Wal-Mart insurance is the worst insurance in the US. It pays nothing on your claims. Under the current coverage, I recently received a doctor bill for $115.00. This insurance is supposed to be 80%-20%. Insurance paid $24 and change, and my portion was $77 and change. I don't know where you went to school, but in no way is that 20%. And this is only 1 instance. If you work for Wal-Mart, you are basically a labor slave - minimum wage with the poorest insurance available. And all this from a multi-billion dollar corporation. I bet poor old Sam Walton is spinning like a whirling dervish in his grave at what his good intentions have now become.

I ordered a DS game before it hit shelves. I was told it would be here before my husband is deployed to Iraq on the 26th. While tracking it, I've seen that Walmart.com intercepted this several times (7). I complained and still nothing, but interception. My husband was deployed without having an early Christmas present to take to Iraq. I talked to a customer service lady today who stated I was being rude due to my voice. Well, my voice is my voice. I don't like being treated like a 3-year old and I was being very nice. Anyway, they want to give me a refund now, which means 7-10 days to get this. The game is now sold out! I spent two weeks going on with Walmart.com, talked to customer service and the Walmart store. They wouldn't even allow me just to pick up the item from the local store. They refused to do this. I'm so frustrated that now I can't stand it. It took many hours and days to work with this company.

This is regarding the green spotted puffer fish that they sell. They do not take care of them properly, nor do they inform you on how to take care of them properly. They have them in fresh water, when in fact, these fish need to be kept in brackish water, which is a mix of marine salt and fresh water. In the tank, they have a cup of aquarium salt, which is incorrect. They also tell you to keep a cup of aquarium salt in the tank at all times, which only kills them. They say, "These fish die all the time. If you return them, we will only flush them down the toilet and issue you a refund." The rest of the tanks are always dirty with dead fish floating all around. They do not know how to take care of fish and have no right to sell them. I'm shocked that no one has stepped in yet.

I purchased two dog toys yesterday from my local Walmart. My dog promptly chewed through one (which is normal). What I found inside the toy was horrifying! There was plastic bag with a coil of two inch foam! The foam could easily become lodged in a dog's throat and kill them! The plastic bag and small hard plastic squeaker part that was attached are also huge choking hazards. This product is incredibly dangerous! It is not at all suitable for dogs! The product is a hedgehog made by American Dog Outfitters (made in China) # 72253376908. I'm out $7 and hours of safe fun for my dog. Luckily she was not injured with this product.

My daughter's boyfriend and my self purchased jewelry for my daughter for her birthday and Christmas through the online part of Wal-Mart. For her birthday, we purchased a heart necklace with both their birthstones and their names engraved. For Christmas, we purchased a ring with both their birthstone and their names engraved. Between the two items, we paid $110. Both items turned black, and Wal-Mart said there was nothing they could do because it was ordered online through Wal-Mart. So basically, I am out $110 for junk jewelry. Lesson learned. Don't buy jewelry at Wal-Mart! They do not back it.

On 10/17/2009, I went to Walmart and purchased an HP Deskjet F380 Ink cartridge at 3:02pm (as per receipt). The model HP Deskjet F380 is the printer I use at home and so the sales associate checked the ink cartridge box and clearly saw it on the box, hence that was the correct ink cartridge. I got home only to realize that the cartridge does not fit, indicating that it was not the correct one or a manufacturer's defect. I returned to Walmart only to be told by a manager, called Nathan, that they wouldn't accept the return because it is an open box.
I clearly explained to him that and showed him the evidence I had on hand indicating that the model number and what was written on the box was the same as confirmed by the sales associate and myself. This arrogant, non-professional manager called Nathan, instead of him using his common sense as a manager, only rattled they would not accept the return. I paid $30.42 for this! I need assistance to retrieve my money back. It has resulted in me not being able to complete my work for which I have a deadline, created pain and hurt knowing that I am being robbed in broad daylight by Walmart.

I know I was wrong for losing my receipt but when you can't remember, it's a problem. I returned a swimming pool I bought back in June 2009. I needed the money so I returned it, but if you pulled up my history, you will see that I spent a lot of money in Walmart. They asked me the exact date I bought it. I couldn't remember so I paid $99.00 plus tax and I asked them to go back to middle of June. They couldn't do that either. I loved Walmart but after they cheated me out of $50.00, I was so ashamed I haven't been back to your store. Times are hard, I'm on disability and you aren't hurting for anything. They belittled me and my pride, so now Target and Kmart are my stores. You lost a good customer over $50.00. Thank you for your time.

I worked for Wal-Mart for almost 5 years. I was a cashier in the beginning and they started pulling me to stock. I worked 3rd shift. Eventually, I was stocking in the Pets department every night. I had to take a leave of absence for 6 months due to an injury prior to working there. I came back in August of 2007. I was put in Pets permanently. At first, I had help for approximately 6 weeks in the Pets department. She then went to another shift. I was left on my own. Mind you, this is a very large Pet department. It grossed over $4 million a year and was 59th overall in all Wal-Mart stores worldwide according to my department manager.
I was given help off and on for the next year and a half. I had to do it all: download pallets, stock shelves,re-stack pallets, and zone. Often, I had to pull pallets from the back, which was on the other side of the store. I did my job and I did it well, I'm not bragging, just fact. I was given an Exceeds on every evaluation except my 3rd month, I was given a Meets, which is normal. As it turned out, I was by myself more often than not. I had to stock dog and cat food bags, cans, box freight, and more.
On 12/5/08, I was putting away the cat litter. I picked up a 35-lb bucket of litter when something in my neck popped. I almost got sick to my stomach because of the pain and then it eased up a little. I thought I had pulled a muscle so I tried to finish. I worked for just a little while but could no longer stand the pain in my neck. I called my manager over, Fred **, and told him I needed to go home so I could go to the doctor. His reply was, and I quote, "You know if you leave early too many times, it counts as an absence." He said it very rudely. I told him that it was the first time I had left early.
He never mentioned filling out an accident report and neither did I. I did not because I thought I had pulled a muscle and I didn't want to cause them any problems. Also, there were signs posted in many locations that if you got injured, you had to report it within 15 minutes. It turned out that I have 3 bulging discs in my neck and 3 in my lower back. They would not let me draw unemployment. They said I would have to stay on LOA for an entire year before they would let me go. They sent my work restrictions to their legal department and said that I could be a door greeter only, but at this time there were no openings. I would have to wait until a job opened up.
Later, I was told a different tale. There was not a job for me there due to my work restrictions. In the meantime, I am sitting at home with no income and only my husband's disability. His check could not cover all of our bills. I decided to quit, as it was my only choice, and file for disability. I tried speaking with the market and store managers on a three-way call to see if there was any way I could quit and still draw unemployment. Darryl, the market manager, yelled at me over the phone, "What is it you want from us?"
I said, "There is no need for you to be rude. I am not being rude to you." The manager said that Darryl was in a meeting in a room full of people and could not hear you but he took the time out of his meeting to talk to you. I said, "I can hear him just fine," and thought to myself, why shouldn't he take the time out to talk with me? I am a Wal-Mart associate; it is his job to talk to me. I had tried on quite a few occasions to speak with him and he told me he would get back with me but he never did.
I said, "All I want from you all is to be able to draw my unemployment until I can get disability." He said there was nothing he could do for me and got off the phone. I told my manager that he knows I loved my job, that I worked very hard for that store, and I did my job to the very best of my ability every night. He said he was very sorry to lose me and that there was nothing he could do for me.
I have now filed for disability. I have been turned down by two lawyers to sue. If there is anyone out there that can help me, please contact me.

I went to Wal-Mart in the morning at around 10:30 to look for an iPod charger for my boyfriend’s iPod for his birthday. He had lost it and I wanted to surprise him with it. So I asked what charger would I get right and a very nice gentleman (he was young and short) helped me out and told me which ones would work with it. And so when I went up to buy it, a different guy helped me out here. I was gonna be using my Wal-Mart credit card to buy it and I did asked the guy behind the desk (he was a tall, big, and muscular ** around his 30s or 40s) if I could know my available balance. He gave me a blank look and answered to me like, “How do you want me to do that?” Ugh! I got mad and was like, “Huh”? And he said, “Can't you just call?”
I was left in shock - after all, he should be helping me out and that is why they pay him for, right? Well, anyways, then I guess he saw the impression on my face and looked behind him where an older looking lady was standing. He asked her if they can do that. And she just shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know." Ugh! I was angry. I know I could have just called and checked my balance, but I thought it would be easier to do if I just did so once I paid. Well, yeah, they both just stared at me with the dumbest and blankest looks ever and the guy just looked at me like, “Is that it?” And I was angry and rolled my eyes and said, “Fine, I see,” and walked away angry and frustrated. Poor, bad customer service.

I was shopping in Walmart about a week ago and I noticed the clerk putting out sealed plastic containers with a Beta fish in each. They all looked pathetic but one had only about 1/2 inch of water in it (the rest were certainly not much better). When I called it to his attention, he smirked and said they breathe air. From the looks of the entire fish department, I don't believe they have any business selling fish. There are no consequences to me except an overwhelming sadness at how callous and uncaring we have become about living creatures.

I bought a peach tree in the spring for $20. It was dead, I guess, when I bought it. I planted it when I got home and it never put a leaf on. The tag on the tree said the tree was guaranteed for a year. I didn’t know this when I bought the tree. I was going to throw the tree away. I happened to look at the tag that was still on the tree. I took the tree to Walmart’s garden center. They sent me to the service department. The lady there said if I didn’t have a sales slip, she couldn’t give my $20 back. I spend about $15000 a year at Walmart. I will try shopping elsewhere.

I have a concern in the New Rock Hill area Wal-Mart. The store has not worked with college students, such as scheduling. Students are not in control with their college schedules. They are part-time workers. The managerials are hard to work with and hard to reach. If you have a doctor's excuse, you are still considered an unexcused absence. This can frighten students, because they need to work. The store should be held accountable. The quality of education for our children must be acknowledged. Students are our tomorrow. Wal-Mart cannot play by only Wal-Mart rules. They must be in compliance with other retailers. I still love to shop at Wal-Mart, and I will continue to shop at Wal-Mart. This is an issue that certainly and easily can be resolved. I trust that this matter will be handled quickly.

I purchased an RCA TV in November 2007. The sound quit working and was told by my local repair shop that they could not get the part to fix this (signal module) because China had a freeze on the parts. I have tried calling RCA and was talking to someone in the Philippines. They said they would replace the TV and have someone from the United States call me. It never happened. After many calls to RCA, I got some office in the USA. They could not help me. I called Wal-Mart’s 1-800-wal-mart. They said they would get back with be in couple of days (never happened). I have, for the last 3 days, been calling Wal-Mart’s 1-800 all hours of the day and night and get nothing but a busy signal. What can I do? Just a few comments about the pet departments at Walmart: I am the department manager over Pets at my Walmart. The reasons why the fish and tanks are in bad shape at some stores are many. You may get a "bad" order from the hatchery. I’ve had customers tamper with my tanks, putting Bettas in with other fishes, moving some fish into tanks with aggressive fishes. The main reason is that there are not enough associates to keep up with the responsibilities.
As of right now, I am the only person operating the pet department. I have to keep up the responsibilities of a department manager as well as what any of my associates would do, including stocking, and cleaning the fish tanks. I take pride in my department and wish I had more help, but until I do, I will strive to do the best I can. Please, if you have any complaints, talk to the store manager and then go above them to the district manager, then above them. There are plenty of Walmart associates who care about doing a great job for our customers!

I was returning some seat covers without my receipt ($19.96). Lynn took my seat covers, then I went back to exchange them. I came back, and Lynn was gone. Jasmine waited on me. I told her I was exchanging the covers because they did not fit. She asked me if I had a receipt. I said no. I was just wanted to exchange. The seat covers did not have a UPC code on them. I told her I bought them that way, and she didn't believe me.
Then, she asked the associate to go look for the same one I had because I had no receipt and she needed a UPC. The boy came back and said that there were no covers like that back there. I said yes and that there was about 6 or 7 like that. He said, "No, there's not any back there." I told him where they were in automotive and that they're with no UPC code also. Then Jasmine said to me "That's not what the associate said."
Jasmine then called a CSM and told her I had no receipt and no UPC and had none like that in the store. I told the CSM "Yes, you do" and told her how many and one with UPC code. She told me to go get her one. I came back with 2 of the same covers, one with UPC and one without. Jasmine let another customer go before me. I went to another line and told the lady how rude Jasmine was. She heard me, and she came over to me and said, "How did I give you a hard time. There are procedures we have to follow." Then I said, "I am going to lunch. I am not a thief, and I did not appreciate being treated like one. I did not steal those covers, and I did not like the way." She replied, "I did." When I took it back, they said this would be the “last time”. I also got no tank filter this time. After several days, it too began leaking. I took it apart and found the leak, which is the pickup tube that is made for 2 O-rings at each end but only has 1. I went to the hardware store and get 4 O-rings. And after putting it all back together, guess what? No leaks and great coffee. You would think that for the cost of 2 little O-rings, going back and forth could have been prevented. On 09/01/09, my wife purchased with a credit card 4 tetra fish at $1.84 each. She has had fish for at least 25 years and is good at caring for them. Within 24 hours all 4 fish died. She went back to the store on 09/04/09 with the receipt (as it says on the bag) to get a replacement of the 4 fish. The store clerk told her that after death, she should have frozen the fish and brought them back to the store as proof that they died. The clerk said that it is written on the bag to do this procedure.
First of all, it is not written anywhere to do such a gross thing. And secondly, why would any human being that loves fish do such an inhumane thing? What happened to the trust that a 67-year-old great-grandmother should get? All she wanted to do was replace the fish that she didn’t get to enjoy. She has since purchased some new ones (from the same store) and they are doing well. The total cost of the lost fish was $7.95 (tax included). It is not the lost cost, it is the fact of what the clerk wanted her to do. Anything that you can do to rectify the situation would be welcome. I pushed the button for someone to help me, waited 10 minutes just to have someone come and tell me to come back in 30 minutes. But I had shopping to do so I calmly said okay and came back only to hit the button, wait another 10 minutes, and have multiple people come back and say they didn't know how to do it and they would find someone who could help.
Apparently, there was an issue going on in the bathroom and that is what these people were responding to - not me. I eventually got so annoyed that I just left. This is the second time I have had an issue with the site to store process - at two different stores. It seems that very few of the staff are trained in this department and it's a major issue. I am dreading having to go back there and almost want to just ask for a refund and go somewhere else. There should be a disclaimer on the order site stating that you may have to wait up to an hour to pick up your product once at the store!

Four days later, it was broken again and the customer service people at Walmart sent it to this company in Florida. Well, lo and behold, they could not fix it because they said it had liquid spilled on it. Now why did the company in California repair it and never state liquid spilled in it until they were back into a corner by Walmart and they gave in to saying there was also fluid spilled in it? I said, "Well, maybe I need to take your advice." So I took my darn well slow time on getting my debit card through the machine clicking, slowing. I acted just like she did. Ridiculous! She just grumped and handed my bag to me. I don't think she likes it when someone treats her that way. This is not the first time I have had bad experience in this store. Economically, people will go elsewhere for good customer service. The store clerks on the store floor will not take you and show you where something is, they point and say "Over there." I tried to get help at the customer service desk and was refused.
I asked to talk to the customer service manager and they said he said he was busy and couldn't deal with it right now. What is wrong with the store in Stuttgart, Arkansas? Customer service is the lowest I have ever seen there. I hate the store and my friends feel the same way! I work at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas there in Stuttgart and many employees there are dissatisfied. Please train your people to wear a smile and that the customer needs assistance, and the customer is always right! That's a good business tactic to follow. Thank you for your time.

After 3 days of searching Walmart and driving to 4 stores, one of the most helpful associates who took time take care in Oceanside Store "**" let me know that the laptop "Toshiba for $498" was available in Temecula and gave me their telephone number. After verifying that had 4, and I mean verified 4 of these laptops, I drove from Bonsall to Temecula and was given an open laptop. My husband who worked for Sanyo Fisher for 21 years looked at the box upon my return (1 1/2 hours) and said it was opened and the factory seal had been broken. Looking inside, it was very obvious it was a used model.
Now, after driving 1 1/2 to pick up a model I searched for in 4 different stores and online, I picked up a laptop that I have to bring back because no one checked or maybe it is your policy? I should have checked when they couldn't scan it and I couldn't find it displayed, but it was never given to me to inspect. ** at your Oceanside/College 76 dept. warned me, and he should receive the employee of the year award. The people at the Temecula store should have made absolutely sure they knew I was driving from Bonsall. What a waste of time.
Now, my son who this was for is 18 and I have to somehow return this drive, work and get hopefully a real factory Toshiba laptop. Very unhappy Walmart shopper who will go somewhere for electronics and pass the work. Too bad for Toshiba. Consequences: open, factory seal destroyed, UPC code cut off and everything was opened obvious return repacked. Too bad, I was warned.

I have always been disappointed with Wal-Mart's service in the Glenmont, NY area, but, lately, it seems to have gotten even worse. This location recently remodeled, which would seem like an improvement. Instead, it has been a hassle and several items were not restocked once the store was finished. At least 10 new registers were added to this location - totaling about 30 in all - yet, I have never seen more than 8 registers lit up and open at a time. The express lanes are backed up with people just wanting to buy one item, but must wait almost as long as those in regular item lanes.
When waiting in one of these express lines about a week ago, the woman at the register next to me turned off her light. She proceeded to tell the last woman in a line of 3 people - who had been waiting for about 10 minutes - that her lane was now closed and she would have to go to a new one. The woman angrily walked away to a non-express lane with 4 items to wait again. Less than 2 minutes later, the woman at the register saw a person who had gotten into line behind me (after the whole closing ordeal) and told her, "come on up here, I can check you out!" This just does not seem right to me. Her light was off, and as she made clear to everyone around, she had closed her lane. A new person should not have been helped at that register.
Now, I would have complained to customer service at the time, but since it did not affect me directly I tried to let it go. There was also a too-long line of about 10 people at the customer service desk, with only one person working - another problem with several Wal-Marts in my opinion.

We have written the company, sent complaints and went to Walmart. I took it to a repair man and he said the control panel is no good and can’t find one to replace it. I really think the company should replace the TV or repair it at their expense.

Rather than causing a big scene, I sent my grandson to the truck. I then told the cashier that she could get someone to place my basket full of items back on the shelves, etc. My question is, is it against your rules for a 16-year-old to lift a 30-pack of beer onto/off of the cashier's counter? I have done this many times with no problems at all 3 Walmarts in Hot Springs. Suddenly, it's against the policy or law? Thank you in advance.

While returning items that one of my kids received as a gift (we already had both of these movies), the customer service person told me that I was going to be penalized since I did not have a receipt! I did not have a receipt because it was a gift and since the movies were never opened and they both clearly came from Walmart, then what was the issue? Apparently, a consumer can only return so many items a year and then they become penalized. Well, I am a social worker and have a variety of patients who I work with, and many of these patients have loved ones that live out of town or out of state. These patients receive items from loved ones and if the item does not fit, broken, wrong color or for whatever reason the patient is not able to get out one of their own and wishes to have the item returned or exchanged, that is where I come into play.
I help out my patients by returning or exchanging items for them and I have done this for many years without ever having a problem. Some items I have to return and go to Target, some to Kmart and some to JCPenny's and I have never had a problem. With my recent and probably last visit to Walmart, I was informed that I was going to be penalized for returning items. What does that mean? Am I being banned from purchasing at Walmart? If I purchase an item and it is broken, then I cannot return it? Just what does a penalty at Walmart actually means? And I should add, you are Walmart! Not a large department store like Macy's, you're Walmart!
When I asked Target, Kmart, Kohl's and JC Penny's if they had a penalty policy that I should be aware of, I was laughed at and was told that they would never treat their customers that way by threatening them with such things as a penalty. Well thank God they have enough respect for their customers! I have been passing the word about your penalty policy and honestly, I have been laughed at because it is funny. I will continue to pass the word about what a joke Walmart is and I should be able to reach a lot of people through Facebook! Is Walmart a convenience?

Nothing at all like what was described. I confirmed that the UPC on the item I received matched the UPC on the items description on the website. I then searched that UPC and discovered the item is in fact a single disc at every other retailer. I immediately contacted Walmart.com and after 4 days of back and forth emails with various employees who failed to even acknowledge the issue, I finally called them.
After sharing my discovery with the employee on the phone, she said she would forward the information to the management and other appropriate people to correct the mistake. Now 2 days later, the item is still described as the same, the UPC is the same and they have corrected nothing. Two other consumers have commented on the items page that they too received only one disc. This is blatant false advertising. They are refunding me for my purchase, but that is beside the point. She said that was the price. I paid, walked directly back to the shelf and verified only to find I was right. I was directed to the Customer Service Department by the cashier. (Her job was to put the money in the register.) After waiting for two other customers, I told the clerk my situation. She began my refund of $1.08. First, I would like to compliment the Mitchell, SD store. They do a good job keeping the shelves stocked on busy days and they have many benches to sit and rest on; that is important to many customers and they have a good layout of the floor. Now about the Pierre, SD store, we have to travel 60 miles one way to get there and when we do, most of the time, the shelves are empty of the standard products. The last three trips to the store they did not have any Zesta crackers on the shelf and once I asked if they would get some from the stock room and I was told they didn't have any. Shouldn't common sense tell the management that the products that go off the shelves the most and fastest be stocked and checked more often and order more of that product to begin with?
We spend around $600 to $1000 at your stores every month but we have found that it is getting much easier just to go across town to the stores that have what we need when we need it. The other problem is the resting benches. I think there is only four in the store and none of them are located on the store side of the check outs, unlike the Mitchell store (they have three) in that location which makes me think the Mitchell store cares more about the needs of their customers. I have asked the management in Pierre to take a look at the Mitchell store in order to improve the Pierre store, but nothing has changed. So my wife asked if we start shopping at Mitchell again even if it is a 200 mile round trip, we just might. I would suggest that your Pierre manager be given a refresher course in PR and stock flow training.

The Wal-Mart stores would not take my mother's check for the needed medication, Seravent for COPD. I knew there had to be a mistake because my mother had over $2,000 in her checking account. My name was on the check and the check that was refused was because my name was on the check. The company Wal-Mart hired to check checks for purchases said I bounced a check with Wal-Mart. My husband was in the car waiting for me and I took him home and picked up my checking account statement to prove it was impossible for me to bounce a check and returned to Wal-Mart.
When I walked in to Wal-Mart and asked to see the manager knowing no one else could help me, the counter help girl yelled for security. When the security person came, I told him he could not help me with this mess; he would need to call for the manager. The assistant manager came to my aide and for two hours with my bank statement, my driver's license, my checkbook (which I trusted him with as he went behind closed doors) and after over two hours of standing in Wal-Mart, the check company got on the phone with me after all their denials of me doing any wrong, put me with their accounting department. They explained to me that when I gave Wal-Mart my check, the cashier who put it in the register did not do it properly which cut off part of my account number.
Mind you, they had my check with my name, address, city, state, zip and phone number and couldn't call me for the balance of the number. In addition to all this, their counter girl who called security, continuously harassed me by discussing my situation as a check bouncer with customers and she gave me a fit for using the phone that the assistant manager asked me to use to straighten this matter out.
I am very disturbed that this was the beginning of my vacation and I was accused of bouncing a check even with the proof that I had a few thousands dollars in the account during the whole month of August. My mother was denied her needed medication because of no problem that we caused. Also, to date, my check has not cleared and I gave them all the information they needed. I do not think that as large as Wal-Mart is, they could not work things out. Even after they knew the problem, they still would not take my check. And lastly, I resent the attitude of the counter help gossiping about me when she did not have the true facts.

If you visit any Wal-Mart in Chicago, prepare for "Ghetto mentality treatment." This includes, but is not limited to:
1) Employees pulling out cell phone cameras and taking your picture if they see you complaining to the manager about filthy conditions or poor customer service. The employees believe that if you complain about their behavior, you are a "snitch." (I believe they do this to share the photo of the "snitch" with other employees.) This enables them to treat certain customers worse than usual if they visit that store again.
I will explain this again. Ghetto Wal-Mart employees will publicly pull out their cell phones in the middle of the store (or they will follow the customer into the restroom and take a picture). The reason why they do this is because they may have witnessed the customer complain to management about long lines, rude employees, or filthy conditions. These pictures will then be sent to other Wal-Mart employees, who have the same "Ghetto mentality." Think of it as "putting the word out" on a customer. This allows all employees to treat that customer even worse, if they visit that same Wal-Mart or other Wal-Marts who have seen that customer's picture. I have primarily seen this behavior at the Wal-Mart located at 4650 W. North Ave., Chicago, IL 60639 with contact number (773) 252-7465.
2) Unprofessional "under cover" security guards following customers all over the store.
3) Employees loudly discussing their personals lives, which usually consist of how they beat their children, out-of-wedlock children, baby daddies and mamas, imprisoned significant others, disorderly conduct arrest, and the verbal admiration of co-workers' hair weaves.
4) Filthy products, restrooms, and overall disarray of the store. How can the products in the store be covered with dirt and grime? They have shelves full of products covered in filth.
Several people responded to this review, and I am shocked at how many people support Wal-Mart's poor employee behavior. Here's one for you: I went to a Wal-Mart in White Plains. The lady at the door scanning returns said she was the co-manager. She was dressed in a sloppy green dress with a huge wig and too much makeup. She has no uniform, name tag, or anything to identify her as being an employee. She did have a huge grease stain on the front of her dress. She was slow and inefficient and a slob. On top of that, she was loud and obnoxious. I asked her her name, and she told me "Manager Beverly."
Employees at Wal-Mart are more pathetic than anything else. I kind of feel sorry for them. I'm not upset with the employees. I believe these employees are not trained properly. Now, I haven't submitted any formal complaint to Wal-Mart about their employees. But judging by the responses to this complaint, I believe I need to take this a step further.
I want to thank everyone who responded to my complaint. I believe the way that Wal-Mart employees behave is a direct result from how poorly they are trained and treated by the upper management at Wal-Mart. Please continue to respond to my complaints. Your comments are very helpful. I know a lot of other people who have had the same experiences I have had. I am confident they would also like to see a few changes at Wal-Mart.
There have been several occasions where I've seen Wal-Mart employees stealing from the cash register. This is how they do it: I give the cashier $10 for a purchase, but they give me a receipt that stated I gave them $20. I usually don't catch this until I get home. There have been times when the cashier have failed to give me a receipt for a purchase. Once I make it home from the store, I empty my pockets and notice I only have the cash the cashier handed me and no receipt. I feel very passionate about this issue. For years, I have experienced appalling, if not illegal, behavior from Wal-Mart employees. I am ready to put an end to it. This site has helped me to realize that I don't have to put up with poor customer service from Wal-Mart anymore. I do not want other customers treated the way I have been treated.
Thanks for letting me know that without pictures, everything I say is "hearsay." I suppose I didn't want to get involved. I just wanted to vent, and maybe, things would change over time. Now I realize Wal-Mart will never change if customers don't complain directly to corporate. I've read the other Wal-Mart complaints and responses to those complaints. I believe the people defending Wal-Mart are Wal-Mart employees.
I encourage any customer, who has a grievance with Wal-Mart, to please submit a formal complaint documenting names, times, and detailed description of what happened - along with a copy of your receipt. I believe if everyone complains, maybe Wal-Mart's customer service will improve. This complaint is for 2 Wal-Marts located in Chicago: 1300 Des Plaines Ave., Forest Park, IL 60130, (708) 366-3608 and 4650 W. North Ave., Chicago, IL 60639, (773) 252-7465.

I recently reported an accident that occurred at my local Walmart here at Copperas Cove, TX. This happened approximately at 2:45pm at 08/22/09. I was in the refreshment isle picking up a 24 pack of Pure Life bottled water which was placed on a stack at least 5 1/2 feet high. When I proceeded to put the package in my cart, the next package had slid off the stack and onto my shin and foot area. When this occurred, there was a worker placing the Sam's Choice water onto stacks less than 5ft. away and did not bother to ask if I was okay. I even said, "Ouch," because it did hurt me. Those 24 packs of bottled water are not light (about 30 pounds) and coming off of a shelf that is at least 5ft. high, it felt like 100 pounds. I was nice enough to put the package back up on the shelf upside down.
I left the isle in search of a manager, and felt I should have gotten the associate's name. I went back to the isle and the associate was not there. I also noticed the water pack I had put back on the stack was moved into the upright position. At this time, my shin had started to burn from where the package had fallen on me. I went to check out and asked the cashier where I was to go to file an incident report. She called the manager and I proceeded to explain what had happened to me and filled out a report.
I went home and looked at my shin. It is bruised and swollen from where the 24 pack of water had fallen on to me. I called my local authorities and told them what happened. They had told me to contact Walmart to find out the procedure for this type of accident. I have already taken pictures of the area where the package had fallen onto me. I would like to find out information on how to file a formal suit regarding this incident.
I feel as a large and well-known company, safety should be a priority. The packages of water bottles should have been on shelves, rather than one shelf staked up sky-high. This incident may have been avoided if proper shelving was in use. If I had put the package of water under the cart, I could have had serious back/neck injury. I have always been a satisfied customer; however, this incident has put a damper on what I felt was a decent department store.

My question is, are these two scams?

On two separate occasions, we came into the store and bought items that we did not leave the store with, due to the fact the cashier did not check the bag station to see if we had all of our belongings. On both occasions, we had to go back to the store to get our belongings. Mind you, we work all day and just want to go home and cook dinner and go to bed. On these occasions, we did not get to go to bed till very late and the customer service department wasn’t very understanding. In fact, they were rude and unconcerned. I feel that I am a paying customer and deserve some consideration. Is this how Walmart do their business? The impact of these occasions cost me time, gas, and aggravation.

My chief complaint is the shopping carts. I honestly refuse to use any of them, as 95% of them are ready for the trash - wheels clanking, sticking, almost falling off. Everywhere through the store, you see carts deserted because they either don't work or are so loud and annoying. I'm most concerned for the elderly. Unfortunately, I have opted to shop elsewhere because of the situation. Someone should really look into some repairs or new carts.

I thought you may be interested in my complaint about the store's air conditioning. This was the 3rd time that I have been in the Clinton store in the last 7 days, and the store was very uncomfortable. I noticed the little checker, and she was perspiring just like I was. I had more shopping to do, and I left and went to the other grocery store to finish my shopping. I found it very cool and completed my shopping. I know that we have an outstanding manager in Jane, and this time, I did not find her to express my concern to her. The humidity has been very bad here for the past few days, and it was not cool in the store. Thank you.

The assistant managers at the Bastow, CA Wal-Mart allow their favors to be bought by lazy employees. The lazy ones are allowed to sit in the manager's office and chat with some of the assistant managers for hours, while others supposedly doing the same job are out on the floor doing all the work. The lazy ones are allowed to do this, because they bring food, Starbucks, and presents to some of the assistant managers. Then, in turn, these so-called managers allow the lazy ones to sit in the office and get promotions without giving the hard workers an interview.
Also, the hard workers are constantly chastised by assistant managers, because the lazy ones are in the manager's office talking falsehoods about the hard workers. That way, if they are talking about others, then the lazy ones feel better about their selves. Favoritism runs ramped in this stores. So many really good employees have left for other jobs and been promoted because of that hard work.

My complaint is everyone, including Wal-Mart, is selling the eco-friendly shopping bags; but God forbid, you take them in there to use on a grocery shopping trip. I don't think in their training, they go over packing them. You use them just like you do the regular plastic bags people. You don't put the chocolate donuts up on end or turn the cakes on their side, or put 15 cans of dog food in one bag just because you can. I'm just really tired of the "look" I get every time I say I have my own bags, and I'm a nice person, so I haven't said anything, because what I want to say is "Keep the attitude, you sold me the bags, and by the way, I will bag my own groceries," which by the way, I end up doing most of the time.
Don't tell me how eco-friendly you are as a company, when this crap happens every time I go to a Wal-Mart; and believe me, I've changed Wal-Marts more than once. When I found out they are all that way, I just go to the one closest to me and prepare for the snotty cashier.

We had spent around $280 for miscellaneous items on 8/14/09, including a small pork loin roast. The meat looked lean, was well within the date on it and just the right size for the two of us ($5.04). We left the store approximately 1:15 went straight home, put the meat in the fridge to prepare around 3:30. I started cutting the plastic it was sealed in and a strong odor began emitting. I cut it open a little more and had hubby use his sniffer. "That's rotten" were his words. He put his shoes back on, took the meat that I had left inside the plastic and had tied up inside a Wal-Mart bag as snugly as I could.
On a Friday afternoon, one person working in customer service (now they are also in the business of Mr. Payroll cashing some payroll checks) made for a very, very long line. My husband had to wait about 25 minutes and someone (could not read her name as it was so covered with stickers) whose badge read Risk Dept was called to assist CS. Her manner showed this did not please her. As most act, it is beneath their status with the store to be called to work a register as they have a radio.
She, of course, was the clerk my unfortunate husband ended up in front of (finally). She queried him as to when the meat was bought, what time it was bought as he is standing there with the receipt in his hand for her. He told her about 2 and 1/2 hours ago and that he wanted his money back for the spoiled meat. She told him to just go pick out another package. He informed her that he did not want another pack of any meat, just the $5.04 spent and that he had asked me to never buy any food products at Wal-Mart again.
She finally counted out the money to him. No way was she going to open that bag as by this time it was really reeking. She just threw the bag over behind her as she was miffed at even having to deal with a shopper (guess not her job). I would not be the least bit surprised to find that 5 or 6 hours later that same piece of meat being put back on the meat shelf for some other unfortunate shopper to take home had I not cut the packaging along its side, but would not swear it didn't get put back anyway.
We have seen frozen food sitting in the shoe dept, fresh meat in automotive. Management here in Odessa would say, "Oh, nothing like that goes on in this store" as we have been told that by managers in the past regarding previous shopping experiences. No more food comes into this house from Wal-Mart nor jugs of tea that are soured at their opening on the day of purchase! I just wish someone in corporate would do whatever is necessary to fix this store, but calling 1-800 Wal-Mart is about as satisfactory as the associates with "How May I Help You" plastered on their vests. If you make eye contact with them, they run the other way as fast as they can (probably as fast as they have moved all day). The attitude is "I showed up. You expect me to work too?"
Come on, consumers. They may be big, but give the local grocery stores, Target, Dollar General, etc. your bucks for a while and even this giant will feel the pinch.

I entered the electronics department of Wal-Mart on Saturday, August 15 at approximately 1:00pm to purchase a Wii controller. I located the item and went to the register area in the electronics department. There was a gentleman assisting another couple and another worker standing by a cash register. I stood by a register waiting for service to purchase my product. I continued to wait while the lady (approximately 4 feet away) took phone brochures from a box and placed them on a shelf. I continued to wait for some time, when she finally looked towards me and said "What do you need?" in a rude tone. I held up my item and said that I wanted to purchase it. She then said "Over here" again in a rude tone of voice.
I stepped over approximately 4 feet to the register, where she was standing, and paid for the product. She never thanked me or anything. As I was walking away, the gentleman who was helping the other customers stated to her that they wanted to purchase something, and her response was "Here's the register." I shop a lot at this store, and I do not appreciate being treated like I was taking precious time from her.

Yes, I purchased many items. The lady that bagged them put too many items in the bag because when I got home to unload them, one bag broke and a big can fell on my big toe. It broke the skin and it started to bleed and was very painful. I ended up going to the hospital because I was in so much pain. I tried to put ice on it and took some pain medicine. I thought I broke it but I did not. My hospital bill was $125 plus prescription. I think Wal-Mart is responsible for my pain and suffering and my financial bills. Doris was really nice and took my complaint. Oh, I was at the St. Robert store. First off, I work as a supervisor with Wal-Mart stores. I'm tired of hearing all these complaints about the associates, the stock, and customer service. You need to realize that these associates, including middle- to lower-level managers are under constant pressure and are not being compensated for their work load salary-wise. You have to deal with upper management complaints on top of the same customer complaints I probably hear more than three times a day.
I think people come to these stores and let their frustrations out on the associates. If, as a customer, you have a complaint, take it up with a store manager, co-manager, or assistant manager; or call home office. Any other supervisor or associate will not have the authority or information to do something about your frivolous complaints. I'm surprised more associates don't snap and attack some of these customers. I've seen this happen.
We're human. We don't make as much as you think working here, for most. This place is their only option for a job. I, as with a lot of other associates, hope to see some of you whiners off the clock, so we can handle the situation outside of your safety blanket of mindless Wal-Mart lawsuits. My advice is show Wal-Mart associates some decency and humanity, and you will be surprised how helpful they can be.

Back 2.5 years ago, I purchased a large screen plasma TV. I bought the extended warranty for $199.00. My TV went on the blink and was picked up by a service company A-1 Quality TV. They advised me 10 days later that the TV was not repairable and someone from the warranty department would get a hold of me. Seven days later in fact there was a message on my answering machine saying they were shipping out a new TV. I received the TV and there was no picture, just sound. I immediately called the warranty company back and they said that someone will get a hold of me the next business day.
Five days later I finally called them back. Three days later, I received a call again on my answering machine directing me to take the TV to my local Walmart. This is where it got interesting. The gentleman at Walmart told me they do not handle that brand only their on line stores do. I said no problem I would just get a different model. The original purchase price of my TV was $988.00. The one they sent me was $550.00. So needless to say, the store would only credit the $550.00 not the $988.00. So, I dragged the TV back home and again explained my dilemma. They assured me someone would call. No one called so I called back. Again, was told someone would get with me by the close of business. I stayed on the phone till I could get an answer, at which time, I finally was told basically tough take it up with the manufacturer.
I was never rude to these people and only asked for a resolution to my problem and waited patiently. I have now contacted Walmart Customer Help line. They have told me someone will get back to me in 2 business days. The TV has been broken for a month. Oh, when I called after I received the TV, the guy I spoke to said I accepted the resolution. I was never given any options. They left a message saying this is what they were shipping. The warranty stated they will replace with something as good or better. This is not the case. Seeing I cannot even get a TV from Walmart with the monies they are offering me basically 50% of the original value of my original purchase. The resolution team is a joke. They don’t call back. They don’t try to work with you and basically do nothing to try to help you.

I just had a baby so I'm still trying to cope with dizziness and fatigue. I was on the verge of blacking out so I ran to grab a drink because I had a long line of customers so I didn't have time to go wait in line to pay just yet. Ms. Emma, the CSM for that day, approached me and asked if I had a receipt for my drink and I informed her of my present state and she walked away. She then returned and informed me that I was needed in the manager's office. When I got there, the manager told me I was being terminated because I committed theft. I had not left the store with the drink; therefore, I don't understand how it's theft. The drink is a buck fifty. I could have easily paid for it, but instead, I was terminated for false theft and I really don't understand why. Now I have to look hard and pray that I can get a job to take care of my child. I went to the pet department one night to purchase some joint supplement for my dog. There were only two bottles on the shelf. I picked up the first one and the cap was very loose so I put it back and took the other one. The next morning, when I opened the bottle, it was half empty. I counted only 28 out of 60 pills that were supposed to be in the bottle. These pills are $14.95 a bottle, which I consider to be a fair amount of money to spend but I only get half a bottle.
I returned to the store that same day with my receipt, waited in line for about 10 minutes, only to be told that they could not take back an open bottle. I did not argue, but I was disappointed and walked away. The store greeter who had checked in my package on the way in asked how I had made out, and I explained my problem. She said I should go back and ask to speak to a manager. I did, and I waited in line for another 20 minutes and had to leave for an appointment.
I guess my point is there is a definite problem with this product on the shelf, which the girls at the service desk did not even address. I did not open this bottle and use any, someone must be taking these pills right from the bottle and returning it to the shelf. Who knows what else they could be doing, and I think this is a problem. It's probably not the only product it's happening to. I know I won't be buying them there anymore.

The rental space manager proceeded to tell Wal-Mart's store manager that it was her job to let the public know of their services. The Wal-Mart manager said he didn't care, and that the rental store cannot have any signs pointing out of their rental space facing out towards the customers of Wal-Mart. The rental store manager was about in tears because of the way Wal-Mart manager's tone of voice, and the fact that he was saying that she was not allowed to perform her job to do the duties and standards of their company.
I believe that if someone is paying rent to Wal-Mart or any store for that matter, they shall have the right to promote their product all over their rental property if they want to. This store manager, Larry **, is the most unprofessional store representative that I have ever seen. He should be removed just for the way he made that poor girl feel in front of me and the other customers. I could see that she was completely embarrassed by this man. I will no longer shop Wal-Mart until this man is gone. If he is what Wal-Mart sets their standards to as a store manager, then I will gladly take my money elsewhere.
No man should ever talk to a woman the way he did, especially just for her trying to do what her job trained her to do. My daughter and her friend were at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago around noon shopping for things they needed to buy (which they did end up buying some products). They were just walking around the store looking at stuff, talking normally to each other. Later they came back at around 8 looking at clothes (they weren't even talking to each other much). When Mike (the manager) came over and asked them in a rude tone if they needed help finding anything, their response was, “No, we're just looking.” Then he rudely stated that they were there several times already that day. He also rudely asked what did they buy last time they were here (which he had no right to know) and he also didn’t give them any time to answer. After he said demandingly they'd need to leave the premises, he also walked them to the door like they were stealing or criminals which made an embarrassing situation for them. Later I came back to the store to complain to him for kicking my daughter and her friend out for simply shopping. He completely changed his excuse and said they were disturbing customers. I responded that they weren't doing so (at this point he was very angry). He stated that he has the right to kick out anyone he wanted.
After this occurred my daughter came home crying because she knew she did nothing wrong. My daughter was very emotionally upset over this; it was a very stressful situation for her. She doesn't feel comfortable going back to Wal-Mart at all, which is where she did a majority of her shopping. This caused her to be scared to even shop at Wal-Mart (which is one the main stores in our town), let alone buy something in fear she would be yelled at for just looking at a product. Her being 17 makes this very challenging for her. I think that Mike owes both girls an apology for the way he treated them. As for a manager, he shouldn't show anger and he should have been more considerate of others’ feelings and talked like a mature adult.
