    DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I placed my order on 11/14/2022. I have made over 25 emailed requests to return my item. No one responds to my requests and when you call, it is a recording - you never reach a human and you can not return your items... BUT they charged my card same day I placed my order. VERY UNSATISFIED - this Christmas gift was for a friend. I will never purchase from them again. I prefer a zero star but Consumer Affairs makes you put a star.

    I placed an order Nov 20th and my credit card was charged immediately. It’s been 41 days. Despite numerous attempts to reach customer service there has been no return communication. The “chat bot” indicates the order is processing. I don’t know if the item is backordered or even coming. But, I don’t want this item now because Pier1 has failed on many levels. Feels dishonest to accept my money and for communication to die. Putting in “service requests” are a dead ends. UNRESOLVED AND UNRESPONSIVE. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift. Due to the Pier1’s numerous failures, I have disputed the charge with my credit card company.

    Placed an order 12/7, received confirmation email 12/8, money taken from my account. No further correspondence from Pier 1. Customer service (only available thru email/chat) now reports they cannot locate the order. I even sent them a copy of their email confirmation of the order. I have filed complaints with the AG in TX, AG in my home state and with the BBB. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUNCH OF THIEVES!!! BUYER BEWARE.

    I ordered an ornament. It was on sale. It had a code. I put the code in and somewhere in hitting submit the code was gone. I hit cancel. It showed it canceled and it didn't however. I didn't realize that before reordering it properly so now they have over 50 dollars. Haven't heard anything on shipping and it's been over a week. This was a Christmas present. I emailed them. They emailed me back to let me know they had a lot of emails to go through like really it's been days and I've heard nothing. I just want my money back and I'll never order from there again. It's no wonder their stores are all closing. They have horrible customer service.

    In mid October I ordered a pair of nightstands. Both arrived two weeks later, damaged. I submitted a ticket to customer service with detailed photos and description of the damage. I received no response. I then emailed, customer service.... no response. I then resubmitted the photos through an online chat. Finally I received a response. I was asked if I would accept the damaged items for an additional 20% off. I declined and asked for a refund. It's been 3 weeks with no correspondence from Pier 1. I have damaged items and they have my $600 +. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed.

    I placed an order 2 months ago & received everything, BUT the actual item I placed the order for. I was receiving apologetic emails for a couple weeks, until I started responding & asking for more information. It's been a month & no new updates, but they took my money!     Your customer service sucks!!!! I have never received this order--it's been nearly two months!!! After communicating over several weeks, you still have not refunded my money and I'm now reviewing you on every social media outlet I can find. I have disputed the charges with my bank and will never order from Pier1 again!! I have received multiple emails from you stating that you are embarrassed that my order has not yet shipped. When I said to cancel the order--because I needed it a month ago-- you have ignored my request and refused to refund my money.

    So I ordered an in stock table said shipping in 3-5 days. 8 days later email says delays. Check 5 days later. Nothing. So I ask to cancel. They say, "Well it should ship in a few days" --- yet again and oh they will give me 20% store credit if I wait. 100% store credit if I want to cancel. Well if they never ship anything how on earth can they keep my money? My sister has been waiting 3 months for a pillow also listed as in stock. The table I ordered is still listed as in stock but they can give no estimate for possible delivery. How can this be legal. You can have a no refund policy but never deliver the product or maybe you deliver in a year? They have no idea how long it could take. I highly doubt the product was in stock. Hopefully someone can get me my money back. I will never order from this place again. Not trustworthy.

    Their new “REWARDS” program is super shady. They add a $10 dollar charge to your order and there is no way to take it off. You will then incur a monthly $10 charge. I emailed repeatedly to opt out. Each time I received an email touting the benefits of the rewards program and requesting a reply if I REALLY wanted to opt out. It took 4 emails for me to finally stop the monthly $10 reward charge. Way too much of a hassle for what they offer. This customer is permanently gone

    Be very careful when ordering from here. I ordered a coffee table that was never delivered and was not given a deliver date so I cancelled the order after a month. I asked for a refund since I never received the table and was told the company policy was store credit for returns. But I never got the table so how could I return it?? I guess they're doing so well that they don't need returning customers!

    I ordered rustic woodlands diffuser. It arrived and no smell! Just like water! I’m very disappointed. I used as per instructions. I felt something was off because in the past when I bought this it was perfect!

    Updated on 11/14/2022: After bombarding the customer support email with requests to refund the $9.99 membership that was "strangely added back" to my order and the other item that was not delivered, I finally received a refund. Everything I was told along the way was untrue.

    1- Orders cannot be edited as they are in processing <5mins after placement. Later told the reason they couldn't remove the "strangely added back" $9.99 membership and the "missing item" was because they have 8 days to process the order, plus 5 days to deliver. I was on day 15+.

    2- The discount received on my order was due to the $9.99 membership not the discount code I applied- really! I went back and recorded all steps to place a 2nd order using a promo discount- the discount was applied without the $9.99 membership. I knew this from the 1st order, but wanted to prove the case by recording the screen (No, I didn't complete the 2nd order. It was just a test).

    3. I was told if I insisted on a refund they would charge me the difference between the discount the $9.99 membership gave me and the original price. However as per point 2 above that was not correct- however I said, "Go ahead then, charge me the difference and REFUND the $9.99 and the missing item."

    I literally replied to every promo and support email (about 5 a day) with a firm email in large print (demanding a refund not a credit). Plus I went back on to the site and recorded every step of placing another order (which I was not going to complete) and every time I removed the $9.99 membership then added another item to my cart, the system re-added the $9.99 membership. I fully believe that had I not bombarded them non-stop and notified them of the above screen recording as evidence - I would still be brushed off with a credit, when I have no intention of purchasing from them again. Such a shame how this company's service, business ethics have gone down hill. Buyer beware.

    Original Review: I placed an order and deselected the automatic $9.99 membership that they auto-add to your order. I checked the list of items - 7 candles and a snack /dip set. Added payment and clicked to check out, after the order completed processing the $9.99 membership was back on the order, yet it had been deselected and had disappeared from the list. Contacted Pier 1 - got the answering service that said to email, emailed and I got a text back saying they could not correct this (this was 5 mins after the order processed), not shipped, not charged, but they are not going to do anything.

    I then started getting promo emails from them so I replied to every email asking them to fix the issue and stop sending promos. I finally got a reply stating that the membership was cancelled and they had sent my request for refund to another team - nothing since. Today I received the 7 candles but not the snack set, no email stating that it was missing from the order or would be shipped. Reported them to BBB, bank says they will create a case and if no reply will refund the difference (we'll see). Happy to join any group action to get these issues sorted.

    I love Pier 1 and shopped there a lot when the company had storefronts. Now that they are 100% online, the products are the same but the customer service is terrible. If you need to make a return, good luck figuring out where to go on the web site to file a return. If you call the (888) number, the recording repeats that you can handle everything through the chat option on their web site. Here's my opinion to anyone purchasing from Pier 1. Make sure you purchase the correct product the first time. There are no CASH or Credit Card credits. It's all merchandise credit which would be OK if the return policy was just a little bit easier. I'm not certain I can continue to shop with Pier 1 online.

    Just like everyone else, I loved shopping at Pier 1. And just like everyone else, I ordered items online and never got them. Four phone calls, promises of a supervisor calling me back and three emails sent…. nothing! No product and no refund. I reported Pier 1 to my bank and they even said they know Pier 1 is a problem. Don’t order anything from them because your account will just keep saying “label created” but nothing will actually come.

    I ordered a watercolor photo which I understand will be unique but you can't tell what the picture is. Looks like colors of blobs on a canvas. It has runs all over like someone spilled water on it. You can't read the words on the picture. Do not order a picture like this from Pier One. You will be sorry and there is no exceptions on the return policy.

    My Elderly mother placed an order for a lamp, somehow entered a quantity of 3 vs 1. We contacted Pier 1’s customer service within minutes of submitting the order to correct the mistake. They stated it was too late. The order was already in process and there was nothing they could do. They would send return labels with the shipment so we could send 2 right back for a refund. The lamps arrived without the labels. We called and they had us generate them online. We returned the 2 lamps to receive confirmation of store credit. When I reached out to explain and ask for the refund we were expecting due to the mistake I was told ‘we don’t do refunds for any reason’. Buyer beware. Now we have a $300 credit to a store we have no interest in doing business with again.

    It's been more than 2 months since I made my first purchase, which was a rug, and another smaller item. After 3 weeks I did not have any information about my purchase, then they tell me that they are having problems delivering that item, they cancel me and force me to continue buying in their store, they did not give me my refund to my credit card. And to finish I have canceled a couple more times, they never have the items I want but they still don't want to refund my money. This store has become the worst to buy, my advice: do not spend there because your product will not arrive or your money will not be returned and you will end up buying things you do not want or need.

    I ordered $100 worth of goods. After 2 weeks and NO updates, I called and asked status. The items were not shipped yet. I then asked to cancel my order and refund the purchase. They said they offered me a 150% store credit. I said "no" and asked for a refund. He said "I will have to escalate this and you will get a email". After another week and NO communication, I called back. Again they wanted me to take a 150% store credit. When I said no, refund my money, they AGAIN said they needed to escalate this.

    After another day I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. At first they said there was no supervisor, but after arguing with them they said they had no "live transfer capability". After more arguing, they said they COULD transfer me but needed my name and address first. I reminded them that they said they had no "live transfer", so how all of a sudden were they able to transfer me. They then hung up on me. Contacted my bank and put in a fraudulent charge claim. This is just a scam, there is NO merchandise and they just take your money. Everyone you talk to is named "Mark" also.

    I placed 3 orders, all confirmed. A week later I inquired about status, since there was no movement. I was advised that all my orders were out of stock, and Pier 1 offered a 150% store credit, which I refused. I read other reviews, and the only way to process a quick refund is to file a dispute with your credit card company, which I did, and my refund was provided within a few days.

    Another week later, my husband received a tracking number for his same item and quantity, which he is gifting to a family member. I am frustrated how my husband placed his order 2 days after me, and received a tracking number, while I was told the item is out of stock for all 3 of my orders. Whether or not my husband's order will actually ship, since he has a tracking number is still a mystery. I am in disbelief, since my orders have all been cancelled and refunded, and I still continue to get emails that my order are still processing, after 3 weeks now. Pier 1 is not a legit company you can trust to do business with. They will frustrate the heck out of you.

    I purchased 2 Bar Stools $477 was charged to my credit card. It stated it was in stock & a FedEx number was created. It was never in stock, nothing was sent to FedEx. I emailed Pier1 customer service the following week & I was correct they didn’t have the items. I was sent a reply email stating that I could have a store credit & they would offered more $ for another purchase of something else. I declined and said I should of never been charged until the items actually shipped, just like every other company I’ve ordered from. Now the response is, it was sent to a different department & I should get a refund in 14-21 days. What?? They took my $ for a month. Scam be aware they show stock that isn’t there hoping you’ll buy something else with them.

    Be aware. With an order, you will be required to add an invisible subscription for $9.99. I kept seeing this on my card and simply thought it was a lingering part of my order of several items. Finally, after the third time (we are all busy, right?) I called. "Oh yes. You subscribed with your order in September." (Three months ago.) NO, I MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT. A subscription to PIER 1? Who subscribes to PIER 1? The products were substandard, however I kept them anyway to avoid the hassle and to keep the vendor in business. I always liked PIER 1. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. I have to go out of my way to find them. I will not order anything again.

    I have never experience nothing like this since I have been ordering online. I ordered 1 room spray and 3 oil fragrances. Instead of them sending me 3 oil fragrances they sent me 3 outdoor carpets. I reached out to them for 2 weeks before UPS picked up the carpets. I spoke to several service rep over and over until I asked to speak with a manager which I never did. I did finally receive the room spray but never received the oil. I will Never order from this website again. Please be aware.

    I cancelled by the phone order online in 8 minutes and and they accept this but after they charged money from my bank account. They sad it was too late because product was shipped - in 8 minutes!! THey told me I will return and gave me wrong wrong number of shipment company. Instead of USPS I was contacted during 4 days to UPS by phone # they provided. They emailed me with statement that they can give me store credit!!. Unbelievable! Do not make a business with PIER 1 if you do not want to have problems. Poor customer service with bad management.

    Have been using mail order for the past 18 months due to Covid. Had good experiences and a few mistakes. One of the companies that made a mistake was very good at fixing it, but NOT PIER 1. Pier 1 could not survive in retail and they will not survive in mail order either. They are worse at mail order than they ever were in retail. I ordered and paid for a coffee table. It was about $400 and had no instructions and no hardware (bolts, screws, etc...) After asking me to take pictures of everything, which I did immediately despite the fact that they wanted a picture of what DIDN'T ARRIVE??? What a joke! Just a delay tactic. Spoke to 6 people in 4 days, and no one ever called back and still have not even sent the hardware and instructions. I have a table top and bottom sitting in my living room and they cannot even manage to mail me the instructions and hardware that SHOULD have been in the package.

    No money back - no table - no return calls - no tracking number because they still didn't send the hardware. NOTHING has been done in 4 days except ,"I'm so sorry miss, please accept my apology miss, blah blah blah." They have the customer service people apologize over and over but DO NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO OWN THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT!!! Are they kidding me? The worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with -- take my advice and don't make my mistake. Nothing is worth this aggravation as there are PLENTY of good mail order companies out there.

    I ordered 4 dining chairs online totaling over $2,000. Once received (later than promised) they did not appear as pictured online and did not fit well in the space. I immediately replied to the email to the confirmation email to initiate the return process which got dragged out for days due to their slow response time. When they finally confirmed the return they sent me a link to their return policy which states they only give store credit and in select circumstances at that.

    I called to speak with someone verbally and was told that they do not refund money for any purchases and would receive store credit and 20% of my purchase back in "cash". This is not something that is told to customers prior to purchase! When viewing items and clicking the "Add to Cart" feature there is nowhere where it states a return policy or provides a link. When checking out there is nowhere where it states the policy or provides a link. When you receive email confirmation there is nowhere where it states the policy or provides a link. Had they do so I would have canceled my order and not even taken the risk of receiving an unwanted item for $2,000. Then to give me store credit when I cannot go to any in person store and get a good look at another product in person because they are all closed is a slap in the face. I will NEVER shop at Pier 1 ever again and advise everyone else to avoid them at all costs.

    Purchased 3 bar stools that stated they were leather. After 6 months the "leather" started to tear and realized this is not leather at all, but some cheap imitation leather. I addressed this with the store, they didn't do anything. I provided pictures and the original price tag (with description) to corporate office. After 3 months of going back and forth they decided they didn't want to refund my money, after showing proof. This retailer is over-priced for their false advertisement, cheap, phony materials, and very unprofessional in the way they handle disputes. I will not invest another dime in this store.

    They did not insulate the box with appropriate packing material so bowls, mugs and plates were shattered and chipped when they arrived. It was impossible to get customer service to do right by me. They are unethical & expect the consumer to pay for their negligence. Heinous business practice.
