I had a deeply disappointing and frankly disgusting experience at this Best Western Plus. The room was not clean by any reasonable standard. There was visible mold growing in the overflow hole of the sink, and mildew lining the grout in the bathroom tiles. The smell of dampness hit me as soon as I walked in. This isn’t just poor housekeeping—it’s a health hazard.
For a hotel marketed as "Plus," the conditions were anything but. The lack of basic cleanliness made it impossible to feel comfortable or safe. Management clearly isn’t inspecting the rooms or prioritizing hygiene. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. This place is unsanitary and unacceptable. Let me know if you'd like to mention location, staff experience, or a specific date of stay.

They did construction at 6 am and refused to refund any part of our stay. They argued that pouring concrete outside of our window was a delivery, not construction. The hotel owner and management are rude and made the decision to pour concrete at 6 am. They offered 15% in points. What a joke!!!

the Winnipeg Best Western on Wellington is a dumb. There are hundreds of people all around the hotel fighting with each other. Garbage all over the floor outside and inside the hotel. Hotel carpets were stained with black mold on the window seals. It was so bad. They had six Is security guards on each floor. Kids and people running in Always all night. A charge is over three hundred dollars and we didn't even sleep. This hotel should be condemned.

I stayed at the Best Western in South Holland, IL. I flew in from out of town and was not familiar with the area. When I arrived I noticed underwear (picture attached) in the bathroom like they did not clean up and a filthy couch (says picture too big to attach) with who knows what kind of stains. I checked out the next morning and advised the front desk of the same. They blew it off, offered a refund for the night I stayed ($150 way too much for a dirty room) that I never got refunded. Very dissatisfied with Mgt & 800#. Terrible experience, will never advise anyone to stay here.

I made a poor decision to stay at the Beat Western in Harrisonburg, VA. I double booked a room on June 3rd by mistake through Booking.com. Front desk saw this and only charged me for 1 room. Got to my room and saw I was double charged. The manager overrode the desk clerk, used my credit card information fraudulently and charged me the extra room without my permission. Then went home. Disgusting. Not trustworthy. Must be hard up for my $117.

I recently stayed at the Best Western Bennington, VT and encountered significant safety and management issues that warrant attention. Upon check-in, I was assured that no construction was taking place in my wing of the hotel. However, within minutes of settling into my room, renovation work began, including grinding floors and removing materials that may contain asbestos. The noise persisted well past the promised 6:00 PM cutoff, continuing into the evening.
Beyond the disruption, the handling of guest safety was deeply concerning. Construction materials were left in common areas, and fire egress routes were temporarily blocked. Additionally, I observed workers grinding floors without proper safety equipment, raising serious OSHA compliance questions. When I raised these concerns with hotel management, their response was dismissive. Instead of addressing the safety risks and miscommunication at check-in, they suggested I stay elsewhere in the future. This lack of accountability is unacceptable for a hospitality business.
Despite efforts by local code enforcement to inspect the site, the hotel had cleaned up visible issues before their arrival, which does not negate the risks posed to guests during active construction. If you value safety, transparency, and a restful stay, I strongly advise against booking this hotel until management demonstrates a commitment to guest welfare and proper construction oversight.

I stayed at the Aiden by Best Western in North Scottsdale, Arizona. I had an awful experience here, and could never reach a manager (although I tried!) to discuss my experience. I was moving, and had to find a place to stay for the night. I was VERY tired. At 5:15 a.m., the clock they had right next to the bed, and to which I had paid no attention, had an alarm go off. It was SUPER loud, and kept going off. I finally figured out how to turn it off. I complained the next morning to the staff. It was a weekend, so there was no manager there. They said I should have turned off the alarm prior to going to sleep.
How was I to know whether the alarm was set for a very early time, or how to turn it off from an alarm setting without calling the front desk? That's not my forte. Also, why do they have clocks with alarms in the rooms? 98% of people own cellphones where you can set an alarm. It seems logical that they would have the stupid clocks with an alarm available for any guest who asks for one, instead of putting them in every room. Also, why don't they, as good customer service, have their maids check to clear any alarm settings when they are cleaning a room? It ruined my sleep on a day when I was about to drive for 8-10 hours. I could never reach the manager, who apparently has decided that making himself unavailable to talk to customers is the way to go. Awful experience. If you stay here, be warned that you may be woken up in the early hours, and that management won't care.

In general most corporate Hotels are real good. We have stayed at different locations and like all of them. Now this review is for Best Western Melrose at Seabrook, TX, Many of the reviews for this location is from when the hotel was owned by another owner/group who previously owned the property. Look at current reviews from the past few months. The new owner has presently remodeled and prides himself with good service and a good cleaning staff. In many reviews of the property the pictures are old from the previously owners and Melrose is now with Best Western and has been remodeled extensively. It is no longer a Comfort Inn.
The staff is very nice, accommodating too. The rooms are roomy and clean. I can't say it enough, very clean and new furniture and flooring etc. Someone said there was no fan in the bathroom, that is incorrect. It has a vent and is always on but you can't hear it. There is no switch for it. The shower is really nice and felt wonderful actually. I had to get extra towels and that was no problem. The AC works good.
Breakfast was ok but I am vegan so there is that. They have fruit and a few other food items I could eat. Now for my husband, they have an egg omelet bar on weekends and you get to pick what you want. They had bagels and muffins and I like the chocolate and hope it was vegan but not sure. The hallways were clean and the outside also. Loved the bed and it was a king. We stayed 4 nights. I loved the Mediterranean Cafa and a Mexican Restaurant across the street. That was so convenient. We also went to one of the bars up where the water is. They had good fries.
NASA was close by as was the Boardwalk and so was League City. I would for sure stay again. The owner was one of the nicest management personnel I have ever met and I am not related nor work for him or the company of BW. Just a tourist. I made the reservation with Sam on the phone. He was very helpful and nice also. Oh I didn't see one single bug, not one. Yay.

We stayed at Best Western Plus 4001 West 27th Avenue, Kennewick, WA 99337, USA. At check in the staff was great! We went to the room, dropped off our things and went off to an event. We returned later that evening. Sat on the couch and noticed a stench of urine, got up huge urine stain. Got ready to shower, bathroom stinks like the couch. Floors are sticky and smell of urine. I called front desk, young man comes with 2 spray bottles, they don’t work. I pulled the sheets back and noticed bedding had not been changed.
When he returned, I showed him. He sprayed the couch, went to the bathroom, came out a few seconds later. I asked if he cleaned he said yes, I said, I didn’t hear the water. He said, I sprayed and wiped it down. I told him, we need to be moved, he said we’re booked. I told him to get me clean bedding, he did and changed the bedding. The sheer curtains had stains on them too. The urine stench was horrific. I used their shampoo and towels and cleaned the bathroom and wiped all the counters. I used their coffee pods and sprinkled on the carpet and bathroom floor. Worst experience we’ve ever had in a Hotel! Even the phone was filthy!

I stayed at the Best Western in Franklin, TN on a business trip. I had several dress shirts, all the same brand and new but different colors, and all hanging next to each other. I have never in my life left anything or forgot anything in any hotel room. When I got home, one of the dress shirts was missing. I called the hotel but of course, they DENIED everything to include allegedly that they checked the lost and found. I KNOW the maid stole it when she cleaned the room - probably on the last day before checkout. I raised the matter to Best Western corporate which solicited a response from Best Western Franklin that it was "too long ago." Plus the hotel was FILTHY DIRTY and the breakfast room was particularly disgusting. I even suggested that BW corporate do a site visit to see if they meet the BW standards. So I hope someone on the staff enjoys that $65 dress shirt!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the SureStay Hotel by Best Western Santa Cruz, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and restful environment. The bed was cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was spotless, equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the towels provided were fresh and of high quality. The room also featured a microwave and refrigerator, which were convenient for light meals and snacks.
The hotel’s location is another highlight, situated close to various shops and restaurants, making it convenient for guests to explore the area. The complimentary continental breakfast offered a variety of options, including a choice of breads, cereal, fruit, juice, yogurt, and more, providing a great start to the day. The staff at SureStay were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to the stay, making it even more enjoyable.
One minor suggestion for improvement would be the addition of small face towels in the bathroom. While the provided towels were excellent, having smaller towels specifically for face washing would enhance the overall convenience and comfort. Overall, my stay at SureStay Hotel by Best Western Santa Cruz was outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning in the future!

TL;DR. I followed cancellation policies, communicated clearly, received confirmation, and was still charged $2,660.14. Best Western acknowledged my cancellation early on, but passed the blame, denied a refund, and told me to go kick rocks.
Full Version: I booked a 5-night stay (Dec 4–9, 2024) through Chase Travel for my wife and her best friend. Days before the trip, her best friend’s mother had a stroke. They initially hoped to still go, but her condition worsened, and she was hospitalized. They made the decision to cancel. Following the hotel and Chase policies, I called Chase Travel on Dec 3 to cancel. Their rep said they would reach out to the hotel and try for a full refund, but assured me that worst case, I’d be charged a one-night penalty. That matched the hotel’s written policy: cancellations after Dec 1 at 4:00 PM are subject to a one-night fee plus taxes and fees. Chase contacted the hotel, who confirmed the manager was out for the day but would be emailed. I was told again the worst case would be a one-night charge.
On Dec 5, I followed up. Chase said the hotel acknowledged the Dec 3rd cancellation but, since the manager didn’t act until check-in day (Dec 4), they called it a no-show and charged me the full amount: $2,660.14. Chase told me to call the hotel directly. I did—on Dec 5. The front desk confirmed the cancellation and said I would receive a refund, minus the one-night penalty, within 30–45 days. I was relieved. But by January, no refund. When I followed up, the hotel denied ever offering one and refused to help. Chase’s final advice? File a travel insurance claim. But since the emergency involved the mother of my wife’s friend—not an immediate family member—it likely won’t be covered.
I’m now out $2,660.14, hours of time, and the mental toll of dealing with something I responsibly handled ahead of time. Both Chase Travel and Best Western acted in bad faith. They didn’t honor their policies, misled me, and took no accountability—despite clear documentation and early communication. I’m extremely disappointed in everyone involved, especially this hotel’s disregard for guests. We had originally planned to rebook here later, but there’s no way we would ever trust this hotel—or Best Western at all—with future travel plans. More than just losing money, I wouldn’t trust them to hold a booking, much less cancel one properly. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING — STAY AWAY.

I used points for the first night of my stay at the Best Western Premium in Sparta WI. We were in 214. After returning back to our room around 7:30pm, from the noise above us, it sounded like a party going up in 314. Lots of running around, constant foot noise from the floor and multiple voices. We tried to watch tv and read, but the noise level made any activity difficult. Around 10 pm, we went to bed, but the same noises continued making it impossible to rest/sleep even with using a phone app for noise. I went down to the front desk and made a complaint of the noise coming from the party above. The friendly night receptionist went upstairs and came down about 1 minute later stating he had told them to keep the noise down and stated the residents were receptive.
I went back upstairs to our room and tried to sleep, but the noise levels stayed the same and the number and volume of voices increased. This continued until about midnight when I finally gave up and went out to sleep in our car. It was pretty cold, but I managed to stay in the car until 1:45 am. I assumed the party would be over and returned to our room but immediately heard the same noise levels as before. I banged on the ceiling, but this had no effect. I tried to fall asleep, but the constant movement of people walking, running, moving items above us made it impossible. At 3 am, I went back downstairs and told the clerk that I would be calling the police if he didn't take care of the matter. He said he would call them and tell them to quiet down. I went back upstairs and at first, I could hear feet shuffling like the party was ending.
Voices were loud, but I thought in a few minutes (it was after 3 am), people would leave that room, and I could go to sleep. I stayed by the door, with my clothing on in case it didn't. About 5 minutes later, I heard the elevator open (it was near our room), and a male and a female (ages about 17-20 estimated) started to walk my room door while pointing directly at the door, I had my flashlight on and when I looked out the peephole, they must have seen the movement of the flashlight and immediately ran back toward the elevator.
A few minutes later, I heard the room door next to us (to the right of our door while facing our door) slam shut and then loud voices and slamming of doors and hitting of walls. I again laid down on the bed thinking they might be going to sleep, but that room noises continued in addition to more movement noises coming from upstairs. I could hear voices above us as well, although not as loud as before. Around 4 am, my wife went downstairs to complain, and she was told not to call the police. About 15 minutes, without any changes in the noise levels, I gave up and went to sleep in the car. I returned to the room around 8 am and the rooms were quiet.
I requested to talk with the general manager Lynda and was told she wasn't in. I gave the clerk my name and number and requested the GM call me. This was on Sunday, December 8th. When we checked out on Monday, December 9th, I was told again the GM was not in and I again requested the GM call me. By Thursday, I had not received any communication from the GM, so I called the hotel and was told that the GM was not in and that she made her own hours. I was also told there was no way to directly contact her with any form of communication.
This is insane where the GM of a hotel cannot be contacted by customers. As of Saturday, December 14th, I have not received a call from the GM who apparently has no accountability of her employment. I can see why this hotel allows parties and noise complaints to fester while ignoring their other customers. I am not young and have traveled extensively around the world, staying at many types of hotels and lodging types. The first night at the hotel was by far, the worst night I've ever spent at a hotel, and I can't even get the courtesy of a call from the hotel manager.

The following is listed on the Best Western Guest Directory: "Extra blankets, pillows and towels are available from housekeeping from 9 AM until 3:00 PM, daily. After 3:00 PM please contact the Front Desk staff at extension 0."
During the course of our stay at this location, we requested additional blankets for my wife, daughter and myself. There was only one blanket in the room for two beds when we arrived. They gave us one more blanket the night we checked in, but refused any additional blankets during the course of our stay. We inquired with 4 individuals that worked for the motel, including Andre the manager. It was only on our last day that we were given an additional blanket and only after having a firm discussion in the motel lobby. We only wanted a total of two blankets for each bed, due to the blankets being quite thin. They lied and told us that now blankets were available.
Then they told us later that it was against their motel policy. My daughter happened to see the above in the guest directory which is quite clearly different than what the motel staff told us. We asked to check out a day early and be refunded for the night which we would not be staying and they refused to refund us. We finally left early regardless due to multiple poor nights sleep for my wife. We found out from their corporate customer service that the motel and change policy whenever they want. The BW customer service has no ability to hold the motel location to it. Furthermore, the manager Andre told corporate that he gave us 3 extra blankets for a total of 4 blankets. We found this out prior to leaving and even had the front desk employee Raquel witness that we only had 3 blankets and 1 had not even been unfolded.

Stayed at Best Western Hotels & Resorts in Kansas City, MO this past weekend. It was the hotel directly across from the stadiums at 4011 Blue Ridge Cut Off, Kansas City, MO 64133. This hotel was horrible. The GM was terrible and has no business running that hotel. I was there for an event happening in their ballrooms. The GM made decisions that went against the contract that the group throwing the event had in place. The GM voluntarily broke contract.
On top of that, the GM cornered one of the people that was in charge of the event in front of other customers in the lobby area in an attempt to cause a fight so that the GM could throw this person out of the hotel. When this person walked away, the GM threatened to throw them out anyway. Again, this GM has NO business running this hotel.
There were other issues that were found also. One of the entries to the hotel was chained closed. To my knowledge, this was one of two entries/exits to this hotel and was a serious fire hazard The actual staff, or at least the ones that we had interaction with, were amazing. The person at the front desk who fixed our reservation was amazing. I feel for them having to deal with a GM that is that bad. 0/5 stars. I am writing this review with a sense of deep disappointment. I had the misfortune of dealing with Best Western Hotel's customer service, or rather, the lack thereof. My issue began with an innocent error, an incorrect reservation made due to a faulty Booking.com algorithm misdirection. I immediately called the hotel and rectified the mistake, expecting a swift resolution from Best Western. However, a series of ignored communications and a blatant disregard for my refund request followed.
It is disheartening to see such a well-known establishment choose to hold onto a customer's payment, even when the error was not the customer's fault. The $150 that Best Western has chosen to retain may not seem significant to a large corporation, but it is a matter of principle and respect for the customer. The silence from Best Western's end speaks volumes about their approach to customer service. It is clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority for them. Instead, they seem to be more interested in holding onto a customer's hard-earned money.
I am left with no choice but to voice my dissatisfaction publicly. I hope that potential customers will read this review and think twice before choosing Best Western. It is not just about the money, but the principle. No customer should be treated with such disregard. In conclusion, I am a patron that Best Western has permanently lost. I hope that my experience serves as a wake-up call for them to improve their customer service. Until then, I advise potential customers to tread carefully.

He claimed he would fix that but that never happened. The reservation was for a king size bed, non smoking room. First obstacle for Mr. **, he claims they only had rooms on the second floor. Ok, I asked, "Do you have a elevator for my luggage?" His answer was NO. I explained I was not able to do steps with the luggage so he conveniently found a room on the back side of the property on the 1st floor. Open the door to the room to be knocked backwards by the smell of raunchy coverup of a smoke filled dirty room.
The room lacked serious maintainence as well. Laminate flooring coming up, cracked shower walls along with a used washcloth left over either from and past guess or someone who just decided to spend the night since the safety lock on the door was completely broken. We made do for the night after a long drive and needed to board a ship the next morning. Two days later, Mr. ** or the management staff decide to hit my CC with a charge for another night. Mind you, Mr. ** was informed and complained he would take care of the reservation which was wrong to begin with. To double check this mistake, I personally contacted the Best Western reservation headquarters and asked for the reservation email that they send everyone for confirmation after a reservation is made. Best Western claimed they did not have any record of that email and I did not receive it as well.
Long story short, did not get what I paid for and was double charged for a service I did not receive. AVOID this DUMP! They were paving the parking lot instead of fixing long overdue repairs on the dirty, smelly, uncleaned rooms. For your viewing pleasure I am adding S.P's response which I would have to say knowing how these type of individuals run these places in the ground after they buy them is a relative if not the same person.
"I am writing in response to your Best Western Complaint. We apologize there is any confusion regarding your billing. We have checked our records and none of our staff were told you would be staying only one night. The check in documents you signed were all for two nights. You also never came to the Front Desk on March 1, 2024 to check out. Our housekeeping records indicate you received stayover service on March 1, 2024. If a room is empty our housekeepers do notify us, and there were no such notifications. According to our system records and housekeeping records you were at our hotel for two nights, and therfore charged correctly. If you did leave anytime after housekeeping cleaned your room after check out time, or if you left early without notifying us and checking out, you would also be charged for second night. Best Regards, S.P. Senior Manager SureStay by Best Western Fort Pierce"

My brother was in the hospital in tulsa Oklahoma. I got a package deal.... flight, car, room. Booked room at Best Western-Airport Tulsa Oklahoma.
1st. Room looked very dated Advertised photos are of lobby... false advertisement.
2nd. Went to room 103. Door was already open. Door would not latch. I called front desk and they sent some crazy haired person in stocking feet with a drill to grind down the door latch.
3rd. After arriving back to room and trying to relax, I heard gunfire nearby. Barricaded the door. In the morning when checking out. Clerk said there was a police academy gunrange behind the hotel. I accepted her explanation. Getting home I resaerched myself and found there is a gun range but on south garnett ACROSS THE FREEWAY nowhere near my location.
4th. The room itself. Carpet was dirty and worn. Furniture looked second hand. Microwave was dirty. Following day after checking out I reserved a room at the Fairfield by Marriott in the art district, cheaper and extremely clean, secure.
5th. Totally disappointed with this experience. Blatant lies in order not to refund my money. My brother is at the Hillcrest Medical Center with colon cancer, and I traveled to tulsa to see and support him. Searching for a new room took precious time I had allocated to be with him.

A Delightful Stay at Best Western, Silicon Valley. I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western in Silicon Valley, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! From the moment I stepped in, the front desk staff were nothing short of wonderful. They were welcoming, efficient, and made check-in a breeze. The rooms were a breath of fresh air – literally! They were spotlessly clean and what I loved the most was the ability to open the windows for some fresh air, a rare find in hotels these days. It added a nice, homely touch to the room. Plenty of plug-ins all over the room. The desk had at least 6 alone for all your technology.
Now, let's talk about the breakfast spread. It was amazing! There were plenty of healthy options like oatmeal, hard boiled eggs and more, which I appreciated. The latte machine was a delightful surprise, adding a special touch to my morning routine. It's not every day you find a hotel that puts so much thought into their breakfast offerings. The location of the hotel is another big plus. It offers easy access to everything you might need in Silicon Valley, making it a convenient choice for both business and leisure travelers. The gym is two stories and awesome. In summary, my stay at the Best Western in Silicon Valley was nothing short of wonderful. It's a great choice for anyone looking for clean rooms, friendly service, and a fantastic breakfast experience. Highly recommended!

I would like to thank BW for ruining what was supposed to be a long racing/vacation weekend. When we arrived at the hotel my husband checked in, was told there were 2 identical reservations. The hotel clerk couldn’t/wouldn’t cancel one of them because it was after the two-day window. I had to call corporate (and look the number up myself), 30 minutes later one of the reservations did get cancelled. However, while waiting to get those taken care of, I noticed in a second story window a BULLET HOLE.
When I told corporate, her reply was “Well is it the window to your room.” I told her it didn’t matter, I DID NOT feel safe staying there. I let her know we would talk to the person at the desk and call back if problems. My husband went in, got the woman at the desk who told us the BULLET HOLE was a crack. (**) my husband stopped 3 older gentleman on there to check in (they were coach bus drivers) and they confirmed it was a BULLET HOLE. At this point, I got corporate back on the phone, and all she could do was make a ticket and call the hotel. She got back on the phone with me and told me the woman at the front desk was busy. BUT out came that same woman to have a seat out front and light up a smoke. I told the lady from corporate we were going to grab some food and come back. We came back after picking up my son from the race track. He also didn’t feel safe after looking at the surroundings and the BULLET HOLE.
My son and husband cancelled their obligations at the Fairgrounds Speedway and we turned right back around and head back to Northern Illinois in less than 24 hours. BW corporate nor the hotel in Antioch would refund us. The woman at the front desk was rude and insulted our intelligence by trying to say a perfectly round hole through a hotel window was a SCRATCH and instead of working through the issue with corporate, decided a smoke was more important. When I talked to Corporate a 4th time, all they can do was as notes to the previous ticket. So much for customer service. At least I feel safe now that we did not stay there.

I appalled to have to get the point of writing reviews after trying to deal with this horrible company. We had to stay a night at the Best western in Louisiana due to a missed flight. Exhausted, we went to bed quite early (11pm by the time we got in) only to be woken up at 5 am covered in ants! Ants!!!!! In the bed, the towels and other bugs throughout the room. My partner had them in his arm and all over his body, as well as myself. We run to shower to scrub them off us and when we called the front desk, we were told a manager was not in and they would let them know. The man we dealt with was awful, completely rude with no apology or offer refund us.
We have been going back and forth with this company for our refund and some type of compensation for having to throw out clothes and immediately check out. It has been over a week and we both have bumps on us from bites and on antibiotics for bug bites. We will be contacting a lawyer at this point as they seem to have no self of responsibility for basic cleanliness in rooms that their customers pay good money for. We will be sending videos of this monstrosity online so everyone can see the squalor they accept their name to be attached to. Beyond disgusted with this company, do everything in your power to avoid these hotels!!!

Needless to say, someone else had the room they tried to put me in. After a 12 hour drive from Salt Lake City, I kept myself in good spirits while we were put into a smaller room and smaller bed. Room is half the size, queen bed, half the balcony. The owners/staff were cordial, and I get people make mistakes, but this really upsets me especially for the price I paid. I can't help but feel ripped off by having to settle for a room that was just handy to put us in.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Amanda the manager is so greedy that she refused to refund the $30 dollars (30000 BW points). The more I talked to her the worst she was. Said this review cost her money even if I changed it. Tried to explain I am 65, disabled and can not drive at night, and would never leave somewhere at night. In fact I got stuck in a yard trying to see my relative's driveway and she said, "Well you do not know my age." Refused to settle this with me at ALL. The wifi was 1 mbs. Normal is 50-100 mbs. When I sat on the bed to call, I sunk so far into the old worn out mattress I had a hard time getting out. They would not do anything about it either, said they could not call the manager, but when I said, "I am leaving now" after 3 hrs they called the manager and the manager would not refund my money so I left anyway.
Then they lied and said I was at the pool with grandkids, I am here by myself for a family funeral and did not use the pool at all. And never got a refund from corporate either, they are just as greedy. I now have to go through the BBB and the Indiana state's Attorney's office just to try to get my 30 dollars in bw points returned to me.

The rooms are roach infested, the guests can be loud in the wee hours of the morning, and your maintenance requests will not be completed. We did not complain about the roaches during our stay because the front desk staff were absolutely wonderful. However, we realized that once they take your money and you leave, customer service no longer exists even when your stay is over $1200 dollars. Well, at least with the general management team. The general manager was the one who prompted me to leave this review after a potential identity theft incident that I brought up to the motel's attention, so I figured if she can't make us happy by simply being accountable for her actions, (inability to properly follow-up and resolve customer issues). I would follow her instructions and leave a review online instead.
I recommend this motel if you're okay with your identity possibly being used to book rooms, roach infestations, loud guests, and no responses to maintenance requests. Also, I recommend that if you have any issues that you address them before you leave because once you check out, you'll have to deal with general management who has no regard for anyone else but themselves and they will make sure to remind you of that too when you bring it up to their attention after the fact.

The smoke alarm started chirping at 2:30 AM, I removed the battery still chirping. It was hard wired and was hesitant to disconnect. Called front desk and they came and pulled the wires. When I discussed my total dissatisfaction of the situation and total loss of sleep the manager DJ said she would take 7% off. REALLY!!! 7% is an insult. That's the tax on the room, if you can't do better than that I will check out immediately in which I did.

How bout providing a comfortable place to sleep. HOW BOUT CHANGING THE BATTERIES EVERY YEAR LIKE THEY RECOMMEND. I made the reservation well in advance, described the dog (18 lbs, 12 inches tall), and was told my 2 night stay would be $319 an change plus some fees and taxes-- this would include a fee for the dog-- which was fine. The day before the 4 hour drive to the hotel from my home I received a confirmation email which included "other taxes and fees" (not individually detailed but grouped together) taking the "TOTAL STAY" price to $369.77. When we arrived the next day prepared to pay the TOTAL STAY fee of $369.77 I was hit with another charge of $30 for my pet. Despite knowing about the pet (they even had the description), they said because I had made my reservation by phone, it hadn't been included in the TOTAL STAY charges (which, again, included the taxes and fees I'd been told to expect).
Having no choice at that point but to agree (we didn't have time to try and hike all over Newport News looking for a comparable hotel that accepted pets. Besides, because I booked this at a lower rate, the room was nonrefundable, we felt forced to accept. Upon returning home I called Best Western to dispute the added fee and asked that they refund just the $30. They offered me a $50 coupon- useless b/c I might not ever stay in a Best Western again and I'd have to spend more money to be compensated for their error. I was told they'd get back to me in 2-5 days (they didn't) and when I had to call again a week later I was told that they had they right to tack on this fee AFTER THE TOTAL STAY EMAIL AND WHILE I WAS STRANDED IN THEIR LOBBY WITH NO OTHER LEGITIMATE OPTIONS.
Beware this horrible company and their predatory practices. I will never stay at one of their hotels again and will strongly advise friends and family to do the same.

1-star is one too many for this Worst Western. Awful experience and awful management that could care less. Never again! I booked this room last minute due to an unexpected death in the family. Somehow I was given a smoking room and I asked politely if I could switch rooms and was told over the phone to come to the front desk. Then when I got there I was told it would be an extra $50. This is ridiculous and if anything smoking rooms should cost more given the fact they smell and take longer to clean. Nowhere in my 3rd party reservation did it say I booked a smoking room and even their front desk agent looked at my reservation and agreed. There wasn't even the option for smoking/non-smoking, as I explained to the front desk agent.
I definitely did NOT select a smoking room and IF the 3rd party pushed it thru as a smoking room, that isn't my fault and telling me to call the 3rd party to have them put me in another hotel after already having a tough time coming back from a FUNERAL...VS simply moving my room at no charge when there were plenty of rooms available is just insane to me and the complete opposite of hospitality. I was not told there were no non-smoking rooms available...In fact I was told by your desk agent there were several non-smoking rooms those nights but they would have to charge me $25 extra per night.
Trying to hustle me when I'm literally mourning a major loss in my life is inconceivable. The room rate was EXACTLY the same when I looked it up which makes the new name of this hotel the Worst Western. I was staying at the hotel because of a death in the family and I didn't need the added stress. This should've been a simple fix but this hotel and BHW Group clearly do not know what real hospitality is and if they do, they failed to show it. I've worked in several hotels before and I've been awaiting an official response from corporate regarding my formal complaint. It has been 10 days and I have still yet to hear anything. Anyone or any entity trying to profit off of someone in my situation should not be in business. The way they handled this situation is beyond disappointing.

I scheduled a hotel room through a third party and selected to pay on site upon check in since my itinerary has to change frequently. I cancelled well within the time frame for cancellation. Best Western created an authorization anyway prior to my check in for the full price of the room that I had to cancel. Why? No explanation. The charge very clearly says "BEST WESTERN ASPEN" - not the third party and not a merchant other than Best Western. When calling to speak to someone about having my money returned since - again - **I NEVER CHECKED IN BECAUSE I HAD TO CANCEL**, I was told it was "just" an authorization. For a reservation that requested payment upon check in? Through a third party service? The third party states that any funds taken by the hotel would have a full refund immediately, and yet the funds have not been returned to me 12 days later.
My bank states that authorizations like that have to be updated with $0.00 balance due. Not only did it take the hotel 3 additional days AFTER my cancellation to actually reverse the "authorization", every time I call the hotel, the General Manager is mysteriously not there. When I called the corporate office of Best Western, I was put on hold while they actually got to speak with the General Manager. Whom I was told was not in about 15 minutes prior. I have sent emails requesting documentation that have been ignored completely. Their general management and billing along with their poor customer service at every level is completely lacking. This is a SERVICE industry - which I have worked in most of my life.
I have never been treated so unprofessionally in my life. There have never been any options offered for solutions and everyone I have spoken to has been defensive and argumentative instead of apologetic or at minimum helpful in the very least. Someone made a mistake at your hotel. Own it and do literally everything in your power to rectify the situation. That is what being in the service industry is all about. Serving customers. I will never be a Best Western customer again due to this issue. Which is really a shame since I work in the event planning industry.

He picked Best Western Plus Killeen/Ft. Hood because we always stay at the Best Western Plus when we travel and I’m also a Best Western rewards member. Well we got there on Saturday 6/4 and everything was good. A few days in we asked for towels as we left. We were told there were no towels because they were behind on laundry. Not a problem. At this point we took care of our own trash.
On 6/9 we asked if our room could be cleaned. Was told by the front desk that there were no guarantees but they would leave a note for Housekeeper. When we returned the room had not been cleaned and the dirty towels and trash were still In the room. It was late and we just went to bed. The next morning on 6/10 we left for the day, this time we left the towels and trash in front of the door to the room which almost everyone on the floor had done. I didn’t like that option but we need to get the stuff out the room. Again when we came back to the room the room was not cleaned and my husband had to go back down to the front desk to ask about the room being cleaned and for clean towels.
When my husband talked to the front desk clerk, she was going to ask the housekeeper to come to our room; the housekeeper was already gone for the day at 2:45 in the afternoon….At that point my husband was irritated and wanted to make a complaint. Between the bad service and the washer and dryer being broken we had, had enough of the nonsense.
So while my husband was down at the front desk the front desk clerk was speaking to Wisdom the property manager on the phone. Wisdom asked the front desk clerk to place her on speakerphone so she could speak directly to my husband. She said that rooms of guest that were staying would not be cleaned and only rooms for check outs would be attended to. Ok, if that’s the policy why not say that at check in. The issue is that it was no service of any kind, no clean towels, no trash removal, NOTHING! My husband was beyond angry when he came back upstairs. At this point I had found the information for Best Western’s customer service. But I needed the manager's name so my husband went back to the front desk to get her name and came back with the General Manager’s card.
I called the customer service number, made the complaint and was told someone would call us from the property in 45 minutes to 1 hour after the complaint was filed. No call, my husband got a call on Tuesday 6/14, from Vanessa **, who had a nasty attitude from the start. My husband and she had a very contentious conversation, needless to say nothing was resolved. Also on 6/14 my husband’s credit card company contacted him about a new charge from the Best Western Killeen/Ft.Hood (the 3rd charge for the room). Previously on 6/10 he had spoke to Wisdom the property Manager about a charge for $1100 (2nd time they charged his card for the room) she said that it had been fixed.…but then after check out on 6/12 they turned around and charged his card a 3rd time. However, the trip was charged before we even made it to Texas, through Booking.com.
Bottom line when he talked to Vanessa ** the General Manager she was nasty, it took her 4 days to make contact with us about the complaint. And when he asked why had his card been charged for the 3rd time, she straight lied and said that Booking.com had charged him again and she didn’t see it in their computer. The credit card company said that it wasn’t from Booking.com but it was directly from Best Western Plus in Killeen. My husband had to file a dispute because the credit card company said payment had been made to Booking.com and that it had been processed a week before our trip.
This was the worst experience I have ever had with Best Western and personally, I will never go back to the one in Killeen. The amount of trash and dirty linen in the halls on every floor was ridiculous. It went from just in front of the rooms to snaking around the corner to being in the front of elevators on each floor. Like for real. That’s what the customers have to see all day every day the entire week we were there. It seemed like the Porter was trying to keep up but it was a lot of trash. My question is what do the housekeeping staff do??? However, in closing I do think the foolishness was just with this particular Best Western. Their management was the worst, nasty attitudes and lack of customer service. The silver lining is that the front desk crew Latoria, Aaron & Chance were really great, and Corey the Porter was extremely nice and helpful.

Stayed at the Best Western Braselton Inn in North Georgia for a wedding this past weekend. I was woken up at 5:15 a.m to someone forcefully trying to open my hotel room’s door, I called the police and while I was on the phone with the police they left, came back, and successfully opened the door. Luckily I had the manual chain lock on so they weren’t able to get in. You can imagine how scared I was that someone kept trying then succeeding in opening my hotel room door. Right after they opened the door I told 911 they have to send someone, shortly after hung up and then called the front desk. Apparently it was the front desk that opened the door. According to the front desk someone walked into the lobby with a key that looked like it said my room number on it and claimed it didn’t work.
The front desk asked the man “are you Mr. *my last name*?” And the man said yes so they went with him to open the door for him. The front desk should’ve checked his ID or at the very least ask “what’s the last name on the reservation?” Or something along those lines, and not give out my personal info (my last name) as well as disturb our privacy. You can imagine how terrified we were when it felt like someone was trying to get into our hotel room. Not to mention that if we weren’t in the room the man could have just walked in and stolen our stuff. When I brought it up to management they apologized but said they couldn’t do anything for me. Same thing when I submitted a customer relations complaint to corporate. Just overall an awful experience. I would recommend a different place.

I am reading through all these comments and it seems as though the Best Western chains are all stealing money from their customers and I can not understand why someone is not investigating this. It seems pretty impossible that so many people have the same basic story and a bogus charge and no record of the charge or refund given. This happened to me twice. At a BW hotel in Oregon, I gave them my card for incidentals. They charged $50. Then between 3-4 in the morning there was another charge. The manager was not available so they would give him my number and he would call me later. When we checked out the lady at the desk said we were good to go. About 30 minutes later ANOTHER charge goes through my account. I called immediately and the girl that checked us out didn't know what happened, she was new and would have the manager call me.
When I finally talked to the manager he tried to argue with me but I wasn't having it and I was going to go back to the hotel and call my bank, show the charges in my bank ect. I'm pretty sure that is the ONLY reason my money was refunded that time. About a month later...we stayed at a BW in Bellingham. When I checked in I advised the lady I had a service dog (I was unable to find a comment box with the 3rd party I booked through). She asked me for the paperwork...(not legally allowed to ask me).. I advised her I have a letter on my phone I could show her but I didn't have a printed piece of paper. She refused it and charged me $20. AGAIN, between 3-4 in the morning another $20 charge went through my account.... When I got up and talked to the girl at the front desk she stated that there was no record of the 2nd $20 charge.... I PLAYED ** getting back money that was not supposed to be at all.
The MANAGER told me, he does not care about the ADA Law at that hotel. They could ask me whatever they wanted to and if I didn't like it to leave the property. I had to call bw customer relations to get the two $20 charges refunded and I at first thought they were going to be helpful. I wanted some resolution for the way I was treated and talked to. After about a month, many unanswered emails and calls I was finally emailed back by some CEO address stating that the specific property would have to compensate me for the untrained employee's misunderstanding..... LOL, remember the first story.... yep this one was also a new employee being trained. There was nothing they could do.
Did I mention they also tried to tell customer relations that the mirror in my room was broken. Good thing I take pictures with my TIME STAMPED camera before I left but nice try.... Then I'm reading all of these stories and they are all WAY TOO SIMILAR to be coincidence..... I'm filing a complaint with DOJ for the ada violations but I'm also looking in to the BBB or anyone else I can maybe have BW investigated. There is something very shady going on with this and it needs to be looked into. I will NEVER give my money to BW EVER AGAIN!!!!

In three recent situations at different Best Western locations, I received a confirmation e-mail which included total charges for my stay. The total indicated that it included taxes, fees, and extra resort charges, if there were any. After my stay and upon checking my credit card bill, the actual charge was slightly higher for each stay. A small matter of $3.-12.00 depending on location. I called the specific hotel each time, they checked my charges, and credited my credit card after some discussion. This completely satisfied me, but it simply should not be happening. I do not want to have to inconvenience myself with making the phone call and how many travelers does this happen to that simply don’t check for discrepancies?

On the 15th after 1am one of the rooms was vandalized and one of my guests had her wallet and fanny pack stolen while my elderly DD sister was asleep in the room. Me and my guest who had her belongings stolen were enjoying our trip in my room at the time listening to music. Needless to say we were horrified that this could have happened, and made the trip difficult on us just trying to fly back home without her having any identification. What was a wonderful experience turned into a nightmare. Our greatest dissatisfaction was the lack of empathy we experienced from the hotel and even to this day nothing, not even from corporate. Their responses were basically it's Daytona. I'm sorry but that's not good enough for me after being violated by perhaps someone who was watching us.

The BW in Grand Canyon was outstanding, as was Salida, Colorado. My advice from experience is Stay Away from Best Western Airport in Albuquerque. There are cockroaches and mold in their hot tubs. My husband actually caught a cockroach and brought it to the front desk to show them. He did it discreetly, when no one else was there. They only allow you to book the shuttle while at the hotel, I often arrived late and have been told it’s full. I no longer stay there because there are so many other good choices near the airport. The hotel service has declined greatly since the new assistant manager named Jace started there. He cancelled my reservation at the last minute without any notification in retaliation of our cockroach complaint. It was a blessing in disguise. I also noticed that the laundry workers are the only ones without air conditioning in the triple digit heat in the summers, and brought that to their attention. I wish they had more integrity.

I want to start off by saying that staff were kind, caring and friendly. Which is about the only good thing I have to say about this Establishment. We were in town for a baseball tournament, which is very common for this hotel and area as the Bettplex is not far. We had planned a 3 night stay and only lasted 2.. Our first night we checked in late afternoon went right to baseball and didn’t return until close to midnight.. Our room had an odor but the air had not been on or circulating so we assumed it was just stale old hotel room smell. We went to bed turning the air on.. We figured out quickly that the air was broken and no air was circulating at all. We did have windows that opened so we were able to open them. However it was raining overnight so we couldn’t get good circulation.
When we woke up the next morning as we were cleaning up around the room and opened the curtains we found A DIRTY DIAPER behind one of them. Everyone one in our room is over the age of 9.. We do not use diapers.. We went to the front desk and they told us they were unsure if they had another room for us as there were lots of tournaments going on.. The hotel was not very full, I’ll just add… They did end up switching us rooms around 12 or 1 that day.. Talked with head manager Michelle and was told she was comping our room for that night..
We went to the new room and the air was working. We moved our stuff and went on to our baseball games.. Came back around 7/8 that evening and found that next to the bed was shelled sunflower seeds like someone was eating them and spitting them on the floor.. Also our bathroom sink was clogged.. Went to the front desk..management was not there but spoke with lead at front desk and they came and vacuumed the sunflower seeds up and sent a gentlemen to unclog our sink. He said he unclogged it, apologized for the inconvenience and left. We went to brush our teeth, sink is clogged again. The guy was back 3/4 times unclogging the sink..he was there until 11/12..We were tired went to bed..
The front desk said they couldn’t comp our room for this night but would give us 20% off because management was not there and they couldn’t make that decision.. Woke up in the morning and there was water under the sink and behind the toilet and in front of the shower.. and the sink was still clogged!!! Went back to front desk, management still was not there. The lady at the front said that she saw no notes that we were getting comped for our room the first night but that we did ask for it!!?? We could talk to management when she came in, which was later that afternoon when we would be at the complex having games.. I left our numbers and emails.. We never talked with management.. She NEVER CALLED.. They offered us a King jacuzzi suite but there was no way we were taking the chance on another gross room.
We checked out ending our little time away early, sad inconvenience.. We were charged $98 for a 2 night stay that should have not cost us a penny… I will never stay here again nor any other Best Western for that matter. The other guests in our party in other rooms had issues with Ants, leaks and toilets etc… When I was checking out the guy in front of me was checking out as well he stated he had pictures of things left on his hotel room floor that should have been cleaned, the lady at the desk said.."You should have shown us that at the beginning of your stay, as there is nothing we can really do about it as your checking out"… NEVER AGAIN….

I am very disappointed in this stay. I've stayed at this facility before and rated it very well. My most recent visit, not so much. My first night was met with a family or families running through the halls, falling down laughing and talking loud constantly and it was well after midnight. I thought that the next night would be better. Not so much. The guest on the 3rd floor were moving furniture, seemed to be wrestling across the floor, loud booms out of nowhere. It was constant. I went to the front desk and explained the situation to the clerk and it appeared that she became very offended that I complained about the noise. She alleged that they were about to eat because they had just ordered Papa John's and that's why it sounded like they were moving furniture. It was much more than moving furniture.
I explained to her that I needed to be up at 3 a.m. to drive to Chicago for my flight. She attempted to look up another room for me but only had a single King Bed. I am traveling with my 17 year old daughter and my 21 year old son. One bed will not work. She offered to call the room but told me that they may push back because quiet hours start at 10 p.m. That comment is very contradictory as I stated that the night before the family or families were allowed to make as much noise as they could and it was well after midnight until at least 3 in the morning. I asked the clerk for a business card and she gave me one with Celena ** name. I am not sure if it was her name as she was not wearing a name tag. The rooms are great value; BUT the property is a dump. It promises a 100% smoke free environment but they allow everyone to smoke 24/7. The ground is covered with cigarette butts, and the open balconies are full of homeless vagrants who smoke and spit 24/7. The hotel's parking lot is full of homeless people all day long with them detailing their cars, partying and hanging out in the parking lot. Our cars were covered with trash each morning after all the partying. Loitering is permitted 7/24. There are NO signs to prevent this.
Complaining to the front office was a waste of time. They asked me to act like an ADULT! People hung out outside my room door partying and smoking, and it was allowed by MANAGEMENT. I was informed that if a person is at least 6 feet away from me, then I should allow the other adult to do as they please. Signs are posted everywhere stating NO Smoking, I saw an employee smoking right in front of it, then rip the sign off the wall. Turns out that this employee lives at the hotel with his grandparents, parents and two siblings – all in one room! Employees and long term residences roll their cigarettes from discarded cigarette butts. They roll their cigarettes right in front of the OFFICE window.
The hotel saved a lot of money with my three week stay as I NEVER used housekeeping to clean my room; I just changed linens and asked for supplies. Often housekeeping did not have the appropriate linens with them so I would need to go to the front desk to request my items so I could shower or use the facilities. By the way, housekeeping does not exchange or change linens immediately. They take your from your room, go launder them and then return them, if they remember, several hours later! I guess they do not have an inventory – this is ridiculous for a hotel. Right now, I can get a one room king suite at the Lawrence Welk Resort for $129 per night – I am paying $127 a night here! My daughter wants to stay in town.
Due to the neighborhood, the El Cajon police visited the site on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day. A lot of fights occurred in the rooms where yelling and a lot of profanity was verbalized. Management was indifferent! They just did not care enough about their jobs or the hotel. The hotel is pet friendly and a few huge pit bulls were allowed where they fought with each other in the parking lot. Their rooms had Beware of Dogs signs because they were long term residence. Several residents have cats too! Just a comment – not a concern. Maximum pet weight is 30 pounds. The pit bull I saw for 10 days was at least 100-130 pounds.
The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. Parking was free. A lot of fast food restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood is surrounding by a lot of homeless people who after dark are allowed to sleep between our cars. Poop is all over the grounds and sidewalks. I learned on day (10-11) that a lot of the guests at this hotel have lived here for years and basically they have overrun the management of the hotel. The manager informed me that she preferred guest that lived full time in the hotel instead of regular guests. She blatantly asked me to leave the hotel because she preferred the non-complainers! I contacted the Corporate Office to inform them of the issues and harassment that I have experienced and they said they could do nothing about it.
They will not permit communication to anyone other than hotel staff and the hotline. They told me that there was only one of me and three of them, so they outnumbered me – so they believe the employees. I am a disabled senior citizen with a disabled grandson. Management accused me of vandalizing the hotel, when a resident of over one year (room 305) admitted that he was doing the vandalizing. I watch several employees roll cigarettes and joints right outside of the managers office. Management stated that it was acceptable! Maybe legal but my grandkids had to step over them daily.
Every night, between midnight and 4 am, someone would knock on my door asked for the previous resident or to buy drugs. Management did not care. Sometimes management would knock on my door at 3 am to accuse me of making loud noises when we were actually ASLEEP! They overtook the room to investigate but found nothing. My rights were violated and well as a sound sleep. One night they called me several times over a two hour period insinuating that we had a water leak. We did not have any leaks, and they never came to the room – just called us constantly and interrupted our sleep. No cameras or security available to protect my family. If you do not mind living in filth and are on a budget, this place is for you. Hope you don't mind stepping over people and dog poop as well a noisy, crowded and filthy environment, as well as dishonest employees and management.

My room was both pristine and sterilized, which reflects positively on the cleaning crew. Extra sanitizer was available too. In addition, everything was in working order, including the Fitness Center, Business Center, WiFi, T.V., electricity, and my favorite, the fancy Keurig coffee maker. At some hotels, when these item and amenities are not up to par or functioning properly, it can certainly disrupt the productivity levels. In Dubai, my hotel didn’t have any water, for example. There was ample parking and security which is reassuring as well.
On an optimistic note, the morning breakfast buffet was so delicious! First 2 nights were fine, in and out all day, then on Monday in and out, no issues, until, leaving at 6 p.m. back at 9:30 p.m. to find our hotel room door left ajar.
Our rooms were located on second floor, right off the elevator around a corner, 3 rooms there and the laundry room. Walked in the room to find that it had been broken into, 1 tablet and one laptop taken along with a 36 case of Dr Pepper in their red box. Bags had been searched and nothing else taken. Didn't take the case for the laptop or power supplies, had someone called them & told them we were coming in the door? Hmmm.
Went down to front desk, requested to talk to the manager that we had just been robbed. We were told by the desk clerk that it was not possible, he would be in the next day between 11 and 4, checkout is at 11. He is the only one to look at cameras. He told us to call the police and he gave us the number. We made the call to the police and they came and took the report in the lobby of Best Western Plus.
In the meantime, we called the Best Western Corporate office, have talked to them several times in the past few days, and they took the information and said Best Western was a franchise and they could only relate it back to the Best Western hotel. Have also mentioned to them that we want to talk to the owner, told, they would pass that back to the hotel manager. Nothing has happened with that.
After police left we mentioned to the desk clerk that he might watch for anyone carrying the large red Dr Pepper box, since that would stand out, because the tablet and laptop could be concealed. Customer had come in and overheard conversation and ask us if we had been robbed, said yes and she turned around and left. Manager was watching from home, he was furious that he lost a customer, because of us.
We go back to the room at 10:30p.m., then a knock at the door by the desk clerk, the manager had called and told him to tell us "I want you to pack your bags and leave the hotel, now". 10:30 at night, we live in Kansas. And, also, the manager is on his way to the hotel. Manager arrives, very furious, telling us again we needed to pack up & leave, right now, that we lost a customer because of us, even though the customer asked us if we had been robbed.
He states it will take several hours to go through the videos and he'll do it tomorrow. He does shows on his phone what his camera shows and tells us, they're not very clear, since they're down the middle of the hall, and our room is in a little covey, no cameras at elevator or stairwells. We mention the big red box of Dr Pepper he could look for, and the other person he's brought with him, said "how do we know you even had that or the other items?" We're 68 years old, do you.
Tuesday comes, have been able to track Samsung tablet and secure it and find that it's at a Super 8, right across the street from another Best Western Plus. Met with the police there, able to create a long sound on the tablet, don't hear anything from the cars or outside rooms. Five minutes later the tablet does not show any longer, so it's probably been destroyed, which is great.
Manager of Best Western Plus calls us, finds nothing suspicious on the videos. States not responsible for any stolen items and will not refund any of the room. Requested to talk to the owner of Best Western Plus, he states "he's not required to do that". Report again to corporate office of Best Western and they state they'd put that in the file to the hotel that we were requesting to talk to the owner. Been 3 days now and no phone call. So much for Best Western vision to lead the hospitality industry in superior customer care with highest levels of service to their guest with integrity and honesty.
No one seemed to care & to me he stepped over that line telling us twice to pack up and leave. Then I told him that I would be posting this on social media and he stated "if you're going to bully me, then, I just report back how you lost me a customer". Bully, excuse me, did you forget we're your customer for the past 2 nights & we are part of the Best Western members for traveling. We had stayed several times at this Best Western Plus and the previous manager was also very polite & helpful, when we did have a problem with some issues in the room & she really wanted us to give her hotel another try & offered a free night to show that they could be better. New manager now. So, as they say on the TV Show What Would You Do with this kind of service. Sorry for the long story, but, wanted to let everyone be aware of issues out there.

My husband and I used to drive to southern Arizona every fall and return to Vermont in May. After a few trips we decided the Best Westerns were the best for the money. They were always clean and quite comfortable. I got into the habit of making notes about the places we stayed. At the end of the trip I sent a copy of my notes to AAA. They always helped us plan our trips, and they appreciated my comments. Sometimes they downgraded a motel; once a motel was removed from their book. My husband is now in the Otherworld, and I do not travel anymore. I would not hesitate to recommend the Best Westerns.

We have stayed in This BW Plaza Hotel Pigeon Forge TN 3 or 4 times. No problems before this stay. We went in May for 3 nights for our Anniversary and our son and two of our grandkids that had never been went with us. Had a fabulous time until we started to leave. My husband layed my cell phone on the bed and told me to get it. We were all taking things out to the vehicle. I went to turn in the keys. We went to the Pancake House which was about 5 minutes away. Noticed I had forgotten to pick up my phone. Called back down there and the guy at the desk remember me and called my room number.
He said, "I’ll run up and grab it and have it at the desk." Got back over there. He said that there was no phone in the room and I told him it didn’t take legs and walk off. We used my husband’s phone and it pinged at the hotel but the ringer had been cut off. My phone had been stolen and it cost me more for a phone than our three days staying there. Be aware there are thieves there.

When I complain about service my hotel keys were suspiciously disconnected from my room so I was lock outside for 2 hours, eventually end up being put straight across from the other room I had. The next day I left and came back late that night and the same thing happen. Was lock out of my room. I booked my stay through Priceline because I was traveling with a pet and this hotel was advertised as a pet friendly hotel. Priceline stated I would have to complete the pet portion of the reservation at the hotel (waiver and fee) but I had booked a pet friendly room. When I arrived at the hotel at 2am, the hotel refused to provide me with a room because I had a pet even though the sign on the front desk said pet friendly. Then the hotel stated they had no pet rooms available and they were unable to place us in our original reserved room. After some confusion the gentleman at the front desk said I was fine to stay there with the pet but I would need to pay the pet fee and sign the waiver. I was 100% okay with this because that's why I chose this location.. for the dog.
I agreed to and paid the additional charge for the pet and they issued me room keys. As soon as I walked in the room they called the phone in the room and told me I could not stay because of the pet. The front desk told me I would have to contact priceline for a refund and that the hotel manager would approve the refund. When I contacted Priceline they refused to authorize a refund and told priceline that I stayed in the room all night. I have reached out to the hotel and to Best Western corporate. The answer has been too bad and we are keeping your money. I ended up going a couple of kilometers to the Staybridge Suites. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was courteous. My wife and I were driving home from Florida after an 11 day cruise. We decided on stopping in Richmond Hill, GA and as I usually do, I went online to find a good price for a hotel before our arrival. By mistake I booked the wrong date, due to being tired I suppose and looking on my phone in a dark car. Regardless, we booked into the hotel and I had to pay for the night and the woman who checked us in told me I would have to phone Expedia to refund me for the date I booked by accident. The stay was great and we enjoyed the great breakfast included in the morning. I phoned Expedia in the morning and they told me the booking was non-refundable (news to me!) but if the manager agreed, I would receive a refund and that was likely as we did stay at the hotel. That was over a month ago.
Expedia has attempted to contact the manager countless times, and I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to resolve this matter. I even contacted Best Western personally and all they keep telling me is the manager needs to approve the refund, but the manager repeatedly has ignored all phone calls and emails. This is the only solution Expedia or the hotel or even Best Western has offered. In conclusion, I will never support either business as this is just plain unethical.

We were given a room on the 2nd floor and our folks on the 1st floor. The next day we complained to the manager at the front desk and were told there are on other rooms available. We were charged $230.00 per night per room. The bathrooms were in shabby conditions and the view was horrible. We had to look at 3 air conditioning units from the restaurant "The 3 Fishermen". The toilets were so low that you kissed your knees every time you sat down.
Since I have arthritis in my right knee, it was a rather painful experience using the toilet. Breakfast was served from 6:30am until 9:30am. Who stops serving breakfast at any hotel at 9:30am??? We travel a lot and have been to over 20 hotels in the last 3 years. This one was the absolute worst. For a room rate of $230.00 per night, this place leaves a lot to be desired. Management at 13021 N Cleveland Ave in North Ft Myers, FL is obviously clueless. This is the last time we will ever stay there, since there are too many great hotels with better offers and customer service close by.

My mom, my two young kids walked in rain for hours to wait to check in at Best Western. When we went back to the hotel to check in. I couldn’t find my driver’s license. I had another picture ID with my name. I already prepaid for the room. My mom has the driver’s license. Brandy worked at the front desk. Refused to let us check in. I called Expedia, but there is at least a hour wait time.
Brandy told me that she cannot check me in or refund me the money. She said that it is required by law that I have to show her my driver’s license. I called my husband who is a lawyer. He said that there is no such law. I said to Brandy that there is no such law, and my picture ID should work. She said my husband and I should go to the city council to check the law. I said that I need to see a manager. She said that she is the manager. I asked for her name and business card. I said that I will write a bad review. She asked me to leave and called the police. I said that she is being racist after that. We went outside to talk to other staff and asked where the city council is. She chased us off the property.
We went to the city council by walking in the rain with two young kids (one is less than 2 years, the other one is 7 years). The city council is closed as she should have known (it was Sunday). It is next to the police station. One of the police officers was called to the hotel. They told me it is not required by law, but they may have some policy. The police officers said that my picture ID should have worked. I found my driver’s license in my bag. The police officer talked to her. She refused to let me check in, but said that she would refund. The police officers were super nice when we arrived at the city council.
I called Expedia three time to get the refund afterwards. I was told that she either kept putting them on hold or just hanged up on them. Finally this morning, Expedia told me that they would refund me out of their pocket. This is not how a hotel employee treat a guest, or another human being with two young kids. I am an Asian American. I have never been treated in this way in America in my whole life! I think she was treating me as an illegal immigrants. I believe everyone in this country deserves respect and humane treatment, especially when I had two very young kids with me.
The police officer found me at another hotel to give me the business card of the owner so I can complain. I called Best western twice about my experience and texted them on social media. I just wanted a formal apology and refund. Best western refused to refund me and said that it is in the right as they need to see my driver’s license. I called the corporate office of Best Western. The person just directed me to a voicemail. I prepaid for the room. I had a picture ID with all my credit cards. My two young kids were driven out in the rain. This is not hospitality. This is inhumane. The owner/manager just emailed me back with an apology and refund. I told her to credit back to Expedia. I am very disappointed in the response from Worst Western.

I have called the Best Western Corporate offices and spoken to Ms. ** and Ms. ** in writing and verbally. They told me that the fault lies with "the individual Best Western". Best Western Corporate told me they can't help me because it's the individual Best Western's fault.
So let's get this straight.... Best Western isn't to blame because it's Best Western's fault. This was a scam from the start. I specifically paid an extra high room rate to ensure that it was flexible, cancellable and refundable. So now Best Western has $100 of my money for a service they didn't provide. They probably rented out that room to someone else and double collected on it. I see the lawsuits for carbon monoxide poisoning and bedbugs, it won't be long before there is a class action fraud suit.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus South Edmonton Inn a few months ago and were pleased with the facility so we tried to book another stay at the same property. Booking a room turned into a 2 day nightmare. I found what I thought was the web-page for the property on the internet and it listed an 800 number for reservations. DO NOT Trust the 800 numbers provided on web-pages! I thought I was speaking with Best Western's reservation desk and proceeded to make the reservation and as usual they requested a credit card to make the reservation.
We live in Ontario and I was booking a room in Edmonton so it never occurred to me that the prices being quoted were in US$. The total for the stay sounded reasonable based on the CDN$ prices that were listed on several websites for that property. Shortly after I completed the call I received and email indicating that the hotel reservation was PREPAID and was in US funds, and with cancellation policies very different than those stated on websites like Expedia. The exchange would make the cost of our stay about 30 to 35% more than if I booked directly with the hotel.
We immediately called our credit card company and after nearly 4 hours on hold gave up and tried again this morning. When we got through to them the customer service agent was very familiar with the company that had booked the reservation. They operate out of Texas. He said that technically they do not do anything illegal but that their ethics are certainly questionable. When I called back to the booking agent and told them that I had been speaking to my credit card company about their fraudulent activities they immediately offered a full refund. (I won't know for a week or two whether they will actually provide the refund).
The customer service agent at Best Western said that they try to prevent these third party booking agents from dealing with their properties and although they were aware of this particular booking agent they did accept the reservation. So I guess if there is money in it for them they don't try too hard. I reluctantly ended up making the reservation with Best Western directly because of a lack of time to find an alternative but on their confirmation email they very conveniently provide a list of all the different brands in the Best Western group which will make it much easier in the future to avoid ever booking with any Best Western property again. I’ll be spending some of my spare time in Edmonton investigating other hotels and getting their direct phone numbers.

No apologies from the manager on duty and no other help until I called the corporate office. Then I get a 20% discount... lol. Thanks for the great customer service!!!

I was VERY disappointed in the Best Western motel in Blairsville, Ga and will not stay there again. The motel is very old and has not had renovations in the room that I was in, for a very, very long time. The carpet was filthy, toilet had to be flushed 3 times before working and the worse part was when I went to bed it was like sleeping on a tarp plus the sheets were so rough that they felt like sleeping on wool sheets. I called the front desk to see if there was another room available but she said that all the beds had the same mattress covers on them. They did find one a little better the next day and it was a small improvement.
The rooms look nothing like the pics on their website and the room was dark and dingy looking and not a warm, homey look at all. The day I checked out the girl gave me my AAA discount on one night but failed to give it on my following night and since they were charging $99.00 a night, I wanted the discount. It was not corrected, as promised and I had to call to get it corrected. All in all, very disappointing and when I go back, I WILL be staying in the Comfort Inn, where I know the types of rooms that they have for the animals xavt same dollar amount. I do expect to get what I pay for and in this case that was nowhere near the truth.

We've stayed at many Best Western Hotels in our travels, and they've all been at least above average. Some have been great. But this one (Toledo South Maumee) is a shocking letdown. We booked a king room with whirlpool bath. The first room had tepid hot water. The other whirlpool room had hot water but the tub stopper was broken. We had to settle for a room with a regular tub... But no king bed, only two queens. Which would have been tolerable, except for the stink of cigarette smoke (in what is supposed to be a totally non-smoking hotel). Best Western is better than this; it's like finding a dead slug in an otherwise appealing salad.

AWFUL!! The west wing elevator smelled like mold and mildew so bad we had to take the stairs. Our room smelled like mildew as well. Fridge did not keep food cold. Ice machine barely worked and sounded awful, bathtub would not drain so you are standing in water while trying to shower. Wifi was terrible, My child stays on his iPad and he was very frustrated at how slow it was. They have no entrance to the hotel from the pool and you have to walk all the way to the front desk to check out (sign out beach towels) and then walk them all the way back to the front desk and sign them back in. VERY INCONVENIENT for vacation. The pool was very small and cloudy like it needed chemicals, the hot tub/kid pool not sure which it actually was because it was lukewarm... Also had very few chairs and NO umbrellas at the pool. Very rundown and barely a step up from a roach motel.. AKA the mold motel as we call it. Would NOT recommend.

After a long hot arduous journey it was getting late and I decided to pick a hotel in the Sonora area to have dinner, shower and get a restful sleep. The best choice was the Best Western Sonora an older but completely remolded and updated motel just off the 108. Upon entering the lobby and attempting to check in, there were issues beyond the hotel’s normal procedures that needed to be resolved before finalizing the check in.
The front desk associate by the name Sooner offered to take complete charge of every issue and solve each problem while I went to dinner; to the extent of recommending a restaurant and supplying a menu from the recommended restaurant. Sooner was the only person on duty that evening covering the entire motel and while I was gone for dinner she diligently worked on and completely solved every issue by the time I returned, making my check in seamless. The professionalism Sooner demonstrated that evening went beyond the normal workload of any motel front desk associate I have ever registered in and I’m deeply indebted to her devotion to the job; Sooner is definitely upper management material.

No one comes to clean your room, you basically have to flag down the cleaning crew for towels, come clean your room, take out the trash, and then they get an attitude when they have to do this.
My husband asked the Customer Service lady at the front desk about the staff cleaning our room. She said “They don’t have to clean your room!” So unheard of, never stayed at a hotel of this manner. He went to investigate and came back to me with a note on time the door was left open and time I got back. It was few mins apart and so on! I am unhappy! It's not about giving me a note and box of chocolates to send me away! It's also not about the few mins apart! The issue is, if I didn't come back at that time, my hotel room door is still ajar! My son and his girlfriend stayed at the Best Western on Commerce. A hotel chain that we often support, because overall it is usually a good experience with decently clean rooms. But their last trip to a Best Western (in LA) was a nightmare, they were without running water for 3 DAYS!! I initially told them they should leave but they were new to California in general and didn't quite know where to go, and the hotel promised them they would be compensated for the days without water, and just as soon as they had lost their patience the water returned.
I called and left a message for the manager and got no response. I spoke to a customer rep who let me know that if they needed a bucket of water they would have to get it THEMSELVES! Which needless to say I found quite offensive. We are not the complaining type, so we just accepted their promise of compensation and moved on.
Well here we are a month later and we are getting the run-around. First, they said call booking.com, we called them and they told us - rightfully that since they never received any money from us and just secured the booking we should get the money from the hotel. The hotel then said sure they will send it to my son's account, this never happened. Even though we received a letter that we would have it in 10 days. Can you imagine staying in a new city at a hotel and having NO WATER? And then can you imagine after going through that to not be compensated as promised? This is deplorable and inexcusable, and they should be ashamed of themselves for even allowing it to get so far that I would feel the need to place a complaint online. I am beyond frustrated, we need and deserve OUR MONEY BACK!!!

I reserved a hotel (BW plus - SANDCASTLE). The people there were great and very helpful when we stayed there. BUT - I called to make the reservation for ONE EXTRA NIGHT. Asked representative if we could use the same confirmation number - he called back to say "YES." BUT told me that they'd charge $170.99 right away to hold it. I said, OK so long as I get credit." Got to the hotel - had great stay, and got home. Luckily I checked my credit card and found I'd been charged the $170.99 PLUS a $25.97 charge and it was at the Best Western PLUS - NOT THE SAME hotel where I stayed! I called and the Customer Service person said, "Best Western can't refund anything, only the hotel itself could." (BAD idea.) She told me she'd called the hotel and was told she'd talk to the General Manager next day.
TWO days later I called the 800# and talked to another rep. She told me that the first girl never heard from the General Manager of the hotel and was waiting to hear from him!! I told her I had called that hotel on WEDNESDAY and by Friday had NOT received a call. Meanwhile My charge of about $200 is still on my card to be paid! I think this system is terrible and can't believe the General Manager ignored a customer AND a representative from his own company! So - I'm still waiting - This may be the last stay at Best Western!

So I head over to the hotel and Hector is nowhere to be found. I had to scream for assistance and then he appears. As I'm explaining the situation he just stands there with a smirk on his face and continuously tells me that I have to place another reservation and put more money down when everything was in place already. As I'm explaining the situation again he tells me that I have to talk to the manager who comes in at 7am and that I have to leave because I'm trespassing when I literally just checked out the same day. He obviously loved his hotel and his town.
The room was very nice and overlooked the Beaufort waterway. The room was larger than most hotel rooms, which was very nice, since we were spending about three nights there. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was on the smaller size, but the room size made up for this. The room was on the second floor, but there is no elevator. Just an FYI for those not liking stairs.
The breakfast was much better than average. I enjoyed it each day we were in town. Check in and check out were good. They were both quick. The person behind the desk was very friendly and represented the hotel and the town well. The best thing about the hotel was the service. Everyone had great attitudes and were very polite. I very seldom have any issues with Best Western hotels, but I am compelled to report this matter for the sake of the consumers, Best Western and its reputation. Recently 9/7—9/9, my wife and I, stayed two nights at Best Western Plus Colony Inn, 3600 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA. 93422. On arrival in room number 229, as we were getting settled, we were disturbed and alarmed to find a used condom wrapper in plain sight next to the nightstand. We began to wonder if the rest of the room was clean, which it appeared to be. So, we graciously dismissed it as an apparent oversight of the housekeeping personnel. We immediately took the used condom wrapper to the lobby to report the incident to ** at the front desk who was surprised and offered us another room which we declined, because he specifically gave us that room for its quiet location.
However, the second night of our stay on 9/8, we were very rudely awakened at 2 am. After peering through the peephole in the door, I couldn’t believe my eyes. To my astonishment and surprise there was a group of 8-10 college students sitting in a circle on the floor right in front of my door partying, laughing, talking and carrying on so loudly, with no regard for sleeping guests. I opened the door to express my anger and immediately they left. My wife and I, now upset could not get back to sleep for the next hour or so. If there was a security camera to monitor the hallway, management could have done something about this.
I sent a email complaint on 9/12/18, to the Best Western regional manager Raj ** who actually works for Core Hotels, LLC out of San Francisco, who owns and operates numerous hotel chains. I have not received any acknowledgment. I then sent the same complaint on 9/15/18, to Core Hotels, LLC and still have not received a response. I will never stay in a Best Western or any other hotel operated by Core Hotels, LLC. They obviously do not care about their guests.

Worst example of Best Western Hotels that I have ever seen in my life! The whole hotel is a construction site! This hotel should not even be open to the public. It’s dangerous and very inconvenient. Only one elevator works and the whole parking lot is filled with building materials. Worst hotel experience I have ever had! I would not stay here again if they were giving rooms away free! Makeshift front desk that is a joke! Why would Best Western allow this?

enitta ** 1/5. 3 minutes ago on Google. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life. I checked into Sherwood best Western at 6 AM Friday morning. They told me I was not to check out till Saturday morning. I ask her three different times to make sure I heard correct. Checked in around 1pm that friday, called front desk and ask how to call out locally. Manager started chewing me out. I hung up the phone. I don’t pay $89 to have a manager yell at me.
I called back an hour later to see if they had room service. She started threatening me telling me that I had overstayed my welcome. I explained to her my room is rented until Saturday morning. She kept calling me back yelling at me. I called the police. Instead of the police checking to see what time my checkout time was she intervened. I was thrown out of my room for overstaying my time when I still had 20 hours left. I wasn’t even allowed to have the time to call a Taxi or retrieve my keys to my lexus. Do you know what it cost to re-up on Lexus keys!!!
I am 55 years old with congestive heart failure and literally had to walk out of that hotel and down the road to get to my vehicle because I had taken a taxi there. I have called District and made a complaint. I’m going to my bank in the morning and then I’m contacting my lawyer as well as the lieutenant of the sheriff's department. I have never in my life seen anything like this.
I do a lot of traveling. I spend a lot of money and time in motels and hotels and I have always had a good report. But to be thrown out of a hotel that I spent $89 for Because the manager came in in a bad mood that day and did not even check my records or speak to the woman that rented me the room. Piss on Best Western. They will never get another penny from me. It’s a sad sad day when they treat their customers like criminals because they made the mess up and the mixup. And it seems I'm not the only one who had had trouble with the manager and her attitude.

She asked me several question for security reasons. When I refused to give her my phone number, she stated she would not be able to help me any further. I told her I did not want them to sell my info, so there has to be another way to verify who I am after asking me my full name, e-mail, home address, where was the last place I stayed. Now keep in mind I travel 45 weeks out of the year. So to remember where I stayed last?? Really??? When I asked for a supervisor, I was told she would give me to a supervisor. I told her I would call right back and ask for a supervisor that way or better yet would it be better I called the CEO. She laughed and said hold on... Farris desk partner got on the phone and she gave me what I wanted to hear. I hung up.
I called the CEO office Mr. Kong, I was told he will not talk to customers. (Now how does this guy get paid). I asked Stacy would it be better to call him on his cell number which is **, she stated I can do what I want. I asked if I should post his phone number on the internet for everyone to see, she stated, "You are free to do what you want." She hung up on me. Great customer service. I have been a BW Platinum customer for 5 years. I travel 21 weeks out of the year mostly for business. I decided to book a personal trip for Labor Day this year. The hotel was 440.00 for two nights. Don’t normally do this but decided to check out Travelocity. Turns out the same hotel was being rented for 240.00. I called BW and told them I could book the same hotel for ½ of the rate. Their response was, "You should have book through them." I feel they have no loyalty to their customers or they would have offered a competitive rate. Why should I pay more just because I am loyal to the BW brand?

My wife and I were on vacation earlier this year and were trying to find a hotel in the Daytona Beach area. We started the search online and found availability in the closest Best Western Hotel for $66. I put in my credit card and reserved the room for $66 charge. When we arrived at the hotel we found that there was a $33 service charge added to the bill. I was not aware that the reservation was hijacked by CCI HOTEL GUEST RESERVATIONS. I could not find any information regarding this company online. Since I agreed to the charges, my credit card company would not stop payment to this company.
I am wondering if this company is an arm of Best Western just there to increase profits. I wrote a letter to the CEO and president of Best Western and have not heard anything back. I have seen similar complaints regarding this company online. After appearing at the hotel and seeing the $99 charge, I attempted to cancel the reservation but was told I cannot cancel. I always like to stay at Best Westerns because they were a high quality outfit. I think they are far more greedy than any of the others.

This was the last $100 dollars I had to my name. She then refused to give me a refund for the night's room I already paid for. It was extremely hot outside and I waited in the lobby trying to figure out what to do while she continued to press me as to what I was going to do. We made our reservation 4 days before arrival, I called the 800# to set our reservation for 6/22 & 6/23. Nowhere does it state the hotel is going through renovations, in fact it wasn't added to the website until I mentioned it in my complaint. The Sales Manager & Hotel Manager want you to know the renovations of the rooms were done in December - but mind you, the sink to wash your hands is in the bedroom far away from the toilet area - I only know because we went to look at the room to make sure it was large enough for the 3 of us.
My mother is a senior, who recently survived her 2nd heart attack only this time flat lined at the hospital, I was taking her back to our old "summer hang out" in Mammoth Lakes CA. However, the chemical stench in the elevator was so bad, my son and my mother both had asthma attacks. When I brought this to the Hotel through the BBB, the Sales Manager and the Hotel Manager both said it was altitude sickness, even though my mother confirmed on the phone with the booking rep at the hotel it was an asthma attack to the chemicals in the elevator. Additionally the Hotel Manager implied she sees this all the time with aging travelers.
Due to the policy in place with Best Western, they still charged us $91, because their cancellation is 24 hours before arrival. My point is, the rudeness, the accusations and the smell make this hotel company one of the worst in ethics and empathy. My mother agreed to the charge, but there was no other choice, either pay the half or pay the whole. Based on health issues, I would recommend moving to another hotel as fast as your car can go. Best Western isn't anything it used to be, and Hilton has far better rates, far better accommodations and a better attitude.

Travelers Beware. We made a reservation early Tuesday morning with the Best Western Hotels for a king size bed, pull out couch, and pet friendly room. We were traveling to Michigan from Connecticut with a 15 month old baby, a 15 year old child, and a dog. We received a phone call as we were walking out the door that our reservation was not available, and their establishment could only give us a non-pet friendly room with a king size bed, a desk, and chair. So our dog can sleep where? And our son can sleep in a desk chair? Stunned we contacted their corporate office only to receive empty words of apology and a bonus $25.00 voucher. How generous of them!!!
As a family oriented business we were baffled as to how they could so easily screw us over!!! As a result of their blatant error, we now will have to have our 15 month old in the car a lot longer than necessary. And after talking with their corporate office they probably could care less about what they have put our family through, but I want future guests to be aware of Best Western's Reservation practices.

Booked hotel thru Hotel.com looking for pet friendly. This hotel was listed so I booked for 1 night. Had to prepay for room. When I arrived for check-in, I was told no pets allowed. The front staff reluctantly allowed me to stay knowing I could not get my refund back at this point. They put me in an all handicapped room which was ridiculous as the shower curtain could not close because of a permanent seating structure attached to the tub. I am not handicapped. To my surprise there were doggy stations on the premises so it was contradictory to what the front desk told me.
Next day I went to breakfast which was being cleared at 9:10 am. The laminated Guest Directory stated breakfast served until 9:30 am.The staff argued that the Guest Directory was incorrect and needed to be changed to 9 am. This was frustrating. Then I observed the employees of the hotel were eating in the breakfast room which is not professional when guests are offered breakfast. The next day a child was seen lying on the clean towels on the linen cart! These were undoubtedly children of the housekeeper. We came back here because we have always had a good experience here. The staff knows us, the breakfast is good, and it is a generally safe environment. We returned even though we were wrongfully overcharged in the past. On Wednesday, May 23rd 2018, I returned to my room to discover my key was deactivated. I went to manager **, he took 30 minutes to do what other staff members did in mere seconds.
We later learned what he did was check us out, unbeknownst to us, and checked us back in. He misconstrued the dates of the initial Reservation, and deceptively overcharged us for 2 weeks while our reservation was not yet expired. Because of him charging our card too early, and past the correct amount we accumulated additional overdraft fees. He charged us an excess of $1,074.33 (ALL AT ONCE) which is also against Best Western Policy. He then gave us a 4 day credit which no one wants to redeem. We were told he's the only one to rectify the situation, but he has been avoiding us by not coming to work on his scheduled days. ** at the front desk told us, that ** would arrive to the hotel at 10 pm on 5/25/18 to resolve the issue, but he did not come, and we were not notified.
We returned to this hotel despite the fact that this man has done this to us in the past. We pardoned those previous actions hoping that he would deal honestly with us this time around. It is difficult for us to believe that a manager would make this mistake with us twice. This leads us to believe that the overcharging and the dates of the charge was intentional. According to Hotel staff and customer service, they agree that THIS IS NOT NORMAL PROCEDURE. We are asking for further investigation, and that this be rectified professionally, and speedily. P.S, We have also NOT received our other platinum rewards items. We were supposed to receive 700 points per night from May 14th up to our check out date, which we have not been getting.

My husband and I checked into the Best Western Plus Airport in Shreveport Louisiana this past Friday on the 18th of May as we were attending a concert that evening. Check in with no problem. In fact they gave us a room upstairs because it was already available. The problems began when we got into the bathroom smells like urine, after having looked around I found out why, the toilet had a significant amount of urine on the bottom left and right side. And it look like it had been there for some time. We went on to the concert that evening, concert let out at 10, we returned around 10:30 back to the hotel, only to find there were no parking places!
There were two large trucks, one pulling a trailer and one pulling a boat, each one took up no less than 5 parking places then there was a motorhome coach parked long ways taking up six parking spaces! So we went into the clerk who was somewhat rude as she wouldn't even give me the courtesy of eye contact. Her response was, "I can't do anything about that," . We don't know who's parked there so I can't help you". I said, "Where we supposed to park, we paid $147 for this room and there's no parking!" She told us to park in the fire lane or a handicapped space.
We had no choice but to leave our car in fire lane. She really couldn't have cared less about the situation. Once we got into our room, looking down from our window, we watched as other cars coming in circling the parking lot also no parking places. They parked in the fire lane as well. When we got into our room that evening I turned on my bedside table and the only thing it did was strobe. It never would come just on my husband's turned his on and it's strobed just like the other and then his just went off altogether so we couldn't even sit in bed and read. $147 bucks,.. I'm curious what the "plus" is in their title!!
Couldn't have been more angry. Did not sleep well because of the car parking situation. So my advice is DON'T STAY AT THE BEST WESTERN PLUS AIRPORT IN SHREVEPORT, LA. THERE WAS NO BEST, AND CERTAINLY NO PLUS (unless you're talking about the extra pee, no parking, rude desk employee, and stroking nightstand lights!)

Ok let’s start from the beginning when I actually thought this hotel was going to be great... Started off with a couple calls to the hotel front desk where I spoke with a very nice young lady who lives on island. We talked about early check in and late check out times and I told her I would call back regarding booking. A couple hours later I called back to book and she asked me about being members or triple A members and she said she got us a great rate of $108 a night. I said, "Wow that’s good, what about taxes?" She says, "That’s included!" She then said, "Yes it’s a good rate considering it’s peak season and rates are normally 170 a night." I agreed what a great rate, she went over personal info and got my credit card info and confirmed the nights and we were done.
I waited for a confirmation email but did not receive one, so I called back 2 more times to request one and never got one that night. I called the 800 number and they stated the reservation was there but couldn’t send the email only the hotel could... but that my rate was different. I said must have been a mistake and I’d call the hotel in the morning since it was 10pm at this time.
Next morning I call the hotel to get the email sent and to get the rate fixed. The girl who answers gets the email sent which I get and I ask her about the rate. She said, "No matter what was said the rate is the 170 rate..." I ask her to speak with a manager. She states she is the front desk manager... I ask her if the calls are recorded and she states yes, so I ask her to listen to the call and have herself or her boss contact me...
1 hour later a man named KD or KB calls me saying he is the general manager and starts rambling off how the hotel never in its 20 yrs offered a rate of $108 a night and wouldn’t be able to stay in business if it did. I allow him to continue his ramble and state that’s not the point... And then I ask him if he listened to the call, he says their calls aren’t recorded...
I asked then why did your manager state that they were?!?! He then gets defensive (mind you I haven’t even gotten upset or raised my voice once) and he says, "I’m not going to get into it with what was said... I’m trying to fix this..." "Oh great, how can we fix this," I say... He says, "Well at this point it doesn’t sound like you’ll be happy here and we should look at putting you at another hotel?!?" Now I’m like WTH?!?!? He says he doesn’t think I’ll enjoying staying there?!? How would he know... Plus he never offered an apology or any way to “fix” the issue. He says, "Maybe you should just call corporate..." At this point I’m at a loss of words and say, "Yah I think that’s best" and hang up.
Well turns out this is the OWNER of this Best Western and guess what else? He CANCELED my reservation without my knowledge and didn’t even send an email or anything telling me that when I arrive in a few hours I won’t have a hotel to stay at!!! I contact Best Western who tell me this little bit of information which had they not this could have really been a big issues...
Do not stay at this hotel! Stay in a condo or anywhere else... Someone that owns a location like this and treats his customers the way he did should not be running a business! Never once did I expect the 108 rate once it was confirmed that it was incorrect. What I wanted was the rate that I got online that was cheaper than what I booked at... But not once did he listen or even offer to help... Sooo $10 a night just cost you a customer, bad reviews, and referrals.

My stay here was on March 7th 2018. This was a really good one cause we stayed only for a few hours. We checked in late but that's good. Then on the 12th we went and checked in late again. This was at 1 am. Now I'd think with a fully booked hotel I need my rest and get going the next morning. But now 1 am going into the room there was used silverware on the table and lights on. Just walking in I felt is don't feel right. We called front desk. The woman there was awesome. She came took it out and we agreed that would be it but, that was just the beginning.
I sat on the chair cause I felt uncomfortable. I said to my bf, "Ok I have to look at the bed." So I did and just took the sheets off and the pillow fell over with hair all over it. Then the sheet's a mess. I called the woman again and complain. Now there wasn't any more rooms at that time. So she changed the sheets. I could not thank this woman enough to make us feel comfortable. I know it's not her fault and Best Western seem to be underpaying their staff in order to have these issues. But back to it now. So clean sheets, now going in the bathroom to use the toilet there was splash all around it. Then called her again.
I can't think I am in this dirty room and all that. Come to find out it's a handicap room. Then there was someone in the room who they thought were in the room for two days. So they never cleaned it. Just fixed it. Then we try and work on it. I try to see it in a positive way. Then going back giving them another chance. This was the. 18th. Walk into the room. It was cold. I said, "I can deal with this." I just didn't want to complain again.
Now this tops it all. Going into the bed we found blood spots stained on the sheets!!! This was it. I went off on them and could not hold back. And there was nails on the floor and breadcrumbs. So the outcome to it all... we got back the money for the 12th after calling them for two weeks, and the 18th we got another room. But for this all I will never go there again. If need be I'd stay in my car than going back to this place. They need better management and cleaning crew. And better pay for these people. That's the only way I think the workers will do their job cause they all complain about it.
