Our daughter-in-law did the talking for the girl that was with us, and she left out most of the important things that we needed to know, like extra hidden fees. We paid the first set of fees, then they sent us another statement for some more when I called about them I was told since we were new we had to pay extra fees. I told them that my husband was sick and we didn't have the money. They told me that they were going to foreclose on my timeshare, and we could not use it till the fees were paid, but they continued to take out money for the payment anyway. When I found out I stopped payment on it. I feel like that shouldn't go towards anyone's credit cause things happen beyond our control.

My husband purchased a package for us to go to Las Vegas and was told there were no blackout dates and all he had to do was book his reservations within 48 hours. Once he called to make reservations, they told him they had to confirm there would be someone available to give us a presentation. He was then told that he would be called back within 72 hours. 72 hours had passed and my husband called back. They continued to tell him they still have not confirmed the presentation and that we would hear from someone by the end of the week. My husband expressed that the end of the week was unacceptable because the prices of airline tickets were significantly increasing. The representative seemed to not care and said we could not get a refund because it was not 30 days from original purchase of our vacation package.
She then proceeded to explain that we booked on Halloween and that was what was causing the delay. After 35 minutes of talking she lied and said we were all booked in a hotel and it was not a hotel of our choice. We were given options and didn't even get to pick a hotel of our choice. My husband continued to talk with her and she then admitted that the presentation still was not confirmed, which means the reservation was not confirmed. Next, we were transferred to someone else who repeated what was previously stated, "you have a hotel booked but we need to confirm your reservations". Nothing was accomplished and we were told we would hear back from them within 48 hours. They provided this "deal" and portrayed to have exceptional customer service; however, when actually making reservations, they were horrible. I do not recommend this company to anyone!

I booked vacation through Bluegreen Vacations at a local event and was enthralled by the presenter. I booked immediately. He failed to give me a receipt which outlined the terms and agreements. Then, he forgot to mention the 2 hour time share meeting. When I called to cancel they refused to allow me to cancel. Upon talking to management and other customer service people they did not refund my money. I felt like this whole operation was a scam and I felt very taken advantage of.

Bluegreen continues to call after I told them I was not interested. The last time they called they tried to sidestep by telling me they are calling to find out why I didn't want my free trip. Told them that is not a good enough reason to step over me asking them not to call.

When they made us buy this ownership program, they told us that the points never going to expire and talked lots of benefits that you can earn. But you know what? Yes, you can keep your points as long as you pay money for keeping your points that you already bought and pay extra money on top of thousands dollars to not lose your benefits. It was a big mistake. I am still paying money that I OWE them (Even though my points are going to expire). Unless you have lots of money so that you can buy the most expensive deal they have (which probably you don't need to pay money to keep your points) or have tons of time to go to trip so you don't need to worry about losing your points, DO NOT PURCHASE it.

When checking in for prepaid vacation ($396) we were told there are no pet friendly accommodations, and we would have to leave our 14 year old dog in RV or board??? We asked if they would reimburse us for a RV park and were told they could not do this. When I inquired about a refund they explained that refunds only could occur within a 30 day window and our purchase was older. Evidence the company has no desire for customer satisfaction. Sad thing is we were interested in their properties.

Received a call that I won this sweepstakes. "Pete" was polite convicting, thorough in this explanation of details. Of course I'd never purchase anything over the phone so I told him I needed a number to return his call. He sent me over to a manager "Jose **" who asked me what I needed. I explained I don't purchase anything without first researching their company and would have to call back. He angrily told me that I was no longer eligible and my "free vacation" was going to the next customer and hung up. They called from a west palm beach number 561-565-8621. This is a scam. No legitimate company does this. Highly recommend hanging up if they call you or not answering this.

I got a call from an agent named "Rory" saying we had won a vacation package one for land and one for cruise. His pitch was very persuasive but at the end I asked the obvious question, "do you have a number we can call you back after we have a chance to discuss?" He then gave me over to his manager "Jeff" who then offered an extension to our vacation Stacy but then said we had to make up our minds during that phone call and then asked "how we would be paying"... ARE YOU KIDDING!!! So I definitely knew it was a scam at that point, put him on mute and then hung up the phone. Do not trust these people with your money.

We were mislead and instead of a learning seminar, they just sold us more points. Now we have sunk in over $15,000 in the first 12 months of ownership and have yet to be able to use a single point. We were not told that if we rolled our points over that we were then limited on when and where we could take those points. Nothing is ever available, even 13 months out, in any red areas. So unless we fly up north, there's nothing available. Basically, they've over-sold their product until there's NO availability except in the northern region. The whole selling point for our family was the "vast" resorts near us in the south that we could drive to. Instead, we've come out-of-pocket $3,500 to take our annual family vacation, because nothing was available.
So I wasted $15,000 over the course of the entire past 12 months. We were told we could use amenities at any Bluegreen resort. We were turned away with our owner ID cards when trying to use these amenities. What is the point of owning something I can't use? Now, I'm out $15,000 just in the 1st year and paid $3,500 for a place to stay for vacation on top of that. And there's still nothing available for next year, not even on RCI, 13 months out, which is supposed to be a special silver ownership perk. The one place our entire family vacations every single year! This is absurd. I've called and tried to get help many times, to no avail. This is the biggest scam I've ever seen. Oversold and can't be used.

We were ask to return to Harbour Lights in SC. after purchasing 5000 points to teach us how to use the BG website effectively. However it was a set-up for a hard sales, which I had asked if that was the case more than once, where we were sold 16,000 points at $1.30 per point ($20,800). I felt I had made a great deal! Made the down payment with a BG credit card & filled out the complete contract & went thru recording of the whole conversation. We left with all the gifts, never talking about the BG website, 2 weeks later BG called & want us to resign the contract, claimed they had charged too much interest on the balance. Ok we resigned the contract, 2 days later, the same thing. Ultra red flags went up, after comparing all 3 contracts, second was exactly the same, but the 3rd was reducing our points to 15,000. Long story short, we refused to sign. They paid our down payment back & voided our contract. Not over yet we will fight this out. Will keep advised!!!

I concur with what has been written by others. And it's worse than that. The next day we were in line at the post office to cancel out account with them. The clerk asked if we were mailing our cancellation of the timeshare, and said that was most of her business. Sure enough, as we were leaving someone heard us talking to the clerk and said that is what they were doing.

It like going to a casino. You have to be prepared to lose anything you put in. You might get a great vacation, OR like me all of the dates that I'm available to travel are already booked and the few dates that I could make work are so many points that I would be better off booking on AirBnB or VRBO. I bought a sampler package and figured I could get at least one vacation out of it in the 8 months given to use it. I attempted to book less than 1 week after my member info came in. ALL the dates at 2 of the 23 (or 26) possible resorts were fully booked with NO availability. Now I'm supposed to call in every day to see if availability changes. I wouldn't say these guys are crooks. But I would not buy a package with them if I could do it over.

This company was at a local event in Norfolk and acted like I won a 7 night resort stay and 7 day cruise from spinning the wheel. I asked where the cruises were to, but they said I'd find out at the meeting. I went up to the "90 minute" lecture and then was asked to come back the next day for being a little late from traffic. In compensation, they gave me an additional 2 night "free" stay at their resort, but this actually ends up having a processing fee of $18 a night. The speaker was very motivational, but manipulative and yelled at me during the lecture for not paying attention. He said they were paying $400 for me to be there and every other seat there costs $400. "I guess that's a great deal though considering I would be the customer spending a minimum of $8,500 for a timeshare". The cruise is a scam. It has a processing fee of $250 per person depending on the location, plus other fees.

My husband and I purchased a deal at Bass Pro in Memphis. We paid $199 for a 4 night 5-day stay. We received a $50 gift card and were told that with this package (instead of the 2 night $99) we would also get a certificate for a two for a cruise on Carnival. We booked our vacation within the 30 days to obtain another $50 Bass Pro gift card. We went to Branson in April 2016. We were put up in the Raddison. First night we had a group of kids, you were jumping on the floor (in the room above us) until midnight and started again at 6 am. I had called down to the front desk. No improvement. Came back to take a nap (3 pm) kids are still jumping and screaming. I called down to the front desk. They offer to move us. Now the rest of the trip is pleasant.
Our presentation was on Monday @ 8:30 am. This is supposed to be one hour. We have made plans to pick up my grandkids from school. Finally after relenting and buying the Sampler package at $795 we are free! Move forward to June 2016. We still haven't received anything in the mail with our number or how to book a trip. I get a call from the resort and they asked me why we haven't booked a trip yet. I tell the lady it is hard to do this when you don't have the information. She apologizes and offers us to come back for a two-night trip and they will help us set up our trips. We are scheduled for this weekend. It's already become a mess. I'm told we have to attend a presentation at 12:30 on Monday yet we have to check out of our room at 10 am. I argue this was not the agreement.
Finally after dealing with this guy who is reading a script and doesn't know how to respond to my sarcastic answers of, "Will you and your husband be traveling together?" NO, I thought we would drive separate vehicles. After looking at the cruise certificate, we have to go out of Florida or California. Really? After the fees of $200 per person that this travel agency adds on and, what for it, another time share sale. We figured our free cruise is going to cost us over $1000. We can take the train to New Orleans and cruise from there for less $1000. Please don't waste your money on this company. All they care about is getting your money. We can't even use the 9000 points we have because there is no availability between now and April 2017 when they expire unless we want to fly to Vegas. Been there done that. I want mountains. I guess we will just use them at Branson and go visit the grandkids.

So when going on one of their vacations, it actually went really well. Our stay was nice and there weren't any complications. We went to the presentation on the last day of our stay, we had went into it knowing we were not going to purchase. They put us in this tiny room w/ about 20-30 other people for a presentation. The guy who presented did a great job at making it sound like a deal and how wonderful it all was.
So needless to say we fell for it and decided to see how much it would cost us. We got approved for one of their smallest packages, the only problem was the down payment. They wanted 1500.00 within the next month. We have 2 small children and it would be super difficult to have that amount of money in 3 weeks. We told this to our sales guys and the guy handling the finances, he then got really pushy and and started to say things like, "well one or two tight financial months won't be that bad if you think about the long run w/ this vacation plan." That kind of threw me for a loop and I was ready to back out then, and we would have if it hadn't been for our sales guy.
We decided we could swing it and went on with the process. About half way through they finally told us we had no choice but to put down 300.00 that day. So we did because we could afford it. We continued on. And about another hour into working out this deal a lady comes up saying we have a mandatory orientation class for new owners to attend too. That was going to be a 49.00 booking fee to be paid that day. So we paid it because we figured we were already too far along and they promised we would receive that money back upon arrival.
When we finally made it to the finishing part, where everything just needed to be signed. The lady helping us (Carol **) said our package was completely different than what our salesman and the finance guy told us. I then started to have more doubts and wanted to back up. But we were already this far and we thought it was still worth it. We spent 8 hours there that day trying to wrap it all up.
When we finally returned home from Myrtle Beach, about a week later, we had some things happen to us and knew we could not afford this down payment. And after reading a bunch of reviews which I wish I had done before signing anything we called and canceled our contract. It wasn't too hard to cancel except for the fact that we couldn't receive our 300.00 down payment back?? But I just chalked it up to lessons learned and moved on. She did say we would receive our 49.00 booking fee for the mandatory new owner orientation we had already paid.
A week goes by and I still didn't have the refund. We called every single person who gave us their number for the next 2 weeks and all we got were voicemails. We then called the 1800 number and they transferred us 10 times with each person saying, "hold and let me get you to the "right" person" until we were transferred to another voicemail!! I honestly would have said forget the 49.00 but I wanted to make sure whatever booking fee was set up, that hotel wouldn't take money out of my account for not showing up. And if anyone had called me back they would have known that. But at this point I was pissed off.
We called the 1-800 number again and the gentleman wanted to transfer again! My husband who was speaking with him flipped, and told him we want our money back now and he was going to be the one to do it. So guess what? We finally got a refund. So my only question. If this guy was about to transfer us again to the "right" person, how was he able to do it? I mean come on, I wasn't born yesterday! I say don't do it. They make it seem like sunshine and rainbows when you are in the presentation but after that it's nothing but crap. Do not fall for it. We finally did the math on the down payment and monthly payments, plus maintenance fees and other fees they threw in. I'd rather just save my money and have no strings attached.

It's similar to buying a used car. When you say no they bring out the "boss" who pressures you even more into buying it. I stayed at the Tradewinds in St. Pete. Everything was ok until I attended the presentation. I was told that my significant other did not need to attend since we have different address on our driver licenses and he has his own residence. I attended the presentation as I was told to, then when I said to the VERY EXPENSIVE vacation package, they brought in the BOSS to tell me that I was not eligible because my significant other was not there and would not receive the $150 in vouchers and may possibly have to pay full price for hotel. No one has called me back after 2 visits I made back to that office. Don't waste your time unless you like high-pressure scams.

The original telephone promise of a "resort stay" was not true. When I asked why in a follow-up call, I was told "You should have read your paperwork." Over the course of more than a dozen telephone calls over several months, representatives consistently gave me information that directly contradicted previous representatives, depending on what excuse worked best at the time. The one customer service representative who made a good faith effort to assist no longer works there. All this BEFORE my scheduled travel. Do not, under any circumstance, do business with this deceptive company.

When Bluegreen solicited my interest they called me and sounded very attractive saying this was their 50th anniversary and that they were rolling out the red carpet for us to come hear their sales pitch. We would be set up and ask who would I bringing. I stated my fiance and his 16 yr old 6'7-in son. I was never informed that I would be staying in hotel accommodation. I have a double bed at the Clarion in Myrtle Beach, SC. These are not the accommodations I thought to have. I thought we were staying in one of the Bluegreen Resorts. Had I known it was regular sub-part hotel stay I would have never drove 7 hrs from MD, took vacation time, rented a car...etc to come here.
I never stay in double bed size rooms for my family. Both men are 6'7 tall. I was on the phone for over an hour with all these different level floor sup and no one was willing or could not change my accommodations. Not asking for a suite but when I was asked who I was bringing I certainly advised that I had a very tall 16-yr old. They can't fit in double beds but I'm stuck here from driving 7 hrs. Taking vacation time and you want us to sign on the dotted line for what??? Your Customer Service is just like this hotel...nothing I would sign up for. Not looking for a suite by any means. Bit nothing was done to save me.
I'm feel bamboozled and wasted my time...and money and no one seems to care. Then when you have to speak with a sup and transferred several times...this Tabitha person was clearly irritated to assist. Made it clear there is nothing I can do and had attitude with it. I hate that I'm stuck here. I asked the last manager for a general manager...vice president of this place and she emails me her sup, who is probably another floor sup. I need to make it known I feel awful, that was suckered into this. Should've stayed home. I can afford my own accommodations when I travel and never would've agreed to stay here. Most importantly feel bad for my soon-to-be-stepson that has to sleep very uncomfortable and he was only visiting from Florida. And it's all my fault that I let my guard down for BLUEGREEN Misrepresentations vacation. Wow!!!

I love my Bluegreen points but I got them in a different way and I'll explain in a moment. They work well for me because I never had a mortgage to pay on them so my outlay is way cheaper. I got suckered into buying Hilton at a presentation. That was a nightmare of epic proportions but it clued me in on what I wanted and didn't. I found out about the secondary market, where unhappy or financially unable owners either sell their points dirt cheap OR GIVE THEM AWAY FOR FREE. These markets are everywhere. If you want in and aren't sure, go secondary market points. No huge mortgage, and the m/f are usually paid for that year. The process is fairly simple too.
If you don't want your points find one of those places. Do not, under any circumstances, ever, pay someone to sell your points for you. TUG website allows free posts and people are usually happy to take the points and, in some cases, even pay the transfer fees to get it out of your name and into theirs. But your maintenance fees must be current all up until sign over date for this to happen. Again, NEVER pay a timeshare sales service to shed your points. They'll take your money and you'll still be on the hook because after all the fees, none of which guarantee you will sell your points, you will likely still have them.
That being said--there's a lot of things I couldn't do with my free--or almost free-- secondary market points. I could not use them for cruises and so forth or earn benefits. I couldn't combine them into one fee. (Beware buying or taking for free multiple secondary point packages because you have to pay the $350 or so base fee for every account!) I bought a small package retail from BG in order to use those services and the money I saved by combining all my secondary accounts and cutting out those base fees (I had 10 secondary accounts, you do the math) paid for the retail points I paid for.
Bluegreen is notoriously hard to get into, at least many of the 'top drawer' resorts are anyway. I admit that. I have not, in 8 years, ever been able to get into Gulf Shores or New Orleans. Ever. There's limited availability all the way around in the summer too. It takes planning. The minute we get our points we rush in there and hook and jab for what we want. It isn't the best way, no, but that is how it is with all timeshares to be honest.
Bluegreen itself is a mixed bag. Some co, owned and affiliate resorts are wonderful, others should not even be on the list because they are basically two star hotels with mini kitchens. The customer service has always been good for and to us but our daughter has had her share of issues with them. Big issues that ended with her threatening to sue at least once. (And yes her points are secondary market too. She's an accountant.)
All in all I will say that IF you get your points on the secondary market and in a location (Each deed is written on a specific location) where the fees are lower (Like Orlando is seriously high fees but Myrtle beach is surprisingly cheaper) you could and will come out being able to take vacations cheaper than you could pay for them in cash. But again, that takes being willing to get in there 11 months out and plan it. It won't work for everyone. I have friends who hate theirs. It works for us.

I called Choice Hotels call center to cancel a booking (which they did with no problems) and was pushed to listen to a special offer they had going on. I decided to listen to it and was told they were promoting a new brand called Ascend Hotels. This lady named Kristie ** told me their intention was to make people familiar with the new flag and offered a deal in which I prepay for 3 hotel nights and would get a gift card back once I check-in, making the stay incredibly cheap, a very sweet deal. She told me about the multiple destinations available and I indicated from those I was interested in Myrtle Beach. She told me about the Sea Glass Tower hotel and all its great features. She also told me that I should book my vacation within 1 year, but said if I needed to extend that for a few months later I could call them up to reschedule. She said I'd have to attend a presentation on the hotel, which I was fine with. That was in November 2015.
I get home and tell my wife about the deal, and she get's all excited when she finds out we have friends who own a condo just block away from the Sea Glass Tower. Fast-forward to June 2016. I decide on a date and call them up to book. I'm then informed that they will send me info on which hotel I'll be placed at... What??? Of course, it is NOT the SeaGlass Tower, this has NOTHING TO DO with promoting the Ascend brand, and the presentation I have to attend is a time-share sales presentation.
I'm furious, obviously feeling deliberately fooled. I call customer service, explain my issue and ask them to play the recorded conversation when they sold me this package. The rep says he will listen to the recording and call me back but won't play it for me. He says there are no spots at the Sea Glass Tower anyhow, there is just nothing they can do. Won't refund me either, since the refunding period was 30 days from purchase.
Honestly, I'd rather kiss good-bye to the couple hundred dollars I wasted on this ** scam rather than ruining my vacation time by spending more money to travel all the way to the Carolinas and be even more irritated by the surprises this company might throw on me. I'm still waiting for a resolution for my complaint but honestly, I have ZERO faith in their intentions to deliver what they sold me. This is just disgusting and from now on I don't ever again want any business with Bluegreen AND/OR Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn, Quality, Clarion).

If you hate someone very much give them this package deal. Whatever you do… don’t do it for someone you love and this is why… On Saturday, July 16, 2016 we arrived at the welcoming center 11701 International Drive Suite 500 Orchid Bay Plaza Orlando, FL 32821. We came in and waited at lease three to four minutes before someone address us. At that particular time we were the only customers in the center and there were three customer service representatives, one ** and two Hispanic.
The customer service name ** called us and she made us feel as if we were bothering her. She called us and immediately she started talking with her co-worker about sending reports for the next day and being negative one. We had no clue as to what was going on. This conversation happen while we were literally in front of her. Her demeanor and attitude was dry and rude from the beginning. She then asked my husband with a straight face if I spoke English. I looked at my husband and then smile. She once again addresses him and completely ignore me and said with a very rude tone of voice. "If she doesn’t speak English you will be responsible for the fees…"
After that I just smiled and was ready to let go of her condescending comments and rudeness. She then added that the tour was going to be for Monday the 18 at 11 AM. I told her that we were contacted on two different occasions and were told that the tour was on Sunday the 17. We were celebrating our 19 year anniversary which was the reason why we book this vacation in the first place. If we would had even imagine that the tour was going to be on the day of our anniversary, we would have never sign up for this trip and done something different. We explain to her that there was no way we were going to spend time on our anniversary day on this tour. At the end, we realized that we were getting nowhere and decided to ask for management. She gave us the name of her supervisor and said that her supervisor was not even in the store. We ended up calling Bluegreen customer service.
We needed to change the date of the tour. At calling customer service we spoke with Zack. He said that he was going to try to change the date of the tour for Tuesday the 19; he even reach out to his supervisor and nothing was done! My husband and I are very proficient in two different language Spanish and English. We had two more days that they could pick from and yet they couldn't work with us. This company does not know what the right and left hand is doing. They ruin our anniversary 19 year anniversary weekend!! I will never, ever, never want anything to do with this company and everyone we know we’ll make sure to let them know. They don’t want to refund us the money we spent. This is highway robbery, bad customer service and a ripoff.

My husband and I purchased a vacation from Bass Pro Shops to visit the Blue Green property in Savannah Ga. Needless to say the first mistake was purchasing a vacation from a sporting good store. Our visit to Ga was a nice one. We attended the timeshare presentation. The salesman convinced us to purchase a vacation with them saying we can vacation anywhere, anytime. After months of withdrawing money from my account I received a notice that our mortgage had been cancelled. I immediately called the company in Florida. After several minutes on hold and many dead end conversations. I was told that I needed to pay the last payment which was a little less than the original installments. (I was never told that it would not be automatically withdrawn like all the others).
The gentleman Andy from the corporate office said, "this can be fixed if the payment is made". I am not giving them any more money!!! Our vacation was to take our oldest grandson to Orlando Fl. He was excited about the idea but, it will not be through these people. I have read too many horror stories to go anywhere. I will just chalk it up as a learning experience. We had the worst time trying to book in our dates, they booked us for a trashy hotel, next day we had to go for a meeting that we obviously didn't want to go on our vacay. 8am we arrived and were told that we were unable to get the tour and\or benefits because me and my bf did not have the same address on our driver's licenses, although we brought proof of living together (phone, insurance bills) I requested to talk to the manager, she was a lazy woman sitting on the corner 2 feet away from us, but she refused to talk to us. What kind of management is that? The Bluegreen lady "helping" us, gave us a 1800 number to call, but we had to wait until 10 for them to open because it was Saturday.
At 10 we called and the customer service representative said that he did not know what to do and I had to call back in an hour to speak to a supervisor. We were at the hotel and we check out before we had to pay for another night at this awful roach house. We called back at 11 and the supervisor called Amanda was so rude, she said that she was not refunding us our money and that we were liars because we said that we lived together but obviously we did not have any evidence to support it, that moment I was already so mad that I screamed at her and she screamed back. She offered me to stay on that nasty hotel BUT I had to pay for my stay. What a deal?!
A week has gone by and I haven't received a thing from them. I bought my vacation plan at Ellenton outlet FL. They did not tell us any of this, we did not agree or sign up for this crap, they sell you a fictitious product and it truly is sad that we let scams like this happened nowadays. Truly disappointing and disgusted. Hard working people deserve to enjoy every second of their time off. Hopefully the run out of business or get sued for fraud!

I wish to capture the worst vacation experience of my life. Let me start by describing the expectation my family and friends accompanying us had, so as to show you just how short this vacation fell. Every year we look forward to getting out into nature and exploring the National Parks around America. We appreciate accommodations that have spacious views, relaxing environment, resort amenities, grills, fire pits, pools, etc. We also like being close enough to an area where we can spend a day or two in town shopping and dining on local fair. This year we decided that we have not seen the Smokey Mountains and have heard so many great things about them. Not knowing anything about the park nor the local towns we started to research and uncovered there are two nice areas outside of the Smokey Mountain National Park, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in Tennessee.
We booked accommodations more than 6 months in advance with the Laurel Crest Bluegreen Resort. They indicated there were two outdoor pools and one indoor pool, patio, as well as mountain and wooded views. They claimed to have several available grills for your outdoor barbecuing needs. Full kitchen amenities and adjoining villas will allow two families to share easy access with resort living accommodations. We arrived at the resort on July 2nd after fighting through an hour's worth of bumper to bumper traffic through Pigeon Forge. Bombarded with the most gaudy tourist attractions you can imagine it reminded me of a Branson Missouri all you can eat buffet food trough tourist trap. Although the surrounding area was a traumatic letdown we remained hopeful that the National Park would be relaxing and we can unwind at the resort.
We checked into our villa and were again greatly disappointed as we were actually up on the third floor of an outdoor accessible motel complex. Out on the patio which barely fit two chairs, we observed, at ground level, a farm of central air fan systems that counted in the dozens blowing up hot air at us and making loud noise. The view was absolutely disappointing, as it was perhaps a single row of trees attempting to block off the road, and there were no mountains in view at all. Looking nearly straight down and off to the right was a concrete enclosed area adjacent to the central air units which had a gazebo and a gas grill with a large fence next to it. Absolutely makeshift and sandwiched in to the concrete jungle as close to the building as fire code would allow.
That evening we discovered exactly how paper thin the walls were, as we heard every conversation of our neighbors above, beside, and beneath us. My friend and his wife literally heard the snoring of the room next door all night. My wife and I heard a baby crying for a good long hour starting around 1 am in the villa above us. The next morning our complex was awoken to the fire alarm going off and remaining on for a good 30 minutes while the Pigeon Forge Fire Department meandered to the scene. The entire complex was evacuated. Turned out the Elevator's sensor was in disrepair which triggered the alarm.
We went to the front desk to inquire about the surrounding area, and one of the ladies at the counter sat stoically and said "Well, you can go tubing" while she sat there with a smirk on her face. Fortunately the other lady was more informative, but it helps paint the scene. After cleaning up and making a cup of coffee, we were ready to hit the road and explore the Smokey Mountain National Park. We plotted our way into the park seeing the City Bypass routes and proceeded to make our way to the Park's Visitor's Center. This is where we realized there was no hope. The entire trip inside the park was bumper to bumper and we crawled our way for an hour to arrive at the Visitor's Center which was completely congested with cars waiting for someone to leave. The traffic was so bad cars couldn't even back out of their spots because the way into and out of the lot was bumper to bumper.
We walked around the grounds taking a short 2 mile hike then left. It took another 30 minutes to leave the Visitor's Center. This time we realized there was no way we were going to be able to make it to any of the park's attractions this day and decided to head into Gatlinburg for lunch. Nearly 100 degrees and extremely overcrowded we had a hard time finding parking. We managed to find a place to eat and it was disappointing. That night I knew we were leaving as soon as possible.
The only enjoyable time we had was when we went up to Knoxville to avoid the tourist traps, and we went to the Nature Realm where we sat under a covered bridge while it rained all around us. We felt relaxed as there was no one around most likely due to the rain. We had a wonderful dinner at a seafood restaurant called Chesapeake's and then fought our way back to the villa. We left the next morning and didn't look back. After the 11 hour drive home, I reconciled spending the rest of the time at home is much better than spending a day in that chaos. I would strongly encourage people to avoid that place if at all possible. This was extremely stressful. Disappointed Traveler.

We were about to go on our yearly vacation when we stumbled into Bluegreen vacations at our local Walmart. We paid 149.00 for a 4 day 3 night stay at the fountains in Orlando, Fl. We got back 50.00 on a Mastercard gift card right away. We booked 3 days later which gave us another 25.00 back + another 50.00 when we would arrive to the resort. This means our 4 day 3 night vacation would only cost us 24.00 not a bad deal right? In addition to that we were given 2 tickets to Universal.Studios, but since we are a family of 4 we had to purchase 2 additional tickets.
Well, the 2 additional tickets were quoted at 500.00+. We did not buy them at the resort. We paid 300.00 at the Orlando Tourism center. Upon checking in the personnel were very uninterested and almost rude. They sent us over to an unattended 14 storey building on the property. The pool did not even offer towels, no staff onsite, you were on your own. We got to our room on the 10th floor, which looked very run down. 1st bad sign. Furnitures looked as if they were bought at a thrift shop or flea market.
We had 2 queen beds. My daughters (7 and 15) had one, me and my wife the other. When we were about to go to bed my wife lied down and I sat in the other side. She moved towards the middle of the bed and I ended up on the floor in the corner. We thought we had broken the bed but when we looked under we realized one foot was missing. 2nd bad sign.
We went to the presentation the following day and showed a new 2 bedroom unit. Very nice. I asked if we bought if it would be in the same building and was told "maybe". 3rd bad sign. 3 strikes = out. We were given 3 options to buy points, 20,000 for $30,000. 20,000 split in 2 years for $28,000. And 10,000 for $12,500. We said no to the sales person, no to the sales manager and no to the closer who offered us 9,000 points for $795.00 for 1 year to think about buying into the program. According to.them if we decided not to buy within that year we would be refunded the $795.00 which we did not believe.
Why we changed our mind after going with intentions to buy? We told the manager about how I fell the previous night and he totally ignored us and did not even acknowledged the incident. That's when we realized that maintenance might be very poor. I googled this company and just read about all the nightmares other people had, so thanks to the manager's indifference with my fall I am fortunate we did not buy. But in reality who made up my mind was my wife who was furious that they did not seem to take my fall seriously and she was the one who kept saying NO to every offer. DON'T BUY!!!

My husband and I were lured into this trap and it's been a nightmare - and we are only 1.5 years into our membership! We signed up for a giveaway somewhere that was sponsored by Bluegreen so of course, we got that phone call later on saying we "won" a free trip to one of their resorts in FL. At the time, we were engaged so we figured, "hey why not, let's get away." It was nice and we were impressed with the Fountains resort in Orlando. Well we sat through the hellish presentation and then were herded into the room where they pressure you into buying. And pressure is not the right word. It was more like torture. We were there for literally 4-5 hours. Everything they showed us seemed too good to be true and we kept saying no, we could not afford it. We were planning a wedding and that came first monetarily.
Well, after getting the "top" boss involved, they came back with an offer that we could actually afford (at the time). The way they talked it up just made it seem more practical than trying to save up for and book a vacation every year. We can go to all these "top-notch" resorts "anytime" we wanted. What BS. We wound up walking away with 2 mortgages and a 13,000 point/yearly membership.
A few months into it, we received a letter in the mail saying our one mortgage was sold off to another company - Resort Funding. There was never any mention that our loans would be passed around like that. And I have NEVER gotten any communication at all from Resort Funding about our account. I don't even know my loan/account number! I tried to find some info online and was not successful. I have yet to call them to try to get something - I think they run on normal business hours and I cannot create a scene while at work. All I know is that they obviously continue to take their portion out of my bank account every month.
We tried months ahead of time to book our honeymoon to their resort in Key West, FL. We wanted somewhere warm and within driving distance for us. There was nothing, and I mean nothing, for a whole year. I looked at other resorts, same deal or else the reviews of the resorts were horrible. We had to pay out of pocket for our honeymoon while we were still paying Bluegreen for points we couldn't use.
Since then, a lot has happened to us. We have had numerous costly home repairs that we have had to do, our father-in-law passed away and we helped to pay for some of the costs, my Type 1 Diabetes is now being controlled by other medications and an insulin pump that is not by any means cheap. Life just got in the way and handed us one thing after another. So now that $350-ish/monthly is an absolute burden. Never mind the maintenance fees! We were told they were cheap, maybe $600-$800 and we could pay it off over the course of a year. Well guess what, total lie. Last fees we had to pay were about $1300 and we were only given 3 months to pay them off. And we got the letter in the mail a week before they were due. A WEEK to come up with an extra $1300?
I contacted Bluegreen, told them our situation, and we were pointed to Pinnacle to sell our mortgages. I looked into it and am more disgusted than I am with Bluegreen. I emailed them to see about the process and got a generic email back saying to fill out the forms, list our points for the amount we still owe on the loan, and be happy if we get back 30-40% of what we have already paid. They also said they CANNOT guarantee they can sell it for us and it usually will take well more than a year and numerous price adjustments. I looked on their website and for the same amount of points we are trying to sell, there were 700+ individual listings of people trying to get rid of them. But the catch is, everyone needs a different amount of money to pay off their loans. Some listings were for $2000, some were for $20,000+. How are you supposed to sell when you have no chance when competing against those priced a fraction of what you NEED to get out of it?
Pinnacle also shows in very small print that in 2015, they only sold 27% of what they had listed. That's ridiculous. They also have the nerve to charge you $40/yearly to keep your listing on the website. So you have to pay for that, as well as paying your loan at the same time. This sounds like a total and complete scam, never mind entrapment. They tell you that Pinnacle is the only one authorized to see the memberships because they know how to "deal" with their point system and transitioning memberships over to the new owner. So they pretty much are telling you that you have to use that company, who is also failing at selling anything it appears. It appears that they are trying to force people into foreclosure. I'm more upset that I had even asked before we signed what happens if anything occurs where we cannot afford this anymore? With huge smiles and reassuring voices they said we could easily sell it with no issues.
We are trapped and I highly think someone, ANYONE needs to look into this company. It's based on lies, intimidation, and entrapment. It's all a scam. This was the worst mistake we have ever made and now we are forced to try to find an extra $350/month to pay to this company that doesn't allow you to use what you are paying for.

I bought a timeshare years ago. (Need I say more?) I don't understand how a country like ours can allow such predatory and unfair lending practices and fees. We've cracked down a bit on payday loans and credit card interest rates, but timeshare companies still get away with stealing millions from American citizens! Why isn't the federal government going after these corporations?
My story: In a high-pressure sales presentation in 2006, I was convinced to buy a timeshare from BlueGreen Corporation. They touted all the great places you could visit and suggested I take advantage of 8000 biennial points. I am embarrassed to say I took the bait like so many other uninformed people. I regretted the purchase within the first year, and have continued to regret it since.
These are the issues: 1) Booking: To get even a chance at visiting the resort you want, you have to book 11 months in advance. If you are biennial like me, this doesn't help though because half the points are for the current year and half are for the next calendar year. This means I have to pay $35-$50 fee to save my current points. However, once I save those points, I still won't get to use them until January when the new year begins. This means that I never get to stay at the resort I want. Instead I have to choose a resort that I have no interest in or that I have visited before rather than lose my points.
2) Maintenance Fees: I pay ~$600 in maintenance fees per year. That would be okay if I were getting $600 worth of services, but I am not. 3) Traveler's Plus/Other fees: To even make it remotely worth it to have BlueGreen, you can purchase Traveler's Plus and a transfer option for an additional $178 per year, so that you can take advantage of last minute trips or use other companies' timeshares. Unfortunately, the last minute trips are often to places like India or Greece, and I doubt very many people can purchase last-minute plane tickets to those places, so choices are extremely limited.
4) Estimated cost over 10 years: The timeshare itself costs ~$9000. However, with interest and fees, I have calculated that by the end of 10 years, I will have paid ~$17,000 for the loan + ~$6,000 in required fees. That's a total of $23,000. With that amount, I could have taken a vacation for $2,300 each year. I definitely did not get my money's worth.
5) Non-members can book rooms easier than members: I wanted to book a resort in October, and the Bluegreen Owner's website said that there was no availability. Then I went online and typed the name of the hotel on Google, and the hotel was available for those paying with cash/ credit card. Basically, I pay fees to stay at BlueGreen resorts, and they keep the fees, but sell the rooms to others.
6) No way out: Even with all the depressing stuff above, I could chalk it all up to stupidity and be done with it, but there is one last part that shouldn't be possible in our country. There is no way out!!! Even after I pay the mortgage off, I will still have the timeshare and be paying at least $600 per year in maintenance fees. Based on my research, I can't sell the timeshare because Bluegreen blocks companies from including the Bluegreen name or names of their resorts in the listing. Plus, why would I want to wish this on someone else?!? If I choose not to pay the fees, it will affect my credit, or I may even end up in a legal battle that I can't afford. Apparently, I can't even give the timeshare back to Bluegreen, so I will restate, "There is no way out!"

Worst experience ever. I have tried for 10 months to book a two-night stay at Christmas Village (two bedroom suite). Every time I try to book they tell me there is no availability. Finally they booked us in May for a two-night stay in Wisconsin Dells in July for 6 people at a Best Western. I called to confirm the stay today and they tell me that they can't accommodate for our family of 6. Two weeks before! They refuse to give me a refund and can't book us in any room that can accommodate 6 people by the time this expires in August. What a scam??? Also, Bass Pro should reconsider their choice to partner with this company.

So why they don't give us the money. People don't believe these guys, they lie. Attention USA government. catch this company and give us money back!!! Mad as hell. Paid for a 3-night 4-day stay in Myrtle Beach SC. After reviewing the resort online and seeing that it was under construction I asked to stay at another resort. Originally I was told that the resort was on the beach. After changing reservations I was told our hotel would be 1 1/2 blocks from beach. I was fine with that just happy to be at Myrtle Beach. After driving 12 hours to the hotel with my wife we found that this hotel was also under construction and we were 20 miles away from Myrtle Beach. After talking to the girl at the front desk I was informed there was a beach about 2 miles away but that it was not Myrtle Beach. Everything I was promised was a lie. When I asked for a refund I was denied and told I would have to pay the regular room rate if I left. Needless to say we left and drove 12 hours back home. Bluegreen getaways is a scam. They have my credit card information and are trying to charge over $800 to my card.

We booked our vacation for father's day weekend expecting a beach weekend because we were told we would be staying at the resort which I looked into and planned to utilize the amenities tailored for the resort. But our stay was not at the resort or on the beach it was 30 min away from the resort in a roach hotel! We tried to be optimistic but as soon as we get into the room we were greeted with roaches. Throughout the night something bit me on my lip causing it to swell, that morning we had the 2.5hr presentation then we had the 1 on 1 with the sales agent. She asked how are we and do we like the hotel they put us in? At that point I told her everything we've encountered during our stay, showed her my lip and I told her I want to switch hotels.
She called the manager over and told him everything and said he would look into what he can do. They gave us the tour of the resort and had the nerve to tell us if we were a Bluegreen member we wouldn't have had the issues we have with the hotel and proceeded to ask us for $6,500 down! I asked if they were changing our hotel? They said they couldn't because it's father's day weekend and all the hotels are booked. I asked why couldn't we stay in the resort like how they told us we would be? We were told we couldn't because those are saved for the members. I asked if we paid the required down payment would they then put us in a saved member room? I was still told no! Needless to say we left very unhappy and checked out of the roach motel!

I purchased a getaway to Vegas 5 days & 4 nights for $199.00 & was told I wouldn't have any more money going out. The agreement was I had to watch/listen to an 2 hr presentation. 1st I had to come to the resort & then from there I had to the hotel they actually put me at and although I was told they had a free shuttle bus that was a lie. They said the hotel will only hold up to $100 on my card for incidental. However when I checked in the hotel they held $244.80. Bluegreen said they didn't know the price had changed. They also claim that the representative that sold me this was not truthful in a lot of things he told us. We stayed at the LSL which is at the end of the strip not central location as we were told we were going to be 3-5 mins walking. However that was untrue as well, we are actually 40/45 mins walking distance from central strip.
It's June here & it's too hot to walk for such a long distance, so therefore we have been spending money to get around. There is no accommodations that come w/ the hotel. All in all we thought we were going to save money, however it is a lot of expenses they don't share and they don't tell the truth even when asked. I had 2/3 people all tell me all different information. All I will say is stay away from BlueGreen Resorts, they are very unprofessional & dishonest that is not someone you should trust your money to. I hope this helps someone so they won't have to go through the same experience I have had with them which was a lot of mess and they did absolutely nothing to try to rectify the situation. I had to rate them but they don't honestly deserve 1 star in my honest opinion.

We have been a BG member for a several years now. Signed up originally thru Bass Pro Shop, went to Branson for our spill. Very high pressured sales pitches, there for numerous hours discussing what was included/how much. We love to travel and felt this might accommodate our needs well. There are certainly many rules, still learning even after a few years.
We normally find ourselves banking points as we are limited when we can travel due to kids in school/vacation, etc. We have used them at Branson, AZ, VA and in Texas. All via RCI. So far we feel we are screwed because of not being able to use them, but my guess is that BG knows this. Just hoping in a few years, we will be more flexible with dates of travel and put our points to good use.
The places we have stayed have been far from plush accommodations, not bad, but more like 2 to 2.5 stars. I just wonder how much money we have wasted, when I think about the total we spent to buy in and the 1500 annual mx fees. I had looked into selling them a year or so ago, but was kind of told I was on my own. Where do you go to do this?
Bad situation, but goes back to the whole "Buyer beware," but trying to make the best of it. If you plan ahead, like way ahead, then you can get lucky and reserve a place you want. Takes lots of planning and calling to BG/RCI to get it all right. Again, hoping to return the favor of being screwed in a few years when my hubby and I can travel like no other; watch out BG, going to get my money's worth. :)

Let me start by saying that my wife and I bought into Bluegreen in 2007. We were vacationing in Branson, MO. We felt we were ready so we went in with positive attitudes. The salesman was very friendly - even captivating. We were told that a vacation club membership was an investment. We purchased 8000 points. Our maintenance fees were in the neighborhood of $600. They also gave us three "free" RCI getaway vacations. Long story short the free vacations cost nearly $250 each. We managed one points vacation a year with a smothering of leftover points. We were really kinda satisfied, but knew very soon the investment hype was a lie. You as owners have zero say in and no opinion on what is done with money.
I told Bluegreen officials that my preferred method of communication was by phone and not email. At that time we really didn't use it much at all. I reiterated this with Bluegreen many times. In 2010, Bluegreen came up with the point save policy. You lose points that you don't pay $50 to save. Bluegreen sent an email to all their members with a warning that they would lose their points. Due to inactivity my email was useless. I never got the email with their ominous warning. Remember I told them I wanted to be contacted by phone. They had no initial problems with this. Long story short the company deleted some 6000 points from our account in 2010. I only found out when I called to make reservations for a vacation. I was very upset.
The rep at Bluegreen did not care a whip and was quite rude. She intimated that it was my fault. She stated to me "Well we sent out emails." They don't seem to care about customer needs or desires. In 2014 we realized if we really wanted to be able to vacation we needed more points. We weren't extremely pleased with Bluegreen but we felt strapped in. We wanted 4000 more points. In a classic bait and switch maneuver the fast-talking sales rep sold us a package with 12,000 points. However, unbeknownst to us 6000 points are restricted. We were never told this. Restricted points can only be used during white weeks. There are very few of those. Generally it takes more than 6000 points to travel any other weeks. The points cannot be combined except for white weeks. Effectively we paid money to upgrade and lost 2000 points. Again I found this out several months later when I tried to make a reservation.
By the way, our maintenance fees have at this time gone up over $800. In this same upgrade sale we complained incessantly about maintenance fees. The sales rep assured us we would never have to worry about this again. He gave us his personal cell phone and said he would be assigned to us as our personal coach/adviser. He said we could make reservations and then post them on MyResortNetwork to resale. We said we would need help. He assured us he would be there for us. We got home and I soon contacted the sales rep. He seemed to be bothered by my inquiries. He made some recommendations for me which I followed to the letter. I made a reservation for World Golf Village in FL for December. He assured me it would sell easily and quickly. I initially listed a 2BR for $1,100 for one week. I waited a month - no sale. I lowered it to $700. Again no sale.
Finally after nearly 4 months, I lowered it to $500. It did not sale. Don't let Bluegreen deceive you with this lie. Most of these timeshares were selling at $200 to $400 a week. If we could sell our timeshare reservations there would be no way it would cover maintenance fees. Even if we did, we would have no points left to vacation ourselves. Bluegreen never stops trying though. A year later they attempted to upgrade us again. Even though they use predatory tactics, we were not going to go for it this time. We insisted on keeping to the 90-minute promised limit.
By the way, they took 6 hours the first time and over 4 the second time. They refuse generally to take no for an answer. Their procedure is to sit you down with an opening orientation. Then they will bring in a sales rep that we refer to as the closer. Even though you have said no he will continue to blather on about this being a "one time" only best offer. He will generally be very congenial. They might keep offering you packages all day. Stick to your guns and say no. The sales reps this time actually became annoyed with us. Probably because we used the time as a forum to complain about Bluegreen. The rep actually told us we would be able to sale our timeshare for the maintenance fees. That is maybe 10 percent of what we paid. We knew right then and there that they had bent us over. You see they know they are selling a money pit.
Don't buy in when they tell you that this will be a legacy for your children. Does anyone leave their children a huge debt as a legacy? It is now 2016 and maintenance fees continue to rise. We pay nearly $1,200 now. Bluegreen has the highest maintenance fees in the industry. Why? Let me tell you another story. One of these salesman actually tried to brag to us that they put big screen TVs in one of their resorts. We were actually pissed. If I wanted a big screen TV I would buy one myself. We don't go on vacation to sit on our duff and watch TV. Plain unadulterated misuse of funds. That's why maintenance fees go up all the time. Another thing about Bluegreen is that their exchange fees are nearly double many other vacation clubs. We pay $275 a pop to exchange.
Bluegreen will continue to try to blow smoke up their owners you know what. They have their webinar series now. I just watched one where they tried to justify their fees by saying it was upkeep etc. This is more lies. The top three vacation clubs in the industry only charge their owners two-thirds of what Bluegreen does. Their resort choices are as good or better than Bluegreen. They waste money. They aren't doing what owners want. They could care less. They don't like fielding or dealing with complaints. In fact they seem hardly capable. I recommend checking out Marriott, Starwood, or Holiday Inn vacation clubs if you really feel you need a timeshare. With the money we pay to Bluegreen each year, we could save and go on a 1-2 vacation just about anywhere we wanted. These resorts are not exclusive to members. Look at all the postings on MyResortNetwork.

We sat for 2.5 hours fighting with them, they would not give us our money back saying we were breaking the contract. Ok, so I think I paid about 100 for the package. You are basically paying for your hotel room that you will be visiting. First off we decided to visit St. Petersburg, The timeshare was looong, about 4 hours. The place they were displaying was not even renovated, they kept showing a "may be" pic. Then they offer you a free cruise. Bogus, IT IS NOT FREE!!! They say you only have port fees and taxes, which is a lie!!! He quoted me 800 dollars! LOL. These people are a joke and I will never deal with them again and I will be telling everyone I see at their booth to not give them a DIME.

I am contacting the Florida Attorney General regarding Bluegreen Corp. When I paid for my vacation in 2015 I was told that I could travel anywhere. Since then, I have been trying to book a vacation and each time I am told that the date is not available and that I could choose another location or another date. I explained that I was not told that when I purchase the vacation I would have to go where and when they told me. So I am unable to use the vacation to go when and where I want to go so I requested a refund because I tried but they could not accommodate me and they do not want to refund my money.

Classic bait and switch. First representative sells one thing and charges card before manager comes on and gives different terms. Tried to give this company a chance, but it seems like they want to deceive customers into paying, hoping they won't spend the time to dispute the charge. Representatives names were Josh ** and Kevin (last name?) (Manager) from Platinum Peaks Travel. I wouldn't trust anything that they tell you.

We bought the $150 preview package at Bass Pro Shop in Foxboro MA. Not an awful experience but not one we would do again. It was very unclear where we would be staying. We requested a 2 bedroom as we have a 3-year-old. Told it wasn't a problem and also picked a resort in Lincoln NH that had a restaurant for convenience. We were told to check in and we would be told where we were staying. When we bought it we were told it was all 5-star resorts. Well we walked into a 3. It was ok. However, severely outdated. A studio. And no restaurant in it. They couldn't provide a cot for our toddler so we all ended up sleeping in the only full-size bed in the room. We were told it was a 2-hour presentation. It was 4 hours. Our daughter was hungry and annoyed sitting there.
The people were nice and all. However they need to get their stuff together to get role to buy in more. It was expensive. Didn't show you how much things were with their points. Plus why have us stay at in a outdated studio then try to have us buy a beautiful 2 bedroom timeshare we aren't even staying in? It all seemed a little fishy.

We bought into Bluegreen 4 years ago at the Branson Wilderness Club Resort. They dazzled us with their speech and promises and shamed us for our lack of family vacations. Before this, we only went on vacation once a month for a couple days. They said that if it didn't work, down the road, we wouldn't have any issues selling as they are in such high demand. The guy helping us even said they could help. They also went over converting to hotel points leaving out all the important details, which I will talk about later. They said that they were constantly expanding and buying resorts in new areas. What they didn't explain was that they sold us points that were linked to Wisconsin... We live in Kansas and normally 3 day stints... 4 days tops... are as long as we can be away because of obligations. We were under the impression that our points were linked to The Wilderness Club.
We enjoyed our initial stay at the Wilderness Club. We then stayed a few months later at the Thousand Hills in Branson with the children for 2 nights and also enjoyed that stay. After that it all went slowly downhill. We hadn't used all our points, so we experienced our first fees to transfer unused points to the next year. The second year, we used points to go to Wisconsin, using points for 2 nights and paying for 1 night beforehand out of pocket at a hotel along the way. This used up all but about 2500 points that we were allotted for a 2 year period. If you don't use them, you lose them. We decided to take the kids to Tulsa for a 1 night stay. That is ALL the 2500 points would cover being converted to a hotel.
Bluegreen booked us with the top-rated hotel on their list for Tulsa saying it had excellent service. It was beyond terrible. It was during spring break and they put all families with children on 2 different floors and reserved the other floors (I think there were about 8-10 floors) for individuals. We didn't sleep a wink. We have quiet children that are made to mind their manners. Obviously it was a free for all in the rooms on both sides of us and across the hall. An older child banged on the walls and screamed and pouted until after midnight. The walls were so thin we could hear whole conversations and yelling matches. We said something to the hotel management about the horrible noise and all they did was apologize. Not to mention there was no vent in the bathroom, the fridge didn't work and it was not the cleanest. Bluegreen and Traveler Plus would do nothing about it either so it was our first "loss" of points.
The 3rd and 4th year, we were so busy and I was working, raising kids and full-time college. We ended up transferring all our points from the 3rd year over to the 4th. Keep in mind, we have been paying on the mortgage on the timeshare, plus had to pay the yearly dues of around $700+ plus the transfer fee of the points once again. We had learned at this point that it didn't pay to convert the points to hotel stays and Traveler Plus didn't cover the 2 times we did have to travel for 1 night stays to northwestern Kansas. We went to an owner's meeting in Wichita early in 2015. We listened to them and they, of course tried to sell us MORE points, just like with EVERY trip. They were syrupy sweet the whole time.
When we said we would actually like to sell what we had, they instantly turned hostile. Not quiet or stand-offish... flat out hostile with ** eyes, condescending voice and I was pretty sure they would have shoved us out the door and down the stairs if there wouldn't have been witnesses. It took them less than 2 minutes to escort us out of the meeting once they figured out WE wanted to sell ours. I would have gladly unloaded our points at half the price or less to one of the individuals than what they were being offered in that meeting and I think that is why they wanted us out of there. Not to mention, the lady that was assigned to us made sure to point out that this was really a meeting for Branson Bluegreen owners and since we were Wisconsin owners, we should have to travel up to that area for an owner's meeting. My husband and I were both fuming by the time we left.
As stated before, we didn't use any points in 2015. We were tired of Branson and everything else takes us away from home and obligations way too long. We looked into using RCI numerous times, but that definitely didn't compute in dollars. Not only did RCI have their own conversion, but it was really hard to find any place for 3 day stays or less. PLUS, you had to pay another fee for converting, that normally added up to a couple of few hundred dollars. Our dues came around again a few days ago. I procrastinated on paying them until today, because I was so mad at the company and ourselves for throwing money away. We lost all of our points for the last 2 years. They would not let us even pay to keep the points. Probably didn't help that I asked once again if they had any means to help us sell them.
We could have gone on some really awesome vacations for what we have spent out to Bluegreen and its affiliates. We have been trying to sell this for the last 2 years with no success and have been willing to take less than 1/2 of what we paid. Bluegreen refuses to help whatsoever with the selling of our timeshare. They have suggested Pinnacle Vacations which has terrible ratings as well. We realize that this is one of those hard life lessons and Bluegreen preys on easy targets such as ourselves. Shame on you Bluegreen, I will never have anything good to say about your company. Even if it meant losing all the timeshare, I truly hope that Bluegreen will go belly-up as it deserves. Then they won't be able to do this to anyone else.

I am gravely disappointed in my experience with this company. I am skeptical about timeshares to begin with anyway, but I had a little extra money at the time. They sell you with "You can stay in this 'beautiful resort,' and all you have to pay is taxes." Hmm... (Keep in mind I talked to these scam artists for over an hour asking every question I could think of to catch the lies.) Well, guess what... It's an $80 fee plus taxes to stay at the resort on top of what you had paid to begin with. Otherwise, you just paid $150 for a stranger to pick a moderately nice hotel for you. Yeah... No resort.
On top of that, they tell you if you go to the presentation you'll get cruise tickets... which I knew was too good to be true. For cruise tickets you have to pay $250 each for "dock fees" and also you have to pay taxes... So after all the hidden fees that I knew had to exist... You pay $600+ for two "free" cruise tickets which is almost what you would pay anyway. Stuff like this should be illegal. I would give negative stars if I could.

We have not even gone yet and have run into problems. We are trying to go on the vacation we bought at their Walmart thing. They called my husband to verify and he double checked our reservation and they confirmed. We then got a cheap hotel room somewhere else for the night before our getaway. They emailed us the confirmation with the wrong dates, clashing with our other hotel stay. When I called to try to have them fix it, they weren't rude, but they didn't take responsibility well. When they tried to "fix" it, they first cancelled our reservation before checking to see if they had another room. Then they tried to sell us a stay at their resort to upgrade, which we didn't want for financial issues. They then had to rebook us while I stressed out that we wouldn't get our vacation and we are two days away! We still didn't get the days we originally said.

Signed-up for a BlueGreen stay and pitch at BassPro. Received 3 nights at a Holiday Inn Express, in Charleston (Excellent. Stayed 2 more nights on our dime). Went to the pitch as required. Low key, no pressure, very informative. We agreed to buy-in. Closing was simple and professional, taking about an hour. After considering our situation (experienced travelers with no children), we decided BG would not suit our needs. We returned with hand written request to cancel. They very politely said "Thank you for your consideration" and refunded our deposit on the spot. Frankly, I was very relieved at not being pressured to stay in the deal.
I have been a commercial real estate lender for 40 years, with no experience with timeshares. BG was very professional, in all regards. They seem to have a great product for the right customers (families who seek extended stays at quality locations). Yes, they have annual fees, but you get what you pay for. BG ownership pays off big-time after about 7 years in the program. I write this review because most of the ones on this site, that I have read, seem to be from snivelers who expected something for nothing. My experience with BG was informative, low pressure and very professional. We gave them three hours of our time and they gave us three days at a quality hotel, in a great location. Would have been less time, had we not chose to buy-in at the pitch. One has 5 days to change their mind... with no cost or obligation.

Bluegreen is a terrible company. Just out to get your hard-earned money and to take advantage of you. We were lied to and manipulated into buying a timeshare. If the sales people had been honest with us in the first place we never ever would have made this horrible mistake. Paid over $9,000 for nothing. We don't even have enough points to go on vacation! Before I learned that we got scammed it was too late. For almost a year now I've tried EVERYTHING to get out of this nightmare, even getting scammed again for $1,300 by sellmytimesharenow.com. You just get so desperate to get out. You'll try anything. Also the day we bought the timeshare they took my information to check my credit score, I guess I didn't read what I was signing. STUPID! And they opened up a credit card in my name for $11,000 before I knew it. 6 hours later we were walking out of there not even knowing what happened!
So if I could even get out of the contract with Bluegreen I still owe Barclay bank $9,000 which now they've tacked on interest of over $100.00 a month making the minimum payment $200.00 a month! We can't afford this! I've come to realize the only option for me is to let the timeshare get foreclosed on and I can't pay the loan back. I've worked my whole life to pay my bills on time and keep my credit great. Now I'll probably have to claim bankruptcy. It's REALLY sad... The one who pays most for this is my 2 Year Old son. I did it because I was told he could have a vacation for a lifetime and all this has done is screwed up our whole future. Now he'll never be able to go on any vacation. People please be smart about timeshares and don't let this happen to you. You can say no 1 million times like we did but all it takes is one yes to screw up your whole life...

PLEASE DO NOT fall for it. We got free stay at SLS Las Vegas and had to attend their 'presentation'. After that, salespeople provided info such as, We have tie-ups with all major airlines and for $1000-1100 round trip, you can use approximately 2000 vacation points. Since I travel internationally frequently, I thought even if I don't use this for vacation, I can use it mostly for travel and bought the basic package. As it turns out, I can't use any points for travel purpose. Even if I could, it would take 24,000 points to book a ticket worth $500. Utterly disappointed, I tried to get hold of the director of sales there. I called Las Vegas sales office 10 times and asked receptionist to leave the message; but upper management people just kept on ignoring.

After losing my job, I fell behind on my Bluegreen mortgage and maintenance fees. I have been a member since the 1990's and always paid on time. When Bluegreen threatened to foreclose, I didn't pay my home mortgage in order to catch up and paid Bluegreen over $5000 during a very short time frame. I also received an unsigned letter on Bluegreen stationery, dated June 17, 2015, telling me my loan was paid in full as of 5/13/2015. I was paying on the mortgage directly to Bluegreen and after paying off the loan I called to set-up payments for maintenance fees. I was told by the Mortgage Dept Manager, when I expressed concern about the maintenance fees, not to worry about them until I paid off the mortgage. I was shocked when told nobody at Bluegreen could speak with me. I was given the number to Pinnacle, a collection agency and informed I needed to make maintenance fee payment arrangements with them.
I was also threatened with the knowledge that if I couldn't pay Pinnacle would sell the membership. Bluegreen waited until I paid off the mortgage to send it to this agency. I received a letter from Pinnacle dated 7/30/15 notifying me of intent to cancel membership and according to this document I owed $3,791.21. I immediately made payment arrangements with Pinnacle and was informed the fees needed to paid off by 9/30/15. I scraped together payments, however, when I called, mid-September, to make the final payment it was refused. Pinnacle stated for some reason, unknown to them, Bluegreen took the account back. When I contacted Bluegreen I was informed it had been foreclosed and nobody could speak to me. I was so upset the representative transferred me to a supervisor. After speaking he agreed to take the final payment, but the amount due was much higher.
My final payment was $2,291.21 but when Bluegreen took it back it became $2,666.71. When I questioned this discrepancy the supervisor nastily informed me he didn't care what figure Pinnacle had, his was the correct one. I was given the choice of paying this amount or lose the membership. I requested an accounting, in writing, and the manager told me he would submit my request and I should call back because I couldn't receive a written statement. Then I was informed I still couldn't use my membership because current 2015 maintenance fees were due. So, once again I made arrangements to pay 2015 maintenance fees. I was given the following: $2417.80 maintenance fees and $129.00 club dues for a total of $2,546.80. I was to make 8 payments of $324.71 by the 15th of the month with the final payment date in May. This account was sent unexpectedly to Axis Financial and I received a request to pay $368.39.
I paid $368.39 from October to March thinking I would pay the fees off earlier. I never questioned the $368.39 because it never occurred to me that Bluegreen would change the numbers. I called Bluegreen on Saturday March 27, 2016 to find out why the online maintenance fees were much higher than I expected. I was told to call back on Tuesday March 29, 2016 because the financial group needed to explain why the balance was so high. I called Tuesday and was transferred around and no one could assist me and I was finally told a supervisor would call me on Wednesday March 30, 2016. Needless to say I waited and I didn't receive a call. I called again on Thursday March 31, 2016 and got the automated call back system and was informed someone would call me back in 17 to 28 minutes. When I had been waiting for over an hour I called back and got J, after a very short wait, who did give me some answers.
He was able to work with the finance group while I was on the phone. According to the finance group, my agreement with Bluegreen to pay $324.71 was incorrect and the amount of $368.39 sent to Axis Financial was correct. He told me the amount should have been $$2,947.12. I was stunned, each time I called Bluegreen I was told I had an agreement to pay $324.71 and a representative even told me I should have made my payments directly to Bluegreen and I wouldn't have this problem. I thought I was avoiding a problem by continuing to make payments to Axis. Now I know it wouldn't have made any difference because there was going to be a problem. Not once did any representative mention that $368.39 was my required payment. They appeared to be just as confused as I was as to why the balance didn't reflect my higher monthly payments. I just got rude comments and a rush to get me off the phone.
Until I spoke with J and he spoke to the finance group, I was unaware of a higher balance and the mistakes made by Bluegreen. Most importantly, I have no idea where this additional money originates from, nor could J tell me. When J explained to the finance group that I was never advised of an error and suggested that Bluegreen honor the original agreement, they flat out said NO! In other words I'm just supposed to suck it up and deal with it a second time. I had an agreement with Bluegreen to pay $324.71 for 8 months with a final payment due in May 2016 which I have honored faithfully. It appears Bluegreen changed the agreement to $368.39 without my knowledge, agreement or consent. If there was an error I should have been notified, in writing, details of the error and the requirement to pay a substantial increase in money. I should have been allowed to acknowledge and agree to this change.
This is the second time I thought I was paying off a financial obligation only to rudely be informed of additional monies I was not aware of. I no longer trust Bluegreen because the actions are unscrupulous and it appears they keep trying to take my membership after I paid off the mortgage! Coupled with the aforementioned, every time I used a property and attended an owner update I was sold additional points. Why? Because I was presented these fantastic new benefits I could not take advantage of unless I purchased additional points. Stupidly, I upgraded in Aruba (about 2 yrs ago) and needed a co-signer even with a substantial down payment. My daughter signed because I asked her too. She is not paying on this and I didn't expect her too. My older daughter, who handles my financial affairs, was livid with the both of us.
Her point, why would a senior citizen, who needed a co-signer, be encouraged (in order to use a new benefit) to purchase more points. I did attempt to cancel the new contract and was told I couldn't. I have been paying for this new mortgage and have not been able to use it due to maintenance fees. I am on an 8-month payment plan and then will be looking at a new maintenance fee assessment. I am retired and now send a good chunk of my retirement income to Bluegreen. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on the first complaint without an acceptable resolution. I have called their customer service department a number of times and always receive a promise of a supervisor calling me back. I never received a call. I sent correspondence to KC, Customer Care Management Specialist on 4/4, 4/7, 4/13, 4/18 and have literally begged for a reply and received none.

Back in December 2015 I received a call from Bluegreen Vacations telling me that I had won a cruise and a 3 night vacation at one of their resorts. The only catch was that I had to attend a two hour presentation where they would try to sell me a timeshare. The only requirement was that I was either a homeowner or made at least $60,000 a year in gross income. At the time I met one of their requirements so I went ahead and set it up. I ended up paying them a total of $298.00. I have listed the two issues below. If someone wants more details feel free to message me as I would love to spread the "good news" about bluegreen vacations. The issues are listed below:
Issue #1: They offered me discounted Disney tickets which, after checking Disney's website, did not actually look any different than what Disney would sell them for. When I pressed customer service on this issue they seemed to either not understand or avoid admitting that they probably don't actually give truly discounted tickets. I went ahead and refunded them since I felt like they had not been completely transparent about their discounts.
Issue #2: At the time I accepted the offer I met BlueGreen's minimum income requirement. However, my resort stay that I had scheduled in Orlando was set for April 2016 which is when I was also leaving my job. This means that I would temporarily not meet their income requirement. I have since quit my job (at the end of March 2016) so that I can prepare to attend a coding bootcamp. Essentially I am going to a three month intensive program to become a computer programmer.
Blue Green called me about mid-march to confirm my appointment date and asked me once again if I was making their minimum income requirement. At the time of the call I was in fact still making the minimum income requirement. However, because I wanted to make sure I was being honest I disclosed that as of 4-1-2016 I would no longer be making that income because I was switching jobs.
I was told that due to this they were going to suspend my vacation. I was pretty pissed (I had planned this for months) so I asked to be transferred to customer service so that I could ask for a refund. Customer service told me that since it had been more than 30 days since I paid that I could not receive a refund. So basically - I cannot use the vacation that I paid for but I also cannot receive a refund because it has been longer than 30 days. How much do you want to bet that BlueGreen is going to sell the nights booked for the hotel room that I PAID FOR to someone else?
BlueGreen told me that if I ever made the minimum income requirement again within a year or so I could once again take the vacation. To be quite honest it was a piss poor customer service experience. I am being charged for goods that I cannot take advantage of because of an income change. In addition, since I still met the requirements when BlueGreen asked me about the income requirements I technically did not have to disclose anything. I did disclose the changing income information because I wanted to be honest. BlueGreen though apparently does not care about building a relationship with future customers. BlueGreen would rather make $300 now and risk a plethora of issues than do right by their customers.
To BlueGreen - I promise you that shortly I will not only meet your minimum income requirements but I will exceed them. However I never want a damn thing from your company. I have already filed a credit card dispute with my bank. They have denied my claim so far so I will now be reporting you to the better business bureau.
In addition - Whenever I hear your company's name I will make sure to share my experience with whomever I am around. I want them to know about the "relaxing" experience working with a company such as yourself was. Don't forget to tell anyone that wins your vacations that your vacation service doesn't give a damn about anything other than their money. If you forget don't worry, I will tell them for you. Sincerely, a customer whose money you are holding hostage.

I joined Bluegreen Vacations because they assured me that my timeshare points could be transferred to motel room time. Conveniently for them during the sale, they couldn't show me an example of how the points swap worked. My Gospel singing group uses from 20 to 40 nights a year in motels. AFTER joining and trying to book for a trip, I discovered that I could only get about 2 nights a year at motels with their exchange rate. They didn't lie, but they very boldly misrepresented.

My husband and I have 3 small children. To make a long story short, we purchased the $149 package through Bass Pro Shops in Nashville TN on Feb 26th of 2016. Needless to say, it was a HORRIBLE first-time experience and one that we will NEVER do again!! The guy told us that they only put people in 4 and 5 star hotels.
Well, we were put in a 3-star hotel and it was very small for my family of 5. We were put in a Super 8 that was hideous (and I'm not being picky. It's true!) We killed a bug crawling on the ceiling the first night which was a roach of some kind, then the bathroom was so small, the door hit you when you opened and closed it and we didn't even have a dresser for our clothes. It was a piece of furniture with shelves!!!
We made sure to be put in a non-smoking room yet the room next to us was smoking so the smoke came in our room every time we opened the door due to someone standing on the balcony smoking, and my 5-year-old is allergic to cigarette smoke! We arrived on a Sunday evening and on Monday we sat through a 4-hour seminar with our children. They asked us about our accommodations and we told them how horrible it was and they said they would take care of it and move us to a better hotel that same day. They never called and it never happened!!! I guess since we didn't purchase a timeshare they didn't feel the need to hold up their end of the deal.
Well, all I can say is Bluegreen Vacations will be getting a VERY bad review from me and every time I see someone being scammed at a Bass Pro or anywhere else by Bluegreen Vacations or Outdoor Traveler, will definitely be hearing what a horrible idea it is and to AVOID all Bluegreen or Outdoor Traveler offers because it's a scam and you get treated like crap!!! Not to mention the accommodations are horrible!!! I will be leaving my review online as much as I can as well as with the BBB. Thanks for absolutely nothing... and I mean NOTHING! We even made the people at the seminar aware of my daughter's allergy to cigarette smoke and they apparently couldn't care less!! This was our first time and our last time with Bluegreen Vacations! Please, always read reviews first! Wish I would have.

We purchased our timeshare in September 2012. We used it in 2013. We could not use it in 2014 and 2015 because of family issues and new employment. During this time we let our $49.99 Travelers Plus expire because we weren't able to vacation at that time, not knowing we could not sign back up with this program unless we bought into more timeshare. We are at South Mountain Resort New Hampshire as I write this. My wife and I went to their promotional talk and walk thru in order for them to sell us an upgrade in points. I ask to rejoin as a Travelers Plus member, they informed us it would cost us $11,500 in more timeshare just so we could rejoin a $49.99 service. Trying to book a vacation is very difficult. Nothing is ever available. I would sell my timeshare for $11,500 less than I invested in it before I would give them one more dollar!!!

First things first, no I don't work for Bluegreen and no they aren't paying me to write this review. I just know that as a hard-working single mom, I rely a lot on customer reviews so I try to give a positive one when I can, especially in a sea full of bad ones. I was shopping at North Georgia Outlets when I was approached by a Bluegreen Marketing rep. Long story short, they offered me a 4 day and 3 night vacation in a select city for $99. I also received a $50 gift card that same day and was told that if I booked my trip within 30 days and attended the required timeshare presentation I would receive another $25 gift card and a free cruise. I figured for $99, it was worth it. I would spend way more than that if I were to book a trip on my own.
The process was pretty straight forward, the only thing they failed to leave out until AFTER they had my money is that you had to be at least 26 years old, have a major credit card, and make at least $40,000 a year to qualify to purchase a timeshare. So if you didn't, there was basically no point in you attending the presentation and thus no reason for them to offer you a cheap trip. Which is why they inform you that if you "disqualify" yourself from being eligible to attend the presentation you must pay full price for the vacation.
In other words, if you know you don't qualify, don't wait until you've traveled to who knows where and then say "I don't make $40,000 a year". I'm not saying you should lie, I'm just saying you should turn down the trip and attempt to get a refund BEFORE you actually go. However, if you insist on testing your luck, they will not actually attempt to verify your income and credit situation unless you actually try to purchase a timeshare.
Anyway, I booked my trip 2 weeks later. Yes, it was a little difficult to get the exact location I wanted on the exact days that I wanted to travel, but that's to be expected. The hotels you are allowed to stay at are all partners with Bluegreen (sort of like a Groupon type deal) and the rooms are being offered at a discount to Bluegreen, so not every room at the hotel is going to be available to be booked and if you want to upgrade to something bigger and nicer, you have to pay what the hotel charges, not what Bluegreen offered you. So if you call Bluegreen and ask to book a particular spot and they say its unavailable, it probably is. Of course you can turn around and call the hotel and they will tell you that they have rooms available, but NOT at the discounted price you're paying through Bluegreen. Those rooms are reserved for full paying customers. Common business practice.
So yeah, I booked my trip over the phone. I was under the impression that I would be staying at an actual Bluegreen Resort in St. Pete (it's a very nice resort, right on the beach) but that is not the case. However, those are the actual timeshares that Bluegreen owners purchase. You will get to tour them but you cannot stay in them unless you pay an upgrade fee to do so. So, I received my hotel accommodations the next day. Like I stated earlier, they have agreements with a few different hotels in each city so once you call to book your trip, they will then contact the hotels and send you a reservation confirmation within a few days. You won't find out the same day.
I didn't like the location and reviews of the first hotel they selected for me (it was the first available) so once I received the confirmation email I simply called back and asked if I could be placed somewhere else. They were very nice about it and though it took them about a week, eventually they were able to get me better accommodations. They were also upfront with me about the additional cost at the new hotel. Unlike the first hotel they selected, this one was a "resort", so I would be responsible for a $20 per night resort fee as well as the taxes. I was fine with that. It ended up being an extra $67.50.
Once we arrived at our destination (St. Pete Beach) we had to check in at the Bluegreen Welcome Center first and then we were given instructions on when/where our timeshare presentation would be and information on how to check in at our hotel. It was quick and easy. The hotel was okay, it was on the beach, pretty much exactly like presented on the hotel website. The presentation was across the street in the Bluegreen Resort which was VERY nice. If I had the money to purchase a Bluegreen timeshare, I would. Everyone was nice, they had refreshments, and the presentation was actually interesting and informative. It was about an hour and a half long and then you are assigned individual salesmen who will take you on a quick tour of the property then attempt to get you to purchase a timeshare. I went alone to the presentation alone and I was nervous about how pushy they may be but it wasn't unbearable.
Yes, they are salesman. Yes, they want you to buy a timeshare. That is why they offered you a $500+ vacation for $99. So expect to their attempts to persuade you. Was that part of the deal fun? No. But I was firm when they asked to purchase and said no. They offered me a million other less expensive options and I turned them all down and walked away after about 20 minutes of back and forth. I wont get into the details of how much the timeshares are and if they're worth it and blah blah blah because I don't know the fine details. I looked at the monthly payment and was like HECK NO!
I still received every gift that I was promised, including the certificate for a free cruise. I have not attempted to book it yet but I will be sure to review after I do. Even if the cruise doesn't work out, it was worth it in my opinion. I received $75 in return after the initial $99 I paid. So essentially I received a nice 4-day vacation in St. Pete Beach, FL (which would have been $980 if I booked directly through the hotel that weekend ) for about $25. I probably wouldn't do it again, simply because I now know I cant afford a Bluegreen Timeshare but the experience was not terrible at all.

I was sold a vacation to Las Vegas for 4 nights for $199 and had a year to redeem. A few months go by and I book the flight for my mom and I. I called Bluegreen to confirm and they tell me that unless my significant other is traveling with me then I cannot go. I would have to pick a date better suitable for him. I proceed to tell them that he has no intentions of traveling, that rather it's my mom and I going. They tell me that if he does not go, I would be charged up to $300-$1,000 a night. She then tells me that I can cancel and it's nonrefundable at this point. Moral of the story.. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! Their salespeople are money hungry and will sell at all cost! THEY WILL SCAM YOU! They have zero morals and the reps are all trained to lie and steal and put you in a corner.

I received a phone call from "James" badge ID # **, at Blue Green Resorts stating that I had entered into a contest and was selected as the winner of "Vacation Your Way". After cold calling me, he wanted my husband's name and credit card information to redeem my 4-day 3-night trip. When I wouldn't give him my husband's name or information about a credit card, he got very upset with me. I told him that he said I "won" so I shouldn't need a credit card right now, nor information about who I would be traveling with. He then tried to argue that he said "I earned a discount". After saying no, he said "won", he hung up on me. So I called back.
After talking with someone else that knew my first name based on caller ID, she also said I "won a Vacation Your Way". I said, "yes that is what the last guy that hung up on me said." I voiced my complaint about "James", and she apologized for him. When I asked for something in writing about this "opportunity", as they kept calling it, she said that they would need $298 to hold by opening to make a reservation. I politely declined their offer. Obviously, this is a bunch of crooks, trying to scam people any way they can. Do not talk to them, and if you do, don't give them any personal information. Obviously, it drives them nuts.

When I was asked to update, they used a lure of their yacht club feature and it was not clear that you had to continue their traveler's plus program for the lie of your contract with them. Upon upgrading the program due to an unclear contractual payment date cause me to have to upgrade again and it cost almost three times as much as it was to cost because of a default date. They were unwilling to extend the courtesy of letting me util with the lower cost. Being a senior I think they tend to take advantage of anyone and especially seniors who want to vacation.
They recently tried to get me to upgrade again and when I would not they kept talking and the promised 45 min presentation became three hours. My sisters who were waiting for me got concerned and definitely knew they would not be interested. After I complete the loan they extended me I will not be upgrading or purchasing with any resorts companies. They should receive a minus 5-star rating (-5 star).

Bluegreen had us set through a 7 1/2 hour presentation. They said would be no more than 90 min. High pressure sales. Any lies of how it was a good real estate investment. Maintenance fees never go up. We could rent our place to pay for it. We could travel the world. We could stay at any resort. The list goes on and on. I wrote down two legal pages full while there. My husband has bad heart problems and hard of hearing. I'm disabled and have severe pain. We kept telling them no and I needed to leave. That's when they brought in the big guns to set the hook. More lies and great deals. Told us Disney was buying land up so it would go up in value!!
They opened credit cards in our name. We live on disability and social security and no cc company would give us that kind of credit. They told us we would have mortgage through them for 5.99% interest. Then we ended up with 5 credit cards in our name!! We did NOT ok these transactions. The only way we could get credit is for them to forge our income. They told us to lie about it and we told them, "No, we didn't want a cc and wouldn't lie!!" They will not return calls. Said we had our own representative to help us and give us a fictitious number to call. Called BG and no return calls. Don't trust them!

Wife did too. We checked CreditKarma and both our reports had a credit check and scores dropped two points. I asked if she gave our SS# to them, she said "No." Here's where they get it -- when you go for your pitch they ask for your driver's license. I thought it's probably for security reasons because we're going to tour property with a young female associate... So if you want to drop your score, go for the nice weekend. Not worth it!!!

I was approached at a Home Show in Myrtle Beach about Bluegreen Vacation Resorts. I attend the Bluegreen presentation in Myrtle beach, SC. For attending this presentation I received $100.00 debit card, a discount book for the Myrtle Beach Area and a so called free cruise, which I later from required me to pay $235.00 per person. During the presentation the sales representative told me that by purchasing 7,000 points I would be able to take three vacations a year. This was later to found to be untrue. After purchasing the 7,000 points, I went home and reviewed the Bluegreen Book given to us. Clearly the book shows that 7,000 points would get you one vacation during the red weeks at some resorts but not all and it would be impossible to have three vacations in one year.
Well this did not fit into my lifestyle. Knowing that this purchase was not a good I called and asked for the proper way to cancel. I was told I had five days and that everything had to be returned to Boca Raton, FL. within five days. I would note that the contract person I spoke to was rude and developed a very bad attitude, complete different than when I was purchasing. Because of her attitude I was transferred to her supervisor which was more cooperative. I purchase on February 14th, 2016 and returned everything to Bluegreen on February 16th, as the 15th was a national holiday. I sent every item required by Priority and Certified Mail, return receipt required. It was sent this way because Bluegreen requires it.
Tracking the package I found it had arrive at the Post Office in Boca Raton on February 18th, 2016 and was suppose to be delivered on the February 19th, which would be five days after the initial purchase. Being concerned I called Bluegreen's Corporate Office and explained that the package was located at the Post Office in Boca Raton and that it was scheduled for delivery on the 19th. The person I spoke to said not to worry they would get the package and they would then start the cancellation process. I asked her what if it is not delivered, she stated it would be, even though it is still at the Post Office. I told her I was concerned about the five days and she told me February 19th was the fifth day and even though the 15th was a holiday day, five days was Bluegreen's policy.
I told her the package was mailed on the 16th well within the five days but she again told be Bluegreen's policy was it must be received at the Corporate Headquarters within five days. She also informed me that Bluegreen does not pick up packages from the Post Office. I believe that Bluegreen's cancellation policy is unfair and the mailing policy is impossible to meet. Bluegreen should allow for national holidays and accept the mailing date as the day of cancellation.

While shopping in Bass Pro Shops, I was approached and asked if I would like a $50 gift card. Well of course I would! She then proceeded to tell me for just $99 I could get 3 days 2 nights to any of their resorts. Then I would get $50 gift card at the end of the "stay" and $25 extra if I booked within 30 days. Well I was looking to book a hotel anyway in Charleston because we were going to a concert there. I was very specific in asking if there were blackout dates, and told her exactly what weekend I was looking at. She said "Oh no problem!"
Purchased, got $50 gift card. Got home and immediately called to book. Well of course they could not accommodate us on those dates, but if we came a day or two early, they could. I was NOT satisfied with that answer and insisted on talking to a supervisor. Lo and behold, 2 days later I got a confirmation for our booking. It was a Hilton Garden Inn and looked great. I was very excited because the company may have thought they were using me, but in reality I was using them. We were originally scheduled for our sales meeting on Sunday, but a few days before our trip I received a confirmation email and it now said it would be on Saturday. That's fine, no big deal!
We went and already knew we would say no. I have to admit that the sales pitch was intriguing and captivating. So much so that we almost got the $795 starter package. The head presenter, David **, gave us the song and dance about he being this great business man who started a men's formal wear store. Afterwards, I Googled to learn more about his fortune because he "sold it to a large corporation" and I see where the company he claimed to start actually started years before he was born. Liar from what I can tell!
Our personal sales guy was brand new, we were his second couple. He seemed very out of sorts, very uncomfortable, and just a bit confused. He sat at one point for about 2 min and didn't utter a word. I felt bad for him! Then the sales manager came over to show us costs and packages, etc. We said in numerous ways and numerous times that it was not something we could afford at this time. They always had "one more option". I finally told my husband I had enough and to make it go away. He put his foot down and we shook hands and left with our gift cards in hand. We were there for 3 hours, not the 90 we had been told so we were essentially just over it all. In the end, the hotel we stayed at was fantastic! Beautiful and clean. We actually got paid $25 to listen to their pitch! And we got a Valentines weekend away in Charleston!

We asked to speak privately and I googled it, popping up with complaints and the feeling it was not legit. We got trouble for declining.

This advertising material is being used for the purpose of soliciting sales of a vacation ownership plan. This advertising material is being used for the purpose of soliciting the sale of timeshare property or interests in timeshare property". I actually had to sign up for ConsumerAffairs to review only this place. I got a call from a Bluegreen Resort rep saying that my entry into a sweepstakes in a mall qualified me to win a 4 night, 3 day stay in one of their resorts, and a 4 night, 3 day cruise. After much discussion, I realized it was just to sell their timeshares and immediately I was out. The girl on the phone was "new" so she said, so she put a manager on the phone with me to seal the deal when I wasn't biting. When they told me that I would have to pay $200+ for a "deposit" of which I'd get back after I sat through their presentation, I instantly said no, because I mean, why should I pay for something I "won." She kept repeating "It's okay to be excited ma'am. Usually everyone we talk to is excited, and you're the only one who doesn't sound excited."
I explained to her that it wasn't that I was not excited, but that I don't want to spend money that I don't have on something that I never planned on spending money for to begin with. She continued on to tell me that I should be excited, and then upgraded the offer to 6 nights, 5 days on a cruise (to which I already told her I get terrible motion sickness and wouldn't use the cruise anyway) and added an additional 3 night/2 stay weekend getaway to the deal, for the same price. I said to her that she can add whatever she wanted to this deal, it doesn't change the fact that I'm not going to purchase anything today. Then she asked me if I had a credit card, and urged me to put it on the card. She said "interest on $200 will only be about $2 anyway so what difference does it make?"
As soon as she said that, the conversation was over. I continued to tell her I was not going to pay for anything, especially not on my credit card, and especially when I have an outstanding dental bill to pay (because seriously, how dare she tell me how to use my money and what's important and not important to pay for, I'm just so disgusted.....). As she spoke, I was looking up reviews. Finding the mind boggling number of 1-star reviews I continued to realize this was a scam. She continued to pitch the sale and then said, "you know what, let's just go ahead and get you signed up and then you'll get all the information sent out to you in an email. Will you use Visa or MasterCard today?"
I thought I couldn't be any more blown away than I already was, but it happened, and I was floored. I straight up told her no, not at this time, I can't pay for it now, I will not "just use my credit card," I was not buying anything, and that was it. I told her I spoke with my boyfriend and he agreed. She then had the gall to say, "You know what ma'am, give me your boyfriend's number and we can conference him in and I will tell him about it. If you pay for it today, he will give you the money back, I'm sure." I again refused and said absolutely not. Conversation over. She ended the call sounding all annoyed as if 'I' was wasting 'HER' time.
The only reason this is getting 2 stars instead of one is that she was a good salesman, and the original girl I spoke with was very nice. She knew how to sell and swindle and if I was a weaker person, she would have roped me into this deal. Thankfully, I am intelligent enough to know not to get involved with deals like this. I just don't know how this company thinks it's okay to use "just put it on your credit card" as an appropriate marketing method. In very bad taste, Bluegreen Corp. Very bad taste indeed.

I was contacted by phone to review a timeshare presentation in Orlando, Florida. I was promised a $300.00 gift certificate, 4 tickets to see a dinner show or the Arabian Nights, a 3 day, 2 night getaway and a 4-7 day free cruise plus 4 days and 3 nights at the resort we were going to tour. I had to pay about $425.00 as a booking fee and attend a 90 minute presentation. My parents had owned at Bluegreen and I knew they were a public company so my wife and I decided to go down for a Thanksgiving weekend. We had taken several vacations thru timeshare ownership so we were interested in comparing Bluegreen to the other companies.
In reviewing everything before the trip, I found out that the Arabian Nights show had closed in Orlando and in fact had been closed at the time we were promised the tickets. I contacted Bluegreen and was told "yes the show had closed", but they were going to give me a gift card for $50.00 for the value of the 4 dinner show tickets. I complained but they said that was their policy and our option was either take it or not. Next, we went to Orlando and checked into the resort on Wednesday night. The room was dirty and musty. I went back to the desk to check on a different room and was told no other room was available. We stayed Wednesday night and spent Thanksgiving Day in Orlando and then on Friday late morning we had our 90 minute presentation.
We listened to the presentation and then told the sales representative that we were not interested in purchasing because what the room was like we were staying in. By this time my wife was feeling sick and related it to the odors in our room. We were told by the sales manager that they knew that building had some bad rooms but they had purchased in the last few years and had not remodeled. We asked for our gifts and we left, almost 4 hours later than when we started and much longer than the 90 minutes we were told. At that time we went to get our gifts and checked out, even though we had paid for an extra night.
When we got our gift we found that we would have to pay a fee to book our weekend stay and also to get our cruise. We did get our $300.00 gift card plus a $50.00 gift card and after speaking with a manager got them to agree to send us a check for an additional $50.00 for the 4 show tickets. We found out when we got our gifts that we had to send deposits checks to a third party company called GOCRV to get a certificate that we could then fill out relating to when we wanted to go on the trips. We received the certificates and I booked the weekend to Gatlinburg, TN. I had to pay an upcharge to get a decent place to stay which was almost as much as we would have had to pay to book direct. We stayed at a very nice Vacation Ownership location which was not owned by Bluegreen.
When we tried to book our cruise we had to send in three different dates to go. They had to be 30 days apart and we would be contacted 45 days before the trip. I picked three dates out of New Orleans and waited until 45 days prior to the first requested date. I contacted GOCRV by finding a telephone number thru their website and after waiting about 50 minutes got to speak to a representative. I was told by the GOCRV representative that they would do a search for me but that if I did not take the cruise that they found for me that there would be an additional charge for me to call back and even search for an alternative date.
After waiting for someone to search, they told me that there was only one room available on all of the cruises that they had available and that was an inside room to leave out of Cape Canaveral instead of New Orleans. I would also have to pay an additional $888 in addition to the $150 I had already paid as a deposit. This meant the "FREE" cruise with a value of $900.00 would now cost me $1,038 and that did not include the cost of tips or any transportation. I paid the additional money and went on the cruise.
Upon returning from the cruise I sent a certified letter to Bluegreen Vacations giving them the details of the cost I had to pay for my "FREE" cruise. I sent them copies of their paperwork showing the value of the cruise was $900.00 and that my cost was to be $-0- and asked them to reimburse me for my costs that I had to pay GOCRV. I did not get any response back from my letter. I then wrote to the Orange County Dept of Consumer Affairs who handle complaints against Timeshare Companies. They acknowledged my complaint but told me all they could do was to write a letter to Bluegreen but they had no power to take them to court on my behalf.
I understood they could not act for me but I was hoping that they could file a complaint and fine Bluegreen. I sent my letter to the Attorney General of the State of Florida and they forwarded it to the Department of Agriculture Consumer Affairs Division. They have told me that they will send a letter to Bluegreen but that they also cannot bring in action for my benefit.
This is the first time I have ever filed anything on the internet but I am doing so hoping that others will not believe what the marketing dept from Bluegreen tells and and maybe somebody might start a class action suit against Bluegreen. I am not as interested in the money as I am in having Bluegreen stop doing acts which they know are illegal but knowing that nobody is going to do anything about it. Before you consider buying a timeshare or vacation ownership from Bluegreen, look on the internet at all the owners who want to sell and also consider buying from another company. I might have considered my experience as just a mistake but there are too many complaints on the internet and I have been told by these agencies I have spoken to that they have a lot of complaints involving Bluegreen.

I wish I would have thought to look into this company before becoming one of the suckers! I was lured into the grand set up for this 'company'. Surely the way that they make money is by taking the $200 deposit from people and then finding ways to not refund them. The representative was more than willing to tell me that this was no risk, you had plenty of time to look over the information, gave extra phone numbers to contact the travel agents to set up the vacations etc. When I tried to call the phone numbers to see about availability, no one would answer the phone, I left numerous messages.
I decided to call the other number (that he told me to not call, because that was a waste of time) and was able to speak to a representative. I will say that I was over the 30 day time-frame. They give you to cancel with full refund, however, based upon not being able to get ahold of anyone, not making a reservation at all, they could refund the monies if they were a decent company. This is just a scam and hopefully I see their booth at other events so that I can warn people in real time. I presume that all of us on here were at some sort of event where we did not think to look up the reviews before getting lured into the idea of "free" dinner, show, nights stay etc. Advice: Put the $200 towards a vacation that you are interested in booking and go there instead! You will have a better time and won't feel so silly for being duped! Such a bad company!!

As a business owner myself for 17 years, I cannot imagine treating any of my members the way my family and I were treated at your so called Mountain Loft Resort in Gatlinburg, TN. I'm going to get the complaint started and my Attorney will have a copy before the day is over.
Truitt Ken ** and I signed up as an Owner on December 9th 2013. As I was trying to revamp my business at that time and relocate in a new city, it wasn't until November 30th thru December 4th, 2015 that we got to take advantage of a Blue Green vacation. When we signed up in 2013, we paid Blue Green $6,891.31 in full for the Ownership and were told we only would owe the maintenance fees once a year. They gladly took our money and we thought we had a great deal. We signed up with Blue Green right there in Gatlinburg at the time. When we went to meet with Blue Greens salespeople, they put us in a townhome or whatever you called it which was very dingy looking, shredded blinds, hardly any light and basically looked nothing like it looked in your advertising on the website. I felt uncomfortable the whole time I was there and so did Ken.
During our meeting with the representatives, (you should have their names on record), we asked if all the resorts looked like the one we stayed in at Gatlinburg and they indicated that they were in the process of remodeling the entire resort and the next time we came back it would look entirely different. Well, we came back almost exactly 2 years later and they looked worse than they did at the time that we signed up. However, we got this great spiel that they would soon be gorgeous and that their workers would work night and day to ensure that they would be in tip top shape very soon the next year. NOT TRUE!
Here's how our stay went if anyone cares to know. After being excited about our first vacation with Blue Green, it was my 60th birthday and I couldnt wait to invite our friends and family to come on our vacation with us. After looking at the Resort online, our townhome looked so beautiful and fresh and I was hoping that after 2 years they would be complete. It did state on our email confirmation that Blue Green would be doing some construction while we were there from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and that did send off sort of a signal that we might be back in the same shape as we were 2 years ago.
At the end of our stay, we saw no construction and was not bothered by any construction noise whatsoever anytime of the day which proves my story here at the end. When we got to the townhome, we arrived at almost dark and there was no lighting at the entrance of the Resort. So we passed it not realizing it until we just knew we had gone too far. My elderly Aunt can only see out of one eye 30% and the other eye is completely blind and she was very uneasy about the lighting. When we got to the desk, the young gentleman there was very nice and sent us on our way to check into our townhome. Upon entrance inside the door of the townhome, we got slapped in the face with a horrendous gas smell.
We had not stopped and gotten anything to eat so we thought we'd run get something and come back because it was getting late and we needed to unpack. We had opened the windows to see if it would go away. After we came back to the room, it seemed the gas smell was even worse, but everyone started unpacking anyway. We opened more windows thinking that might help, but it was too much to handle. Since it was late and everybody was really tired, we hesitated to call maintenance. But after not being able to take the smell we called them. I was really amazed when they knocked on the door so quick but was more amazed to see this person who looked like a mountain man, long straggly beard with no uniform on just regular clothes. He had a younger guy with him. Had I been there by myself, I would have been scared to open the door with the way he looked.
They came in. But in the meantime, my older sister saw a message on the answering machine and decided to listen to it, thinking it might be for us. When she listened to the recorded information, it was a lady who had stayed in our room the day before and she had just left our townhome right before us complaining about the gas smell in the townhome. (It should be on record of who this lady was and I am in the process of finding her so I can speak with her about her complaint). This is what I do not understand. Why did they put us in a townhome knowing there was a very strong gas leak that could have possibly turned deadly for all of us. And why did they (the maids) ignore the message on the answering machine and not report it to the front desk - even though I'm sure the lady who left the message did report it to the front desk - but the front desk decided to throw us in that room anyway.
My family's thinking was, what if we had been a bunch of young teenagers, who had too many beers having a great time and fell asleep with the gas smell and possibly not waking up the next morning. There were no signs of carbon monoxide alarms in the room which should warrant a lawsuit for management. After the maintenance men left our townhome and saying they couldn't find a leak, they wanted to look up under our townhome. I later walked outside and heard them talking that there was enough of a gas leak to where none of us would have woke up alive. They finally discovered that the gas leak was coming from downstairs and we saw them working on the gas leak the whole next day. It's like they were having trouble finding it the whole next day. They also had to evacuate other townhomes.
The maintenance men left but came back and told us we would have to move. That we couldnt stay in that townhome, because we would not have woken up alive. So they put us in another one that was empty but wasnt prepped as it should have been for guest. There were no blankets, no hair dryer, no tissue. Just yuck. Upon the entrance of the townhome we had to move to, there is a trench right in front of the front door and the only way you could get to the door was jump it to keep from getting wet crossing it. My elderly Aunt had to be helped over and the lighting outside was a single light bulb and we couldnt see anything in front of us. As I reached to turn the lamp on beside the bed, the light bulb just peeled over causing exposure of possible electrical shock to me had I placed my finger wrong to turn it on.
What if a child had gotten their finger inside the bottom of the broken light socket? The more and more I looked around this particular townhome, I had realized that this place was in worse shape than it was 2 years ago when Blue Green took $6,891.00 from me and Truitt and I now believe, they knew that Mountain Loft would never be updated. That is my belief. The blinds were torn to shreds on the inside, same as 2 years ago and the porch part of the townhome was rotten all up and down one side. We couldnt wait to leave that place. It smelled of rot. Old and musty. When I checked out, I told the clerk at the front desk that I was disappointed but I did not want anything free.
Then the survey came for our stay and I decided to fill the survey out online meaning to grade it on how bad the place was. I make a habit of filling out surveys by the way after I stay somewhere. After filling out the survey, I got an email back from Richard ** apologizing and stated our issues were unacceptable, especially the gas leak, and offered us a voucher to come back and stay for free. As that was my second, disappointing experience (one when we signed up in 2013 and the second 2 years later), I told him "NO THANKS". That I wasnt looking for anything free and Im thinking no way would I stay there again and I would not recommend the place to anyone. He never responded back. Now, I am here today, to retract my statement of "I wasnt looking for anything free" and I still wasnt until I received my maintenance fees in the mail.
Let me ask you Blue Green, we have paid the maintenance fees every year since 2013, but why should I continue to pay rising maintenance fees, when you put me and my family in dumps that my maintenance fees are supposed to cover? Just where is our maintenance fee money actually going that we as owners are paying? It sure is not going to maintenance. Disgusting and embarrassing to my family. It was a rotten 60th and one I will never forget. You people ought to be ashamed of yourselves. On that note, I will not be paying your maintenance fees this time and I want the full refund of my $6,891.31 refunded to us for you are in breach of the contract that Truitt ** and I signed.
Your Board of Directors will hear about this, but your Owners are the ones who really count and I will make sure they see this letter, see the photos and know about my experience. Like I said, I have Blue Green Owners who are members of my Studio business and 2 of them have already said their experience prefacing some resorts they have stayed was basically the same horrible experience. Im going to send a couple of pictures of the not so hurtful photos for you to look at and that Richard ** also has, but I will be turning the others over to my attorney.
One last thing I should add after reading your reports from your annual meeting 2 years ago and reading the one you just sent with the most recent maintenance fee invoice, what is the deal with the employee turnover within Blue Green and why does the interest of the owners votes continue to fall? On September 17, 2013, the bylaws called for 15% of the owners total vote to be present in person or by proxy to establish a quorum. 2013 had 5,125 owner votes but required 26,484 owner votes in order to establish a quorum and on September 2015 you had only 3,576 owner votes but required 29,493.
Wonder how many owners are picking up on the fact that more owners are becoming uninterested in Blue Green. I think, the more and more I read, screw the maintenance fees and refund my entire amount of $6,891.13 or I will have my attorney expose everything. You have ten (10) days to respond before I turn everything over and Blue Green, my friend, this is not going to be pretty and Blue Green is not going to be that great vacation you are false advertising about.

This is a review of Bluegreen Vacations as an organization, not the resort. That will follow if appropriate. In June 2015, after a stay at a Choice Hotel, I got notified of an offer to stay at a Bluegreen resort. I remember the contact very clearly and I wrote down everything that was said at the time of contact. I was told that for $199 I would get a 4 day 3 night stay at one of their resorts or affiliated properties and 20000 Choice Privileges points. This offer would be good for 4 people traveling together and only 2 had to participate in a property tour. I knew this is a timeshare presentation which I normally do not go to but in this case I had an ulterior motive which is irrelevant to the review. My mistake is that I did not read the confirmation letter I received after the call. Had I done so I would have cancelled as what was written on the letter was not what was told to me.
When I finally got around to booking (which was not what I had originally planned due to family issues - like two daughters planning to have babies at the same time and not being able to travel at the times planned) we booked the trip to Las Vegas which is not a favorite destination of ours. It was at this time I found out that the offer was written down as $200 Master Card gift card back OR 20000 points. This was not what was told me. I went ahead with the booking with the note that I wanted the company to review the first phone call to verify what was said. I was advised that I would be called back in 48 hours. This was never done though I was contacted again to confirm the reservation. Not having been contacted after 5 1/2 days (including a holiday weekend - not their fault) I called back Bluegreen.
Talked to another agent and was told that, sorry that I was never contact but let's see what could be done. After much discussion it was agreed that I would be refunded $50 to my credit card (which was done and verified) and that at the visit I would get a MC gift card for $150 AND 15000 points. Tired of this go around I agreed. Just wanted this to end. Confirmation letter came and it said 15000 points only. I called back and after a go around with a supervisor I got nowhere and agreed to the gift card of $150 and no points. I was not going to get anywhere. If I did not accept this I would have lost the deposit as well as having to pay for the first night reservation.
I asked that the phone records be reviewed again and the supervisor said that she would do that. I stayed on hold and she came back and said that the agent's notes reflect the either/or offer and not the AND offer. She said that she reviewed the notes and never listened to the conversation. Sick of this I hung up. After confirmation I also found out that I would be paying tax on the room (this is usual) but that I would be also be paying a daily resort fee. This is BS for a hotel and a total scam. They tried to switch me to another hotel aside from the one originally booked and that one had a parking fee in addition. Paid parking in Vegas? You have got to be kidding. Had I been told that this was an either/or offer at the beginning I never would have booked it. That is ridiculous. The pot has to be sweetened somehow to get me to accept it. Never would have accepted the OR part.
Beware of this company. They are liars and cheaters. They will take your money and screw you in the end. Grant that I will not be out a lot of money with this but that is not the issue. The issue is honesty in business and this company is definitely not that. I am not a new person to this type of dealing. I know how to document and what questions to ask and I still got screwed. My recommendation, if you hear the term Bluegreen, run the other way as fast as you can.

I purchased a getaway package and in return I was to sit through a 2-hour timeshare presentation with the promise of a 3-4 or 5-day FREE cruise for two that needed to be taken within 18 months of the presentation date. I did not purchase a timeshare, there is no obligation, and you still get the FREE cruise certificate. I wonder though, if I would have purchased a timeshare, would I have had a different kind of FREE cruise certificate?
I called to make my cruise reservations and was floored at all the restrictions. First of all, the cabin is an entry level 1A. "What does that mean?" I asked. It's a room on the lower level with a bunk bed. REALLY??? I'm not a young kid, young kids do not purchase timeshares. Then I find out that I couldn't even get that room because I would have to book it in at least 90 days out. So now I would have to upgrade my room to an inside cabin or an ocean view and I'm in luck because they have a deal, that upgrade is only $1200 plus dollars. Wait a minute, this is supposed to be a FREE cruise!!! I was only supposed to be paying for port fees and oh yeah, fuel supplement and Vacation Tour and Travel Agency's service fees. WARNING: stay away from Bluegreen Vacations. SCAM!

So while shopping in Walmart (2 days ago), I saw the Vacays and Stays and decided to talk to the reps to find out more! Just like most of you they told me all the great things they offered. I tried asking questions that I thought would "get them" in the lies, but all of their answers sufficed. I ended up purchasing a 4 day 3 night trip to NOLA for $149. I remembered actually saying "this sounds too good to be true" and I should have listened to myself. So the next day I called my wife (who was out of town and who I normally go shopping with) and told her about the amazing deal I grabbed for us, and her response was "Ummm this sounds like a scam, did you check the reviews?".. Which led me here!
OMG. Thank God she told me to look at reviews and thank God that all of you decided to write your reviews to save someone like me. Because of these reviews I found out I only had the first 30 days to cancel which I asked about and they gave me the number to cancel but said nothing about the first 30 days. HOWEVER they did emphasize that if I actually booked the hotel within the first 30 days I would get another $25 off (along with the $50 GC they gave me). Not to mention I was interested in buying a vacay NOT a timeshare! So I called today and cancelled. If I don't come back with another review, it will be safe to assume I got my money back with no problems. I will definitely be letting everyone I know about these people and praying for all of you who lost your money, time and so much more.

Stay away from their last ditch effort to offer you a cheap trip that you have to use in a year. If life happens, you will not be able to "as a courtesy" have your Sampler reinstated so you can enjoy the services you paid for. Most of the places you will want to go will be too expensive to use the little bit of points you are sold and as a compromise will be asked to pick other dates that are more accommodating for them. Glad it was only 800.00 and not what they wanted to charge for their normal timeshare. On the other side they just cost themselves a potential sale for 800.00.

I just got back from one of the bass pro shop deals - $200.00 for 4 nights in the dells (Alakai "Resort") and of course attend the presentation. The hotel was ok - had a decent indoor pool and Sauna. Room was pretty basic - had flat screen fridge and Microwave. Beds were a little too firm for my liking. No real complaints at all - good deal for $50.00 a night and lots to do in the dells. I had no problems checking in or out nor booking and confirming this reservation.
The presentation was quite long but I was genuinely interested in what Bluegreen had to offer and fully comprehended and understood everything. The salespeople were nice and although I do not think I am the right customer for Bluegreen (young single guy) - I do see the value in what they have to offer for families as each of the resorts have condo-like complete accommodations with all you need on site. I did however opt to buy the sampler for $800.00 which gives you 9k points...
In reading the majority of the reviews here - I believe that an overwhelming amount of people here bought something they cannot afford or do not understand what a contract is. The math is all there for you to decide if this is a fit for you and if you don't take the time to fully comprehend that this may be a 90k lifetime commitment - then tough **.
I am a salesman for a living so I may have an upper hand on the average Joe but when it comes down to it - it's only math. And if someone talked you into something you can't afford or comprehend - that's your fault. I am excited to use the preview and consider if this may be a fit for me when I start a family. The pitch was good (although long), salespeople polite, and have no complaints about the resort we went to other than there should have been an extra ski lift open. Please keep in mind when reading all of these that people typically voice their opinion and write a review when they want to COMPLAIN. I do see value to this company at the end of the day and advise you to not to freak out over oblivious reviewers.

We gold level. Every trip is a hassle, never get the room you book. Upgrade are impossible to get unless it's in the offseason at the resort. Customer service lie constantly .we booked rooms in the 1st week of Oct 2015 for club 36 and Cibola Vista. I went online to check availability and there were several deluxe 1 br at both. I used customer service due to some issues with free weeks. After I book 7 weeks of vacation time I find out we are in the tiny junior suite at both. When I called the liars at customer service I was told they must not have been available when I told her I had checked online minutes before calling she then tells me I must not have asked for a deluxe room.
Lol ya, I'm stupid and want the smallest suite. I believe they use the good suites for potential customers and move owners into the crappy ones. Last year in Florida at the Fountains we were supposed to get a 2 br with a jacuzzi, nope standard 2 br. Promised us an upgrade. We were there 4 weeks never got one. Rci places are mostly old outdated 70 's motels as are blue-green in Florida with 2 exceptions. Only purpose I can see to the 60 Bluegreen resorts is to lure people in and sell points. It's not for owner satisfaction.
If you want to travel to Florida, etc., not a chance you're getting in the 10000 a week or less resorts, only the fountains which cost huge pts. It's a scam. They brag about having 150000 owners (Lol) and only 60 resorts, the math doesn't work. Same with the lies about fees, double what they tell you. As Canadian owners who haven't paid the balance yet just 2 years of interest, we may just walk away and see if they want to come to court in Canada to collect the money. The US government should be looking into this scam.

On December 29th we bought 7000 points from Bluegreen, sounded like a good deal, but was rushed through paperwork, at signing. Once we were home I started reading the paperwork and found many things we were told didn't match the paperwork, such as maintenance fees, club dues insurance and taxes, (which we asked about at signing and told we would not have to pay). I was told that although you are buying points for multiple timeshares you are buying into a specific timeshare. Ours is a condominium in north Carolina. Well I google mapped the address and there is no building there, nothing!!! But in our contract we have to pay property taxes on it? No way Bluegreen!!!
So I've spent my day writing and sending certified letters to every address I could find in my paperwork. I also had a stop payment put on the down payment and my bank account and cards changed. A lot of BS for such a good deal. Hopefully this company will leave us alone considering we are still in the number of days allowed to get out of this. I could go on about their low-pressure sales pitch and promises but bottom line, check your paperwork, google your invested property (I don't think it's legal to sell buildings that aren't there). Also my paperwork was signed by a notary out of Florida, our paperwork was done in Tennessee. I don't know very much about real estate laws but this seems strange. Class action lawsuit people. I was told that this was not possible and 7 years later I still have the property. New dialogue started in July 2015 and 6 months on there is still no progress or acknowledgement despite my sending recorded documents signed by a notary public at great cost to myself, but the office was closed so no one accepted the document when delivered by US Postal Service. We spent a week at the Bluegreen Resort at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla and attended and owner upgrade meeting while we were there. I told the sales people right up front we were not interested in purchasing and additional points but just wanted to know about any new resorts and/or benefits. He began to explain some new things to us and a manager showed up at the table. The manager offered us a deal we could not refuse. More points, lower payments and no maintenance fees for 2015 so we made the purchase. This was Oct. 30, 2015 since then we have found out we do have fees due and they tried to debit my bank account for a payment in November which was not supposed to be debited until Dec.
I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this straightened out with no success. We had been very happy with our Bluegreen experience up until this point but since they have proven to me they are not have my best interest in mind. I wanted to write this review. I am all about saving money so after approximately 10 minutes I was shelling out 199 for 3 nights in a hotel and a 5-day cruise. We had never done a cruise before so I thought it sounded like a deal. We went to the sales presentation and realized we couldn't afford to buy into the Timeshare. They did offer a trial package for $795 but did not buy that due to not being able to used it June, July and August.
We got the cruise certificate and did the cruise out of Charleston SC. We had to pay a total of $163 for the 2 of us for taxes etc... That turned out to be a great deal as we don't drink or gamble. The food was good and we danced and had a great time. We now would like to try a longer cruise and with a bigger ship as what we have heard it only gets better than Carnival. I highly recommend this for people on a budget. They told us everything up front. The hotel stay, the cruise, the money, the tour - all was true. Well I don't think I was home but just a few short minutes my phone rang, it was BlueGreen thanking me for my purchase and trying to get me to immediately book my trip. I told them I had not even talk to the people I wanted to invite along so I would have to call when we could all get our times together. Well after that they called no less than 3 times a day, some days more and emailed 2 or 3 times a day. If I did not answer they would wait 20 or 30 minutes and call back.
After a while of this I got tired of the constant harassment and called and asked to be removed from their calling list and email list. No one listened and the calls continued. I called several more times asking to be removed from the harassment list and at one point it work for about a week or 10 days then it was on again, constant calls and harassment. It got so bad that I had to turn my phone off. So I finally scheduled my "vacation" and more B.S. and lies followed. I was never informed that charges would be made to my credit card for "taxes and fees" which totaled $28.32. Monday was fit into our fun schedule and I went and checked in at the hotel and my friends and I took our things to our room. No problem all weekend, the hotel was great, the rooms clean and nice. Come Monday I misplaced the paper that had the address of where I needed to be so I went down to the lower level to ask and was informed by a lady and the man that checked me in that my presentation was scheduled for Saturday and I missed it.
I again told them no it wasn't that it was scheduled for Monday at 12:45pm and the man that checked me in told me this and had wrote it down but I had misplaced the paper he wrote it and the address on. The man and woman both got snooty and rude with me telling me that he was the only man there and he knew better than to schedule anything on Monday at that time. I said "well you must have been the man that did it then (because at that time I thought he was but wasn't positive so I did not want to say for sure because I didn't know)." Well they continued to disagree with me and basically called me a liar and I got very upset because of the way they were treating me. And the woman rescheduled the presentation for me, acting as though she was doing me a great service by doing so.
I left and went back to the room to find that paper. Well after a little while I found it. I took it back down there and stuck in up towards the man's face and said "see I am not a liar." He said "yes that is my handwriting so I guess I did schedule it for today." Him or the woman never once said I am sorry, I made a mistake, please forgive me for my mistake, nothing and still treating me rudely. They said "well you don't have to attend the presentation and we will mail you your gift cards." And that was it. No apology was ever spoken to me from them the rest of my stay. Still upset I go back to my room and call BlueGreen Vacations, and after being hung up on, called a liar again, and numerous rude and disrespectful customer service agents I finally get a man named Bryant to listen to me explain my entire experience with them from start to finish.
He promised me that he would check into all my complaints and try to find out what happened. I really do not expect him to do anything more at all about the entire situation but I want to warn others so they do not have to experience the rudeness and disrespect I did. Please take my advice and stay away from these people. Thank you for reading my complaints about this company. Hopefully you will make a better choice than I did.

There should be negative stars, that is where Bluegreen belongs. We bought with Bluegreen and were unhappy because we could never get a reservation where and when we want to. We were convinced it was because we were not premier level, so we upgraded to Bronze - our second mistake. We still can't get reservations. All of the sales meetings are unbelievably high pressure - the salesmen get very angry with you when you don't buy. We have had this happen in Pigeon Forge, TN and in Charleston, SC. As for RCI - most of the locations are dumpy places I wouldn't stay. To be honest, I can't find a single redeeming quality for Bluegreen.

During a trip to a theme park, we entered a vacation contest and just today I discovered we won. Of course, I was excited and while speaking with the rep began looking at the locations online. Everything was fine until he asked for a payment of two hundred and some odd dollars. Okay, I may not be the brightest light bulb in the pack, but if I won, why should I pay anything. The first rep was not successful so he put a heavy hitter on the phone who made the mistake of advising me that since I have a credit card I can charge it and pay it later! Excuse me, but who are you to advise me on how to use my credit cards? And again, if I won two trips I don't mind paying our airfare, but give you my card# for trips I won? I don't think so.
The seal the deal guy assumed I was a push over and continued to suggest charging this to a card. I thanked him for his tone, suggested he find someone else who was credit worthy to take the trip and hung up. He had the nerve to call back! However, I don't believe he or anyone else from that company will be calling me again. Again, my thought is that if I win, I shouldn't have to give the company a dime.

Like many others we were hit up at Bass Pro Shop. We did the $199 deal for the 4-night, 5-day getaway. I will say that I am happy with that as we got a bunch of $25 gift cards and we did have a nice trip. With that said here is the rest. Like many of you they wanted to put us up in a motel somewhere and not the resort (we did Boyne Mountain, MI). If you're selling a resort why the hell would you stick potential clients at some offsite motel? That wasn't going to fly so we did get upgraded to a nice place in town (still not the resort but it isn't the comfort inn so I'm ok with it). We came up on Thursday and did the tour on Friday. Basically the same story here but this team was better and much more subtle. That isn't meant to be a compliment.
It did sound like a good idea until they hit you with the price. Even if you start thinking about it. Don't forget to add in 20 years (that was their number) of maintenance fees which would have brought the total to roughly $60,000 with the rate they were quoting. They won't bring that to your attention but just keep that little nugget in mind. Although we had absolutely no intention of buying in we did pop for the tester $795 point bundle to get 9000 points to try them out for a year. I was ok with this until we starting reading the reviews. Both my wife and I started to freak out a bit especially with people having no luck in cancelling that package so she called the bank to see what could be done.
After explaining everything to them they tried (unsuccessfully) to dispute the charges. They were forced to list it as fraud and then canceling our CC. All of this of course confirmed that we did the right thing even though we sent the cancellation notice well within the 3-business day time frame. As of now we have not heard anything and I really doubt that we will.
Finally here is the takeaway. We had a great time in Petoskey, MI (Boyne Mountain). It is a beautiful area and we will definitely go back. I have no real complaints with the $199 trip and would say that it was a great value because we never could have stayed there for that price. We got a lot of gift cards that we have used and a cruise voucher that I hate to say we will not use. It really is not a free cruise when you read all of the fine print and start adding up the cost of a cruise vs the fees.
Under no circumstances would I even consider buying into this club. Although it sounds great there seemed to be fees for everything on top of the maintenance fees that they talk about. You still have to pay for travel and other expenses (not to mention the RCI part which of course has a fee associated with it) and after reading what others have said I am convinced that this is the right decision. I gave them two stars because we did have a great time (after getting out of their presentation) and I had no real complaints with the hotel and the trip in general. Otherwise it would be one star.

Tried to call TRAVIS our salesman and guess what? That number is disconnected. Thanks Travis for your lies. Bluegreen Vacations has taught you well on how to lie, cheat and steal. My husband visited Bass Pro Shop Oct. 2014 and purchased the $199 package as a birthday gift for me. From now on I will TELL him what I want. It sounded good & I knew we had to sit through a presentation. We set up the trip to New Orleans for Sept. 2015, in fact, we just returned. We were told we would be in the St. James in the French Quarter. Hubby even confirmed this and no one told him differently.
The day before we left, we got the bait & switch and were put in the Holiday Inn, Gretna. He lodged a complaint and was told he would get a Bass Pro gift card. The HI is nice enough, good room, but the AC was noisy. We asked it to be fixed but it never was. Maybe if we had been actual paying guests it would have been. We checked in Friday night and the presentation wasn't until Monday, good enough. Sunday night, hubby started reading reviews from this site and I was nervous but we kept an open mind.
My hackles were first raised when they wanted my driver's license, "to verify who I am." Ummmm... ok. I think they wanted a credit card but she said it wouldn't be charged, Hubby must have given it to her. Time for the presentation. Matt came to get us and he is very nice but I felt like I was being grilled from the get go. He said it's not high pressure and he wouldn't have taken the job if it was, and he wasn't high pressure at all. That was left to his supervisor who would pop in and out when he knocked for her.
Finally, after 2 1/2 hours, I had enough and the day was wasting. To be honest, hubby likes to talk. Anyway, I pushed for a price. $31,000! NO! NO! NO! I sat there a couple more minutes while they & hubby talked, the sword fighting thing. I finally stood up and pushed my chair in. They didn't look at me anymore but sparred with hubby. I shook their hands, said thank you, told hubby to have fun and I walked out. I walked to Jackson Square and never looked back.
If you are reading this, chances are you've already bought the "vacation" but if you go to the presentation and don't want to purchase, don't explain anything to them, they have an answer for everything you say. Just stand up, shake their hand, say thank you and WALK OUT! Hubby finally caught up with me and I had worried him, and Matt. So I hope Matt comes to his senses and gets out of there himself.

We found out when I made the reservation, so we booked the hotel, we get to the hotel, checked in, put our stuff in the room, go downstairs to check into Bluegreen - they upgraded our hotel to “a very nice one” (not, looked nice on the outside but in the room, it smelled, was dirty). They were VERY pushy and rude by trying to get us to buy! The lady would tell us “don't you want more family time? You will never go if you don't do this now,” “is your family not worth this,” **. Now for the hotel, the first hotel charged us for the hotel that we did not stay in! Trying to get a hold of them and they won't return my phone call. Second hotel has not processed yet, so we will see! We just went September 18-20th.

We called and booked our vacation for La Pension resort. Today we received an email stating we would be staying at the Holiday Inn not the resort we paid for. I called and unfortunately the resort is booked (because so many people vacation at the END of September) so we have no choice but to stay at the hotel. The people on the phone were extremely rude. They did offer to move our reservations to a different date... after I explained to them we are eloping and this was our honeymoon! We aren't even going their presentation. Why on earth would buy anything else from them? FYI if you want people to buy from you don't start out with lies and deception!

We were given the opportunity to get a free vacation (you pay $199 but then get that money back in gift credits after you hear their timeshare presentation) when we booked a reservation with Choice Hotels. The scheduling process was difficult as there was not a lot of availability for the weeks we wanted. At first they tried to put us in a local hotel (not the resort) and we said no. Either they accommodate us at the resort or we were canceling. They said they would try and would call us back. To our surprise, they called the same day and found us a room so we agreed. (BTW: The fine printed stated that our accommodation would be "near" the resort so they did not bait and switch. However I was very clear that I would not be buying anything unless I actually stayed at the resort.)
Resort at Shenandoah was very nice. Very quiet and peaceful which was what we were looking for. The lodging room was tidy but small. The sales presentation started out well but then quickly became a waste of time. The presentation was designed to run as many people through as possible rather than focusing on people (like us) that were potentially interested in buying. The noise level was so loud that I could not hear and our sales person wisely moved the meeting outside (since the day was beautiful). After wasting an hour, we were able to focus and get our answers met.
Key factors for us: No required week at a specific location or specific week (we don't want to be locked down and then forced to "trade weeks"); BG only uses points for everyone so that works for us. Reasonable maintenance fees (some are necessary or the properties will fall apart over time); the amount was not bad and reasonable for the value. Availability of units (we actually had a member go online and show us what was currently available at places where we're interested in); check - no immediate availability but plenty when you go out a couple of months
The net was that we ended up buying a small package of points to try it out and see. If we like the model and properties over time, then we may buy more later. We are also considering buying more points on the second-hand market. Looks like a bunch of people on this site are trying to give their points away so maybe we can help them out. For now, we are happy and look forward to more BG vacations.

The end of July we took our family for their first trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. We went to a local go kart place and were sucked in to sit through a seminar with a promise of a gift card and free 7 day trip and we only had to pay taxes. You pay $20.00 that will be refunded when show up. (If I was smart I would have just let the $20.00 go). My husband and I went and watched the entire "show". It all seems very wonderful and just like sharks every family was assigned their own salesperson. I wanted the bottom line how much??? We had a young salesman by the name of Doug and there was an older gentleman, Tony that was getting involved to help really lock us in. I was very leery about the entire thing, but every time I tried to sort of back out we were promised with more stuff. Another 6 weeks free. For 8,000 bi-annual points they told us the payments would be for 10 years about $138.00.
Toni said because we had good credit Wells Faro had a program that we could apply for for about 1% interest. I said "I didn't know how to do that." "I will help you, we can't just send you out there. We would get in trouble for that." Well they sure did send me out there with no help!! He was supposedly gonna call me in a couple days and we NEVER heard from anybody! They financed us money and then opened 2 credit cards. They barely left us alone to talk by ourselves. I asked what happens if we no longer wanted it. I was told just to have them sell it for $39.00 fee. The only person that we got a card from was the lady that worked up the papers. After we agreed then they throw in about the maint. fees and dues.
I was upset about that and they said I should never have to pay it because you use the credit card and earn points. Or you give a referral and if someone purchases I would get $500.00. If we ever had to pay the maint. fees out of pocket "we are using it incorrectly". So we sign the papers and I guess it's our own fault for being trusting. She would give a brief description of the paper and tell us where to sign. All I wanted to do was get back to my kids and enjoy last day of my vacation. So when I got home I looked over the papers and discovered the only payment in writing I had was the $3,450.00 they financed interest free. The payment was over a 10 yr period for around 17% interest. Where was the rest of the payment because that was only $57.00 of the $138.00 they told me about. They was all bull because the other $9,000.00 was on two different credit cards.
How the heck can they estimate payment on that?! They can't so they lied!! Those cards are interest free for 6 months and then the interest goes up to about another 17%. So NOW I on my own with no help of them realize I'm screwed and start to make phone calls. I called the lady who did the paperwork (the only person that gave a card) and she never returned my call. I called SC sales office and talked to whoever answered the phone expressed how upset I was and she said nobody was around and emailed a couple people to get back to me. They NEVER called.
I called a main number at Blue Green and she said we weren't in the system yet and it takes 45-60 days. I expressed how upset I was and she said in SC we have 5 days to cancel. I said I didn't know that and she said, "well you signed it at the closing". Sure enough I did, but it wasn't said when we were signing the papers. My 5 days were passed by about 2 days. Now stuck taking out a personal loan for 5 yrs with payments double what I thought. That I can't afford! I called again today and nobody has called me yet. I don't even know how to look at my account I have no log in.... nothing!! I am so sick over this and sorry I ever agreed to it. I just want out.

I would be in a hotel not a resort, I wasn't going to be on the beach, I wouldn't know what hotel I would be in until 2 weeks before my trip, I wouldn't know if it was available until 2 weeks before I arrive so it's possible your vacation could be ruined. I asked for a refund because of the lies I was told and they denied it because I had 30 days to cancel. They offered me a complimentary extension of 1 yr and said I could transfer my vacation to someone else. I was not going to let them take my hard-earned money.
This is what I did to get my money back: 1st ask to speak with a manager not a supervisor, you will get bounced around so before you even speak ask for their title until you get a manager on the line. When you get the manager tell them your issue, ask for a full refund, tell them you are going to file a complaint with the BBB, attorney general, dispute the charge, write negative reviews on social media, go up to your local Bass Pro Shop to tell them about their shady practices and seek legal representation if you don't get refunded now. You will get a full refund and keep the gift card for your trouble. We love to travel to Florida for March break so I made sure that this deal applied to March break. I was assured that it did. The sales person was very misleading. He described the "resort" and amenities and it sounded amazing. Shortly after I paid I called to book my resort vacation only to be informed that I wasn't eligible to stay at the resort. My package was for a hotel "close" to the resort. Moreover, we were required to travel from our hotel to the resort for the 90 minute sales presentation, and, by the way, we were not permitted to use any of the resort facilities.
When I told the customer service rep that we wanted to stay at the resort, he said it would be an additional $200. Ok. In my mind that's still a pretty good deal. However, if we wanted to upgrade we weren't allowed to travel during March break. What happened to no restrictions? The entire reason I bought this deal was to take the family to a resort over March break. The Orlando resort looks great and my wife and I were so excited about this vacation but the customer service was so terrible and unaccommodating that at this point I'm inclined to just walk away from the $199 and never ever deal with this company again.
We had a great family vacation at a different resort in Orlando last year. I think we will just go back there. After my horrible experience I took some small consolation from the fact that I could leave a review of my experience to warn others only to realize there are hundreds just like it already. We waited and waited and waited only to call back the following month to find out they could not give us the card because it expired. Okay forget the card, give us our $50. The point is they had no problem with taking the money out of our account and in their records they see that we were refunded partial and not the whole thing. I would not recommend this company to anyone. This is bad consumer service. All we ask is give us our money back.

I originally signed up for information through Bass Pro Shop. I was hesitantly interested. I talked to them in the store and extensively over the phone. They were pushy, and wanted to give me the deal only if I signed up while I was on the phone. Ultimately they offered me a cruise, 2 $25 Bass Pro gift cards and 3 day 2 night stay at Wisconsin Dells for $99. Even the day before going up to the Dells, they refused to tell me what resort we would be staying at.
When I had to cancel due to external circumstances the day of, supposedly Tour and Travel was not available the day of check in, and Bluegreen staff was at best ill-informed. They said that Tour and Travel would reimburse me the $75 cancelation fee if I rescheduled on Monday, when they were in the office. I called in on Monday and was met with anger at the suggestion I would be reimbursed. I told them that this has been more trouble than it was worth. I told her that I didn't want the package, and Brittany snidely informed me that I wouldn't get charged the cancelation fee of $75, but I wouldn't get my original $99 back and she hung up.

We started our vacation by getting to FL and headed for our rental car, which Melinda at Bluegreen helped me make the reservation. I asked for a full size SUV and she rented me a mid size. They wanted to put a family of 6 in a Rav4. That wasn't happening and after an hour of being on hold trying to get someone from Bluegreen to help - we were offered a pick up truck. Finally got to the resort which was very nice - but you get what you pay for! Our room was in building 7 and was ok. It looked clean but the one queen bed had a noticeable "rut" in the middle of the bed. We left for Sea World the next day and came back to water all over our kitchen floor, stove and counter tops. We called maintenance and they couldn't find a leak so - oh well, that was that.
We did find small white mites crawling all over the counter tops and they were nice enough to come and spray the floor as they could not spray the counter tops. They never offered to move us or help us in any way. The next day we went out and came back to our front door open. Maintenance must have been in and didn't close the door tightly. Luckily - nothing was missing - we were lucky. Then it rained and a river came in under the front door. There was a gap near the bottom of the front door - it just didn't seal. Called maintenance and was told they were very busy because of the storm - just throw some towels down. Never heard from them again - they did come and drop a bag off for us to put the wet towels in though.
The resort seems very nice - most people are nice but no one cares. If you have a problem - good luck trying to get someone to care. We enjoyed our time in Orlando but not at the resort. We're afraid to cook or leave any food around as the white mites just kept crawling around! Just glad I didn't bring any home. They really want you to listen to their seminar - we didn't have to because we lived in MD. But they kept trying to get us to listen and every time I said no they tried to take away another "incentive" so that we would go listen. Like I said - you get what you pay for. We will not be going back to any kind of Bluegreen resort.

False advertisement. I purchased a vacation getaway so I thought. I paid for a getaway in Myrtle beach with Bluegreen resorts. I received my welcome letter stating how they would like to show me how to enjoy a flexible vacation lifestyle through timeshare ownership with Bluegreen resorts. Well there is nothing about a standard hotel room that says vacation resort. I was told when I purchased my packet I would have a suite. The gentleman that sold it to me assured me it would be a suite and even gave me his cell phone number if I had any problems. Well needless to say I would not advise anyone to do business with them PERIOD.

My husband and I were told we must attend a 90-minute presentation upon our arrival at The Fountains in Orlando last summer. What was supposed to be 90 minutes, turned into over 7 hours. Every single time we went to leave, we were given another option that was lower. Let me just tell you what we all we were told within that amount of time. We were told that we could rent out our unlimited bonus nights for profit and use that profit to pay our maintenance fees and monthly payments. We were told that if we left to think it over, our price wouldn't be good after we walked out. We were told what a great investment that it was and how we could refinance it at our home bank for a lower interest rate. We were told that we could use our points (only 6k biannual) and be able to take 2-3 weeks of vacation per year.
We weren't told anything about club dues, only maintenance fees and we were also told these would not increase, EVER. We weren't told how long we had to cancel and after 7 hours, I was on auto-pilot and just wanted out and to see my kids! We were told that we HAD to attend an owner orientation and had to pay money to reserve our spot. By this point, we had a lot of questions we wanted to ask because we were slowly figuring out that none of what they told us, the BIGGEST reason we bought it was true. The owner orientation was just another sales pitch, in which we had learned our lesson the first time but still managed to spend over 5 hours there.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB, they denied it and since they will not resolve my complaint, the BBB administratively closed the complaint because we weren't getting anywhere. I have contacted my state as well as the state of Florida, the FTC, and many more. I have so many people busting their butt on this. My state has agreed to take my case and mediate the issue with them, but I'm taking it a step further. I have started a petition on change.org, the more signatures I get, the better. The state told me that if there were enough complaints filed with the Attorney General, that it will no longer be a civil matter and a class action lawsuit could take place. Here's the link, maybe we can get something done. What they do is completely illegal and they break numerous laws, daily. This needs to stop!!

Do not get involved with Bluegreen vacations. Went to their "no pressure" sales presentation which consisted of, "We're offering you this special price which you can only get by signing here today. Once you leave, we can never offer this deal again". These people gave me the creeps from the get go but one, I had questions and two, I knew that I had a while to get out of the deal if I came to the conclusion after careful review of the details, that this was NOT a good deal. I could write you a book on the half-truths these people tell you but here's one: When I asked about what happens to points when they aren't used right away, the answer I got was, "great question! If you don't use them, your points roll over (for a fee around $35). That way you don't lose your points."
Well, not really true. Once rolled over, the points are immediately discounted as in they are only good for certain seasons and if they aren't used in the second year, they're gone. Like I said, there's more. After I discovered the deception in the details and did the math I decided that this was a mistake. The contract clearly stated that I had 15 days to get out of the contract. Of course they don't discuss this with you while you are there, but it's in the contract. I called on day 15 and they tell me that the deadline was 10 days. Why? Well it seems that there is a stipulation in the law that says if they show you a sample of their properties and you "inspect the property" while at the preview center, the cut off to cancel is reduced to 10 days from signing.
I was deeded a property in FL. I didn't inspect that property. And the "mock cabin" they have set up on the property. You look at it. It's nice. Did I inspect the cabin? No. And what percentage of their resort properties are even like this cabin? This cabin they show you is irrelevant. Unfortunately, legally it's very relevant. I can't believe I missed the deadline. I can't believe I signed that paperwork. I can't believe I didn't follow my instinct. Follow your instinct and Do not make the mistake I made.

I gave them a deposit of $198 in good faith and received an email receipt in January 23rd, 2015. About 10 days later I received an envelope (mailed by them on January 29th) with a small brochure, welcome letter and a voucher for check-in at South Mountain Welcome Center in New Hampshire for August 3rd, 2015. We made plans with friends to travel to New Hampshire to enjoy the opportunity to hear about BlueGreen Vacations and enjoy their facilities. July 18th I received an email from Bluegreen Vacations to call their 800 number to confirm our reservations! I called immediately and was given a confirmation number ** after being on hold for several minutes.
Then the young lady said she needed to ask me a few 'qualifying' questions. Was I legally, married, divorced or single? I answered honestly, "I am legally separated." She then disqualified me from coming to their resort. I said "fine then just give me a $198 refund." She said they could not do that as the 30 days had passed. I said they did not ask me that question originally and if they had I would have been honest and they would not have gotten my $198 deposit. She said they would replay the tape from that original conversation in January and could I please hold. I said "certainly."
I held for some time while she listened to the whole January initial conversation with Bluegreen Vacations. She then told me I was correct. I had not been asked the question about "married, divorced, single" status and referred my call to customer service for refund. Customer Service put me on hold to find a supervisor. They finally came back on the line and said that they could not reach a supervisor to get approval for a refund but would call me back with the status of the refund within 24 hours.
Sunday and Monday passed and finally this morning (July 21) I decided to call Bluegreen Vacations back to find out the status of my $198 refund. I was told by "Sno" that I did not qualify for a refund because I was asked if I was "married, single, divorced" and I asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was then transferred to Annette **. She and I went round and round. I told her this was unethical business practice and I would expect a refund. I was never asked prior to making a $198 deposit whether or not I was married, single or divorced. I gave that deposit in good faith. I was never provided any email or other written material stating that I had to be married, single or divorced to participate in their "VACATION PLAN" until Saturday, July 18th. Will I get a refund? I will take every legal and ethical means to get that money back. This is not over yet.

We have been a Bluegreen owner since August 2013 & have only been on 1 vacation. Every time we try & book there is no availability. You can't book a vacation 1 year out like they say. Our points expire every September. You have to pay to roll over your points every year if you don't use them. If you want to transfer them to RCI there is another price or they aren't worth transferring them. The customer assistance is not worth talking about because they don't know what the definition of customer assistance is. We have not had a returned or e-mail or phone call on our dissatisfaction.
When we purchased this in Branson Missouri we were specifically asked where our vacations would be mostly taken. We told them the Caribbean 100%. They should have told us then don't purchase your mortgage here in Missouri, you need to purchase it from one of the Caribbean conferences. We did not find out this until after our purchase and our 2nd meeting with them. When we went to Aruba we were told since our mortgage was deeded in Missouri, we don't get priority bookings in the Caribbean. In order for us to get priority booking in the destination we specifically told them we would be staying at from day 1 we would have to spend more money to transfer our deed.
If we don't get a returned phone call this week of July 2015 we will pursue further actions..... FRAUD is all I can say. Fox 4 and channel 11 would love to uncover the biggest scam ever.

I signed up at a Bass Pro Shop in our area for a 4 night stay at any Bluegreen Resort, "anytime" -- no restrictions. I had to pay $199, and go to a 2 hour preview session regarding Bluegreen's property ownership. From the beginning I had a problem booking for the dates I wanted. I went back to the store where I purchased the package to get help. The manager at the store was very helpful. He got on the phone with a manager, got the dates we wanted booked, and assured me I would hear from someone by the end of that day with all of the details.
Needless to say, not only did that day go by without me hearing anything but 2 more days did as well. I called that same manager that had been so helpful. It was his day off but he still helped me. He gave me the manager's name and number so I could call to find out what was going on. When I called, the manager I was told to talk to was off. However another manager helped me and said I was booked for the Crown Reef in Myrtle Beach for the dates I requested.
After a 3 hour drive, we arrived at the Bluegreen Welcome Center and attempted to check in. A packet wasn't made up for us and when they looked in the computer our reservations were for a Comfort Inn (a "few miles" from the beach); not the Crown Reef and surely not a BG Resort. I immediately lost it. They managed to get us in a Marriott. My problem with this is that I had already shown my kids pictures of the Crown Reef on the beach. After 2 hours in the Welcome Center, talking to different managers via phone, we finally agreed on 1 night at the Marriott and then we would move to Crown Reef.
At this point day 1 of our vacation was gone as far as any beach time. We were also told that because of everything, our Marriott reservations would include breakfast the next morning -- big surprise it didn't. We then packed our stuff, checked out (in time not to get charged tax a 2nd night) and went to Crown Reef. By time we got checked in day 2 of our vacation was more than 1/2 over. Now on day 3 we had to go to the preview. The preview that was supposed to take no more than 2 hours lasted 4+ hours. So day 3 was also now more than 1/2 way gone. So our great vacation was a nightmare and we sure didn't get 5 days.

Also, they offered a $25 gift card that day to us if we signed up and they will give us $75 in gift cards when we stay at the resort. We took advantage of the great deal.
We stayed at Club 36 in Las Vegas, NV. They told us that we had to sit for a timeshare lecture and it would take 1.5 hours. We were there for 4 hours! They tried and tried to convince us to purchase a timeshare. My fiance explained to them that we just can't afford it. He explained that he had injured his back at work and we were living paycheck to paycheck. Then the rep asked us, "We'll, if you are living paycheck to paycheck, then why are you on vacation now? It's obvious you can afford it."
Then my fiance explained, "We have been saving money little by little and we are in our way to Oregon (we drove from NM) for a family reunion and a graduation." The rep said he was sorry for the injury and offered a smaller package. We would get 6000 points bi-annually and it would only be $128/month. He worked his magic by saying we can go deep sea fishing, showed cabins that we could stay in, etc. My fiance got excited and went forward with the decision to sign up.
Before the closing, there were a lot of paperwork we had to sign. One was paying an annual fee of around $90 for maintenance fees. I recently received a bill in the mail for $600.00 for the maintenance fees! I can't afford that, we are still dealing with my fiance's back injury and he has no income coming in. I decide to sell the timeshare and had to sell it through Pinnacle Vacations. I had to pay a $39 fee to post the timeshare up on the listing! Not only that, they posted the amount for $3000.00 more than I originally requested. I have heard so many complaints and seen the way they treat other people. I'm thinking about getting a class action lawsuit going. Please email me if you want to join me on it.

He specifically went on and on to my husband pointing out that the room on the screen was exactly the room we were getting plus 75.00 gift card after a quick tour all for 199.00 for the 4 days. Regretfully my husband purchased the package.
Fast forward to July 2015. We book our trip, arrive to the "Fountains Resort" welcome center only to find a small office in the middle of a plaza. We say "hmmm this doesn't seem right". We go in anyway and are greeted by Bluegreen vacation "specialist". At the counter we are told we are not booked for the Resort but are actually staying at the Fairfield Inn. Of course we were angry. We demand to speak to a manager. No manager onsite so we have to call customer service. I begin the convo by explaining to Adriana (supposedly a manager) that this is a bait and switch scam. Fairfield Inn is not the Resort they promised we were staying in. I explain that now my 199 vacation has costed me 300.00 bc it has been upgraded. I paid an extra 100 to come in a day earlier and after 2 1/2 hours of arguing profusely w/ Adriana we are told there is nothing she can do.
She says there are no rooms available at the resort but then she tells me to bring the paperwork from the day we signed up for the deal and if I can do that then she could possibly find us a room!!! We demand to speak to her manager and are transferred to Johan who now I have to explain the whole story too and he tells us there's nothing he can do but says if we take the tour he can give us another gift Card of 75.00. My husband then explains to Johan that had we known we were staying in a basic hotel we would've just booked a regular hotel where we wouldn't have to do a tour. My husband also points out to Johan that we feel duped and now will not believe anything they say on this tour not to mention the point of staying in the resort is to see for ourselves all the amenities this grand resort offers.
Needless to say we had no choice but to stay at the Fairfield Inn which I must admit was not so bad but again I could've booked this room on my own and would not have to tour and waste 2 hours of my time. But the most jaw dropping moment of all was getting to the hotel and being told we also have to pay 20.00 a day for incidentals and also have to pay 50 + dollars in taxes for our stay at this hotel -- whatever happened to only 199.00??? Buy now or never get the offer again by law.. The following fall we went to the laurel crest site at Pigeon Forge. Went to another meeting to get us to upgrade and be owners and told them we did not want to buy. This was a low pressure sales. We signed the papers and left. Due to being lied to many times our sampler was adjusted to allow the use of our points we went again in the spring.
Once again we were required to go to a meeting and the pressure was on, we were there for almost 5 hrs. and bought a small package of which we regretted almost from the time we walked out the door. This goes against the LAW that we could only be offered this one time and one time only. We even signed the paper saying we declined the offer and could not be offered it again. If this place was on the up and up it would have used a mortgage company instead of putting it all on a credit card or 2 at high interest..... All the things we were told was a crock and was distorted.
The able to go anywhere any time was untrue as booking was difficult and almost impossible at most places unless there was a possibility of 3 foot of snow. The "property that we bought would go up in value really has no value to speak of. Condition of the rooms varied from very nice to piss poor. This past week we went once again and talked with our "handlers" and were informed that the problem was that we owned too few points and needed to buy more to get the most for our buck.... We vacationed with Bluegreen last year and it was excellent! We were so excited to do it again. But a week before we are supposed to go on our trip they cancelled our trip claiming we are traveling too soon. Even though we booked it months ago and No one said anything! We've spoken to several booking agents over the past two months confirming different aspects of our vacation and not one person said anything about our travel dates.
I cannot believe a company would be so unprofessional! Our kids were devastated that their beach trip was taken away from them. The company supervisor, **, said because I'm a teacher I should've investigated the details better! Of course I investigated the details - it just said some black out travel dates could be restricted during booking. DURING BOOKING! Not 7 days before your check-in date! They are horrible! They didn't even try to make this better! Please please do not vacation with this company. They don't care about you or your family.

So please beware, it's not as good as the sellers pretend it is!!!!

My name is ** and I live in Charlotte, NC. My wife and I been married for 25 years. Five years ago we purchased 65,000 Bluegreen annual points. We have traveled more in the last 5 years through Bluegreen than we did during our first 20 years of marriage. We love Bluegreen. The staff at the call center as well as the staff every resort we have been to have always been very helpful and pleasant. I have read many of the complaints on here and well frankly most don't make any sense. No they won't let you out of a contract and why should they. It's a contract. Society couldn't function without rules. If you make an contract, an agreement, you should keep to it. Perhaps you should read things before you sign them, I did.
I find the Bluegreen's owners website easy to use. We book most of our travel on the site without the need to call the 1-800 number. But when we do call they are always helpful and I mean always. In fact I would say they have the nicest customer service I have ever spoken with. The call center is located in the USA and they always speak English. We go on about 3-4 trips per year. This year for our spring trip we went to New Orleans. Beautiful, newly renovated there, close to everything. Currently at this moment we are at Myrtle Beach at the Shore Crest Villas. Awesome place. Later this year we will be going to Big Sky, MT.
We were fortunate and paid cash for our points. Our only expense is the maintenance fees (fees paid to keep up the building, cleaning, insurance, etc). We pay approximate $0.055 cents per point. Example: Our current trip for 4 nights in a two bedroom ocean front cost 2,900 points for the entire stay. That means I paid $160 in maintenance fees for the entire stay, that's $40 per night for a very nice 2 bedroom ocean front room in a great location. I recommend Bluegreen without any hesitation. I do not work for Bluegreen or have any association with them. We are a real family and everything I have said in this post is factual.

We have been Bluegreen owners for several years, and each year gets worse for booking reservations. I wanted to give my grandson and his fiancee Bluegreen nights as a wedding gift. I find there is no availability for the nights I wanted. My grandson (as a non-owner) can get online and book rooms through Bluegreen Rentals. I can't use my points because non-owners are renting these units beforehand. If I don't however, used points by the end of my physical year, I will lose any that have not been used for two years. If I don't use my points that I accumulated in 1 year, I have the option of paying Bluegreen to buy these points back.
How can you use your points when there is no availability because "renters" are taking the slots? When we joined Bluegreen, our yearly fees were about $350 per year. Now, they have jumped to $700.00 per year. I WOULD NOT advise ANYONE to purchase from Bluegreen. Their units are clean and nice. IF YOU CAN GET ONE!!!

We bought our Blue Green at Myrtle Beach while in Las Vegas. We bought under the understanding that points were convertible with Wyndam and RCI. We received a bonus of 10,000 points "useable any place, anytime Blue Green has properties." It was crock. It wouldn't be such a rip off if it didn't take such an astronomical number of points to stay anywhere. We have to accumulate two years of points to stay where we could have paid half the price in cash! Stay away!!!

We also were pressured into the Bluegreen sale at Myrtle Beach. After the sale/transfer... or whatever happened, they changed. It was an increase in price and higher maintenance fees. It HAS been several years, but we let them take it back. We are now with West Gate Resorts, and it is much like Bluegreen was before the "sale". We are going to go to Florida with a group of 20, 4 units secured and not much money involved. Full family get-together. I am very excited for it. Bluegreen lost out. Too bad, because at first, I really loved it.

My spouse and I traveled to Myrtle Beach in July of 2014 - bought Bluegreen - was made promises, how we could use our points, when we could use the points, carryover, even how to stay in Hawaii for $200.00. We were informed there would be a one day class in the fall in Branson, MO to educate us on how to best use our new purchase. In October of 2014, we did go to Branson, thinking we were really going to learn more, etc. The whole day we were informed that the purchase in July was not enough points for us to do anything with, that to get the real "value" of Bluegreen we needed to invest another $10,000.00.
After much discussion, the salesman went to get the Supervisor, who again told us we really needed to pay the additional money, and that there is no classes on how to best use Bluegreen, that is what the 800 number is for. Recently we tried to book our first trip, and the website was a disaster, we had to call the customer service number and was made to feel "stupid", and informed they would help us this time! We are not impressed, and if we could find a buyer to buy us out of this, we would!

They talked us into more points so we could have all these added benefits. They did not disclose that all of these benefits have added fees. Their resorts are always booked if you cannot make a reservation ten months or eleven months in advance. They charge a fee for everything. If you trade there are resort fees above and beyond the cost of the exchange fees. It is an endless amount of fees that creates money for them, and empty pockets for the consumer.

Bluegreen will do whatever it takes to make a sale. They said you could roll over your points every year and take a dream vacation - lie. You can pay to roll your points over for one year, and then they expire. They also said that if you were not 100% satisfied that they would buy your contract back from you - another lie. The points are worthless. You are basically paying thousands of dollars a year to stay in a below par hotel for a week in the middle of winter. I am also very disappointed in Bass Pro Shops for being involved in such shoddy business practices. I feel like they committed fraud and should be liable for doing so. We need to band together and file a class action suit. Alone we might not make much noise, but together we could not be ignored anymore.

Have two situations -- Harbor Lights, Myrtle Beach; and a hotel in Greenville, SC. A letter was sent canceling the contract, mailed certified, return receipt. The salesperson, **, called and told us that there was no way they could send that letter to the head office (The head office in Florida received it). Wanted me to take a picture with my phone and rescind the cancellation letter. I did take a picture but said that the only way we would think about purchasing was with the 0% interest he had promised me.
We received two, yes two, credit cards in the mail. I destroyed them because we didn't want more credit cards. Somehow, Barclay called, I think, and I told them we had not applied for credit cards and this was when I was informed they were for the timeshare. Interest rate was 24.99% APR for my husband with a small amount on it, and 13.99 APR for me with the bulk of the money on it. I disputed this with Barclay which took approximately 6 months. Waste of time except I had two employees tell me to keep fighting this because their hands were tied. Now, we have or had excellent credit...749 now...and 1/2 of my payments are going for interest. I am telling you this because I am going to refuse paying for this contract. Forward to 3/2014...
Invitation to attend an owner's update in Greenville, SC. Tried to decline and you who have been there know these people are really interested in feathering their nest and don't take "No" for an answer. We went and the end result was to purchase enough points to get us to the Silver level because this was supposed to make it easier to get a reservation.
I gave them my Discover card. Downpayment was put on that card. Discover called within the month to tell me that someone had used my card to purchase over $400 worth of merchandise; therefore, they were going to cancel that card and send out another. They did and I tried to contact the sales people at Mountain Loft to tell them. No one would talk to me and no one would return my call. Next thing I knew, my bank account was being drafted with a high interest rate. That was cancelled a few days ago because I did not sign the paper for bank draft at that time or ever that I can remember.
I contend the papers are being modified by copying signatures or taking signature documents and modifying them to say what Bluegreen wants to say. I know it was for the rescind phone message. Meanwhile, high maintenance fees are due; can't get a reservation even with my points. High interest rates are killing our finances and no one will reduce them or talk to us.
A packet came in the mail and it contained papers for a Lake Eve...our only ownership now. I have never heard of Lake Eve until this and it is not listed in Bluegreen Club Resorts where you make reservations (or try). Action now is to stop all payments. I cannot rate these people based on anything than what I have experienced. I got a call from these people that I had won a vacation and cruise, both me and my 3 friends entered the drawing hoping one of us would win. All 4 of us got called saying we won the vacation. (My guess is they call everyone who enters and offers them the same thing, making you think you won a 1 out of a million chance vacation.
They called me about a half hour before work, I am a substitute teacher walking into a new building on my cell phone and had never seen me before. I talked to BG for awhile before I asked if I could call them back. They told me that because of fairness, if I decided to call them back later I would forfeit my winnings and would only be offered the same thing as everybody else, which is their wonderful services and great low price packages.
Well I told them my reasons for not being able to talk to them at the moment: that I was walking into a school as a sub teacher and couldn't be on my phone due to "image"; I needed to talk to my husband about it since it would be a charge randomly for $198 on his card and then I would have to explain it after the fact as to why I spent that money (of course he would think it was a scam so it would only cause an argument between us) and I was in a highschool with many kids around me, and I didn't feel safe giving out my CC number in the echos of the school hallway.
They once again told me that this was a one time call and if I didn't do it then, I wouldn't get the chance again. So I asked to be put on hold as I introduced myself to the staff of the school, with my phone by my side (obviously looked irresponsible, I hope it doesn't cost me my chances of subbing at that school again). I was quite embarrassed and a little annoyed. Next I got escorted to my room where I had about 3 minutes before my class would arrive. I told them I needed to hurry through the process.
Now I asked all the right questions to make sure it wasn't a scam, and there were a few red flags, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. So I gave my number and paid it. They told me I had 30 days to cancel it and get a full refund. I asked this question several times in different ways to make sure there wasn't anything I was missing. I would have looked them up online as I was on the phone with them, but I did not have access to a computer at that time.
As soon as I got home I called my girl friends to tell them I won the vacation from the mall, and they informed me that they too had won, that's when I looked them up online and found their reviews and decided to cancel the next day. I called them up and they didn't give me any problems about cancelling whatsoever. They asked me, to give them a reason and I told them I wouldn't be able to use the package. They once again told me that I could use it in up to a full year's time, and I told them that after talking with my husband, we decided we were not going to be taking any vacations this year.
She got silent on the other end and kinda just said "oh okay, well then I will give you your full refund and it should arrive in 4-5 business days." Then she asked if there was anything else she could help me with and I told her that perhaps she should look up their reviews online and think about changing the way they run the company because everything I found only gave them one star rating (mind you this was after I had guaranteed my refund, I didn't use this as the reason to get my money back because then they will talk to me forever to try and change my mind.)
She told me "We know about our reviews online and we know that most of our customers and clients are unhappy or upset with our services." Didn't even phase her, she brushed it off like it was nothing. Then she asked if there was anything else she could do for me today, I told her no, and she then thanked me for calling and reminded me that I could pass on my trip to a family member or friend if I wanted to. That was it, when I talked to them on the phone before I gave my card info, I told them I didn't like being pressured to give away my money just like that. They told me thy weren't trying to pressure anyone, but I know straight up that was a lie.
These people are very convincing and the initial call may not be a scam because they do refund your money and give customer service, but from reading all these reviews, it looks like the scamming starts after the 30 days are up to cancel, that's when you feel obligated to go so you don't feel like you wasted $200 for nothing. So if you have paid your fee, call and cancel it right now, the number I called was 1-800-818-6890 and say "cancel" then just tell them you won't be able to use the package in the amount of time they are allowing, they may try to extend the time frame or something (they didn't for me, but it's always possible). Just tell them, "thank you but we just won't be able to go." Any other information they don't need to know.
I told them I talked to my husband and he's the one who wants me to cancel, they couldn't argue with me because my husband isn't there to talk to and convincing me won't do any good (similar to the same tactic they used on me at the beginning phone conversation where they wouldn't let me call them back due to me wanting to discuss it with my husband.)

In April 2012 I was offered a "Sampler" 5000 point membership which I used for 2 years to book reservations in Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA without any difficulties. I really enjoyed stops in these two locations as rest stops from the long drives from my home in Illinois to my winter condo in Florida. In April 2014, I was asked to attend a briefing on changes and was told my reservation experience would improve with a higher point membership, plus I would also have access to RCI that has 10,000 properties worldwide. I stated I was not a traveler but did enjoy Blue-Green for my trips to my Florida condo and improved RCI availability would appear to offer more options.
However, as soon as I left the "Sampler" package available Blue-Green reservations in Savannah and Charleston mysteriously disappeared! It’s when I complained, someone from Blue-Green called to assist but they confirmed not only no reservations for Blue-Green but disclosed that SCI had absolutely zero properties located in those cities! I was totally mislead with false information on the benefits of my upgrade. One can only conclude they practice a bait and switch with "Sampler" given a higher priority as bait to make the sale. After you purchase a permanent membership your ability to book reservations mysteriously disappears?
Of course they have 30 pages of contracts to cover themselves and only a 10 day grace period for you to cancel so when you attempt to explain why you feel defrauded they have no answer except to keep sending the maintenance billings and tacking on late fees & interest while they block your further use of their reservations until you become current. That way, they have your money and they can open reservations up to other "Samplers" to defraud while they pursue collection against you. Nice racket and neither the Attorney General nor the Professional Licensing Agencies in Florida seem sure who is responsible for pursuing complaints against Blue-Green?
I feel I have exhausted all viable options because the Attorney General actually warned me against using advertised attorney and consumer advocate companies who are ripping off consumers in their frustrations with Time Share Companies. Does anyone else feel that a class action suit against Blue-Green should be explored? Unfortunately, the Attorney General of Florida has not been much help and referred me to Licensing Dept. who referred me back to the Attorney General as if no Agency understands who is responsible for consumer complaints and will act to protect the consumer from fraud.

While attending a so-called "owner update" at Bluegreen's Solara Surfside (Miami Beach,Florida), we encountered one of the slickest scams, that resulted in our loss of almost $7,000. Our attempts to have Bluegreen Corporation do a serious investigation have lead only to frustrating calls, and the company employee's failure to return promised calls after researching our complaint. My only hope now - to prevent others from falling prey to any sales pitch offered by this company, which obviously trains their sales department to relieve unsuspecting consumers of their cash.
This is our story. We have been Bluegreen owners for about ten years. It was not long into the first purchase that we knew we had spent money for a product/service that was never to be worth the immediate or long term expense. After years of trying to learn the tricks of the timeshare system, we did pick up some secondary market points from an unhappy owner for less than the year's maintenance fee. We knew this purchase could not be counted toward improving our level of ownership from what the company calls silver, even though that deed brought them a full price in the first purchase. We really dislike attending owner updates, since most are just a pressure to buy more points at a high point cost. But occasionally we attend to see what is new in the company. Up until now, we have remained strong in our determination not to be tricked.
On December 3, 2014 we were persuaded into another such "owner update" at Solara Surfside. This resort, like many other resorts in their network, really is a great place to visit. Most resort management teams have improved greatly over the ten years we have owned, thus creating an atmosphere of trust. However, lurking within is a sales team that finds something you want, and will promise anything, even knowing the result is not attainable. We repeatedly told Adam, the first salesman, and the real culprit...the "closer" Billy, we needed no more points. After over the hour period, Billy offers to combine our secondary points into one ownership, and raise us to Gold Status. He insists he was honest and had the power to achieve this for us. He said the supervisor would never condone lies or deceitful sales pitches.
Much discussion, and a so-called document that we never got a copy of, sealed our agreement. We paid top point price to get our ownerships combined and become "Gold". Many phone calls and two months passed before we found out we had been "had". Up the ladder of Bluegreen command we carried our complaints to no avail, with several failures to return our call with their findings. Finally, one of the owner service supervisors told us no one could change what had been done or help us at any level we attempted to reach. He was probably the only honest person I spoke to in sales or owners services. We were lied to, and just needed to accept the consequence of our financial loss.
Three months have passed, and my only hope is that I can one day look past this scam experience and again like or enjoy going to a Bluegreen Resort. We know we can never sell, but only rent out or give away our points. If you think this company really cares about owner happiness, better think twice before you walk into a owner update or sales meeting...unless you have money to give away to another sly sales team.

It's ok and you can go 3/20/15." Ok we're booking the date and I ask about the water park passes. They don't know what I'm talking about. There's no passes included and the representative on the phone said he'd look into it and after a week of me calling Luis directly and leaving messages with no return. I call again and speak to Crystal explain everything again. She checks in to my vacation and the date 3/20/15 was not booked by Luis, and was not open any more, and no other Fridays were open.
After another day of calling and fighting to get a Friday we couldn't miss work, they gave us 3/27/15. Ok then I look in to hotels. It's not 1 hotel. There are several and I couldn't pick what hotel we wanted. Some are not even in Boyne not all were available on that Friday. This isn't even half of the crap I received by this company, and yes if you stay at the upgraded hotel the Grand Mountain Inn and yes you have to pay more to stay at that hotel. And this is exactly what I'm going thru now. I too paid for the trip and showed the sales guy my card and was told it was ok to use it a Visa logo debit/credit card. Well BlueGreen has you sign and initial that you have a major credit card and even though I was told by sales rep it was ok, I signed. I had a major credit card. The children were able to have free access to the balcony which was 6 stories up. The key card they gave my husband not only unlocked our room but we found out by accident the neighbor’s as well. The floor was painted concrete cold and hard. The dryer was broken and would not automatically shut off. There were roaches in the kitchen and bathroom.
They try to force a timeshare sales pitch down your throat from check in very aggressively. We never use the pool because it was six buildings away! The staff is not only unavailable but completely obnoxious and unwilling to help. We ask that the issues with the room be address and they stated they would be or would change our room, then called back to say that they were to busy and overbooked to do anything. We book the resort based on a discounted price and after the check out date we had prepaid so they stated we had a zero balance. Two days later we received charges from the company that were not authorize and we had no receipt for. When we call the fountains they claim it was an 25% Marketing Tax which I am currently disputing through my card. This company is absolutely horrible and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! The list of grieves goes on, wish I had done my research.

Bluegreen's presentation is not what you get. They sell you resorts and then ask you to stay in a choice hotel. I called to get some clarity and didn't receive a call back until I was already in the middle of my vacation at Westgate Resorts purchasing a Real Timeshare that I can use.

Is there any way that all of us could come together and bring Bluegreen down? I'm pretty sure they told us all one thing, then we get bill after bill for who knows what. This is the biggest mistake of my life. They are such a joke and horrible people for talking people into things that don't even exist. Pretty sure you have to buy 1 million points in order to get a half decent place to stay in.

To all Bluegreen Owners who have been lied to/mislead - file complaints with the Attorney General’s office in the state you made your purchase and the state they deeded you property too, and also to the BBB, the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Federal Trade Commission - to both the states----where you made your purchase and where they deeded you property. Make sure you tell everything- be honest and follow through with it all. Hopefully (praying) someone will take action against this company and the way they conduct and do business. The Good Lord knows what they are doing to people who work hard for their money. They will answer one day for the wrongs they do here on Earth and hopefully they will suffer consequences while they are still alive for the lies and misrepresentations they have done.
Been a member, bought into the Vacation Club paid 8566.45 (paid in full - no mortgage). Paid dues and maintenance every year until the 2014 dues were due. I did not pay the dues since we have been unable to make a reservation for various reasons - (1) no vacancies available, (2) not enough points, (3) cannot use carryover points although I paid the fee to carryover, (4) must make a reservation eleven (11) months out, (5) reservation cancelled because a owner with higher ranked membership overrode - in other words we were unable to schedule and keep a reservation. Drove to Branson, and met with Reps from Bluegreen, solution was invest more money to obtain more points, we refused. Result - unable to secure a reservation unless in was at least eleven months out.
These six years has been a horror story which we totally want out of. Talked to rep on phone about forfeiting membership, was told they do not cancel memberships (in other words you are going to pay for this the rest of your life with no recourse) now who does that sound reasonable to? Sent letter relinquishing membership and all owner’s rights and privileges. I did not have any of this to begin with anyway - what am I losing. I am considering a class action lawsuit of which I will be the primary funder, if anyone else wishes to join, send me a e-mail to **, including email address and your first Initial and last name. Please no reps of Bluegreen, I have had enough of your BS. With your permission I will include this on a ad I plan on putting onto some national publications.

We (my husband and I) visited our local Bass Pro shop in Denham Springs, LA in December 2013. We were lured in to the sales booth and quickly agreed to purchase 3 of the $699.99 7 day vacation packages. One for our military cousins coming back from deployment, one for my parents, and one for ourselves. We booked our vacation (a 3 night stay at laurel crest in Gatlinburg, tn) a year later, even though it was after the expiration. We arrived exhausted and didn't like that we had to check in at BG center, then check in at resort to get keys, but arrived at a large, perfectly located Chalet. Dated but everything you could need including a beautiful view!
However we were not excited about the 2 hour presentation that we were required to attend our first morning after a 9 hour drive the previous day. I will say that it was very aggravating that the "120 minute" presentation turned out to be almost 5 hours start to finish. The sales pitch was good, but a little preachy but much too long! We then were assigned to a nice elder lady to complete the pitch process. I am a very upfront person and immediately told her we were interested and just wanted to know prices. I had to get very stern with her and insist that I did NOT want to sit through anymore sales pitch but just wanted prices. They were not pushy but definitely put on as to "how special your business is" when you know everyone around you is being offered the same thing.
They were very flexible and accommodated our budget with a very generous points package. By the end I was hungry, tired and really anxious to leave. But left feeling good about our purchase and they had already set up a return visit 1 month later, 4 nights/5 days in a cabin in Pigeon Forge. We arrived late, did an after hours check in (they had everything prepared and hassle-free). We arrived at our breathtaking cabin, and really was just beside ourselves! The only issue was the follow up appointment was at 8 AM the next morning! Not what you want to do your first day on vacation, especially when you have your 3 year old Tasmanian devil child with you lol. So we slumped out of bed at 7, got dressed and luckily drove the 2 miles to the resort.
We were a few minutes late but met with the most courteous and understanding people! They then handed us over to the nicest most knowledgeable sales rep named Beth. She took us to her private office that had a whole room connected filled with toys and snacks for kids and she spent over an hour chatting and answering all of our questions/concerns. They do try to have you upgrade your points package for a discounted rate which we did do -- we went from 7000 points to 15000 a year and it was too good to pass up. (but this vacation company will really only benefit people that have exponential money to spend...it doesn't guarantee free vacations). She showed us how to book online hassle-free and even walked us through our first vacation booking which took 7 minutes!! Awesome.
We left there and went to the original presentation area to redo the legal documents. Beth came with us and sat on the floor playing dinosaurs with our son for the hour we took there. She then recommended a fabulous restaurant and gave us her personal contact info for any questions. I honestly couldn't be any happier with our overall experience! We still have yet to experience the roll over points, bonus nights or paying the maintenance fees so I understand things could change, but so far I have 2 vacations planned, one for next month, and a family trip to Disney in September and couldn't be more excited!
I have read over 100 reviews so far and it all seems very shaky considering I just spent an exorbitant amount of money with this company so I'm hoping we fare better. I do think that a lot of people commit to these offers blindly by taking the "free deal" bait and are disappointed when it is too good to be true. But same as gambling the house always wins and if this company really gave away everything for free they would be bankrupt. You have to have enough money that it is a good deal compared to what you would normally spend on the same level vacation. You can't just expect that if you cannot afford to go to the Bahamas for a week normally, that buying this package will now magically allow you to go. It is to make vacationing less expensive and more realistic. Not just a lifetime of free vacations. Must go in with eyes wide open.

My wife and I just wrapped up a three-day stay at the Bluegreen "Resort" in Las Vegas. I'm writing this review to help others navigate the sales presentation. The sales process involves two phases: the group presentation, and the one-on-one session. The purpose of the group presentation is to familiarize you with the basics of the timeshare offer and to defang the normal objections they figure you already have. The one-on-one session is designed to answer any remaining objections you may have, and secure a financial commitment from you. While we may not like being sold to, I cannot really blame Bluegreen for trying to make a sale. Business is business. That said, if you don't keep faith with your customers, as other reviews here allege, that's not so good.
Anyway, for the uninitiated, here's a sales primer. The four basic sales objections are:
-- No money-- No hurry
-- No need
-- No trust
The salespeople at Bluegreen have crafted a sales process that seeks to dispel all of these. They already pre-qualified you by income when you signed up for your stay, so they feel the "no money" objection is pretty much off the table. They work hard to make themselves likable to you in the group and one-on-one presentations, hoping to eliminate the "no trust" objections. One of the ways they do this in the one-on-one is to play good cop/bad cop. The adviser is the good cop, while his/her sales manager is the bad cop. It's the good cop's job to soften you up, while it's the bad cop's job to close the sale. If you understand all this up front, your time with the sales team will be much less stressful.
The Bluegreen sales process comes down to crushing "no need" by extolling the virtues of vacationing, equating your love of vacations with your love for your family ("Think of the memories you'll make together!"), and "no hurry" by offering you an if-you-purchase-today offer. Your job, as a prospect, is to evaluate the offer. If it's for you, then sign up. If not, you need to create more sales resistance than they're willing to overcome. It's that simple. In actuality, it's a bit like fencing.
Personally, as a sales professional, I found the process to be too manipulative, filled with leading sales questions and other tactics. My wife and I dealt with the event by 1) declaring up front that we only had a fixed amount of time to spend with them before we had to leave for a scheduled appointment, and 2) connecting with the "good cop" salesman on a professional level, causing him to see me as a human being, not merely a "mark." It was fairly clear to them -- or ought to have been -- that we were not willing prospects. We were out of there in two hours, relatively unscathed.
Some other reviewers have complained that the sales session lasted several hours. I'll wager this happened because you made the mistake of offering some buying signals, such as asking about price or other details. If you offer these hard-closers any little hope of making a deal with you, they're going to run with it as long as they can. I'm not saying it's entirely your fault, should two hours turn into four or more, but you're not entirely faultless either. Be careful what signals you send these folks. They're very tuned in to any interest you show, much as a wolf is attuned to the movements of a young animal that's been separated from its herd. These are hard-closers, and will make use of ANY cues you send, be they intentional or otherwise. Don't be angry at the wolf; it's merely acting on its core impulses.
Lastly, there's an unspoken rule concerning objections among salespeople, which I'd like you to know. If I'm selling something, what I'm really trying to do is help my customer make the best decision for them. If I believe in my product, I'm justified in suspecting that their purchase of my product is the best choice they can make. (There are some salespeople who are honest enough to discern when a purchase is not warranted, and these folks are worth their weight in gold.) Naturally, customers have a few objections to buying, often because they simply don't have enough information. HOWEVER, if the customer understands the offer, and then *communicates the same objection more than once, using the same language*, that objection needs to be respected. It's the continual disputation after the second objection that gets customers angry. We've all been there.
The sales presentation I just lived through was literally filled with ignoring this principle, and would have been infuriating, had I not had the 25+ years of sales in my own professional background. To disregard a customer's legitimate objection is rude and unprofessional. I find it to be a hostile tactic. My response: after having my objection brushed aside for the fourth time, I angled my head down, staring fixedly at the center of the table. This was my hostile act, my statement that negotiations were done for good. From that moment on, it was over, and the Bluegreen folks knew it. I wasn't mad, but I wasn't happy either.
Anyway, I hope this review helps someone. Personally, I feel that the time-share offer from Bluegreen is oversold, meaning that they promise more than they can possibly deliver. The time-share idea is fine, provided you can accommodate the expectations of your owners. The fact that so many owners have trouble booking their trips is really all you need to know. The fact that you can buy someone else's Bluegreen deed for $10 or less on Ebay is the exclamation point.

At a resort presentation at the Smoky Mountain Preview center in Sevierville Tennesse we attended a timeshare presentation and overheard the so called Director of Sales tell his managers to "say whatever it takes and we will clean it up later." I actually asked who the boss was and the manager that was trying to get us to buy that was named John **, told us that it was not really important, and that we needed to stay focused.
After we saw John enter a office at the end of the big room we were in and laugh about what he was dealing with on as customers we heard the older man that was called Phil walk out and say "just do whatever it takes to get the deal and we will clean it up later." We later found out his name was Phil **. He had a red and frustrated face and was very shark like on the floor. He constantly seemed to be hovering over what he thought would be a sale for his managers. We asked to speak to Mr. ** and our manager John once again said he was not really needed for our presentation.
What really made me alarmed was when I heard Mr. ** tell John to express to another customer that they were approved for a Bluegreen credit card and that they would receive it in ten days. Then John said "yeah, but they were denied" and Mr. ** said "they won't know for ten days. Ask them to write a check for the down payment and tell them to pay themselves back when the credit card comes in." They actually laughed. OMG, this is criminal!

I washed the glasses and the cups that we used. The staff was wonderful very friendly and accommodating went out of their way to help and gave us good suggestions where to go for dinner. This was the Bluegreen Vacation Resort in New Orleans. Probably would not stay there again for the amount of money I paid for two nights.

As many others have said, we got "hooked" at Bass Pro here in Denver. Took the bait which was a free trip to Vegas agreeing to sit for the 90 minute presentation. Went there, presentation was packed, so we initially thought might not be a bad deal if so many people were interested. Was even "entertained" by an old comedian, Steve Young, who even autographed and gave us a CD "The Mimic". Supposedly a big name in Vegas. Have never seen him listed anywhere there but so what. So, Sat thru HIGH pressure ** for over four hour and finally gave in. It was like we were tag team opponents. When we got our backs up and had nerve enough to say we couldn't afford it (they had our credit card, of course), we would be introduced to another sales person. Even a very young man who claimed his dad owned the company worked on us.
Ok, so we finally got suckered in and had been taken to a suite of nice rooms in the hotel where we were staying and shown what we could avail ourselves of should we pick Vegas. Really big, roomy, pool table, nice individual bedrooms and baths. Snazzy upscale kitchen with all the bells and whistles. We thought, "Wow, we could come here with two other couples and have a really nice place to crash!" Never happened. Never was available. Heard many times, "I'll try to see what we can get for you in Las Vegas". Never happened!
As with many of the complaints about Blue Green, whose reps promised to ALWAYS beat the prices we could find on any vacation, never happened! We have always been able to beat Blue Green prices on the internet or with local travel agencies. So, why are we staying with them you might say? Good question. Guess we were slow learners or just don't like confrontation. Have tried to use our points to no avail. Ever! Nothing is available....EVER! Or wrong dates, or "possibly" a waiting list which is later avoided or the next person they transfer you to says they didn't ever have a waiting list. All lies, it would seem!
Well, now we are 68 yo, retired, and you'd think we'd get smarter, right?? Been making the payments like good little consumers every month and the steadily increasing maintenance fees each year. Initially for weeks, then months, we would call them trying to just get the additional 10000 points that they had given us a numbered certificate for just by calling when we got home. Called and called and called and called, ad infinitum. Some of the reps said there was no way we were given a certificate for 10000 extra pts. Everyone had their stories down and said, "We don't give certificates for free points or any points!" Many got hateful when we would push THAT issue. A couple of times I even remarked to my wife, "If they are so hateful and negative, why even keep this job they have?"
So, since wife used to work for a huge law firm in Denver and (here we go, you'll enjoy this) I was an investigator for over 20 years with a local law enforcement agency (think we'd have figured this out, right?) HAS ANYONE EVER CONSIDERED A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST BLUEGREEN BEFORE we all get smart, take the credit hit and tell the collection agencies to buzz off??? We may check with another attorney or two but, gosh, think of all the folks out there who are good little consumers and paying ALL that they owe every month?!? Bluegreen HAS to be making a small fortune off the backs of these honest Americans. I'll admit, taking the credit hit is something I do not want to do but as one other person (so far) has said considering their age and all, basically, what have they got to lose. We don't want to die and get our kids stuck with these leeches, that's for sure.
As I said, we are retired and live off SS and one retirement fund so we could definitely the $200+/mo and over a $1000 (now) a month for the maintenance fees. If you take the time to read this lengthy tirade, PLEASE don't give a dime to BG and surely someone has a good attorney anywhere in this country that would consider the money they might make, let alone all the thanks from us little guys, for taking up a CLASS ACTION SUIT. Maybe you can't do that on a scam by a vacation/time share group, but it would sure make one wonder. Any attorneys got scammed by these smooth-talking liars? Help!!

I was told, "6000 points every other year. Cost $8,350.00." We somehow ended up buying that package with a Barclay credit card that Bluegreen issued on the spot. On 10/11/14, my husband and I purchased tickets for Universal Studios from Bluegreen during our third stay at The Fountains resort in Orlando, our fifth stay with Bluegreen. On 10/12/14, we visited Orlando Studios only to find that larger guests were unable to ride 90% of the park’s attractions because chest size prevented the lap bars from closing. I am a very large chested woman and my husband has a barrel chest as well, so we were unable to participate in the fun that is supposed to be Universal. Extremely disappointed, we left only two hours into our unlimited 14-day tickets, knowing there was no reason to return.
We spoke with Bluegreen who said we would have to talk to Universal so we spoke to guest relations at the park who said they would be happy to refund our tickets. However, they were only able to refund us what they had received from Bluegreen. Universal did all they could do to correct the problem, ensuring their future business would not be impacted. But, Bluegreen, in a true show of corporate greed and profit-over-service, denied us any refund of their half of the profits. After months of trying to reconcile the issue through the Better Business Bureau and Bluegreen's corporate office, Bluegreen has still denied our request, an amount equal to two weeks of my salary but a grain of sand in their pockets.
I have been forced to contact a lawyer to fight for my money. Is it just greed or is there discrimination at play? I'm not sure, but a warning to any who intend to visit a Bluegreen resort: do not purchase attraction tickets! They want your money and care little to ensure your future business. This policy means no matter what extenuating circumstances arise, they will not help you if it means losing a dollar.

While I was on vacation, I received a call from one of the agents from Bluegreen Vacations. Her name was Kelly and she was really nice and friendly. She told me that I was selected as one of the "winners" from a drawing that I did at my local mall (which I recently did do one, so it made sense). She then proceed to tell me that all I had to do was purchase the vacation package for $198 ($99 per person for my husband and I) and when I go on my vacation, I will get a $200 visa card back, so basically, I was paying nothing for a vacation. Sounds great and all, right? So, I gave her my credit card information and was charged immediately. I asked her what if I changed my mind in the future and she told me that I have 30 days to get my refund back. She also told me that while I'm on my free vacation, I will have to attend one of their presentation about their products that would last 120 minutes and I'll get another free cruise vacation afterward. Okay. Why would I want to go to a presentation about their products on my vacation? Honestly, I skeptical at this point because why would I get charge for a FREE vacation that I had won?
Before she transferred me over to verification, she gave me her number and extension for me to call her if I had any questions; then she switch me over to a woman name Kristen for verification. While I was asking questions to verify what I was told, Kristen was getting really irritated and impatient with me. Customer service is really important to me when I'm giving you my business, so I was turned off by her attitude. I asked again what if I changed my mind in the near future and she repeatedly told me that I have 30 days to cancel and get my refund back. I also asked her if I had to attend the 120 minutes presentation while I was on vacation and she said I HAD to because it came with the package and that it would be "fun". Sorry, but why would you want to attend a 120 minutes long presentation about their products on your vacation? When I got back to my hotel, I google Bluegreen Vacation because I never heard of them before and all I read was bad reviews and a lot of similar stories of what had just happened to me. That "120 minutes presentation" that they kept talking about was selling their timeshares to get more money out of you and could last 3+ hours long according to some customers who had already attend it.
I knew that I had to cancel right away and get my money back. I had to call the next day (Sunday) since it was after hours. At first I called the number Kelly gave me, but it was wrong. I waited for five minutes on the phone and at the end, the operator told me to hang up. Not surprising after I read the reviews about how their agents treat their customers when they want to cancel and get their refund back. So, I called their customer service number and I reached an agent name Ebony. She was really nice and I told her I wanted to cancel. She asked me why and I told her I changed my mind then she told me she's going to transfer me to another agent, so we can get this taken care of. I was on the line for less than five minutes and Ebony came back on saying that all the agents were busy and she will have an agent call me later on the day. I asked her why couldn't she just do it, but she told me that she didn't have the authorization to do it. So, I told her I'll call back later if I don't hear from them. She said okay and we hung up. I was really skeptical at this point since I had read some reviews where the customers was told the same thing, but no agents ever called them back.
At this point, I really thought my $200 went down the drain. Well, my luck changed in less than ten minutes. An agent did call back and we did cancel my "vacation package" that was free. She told me the money will be refunded back in 3-5 business day and I also requested her to send me an email confirmation that it was indeed cancel. Within 3-5 days, I did receive my refund back and I also got the email confirmation later on the day. Please read this before you decide to pursue your "free" vacation package: http://www.bluegreengetaways.com/details-of-participation. It's not really free and any information that you list for drawings could be use.

Me and my wife fell for the front at a Bass Pro Shop. It seemed innocent enough. It didn't take us long to realize what was going on. While we were on our initial free stay after signing up, we attended the first meeting at Bluegreen in Gatlinburg, TN. After listening to the spiel for the biggest part the day, we took the bait. We were told "You all are getting these points at a crazy low price" etc... From then on, every time except maybe once that we went to use points for a stay, we were told that we had to attend an "owner update". As you know if you are an owner this is just a meeting to shorten the enjoyment of your trip to try to convince you to buy more points. It finally got so out of hand that we couldn't afford the nonsense so we consulted with an attorney who told us to just stop paying then, which we did. He said it would affect our credit for a while, but that's the best thing to do in this case. My family and I were approached by a Mr. ** to consider a 4 night visit to a variety of timeshare locations across the country; except for La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino in Oranjestad and Cibola Vista Resort and Spa in Arizona due to the potential for safety concerns. We are a well seasoned family of travel, U.S. and abroad business owner, and a Realtor....hmm, wonder what sales pitch would be presented? After discussing further about this "Opportunity" and the sense of adventure, I paid the $199 fee and received a $50.00 Bass Pro Gift card. Providing the minimum personal information, their system reflected the wrong city by simply entering my long term zip code. The receipt reflected a different city. I had Mr. ** correct the data to the correct city fast forward two hours after reading the material and determining the venue.
I telephoned the customer service department at 800 567-5877 to inquire about the address. I discovered it was still wrong. Talked into buying into Blue Green. Great sales pitch. We are very conservative so we asked all the right questions. Question: Will we have trouble using or booking vacations? Answer: No. Question: If we ever want to get rid of our package do you get close to purchasing cost? Answer: Yes. We owned it for 4 years and could never get a vacation booked because nothing was ever available. Finally got something booked with our points that took 1 1/2 hours. Got a message about our trip had been cancelled. They do not have good follow up and customer relations.
I would NOT recommend this to anyone. Not even my enemies. Finally sold it back to Blue Green just to get out of it and like I said never used our points for any trip and they cancelled my reservations for the one that took me 1 1/2 hours to book. So with our $15,000 plus dollars they wouldn't even let us go on the only trip we finally could get booked!! I hope anyone that is thinking about Blue Green will take my experience and loss of $15,000 plus and run the other way.

I had an awesome experience. They were up front and honest about the real time reservation system and showed me exactly what was and is available and what the price would be. I purchased and found everything they said to be true when I started using the club. I am satisfied and will purchase more when I can.

Someone at our hotel convinced us to go to the Timeshare meeting. However, when we got there, we were told they needed to see our ID which we provided. After having a seat and waited, we were then told our addresses did not match on our driver's license. Okay but should someone not have told us that before we went through all that crap. Nowhere is it stated that we needed this, only that we had credit card. We already have a Timeshare and would never recommend this one.

I just feel so bad about everyone including myself dealing with Bluegreen. I have owned for 13 years and have felt so financially drained and emotionally also. It has been awful for me almost every resort I have been to is disgustingly dirty. And I am not talking a little dust here and there mold in the shower. Filth carpet. I think they put bluegreen owners in the worst accommodations. We just booked into Ormond Beach, they were jack hammering and horrible pounding. I have a very high pain condition. And loud notices really affect me. The thing is why would they even put anyone in this kind of accommodations. l better stop or I will have a book soon. One huge FYI. If you just stop paying your dues. Even if the timeshare is fully paid for. You will be sent to collections and will deal with huge repercussions. We are in FOREVER!!!

If you live near the resorts in Florida, it can be worth your while. I purchased 7000 points every other year. I have rationalized the fees like this; for roughly 50 or 60 dollars a month, I belong to a club that has high end resorts with lots of amenities. I can use my points in the off season to maximize the benefit, or use bonus time, which is a great rate for these accommodations. I won't buy any more points because of the problems with availability. All this talk about upgrading to use "Choice Rewards" is empty talk.
