Switching to Sunrun solar has been good. I was one of the first ones in my area that got solar. People ended up calling, asking about it. I ended up telling them how I use it and how much savings they could make.
My area of study encompasses the use of solar energy, so it’s something I’m always interested in. Solar energy is one of the latest areas that architecture has got into in terms of building green, using the environment to do more. I would have always been one of those people who would have gone after solar.
After they did mine, they did a number of other people in this area based on my recommendations. I would still recommend what they’re doing and how they’re doing it.

Jason from Sunrun was really good at explaining everything. He was right here during the installation, answered my questions, and helped me out with stuff. He followed the progress from fixing my roof one day to installing the panels the next.
They put panels on the front and the back of my roof. I’m not crazy about the look, but it works. So far, it’s lowered my bill by a couple bucks a month.

The install went well but the cost savings on the electric bill has been a bit challenging. The effectiveness of the system is highly weather-dependent, which has been tricky lately. Although the system works as intended when conditions are right, I felt like the impact could be better if the weather cooperates more.
In general, my experience with Sunrun has been positive. I'd rate them highly because their customer service has been consistently good over time. Even the pricing seems fair for the level of service received.
Overall, I am pleased with my decision and consider my experience with Sunrun to be satisfactory.

When setting up the service with Sunrun, I was impressed with the polite and efficient customer service. They made the process comfortable and stress-free. The installation was excellent as well. Sunrun took care of everything, from permits to labor, which meant I didn’t have to worry about a single thing. Once the solar panels were installed, I started noticing differences; my electric bills were balanced out significantly despite recent electricity rate hikes. This essentially means I only need to settle the payment directly with Sunrun.

A while ago, someone was coming around door to door and I heard about Sunrun. Initially, I found the installation process to take a bit longer than I anticipated, but in the end, everything was completed smoothly.
One major advantage I've experienced with the Sunrun solar panels is a significant reduction in my electricity bills. I hear others talking about rising electric rates, yet I don't receive a bill which indicates substantial savings for me.
Overall, my interaction with Sunrun's customer service has been good, which adds to my satisfaction with choosing them for solar panels.

A friend referred me to Sunrun and the customer service I received was excellent. The installation team was absolutely flawless as well—they did everything perfectly without a hitch.
Now, about the difference I've noticed, my solar panels have notably reduced my energy expenses, which is obvious in my utility bills. The overall experience with Sunrun's solar services has been exceptional, and I genuinely feel I've got what I needed. Another 12 panels were installed on our roof, making our total 27 panels. We also ended up redoing the electrical box. We talked about having a battery backup, but it’s something I don’t need at the moment.
Since then, I don’t recall having a bill with PG&E anymore. It’s just the fees that I pay Sunrun.
Sunrun is a great company and I definitely recommend them. I’ve never had a problem with customer service and have only reached out the times I’ve had a couple of questions. They’re not out here to rip you off or try to make business. They’re doing the right thing.

We heard about Sunrun through our house builder. It was a requirement to have to have solar put into our house, and they were the contractor. I called them to get the system up and running. The solar panels are keeping the power cost at a reasonable cost.

The value was incredible, particularly in lieu of CA fires and the pending projected PGE rate increases. From the contract development to its implementation, Sunrun responded promptly and troubleshot any difficulties during the process. The terms of the contract were extremely favorable to us and the incentives given for energy cost savings put our decision to use Sunrun over the top. We have given them the names and emails of our grown children so that they too may benefit from this energy lease program. It takes out much of the risk of overwhelming electricity costs due to the increasing CA wildfires. We are very happy with the program.

The installation was fine, but trying to get panels removed for roofing or any technical work on them is nearly impossible. Over a three-year period, the minimum time it has taken to get a service appointment is four weeks. Currently rescheduling an appointment for the third time because they have been unable to send the number of techs needed for the job, which means we are now going over two months because they can't book anything promptly, and even if they mess up, you get to wait.
However, if you get assigned to a case worker, your calls, texts, and e-mails will be ignored, which also annoys their service team, who can only tell you they tried to contact the case worker but got no one to pick up. Regarding your contract, they will gladly cancel it without notice if it looks like your system will underperform what they said it would do. On a positive note, when the tech does come out, they are polite, and you have to feel sorry for them when they apologize for not being able to do what is needed because the appointment was not set up for enough workers. Sunrun does sales and install fine, but they don't appear to need you after you sign the contract.

From the outset, I felt considerable pressure to make a purchase after Sunrun visited my home multiple times. While I initially indicated that I was exploring options for a solar system and a reputable company, I began to sense a sense of urgency that made me uncomfortable. After taking a pause of approximately two weeks, Sunrun returned, and we reached an agreement. During our discussions, we highlighted the benefits of solar energy, particularly the potential savings and reimbursements available through Southern California Edison. Based on our calculations, our current annual expenditure of $1,200–$1,400 could be significantly reduced with a new system, which prompted us to proceed with the installation.
We have now been customers of Vivint/Sunrun for approximately four to five years, during which we have encountered multiple issues. Initially, we received a partial system that lacked a backup battery. Following several blackouts and the subsequent loss of perishable food, we contacted the company, only to be informed that our system was incomplete. They subsequently added more panels to the front of our home, despite our explicit request not to do so. Additionally, we now receive two separate bills for two systems, which is inconvenient—why can't these be consolidated into a single statement?
Furthermore, while our maximum annual energy costs previously totaled around $1,500, we are now paying approximately $2,600 per year—almost double our original expense. Most concerning, however, is the issue of residuals. Over the past four years, our end-of-year billing has consistently shown a surplus of at least $1,200, which we have never received. In 2025, we received an end-of-year bill of $1,500 from SCE, despite having made a formal request in 2024 to receive our residual payments directly. It appears we were in credit during years when we did not request these payments, yet now we are being billed by the company for services we do not use.
In summary, our energy expenses have increased substantially since switching to solar, from an average of $1,400 annually with SCE alone to a combined total of approximately $4,088 per year. This situation raises serious questions about the benefits of this investment. As a consumer, I am deeply dissatisfied with the increased costs and the lack of transparency. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend solar energy to others under these circumstances. I am seeking assistance to resolve these issues.

I purchased my system in 2019. In July 2022 my inverter got fried by water entering the inverter housing. It took nine months to replace the unit because they said they didn't have the part. Replaced inverter in April 2023 and it got fried again in Aug of 2024. Still waiting for part AGAIN. Their supply chain is an embarrassment.

A Sunrun rep was going around our neighborhood and their price made me want to sign up. Enrolling was easy. The salesperson looked at our year of SDG&E and how much energy we used and then determined how many panels would produce that amount of energy. My husband and I talked about it and said that we felt we should get more if we were going to be able to use the air conditioner so that's what we did. We signed up two years ago and I didn't have a true-up last year. I think that was because my husband got confused. When we got rid of our spa, he thought he turned off the trip for the spa but it was for the solar. It was right when we were having a heat wave and I was using the air conditioner. I got a message from Sunrun that our panels weren't working. The guy came out and he said the trip got turned off. But I had a true-up a lot this year.

I have been a 39 panel leaser since 2018.. I live in Sun City AZ and the last two summer have been 30 to 40 straight 110 plus heat days.. We have a Trane HVAC that is 5 years old, and we have it examined /maintained during the spring time. We change our filters every 3 months... The APS bill inspite of Sunrun generating between 65 and 70 kwh are around $130.00 to $150.00 a month and that is including the minus $150.00 accumulated during March to May months..This is how has been for us in SunCity, Az.

I factually know anyone who has Sunrun is dealing with this when opposed to autopsy. Sunrun REFUSES to save payment information regardless of every other company on the plant doing it. Oh but wait, if you sign up for auto pay, we got you, no problem. Otherwise, get bent! You may not see the images submitted, but the second you log in you're asked, I mean pushed into autopay. Literally every time. Please don't get Sunrun!!

We purchased our home in 2013, which came with leased solar panels that were fully paid for by the previous owners. Unfortunately, the number of panels installed has never been sufficient for our energy usage, resulting in consistently high electricity bills compared to our previous home. I initially raised concerns about the high electric bills, but it took several months for a technician to be dispatched. A few years ago, during a required communication system upgrade, a Sunrun representative identified a component that needed repair or replacement. While a microinverter was replaced, our electric bill increased significantly the following month.
I reported the issue again, and another technician confirmed that an additional microinverter was needed. I was informed that it had been ordered in May 2024. Since then, I've received periodic emails indicating the part has still not arrived. Nearly a year later, the issue remains unresolved, and I continue to pay close to $400 per month in electricity costs.

I had a terrible experience with Sunrun. What started as a simple solar project turned into a nightmare. There were major delays, miscommunications, and no accountability. Their subcontractors made mistakes during the roofing process, which disrupted my family's life, especially with two small children at home. I was promised follow-ups and support, but instead, I was ignored, manipulated into signing revised contracts, and then blamed for their internal issues. Even after repeated attempts to work things out, Sunrun refused to take responsibility for the stress and financial burden they caused. If you’re considering going solar, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Sunrun may talk a good game, but when things go wrong, you’re on your own.

It took Sunrun four months to install my panels. And right now, I'm paying $349 for the panels, but I'm also paying $200 for my electrical bills. If I'm paying panels, why should I pay electrical bills? I thought that panels are for saving energy and to save bill but I'm not saving anything. I'm losing money.
I called them and they told me that they were going to give me a call back. They're going to see my bill. I sent them a copy of my bill but they haven’t talked to me for the past two months. They told me they could save me thousands of money but then they’re telling me to get a battery for $10,000. I still owe three years on my panels, and yet they want me to pay additional $10,000 just to install a battery for the peak hours.
They said my panels are very good and they get energy, but why can’t I use my energy for the peak hours? If my panels are fully loaded, why should I waste energy? I wanted to know why I'm paying too much money for my bill. This situation could be between them and the electrical company. The electrical company would say I have solar panels that gives all the energy I want and that I shouldn’t be charged in the peak hours.
Sunrun wants to screw me over because they told me I need a battery to keep the energy. I have 17 panels which is enough to last me a year. They want me to save energy by using the battery so they could resell it to the energy company. I'd rather keep my regular electrical bill and deal with it.

The rep was amazing. She walked through everything. That definitely took a little longer than both of us expected. But overall, I would say pretty smooth. It was wonderful with the GRID Alternative program. We delayed the installation for a little bit because they required us to wash the tile or clay tile. So overall, it was very, very quick, and very professional. Then we just held off on turning it on till we got the approval. I absolutely love the kickback in terms of the energy metering. It is also great to have the Wi-Fi now enabled so you can track it live in a much faster than the modem. Again, the build quality is pretty solid. I only had it for two years. But so far, no issues that I can tell, which is amazing.s recorded.

My initial contact with Sunrun started when my husband searched for solar services online, leading to a call from Dan. He quickly convinced us with a visit to our home and he came out and told us what we could do. We decided to move forward with Sunrun’s services and the installation process was incredibly smooth and well-managed. The team arrived on time and completed the job in just a morning, leaving our home spotless—it was as though they’d never been there. Such efficiency and professionalism were highly appreciated.
For a while, we struggled to get used to understanding the system's emissions, but it's worth mentioning that there was an unexpected rise in our electric bills last winter. This puzzled us since we barely changed our routine. The only variable contributing to our previously high bills was a new pool heater, which we understood, but we didn't understand the other four months. Then, oddly enough, our last bill decreased. Other than that, we've had no issues where Sunrun is concerned. I have told a neighbor about Sunrun and they have it.

I got solar panels mainly to take my carbon footprint off the grid. I didn’t buy them. Sunrun owns them, and I lease them for 20 years. I got them totally free. I don’t have to maintain them and take care of them. There’s a difference I noticed since I put them, but it’s not really radical since I live alone and have no problem regulating my air conditioning and heat. Sunrun puts something on my phone every month, so I know it’s working. I know how many kilowatt hours it produced and how many I used. I’m so satisfied with Sunrun.

Sunrun approached me with an offer stating that everything would be free. However, after the first month, I received a bill, which was somewhat unexpected because it was buried in the fine print. Initially, they had quoted me a starting price of $65, but over time, it increased, but over time, it increased to around $70.
The signup process with Sunrun felt convoluted due to a lot of fine print to wade through. This made it difficult to understand completely what I was agreeing to. During installation, they determined the number of solar panels needed by estimating from my bill, although I still have no exact idea how many panels were installed.
To track the energy I am producing with the panels, I receive an email with updates. As long as my standard bill remains consistent, I'm content.
In terms of recommending Sunrun, it's a mixed opinion for me. If you don't consume much electricity, their service might work for you, but for me, the changes in billing have been a bit frustrating as they slowly increase their charges.

I decided to switch to Sunrun and based on my experience, it truly stands out as one of the best purchases I've made—it practically pays for itself. For the entire journey, from speaking with the sales person to the installation, everyone I interacted with was incredibly professional. Initially, when I inquired if my home would continue operating on solar power during a power outage during the day, I was mistakenly told it would. However, it doesn't actually work that way—it cuts off to prevent feedback into the main grid. Despite this minor misunderstanding, I'm extremely satisfied with my 11 kilowatt system. Though they suggested a 7 kilowatt setup, I preferred being well-prepared by adding the extra capacity. Reviewing my previous highest PG&E bill, we added 10% to that, landing on the 11 kilowatt choice.
I was formerly spending $400-$500 monthly on PG&E, but now my solar payments are capped at just $395. After accounting solely for gas presently, my system not only powers my home efficiently but also enables me to sell electricity back. My home, even at 33 years old, operates more efficiently than some new homes. Once the system is paid off in four years, it's essentially money saved each month.
While additional technologies like Tesla batteries were proposed to me, notably for $30,000 to maintain power through outages, it didn't seem worth it given it only provides a day's worth of power. Instead, I opted for a backup generator from Costco for $1,000 which stands ready should there be a power failure.
Being retired from the Air Force has instilled in me the importance of forward-thinking and planning. Overall, I couldn't recommend Sunrun enough. Their service meets my standard of judging whether I'd make the same choice again or on another property—and the answer is a resounding yes.

The Sunrun representative did some aerial views and took photographs, showing us where the sun hits the house most during the day. They explained how everything works at that time.
We’ve been happy with it, and the cost is great. We pay a lot less than our neighbors, and it’s much cheaper than Edison. Overall, we’ve had a great experience with Sunrun.
I’m able to track our monthly bill through the app. It’s very easy to use, and they upgrade it every so often. Sunrun also sends detailed information about how to read your statement and how well you’ve done over the month, six months, or a year. It’s like getting report cards.

I was convinced to try Sunrun after coming across their offer at Home Depot. The service itself has been satisfactory, and I like the system. However, my experience with some of Sunrun's claims regarding bonuses leaves a bit to be desired.
When I made the purchase at Home Depot, I was informed that I would receive a $700 card as part of the program. Unfortunately, I never received it, and when I contacted them, I was told that the program had ended. Additionally, I had recommended the service to my sister, hoping to receive a referral bonus of about $200 or $500, but that never materialized either. This was disappointing, given that my sister did actually get solar through Sunrun.
Despite these hiccups, I'd still recommend Sunrun. They were professional during the installation process, and the service itself is solid. But the gap between the promises of bonuses and their delivery did add frustration. Even though I didn't receive what was promised to me, I don't hold hard feelings, and I believe the service is worth checking out for others interested in solar options.

I tried Sunrun because of the potential benefits of their solar systems, but my initial experience was marred by an over-promising salesperson. He assured us we’d receive a new meter with our installation, which never happened. I also learned that similar promises were made to friends without follow-through. While this was disappointing, the actual installation process went smoothly once it started, and the system itself has been satisfactory. Despite the rough start, I would recommend reaching out to Sunrun directly rather than through specific sales contacts.

I went in full with Sunrun and my electric bill was reduced. However, the bill with Pepco for the past month has been very high. Someone from Sunrun called me and advised that they were going to send someone around here. Their customer service has been very good. I encouraged one of my sisters to get Sunrun and she did.

I was a high school science teacher and I had read quite a bit on solar. And I happened to be in Home Depot one day and the blue shirted person came up to me and asked if I was interested in finding out about solar. I said yes so they came out to the house so it got the ball rolling.
The installers have a satellite view of the house so they were able to estimate based upon the trees that we had and other factors. In Illinois, you can’t exceed 90% efficiency but they were able to tell us how to maximize.
So we did it and it looked really good in terms of the distribution. We have the panels both on the second floor of our home and we also have them on over our garage. It is buzzing. If it wasn’t for a couple of snowy days in February, we would have been completely solar for the majority of the winter as well. The amount of savings was great and when they related the impact to how many barrels of oil and how many power plants, it really hit home.
I got a lot of questions about it but they were not ready to commit. It was just a couple of years after we’d had our roof reshingled and repaired when we did the installation. They came and took pictures of our attic and all over. They made sure that would be something that could sustain a 20-year commitment. In our neighborhood, we have had a history of some power outages due to some of the infrastructure and it would be nice if we would be able to get the battery backup.

I've always been interested in solar energy services. Long ago, Sunrun was the only one that was doing panels at the time. I contacted them in 2019. I chose their leasing plan, and I'm incredibly pleased with my decision because it has completely offset my electric bills. In fact, I haven't had to pay for electricity in years, thanks to the surplus energy I generate, allowing me to contribute to the grid.
Interacting with Sunrun hasn't required much from me since I haven't encountered any problems. They send me monthly online updates, allowing me to monitor how much electricity I'm generating. Recently, I even got a hybrid hot water heater because I generate enough electricity to power it without needing to run hot water through my oil furnace. It's been a year with the new setup, and I've still avoided any electricity charges.
I'm extremely satisfied with my choice and have often found myself recommending Sunrun to others, especially when they mention high electric bills. I share my experience of not receiving a bill and how the electricity I generate contributes to the grid. I've also found that installing as many panels as your roof can support is beneficial overall. I appreciate the thoughtfulness Sunrun put into evaluating my home's energy needs, even if my circumstances have changed since then.

I was drawn to Sunrun initially because I saw a booth at Costco and noticed that California, along with a partnership between PG&E and Sunrun, was offering incentives and free installations. Signing up with Sunrun was straightforward. They sent someone to my home to explain everything and got me set up right at my kitchen table. They calculated the number of panels by reviewing my energy bills over the last three months and installed an array that matched 110% of my average usage. This decision led to the installation of 16 panels initially.
Sunrun also has an app to track energy production, which is handy but has seen mixed updates. Initially, the app was user-friendly, allowing me to track daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly production efficiently. Unfortunately, post an update, the new charts intended to improve our usage and production insights became less intuitive. When my household later expanded with the addition of two Teslas, we needed more power. Sunrun accommodated us by installing another 16 panels after gauging our new electricity usage, making a total of 32 panels. With these panels, each year after balancing out the consumption with solar production, we typically owe about $50 to $80.
Reflecting on my experience, I'd recommend Sunrun. Their installation was fast and professional, living up to the contractual agreements, and they've always provided good customer service. So far, having solar panels has been a reliable choice financially, straightening out the electricity budget to $180 monthly regardless of seasonal changes. If doing it again, integrating a backup battery would improve it even more, capturing excess solar power for nighttime use.

I love it. I’ve had Sunrun for almost three years. The sales rep was excellent and installation was simple and easy. I'm getting batteries installed for emergencies, like at nighttime when I’m sleeping. I wear a CPAP for my sleep apnea, and we lost power in the middle of the night three times in January. I wish we could get some money back out of it, but it's leased right now. I bought 18 panels, then Edison charged me almost every year about 1,200, so I added nine panels and it’s made a big difference.

Living in Hawaii, my electricity bills were skyrocketing. Typically, my electric bill would range between $200 to $300, despite not utilizing energy-intensive appliances like a dryer or air conditioning. After much deliberation, I opted for Sunrun for my home solar energy needs. They provided the option of leasing the solar panels, which seemed appealing at the time. I chose a leasing plan rather than purchasing the system outright, and their representative was helpful in explaining the terms, including the potential for purchasing the equipment after a couple of years. Initially, our household included about six people and the number of panels they recommended suited our usage.
Sunrun has done an excellent job with the installation and service. Although I'm subscribed to Maui Electric, excess electricity from the solar panels feeds into the grid, reducing our costs significantly. Sunrun promised savings, and over time, my monthly bill has decreased to a mere $35. Currently, I'm considering adding a backup battery to ensure electricity during outages, as our solar system, predominantly, functions during daylight, transferring surplus energy to Maui Electric, and relies on their services during nighttime. As a satisfied customer, I give Sunrun the highest recommendation, and I haven't regretted choosing them.

Sunrun has been handling my solar needs for the last three to four years. When it comes to customer service, they are good, but the overlapping costs are quite burdensome. I pay for PSEG then I pay for Sunrun at the same time. That was not what I was told.

Do not get Sunrun bottom line!!! We needed a new roof due to hail damage and they said they would not be able to get our panels off for 4 months but that we could use a different company to remove them. In order to stay under warranty when the panels are reinstalled they need to be "checked by a field service agent" to make sure they are reinstalled properly. Fast forward to the reinstall we had a field service technician come out and he was at our house for approximately 8 minutes and didn't even get on our house. He simply checked the panel to see if there were any issues- which could have been done by me. Now I have a $600 bill for this! This is so wrong to charge that kind of money for a check where no one even got on the roof to see of panels were reinstalled appropriately. I have been trying to fight the bill and they have been avoiding me. Do no use Sunrun, you will be sure to regret it.

Sunrun acquired the company that installed our original solar panels in 2012. I've been satisfied ever since. The enrollment process originally started with the previous company; they were understanding and accommodating, especially when I had eye surgery. They didn't rush me, visiting a few times before installation to ensure I was comfortable with the decision.
The installation was impressively efficient, completed in just half a day. I've enjoyed having my roof supply my electric power, as electricity costs are rising everywhere. I track monthly expenses between public service and Sunrun, which gives me insight into the financial benefits of going solar.

We bought our house five years ago and didn’t know it already had solar on it by Sunrun. Finding out we had solar was a blessing because it made me realize that our electrical bill was only $23. The biggest complaint I had is that Sunrun is responsible for the upkeep, and they’ve had to come out and change a couple of boxes since we’ve had it. But no big deal because everything breaks.
Last month, we generated almost 900 kilowatt hours with our panels, though we only use a fraction because we’re energy conscious. We get a printout from Sunrun telling us the days and hours and everything of what we make energy-wise with our solar.
I’m totally satisfied with the solar and should have done it years ago. They've been really good people, treated us right, and been very generous and nice. They call us every now and then again, checking out if there's any problem, anything going on that they need to know about. We’ve had them for five years now, and I sure appreciate them.

Sunrun has a track record nationally, and my brother has it up in New Jersey, and I have another person who has it and is happy with it. That's the primary reason I decided to go with Sunrun. The electric bill is like $20 a month now, but you're still paying on the lease. The big savings are in the summertime 'cause I have a pool and I have air conditioning. I live in Florida. So that's where the big savings come in. Service has been good. I've called them out a few times on a couple of things, and they came right out.

We have had Sunrun solar for about 10 years and had no issues until we needed our roof replaced. Took forever (6-8 weeks probably) to get them to come remove the panels. That was the easy part. The roof was replaced the first of September and it is now April with no sign of them coming to put the panels back up. They take random amounts of money for our "bill" each month. We have a lease situation, where we pay them for the solar power we generate. The panels are not generating any solar power stacked on my driveway. Can we mention how inconvenient that is? I have had at least 4 case managers only one of which ever responded. He very kindly contacted me every couple of weeks to say that nothing was happening. Not one of the others has returned calls or emails. At some point they have to be in breach of contract and can just come get their panels! Terrible customer service!!

There really was no problem except with the neighbors. The first time Sunrun installed the panels on my home, the reflection of the sun was blinding into my neighbors. Fortunately after some back and forth, Sunrun was able to make it right and actually move the panels. This could have been prevented if Sunrun had talked to the neighbors. Other than that, the techs have been nice, the reps have been communicative, and the install has been flawless. No damage on my roof yet.

One of the issues I have is that by the time I was discussing with the marketer, he was telling me what they were going to give me is going to service me, that it was just for the military loan that I would be paying, and I won’t get anything more than that. I noticed after a few months, I begin to get a bill from ComEdison that was higher than what we agree on. And I tried to complain, but I didn’t see solutions to it. So, I was meant to continue, staying on the two side like that.
After some time again, someone called me from Sunrun, that they wanted to know if I was facing some things. So, I told them and they told me, “Okay.” They were going to come around to boost it up. However, since then, I’ve not heard anything from anyone. So, I have no choice and I’ll be paying for the two sides. But that was not the initial agreement.
So, when I complained to connect this thing, what they told me was what my solar was not giving me enough for what I wanted to use. So, they needed to close the gap, that was why I was getting that bill. And when we were having that, they told me what the solar was going to supply me was going to complete what I needed. They also told me that it was working 100% good, so it did not have any issues. But there was nothing they can do about it until so and so time, and I’m tired of calling. So, I just let it be.
The unfortunate thing is I’ve recommended them to a lot of friends, and they have it already. I recommended them when everything was as we planned, because I use it for six months before something changed. I loved the service then, and everything was good. Even now, I can still recommend it to friends, but I would let them know that based on the agreement things can change along the line, because that was my experience.

Sunrun came to our door and did a very good presentation. It was 10-15 minutes long and the rep was very informative. He sat down with us, we had an agreement, then they came and did the install, which took at least a month. I've also gone to their website and it’s really good. We're snowbirds. In the summertime, we're not here, but we still have to leave the AC on because, otherwise, it gets too hot for the house and furniture. The AC is on high that we used to get bills of anywhere from $250 to $350 a month. We received 10 panels from Sunrun and we noticed an incredible difference. Now, our electric bills are about $90 or $130. We had one bill that was $30 compared to $200. In the first year, we were not sure if we did the right thing, then all of a sudden, it got better. We're extremely satisfied and really happy that we did it. Overall, Sunrun treated us well. It was excellent.

I was just looking up online comparing solar services, and I decided to go with Sunrun. There was a little bit of delay getting everything set up, but once it was in the house, everything went pretty quick and smooth.
My experience with Sunrun has been very positive and great. I like them a lot. Later this year, I’m looking to get some more put in. I only took about half the panels, and I’ll look into it to max out what I can do. With rates going up again, I’d like to get the other half up. That would be better.
I already have recommended Sunrun to people. They are awesome. The customer service was good. There is no difference with the quality of the product, but I’m very happy with what I got. I couldn’t tell if there’s better or worse out there. The price is good. I’m very satisfied.

I'm saving a ton of money with Sunrun. The experience was perfect, the installation and setup were easy, and I'm very satisfied with the product and with the results. Like everybody else, my electric bill was astronomically high, and I needed to get it down. It was very easy to get Sunrun and installation went well. The guys did their thing, and it looked fine when they were done. I just had to wait a little while until the electric company got everything done. But the inspection guy was incredible, and everybody was very nice. I've recommended Sunrun to quite a few people.

It was a very smooth experience from day one. Sunrun explained everything that was gonna happen, how they would evaluate the situation when it comes to the electricity over 12 months, and how the drone would go over the roof to check the alignment of the solar panel. The previous company didn't put enough panels on, we needed about five more, and Sunrun came by the house and knocked on the door. They were friendly and explained everything. The service has been very good. We had flickering lights, SDGE came out, the guy touched a screwdriver to a hot line to the solar panels and blew out my television studio equipment, about $5,000 worth of damage that they said wasn’t their fault. Sunrun came out and fixed that and it seems to be working pretty well. The true-up cost dropped by about $1,000 last year, so that was good. There's a website I look at occasionally, and I also look at the SDGE bill I get each month, and until the rainy season here, it’s been in the $25 to $30 range.

I’ve always been interested in solar, and I met Sunrun in a Home Depot. The installation was great, they did what I wanted and even gave me a few ideas. It was a nice, seamless installation. As a matter of fact, when someone came to our house, they wouldn’t even know that I have solar. Everything was hidden very well and I liked how they did that.
Since the installation, I haven’t paid an electric bill in three years. I’m generating more power than I use, so each month my bill shows no payment. Especially in the summer, I produce a lot of energy. So far this year, they owe me about $1,600–$1,700, and by summer it could be close to $2,500–$3,000, and I have 42 panels. Looking back, I was paying $350 a month for power. Now, for the panel lease, it’s much less, so the cost savings are tremendous.
I had a great experience with Sunrun. The guy who came to my home was very knowledgeable, understood his product well, and answered all my questions. The installation team did an awesome job too.

The process was long, but I don't think it was Sunrun's fault. At first, I thought it might be, but then I realized they were waiting for PG&E. Installation was fine. They were outside for several days on and off. We were able to let them pull their truck inside the fence to make it convenient for them. We never pay an electric bill and our credit for electricity often pays our gas. We’re on a lease program, which a lot of people don't wanna do. But for us, it's been great. Any time there's an issue, we call them and they come out and fix it. Sometimes, we don't even know there's an issue, but they call or text us and come out and fix it. They've been pretty attentive to us. I'm pleased with Sunrun.

My son and daughter were here and they spoke to a gentleman. I came in and finalized the service with Sunrun. I've had the service for a while and I love it. The reduction in my bills was immediate. Everyone there has been excellent, too. If I had any questions, they've been answered. I also had a gentleman come out and check to make sure everything is okay.

I shopped around at a bunch of different companies and did my research to see which company I thought was going to stick around Southern Arizona, because there were a lot of companies that came in and were a flash in the pan, and were here one day and gone tomorrow. Sunrun is a national company, and they're based in Colorado. And they're also in California. They were going to be the most stable choice I had at that point.
I contacted them and a rep came out and explained what they could do and how many panels I could have. I have 17 panels and I don't have enough room for any more. And I know that the utility and Sunrun went round and round for a while. It took a while to actually put them up there and do what the utility would require them to do, which TEP asked for a straight line. In order to get a straight line where they were, they would have to dig up part of my patio.
It took between six and eight months to be able to go online with the panels they put up. There’s a difference in having it because my last electric bill was $1.36. They spent more time configuring that with the utility than they did putting it up by leaps and bounds. It only took them a couple of days. And they had to run the panel.
The house I own is quite old and had a very old electrical panel. So old, it didn't even have a master breaker. It was built in 1969. They have to bring everything up to code. And so, I got a brand-new electrical panel out of the deal, plus their panel right next to it that measures the amount of electricity, and put it back into the system.
The amount of credit that I get from the utility and the amount of kilowatt hours that Sunrun says I produce are pretty significant. I didn't buy the system. I lease it. Because if you buy the system, your breakeven point is a long way away. And so, I leased the system with the option to buy after five years.
They waived my monthly fee from August until May 2025. They cooperated with me. They understood what my problem was. I don't use air conditioner this time of year, but my bill was $1.36. And I've had credit balances from TEP before as long as you don't kick in your 220 very often. They responded in an appropriate way. As long as you do what the utility tells you to do, and then they reconfigure. It's never been down. It's totally seamless as far as I'm concerned.

Sunrun was presented to us when we first bought the house about three years ago. We had issues at first, but the connection and the roof position had gotten resolved. It's fine now and doing what it's supposed to do. I already had two people ask me about it and I gave them a thumbs up. Good company to work with.

The sales rep was very good. He came into my house, we had a few discussions, and I agreed with everything he said. I'm pro-environmental and when I heard that solar would help me save some money, and with the cost of electricity going up, I thought it’d be great to switch to Sunrun. The installer was wonderful. He was knowledgeable and respectful. I haven’t had any problem since I switched to solar. For this past month, it was still wintertime, I used solar to do everything in my house, and I paid less than $160 for it. So, there was some savings. My only concern about having that solar panel on top of my roof, I need to know how Sunrun will assist me if I wanna sell the house and how Sunrun will take care of any leaking from the equipment. But my system is working good and I'm actually thinking about upgrading, but I don't know if it's possible.

It was excellent. We have no complaints. We had another house that we tried to get solar with Sunrun, but it didn't qualify for solar power because of the way it was positioned and where the house was. With the new house that we bought, we went back to Sunrun because they were awesome to work with. The installers were great. They were efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s been good and we haven't had any problems with the solar system. It does what it’s expected to do. We get two electric bills each year, everything else is covered by the solar, and we just pay for the solar panels. Pricing is always an issue, but it comes out in the wash in the end. You get high electric bills, or you pay for your solar and two electric bills. So, it sort of balances out.

My electricity bill was going crazy all the time, up and down to even higher. It was so much money on electricity, and we’re only two people, so I don’t understand why, it was shocking. I talked to my friend and told me about Sunrun, so I went for it.
Even now, FPL was fine and it’s suddenly increasing the electricity rate. I don't know why. They just decided to increase that. I hope it will stop there, because having the solar system is not going to help me, if FPL now wants to take over and increase the rate.
So far, I love my panels. It’s been a great help, because I am on a very tight budget. With them, it has helped me minimize the amount I pay. Installation was done on a very normal schedule and everything. They didn’t have to come back to fix anything. Everything was great. My electrical bill is fantastic.
The only little problem I have is trying to get in touch with the customer service directly. I did it through Vivint,and they don’t give me the right information or who to call. But other than that, it’s great.

A guy came and offer to me Sunrun and so far, my experience has been good. I was saving money for the electricity from the Commonwealth Edison and my bill went down a little. We generate electricity through the panel and when I generate more, they sell it to the customers and they get good revenue. Then in the night, I use electricity. My son lives in California, and he got solar panels too. They send a bonus to him every six months. But I have not received anything and they should have paid me.

I listened to information from several vendors, and I thought Sunrun was the most complete information and the best value for my dollar. I had 15 solar panels installed and everything went well. I had a couple of issues with roof leaks and I had to take care of it myself. They wouldn’t cover it. But other than that, I am positive about my experience.

DO NOT CHOOSE SUN RUN- WORST DECISION EVER! The company makes you lease equipment that they don't properly monitor, and they make you pay a monthly service fee when they don’t provide professional or basic customer service. We went 5 months with our inverter being down, and no one even notified us until I contacted the company to complain about underproduction.
The online portal made it appear that our system was fine, when in fact it wasn’t. I then had to speak to three different customer service reps to just schedule an appointment for a service tech to come because their 'appointment system was down' for three consecutive days! Each time, a rep guaranteed someone would call me back, and no one did. Then when I followed up for the third time, the only appt available was a month away! I then had to spend a month calling customer service reps, case managers and supervisors to resolve our issue and have someone fix the problem sooner than waiting another month. Reps and case managers said they would return calls and emails, but never did.
Our case manager Amalia ** actually hung up on us when we called her to complain that the service tech never showed up to fix the inverter; when we called her back, we only got a busy signal; she and her supervisor Jennifer ** didn’t respond to either voicemail, text, or email for a week. I ended up having to call other customer service rep and try to get another case manager (this was promised and did not happen). I was repeatedly told that I could receive compensation for the 5 months of underproduction, but only ended up finding out that we didn't qualify for the performance guarantee reimbursement even with 5 months of our inverter being down.
Every customer service rep read from a script and didn't even take the time to read the case notes or understand our concerns/issues as expressed, they just kept repeating the same lines. When Amalia ** finally returned my calls/emails after a week, she didn’t even acknowledge her hanging up on us, and when I addressed it with her, she just said ‘Sorry, my phone system was down’. For a week?
SunRun can’t resolve appointment scheduling or phone issues in this day and age? But they don’t have any issues of course taking payments or with their billing department or system. You end up paying monthly to lease solar products that don't work, aren't monitored, aren't serviced for months, and then have to speak with unprofessional staff that don't even have the professionalism and courtesy to respond to your concerns, calls, or outreaches, whether by phone or email. This lack of service was received by even the case managers and supervisors! Now we’re locked into a contract that we can't get out of unless we buy out the $20,000 of equipment. So basically you end up paying monthly for nothing, and there's nothing you can do about it. DO NOT GO WITH SUNRUN.

I purchased a Sunrun system with a promise that I wouldn't receive any more electric bill. Side note, the sale agent quit with 2 weeks of my system installation. I had concerns as I was receiving fairly consistent electric bill each month. When I brought it to Sunrun's attention, they only stated that everything was working as it should, the electric company was to blame or some trees grew in my yard that weren't there before.
Another salesperson visited my house on a cold call. He advised on changes in technology would increase my production... Needless to say, another over promise and under provide. Even with the upgrade, my average bill is well over $100 per month. Once again, when brought to Sunrun's attention, their response was, "It is still less that what you would have paid without solar."
My advice to anyone considering solar, first, shop around. Second, if Sunrun makes you a promise, get it in writing and notarized. I have come to realize that Sunrun doesn't rely on intercompany communications so what you are told by a sale agent isn't always supported by the company itself. Simply, beware of Sunrun promising you lower bills. It doesn't always work out that way.

Sunrun took advantage of my 89 year-old demented mother one month before she died. She was incapacitated and unable to make sound decisions for herself. Now, my sisters and I are trying to get out of our contract because of this fraudulent activity and elder abuse. We have spent countless hours on the phone, trying to communicate with someone and not getting anyone directly with any status to do anything about the situation. They just keep putting us on hold, telling us that no one is available, and stating that someone will call us, when they never do. They even gave us an incorrect direct line to someone. This company is abhorrent with how they try to exploit the elderly.

I normally don't write things like this, but I am at a loss. I have been a Sunrun customer Since 2021 and every year my system breaks down. I regret choosing Sunrun for my solar energy needs. Every year, I experience equipment failures, and each time, getting them to fix the issue is a nightmare. This year I was told i now need a form for a service technician to visit my household to determine the issue. In the past it took weeks (sometimes months) to get the problem resolved - usually a poorly made inverter is the cause, last year it was how the inverter was wired. All of this leaves me without the solar energy I’m paying for and an additional energy bill.
On top of that, their overall customer service is just terrible. They seem more interested in chatting in the background (very difficult to hear the CS rep with all of the background noise), than actually resolving issues. When I called this Tuesday to report my solar stopped working, I was told by customer service that I would be contacted 24-48 hours by a technician to schedule a visit. When 48 hours passed, I called them again to find out why no one contacted me. I was told by the representative that the case was closed due to a missing form.
The form was supposed to be sent by Customer service and never was. Their AI system closed the case due the missing form. I had to start all over again and now wait another 48 hours to schedule a call with a technician. Because of this error by Sunrun, I asked if this could be expedited, and Customer Service said they cannot help me, and I would have to call technical team tomorrow. I was not even given a case manager assigned - just a general customer reporting pool. If you're considering Sunrun, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The hassle, poor reliability, and lack of support simply aren't worth it.

Sunrun, so far, is the worst and paired with APS, an incredibly poor result. I have Sunrun Solar, I have APS, my power bills including ZERO solar CREDIT, and have since I bought the house with the existing solar. Sunrun won't help, and APS won't either.

I was skeptical for years. My wife finally talked me into going solar. After some getting used to, I have been very happy with our decision. We are without a doubt, saving money and in some cases, sending electricity back to the grid and getting paid for it. I highly recommend getting the backup battery. It is a very important part of going solar. It will allow you to never lose power even when the grid is down for several days. Also, learning your system and understanding peak, off peak, and mid peak, will help you have a substantial reduction in your electric bill. We have two electric cars, and they charge from home. Solar has made a huge difference.
Customer service has always been important to me and Sunrun has exceeded my expectation. They will get on your issue and appoint an agent to it until it is resolved. That is very much appreciated. Reviews are important to me, and I believe providing honest reviews are just as important. I hope my review helps you with your decision.

I got interested in solar because my electric bill just kept going up and up and up. I made a phone call and ended up having a wonderful person. Her name was Jen. She just really talked me through the whole process and helped me with the financing and getting everything set up.
The process ended up taking quite a while for the plain fact that this is the first time Jen had ever dealt with ground mounts instead of a roof installation. There was a little confusion with that. And then there were actually a couple issues with the subcontractors. First, there was some confusion about digging the trench for the electrical thing, who was gonna do it, which company or whatever. Somebody came, did the work, put the ground mounts, the actual stanchions in the ground. Three weeks later, still nothing had happened. So finally, I called Jen and said, "What's going on?" And she talked to some people.
And it turns out, the subcontractor never informed whoever puts the panels on that the stanchions had been installed. It ended up all working out in the end. It ended up extending the time I was expecting to have them done by about a month.
Sunrun has a really good app that I've got on both my phone and my computer that actually think breaks down to the hour how much is generated. I go on that about once a week just to make sure they're doing what they're supposed to be doing. This time of year, living in Vermont, we don't get all that much sun. So they're not doing a hell of a lot this time of year.
It's just been very nice having a stable electric bill. I know how much my electric bill is going to be every month, except the $10 here and there, and that's nothing to do with Sunrun. That has something to do with the stupid laws here in Vermont as far as electricity.
It's a flat fee for Sunrun, $111 a month. That's my lease with them. But then you pay for the meter for the electric company. And they've got some funky pricing here in Vermont that depending on how much you use depends on how much they charge your meter. But it's just been nice. I've saved a hell of a lot of money by doing that.
And to be honest with you, since I'm leasing the eqipment, if something happens, they are responsible for it.

We had three different companies come out to give us information about getting solar panels added, and Sunrun was one of them. They weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive, but we didn't factor in the price as much as we considered how they communicated what the solar panels could do for us and provide for us, and Sunrun was the most professional out of the three. Everything was completed on time. There was one capacity planning issue where they had too many panels on one circuit, so they had to come back out a couple of months later and fix that, but it was never an inconvenience for us. We have so many trees, it was gonna be impossible for us to get a 100% reduction, but we got as much as we could, which is about 40% of our normal electric bill. Only thing is it’s very slow to see how we are doing and it changes from day to day. Like today, I'll look at it and it'll show that yesterday, I did 33 kilowatt hours. I’ll come back three days later, and it'll say that I did 28 that day. There's probably just a bug in the back end that sums them up. So, more consistency with the data would be great.

We’ve been talking about getting solar for a few years and went to enroll with Sunrun. It was very easy, and they did everything for us. Since we've had them, we have not paid a bill, other than for maintenance, which is $20 to $30 a month. Financially, it’s a really smart move, and it proves to be the case.

Sunrun suck. I spent all that money for a system that doesn't really pay back anything. I love the idea of the solar except for it's not giving me the savings I thought I was intended to get.
When they first installed. I had to keep complaining that this doesn't add up. Is this thing working or not? And then, all of a sudden, I got a credit from National Grid and the thing went back up again.
I switched to solar because I saw all the savings that was gonna be coming and it's gonna be all green. I said, "Wow. If I can save the environment and do something that's impactful, why not? It sounds like a great idea." I didn’t realize I’ll be paying for the system plus it seems like I'm paying more.
The only thing they tell me, "Oh, you need to run your appliances when the system is running the most, just in the daytime." I said, "That's a bunch of horse crap."
And the other thing too, they have a referral program. I gave them a couple of referrals. I haven't seen anything. It's a sham.

The house we bought had Sunrun already, and switching over was not a big deal. They’ve been pretty professional, and we haven’t had any complaints with them. Our bill is definitely lower. But we wish that we were able to buy the panels and not lease them. That’s what we’re trying to do. We don’t like the fact that we have to renew the lease every time, after 30 years or something. We don't want that. Hopefully, that changes.

I'm very satisfied with Sunrun. Electric prices in Southern California kept going up and my bills kept increasing by 1% every year. What I'm paying on the lease is three times more if I have an actual bill, but Sunrun gives me a rebate every two years, which pays for three months’ worth of lease, so it's been a win-win. Horizon, who's now out of business, was the contractor that installed it, and they were a little shaky. But once Sunrun took over, I’ve had no problems. Whenever I had issues, Sunrun got it handled quickly.

Our experience with Sunrun was very good, and we already have our panels in. We had been interested in solar to conserve on oil and fossil fuels. We looked at three different companies, and we chose them. Enrollment was very good and two people came out. We talked a while about it and discussed different plans, and they were very professional. Since we got the panels, we have noticed slight cost savings. Overall, everything is working fine. The process was very smooth and we had a very good experience.

The Sunrun rep did the presentation right then and there when he came, and it was good and informative. They were very much within the timeline, and the installation was a piece of cake. The installers were great, and they did it all in a half a day. I haven’t had electrical bills since I got it. Overall, my experience has been excellent. I have told many people that I enjoy it and I am very happy with what I have now.

Going with Sunrun has helped a lot ‘cause it’s significantly lowered our electricity bill. But in the last couple of months, I noticed the bill has tripled from $15 to $40. Other than that, it’s been fine. Customer service has been good, and the price was within the market.

Sunrun did a wonderful job for us. The young lady who sold it to us was excellent. She was professional, and very attentive to our needs. We have sun on both sides of our house, so we decided to do both sides, and our bill has gone down. They did an excellent job.

Send false documents about a house we considered buying, after we bought and transferred service we had issues getting service turned on. Then come to find out they sent false docs and instead of 18k system saving $50 per month, it was a 14k system that would lose $50; a month if working optimally, but as it turns out by their numbers it only makes half what they say, and 1/4 what electric company says. Spent 2 months trying to work it out with them, now paying $5k for lawyer to handle it. Avoid them at all costs, liars and fraudsters.

I'm a Sunrun customer and deeply regret signing up with them. It took them a year to install everything, when they had promised me a 2-3 month turn-around. Their app is poorly designed and cannot even show you real-time stats. Last year I had a 2-month outage (it took them 2 MONTHS to fix it), yet they refuse to provide a refund despite promising this twice. In Illinois, the state started charging sales tax, so my bill just went up 10%. Stay away, find a better provider.

My experience with Sunrun has been a nightmare. When they first approached me, I explained that I had just bought my house and was not interested in financing due to my mortgage, but they assured me there was a new program where financing wasn't necessary. However, it turned out I was financing and my bills increased. A month in, I realized something was off and contacted Atlantic City Electric. They informed me I didn't have enough panels to go off-grid. Despite numerous communications with Steve, the salesperson, the issue dragged on for over six months with no resolution. My bills exceeded $500 a month even though I live alone.
I was originally told by a referral that I would benefit from using solar, which attracted me to Sunrun. Unfortunately, I felt misled multiple times during my interaction with them. I even provided evidence of my conversations with Steve, but received false explanations about state approvals that were later contradicted when I contacted state authorities directly. Despite numerous requests, Sunrun failed to produce any denial letters they supposedly received from the state.
Additionally, I was frustrated by them suggesting I finance more panels despite paying $127 a month for the system that wasn't delivering promised savings. They proposed adding more panels only after a year of use, yet continuously failed to take action. My A-shaped roof clearly had more space for additional panels, but they insisted I needed to finance them.
As a 100% disabled veteran, I made my financial capabilities clear from the beginning, stating that my consistent income supports my entire household. Despite my explicit budget discussions, the outcome was entirely contradictory to Sunrun’s initial promises. When the bills hit $500, I was forced to create a budget due to the unexpected financial strain. The entire process has been incredibly stressful, and I regret my decision to engage with Sunrun. I now consider taking legal action if no satisfactory resolution is reached.

I first learned about Sunrun when their representatives were walking down my street. They came over to explain the solar panel offering, but since my partner wasn't home, I asked them to return when we were both available. They did, and explained the process, assuring us that there would be no upfront costs. They took care of everything, including repairing our electrical box before installing the solar panels. They were great.
Regarding the installation, I wasn't home at the time, but by the time I got back, everything was completed. The only time they came inside the house was to go to the attic, and that took about 15 minutes.
If a friend asked about my experience with Sunrun, I’d say it was great, especially compared to another company, Nova. They offered a generator but they've been horrible. On the other hand, Sunrun has been reliable from the start without any hassles. Based on this, I would certainly recommend them to others, and I have.

Our experience with Sunrun has been excellent from the start. Originally, another company installed our solar panels, but they went bankrupt, and Sunrun took over. They followed our existing contract and the team completed the installation in just one day. We have about 18 or 19 panels. After the installation, we noticed a significant difference in our electricity within a month. Edison provides us with a credit each month, ranging from $50 to $300, which was previously issued as checks but is now applied directly to our bill.

I learned about Sunrun through a colleague of mine. When it came to getting set up with Sunrun, the process was smooth, and I didn't encounter any issues during the installation. I have 14 panels installed, and overall, my experience has been positive. I would advise others to be cautious about the type of solar panels they choose, as sometimes the production might not meet the quoted percentage. In my case, I found that I was underproducing. Despite this, I would still rate my experience with Sunrun as 5 stars. The pricing I considered to be a 4-star experience, and for quality and customer service, I would also rate it 5 stars.

I first encountered Sunrun at Costco, where I was working at the time. The installation process was extremely smooth; the team was efficient and ensured everything was working correctly before they left. I've had no issues since the installation. I've definitely noticed a significant decrease in my electrical bill, meeting Sunrun’s promises. There were no false claims, and everything was as expected. I've already recommended Sunrun to around three or four friends, showing them my reduced bills as evidence. Overall, my experience with Sunrun has been consistently positive, and I'm very satisfied.

The sales representative from Sunrun was very nice and efficient, delivering everything in a timely fashion despite the usual delays that come with such processes.
Since installing with Sunrun, I've noticed my billing has improved, which is a relief given the rising prices of gas and oil. I hope this remains beneficial even as energy markets fluctuate in the future. Currently, I have a surplus of energy because I'm not home full-time. This surplus should help during the scorching summers in my area, which are similar to Palm Springs heat.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with Sunrun's service and would rate my experience a 5 out of 5.

I chose Sunrun due to its reputation as a large and reliable company. The enrollment process was straightforward; someone came to my home to inspect the roof and check everything was in good condition. They took care of all the necessary preparations.
I've been using Sunrun for about two years now, and the experience has been seamless. I enjoy having a consistent monthly bill that allows me to budget without worrying about seasonal fluctuations. It covers my entire electricity needs, and it's a 'set it and forget it' kind of system.
If I had to rate my experience with Sunrun, I’d give it a 5. I've told a lot of my neighbors and they've been doing it as well. What I love most about solar energy with Sunrun is the reduction in my electricity bill. Plus, I can easily track my monthly solar production using the app on my phone.

Your customer service is horrible. 5 calls was promised get return $180 Sunrun bill and also get bill from National grid each month $265. $250, $255, $245, etc. Total average bill monthly $425. That’s a rip off. Customer service was useless. No solar bill was $350. Promised that it was great. I would highly recommend not to get Sunrun. Promises were not fulfilled. Nothing but lies. I send them as requested a few Nat Grid bills. Waste of time..It’s too late for me. Make sure you read the fine print.

I would rate SunRun 0 stars if it was an option! They are HORRIBLE and IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with/get answers from! We had our panels put on about 2 years ago, well about 6 months after our panels were installed our roof started leaking, upon further investigation and year later, it was determined that the panels were not put on correctly and it caused damage to our roof! One year and lots of headaches later, they came out to replace the roof. They took the panels off and sent someone out to put a new roof on. Our panels have been off of our roof for over a month and our roof has been completed. They were supposed to put the panels back on within a week of the roof being installed.
Well it is a MONTH and A HALF later and our panels are not put back on and we are still being charged for them even though they are not in use due to no fault of our own. Everyone we call says they will have someone get back to us and never do! It is absolutely ridiculous and so unprofessional! I would absolutely never ever recommend them to anyone! The worst!

Prior to installing with SUNRUN (they talked to my husband as they were selling at COSTCO) we never had any issues with our roof. We installed in 2019 and to this day, we have had issues with leaks, water in our ceiling, about $30K in additional out of pocket repairs (all pushed on to us by SUNRUN, they would not take any responsibility to pay/reimburse or to even just help us get things fixed). This is our biggest regret with our home since we moved. All of the additional roof issues and expenses we have had are directly related to the SUNRUN install.
We have come back from vacation to find our ceiling bubbled with water and leaking on to our rugs (and our hardwood floors). We are worried with every rain. Each time there's an issue we have to get roofers back out, and they ultimately let us know there was another issue, with panel install, etc. etc. We have never had such a terrible time with a Costco related provider and we are incredibly disappointed and frustrated.
I do think if you live in an area that gets a lot of sun, that solar panel install could be a good idea for you. Please do your research, meet with different companies. I would not recommend SUNRUN; they cared only about selling the $30K install, then stopped providing support/warranty/service afterwards. To make matters worse, sometimes their panels are not functioning correctly, and then we don't benefit from solar savings anyway. If we can save another person or family from spending unnecessary money, and from the time/frustration from dealing with faulty installs, SUNRUN people giving you the runaround, and not making sure your panels/install/roof are working properly, then we should. We are on the 6th year of dealing with issues and additional costs from the install. We paid $30K for the install, and an additional $30K (no help from SUNRUN) to fix all the damage from the install.

When you meet with the salesperson (Philp ** at Boundless, Inc: **) and they review your low projected monthly payments should you sign up, what they fail to mention is that when the system fails (and it will), you'll still pay Sunrun for solar you're not receiving, AND you'll have to pay the astronomical bill from the utility company that lead you to seek solar in the first place.
It's been less than a year, and my panels don't work. And please don't fool yourself into thinking Sunrun is the kind of proactive company that will monitor the health of your panels - they don't. I get the impression they couldn't care less. I found out when I received a very high utility bill. Confused, I contacted Sunrun immediately. After a lengthy Live Chat, I was told a "tech team" would look into it. A month went by, and I hadn't heard a thing, so I call again and was given the same song and dance, except now I'm told that the issue is due to weather.
Mind you, no one from Sunrun had actually visited to troubleshoot the problem. I received this "weather" explanation from Diane in Live Chat, who must be a savant. How she was able to get to the root of the problem so quickly without having to do anything is incredible. And the solution? Nothing. There's nothing they can do. Because it's winter and to everyone's surprise, it snows in New Hampshire. So, while Sunrun is allegedly monitoring the issue, and I'm told no action is needed at this time, I have to pay two utility bills. Definitely not what I signed up for, and DEFINITELY not receiving the service I was promised.

Enrolling and signing up with Sunrun was very pleasurable. We had dealt with a few other companies, which was excruciating, and Sunrun was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, which is one of the reasons why we went with them. Going solar has been great so far. We haven't had any problems and if we have any questions, they're available and they get back with us right away. We've had a couple of user questions on the app and they helped us through it. Also, our electric bills have gone way down. We've recommended it to a couple of our friends.

The Sunrun rep and I walked around the house, checked out the exposure the roof had and what options there were to put the panels and ways to improve it, because we could take down some trees too. The rep told me how the process works. They come and do a scan with the things that fly in the air and hen they'll be able to put together a schematic based on that and understand where the best spots are, like good light. It was very thorough and they gave me all the details. It was a good understanding on the initial presentation.
The installers came, and it got it all done within a day. It was smooth. They didn't make a mess. Walked everything through how the system works, and it was very thorough. People didn't realize we have the panels up there. They produce what I hoped to, so it was a good experience. My bill is nonexistent in the summer. There's a good offset with everything there, so it has been a great decision to get those put in place for us. They keep improving the app that they have to track what we are producing, so that's nice to see and how it works and what we produce. It's nice that they always gett things better that way, too.

Sunrun was at Costco and we started talking to their guy. We had kind of kicked it around a little bit because the Edison bills were getting higher and higher. The month before, they changed the way it works here in California. I forget what they call it. So, we get the 100% back on whatever we oversell to them. And now, you only get like a quarter of it, whatever you sell back to the grid back. I had no problems with Sunrun's enrollment process. It was simple. It was a couple of hours at home.
We had one issue with the install and then one other issue. I just called them. We had a power outage in the daytime and I thought the solar would continue to work the house but it did not. As far as I know, the system's performing like it's supposed to. We've had less rain this year. I keep track of it myself. I have a spreadsheet that I use. So every week I go and get the previous week's dailies and put that in there. We're only in our second year. Last year, we ended up having to pay Edison 40 bucks, but this year, we should get something back from them. So, I've been pleased in that regard. As long as we don't have to pay anything to them, I'm good.

We had a Sunrun representative come over and he explained everything about Sunrun. The enrollment process was fairly easy. However, the communication seemed like it was internal to their process. Once the rep finished and got us to "sign on", and then it was handed off to another project lead. I don't know if things changed during the process, but it got a little rocky at first. I had to keep following up, and that was a little aggravating. But we got through it. Their app is wonderful too. It explains everything and it's easy to understand.

Call for a quote and was told would take over electric bill and price was equal to PGE. First never received a true-up bill for first year, PGE said was not approved to operate. 2023 $1475. Aug till end of year. $5162. In 2024 and so far this year only $219. Being told I missed April cut-off for NEM 2.0, what rep sold me on.

I interacted with Sunrun for their solar services after seeing their booths at Costco. My primary interest in solar services was to avoid being affected by fluctuating electric bills and rate hikes. We opted to lease the solar equipment because it offered us a steady bill each month.
The customer service from Sunrun has been very outstanding. We have an upcoming appointment to learn more about solar batteries. It's worth mentioning that Sunrun didn't offer solar batteries initially, but I'm keen to explore this further.
Overall, I've been satisfied with Sunrun's services and would recommend them to others looking for stable energy costs.

I recently made the switch from Vivint to Sunrun after initially learning about solar through a neighbor who was involved with Vivint. I have to say, I am much happier with Sunrun. The customer service is exceptional, which is one of the main reasons I prefer Sunrun over my previous provider. The installation process was seamless. At the time, I was volunteering at Rio Rancho City Hall, and since the inspectors were familiar with me, everything went smoothly. I'm also pleased to mention that my neighbor, who had their solar installed just a day before mine, is equally satisfied with Sunrun. The company is fantastic to work with; any minor issues I've had were promptly addressed.

I visited a Home Depot where I first learned about Sunrun. I wasn't actively seeking solar solutions, but a young man offered information about potential benefits, and I agreed to set up an appointment to learn more. Sunrun sent someone to my house, who spent a generous amount of time with me, answering all my questions and making sure I understood everything thoroughly. The whole process of getting set up was very smooth and pleasant.
The representatives I interacted with were extremely warm and friendly, unlike typical salespeople. They didn't pressure me into anything but instead presented all the facts and benefits relevant to my personal situation, given my house and energy needs. Their ability to answer my questions was impressive and appreciated.
There was a slight delay in beginning the installation, which initially concerned me, but once it started, the process was efficient. Sunrun arranged for some necessary roofing work before the electrical and solar panel installations, involving various contractors. Interestingly, each of these providers was polite, meticulous, and respectful of my home. The entire installation took a few months due to roofing, electrical, panel installations, and the hookup process, but I had no complaints.
Since the installation, I've noticed a significant difference in my electricity bill. I would rate my experience with Sunrun a full 5 stars for their exceptional service, quality of work, and pricing, which was comparable to competitors. I first heard about Sunrun Solar on the internet and decided to explore solar options because PG&E's charges were extremely high—I was paying over $1,500 a month. Sunrun installed the solar panels on my house for free, which was a significant factor in choosing them over other providers. The installation went smoothly, and since then, my monthly energy costs have dropped to around $400, which is a massive difference. I initially started with Vivint Solar and eventually transitioned to Sunrun when they acquired Vivint about seven years ago. The sign-up process back then felt as complex as buying a house, with a full contract and paperwork. My overall experience with Sunrun has been positive; the solar setup is good, but dealing with PG&E in California can be challenging as they aim to maximize charges. However, Sunrun's service is user-friendly, and I can easily track energy usage through their app.
Since switching to solar, my PG&E bill has decreased, although I don't have complete data since I recently upgraded my system from gas to electric heating. I haven't needed to contact Sunrun's customer support yet.
If I were to rate Sunrun, I would give them a 4 out of 5 due to my limited interaction with customer support. I would recommend Sunrun to others because it helps reduce my bills, albeit slightly.

With the rising cost of electricity, I decided to look into solar energy. I heard about Sunrun through friends who had opted for their services, and after researching online and speaking with a few companies, Sunrun seemed like the best choice for me.
The sales process was smooth. Jen, the saleswoman, was excellent to deal with. Tamara was incredibly friendly, responsive, and always made sure to return my calls promptly. Though there were some initial delays due to subcontractor coordination, once the issue was resolved, the installation moved quickly.
Since installation, I've noticed stability in my electric bills and significant savings. I opted for a 25-yr lease, paying $111 a month for the panels. Initially, the electric company charged about $19 for the meter, which has now increased to $26. Despite this, my costs are still significantly lower than my previous electricity bills, which used to be around $200 a month.
Tracking energy production is easy with Sunrun's user-friendly app, which provides daily and monthly breakdowns. I can also check the electric company’s website for usage comparisons and credits.
Overall, my experience with Sunrun has been incredibly positive. I highly recommend them to anyone considering solar energy. Going solar has not only saved me money but also reduced the stress of high electricity bills. I first learned about Sunrun when it had a different name, which I've forgotten, a long time ago. My interest in solar energy came from a desire to reduce my electric bill and contribute positively to the planet. Sunrun offered an opportunity to adopt solar without paying a lot upfront, and they provided good service and communication.
The installation happened quite some time back, so I don't remember the specifics, but transitioning to solar with Sunrun significantly lowered my electric bills. I can track my energy production because they send me an email each month with the bill, detailing my usage.
Overall, I'm satisfied with Sunrun. I would rate them a 4 out of 5. I've been a customer for a while and would tell friends and family that Sunrun is reliable. Their team knows exactly what to do during visits, and I don't need to intervene unless necessary. They are prompt with their service, which is something I appreciate.
I've never been paid to say anything positive about Sunrun and am sharing my genuine experience.

I first heard about Sunrun through a recommendation from a neighbor. I've dealt with many solar companies, and for my Vermont house, Sunrun was the choice. A nice salesperson came out to the house and talked with me. The initial panel installation was well-executed, and Sunrun efficiently handled all regulatory aspects with Vermont Electric Cooperative, making it an easy installation. However, I believe Sunrun has since pulled out of Vermont, which is unfortunate as it would be more convenient to have their services readily available. Would rate the experience a 3 out of 5.

The enrollment process with Sunrun was very streamlined and happened relatively quickly. I decided to go solar mainly in an attempt to save money.
While I like that I'm using a renewable energy source, I'm a bit unsure about the financial savings. I expected to save more money, and at this point, I'm not entirely certain that I am saving any at all.

I have been using Sunrun for many years now and I love their service. Originally, I heard about them when they knocked on my door, and back then, they were known by a different name. The main reason I chose to go solar was to help save the trees and contribute positively to the environment.
Throughout my experience with Sunrun, I've interacted with their customer service multiple times, mostly because they remind me when my Wi-Fi codes change. Their team is extremely responsive and always friendly. They make sure to follow up.
Going solar has significantly impacted my life. It saves me money, especially during the summer when I run my air conditioning all day. I also like to think I'm helping save the planet by using cleaner energy.
Overall, I would rate Sunrun a 5 out of 5.

I first heard about Sunrun through advertising and eventually decided to go with them after comparing different offers. The initial presentation was satisfactory, but it was the second presentation that truly convinced me, which was presented by Sunrun. The installation process was quite impressive—they not only installed the solar panels but also repaired my roof. Although there was a cost involved, they provided me with a discount.
I received 24 panels, and I've certainly noticed a difference in my electric bill; I only pay a basic fee of $10 a month. If a friend were to ask about my experience, I would say it depends on their preferences, but if they share my interests, I'd recommend Sunrun.
I would rate their overall service a 4 out of 5, their customer service and quality a solid 5, and the pricing a 5 as well for its affordability at the time of my purchase.

I chose Sunrun for solar energy because I previously had SolarCity, which was acquired by Tesla, and I was not satisfied with their customer service. Sunrun's service quality is significantly better. I have been experiencing issues with my Tesla system, as it keeps going down, presumably due to it being an old model requiring Wi-Fi updates that were never provided. But with Sunrun, I've noticed considerable savings on my bill for the home I currently live in. They are doing a great job and I'm very satisfied with their service.

I got the panels 2001. I was promised that I would Be Saving money on electricity, well it has been over three years and my bill has gotten higher. They said I would have the power to spare, but Now I am paying over $ 176.00 PSNG plus $79 to SunRun a month, before the panel I was paying $120 a month. Now they (SunRun) are telling me that they did put enough panels because they are not producing ENOUGH energy and insult to injury they said because of a Violation they can't put any more Panels. This FRUSTRATE me because they calculated how many I would need. I don't understand why they would need another permit to install more panels if there are already on my roof, the prizing is another issue. They Raise the payment each year, I have been ROB.

A SunRun salesman convinced me to make an appointment to talk about their lease in detail. He suggested that my bill, which is currently $56, would become much less even when I would be paying them $100 each month. He made claims that selling the power back to the utility would accomplish that bill reduction. I signed the contracts then started looking for more information. It took me 3 days to dig through all the contract pages and to find the table that SCE uses to pay back. It turns out, in the best case I'd get about $13 back (1st year only) while I pay SunRun $100, so my bill would be $87 in year 1 and $100 later on (not accounting for annual rate increases), which is much more than I pay now. I canceled the contracts within the 5-day grace period (thank goodness).
The salesman did not tell clearly what I signed for and did not give me time to read the first 4 pages from the CPUC document that he is required to do. He never gave a clear answer to my questions about where I could find the SCE payback information. He did tell me that I needed to get a new panel at my own cost. I also called another company that told me right away that solar is uneconomical if your bill is only $56. So, they know, why did SunRun not tell me that.
I gave it 2 stars because the salesman did show me detailed calculations that were methodologically correct (while the payback numbers were wishful thinking), and he described the technicalities well. The installation, maintenance and permits are also taken care of. If you are willing to pay money for being friendly to the environment, it is not a horrible deal. I was also told that SunRun gets a discount for the power walls (that was clear just looking at the consumer market prices and the lease of the power wall). Also, interfacing with the utilities can be a nightmare because they hate solar for consumers. SunRun will shield you from that.
I am going to wait until the price of the power walls come down, and until they have more efficient solar panels such as the ones that are sandwiched with Perovskite that can be twice as efficient. I will then buy my own equipment.

Sunrun is the worst solar company on the face of the earth. The panels were not installed correctly on my roof, so they caused my roof to leak and water damage to the inside of my house. My insurance company found Sunrun at fault for the damage to my roof. Sunrun is refusing to pay to have my roof replaced, and they want me to pay them to have the panels taken off my house so I can get my roof replaced.

This was our second installation of solar panels using Sunrun. The first panels were on the back roof on the house and these are on the front roof. I am very unhappy with how the shiny silver piping hangs off the eaves and runs down the front of the house. I have never seen anything like it on another house. Other companies are great at hiding the mechanics of the solar panel installation and you don't see any pipes at all. We may be saving money on energy costs, but only at the cost of our property and resale value.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise against choosing Sunrun for solar power. I've been on their guaranteed production plan for over five years, and my panels were down from March 15, 2024, until they were finally repaired in December 2024. When I asked for the promised production credit, I was told it wouldn't be issued until October 2025. While the company is very polite and accommodating during the initial sales process, their customer service becomes extremely frustrating and unresponsive once you're locked into a contract. And the guaranteed production is a scam. I received the guaranteed return of $184.84 for duration of 260 days, while in same period I had to pay $100s to ComEd.

Sales process went swimmingly. Of course, that is probably by design. Mussie, who no longer works there was kind and communicative. Fast forward to install. Seems to go well. Except, no, we start experiencing leaks in our bedroom ceiling and when our contractor looks at our roof, it's apparent that the installers drilled holes in the wrong spots, didn't correct the issue and just left our roof compromised. Tried to no avail to get it dealt with but SunRun does not care. It's never been fixed after years.
Fast forward again, we experienced a microburst in 2022 that sent trees and tree limbs flying. Solar panels were smashed. Called SunRun immediately after the adjuster left, sent them photos of the crushed panels, and their call center told us, "everything (data) looks fine for solar production so it's a non-issue." Oh, sure, because the photos of the smashed panels are just...not an issue? That was 2.5 years ago. I still don't have panel replacements, customer service is a joke, I have interior damage to my home.
Yesterday, techs showed up at our house without an appointment to replace our battery backup. That's been broken for over half a year. Apparently, calling us and making an appointment is too much to ask? We work from home and our child is home recovering from surgery. Again, is this good customer service? Spoiler alert: NO.
Their sales people reached out to me asking me to refer people to them for $1k. Absolutely not. You could not PAY ME ENOUGH MONEY to tell you something positive about this company and screw another human over. There isn't anything positive! If I could give zeroes across the board, I would. Do not walk, RUN from this company. It's the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. And I am stilling waiting on my panels.

I’ve been a Sunrun customer since 2019 and I recently had a second system installed on an ADU on my property. The process went smoothly through installation, but bringing the system on-line required a significant amount of follow-up to make sure the process stayed on track. What’s more disappointing is text messages and emails were regularly not responded to until multiple attempts were made. Imagine the frustration in being ignored. At this point I’m having to follow up on a cash card that was communicated as a sales benefit.

This company is so unethical. I had to deal with their warranty because of a bad install. Their warranty claim took 18 months to finally approve, meanwhile I had roof leaks during this process. The first leak was fixed, but when I tried to report the second leak, the warranty manager denied my claim stating it was "cosmetic", even though I showed them photos of water damage on my roof.
Out of my pocket, I had to hire contractors and they found mounts improperly installed, in addition, had no purpose was on my roof because SunRun did not want to deal with the repair. SunRun is doing everything they can to hide all the bad installs. I have spoken to 5 different contractors, and my lawyer has over 200 cases all from SunRun. If you want to go Solar, I suggest avoiding SunRun and making sure you have actual professional roofers working on the roof or you will pay thousands out of pocket for repair and the stress of seeing your roof leak for over a year.

I wish I had the option for 0 stars. Have had a terrible experience with getting panels reinstalled on my mothers roof after the roof was repaired. It has been almost a year now. The panels were removed in March of 2023. Approximately 6 weeks later, they were ready to be re-installed. This is when the comedy begins. After several months of back and forth, they finally schedule a time for a crew to come out in June/July. After working the morning, they tell us that they heard a forecast of rain and would come back the next day to finish. Sky was pretty much full sun, but OK....and guess what, they no-show the next day.
Now weeks/months go by. You call and get told that someone will call you back. No call back. You call and ask for a supervisor and they tell you can only get a supervisor call back. No call back. You get the supervisor's name and email, send emails, and you guess it....no response or call back. When you speak to them and clearly get frustrated, they wonder why. They finally get some third party vendor involved "who gets involved when issues are escalated". They tell me they get a lot of work from Sunrun....not surprised. They schedule a date to come out and they come out to take the panels off. Not reinstall!! I have text messages confirming this as part of their pre appointment confirms.
Despite me telling them it was for a reinstall and not confirming, they show up at the house a day early in an unmarked truck. Truly scared the heck out of my mother (who recently lost her husband). She calls me and I drop everything to run to the house as she wouldn't answer the door with 2 unexpected strange men and they wouldn't leave. They apologized and basically said that they thought it was OK to come a day early. Unbelievable. At this point my mother doesn't even want the panels back on due to all the frustrations!! Sunrun should be paying us for the hours and hours of wasted time. I can go on and on.... Still waiting for a manager, a supervisor to contact us....that is what they keep telling us at least. Run....don't fall for it.

I first encountered Sunrun at Costco and was initially drawn to the idea of going solar because I believed it would be cheaper than my current energy expenses. The sales representative was good to work with, creating a positive experience in that aspect.
However, my assumption that switching to Sunrun would be more economical has not been realized. The process of switching over was smooth, and I didn't encounter any stress during the transition. The installation itself was straightforward, with no significant issues or delays.
Despite the seamless setup, I am unsure if there's any financial benefit as expected since my payments have been increasing. While I appreciate the environmental benefits of solar power, I'm yet to see the cost savings I anticipated.
I've had limited interaction with Sunrun's customer service post-installation. I once inquired about the possibility of increasing my solar panels, but my request was declined. Other than that, I haven't reached out about my billing concerns.
Overall, my experience with Sunrun has been average. I would rate it around 3 out of 5, considering both the positive and negative aspects.

The experience with Sunrun has been great since they installed the solar panels several years ago. We've had no complaints and are quite happy. The main reason we decided to go solar was to save on electricity costs, and that's definitely been successful for us. We receive monthly statements and there's also an app available to track our production. Overall, I'd rate Sunrun highly and would recommend them to friends and family. They're easy to work with, honest, and have helped us save money.

I have not even had Sunrun for a year and keep having the same problem: My battery is not working and I get bills from Edison. A few months ago when I had the first problem, Sunrun came out to "fix" the battery problem in a month's time and gave me credit for my Edison charge. Again in December I had a small bill from Edison and then in January a very large bill. I was told when I decided to switch to Sunrun that I would not have to pay Edison and was encouraged to change because Edison's rates were going up in the new year. Well I now have over $100 to pay Edison and Sunrun's higher fees. Calling for help, puts me in contact with someone out of the country and told someone would call me in 48 hours to fix the problem. Today, no call and still no contact. I want to cancel as this company does not deliver good service or equipment. Very unhappy customer in CA.

I initially heard about Sunrun through advertising and a referral. The customer service was good at first, but as the process continued, it became quite confusing. There was a lack of clarity on the coordination, timing and setup, making the process somewhat of a mess. The installation itself went well, although they had to come twice because the equipment was initially installed incorrectly. However, they did return and fix it.
Since using Sunrun, I've noticed some savings on my electricity bill. I've been with them for the past two years. If a friend or family member asked about my experience, I'd tell them it requires a lot of coordination, almost like a part-time job, so they should be prepared to work closely with the company to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Regarding the app, I think it could be improved by offering a more detailed breakdown of savings. Overall, my experience with Sunrun has been mixed, and I would rate them a 3 out of 5.

I chose Sunrun for solar energy installation about four years ago when they were practically the only option available in my area. Initially installed in February, I had to wait for summer to fully evaluate its performance due to poor weather conditions. Once summer and fall arrived, I was quite pleased with the results. For about eight months of the year, my electricity bills have noticeably decreased. However, during the other four months, the changes aren’t as evident, likely due to the angle of the sun.
While I don't have major issues or suggestions for Sunrun to improve, I am interested in receiving information about cleaning and maintaining the solar panels, as they seem to be getting dirty and it doesn’t rain much here. Overall, I would rate my experience with Sunrun positively.

I was first introduced to Sunrun Solar through a flyer and, at the time, was already considering solar options. Choosing to lease instead of buying worked well for me since Sunrun takes responsibility for maintenance, cleaning, and any necessary repairs. My overall service experience with Sunrun has been steady, and I have not faced any issues. They were really nice people. Since installation, I've noticed that my electricity consumption is low enough that I usually accumulate credits monthly, which is fantastic. I have only a few panels, unlike my neighbor, whose entire roof features solar panels, but the setup suits my needs perfectly. If I were to advise a friend or neighbor about Sunrun, I’d suggest they call for an estimate and do their own research. That's what I did—compared costs with a few other companies, called up Sunrun, and once they assessed that my roof was suitable, I went ahead. I'm delighted not to have an electric bill to pay.

We were impressed with Sunrun because it was associated with Costco. My prior experience with SunPower at a different house was terrible, so I was cautious. However, Sunrun has been excellent. When it came to the installation, they were very professional, helpful, and expedient, contrasting sharply with my previous experience, which took over four years and required legal intervention just to get the installation completed. Sunrun managed to finish and have everything operational within 60 days.
I track the progress through my son, who handles most of the technical aspects for me. Since the installation, I've noticed a substantial reduction in my electricity bill, almost zeroing it out, which is fantastic. I would rate Sunrun a 5. I've recommended them to others through neighborhood apps, praising the company for their professionalism and speed.

I first became interested in Sunrun because my dad noticed that many neighboring houses were installing solar panels. This prompted me to research online for different solar panel companies, and Sunrun caught my attention because of their proactive engagement with us. The application process went smoothly, and we were in constant communication with their representative. However, things changed post-installation when we faced an issue with one of the gutters, which Sunrun eventually resolved after several calls.
Our main issue arose with a program they promised, which was supposed to provide monthly cashback into our checking account. They assured us that they would handle everything, but this never materialized, and our payments have only increased. Attempts to contact our representative went unanswered. Sunrun's customer service seemed unaware of this issue, leading us to seek help from another company, which explained what Sunrun should have assisted us with. The representative disappearing post-installation was extremely disappointing.
We're able to track our solar production, though it's less than expected. Our home is small and located in a not-so-sunny area, leading to modest production. While there's some difference in our electricity bill, it doesn't feel worth it since we're not receiving the anticipated monthly rebates. The monthly $100 cost for panels offsets the savings on our electricity bill, contrary to the initial promise of additional savings. Given my experience, I would rate Sunrun a 2 out of 5 and would not recommend them to anyone. I'm now working with another company that provides far better support and information, a stark contrast to my experience with Sunrun.

Awesome solar panel company. I have experienced some hiccups but they corrected them in a timely manner. Very happy to say that when going to so called box stores and rep is there I always say, I have it and smile. It's nice to have solar pay for my ele power.

The worst solar company with the highest prices to help pay their large overhead staff. I had them for 10+ years and they won't work with you later on. All is very nice in the beginning. I will not recommend them to my family, friends, or business associates.

My wife and I chose Sunrun based off a recommendation from a friend. Our understanding is we would have a $20ish base rate paid to Edison and a fixed rate with Sunrun. To date, our SCE bill has not reduced... it is the same for this season last year. So essentially now I have an SCE bill AND a solar bill. This is a complete rip off.
Sunrun can't figure out why our battery is not a power source for our home. Two techs have been out here and are as confused as ever. I called the Sunrun support line and they told me there is an issue with the battery that the tech can't see on their on-site visit. Huh??? A different tech is supposed to come out on January 13th (this is nearly a month after we called) all the while our SCE bill continues to climb and we have a worthless solar system on our home.

I initially contacted this company at Lowe's and showed an interest in possibly going solar. I scheduled the appointment and then spoke to a few people who I noticed had solar panels in place and the information received was not very good, so I decided to not go solar. I contacted the company and cancelled my appointment, thinking that would be the end of it. But every month or so I get repeated phone calls from this company harassing me. Politely, I asked them to stop calling me and yet here is it again, they are calling again 4 times a day. If I decided to go solar, I would NOT use this company because I would never do business with anyone who cannot take no for an answer.

I learned about Sunrun when a salesman came to our door and when I questioned one of my neighbors down the street about her solar panels, she said she had Sunrun and was very happy with it. However, we're not very happy with it right now. We didn't want a variable rate because we're leasing the system and we questioned the salesman on this. He assured us that our payments would remain fixed. Unfortunately, our monthly payments have increased a year later and every year now, it's going to increase for us even though it's supposed to be a set amount of money until we paid it off. This contradicts what we were promised, and it is quite disappointing. It will be been a strain as we rely solely on social security.
On the bright side, the installation process was efficient. The team worked well together, left no mess, and everything was completed promptly. We’ve been able to track our solar system's performance online through Sunrun's site. It's very easy to track.
I'd tell people, "Definitely use solar but don't use Sunrun." While the customer service, online tools, and installation service were excellent, the misleading information on payment stability has overshadowed our experience.

I first heard about Sunrun when a gentleman showed up at our front door, which was a well-timed encounter as my husband and I were already contemplating solar services. Our daughter wasn't convinced it was right for her, but after some research, we decided to give it a try. The representative was informative and helpful. However, we were under the impression that we'd receive a rebate at tax time but later found out that leasing doesn't qualify for such benefits, which was disappointing.
In terms of customer service, I've generally had a positive experience. Although, there was a bit of a hassle with contacting the right person due to some internal transfers. Also, we did face an issue with the roof post-installation, but Sunrun was prompt in addressing it and is currently assisting with another roof-related concern.
My main concern is regarding the utility savings. Despite having the panels, we're still paying a significant amount on our utility bill alongside the Sunrun payment. It seems we may not have enough panels to cover our energy needs fully. I would recommend making sure that the number of panels installed matches the household's energy requirement. I’d also be interested in exploring options for a battery backup system.
Overall, I would recommend Sunrun to others with a few important caveats. They should ensure all aspects are thoroughly evaluated to truly benefit from the solar installation.

I came across Sunrun through their door-to-door representatives shortly after my wife and I purchased our home. We noticed several neighbors had solar panels, which sparked our interest in exploring solar services. The enrollment process was straightforward; Sunrun's team handled most of the paperwork, and we only needed to give our confirmation.
When it came time for installation, the crew was quite efficient. They checked the attic and roof, which was relatively new, and completed the installation in a single day without any inconvenience to us. They were courteous throughout the process.
To track our solar production, I use the Sunrun app on my phone. It’s been useful, although we did encounter an issue where our bill was higher than expected because they did not install enough panels for our energy usage. I have 15 panels and they said I probably needed about four more. They didn't run a credit check when they were knocking on my door, asking me to do this. But all of a sudden, when I needed the extra panels, they decided to run a credit check on me. And my credit is in the toilet right now because we entered a debt consolidation. It's starting to go back up a little bit now. But for the most part, I'm satisfied with Sunrun.
Despite this setback, I’d still recommend Sunrun to others. I would rate my satisfaction somewhere in the middle, around a 4. While my electric bill has decreased, the initial oversight regarding panel capacity was a frustration. Nevertheless, I'm quite pleased overall with Sunrun’s service and have already recommended them to friends and neighbors.

The promise of saving money on energy bills was enticing, especially as a single father and homeowner. Going solar with Sunrun seemed like a good step to take in saving on household expenses. My interactions with Sunrun were excellent. The experience was positive enough that I encouraged my neighbors to get their solar setup with Sunrun, as well as my neighbor's best friend.
Since the installation, my electricity bill has significantly decreased, dropping from around $200 to about $110-$120. The savings are accumulating nicely over time. When reflecting overall, aside from a small hiccup initially with a faulty box that delayed activation, everything has been running smoothly since it was resolved within about two weeks. I don't blame Sunrun for the faulty equipment—those things happen.

After exploring various solar companies, my wife and I settled on Sunrun because they had the best offer for us. The installation experience was smooth and the team was quiet, courteous, and efficient. They managed everything, including contacting the utility company, which was a relief. We keep track of our solar production through notifications from our utility company, letting us know if there's an excess of power going out.
Since the installation, our electrical bills have significantly decreased, which is a huge benefit. I would definitely rate Sunrun highly and recommend them to others. Sunrun had a person standing by a little kiosky thing at Costco and it caught my interest due to my commitment to environmentalism, desire to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and dislike of SDGE. Their representatives were helpful and maintained their scheduled appointments, and the system itself is functioning well. However, there was an issue months after installation when all the items on the breaker that tied into the very small battery storage were offline. Sunrun sent someone out but they said they couldn't figure it out and to call an electrician.
Then my son opened up the circuit breaker, and he unscrewed some panel covers. Apparently, the wires going to the breaker for the storage deal had gotten loose. So my son reattached the wires, correcting the problem. That was a little bit of sloppy work on attaching wires to the panel. But despite this hiccup, I appreciate the benefit of utilizing San Diego's abundant sunshine and have found the addition of an EV home charger quite convenient for my electric vehicle. Overall, my experience with Sunrun has been pleasant and I would highly recommend them.

I first noticed solar panels in the neighborhood and was intrigued by their potential benefits. One day, a representative from Sunrun came by and shared information about their solar energy services, which piqued my interest. I thought maybe my house would be a prime place to put a set of panels on the roof. So, we talked for a little bit. My understanding was that my panels were gonna be able to produce enough electricity that I wouldn't be getting a bill from Ameren, which could run between $35 to $48. They still supply the service to the house. So, I'm always gonna get a bill from Ameren that way.
I'm trying to get more heaters in here so that I can keep my gas furnace from running. I got a couple more space heaters coming and I'm gonna run those throughout the house. I just leave the gas furnace set low enough so that it stays off most of the time, but if it gets so cold and the heater can’t keep up, it will kick on periodically for a little bit. That was the main objective. I want to get rid of the high price of the $400 or $500 a month for the Ameren bill. The initial interactions with Sunrun representatives were positive. However, there was some confusion regarding an energy company switch I needed to make on my end. I thought Sunrun would handle the arrangements but found out later that I was not credited for the electricity my panels produced before I canceled with the previous energy company.
Since the installation, my understanding was that the system would store excess energy produced on sunny days and use it during less sunny periods. However, there's been a bit of frustration because I haven't seen the financial benefits I anticipated, and my monthly payments increased from $138 to $150. Although I'm satisfied with the installation team's work, some aspects of the communication and expectations around the benefits were not as clear. Overall, I'd rate my experience with Sunrun a 4 out of 5. There were some things that were vaguely discussed. You had to make a decision fast. They were going around through the neighborhood and I had to act on it quickly to do it. I would recommend Sunrun for their service and installation to anyone who asks, but advise them to clarify all terms and understand the process thoroughly before proceeding.

I first heard about Sunrun through Costco. Switching over was pretty easy and I dealt with multiple contractors. The installation was quick, with the panels being delivered in the morning and set up by the crew, though it did take a couple of weeks for the building inspector and PSE and J to do their part before the system was fully operational.
I am very satisfied with my decision to go solar. While it hasn't dramatically changed my life, my electricity bill has definitely decreased, which is a notable benefit. Overall, I had a good experience with Sunrun and would give them top marks based on my satisfaction.

I encountered Sunrun when a representative came to my door. Given that my backyard is sunny all day with a long roof, and it was offered for free, I was very interested in pursuing solar energy. The enrollment process was straightforward and hassle-free. The Sunrun representative took care of most of the paperwork, making it very easy for me.
The interaction with the Sunrun team was excellent. They were very helpful, and the process was smooth as everything was coordinated by Sunrun and National Grid. The installation went great without requiring any extra effort from me, and it was well-coordinated between Sunrun and National Grid.
Since going solar with Sunrun, I've saved a lot of money – my electric bill is basically cut in half. Overall, I’m very satisfied with Sunrun and would rate them a five. I haven't noticed any issues since the install, only that my electricity costs are significantly lower.

When I was recruited, I was told that I will not have an Ameren bill, and I will pay a flat rate of $50 monthly, without honestly explaining me that I will not have an Ameren bill for my electricity, and I will still pay the Ameren bill for gas. By the end of the day, for somebody travelling a lot and not living in the house quite lot, there are no savings, and I am overpaying.

I am very unhappy with SunRun at this point. I signed the documents in May of 2024, anticipating I would be installed and connected by December 31 to be grandfathered in ComEd's 1 to 1 credit program available only until December 31, 2024. My system was installed July 11, 2024. I was very happy with the installation crew. I was very happy with the sales people.
My problems have happened after my system was approved by ComEd to be activated September 10, 2024. There is a problem on SunRun's side, and they have come out 3 times, 10/4, 11/4, and 12/4 to try to resolve the issue. They still have not resolved the problem. I have called, and the staff do not understand I had chosen the prepaid leasing option, so I paid SunRun a lot of money after the installation and I am still paying ComEd. They also do not understand the urgency for my system to be working with ComEd before December 31, 2024. I am furious and there is nothing I can do!! This is SunRun's issue, and I will pay for it the rest of my life if I miss the grandfathering in of the 1 to 1 credit. I am ready to call a lawyer.

Sunrun is unethical and not accountable. I purchased my panels through Costco 4 years ago with the promise that they would upgrade my electrical panel if necessary. On the day of installation they said there was just enough room on the panel to squeeze them in so an upgrade was not necessary. During installation they sunk a ground rod next to my water service line. I could hear water running after that and told them they had damaged something. The workers said they had a plumber they could call out to check it but when they called the supervisor he blew it off and said he didn't think it was necessary. I had to cancel all my plans for the day, find a plumber on a weekend and send a video of the service line spraying water where the ground rod nicked it, and complain to Costco before they said oops and offered to reimburse me for the plumber, but nothing for my lost time and inconvenience.
After that I had problems with flickering lights that I didn't realize was caused by the solar panels. 6 months ago the electricity was going off and on in the kitchen so I called an electrician who told me to call PG&E. First PG&E came out and shut off my power. He pulled off breakers and showed me that the panel was burnt behind them. He said this would have taken over 3 years to develop and that I needed a new panel. The electrician came out and said the same thing. The only thing I had changed in that time frame was to add the solar panels.
I contacted Costco who put me in touch with Sunrun's insurance company. After sending them everything they kept asking for more things without being specific about what they wanted. I would have called the electrician back out if they had been specific but that costs money and they weren't being specific or offering to pay for that. After going back and forth for 6 months they denied my claim. I now have to take my complaint back to Costco. If you're looking for solar, I would definitely not recommend Sunrun.

I would like to say our solar was great for a while. Now we are not connected because there is a problem with the system. I have called, emailed, chatted a BUNCH of times to no avail. Nobody returns my phone calls, my emails. I get jerked around by everybody in the company. My system is not produced solar since May 20 24, they have been out three times saying they have a part they’re gonna fix it and yet it’s still not working. I’m paying $154 a month For my solar system. Well also paying a $300 a month light bill if I was you I would find the furthest solar company from Sun Run. Once they get you as a customer, they forget about you. Worst company ever.

We purchased our home in August of 2024 in Yuma, AZ... When we bought our home, which we paid nearly half a million dollars cash for, the person we bought it from had solar installed, Sunrun Solar... He was only like 5 years into a 25 year leasing cycle for the system that is installed in our home and we were told by our realtor that we had to take over the solar contract or we would be unable to purchase the home...
Now, neither my wife nor I have that great of credit history so, needless to say when Sunrun ran our credits they declined us taking over the contract (mind you we were paying $500,000 CASH at this time and despite our credit ratings we have 4 times that in our bank accounts and we both have good jobs as well)... But, Sunrun Said that if we paid the contract two years in advance they would ok us taking over the contract and we would have our first two years of solar paid up front and we could start paying the $140 a month after the credits from two years we paid upfront ran out, but we also had to set up an automatic payment right away that would start again after the first two years was over,,,
So, we gave them something like $3,500 and set up the payment arrangement to began two years from August 2024, so August of 2026 should have been our first payment, but it is the end of November 2024 and so far Sunrun has pulled 4 payments from our checking account and has also pulled from our prepaid account with them... So, each damn month these jokers have double charged us $140 and $140 and they have lied to my wife and myself over the phone telling us that they were, at that every moment sending our money back to our checking account, which has yet to happen even once in 8 to 12 attempts on our part to call them and get this problem rectified...
All that and we still have had a electric bill between $240 and $450 each month and we really don't use very much electricity, definitely not enough to constitute a bill ranging between $520 and $730 dollars a freaking month!!! I was under the impression that solar was going to save us money each month, not double our bill and waste our valuable!!! WHAT A JOKE THIS PLACE IS!!!

Sunrun is an unethical company that preys upon the elderly. A door to door salesperson visited my 82 and 89 year old parents three times. The third time, the salesperson came with an aggressive male who convinced my parents to sign a 25 year contract for solar panels they did not need. My mom understood that everything would be free and that her electricity bill would go down. Installation was free and her bill did go down, but my mom was blindsided when she started getting a $166 monthly bill that will continue for 25 years. She was paying $80-$100 month prior and the salesperson knew that. My mom would not have agreed to paying double for electricity if she had fully understood what she was signing. When I filed a complaint to sunrun, they said they have a recording of my mom agreeing to the terms of the contract so there is nothing we can do. The attorney general of CT has filed a lawsuit against sunrun for this very thing.

Sunrun did reach out. At first, no resolution to our issue. But we kept escalating until there was a satisfactory resolution to our issue. They reworked our contract close to the version our sales rep sold us on. I am happier now that we are working under the contract terms that we "thought" we were working under the whole time. I am happy they worked with us.... eventually. And the system seems to be working well and producing the expected power.

We liked what we heard from our sales rep and signed a lease contract with an escalating price each year. After thinking it over for a day, we sent a message to our sales rep that we were going to cancel. He returned to our house the next day and introduced us to a lease that did not increase year after year. We liked that version of the lease, and signed it that day. So, the whole time the system was being designed and installed, we fully believed we were working off that second lease. Once the system was turned on and it was time to pay our first lease payment, we found out the first lease was in place, and not the second lease. Someone (I don't know who) then cancelled the second lease.
We have had a couple support cases opened on this bait-and-switch of leases, but their support team is unwilling to help us. The solar system appears to be working fine, but we are exceptionally frustrated by the company's tactics of fraudulently gaining our business. Hard to tell if this situation is a paperwork mistake, or a nefarious tactic. But the company's unwillingness to solve the situation leads me to believe the latter.

Sunrun is a total scam! They will extort you out of your money, we paid the panels off when we purchased our house, we called to have them removed because without having a storage battery they serve no purpose. Sunrun told us that we just made the next 20-year payments, and we have to keep them on the house or pay an additional $35K to own them. Our roof was damaged from hurricane and now we need the roof on our house fixed and sun run says that if we remove them and not reinstall them, we will be sued.
They are making a ton of money off of the power that the panels are creating, we had finally arranged for the roofers to take them off and Sunrun to pick up, now the policy has changed, and they no longer will honor their word, they pretty much said they own our roof, but will not pay the deductible to fix our roof. Meanwhile the weight from the panels and the storm damage is making the roof worst!!! Sue me Sunrun because I'm taking them off and they will be in the backyard. Please do not use this company, they will rip you off then threaten to sue you. Also, the panels have been on the roof for 10 years and not 1 time has anyone came to service them, please, please, don't deal with this company. You will be sorry.

Sunrun Solar is very poor when it comes to quality performance and a lot of customers including me are so disappointed/regret so much having this solar. The issue of battery, they are installing default battery like mine, and installing also nonfunctional panels, and they don't even replace roofs that their installers destroyed or breaks.
These are the major problems I encountered with Sunrun solar company. They do not attend to your complaints, so long I have waited for 7 months nothing has been done. They are getting money from my bank account monthly without attending to my complaints that their Solar is not at all producing solar energy, and so that is FRAUD. They should see to it that their system works well and only then they have right to get money from your account, right? So now I am in the process of suing them.

We decided to go with Sunrun for our solar needs. After researching the pros and cons of owning versus leasing, we decided to lease. This decision was best for our needs. I like the idea that they maintenance and handle all the needs of the panel. We just need to make a phone call. The sales rep came out to our home and spent a couple of hours with us going over all of our questions and answering them all. Since we have turned our solar panels on, we have saved over $300 monthly on our PG&E bill. I also like the fact that I get a monthly report from Sunrun letting me know how much energy is producing or if I’m having any issues. We’ve had Sunrun since 2021 and are extremely satisfied with the service service.

My experience with Sunrun has been mostly positive. The power supply has exceeded my expectations, and I am satisfied with the service. However, I was disappointed when it took a long time to fix a breakage, which I believe cost me some money.

I had a frustrating experience with Sunrun. My brother-in-law referred our neighbors to Sunrun, and he was promised a $1000 referral incentive, which he never received. This lack of fulfillment made us hesitant to recommend them to others.
We also faced issues with our inverters that went out for about two months. Despite calling Sunrun daily and being promised a callback, we received none, leading to a very frustrating process. While the installation was smooth once they finally came, the delay and lack of communication were disappointing.
Post-installation, everything has been working fine, but it’s only been a few months. Customer service was less than satisfactory; waiting for calls that never came added to the frustration and made us quite unhappy with our overall experience. We cannot recommend their services based on our interactions.

I first heard about Sunrun through a salesman, and I signed up on their rental program. Unfortunately, my experience with Sunrun hasn't been entirely satisfying. I was disappointed that I didn't have the option of the battery emplacement. Now the current option comes with the battery and they want to charge me more money for a new battery.
Additionally, I didn't realize I was gonna get charged from the Edison company once a year for utilization of the power line. Overall, I'm left wanting a battery with no additional cost, so I can store my solar energy.
If I had to rate my experience, I would give it a 3 out of 5 due to these issues.

Sunrun bought out the original company we were with and everything was communicated through email and follow-up letters, so we knew everything was legit. After the change over in companies, we did a second order of panels and now have two accounts with Sunrun.
For the installation of the second set of panels, it went smoothly and everything was done fast. Since we were already on the grid with Edison, we didn't have to deal with long wait times like the first time. They set the date and came out to put on about 10 additional panels.
Since installation, everything has been working fine. We're not on a generator and we have no battery backup, but even during neighborhood power outages due to mountain fires, once power was restored, our setup is working as expected. I go out and look at the box every once in a while to make sure it has the two lights.
Overall, I would probably rate Sunrun at around a 4. I really appreciate being able to go online to check how much power we're producing, especially on cloudy days. I like being able to look at the graphs to see how we're doing as well. As for price, since we're leasing and not buying, the monthly amount we pay is a 4. I'm pretty happy with Sunrun.

I initially heard about Sunrun through a colleague who had solar installed by them. My main interest in solar energy was to have a set payment for energy costs. The overall experience of switching to Sunrun was fine, and the process took a few months, from signing the paperwork and getting permits to installation and activation. I've had solar for 3 years now, and I'm quite satisfied overall. However, there was a bit of disappointment when I received a true-up bill, indicating that the system didn't generate enough power. I had designed it to cover my usage plus an electric vehicle, but it didn't cover the excess power needed. Instead of adding more panels or installing batteries, which was too expensive and would change my net reading with the electric company, I just paid the bill for the extra usage.
On a star rating scale, I'd rate my overall experience with Sunrun as a 4, the customer service as a 5 and the price that I pay as a 3.

I decided to look into going solar when Sunrun representatives knocked on my door. The process of switching over to Sunrun was easy. I've had Sunrun's services for about four years now. One of the benefits I've noticed is a lower monthly bill. I did have an instance where Sunrun's customer service called me to inform me that something wasn't working, and they came out and fixed it right away. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their service.

When one of Sunrun's sales reps was canvassing the neighborhood, I talked to him and he provided a lot of good information, which convinced me that solar energy was the way to go. Initially, I thought I might not qualify for solar services due to my salary, but everything worked out.
The installation process was quick. The team was very neat and cleaned up after themselves. They also took the time to show me how everything worked.
Since the installation, Sunrun's support has been very responsive whenever I have technical or other concerns. I have noticed a decrease in my Edison bill too. Usually, I would get a credit every month then they would charge me an annual fee, but this year, they started charging me a monthly fee.
Overall, I would rate my experience with Sunrun as a 5. I would certainly recommend them to friends and family as a trustworthy company that responds well to customer needs. I have no complaints.

This year, the energy production seems to be way ahead. When Sunrun came out, they tuned something up. But it's been a much more favorable experience this year. I wish I knew what was so bad last year that has somehow been rectified because I had a horrible true-up. We had a $1,400 true-up this past May and that's exorbitant and never could get to the bottom of that. I couldn't get anybody else to give me a very good reason either. But hopefully, that will not be the issue this coming May.

I switched to Sunrun for solar energy, and I've noticed a significant decrease in my bill, which has been a great benefit. The installation team did an excellent job, and I even had the solar panels temporarily removed and reinstalled due to needing a new roof. Although COVID caused some delays, it was not the team's fault.
Everything else has worked well, including the transition and the apps, which are functioning fine. I firmly believe that going solar is worth it.
Regarding their services, I would give Sunrun top marks because they deserve it. Their customer service is excellent. Moreover, I find their online platform and app easy to navigate and use. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience, and I would highly recommend going solar with Sunrun.

Sunrun was a referral from my son. I was impressed by the information he provided and the conversation I had with the company's representative. The sign-up process was comfortable, with no high-pressure sales tactics, and the customer service was excellent.
The installation of the solar panels went smoothly, but there was a delay due to permitting issues that arose during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly with the city and Edison, which delayed the process by about eight months.
Since going solar with Sunrun, I've been very pleased. I'm saving money, which is the bottom line for me. I track my solar production and savings through my Edison bill and the Sunrun app. Since the installation, I haven't been paying anything significant on my electric bill, apart from the typical small Edison charge.
I've shared with my neighbors that they're missing out because I essentially have no electric bill. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with Sunrun, giving them top marks for customer service, the quality of service received, pricing, sales and marketing, and their online tools.

I discovered Sunrun on the internet while researching solar energy options. I wanted to take advantage of solar energy and benefit from the tax credits available. My experience signing up with Sunrun was positive. The team was professional and delivered what they promised. The process, from the initial consultation to the project completion, went as expected, although it took a bit longer due to weather conditions. However, everything was completed as explained.
Since the installation, I've noticed a significant difference in our electric bill, which is now nothing. I would rate Sunrun highly and I have shared positive experiences about them when somebody asked me who I use.

I had an existing contract with Sunrun on my house when I purchased it that was not covering my energy usage. They conducted a 'solar study' to determine how to better equip the home and advised adding solar panels and batteries. In their proposal, they listed the "Updated Monthly Payment" would be $2XX and promised the panels would provide over 100% of our energy usage. A few months later, my husband and I discovered they had misled us, and the $2XX was IN ADDITION to the bill we were already paying. This was never stated or agreed upon in the sales process. I would never have agreed to this amount, as even with 100% coverage it would not be worthwhile financially. Despite the fact that they confirmed their salesperson never explained a separate bill to us, they would not return to the original promised payment and have continued to insist we pay two separate bills for a single system.
In addition, their promise of 100% coverage has never materialized. We continue to pay for our energy usage out of pocket, which we were promised would not happen. We have not increased the amount of usage per month, yet we have yet to see even close to their promised energy be returned to us. We have tried repeatedly to resolve our conflict, but their customer service simply passes us on from one representative to the next. At least 2 employees we have interacted with in the last 6 months no longer work there. There is no accountability for the misinformation and deception, or for them to fulfill their promised coverage. This is a deceptive company with business practices that violate the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act. They should be not be allowed to continue lying to and misleading customers.

Done with this company! I called to see about getting a solar lease for our farm property. I let the customer service representative know that we are a rural property with a mobile home and there was another home on the property and needed a ground unit to service both homes. She told me that would be no problem, found our property, and scheduled an appointment with a field agent to come out for a consultation.
I received text messages from the field agent the day before that he would be arriving at 9am. On the day of our consultation, the agent did not show up at 9am. At 10am I text him and asked if we were still meeting since he was an hour late. He text me back at 10:30 to confirm our address and if we were in a mobile home. When I replied that he had the correct information he responded, "I see. I'm sorry but we can't install solar systems on mobile homes". So now I'll be taking my business elsewhere since your agents can't have the courtesy to be prepared for their appointments or inform customers when they are running late.

Overly agressive salesmen who repeatedly visit my home after I communicted that I was not interested. At first, I was interested following the first initial sale representative visited my home. However, after an extensive review, I found that the cons outweighed the pros in terms of long term financial savings. The following sales representatives continued to be overly aggressive, so I opted to not invest in solar.

The system does what it is supposed to do but the customer service is almost non existent. As designed, one has to call many times, get transferred several times, be put on hold, talk to multiple people before they tell you a work order needs to be processed and someone will call back. Then they do not. This has happened several times until finally, an appt has been scheduled, three and a half months after I started calling. (They did send someone out a month after I started. He was the wrong person. I had to start over with the process.) The person who ultimately self identified as a manager had no people skills, no problem solving skills, and no skills in dealing with unsatisfied customers.

I have placed multiple calls to the service group for an issue with the solar system caused by a power surge. They refused to schedule anything until they 'monitored' it for 24 hours, even though I explained the power surge and that it had damaged my AC, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Oven, and Pool Pump. The only person monitoring this situation was me because no one from SunRun followed up, so I called back to initiate the service call. This set the scene for the next two weeks of me having to initiate every contact with no return contact from the Case Manager after having left two messages and one conversation directly with her where she stated she would research and get back to me.
After that, I called to speak with a manager. After holding for 30 minutes and having no manager, the agent asked to take my name and number so that a manager could call me back—no phone call from the manager either. Once can be overlooked, but at this point, it is obviously a very poorly managed help group with little care for the customer. I guess they already have my money, so why should they bother with service, at least that's how it's coming across.

I decided to switch to solar energy due to the rising cost of oil. My experience with Sunrun has been very positive. I have a great exposure on the side of my house, which provides excellent solar potential without facing the street. I had recently put on a new roof and already had a Mitsubishi split system in place, so going solar made sense.
Sunrun has made things more affordable for me. I was particularly impressed with their salesperson, who was extremely patient. Overall, I find Sunrun to be a good company.

I've had Sunrun solar panels for several years, and my experience with their customer service has generally been positive. However, I've faced significant issues regarding the capacity of the solar panels installed. Initially, I was informed that the panels would be sufficient to meet my energy needs, which included plans for charging two Teslas and operating a hot tub. For the first few years, I didn't have to pay for electricity, which was great.
But recently, I've noticed a substantial increase in my electric bills, reaching up to $2,000 a year. This forced me to stop charging my Tesla and give up my hot tub just to break even. I am disappointed because I had made it clear to Sunrun that my usage would involve charging Teslas and keeping a hot tub, yet the panels did not meet these needs over time.
I wanted to add more panels to increase my system's capacity, but I've been unable to do so without breaking the existing contract. Sunrun's team has always been courteous, but the inability to expand my panel setup and the increased electricity costs due to changes in utility company pricing have left me very dissatisfied. I am considering alternative energy solutions, as I am compelled to find a way to better meet my energy needs while staying environmentally friendly. While I highly rate Sunrun's customer service, the effectiveness and capacity of the product to meet the promised energy output are lacking.

My original contract was with Vivint Solar, but in the process of getting my system installed and up and running, they were bought out by Sunrun. I cannot tell you if I am in a lease or a PPA cause the terms of my contract are not clearly defined. I know at some point soon I'll have the option to buy. Anyway. My panels and system went in around summer of 2019, the system sat unusable for 3 years, Finally, after having to contact them multiple times, and this was well after the acquisition of Vivint solar, we finally got a case manager to work with us and our system went live September of 2023.
The second they flipped the switch my usage doubled and in some months tripled. From June to Aug this was my usage on my DWP bill.... 2022 - 3078 KWH 2023 - 3167KWH (this was the first bill from DWP after turning the system on and 0 went back into the grid and DWP doesn't account for the solar production so I used what I produced plus the 3167 from the grid) 2024 - 5071 KWH. I did the math on what I produced, which was 2252 for that exact billing period, so I apparently used 7323 KWH in a 61 day billing cycle. The last time I used that much energy, I had my 32 foot travel trailer plugged in with somebody living in it and blasting the AC 24/7 which I got rid of the guest and the trailer prior to the system being flipped on. Funny how if you subtract instead of add those 2 numbers, you get closer to what my average usage was before the system was turned on.
Over the 3 years that I have outlined, none of may habits changed. I still work from home, my family is still the same size, just a little older, and the same appliances are running about the same rate. (Minus an air fryer that broke so that would be a negative anyway). I am getting a meter of my own and will be monitoring the household usage myself to add to my mountain of evidence against LADWP and Sunrun. Furthermore, I noticed that on days that my Production is low, my overall usage is low as well. On days that my production is high, My usage skyrockets, so there is never a time where my usage is low and my production is high enough to go into the grid and give me any credit in my "Bank", Even when I go out of town for a week and nobody is home, I see the same trend on the graphs in the App.
If you are thinking about getting a battery back up know that it is exactly that, just backup in the case of a grid failure. Most solar systems, the battery is used to store excess Solar Energy that is produced but not used, and then use the excess energy when the panels are not producing energy like the night time hours, or to supplement during peak usage when your panels can not keep up with demand.. What sunrun doesn't directly tell you upon agreeing to the battery and paying for it, is that they program the battery to stop doing that for 6 months out of the year, so from October to, I think, April the battery is just back up and will not supplement anything and for the summer it is programed to only provide extra power during peak usage hours, and only on weekdays, but not night time hours. I am very curious about why they program the battery that way.
The Case manger could not answer my inquiries. It does seem the way they design the system is so that you will, no matter what, have an grid supplier electric bill plus have to pay their monthly rates and never have I seen any savings that were promised me on day 1. When making the decision to go solar, please make sure you have a grasp on how a Solar system works, and ask lots of questions to what ever company is installing them, challenging the set-up and make them explain themselves.

My experience with Sunrun has been fantastic. I first heard about them informally through a family friend discussing solar panels. Later, when I received a call from Sunrun, I realized it was the same company my friend was talking about.
Since installing the solar panels, I've noticed significant savings on my electricity bills compared to my neighbors, which has been wonderful. The installation process was smooth; the team was punctual, efficient, and unobtrusive. It was impressive not even noticing they were there during the installation.
One suggestion I have for Sunrun is to find a solution for when the power goes out. Currently, because we're still connected to the grid, even with solar panels, if there's a grid outage, our power also goes out. The way it was explained to me when I first got the panel was Texas doesn't let people disconnect from the grid. They have to be connected still by law. They don't want the electricity coming back towards the grid in case of a power worker having to work on one of the lines when something's down. It would be great to have a workaround that allows us to still have power at home during outages. That way, I can brag to all my neighbors, "Your power went out, but I still have my mine." Additionally, Sunrun offers battery packs, which I think would be a fantastic addition. However, the cost is a bit high—I recall it being around $5,000. Even though it was gonna be on a payment plan, I didn't want want my light bill doubled to put in a battery pack.
Overall, my biggest satisfaction with Sunrun is the cost savings on energy, and I often find myself bragging about it when discussing electricity bills with others. I'd recommend Sunrun to others, especially for the financial benefits.

Terrific installation of our rooftop solar panels and worked well for a while. However, over the last 180 days the system has not worked 1/3rd of the time. The SunRun app shows the system working but it is creating no energy. The contract says they're monitoring our system, but after 30 days we heard no notification from them. More recently it was not producing energy for 2 weeks and there was no notification. Also, to get a tech out you have to wait 30 days - and they sometimes cancel without telling you. The support staff seems to be good, but they cannot keep our system running and they do not appear to effectively monitor our solar panels. Do not use SunRun - CostCo should drop them immediately.

I recently purchased a house that already had Sunrun solar panels installed, so that's how I came to use their services. While my interactions with Sunrun have been minimal, primarily limited to signing over paperwork, I have found their customer service can sometimes be difficult to reach. Despite this, my overall experience has been fairly decent.
In terms of performance, the solar system has been functioning well, although I'm not sure if it will cover the entirety of our electric bill, which is somewhat disappointing. Since we've only been in the house for less than a year, and we weren't involved in the original installation, I can't speak to that aspect.
What I appreciate most about Sunrun is that the cost of their service doesn't seem to be increasing as rapidly as I anticipate our energy bills might. If I were to recommend Sunrun to friends or family, I'd rate my experience a 3.75 out of 5.

This company preys on the elderly and their lack of knowledge around solar. They eat up state and federal tax credits in the process and depend on this corporate welfare to sustain their business. All employees are poorly trained and they will not honor the terms of the contract nor maintain their poorly installed equipment.

I first heard about Sunrun quite a while ago, likely through a referral from a friend. We chose them because they presented a plan that made sense to us. We didn't check with many other companies. The installation process was impacted by regulatory agencies in Burlington, which caused some delays, but it wasn't their fault. Overall, we've had three different installations for different parts of our building. We just added two more after we did the first one on our home.
In terms of our electrical bill, there has been a difference. However, one of the installations is not performing as well as the others, which we're planning to address with our electric company and Sunrun. I would tell friends that Sunrun is a good company and they always try to fulfill their promises. I would encourage others to consider them.
I would rate my overall experience with Sunrun as five stars, and I rate their customer service and quality of service as four stars. The price I paid for their services is a five-star rating in my opinion. While we have the capability to monitor our systems online, it's not very important to me, but there's nothing wrong with it. I rate the convenience of being able to monitor the system as four stars.

I had declined their services for several years, but a very knowledgeable and personable representative eventually convinced me. My experience in switching to Sunrun has been excellent, with no issues or problems. I am very happy with everything Sunrun has provided.
