The products at Belk are various and great. Many excellent sales and very quick shipping. No shipping costs with purchase > $99. I would recommend to anyone looking for most anything.

Shirts looked great when received. Washed as I always do with new items. They came out of dryer all wrinkled and looked terrible. I ran through dryer again to remove wrinkles and they looked terribly wrinkled. I think these must be a "knock off " illegal item as I doubt Izod would jeopardize their logo with such crap. You need to investigate whether these are an illegal use of Izod label. I would like a prepaid return label for these three shirts and a refund of $53.01 including tax.

My checking account has 2 pending charges against my available balance. 1 charge is for the entire order amount and 1 charge is for one item that shipped separately. I have a reference number I received from a customer service rep (**) in regards to this matter, but the additional charge (authorization) still remains. I need this matter cleared before any additional charges I'm expecting to clear my account come through. I can't wait 2-3 business days for the incorrect authorization to come off.

I purchased several items in one order. The items came in too small. When I called to find out how to return they say to me you have to pay to send them back. Okay upset because who still makes the consumer pay for returns. I wanted to reorder one of the items. They raised the price from 49.99 to 130.00 within days because they were having a buy 2 get one free sale. Still does not equal to the 150 it would have cost to buy 3. My return has been with them now for 3 days. I call to see where my credit is. They tell me it will take up to 15 days for them to process my credit. WHAT?! Why? You make me pay to return then take 15 days to credit me. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!

I opened an account with them a while ago. I have always paid off my credit card early. Never making a late payment of any kind. They have closed my account. Said that I had too many credit cards open and due to something that happened years ago that they have made the decision to close my account. I can say that I will never spend another dime of my money in Belk's. Personally if they don't want someone to have a credit card then don't allow them to get one. Don't let them open an account and then close it without telling them.

Last week Belk had an amazing sale on their Laredo and Dingo boots. I excitedly ordered many, many pair for myself and as gifts for others. The online experience was horrible because as I was trying to check out I kept getting messages that some items in my cart were no longer available. Knowing how amazing this sale was I wasn't surprised that things were selling out so fast so I was understanding and kept going through the process and updating my cart. After finally getting everything straight and assuring that all the items in my cart were still available, I finished the checkout process and got the email confirming my order. After a week of not receiving my packages I check online just to find that my order had been cancelled.
I call customer service to find out the reason for the cancellation and was advised that the items were out of stock. If said items were out of stock then they shouldn't have been sold to me. I ordered 12 or 13 pair of shoes and EVERY SINGLE PAIR was out of stock?! Additionally, only after calling customer service did I receive emails advising me of the cancellation. Upon reading these reviews I see that several others had a similar experience and were given various different excuses than what I'd received. Extremely disappointed in Belk. I understand that losing my business will not affect them but if they continue to conduct business in this manner they will continue to lose customers. I will never purchase from Belk again.

Belk put a sale on Laredo boots and dingo boots. I was on the site when the boots went on sale so I hurried and filled my cart full. A couple of pair I ordered was sold out so I immediately got an email after I place order and said they were out but I still had several pair that was being processed for delivery. A week went by so I call Belk. They tell me oh a shipping label has been created and I should receive my boots this week. I talked to several customer service on the days before and they all have had several stories as to why my boots were running late on shipping. Today I got cancelation notices on every pair I ordered. They said it was a system glitch and they could not sell those boots at that price! This isn’t the first time or the second time that this has happened. THEY DO NOT WANT TO HONOR THEIR PRICES!!!

I placed a order for Laredo & Dingo boots they had on sale in a flash sale. Bought several pairs checked out and received confirmation of order on the 15th. I went online to check order and said cancelled. So I called customer service and was given 2 different excuses as why the order was cancelled. 1 They’re not available (they were when I ordered them). 2 It was a site error (yea maybe you disproved them). Then I was offered a $20 credit and 20% off next order (No thanks. Don't like how you do business) then asked to speak to supervisor. She said the vendor cancelled their order. Ok? Which one is it told her seems like your company just wanted a bunch of people’s information and credit card #s.
She then said she would have a senior supervisor contact me within 24 hr. Waited no one called. I called back and was supposedly connected to senior supervisor which was extremely rude. He told me no one was getting their boots. All orders was cancelled. Asked to speak to his supervisor. He said I would have to call corporate & hung up on me. Didn't give me the number or anything. So called them still waiting for a response back. They had pulled all the boots offline but now they are starting to show back up at a lot higher price. They just don't want to honor their price. Will not ever order from here again.

It is super sad for me. I bought lots of useless Estée Lauder products so that I could buy 2 Estée Lauder boxes (60dollars). However, Belk sent me everything except my kits. What's worse, they did not provide prepaid label, so it meant I had to pay extra mailing postage to return these "Rubbishes". Now I do not dare return them, because they may not pay money back to me. They are neither responsible nor efficient. I will never buy anything from Belk.

After having a Belk Rewards Card for several years and receiving statements in the mail every month Belk changed my account to paperless billing without asking or receiving confirmation that I had been notified of the this change. For the first time ever I was late on paying my balance because I count on receiving the statement to know when I have a balance. I do not use or make purchases on the Belk Rewards card every month and when you have no balance they do not send you a statement therefore I assumed I had no balance that month when I didn't receive a statement. I do not read all the emails because your email inbox is always bombarded with ads for sales and such but just happened to read one stating my account was past due. When I tried calling customer service to speak to someone all you get is an automated answering service that never allows you to request to speak to a person.
To me this is very poor customer service. When I told the automated answering service that I wanted to cancel my Belk Rewards Card I was sure that a person would come on the line to inquire why. Nope. This was all done through an automated process as well. This speaks volumes about this company and how they feel about their customers. Since the company was taken over by Sycamore Partners Equity Firm, Belk is no longer a family friendly family run company. It's just another big corporation out to make as much money in as short a period of time as it can and then will probably be closing up the doors like Kmart, Roses, and JC Penney. I will take my business to Macy's or any other department store besides Belk from now on since I know just how Belk values their loyal customers.

I will not purchase anything else online from Belk.com. I ordered 3 lady's tops, and paid $9.50 for shipping. In less than 45 minutes, I realized I had ordered the wrong size. Ordered a pair of $60 men's slippers online on 2/6. On 2/12, received an email saying they cancelled the order. These were to be part of a birthday present. Since we were on a cruise, I didn't get the email until we got back. I called Belk and cust serv said it was cancelled because they were out of stock. What? They appeared to be in stock when I placed the order, and it's still showing as available today. Doesn't make any sense! Belk needs to have a system in place that shows an item to be out of stock when you order it.

I have been a Belk customer for a few years. The lack of online billing information is super concerning. When a purchase is made there is very little if any information regarding the item so it is very difficult for me, the consumer, to know what I am being charged for, etc. The same goes for returns. When I have made a payment, it is so difficult to know what is what. The only way to shop with Belk is to pay the balance in full and then wait to make sure the amount is applied properly, etc. Whoever is managing Belk needs a wake up call. It is a shame because their merchandise is great but all other aspects of Belk need revamping and change.

I now have no gift for my niece to open, and I am sure it will not make it here by Christmas at this point. Called yesterday and was on the line for 42 minutes. CS Reps are all misinformed. Can't get a manager on the line. On hold forever. Poorest customer service I have experienced in years. Signed up for "first time" email coupon code-24 hour wait in email. Called and asked if I were to make the purchase now as item was on sale, upon receipt of email coupon, could I call and have it applied after purchase. CSR said yes. This day and age, what company wouldn't do that for a customer? So naturally I believed him. Made the purchase. Eight hours later, got the email coupon. Called to have it applied. Told it can't be done. They actually recommended I return the purchase (at my expense) and repurchase with the coupon.
Who operates like this today? What a farce. What a total backwards way of running a business. How difficult could it be to just apply the coupon? Anywhere you shop today, they take expired coupons, price match, price adjust after purchase (over the phone no less). I mean today's companies bend over backwards for their customers. This is not an unreasonable request. I will never shop with them again. They need to train their reps and prioritize the customers.

This company is a joke - They check your credit score "periodically" and if they don't like what they see, they LOWER your credit limit with them. They don't care about your credit history with them, never late, never even been close to the limit, but they will lower it down to almost nothing and there is NOTHING you can do about it, except, cut it up and throw it away, what an insult. Good riddance morons. I will gladly give someone else my money. Don't waste your time with this kind of stupidity.

Buyer beware when purchasing from the fine jewelry department online at Belk. I had seen a ring in the store and later decided I wanted to purchase the ring which was now not available in the store. The saleswoman ordered the ring and had it sent to my home. I'm assuming this allowed her a commission versus me purchasing online from home. The ring arrived and the stone & ring was larger than I am comfortable with. I saved all the paperwork, original box, tag, etc. and went back to the store within two weeks of purchase. Was expecting to return ring & credit my Belk card. I was told there was another tiny light blue tag attached to the ring with small print "cannot be returned without this tag" (he showed me one from another piece of jewelry on display). I returned home to look in my house and could not locate the tag. I am not even sure it came with tag. I only remember a white tag.
Now I am stuck with the ring I do not like. If this is their policy they should have a large warning on the jewelry box itself. The ring box was shipped in a much larger box. The item was still available online, etc. Lesson learned and will not purchase again. I understand they are trying to prevent fraud, etc but a tiny little tag- and I'm not even certain came with the ring. Again, I had all the other original tags. Why would I have not saved it. Thanks.

I placed an online order at 6:17 AM CST on 10-5-17. Received confirmation e-mail with # to call for cancellation. Called at 7:07 AM CST on 10-5-17 to cancel. Was told they couldn't cancel because I didn't call to cancel within 15 minutes of placing the order. Belk online supervisor said notice should be on order confirmation. It wasn't there or in the e-mail notification I received. Asked supervisor to tell me where the notice was and she couldn't tell me. Only that order could not be canceled and would be sent in 5-7 business days (couldn't change shipping method so I could receive sooner) and she would send me a free return label.
Now my $99.95 will be tied up in my bank account until I receive order AND they receive it once I send it back. I have looked at Belk's website and there is NO NOTICE that you have 15 minutes from time online order is placed to cancel. NO NOTICE ANYWHERE ON WEBSITE, ORDER CONFIRMATION OR E-MAIL CONFIRMATION. I have never, ever heard of a company that gives you 15 minutes to cancel an online order. VERY DISSATISFIED.

I purchased a suit top and bottom from Belk.com at 6:30 PM. It showed up on my bank account at $151.03. At 8:42 PM the same day an additional charge of $221.56 showed up on my bank account. The next morning I called Belk.com and explained my situation. The lady told me that this call happens all the time but their policy is to charge full price for the item and then charge the sales price and upon shipment I shall receive my full price back of 221 around 5 to 7 business days.
I told her that I did not authorize a $221 payment to Belk. She said it was in the FinePrint under the link terms and conditions. Of course this is going to be in a size 2 font on their website where nobody looks. I will never ever do business with Belk again considering the fact my $151 purchase became a $372 purchase. Had I not had the money in there to cover the charge, it would have overdrawn my account. This is a very very backwards way to sell items. I have been shopping online for years and I have never came across this type of issue. I do not recommend Belk or any of their products especially when purchasing online. I have called Belk, no less than four times. The first time, I was told the post office had it. I called the post office that day, and they did not have it. The second time, I was told that it never got shipped and that they could resend it. The third time, I called they supposedly put a claim ticket on it and sent it to corporate and the would call me in two days. I waited three days, and called back yet again. The fourth time, I was told corporate was still reviewing it and as of today whoever was supposed to call me has not.
In the meantime, I called my credit card company to see if they could help me, they discovered that the one item was never processed to begin with eventhough I still more than enough available balance on my card. It all began when I was with a friend, I found a really pretty dress and it was $100. With the discount the card offered me I paid $51. So, the first month payment goes around, I paid $25 the 24th. The second month comes around for the next payment of $25 which is nearly my complete purchase. Then I read it says another late fee. I was on time paying it. I called and the late fee got lifted. Then the third month comes around, I get another late fee third time. I get a late fee when I've been paying on time but this time it came with a letter saying "Because I was not paying my payments on time, my spending privileges will be discontinued."
I called customer service. At this rate, my balance was over $100. I asked "Why in the world am I getting charged late fees when I'm not late at all?" The nice gentleman who dealt with me told me that it could be my account and to give him the information and try a payment to see if it goes through. It did. It was a very same info I did on the last two. So, on top of having to pay 49$ by tomorrow while I already paid 37$ to get back my spending privileges at Belk. All of this over a $51 dress, I am spending money that I'm not even using on the card but no clothes a show for it.
I advise anyone who like having money in their account to not get a belk card. This system is flawed will mess up your account number. I explained the situation and received a response from Harley. She said that once the items ship I will be refunded the second pending charge for $30.50. I wanted to know why this would ever be their process. They have held the purchase amount of $67.54. When I tried to get a better explanation she responded with "Like I said you will get the second chargeback." It is a horrible practice. They would just make up some amount and take other charges from my account. I will never ever order from Belk again. This Christmas I decided the bulk of my shopping online. I also decided not to use a single credit card and pay interest to Capital One or Amex etc. I used my bank debit card and made a purchase on Black Friday and it purchased and shipped just fine. Two weeks later an additional order that I placed on Belk.com was a simple and easy proccess; so I thought. I see the hold on my bank account for the 120 dollars and think no problem. I then get an shipping notice about 48 hours later and the next day I see an additional pending charge for 120 dollars. I call customer service and get the same answer that it seems many other shopper have gotten. The whole double hold/ship thing. It happy about it but no major deal; I'm not Bill Gates but I have extra money I keep as a cushion on credit cards should I need them.
I was told by some rep who was in a super hurry to get off the phone that one item was going to ship later and that I would only be charged for 105 and they would charge me for the last item when it ships. So the holds fall off and a 105 dollars clear my account. I wake up this am and I have another 120 dollar hold on my account. I call customer service and I get the same runaround that they must read from a script and per the customer service rep this was normal, ahh it was my banks fault not Belk's, and it's Saturday so no manger is available to speak with me. I guess she ran out of script because all she could say was to read the terms and condition on the website.
Then my wife got involved and called up there. She is real sweetheart but she only had two settings. Sweetheart or Mrs. Hyde, wow she got to a manager in less than 45 seconds. He kelp telling us it was only a temp hold and I would only be charged when the item shipped. That they have no record of the "duplicate hold" and that it was the bank that placed the hold. Well that's where they stepping the landmine. He was adamant that I had been charged for anything yet. It would have the above mentioned actual charge of 104ish and then be charged for the last item when it arrives. But that they had not charged me anything? Newsflash: I can see the actual debit for 103 and some cents. He told her that couldn't be possible as the items had not shipped. Too bad I couldn't FaceTime him because I have the box of shipped items in my hand.
So then he reversed his position and said it all has to do with my bank's policy and procedure and I should contact them. Easy enough my wife is an OFAC analyst at the bank we use. She made it rather clear and simple that it's not a bank's policy to randomly drive out money unless requested and if the bank was having an issue with double posting she would have to be at work in the Data Center on a Saturday am trying to fix problems. It ended with him giving us the last item that was waiting to ship at no charge. That he would send it "up to cooperate" yada yada yada. Thanks for the offer but I don't want a free 17dollar sweater. I just want to ensure that I'm not gonna going to continue to get multiple charges. I'm buying the clothes not renting them. So I'm not going to rant and get all pissed off.
My solution is simple I speak with my money and I'll not shop there again online or in store. I seriously doubt Belk's will miss my business but it's the principle of the matter. We have a Belk's Men's Store at one of the malls and I like shopping there. Oh well!!! As a side note something similar happens about 15 years ago with GM and an very inexpensive part. They got to keep the 45 dollars or so but seven new car purchases between my wife and I over the past fifteen years. Not a single one is a GM product. I refuse to own one. I'm sure GM doesn't miss me but over a 45 dollar part I have enjoyed the F150s, Volkswagens, and Mustangs I've bought. Now that I'm getting ready for my midlife crisis I would love to buy one of the new Camaro's but I can get a decent Porsche for a little more.

I had ordered two pairs of boots online to find that I had been double-charged for my purchase as one of these charges was an account hold. So basically, if you plan to order anything online, plan on paying double right away and the waiting 5-7 business days to get the double payment back in your bank account. I paid about $60, but was charged $120. Ridiculous. So I call customer service wanting to just cancel my order, and the man said you can only cancel your order an hour after it's been made or when you receive the products. You should be able to cancel an order at any time for any reason. In the meantime, I'll be double-charged for items I don't have yet, and I'll be waiting almost a week until I get MY money back that they used as an account hold. I wouldn't recommend shopping online, unless you're okay with being double-charged and unexpectedly being out of money you thought you had.
UPDATED ON 12/13/2016: If you decide to return something, you can expect to wait up to a month to see your money back in your bank account. I returned one of the two items I purchased on Belk, brought my box to a FedEx location shortly after receiving the item. It only took three days for the package to get where it needed to go, but found out that it can take up 15 days for the return to processed and to see the money in your bank account. 15 DAYS. All in all, it took at least a month from the date of purchase to the date I got the money back in my bank account.

My son and I felt discriminated since we walked it to the kids department. I had an empty box of Nike shoes that I brought home with my son toys in it. I was asked where were the shoes that belong to that box in a very rude voice by an employee from Belks. Then I felt that I was followed everywhere like if I was stealing something. My son got off the stroller and got under the rack for maybe 30 seconds. The employee hilar at him in a very rude voice to move from there. Then not even one minute later he did the same thing but this time this lady run towards him and grabbed him from his hand. At that moment my first reaction was to grabbed her arm and pull her away from my son. He was crying badly. I couldn't even continue shopping so I went ahead and paid for my items and left.
I called corporate, I received an apology and also from the manager from that local store. HE mailed me a two $5 gift card... I feel like that's a slap in the face. WHAT this lady did to my son was torture and now my son won't even want to go inside the store. That was one of my favorite stores but because of that lady I can't go in anymore since my son refuses to go in because he is still afraid of going in. We are talking a 4 yr old kid. They did a call tag on that order. FedEx came to pick it up before it was delivered. I called; the man I spoke with said that I was not charged for the order and maybe they caught it before it went out. Not true. I was charged for the order and received it about a week later. I called back and asked if I could have it picked up at work so I didn't have to leave it outside. He said no, that they will try 3 times to pick it up and leave it somewhere outside.
Later, I called and got another rep. She said I can get it picked up at work and that I would get an e-mail with a return packing slip. I didn't receive it, so I called again. This person repeated the part about FedEx coming 3 times. I wrote 3 times to the "contact us" asking for someone to contact me. This has been going on for 11 days and I have spent hours on the phone. I made all payments on time only to get a nasty letter saying that all of a sudden they "checked my credit" and were going to lower the max. No biggie, I still have never used the card. Finally, I reported it stolen, since she continued to use my card number without permission. That, however, is on me. I should have stopped it sooner. The biggest problem is when trying to pay it off, they refuse to take a prepaid credit card. WHY? As long as the money gets to you, why do you care in what form? I bought several items from Belk. Two identical pair of pants were marked the same size but one was significantly smaller. I have to pay to return the pants. One rep told me that I can't return multiple orders in the same package so returns would be expensive. If you buy something and it comes on sale, you only have 10 days to "price match" or you are stuck with the higher price. Of course, this is not written on the online store information anywhere. I called and was a few days short and they would only give me 10% off, although the pants that I had already bought were reduced 50%.
I found the entire experience to be labor intensive and expensive given returns. Some customer service reps were rude. (Some not). I will not be buying from Belks again. I am writing this review because I believe that online shopping is gaining popularity and as a consumer, it is my responsibility to help people determine if a seller gives the consumer a good, fair experience.

I asked another lady that walked by if she could help me. She said that was not her department.
I saw a young man that had walked up to the service desk. He never acknowledged my presence. I finally asked him if he could help me. He replied "Just a minute." He came over to where I was. He had some papers in his hand. He never put them down. He NEVER said "How can I help you?" He merely stood there. I ASKED him if there were any more shirts or sweaters like these anywhere in the store. He replied "No". I said "Thank you" and left. This was also debited from my checking account Saturday as soon as my order was placed. I called Belk in a few seconds to tell them I had only ordered one of each purse and I also told them the total wrong amount had been debited from my account even on a Saturday. The man I talked to said that was just a hold even though the hold as he said was already showing as a debit. I told him the amount was wrong he said not to worry the amount would drop off and the real amount would be shown as soon as the order shipped.
As of today Monday the 151.89 is still showing as a debit and my merchandise has not shipped. The amount should be 124.55 and that amount isn't showing the 151.89 is. When Belk tells you your account IS NOT debited until your order ships its a lie. The HOLD as they say is the same as a debit because that amount THEY sent to your bank even the wrong amount has that amount on HOLD and that means even though they told you your checking would not be debited until your items are shipped they have a HOLD on that amount on your account so you can't use that amount of money anyway.
This is to me a lie that Belk tells to everyone ordering on line. It wouldn't matter as much to me if they debited/held if it was the right amount and it wasn't. You get a different customer service person every time and I just got tired of repeating and being told "it is just a hold". If the order amount is FROZEN what difference is it?? Today I received an email saying my items had been shipped, but they were shipped separately. Ok, that's fine. Checked my bank online again, and they had charged me again for part of the order that was shipped. Huh? So I'm looking at the full amount, then part of the amount, both pending on my account. Such a hassle to spend all that time shopping only to discover at checkout that virtually nothing you were planning to be on sale is excluded. No wonder some Belk stores are going out of business!

Today and in recent past occasions, during my shopping trip through Belk Department Store, I've walked by the Clinique makeup counter and stopped to ask a question. Today was not unlike the other times in which the makeup lady answered my question as a "no, we don't have that here" and never offered to show me something else or to show me anything else. I'm sure I was obviously not rushing to get away from the counter but the makeup consultant/sales lady quickly moved onto the next customer with little regard for my presence at the counter. Each time it felt as if they thought I couldn't afford their makeup or wasn't pretty enough or rich-appearing enough to buy it. Little do they know I have a Belk card and it is paid up to date, despite the fact that I shop at Belk on a regular basis.

Almost laughable comedy of e-commerce errors and gaffs. Polo shirt was described as being "Polyester, cotton" (sic). I called customer service to ask what the actual content was for each of the fibers. (When polyester is greater than cotton content then it's just too sweaty to wear). Nobody knew what it was so the customer service woman said, "I assume that it means that it's all cotton with the polyester being the thread that form the waffle pattern." Dumbfounded, I tried to explain that it was most certainly not the thread that was being described in such detail. I asked to speak with someone who could determine the actual fiber content of this shirt and she, there was nobody she knew who knew any more than she did.
I call again and asked for the number for corporate so I could talk with the buyer who would certainly have the information. She said that the only way I could get the info is if she submitted an information request and I should hear back in two to four days. (So much for impulse purchasing.) I asked if she could possible call one of the stores that carried the item and ask a department person to walk onto the floor and look at the content tag on one of the shirts on display. She gave me the numbers of four stores. I called one and nobody would walk out and look at the item, saying only, "You should call customer service."
Bravely, I ordered one shirt. It arrived five days later in four sizes larger than what I ordered and what was stated on the enclosed shipping invoice. It was large enough to make a decent sized camping tent for climbers. It was inside a shipping bag, loose, crumpled and wadded up with not enclosure at all. It looked like it had been lifted from a laundry hamper. I called customer service and they are sending a replacement. I am waiting with excitement to see what new and unexpected piece of laundry arrives. Incidentally, the color stated for this shirt was" Aubergne" on one page and "Augerbine" instead of the proper spelling: Aubergine. Someone's cousin is writing the copy for this store.

I will never shop at this Belks again or any Belks for that matter. I always thought this was a cheap store but the day I ran into it is because I was pressed for time and could not make it to the Mall of GA. My son had a play the next day and I had to get a pair of black cargo shorts. When my husband and son walked in an older white lady greeted us at one of the front counter as we walked by. We went directly to the boys section and started looking at the shorts about 3 minutes after we got there another older white woman came out of nowhere and asked how she can help us. I told her our dilemma and she just glanced through a few and said "we do not have anymore." Once I saw how fast she came back there to us I was skeptical and was shocked that she would follow us. My husband and I are both professionals and are over 45. I just laughed and we left. Oh, with and hour left we was able to run to the Mall of GA and JC Penney had the exact shorts I needed! We got it right before closing.

I ordered make-up from Belk, and those came with a free gift. The two packages shipped separately. When they arrived, the free gift was in one box but the other box contained a jewelry set instead of make up. I checked the enclosed Order Summary and it was correct, listing the make up. I know that such errors happen, so I contacted Customer Service and told them of the issue. Instead of apologizing and sending the correct items, they were short and demanded that I return the jewelry before I get my make up. My two options were to: 1) Request a return form (that takes 1-2 days to arrive to my email), package the jewelry, and send it back. Once Belk received the jewelry, they would then ship the makeup; 2) Return the jewelry to a Belk store and use the refunded money to re-order the make-up.
First, I am almost out of makeup. With either option, I have to wait shipping and processing time to get the makeup. Also, the reason I order online is that I have demanding work hours that don't allow me to visit a Belk store (or shipping store for that matter). I explained my situation to the representative, and she said that was the only way I could receive what I ordered was to ship back the jewelry or return it to a store.
I had a very similar experience at a similar department store last year (I ordered a towel set and got a skirt), and as soon as I told their customer service I had received the item, they immediately told me to keep the wrong item and that they would ship the new item immediately. They were very apologetic and didn't hint at making me return the skirt. There was no debate or talk of work, they just immediately told me to keep the wrong item because it was the store's mistake, not mine. At the time, I had better hours and would have been happy to return the skirt, but they did not mention this.
Needless to say, I am very frustrated that Belk makes their customers sacrifice time and gas to correct Belk's errors. This is not a good policy at all! I am a long time shopper of Belk and Belk.com, but this has left a sour taste in my mouth.

I've been with a Belk Credit Card for over 2007. I was late one day when my online transaction fail to apply the payment. I think my original credit balance for only $150. Still today it remains only a $150. I'm complaining because I was late one-time over the last several years. I still fail to get the increase of a credit line. I'm complaining that there is some discrimination factors in their processing methods to upgrade my credit line to $300 to $500.

I placed an order online with Belk for 4 sets of dinnerware. The total of my order was $139 and some change. The first time I clicked to complete my order, I received a message stating that the transaction couldn't be processed. I waited a bit and tried again. The order was able to be completed on my second attempt. A couple of hours later, I happened to check my bank account and noticed that Belk placed two pre-authorization holds on my account for $150.95 each! When I contacted them, they said that they would "drop off" in 5 business days. That's all well & good except that these holds just shorted me the funds to make my house payment!
The following day, I received an email stating that my order had shipped. I again checked my bank account and sure enough, another hold for the purchase! Now they have put holds on my account for $450 to cover a $139 purchase. Belk says they didn't do it, the bank did. My bank says that Belk placed the holds. Great! Ok...now on to the shipping fiasco. When I created my account, I designated my work place as my shipping address. My home is in the middle of nowhere and no one is ever there during delivery hours. Guess where Belk shipped my order... to my home/billing address. Now I've had to contact the local post office and have a hold placed on the delivery. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I shop with Belk.

This order was the first time I have used your company. Let me explain the situation: I placed the order online at between 7-8 am est on Wednesday 12/17. The order on Thursday was still showing as in process, so I called. I was informed at that time, "don't worry, you will get a shipment notice by Friday morning." Friday morning came, I called, and informed them I still didn't have a shipment notice. They said not to worry, it would get shipped out by 1 pm on Saturday and still arrive in time for Christmas. On Saturday morning, I checked, still in process. Saw the customer service wasn't open until 9 am so waited. At almost 10 am on Saturday, I was sent an email that my order was canceled because it was out of stock. This is over 3 days (72 hours) after I placed the order. I did everything I think I could have possibly done, and the fact that I wasn't given any clue this item may be canceled is ridiculous. After the order was canceled, I checked the site and the item was still shown as in stock.

I placed an order online for a sweater and was sent a completely different sweater than I ordered. I called customer service and explained to them that I ordered this for a Christmas party and am very upset and would like the correct sweater. They then informed me that sorry, it was sold out. Completely unacceptable and horrible customer service!

I shopped with many companies online this holiday season and the only order that was unfulfilled was Belk's. Only half of the items I ordered arrived and when I called to find out when the others would be forthcoming (had to try several times to even get through on the phone), I was informed that the items were unavailable. I asked if the company ever intended to inform me of that. The woman said that, unfortunately their system didn't work that way. Now I have to shop last minute for missing gift items, and I will never order anything from Belk again.

I have frequently placed orders on line with belk .com. This time, they doubled the price on what was once a clearance item. This cannot be legal or ethical. As a direct result of this deception, I am closing my account and no longer doing business with Belk.

I will never purchase anything at Belks again after my experience this morning in their store! I took over 30 minutes picking out some clothes to bring on my vacation next week and when I got to the counter, the clerk said my check would not go through. I have ten times the amount of my purchase ($80) in that account. They wanted me to pay it by other means, which I refused to do for the principle of the matter. After they gave me the number of Certegy to call, they said it was not due to bad checks but gave no explanation and said they would send a letter explaining. This was a machine doing the talking.
So I could not pay for my merchandise today. Anybody who uses a system like "Certegy" will continue to lose business. It was embarrassing because other people assumed you must not have the money or you had checking issues. Good bye, Belks, and any other retail store using this kind of check verifying! I called the manager but he cannot do anything other than what Certegy told me to do, which is fill out a personal private invasive application that gives them access to my bank account.
