worth my time. Besides, when I saw the booking confirmation it had almost $60 of "taxes and fees" on top of the $145 that the salesperson failed to mention. I immediately called customer service (855-612-5203) and canceled the trip. Yes, you CAN cancel the trip after purchasing it and get a full refund as long as you have more than two weeks before your trip. Overall, I think this is a deceitful business practice that is very disrespectful of people's time. I would not recommend wasting your time on this offer.

I bought a timeshare through Bluegreen in 1985. I own it and it is paid off. We pay our maintenance fee that increases every year. We also pay fees to change resorts and pay fees to deposit weeks if we do not travel. When we signed up in 1985 we bought week 42 at Orlando Sunshine Resort. On my deed it has a unit number and everything. Every year when we go to travel there is a problem because they want us to pay thousands of dollars to covert to a point system instead of our week system. We are happy with our week and we just pay to transfer to a different week of we want.

This year we called in July to book for next March and they told us nothing in Orlando, Kissimmee, or anywhere in the area is avaliable. Our week that we own in October is also not available. How is that possible? We are trying to book 15 months ahead of time! We are supposed to "own" that room for that week! They pretty much told me we are out of luck. We already paid our fee. We are in good standing. There are just not rooms avaliable in Orlando or the surrounding area that are 2 bedrooms that are in our week or April or May. They are not willing to work with us and will not deposit the week for us because there are no open rooms for them to deposit. It doesn't make sense to me!

They said the presentation would last 45 minutes, but it turned into 5 hours of high-pressure sales tactics, deception, lies, and misrepresentation! Bluegreen Vacations are con artists’ taking peoples hard earned money!

The initial part of the presentation was about 30 minutes, but that was not it, we now had to have a conversation with a salesperson. He was nice, but aren’t they all when they want you to buy? The first offer was outrageous, and we immediately declined, 5 times they lowered the price going back and forth with the sales manager. No one mentioned when they lower the price, they lower the package so basically the first offer with all these “GREAT” benefits was no longer on the table, but we didn’t know that.

Finally, the sales manager sat with us, and offered free points and 2 week-long vacations while in the same breath calling us stupid if we didn’t take the deal that day! All the “free” points we were offered to close the deal were never given to us and the free trip we took turned into another aggressive sales pitch. We’re still not sure what it is that we are paying for, and how to use it and we are simply FED UP! This “investment” as they referred to it, has been nothing but a money pit!

At the first presentation of Bluegreen, my wife and I saw the value of Bluegreen timeshare. The value was not in the points or the discounts, or even the above standard accommodations. The value is in the charter membership. Being a member and having points allows you to book your destination far in advance. However, when you get closer to your actual stay, switch over using bonus time privileges provided by your charter membership. This allows you to book, save your points and get rooms costing the public 200-400 dollars for $79. Bluegreen also offers discounts on cruises, adventure destinations, RCI, and Choice Hotels. But be cautious. Bluegreen is not for everyone. If you do not regularly vacation, buying a membership in Bluegreen will not change that. And you will end up writing Bluegreen a bad review.

If however, you and your family vacation often, vacation for relaxation, vacation for experiences, or just vacation for regeneration. As long as you currently vacation often, Bluegreen is definitely for you. As an example, in the first 12 months we owned Bluegreen, we racked up 21 stays. We are constantly adding points to our membership. We have passed it on to our children as they grow up and leave the nest. And from time to time we all meet up together at one of many Bluegreen destinations. If you are considering timeshare, think of it like buying a truck. Don't buy a truck in hopes of hauling something. Buy your truck when you need it. Bluegreen is the best. We have had the rest. Now we only have Bluegreen. I hope this review clears up a few misconceptions about timeshare and especially Bluegreen.

Do yourself a favor and don’t give in to this scam!! Honestly this deserves negative stars. Sure, they make it sound like a dream vacation on a bargain, but in reality it’s a joke, a scam…a nightmare. First off, on the phone call they don’t tell you everything you need to know to qualify for the scam to at least enjoy it in case you give in (which we shouldn’t have done, but that’s why we’re here to tell you). My s/o wasn’t able to make it because of work, so I wanted to enjoy the available time of this “vacation” with the kids, but failed to do so on the first day. This was only the first of three vacations they pushed us to sign up for and maybe now looking at it, a blessing in disguise. I went to attend the meeting (fyi it was at 3pm, dead middle of the day) and they disqualified me from continuing the vacation “deals” because my s/o wasn’t here, WHICH THEY DIDNT TELL US ABOUT THE “REQUIREMENTS” IN ADVANCE.

Not only this, but they wanted to charge me $200 more for the remaining night in addition to what I had already paid. I had to talk to the manager over the phone because the front desk refused to further discuss the situation. I was fumed and enraged at the way this “vacation” was dealt with. I decided to cancel the remaining night and receive some of the additional credit I had to pay for my s/o’s absence and leave the resort early the next morning and shorten our vacation plans. ONCE AGAIN DO NOT BUY BLUEGREEN! AVOID THIS WITH A TEN FOOT POLE.
