I had a very bad experience with Costco Tires in Sterling. We ordered tires online and scheduled a replacement appointment for two weeks later. However, Costco called us and asked us to cancel the appointment. Our order remains unupdated, and in the meantime, we have to inflate the tires every day just to commute to work. When I called for more information, they advised me to cancel the order. This is the first time I've encountered a situation where a company asks a customer to cancel their order. It has truly been a horrible experience with Costco in Sterling, VA.

I purchased four brand-new tires from Costco at Cherry Hill NJ, with balancing and installation included in the price. The old tires removed were the original ones that came with my car, so there was no possibility of prior damage from previous tire changes. Upon receiving my car, I immediately inspected the new tires before even getting my keys back. I found that three of the four wheels had large paint chips in the exact same location—along the rim’s edge—consistent with damage from a tire dismantling machine. Since I checked the wheels before driving, the damage could not have occurred after installation.
I immediately called the supervisor, who came to inspect the damage and took photos. We then filled out a complaint form detailing the damage, and I was told the matter would be investigated. Three days later, I was contacted by an investigator from a third-party company that handles internal investigations for Costco. She asked me to send photos of the damage again, which I did. She was polite and explained her role. The following day, she informed me that my claim was denied because staff reported that an “invoice” describing the damage was created during installation. I had never received this document. When I asked when it was created and why it was not given to me, as well as whether I could obtain a copy, she told me she could not share that information.
I explained that as a customer I have the right to be informed of any discovered damage, and that the company has an obligation to notify customers of such findings—especially if they could be used to deny future claims. Her response was that the case was closed and no further information would be provided. I told her this was not an independent investigation but rather an effort to defend the company, making the process biased and compromised. In the end, I realized I had paid a high price for a so-called “free” installation. I will never use their services again, especially for a new or well-maintained vehicle.

Had my tires rotated and balanced mid July of 2025, then rebalanced early August 2025. Was getting a vibration when braking also driving down smooth highways. Took my Rav4 to a repair shop. The tires lug nuts were all torqued to over 100 ft lbs per tire. Due to this all 4 rotors were warped. I had to have a complete brake job done including all new rotors (that were less than a year old). Total cost over $600.00.

I purchased tires from Costco expecting their warranty to provide real protection, but when I actually needed it, I was told the coverage didn’t apply to my situation. The warranty sounded great at the time of purchase, but the fine print left me with no help and extra costs. I feel misled and frustrated—Costco should be more transparent about what’s really covered before customers spend hundreds of dollars. This experience has made me think twice about buying tires from them again.

I bought 4 tires at the Costco store in Bradenton Fla and they told me it would be 2-3 business days for them to arrive. It is now almost 2 weeks and still not here. Each time I call they tell me they should arrive today but they do not. Unbelievably frustrating. I will never shop there again for tires.

I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Costco Tire Center across multiple visits, and I feel it’s important to share. I went to Costco three different times for the same issue: a tire replacement due to low tire pressure. Each time, I was given a different reason that delayed the service.
Second visit (June 2025): After Subaru fixed the lug nuts, I returned to Costco—only to be told that now three lug nuts were missing. Again, I went back to Subaru, who replaced them. Later that same day, I returned to Costco expecting a tire replacement under warranty, but instead, they just patched the tire. The low-pressure issue continued.
Third visit (August 4, 2025) at the Saint Rose Pkwy, Henderson, NV location: I had a feeling they would blame the lug nuts again—and they did. I spoke with the technician and explained that Subaru already fixed them. I questioned if something might have gone wrong during one of Costco's earlier inspections or attempts to remove the tire, but got no clear answer.
To make matters worse, before coming in, I called customer service and was told they had 12 tires in stock at this location. When I arrived, staff told me they didn’t have my size and offered a “close match” instead. Very frustrating and unprofessional.
In short, this has been a terrible experience:
Repeated false or inconsistent reports about lug nuts.No proper tire replacement despite the warranty.
Poor communication between staff and locations.
Inaccurate inventory information provided over the phone.
I expected more from Costco. This whole situation has cost me time, energy, and trust in your service.

I had to wait for three hours in Woodbridge VA location to have the tires on my car rotated. After an hour and half, I checked with the front desk and they dismissively responded that typical wait time for tire rotation with appointment is more than two hours. What is the point of having an appointment if you have to wait more than two hours? After three hours, I had to contact the management of the store to intervene. With his intervention, I found out that the rotation was completed but I was not informed. I think this is how that store has been managed and the staff fear no accountability and responsibility even if a complaint was lodged.

I took in our Jeep Renegade to get new tires. We had been trying to sell this extra vehicle that had been sitting in our garage, but no one was buying with worn tires. We decided that maybe we dump some money and hang onto it for when our 14 year is ready to drive. I order Firehawk tires online. They ship quickly and I schedule an appointment online. I get a text saying they can likely get me in earlier and to call the store. They get me in 3:15 that day. Up to this point, I’m thrilled with the experience. I drop the vehicle off a little early, around 3:00. I meet the technician when walking back to my car. They are getting it early.
At 3:36 I get a call stating that they are having difficulty removing a lug bolt. Thought they would have already had all the tires off at this point. They asked for permission to use a breaker bar with the warning they could potentially break the bolt off. I granted permission as I have used a breaker bar countless times and have never broken off a bolt. The phone call lasted 37 seconds. At 4:22 I get a text that tires are installed and ready to be picked up. Keaton was prompt in checking me out and discussing tire rotation, warranty registration, etc. He reviews the notes that says that they called me to get permission to use breaker bar. At no point does he mention that the lug bolt broke. It also says LR fender scratches. He wasn’t sure what that meant. The car is not in perfect condition, and I wasn’t real worried about it. I was on my way.
I instantly take the car on the interstate to test the new tires. I run it 20-25 miles at 85mph. It is a smooth ride. I pick up my 14-year-old. I let her drive at 80 mph down the interstate. Head home happy with our purchase at this point. The next day I decide to top the car off with gas. I look down and notice there is a lug bolt missing. Shocked that this was not mentioned at checkout. I check the notes on the receipt in the glove box. I go to the driver's rear fender, there's a pretty significant scrape there that looks pretty fresh. I have several recent photos of this car because we were trying to sell. Reference the photos. Zoom in and there's nothing there. Now I'm concerned.
I call the store. They claim the fender scrape comment was them documenting prior damage. That's odd. This car has a prior salvage title. It has pretty noticeable scrapes and peeling paint on the passenger front fender. No mention of that. I'm also concerned they made no mention of the missing lug bolt. I talk to a manager who says they are going to escalate this. I need to come in and fill out a form if I want anything done about the damage. No email option.
I remove the tire with the missing bolt to see if I can get out the yielded bolt and at least make this safe to drive. I can easily remove the broken off bolt with a needle nose pliers. It was not stuck at all. Makes me think it was never stuck. My guess is they had already broken this bolt somehow when they called me 36 minutes into the installation.
I did go in to file a damage complaint. I'm not as concerned about the damage as I am the complete lack of transparency and total disregard for safety by not telling me there was a bolt missing. I'm thankful I noticed and nothing happened when I was going 85 mph. They had me fill out a form but documented absolutely nothing. Jeep was outside. No photos. Didn't even want to see it.
I honestly don't think anything is going to happen. They hope I get sick of their red tape and move on. This is my reason for writing this. I have kicked around the idea of getting tires installed by a reputable local shop and returning these. I've already spent too much time dealing with the vehicle. Maybe buy your bulk items at Costco but leave the safety of your family's vehicles to the professionals. If we keep the tires and vehicle, really questioning if this is where I want my tires rotated. I expected so much better out of Costco.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have been a Costco Customer for many years (Lost Count). Lately, it seems like higher ups have given the Tire Sales clear direction to sell everyone tires, no matter what. They promised 80,000 Warranty and my car had less than 30,000 miles on the 4 Bridgestone tires, now they are coming up with all the excuses in the world so you buy new ones and of course they will outsmart you when crediting you the old tires tread. We purchased 4 new tires for my Mini Countryman 6 months ago. The 2 front tires were worn out seriously on the outer rim and triggered a steering alarm on panel. I sent my car to the manufacturer for checking. The report was saying that the tire alignment was not properly done after tire installation and caused such damage. I called Costco, but they rejected to cover this damage due to improper tire alignment. They said they just do installation but the tire alignment is not guaranteed. I would recommend to buy the tires from Costco (because of their low cost), but remember to spend couple hundred for tire alignment. This could help the new tires run longer.

I spend over $2000 at Costco on good tires on 2 cars, while slow (they were busy each time) they took good care of business. Then I had a flat and I barely made it to my Costco tire center where I was berated by a snotty supervisor bent on teaching me a lesson because I hadn't made an appointment. I explained I did not make an appointment, the same I did not have an appointment to get a flat either. It was 6:30 PM. He said that might take until closing time. There was a single car ahead of me and no one else. No other customer showed up in the rest of the day. Yet the supervisor took until 8:30 PM closing time, I assume to make his point, since he made sure he repeated his remonstrance until the last minute. So I still think Costco Tires is a good deal, but some employees should not be there. So I recommend Costco as long as you make an appointment BEFORE you get a flat. Invoice #**.

Costco did not stand behind their warranty on my tire. Tire had 30,000 miles on a 60,000 mile tire. It was damaged in a pot hole incident. They only offered to pay $40 on a $250 tire. Very poor service. I took in every 10,000 for rebalancing.

One of the tires that I bought from Costco 2 years ago had a flat. I scheduled for an appointment for the flat fix. I was on time for the appointment but there was nobody behind the kiosk to help me. About 15 minutes later I got someone to check me in. He said it would take 1 hour to 1.5 hour to service the tire. An hour later they called to let me know that I need a new tire because the flat is not repairable, and also it will have to be ordered.
Complaint #2: They failed to put my wheel and tire back inside my car when they said my car is ready. Why would they want to keep the wheel and tire inside their shop after I agreed to pay for the new tire?
Complaint #3: Everyone who worked in the tire shop did their best to ignore my effort to communicate when I said “hello and excuse me!” This is true for the first time I walked inside for my appointment and the second time when I got back to pick up my car.

I have been going to Costco tires center, for a while. They always messed up my vehicle. They drained my transmission fluid instead of simple oil change. They left my wheel lock on my car tire, while driving. When I realized that it not in my cup holder bag. The Staff went outside and found it in the parking lot. 🤔I bought 2 sets of tires and it’s not been 2 summer yet. They want everyone to buy new tires. Costco is a grocery store and not a certified mechanic shop. They sell tires for commissions. I lost time off work, waiting for my car for more than 2 hours. Just to save $20 and this is a 30 minutes job for tires swap. Ridiculously, they want everyone to shop in Costco unnecessarily. Paying for membership and it’s not worth my time and money. Costco Tire Center in Cumming Georgia is inefficient and rude to customers. I bought tires online and made an appointment. Five days before my appointment, the tire center called and asked if I could co me in early since my tires arrived. I was able to come in one day early. I arrived before the appointment time, the tech asked for my name. He then confirmed that I was there for a balance and rotation. I felt a gut punch because I had just spent almost $900 for tires two weeks prior which was a lot of money. I told the tech that I had bought tires online and asked if they had them. He was abrupt and rude and asked me to wait a moment, then he said yes they had my tires. A tech entered it wrong when they changed my appointment. Then he was even ruder when he asked for my car model and whether it was sport or limited. I asked shouldn't he know that since I entered it into the online website. He was again ruder.
I then asked to speak to the store manager. He said, "I am a supervisor." I said, "I want to talk to a store manager." The tire manager comes out. I explained that No, I don't want to talk to him, I want the store manager. I walked to the customer service bar to ask for the store manager and the Tire manager calls the representatives name like he was going to block my request. I looked at the Tire manager and said "NO, I want the store manager."
He goes and gets the store manager. Derek comes out and I explain the reason that I want to see him is because of the error in remaking my appointment and how that has caused me anxiety and lack of confidence in his team. I also wanted to make sure that when they have their department meeting this is brought up to make sure they make change appointments accurately and look at the information in the computer because it is there and loaded based on my Vin# and Car tag. Derek was manager like and listened appropriately and noted that it could be a training issue.
Well I get my car back drive home and check them. I noticed that my wheels are scratched and dinged. I took pictures and sent to the manager after talking to him. I am very picky about my wheels and I love that they look new and shiny with the chrome design and black inlay. Not only that the scratches look new and there was a chip out of the black that looked like they hit it with the hydraulic tool used to remove the lug nuts.
The tire manager calls me back with pictures sent to my email as is standard. The only thing that matched my pictures was a possible curb check. But it was hard to tell. What I got back was that curb check, plus two more longer looking curb checks that looked rather new and felt very rough as if just done and I could not see on their initial pictures. I also did not know to take pictures myself before dropping it off so I could prove my point. I let it go with them.
I learned a lesson to take pictures myself before dropping off my car for a tire change. I am very picky about how my car looks and I feel like they purposely damaged my car because I asked to talk to a manager about their initial screw up. I also learned to wait until service is done to make the complaint as well as never get tires from the Cumming Costco Tire Center.

Took car into Costco for simple tire replacement. I didn't even get out of the parking lot or sight of the Costco worker without knowing there was serious damage. Stopped the car and filed a complaint immediately. Two weeks later Matthew from Gallaher Basset, their liability company called and said they denied the claim and Costco did nothing wrong (total lie). Fortunately I took my car directly to a shop from Costco. They had damaged the bracket that holds my break line. It could of been deadly as it could of caused my breaks to fail. Just play it safe if you value your life or the lives of your family. For me it worked out, all was fixed by this other company (out of my own pocket). I hope others in the future will be so lucky. I had a 1:45 PM appointment and arrived early. The technician was attending to another customer and by 1:30PM, my order had been processed. After about 15 minutes, I got a call from a number that did not show it was from Costco. I answered the call and say "hello" several times, but there was silence at the other end after which the call was dropped by the caller.
A few seconds later, another call came from the same number. I suspected this might be a spam call, so I did not answer it. I waited for about an hour and then checked with the technician if the work had been completed and he said yes. Line up out the door and each person takes at least 10 minutes so do the math. Dropped car off and waited. After 1 hour my car hadn’t even moved from where I left it even though I had a 9:45 appointment. Guy in front of me in the line came in off the street without an appointment and a flat tire. He was in and out before my car moved. I complained to manager and he just kept saying they had a 2-hour window. Figure it out. 4 bays, so only make 4 appointments for every 45 minutes so customers don’t have to hang around for two-plus hours.
Returned later for my 40km torque. I parked in front of the bays and I was told I had to go line up to get paperwork again. Steve, the supervisor was standing there with the torque wrench and could have had me out in 5 minutes. I lined up for my torque paperwork only to be told that it was unnecessary and I should have just pulled up to the bays and asked for Steve, the supervisor. He was the guy who told me I had to line up.
When I came back I asked him why he told me I had to line up again. He ignored my question and asked if I had the tool to take my lug nut covers off (not locks) I said I didn’t know but I would look. He came back with needle nose pliers which worked as well as any tool I could have had. Again, I asked him about lining up and why he had to be so difficult? I bought 6 Michelin tires for my GMC Dually. Tires are great. Installation not so good. The tire technicians improperly mounted the wheels after I left specific instructions as to how they should be mounted to allow pressure to be checked regularly. You must mount the outside wheel so you can reach thru the hole in the wheel to reach the inner tire valve stem. After pointing out the issue, the technician attempted to correct the issue only to make the problem worse by aligning them, thus blocking the path to the inner tire with the valve stem of the outer tire. I understand this is a dually light truck, but it is also not rocket science and any competent tire shop should be able to properly install six tires and wheels.
I was so frustrated I left and corrected the issue myself. I was also charged for TPMS sensors even after pointing out the truck does not have TPMS. Day of the appointment I wait 2 hours past my appointment time for it to be completed where they then come to tell me they broke the handle off my driver side door and that I needed to fill out an incident report. I get home and find a wheel cap had also been broken off and placed in my center console with no mention of it to me from the employees. The manager says that it should all be mentioned in the service report, which nobody ever gave me when I left. The manager who I spoke to had zero sympathy, never apologized and simply kept repeating “this happens”. Horrible customer service.

Tires were okay but the installation was hORRIBLE. They snapped off a lug bolt on the first installation of the new tires. Around $500 to replace on the front wheels of a CRV. We ate that expense as we felt it may have been the fault of the OK tire we took it to previously. We brought car in several months later to have tires rotated for "FREE" as they say and they snapped off another lug bolt on the same front wheel. Another approximately $500 to have a new one put on and Costco says it was all the fault of the other places who installed the tires. So $1000 for tires and $1000 for installation and rotation. Rather gun shy about the whole Costco tire experience. Expensive, frustrating and very time consuming. I will add that the Costco employee we spoke with was sympathetic. Unfortunately it was turned over to insurance adjusters.

Service was fine, if ridiculously busy. When we picked up the car, all 4 wheels had been damaged by their equipment and we filed a claim. After several months of ignored calls and the run-around from the claims department, the claim was denied. Brand new car, new wheels that they damaged and refused responsibility for. Regardless of the perceived discount, Costco tire center should be ashamed and so should the corporate office. Unprofessional local management, claims service and a large expense that wipes out decades of 'savings' through the brand. Take your business elsewhere.

My experience with Costco Tire Center in Selma, Tx. has been the worst experience I’ve ever had while purchasing tires. We decided to give Costco tire center a try due to many years of horrible experiences with other big-name tire centers. This was a huge mistake on my part and wish I would’ve stayed with the other tire dealer. I had an appointment set for 2:30 pm and showed up 30 minutes before the appointment to ensure my vehicle was checked in, in a timely manner. The technician mentioned it would be an hour to an hour and a half to complete the tire installation. I said no problem because I had shopping to do. 4 hours and 30 minutes later they finished. Before driving off I mentioned to the technician that the tire sensor light was still on, like all tire shops the technician said I had to drive it a few miles for the sensors to calibrate.
I drove out of the parking lot and the light turned off. 30 minutes later the tire sensor light came back on and the technician called me and said if the light was still on then I would need to bring it back because he overlooked all the sensors and forgot to install 1 sensor due to being left in his pocket. I told him I could not make it back and would have to go back the following day. The technician said that would be ok and to just go back when available and let the associate at the front counter know what the issue was and they would get the tire sensor in ASAP. The technician also mentioned he had notes written down in their system to let others know just in case he was not available or not at work that day.
My wife ended up taking the vehicle back to get the sensor installed and was appalled by way she was treated, the lack of communication and zero notes left for the technicians to let them know what the issue was. My wife and daughters waited 4 hours again for them to install the tire sensor they forgot to install during the tire installation. I ended up calling the tire center due to my wife having to wait 4 hours for a tire sensor to be installed and the person I talked to said we didn’t have an appointment so we had to wait due to having 5 vehicles in front of us. Long story short we will never purchase tires from Costco ever again and those thinking about doing so just save the headache and wasted time spent there and go elsewhere.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Bought 4 tires and they cost me over $1k but I thought warranty would be worth it. Two years later on a long road trip I got a nail in my tire with no nearby Costco so we fixed it by the side of the road until we could get to Costco. When we finally got in they refused to fix the tire because we had fixed the flat ourselves and the only choice was to give us a brand new tire for a prorated price of $200. I asked why he couldn’t just repair it free under the warranty but he stated that by fixing ourselves it voids the warranty.
There is nowhere in the warranty that states that. I spoke to the tire center manager who did nothing, and the general manager of the warehouse also told me the tire center did the right thing and he couldn’t do anything else to help. I will never buy tires from them again, I could have gotten the same quality for $700 somewhere else since their warranty is useless and misleading. There's very little eye contact when you try calling them. The phone rings and rings.. No answer, When you walk up to the desk no one's ever there and there isn't a bell or anything so people stand around and wait for service for a long time. I asked if they could check on this zip tie that I had to put on my car near the right front tire, and attendant said that they were not allowed to touch anything else on the car. Again, I don't think they have my best interest at heart. There are 2 other Costco's within 45 minutes of me. It can be a hit-and-miss. Generally, I am satisfied, except recently I experienced retaliation/discrimination for casually mentioning to another member their tire center didn't always balance or install tires correctly. I ended up going to another location and noticed a night and day difference in the way the employees interacted with customers and the quality of service. Recognizing that each location is individually managed but under a regional manager, I dare not write to them about incident based on the intimidation and retaliation received.
The local manager was very smug about denying any further service without explanation. I have been a member since 1990 and never been treated like that before. I wished I had a body cam with me. I was not impolite, loud or rude and left quietly. Considering this is a one-off event, it still makes me very disappointed as a long-time member. If there was Sam's club nearby, I would have considered another membership. I noticed that the workers at that location also acted indifferent so maybe they are being bullied by the managers. I will just have to go to another location for time being.

I had purchased tires from Costco in the past and, after getting a puncture in one, took it to a tire center near my work. I was fairly confident it was still under their 60-month warranty but was expecting they might not honor it and I was ok with that. They told me it fell outside of warranty and needed to be replaced. They also said one of the others was legally bald and they recommended replacing all four. I said I disagreed about the warranty but that was fine. As for the other tire, I said there was no way it was bald. They said it measured at 2/32nds which was illegal. Again, I disagreed. I didn't tell them but I am in law enforcement and am a trained investigator in many disciplines including tire forensics. Plus I carry a tire tread depth gauge on my person. But I did know the tires were about 6 years old, wearing on the outside edge a bit, and I'd be replacing them in the next 6 to 18 months. So rather than argue, I said fine and to go ahead with replacing them.
They then said my membership was expired. I put my foot down and said no it wasn't. They said it hadn't been paid in 3 years. Now questioning their competence, I told them they were looking at my old membership. They apologized. Upon pickup, I asked to see the "illegal" tire. I told them the tread wasn't even worn to the wear bar. They pointed out it was worn on the edge. I said it still had plenty of tread across the contact surface. I didn't even need to pull out my gauge to see that. They said, "well it isn't serviceable." I explained that tire didn't need service and was still legally viable and could have been for some time. It was absolutely not against the law to drive on that tire (or the other two that were less worn than that one). No police officer could write an equipment violation for that tire and have it stand up in court if contested.
I don't believe they earn a commission but I am willing to bet they have sales goals and probably incentives. I worked in customer service and sales prior to going into law enforcement and I am a very patient and compassionate consumer because I know it is a tough job. But the staff were rude, interrupted me regularly and didn't listen, were condescending (maybe because I am a woman?), and they are engaging in unethical practices by telling customers something is illegal when it is not. I really wish I had taken a picture of the tire. The service I received has caused Costco Tire Center to lose another customer.

Bought tires from Costco and made appointment for installation. Went to pick up car and was told that I needed new tire pressure sensors and lug nuts but they were not in stock, and to make new appointment for them. Made an appointment when sensors were in stock and asked about lug nuts. I was told the tire dept. would not know if they had compatible lug nuts for my vehicle until they took wheels off. I asked if I could order and bring along lug nuts and they said yes. Went to pick up car and was told my hubcaps were in back seat because lug nuts were not compatible with them. I said I did not want to drive around with no hubcaps and was told to go buy new ones.
I wish I had asked for my original lug nuts to be given back to me. I was not contacted and asked if I wanted the lug nuts not compatible with hubcaps to be installed. I went home and the "guaranteed to fit my car" lug nuts from Amazon ad now stated "guaranteed to fit my cars aftermarket wheels". I don't have aftermarket wheels. There was a picture showing that the lug nuts are not safe for my original equipment steel wheels as there is only four winds of the lugs when screwing into my wheels. This is extremely unsafe and the wheels can get stripped out as a result and the lug nuts then come off along with the wheel.
I called Costco Tires and the supervisor insisted that the lug nuts were safe for my car and that it is not possible that the employee who put them on my car would make a mistake because he had worked there so long. There was no offer to check the fit of the lug nuts. Two of my hubcaps were missing their wire installation rings and the rep. stated that they must have flown off when I was driving. This is not possible, since the wire rings are between the tire and hubcap, and the hubcaps did not fly off. I stopped by the store and an assistant general manager had a "plan" to solve the problem.
He had a tire installer walk out to the parking lot and without even bending down to look the installer declared that the lug nuts were the correct ones for my car. He refused to remove one in the parking lot and said that Costco wanted to replace all the lug nuts so I would feel my car was safe to drive. Costco replaced my 20 lug nuts with 20 lug nuts that were identical to the ones that are not compatible with my wheels and hubcaps and sent me off. The manager asked if I knew for sure that Costco lost the wire rings on two of my hubcaps and I said no. He said I was responsible for replacing them since I had no proof that Costco lost them. I'm exhausted with this awful situation that has yet to be resolved, and I do not look forward to further interactions with Costco employees who are so aggressive with their customer service tactics. The fifth call was successful in getting a service provider assigned, after another hour hold.
The service provider assigned, Qualified Service Systems, allowed a 4 hour window to get to the house and they showed-up 2 hours AFTER their window allowed, forcing me to take the entire day off work. The tech. walked in, claimed he would "clear the drain line" and left in literally 5 minutes, saying if the leak was not fixed, call the office. The leak was not fixed, so I called the office and they responded that "the unit was inaccessible" but it was "repaired". Of course, the unit was NOT "inaccessible". They told me to call American Home Shield once again for another service provider if I wasn't happy.
After three more calls to American Home Shield, another service provider was assigned AFTER I paid an ADDITIONAL $100 service call fee...for the SAME issue. They gave me a "window" of EIGHT HOURS, requiring another full day off work. The technician came in and said he couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from and so he couldn't repair it. American Home Shield offered no resolution.
I called a local a/c company at my full expense, they came within a couple of hours and repaired the unit. So seven phone calls, two days off work and $200 in service fees (PLUS the regular annual premium I paid of $900), resulted in no repair by American Home Shield. I was there at 5:40, signed in, waited until 7:37 when I got a call from Costco saying the tire was damaged beyond repair because I drove on it while it was flat, therefore I would have to pay for a replacement tire. I never even drove on it, it was flat in my driveway. When I asked why it was flat in the first place, he said they hadn't looked. So, according to them, the tire got a nail hole while sitting in my driveway and then was damaged beyond repair because I drove it around flat, while it was still in my driveway.
Finally told me that they would order a replacement tire (which I am confident was because they were wanting to close for the night and go home) and would waive the installation fees so I "ONLY" had to pay about $50. I said “No”, because I purchased that 2 years ago for $178. I then took my Lexus to Firestone. Firestone remove the tire from the wheel and removed the screw from the tire. The screw hadn’t even gone through the tire. Firestone put a patch onto the tire anyway as precaution. Because of all the trouble and headache, I will not try to save $150 to get Bridgestone tires for our cars from Costco in the future.

I did torque check in Costco tires in the morning, and in the afternoon my daughter drove the car ON A STRAIGHT ROAD and the tire came off the rim and she lost control and skidded and hit a pole. Costco claims the tire came off because she lost control and hit a pole, not the other way around! Google says that the most probable cause for a tire to come off the rim is loose wheel lugs. What is the chance that the accident happened on the same day a few hours later as I did torque check on my wheels and my daughter's driving on a straight road caused the tire to come off!!?? Not only Costco Tire Center worker did a lousy job which could result in a damage to my child and possibly other people, they refuse to accept responsibility. Therefore at $1.09 each, it takes six Tamales to comprise a standard serving of 2 REGULAR TAMALES. That is $6.54 for a breakfast serving. These Tamales are super thin and not very wide. Bad value. They were purchased online from Costco. I had asked for a 50% adjustment on the price. They rejected this, outright. You can learn from this as did I. The warranty was 75K miles and I drove only 46K miles!
I called them and explained it's only 46K miles driven. This time he said, "Warranty is invalid because you missed tire rotation." I talked to the manager, and no consideration for at least some concession. I never missed any rotations. Only one rotation, my Lexus car dealer did that. Their idea of a sidewall is where it is in constant contact with the pavement (not making sense). For my second visit, I found the nail in the middle of the tire. I figured they couldn't opt out of this one. I get a call saying they found another leak - you guessed it.. in the LOL "sidewall" and the tire couldn't be repaired. I took the tire home and soaped it up myself.
This puncture was so incredibly minor that you would have to study the tire for hours just to find the microscopic bubbles. I think costco tire guys are incented revenues (new tires). You can draw your own conclusion on the source of the "sidewall" leak. On the positive side, for my most recent set of tires, I purchased elsewhere and I can plug my own tires now. There was one real issue, I had a broken stud. Instead of saying, we'll not mount tires if the vehicle has a broken stud. The technician made up a bunch of nonsense to justify refusing service. The proper way to handle this is, 1) have a policy that states the company will not put wheels on hubs with a broken stud. This should be stated clearly when scheduling the appointment, not randomly by a technician. 2) Hand the owner the policy so they have it in writing. Instead the Technician fabricated issues to make it seem like he was justified in not performing the service. Also, he listed the device as AWD which it is not. Surely, if he had it on the lift, he could tell it was RWD only.
Is Costco Tire service reputation bad because Costco as a corporation doesn't know anything about Auto service or are the lawyers getting in the way of good, common sense service. The Costco technicians put the same wheels back on, put one wheel with a deflated tire on and didn't have the decency to inflate it to proper pressure. Secondly, I bought new tires because the old tires are OLD with little tread. Which is better, put new tires on or put the old tires on? They took the one or more of the wheels off, then put them back on while claiming they could not put new tires on the same wheels. So, despite the fact I've been a long time Costco customer, they treated me poorly. Just dishonest, bad, stupid, decision making and service. I can mount these tires myself in the garage, I just don't have a balancing machine. What happens next? If I take them in for balancing will they say they can't balance the wheels because they didn't put them on?

My son and his 8 month pregnant girlfriend met me there since they drive the van.
We arrived 4:30 PM. Dropped the van at the tire center and I found out that the tires for my Cadillac were also in. So I said to the tire center manager Justin who was helping Us that maybe I could get those tires put on today also. He said he was alone and it would be a while so I said, "No Problem. I will make an appointment for another day on those." He also said that his lifts only lift 10,000 pound and it might be a problem with our van. I checked and our Van is Curb Weight at 6,408 lbs. Shouldn't be a problem. We left to go in and shop.
About an hour and a half later I get a call from the tire service that he can't install our tires and to come back to the tire center. He said the van is too heavy and he can't put it on his lift according to the paperwork or something. So he tells us we can get a refund of the installation and take the tires with us or they will refund everything. I said OK I'm not happy, This should be disclosed that vans and larger SUV's tires will not be installed, but I will take the tires I guess and have them installed somewhere else. He takes me to customer service for the refund and leaves. The nice lady at customer service asks me all the details and then calls over her Manager who used to be the manager of Tires. He comes over and I explain the situation and he says he will go to wait and he will go over and speak to the tire center guys.
He returns and informs me that he spoke to them and they will install our tires. It is now around 6:15 PM and we have a full shopping cart, we spent around $350.00. We are sitting at the tables by the customer service and food court on the hard benches. almost 2 more hours go by and I take a walk outside to see if they are working on our van and No Not Yet. At this point my Son looks in our cart and Sees that there is a Skirt Steak we bought for $33.38 and it is warm and has been sitting for about 3 hours and I decide to return it since I wasn't expecting to be sitting here this long and with his girlfriend 8 months pregnant, he doesn't want to risk eating it.
At this point the young manager sees us still waiting and is like your still waiting. They refund the steak and she calls her boss the other manager back who proceeded to go back to the tire area to see what was going on. He comes back and apologizes and says their manager isn't in Today, but he would speak to him about this and they are working on it now. Around 9PM I decided to get a refund for the other tires I ordered for My Cadillac as I was not going through this Again!
When I told the Manager this I said I would get it from BJ's or another Company, He Said but their price is higher than Costco's. Honestly Saving $100 Isn't worth the 5 hour Wait and Treatment I received. It was evident that they did not want to install our tires and since they were told they had to by that manager they were going to punish us by making us wait till the end. - Communication issues: the appt says 45 minutes, but when I’m there in person they say 1.5 hours. If I knew that I would have scheduled my day differently and had someone pick me up or at least brought a book.
- Customer Service issues: There was nobody at the desk for 20 minutes. I was 10 minutes early for my appt but didn’t talk to someone till 10 minutes after. I thought for sure they were gonna turn me away AGAIN saying “we don’t have your tires yet” even though I made sure to call the day before to confirm. But I wouldn’t put it past Costco Tires to screw that up after all this. And finally…
- More Communication issues: my appt was at 12:30pm today and for some reason their system sent me 2 automated texts reminding me of my appt at 3:30am this morning. I already got babies at home waking me up in the middle of the night and don’t need Costco texting me at 3:30am waking me up too. I can understand a text 48 hours before appt or 24 hours before or just 2 hours before but not 3:30am. I don't remember how many sets of tires I bought from Costco. In the beginning, the services were excellent, and suddenly go south. I remember when I had flat tires, I just need to drop by the Costco tire department and they would repair the tires immediately and put fixed tires back to its place. It should be this way for an emergency since you can only use spare tire in a short time. Now if you have a flat tire to be repaired, you can drop the tire there and they don't fix it right away. You pick it up the fixed tire later, then you have two choices:
2. make an appointment for them to do it.
This is the way Costo tire departments handle your emergency. Imagine you have a flat tire in the freeway and you call AAA. Does AAA tell you to make an appointment for the emergency service? My advice to Costco: If you can provide good services then get out of the tire business.

I was so frustrated during my last visit to Costco tire center and decided never visit them again. Long story short: Tire center personnel have refused to install the new tires on a front of my front-wheel drive vehicle per my request. They explained to me that Costco policy requires new tires installation on rear only for driving safety reasons after multiple customers' complains on accidents while new tires were on a front. Costco concluded that new tires are safer on rear. Those statements was a simple lie.
In fact, after talking to the store manager I learned that this practice has nothing to do with safe driving. While on a front, the tires wear out faster than warranty could guarantee and many customers request replacements. This brings losses to Costco and tire manufacturers. So the manufacturers requested Costco to install new tires on rear only to extend their life and avoid replacements. I believe this practice is not just misleading, it is dangerous. For front-wheel drive vehicles new tires on a front provide the best grip, steering and stability during a bad weather. Costco is protecting profits and not drivers' safety. Moreover, tire manufacturers claim warranty mileage which they cannot provide.

I live in hill country and use my truck for work and sometimes have loads... at the arrival to work I hear the infamous grinding coming from my front tires... my brake pads were shot and grinding into my rotors.... all it takes is 2 seconds to look at the disk brake pads when a tire is off.. Something every other tire shop I've been to does and lets you know the condition... given they also do brakes but when they warn me they are low I do them myself...
Costcos' tech who seen my truck could have spent 2 seconds to say, "Hey you need new pads soon.." instead I'm sent on my way...any amount of money I saved from the "better price" was lost in new rotors, time and loss of my work vehicle...I will never buy tires here in my life... shame on me for not supporting the local guys... and having techs that check the integrity of the brakes and other parts necessary for safe driving.... He happened to be close to the Costco where we purchased the tires so he took it in. Upon looking at the blown tire they mentioned that they do not stock and will not order tires for the Honda Odyssey anymore and if you want to use the warranty of the tires then you have to go to a Costco approximately 40 miles away as they have a few in stock.
Needless to say went to America Tires and replaced all Michelin Tires with Defenders which was the correct tire for the Honda Odyssey to begin with. Price after installation charges, which Costco does not charge for, was only approximately 1% more than Costco with the exact tire that should go on to the Honda. From now on will go to America Tires for all of my tires, as they have offices throughout the US and it is easy just to go to any shop and have them repaired. First, the radio channel was changed and is blaring some insane music, the seat back is reclined backward, the heater is on high, and the console computer that syncs personal phone and has map functions had been tampered with- essentially this person was more concerned about prying into my personal affairs rather than do a tire change.
Online, I complained about being violated in this manner and I got a bizarre response email that I could have my old tire back and they would give me a replacement tire filler I had used to maintain pressure in the tire so that it could be driven. They never addressed the issue of a predator violating my privacy. Turns out, the tires were not properly balanced since this guy wasted time playing with the console functions to check my phone numbers and destinations. I had to spend more money to get the tires balanced properly since I went elsewhere- was not going to trust Costco to get in my car again. I will never go back for any vehicle service at Costco.

Stopped and checked all 4 tires were good. Brought back to Costco and were told that 2 of the TPMS are bad - he mentioned that because of the aging. How come I have never replaced them in the past but only two but not all four. Was installation issue? I wished that I could ask for the bad one for evidence.

We've bought tires here more than once because the prices were good. They offer free lifetime rotation but when we tried to use it they made an excuse about them being unable to because of uneven wear. That's precisely why you rotate them. They also have this weird policy about putting the best tread on the back axle, even on FWD cars. Their reasoning was the back end is lighter and needs the better tread. What??? I guess that cuts down on the free rotations. In the future I will make more of an effort to go to a real tire shop.

They no longer provide this service. So it took them 1 1/2 hours to tell me they would not plug the tire. He also would not sell me 1 new tire. He told me I needed to purchase 4 new tires at a cost of $1000.00. I then took the tire to a local garage and he told me in 5 seconds that he will plug my tire. I purchased 2 new Bridgestone tires for the front a couple of days ago from the East Hanover, NJ Costco. When I went for the replacement as per my appointment, the mechanic said I can't find a special key in your car which is required for replacement. I went to the dealer as my car is new and they should provide me the key. The dealer shown me the key along with the toolbox inside the car. I came again at the Costco Etobicoke Tyre Center. I asked how come your mechanic could not find the key? It is there in the car inside toolbox.
The person at counter said it is your responsibility to find the key and keep it ready on the passenger's seat. Then only we can replace the tyres. We are not gonna search the key. I am very much surprised by this behaviour as we customers are not Mechanics and have zero knowledge about what is required for the replacement of tyres. Then I asked if it is ok to take the car to fill in the gasoline while waiting and my car key was literally thrown at me by service desk person :(. We were also told that the cell phone reception is not the greatest in the store. After 2 hours (at the time the store is closing) the car was not in and I was offered to come the next day morning or wait outside until it is done - the weather in Calgary is cold and it was -3 C outside. I refused to wait outside and explained that I need to work the next day and was not planning the tire replacement, so we together with 3 more customers were waiting in the empty store. Bottom-line, if Costco can't schedule and provide tire rotation to any customer within a reasonable amount of time (2-3 days at most), they either needed to get more help, extend their hours or stop selling tires. I have purchased tires from Les Schwab and they accept drop-in tire rotations everyday and normally get you in/out within an hour or two. They asked who worked on the car last because there was a broken stud on a front wheel. Told them it had to have been them. Took it in a few weeks ago because it wasn't riding well and asked them to balance tires. I gave them a "heads up" that one stud would be broken but couldn't remember which front tire.
They found me in the store within about 15" and said they were having trouble taking lugs off and didn't want to risk breaking any more studs because if they broke two on the same wheel, the car wouldn't be safe to drive. Well ... I took the car to my mechanic and guess what they found. A broken stud on a front tire and THREE (3) broken studs one of the rear tires. There are only 5 studs. That wheel could have failed at any time when I was driving it. I truly could be dead. Will NEVER use their tire center again and advise caution for those people that do.

Costco tire complaint. I went to Costco to have them put a set of winter tires on my car that I purchased at the same Costco the previous year. I had to park way back in the parking lot because the place was so busy. When they had an open bay for the installation, they asked for my keys. I told them I was parked at the far end of the lot and that I would pull my car up to the bay door and then they could drive it in.
A service tech went with me to my car and informed me he would drive my car to the bay. I objected, and said, "I’ll pull my car to the bay door and then you can pull it into the bay". He stormed off back to the building. I drove me car to the bay door, and rolled my window down to ask him which bay door to park behind. He proceed to scream at me about “what I wanted to do”. I got out of the car and asked him again which door he wanted me to park by. He got into my vehicle and swung out into parking lot traffic, then attempted to turn left into the service bay with no signal light on. Numerous cars almost hit my vehicle as he blared the horn at them. Other customers were stopping and staring at this spectacle.
Finally he rapidly drove my vehicle into the service bay as I stood there watching, rather shocked at these events. He then walked up to me and said, in a hostile manner, “no one ever ask to do what you did. Ever.” Really? No one else has ever been concerned about their vehicle being driven in a busy parking lot by a stranger? I would think this would be in the best interest of Costco, as the service tech obviously was not a proficient driver, as evidenced by his treatment of my car and lack of communication to other drivers when attempting to pull my car into the service bay. I responded by saying “ I guess there is a first time for everything.”
I was so shocked and angry by this point. I was tempted to go into the bay and drive my car out, but decided to speak with a manager first. I asked for the service manager, however he was unavailable. So I asked a line checker to see if they could call a store manager for me. They did. The manager was sympathetic and assured me that the situation would be handled. I figured that was the end of it. Nope.
I received a call from the tire department informing me that there was something “wrong” with my lug nuts. This is strange, I thought, because they are the same nuts the car has had since I purchased the vehicle brand new, years ago. I went into the service department and asked what was the issue, and should I go into the shop in the back to see what the problem was. She guided me to where my car was, and another service tech was standing there with his hands in his hips.
I asked him, “so there is something with the lug nuts? I’m not sure what the issue is here...” He, visibly shaking, proceeded to inform me in a highly officious manner that “your vehicle makers special lug nuts are stripped and worn, so I don’t know where you had your car or who you bought it from used, but they are damaged.” I responded by telling him the car was purchased new by me, and the only place where the tires had been swapped was Costco last year when I bought the winter tires”. He glared at me and almost yelled “I would appreciate some respect. Don’t disrespect me!” Stunned by this completely outrageous response, I told him not to “disrespect me either”.
Eventually I ended up buying a new set of lug nuts from Costco, and got my vehicle out of there in once piece. This has got to be the most outrageous, hostile, and completely unprofessional experience I have ever had as a customer. I cannot believe that this organization is still in business. Heed this as a warning should you ever decide to use Costco as a tire service Center.

We were having our tires rotated and the mechanic noticed that a front tire was separating which may have been causing another tire to be wearing abnormally. We took it to the Spokane CostCo, well within the warranty limit, and were told that our car was the problem not the tire. Do not buy from these guys. We had a 65,000 mi warranty and were about 2 yrs into the tires. They let my wife drive out of the lot with dangerous tires because we could not afford to pay $450 for replacement tires. Invoice No: **. Last week I ordered factory replacement tires to be installed on the front of our Lexus LS 570 because the front tires had excessive wear on the outer edges of both front tires that my wife drives. There are several reasons the tire edges wear out prematurely. Tire alignment out of specification, excessive power when making maximum turns, 4 wheel drive mechanisms, and/or turning the wheel while parked before moving forward or backward all cause outer tire wear. The rear tires were in very serviceable condition with an average of 7/32 of tread remaining.
Complaint: After ordering to have two new tires installed on the front wheels... when I arrived at my appointment I was told that the new tires must be installed on the rear for safety. I clearly informed the service tech that it would not be as safe to move the older worn tires to the front and put the newer tires on the rear in case of the front tires failing first. In any case, the tech refused to do it contending it was required by Costco even after I paid for the tire and work to be performed in advance installed on the front.
In any case, yesterday I removed the old front tires and put them on the rear and moved the new tires to the front. During the removal I found that the left side had one loose (could term it by hand) lug-nut on the front and one loose lug-nut on the rear which would made the Costco tire job unsafe as the lug-nuts would certainly fall off sooner or later unbalancing the tire and the wheels would be stressed unevenly which could cause wheel failure. That is unsafe!
The belief that putting old tires on the front and new tires on the rear has no basis or any tire studies proving it is safer. In fact... putting old worn tires on the front are more likely to fail on the front and cause steering issues or loss of control which risk factor could have been lessened if the old tires were installed on the rear tires. Trained and employed as a Mechanical Engineer, I can assure you that tire engineers will agree that Costco practices are less safe. Juries will generally provide provide large settlements to claimants who are injured due to unsafe practices.
If you still don't understand then let's put you in a similar vehicle pulling a trailer at the speed limit going downhill with the worn tires on the front and new ones on the rear and we will create a blowout on the front so that you can experience loss of control which is unsafe. You then might understand why placing new tires on the front is actually safer. If you still don't understand then maybe we a jury will get your attention when they determine that just selling more tires for profit is not what one should do for consumer safety. I will gladly show the science if you still need more science.

During routine oil changes my tires were rotated and balanced. At my oil change in Dec 2018 I was told the tires were worn out and needed replacement. I took it to Costco. They said they needed proof of 3 tire rotations since it was about 21k miles so I gave them the 5 I had. They replaced 2 tires and I had to pay 1/2 the cost on the new tires. I went back in April 2019 and they replaced one more tire and I had to pay 1/2 the cost. They told me the 4th tire didn't need replacement. I went back September 2019 for rotation and balancing and the 4th tire needed replacement and they would not cover it under the warranty. They said my car was too old and the tire wore out because of mechanical issues.
I took my car for an alignment and found out there are no issues with the suspension. They would still not cover the 4th tire that wore out approx. 32k miles of the 65k miles. I'm trying to find out who can I report. While I was there 4 different days waiting I saw they attend to numerous customer and tell every single one, to do the rotation and balance for the warranty. So I fail to understand when I have done that and been there 3 times this year they won't honor the warranty of the 4th tire. As a customer I spent on 8 tires in the last 2.5 years and the customer service tells me with the credits I received it was just $4 a tire. So ridiculous with all the excuses they gave me on the reason for not covering the tire when they rotated and balanced it in Jan 2019, April 2019 and Sept. 2019. How can they do this ? This time I watched. All the tires were out of balance according to the guy who re-balanced them especially my front tires. He said that is why the car and the steering wheel shook so much. It never shook before I got the new tires.
I also watched them tighten the lugs with a big air gun, and when I asked how much torque was on the lugs they weren't sure but then used a torque wrench to make sure there was ENOUGH torque on each lug. I noticed all were so tight that the click type torque wrench was unable to further tighten any of them, they all exceeded the torque that was specified, and they made no attempt to back them off and tighten them to the correct torque, which was listed on my paperwork.
After the tires were balanced and left leaning against the car there was a long wait which ended when another mechanic started to rebalance the tires a THIRD time. I asked and he was unaware they had just been balanced. Their team system doesn't seem to work well, three people worked on my tires and no one knew what the other people had done. When the work was finished I left, and the car now rides as smoothly as it did before I got new tires. This was on a Thursday, four days earlier my wife noticed a nail was in sticking out the sidewall of the rear tire. So I called on Monday and made an appointment to have my tires rotated and have them look at the damaged tire. I knew they are not able to fix tires when the hole is on the side and that the tire will probably need to be replaced. It didn't seem to be leaking air so the possibility was that the nail didn't go all the way through.
When I talked to Brittney she said that they didn't have that tire in stock and would have to order it and that she would call me back on Tuesday. She verified my phone number. She did not call back. I arrived on Thursday at 3:55 for my 4 pm appointment and was told that it would be an hour. I brought up the nail issue and the kid didn't know anything about it. I told him that if it is bad that I need a replacement tire on there and did not want to driving around with a doughnut spare. He said if there was an issue he would call me while were shopping the store. Never called. Went back at 4:35 and the car was out of the shop and done and I was happy that it took less time that it did.
Guess what, when asked about the nail, a different kid said they put the doughnut on and put the damaged tire in the trunk and that a replacement would be ordered. I got a bit angry and told them I was not leaving without that tire being replaced. The kid ran into the shop and got Jeremy and he said that was all they could do. So I asked him what should I do if I get a flat tire. His response was, "What would you do if you had two flat tires on the road." Uh. I told him that would be my problem and that my car is here now at a repair facility and it needed to be taken care of. He went at got one of the store managers, I think his name was Eli.
Eli (after he told the story) told Jeremy to call a competitor to see if the had one in stock (they did) so Eli drove over and picked the new tire and had he himself with his good clothes on helped to get the tire replaced. After searching through all the stacks of tires I found the right ones stacked horizontally about 5 high. I took the top one and placed it on the floor to examine the tread pattern, when suddenly Mark, the manager, came storming out of the install area and began berating me for taking the tire off the stack.
He was having none of my explanation of being told by the salesman to search through the stacks if I wanted to examine the tire before purchasing. Nevertheless, I liked the tire but by now several people were in line to purchase so I decided to return later that evening. I did, and was making the purchase when my newest Costco card, which I had I had activated a few hours earlier, wouldn’t work.

Two rotations later, I had another slow leak. This time they said the tire was leaking air because of a repair that they did not perform. They said the tire needed to be replaced because the repair could not be fixed so again I needed a new tire.
What's interesting, I always went 5000 miles without any issue. The only times a slow leak appeared was IMMEDIATELY after the rotation at Costco (Parker CO). That coupled with the fact that my car has only been seen by Costco tire people in the past 3 years and I have security lugs on all four wheels, there is no chance that someone else put the incorrectly repaired tire on my car. I change all my fluids and filters so I am the only one other than Costco to work on the vehicle. If you have had similar issues, please list here and I read them.

I had a flat tire but luckily or so I thought, I was near a Costco. So I limped in and the manager took my information, tire size etc and said it would be one hour before my car could get in. So I waited. When they got to my car they informed me that they didn’t have that tire in stock but another warehouse 40 miles away did. Now on this day it was snowing, I asked if it could be delivered to this warehouse and they said no. So they put my “donut” spare on and threw my flat tire in my back seat! I did drive in the bad weather and then waited another 2 hours before that store could fit me in. I got a new tire but I was fuming! Never again will I buy from Costco. Their customer service is horrible and no one seems to have even adequate skills in communication.
Later I found out that Costco’s tires are cheaper because they are slightly defective from the manufacture. They may have a blemish or off balance tread or something that went wrong in the making of the tire but not up to the standards of the manufacture brand, so they sell them cheap to Costco. So, if you bought Michelin tires (or any other name brand) they may advertise at 65,000 miles you will only get 35,000 if you're lucky. The tires will wear wrong, be off centered or off balance. And don’t forget their ** disposal or road fees. It’s all money to the company and a hassle for the consumer.

I had my first ever 60 mph run flat which ruined the tire. COSTCO adjusted the new tire and 3-5 days wait for a replacement 4 days still waiting! Called MICHELIN direct and the tire is available locally more than one place. COSTCO however does not use MICHELIN direct. I have had to cancel trips on the highways as the spare replacement has a max 50 miles and 50 mph. I understand COSTCO prices may not use local but when a replacement tire is needed immediately they should make an exception. I will never use COSTCO to purchase tires again!

It seems that there are two different (or even more) versions of their road hazard warning. Today they denied my claim saying that they didn't cover curb damage if there was damage to any other part of the car, pointing to scraping on my hubcap. I was confused by this, as hubcaps aren't really a part of the car, but a removable protective part of the tire, so I asked for clarification before I left (I had to have them put on a spare because I couldn't afford an outright replacement). At that point, they stated that they didn't cover curb damage at all. So I looked at their road hazard warranty, and the one online doesn't mention curb damage at all (in fact, it specifically states that it covers impact damage), and the one they gave me in the store says the following about curb damage:
"Curb damage where other vehicle components were also damaged during impact (are not covered)." Now, I'm not saying that my reading comprehension is perfect, but that reads to me that curb damage is covered except in cases where other vehicle components are damaged. Now, I guess you could argue that the hub caps are a vehicle component, but if this is the case, they may as well just say that they don't cover curb damage because if you hit a curb, you're gonna scrape your hubcap.
But I learned my lesson... I'm going to park out in the damn road from now on and just hope no one hits me cause I scraped the tire (and my hub cap) I'm pretty sure from pulling up to the curb when dropping my daughter off for school. It's just so frustrating when you choose a company for a specific reason and then you get burned. No more Costco Tires for me, I suppose.

Found the tires online and thought saving $200 by going to Costco would be awesome. 2 hours to install, ok still worth the savings. Drove home and it felt like I was in a paint shaker. Took it back to them and told them, they checked them and told me that one of their balance machines must have been broken 'cause one of the tires was an ounce off, took them about 40 minutes. Drove home, still shaking. Took it back to them, they did it all again, 2 hours this time. Told them they all “zeroed” out and that if I had any further issues I should take it to a mechanic to be diagnosed.
Still shaking from 50 mph +. Speed limit on the local freeway is 70 so traveling with a sealed soda in my car would lead to a sticky explosion if I tried to open it. My brother is a mechanic and took it to him. All tires were off. Driver front 1.25 oz, driver rear .5, passenger front .5, and passenger rear 2.5 oz. The best part was that they never took any weights off when I came back in the 2 times. They just would spin them and slap new weights on to counteract the poor placement of the previous weights. So overall it was not worth the time to save $200. I will never buy tires from them again and if it weren’t for the good prices on everything else I wouldn’t buy anything from them ever again.

I bought 4 Bridgestone tires with 75K warranty on them. Two of them have 2/32; in 2 years and roughly 20K miles, and therefore need to be replaced. My warranty was not honored because I didn't have tire rotation records. I never expected this from Costco in Plano, TX (East) and told them I have performed tire rotation according to schedule. I had done tire rotation with each oil change at a Dealer and didn't keep the records (technically I could do tire rotation myself but they wanted a receipt from a reputed place). Luckily, Toyota has an owner's website which has all the records and tomorrow I am going to show them these records and see what happens. I will never buy tires from Costco. Moreover, I am canceling my Executive membership. Amazon Prime and Sam's Club; here I come.

Took car 7-16-2018 to COSTCO TIRE CENTER 1430 S Ashland Ave in Chicago Illinois for scheduled 4 tire rotation and rebalancing. Noticed after work completed that all 4 original hubcaps were had deep scratches and abrasions. I know how my hubcaps weren't in this condition before taking car to COSTCO for tire servicing. I hand washed the car the previous day and no hubcap damage present. I decided not to inform tire dept of damages because no confident that they would acknowledge nor accept responsibility for damages to hubcaps. Don't want to hear "the damage was there before car was serviced." Customary statements of DENIAL.
What do I and other customers have to do before our vehicles are brought in for service??? Remove hubcaps, rims, etc??? After this incident I have no faith in this COSTCO'S ability nor interest in protecting my car's more vulnerable parts. New tires and scratched up and dented hubcaps don't exactly go hand in hand at least not on my vehicle. I'll not be returning to This COSTCO AUTO CENTER and will take my car elsewhere. Now I have to LOCATE, PURCHASE and REPLACE the ORIGINAL hubcaps on my 1999 Mitsubishi GALANT???

I bought tires and had them installed at the store in Westbury, NY. The gentleman who helped me was very nice. He explained everything to me. And my wait time was just under 90 minutes. Not bad considering I was the last walk-in appointment on the last day of the tire sale. The sale price and 1 cent installment were a great value. I used a card provided through my union. While there I shopped for the household things I needed, some I can only get at Costco. Like sleeves of hot-cups, and a box of lids. I also got a few early Christmas gifts. All a great value. Many the same price as online stores or even cheaper. I even had a slice of pizza and a strawberry & frozen yogurt sundae. A treat as I waited for my car.

I'm very dissatisfied with Costco tires service. I purchased 4 tires at Costco tires on 86th street and Michigan road Indianapolis, with 50 miles warranty. After while my back tire was deformed and making a noise, and felt like driving on square wheel. I went back to them to change that tire, because it was under warranty. They didn't do so, they said that I haven't done rotation, so they won't give me proration price, instead they told me to pay full price of $174. I was so pissed, and I said to them I'm not coming back to you guys, never. And I wish no one goes to that place, it's wasting money.

I had my stock tires replaced for a first time since I got the vehicle brand new from a dealership. The car is at 20 000 miles and I take a really good care of it. I know how what was the condition of my wheels before I dropped it at Costco for the installation. After the installation I noticed scuffs on all wheels and I came back to the shop. The scuffs are very specific and are right where the rim meets the tire. Most of the scuffs go along the inner edge and were clearly done during the installation. The outer edges are perfect. The manager said they didn't do it, but took pictures and I filed a complaint.
The next day I received a call from Costco and a lady told me I am not getting compensated, because the technician put in the invoice that the wheels were scuffed. This invoice is prepared after the installation. They did not ask me to acknowledge any damage before the installation even they gave me a call asking for more money to replace sensor holders. She (the claim lady) also said that she's not an expert, but these scuffs could be done by rocks. Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourselves if you want to bring a car that you care about to their shop.

First time at Costco Tires - researched 5 different options and Costco priced out $100.00 less than next closest option but not because of tire cost per unit - in that they were almost on par with manufacturer direct - but in installation cost, disposal fees etc. That was where they won. Ordered the tires and paid for everything online on the 27th of April - tires arrived at the store on the 8th which was my appointment date - I was very lucky there - the tires got there before my scheduled appointment. My appointment was at 2 and they finished the installation just after 4 pm - it was a half-hour longer than estimated but this was ok.
I noticed a lot of whitish grease on the wheels but did not really make issue of it - and left. It wasn’t until today - the day after installation - that I truly saw what an incredibly disgraceful state my car had been delivered in. My car is a 2013 and has 62k miles on her - she is not perfect but she is in good shape. There was SIGNIFICANT white grease all over the wheels and the tires - I figure it assisted in mounting the tire to the rim but I’ve replaced tires before and NEVER seen gobs and smears of white grease left on the wheels and tires.
Remembering how little the installation cost was I “sucked it up” and decided to clean the wheels myself - and - with the exception of the clumped grease which took a little bit of work was able to wipe it from the wheels and tires without much issue. Irritating - but fixable. What has prompted this review - what has caused the most upset however is the damage this place did to my wheels. There was some minor curb rash on the front driver side wheel and a scrape on the back left - small - but I knew of these because I agonized over them. You know what I mean - you know where the scratches bumps and nicks are and they drive you nuts. EVERY single wheel on my car has been damaged - rims scraped and scratched - wheel surfaces gouged - apparently the manufacturer of my particular wheels coats them in a type of film which I did not know or notice until now.
It took sections of it being gouged out for me to understand there was a coating TO BE gouged out! Removing the significant white grease revealed the underlying damage - whatever machine they use to mount the wheel on that removes the old and assists the installation of the new trashed my 4 wheels. It’s no joke - my colleagues were shocked who saw them as I am known to keep a nice clean car - and the worst part is that I can really no longer address it with this business - they can say the damage was present before the work and I have no way to prove otherwise.
The cost to repair the damage with a wheel restoration shop - in time without car (renting a car as the wheel repair shop essentially needs the wheels off the car to do their work) is only eclipsed by the cost to purchase 4 new... and both exceed the most expensive installation estimate I researched while shopping for tires. I could have lived with lack of cleanup but not damage. In my view if you cannot perform a service without damaging someone’s property maybe you shouldn’t be doing it? I wouldn’t have agreed to them doing the work if they had said, “Well we won’t clean up the mess we leave on the tire and wheel and we’ll likely damage your wheels permanently but hey it’s cheaper than everyone else right?”
Yes it was cheaper but one of the joys of getting the best price is getting the best price on a perfect product I could have paid more for and didn’t. Paying less for something imperfect and just “cheap” isn’t satisfying. The work was sloppy - absolutely no care nor regard was given for my property or how in the hell I would feel upon discovering what had happened and there is no way the guy who did the work could NOT have known what they did. Yet they presented it in that state anyway which is actually to me unbelievable gall. But they were right - in the end. I let them get away with it. Don’t do the same - make the time and take the time to take pics of your wheels in the parking lot at Costco before you even go in. Then check them carefully at pick up - I wish I had done this. No - I won’t be back. I would like to think I learn from my mistakes.
