    I bought a home with a Sunrun system in Arizona last summer. It made power until the 9th of September when it stopped. I am writing this review in February of 2026 and my system is still not functioning. I contacted them when it went down and they came out about a month later and said it would take 3 months to get the parts. (Coming from Mars?). It's now February and I have not heard anything for a month and it still doesn't work. 5 months is a problem. I have been paying my monthly lease payments as required. $600.00 for nothing. This can't continue.

    I heard of Sunrun when they asked me about having the roof done and said my gas bill will be lower. I did it and in the beginning, it was fine, but now, I'm dissatisfied. When I get my PSE&G bill, everything is on there and in the last two months, I paid 500 and something dollars. I wanted to find out why it went up so high, so I called the office for the guy I spoke to and left messages, but he never got back to me.

    I’ve called and the phone just rang and rang. The office said, “Okay. We’ll connect you with whomever.” They do that two or three times, and no one ever comes. I wound up hanging up because I was waiting for 15 minutes for someone to pick up. I have Sunrun and then PSE&G for the gas, and it's too expensive. Still, I would never share anything bad about Sunrun to anyone. I’ve introduced my daughter to Sunrun, and she got it as well. Hers went up but not mine.

    Sunrun is the WORST company EVER! For your own sanity, NEVER go with them. They deceive you into signing a 25-year contract. Then, you will be paying them AND your other regular electricity company. They are so bad. I have been asking them for months and months (since June 2025) to get the system going and fix this situation, and they never get back to you or follow up with a real solution. Going with Sunrun is the WORST decision I have ever made.

    Stuff will break and you won't know it. If the system is still collecting, there's no way of knowing which part of how many is actually collecting. I got a faulty optimizer that I didn't know about until my roof was looked at. Heck it might not even have been there in the first place as a cord is missing (picture won't upload). The contractor they sent was convinced I had a 15 panel system until I showed him the agreement that I paid for 16. They'll still charge you, but you'll get the 600$ bill two weeks before it's due and no they won't change the date because it's already over the 30 days, 'cause they sat on it for a month. Don't buy it. At some point your parts will just break and you won't know it until you need to get a roof repaired, then they'll rush you for the bill.

    The company was good to get a sales rep out and to get the install completed, but the quality of work was extremely poor, and the service after has been unacceptable. The team came out with no plan, they drilled a bunch of mounting holes in the roof then realized they were putting the panels in the wrong place. They slapped some tar on the holes and spray painted the area and called it good. They then drilled holes for the batteries on the side of the house in the wrong location and then smeared some stucco over the holes, not even covering them up properly, and left them at that.

    I think they got more stucco on the concrete than they did over the holes. They left a mess after they left that I had to clean up. I have reached out to try and get help, but the customer service is just as poor. It's been over two and a half months, and they still have not come out to address the issues. I had tried to get a hold of someone in management, but they will not let anything get through to them.

    This firm told me not only I save on my electricity bill but also Edison will provide me up to 1500.00 credit per year, the salesman told me he installed 10 percent more electric production that I normally use so I be sure I am OK during hot seasons here in California. As they connected their equipment, my garage door stopped working, my a/c stopped working, my stereo burnt, and my pool stopped working. No credit from Edison either and I was charged 2500.00 by Edison. They are lying about their system. Nevertheless I can't get any help from them afterward to resolve the issue.

    I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with Sunrun. All sounds good until it’s not. We never had a leak in our roof until solar panels were installed. Company refused to take ownership of the leaks. From the outset, the system was misrepresented by the salesperson. I was led to believe the solar installation would significantly reduce my electricity costs. Instead, I found myself paying both my regular utility bill and the Sunrun Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which was not clearly explained at the time of sale.

    I was also told that if I ever needed roof repairs or work done, Sunrun would remove and reinstall the solar system for a reasonable fee. I later learned this was inaccurate. Sunrun now wants to charge approximately $7,000 for removal and reinstallation, or $600–$700 in inspection fees if I use my own contractor—despite the fact that city inspectors already perform all required inspections.

    I lived in this home for over 20 years without any roof issues. Shortly after the solar panels were installed, my roof began leaking. Sunrun sent technicians who applied silicone around the panel bases and roof tiles, then claimed my roof was “too old” and denied responsibility. If my roof was truly unsuitable, it should not have passed their inspection or been approved for installation in the first place. After six years with the system, I contacted Sunrun to request a quote to purchase it outright. I was verbally quoted $23,000 plus tax but never received the quote in writing. When I followed up, I was given a new quote of $31,000 plus tax. When questioned, I was told the original representative had made a mistake.

    Overall, my experience with Sunrun has been very disappointing. I regret having done business with such a repulsive company. If you are considering Sunrun, make sure everything is clearly documented in writing. What began as a hopeful investment in clean energy has turned into a costly nightmare and frustrating experience. This is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE COMPANY. I would only recommend them to my worst enemy.

    When I signed up with this company I was told I could have it removed at no cost if I decided later to cancel. They didn't mention a 25 year contract either. I wouldn't have signed up for it. They are misleading people to get a sale. Based on other reviews I'm not the only one they lied to.

    I can only comment on my project so far, and I have not gone through any billing cycles yet, so any other feedback about usage and billing would be premature, but I can say that so far (in the installation phase), I have been extremely impressed. My installation moved quickly and effectively from design, through permitting, and into final construction quickly and effectively. The team did outstanding work with the installation. It was comprehensive, neat, and aesthetically better than I had expected. I felt like they were working as if it were their own home. Everyone on the team was thoughtful and communicated effectively.

    I have experienced such shoddy work and program management from so many quarters these days that to work with a company like Sunrun, which is competent and helpful, was actually a joy.     Sunrun had already installed the solar panels as part of the builder’s setup when I purchased my home and the system was already in place when I moved in. But my purchase only allowed for the house itself, so the solar panels are rented to me by Sunrun, which is fine. They just bill me for the solar service. There’s a meter installed in my house to track what I’m producing and it seems like I’m still paying quite a bit for my solar.

    There’s not a lot of communication with Sunrun but when it comes to solar power, they're there. One time, the system wasn't producing a lot because there was something wrong with the Wi-Fi sensor that was not throwing any information to them or to mine. Their people came out right away and they were the ones who told me that there was something wrong with the communication between the solar sensors. They said they would fix it and get me back online, which was good. Having the solar system is a new experience for me and so far, Sunrun has taken care of everything. I would recommend them. It’s okay if people want Sunrun to do the services. They render.

    Our experience with Sunrun has been great. It's working very well. Our decision to go with solar was based on the fact that we're gonna stay in the house. We're retired. I wanted to minimize the ongoing costs every month and it's been a good way to do that. The installation went great. They put 32 panels on the roof, two Tesla, two batteries, and new electrical panels. It works well and we haven't had any problems with it. They've been out twice. Their system identified a malfunction, which we didn't notice. But it seemed to be working fine. Operation's been fine. It's a money saver compared to the cost of electricity from PG&E.

    The installation of our Sunrun was great. I had to have a new roof put on, so they came and removed it. When it was time to come back, they came and put it and started it back. However, I thought my price was supposed to stay, not go up. Because it started off with 111, and then it was 114. Now it's 118. The rep was telling me that it would save all my energy, but I don't see that. I was thinking about having it removed because it's doing the same thing. Now my electric went up, so I'll see next month how it goes.

    We were pressured into buying solar panels with this company with promises that were not fulfilled. We had to get a new roof several years after installing the panels and the removal and reinstallation was a nightmare. The incompetence of the techs was insane. They damaged our new roof and installed the panels incorrectly. Sunrun refused to take accountability and make things right. It also took them 9 months to reinstall them, meanwhile we're paying for huge electric bills. Many phone calls and emails and still was ignored and not resolved. Refusing to pay the invoice they sent me, it's now in collections...like they haven't already done enough damage... I highly don't recommend Sunrun...do your research.

    Very poor customer service. The system that was installed on my home has not produced any electricity, yet I am being billed. When I called customer service, the interaction was bad. The customer service representative was rude and dismissive. And according to her, the Freedom Forever representative lied to me about being able to end the lease at any time.

    I had a very shocking experience with Sunrun due to misleading sales practices. While I acknowledge that I should have reviewed the contract more carefully before signing, I relied on clear verbal assurances from Sunrun’s sales representative, Eli **. I was explicitly told that my electricity rate would never exceed 10 cents per kWh and that my monthly payment would be capped at $210 for the life of the contract. If I use less electricity I will be charge according to 10 cents per kWh. Based on these promises, I signed the agreement electronically in good faith.

    After reviewing the actual contract, I discovered that these assurances were complete false. The contract requires a fixed $210 monthly payment plus utility company bill, for the first year regardless of usage and includes an annual 2.99% escalation. Over time, this could raise my payment to approximately $450 per month (even if I use less electricity) far beyond what was promised verbally. The written terms directly contradict what I was told during the sales process.

    Although I take responsibility for not scrutinizing every detail before signing, this is a long-term financial commitment, and such discrepancies are unacceptable. Verbal promises that materially influence a customer’s decision should match the written contract. In my case, they did not. As a result, I am now stuck with a contract that has significantly affected my finances and has even made it extremely difficult for me to sell my home.

    All sounds good until it’s not. We never had a leak in our roof until solar panels installed. Company refused to take ownership of the leaks. Charged us $14,000 to remove and reinstall panels in addition for paying for a new roof. These are the things they don’t tell you. You must use their company to remove panels or it voids your warranty.

    I have Sunrun and I never have any credits from the warmer months to offset the high electric bills in the winter. Sunrun calls to perform a random system check and pretends to care and they claim they will review your electric bills and contact the electric company, but they don't. What they do is attempt to run your credit and then try to convince you that you need more solar panels...Ridiculous.

    Found out that their solar panels were not producing as they were saying compared to the electric company took them to court. They never showed up. They lost the case. They had 30 days to appeal it. Which they didn't. And now they owe us money. And we cannot find out who to contact to get paid. We have served them court papers but they do not come to court. We are dealing with lawyers right now. Trying to get the money that they owe us. Do not buy solar panels from this company. They are a total rip-off.

    Our house is all electric and our energy bills were becoming outrageous through BGE. We decided to go solar with Sunrun. Initially, everything was fine- installation, customer service, billing. About 1-2 years into our contract, we didn't get bills and the auto payment was no longer active. I tried to contact SunRun without success. When I got a collection notice, I was told SunRun was no longer in business and new company took over. I asked for the new company's info, the collection company did not have it and I was told they would contact me. I never got information for the new company, not an account # or place to send payments.

    My contract clearly ended and BGE took over billing. Recently, I rec'd a random call from a #, who claimed they were SunRun and the CSR was calling to see how our service was doing???? I explained my situation and asked if SunRun was back in business, the guy said, "oh, ok, thanks" and hung up. I would love to restart solar since my electric bill is totally outrageous. Who do we contact?

    My sister-in-law had gotten Sunrun and she told me I should get it as well. At the time, we were paying $500 a month for electricity and it was gonna be going up to $700. We had to look for something that could save us money and that was when we started with Sunrun. Our experience with them has been very easy, including paying bills online. They send me a statement, or I can go into their app. It will tell me how much energy I got that day or that month.

    My electric bill is less. We build a credit during the summer months, but in the winter, we need to use it. Sometimes in the winter months we have to pay a bill because we've run out of credit. The only thing is I didn't pay attention to the contract and didn't realize that I have to pay this for as long as I'm in my house. That would be my one complaint.

    I had been considering solar energy for some time. Then one day, going through a trade show, I asked them to come by and at least give me a quote. They did come and we went through all the different options and talked to different companies. Sunrun was the company that offered the agreement. And ultimately, I felt it was the better way to go, because my electric bills were north of 500 a month.

    The power purchase agreement is the best thing in the world because you don't have to put any money down. You're basically leasing them for 25 years. But the price of leasing is half of what my electric bill was three years ago. So, it was well worth it. It's a bigger house and I have not had a bill since.

    I put a second solar system on one of my rental properties and just went to Sunrun directly. However, it doesn’t cover 100% of the tenants' expenses so I asked about upgrading the system. It took me a year and a half to get a response, only to be told Rhode Island doesn't allow a modification to the system, which I don't know if that's true or not. They are slow to respond and the staff must turn over constantly because I never seem to talk to the same person twice. Even when I have the direct number, it's frequently disconnected the next time I call.

    But as a whole, my experience with Sunrun was very good and I would highly recommend it.

    Sunrun exceeded my expectations. When they did the survey, they put the panels where they felt that they would get the most energy. In between the time that they did the survey and the time that they came out to do the installation, my neighbor's tree had lost a large portion. They moved nine panels from the north side to the south side, and did all the engineering right there on the site and changed the installation, which upped my production considerably.

    My energy bill is stabilized. I don't have to pay during the summer a couple of hundred dollars a month. During the wintertime, it's even less. It pays my energy bill. I just wish that the government would leave their paws off of solar. They seem to stack the deck against people here in California. "We want green energy," but they make it almost impossible for people to invest in it. They keep changing the net agreement.

    The cost of electricity in Marin County through PG&E is excessive and I needed some way to mitigate the cost of living. I added solar, and I have no regrets about choosing Sunrun as my alternative electricity provider. The panels seem to be very efficient. Sunrun sent out a crew, and they did the whole system fairly quickly. The only problem was PG&E, the city and the county getting an inspector out here to approve the installation. When they came, they approved it in their first term. Overall, the system is cheaper than just using PG&E as my sole provider for electricity. Based on people’s location and energy use, they should consider using Sunrun.

    I told Sunrun I wanted black frame panels and they did not give me that. The HOA was very upset and almost had it taken off the roof. They let me keep it because there's a tree in front of my house. The installation was mixed up, too. Sunrun wanted to put 36 panels on my roof. Since I was paying it outright, I wanted 30, which delayed things by three months. It would have been more money for them. I'm the only person in this house. It just didn't make sense.

    My energy bills are very low except for the months of February, March, and April because I use up all my credits. So last year, I got a bill for $600 for a month and then I had 400, and then I had 300, and then it went down to $30 a month. It equals out, but that was very surprising to me. Sunrun is a great company and except for the initial issue, the whole experience was comfortable.

    We had been thinking about solar for a while. My husband had one of the first solar houses in the area years ago, and we were interested in it, but we needed to replace our roof before it happened. When we replaced the roof, there were several companies that went door-to-door and asked if we were interested in solar. We happened upon this one gentleman who hit us at the right time, and he was a rep from Sunrun. He gave a better pitch than some of the other ones we heard.

    While we weren't in the market to purchase, we decided to rent. It was all done based on what our energy needs were. Sunrun looked at our last two years of electric bills and looked at what we needed. Sunrun came out and measured sun direction. It was very scientific. They came up with a number of panels. After the summer was over, we had close to $1,000 of credits. We're working our way through those because we don't have as much electricity being generated. We're in the winter. But the experience itself has been very positive. I haven't paid an electric bill in close to two years. My sister contacted our salesperson when they were in the market, and they're Sunrun's customers now.

    I've heard that Duke Energy doubled their prices in the past couple of years. They've been jumping 18% every 6 months or so before that, so I'm glad I switched to solar with Sunrun because I can't afford that. I told the installers to put some extra panels because I didn't wanna owe anything to Duke Energy. But they turned around and got the government to let them collect $30 a month from everybody who has solar panels. I have to pay the $30 I save to stay on the grid. I still have to pay $33.88 every month to Duke Energy. And if I need any power, they don't take it out of there. I said all the excess, because it was $12.50 when you were residential with the power, but you go solar and it's $30. I asked, “How about the overage? Is that put up towards that when I need electricity?” They said no.

    I had the system for a year and I didn't have kilowatts created for three months. I don't know if the battery died or two panels went berserk. That ate up all the money I put into the grid and it cost me a few hundred dollars of power because of that. It was $172 which should have been a couple of hundreds worth for my power bills I've had with Duke Energy, and I had to pay the $114.70 a month for the panels besides. There's no way of my knowing that there was a problem because all the law is to not touch the controls. Duke Energy has that backup. Duke Energy controls you too, even though you are on solar panels. You pay for them, but you have almost no rights. It's the weirdest thing. But I've done well switching.

    Sunrun had an offer where I could get two Tesla batteries on a lease, and I did that, though age-wise, it wasn't the smartest thing for me to do. The solar system has saved me a lot of money, but it costs me money each month as well. And I haven't had any solar generation for a month until yesterday. I have a Tesla app that shows what I produce daily and how my batteries charge. I run Tesla batteries all night and never pull off the grid. My electrical bill went down to nothing most of the time. But PG&E now pays about eight cents on the dollar from what you get versus what they charge you.

    It’s important to get batteries if you are going to get solar. If not, you're sending the electricity for eight cents on the dollar all day long, and then charging all night long because you don't have any backup. My two Tesla batteries power my house all summer long. The only time I use electricity is when it’s raining, cloudy or overcast. The only way solar is worth it is if you have battery backup. When the power goes out, the system is seamless when it flips over. I don't even know I have an outage until I get a text from PG&E saying there's one. My lights are still lit at night, even though over half the house just has solar.

    I would recommend going solar to anybody. Having Sunrun, I'm saving big on my electricity. For three or four months during the summer, when I had my air conditioning on, I didn't pay anything. As a matter of fact, they owed me money as I had credits. I had a technical problem, and with the exception that it took them a while to get the part and get somebody out here to fix it, they were good. It didn't affect the service. I just couldn't view it. It wasn't communicating.

    I'm very happy with Sunrun. I have central air now and the panels are working for what they are. I wish I was in Florida like my son, who runs every day and saves him a tremendous amount of money. You have to expect that during the winter when the sun is not out a lot, the panels are not gonna produce a lot. But I use less electricity in the winter as I have a gas furnace.

    I was shopping at Costco and met one of Sunrun's reps there. One of my buddies got Sunrun as well, and he let me know about it. Having Sunrun, I don't pay anything for my electrical bill. Before the panels, I was paying $180 to $200. Now, I just pay the $100 fee every month to Sunrun. They've been great. Every employee that's been helping me with the solar panels has been excellent.

    Sunrun chose the amount of panels that got installed based off the voltage, and the performance has been excellent as well. They had me download an app and that's how I track everything, even billing as well. I've been recommending Sunrun ever since I got with them.     A Sunrun rep came out with his little robot helicopter, scanned the buildings and figured out I needed 12 panels installed. There are some on my garage roof and some on the house roof. However, I would like to have more of them on my garage. They got them on the south side roof and a neighbor down the street got his put in the same day. He has a small house and he has panels on the south side of his house roof and some on the north side also because he has no trees shading it. There are no trees shading my garage and I wondered why I couldn't get more panels on the north side.

    Other than that, Sunrun is saving me money so I'm 100% happy with it. I'm paying between $85 to $95 a month on my electric bill. I've talked to my neighbor and she's never done anything, but I suggested she get them. Anybody that I talk to wants to talk about the panels, and I mention Sunrun and recommend it.

    I had a friend who had installed Sunrun already and they recommended them to me. I signed up as well and I had an excellent experience with the salesperson, all the way through to the installation team. We had just gotten a new roof and the panels were all black, so they blended in pretty well. The panels were supposed to cover 100% of our energy costs. That was one of the reasons I went ahead with it. However, they're underperforming.

    I've had it over two years now and both years, they did not meet the 100% coverage that I was expecting. Sunrun has not contacted me regarding that at all and it would have been nice if they called me. In spite of that, the app is adequate. It allows me to check daily, weekly, monthly and yearly numbers. I've already recommended them to two other friends that have installed it already. Sunrun is a good company to work with. Just make sure they can come through with their promise of 100% coverage.

    Sunrun was upfront. There was no high pressure. Also, setting up our solar was easy. Dealing with the city of West Dundee's regulations was more of a problem than anything to Sunrun because some of them were ridiculous. When the sun is shining, our electric bill was just the basic fees that we have no choice to pay. When we had the snow on it, we had a little sell back. The biggest difference was the change of the laws in Illinois after we installed it. That had an impact on how much our bills were, but not major. I'm very satisfied with our system. It's a lease program, so that makes it easy and affordable.

    Someone from Sunrun came in the area and spoke to my husband. They showed him how the service would work and he was interested in that. We signed up and everything's running good so far.     A friend of ours was able to get Sunrun at his house. When we happened to be over at the house, he was explaining it to us. We were looking at it, trying to work as much as we can to try to save energy. The good part about it is at the time when we did it, there was a $1,000 Visa card for us if we referred someone after we had ours put in. We did, and we got that card. Our friends got the card, too. We've had the panels for a while and we definitely saved on our electricity. We leased the panels and that worked out best for us. Our bills went down substantially.

    We just moved, so we no longer have that house and I don't have Sunrun at my new house. But we have it on two of our rentals. I can just go on the app, and I could see what's producing day by day. I can also get it by the week. Sunrun is a good company to work with. Everybody was excellent and any problems we had were all taken care of. The guy that took care of us was very good.

    I interviewed four companies and then went with Sunrun. I also talked to a couple of friends and different people who had them. I probably drove the representative nuts because they had a bunch of questions which I also asked him. But our interaction was positive. I've had a generator for a few years, and I just got the panels to knock down my electric bill. My system has performed as advertised. And when I get my monthly bill from Eversource, it has those three words that I like, "No payment due." The only regret I have is I didn't do it sooner.

    The reps from Sunrun came in and looked at my utility bills, and they found out the savings that I would be getting. The process took a while and I told them I would be moving this year so I’m renting my solar panels. The installation was easy and the installers did what they were supposed to do. The solar system is working and saving me money. Even when I have to pay, it’s a very small amount.

    I'm happy with the system. The only thing I don’t care for, and it probably stopped now, is that I used to get a knock on my door about the system. I have a no-solicitation sign on my door, and I was getting visits from reps checking on the system. But other than that, everything is nice. I can run my air conditioner all summer long and I don't have to worry about a bill, which is a big thing since I’m going through a pre-menopausal stage. Sunrun is a good investment and even if people can’t afford to get it, they can afford to rent it.

    I've been interested in solar for a while, but it was not cost-effective. Sunrun came around with their canvassing to the neighborhood and offered a deal that made it borderline, at the time, as being cost-effective. And with the increasing cost of electricity and our use of electrical devices or transportation, I thought it would be a good move.

    The communication initially with signing up was very easy. The only disadvantage I had was Sunrun's database did not reflect that we were already a Sunrun customer. So, for over a year, we kept getting people at the door saying, "We'd like to give you solar." Other than that, the communications with Sunrun have always been good. Anytime I've voiced a concern, I've always been easily able to get ahold of them and have been responded back to within a day. They usually find problems before I do now, which is unusual and very pleasing to me.

    When we told the engineer with Sunrun what our usage was and what we projected in the future, he came up with how many panels. We requested that he add some, and they did. The installation process was good. The guys came in with all the number of people they needed. They were up on the roof and set the panels in place and down with hardly any notice. They picked up all the junk. They hauled away all the extras. Nothing was put in our trash containers. They took it with them. They were courteous and they answered all the questions.

    Everyone who has come out to the house when they've needed to make software updates and hardware repairs have been very courteous, on time, and answered any questions I had. They've been great people. Sunrun has reduced our energy bills for electricity. That in itself, with our limited income, is great. It's good that it's one less thing to worry about.

    I got very concerned about electricity cost. So, I looked for a more reliable source without the cost going up every month. Sunrun does go up every year, but there's a limit to how much it can go up. We got 34 panels. The installation took so long, it was unbelievable. I was told the installation would be quick, but it wasn't. Sunrun kept saying the parts were not available because it was a ground mount. It took 10 months in total from signing the contract.

    The system has been performing okay. I wish I had more solar panels, but I'm happy with what I have. I'm getting concerned about the cost of it going up, and I don't know how far this is gonna go before there has to be a limit cost of solar compared to cost of electric. I wish there was more sun, and I wish there was an option with Sunrun to have a battery backup.

    I did have an issue with loss of solar. My equipment installation was faulty, and there were some cables that were loose, and APS shut me down. I didn't realize until I checked, and I have not been producing electricity. I found out after contacting Sunrun that my power was switched off for safety reasons. Also, I was told the equipment would be American. It's not. But that's okay. My electricity cost from my supplier is not as much in the summer now. I can get a credit on a good month. And I love the app. It shows me everything I need to know.

    I was wary of Sunrun due to the mountain of bad online reviews I have seen about the company. I signed up anyway and have had a ridiculous experience. the process for solar installation is very complex and requires the county, HELCO and Sunrun to coordinate. No one explains anything that is happening or about to happen; random Sunrun people show up at my house to do things that are already done and there is zero assistance from SUNRUN. I am deeply regretting having signed up with this circus.

    We went through that freeze a couple of years back when we had no power for three days. Sunrun did an assessment on the home as far as how much power we'd have if the power were off and how much battery power we needed. We got three batteries that hold power. So if the power went off, we'd still have power. The power had gone off in the neighborhood. That was close. Sunrun asked if we had power and we said yes. It was a time when the power went off, but we didn't even notice it. The battery took over supplying power to the home.

    The app on the phone shows X amount of hours. For example, I have 15 hours. If the power was off, I have 15 hours of backup. As long as the sun continues to keep power to the batteries, will they last if the power went off for that situation where we had three days with no power? Also, a lot of people can't afford the monthly payment. Our budget was tight. We pay between 450 and 500 a month on average having Sunrun and the electric service. But when we had the panels first put on the home, I had shared we were happy about having them.

    We have been extremely disappointed with Sunrun. Our solar system has been completely down since September, and despite having a warranty, there had been no repair and no representative had come out and looked at the panels! We've called countless times w/no follow-up or follow-through. Additionally, when we’ve called we were told that the failed equipment is no longer being manufactured and that we are “in line” for replacement parts, but there has been no timeline, no guarantee, and no solution provided. Our system has now been non-operational for over three months, leaving us without the solar power and paying for electricity!

    What has made this situation even more frustrating is that instead of fixing our existing system, Sunrun has repeatedly sent sales representatives to our home to try to push us into a new Power Purchase Agreement and upgraded equipment rather than honoring the warranty and repairing what we already have! Why have a warranty! The system was running great up until this point and when we needed the assistance Sun Run was nowhere to be found! This has been a very disappointing experience, and we would not recommend Sunrun based on their lack of accountability, transparency, and follow-through!

    This is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE COMPANY. I would only recommend them to my worst enemy. Their product is bad and the subcontractors are even worse. My system was failed three times before it passed inspection. Installation took over six months. And it has been down now two times in two years. One of the worst decisions I ever made was letting them on my property and I am sixty-seven years old.

    DO NOT USE SUNRUN!!!! When they installed the solar panels, they missed the joists and went through the decking instead in over 50 places, which of course, ended up leaking. Then they did take the panels down to fix the leaks. I was told 14 of the 40 weren't even working. They sent multiple 3rd party companies (they do nothing themselves) to look at the roof until they found someone who said it could be patched. I had 4 different companies look at it and everyone said it should be replaced, including 1 company, which only did patch work and they said it was too bad to patch. When SunRun did patch it, they sent out multiple 3rd party inspectors and they told me while they were here that the patches weren't done correctly. But of course, SunRun said everything looked good. When I asked to see the report from the inspectors, I was told there was none.

    They finally agreed to come back and fix the roof again, but now I have a 1-year warranty on it not leaking again. Worthless!! The patches didn't even come close to matching the original roofing in color or quality. They tell me I can buy out the panels, but at a price way higher and a quality way lower than what you could buy new. I have nothing good to say about this company, and I would advise everyone who is considering using them to look elsewhere. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! Probably the biggest financial mistake of my life, I can't wait to get out of this contract. Please don't make the same mistake I made and use this company.

    Several vendors came to my home, but I didn't like some of the options they were bringing. When Sunrun came with their provider agreement, I loved it. I didn't have to pay for installation or any maintenance. I like that they will only increase, if needed, 2%, compared to NV Energy that can go anywhere from 8 to 17% increase.

    I haven't had any problems with the panels. They're supplying all of the needs for my family. I love Sunrun's customer service. If I call, I speak with a human being. I'm not on hold for 40 hours. It's been probably one time I've called them in two and a half years. I thought I wasn't getting the kilowatts I should have been, but I was. We went into the graphic chart, and they settled that question real quick. I can use my phone with their app or go on the computer and track it.

    We're at the latter quarter of the 21st century, and solar is the way to go. This is Nevada. You're looking at at least 9.5 to 10 months of sun. Why not let it power my home? I love it in the summer. I paid my flat rate to Sunrun, which was less than $140, and my $19 for service to NV Energy just for a backup. You can't beat that.

    The Sunrun salesman I talked to, Andrew, was never forceful. His sales tactics were very mild and easy. At first, I was gonna put up my own and do it myself. I wanted my whole roof to be filled with panels. When we started talking, I decided I would go with Sunrun. In 25 years, we’ll own the panels we’re paying for now. We’re not getting an electric bill. The bill from Sunrun is a third less than what we were paying before.

    I’ve done this dozens and dozens of times. A lot of other companies come and go and go out of business, and your warranty service is gone. You gotta deal with somebody else that doesn't care. Sunrun has been around for almost 20 years. That’s all that matters to me.

    Please be aware of Sunrun Tesla backup battery scam. I just found out that my back battery were installed from fraud and misleading information. A sales rep from sunrun told me there was a government program from the palisades fire that included a rebate every year to off set the cost of the batteries. He had me sign a I pad in 2 min that included 50 pages and said my cost wpuld be lowered and paid for by the rebate. I trusted him and he never mentioned that I have to pay 189 per month and it goes up by 3% each year. Now I am retaining attorney and have turned over all documentation to the regulatory agencies. Please do not get a back up battery from tesla it will cost me 75,000 over the next 25 years. I hope to get the news outlet on this so they can stop. Taking advantages of hard working people. Please sunrun do not contact me. Your solution team back your unethical practice.

    A lot of people in the neighborhood are using Sunrun. Also, Home Depot and Costco have a representative in the store. I called from the brochure and they came over. The presentation was very positive, that's why I went for it.

    The installation went very smoothly and quick. They did it in a day and a half or so. We have 19 panels and two Tesla walls for battery backup. I've been using it every day since we installed it two years ago. We noticeably get less bills. The electricity bill went down substantially. I highly recommend Sunrun.

    I had been reading about solar online and all the advantages. There were a number of vendors that came to my door. One said someone was gonna contact me for further information. That person called me once and never followed up. But the Sunrun representative took the time to answer all of my questions. I had some different ones than the average question was. He was more than willing to speak to me, get back with me, and explain to me the whole process. I’m pretty happy I went with Sunrun.

    There are some savings going solar. It’s not as much as I had expected originally and that could be a factor of utilizing more electricity and certain seasons. However, the savings are significant if you add up the annual savings. I'm happy with that. I also like the fact that I can monitor the efficiency of the system from my iPhone, which I check on a regular basis. It tells me what the output is and it explains to me how much in a relatable way. I appreciate that as well as how Sunrun stuck to what they said that there was going to be the same fixed charge every month. I also like Sunrun’s reliability. A couple of times I was notified that there were some concerns about the system. Within a number of hours, I was updated that everything was okay. It was corrected. I enjoy and appreciate the follow-up on that as well.

    We know how much electricity costs, so were looking at going off-grid. We checked out a couple other vendors, and Sunrun had the better product for us and the better way of making it possible for us to have solar. The whole process took longer than a month because of inspections and permits with the electric company and the city, but it was done very quickly in their time frame. They kept up with us and checked on how we’re doing through a phone call or email. Overall, it worked well. We're very happy with our solar system. We've been trying to get our neighbors to do it because when our area has gone out, we're still the only ones that have electricity.

    Somebody from Sunrun called me. I googled them and they seemed to be good. Everything with installation was quick and I've been really pleased. Especially now, our electrical bill has been going up so high. I got them just in time and it's nice to know that my bills are pretty steady. It’s the happiest part of my life regarding my house. My sister has them also and she's also happy with her bills. They used to be like $800 every month and mine was $123. I definitely recommend everybody to get Sunrun. They should get them while they can.

    To start with I am a disabled retired veteran and thought this might be a good idea. The installation is as stated with one exception, the workers from Freedom Forever took four months to fix the damage they did to my closet where the power box was located and had to be move. The damage was not to extensive but holes in the wall with electrical cords exposed was not ideal. The issues are that when I signed up with the Sunrun the indication was that I wouldn't have to pay as much for electricity, well that is not the case I am now paying an Average of $130.00 a month to my old electric and current provider on top of what I pay Sunrun. The electric provider I was with before is $130.00 less than what I pay Sunrun without solar panels. Obviously not a smart financial move on my part whatsoever, apparently I am deceived and am now stuck with a long term lease and more money to pay than ever for power.

    I have emailed Sunrun two months in a row and will continue to let them know how much more I am going to have to pay forever it seems in my case and no response except one email to say they would forward my email to higher ups well no response from the higher ups. My experience is that this is a scam with deceptive practices to garner customers, worst deal I have ever made.

    SunRun Solar, Inc is trying to say my 10-year roof warranty has expired and they are not liable, after major leaks and damages were documented and then compounded when they put up unsecured tarps over a 60-foot by 22 feet of area (I have 37 panels). They secured the tarps with 4 zipties (!), and tucked the remaining tarp edges under the clay tiles on the other side of the roof ridge as well as tucking it under the clay tiles along the side of the house. They used a couple of my small 4-5 inch landscape bricks to hold seams down. You can guess what happened. The tarps broke away in high winds and rain and created even more damage, also occurring during the warranty period.

    My system became active on December 15, 2015. The leaks and damage were discovered Oct. 28th, and fully documented from November 3rd-November 22, 2025, all within the warranty timeframe. However, after ignoring any contact (a tactic they used throughout the issue) with me after November 22 for 18 days, they sent an email on December 10th informing me that my warranty was expired and they weren't responsible. The end should be December 15th (it's the 12th today), but even if they tried to weasel it to December 1st, the issue was reported and documented a full month before. Here's the story:

    On October 28, 2025, I discovered a major leak (one that had to have been brewing for many years, the plywood was completely rotted) under the solar panels, pouring through my bathroom ceiling and causing massive mold in the closet ceilings in two bedrooms on either side of it. There were minor leaks as well under the solar panels on the OTHER side of the house. I reported the leaks to Sunrun on November 3, 2025 (there was an initial contact on October 29, 2025 but she referred me to Customer Service), still within the 10-year warranty.

    The last contact I had from Sunrun (after 2 separate inspectors came weeks apart and both said it was covered under warranty (the leaks are under panels and areas where workers walked around while installing the framing) was November 20, although I sent them an a request for new tarping and an update on time frame for repairs on November 22. 18 days later, Sunrun sent me a notice that my warranty was expired and they wouldn't be covering any repairs.

    The thing is, the 10-year Warranty should end December 15. They could even try to slide it that the Warranty ended November 30th. Except all the reports, emails, photos, videos and other evidence show this was all reported or occurred October 28th through November 22nd, a full month before Warranty expiration no matter how you slice and dice it.

    I've already submitted full documentation (and I had loads of it; pix, independent inspector reports, recordings, emails, texts and other documentation up to the California Attorney General's Consumer Complaint form (For those who need it, here goes: **), hired an independent roofing inspector who already took very comprehensive photos and descriptions of the damages (since I'm sure Sunrun isn't going to share their photos or info), and have been in consults with 4 "consumer attorneys" (they do the other part of solar involving damage, not the solar lawyers who deal with installation problems) to decide which one I'm going to hire. This is the THIRD major problem I've had with Sunrun. If you are looking for solar, steer clear. If you already have them installed on your roof, pay the $150 to $300 to get a roofing inspector to check for leaks before you find out the hard way. Sunrun sucks.

    Inverters have been replaced three times now. Waiting for two months to get fourth one in a five year span to be replace. Always get false schedule times only to be rescheduled two days before promised dates. It was supposed to have been replaced on 12/5/2025. Called and was told had to reschedule for 2/2/2026. Will have my system down for five months by the time they get here. So my system is not storing produced energy so customers.

    I am very displeased with SunRun. I have been trying to settle a dispute. I have been requested to pay for the cost of solar panels that were damaged by squirrels destroying the wire on the panels. I am leasing the panels and I pay a monthly charge. The lease clearly reads that SunRun is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs for the solar panels that are owned by SunRun. I have complied by following the process in the lease to settle a dispute. SunRun has not responded to two letters of dispute.

    We installed our Sunrun solar panels about a year ago in the fall. I was excited because it’s a good way to save money, and the price was reasonable.

    Everybody from Sunrun that came by my house was professional and knew what they were doing. One guy was looking at the sun with some kind of a dial and talking in terms of shadows.

    Then he came in and was looking at all the electrical bills on the computer. He was skimming through them real quick so he had an idea of what our average electrical bill was at the time. So, he based the solar panels on that.

    They gave me a big, pleasant surprise when the solar panels went on the back side of the house. As a result, if you're driving down my street, you'd never know we had solar panels, because they're on the backside of the roof. Everybody on the street that has solar panels have them on both sides of the house, but I have them on one side, which makes me stand out. We’re very satisfied.

    Sunrun was really good and thorough in explaining the process. The installation was great and they kept me aware of what was going on and what to expect. They then told me that in a few days they would have to get authorization to run it. I then got the email. With Sunrun, there was no money up front. They just bill you every month for the panels. Unfortunately, it's gonna go up gradually every year until the next 20 years. They broke down the increase to me.

    There were changes after the system kicked in. But they didn't send me a electric bill for eight months and when they did, it was an eight-month bill. It was a lot of money. I made monthly installments to pay it off. Now we're back to date and the bill is excellent. It should stay about the same because the system draws off the energy that the sun gives to the solar panels. It's working perfectly. I get plenty of sun in the front and the back of the house where the panels are.

    My power bill is getting a little on the high side. I checked into Sunrun before. Switching to them was smooth. They came out and installed everything. It took a month or two to finally get the system going. The permits took longer for them to get going in anything.

    For the most part, my experience has been good. When I signed up, it was near winter. It started in November. It was pretty foggy here and we had storms. In the wintertime, we don’t generate a whole lot of solar. It doesn’t build up from the summer and is retained for the winter.

    Last year, the government still had everything where people were paying a True-Up bill at the end. I caught the tail end of that. Now, things have changed. You pay your bill for PG&E monthly. I have to pay PG&E usually during the winter months. But during the summer, it was doing really well.

    This past year, Sunrun decided that they were gonna try something. That was an experimental thing and it just didn’t work for me. This thing sucked up all the power that I had stored. During the summer hours, I had nothing to run my house on the evening. I called and had Sunrun stop doing that so they wouldn’t take the power that I had stored. Generally, everything is done by email. I started emailing about getting off of this little virtual thing that they had going. I dealt with the same person until the case was resolved and he actually called me back, which was nice.

    Usually, you call somebody and you get a different person each time. You explain yourself over and over. With Sunrun, one person was assigned to the case and he said he would be handling it the entire time, and that was the case. Now, the virtual thing stopped. I have a Powerwall where it stores the energy for the evening so I can use the evening and still be working off the solar rather than being billed through PG&E.

    Sunrun has the Tesla app and you can monitor the amount of solar that your panels are generating and how much you’re using. Once you get used to it, it’s not hard to figure out what’s going on. With Sunrun, my panels are on lease. I needed a converter and I had to change my power boxes and all that stuff. Anything could be cheaper. If they really want everybody to go solar, it needs to be more inexpensive.

    I wasn't interested in getting solar. I already had a smart house and figured solar was just a waste of money. But about two years ago, I was in Home Depot looking for light bulbs and the guy helping me asked if I’d ever thought about solar. I told him no. Then he said, “What if it’s free?” And so, that's how I found Sunrun and I've been happy with them ever since.

    It really was free all the way around. The system actually works better than I ever thought it would. They did everything—permits, the city, the HOA, all of it. Within a couple of weeks, everything was approved. When their crew came out, they knew exactly what they were doing and had the whole system installed in about four hours. I’ve had it for two years now and haven’t had a single problem. I live in Henderson near Las Vegas, and we’ve had record heat the last couple of years. Even with that, my electric bill with Nevada Energy is about $10 to $12 a month instead of close to $200.

    My neighbor right next to me, as soon as he saw the guys come in, he jumped right on it and I got a $1,000 rebate. I have another referral in the works, but I think they might’ve run into HOA issues. But Sunrun definitely rewards people for sending them business. A lot of my neighbors didn’t want to do it, and I never understood why. I think part of it was fear from a bad experience someone else had years ago with a different company that didn’t know what they were doing. But with Sunrun, there wasn't any problem at all. It's just the way they're organized. It couldn't be any better the way they do everything and the people that work for them. Everything's first class.

    I don’t own the system, and I didn’t want to. It’s good for 15 years, and if you sell your house, it transfers. It’s just a good deal all the way around.

    Switching to Sunrun was a little bit more confusing than just going straight to Edison. But I'm happy with the fact that I'm paying less. I'm on a fixed income and the guy I spoke with was promising a decrease in my electric bill, which I have seen. I can use all the help I can get so I took it. Since it’s being paid for out of the money that it's making, that's fine with me, as long as it helps me out.

    The installation took a while and the technicians had to come back several times. I'm not that up on installing solar systems, but maybe there should be a bit more education. I was expecting when I had a power outage, that the panels would take over but they did not. Apparently, they were too busy sending all the power they were getting to Edison. That aside, I am more than actually happy with my experience with Sunrun.

    We had some initial problems with L.A. regulations, but everything went smoothly with Sunrun after the regulations changed. I have 20 solar panels on the roof and a Powerwall. They went on standby a couple of times. And when the electricity went out in the neighborhood, we maintained power.

    Sunrun did a good job. The solar energy system does what it’s supposed to do, so we’re very pleased.

    Sunrun’s customer service sucks and they don't assist with their equipment. I lease their equipment and I asked them to put a guard on the solar panel, but they refused. They want me to pay for it. I wanna take off the solar but I couldn’t. There’s a bird underneath it. It wasn't there before until I installed solar. Sunrun knows that there's a problem in areas where you have solars and they won't put a guard or a net in there. It's their equipment, not mine.

    Another thing is the system has been good so far but we're still paying a lot of money on electricity because when I first installed this panel, I told them that I was gonna buy an electric vehicle. Now, I don't have a lower bill and my wife is complaining she’s paying $100 more. I'm paying more when I plug in my car, so what am I saving?

    The solar really didn't reduce anything because Sunrun made a deal with PG&E that the power goes to them. They give us an amount of time to get power. At night, it's not much. I only have this time for me to get the power from the battery, which sucks. If it's the power that I'm gonna have, why should I give a lot of the power to PG&E? I just got a email from them thanking me for providing them power. They're making more money now than ever before. After paying all this more money, I wouldn’t recommend Sunrun. They didn't really help me.

    Sunrun was supposed to install 13 panels and two batteries, but they're gonna charge more and I would have to pay extra. I went with them because I never needed to put up that much money and just have to lease the thing.

    I didn’t wanna pay no other cost, so they changed the plan and gave me one battery and 12 panels instead. I pay a set price, but if I overuse it, I pay a little extra to the utility company. It took some time but it's okay.

    Sunrun was the only company in my area that offered free installation. They told me what the product was and what everything was involved, but the only thing they didn't say was that they put a lien on your house, which was never explained to me from the beginning. As far as the installation, it was perfect. I've got no complaints. They did a fantastic job, it's on the roof of my house, and it's been working fine since then. I'm currently paying about $107 a month, which is cheaper than what I was paying before.

    I heard about Sunrun through one of my aunts. I shopped around and went with the cost effectiveness. It was a good experience. The sales rep went over everything and the kilowatts. One of the reasons I got Sunrun is because I have two electric vehicles, and they came with a charger.

    The install was pretty quick. The only issue was that charging situation. I had originally asked that I didn't want it inside the garage, but they ended up putting it inside. I was like, “I don't want it inside the garage.” We're building a separate room, so they had to come back and fix that and reinstall it outside.

    Right now, that charger is not really working really well. It seems to stop working at certain times, and it's very inconvenient. I have to restart the vehicle to charge. I was gonna eventually call them this week.

    To be honest, our bill's still a little bit high. We're getting charged like 240 bucks a month. It seems a little expensive. I thought I was gonna be saving a little bit more money. We don't own them, and that's a bigger thing, too. The fact that I'm gonna be paying for that for the rest of my life does not seem very smart. If I own them, I would be done paying them off. With these, I'm always gonna be paying for them, that's something that I really don't like. It just doesn't really make sense for me.

    With the problems that we were having in Chicago with ComEd, I knew the rates were gonna skyrocket. I jumped on going solar early on and locked in a good rate. I got a 2.5 increase over 25 years. Sunrun explained everything. I know that if I sold the house, I could pass the contract to the new owner. I’m leasing the panels, because if something broke them they would replace them quicker than probably someone who had purchased it. I keep telling people solar is the way to go, because it's natural energy. The fact that my system runs right now is great, but I have sort of a love-hate relationship with Sunrun.

    I have a problem with them now. I’ve been asking them to come out and look at my mother’s house for almost six or seven months. Nobody’s called and showed up. I put in referrals and never received a check. I even put in a referral to myself for myself. They never even responded to that. Someone in Sunrun told me they’ll send someone out, and that never happened. So, is Sunrun still in business?

    I had a lot of problems with my install. It took a long time to get it approved. They kept sending pictures to the middle of Utah, and they kept coming back with, “It doesn't look right.” It was a little bit laborious. The city put an outdoor electric box, and they had to come back to put it inside. The installers had to put holes in my house, tore up my basement, and broke my cedar wood closet and air conditioner line. At first, Sunrun refused to pay. I had to fight to get them to do it, and they ended up paying for all of it. But the customer experience is fine. The guys came out and put the system up.

    At first, nobody ever told me about the backup system. I put in a Tesla Powerwall. I called and referred myself when I got it, and the salesperson gave me $500 incentive card, which was pretty cool.

    Sunrun had a canvasser that was walking the neighborhood. Our neighbor had them, so we had made up our mind that it was gonna be Sunrun. The canvasser was excellent too. He was just a kid but he really knew his facts. He answered every question we had and followed up.

    As far as the installation, we're leery, but they explained everything to us. It's a two-story home, so they had to go on the roof where they would run the lines for the battery and all the electrical. The installer also showed us how to check the usage through the internet, so we were on it a couple of times.

    The installers were careful and considerate. They always asked if there would be a problem where they’re parking their vehicles or putting up the ladders. There was a problem with the roof tiles, so they hired someone to fix it. They were courteous in everything they did and did it in a timely manner. They were unbelievable, every one of them.

    We had an outage the other night and everything worked perfectly. The power just blinked, so we knew something was going on. We looked at our neighbors and all the lights were off. We have a Tesla battery and it kicked right into it. So, the battery works perfectly.

    We live on Maui, Hawaii and everything's expensive here, but we definitely save money on our electricity bill. We don't have a loan on the solar so we don't pay anything. We're really saving a lot of money, so we're extremely happy with everything. They're the best ever.

    Our subdivision was getting bombarded by different sales folks from solar companies. I told them that I didn't like the looks of the solar and I wouldn’t be interested unless they could put it on the back of the house. None of them told me they would look into it, except for Lee from Sunrun. Sunrun was the only outfit that was willing to put the panels on the back of my house.

    Lee looked at the roof, and they drew up the plan. They were gonna install about 28 or 30 panels, but after testing, we ended up needing only 24. The installation crew came, was in and out, and did a fantastic job. I had their app on my phone and iPad, and it’s very easy to use. We were producing electricity at about 115% above what we were using.

    I ended up selling the home to my cousin. Someone came to his house and was selling him solar, so he called me to ask for a recommendation. I told him about the Sunrun contract and the pros and cons. There were very few cons. I mentioned to him that one of the nice things about the deal was the 25-year contract, and if I was to ever sell the house, it could be assumed by the new owner. His wife was really interested in that and asked us if we could sell the home to them. We did, and they assumed the contract. They're happy with it.

    We wanted to lower energy costs. By the time we pay them and pay what we have to pay Sunrun, maybe it would not be as much as an electric company. That's a good price. We switched to Sunrun and that has been great. On the first little bit when they installed the system and they were supposed to start them, they didn't start them. Techs had to come out and fix that. Our electric bill was higher and Sunrun was really good about reimbursing us. We have to watch what we use during the day because we are a busy household, and we have to wait until after 8 o'clock to do laundry and wash the dishes and use the dishwasher, which is a normal thing anyway. Overall, it's been fine and we enjoy the $25 electric bill.

    I didn't have any issues switching to Sunrun. It was good. I have a Sunrun app where I monitor how it produces energy and how efficient it's operating. The installation took almost a year. From my understanding, it was obtaining permits. Sunrun is okay. In terms of the lease agreements, if you end up getting into a lease, it's hard to get out of it if you want to.

    I talked to the Sunrun guy at Costco, and he said there was no problem adding to the existing system I had. They installed 14 panels on the front of the house, which is the bad side.     We had this young lady and a gentleman from Sunrun stop in one day and talked, and we thought it over, because we had many people stopping in before, and we always didn't do anything with them. But Sunrun had a good deal so we went with them. Titan was the one that put all the solar panels and converters. They've gone bankrupt. Sunrun has taken over their warranty, which is good.

    The biggest problem I've had with Sunrun is back in April, one of our inverters went out. Sunrun came and replaced it. They had to come back because somebody didn't hook up the antenna to it. They fixed that. We were down for four months and they were gonna figure out because they guarantees performance. If you don't get 90%, whatever it is, they give you the rebate. They had it all figured out. They said they owed us 20 some hundred dollars, and they would take it off. We wouldn't have to pay for this month and this month and this month. But every time the month came, I got a bill. “You owe X amount of dollars.” I called and I said, “I have a performance rebate there of 20 some odd hundred dollars”. They always told me, “Okay.” “So what now? Do I pay this bill?” “No, because it'll just screw it all up.”

    That went by and it took two months for them to do it. Nobody from Sunrun contacts me. The only email I would get every time I talked to somebody was to ask us how the performance was. My wife does that, and she did it right along. She said, ”Fine. Not a problem.” One time before that, I called and they gave a case number, but is invalid so they didn't see it, but there's a new case number assigned to it. The rep was very helpful. I called back a month later for the new case. They figured out. “They should get back with you within 24 to 48 hours.” Nothing.

    I had to call back and find out what was going on. We had to refigure it over because the guy who did it was wrong. So now it comes through as they owe me 3,000 dollars. They paid up. What was back was a little over $1,000. For November and December, I got a bill that I was late on my November payment. My wife usually pays it early in the month. I called early to make sure we didn't owe. I talked to the rep, she wife looked it up. “I see you have that 3,000 – yes. So no, don't worry about it. Don't pay it. Don't do anything.” That was fine.

    This is the end of the month and I get a new bill on the Internet for $761.72. It's a double bill. I called, talked to the rep, and said, “I thought we had something on there. that it was gonna take care of that.” They looked it up. I talked to a girl named Tiffany on Monday morning. She said, “That's all been cleared up. You don't have any more left, so you owe for November and December.” I said, “But I called in November. They told me not to pay for November, that I was all right, so we figured -- fine.”

    We're retired and we're on a fixed income so my wife plans every month what we have to pay. So, if we didn't have to pay that, we got a couple of extra dollars. We'll buy some extra groceries, whatever. I didn't have it. So when I talked to Tiffany and I told her, "At least let them take care of November.” “I'll do what I can do. I'll call and we'll get back with you.” I've not heard anything. My wife told me, “I can go ahead and pay November's. I do have a little bit in there, and we can just get by.” She went ahead and paid it today for November. We got December's coming up and that will be paid. That's the only trouble I've ever had.

    They still owe us according to what it started out with. But according to them, they're all caught up with us. The figures didn't figure out right. I don't understand how they figure things out, but I'm tired of arguing and trying to get something. The worst part is, nobody wants to get back. And when I get everybody, I said, “Are you in the office?” “No. We work at home.” I can't understand most of them when they're on the phone because they're not English. But I go through it and try to be very polite. They would go and check. They would put me on hold whether they call the main office and find out what's going on, then give me the answers. But when they told me, “Don't worry about it. Don't pay it. It's all taken care of. You have all that reserve or that money, and that'll take care of it,” we've had to fight for it ever since they gave what they owed us. I'd have to call every month. Sometimes two times, maybe even three times in a month.

    We're very satisfied with Sunrun. It's just that one hiccup that we had to go through. Before that, I had no problem. They've done everything for us. Their communications doesn't seem to be what it should be. When I talked to this gentleman, he said, “They don't call. All they do is email.” That's fine. We'll take emails. But I never get a resolution of what is going on. Other than that, it's a great company. We've already told people about them, and that was fine.

I was dead set on not getting it because, at my age, I would have been working to pay it off for somebody else to reap the reward. But by just leasing it, I would get the benefit, too. He was able to convince me that it was worth it. The installation was all very well coordinated and went like clockwork. I left for a funeral, and they put the system in. There is an app you can go on, but I'm not very familiar with it. I call Austin. I reaped the savings on the energy for the air conditioning in the summer.     It was a great experience. We're very happy with Sunrun, and they were great getting everything installed, and the follow-up, and getting all the permits. They did everything they said they would when they said they would do it. From what we understand, there are a lot of solar companies out there that do just the opposite.The rep who came out and talked to us about everything was clear on what they would do, and what we would get and what we wouldn't. Very clear communications, and here when they said they would be.

    My husband tracks what we produce. Sunrun emails us a report every month, and he has an app on his phone where he can track things. We're saving a lot of money on energy. We pay very little to NV Energy, and there are no issues. I always hated during the summer getting those $500 energy bills. It minimizes the stress. We've told our neighbors, and they said, "We don't want to spend the money." But you're giving it away to NV Energy instead.

    Originally, I had heard about Sunrun through Costco, but they were selling them and not leasing them, so I wasn't interested in that. I started to look into some other ones, and I met the salesperson who I ultimately bought it from. When I first spoke to him, he was not with Sunrun, but he later joined them. I had been impressed with him, so I called him and he told me that he had moved to Sunrun and that he would now be selling Sunrun. He said it's a good company so we should look into it. I'm very happy with my decision to go solar. I really was very impressed with our salesman. He was excellent and he followed through very well. I have a lot of confidence in him, so that makes a big difference. He wasn't a high pressured kind of selling situation, which I preferred, to allow me to make my own choices.

    Sunrun was the first company I've pursued any further than just getting initial prices, and I was impressed with them. They were very efficient in getting everything done. There was a little confusion initially about what was gonna be included in it, and ultimately, they cooperated and paid for what they said they were gonna pay for. I've been very pleased with the fact that, first of all, the equipment stayed through the hurricane. It didn't get destroyed. Also, I've gotten quite a bit of savings on my electric bills. I've only had some months in the very deepest part of winter when I didn't have enough to cover the entire bill with the Sunrun.

    Switching to Sunrun has been good. It was a very smooth and easy process. They had to come back and do some finishing up because there was water coming in the basement where they did the drilling. They rectified it. So, it was all good. I haven't had to call customer service since I got the service. It's helping me with the electric bill. I haven't received a bill from my local power company. So, I guess I don't burn that much energy for it to generate an extra bill from them. Compared to what other people are paying for their electric bill, I'm very satisfied.

    The process is quite a long. I am on the application process. I have a doubt on my bills that I need to clarifiy more to the sales agent. That my bill monthly is $368... I just realized today that It is odd? The program seems confusing, the billing separations from Edison? I thought the savings from installing the solar, will be sent to Edison and there should be no bills seperation as this program is grant from the govt?? The solar, the batteries, installation, permit seems it will be out of my pocket?? I am a senior citizens and try to meet my needs. At this time I have a doubt. I could not recommend to my family.

    From the beginning of the Sunrun process which started about a year ago up until now everything was copacetic. Then it was not. The product that they offer and install appears to be reliable and sound and performs well however, when you get into the management and administration of the company, they go downhill drastically and it’s not the Customer Service people or the agents that you speak with on the phone it has to do with the higher level, executive management, general accounting, principles, Board of directors. I was advised at the onset, from friends and other people as well as my own gut feeling, they told me, “Run from Sunrun”. Unfortunately, it was too late. I cannot run. I’m stuck with them for 25 years. Don’t you do the same. Just make sure that everything is transparent because they don’t tell you everything and if you don’t know to ask, then you don’t know.

    Today is now night eight with a partial blackout in my home. This partial blackout covers the entire master bedroom (MINE) and ONLY the light in the master bathroom!!! I'm baffled too! The original breakers covered the entire master bedroom and bathroom! How the master bathroom outlet can still be hot but the light out is way above the pay grade of the two independent electricians who were here last night. The sales people from Sunrun spent the first seven days and nights attempting to get me to hire an electrician, paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars out of pocket, to repair what they claimed had to do with the actual wiring in my home vs the wiring of the electrical panel. In addition there is a double 30 amp breaker labeled air condition. I do NOT have air conditioning. At this time, November 12, 2025 it is undetermined what, exactly, is wired to this double breaker!

    My daughter came to live with me, and I thought I'd better get the house in shape so when I go, she'd have something to inherit. Solar is part of it. However, it took a lot of time to get all the permits. Also, the system didn't want to work at first. But Sunrun got it straightened out and it works fine. On cloudy days we don't make much electricity, but that's to be expected. Everything's good.

    We have smaller electric bills. $5 was the norm. But California passed the thing. So, we got a $25 hookup fee every month no matter what happens. And they figured out how to get their money any way they can. But $25 is a lot cheaper than the $200 I was paying. It's completely paid for. It had 25 years maintenance. That ought to last for a while because I know I'm not gonna see the end of it. It was worth it. I have a friend who got Sunrun, and he likes them. He also got another company. Sunrun puts more stuff on his house after his initial.

    Sunrun did everything. They came, did it, and left. They pulled the permits and got the inspections done. The only thing I did was move some things away from my electrical panel for ease of access. My salesperson is responsive. He gets back to me. Also, the app works. I look at it from time to time. I wish I had more panels. I do not understand why Rhode Island Energy gets to tell me how many panels I can have. I don't like that. I got nine panels, but they go by my usage, and Rhode Island Energy doesn't want us to make more than we use. They still want their nickel.

    This summer, there was a month or two when we ran air conditioning and a dehumidifier, and even then, the electric bill was very low. There were months when I didn't pay anything. I get a bit of credit. Winter is coming, days are shorter, I will bake, and the oven will be on, I will get some bill. Last Christmas season, between baking and holiday lights, I had a bill of 100 bucks. It would have been at least twice that without the solar. Go with Sunrun. I have recommended friends who've used them.

    We bought a newly-constructed house, and the solar is required by law in California. The installation was part of the overall house construction.     I'm a Sunrun fan. I'm very satisfied. I worked with the person who ended up signing me up. He worked with me and informed me down to the nitty-gritty. He's very thorough and conscious both for Sunrun and the customer. I would highly recommend him to anybody that was interested in going into solar. We looked at what would be recommended for my house. I wanted to be oversized because I know that Edison and PG&E have rate increases laying in the background for at least two years. I wanted a little buffer on their rate increases for a little while, so I went ahead and added a few more panels.

    The system does everything that I had hoped it would. My true-up last year was 600 bucks. I've been thinking about a battery, but I don't know if I can afford it, because I will not lease it. I'm gonna try another year here and if my power bill holds around the same net to Edison, there's no need to invest in a battery system. It would only be in case we had an overall outage and I would have a gain by having a battery. But that doesn't happen often in Edison's responsibility area.

    I’ve had an awful experience with Sunrun and really want to warn others. From the very beginning, they used misleading sales tactics — I was told that buying their system would lower my energy bills, but instead, my costs actually went up after installation. The sales rep made it sound like I’d be saving a lot, but those promises turned out to be completely untrue.

    After installation, things just got worse. My system wasn’t producing power for months due to faulty inverter, and I was still being billed the whole time. Trying to get help from customer service/escalation team was a joke — endless calls, long wait times, and no real answers. These are some of the issues I have:
    • With solar panels my bills went up even though my usage didn’t change. Logically doesn’t make sense.
    • I am being hit with random extra charges and back-billing for maintenance to fix the issue when the system isn’t even performing properly.

    • When problems come up, like poor system performance or installation issues, Sunrun doesn’t take any responsibility.

    At this point, I feel stuck in a terrible deal. My bills are drastically higher than before, and their support is basically nonexistent. If you’re thinking about going solar, please stay away from Sunrun. I wish I had.

    I knew going solar was the right step towards the future. I don’t have huge savings because I have a small house, but it’s still savings, and with all this electric stuff, who knows? At any time, DWP can triple the bill, and with Sunrun, I’m at guaranteed price with just the 3% raise every month paid to Sunrun. The sales part of it was a little quirky, but it’s all good. But as far as installation, which was subbed out, all that went fairly well. I know there are people that build their own systems, but going with Sunrun was effortless. I’ve actually referred them to a co-worker.

    Sunrun is a good company. They’re reliable, and I think they do good quality work because the performance has shown that. 

    We bought a new home, and it already had Sunrun. And now, Sunrun’s been one of the ones that’s been around for a while. So, I was happy to see it was one that I’d heard of before when we bought the house. And we’ve been wanting to put solar in at the previous home that we owned, and never got to it because we thought we were gonna move, and we didn’t want to invest in something that we wouldn’t get the benefit from. So, we delayed until we bought this new house.

    Since going solar, we use less energy than we produce. So, we’ve had no true-up costs, which has been fantastic. So, our utility bills have been lowered substantially. And we purchased the solar. We didn’t lease it. So, in six to eight years, it would pay for itself, which is great. 

    And the only issue I’ve had is that the monitoring system locally, being able to monitor from my computer, goes out occasionally. But they helped teach me how to reset it and get it back up and running. I’ve heard that that’s a glitch that Sunrun has, or it’s the SolarEdge HD-Wave system that has a little bit of a glitch, according to the Sunrun folks, and their experience with other homes that have the same system. 

    We’ve had the house for a year and a half. And it didn’t really start until six months ago. So, in the last six months, I’ve had to reset it three or four times. And it takes 24 to 48 hours once that reset has been done. It’s still producing electricity, but they’re just not able to monitor it locally. You can’t monitor how much is being produced. And when it happened, it was still under warranty, but they said that when they come out, and it's not something that's a defect, I'd have to pay for service. But it should have been on Sunrun because it's still under warranty when it first happened. So, that bothered me.

    Two young men were walking around the neighborhood, seeing if anybody was interested in getting solar panels. I’m a conservationist and I believe in trying to save the planet one house at a time. Going solar appeals to my personality, just trying to conserve energy and get away from fossil fuel as much as possible. I was informed that Sunrun would be the provider. Bright Planet Solar was the installer. They were very incompetent. It took over six months to correct all their mistakes. It’s not Sunrun’s fault that this company was so abominable. Sunrun has a good reputation.

    It is saving money. Anything extra goes right into the local electrical company grid, Eversource. I’m happy with it. We had a massive power failure and Sunrun gave me the information as to why. Sunrun's rep was very nice over the phone, telling me it’s damage to wires on the street. Sunrun is very efficient.

    A rep from Sunrun came out and went over the numbers with me. He did a really good job. I really like the guy and we kept in touch. I live alone and I didn't have the need for it. But what they gave me was plenty. They gave me eight solar panels and the installation was perfect. They did a great job. They went through the attic and made it look really clean. I’m very happy with what they did. I loved it.

    I pay what they told me I'd be paying for about 20 years. Only a few times has it gone up around $4 or $5. That's how much money I've saved and I've been with them for around 3 years.

    Sunrun’s presentation was good. But I don’t know whether they knew it or not that when the energy is overproduced, PG&E takes 2,400 kilowatts in the first year. They don’t accumulate. We spend so much money and if they take the overproduction that we don’t use end of year, it is not fair to the customers.

    I talked to Sunrun about it once and they said that is the program I am in. But during the discussion, they did not declare that. First year, I got all the bills. I used only 60% of the whole yield. The remaining 40% is supposed to accumulate so that I’ll get the full benefit of what we paid for. In the second year, since we lost that overproduction, we bought an electric vehicle which takes a lot of kilowatts to charge. When we do that, we do not allow for the extra panels for the electric vehicles. The first day, the meter reading is almost the same, so looks like it is producing a little less than first year.

    To my understanding, the production is not like first year with the panels. It’s the trick of the business. When they talk, they said the meter will run reverse which I’ve seen. I log every day and figured it out. My bill in the first year was close to minus $550. But this year, I got to pay $400. In three more months, I’ll be paying at least $700. I paid upfront too much money and it looks like to me that I paid my bills for 12 years already. So, if the system works until 25 years, I will recover the money. But if I keep on paying $700 a year like the way it looks like this year, after having electric vehicle, maybe we have to add more panels now to get the benefits.

    Sunrun don’t give enough panels. My neighbor has three electric cars and need extra panels. They said that PG&E is not gonna approve extra panels because of your consumption. But there is no safety guideline because a lot of appliances are electrical now, so consumption is higher, then the bills will be a little higher. Another friend was paying $500 to $600 a month before the system. He said he got solar for free but I asked him how much he’s paying per month and he was told to pay $500 flat.

    The reason why we have solar is to eliminate the PG&E bill. They’re being blamed for this, but we have to use their electricity. If you cut them out, you cannot run your house with electricity with solar only.

    I have been telling people solar’s a good technology, but the Sunrun did not tell me the proper program. We could have predicted to add more panels. Now, if we have to add more panels, it’s gonna cost another 10 grand. If the system doesn’t work, then I lose that money.

    When I started using Sunrun, my bill was 0, but ConEd now charges me $26 to $29 a month just to get the paperwork bill. They’re a big company, so I don’t know how I’m gonna beat them. They're always trying to make money on you.
    One thing about using solar panels is that if you’re using the power while the sun is hitting your panels, you’re not gonna save because you can’t generate credit and you’ll still get a bill. But when nobody’s home, you get credit, and I got 400 credit.

    On the other hand, the process of signing up with Sunrun was fine. The representative explained everything. I had no problems, so I told my nieces to sign up with Sunrun.

    I was curious about solar systems, and Sunrun was one that made themselves known and available. My next-door neighbor had them, and he sold me on it. I now have two systems with them, the main system with 24 panels on the main house, and then another system, 10 panels on the garage that’s attached to the house. I have the app on both my PC and my Android devices to monitor them. The tablet has a larger screen and seems to work well for displaying that. My phone’s screen is too small for it to work. I don’t know how accurate it is, but I just take whatever it shows at face value.

    They let me know when things are gonna be happening, and things would happen. When I call them, I’m able to get somebody. This last winter, someone moved into the house. I was able to work through Sunrun to go and remove some of the electricals because I had to get the siding done. They came back and reattach the electricals and get the system back online. It seems to work okay. It didn’t drag on for weeks and months. I haven’t noticed any glitches. I seem to have good service with them.

    We have Sunrun on our Las Vegas house, but we don't go up there. The guy who sold it was very patient and answered all our questions. I was interested since we also have rental properties in Oahu. He helped me understand what solar is. It took us a month before we could get it installed, but once it got running, everything is good.

    There was a little problem, and they said we needed internet to get the reading off our phone. We put the internet, and now I monitor it on our phone every day. After that, everything got really good. The bills are getting smaller and smaller and smaller, like only $45 a month. It’s always less than $100. It’s still getting better, so we’re very happy.

    I actually hated the way solar looked, but we had a great Sunrun salesman. Mike was phenomenal. I actually recommended him to my daughter. They put solar up on their house and now they’re gonna do their shore house too.

    I almost broke even for the first year. In New Jersey, our electric is unbelievably high. People are complaining that their electric is going up a couple hundred dollars a month, so this is a blessing for us. I got a new roof out of it too. It’s a black roof so the solar doesn’t stand out.

    I am not happy with the way Sunrun “cheated” me with its autopay program. When we signed up for its service we were promised a 12/12 promotion price if we enroll in the autopay program, which we did. However, in his eagerness to get us sign the service contract, the salesman didn’t tell us that if we linked the auto payment to a credit card there would be a 17 dollars monthly charge. Furthermore, when the credit card reached its expiration date, Sunrun dis-enrolled us from the autopay program and revoked its promotion price which it claims contingent on us enrolled in the autopay program. Although I later did link the autopay to my banking account Sunrun refused to honor the promotion price promised to us.

    Dealing with Sunrun has been nothing short of an absolute nightmare and scam. It started back in 2023 when their sales people that were going door to door, entered our yard, disregarding the no trespassing signs, let themselves in our gate. They then had my elderly uncle who was in his 80's, ill, and not in the right state of mind sign a contract committing to 20 years of leasing their panels. I was the POA at the time, and had no knowledge that any of this took place until the panels were already on the roof when I pulled up one day. There were caregivers in and out at the time, and had one of them witnessed Sunrun trespassing, or had I, we would never be locked into this absolute mess.

    Since that time, the panels have caused multiple issues, even causing water to pour into the house through the bedroom ceiling in two different places. I have been calling and battling with them to get some sort of a response or resolution, but after endless calls and "help escalation ticket" with promises of a manager calling me, I've gotten nowhere. They did however send "their roofer" out last year and he determined that the leak was not from the panels, but from an attic fan. However, I have had more than one licensed public adjuster, as well as my insurance adjuster, tell me that the panels caused the leaking.

    Unfortunately, since this whole nightmare began, my uncle has since passed away. Sunrun informed me that if I do not take over and sign the contract as the new homeowner, they would not take the panels off so that I could replace my roof until I did sign. So, today I called to let them know that I had my licensed roofers remove the panels and set them aside for them to pick up so that we could move forward with replacing the roof after having had a whole section of the house roof tarped off for over a year now to avoid the panels causing even more damage. I asked that they come get the panels, as there is no way that they are going back on the new roof. Although the contract should have never been in place to begin with, they told me that the contract is tied to the home anyways now and I should go ahead and call my Lawyer. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and steer clear!

    I’m writing this review to warn others about my experience with Sunrun. A year ago, I shared how their salesperson misrepresented how the battery system works. I was led to believe it would significantly reduce my electricity bill—but instead, I ended up paying both my regular utility bill and the Sunrun lease. That was the first lie. Now, it’s happened again. I was told by the same salesperson that if I ever moved, Sunrun could relocate my solar system to my new home. That turned out to be completely false. When I contacted customer support, they told me there’s nothing in my contract about relocation. Worse, they said they’d “start an investigation” if I had notes or chat records. But why wasn’t this done when I first raised the issue—three years ago?

    It feels like a smokescreen to make it look like they’re doing something, when in reality, they’re not. This experience reminds me of the kind of behavior you’d expect from companies like Wells Fargo—misleading, dismissive, and unaccountable. I regret trusting them and not getting everything in writing. If you're considering Sunrun, don’t rely on verbal promises. Get everything documented, or better yet, look elsewhere. What started as a hopeful step toward clean energy has turned into a solar nightmare.

    This is the worst company there is!! If I could have rated a double 00 I would have. They send their sales people to your home. They paint a great picture and then do not follow through with any of it. I was told that I would lease the panels and that if I wanted to stop I could at any time, they also advised that if the roof needed to be repaired, they would come and take the panels off and put them back on without charge. That is a lie. They will charge you double to take the panels off and will not let another company do it saying it will void the warranty. When you ask to speak to a supervisor they refuse to give you a supervisor. DO NOT use this company, they will rip you off and if you do foolishly use them read every tiny print in the contract because their salespeople tell you and what they actually do is completely different. And then you are locked in for 20 years. The lies that their salespeople is endless.

    A person from Sunrun was on our street and stopped and chatted with my husband. He then referred them to me and we talked. I found out that one of our neighbors had already contracted with them. I checked with our neighbor, and our neighbor said they were very happy with them.

    The only thing is that I didn’t realize the amount of increase per year on it. But since we only have a small electric bill in the wintertime, I don’t have any complaints. I'm very happy with it. The people who sold it have checked back in periodically and established a good rapport with us. I’m glad I made the decision to have the system and sorry that I didn’t make it sooner.

On this home, the installation took a while, and it took even longer for my son’s home because it was the time when Hawaii was giving the rebate and everybody was putting solar in.     I had a Sunrun solar system installed in March. The sales and install teams were excellent and the system worked great until mid-August when it stopped working completely. I was told I would be reimbursed for the months the system was totally down once the system was repaired. It was fixed last week when they replaced a totally defective box and now Sunrun is saying they will not reimburse me. The system being completely down cost me thousands of dollars for electric usage I would not have needed if my solar system was working as expected, in addition to my monthly Sunrun fees.

    There was no urgency on the Sunrun side to fix my system or concern about the amount it was costing me. The customer service team is now refusing to help me at all and refusing to escalate my complaint. It took 5 tries to even get someone to call me after being promised repeatedly that someone would call and discuss how I would be reimbursed. I feel completely scammed by this company and wish I had never contracted with them in the first place.

    During the Sunrun presentation, the guy was courteous and pretty straightforward. He answered my questions. I felt at the end that I understood what the deal was and what to expect. I decided to purchase 26 panels. During the installation, you guys were there when you said you'd do it and you put it up very efficiently. It was done well and inspected well.

    I've talked to some of my neighbors and said Sunrun is a reputable company and they did a really good job. They always respond when they said. I had no issues. The price is right where he said it was gonna be. And as far as the regular electricity, it was pretty much on par.

    Based on what we pay versus what the electric company is charging, it's been pretty much on par. But once electrical prices went up, I'm doing better than the rest of them and we've saved a couple of hundred dollars over two years. I feel good about doing this carbon-free and I'm not really losing money. So I'm happy.

    The salesman at Sunrun, Eric, was excellent. He went door to door and follows up. When he said he would do something, he did it. The program got for me was perfec, and it has been working very well for us.
    Since I had the panels, I only had a bill from the electric company the first month they turned it on. I haven’t gotten a bill since.

    That said, I have a couple of other friends that got solar with a different company. They were able to get a lower price while getting the same wattages and everything. One of them even got one more watt, a little bit more, and he had a service put in. While he had some extra work done, he got a better price.

    I wasn’t gonna to do Sunrun, but a guy named Joaquin talked me into it. I wanted to save money, so I did it. The installation process was easy, and I can check on my phone how much power I produce. The site is very user-friendly.

    Back in August, I had some issues because I wasn’t producing enough, and they had to come back and change it. After that, I started producing. While I did notice a difference with my electric bill, I had to pay a lot of money to National Grid last September because I wasn’t producing through Sunrun at the time. I paid two bills in one month.

    I am a union carpenter, and the guys from Sunrun were professionals. They did a really good job. Eli, the representative I worked with, texts me every now and then to see how everything’s going. In fact, he called recently just to make sure everything was like it’s supposed to be. Nobody else does that.

    Everything about the installation was good, from the cleanup to the way they handled themselves in my house and the way they pulled things back. Since the installation, we don’t have a light bill. I was happy with Sunrun, and I told my son about them. I told him to go with Sunrun because they’re great and very knowledgeable.     Sunrun did door-to-door sales. The representative was informative. I was more for it than what the wife was. In the beginning, they were delaying the installation because I have a workbench in front of the fuse panel. But then I informed them the workbench was on wheels and it could be rolled out of the way, after which they went on with the installation.

    Having solar panels has impacted my life with a much cheaper electricity bill. Except now, because of the state tax, we're paying $8 more, from $80 to $88. I’ve heard that the program has changed a little bit. We get 100% back on what we send to the grid. Now, I heard it’s just a percentage back.

    There were several companies offering solar, but I spoke to an agent from Sunrun and was given information about it. It sounded like it was something that I could use, and the numbers made sense. A few neighbors in my neighborhood had the system as well, so I made the decision to go that way. The installation went very well. They did it within the timeframe that it was supposed to be done. It was very well installed. There were no issues.

    I did it on a monthly plan. I have noticed a difference in my electrical bill. I have mentioned it to a couple of my friends and told them that I had a good savings from the electrical standpoint. I know one of them went with it, and another one is still debating. Everything has been good.

    I heard about Sunrun through an advertisement, and I just called the representative. He came out and took care of all the necessary paperwork. The process was good. I just filled out the paperwork. The representative helped me fill out all the paperwork, and we just did it. 

    The installation was also good. It was nice and easy. It only took about a couple of days, one day to install the stuff and then do the roofing support for it, and then they hooked up the power to it. So, switching to solar is reasonable and cheap. I had no problems with it.
