I am writing to warn others about my terrible experience with BlueGreen. On December 24, 2023, my family and I attended what was supposed to be a brief timeshare presentation in Branson. However, we endured over four hours of high-pressure sales tactics, including relentless persuasion despite our repeated refusals. The sales team preyed on our fatigue and lack of understanding of timeshare, misleading us with promises of investment returns and future vacations for life that turned out to be deceptive. This experience left us emotionally drained and financially burdened. My wife, who speaks limited English, was coerced into signing the agreement just to end the ordeal. I strongly advise against doing business with BlueGreen, as their practices are unethical and their promises are misleading.

I am extremely frustrated with Bluegreen Club and its timeshare program. Despite being promised easy use, I have consistently been unable to use the timeshare when we actually want to go on vacation. Every time I try to book a trip, the dates we want are already booked up, leaving us stuck with having to adjust our plans. The promised discounted rates through RCI and Choice Hotels have been a complete disappointment. I have found that it is usually cheaper to book hotels on our own rather than try to use the timeshare program.

Perhaps the most aggravating part of the entire experience is the mandatory owner review, which takes up half of a vacation day. Having to attend one each time we have utilized the timeshare has been a huge inconvenience and a waste of our precious vacation time. Adding insult to injury, we have been continually pressured to purchase more points in order to pay for maintenance fees or even sell unused time to family. This feels like nothing more than a money grab. I would not recommend this program to anyone.

My husband and I are at our wit's end with Bluegreen Vacations as timeshare owners and we desperately need to terminate our contract. Our experience has been a complete nightmare, with constant difficulties in making reservations and limited availability of desirable accommodations during peak travel times. This has resulted in a lot of frustration and disappointment, which has unfortunately come at a financial cost that we can no longer afford. We have been struggling with this issue for far too long and we can't take it anymore. We are in a dire financial situation and can no longer afford the costs of our Bluegreen timeshare. We urgently need a solution to this problem so that we can move forward and regain financial stability. It is very unfair that we are the ones burdened with something they lied to us about. If there is absolutely any assistance that you can provide, we would be very grateful. Regards, Sharon and Brennan

Steer clear from these swindlers in the Bass Pro shop! We were intrigued by the “free” 3 night stay as we saw St. Petersburg, FL as one of the locations. We told the guy we have friends there and he showed us pictures of the beachfront location. We paid $199 - was given a $50 Bass Pro gift card on the spot and was told we’d just have to sit through a 2 hour presentation and receive a $150 MC gift card at the end. I tried to book our trip but St. Petersburg was not one of the locations in the dropdown. I called customer service and they explained that location is more expensive than what we paid. They added a $50 credit to my account so I could book in St. Petersburg since I told her the guy at Bass Pro knew we wanted to go there but didn’t tell us it was more expensive.

We received confirmation of our booking only to see we were being put up in a Comfort Inn hotel! I called again and told them we were under the impression that our accommodations would be on the beach. They said we paid for one of their hotel locations and not a resort. So they ended up changing us to a Staybridge Suites in downtown St. Petersburg. It was ok. There was free breakfast every morning and had to drive to the beach. Presentation day was a joke. We were greeted by our own personal sales rep who was overly nice. He brought us to the room to listen to the 2 hour presentation. Then we sat down with our personal sales rep again for another 1.5 hours.

We should have said no right away but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and listened to everything they said. It was very intriguing- we were given a tour of the resort room. Another guy, the closer, finally gave us the numbers for different scenarios of the number of points we’d be buying. We let them know we did not want a hard pull on our credit report. After several attempts of giving us their “best” offer - and making sure we knew we could never be offered this “amazing offer” again, we again said we cannot do this. The closer, who was pleasant at first, got up and walked away without much of a goodbye. We told our sales rep that if we called Bluegreen tomorrow, with cash, they wouldn’t say no. He was shocked we’d say that and didn’t believe it. All I can say is: DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Stay away from this company! We were sold a resort vacation at one of their properties at Bass Pro Shops and told we would just sit through a timeshare. We chose Orlando for a long weekend. We arrived at the Fountains for them to gave us a voucher to stay at a Hampton Inn. The Hampton inn was appalling. We had to book another hotel to stay at since we were already there with our children. It would have cost us less than we paid to stay at the accommodations they selected then we originally paid them. Total scam. Watch out. Then they told us if we didn’t do the time share presentation they would charge us the retail value of the stay of 560$. Meanwhile I had to pay to go and stay somewhere else because their “accommodations” were not safe or clean.

I have been an “owner” with Bluegreen Vacations since the summer of 2019. Throughout my five years of ownership, I have suffered through broken promises, increased fees, high pressure meetings, and a frequent lack of availability. When I arrived at the meeting in 2019, I had no idea that I would be forced to endure four-and-a-half hours of pressure. Finally, I gave in and agreed to buy at the initial level for a price substantially less than what I was told it would cost at the beginning of the presentation, giving the illusion that I had gotten a great deal.

Once I indicated my decision to move forward, I was taken to a different room to review the paperwork. This process was rushed compared to the drawn-out sales presentation, which I believe was intentional. In fact, whenever I stopped to clarify something or ask questions, I was encouraged to just listen to whatever haphazard spiel they were giving and sign where they pointed. For nearly three years I struggled to find availability to the destinations I was interested in.

Eventually I agreed to attend a Bluegreen update, where I was told I would receive all the information I needed to learn how to find the availability I wanted. After several hours of high-pressure sales tactics, I agreed to Silver Membership and purchased more points which did not help me at all in getting more access. After my second upgrade, I tried repeatedly to find accommodations for a week in Aruba, several Florida locations, Hawaii, and Atlantic City. There was never availability despite my upgraded contract. This was the final straw for me, and it illustrated to me that I had been scammed by Bluegreen. My maintenance fees have more than tripled since 2019 and the availability of a week’s worth of accommodation has never been made available to me. Everything about Bluegreen has been extremely problematic. If you are reading this in consideration of purchasing with Bluegreen, Beware!

Because I used the $50 gift card that they gave me. But I wasn't the one that didn't kept my end of the deal. They are scammers. I wouldn't take any kind of vacation from them. Went into Bass Pro to shop and was invited to get a Bass Pro Credit card. As an incentive, there was a sales rep from Blue Green Vacations who said for $299 you can have a 3-day vacation in one of many of their resorts. At no time were we told it was a timeshare property, that we would not be staying at one of the resorts but staying offsite, we would be responsible for the hotel taxes, and that we would have to sit through a 2-hour presentation. It was only after we reviewed the pamphlet in detail that we realized this was a timeshare. Called and wanted to cancel and was told they would not refund the $299 that was charged to our cc. Decided to make the best of it and take a trip.

We traveled to Myrtle Beach and sat through a 2-hour presentation. It was the worst experience. The slick salesman tired to be funny but at times he was vulgar and offensive. During his spiel, he was trying to compare a hotel room with a 2 bedroom condo. He said with a hotel room, the parents are in one bed and the kids in the other and that you can't get "nasty with momma in the am" with kids in the same room. Then he points to a couple and says "Am I right?" and starts laughing. There were young kids in the room and I was embarrassed he was talking about ** with young kids in the room. He also said with a hotel room you only have one bathroom and when momma gets up in and "blows up the bathroom in the am" is the reason you need two bathrooms. Totally uncalled for.

Most of the presentation was pics of him and his son on numerous vacations. He bragged how he has 20000 points and that he takes several vacations a year and doesn't pay for any of his trips. It was 2 hrs of pure hell. After the presentation, we had a sit down with our own rep who was nice and pleasant. We explained the whole thing starting with the Bass Pro visit, and that had we known from the start we would not have even entertained purchasing the vacation. The only upside is that our personal rep knew that we were not at all interested and did not try to pressure us or keep us any longer than necessary.

I have been a member for about 15 years and basically the experience was not good to awful. I like many others would love to get out of it, but there seems little feasible ways to do so. What was the best feature - the nightly stays has now raised the rates, so it too is simply better to do a google search and pay cash, or use points from frequent programs. My latest interaction with them was to reserve a short stay at Cibola Vista for 2 Adults and 2 grandchildren. The lady I spoke with agreed since it was a 1/2 off of points why not get the Presidential suite, so I did book it. Since it was only 4 of us and now a huge apartment, I asked my 2 adult sons if they would like to come along. They made their travel plans based on what I had reserved and been advised to reserve from the BG agent.

Now 4 days later, BG calls me and says I cannot get 1/2 off on the Presidential suite and the only other room available says the second bed is only comfortable for 1 child. They now say I can pay full price for Presidential or take the other, their agent made a mistake and will be educated. BUT BASICALLY IT IS TOUGH LUCK ON ME, "THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!" They will not budge, take NO RESPONSIBILITY for their agents mistake/advice, and there is "NO ONE ELSE I CAN TALK TO!" Linda in Indianapolis says "her boss does not take incoming calls and will not make an outgoing call and there is no one anywhere to speak to".

So as absurd as it is to leave another negative review on a company whose reviews are almost entirely negative, I am wasting my time doing so and can only add another voice to the call that ALL OF YOU SHOULD STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE!!! To even get rid of/give away your points the company itself is now charging and increasing the price to take back the points - how absurd is that - they soon will make substantial income taking back the points they originally sold you!!!

I am writing this review because my wife Julie I were defrauded by four Bluegreen salesmen. We were promised gifts in exchange for our attendance at a timeshare presentation at Harbour Lights in Myrtle Beach, SC, which ended up being nothing but lies and pressure to buy. The concierge told us that if we took a tour of the property and attended a “quick” presentation, we would receive a $150 gift card. Instead, we walked into a high-pressure sales pitch, and had no idea it would take five hours.

The pitch began with a group of salesmen droning on about the benefits of Bluegreen’s timeshare program. This was presented to us as an investment in real estate that would benefit our future. We were clearly uncomfortable with the prospect of making such a large purchase, which led to one of the salesmen telling us that we had to make a decision soon or else the “deal” would be gone for good. In all, we declined four separate offers over the course of five hours. They assured us that this was an affordable investment that would allow us to take frequent vacations. That was a lie.

We were convinced that we could take vacations to exotic places, and we could refinance the cost of the timeshare through our home bank. Not only can we not refinance, but the terms of our loan were also not disclosed to us. Additionally, we weren’t told about our total interest percentage, our ability to rescind the contract, or that we would be on the hook for maintenance fees.

We have tried many times to book vacations but found that there is always an issue with availability. We have tried to refinance through our home bank, but they told us that they don’t refinance timeshare loans. In fact, we have tried refinancing through multiple banks, but they all tell us the same thing. We are stuck with a monthly payment that we can’t afford, in addition to the rising maintenance fees that were never disclosed. Take my advice and stay away from these scammers

How exactly does an AmeriCorps volunteer and a single mother, who makes less than 30K, pay for a timeshare. I CAN’T! I was forthright from the get-go with the Bluegreen employees that I encountered. The reality is these same people lied and manipulated me into a contract that I could never afford, by simply lying about not only the product but the costs associated with it. Upon discovering what had happened, I immediately tried to rescind the contract by following the directions that were provided to me. Which again was riddled with lies and inconsistencies. I made these two facts abundantly clear while sitting through a sales meeting and was told that a Bluegreen timeshare would not only save me money but could also earn me money.

To say I am disgusted with the high-pressure sales tactics and deception I was forced to endure would not be enough. I am heartbroken. Heartbroken that your salespeople saw it fit to berate and badger me–after knowing I make less than $30,000/year–into signing up for something they knew that I couldn’t afford. Within a week of signing, I called your customer service department to rescind my contract. The representative over the phone stated that because I was within a 30-day period she would help me, telling me that she would transfer me over to her superior so I could leave a message.

I left a message, but never heard back. About two weeks later I called again, and this time I was told to send a certified letter of intent to rescind. Which I did! Then they called back and said I was outside of the rescinding period, when they were the ones that established with me that I had 30 days. And there ends all communication from Bluegreen. Clearly, they are perfectly comfortable with heinous, unethical practices, robbing households like mine. Shameful!

It's not worth it. They would cost you more money and take away the time that you supposed to enjoy, and spend it to a presentation and one on one sales pitch that could last for four hours in total. They gave me a lot of misinformation that really wasted my time and money. They made me come back twice because my travel buddy wasn't with me and I wasn't informed that my buddy needs to be there as well.

Your choices on the place where you wanted to go, the hotel where you wanted to stay, and the dates of your vacation have to adjust to whatever they can offer. They claim that they have affiliations with high end hotels like Cambria in Madeira Beach, but when I stayed there, it wasn't high end at all. It was just a high rise hotel, where there is a far view of the beach which is across the Gulf Blvd, and down the balcony is a view of rooftops of bars and restaurants that sometimes smell bad because of the exhaust gases coming from their rooftops.

The lobby at third floor looks nice, but the room looks cheap and I can hear the noises from the other room (one of them is even disturbing and traumatic to hear! You don't want your kids to hear such noise). The cleaning ladies are also noisy. And the floor is slimy even after they cleaned it. My parking also cost me $100 for 4 days. In short, I have a bad experience with the hotel and bad experience with all the misinformation. So don't waste your money and time. Run away if you can!

As Owners, each of our trips through Bluegreen Vacations has been marred by mandatory sales meetings. During these meetings we are forced to endure hours of pressuring sales tactics with the assurance that an upgrade would grant us improved rooms. We have upgraded several times and NONE of these promises have come to fruition. The only thing that has changed is the total cost of our arrangement. We have routinely been held, against our will, by multiple salespeople for periods lasting five hours to get us to upgrade our timeshare ownership.

At no point during the initial meeting, or any subsequent meetings, have we been told that our maintenance fees would automatically be passed along to our children in the event of our deaths. If we had known this from the start, then we never would have agreed to purchase anything. To make matters worse, we were misled regarding the total cost of our agreement. Any time we attempted to book stays we were told that we needed more points, but after we had procured more points, we were told we needed even MORE points. It is clear to us now that we will never receive the benefits that have been promised to us. The level of pressure and deception we have been subjected to by the sales staff has been obscene, and we have demanded to be released from our contract on the grounds that we have been lied to. However, to date we have been wholly ignored by the Executive Team.

Unfortunately, we accepted the offer only to have been pressured to stay for several hours. They had confiscated our ID cards and were told we couldn’t get them back until we completed the entire presentation. They lied to us and said we needed to stay roughly an hour tops, only later to be told we couldn’t have our ID cards back until we finished the presentation. These people lied to us and said we would have access to Disney properties which was false. This was a major reason why we decided to buy the timeshare in the first place.

My wife and I are now trying to get out of this timeshare for many more reasons at that. I am waiting to see if Bluegreen responds to a letter we wrote and see if they are willing to cooperate with releasing us from our timeshare. If they refuse, then our next letter will be a call to Disney to let them know Bluegreen used their name to manipulate us into buying a timeshare. We are writing this review because of the horrific treatment my wife and I received from the Bluegreen Vacations sales team. It started at a Bass Pro shop when we were presented with an offer for a weekend getaway at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri, and we were enticed by the promise of gift cards exceeding our $200 deposit, in exchange for attending a 90-minute presentation.

We attended the 90-minute presentation, which turned into over 5 hours of pressure and manipulation. The sales team focused on the importance of spending time with family and how purchasing a timeshare could make it all possible. They shared personal stories, such as one team member almost losing their spouse to cancer, to emotionally manipulate us into buying. As Virginia had recently fought her own battle with cancer, this hit close to home for us. We were told that the price would be locked in forever, protecting us from inflating hotel room costs. Additionally, we were assured that if we wanted to ever sell, it would be easy, as the property was deeded. That was a lie.

Despite initially declining the offer, the pressure intensified, making us feel foolish for not taking advantage of this "investment." They continuously sweetened the deal with lower prices and airline ticket vouchers. Feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, we eventually succumbed to their tactics. We were misled about the availability and exclusivity of the timeshare, as well as its reappraisal value. Furthermore, we were never informed that the property would be owned in perpetuity, leaving our children liable for the maintenance fee. The misrepresented value of the timeshare is clearly evident by looking at Bluegreen timeshares on eBay. If you read other reviews, you will see that others have been manipulated and lied to as well. Someone needs to address the shady sales tactics that their employees practice. Shame on you Bluegreen for training your staff to do this to people!

This was not what I had signed up for, so I requested to cancel. However, the response from the representative was incredibly rude. Not only did they deny my refund, but they also threatened to charge an additional $100 for informing them at the last minute. As a result, I ended up losing $250 for nothing. These are facts about my life that I shared with the pushy Bluegreen Resorts salespeople when they cornered me and pressured me into signing up for a Bluegreen timeshare. They knew full well that I could not afford what they were selling, but they ignored me and instead tricked me into believing that their timeshare was an investment in my family’s future. Hours of pressure and lies from Bluegreen salespeople resulted in me signing two contracts. I strongly believe they should be terminated because they were procured through deception, pressure, and fraudulent claims. I have been lied to, deceived, and pressured into signing up for timeshares that were presented to me inaccurately. They are far more expensive than I was told, and they are neither tax deductible nor available for refinancing.

This is unacceptable, and I demand to be released from this fraudulent agreement at once. The bottom line is this, the additional hits to my credit due to these purchases have dramatically reduced my credit score, which has already negatively impacted me. I live in fear that my new job will determine that I may be a financial risk and will terminate me from my position. It took me six weeks to get this job, and if I lose it, my situation will become much worse. All the stressors in my life have been created by Bluegreen, or at the very least been compounded by them. It’s unbelievable that Bluegreen would do this to anyone, but to compound it to include Veterans and Widows, seems inconceivable.

I am writing this review to warn others about Bluegreen Vacations. To start, don’t accept any invitations to go to a presentation for a free or discount trip. It’s a trap. Unfortunately, no one warned me. This nightmare started when we attended a presentation in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Upon checking in, a sales rep named Bobby saw me looking at the monitors showing pictures of families on vacations. He asked questions about my vacation habits. He followed up by claiming Bluegreen would be able to provide everything I was interested in. I was skeptical, but he insisted that he wasn’t selling a timeshare but rather a membership to a vacation program.

Bobby explained that I could use my membership to procure two airline tickets and two vacation cruises if I signed up today. When I agreed, I was taken to a different room to go over paperwork. I was rushed through this process, and I was never told that I would have a few days to cancel my contract without penalty. I was extremely pressured into signing up for this, and if I was given adequate time to think everything over and if Bobby was honest about things, I would never have signed any agreement with Bluegreen.

Fast forward to our 2nd meeting when they got me to upgrade. Again, they poured on the pressure, and said that I would receive many more benefits, but I would have to sign up that day. I also explained the issue I had with the cruises and airline tickets. They explained that last time they made a mistake, but this time I would certainly receive them. David ** told me that if I purchased a second timeshare and combined it with my first, I could reduce my payments and interest rate. I decided to sign up because of the promised benefits and reduced cost, but this was also a lie. I have never once used my timeshare, or any of the benefits that were promised. Now I am stuck in a contract that was sold to me through fraudulent claims, pressure, and deceptive sales tactics. Stay Away from Bluegreen!

My husband and I have been owners since 2011. We bought in with minimal points and over time gradually moved up to Diamond. We got in when points were much less expensive which enabled us to continue to buy more cheaply. We weren’t always offered the cheaper rate, however, during our “owner updates”. We held out for managers who would work with us every time that we bought. Not that we were so smart about how this worked. We just knew what we paid previously and weren’t willing to pay much more because it wasn’t worth it to us. That doesn’t mean that people starting out now aren’t getting a good deal. Buy in for the points you can afford, and over time continue to buy more points at what will become lower rates than most other people.

We are very happy with our ownership and feel like we get great value. We could not be more pleased that we decided to buy a timeshare particularly with Bluegreen. We’ve gone places we never would have and enjoyed a level of accommodation we never could have. We’ve been able to share with friends and family, which is really nice. My recommendation is to buy carefully and make sure that you can afford to pay in cash. If you can’t afford it in cash, wait until you can. Or get a good loan from someone other than Bluegreen (their loan interest rates will leave you in the poor house). Then enjoy yourself!! Best of luck and happy ownership!

Unfortunately the place was sold to Bluegreen vacation & the service went rapidly down. The Bluegreen servicing people horribly. Permanently lying, It's almost impossible to arrange the place for next year. A lot of owners (including me) I know dropped the membership due to a horrible service. I gave them 1 star but it's too high in my opinion. Stay out of Bluegreen.

They got my husband outside a BassPro and so we trekked to New Hampshire for our “free” stay at a nearby hotel in Plymouth, NH. After reading reviews of some experiences with the timeshare presentations, I was anxious and absolutely dreading it as I have no interest/need to buy one. The Lincoln, NH property is nice. If you’re a skier and love winter, check it out. Otherwise, not much around. At all. And in April, much of their local business are closed for the mud season. Our fault for not looking into to more.

What I really want to highlight is how low-pressure the timeshare presentation was. My anxiety and dread was completely unfounded. Everyone at the Blue Green property was friendly and welcoming. The presentation itself was corny but fast. The presenter was great. Our salesperson was great and so was her boss. Understanding and honestly, just doing their jobs and doing them well. They said a 2-hour presentation and we were out with our $150 gift card in 2 hours and 5 minutes. Just wanted to share my experience here in case anyone else is as scared as I was :) I wouldn’t recommend a “free” trip to sit through this but if you get sucked into one, it wasn’t the end of the world.

My husband and I made the mistake of purchasing a timeshare with BlueGreen while visiting Christmas Mountain Resort. We were sold an entry-level package after being promised that it was our ticket to better quality vacations with our family. Instead, our experience has been a continuous, expensive nightmare. Each trip we have taken has come with the requirement of sitting through a multi-hour high pressure sales pitch. Shortly after our purchase, we participated in an orientation session that turned into 3 hours of high-pressure sales pitch to upgrade our contract. The more we pushed back, the more “options” we were presented with. Eventually we were able to leave without making an upgrade.

In March 2023, we were mandated to attend an “owner’s review” under the guise of maximizing our vacation package. To say we felt forced to attend is an understatement. This owner’s review was another strong-armed sales pitch, where we were pressured to make a “once-in-a-lifetime” upgrade. Despite our firm refusals, we were harassed for the rest of the vacation fielding aggressive phone calls telling us that we needed to return to hear out the new offers.

In July 2023, at the Christmas Mountain resort, we were told that they needed to speak to us so we understood how to properly utilize our points. This was nothing more than a blatantly false ruse to trap us in a room with their sales team. We declined over and over and over, but they made us suffer through an agonizing 5+ hours of the same banter about upgrading. Having been withered to the point of simply needing to leave, uncharacteristically, we folded to the pressure of accepting to upgrade. Even though we couldn’t, we were put in a position that should not have happened after many attempts to walk away and several refusals. This has become an extensive financial burden that we never wanted. Because of the constant harassment we have been subjected to, we are seeking an expedited termination of our contract.

She didn't listen to anything I said and kept bringing up family and memories (My mom is 84 and I take care of her, thus my reason for getting away!). Then on the big screen she asks where is the Next vacation I'd like to take and I say New Zealand/Australia or Germany but she pulls up Aruba on the screen. I do Not feel confident in her sales ability at all because her Memory sucks!

Bluegreen Vacations (BGV) sales reps, in my opinion, are aware of the unethical practices they engage in, which has left us feeling deceived and financially burdened. During our initial encounter we were charged a fee for a supposedly "free" offer. We rationalized the expense as it still appeared more cost-effective than booking a hotel for 2 nights. Once at the Las Vegas hotel, we were upset to discover we were responsible for taxes & resort fees, which weren’t disclosed during the sales process. The "free" 2-night stay clearly was not free as promised.

To avoid being charged more, we attended the required presentation, but was surprised to be asked for our IDs, as we were under the impression attendance carried no obligation. We watched the approximately 1-hour presentation which portrayed an effortless and hassle-free points system; We now know to be untrue. After the presentation, We were ushered to another room, with no exits in sight, and presented with 3 different offers of varying point values & amounts, then pressured to make a purchase decision. Despite expressing hesitation, they continued to employ manipulative sales tactics, emphasizing urgency of limited time offers & attempting to appeal to our desire for family vacations.

After hours of extremely high pressure, we agreed to purchase the middle-tier package. The entire process lasted over 5 hours and was not, as promised, a 1-hour no-obligation presentation. We were hoodwinked into a contract without being adequately informed about the transferability of the liability of this timeshare to our children. BGV failed to provide complete and transparent information, which would have influenced our decision to purchase the timeshare. Our family does not have the means to assume this financial burden, and had we been aware of these details beforehand, we would not have proceeded with the purchase.

My husband was in his 60’s and I was in my 50’s at the time of our purchase, with Bluegreen Vacations. Since, we have developed significant health ailments. We are experiencing extreme stress having been extorted by this timeshare company. We are facing extreme hardship and cannot afford to pay this timeshare on our meager fixed income. It is significantly more expensive than we were led to believe, but the information showing the total cost was withheld from us. Our recent stay at Club 36 Resort in Las Vegas, NV was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We had to request a new room because we found roaches throughout. In the microwave, and in the kitchen.

Our granddaughter was also staying with us in another room, and she had a roach problem as well. Then we were subjected to an owner's update that we were required to attend. There was no update at all, in fact, the salespeople just went into another pitch, trying to sell us more property, for more than 3 hours. We told all the salespeople there is no way we are investing more money in Bluegreen when you can’t even keep your rooms clean. This is a basic function of operating a resort and this company seems to only care about grinding people into a sales presentation and adding more debt to struggling families. This makes me question why we are paying such high maintenance fees that we were told to go towards the upkeep of the resorts. I don’t see any improvements at Bluegreen resorts, let alone any upkeep. Having spent close to $15,000 on dismal vacations, at outrageous costs can no longer be tolerated.

From the moment we attended the Bluegreen Vacations presentation in Las Vegas in 2016, we were subjected to a relentless onslaught of lies, manipulations, and high-pressure tactics. As elderly individuals, both in our 70s, we were mentally abused by Bluegreen employees who wore us down and tired us out until we succumbed to purchasing a timeshare that has never been worth what we were deceitfully promised. One of the most reprehensible aspects of our experience was the blatant lie that our children would inherit the property. Instead, we discovered that they would be burdened with the debt and maintenance fees of owning a timeshare that has proven to be nothing more than a financial nightmare. As retired Navy veterans, having served this country for 17 years, we are appalled that anyone would dare to take advantage of those that have served our country.

The tactics used by Bluegreen sales teams are reminiscent of elder abuse, a common tactic employed by unethical salespeople. The pressure, the manipulation of facts, and the disregard for our well-being were nothing short of abusive. We were worn down, coerced, and misled into purchasing more points under false pretenses, all while being made to feel like idiots for potentially passing up what was supposedly a "great deal." In addition to the exorbitant maintenance fees, which have more than doubled over the years, we were never informed that our children would be held responsible for any remaining balance and maintenance fees after our deaths. This omission of crucial information is a clear indication of your company's deceptive practices and lack of transparency. It is abundantly clear to us that you are not in the vacation business but rather the financial business.

Do your research and look into it before going. Emotionally prepare yourself and do not let what they say, feed into your decision. My spouse bought into the vacation getaway from one of our local Bass Pro Shop retailers. The person told my spouse about the vacation package and where we could use it and so forth. Trying to use this and redeem was the first challenge as we couldn't get our original stay in Arizona so we had to settle for Las Vegas. The person on the phone in which we spoke to first, was not helpful and outright rude, giving attitude when asked questions about the location in which we wanted to initially book but couldn't.

After this clown call was complete and we were confirmed to stay at their Las Vegas location called Club 36 (it's everything but a club) we planned for the upcoming stay. We were told at Bass Pro about having to commit at least 2 hours of our time for a presentation in which would go in detail about vacation packages and so forth offered by Bluegreen. I did my research and watched a few youtube videos so I could get an understanding of what we were going to walk into (something I suggest someone who is new to doing these type of vacation packages to do). Arrival day came and we checked into Club 36, and were given details about our stay and when and where we would need to be for our presentation. We were advised that we had to be there 10 minutes before our time of 11AM. We go into our room and let's just say if the word bleak had a picture attached to it. This room would be its definition. There was nothing special and nothing giving the sense that you were at a so called resort.

The day finally came where we had our presentation. Our salesperson finally came in after waiting 10 minutes and introduced himself. He took us to an open area where other couples and individuals were. Before the sales pitch began, they offered snacks, drinks, and so forth to put you at ease. Once that is all said and done, the sale begins. Our salesperson began light, asking personal questions about our lives and tried to build similarities with us. Bringing in his experiences and to why he bought into the company vacation packages and why he works for them. He kept using the subject line of family and building memories with bluegreen and again why he purchased into it and kept upgrading his points. I saw that he used this more in trying to build a connection with my spouse than me because he hit their soft spot. Especially since we had our children there with us (something I do not recommend you bring with you to this presentation).

After all this talk, his manager came and introduced himself and provided a little insight to offers and packages bluegreen offered. Again using his personal experiences as well as to why he bought into bluegreen. The manager said he would be working on offers and asked our sales rep to take us to show us some of the rooms on sight that bluegreen offered. The rooms shown definitely were what we would have expected to start with. Each room looked like rooms in model homes and were bright with fully modernized furnishings. Our disappointment to what we were staying in, started to increase after we saw these rooms.

After the tours were completed we went back to the table and just like a salesman at a car dealership, the manager laid out the offers for each package bluegreen offered. The manager then took over the sale and began to throw in additional vacation packages to better entice what he was showing. One thing you need to look out for and need to pay attention to is the interest rate as well as the fees. Luckily going into this, I knew about these fees and they're ever changing $. The reps don't tell you this and when you ask questions they dance around the amount. During the initial presentation, do not ask questions, take mental notes what what they are telling you so you can assess and ask when they bring you the numbers.

At this time, we were well passed the 2 hour window and going on now 3 hours. I was already fed up and annoyed. Our children were also annoyed so I began the shut down. I advised both that we were not interested and after one question about what it would take to get us to buy, I shook my head and said nothing. The sales pitch was over and they initiated our exit quick. Total disengagement was started by both these characters and our "want to be friend" of a salesman ushered us out to another room to get our promised gift card. Once they both knew they were not going to get a sale, they ignored us and did not give us the time of day even when we saw them around the property. If someone from bluegreen is reading this I would recommend the following:

#1- Set your guests up to be in a better than average room, first impressions matter, no matter what it is.
#2- The sale is only as good as the salesperson pitching it. More training on how to start and close a sale might be needed for your team.

#3- Appearance of staff- I'd recommend maybe an attire check, stained dress shirts the strong odor of cigarette doesn't necessarily scream "buy from me". Then again it was Las Vegas.

I am accustomed to long shifts, but this was an entirely different level of exhaustion and mental fatigue. We were bombarded by two different salespeople who used pressure tactics and confusing questions to wear down our resistance.

I rejected three different offers before finally succumbing to the relentless onslaught by salespeople. I asked for time to think about the purchase, but I was told that I had to decide right there. This high-pressure sales environment was designed to confuse and manipulate customers, and it is a disgraceful way to conduct business. We were also emotionally manipulated by the Bluegreen sales team. Our sales rep used her illness to paint a wonderful picture of how Bluegreen saved her from depression and gave her a purpose in life. Meanwhile, I was lied to about the availability of the timeshare. I was told that the hotels were private and exclusive to owners only, creating a false sense of exclusivity and luxury. I was also led to believe that the timeshare would be a real estate investment, which is a complete fabrication. The deceitful tactics employed by their sales team are nothing short of reprehensible.

To add insult to injury, during the closing, we had already been there for almost six hours. We were mentally and physically exhausted, and I was in pain from a medical condition, so we felt as though we were being rushed through the process and not accurately informed of my right to rescind the contract. Additionally, I was not fully made aware that the interest rate on my loan would be an exorbitant 16%. This predatory lending practice is unconscionable and preys on vulnerable individuals who are simply seeking a relaxing vacation experience. Ridiculous!

My name is Christina **, and I am contacting you because I’ve had a terrible experience with this establish at the hands of a few employees. It is is my understanding that Choice hotels has a partnership with Bluegreen vacations or the company is under their umbrella. On Saturday, February 17th, 2024, I spoke with someone named Alyssa who works for this company and she told me that I could pay $279 for a 4 day 3 nights stay in any state at any of the hotels they have partnerships with. The caveat was that I’d have to schedule a 2 hour meeting to discuss a timeshare in the city I choose and I would get a $275 gift card after the meeting.

It sounded too good to be true so I asked several questions once being told they have a partnership with the Double Tree and the JW Marriott. Alyssa checked with her Manager whose name I don’t have and he confirmed that since it was under the Marriott umbrella that they have a partnership there and I would be able to stay there. I double-triple checked by saying “so you’re saying I can stay at the JW Marriott which is $500 a night for only $279 for the whole weekend?!” She confidently said yes and the manager was there listening and went as far as to say “you’ll like it there. I’ve stayed there and it’s nice.”

I proceeded to ask more questions and even went as far as booking for specific dates which were March 8th-11th, and she said that shouldn’t be a problem and they would hold the dates in the system so that when I speak to a reservations specialist on Monday they would be able to completely lock in those dates with the hotel and I’d be good to go. I asked her why did I have to wait till Monday and if I should call the hotel directly to tell them about this and she said that the reservation specialist would take care of everything for me and that they weren’t available on the weekends.

I asked a few more questions just to confirm the legitimacy of what Alyssa was saying and she assured me this was legit and so did her manager who you could hear talking loud in the background. Alyssa said that what she was telling me was legit and if it wasn’t she would lose her job. I called a reservationist on Monday to lock in my dates and I was so excited to do so only to be extremely let down! I spoke with someone named Kristina who told me that I WAS NOT going to be booked at the JW Marriott because they don’t have a partnership with them. I said how could that be when Alyssa and her manager told me they had the dates held in the system. She said they have dates held in the system for me at the Embassy suites and she proceeded to try and force me to move forward with locking them in.

I said, "Excuse me. Why are you not acknowledging that I was blatantly lied to on a recorded call just so that this person could get a sale???!” Kristina in a very nonchalant tone said she’s sorry I was experiencing that but encouraged me to move forward with booking at the embassy suites because it was still a good deal and just as nice of a hotel, which a total lie because the embassy is a 3 star and the JW Marriott is a 5 star!!! I was so shocked at how she was pressuring me to move forward just to keep the sale and how I was scammed during the initial call, I asked to be transferred to her manager. She was very rude and told me they are going to do the same thing that she is doing! I am so disgusted by the deplorable con man behavior that was exhibited by this company and how they were willing to lie and scheme on a recorded call just to rob me of my money.

I spoke with someone in corporate by the name of Christopher ** who stated they would start an investigation into the employees who flat out lied in order to get a sale and would follow up to let me know what steps were taken and the outcome as much as he could given he has the ability to, and would also work to find me a room equivalent to what was promised at some of the more high end hotels you all partner with if any. He called back on Wednesday and told me that he couldn’t lock in dates at Hotel Indigo or one of the BLUEGREEN suites because those dates weren’t available. I went as far as changing the dates and still nothing. At this point the only option presented was refunding me which wasn’t enough to account for my time wasted, inconvenience, and how this situation has impacted my ability to book at hotels of my choice within those dates ranges at responsible prices because we’re closer to the time I plan to stay.

Christopher was supposed to contact me on Friday which is today to provide me with an update on those employees and what other promotion, discounts, or incentives he could provide and he did NOT keep his word. I am totally frustrated and disgusted with this entire process and the back door boiler room behavior exhibited by your employees. To blatantly lie to get a sale should be a fireable offense and the lack of resolve to this matter is alarming.

My fiance and I got talked into testing out one of their resorts when visiting a Bass Pro shop on vacation. After several months he booked the stay in Orlando when we planned on visiting family. I made it clear that I could not attend as we would have 4 underage children with us that I was not going to leave alone. During booking they said that was fine and just checked my fiance's finances for confirmation. We get the email confirming our dates of stay at the Bluegreen Fountain Resort in Orlando with a check-in time. We get there to check in and they give us a hard time about me having to attend. They said it's not an option, I must go or the entire stay will be charged to our card.

I could leave them in their onsite daycare but they have to be potty trained (2 of them are not). After going back and forth with them they said the children could attend as well for the 2hr presentation (lol good luck with that). After that ordeal, they give us the directions to our hotel, which we were confused since we were told we'd be staying in a family suite at the resort. It even said that in the email confirming our stay. Needless to say, the hotel they set us up in was 20 minutes away, in a run-down, cheap dirty inn. It barely fit our family of 6, the bathroom shower was broken, etc.

My first thought was shock at the fact they truly believed we would leave 4 small children ALONE in a hotel 20 mins away to attend their seminar. And secondly, they thought a family of 6 would fit in this small room for 3 days. I immediately booked a room at the Westgate resort in a deluxe family suite. Never again. If they truly wanted to sell their resort and amenities they failed miserably because I will never step foot there again.

The sad part, we were under the impression we'd be onsite at the resort so we planned things to do while staying there. If I had known they would have done this to us I would have just booked at a Disney Resort again. We have plenty of friends and acquaintances that went through it and even purchased their timeshare thing, and each of them said they all stayed at their actual location for the "trial" run and seminar. Not sure what happened here, which is a shame because we come to Orlando every year and could have possibly been interested in this, but no, terrible business practices and I would never recommend.

To get 15000 points it cost me $30,000 on 2 high-interest loans as well as now $1800 a year in maintenance fees and club dues. I've got enough points to spend 2 or 3 weeks on vacation but the top spots are so hard to book because I'm on the low end of their chart. With them being bought out by Hilton the prices are continuing to go up and they just aren't worth it anymore.

Initially purchased in 2005. Upgraded over 5 years to Silver, Gold, then Platinum ownership. Really enjoyed lots of various experiences at their nice resorts through the years until recently. The annual Maintenance fees have almost quadrupled in 19 years. The cost to buy new points for new owners is almost triple what it was in 2005. Reservations at the most popular resorts is almost impossible to get, especially if you don’t plan 11 months or more out. Many long time owners are practically giving away their ownerships to get out of Bluegreen. Strongly recommend not to even attend a presentation as they are very adept at getting people to buy Bluegreen. Later when you try to use it to make reservations, you will be very disappointed and will regret you ever heard of Bluegreen, let alone bought into them.

So, every year...say you're paying $5 for a burger - and the burger company just decreases the size of it. And....they lie. A LOT. About everything. They told me I had to reach bronze level in order to be able to sell points to cover maintenance fees and to be able to obtain my travel goals. I was always just one upgrade away from reaching my goals.

Four purchases later and I am only deeper in debt, and I have found out that at every presentation, their deceptive sales tactics led me to another purchase. With the amount of money, I have paid them, I could have traveled to Ireland and back, every year since I signed up with Bluegreen. I wish I had never gone into Bass Pro Shops and been suckered into purchasing a discounted trip from a Bluegreen representative. What was supposed to be a dream getaway back in June turned into a terrible ordeal for us. They are extremely pushy with their sales approach, promises of affordability, and slick presentations led us into a contract we didn't fully understand and that’s because they purposely made it impossible to know what we were signing. It’s obvious that Bluegreen is not being regulated when it comes to how they go about trapping people into their membership.

We're now trapped in a lifetime commitment with obnoxious fees and interest rates through the roof which we have no way to pay being on Social Security only and living on “paycheck to paycheck”! We were never told about our right to cancel the stupid thing, and the supposed exit department doesn't exist! We truly feel scammed and financially strapped. All because of a bunch greedy timeshare salespeople! This experience has caused our family immense stress and strained family relationships. I can’t believe we would be stuck in a situation like this. We went to a Bluegreen meeting and were promptly told that this was not a timeshare company, but rather a vacation ownership company. The salesman working with me came up with a deal that he claimed was the best deal he’d seen in his lifetime. In addition, one of the managers had placed his personal employee discount on the offer, something they could only do once a year. So, my dollar cost per point was "exceptionally low". They told me if I turned the offer down and at a later time attended another Bluegreen presentation the price would likely be more than double what I was being offered. So, I decided to take advantage of this generous offer and purchased!

The Bluegreen representative made numerous misleading claims, including the exceptional nature of the offer and the pricing, which later proved to be false. We were subjected to high-pressure sales tactics that pushed me into making multiple upgrades to my membership without full disclosure of the financial implications, including increased maintenance fees and additional hidden costs. Bluegreen failed to provide clear and comprehensive information about the terms of ownership, maintenance fees, and other ongoing financial obligations associated with the timeshare agreement.

Promises made during my timeshare ownership, such as access to the Travelers Save Plus (TSP) program and mortgage refinancing, were never fulfilled, leaving me and my wife feeling deceived. It is our belief that these fake benefits were presented to us and that the salespeople were intentionally dishonest, knowing full well the loan couldn’t be refinanced and that we wouldn’t qualify for the TSP program. Throughout our ownership, we were never informed of our Right of Rescission, the Truth in Lending, financial charges, perpetual maintenance fees, or the burden of passing on ownership maintenance fees to heirs or our estate. Our first encounter was at the Oklahoma City Cabela's store, where we were promised a free hotel stay in Branson, Missouri. This was the beginning of a relentless sales pitch that lasted hours despite our resistance. Fast forward a few years, and we found ourselves coerced into purchasing a sampler package during a trip to Orlando, only to discover it was practically useless during COVID-19.

Our attempt to use the package in Las Vegas turned into a three-hour sales presentation, where promises of exotic travel and profit from a timeshare investment were thrown at us. Exhausted and feeling forced, we succumbed to false information and purchased a plan that has proven to be a burden. Booking vacations turned out to be dreadful, with limited options and additional costs for accommodations. The financial strain of loan payments, a hefty down payment, and exorbitant maintenance fees have been overwhelming.

The most egregious aspect was the forceful tactics used during the contract closing. We were held against our will for over three hours, enduring relentless pressure. This treatment of vulnerable elderly customers is unacceptable! Consider yourself warned—steer clear of Bluegreen Vacations unless you want to risk falling victim to their greedy salespeople.

Beware of Bluegreen Resorts! Do not fall victim to their deceptive practices. They are very experienced from coercive tactics during presentations to unauthorized credit checks. To say our experience has been distressing is an understatement. They'll tap into your interests and likes in which words were said of, "you're getting a really great deal". They'll use pressure sales tactics and misrepresentations about their resorts and the availability, to later find out that some states Bluegreen Resorts doesn't exist or they have limited properties. Then to be deceived on believing we are able to leave our timeshare in a will for my children. Not true! There is actually an option to transfer ownership, but all for a fee $$$. They've also stated that the maintenance fees could go up just a few dollars a year, again not true. It goes up a lot every year.

From their deceptions and pressure tactics to unexpected maintenance fees, this has added more financial strain. Attempts were made to assert our consumer rights that were futile. As elderly individuals on a fixed income, we strongly caution others to be highly skeptical of Bluegreen Resorts. Investigate thoroughly before considering a timeshare and be aware of potential pitfalls. Hoping that sharing this will spare others from similar hardships. Our plea for a swift resolution remains ongoing and unanswered.

The pressure from the staff was relentless, and it felt like we were in over our heads. We've ended up with a contract that doesn't match what we were promised, and there were significant financial details that were kept from us. It's been a real headache.

Our first trip with Bluegreen was to the Wisconsin Dells, and we were convinced to upgrade our package. We were told we could rent out our points to cover maintenance fees, but it turns out that's not allowed. Were we misled on purpose? It's hard to say. On another occasion, a staff member opened a credit card without my permission, and that's caused problems for my family. If they had just been honest about the costs, we would have walked away. In New Hampshire, we were urged to upgrade again, with promises of renting our unit on Airbnb. It sounded too good to be true, and it was. The pressure during these presentations was so intense that it caused anxiety for my wife.

My health is a priority, as I'm dealing with recurring prostate cancer, and stress makes it worse. Bluegreen's tactics have taken advantage of me and put my health at risk. Financially, it's been a nightmare. The depression we feel when making payments is unbearable, and we've had to resort to taking out a home equity line of credit to keep up. It became difficult to discern truth from fiction. This experience as a whole has undoubtedly taken years off my life, which I can never regain. We wish to cancel the contract and for Bluegreen to provide some compensation – it's only fair.

Little did we know, this was just the beginning of a long and painful journey into financial ruin. We were promised the moon and the stars, including rental income and luxurious vacations. In reality, it was all a pack of lies designed to part us from our money.

The pressure to buy was relentless, and we ultimately caved in to escape the never-ending sales pitch. Since becoming timeshare owners, our experience has been a never-ending nightmare. Booking a stay has been an exercise in frustration, with promises of availability completely unfulfilled. Instead of addressing our concerns, their staff only pushes us to purchase more points, making empty promises that upgrading our membership would solve all our problems. We were told about "exclusive" deals available only that day and given a supposed "golden ticket" to magically unlock the vacations we were initially promised. All we got from that meeting was an additional ownership contract and deeper in debt.

To make matters worse, we've now spent nearly $20,000 on this timeshare. For that exorbitant sum, we could have traveled the world multiple times. Instead, we've managed to take just three trips totaling eight nights, with each night costing an outrageous $2500. They've taken advantage of unsuspecting customers like us, and it's disgraceful. I urge anyone considering doing business with this company to steer clear and save themselves from the financial nightmare we've endured. I tried booking 4 TIMES at least 60 days in advance, and EVERY time I ended up at the Cambria hotel, not on the beach, for 3 nights and I looked up the price of the rooms there and they were $119/night; hardly luxury.

I was very upset each time and told there was nothing they could do because I didn’t buy travel insurance, and never needed it before for a hotel stay.

Miraculously, I was called the day before my arrival day and told that they found a much nicer room at the Tradewinds fancy resort on the beach and felt much better. When we got to the room, I was horrified! Tiny sparse room that was the worst room I have ever stayed in.

Mold all over the bathroom, only 3 drawers for clothes in a beat-up dresser with one drawer that didn’t close, the phone didn’t work the entire time we were there and I called to fix it many times, old torn blankets, stained bolster on the bed, the door stuck so bad I had trouble getting in and out. It was a dump tucked away in a nice resort, and I have NEVER stayed in such a horrible room!

At the presentation, the speaker was very condescending, repeatedly said that if you can afford this vacation you can afford your club, actually told one guest that he should get a part-time job at Walmart if he needed extra cash. Then the sales guy that took us was nice, but wouldn’t answer any questions about the cost of the club and kept showing us pictures of very nice resorts and beautiful, modern spacious rooms for over an hour. We tried to leave and he finally showed us the price.

I said I’m not making a $22,000 commitment and would rather pay as I go. I mentioned that we go on cruises and he said you have great discounts on cruises, so I had him look up the cruise that we have booked for next September on the big TV in the front of the room so he could show everyone. I got a much better price with a 2 category upgrade, free gratuities and $150 onboard credit through Cruises.com; about $600 savings over his price. We were shown a beautiful, clean modern suite and told members stay in rooms like that. We looked at each other and asked him how you can put us in such a crappy old broken down room if you expect us to plop down over $20,000; he said people pay $500 for the room we were in!

I looked up the room on my phone and it said $189 for a standard room. We asked if we could leave and get our deposit back and he made us go back to the sales room again and kept us there for over another ½ hour trying to convince us that we were making a big mistake passing up this great deal. To top it all off, we met 2 couples by the pool that afternoon that said they had the exact same booking experience! They paid for 4 nights at the Bilmar, were given 3 nights at the Cambria and then miraculously were given the same awful room at the Rumfish, and also said how can you expect us to spend $20K on your club and beautiful suites after being put in such a tiny awful room.

Oh, and the $100 dining card that we were supposed to get at the welcome center just came in the mail and there are only 2 restaurants that we can use it in and they are both cheap nasty places that we wouldn’t go to even if we were starving! I have photos of our luxury accommodations.

Once upon a not-so-magical time, our family of five was lured into a seemingly enchanting offer at a Bass Pro Shop. The bait? A mere $250 for a three-night stay at a resort, sweetened with a $50 Bass Pro gift card and the promise of either $200 in local activities or a $150 MasterCard gift card after a brief, two-hour presentation. Ah, the siren song of a free vacation! But as fairy tales often go, this one quickly turned grim. Our resort dreams were downgraded to a hotel reality, with a meager $50 refund as a consolation prize. Upon our arrival at the Bluegreen Welcome Center, we were greeted not by a knight in shining armor, but by a dragon of a man, breathing down our necks with upsell fire. Our family size exceeded the hotel's capacity, so we were coerced into upgrading our room under threat of a $200 penalty, plus an additional $122 fee. Off to a roaring start, weren't we?

Killing time before check-in, we explored the local kingdom, facing the trials and tribulations that come with three young adventurers and no early access to our castle. But wait, the plot thickens! The resort's exterior was a facade of grandeur, with a water park and picturesque mountain views. However, stepping inside the castle gates, we were welcomed by a less-than-fragrant maiden, bestowing upon us cursed wristbands. These bands, our keys to the kingdom, were to be worn at all times, lest we pay for their replacement.

The elevator to our chamber was a dungeon of its own - a moldy, broken relic from a bygone era. Our room? A den of damp and musty despair, with a bouquet of eau de ashtray. The surfaces, supposedly cleaned by the sorcerers of housekeeping, were smudged and grimy. The realm of the bathroom was ruled by mold and broken fixtures, a kingdom in desperate need of a hero. The quest for a hot shower? Futile. Our family endured a three-day drought of cleanliness, a test of our very humanity.

But the adventure takes a darker turn. The resort, unbeknownst to us, lay in the shadow of the dragon's lair - a landfill. The stench was so fearsome it vanquished the stomachs of our young ones. In search of a silver lining, we ventured to the indoor waterpark, only to find its waters tainted by a murky brown curse. Nightfall brought no respite. Our beds, surrounded by treacherous metal frames, were a battleground for bruised shins. And there, in the heart of the bed, lay a fallen spider - a grim omen. Yet, in this tale of woe, there were glimmers of joy. Outside the cursed walls of Bluegreen, the land was rich with activities that brought smiles to our young ones' faces. The climactic scene unfolded at the obligatory presentation. A comedy of errors ensued, culminating in our swift departure, gift card in hand, after voicing our displeasure to a somewhat bewildered audience.

Our tale concludes with a twist - a potential bed bug invasion, leaving us to strip in our own garage and retreat to the safety of hot showers, praying our castle had not been breached. Thus ends the saga of our Bluegreen escapade - a journey of mold, stink, and disillusionment, costing us a dragon's hoard of $375. We seek recompense from the Bluegreen coffers, as well as reparations for potential damages to our kingdom.

In retrospect, this narrative, originally penned in the ink of anger, has been rewritten with a quill of reflection. While the dragon of Bluegreen scorched our expectations, the surrounding lands provided a sanctuary of fun for our young adventurers. And so, dear reader, we impart this tale not as a chronicle of misery, but as a cautionary fable. May your own quests be free of dragons, hidden traps, and cursed resorts. Here's to journeys filled with genuine enchantment, not just the illusion of it!

It's hard to imagine that a company as large as Bluegreen would be ripping off and getting away with it on a large scale. Look at what others have said about them. I experienced many nonsense, lies, and clever yet predatory sales tricks. My wife and I were lured in with false promises of luxury travel and availability all year round. It's all a sham! We've been stuck throwing our money into this for nothing, paying for services that don't even come close to what was promised.

The sales team in New Orleans was beyond terrible. Pushy, obnoxious, and overbearing. They strong-armed us into a presentation, holding our free stay as leverage; this is a scam. The presentation itself was a never-ending circus. The sales guy roped us in with sweet talk and empty promises. Then his manager came in, amping up the pressure. They sold us on a "real estate investment" lie, claiming we could rent it out. What a load of nonsense! The purposely rushed contract signing left us in the dark about our rights and the details of getting into this mess—no disclosure of the finances, which is likely illegal.

Now, we're stuck with a ton of debt. Getting involved with Bluegreen has been a colossal mistake. The promised availability doesn't exist, and the condo is a burden, not an "investment." Bluegreen, do the right thing and cancel this contract! It's a small ask compared to the damage you've done. I hope everyone who reads this is aware of the lying, cheating company Bluegreen is!

We were told our meeting was two days later but not giving any location for the meeting. They did however ask if we wanted anyone else to attend the meeting with us. The hotel is a Marriott and has nothing to do with BlueGreen. We have no access to anything at BlueGreen. We are far away from downtown St Augustine. If we had known we were going to be transferred to a Marriott with no access to anything at BlueGreen we would have booked our own accommodations. The whole process was very misleading!

My BlueGreen experience. I called to get the vacation package that I bought. I asked about the room and the fees. I spoke to the agent on their chat and she went ahead and booked the room on the chat without giving me a chance to agree. Next thing I know I see a confirmation number on the chat, I then tried to respond only to have the chat closed. I then called and spoke to another agent on the phone explaining that I had not confirmed anything and wanted some more information before I continue. At this point, he said he could finish it up with me. As he is going through I told him no, I don't want to continue to which he stated the booking was confirmed.

I again explained that I did not agree to the terms and I would just take the loss, this is when he connected me to his "supervisor". She went back and looked at the chat session and said, "Ok, I see what happened, I can fix it," so she supposedly canceled the booking and was looking to book something else that met my conditions. I was promised a call back within 24 hours if she could find an alternative for me. Well, in the past 24 hours I got 2 confirmation emails, no cancellation email and crickets from the supervisor. This place is high pressure and the vacation is not really a discount because by the time they add their "fees & parking" you would end up paying more than if the stay was scheduled without BG, so basically I would be paying to go listen to some high pressure sales. No thank you. I will just consider this a loss and move on. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop..will update.

We purchase this time-share years ago as a nice way to vacation around the US. The properties are fine, maintenance fees annually very high. However, the way the sales force treats you is very predatory. We would not purchase again had we known this. Whenever you vacation, you begin getting predatory calls trying to set you up for an "owner update" which is essentially a 2+ hour of sales pitch to buy more points even after you've purchased. We do not want to spend 2+ hours on our vacation with strangers giving a hard sales pitch. When you arrive at the property (that you own....) another predatory sales pitch is done. You have to "pick up your parking pass"--why you can't do this at the front desk is beyond me.

During these lovely predatory contacts, you are typically insulted as an owner that you don't either know enough about the company (send you email updates all of the time), today we were equated to children. Even if you say no we don't want this, the predators keep trying to find reasons to get you into that room and waste 2+ hours of your time, make you uncomfortable, and then ask you to refer/write down emails and phone numbers of your friends and family (which we would never do). All in all, pathetic, Bluegreen should work on their non-owner outreach and instead make their owners more uncomfortable than ever imagined. We have asked repeatedly not to be contacted, doesn't work. Still continues to this day.

Our encounter with Bluegreen was deeply disappointing. The initial promise of a relaxing vacation was overshadowed by a marathon sales pitch that disregarded our concerns. The recommended hotel upgrade, costing an extra $700, turned out to be a letdown with stained furniture and water pressure issues. The presentation we endured for over five hours felt robotic, with relentless upselling despite our expressed financial limitations and hotel dissatisfaction. We reluctantly accepted an offer, expecting a $14,500 cost over a decade. Naturally, the sales staff neglected to mention that the cost would be over $29,000 after interest was calculated.

Signing the contract was rushed and unclear, leading to confusion about cancellation terms. Promised discounts were absent, and our preferred accommodations were denied, despite availability elsewhere. Trying to use our points proved impossible, forcing us to pay out of pocket, and maintenance fees ballooned unreasonably within a year. The unauthorized credit card charges for Travelers Plus and the insistence on auto-renewal or fees demonstrate a disregard for customer preferences. Our experience with Bluegreen Vacations has left us feeling taken advantage of and extremely concerned. I hope that our story warns others to approach this company with caution and awareness of potential issues. Initially, we were intrigued when offered a free vacation in Las Vegas in exchange for attending a presentation. What was presented as a short 45-minute session turned into a full-day commitment. The pressure to attend the presentation immediately upon arrival left me and my boyfriend with limited time to enjoy our vacation.

During the presentation, we were promised a world of travel opportunities through a timeshare. As someone unfamiliar with timeshares, the concept seemed appealing. However, the financial aspects were downplayed until the very end. The sales representative persisted, offering reduced prices and even mentioning a military discount, despite our ineligibility. Hours of negotiation finally led us to reluctantly agree.

Later, we received another offer for a "free" trip, which turned out to be an attempt to sell us even more points. Feeling coerced, we were told the price would double if we didn't commit immediately. Promised availability was lacking and undisclosed maintenance fees caught us off guard. It's clear that information was selectively shared to convince us to commit.

The most concerning part was feeling essentially detained during the contract signing process, with coaching on what to say. The rescission date was buried in the contract, leaving us no chance to cancel since the staff conveniently did not mention it. We genuinely hope that Bluegreen Vacations takes this feedback to heart. Transparency and fairness are crucial in any customer interaction. These charges were not discussed or agreed upon during the sales meeting, and yet we were expected to pay them without question! How can this be legal? Total cost = $21,672.65. We feel trapped in a financial nightmare with no clear solution. We implore anyone considering a Bluegreen timeshare to run the other way and avoid the heartbreak and financial strain we now face. My husband and I were approached at the Bass Pro store in Oklahoma City to purchase a 2-night stay in Branson for $179. He asked us if we had ever stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge in Branson and told him we actually had several years ago. We thought this would be a great weekend for our upcoming anniversary. The sales rep never mentioned that we wouldn't be staying at the Big Cedar Lodge.

A couple of weeks before our scheduled dates, we were informed that we'd be staying at the Branson Grand Plaza Hotel. We assumed this would be a suitable substitute by looking at the hotel's website. Were we ever wrong! First off at the front desk was a sign that the pool and hot tub were closed. Next, we couldn't get into the room. A worker came and said, "You had to push it really hard, almost kick it!" We got in and the musky smell was overwhelming. It was awful and dirty. The bed was about a foot off the floor. I have since read reviews on this hotel and it barely received a one-star rating.

Complaints of anything from bed bugs, roaches and filthy bathrooms. We checked back out in about 30 minutes. We were not staying at a place like this on our anniversary or any other day! It was almost impossible to find another hotel room in Branson on a Friday night at 4:30. We finally found a vacancy in at a Best Western (sight unseen) in Branson West. This is a small town about 10 miles away from Branson proper. This cost us another $161 for about a 2-star hotel with no restaurants or even convenience stores anywhere around. At least it was clean, and the personnel were nice. After all this, we were almost late to our Sight and Sound show starting at 7:30.

After this one night, we decided to drive back to Tulsa to stay at a decent Homewood Suites which cost us another $165. In total our 2-nights cost us over $500 (including the $179). When we got home, I called Bluegreen customer service to ask them for a refund of our $179 as we couldn't stay in the horrible hotel which they had reserved for us. After on hold for 45 minutes the agent agreed to a refund. Just a short time later we received an e-mail telling us after further review they couldn't refund the $179 because we had received a $75 Bass Pro gift card and a $175 Visa card. On June 15 when we signed up for the vacation, we were promised these gift cards after attending the sales presentation and were also promised a wonderful hotel stay. We did attend the sales presentation so were entitled to the gift cards. But we could not stay in the inferior hotel! This spoiled our anniversary weekend! We should have stayed home and went out to dinner!

Stay away from the Bluegreen sales reps at Bass Pro or Cabela's! It's a total scam! Fortunately, we did not succumb to their timeshare sales pitch. We told them we weren't interested which was priced at $48,500! After two or three salesmen and alternative plans for $30,000 and another for $200 a month in order to get a low-cost hotel room, we finally we able to leave! Don't fall for these "awesome" vacations! Walk on by these sales reps at the stores! Totally not worth it!

Salespeople used emotional tricks and made promises that weren't true to persuade us. Affordable and flexible travel is non-existent. Salespeople told us they were upgrading our original contract to “fix” issues, but they signed us up for a whole separate contract, loan, and maintenance fees. Now we are paying for 2 contracts and have even more issues. We still cannot rent the timeshare; we don’t have enough points to go where we want, and the availability is even worse than before. Our first encounter with Bluegreen Vacations left us feeling deceived and burdened with financial responsibility that continues to fester. We received numerous calls from them offering a getaway for $200, which eventually dropped to $49. The stipulation was that we had to attend a 90-minute presentation, but instead we endure a 4-hour presentation. While we were initially reluctant, we decided to give it a chance, unaware of the troubles it would bring. Our weekend getaway to the Bluegreen resort in New Hampshire was marred by our firm decision not to entertain the salespeople's offers. We attended the presentation, which consisted of hours of videos and presentations, and declined to make any purchases due to our strict financial restraints.

The sales team enticed us with a "special deal" that supposedly aligned with our budget. They mentioned foreclosed units that were sold at lower rates, along with the biannual points options. We soon realized that the reality of using these points for vacations was far from what they had described. Booking vacations became a frustrating endeavor as there was either no availability or we didn't have enough points to secure the dates we wanted. The destinations that were available often required additional expenses for flights, car rental, etc., making the whole experience even more costly.

Since 2018, we have only been able to utilize our timeshare once. For four years, we have been paying for a timeshare that has failed to deliver on its promises. Not to mention, we still owe over $8,000 on the loan, and the maintenance fees continue to rise, now exceeding $900 annually. As an active-duty Army couple, time spent with our family is invaluable to us. If we had known that we would be locked into a contract without ever being able to enjoy the benefits they sold us on, we would never have agreed to this purchase. We urge customers to exercise extreme caution when considering any offers from this company. The promises made during their sales presentations should be taken with a grain of salt.

We had to change our location 3 times before we found one that was available for when we were trying to book.

We ended up booking the Smokey Mountains "resort" which really was just a Super 8 Motel....We were able to upgrade to the Laurel crest "resort" for an extra $149. We probably would've had more space and amenities at the Super 8. Our "resort" room was below the first floor, as in we looked out of our window and saw the dirt and roots from the bushes. It being in the "basement" made it dark to begin with also the bedroom and living room lights did not work. The room was small for just 2 adults, we could not be up and moving about in the room at the same time. We wish we would have read these reviews before we were mislead into booking with this company. Beware of the Bluegreen timeshare scam! My experience with Bluegreen Resorts and their timeshare schemes has been an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others about their deceitful practices. From the moment I attended a "quick" presentation after I was invited at the San Gennaro festival in Las Vegas, I was subjected to relentless pressure, deceptive sales tactics, and misleading financial information. Bluegreen Resorts promised me the ability to sell the timeshare for a profit, but it was a complete lie. They conveniently failed to mention that selling it back to the company was impossible. Booking vacations is practically impossible too, despite their assurances of easy and affordable travel. The lack of availability has made the timeshare useless. What's worse is that they never disclosed information that would have prevented me from even considering buying.

I wasn't told about the escalating maintenance fees, that’s right, I’m paying to maintain properties I can't even visit. They also concealed the fact that my heirs could potentially inherit this burden and be responsible for the fees. Bluegreen Resorts ignored my complaints, telling me to purchase more points instead, it’s always about getting you to buy more and more! Bluegreen Resorts engages in deceptive gimmicks and creates a financial nightmare for unsuspecting “owners”. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay far away from this company and protect yourself from their manipulative tactics. Buying a Bluegreen timeshare is no better than throwing your money and time away. I look forward to the day that these crooks get fined for what they are doing with these timeshares. How is this legal??? They lie about how many points a vacation “costs” and the open availability. We tried to book things out 11 months in advance and everything is booked!! Luckily we were able to cancel everything quickly.

The salesperson told us we had 9 days to cancel, but the contract actually says 5. At one point a salesperson tried to show us examples of how “cheap” we could get a ski vacation in January and put the dates in as October for the search bar and tried to hide it. We got 10k points and was told an average vacation was 79 points a night. But in reality, you will easily spend all those points on one trip if you can even get it booked. I mean, sure there are nights that cost 79 points a night, but they are in an undesirable location in an undesirable time of year.

I wish I had read these reviews before I ended up as yet another negative review for a company that doesn't even care about these reviews. I booked a vacation at a great price in Myrtle Beach. I was skeptical, but I assumed that a company wanting my business would do a good job trying to impress me. I was very wrong. I initially booked my stay in April for July. About a week before my trip, I got a call from Bluegreen saying that the hotel I booked at which was the Four Seasons was overbooked. Classic bait and switch. They told me that they were putting me in an oceanfront property that had a kitchenette and could sleep 6 people. I did not research the disaster of a hotel I was going to be staying at, yet another error on my part.

They sent me to Hotel Blue, please read those reviews, they are all true. There was one staff member there at the front desk that was amazing. The staff overall is rude, lack customer service skills, and don't care about giving good customer experience. The front desk person checking me had zero eye contact, zero smile, and zero attempts to engage in conversation. I was also told I needed to have a $150.00 hold on my card for any damages, or I could pay a nonrefundable fee of $39.95. There wasn't any way I was giving this place another dime, so I chose the hold. I had also did a video of the each room before and after I left.

After reading other reviews, I need to make sure that I have the hold credited. The lobby was not modern. It was outdated and dark. I was ready to leave even before I had checked in. I was initially in a nicer room on the 15th floor. However, the elevators are sketchy and definitely need repair and updating, if you could even get one. We carried our luggage up 15 flights of stairs. I called the front desk and asked for any room closer than the 15th floor. I was happy to be placed on the 4th floor. The room had sand on the floor and the chairs. The balcony door lock took a bit of maneuvering to lock. The ac unit kept the air around 73 degrees. I could not get it to change even though I was setting a lower temperature. It was loud and definitely needed to be repaired. I swept the bedroom floor and the broom grazed the cord and caused the ac unit to turn off.

I wiggled the plug and it came back on, that cannot be safe. The dresser had stains on it, the nightstand had a wobbly leg, and the safes didn't work. The bathroom had mold and mildew, a slow moving drain in the bathroom sink, a shower head that rested on the wall, and an outlet that looked like it had been burnt. There isn't any housekeeping, you have to take your trash out daily as well as ask for towels. The lazy river is nasty, yellow water and very dirty. The hallways need to be vacuumed, they are disgusting. There was a roach in the stairwell. I had issues getting in and out of my room the second day of my stay until I checked out.

At this point, I was already seeing Bluegreen in a very negative light. That next day, I went to my presentation. The preview center was the opposite of my hotel. It was clean, bright, and updated. I confirmed with the person who checked me in at the desk that the presentation was only 2 hours, because that is all I was giving them. That is what I agreed to during my initial call and I was going to honor my part. I waited until I was called back for my presentation. The sales person assigned to me was Whitney. We talked a little bit casually and everything was fine. She shows me to the presentation room. I was telling her how unhappy I was with the accommodations and my last minute change. She said that Hotel Blue was not part of their resort. I then thought I could be honest and said, I am only giving the 2 hours for the presentation because I am so unhappy so far.

She said the presentation is 2 hours, but that I needed to go in the back then. I said no, I will not. I was only told the 2 hours in the call. She said that I would not be eligible for the gifts and would have to pay full rate for the room. I said no. I am honoring the agreement and they should be honest with consumers. She said I needed to go to the front desk. I walked out to the front desk saying I was kicked out. I said I am only honoring the 2 hours that was agreed to when I initially accepted this offer. I said my accommodations was subpar and I felt it was a bait and switch. Some gentleman in a suit said he doesn't know about where I'm staying, clearly he didn't care either because he interrupted me when I brought it up. But, he did say Whitney is new and doesn't understand everything yet but that the 120 minutes fulfilled my obligation.

Whitney was no longer friendly or nice at that moment. So much for them saying we are nice to everyone whether they buy or not. Anyway, I went back into the room and Whitney gave me my name sticker. She didn't even look at me after that. She also left me in there. I noticed everyone else had a salesperson still with them. At one point, one of the other sales persons asked who was with me and I gave him a rundown of my wonderful experience with her. He said she is new and he will talk to her supervisor. Nothing changed, I still sat there alone until the presenter came in, Earl. Earl did a great job interacting with the group and sharing pictures of his son. He did talk a lot about how he would stay in awful hotels when he was younger. I wanted to raise my hand and say that is exactly where your company put me.

I finished my presentation and I was just done. I stopped at the front desk to make sure I wasn't going to be charged full price for the room since I fulfilled my 2 hr obligation. While I was at the front desk, one of the ladies told me she had overheard my conversation earlier about my accommodations and gave me a number for customer experience. I was thankful for her kindness. I also asked if I would receive my gift cards and they told me no, that I had to go in the back for them. I said, no thank you, that isn't worth it. I left and went to my car. I was in the parking lot when I got a call and was told I could get my gift cards, which were $75.00, but it was about principle now.

Unfortunately for me, Whitney had to take me back for them. She did not look at me or speak to me at all. New or not, that is terrible behavior. I was absolutely not rude at all. There was complete silence as we waited in line at the counter in the back while another group was being waited on. The lady behind the desk back there was nice to me at least. I did call that number. I don't know if anything will change or be done, I highly doubt giving their total disregard for me during the presentation. It is clear that if you're unhappy and not buying anything that they couldn't care less about you. I do not recommend this company.

This organization does not tell the truth from the moment they try securing your vacation. In fact with as many bad reviews I am surprised the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Chamber of Commerce does not hold them accountable. So, my wife and I were booking a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. We love going there, it is usually a pretty fantastic vacation. This year we decided to use part of the week we get to have our four grandchildren down for grandscamp, to take them to Dollywood and other great places around. We happened to get an "invite" for a three night, four day RESORT vacation. I think for the entire three nights we paid 250 dollars or something like that. Not a bad deal.

I told the lady booking our trip that we needed a suite big enough for six people, which included our four grandchildren. They said, "no problem, our suites have a pull out couch and will sleep six. We left the Chattanooga area after I got out of my office around 530pm. Everyone excited to embark upon our long weekend getaway. Well, our resort suite was not that at all. It is actually a two star hotel with two queen beds... and that is it! I do not stay in two star hotels. But by the time we ate dinner and got to our hotel and got checked in, etc... it was after 10pm. What at 10pm were we to do. Long story short, my grandson said he was willing to sleep on the floor. God bless him, what a trooper.

I went down to the front desk, as they had zero rollaway cots. They said they could give me three comforters. So we made the best and got three thick comforters and made a bedding area for him on the floor. I began calling the Bluegreen folks at 0830 the next morning. I spent more than five hours on the phone with different people. They tried telling me this was acceptable. I told them it was not even close to acceptable accommodations. We would remain on hold for 45 minutes and longer at times. They consistently would say, that it has been elevated and we will hear from someone soon. It is now 11pm. I have not received one call from them all day, nor one email. They said the leadership knows my name when I call in.

Sure they do, they all told everyone who may answer the phone to appease us and string us along. There is more to this story. But I do not want to waste any more time as this organization has wasted a lot of my time already. They are liars. I did not purchase btw. I read about a class action suit Military Veterans has against them for deceiving them. I stand with my brethren in arms. I will not give this organization one penny. And I call for all US Military Veterans and Active Duty to boycott this organization for being deceptive and smiling at you when they do it. Bluegreen has lied, deceived, and manipulated us into signing a contract. They told us all these great benefits, and “how this is the most cost-effective way to travel”. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEIR LIES! You’re going to pay thousands of dollars JUST LIKE WE DID, for something WE CANNOT USE, BECAUSE THEY NEVER HAVE AVAILABILITY. The biggest joke is that they said we can rent out our timeshare for a profit, but if we can’t get a reservation for ourselves, how in the world can we rent it? So, this is clearly not the real estate investment their salespeople promised. They didn’t care about our financial situation, they just cared about themselves! Bluegreen is VERY UNETHICAL and doesn’t have a single ounce of integrity in them! Watch out for their support staff too, as they are trained on how to back up the salespeople’s lies.

We attended a timeshare presentation offered by Bluegreen Vacations during a two-day stay at their Patrick Henry Square property in Williamsburg Va. My husband was approached by a rep at Bass Pro Shop and offered a discounted stay at any property plus a $50 gift card. In addition, we would receive another $100 gift card if we sat through 2hour presentation.

We attended presentation with attitude we were not going to purchase anything and fortunately held fast to that. We sat through the presentation and then we’re taken to a cubicle where we were presented with two vacation package options. One package was $17,000 that we could purchase for so much down and finance the rest over 10 years at 17 percent interest which is absurd and I told the rep that. In addition, you have to pay $1,000 yearly maintenance fee which apparently increases each year (though the rep failed to mention that). In addition, this timeshare is forever, so your heirs are stuck with it. While the sales rep was courteous and professional, her manager could not grasp the fact that these packages were beyond what we wanted to pay. She was extremely condescending.

I think they gave up on us when I told them that $1,000 is half of what we might spend on a vacation and that we do not finance vacations at a 17 percent rate. I later discovered in reading reviews that it can be difficult to book a vacation at one of their resorts. However, if that is the case they have a partnership with Choice hotels where one can stay. However, I don’t consider that a great option and we generally do not stay at Choice hotels because they usually are not that nice.

They did show us a beautiful three-bedroom suite at the Patrick Henry location but I doubt it is used for vacationers as it was in pristine condition. I wish I would have thought to ask what the maintenance fees were being used for at Patrick Henry because it had a tired and somewhat dated look to it. If anyone ever considers buying a timeshare, do your research. I have never heard anything good about any timeshare so we went to presentation with the mindset that we weren’t going to be pressured into buying anything. We did receive the gift card which was a good exchange for our time of 2 1/2 hours. I actually think they were glad to get rid of us as I wasn’t all that quiet in trying to tell them no. But you have to be forceful or they won’t let you go, judging from the reviews I read afterwards.

My wife was approached in Cabellas for a vacation deal while we were shopping with our two small children. My wife specifically told the rep when we vacation we typically use Airbnb so we can have multiple rooms, a full kitchen and outdoor access. The rep said this would be perfect for us based on those factors. The rep showed my wife a beautiful resort with an incredible suite that the rep claimed we would be staying in for a small fee as long as we sat through a 2hr presentation after which we would receive a $150 Visa gift card. The rep pushed it as a benefit they’re sponsoring for veterans. As a family of veterans my wife was quick to jump on this deal as it seemed to be a no brainer at the time.

Fast forward a couple months and we were notified we would in fact NOT be staying at one of their resorts but a Holiday Inn down the street. Conveniently this was already past our cancellation deadline. My wife was frustrated but figured her and I can make the best of it and we would leave the kids with their grandparents. A few more months goes by and it’s time for our trip. At this point my wife is an unexpected 15 weeks pregnant and is having a rough pregnancy. Upon our arrival we asked if there was anything else available besides the Holiday Inn, the rep said no so we took our pass and headed to the Holiday Inn. We booked a king bed as I’m a very large man and my wife is pregnant and we were given a queen bed with a broken mini fridge in the room.

I drove back to BlueGreen and after laying into the rep enough he agreed to put us up in a partnering resort down the road (which I found interesting as he had told us earlier there were no other options for us). The rep also told us we were not the first people to get stuck in a Holiday Inn when promised a resort stay, pretty telling right there. We had to pay out of pocket to upgrade to a king bed when we arrived at the other resort where the girl checking us in said and I quote “It’s ** how Bluegreen lies to so many people”. Noted.

Now the 2hr presentation, also a lie, it was almost 5.5hrs long. We eventually sign up for a smaller package of 10K points as the salesman made it out as though we would be able to get multiple vacations a year in prime locations with this package. They gladly took our 3.5K down payment and sent us on our way. We get back to our room and start doing some research and come to find out that 10K points cannot get us ONE 7 day vacation during peak travel season. We immediately went back to cancel and called the customer service line to file a complaint.

The lady on the other line essentially blamed us for the entire thing instead of the fact their reps are misleading at best. Our reward for all this? Over FORTY calls from mortgage companies the following day despite Bluegreen assuring us they don’t share any information with other lenders. I could not possibly be more disgusted with this company and can assure you every time I’m in a Cabellas and see their reps talking to unsuspecting customers I will warn them to walk away.

We purchased this vacation package in June 2022, for $299.00. Between December of 2022 and April of 2023, we experienced multiple hospital visits and a death in the family. The end result of this chaos is equivalent to over $100,000 in medical bills. I called their customer service to ask for a refund for this vacation package because we will never be able to use it now, and we need every penny we can scrape together, for medical bills. The only solution they provided was to extend the time we had to use it. We have neither the time nor the resources for this option. I explained that we are on the brink of being homeless because of these medical bills and we need every penny we can get. I explained that even if they extended the time for another 10 years, we still would not be able to use this package. We do not have the physical or financial ability to do so. I even offered to send them copies of the medical bills to prove that I'm being truthful.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that they have supervisors, but they don't talk to customers on the phone. I tried to reason with them as much as I possibly could, but they aren't willing to budge, even with extreme unforeseen circumstances. We didn't just change our mind about taking a vacation; it just became an impossibility. Just want a simple refund of my $299.00.

Bluegreen approached us and offered us a $100 Visa gift card for sitting through a 1-hour presentation. The $100 Visa gift card WAS NOT WORTH what we got ourselves into with them! It’s non-stop lies, misrepresented benefits, and deceptive sales tactics that have caused us to sink into more than $14,000 in debt, for literally nothing because we’ve only been able to use this once (twice, if you count the trip we took to one of their resorts, but paid out of pocket by booking online). We’ve searched for availability numerous times and have never found any destination worth traveling to. We were there for hours being tortured by the 3 sales reps over the course of 4 hours, after we were told this wouldn’t be more than 30-45 minutes.

Manipulation and lying to people to get them to purchase a timeshare is the only means through which Bluegreen can sell their timeshares, as they are practically worthless, difficult to use, and far more expensive than traveling through regular means. These incredibly dodgy sales tactics and behaviors are nefarious, something that got Bluegreen in legal trouble in 2016. They have clearly not learned anything from that class-action lawsuit and, instead, have chosen to continue these "high-pressure" sales tactics, all the while making all sorts of false claims to get anyone to purchase a timeshare.

I'm going to be honest, we have enjoyed some of the benefits of our Bluegreen vacation. We've taken vacations that we wouldn't have if we didn't have bluegreen points that we didn't want to lose. Hawaii was beautiful, Tennessee was memorable and so many more vacations including Aruba that we would not have taken if it weren't for Bluegreen.

With that being said, every time they tell you they want you to attend an "owner update meeting" they're pretty much telling me as an owner that I need to upgrade. It is not an hour long meeting, it usually ends up being 3 hours in the hot seat, and us repeatedly saying no and them continuing to bully us or putting a new amount on the table. They started off with $44,000 that we needed to upgrade, and then went as low as $10,000. Now while we are owners and enjoy what we already have every time we take a vacation they want us to attend one of these ownership meetings and it just consists of bullying tactics in my opinion. Our latest ownership meeting was March 2023, this was awful. I was exhausted after this meeting.

Lastly, they said things like our points will never change in price, and our ownership is paid for our maintenance fees have gone from $1,200 a year to $1,900 a year. Again we enjoy the vacations, not all of the resorts are updated or beautiful but the areas that we visit are, And we have enjoyed our ownership just not the tactics by bluegreen to bully the already owners to pay more.

We have now been victimized multiple times in multiple states, so it is obvious that these fraudulent tactics are not only common but part of their business practices. We have officially requested to be released from five separate contracts at this point, all sold to us under incomplete, false, or misleading information.

Please understand that these salespeople, will quite literally, talk over you, make up their own definitions of the product they are representing, and lie directly to your face. For example, the following statements, concepts, and “benefits” are based on lies and half-truths. You can travel the world over, maybe, but not with Bluegreen, only through costly exchange companies like RCI. All these properties can be booked without the benefit of timeshare contracts or exchange companies. You need to use our financing, or you need to open a credit card to own…this is a huge costly mistake that you might not be able to remedy.

This is a one-time offer, only good today…this is a load of crap! And even if you fall for that, you have a right to rescind your contract LEGALLY. In nearly every aspect, key details of timeshare ownership were omitted from the presentations repeatedly. Shame on you, Bluegreen Resorts for relying on false advertising and deceptive sales tactics to do business.

Prior to doing that I booked a reservation for one of my kids and they wouldn’t check them in because they weren’t owners. So, get this…They pitch rental income, but in order for me to rent it out, I have to be there at check in to show my ID so my renters are able to check in. Do they expect me to fly around the country every year to check in a renter…It’s so ridiculous that it is par for the course at Bluegreen.

This along with many other misrepresentations, was the reason why we purchased in the first place. We were pressured to purchase with all of these lies and ended up being stuck with this timeshare that has cost me $7,000 and I still have a remaining loan balance of $11,900. For what, lies? They did not even disclose the things that they were legally supposed to, like the legal cooling off period or the trust in lending statements. It looked like a resort I would want to stay at. We checked in and were given our key. The room had one queen sized bed and the A/C didn't work. If you turned on the air it made a loud screeching sound. No big deal. I went to the lobby and was told "Sorry there are no more rooms". I asked about paying for upgrades, paying to stay at another resort as there are 3 or 4 in Branson. The answer didn't change. I was told to call the main number and sort it out with them.

After a 45 minute phone call they refunded me my upgrade price and kept the cost of the vacation because there is only a 30 day cancellation policy and I booked in December. I showed up excited and ready to relax. Blue Green basically gave me an ultimatum of lose my money or sleep in a small room with a queen sized bed and no air. RUN away! RUN now and never look back! We were sent on our way with the sun going down and nowhere to stay. We found a place on the lake just as storms rolled in. Later that night there was a tornado on the ground right by us that killed 5 people. BlueGreen did their best to help us join that death toll. It's a small amount of money. Of course the day after check in we had to sit through a sales marketing presentation. Get to the end and a skeptical but fill out paperwork to have only my “FICO score” checked to see what our numbers would look like. Our sales person walks us to the front doors as we were on limited time due to having a swamp tour scheduled. Leave there and get notifications my credit has been ran as a MORTGAGE INQURY. Go back to the next to discuss the matter. No one knows why. I let it blow over and inform them We do not wish to proceed with the purchase. We are walked to the front desk to receive our TWO $50 gift cards they promise for sitting through the presentation. The gift cards are mysteriously gone! No one can find them.

My husband and I are then asked, repeatedly, if we’re sure we didn’t come back yesterday and get the gift cards. As if we came all the way from Indiana to New Orleans to steal two $50 gift cards. Smh. My husband advises them not to ask us that anymore as we have answered the question three times already. Meanwhile, our ** counterparts are looking on as they receive their gift cards and go on about their day. Finally after about 20 mins, the manager comes out with the most insincere apology I’ve ever heard and offers us ONE $50 gift card. We decline and instead ask for corporate's number. Leave again and call corporate to inform them of what has taken place. Corporate agrees the account says two gift cards and tries to contact that manager but she’s “gone.” We will get a call back while they look into the matter. Whatever, we go on to enjoy our vacation.

Fast forward two days. We’re at home & my husband calls corporate again. The lady is apologetic and says she will issue the gifts cards and look into the incident with said manager. Then I check the mail and what do you know, there’s a letter from Barclays advising I have applied for a Bluegreen credit card with them. Um…I DID NOT!! So not only do I now have a mortgage inquiry because of them, now I also have a credit card inquiry! I call the credit card company and give them the run down. They flag my acct as fraudulent and advise it should be removed from my credit in 30-45 days. Then, here comes FedEx dropping off an envelope…with ONE $50 gift card. Smh. Sounds nice to only pay taxes and fees on a hotel room. But I would have rather just paid for my room rather than deal with this headache Bluegreen has caused me.

In short, I booked this Bluegreen vacation in September for my mother and family to have a nice vacation. My mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2021 and after a painful journey of chemo and radiation, went on home hospice in June 2022. I quit my job as a Primary Care Provider, Physician Associate, to move home to Tulsa OK and take care of her. This vacation at Big Cedar was affordable for our situation, and within driving distance, so it seemed like a good idea. From the get go, we were lied to about the package and mislead about many features of this experience.

Upon buying the blue green vacation package, we were told we would likely be able to get in within one month, which was important since we had no prognosis for how much time she has left. They said we had no way to check availability until we purchased the package. Once we did, we found the soonest booking was over 3 months away. Thankfully, she has lasted this long, though is declining in strength, energy, and having vastly increased pain.

We arrived Monday 1/30 in a terrible storm, almost crashed our car coming in, and arrived to a resort with no restaurants, no access to outside resources, and no phones or lines of communication to Big Cedar resort. Upon check in, we found out we were lied to on the phone about many of the amenities and room features we were promised.

If this were a regular vacation, I promise I would not be so upset about these issues. But given this could be my mom’s very last vacation, and that my grandmother, my partner, and myself need a much needed respite from caregiving and the weight of this situation.

Things we were lied to about when we had our reservation made and upon confirmation of the reservation, where I spoke with Mikel (407-587-8511) 3 weeks ago:

-We were told we would have full access to all resorts and amenities of each resort on the property, which we found out upon check in was not true.
-Access to shuttles to take us all over the resort. We found out no shuttles come to paradise point, which is a big deal since my mom is mobility impaired and can only walk short distances, but wanted to have freedom to explore (She cannot drive due to her condition and high doses of pain medication).
    - We were promised the room would have 2 Jacuzzi tubs, which we hoped would help my mom with her pain and help the rest of us relax. There are no bathtubs in the room at all.
-We were told on confirmation that the resort would do something special for her to make this trip special, and nothing has been done.

-Told there would be a large breakfast at the vacation presentation, which I showed up to and there was no breakfast or food at all.

Since we have been here, the heated pools have been cold, the hot tubs have been closed, and we have had to drive in dangerous conditions to get groceries. This was partially paid for by money donated to her through a gofundme, which makes me feel sick that we were lied to and taken advantage of given this situation. I called customer service and spoke with an Andrew who would not help me on the phone, would not file a complaint, and would not direct me to anyone else to speak to. At the end of the day, we were lied to, and I cannot recommend this organization.

Zero hospitality can be found at Bluegreen Vacations. If you think for one second that you are safe, just because you are in the Smokies Mountains away from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by good folks. Heads up, you are a sitting duck. WE KNOW! They have conned us out of over $100,000 and counting. We went on what we thought would just be a weekend getaway and were bullied into 5-plus hours of browbeating, high-pressure sales tactics. Our IDs were confiscated and then we were belittled.

In our case, Bluegreen's employees refused to accept our rejection and use harassing tactics like teasing us about being cheap and being silly for letting money stop us from taking our dream vacations. During the first presentation, we were very explicitly told that Bluegreen has a partnership with Disney. Through that partnership, we'd be able to not only stay at Bluegreen properties but also at the Disney resort in Orlando. Of course, this was one of many lies.

One of the main pitches thrown at you by Bluegreen employees is that these are not timeshares. "Don't think of these as timeshares and get that thought out of your head!" These are, instead, properties for us to invest in. This is real estate, not timeshares, in other words. We could rent out our timeshare freely as we'd like and even use that money to pay our loan balance, maintenance fees, etc. As property owners, we'd see our investment pay itself almost immediately. All this is even facilitated through Bluegreen, but none of that ended up being true.

Bluegreen employees will try to loop you into their own internal lies and go so far as to suggest that we misrepresent facts about our income to get a better interest rate and lower monthly payments. During all our applications, financial information was changed without us consenting to it or agreeing to it. I am 83, I invested in a timeshare clear back in 1997, but back then, Bluegreen was different, and I used to love my timeshare. I acknowledge that I’m not an age where I can travel anymore. Regardless of your circumstances, if you already own a timeshare, especially at Bluegreen Vacations, you need to understand that you are a target for greedy salespeople. Unfortunately, now, they clearly are operating like big businesses that take advantage of all, but especially the elderly. Although I am old, I understand that I was duped into believing that an upgrade could lead to revenue generation through rental to friends and family.

They did not tell me the long-term cost of the upgrade. Rather than going through the required financial and lending documents as required by law, they probably figured they could get away with not disclosing it and unfortunately, they did. Instead, they got me to opt out of a paper contract, further confusing me by handing me a CD-ROM, to review the contract. Giving someone my age and income, a 15.99% interest rate, and an increase in maintenance fees of over $1,000 is usury, especially when those fees were just a bit more than $100 before the upgrade. I was clearly taken advantage of. The salespeople were acting predatory, and this is heartbreaking. I’m under a lot of stress because of this and it’s not fair, not at my age. I hope that when you read this review, you will heed my warnings.

Unwittingly, we stumbled upon the fiasco that is Bluegreen Resorts by being distracted by a Marketing Agent who was strategically placed at the Bass Pro Shops at Branson Landing. As we were on the tail end of our vacation at the time, the thought of getting to come back to the area at a deeply discounted room rate was intriguing. In hindsight, as much as we are fans of Bass Pro Shops, it is unsettling that they would allow what is clearly a TIMESHARE SALES SCHEME to be connected to their good name. In truth, Bluegreen is leveraging the reputation of Bass Pro Shops, in order to elevate itself in an unethical way, in our opinion. These Bluegreen employees station themselves in the store to sell mini-vacations and 2/3-night stays for practically nothing with the hitch that you simply have to “attend a presentation.”

Although we arrived for the presentation at the instructed time, we were made to wait far too long for a salesperson. He immediately dove into a “survey” about what our wants and needs were regarding travel and vacation for our family. We now understand this was nothing more than the fuel they needed to manipulate us into thinking they cared. In fact, it was how they “customized” the presentation to lure us into a false sense of security. This, combined with flat-out falsehoods related to availability, flexibility, costs, and fees - topped off with the implications that this is a “real estate investment,” equated to our being locked into an expensive contract.

We are not stupid people. In fact, I bet most people who own a timeshare aren’t. However, we were simply taken advantage of and manipulated while trapped in a situation for over 4 hours with a cast of characters who introduced themselves as former therapists and reverends. We were rushed through the signing of the contract and misdirected and distracted whenever we had questions, especially ones related to costs, availability, and financing. These are not ethical people. This is not an ethical business.

I am considered a senior citizen and after being defrauded by Bluegreen, I honestly believe I was targeted due to my age. After listening to the presentation, I was instantly intrigued and so happy to hear that this is NOT A TIMESHARE - REALLY? I purchased the timeshare in 2019 to use exclusively at the South Hampton Resort in New Hampshire. The sales representatives GUARANTEED that I would be able to stay at the resort, one full week, every single year, during the holiday season. To date, I have not been able to make a reservation at the resort during winter, spring, summer, or fall. I do not even own enough points for a weekend stay. They blatantly lied to me about what I was buying. Bottom line:

    • I was sold on buying the initial 3-day weekend for a hotel that was not available by the salesperson at the Bass Pro Shop.
    • I was told Blue Green was a vacation club and not a timeshare, so they were very different.
    • I was told with 5,000 points I could get a week or close to a week of time off season.
    • I was told that booking New Hampshire every year would not be a problem as long as I booked in advance. I thought a year in advance was more than reasonable but, that did not work out.

    • I was not aware that the maintenance fees would continue after my death and become an annual debt nightmare for my family. I now realize this is an overpriced luxury.

Meaning of Fraud - A deception practiced in order to induce another to give up possession of property or surrender a right. This was the sales tactic used to sell me a timeshare property based on the oral agreement between me and the sales person that I would be able to exercise my right to consistently roll my unused points year over year so that I could use them at any future time without any restrictions by simply paying a point roll over fee.

I am now 6 years after my purchase date and told I cannot roll over any of my points year after year as they all have expiration dates on them! These expiration dates are conveniently tied to the bi-annual points that I am designated to gain every 2 years. This is the exact definition of EXTORTION - Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage. The act or an instance of extorting something, as by psychological pressure. Unless you go over your final sales contract, line by line and have the sales person initial every agreed upon point or have your attorney review their final sales contract which would take several days to distinguish between unfair sales practices/promises versus the actual final written sales contract produced at the time of finalizing the deeded process.

It would take a matter of days to close these deals instead of hours as they pressure you into purchasing points to use at one of their precious resorts. When in fact the number of points needed to redeem a stay at their resort far exceeds the value of points you accumulated. It is my recommendation that a consumer never buy from Blue Green vacations as it has been my experience their maintenance fees will always continue to go up and access to resort amenities is continuously being diminished either by ongoing maintenance issues and or so-called upgrades.

SUPER NICE STAFF all the way - from the Welcome Center to the end when I bought into the deal. It is a deal - listen and use your brain - lifetime deal- tons of new hotels and resorts adding each year. With inflation - it is not a scam. The folks at the Sevierville TN location were five stars all the way. Shout out to Ronny - who did an amazing presentation. It was no pressure and just simply - he kept it real. I am 45 and worked in the hospitality industry for many years - and I can tell anyone - from what I heard - this was really a no brainer for me. I hope I am not naive - but I see the value in it. Yes, there are fees and the 17% interest rate - but I will pay that baby off so fast.

My con was having to stay at a Quality Inn - not my preferred choice of hotels...but the room was clean - though very basic. Breakfast was a no for me...but we were in walking distance of a local breakfast place. Hotel was right smack in the middle of everything - so that also was a plus. Would have loved to stay in a nicer dig though. The owner suite after signing up was also basic - I was expecting catered food - not chips and soda...so that was interesting to me. Presentation in the big group setting was about 2 hours - right about what was promised. What was not told - was the time - you would spend AFTER the presentation - to talk to the sales Rep and tour model units. Took me about 7 hours total. This location in TN had a special center for small kids to play games, eat snacks, color - and just hang out. There was adult supervision for that as well. I got what I think is a deal and I like it so far.

In my opinion if you are still working, have children in school and don't have the luxury of being able to travel anytime you want, hold off on buying (peek seasons are hard to book). Also I would recommend paying cash, the interest rates to finance on timeshares is outrageous, you end up paying way more than what it is worth. After dealing with Bluegreen for well over a decade, we are fed up! Nothing about their “ownership” was what was promised. My husband and I loved the idea of a point system. It made a lot of sense when presented to us, but later found that the reservation process is a nightmare at best. We upgraded several times over the years, always being told that we would have more/better travel options, yet it never pans out. Even being a Gold Member required us to make reservations at least 12 months in advance just to have HOPE of getting what we wanted. Changing our anniversary date (when we are allotted our annual points) even required buying more points.

You would think over the 3 years we were asking for that change they could have informed us it would require an additional purchase. After purchasing more points, we were told that it wasn’t necessary to make a new purchase. They would not take the unwanted points back. There have been so many unkept promises, lies, and omissions, it leaves my head spinning!

This whole setup is very deceiving & sketchy! We purchased a hotel package through a kiosk kinda thing at Cabela's in Illinois & all was good. We decided to book the St. Pete's Florida Location a few months after. We booked our stay online from a reminder we received from BLUEGREEN Vacations. All the amenities associated with the email show the Bluegreen Tradewinds location in St. Pete's Florida.

We arrive at the visitors center (across the street from the Bluegreen resort). We pick up our envelope & we are told that were staying at Cambria hotel in Madeira Beach.... Well that's not St. Petersburg (that was the location we signed up for). Madeira Beach was not an option when we signed on for this!! It was not mentioned at the time of purchase that you get shuffled off to another location/town (so make sure you have a rental car or you will be Ubering everywhere) OR BOOKING that the location is actually 'XX location' not at a Bluegreen Tradewinds resort in St. Petersburg!

After the welcome center they told us to go back to the resort to pick up our promised gift card & it was about 2:30 in the afternoon & nobody there.... That staff left for the day!! So we had to come back to get it & we asked the woman at the Bluegreen Tradewinds vacation kiosk if we can come back to hang out for the day & the answer was YES! Every time we asked that question it was a YES! 3 different Bluegreen tradewinds reps said YES OF COURSE! We got a 3 day parking pass to use at Bluegreen Tradewinds St. Petersburg so we didn't have to pay for parking while we were there, so fine we move past that & go to check in our hotel in Madeira Beach (Cambria) which in not directly on the beach I might add....But they don't tell you that either!

So on day 2 we went back to use the amenities that were offered at booking on their website & the parking pass to just be told that that is not allowed! That the amenities are for guests only! And of course we get looked at like we have 3 heads as if we're making it all up & the feeling of not being welcome was permeated everywhere we were! Customer Service was zero help. Just was told he was sorry for the miscommunication, there was no miscommunication or misunderstanding. What there was was a whole lot of was deceivement! False advertising & mis-leading!

What was the purpose of the 3 day parking pass??!! Makes no sense!!! 'Yes here is a 3 day parking pass for you to come & park in our lot & just sit in your car & not come in to use amenities even though you were told you could by 3 people the day before & it was IMPLIED you could but because you're not members enjoy your car in our parking lot." I mean seriously in a nut shell this is as accurate as can be!! BEWARE & don't get sucked in like we did! Erica R.

Bluegreen customer service is garbage and the entire thing is sketchy. Received a call stating to check-in at a different location because of emergency evacuation, when I was an hour away from the destination of our 12 hour drive. They gave me an address and said they would send a confirmation email. Never received the email. Also was told to contact my rep to let them know time of arrival and I also wanted her to confirm the phone call I received was legit because we were not comfortable with it. The rep did not answer, the second number I was given did not answer and when calling back the number from the lady that told me to check-in elsewhere, it was busy.

I Emailed my rep, who then sent an Email back an hour later with nothing helpful whatsoever. I called and Emailed once again and NEVER heard back from her. Being that we were already at our destination, we had to book a room at a different location on our dime. I never received anything back from anything at Bluegreen after contacting multiple people over and over. This seemed very shady and we were not comfortable with the situation. Save your money and do not waste your time with Bluegreen.

Bluegreen, you should be ashamed of your business practices! Continuing to lure people in with free weekend vacations and then laying on non-stop pressure to force people to buy a useless timeshare! This is exactly what happened to me in 2018 and I have regretted taking that vacation ever since. What I bought is nothing like what was described to me. There is no exclusivity. In fact, it is quite the opposite. It is easier to book as a non-member, probably so they can trick those people to buy too! I was told I was making a real estate purchase that would help my credit which I have seen no improvement to.

Oddly enough, I don’t have any property! I can’t even book whatever it is that I own because they never have availability at my “property” or anywhere else. I can’t book the cruise we were promised either. After paying for 4 years, I’ve gotten nothing out of my relationship with Bluegreen and have not been able to even book one relaxing vacation with my timeshare.

Again I was never able to book the places I wanted. This is a rich person's scam to take advantage of others. Do not waste time or money on this company. July 2021, we took our free vacation and attended the sales presentation. The sales staff described to us all the bogus benefits and advantages to owning a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations. They even told us we were making an investment for our entire family. They also said we would have exclusive and private use of the resort and save a lot of money of future vacations. Reluctantly we chose the minimum points to try out. BIG MISTAKE.

After we returned home Bluegreen’s sales staff would not stop calling us to upgrade our points. They explained to us that if we did not upgrade our original points we purchased, we would lose the original points value… HOW COULD THAT BE, WE JUST PURCHASED!!! The resort was nice, I liked being off the strip, and worth way more than the 300 I paid. My presentation was low pressure and was just a hair over 2h but basically as promised. Some people stayed behind longer to buy I guess but I left with all the info I need to consider it later. I think it’s a great product but It just wasn’t for me to purchase into at this time. I had a great sales person who definitely was persistent but that’s just sales and it was not in a rude way. I walked in KNOWING they would try to sell me something so I’m not mad that they attempted to.

When I got home I went back to the Cabela’s to see if they were hiring even because sure while I’m not a customer of the product yet, I definitely believe in it and like how they went about it. It’s safe to assume every sales location and every sales person is going to be slightly different. I expected Vegas to be much more aggressive but they even said "we know not even half of you may buy from us, we just want you to give us a open ear and a opportunity", so I gave them that and left satisfied. I guess just take everything with a grain of salt and remember for every bad review on here are 100 decent ones that never got posted and probably at-least 10 amazing ones that again, never got talked about.

They also lied about and glossed over many things we were signing for in the contract. DO they expect the average person to take time out of their vacation to read a contract, let alone know all the legal jargon used in it???

They should be able to read the contract to their clients clearly and truthfully, especially when it comes to the extremely high fees lasting your whole life. We should know what we’re getting ourselves into. When I was signing the contract, they had me sign off on a fill-in-the-blank question. They said they would fill this out afterwards. I realized it was asking if they verbally made commitments or promises, which they did. They put “none”. The whole sales pitch was filled with verbal promises. Scam, scam, scam!!! While shopping at Cabelas, we were approached by a representative from Bluegreen Vacations with a deal for a “timeshare preview package.” We were offered a $250 4-day/3-night vacation in Pigeon Forge, TN with standard hotel room accommodations at County Cascades for 4 people, which also included a $50 Cabelas gift card and $200 entertainment gift card to be used at our vacation destination, as long as we attended a 2-hour timeshare presentation.

We explained that we have a family of 5 (which includes 3 teenagers), but were assured that we could upgrade to larger accommodations, so we bought the package and I called Bluegreen the next day and upgraded us to a 2 bedroom deluxe cabin at Eagles Ridge Resort, which cost an additional $860. On the day of our arrival, we were about 2 hours away from the check-in location, but 4 hours early, so I called Bluegreen to ask if we could check in early. They provided me with a phone number to what I assumed would be Eagles Ridge, but was shocked when it turned out to be Country Cascades.

As it turned out, the Bluegreen representative who “booked” my vacation waited almost a week before submitting my request and there was “no availability” at Eagles Ridge by that point, so they took it upon themselves to downgrade us to Country Cascades in a standard hotel room with 2 double beds and a sleeper sofa without ever contacting me to ask if that would be okay, which it most certainly was NOT. We were livid and I demanded to know what made them think it was acceptable to change our reservation without my approval, especially considering we had paid over $800 to upgrade and needed the extra room that the cabin provided. Instead, they expected us to be okay with being crammed into a tiny hotel room like sardines in a can for a week, while still KEEPING the extra money we had paid! They tried giving me every excuse in the book, but I was not having it.

I demanded a full refund, including the original $250 that we had paid, which they eventually agreed to. I called Eagles Ridge directly and was surprised to find out that they had an even nicer, bigger cabin available, so I booked it immediately for $740, which was $370 CHEAPER than what we would have paid through Bluegreen Vacations, AND we didn’t need to sit through a pressure filled timeshare sales presentation (which I’ve read plenty of horror stories about since getting home).

Thankfully our vacation wasn’t ruined, but it would have been if Bluegreen Vacations had gotten away with their bait and switch scam. Do yourselves a favor and stay FAR AWAY from the Bluegreen Vacation representatives at Cabelas (or Bass Pro Shops, depending on where you live). They should be ashamed of themselves for partnering with such a shady company. Side note, Eagles Ridge is only a “contracted partner resort” with Bluegreen Vacations, they are not owned by them, and Bluegreen only reserves a handful of cabins with them, so I don’t consider this any fault of Eagles Ridge. They were an excellent resort and worked hard to salvage our vacation for us. We would definitely stay there again, we’d just book directly through them.

We unfortunately signed the contract with his trap of a timeshare. We were told there was some sort of buyback program if things don’t work out. This was a lie. Their buy back program consists of selling the membership but not the points, meaning we would still have to pay. Maintenance fees was another issue we ran into. We were told our maintenance fees would not increase, but they did.

If the contract was read to us correctly, we would not be in this situation. The signing process was fast and hard to understand. The lady read over each page super-fast and only highlighted the main points from each page not going over any details. We were approached in Cabela's about a cheap vacation. The only catch was that we had to sit through a two hour timeshare presentation on one of the days. We chose Orlando and arrived at 8:40 for a 9:00am presentation. I wanted to get it out of the way early and go have lunch because I'm diabetic. We were still there almost six hours later. We said no multiple times. They wouldn't take no for an answer. We finally agreed to buy a 2 year package for $2995.00 but they kept coming back with more paperwork for $30,000 or $16,000 or $13,000. We kept saying no. They wouldn't let us leave.

We finally agreed to the $13,000 plan and gave them a credit card so we could leave. I am diabetic and my blood sugar was dropping fast. I had turned white and was clammy all over. We informed them of this. They STILL kept coming back trying to make us buy the $30,000 plan instead. Some woman finally came up and tried to book us for a learning presentation and then demanded we pay her $49.00 for a tutorial booking fee. That was the final straw. I couldn't believe the nerve.

We demanded our card back, said we were backing out, and wanted to leave. They STILL kept coming at us until I nearly collapsed from my blood sugar. I had to go outside to vomit due to that issue and they FINALLY gave us our card and let us leave. Do not fall for this. It will NOT be two hours. They won't let you say no. They won't let you leave. They'll bring a ton of people at you to spout numbers and pull up better "plans" for you and you will be kept there until they break you down. It took my blood sugar dropping to dangerous levels for them to allow us to leave. I wound up so sick it was crazy. They tell you two hours, which would have been fine, then six hours later they're still forcing their crap on you. SIX LONG HOURS for nothing.

I've never in my life experienced anything like it. I was blown away by how they treated us. It was revolting to waste valuable time that way by telling you one thing and doing another. If they promise two hours... it should be two hours. Some people, like me, have medical issues. And to then come up and demand $49.00 more for a tutorial trip was the straw that broke the camel's back. They penny and dime you to death at this place. They kept sending some guy from Aruba out to tell us he was going to talk to his boss for a special deal for us since he liked us and liked our 'dream vacation' goals. He'd come back with one package, we'd say no, he'd rush back to his boss because he 'cared for us so much' and then come back with other offers.

No matter how often we said no... it didn't matter. Even when I explained my medical issues and showed them my Insulin and needles... they kept going and going and going. It was a nightmare. I regret going to this place at all. All they want is money and to herd you around like cattle from one place to another until they break you down by keeping you there. It was sickening.

I should have known better than to have signed a contract with Bluegreen, as it seemed shady from the start, including the behaviors of the "sales team" personnel, the presentation, which lasted a good deal longer than advertised, and the sales agent himself, who after applying for a Bluegreen credit card from Barkley's Bank, was acting quite suspiciously it seemed. However, I did sign a contract for 16,200.00 for part ownership of a timeshare, which I intended to pay in full, once I returned home. The sales agent convinced me it was a "good deal."

After contacting one of their customer service agents, who I thought acted suspiciously, and then reading several reviews of Bluegreen on this website and others, I decided to terminate the contract and followed the protocol stipulated by South Carolina and Bluegreen on February 25th, well within the 5 day contract termination period.

I sent via return receipt certified mail my letter of notice of termination for my contract on February 25th and have kept a copy of that letter, and followed up with phone calls to their customer service representatives during the following weeks. At least 2 of their representatives initially verified the contract termination letter and assured me that no mortgage payments would be charged. However, having spoke to one of their other managers, he told me they didn't have the letter and to send him copies of the return certified receipt, which I did taking photos from my cell phone to him directly via email. He also told me that I needed to send back all documents I had been given and obtained during the contract signing process, which I did and had brought them to the post office to do so.

I have been in contact with one of their customer service management representatives, Kimberly **, who has verified turn of those documents with a photo of them sent to me in an email. In an email, she verified that my contract had been terminated. However, I have been getting written letters from Bluegreen Vacations informing me that my mortgage account is delinquent and that I need to pay for past mortgage payments, which is incredible. They have notified to credit reporting agencies of delinquent credit. I have stayed in contact with Ms. ** including the letter they had sent most recently, who assured me 4 days ago that she would "look into this immediately and haven't heard back from her yet.

I sent her another email this morning asking where things stand. I had also been contacted by one of their collection department representatives on the telephone, Stacy ** who informed me to send her a copy of Ms. **'s email as verification of cancelation of my contract, which I did. I followed up and an email back to Ms. ** requesting the status of my last correspondence with her, but her email address was no longer valid, according to notification from my gmail email account.

I had also sent a letter to their "mortgage research department," which included a copy of the February 25th notice of termination letter, a copy of the return receipt verifying they had received that letter, and a copy of Ms. **'s email verifying termination of my contract, on May 4th, 4 days ago. That was after receiving their last notice. That letter stipulated I had 30 days to respond to my "delinquent mortgage account," yet this morning I was alerted to reported delinquencies to the credit reporting agencies from Bluegreen Vacations Corporation. I called their corporate office this morning and left a message about this. I had tried several times in the past to contact their corporate office in Boca Raton, but their message machine informed me that they were out of the office because of CoVid-19. I certainly would have preferred never to have been involved nor introduced to Bluegreen Vacations timeshares.

CROOKS, there’s not better word to describe Bluegreen Vacations! Their timeshare sale staff manipulated me and my husband into spending an outrageous amount of money on their worthless timeshare. They scammed us into this purchase, telling us how amazing their product is! What we’ve come to learn is that Bluegreen timeshares are inherently worthless, and are a scam used to drain customers of their hard-earned money. We fell for their sales ploy because they told us that the timeshare “would pay for itself as we would be able to rent out the property”, WHICH WAS A LIE!!

Our scheming salesperson told us we had to decide right on the spot or else the offer would never be available again. Of course, we didn’t want to miss out on all the benefits we were pitched so unfortunately, we agreed to the purchase. Once we tried to make reservations, it was a whole different story as the amount of points they sold us doesn’t equate to the spacious accommodations we were shown at the presentation.

The guy who sold us this told us we wouldn't have to sit through a presentation and guess what. Two and a half hours long. We were told we could have up to six people in separate rooms and we got one bed and pull out sofa. When I called about upgrade when I realized this not what we wanted and it said $80 for it guess what. They conveniently didn't have one. After speaking to a manager ended paying $330 for 2 beds in same room and when checking out seen someone else only had to pay $89. The room is definitely not what the presentation shows and it was a lie after another lie. Don't do it.

Although the company told us we were purchasing a vacation in one of their "resorts" following purchase, while booking our stay we were informed that we really just booked our vacation in a regular motel, they then stated when we asked why we were NOT in the resort as we were previously told that we have to purchase an ADDITIONAL package to stay at their resort! Watch out for this company, they do NOT tell you what you are really purchasing until it is too late and you cannot get your money back!

Aggressive sales tactics, unable to book what you think you are paying into ie. lack of inventory. Sales portrays expansive choices but when it comes to booking it, not the case. Plus busy "red" blocks are year long. Our experience is that any dialogue to navigate this is met with "you need to buy more points to get reservation access sooner". Big red flag-nearly impossible to resell interest -good luck reaching corporate in Boca Raton to discuss sale back to developer (Bluegreen). My husband and I were lured in to purchases (and upgrades)-it is embarrassing that we gave in to sales pressure and really have nothing to show for it. Buyer beware.
