I ordered some things online. The order was delivered in several deliveries. One item was delivered to the wrong address. I could clearly see in the picture that it was delivered to a different address. There was also no package in the photo. I filed a claim and it was denied! I contacted “customer service” and the ** I spoke with couldn’t tell me why it was denied and that it was final. I will never buy anything from any of their brands again.

This is the third and last time I will buy from Banana Republic. When you purchase the item, they charge you for shipping and give you a date. When the order is processed, you receive a delivery date about a week or two later. I have received items three weeks after their scheduled delivery date. They do not offer effective customer service, so you are out of luck after the purchase. Please reconsider purchasing from them.

I placed on May 1, 2025. The order was marked as shipped on May 2 and listed as delivered on May 3 via UPS. However, I never received the package, and after contacting UPS, they confirmed that they are unable to locate the shipment. I immediately contacted Banana Republic customer service and followed all necessary steps to report the missing item. Despite UPS being unable to confirm delivery and my clear documentation, Banana Republic refused to refund me or send a replacement. Instead, I was told to “go back online and place a new order,” which is unacceptable.
I have paid for goods that I did not receive, and Banana Republic has chosen not to take accountability for the failed delivery. This response lacks basic customer care and violates consumer protection standards. I have been BR customer for years. Most of my closet is from there. I like store shopping despite the fact they are rude, pushy and unhelpful if you're not spending a lot of money. I ordered online this time. I will never spend a penny in that store. Athlete or Gap ever again. They are responsible to make sure we receive our order instead they said, "Well too bad you paid us. Not our problem, go back and shop online so you could pay us even more." Shocking and concerning!

I was a long time customer of BR but had such a disappointing store experience. Was on business trip and went to Bellevue BR to pick up shoes. Found a perfect style and fit! Was thrilled! Was told ‘sorry you have to come back on Friday, we are doing inventory’ which is ridiculous and makes no sense. The customer service associates seem confused and were entirely helpless and useless - I have never been refused to buy something before. Due to ‘inventory’ - what does that even mean and why would I care? BR just lost a 20+ year customer. Terrible and annoying experience.

Purchased 3 items online. Two are just sloppy and nothing like the pictures, and one is missing and never received. After we went through the trouble of calling CS it failed the refund process without any justification. First time purchasing anything from BR since a long time ago and really didn't expect it to downgrade to such a level.

Ordered two pair of jeans online and received only one. Send the form in to have the second pair sent and the return email said no refund. I called customer service and she said, "I’ll send you a form." She sent me the same form. Called back and they told me they will not refund me $78 nor will they send me the second pair. We’ve dropped a ton of money in this store. NEVER AGAIN.

I was really looking forward to my order of three linen shirts, but this experience left me feeling deeply disappointed and frustrated. After waiting patiently for the items to arrive, I was disheartened to find that two of the three shirts were damaged. To make matters worse, when I contacted customer service, I was informed that no replacement for my favorite of the three was available.
Now, instead of enjoying the shirts I had eagerly anticipated, I have to go out of my way to return the damaged items and wait for a refund. It’s frustrating to have my excitement turned into disappointment and then compounded by the inconvenience of resolving the issue. While the one undamaged shirt seems to be of decent quality, the lack of replacements and the added hassle of the return process has completely soured this experience. I hope the company can improve its quality control and better address customer issues in the future.

I ordered 14 tshirts XL tall and 1 was the wrong size. The customer service rep’s accent was so bad I could hardly understand what was being said. Long story short I was placed on hold 3 times and the outcome is not to my satisfaction. It was suggested that I send the tshirt back, order it again (which I will have to purchase it again and wait for it to be shipped and once they receive the item then my funds would be returned). Ordering online is becoming a hassle and I’m not ready for the headache. Will I order again? NO! Their screw up is now my problem and all the incompetence lays on my shoulder.

After purchasing MANY items from BR over the years, my most recent experience with them will be the last. USPS and their other carrier of choice Navar/Ontrac had been stealing/losing items. Recently USPS deliverer ripped on the cheap bagging and removed an item from my order. I reported the loss and they refused to refund or replace the item. So, after remaining a loyal customer, I will no longer purchase from BR. Neither in store or online. I complained about the carriers, but they don’t care.

BEWARE when buying sale items. They show the final sale only under the item in black, not when you click on the item and put it in your basket. You only see the final sale in red after purchase. Why don't they show that in red under the item, when you click on the image, and in red before checkout? Many other retailers do that, and it is so helpful. Now I'm stuck with multiple pairs of white paints, even the ones that don't fit right. Had I known the final sale, I would not have purchased four regular and tall paint pairs. I never know if I need the tall or not. It was very disappointing when I called customer service to consider a store credit and a hard no. I am a loyal customer with a long ordering history with them, and none of that matters.

I purchased a dress at BR prior to a cruise. It fit fine in store. When I put dress on after it has been on hanger it apparently stretched and was too long. The material was crocheted. Cannot be hemmed. I was away for 3 weeks. Brought dress back to store requesting either refund or store credit. Manager informed me she could not help me as they do not accept any returns after 30 days. I spent over 1000 dollars the day I bought this dress for 285 dollars. The dress was not on sale. Customer support on the phone also not helpful. And also very condescending. I think a company as large as banana republic should be able to offer a more flexible return policy. Very disappointed. Will not be shopping at any of their brands in future.

Unfortunately, Banana Republic is choosing to reduce its quality and is hiding that fact from customers with disingenuous practices on their online shop. https://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=8758560220002&locale=en_US#pdp-page-content. This item has been on sale for many months, and has recently gone on sale for Summer. The problem is the item has completely botched sizing wherein a Small is a 34" waist. This would usually be considered a Large, and this unusual sizing information is hidden behind a panel.
Further, the user ratings & reviews which would have been very helpful in this purchasing decision, include 5 or more 1 star reviews citing the poor sizing, are again, hidden behind a panel. These reviews have come in over the last many months, giving Banana Republic ample time to respond to the problem either by removing the item outright or making this critical information more readily available as to inform customers. This means Banana Republic, knowing full well their product is inferior in meeting consumer expectations, continued to sell it and even include it in a large Summer promotion. This issue is compounded by their Returns & Exchange provider failing to load in any browser, returning a 404 error, which stifles the ability to return this item and make right on their responsibility to the consumer.
In my attempt to rectify this issue with support, they chose procedure over customer satisfaction, giving me a return & refund plan that would require more time and cost than the item is worth. All included, this calls into question the reliability of Banana Republic and their Quality Team, eroding customer trust in a brand that holds itself in high regard for both quality and service. In my many years of being a loyal Banana Republic customer, I will have to think twice on any purchasing decision to avoid buying a potentially costly and defective product.

Manhattan store on Liberty Street would not refund my return using original payment method even though the return was well within the 30 days. I reached out to multiple contacts including the CEO Richard Dickson multiple times and he ignored me in all instances. Clearly the chain is going down based on this site and the news, and for top level management to ignore an executive complaint just shows what the atmosphere must be like there.

I made an online purchase from Banana Republic Factory Outlet on May 22, 2024. Their return policy clearly states, "Returns and exchanges must be returned within 30 days of the DELIVERY date." I went online on June 22 to make a request to return some of the items and it said, "Items in your order are no longer available for return or exchange." They calculated the 30-day return window based on the order date before I even saw the merchandise. The 30 day limit expired on June 22 according to their records even though the order was not delivered until May 30. I should have had an additional 7 days to place this return request. Any retailer who cannot even abide by their own written policy doesn't deserve to be in business. What a waste of my valuable time.

I never received this order of 6/4!! I have been tracking this order since the due date of 6/14. I have submitted requested updates and received No phone calls or updates! I have been lied to my numerous times by customer service agents about the whereabouts of my order. This is the worst customer service ever!!!! Now I get notice that you have received "my return"???? I never got the package, how did I return it???? I need answers from someone in the US and not lies from someone in the Philippines!!! I will never order or shop with Banana Republic again!!!

I've been purchasing from Banana Republic for 20 years both in-store and online. Today I went to return something and didn't know their policy changed from 45 days to 30, which meant I was a few days late. They wouldn't make a one-time exception. What a pathetic company.

It's 8:45 at Tanger Outlet WPB, I’m needing to try on shirt and shorts. Sign blocking dressing room entrance. Ask a lady for if open however she speaks little to no English and gets someone else to help. The young lady informs me dressing room is closed and I am unable to try on items. I forward myself to the front counter for assistance however the young lady is assisting someone, I wait for an opportunity to speak. The lady then offers assistance I ask for the manager on utter, to my left her right there was the manager. I informed her of my concern she yes they are closed but I can open a dressing room for you. As we are walking towards the dressing room I pointed out the young lady who informed me it was closed.
The manager then began to explain that dressing rooms are closed because they have to sanitize them each night. "May I have your name please", she stated, "Gretchen," I then asked for the young lady name she stated Respa. I began to express I was not pleased and I would Google review. She reiterated that sanitizing is done every evening. "Did I do something to you." "No you did not do anything and you having to sanitize during business impacts my experience." She opened the room, I tried on the too little items, gave them to her and left. "Why are fitting rooms closed during business hours" I ask.

The item’s quality is different when you buy on online vs store. The shoes on the left with the Banana Republic logo inside the sole is bought from the store which is the left one. The one on the right is bought from online.

I ordered several expensive items from BR. Upon receiving the order I discovered 1 of those items was missing, but marked as delivered. I submitted a request to receive a replacement or refund. Less than 30 min later my claim was auto-denied. I called them and they said my only option is to submit a claim with my bank. I offered to send them photos of the order and everything I received, and asked if there's anything I can do. NOPE! They told me there is nothing they can do and could not tell me anything about why the claim was denied or give me any way to appeal it. WOW! Awful! I will never order from them again.

I have ordered from Banana for years without issue. I ordered 4 Claudette midi silk dresses to try on for a black tie event. They claim all 4 were shipped in the same package - there were only 3. They refused to refund me the $273. I filed a claim which they said is reviewed by an independent third party (new policy). It was denied. My only remedy is to place a challenge with my credit card. I will never buy anything from them again.

Bought this shoe online. In all fairness was a no return purchase. On sale for $200. It’s a joke. Absolutely cannot wear these shoes. It’s like wearing cardboard boxes on tree trunks. Impossible to walk with any dignity. Called BR to see if I could return given my experience or even a credit note. They said “NO”. Referred me to their no return on sale policy. Subsequently saw the exact same shoe on DSW for $69.00. I “was” a good customer. Will need to reconsider that given their lousy customer service policy. DO NOT BUY THIS SHOE. Looks pretty but unwearable.

Buyer beware! They apparently have a policy where items purchased for Christmas can not be returned after January 15. Keep in mind that we ordered the correct size and wanted to keep that and are credit card holders who shop there often. Also keep in mind that we are out of town and were then sick so we missed the deadline by 5 days. They apparently prefer that you go to the store sick and risk their employees and other customers just to meet the deadline. Needless to say I am cancelling my credit card and will shop elsewhere.

Do not shop at this store. The prices increased but the customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with in my life. I had originally bought a pair of boots on black friday for full price but there was a promotional rate at the time for 40% (applied at checkout automatically no code) and then an additional 15% off. So they came out to be around 228. The shoes never showed up or were even given to the carrier. So at this point I have already waited weeks for a no show. I am then told by customer service they cannot just reship me another pair (although it is their mistake) and that I have to get a refund and repurchase. They promised they would honor my original promotional rate which was 40% off and then an additional 15%. The boots when I reordered happened to be on sale even more so you would think my reorder should be less right? Nope I am apparently paying the same amount even if the second order is less money. MAKES 0 SENSE.
A good customer service manager would have honored the original promotional rate I had used on the second cheaper order, thus making the amount less. Just absolutely pathetic and can’t believe Banana Republic would rather save $200 than have a happy customer who would return and spend more in the future. No longer, good riddance.

While I appreciate company's attempt at limiting fraud, my order was canceled due to some "perceived fraudulent activity." Let me worry about it. I moved addresses and have updated addresses on all my credit cards prior to making this order online. It says to call and ask for the Research dept, which I have now done three times. First time- system was down. Second time, after 8am EST, they aren't open yet. And thirdly, at 3pm EST, I can wait on hold for 30 minutes (I am at work) in order to speak to the correct dept. They informed me that I cannot go on and just reorder myself as my account has been flagged for fraudulent activity and the order will probably be cancelled again, despite me telling them on all three calls that it is not. So, during the holiday season, I cannot make orders online until I talk to someone in some random department that is proving elusive. Guess I will not be ordering from them ever again, and I was a very good customer.

I ordered a black fedora hat in late October for a special occasion in November. I paid the basic shipping because it was going to be plenty of time. However I received return to sender notice on my tracker, due to damage package. I contacted customer service and I was still interested. I paid extra for faster shipping thinking it will be better handled and on time. I received my package 2 days late and again damaged. Though the handler is only responsible to a point. It should of been packaged in a box not in a bag where again being bond for damaged. I'm very disappointed thinking and relying on Banana Republic brand name will be much more strategic and practical in packaging and on time.

I bought an item that was worth 160 dollars, it was a men's jacket, however, they sent me a women's jacket, of lower quality, another size and another color. And they don't want to give me my money back, they are scammers.

Please be careful with the final sale of clothing sets that are sold separately! I purchased both the suit jacket and pants in a very specific color (sold separately but intended as a set, due to color match) but was informed 5 days later that the jacket was not in inventory. Since both items were final sale I am now stuck with suit pants that I cannot use as they are not understanding the intention of purchasing these items together. I've been informed there is nothing they are able/willing to do which leaves me stuck and very frustrated with their product and services. I hoped they would have been more understanding to keep their customers satisfied but I suppose it is more important to stick to a company policy than keep future customers.

Estimated shipping date at time of purchase several days earlier than actual eta when shipping confirmation was ultimately sent. As it turned out I'd be out of the country for the real delivery date. I contacted customer service to either expedite or hold the shipment, they would do nothing for and had no interest whatsoever in helping. Too many options out there to waste my time and money with them again.

I purchased 1 shirt online, husband tried on, didn't fit, fabric also thin and not great looking. Returned it immediately thru online system, as no store nearby. It took about a week to get to returns dept. Now still WAITING for REFUND. They did deduct from balance shipping to return item. However, used Chat as recommended and was told return processing can take 10-15, THEN a team has to inspect items which can take another 10 days....!!! So it might take 25 days PLUS shipping time of a week to get a partial refund! WOW horrible customer service. Amazon returns actually give back the funds AS SOON as the PREPAID Label is scanned in the system when picked up! Fabulous...I would NOT RECOMMEND this company unless you are 100% sure things will fit and you like them, otherwise it takes about 30 days for your money back! WHY would someone shop here? NOT ME EVER AGAIN!

I am unable to shop online at bananarepublic.com since they changed the layout of their website. It makes me dizzy and nauseous and I'm unable to spend more than a few seconds on the site. It's sad because I was a loyal customer for many years. I have seen other comments about their skyrocketing prices...I wouldn't know because the website leaves me physically ill.
