Highly professional, informed and accurate lead generation. Could not recommend more highly. Great to deal with. They got me three quotes from solar installers, and the three suppliers all reached out to me within 2 days.

We purchased our solar panels in October 2022 and as of March 2024 we have yet to see a decrease or savings in our electricity bills. Our panels were purchased with Sunrun and they were installed December 2022. Unfortunately our sales rep quit during our purchase process and this snowballed into a less than desired purchase and installation process to include our electric energy company not being informed of our new panels. Since the electric company was not informed of our solar panels as Sunrun said they would, we have been paying a regular electric bill without any solar energy credit for months. Very unfortunate.

Very happy with Sunrun. We have not had to make a payment to the electric company in over a year other than the connection fee and lately have not had to even pay that due to the credit balance we have with them. Our only payments for electric has been to Sunrun which is much lower than the payments we had with the electric company before we had solar.

We have been happy so far with our Sunrun experience within the first year. DK was a great support for the process. Our expenses have been as highlighted with a 3.5% increase after the first year. I would like to understand the contractual process that will occur if we sell our house in more detail.

Since installation we have has nothing but seamless service. After nearly 10 years, you would think at least one gremlin would reveal its ugly head, but not a single gripe from me. I must say I'm quite astonished. I usually have something to complain about.

I have really enjoyed the solar panels from day one. My electric bill is so much friendlier to look at and the leasing program they offered me at the time is wonderful! For example, my electric bill in July of 2020 was over $100. My electric bill every July since has been less than $20, plus the monthly cost of leasing the panels that is still minimal compared to what I was paying for electric.

Overall, I'm happy with my solar panels experience with Sunrun. I was very un-satisfied with the time it took to both remove the panels and then put them back when I had my roof replaced. It took SunRun a very long time, repeated calls and a substantial amount of emails to have the panels re-installed.

My sales rep was great and has been always available even after the sale and installation. Have had no issues during any part of the process. Installation was great and was quick. I can’t say enough about my sales rep Mike. He has always answered his phone and responded to all emails in a timely manner.

After receiving numerous bills from SDG&E It doesn't seem that I'm saving any $. I realize gas is part of the bill. But I'm getting charged for electricity that adds up to a significant amount. Not impressed.

I’m very satisfied with Sunrun. Super savings are appreciated & anyone I’ve dealt with have been professional & friendly! The calls I received to advise me about work that needed done were not labeled as Sunrun but a personal number & no message was ever left. Once I received an email I responded so that glitch did prolong the scheduling.

Sunrun through CostCo very professional. We have had solar for 4 years. Very pleased. We have had no problems. They answered all our questions. Very happy with the crew that installed the panels. Very careful with the property not to cause any damage would recommend them to anyone who is thinking about getting solar.

I would only like to speak to the solar panel system installed by Sunrun. The system works perfectly well and we’ve saved literally hundreds in power bills already. If I were able to separate SunRun’s system from the service provided after the fact, by any and all SunRun operatives, (AKA customer care specialists) I would give the system itself and its capabilities 10 stars and the customer service aspect negative 5 stars. Sorry but that has been our experience to date. However we couldn’t be any more pleased than we are right now with SunRun's equipment. We are firm believers in doing anything we can possibly do to help our planet and everyone on it to survive and thrive. We have had our Sunrun solar installation for 1.5 years. It took our electric provider almost 6 months after installation to get their act together so we’ve been benefiting from 90-96% of our electricity being delivered by our wonderful free sunshine for a little over a year. While we don’t quite cover our bills in the winter our rollover bank pays for them from summer overage. Sunrun was and is excellent to deal with. We’ve had no problems and feel both our sales rep and the technical support staff are way above average. However as I say this due to the smooth operation of the system. We’ve not had to turn to them very much. I would highly recommend them. While the cost seemed high we have been able to balance it somewhat by extremely low bills and the satisfaction that we are making the world a better place for our granddaughters.

Sunrun has been great to work with. From giving estimates, to installing and to follow up, they have been excellent to work with. Their app keeps me apprised of how my system is doing. I can compare my solar production from month to month or year to year. I have no complaints at all about our Sunrun experience.

Sunrun missed to connect my water supply and sump pump electricity to the backup. The generator who took care of both was switched off by the SUNRUN technicians. Any complaints was ignored and the case is being pushed to the next person- who is very friendly but does not fix it. I had a water damage because my sump pump did not work in case of a heavy rain and power failure. I gave up.
Otherwise, very friendly and solar works great. Same as battery from Tesla- which does work great. Since I have a large house, the batteries alone are not sufficient and the backup strategy includes the generator- especially for essentials like water pumps and sump pumps. I am surprised that a professional company who works with Costco is such a disaster in fixing an obvious problem.

Salesperson was very helpful, answered all questions that I asked and was prompt when I contacted by phone and by text message. Was on time for all appointments and meetings and very helpful with the roof replacement. Salesperson was very knowledgeable about their product and gave me a hard copy of contract when I asked for it.

When I built my house, I had to buy solar panels and the builder was in a partnership Sunrun. I went to them, and when I bought my second set of panels for the same house, I was at Costco. Costco had a promotional deal with Sunrun, so I added more solar panels with Sunrun through Costco. Everything was great. There were no issues at any point in time at all, and installation was fast. It was sooner than I expected. Now, I'm happier because my bills are significantly lower. I'd tell people to go solar now before prices keep going up.

The enrollment was all very easy. They came pretty quick and installed the system. The only issue that I have is it seems like the sales rep that I was dealing with gave me a lot of wrong information about things. He told me how many panels I was gonna need and that if I need more panels down the line, they could always add in stuff like that. Sure enough, I need a lot more panels because I still have a pretty high electricity bill. I still have to pay $1,500 to Edison at the end of the year, which is how it's been working out ever since I got the solar panels. Whatever I use extra from Edison that I don't use from the solar panels gets added up and at the end of the year, I gotta pay them. I called Sunrun to see if I could add them and they said they can't. But everything was fine besides that.

The few times we've had to call Sunrun, they responded quickly. When one of the senders wasn't reading a panel, they came out the next day and changed it. No problem. I love our system. It does very well, and it really cuts the bills a lot. Normally, in the summer, it'd be 350 bucks for the upstairs and downstairs air conditioning, and the pool. Now it's down to 140.

I talked to somebody from Sunrun. They were working on a house a couple blocks away from our house, and some guy came out for about two minutes. We already decided we wanted to do it, and he gave us the pricing. We signed, and it was done. Install was good too. The biggest problem was getting the permits from the county. It took them a four weeks for that to happen, then after that, they were done in a few days. I've only looked at the production twice in seven years. I got an $18 bill from the power company and then my payment to Sunrun. Sunrun has been really good for us, and now, we don't get a bill anymore.

I liked the sales rep from Sunrun. He seemed very friendly and easy to talk with. It’s his job to sell, but he was good. I had met with other people over the years but I never contracted with anybody. I wasn't ready to do it in general but with the electric prices going up, it made sense. So, what the rep said it would be, it has been. The guys took two days to do the installation of the panels and then, there was the connection to National Grid. It couldn’t have gone smoother. I recently used Sunrun’s customer service to inquire about something. They said they would respond in 24 hours, and they did. I was looking to see if they had a backup battery. They were offering it to new customers but I was curious to see if you could get a discounted price and buy one from them. But they said they didn't have any available at this time and when they did, they would contact me.
I don't have any friends or neighbors that have solar electricity so, there's nobody to ask about it on my side that would be completely independent. But that doesn't bother me. I don't get an electric bill. I pay for the lease on the solar panels and I know what the increase in that is gonna be every year. I haven't ever seen another electric bill since we converted, so I have to be happy. But I have an app on my phone and the information about the system is readily available. They're giving you statistics of what you're saving by doing this and it all looks good.
I had talked to different people over the years and I could just see how the industry was changing. So, things were getting a little more expensive when you waited. If I had gone a couple of years ago, it might’ve been cheaper, but I don't know what the deals would have been. So, it's hard to know for sure. But it can't hurt to check with other people. If people have friends that have it, certainly check with them. I know somebody recently in Holbrook started going solar and a couple of people threw some information out. So, I threw out Sunrun and mentioned how I've been happy with my experience. I'm willing to talk to people. It is just a scary place to go but you see it's coming fast.

I've had Sunrun in my home for almost 10 years now and I've done two homes with them. For the most part, I'm happy with Sunrun. But I have not been super happy with their customer service in the last couple of years. When I had panels that weren't working and I was trying to get Sunrun to either get them working or replace them, the frontline customer service reps were pretty non-responsive. But once you get it escalated, they become responsive.

The salesman with Sunrun did a thorough job of explaining what the process was and what they were offering. The electric prices were about to jump so it was good timing on their part. I also had a colleague that had used them and was happy with their experience. The installation was seamless. The installers were in and out in a day. The permitting process was well-organized and it was a very smooth experience. Sunrun is saving me tons of money. The app could be an area of improvement though. I'm an engineer and a data guy so I wouldn't mind drilling into more details.

The Sunrun rep's presentation was good, but it was a little misleading. He was talking about federal and state incentive, and that I'm going to get a refund, but when I filed my taxes last year, nobody was there to help me. I'm going to be filing my taxes now and, hopefully, I get the federal state refund. But the tax accountant said that you really don't get any money back. I also tried reaching out to my rep at Sunrun and he was not helpful whatsoever. Other than that, the installation was finished in one day and Sunrun has a good product. I would tell my friends that they should consider going with them.

I've been very happy with Sunrun. The installation was very smooth. They sent a crew of people over who were on the roof for a few hours. They had everything hooked up. It was neat watching two guys up on the roof putting everything in place without falling off. They put pigeon guard around it so I don't have pigeon nests underneath it. There's been one time I had a problem, and they spotted that on their monitoring system. They came over and replaced it. They're very conscientious people. I live in a very small house, but my electric bill in the summer was over 100 every month with the AC. Sunrun dropped my Nevada energy bill down to an average of $13 and I pay Sunrun 85 so I'm still under the 140 that I was paying. It also makes me feel good because it is using a natural source.

Sunrun sent somebody out and he very frankly told me that I probably wouldn't save a whole lot of money. I told him that that wasn't the main point of going solar. The main point was doing what we ought to do for the world and the rest of the people in it. So, we went ahead and put the panels on the roof. But the shutoff is on the front of my house and I would like to have talked a little bit more about where else could we put it. That didn't quite happen, but it was still okay. Since the installation, I've been more mindful of my electric use. I do a lot of things when the sun is shining and I have a time schedule when there are peak hours and non-peak hours. I try to do things in non-peak hours.
So far, I paid ahead for my electricity at a great rate with Sunrun. APS is a pain in the butt. Nobody stops to read the meter and it goes automatically. But I have three different marks that bill for meter reading and it's not the electricity. The electricity doesn't cost you. It's everything else they pile on. Also, all my extra goes to APS. So if the Tesla batteries weren't so expensive, I would put them on for the extra production I make. All in all, I've never had any problems, knock on wood, with the system, and I always tell my kids that I'm perfectly satisfied with Sunrun.

We're very happy with Sunrun. The installation went great and they had it done in one day. They also explained everything to us about how the system would work and that production could go up 3% a year. We're happy with it because in the summertime when our bill would run at $500, it only runs at 300.

The Sunrun representative who came to my house was honest and didn't mess around. We got through the process quickly and the information I got was understandable. I got 20 panels and I liked the install because they never had to drill holes into my roof. They used a weighted system on the bracket. I monitored the system's performance very carefully during the first year and my net power bill in that period was $15. So, it was almost zeroed out. Keeping track of my production is as easy as clicking on the app and it works almost 100% of the time. I've had a couple of minor issues about monitoring where the system stopped or wouldn't give me updated information. So, I reached out via email and even spoke to a rep. They got it fixed really quickly. All in all, Sunrun was not the cheapest, but working with them was very trouble-free.

When I signed up with Sunrun, I was informed that my electric bill with SMUD would decrease to as low as $20 in winter and $50 in summer. However, this has not been the case. During the summer months, my SMUD bill has consistently been over $300, in addition to my monthly Sunrun fees. I am extremely frustrated by this situation. I am now seeking to terminate my contract with Sunrun and have the panels removed from my house roof. Furthermore, Sunrun has not provided any maintenance services or shown willingness to address any issues with the panels. After seven years of dealing with Sunrun, I am thoroughly dissatisfied and cannot recommend their services to anyone based on my experience.

Our roof was leaking but we could not afford the $13,000 cost for replacement – We heard we could get roof replaced if we went solar – We called several solar providers who said we did not qualify because we had too many trees – and we would need to remove trees at our own expense before being considered for solar – and while this was happening our heating/air conditioning system began failing and needed to be replaced at a cost of $12,000 – It was an overwhelming situation – That was until we met with Nick ** of SunRun – He arranged for the needed trees to be cut down and stumps removed – and he arranged for a new roof of our house – and all the work was done quickly and professionally – We then get solar installed and are currently awaiting required inspections before being turned on.
We were paying Atlantic Electric $180 a month as part of a budget – and that is what we will now be paying SunRun instead – and we just received notice that because of usage our bill with Atlantic Electric is now increasing to $240 per month – Fortunately once our system solar system is turned on our bill with Atlantic Electric will just be $20 or so – and $180 to Sun Run – so our monthly cost for electricity will be $40 less per month – and since we now have a high efficiency air conditioner our usage may be less than what we generate and therefore will get a refund from Atlantic Electric. I can’t say enough good things about Nick – he was able to completely change our situation – We now have a nice roof – a yard that can grow grass and a garden – and will be paying less for electricity now and for the next 25 years – He was kind – efficient – professional – responsive – a joy to work with – I am forever grateful to Nick and SunRun.

We had a fire 19 months ago and had to have the solar panels removed to replace the roof. Still waiting to have the panel insulation complete. They installed half and the balance are still on the ground. We have been told so many times someone would get back to us in 24 hours and of course they do not call! The lady we are working with never returns your call and email response is she is out of the office. How do you keep your job? Over a month ago they started to reinstall. They told me they needed an electrician to install the inverter and would be back middle of the next week. Sunrun red tagged our meter, why? We have a brand new panel and all new electric wire which has been inspected by Jefferson County! I would NEVER recommend Sunrun and if they don’t want to reinstall come and get your equipment out of my yard! I’m sure there will be NO response from Sunrun!

STAY AWAY! I cannot express my sheer disappointment and frustration with SunRun, the so-called solar experts who have turned what should have been a bright investment into an absolute nightmare. In what can only be described as a gross display of incompetence, this company managed to install solar panels on my roof without securing the necessary permits, leading to a cascade of issues that have left me unable to sell my home. Little did I know that this was a facade concealing a glaring lack of attention to the most basic requirements of their trade.
The first sign of trouble emerged when I attempted to sell my property, only to discover that the solar installation performed by SunRun had not been properly permitted. This oversight has not only violated local regulations but has also resulted in a devaluation of my property, as potential buyers are rightfully wary of purchasing a home burdened by unapproved modifications. Attempts to rectify the situation with SunRun have been nothing short of infuriating. Their customer service is as lackluster as their adherence to legal procedures. It seems that once they have your money, they wash their hands of any responsibility for the aftermath of their shoddy work. The lack of professionalism exhibited by SunRun is astounding.
A reputable solar company should understand the importance of obtaining the necessary permits before embarking on any installation. This failure has not only cost me financially but has also added an unnecessary layer of stress to an already complex real estate transaction. I urge anyone considering SunRun for their solar needs to think twice. Their incompetence has real consequences, and the headache they have caused me is a testament to their disregard for their customers and a blatant disregard for local regulations. SunRun has proven to be nothing more than a liability. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a solar provider that values professionalism, follows regulations, and doesn't leave their customers stranded in a bureaucratic nightmare.

I'm appalled by their blatant disregard for common courtesy in handling my case. Despite my persistent efforts to seek an update, I've been met with nothing but incompetence and evasion. Today's interaction with service company Freedom Forever LLC was a new low, as I was informed that the account is still under the previous homeowner's name after a staggering two years of ownership change. Their ineptitude is staggering. Their audacious failure to put my account on hold is unacceptable. It's outrageous that I've been charged $134.85 today for a service that hasn't been rendered, considering my solar system has been dysfunctional. How can you justify charging me for non-existent services and when can I expect full reimbursement for a faulty system?

Sunrun rep recommended installing solar system around 6 months of moving into my new home. He said 6 months' worth of bills should be enough to determine # panels needed. At 6 months, solar systems were installed. Sadly, they got the # of panels needed wrong. Another came in about 4 months after solar was installed. He determined more panels were needed and stated those would be installed at no cost.
He later sent an agent to inspect my roof and the process of obtaining state approval for some contract to have energy from Sunrun that I was not in the know. I was expecting additional panels not getting into contract. This came to light when I was forwarded cosmetology documents with contract agreement to sign off. I was and called the rep. Then he began to explain the benefits of signing the contract and having Sunrun provide my energy needs. Called customer service to explain my frustration. She was quick to forward the agreement to install solar and claimed l was the one that was in a hurry. I should have waited a year in my new home before seeking to acquire solar systems. What a ridicule.

I started this process in 2022. It shouldn't take two years. Also, it took them a month and a half even for me to get an appointment for the inverter that went wrong. I understand they own the system so they could come whenever they feel like. But I would have done it differently if they explained it to me better. They just wanted to make the sale. I should have asked what the support was like but I didn't. I should have known better. But I wish their service was better.
Sunrun's employees are good, but all their support stuff aren't. They have horrible customer service. When I had to call them and get an appointment, that person is in the mainland making an appointment for somebody in Hawaii. I've had to pay so much out of my pocket because they took too long to come. Nobody explained to me how the solar works. We didn't know how it took so long to get enrolled with HECO, and it was not a good experience.
There's a reduction in my billing, but it's not significant. I have an electric car. I pay another $200 on top of paying the electric company and Sunrun's lease, which is $500. I have 40 panels on the roof, which Sunrun said should make enough, but it doesn't make sense. I told Sunrun them prior to this that I had worked out the numbers and I said, "I still have to pay $200. I don't get that." And they said, "You should get that back from HECO every month as a credit." But I haven't. I see the savings, but it's not like what Sunrun said it would be.
We live in Hawaii. It's cloudy. I get that. But it doesn't make sense to me because I give electric in the summer to HECO, and I don't get paid for that. I understood that going in. But I thought I would get a larger credit than I'm getting. I own a construction company. And I told them I would never refer them to my clients. I have tons of clients that want solar, but I would never. Because once Sunrun sold you it, they forget about you.

Sunrun came out and did the estimate. I found out that I would be eligible for the government program that was zero out-of-pocket. The installation was all done in one day. The panels fill up one whole side of my roof, and then there are two more on the other side. The only thing is, I thought that if ComEd went out and the power went out for a storm, I would still be able to have power but I don't because I don't have a battery. Where I live, we didn't need a battery. They told me I didn't need it.

They said they were going to get a permit, but that was three months ago. They took the panels down October 4th last year and they're still on the ground. I don't know how long it takes to do permits. Other than that, I like Sunrun. They take care of everything well. It's just irritating that they're having trouble with these permits.

Enrolling with Sunrun was seamless. I told the sales guy I wanted to give it a go and within a month, the system was fully installed and up and running. I have 10 panels and they look good up there. They’re shiny and seem to be doing the job. There's no reason not to have it. I did it because it would save me money and so far, so good. My electricity bills are way lower. It is nothing except for what ComEd charges for their incoming fee. But I wish the app was a little better. I've seen other companies out there where their app shows you exactly how much each panel is pulling in power-wise. Theirs just tells you how much you have brought in each day and how much fossil fuels you saved. I care about it, but I don't care about it. I wanna know how much money I'm saving.

Their two salespeople at Home Depot were very energetic and responsive. They knew their stuff. I arranged to have them come out and do a site survey shortly thereafter. I was really impressed with the installation. The installers were on time. They had a team of six guys that came in and were like a whirlwind. They got everything done on time and left the place spotless. They were a pleasure to have in the house. They were really, really good. I'm generating as it should and have been completely happy with it. I haven't paid a power bill in over a year, and it's saved us about $75 a month. So it's great.

The installation was fine. We had to re-roof the house before they put it up but we needed roofing anyway. Other than that, I've been very satisfied with the system. During the winter, my bill runs about $55. And I'm here in New Mexico at 3,500 feet so it gets pretty cold here.

I liked Sunrun's presentation. It was very comprehensive. They walked me through the process, what they would do, what my bill would look like, and so far, everything's been right on. The installation went very smoothly. The installers showed up on time. They seemed to be very efficient in installing it and making sure it worked right. I'm very happy with the changes in our electric bill. I'm paying $68 a month all year round for the lease. I would recommend Sunrun.

A guy from Sunrun came to my house a few years back. He was sweet and kind. I have a little house and I don't have a lot of stuff. So, they didn't even think they could do it for me because I didn't have much, but they were able to put it on my garage. I don't own anything, they own everything, they service it, and I just pay a monthly fee. I think they're making money off me, and I don't care because I have a flat fee of around 50 a month. So, I'm happy as a clam.

There was a delay between the installation and the inspection and I don't know if that was Sunrun’s fault or the city’s. But when I called to follow up, Sunrun immediately contacted the city and the inspector was out within a few days. I have no problems with solar because if I did, I wouldn’t have it. I save a lot of money on my electricity bill and I just pay for what's generated and if I don't use x amount of kilowatts, it goes out to the grid as a credit with Edison. I always have a credit because I don't always use everything that's generated.

Had 3 different contracts rates. Upon signing wanted to get out immediately. Next installed on 4 roofs which is against the law which I wasn't aware. Had water coming into my electric panel. Under production from chewed wires. No critter guards install which caused under production and my electric bill to increase then the critter chewed a hole under the solar panel through the roofs and sheetrock getting into my house.

Enrolling with Sunrun was very good. The representative was very clear and explained a lot of things. It was easy. The guys who came and installed the system were excellent. They were efficient, fast and conscientious. Both the representative who I spoke with locally here and the team that came in and did the installation were respectful and friendly, and they were happy to answer questions. I'm very happy with the system. It's been two months in and I could see the difference between the cost of the electricity and the cost of my gas. I'm mostly paying for my gas usage.

The sales guy was nice. He gave me a lot of good presentation. He made sure that the installation was taken care of. The installation was perfectly done. They send my bill every month. I can see how they charge on my account because of automatic payment. But I haven't been able to go through the charges to see when I overuse it or when I haven't and when I’ve been using that much and I know what the difference is. So, that's where my issue is now.

I'm satisfied with Sunrun. I love it. The installation of our panels took two or three days. Getting the city permits took the longest. It took two months from when I agreed to sign up to when it was up. But my experience with them has been good.

Overall, I'm very happy with Sunrun. But you always wait to see when you have an issue as to how they're gonna take care of it. I called the day after Christmas and here we are, January 25th, and that's the original date they gave me to come out and fix it. I told them that we are in Illinois and we have snow, ice and rain. But they never got out there. I called so many times and nagged them that they did get a guy out there. But he didn't know what he was doing. When they finally sent out a tech, he was very professional and good. He explained things. I was very happy. But then we got hammered. We've had two weeks of severe, brutal cold and ice. So, I'm just waiting now for this all to come through.

I had a new roof put on my house in November 2021. It is nearly February 2024. We have been without solar panels 27 months. The communication in this company is laughable! We had a rep from Sunrun knock on our door a month ago and asked if we would be interested in solar panels from Sunrun. I told him he had to be the sixth person in the last 2+ years to knock on our door and ask if we would be interested in solar panels from Sunrun. I shared my frustration with him, he took all my info, and said he would take care of this asap. Long story short, nobody has contacted us.

When Manny, the rep from Sunrun, first came out, it was a nice meeting. He introduced himself and talked about solar. He looked at my bill and told me he was gonna have to see exactly what he could do and send someone out to look at the house and create a style for the solar. So he informed me of everything that they were gonna do step-by-step and I was always getting emails from him. The installers put the panels up and when they were done, they told me I could close my garage and doors. To track what I produce, I go on to my Sunrun account and look at numbers. I love the price because it is what it is every month. It'll go up $7 a year but 10 years from now, when it's gonna up $70, that's fine. By having solar, I know what my fuel is gonna be every month. I don't have to see it fluctuate up or down. So, I like the consistency of the bill. I can run my air when it's hot and my heat when it's cool. I don't have to worry about that bill going crazy.

Sunrun has been excellent. The person who helped me out was Johannes. He's a peach. The first time he knocked on the door, it was not convenient for us to chit-chat, so he made an appointment to come back. He was well-spoken, well-groomed, and very polite and my mom liked him. He told us he had a little brochure deal. He turned the pages slowly, pointed with this pen, explained everything, got out his tablet, and showed us examples of what he was telling us. He explained it so precisely that we knew that this was what we had been waiting for.
We had already talked it through a couple of times over about five years. We've talked about wanting to do it. So, when he was saying exactly what we were hoping for, including the battery, we knew this was for us. There were lots of stages in getting the solar panels on the house, lots of permits and interactions, and Sunrun would send us texts, emails, and phone calls of reminders of appointments, who would be coming, and what to look for. I couldn't believe the customer service. These days, it really stood out. They were stellar.
As far as the installation, there were steps and waiting for permits and preparation. They waited for the paint to dry before they would sign off and leave. The product is first quality. They redesigned my mom and dad's electrical panel and beefed it up so they could withstand the wattage generated by the solar panels. These guys were pros. They didn't mean to be super fast, but they were lightning fast. They came early. They sang while they worked. This company is special. They would knock before they left and they said, "Would you like to see what we've done? We're all done for the day. Thank you, Mrs. **." They were super polite. We'd offer them sodas, and they were like, "No." A couple of them worked while it was over 100 degrees and they were still happy. We were super impressed.
I friended Johannes on Facebook so when people got on the local Facebook page and said, "Whose services? Who takes care of your solar?" I would tag Johannes on there and say, "This is what you want right here. Right here, this is what you want." They threw in a free electronic vehicle charger that was free. They put that in the garage, which upped our house value and we've got solar. The whole deal made the house, this property, go up in value. That's what Sunrun did for us. We're very pleased with them.

We knew nothing about solar but heard the basics that it helps to save on your electric bill and so in 2019 one of the deceitful reps came around our town searching for people to prey on, any way we saw him around for a while then we finally decided to hear what he had to say, unfortunately it was the biggest mistake of our lives. We didn't know all the questions to ask but my most important question to him was "What if we weren't satisfied with the service." His response was that all we needed to do was to contact them and they will have someone come out and remove the panels, he expressed to us that at no cost should we touch the panels to clean it or for any other reasons, anything we needed just call and that seems simple and fair enough since to me it's a trial.
They then checked my roof and claimed it was in great condition and in his words, "If your roof needed to be changed we would have changed it for free before installing the panels." Of course, my husband and I are afraid of heights so we most definitely wasn't going to go check plus this guy sold us his lies by appearing to be the nicest person you could ever meet. Anyways after agreeing to having the panels installed, I believed he made a call where a rep asked my husband some yes/no questions so based on what he told us my husband answered the questions but the installation was halted because we then found out that the meters were crossed and the bills he was using to do the estimate was inaccurate.
We had to wait months until the meters was sorted out, he then claimed that when I received the first three bills to submit it to them so that they can do the estimate and go ahead with the installation. I asked him what if the three bills wasn't accurate as the meters would have just been changed and he said if they miscalculated all we needed to do was to contact them and they would come out to add more panels to the roof (another big lie). After the panels were installed I was receiving very high bills so I contacted them and at first I got no response so I sent emails and made phone calls and finally, they responded claiming that I should give it a little more time then send them 12 months bills.
I sent them the bills and nothing, I called and left messages and no one called back so I stopped for a while, I then reached out to another department and explained the situation to the lady and asked for them to check to see what's going on or to come out and add the panels because I assumed that's what was wrong believing they estimated the usage incorrectly but when I asked her to add the additional panels she informed me that I would need to sign some sort of contract for that so I told her I would do no such thing not knowing we were supposedly already in one, because like I said this liar told us we could have the panels removed whenever we wanted to if it wasn't working for us.
Anyways it took calling and emailing for over two years for them to send someone out to check the system, might I add SunRun was not even the ones that cared enough to send someone out, Infinity did because apparently they have some sort of business agreement with SunRun. When they finally came out to check the system the young lady informed me that half of my panels wasn't generating any energy because after the installation was completed there was some sort of pin that needed to be pushed it and it wasn't.
Manager at Infinity again cared enough to offer me $500 to put towards my bills, after that my roof started leaking and so I contacted Infinity as they were the only ones that seems to respond to my concerns back then and they sent two persons out to check the roof and they both came back with different report as to why my roof was leaking but of course claimed it wasn't caused by the panels, after venting my frustrations with Infinity the manager then informed me that my contract was actually with SunRun and I needed to reach out to them, like I said I never knew a contract existed and had never seen one so I contacted them explaining the situation with my leak and requesting a copy of the contract because I needed to see what was in it.
Sunrun then sent someone to check the roof and like the other two from Infinity, he also had a totally different reason for the leak so three solar persons, three different reports but none found the panels to be the cause. I then started reviewing the contract and the first thing I noticed was the signatures, they did not look anything like ours so I contacted Sunrun and notified them that the signature was forged because we were not familiar with any such signatures.
Anyways they refused to assist in replacing or repairing my roof so I had two independent contractors come out to inspect my roof and provide me an estimate and both contractors informed me that my major leak was definitely caused by the installation of the panels because of the age and condition of my roof, they said my roof was in no condition for the solar panels to be installed on, yet this guys lied to us, he told us the roof was in good condition because I later found out that the roof wouldn't have been free, so the fact that they weren't doing the roof he could lie and say it would have been free.
I have submitted the report from the contractor to senior personnel in Sunrun, one person I sent the document to since Dec 29, 2023 and she has not gotten back to me. In regards to my husband signature being forged, they sent me a time-stamped document claiming that's when my husband signed the document but I realized the document was also signed on the sales rep iPad and I also requested a time-stamped proof showing the date and time the original contract was sent to my husband since Dec 29, 2023 and I have not gotten a response, yet this person was able to send me the supposedly time stamped contract with 48 hrs of her receiving my case.
I have gone through my husband completed docusign documents and this supposedly contract is nowhere in his email, why is my new request now taking her over 360 hrs and still counting to provide me this evidence I requested. I wished we had done our research before agreeing to this thing because like I said I never knew about being stuck in any contract and I would have never agreed to such a thing not knowing if it would even work, now I am still getting absorbent bills from my utility company and have this nonsense on my roof.
For example last month they said I used 1135 kwts of electricity and all the solar provided was 36kwts, this is ridiculous and every time I call about this all they can tell me is that I am over-consuming, it's obvious that this conniving sales rep rushed us into doing the installation with only three months of bills because he didn't want us to change our minds, now no one seems to care because they sit in their big offices making big bucks off of poor people that is already struggling to pay their bills.
I really do not understand how these people sleep at nights, let me not forget to mention that they make the contracts so vague to us little people that it confuses you trying to understand it and again you can't even trust the people giving you the information to be honest. Something needs to be done about this, as far as I heard the solar system was introduced to be a good thing but with what's going on eventually no one will even want to hear about it and I am definitely one of those persons. They have helped in damaging my roof, my electric bills are still very high so why do I have solar, I didn't know it was for decoration.

I am very happy I have solar. I tell others that Sunrun is a good company to deal with. It has really cut down on my electric bills. Sunrun is really an easy company to deal with. If I have a problem they handle it easily and rapidly. The website is very easy to log on and maneuver through.

I really thought that I would be saving a lot more. I still have a high electric bill and a high solar bill some months I am paying more than I was with just the electric. Also I recently found out that my roof was leaking from the solar panels being reinstalled after a roof job. There are gashes everywhere and my roof need replacing again. They will be hearing from me.

Every time anybody talked about solar, I pushed Sunrun. They are the only one that Costco has in their warehouses. So, that tells me a lot. When our solar first started, we went to turn it on and one switch area wasn't connected to anything. Other than that, I love it. When we got it in the first place, our first year, our true-up was $54 and something. Our second year was $14 and something. We added some panels before the law changed and we got a free plug-in for a car. And this year for our true-up, we got a check for $140 back. They contacted me when something needed fixed or changed, and they have come over and fixed it.
I have become friendly with the people that I worked with. Some of them, I know them by name. And if I had a question, like when we got the check, I called one of them to say, "Can I really cash this?" I was hesitant. So, Sunrun's staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And if they didn't know, they found out and got right back to me.

We had a representative from Sunrun come to the house and talk to us about it. We thought it was a pretty good deal as far as everything was concerned. We went ahead and had them do it. The installation was absolutely fantastic. They put their stuff up in one day and they did a great job but it took a month to get the various inspections from TECO. We've been very happy with the solar. It's been a consistent amount every month and on some months, we have more from TECO because we've overrun the balance. Overall, we've done really well the last year with the solar panels on the roof.

Nick, the rep from Sunrun, was very knowledgeable and did a good job laying out the system as well as in explaining what the costs are all about and the service they’re gonna take care of. I’m very satisfied with the installation though there were a couple of little stumbling blocks. It seemed to take a long time to get some of that done and that was also about the time when PG&E changed their rates and the Utility Board said they were no longer gonna be having NEMS2. All of a sudden, there were some layoffs of their staff so it was hard to get some of the people who were out here and familiar with it to come back out. But they eventually came out and got everything done.

My experience with Sunrun has been good. I’m just waiting for them to put the tile on my roof. There were a couple of them that were cracked. But everything else has been great so far. During the summertime, it's been a lower monthly bill.

We were looking to install solar panels on our roof and Sergio was fantastic at keeping everything moving along with the project manager Janay who coordinated all of the construction activity to be completed in one day. The installation was neat and professional as was everyone on site. We are very happy right now and just waiting for the inspection from the city and permission to operate.

I would recommend Sunrun. We chose them because it worked with our budget and because I had a testimony from a relative who have used them before. I would recommend the customer agent who helped us because he has been very helpful throughout the process. That was also one of the deciding factors that I went with Sunrun. For any questions that we had, we could easily get back to the same agent. Sunrun gave me the comparison right away. They gave me the format on the roof on what it would look like, so it was comprehensive during the first presentation. Also, the installation was done right on the same day. The activation took a few more weeks, but it was because PG&E had a backlog on that.

The solar panel is good. I talk to my rep Christopher and he's very good. That's the reason I have Sunrun. He's very nice. He followed up. He was on top of things, but the problem is not solved. The company doesn't do anything good. I have a problem with the roof tile broken. When the problem came and he emailed and sent case managers, none of them responded to me. My rep even gave me the number and I texted and called, but nobody responded. I said, "What's going on with your company?" Christopher said, "Let me take care of it." But nothing came up. So, I don't know what's going on. Is something going on with the company?
Somehow it has been taking a couple of months to finish since I had it in June. And after they finished the inspection, I didn't know what was wrong with it until it rained and leaked to my house and we found out the roof was broken. So, I'm not happy about that. When you put the solar on the tile, they know it would be broken. So, they have to take care of that. It might damage the whole house and they have to respond faster. Also, I have the 2,500 reward but it still has not come to me. How can I refer to my friend with those problems not taken care of?

My salesman was a really great person that I could call. He would call me back within the same day and tell me that he's working on it or he put the call in to someone to answer my question. The follow through was really good. The installation was good as well. There wasn't a lot of prior notice (maybe two days), but it was fine with me because I'm disabled. However, I would think someone who would be working would wanna be home when they're doing things on the house.

Sunrun is the second company that I hooked up, and for some reason, I don't think that the solar panels are working properly because now I'm getting a bigger bill than I got before. I already have Tesla, then I hooked up Sunrun to add to my solar panels so that I would never get a bill from PG&E. Sunrun said that they could do that, but when I explained that to the lady, she said, “Sorry, you're just using too much electricity.” I said, "Could somebody go out and check the panels?” She said, “We can't do that.” I asked to speak with the manager, but she said no. I told her, “I don't understand why I can't speak with the manager,” and she said, “You don't have a good enough reason to talk to a manager.” So, all said and done, she hung up on me and it was a very rude conversation.
In the beginning, my experience with Sunrun was good, then I recently had that phone conversation where I wish I could switch companies. However, I'm locked in, and the lady told me that. It was a horrible experience, and I would love to have made a complaint about that lady. She completely should not be in customer service. When somebody's disappointed, you're supposed to help them out, especially when it's their home. That's the whole purpose of being in customer service. I haven't gotten a chance to get back in touch with anybody and speak about my concern again. I'm waiting now. It's year end, and I'll be getting my true up, but it looks like it's costing me more to have Sunrun than it was to not have them. I'm paying one bill each for Sunrun, the electricity company and Tesla.

The installation went very smoothly. They had it done in a couple of days. I had to wait quite a while to get approval from the city. But once they got it, they moved quite quickly. My electric bill has gone down significantly.

We went to Sunrun because of David. He's still helping us with the customer service. He's the best. He's been very helpful with every step. He made sure that we understood what was going on. The system is working very well. Our last bill was about nine bucks. So, we're under the limit of the solar power of what we're supposed to take, and doing very well.

Our experience started out very well, and the consultant who guided us through the process was very responsive and helpful. During the installation process, our gutter was bent, and they were very quick to respond and send someone out to fix it. Before installing the panels, Sunrun sent someone out to inspect the roof to make sure it was in good condition and able to support the panels. They advised that our roof was in good condition to support the panels. Having no knowledge of roofing, or the ability to get up on the roof and look at it ourselves, we trusted this assessment and had the panels installed in 2021.
Recently pieces of our roofing started falling off so we had a couple of roofing companies come take a look and they all advised us that the roof is failing and needs to be replaced immediately. The individual from sunrun who inspected our roof initially did not advise us that the roof was in poor condition. Now, about two years later, in addition to the cost of replacing the roof, it appears that we will have to pay sunrun a large amount of money to remove and replace the panels before we can get our roof replaced. If we had been advised upfront that the roof was in terrible condition, we would have replaced the roof before proceeding with installation of the panels. Now we will be out upwards of $8000 for sunrun to remove and replace our huge solar system.
We contacted their customer service because we don’t think they should have installed the system on a roof that the inspector should have clearly seen only had 2 to 3 years of life left in it, and we can’t afford a new roof along with the removal and re-installation fees for the panels. The senior escalations expert that I was corresponding with to get this issue resolved has stopped responding to me and I don’t know what to do. I am really nervous that my roof is going to start leaking. We are stuck because we can’t replace the roof until we get this issue resolved.
My advice would be to do very extensive research before panel installation and definitely have your own roofer take a look at your roof for suitability before allowing sunrun to install any panels on your roof. Sunrun has a 10 year guarantee against leaks caused by the panels. Even the roofer who sunrun sent out after we initiated this complaint admitted that our roof was failing and that if it was his roof, he would replace it immediately. If the roof was good enough condition to install panels on and has already degraded to the point of failing, that tells me that the degradation was caused by the panel installation process or the weight of the panels. Either that or they were dishonest about the condition of our roof from the get-go to expedite installation, or to make more money down the road, knowing that we would have to pay them to uninstall and reinstall the panels.
As the next step in moving toward a resolution of this issue, sunrun asked us to obtain a roofing report from our roofer which we obtained and sent to them and then they just stopped responding to us. We are saving a lot of money on electricity, which is amazing, but the cost of damages that could result from a leaky roof may not outweigh our savings.

Sunrun was able to put the panels up quickly. It's working well, and finally, I have enough power to use till the end of the year. I had some panels up before, but what I didn't realize when they put them up was that they weren't covering all my energy needs, which they didn't bother to tell me. Sunrun came in and I had them put up my panels and we're happy with them so far. The rep was very helpful. I called him several times for different information. He was quick to return the calls and answered my questions. I was happy with the whole experience.

I purchased Ford F-150 Lightning and on 12.05.2023 and was supposed to receive Ford Charging Station from SunRun by mail. One month later I have not received the charger and they sent an email saying that they are behind on shipping chargers. I spent $80 K on the truck that I can not charge at home (except only with mobile charger ich charges only 2-3 miles an hour). Ford’s big mistake is contracting SunRun to ship the chargers out (why not just give it to the customer at the dealerships), so the SunRun can sell their services.

I would recommend Sunrun to my family and anybody else. My experience has been positive. It was very well done, very professional from the moment we started until the completion. There is a small leak in my roof because of the solar panels when they were installed over our porch, so they're gonna come out this Friday and follow up on the warranty on it. I'm happy with them.

I found out during the signing of the contract, Sunrun is associated with Costco, which I liked. In general, Sunrun is a very good company. I like them in general except they do a terrible job of giving information on the power output from the day before. They give a crummy graph. And when I click the other thing, they also tell how much output was generated the day before. It's there most of the time. Some of the time, it's not. I sent Sunrun an email at one time, told them it was crummy and they needed to fix it, but I never heard back from them. When I click on something, I expect to have the information on there, and it's not on there.
One time, I called up to see if they could put in a power wall. It's a battery that the panels charge, and you could run the battery. It's a big device. It's 2 ft. by 3 ft. And I could use that during with Xcel energy. We were on the time-of-use thing, so I could program the power bank to generate electricity that was already previously generated by the panels. I could use the power bank to charge my usage during the day instead of using the high cost time-of-use program. And I called them about that, and at one time, they said it wasn't available. I called them a year after that. They said they would have somebody get in contact with me, but they never did. But it's not that urgent.*

My experience with Sunrun was easy. They were helpful. Their agent assisted us through the whole process. Their price is also lower than the other places we were looking at. The locals were great. They dealt with a difficult HOA as best they could. All questions were answered fully and promptly. My only negative would be the engineering team being located on the mainland in a different time zone. They could not physically review the site so mistakes in planning were made.

The salesperson was superb! The initial technicians need more training. I have 61 panels and they were wired wrong, for me I am paying two bills for 4 monthly (currently) with little or no production from 61 panels. Call customer service and the initial was nice and took my complaint. The regional area manager reached out to me. I received an email that she got the complaint and that she would reach out... That never happened so in the last four months I would have paid $2000+ when without them I would have paid $700. Do not see a benefit. Paying them to sit 61 panels on my new roof without really helping me falls within the lemon law in my mind. I going to wait and see the outcome of the bill and if by the end of next month there is no improvement, I will turn the system off and wait to go to court.

The salesman came out, set the system up and everything was fine. It worked perfectly. They did the drone, looked in the attic and told me what they were gonna do. Everything was to the dot the first time. A year later, I purchased a Tesla so I needed extra panels and I had a problem with Sunrun. They weren't upfront on what they were gonna do. The salesman said, based on what I have, I was gonna need so many and they would go a couple over to be safe. That was great. But once I got the Tesla, he said I would need some extra panels. He never said it was a different contract and I have two payments now.
When I got the bills, I didn't understand why I was behind on one of my bills. It’s automatic and he said they were two different bills because they can't bundle them. He never told me that upfront. I probably still would have gotten it but I would have known about it. I had already purchased a Tesla so it wouldn't have made much of a difference on that but the salesman never said it was the only way they could do it. I told him and he said he did. I know he didn't because it was three months and I was calling accounting and I was told what happened. But I am happy with the service with Sunrun. It has nothing to do with the salesman. He wasn't the same one from the year before. If you don't ask, they won't tell you certain things and he thought maybe I wouldn't get Sunrun for panels. But I was still gonna get them because I have the vehicle.
I see what the Tesla costs to charge every night because I use it every day. But I'm under and still have a credit with STG. So, it's not like I go above and beyond and try to use as much current as I can because I have panels. It's still my wife and myself, so we're still under but I'm fine with that. I'm very satisfied with the service and it was just that part that the salesman said he was sure he told me.
I'm in San Diego County and my aunt who I lived with for 15 years lives in Cucamonga. I called Sunrun and they referred me to a different salesman out in Cucamonga. So, he went out and did the estimate on my aunt’s house and everything was ready to go. That was six months ago. They did all the work. But two weeks ago, the salesman came back and told her she has to pay $2,300 because they screwed up on the estimate that they have to do something with the existing electrical panels and there's a charge. My aunt is on social security so she's tight with her budget. So I talked to him and I said I had them do my service and my neighbors too. But now they’re telling me it's $2,300 for them to finish my aunt’s. She doesn't have the money. He said he was gonna call Sunrun and see what he could do so she wouldn't have to pay. He told me he screwed up. He should have told her but he didn't.
It was the salesman and Sunrun who got lost somehow on that extra charge. But so far, they haven't hooked it up. He hasn't called me back to see what the deal is. This was Tuesday of last week and we're just waiting on him to see what he's gonna say. There's no way my aunt can pay it even if it's payments because she's just trapped. It's a four-bedroom house and her husband died. It was a slip-up. But besides that, everything's fine. I live on a cul-de-sac so it's hard because I don't know the other neighbors that live up the street. But any chance I can, I'm always telling them to go to Sunrun. They can't go wrong. The guys that came out did all the service. They painted all the tubing and the conduit. Everything was nice and they didn't cut any corners. It's perfect.

Sunrun is great. When I signed up, they took the information from the Costco membership card and scheduled an appointment. It was very easy. The reps were very professional. They looked at my bill, asked me questions and assessed the house. Everything got approved and then, they ordered the panel through Costco, which generated savings for me and another guarantee, which made me feel more comfortable with Sunrun. I began the process in March and everything was approved by the city and the panels came in by June. They scheduled the installation around my time and it took them one day to install it. Sunrun came out as well as the city and they inspected it. The city had to remove a panel because it was gonna generate too much electricity. Sunrun came back and removed that very quickly and professionally. There was no damage to my house and they did not try to sell me a new roof.
The system has been active for over a year and I saw big differences in my bill. I was on a level billing plan and I didn't know I had to change. So, I didn't see it immediately. I called Con Ed, which is my electrical company and they said I gotta come off the level billing. I did and had a bunch of credit. I was being overcharged so for four months, I didn't pay a light bill. All summer, I paid $30 and now, because it's getting darker earlier, my recent bill was $70 maybe. I loved going solar. I didn't have any problems that people say they have. My installation was very neat and professional.
Most people don't even realize I have solar because Sunrun did such a good job. I would recommend them. One of the extra benefits I get with Costco is that if I have a problem, Costco is gonna step in. They monitor it along with Sunrun. I got savings on the panel because I've spoken to other Sunrun customers who have not gone to Costco, and for what I got, my system was great, at a good price.

I've tried to cut down my usage but knowing that I had solar, I was not too worried about it. Then at the end of the year, if I overproduce, I get a credit back from the local utility company. And if I don't produce 95% of what Sunrun guaranteed, they pay me a small check for the difference. So, it's a win-win. I haven't had any problems with the system, but in the new systems, each panel has its own built-in inverter. Compared to the older system that I bought, which was more expensive, I only have one inverter for the whole system. And they say that the average lifespan on that is 10 to 12 years and if it goes within the 20 years of my lease, Sunrun replaces it at their cost.
I use the app on my phone to track my usage, but I mostly use the website because I like to run various reports and it's easier to have the report sent directly to an Excel spreadsheet so I can check how much I produced in a month. And I can use custom dates. This way, I can compare what I'm recording versus what my bills have been.
All in all, I would recommend Sunrun. There were some issues that I tried to get in touch with them and they just replied with standard answers. So, I wasn't enthralled with their customer service. But other than that, I haven't had any major problems. The panels are Samsung panels and they're projected to produce at least 90% of what the original production was after 20 years. And from what I'm measuring, they're producing still up in the upper 90s and it's been almost 10 years. I'm lucky none of the panels have failed that I can tell because I'm overproducing what I'm expected to produce. At the end of the year, Sunrun is always writing me a check for 100 or 80 bucks, so I really can't complain.

Two young guys came to the front door with the pamphlet for Sunrun. They had the basic information about the product and they explained that they were working in the homes that were in the area. Whatever question I had, they could answer. Then they said they could have someone call me and make an appointment then we could go from there. No more than a week later, their rep came out. The guy was here explaining everything and he said we could either rent or buy or something else, but we really didn't understand the benefits because I had to call him back at least once. They also gave us a timeline for the installation, but there were all these normal obstacles with the county and the city, and it happened about six months from the time that I agreed to put up the solar panels and we signed the contract.
The install was excellent and the guys who were here were artists. They were very polite and they explained what they were going to do. They came twice because we had so many panels. We had 44 panels put up and they were here for two days. They were quiet when they did their work and there wasn't any damage. Twice a day, they would inform me of where they were and what they were doing.
All in all, Sunrun did a good job and I would suggest to my friends to talk to them. The equipment works good and we haven't had any problems with it. It's well worth the investment. But you have to ensure that you know the option you're choosing and what that option involves. I thought that with the leasing I was doing, I would get an annual inspection. That was one of the reasons I went with that option because it was my understanding that they would come at least once a year and inspect, clean the system, and give me a good update. But I found out that they do not do any inspection. They only come and inspect if there is an issue.

The enrollment process was very easy. One of the reps came to the warehouse and explained everything about the contract. My husband decided to go with Sunrun, and they have great customer service. I had this lady, Martha, who called every day to give us an update or how the process was going on before the installation. Everything went smooth. They sent a crew to install the panels. It was done within one day after it was approved by the city. We got 12 panels, and I have seen a difference on my bill. I always take a look at the bill, compare it to previous bills and see how much we're producing.

The enrollment process was very simple. There was a contract and a lot of explanation about the program, but it was clear. Sunrun explained everything with details and they were patient trying to make me understand how it was gonna work. The system is working well, and so far, my experience has been good. The only thing I didn't think about was I still have to pay for the gas and the garbage bills. When I signed up with Sunrun, I didn't realize that the other bills were together with San Diego Gas and Electric. Now, I have other bills on top of that, so I'm not saving money.

Enrollment through Sunrun worked out well. I have 13 panels, and I have a low electric bill compared to everybody else. The only electricity bill that I have for it is just for the connection, and the rest aggregates off my house. I want more panels to offset my bill completely, but everybody wants to sell them and it's a tango with the lease with Sunrun and I don't believe Sunrun does business in Oregon anymore.

Enrollment with Sunrun was good. The plan itself was explained to me thoroughly, including how it works and how much savings I will get after a few years. I won't be able to realize that in the first few years, but I haven't encountered any problem at the moment, except right now, it's winter and the system is not producing as much as I want. I also don't know how to read the billing of our power provider, LADWP. It's different. There's a lot of tier that, "How does this work? How do I read this? Am I saving or am I really getting enough energy or not?" The only thing that I could see is that, "Well, I'm getting credit. That means I'm producing more than what I'm using." I pay about 160 a month, which is about 300 every two months. It's, more or less, the average amount of electric bill that I am getting from LADWP every two months. It goes up during summer because of the air con. That's where the saving goes.

I'm so thrilled with my Sunrun experience. At first I was the biggest skeptic. I was sure there was some angle where the company was getting the better of me, but after multiple spreadsheets, due diligence and some serious tire-kicking, the Sunrun deal turned out to be as good as they said it was. My rep, Damian, was incredibly attentive and worked with me every step of the way. His high integrity and great communication made the entire experience enjoyable. Now I'm the cool kid on the block with my snazzy new solar panels and Tesla Power Wall. As everyone else's PG&E bill continues to skyrocket, we're basking in the Sunshine of a locked-in low monthly bill. It feels like I'm the one getting the better end of this deal.

When I first went with Sunrun, I didn't use them because the pricing was very expensive, but so was every other solar company. Then the pricing came down and Sunrun came out with better panels. From the purchase to the install and to the follow-up, everything was excellent. They were very easy to deal with. One time, the electric company came in and turned off our power switch. I contacted Sunrun and they were excellent. They told me how to troubleshoot it right over the phone. I've had them since 2018 and I'm completely satisfied with them.

After my installation, every request for service has been shot down or dismissed. I requested critter guards to be installed at the time of contract signing. They were never installed and I was told it was too late. I then developed a water leak on my ceiling directly below the installed panels. I was told it wasn't from their installation although no one ever came to inspect. I now have (2) shattered solar panels on my roof and when I asked for a service visit, I was told this will not impact the function of the panel so no service visit is needed. This company promises the world but drops you as soon as your panels are installed. Trust me, find another solar company.

They claim they check your roof before installing solar panels and they do not, my roof starting leaking and sagging and they refuse to fix it. Tried putting blame on me. My roof was fine before these went up. They do not honor warranty and will not fix your roof if you have issues as I was told they would. They won't remove panels either. Horrible customer service and company.

I was referred to SunRun by the gentleman who built my home. He referred representative Bryce ** to me and when I contacted Bryce he connected with me quickly! We scheduled time based off my schedule which was wonderful. I didn't feel pressured to pick a time that didn't work for me. When we met Bryce was extremely professional and answered all my questions and I had A lot. He was patient and informative. Once we were able to move forward he made sure to explain all the documents I was signing and again answered all my questions with patience! I was then contacted by customer service representative Ana ** who stayed in contact with me throughout the process and again answered all my questions.
The best part was that they communicated with me via the best way for me. Text and email. The team that arrived at my home was EXCELLENT!! It was like they were never there. They did their job, cleaned up afterwards and the gentleman in charge even did a second Walk around to make sure there was nothing left on my property my dog could find it step on! The process has been smooth and all my fears and doubts about having moving forward has been smooth. At this time I'm happy with our choice to work with SunRun and their team.

I’ve had solar on my house for 3 years now and it works amazing. Thiago did solar for me and a few of my neighbors and I have sent him a few referrals as well. System costs $0 install. My monthly is $140 and I have a $1,500 credit currently with Eversource. I was concerned about looks but Thiago and Sunrun did an excellent system at my house and I covered my inverter behind a bush. I used to pay $200 or so in 2020. The price for power now is insane! Thank you Thiago.

I'll start off by saying first the equipment works well. But their customer service transparency and honesty leaves a lot to be desired. This company is anything but easy to deal with and the promise of easy transference for any qualified people if you sell the house is absolute **. They have now officially cost me thousands trying to close a sale on my house because they will absolutely not do the paperwork they need to do fail to send the paperwork multiple times and all around just Dodge phone calls until you're blue in the face. They may be okay another states but if you're getting this in California specifically around the San Diego area avoid these parasites.

One star...two more than they deserve. I had to pay WEC 300$ for another meter...never mentioned that during the pitch, and that is the smallest problem with these liars. This is a deceptive and dishonest company that only cares about how many installs and contracts they can do...not caring if it is done correctly to the home they put their panels on, and they refuse to correct their errors when confronted that the installation is wrong, creating a severe and imminent hazard to my home. One panel is 2 inches from the other roof that makes up the valley, and when the snow comes to Cabot, and it will come to my house, at 2000ft elevation, it is going to rip the roof off my home that the panels are attached to when it slides, or build up so deep that it poses the threat of collapsing.
I heat with wood, and cannot access my chimney to clean it, because the panels are in the only way up to the chimney. I have the diagram of what the installers were supposed to do, and it does not look anything like what was done. 4 panels were supposed to go on the garage, but all 12 got stuffed onto one roof on the house. I have been lied to repeatedly when trying to seek a solution to this abomination of an installation. When I pointed out to the installers that this is not right, on the day of the install, I was told they were done for the day, and would come back. Never did, and never had any intention of fixing their erroneous, incompetent job. These guys could not count their bolts or nuts twice and come up with the same number.
I have asked Nelson, the sales guy for help, over a month ago, and was told that something would be done...well "something" was done... I have been put off and ignored...that is "something"!! A tech was scheduled to come out for a communications problem. I went 4+ months not being able to see what the system was doing. I was told a time frame I HAD to be home for this visit to fix the communications problem. I waited, and waited, and when the time window was up, at 5 pm, I called the company to see what the deal was, and was told the time window was in Pacific time, not Vermont time. Really?!? 3000 miles away?!? I missed an afternoon of work for nothing. Might as well have used GMT as a reference.
He finally showed up, a couple hours later. The tech photographed the job done by the install crew, acknowledging that the job was done incorrectly, and promised he would start the process for the panels to be moved. Nope...nuthin..not a peep after. In 'fairness'.....they gave me a credit of half what income I lost. The communications problem was not rectified until a couple weeks ago. I have tried for 6 months to get this hazard corrected. I was told the legal department had to review the issue, and they would get back to me within 3 business days. That was a month and a half ago...nary a peep from anyone. The install crew did not have to contact Legal to change the agreed upon specific design that they were sent up here to install.
I've stopped paying my monthly bill until this is corrected. If you go with the lease program, you're stuck with what you get, even if it is wrong. I get several calls a day about my past due bill, but nothing about correcting the incompetence of the install crew... Lots of peeps about me being past due... Sometimes 3 or 4 calls a day from spoofed VT numbers from a call center on the other side of the country. I tell them I'll make a payment when a crew shows up to move the panels that are endangering my home.
I really wish I had never done business with this dishonest company. They represent the worst of the worst. They will tell you anything to get you signed up, and then leave you flapping on the breeze with NO support, and a product you pay for that is a hazard that they refuse to remedy, or even acknowledge. Run from Sunrun....no other company can possibly be this bad.

The fellow that sold Sunrun to us was very patient and willing to answer all our questions. He explained everything and he wrote it down. So that was good. The people that came out explained everything. They cleaned up after themselves and then they have a thing online where you can check in to see what your next step is. So it was good and easy. I only pay Sunrun now and it's much less than what my bills have been. I have a direct deposit with them to take the money out. But they still send me a bill that says paid, and I appreciate that. When I was switching to another electric company, I was told that I had to let Sunrun know. But the lady that I spoke to didn't seem to know anything about it. She said they didn't need that information. But the other times that I talked to customer service, it was very good.
The primary electric company told me that I had a certain amount of money because the electric company buys back this electric that the solar uses. They told me that I'd be getting a check and it takes about six weeks. So the time passed and I called the company, Eversource Energy, and I asked them when I was gonna get my check. They said they don't give me that money. They hold that money and I only get it if I move out of the service area or I switch electric companies. So I called Sunrun and they said that they couldn't do anything about it. That was just how it was. But I didn't know that because I thought that they buy it back. It's awful.

I purchased Sunrun panels via Costco about 5 years ago. While I'm extremely happy with the production of clean energy, I am incredibly dissatisfied with Sunrun's original install and follow through with customer service. During the install, they created a hole in our garage roof at least the diameter of a quarter - it was so obvious, the sun was shining through! How they could have missed that, I still do not know. We are now in need of a new roof. I asked the original representative, when I purchased the panels, about the process if/when we needed a new roof. He said it was an "easy" process. So far, it has been quite the opposite.
I called generic customer service Friday, Oct 13 and talked to “Christina”. She sent me the remove/reinstall form and said someone would contact me within 5-7 days after I submitted the form. I submitted the form that day, Friday, Oct 13. I resubmitted a form the week following because I hadn’t heard anything. I thought maybe I did something wrong? nope.
As I type this review today, Nov, 8, not one human has contacted me. I have received a ridiculous amount of “how did we do” emails. I will tell you now, Sunrun is not doing well in my opinion. I have contacted customer service again, multiple times and via multiple avenues. On Oct 31 I called TWICE - both times the auto-bot said the “wait time is less than 5 min”. First call I was on hold for 47 min. Second time I was on hold 38 min. Definitely not less than 5 min.
During the second call I began a live chat with an online “person”. They said I had some Docusign paperwork sent to my email (after I had selected phone as the best way to get ahold of me on the original form- why even ask if you’re just going to email anyway?). They gave me the number for the removal/reinstall contact - that auto-bot said it was an 81 minute wait and I could, instead, press 1 for someone to call me back. That was Oct 31 and still, to this day, not one human has contacted me.
I found the Docusign estimates in my junk folder and, with some serious hesitation, signed it - hoping that would prompt SOMEONE to contact me. That was Nov 2. I've heard nothing. So, yesterday (Nov 7), I decided to contact the live chat again. They gave me my case number a case manager, Johnatan ** and said to wait ANOTHER 3 days after saying my case is now “high priority”. I’d hate to see what low priority looks like. I have emailed and called my case manager 4 times as of today and still heard nothing. His voicemail answers every time and says he's "not in the office right now". Is he ever there?
I’m feeling a little stuck. The chasing around to get a human to simply contact me after I’ve done everything I need to do starting 3+ weeks ago is ridiculous. And not sustainable. I have a job - I can’t stay on hold for hours on end ignoring my life and I’m nervous thinking about how long it will take for someone to get a hold of me once I do get a new roof to reinstall my panels.
Now I’m looking through all the reviews and see I’m not the only one with this situation. This is something I was told was an “easy” thing to do when I signed up with your company - now I feel like it’s the exact opposite and your company is truly bringing a lot of undue stress and worry into my life. How am I supposed to know your company actually isn’t as efficient as they claimed to be? How long will I have to wait for them to reinstall - using non-sustainable electricity (which is exactly what I want to avoid) - to get a simple call-back?
Sounds like Sunrun should either step up their customer relations and/or allow us to use an outside service to remove panels so that customers can do what was promised to be an "easy" process. They state the warranty will be nullified if we do use another provider. What about any accountability on Sunrun's part if they don't do what they promised? (especially considering the promise is as mundane as a simple phone call). What can we do, as consumers, to hold them to the same standards for which they hold us?

The process with Sunrun took a little while but it wasn't bad. It was because they needed to get my information and follow their own procedure to install the system. When they got it installed, there was some damage to my wall. They did not fix it and I had to call them over and over. But in the long run, everything was sorted out because they gave me some money for the damage, which was about $800 and some change, and the claims process didn't take long.
The solar is somehow connected side by side with the SMECO meter and everything's working good because ever since it was installed, I've not gotten any breakdown. But if I consider the money I pay for the solar and the money I keep paying for the electricity as one, I'm paying more now. I used to pay less than$200 for my electricity bill, but now that I got the solar, I pay about 100 and something dollars every month for the solar and sometimes I could get a bill of about 100 or more. So if I spend the two together and compare with my previous bills when I never had solar, I was spending less when I did not have solar than now that I have solar. Also, when I asked about the principal, it went up to about $150,000 and that's too much.

I'm leasing with Sunrun and the first couple of years, the system was very on and off and I had a lot of repairmen. But after they got it fixed, I haven't had any problem. For the month that I did not have the solar at all, they gave me a discount on my monthly payment. But one thing that I'm really upset about is that, when I bought it, they said that they took care of all the repairs and that included cleaning the panels. I cannot get anybody to clean the panels. When I go into Costco and asked the salesman there, he said it was included. But Sunrun just kind of wash me off.

The first time, we put in 15 panels and it went like clockwork. The second time, it was a disaster. The project manager kept on dropping the ball and it took six months from installation to the system to it being turned on. Other than that, it was easy to enroll and the system has been saving us a lot of money. I have an electric truck and I put current in that. I don't have to pay for anything. I'm loving it.

The sales representative was very polite, and he explained things in simple terms. And he also encouraged a lot of questions, especially if I didn't really understand something. I was repetitive and he was really patient in explaining things for me again and not making me feel bad for it. He was there step by step to make sure everything went smoothly. I have never heard of a company that penalizes you for not having auto pay. I was told that if I do not choose to participate in auto pay that I will be charged $7.50 more per month. That is $90 more per year. If I participate they will be deducted the money a day earlier. This does not work well for people on fixed incomes.

Sunrun put on 28 panels. What I asked for was what they calculated. The installers were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and weren't rowdy. They went right down to business and did everything that they had to do. It was the same thing with the gentleman who came out to the house to survey our roof to make sure everything was okay to move forward with the installation of the panels. So, they were very good with that piece of it. Supposedly, our neighbor already has solar panels on their house and was happy with the product. But I was very apprehensive about it. The only reason why I elected to go with the solar panels was so that I could try to shorten my electric bill, but that's not the case. If anything, Sunrun charges me $203 a month.
There have been times when I was on straight electricity where my bill would be much less. And when we first got up and running, because I wasn't familiar with the process and in the winter time, you don't always have as much fun as you do in the summertime, I was getting hit essentially with three electric bills rather than two. My house is on one meter and our garage is on its own separate meter. So when the panels kicked in back in December of ’22, I was getting hit for the house with Sunrun as well as National Grid, which greatly pissed me off. In the very beginning when I found out that I was getting hit with two bills, I filed a complaint for being hit with a monthly bill of $203 plus my National Grid.
After speaking with the two young men who came to our house to try to convince us to sign on to the product, I felt like I was taken advantage of because I didn't truly understand all that was anticipated with the product and how the process worked. I spoke with the manager but they were supposed to try to reach out to the individual to find out exactly what he went over and what the anticipation was, and what my process was like. This is so that others wouldn't fall into the same step that I fell into, a misunderstanding, and they'd be more knowledgeable if they decided they wanted to choose that particular product or stay with the standard electricity from National Grid. But they got back to me eventually and told me that they were unable to contact that gentleman who came by our house.
At this point, contractually, we're stuck with the solar panels. We signed a 25-year contractual agreement. And whatever the value is of those panels after the 25 years, we would pay the difference. What they're charging us now is the monthly fee for the generation of the electricity from those panels. In my eyes, after I talked with our neighbor across the street, he was paying a monthly fee to the company for the purchase of the panels, but he is not paying for electricity. So, I'm just the opposite, the way we're set up here.
Sunrun is gonna grab you one way or another. So, instead of telling you to buy the panels, they would say they would charge you for the electricity and then you won't have to pay for the panels until after 25 years. And then they'll flip the value. So, it's the same thing. I will sell my house before the 25 years are over just so I can get out of this contractual arrangement with Sunrun. And the only reason why I don't mind doing that is because I will be retiring soon. Sunrun has a website that allows me to sign on and look at how much electricity has been generated. They've created a decent website. Had I begun with a good experience with them, then I probably would care. But I almost never sign on to that website now because I just have no love for Sunrun. I just wait for my monthly notification. They tell me my electric bill and I go to BillPay and pay it. And when I talk to others, I tell them they don't wanna go with this company.

We chose to go with SunRun because we were referred to them and the salesperson was friendly and knowledgable. He drove around the neighborhood with my wife to look at other solar installations. My wife pointed out which ones were appealing and which were not. The salesperson promised her that the tracks on our roof would NOT be aluminum color, but black. Black panels do not look good on aluminum colored rails. Makes the brackets stick out like a sore thumb. The installation crew arrived on a very rainy day and installed the panels. My wife pointed out that the tracks were NOT black, but rather the very aluminum she was promised we would NOT get. The installer told her the reason they were using these particular brackets was that they were easier to install.
We reached out to the Salesperson. Got basically crickets. We got an email from the Installation Coordinator who mentioned that he'd need to talk to the Construction Manager who was on vacation. More wait time. This issue currently remains unresolved, the panels are producing electricity and seem to work well. The App to monitor production and usage doesn't actually show production and usage in real time, only a recap of the previous day's production. Pretty weak tea. ln sum I am less than blown away by the customer service and excuses we've heard from SunRun about our installation.

Horrible Experience with Sunrun Solar. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted with the service provided by Sunrun Solar. Despite contacting numerous representatives and supervisors, my issues with non-functioning solar panels persist. We spoke to Anda M on 6/16, Moria C on 7/12, Boris S on 9/25, Deja R on 10/4, Natalia P on 10/9, Ebony T on 10/9, Daniela P on 10/9, Akeia P on 10/16, Carl B on 10/17, Ivan H on 10/19, Maria A on 10/20, Marissa on 10/20, Ivan H on 10/26, and Daniela R on 10/27. We were assured a refund of well over $2,000 but Sunrun has failed to rectify the situation despite numerous attempts.
Attempts to address the inefficiency of the solar panels have been futile, and the company has refused to investigate or provide the promised refund. This blatant disregard for customer concerns and the apparent lack of effort to resolve the issue is unacceptable. It seems like they are knowingly charging us for non-producing solar panels, which they have acknowledged. Our solar panels have not been producing since April 2022, 0 kilowatts from then to now. They have even told us we have out of date inefficient equipment, yet they refuse to fix our current system.
The refusal to pull phone calls and the overall lack of due diligence further highlight Sunrun's negligence. This experience has left me frustrated, dissatisfied, and feeling as though I've been taken advantage of since I have been a customer since November 2017. I strongly advise others to reconsider choosing Sunrun for their solar needs, given the company's apparent disregard for customer satisfaction and commitment to resolving issues.

It was a very easy process to get the contract. Also, the price and package they had was very attractive. The installation took a week and there was a little disruption with our daily activities. But we survived it and it worked fine. The production varies depending on whether it's cloudy or summer. I'm getting used to what the system can produce every month. The system is very good and we save money with it through summertime. Most of the months from January through May in Phoenix, our electric bill was negative and we made more electricity than we used. During the summer, we pay the summertime, we pay some additional over what we pay to Sunrun. But that is expected because without solar, we would pay a lot more. We recommend Sunrun. We've called them for inquiries and they answer right away. I couldn't ask for better service.

Everything with Sunrun is going well. Their rep was very helpful and the whole thing went smoothly. The installers advised me on certain things, which really worked out for me. As far as my bill, I used to pay between 180 something to 200 and sometimes 300 and something, but right now, with what I pay to ComEd and what I pay to Sunrun, it's not even up to $100. I'm extremely satisfied. I've even introduced somebody to Sunrun, and they did the installation for her and she was really happy about it.

The salesman came by about two years ago. He gave me his card and it was no pressure. Then I called them back and he was very, very helpful. We figured everything out. I was a little slow to learn the process of solar, so he took the time to explain it to me. They were installed in December of last year. We had an installation crew come out and they got everything installed in one day.
Sunrun had to send someone else back to do the grounding of the units. It had to be grounded in two places and that was where we had a little bit of a problem because when checked by the city of San Jose, apparently there were supposed to be two of them, and the guy put one, and it was too close to the PG&E gas meter. So he had to change that. It got resolved and we've been using the system, so it's been very beneficial. We started using the system in early January of this year. Last summer, we had a PG&E and our bill was $660. But this summer in the same house, we had an electric bill of about $20.

Enrolling with them was all right. But in the first year, PG&E sent me a bill of 800 bucks 'cause I wasn't getting enough energy from solar. I almost had a heart attack. But they reimbursed me that money. At first, I was paying less with PG&E, and then all this happened. I wasn't very happy with that at first. My bill always changes and I don't like that.

Enrolling with them was pretty good. But I developed a leak in the roof, and they had to take some panels off to get the roof fixed. Then, they had to put them back in. The reps were good about that. I like that during the summertime, the system cuts down on my electrical bills.

Everything was great when I enrolled. The people I spoke to when I had a call for questions about billing were polite. The installation of the system went very well. The techs were very professional. They went as far as asking whether the system was okay. They went over the piping they set around the home for the electrical perfectly. They matched the stucco color on the piping so it wouldn't stand out. And the people that were handling all the panels were very respectful people. They had an associate here with the inspector making sure everything was installed properly and that everything is functional. We're happy with the system. Financially, it's been great because our electric bill during the summertime was very high.

Getting the city and Sunrun up and running was a little bit slow but once it finally did, I was totally happy with it. There was an issue with the engineering side of it, but I let Sunrun know and they were responsive to my concerns. They gave me some credit for the work because they had to do a little bit of structural work. Sunrun has been great. We got an upsized panel, which is nice. It seems good. Especially at the time I got it, the whole supply chain stuff was going on and so they shuffled stuff around to make sure that we could get it installed with good panels. The app is not gonna blow your socks off but the company has been responsive too every time that the app has led me to reach out and they’ve been present enough.

Their reps stayed in contact with us throughout the whole process and they were very cordial and respectful of our time. It's been over a year since we've been with them and it has saved utilities drastically. Also, the app is as good as far as apps go. It works and it shows me what I like to see. It shows my usage, but not just that day, for the week, month, and year. The only thing I regret is not getting a solar battery. I didn't have the funds at the time but I can add it via storage battery later on. That's what we plan to do so that increases our efficiency in the home.

In July/August 2023 I booked an appointment for Oct 23, 2023 for removal of solar panels so my roof could be replaced, the time given to me was between 7 AM to 12 noon, but no one contacted me and I got worried and contacted customer service via chat and phone and was told to contact courtnie.nuttall@sunrun.com via email. I got no proper information from anyone as to when the techs are coming to remove the solar panels. At 11:30 AM I got a call stating that they can't remove the panels today due to sick crew which was a lie as when I spoke to the team lead I got to know that they have taken extra work which they are unable to fulfil.
This completely spoiled my festive season and also I am unsure that my insurance company is going to continue to give me insurance as they want me to replace my roof ASAP. The roofers have taken advance and they are asking me for more money as they had booked their days to work on my roof. It is a complete disaster monetarily and psychologically for me and my family as we can't decorate our roof with lights. Sunrun on top it is charging humongous amount of money. DO NOT USE SUNRUN.

Sunrun is reliable and has good value. Jim was the representative that I worked with. He was on top of things, kept me informed. Any questions, he answered instantly. Or text messages, he responded within minutes, not days. Also, their rep answered my question, got somebody out, and addressed my issue in a very timely manner. My utility bills in the summer used to run $600 running the AC. And since going solar, I have a monthly credit rather than having to pay the utility company. Only once in the last year and a half have I had any payment due, and it was $15. So, the only thing I'm paying for my utilities is what I pay Sunrun for the solar panels. I also got a very nice partial credit back from the utility company for the excess energy that I produce. So, that's good. I save money but also contribute to the grid. Also, I don't worry about losing power when I work from home.

My experience has been great. It's fun to watch the meter go backwards or watch it bank some months and be able to use those on months where we go over. It's nice to be able to have some electricity that we don't have to pay for, other than the system we paid for. The price is good, and I monitor things on the app, which is good as well.
In terms of customer service, I have had some issues with calling the normal 800 number and trying to get things done, so I reached back out to our salesperson. We liked going solar so much, we had a second system installed on our house about a year and a half after our first system to upgrade it even more. We dealt with Merrick who was the sales guy and he was able to make things work. When I talked to the other people at Sunrun, they couldn't make it work. Merrick has been awesome to work with, and I would highly recommend him. His customer service went above and beyond, which pulled up the normal customer services.

When we were approached about purchasing solar panels the representative came to our house and presented false statements about how solar panels would lower our electricity cost. After 6 months we are paying more in electricity on top of the added bill of the solar panels. DO NOT get the panels because you will have no savings and will pay much more than just paying your electric bill without the panels. Sunrun provided no help when we reached out.

After signing the contract, they became increasingly unresponsive to our calls and messages, providing vague excuses for the delays. This lack of communication left us feeling neglected and frustrated. False Statements and Design Mistake: They initially mentioned that our contract had been voided without providing a clear explanation, only to later mention that a new one had been sent. These conflicting statements were confusing and eroded our trust. Furthermore, it has come to our attention that a significant portion of the delay was caused by a mistake in the system design, which was originally based on my neighbor’s roof and not ours. Now even after 13 months, our solar has not been activated yet.

Sunrun gave us a good price and a good contract so we picked it up. The system didn't make the house look bad and it didn't change anything in the house, so I'm satisfied. I saved a little bit of money once I learned how to use it. Because we have a little bit more people, we use more energy. But before that, we were saving at least $35 a month. All in all, we're good and we're happy. We've had no breakdowns.
Sunrun has good people to me and I personally don't have any problems. But I recommended the neighbor to get it and Sunrun was trying to sell them 23 panels and my neighbor was asking why she needed 23. I don't know why it jumped up so high and where they need it. If Sunrun wants that customer, they need to figure out a way to get it. Also, I recommended Sunrun to a couple of people and they got the panels. But I haven't gotten my compensation for that.

The installation went fine and it looked professional. Everything is working great. I monitor the system and I see how many kilowatts. My electric bill has only been between $35 and $40 all summer long with the solar. So I'm happy with it because I'd be paying a lot more for electricity right now without it, even with the lease payment I'm making to Sunrun. When the system stopped monitoring for three days, I called them and the rep said that they were having problems. It took about a day, but then they got it taken care of.

I've been very happy with Sunrun. I've had three sets of panels they put on my roof first. They added two more sets of panels because I bought a Tesla and I'm charging at home. So, they're very good about it. My monthly payment is lower and I can charge my car at home. Looking at the price of the gas, solar is the best way to go with an electric car. Sunrun is cheaper than SDG&E and the regular electricity. So, I'm saving some money.

Sunrun has been great. The electric bill has been minimal at the end of my first year. There was a credit, and Edison's been applying that credit every month. So far this year, I haven't had to put any cash out. The credit has been paying the monthly $12 that was due. I love it. I love my representative too. He was terrific. He answered all of my questions.

Starting with, Carolyn **, our Sales Manager, was outstanding, she explained everything, step by step in detail, when we decided to have the Solar Panels put on our house, everything went smoothly. The customer service was outstanding, from beginning to end. The permit process, reinforcing our roof, having the inspector approve what was done, they were all very pleasant and easy to work with...we are now waiting for Rhode Island Energy to install a new Meter, once this happens we will be turned on and start saving on our Electric Bill. We had several different people for different aspects of the installation and everyone was very professional, informative, and knowledgeable. I give them a 10 out of 10. With Sunrun, I have saved $100 a month on my utility bill. The website gives you graphs and all kinds of information so you can track it yourself to see your usage. I'm keeping a chart of what I spent last year with my public service and what I'm paying this year.

It was easy to set up to get the solar installed. But we've had a lot of problems since then. They gave us a date for setup. We were planning on moving our car out of the garage while they did it just in case there were any problems with anything falling through from the top side of the roof. They came a day early, and they didn't tell me they were coming. So, they came when I wasn't even home and did it and left. The only reason I knew they had been here was because I found Gatorade empty bottles on the ground in the backyard. I couldn't figure out where they came from so I investigated around the property, and ended up finding out that the solar panels were up in the roof. Our solar broke down recently and it was down for two months. That made me very mad that it took that long for them to come and get it back up and running again. So, I was not happy.
When I referred four people to Sunrun, it was such a battle to get my referral bonus. They didn't just automatically give it to me once they hooked up. I had to keep bothering them and contacting them to get it. I still have one I haven't ever received yet. Sunrun told me, “Oh, you gotta get ahold of that person.” But I told them, “Well, that person lives in San Diego. You guys have all their information I gave you when I referred her.” It showed that she was in the process of it. I won't refer anybody ever again because that was not right.

Before Sunrun came in and put the panels, the tech left his phone number with me and said, "If you could think of anything else that you like to ask." So I called him a couple of times with questions that I had before they did the setup. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't getting into something that I was gonna be sorry down the line. So I wanted to make sure that this was for me and it was right for us. He answered all of my questions and explained everything to the best he could. I was happy with his service and what he explained and the way he explained it.
Last year, I had a big bill and I wasn't happy with that because the reason that I put the solar panels is so I don't have these huge bills. I called Edison and they said that maybe my system wasn't working because I was using their electricity. But I shouldn't be using their electricity because I have panels. He told me, "Well, then you need to take it to the company that set up the panels for you. I don't know what to tell you. I'm just telling you what I see here." So I called Sunrun and I told them what was going on. They checked the system and said that something was not working properly and that was the reason that I had a huge bill. I told them, "Well, I mean, I don't wanna be doing that because now I have a really big bill. I have to pay the bill from Edison and then I have to pay you guys. That wasn't the deal. That wasn't the reason I put the panels." So they said, "Okay. Well, we'll try helping you out, whatever."
They checked it out and found one of the panels was damaged. So they changed it with another one and told me to keep an eye on it. The light has to be green always. So I go out there and check and make sure that the light is green. Since then, it went back to being normal and I'm only getting my bill from Sunrun. When I used the app to look at my bill and they sent me messages, it was pretty good.

Sunrun did a good job for me and I'm pleased with the system. With the exception of fairly small utility bills in July and August, the rest of the year with solar is taking care of it and everything has been trouble-free. Currently, I'm thinking of adding on some panels to it.

I had a rep come here and the experience was good and straightforward. The price was good, and I was told I can save on energy and how I create my own power. It was detailed work. Also, the installers put up the system as quick as possible and so far, so good. We didn't have enough panels the first time, then another salesman came by and we put more panels on our roof.

Our solar panels have been installed and they've been on the house and been working for almost two years. The bill's been great. We haven't really had other than the delivery charges. Going solar was a little bit pricey. I could have gotten a system for quite a bit less. I would recommend Sunrun though. The only issue we had was the installation. I know some of that was out of their hands. When we were waiting to get permission from PG&E to turn on, it was quite lengthy. They put the system in on the 1st of September and we didn't go online until January 1st. I did complain a little bit that it took so long. They did give us a $200 check to help to pay for when it wasn't operating.
The crew that installed the system was fantastic. They were in and out in less than half a day. The sales rep was great, too. They were very informative. She answered all my questions. The app has been great. As far as maintenance, you just have to clean the panels. Otherwise, you lose efficiency. You lose about 15% efficiency if you don't wash them. As long as you're getting a lot of rain, you're fine.

Sunrun had to put a new box in because it wasn't big enough to hold the solar panels. Since having the system, I get $13 for my bill. Sometimes it's $50, and sometimes it's a little less but then sometimes more.

The experience with Sunrun was great until the last three months when the inverter broke down. It took them almost two and a half months to fix it and that made me not very happy because we lost the peak of the generation. And in a couple of months when it was bloody hot and you use more electricity. So I was not impressed by the service. We started with them close to three years ago. Everything was fine and I'm very happy with the system. It is good. But when there is a problem, you expect that it doesn't take three months to fix something.
Switching to solar was beneficial for us. It penciled out very well until it doesn't work anymore. From day one, Sunrun said they had it in stock but they didn't have anyone available to do the work. So, it's a human resource issue. You can keep on fighting them, but it's not my style. I can understand when something goes bad. That's how life is. I have a lease contract for 25 years. So it doesn't cost me anything. The only thing that cost me is I don't generate any solar into the system. So, I pay for electricity now. I use Sunrun’s app, which is how I figured out that I'm not producing. It surprised me because they claim they monitor stuff. So, they should have been ahead of the game. But I like the app a lot.

If I were asked, I would certainly recommend Sunrun. The reps were very good. The ones who installed the system did it in fine fashion, and it looks good. Recently, I had a guy up on the roof. There were a few minor problems with the tiles that he thinks might have been caused by Sunrun but wasn't sure. There's nothing to complain about though. I believe in the concept of solar energy, but I'm not keeping up with PG&E to see if I'm saving any money. I didn't have to pay a lot of money to get the system, and I'm happy with it. It's no big deal for me to pay for it, and I'm getting a little cut back.

Sunrun installed the system when they said they would. They had multiple vehicles come to my house throughout the day and the last guy to come shoved my electric gate open rather than get somebody to open it for him. He damaged the settings on the gate and I was without the use of the electronic function of opening and closing the gate until I was able to find somebody to fix mine. It was for about five months and Sunrun was of no help in this. It was their guy who did it and I've even got emails to prove it. They didn't tell me that if I found somebody to fix it, they might pay for it.
Sunrun sold me 20 panels that each have the ability to produce 400 watts of power and that's 8 kilowatts. However, the inverter that they installed can only handle 6. The sun could be exploding above my house and it'll never go above that. So, it is unbalanced. But that almost never hurts me. The only time it does is when I'm trying to charge my electric car. The system wants to draw 9 kilowatts and it's only producing 6. So, it starts sucking power out of the battery. It's a wonderful Tesla Powerwall 2 battery and it does what it should. It's just I shouldn't have to rely on that battery for some of that power because I've got the panels for it.
Sunrun charged me extra money. Every panel was $8 in my monthly bill and I've got three extra panels, which the inverter can't take the power from them. But other than that, the system is working flawlessly. It comes on when it should. It's costing me the amount of money it's supposed to except it can't produce all the power that Sunrun sold me panels for. I love the app on my phone. It tells me how much power is being produced, how much my house is using, how much is going into the Powerwall battery and it shows me history back for a year. It's good.
Jonie, the rep, was very good and I enjoyed working with her. She took over the order and prevented me from buying more panels but she might have known that the inverter was undersized. She said she would talk with her boss and get back to me. And nothing really came from that. That's happened three times. She's who I went to with the gate. She told me that she had talked with her boss and if I found somebody to fix it, they might pay for it. Hawaii is a strange place and I could not find anybody to repair the gate. I went back to the original people who installed it and they told me the system was badly damaged and I would need to replace the whole thing. And it's gonna cost $1,500. It was simply a setting for where close and open are with the controller. Eventually, when I got my neighbor's guy to come over. It cost me 50 bucks for him to take it apart, click it a few times and get it to go back and forth and get to just the right spot.

SunRun and Solar Energy World Review. Terry **, Earleville MD. Please read this all the way thru before you decide to go with SunRun / Solar Energy World. I do not recommend them! I am very dissatisfied with the service I received from SunRun and Solar Energy World. My solar panels went down on 7/29/2023 and were down for 43 days before they replaced the bad part and got me back up and operating. Listed below are the chain of events.
7/29/23 - system went down. 7/31/23 - I called SunRun and was told Solar Energy World would get back to me in 7-8 business days. 8/9/23 - I called Sunrun again due to no call from Solar Energy World and was told 3 business days. 8/9/23 - called Solar Energy World and had to leave a message. No response back. 8/15/23 - finally got thru and they scheduled a service call for 8/18/23. 8/18/23 - Service tech found the problem and ordered the new part and was told 7-8 business days for the part to come in. 8/22/23 - called Solar Energy World for update on part, No response. 8/23/23 - called again, will keep me updated.
8/28/23 - called Sunrun, they will contact Solar Energy World, no response back. 8/29/23 - called Solar Energy World again for update on part, no response. 8/30/23 - emailed CEO, I was told they are working on it. 9/8/23 - I put a bad review on the Sunrun web site! 9/8/23 - Got a call from Sunrun, repair scheduled for 9/12/23. 9/12/23 - System up and running after 43 days. 9/14/23 - went back and forth with emails to Sunrun CEO till 9/19/23 trying to make me whole for the downtime and lost kwh produced.
My contract reads they are not responsible for lost down time. I would agree with that if it only took a few days to get my system back up and running, but 43 days? I was credited two months of my monthly payments but nothing for the kwh that I lost in 43 days which came to $216 when I averaged the prior two years. First page of my agreement with Sunrun reads. WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED WITH OUR WORRY-FREE SERVICE. I have all the phone records and emails saved to prove my review!

DO NOT Go with sunrun. Still my project is not getting approved from city. My friend's solar project from other providers completed in 2 months. They are very dead slow. After escalation, they contacted me after 4 days. Never saw these much lazy peoples.

I have been with Sunrun for almost 4 years and never been late on any payment. Recently, Colorado been hit by a storm of hail and my roofing was damaged and been issued by my insurance company to fix it, everything was good until the point of removing the panels and reinstalling them which Sunrun was not hopeful and want to charge me $3800 for both removing my solar and reinstalling them even though it is a natural disaster and I have ten years warranty. Firstly, I'm not saving any bills on my electricity and even the charges increased and now I can't fix my roofing because Sunrun are unable to remove them and reinstall them secondly, I can't even breach the contract or cancel the services. 100% theft, 100% you won't save anything but giving extra cash for those criminals who uses the contract on their full benefit, so be safe and do not sign anything with those thief.

Sunrun removed my system while a new tile roof was put on. They will not come out to reinstall it. I am paying about $100 per month extra for electricity b/c Sunrun has me stuck. If I use a 3rd party, Sunrun voids my warranty. Sunrun sent a cost invoice that included $2500 for "engineering." Their field tech told me that only the type of holding clips, made for concrete tiles, will be different for remounting on a flat cement tile roof. Sunrun renegotiated the "engineering" price down to half, or $1250. That is worth maybe 8 engineering hours, but Sunrun doesn't use real engineers for this. In fact, the engineering should be zero because it's not needed to re-install, especially since I already paid an independent structural engineer $900 to confirm that my home attic framing is sufficient to support concrete tile load.
I called and emailed to have my panels put back up and to say I don't believe they do ANY engineering. They have not returned calls or emails. Not coincidentally, Sunrun stopped partnering with Costco as a preferred provider, nationwide, as of late Summer 2023. I lost leverage with Costco, where I contracted with Sunrun 5 years ago, to entice Sunrun to take care of problems.

It would not let me give it zero stars but that’s what SunRun deserves. We signed up for panel upgrades in January 2023. We are in September and my panels are not activated. This company has extremely poor communication. Never scheduled appointments, random people would show up at my house expecting to have access of my property. We called multiple times and sent endless emails for status and never got straight answers. The last time SunRun was at my house was June. I assumed they were done as we didn’t hear from them. Then I got my SCE bill and it tripled. I called them immediately, and the rep informed me that my service was not on. They disabled my old panels and never completed activating the additional panels they installed.
They scheduled an appointment two to three weeks from the day I called. They were “busy” and couldn’t send a tech sooner. We were now in August. My husband took that Monday off and no one showed up. He called and hours later they sent a tech. The tech changed an antenna on my old system, from 2G to 3G, and said my new system is on standby mode and he is not authorized to touch it so we are still offline. We have continued to call and no one has any answers. In the meantime my SCE bill is up to $1600. I live in the desert and it has been extremely hot. I hope this review gets someone’s attention at SunRun and they finish the job asap.

When the Sunrun rep came and talked to my dad, it made my dad think that going solar was gonna be a better deal than paying the light company. When I researched solar panels, I thought it was gonna work itself out because it's generating from the sun, but that's not the way it's working. The rep told my dad that it was gonna be only one bill. So my dad thought it was gonna be all combined together and pay one bill. But we still have to pay the light bill plus pay for the system and he didn't realize that until after the fact. We did all the paperwork and then the installers came. They put the roof up first and they said that was gonna be free. After the roof was put up, they cut the trees down to clear the view for the sun. Then we waited months after that because Sunrun said the home association wasn't responding to them. So the solar panels were up there for a while.
After the home association gave Sunrun the okay to activate the system, it took a little less than a month to activate it. But we're paying the light bill and it was still at $400. My dad is trying to figure it out now, but the bill is already going up. It's 1,300 now. My dad is on a fixed income. So, he's not gonna be able to afford that. So he's thinking about letting them come back and take it down.
Someone else called me from Sunrun and I was trying to explain that to them, but they kept saying that they needed to talk to my dad and that we had to pay it. I called the light company and they have a buyback plan. The bill is still around $200 right now since I got on that buyback plan. But that's still $500 coming from my dad because he's still paying the light company.
When I look at the contract, it's more like the bill is gonna go up each year. But I talked to a lady across the street from me and they're with a different company. She said that her brother is not really paying anything on his, and that you have to do it a certain way in order for you not to be paying that high bill. I tried that, but I still can't figure it out.
Overall, the product is good. But when the power went out over here, I thought that since we have solar, we don't have to worry about it. But our power went out too and came back on the same time everybody else's came back on. So I told my dad that he's gonna have to get a generator either way it goes. But everyone I've talked to at Sunrun has been nice so far. They've been explaining everything and how it really works. I love their website. It's catchy.

I was contacted by SunRun & agreed to a presentation. The rep entered my information & told me that my bill with Duke Energy would be in the $65 range & I would pay SunRun $178 monthly so I signed up. It took many months to acquire the installation & then the service was faulty & my billing was the full amount from Duke Energy plus the SunRun Bill. After a service call SunRun credited my account for the overcharge due to technical problems. Unfortunately their system is still not operating as promised & my billing from Duke Energy is nearly $200 plus their bill so, my cost is substantially more than promised. When I contacted Sun Run Customer Service they said I could not get an offset on the overcharge because my equipment was now functioning properly. Be very careful when considering this option & company!

Our experience with the Sunrun representative was good. That was why we signed up with them. They were good about the installation and they were clean. I didn't even know they put it on. So far, going solar has been good, especially living here in Arizona with the heat. It's helped out with my bills a lot.

I was very pleased with Sunrun's marketing. They answered all my questions. The installation of the panels was delayed because I had to put a new roof on. Once they got the system on, there was a problem with the electric company because they were changing equipment. But once everything matched, everything was okay. It took about six months for everything to get settled. That was longer than we thought but it wasn't Sunrun's fault. On the whole, my experience was great and Sunrun has saved me a lot of money.

I made the terrible decision to take over a Sunrun solar system lease while purchasing a home back in 2015. Since then it has been non-stop headaches. Just to name a few of the issues:
- I am paying more for electricity WITH solar than I would be without it. They agreed to compensate for this, but have only done so once.
- The solar system has failed or ran into problems multiple times, and Sunrun is NOT monitoring the system as promised, so sometimes I will find the system has been down for months! With no monthly discount or compensation.
- Every single time we reach out to have a technician come out, it is a total headache. They either don't answer, don't show up, show up unannounced, or cancel last minute. This has caused some serious conflicts with our tenants, and has caused a tenant to not renew their lease; literally costing me months worth of income! This is unacceptable.
I would love nothing more than to get out of this one sided, unfair, and unfulfilled contract!!

Do not pay early when using AutoPay: I have been on AutoPay since I got solar panels installed with Vivint in 2016. Sunrun apparently brought them out. This is the second time this has happened; I did not complain the 1st time it happened. I do not know the actual date from month to month when they will deduct payment from my account. I looked at my recent payment history and they were all over the place: (the dates were not consistent). This month August 2023, I paid them with my Credit Card on the 21st and on the 22nd they also withdrew from my checking account. This is what happened the 1st time also. I called the customer service number, and the customer service person was nice, she apologized for the inconvenience due to the overdraft on my checking account. She stated she could issue a refund check. But it's not her fault.
What type of computer system are they using if it can't tell that a payment has been made and the balance is zero. (Seems like they are cost cutting on important things, to save a little money). This may seem like nothing to some people but, I consider this to be poor customer service. I know, I have a negative balance for next month. But that's not the point.

Installed solar panels from Sunrun early in the year. Problems started after about three months. A technician came to review the issue and promised to have the parts ordered and installed in three weeks. Even after multiple calls, the problem remains. The customer service is very very poor. Currently working with a lawyer that could facilitate the removal of the panels from my building. Another company is ready to install solar panels at a lower cost. I regret doing business with them. When it was time to sell the product, they were very responsive but nowhere to be seen at this crucial moment. I was hoping to store extra solar energy during summer and use it during winter but I am totally disappointed in Sunrun.

The breaker in the electrical panel has gone out 3 times. The first time was about a month after installation. It has gone out two more times since. Instead of fixing the issue the company just keeps flipping the breaker. Before installation the rep. said if the electrical panel is not able to support the system it will be upgraded at no cost to me. This has yet to happen. The solar has not been working for 3 months now (which happened the first time) In the mean time I am incurring 3 months of a true-up bill. The last time I had to pay $900 in a true-up. What makes things worst is the company sent me instructions on how to fix the problem. I would never recommend Sunrun to anyone, The company is not for the customer.

Of the two years I've had it, Sunrun's system has only worked problem-free for about a year. Sunrun is HORRIBLE at customer service and follow-through. You have to call repeatedly and fight and complain to get them to do anything, and the wait times for the service are atrocious. And when they do service the system, 50% of the time, in my experience, the technician has either NOT fixed the problem, or actually made it worse. They have wasted my time and money, and now I am currently paying them for the system, and SDG&E because their system isn't working. Sunrun is, by far, the most inefficient, ineffectual, and incompetent company I have ever dealt with, and I regret signing the contract every day.

The process with Sunrun went perfectly. The installation was very quick. It took shorter than we were expecting. I love the guys who helped me so much. We even referred our family. We are happy. Our monthly bill is usually $150. Now it's $90.

We have 33 panels and we went with the Power Purchase Agreement so we don't own the panels. The vendor was through a subcontractor, not Sunrun themselves, though. So there was a little confusion there but once I understood exactly what I was buying, it was a great deal. We own the power over the next 25 years. We prepaid at a certain rate and if demand exceeds what's produced by the panels, we just pay the power company. But regardless of that, the panels have a guarantee to provide a certain amount of power over their life cycle. Sunrun is responsible for maintaining, fixing and monitoring the panels over the next 25 years. And at the end of that term, if we want to renew a maintenance contract with them, we can do that at that time or we can have them remove the system or we can pay fair market value for the panels and keep the system as it is.
The installation itself went smoothly but the people who did it found out later that they didn't properly seal all the fittings. So I had a few leaks. Two were inside the house so they went into the attic and there was a little bit of water damage to the roof in my living room. Sunrun took care of that on the next day of reporting. The other two were in the garage, so there was no any significant damage there but it took Sunrun a couple of days to get out. I’m very satisfied with going solar. Before, my electricity bill was $600 a month. And this was in winter. But now, if I pay anything, it’s 20 bucks. And I'm running the AC all the time. We're an all-electric house so going solar has made a huge impact. I'm happy with Sunrun's product.

I'm glad I got Sunrun. It’s a great product. And it was a smooth transition into the service. They were great. They told me each step along the way. They checked out the roof. They told me that Sunrun guarantees your roof, and if I have a roof problem, that I can call Sunrun. They said my roof was in good shape.

Be careful getting solar. I recently purchased a home, the previous owner had a contract with Sunrun, I took over the lease and still has Sunrun warranty on roof leaks. The roof has leaks under every panels. It is costing over 10K for the Company to remove and reinstall the solar panels ONLY so I can replace the roof all because of leaks under the solar panels. The actual roof and damages could exceed 20K easily. I am having so many delays, and trouble with the company to send out someone. I spoke with 10 persons so far and no fix. It can cost you more than the panels if you have a roof leak caused by the solar panels. Water damages goes from the roof to the floor.

The reps with Sunrun were very informative. They explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I didn't like that the installation crew was a young crew. The work they did was great, but I didn't like the horseplay when they got up on the roof. In the beginning, they had to come back a couple of times to add grounding rods that the city wanted. They did that timely. They called me up when they were coming out and gave me a time frame within an hour or two which I appreciated because there are a lot of companies that say, "We'll be there between 9:00 and 5:00." We love our solar energy system. I pay almost nothing. We paid off half of the solar panels. My goal is to pay it off within five years, and I'll get it paid off within three years. After that, it's free.

I looked into a couple of solar companies and they all eventually went to Sunrun, so I just went with them. The help they provided was good. I started talking to them in September of 2021 and they put in the system in April of 2022. That was okay. In those particular months, there wasn't a big hurry for solar. The installation team was great. But they had issues that were not their fault and they took about six to seven hours to do the work. I pay a set amount to Sunrun. I'm being charged 14 cents a kilowatt.

I live on the island of Molokai in Hawaii, and they were doing a push to get solar. Sunrun came in and canvassed, and we all wanted to get on board. I had to call the guy and say, “Hey, I want it. Put me on the list.” You had to be on a waiting list for them to come out and interview you and talk to you and see what your needs were. I finally got my solar. The Sunrun guys that came from Maui were awesome. They were so pleasant. Everything about the experience was wonderful. My electric bill is non-existent compared to what it was. I was looking at $170 electric bills every month before, and now at Christmas time, it goes up to 100 because I have a lot of lights that I shouldn’t have. Other than that, it ranges from $25 to $35 a month. When I signed up, they said it would never go over $20 a month. That didn't last very long, but it's a sign of the times. It's not their fault.
Sunrun's customer support has been excellent. One time, I had a battery problem. They called me and said, “Hey, did you know your solar is not working? We're gonna send somebody over." They're on Maui. I'm on Molokai, so they had to come from another island and bring the battery. Another reason why I wanted the lease is because I don't have to worry about anything like that. They tell me because I'm monitored on their computer system.
I tried to call Sunrun regarding a battery backup, but they said, “Well, you can't because you selected what you selected, and there are no options for changes.” So, that is disappointing. Also, the electric company over here wants to come change my meter from a net energy meter. It's going to change my system, and I don't want my system changed. I want people to be aware of that, too. If they get solar now, they may have to go into a new system and not the old system where it was a net energy metering.

Sunrun is pretty good about getting back to me. But a lot of times, it's not that good of an explanation I get. I've been confused about a few things and I never seemed to get a straight answer. They don't explain it very well, so that gets me more confused. Last year I was having my whole house power washed. I wanted to have the roof power washed, so I thought that it would be a good time to have the panels washed. But I know that there are certain restrictions on how they have to be done.
I called Sunrun about it. If I want to have my panels cleaned, I have to have them done by someone who works through them. I told Sunrun that I had a person who was gonna do everything else on my house and he said he could do the panels, and I wanted to check with them. They said, “No. Don't have him do that. We'll have someone come out and assess everything and let you know how much it would cost to have them done.” So I told the fellow that I was working with to do everything else but not the panels. This was at the beginning of last summer in May and it took the whole summer to get them to come out and figure out and tell me anything.
I ended up telling Sunrun that I would just have part of it done. I told them to clean the panels that were under the trees. They said that they would check on that. Then they called and said they had a guy that would come up and do it. I'm in Massachusetts and he was in Connecticut. Someone called me that the fellow was gonna come up that day to do the work. I asked how much it was gonna be and it was a lot more expensive than I was thinking it was gonna be.
The guy told me that it was more expensive because he was gonna do all the panels. But I told him that I didn't need all of them done. He said, “If I wanna come all the way out there and have all my equipment and go up to do it, I'm gonna do all of them.” So I canceled that. After that, I didn't have anyone to clean them. Now it's getting to the end of the summer and going into fall. So I called Sunrun again and I told them what happened. They said that they'll check into it and get back to me. Then they called me back and said that if it was too expensive and I just wanna have a few done, I can hire my own person to do it. So I waited all summer to have them tell me to have my own person do it who I had here already three months ago and now to have him come back, it would cost me more than it would have originally. I never got it done but it's not a big deal.

The customer service experience with Sunrun varies. Some people are more knowledgeable and talkative than others. Some people don't respond ideally well when your situation is not to their advantage. But in general, they're okay. I'm very satisfied with going solar. I saved a lot of money and I'm very happy with the service. My electricity isn't lost and I'm very comfortable. Eversource supplies when I don't supply enough.
