Was a loyal customer for 5+ years, with minimal claims. Paid $100 in bills monthly, on time. I sent an inquiry regarding cancellation due to budget issues, then changed my mind and sent a note stating so. They canceled me anyway. And even though I instantly responded to that as well, they refuse to reinstate my account. "London" was on vacation for 2 weeks, didn't get my reply, and therefore, too bad, so sad, go find another company. (She was seriously SO RUDE. In her case, the customer is always WRONG.) For whatever reason, they have zero interest in customer retention, and we live at the mercy of "London" and her vacation schedule. Avoid. Seriously. Go with someone with decent customer service.

My husband and I are extremely happy with Healthy Paws. They are quick in processing claims, they also check on your pet’s recovery and are always available to answer any question you might have. We’ve had Burger insured for almost 3 years now, and we recently added our new puppy Chalupa. Healthy Paws has the best customer service, thank you!!

Healthy Paws has been so supportive of my dog and I through multiple difficult medical experiences! Both times it made the biggest difference between the care I was able to give my dog and the ease with which I was able to make good decisions for him. I'm so grateful to HP and the fact that pet insurance made these stressful times immeasurably less difficult knowing we were financially covered.

I am so happy we have Healthy Paws. We have learned as new pet parents that vet visits and emergency situations are extremely costly. Luna is our first dog, she is 1yr & 10 months old. She is like our little girl. A few weeks ago she was not feeling well. She had ingested an object and an emergency surgery was imminent. She ended up getting an endoscopy and has recovered amazingly well! I was impressed by the support, follow up, and reimbursement from Healthy Paws. We got Healthy Paws as soon as we got Luna and it was a great decision. If you are thinking about it - get it, it's worth it!

Healthy Paws is by far the best pet insurance I have ever had. We have been with them for 10 years and they are great. Claims are reviewed quickly and reimbursement checks sent out within one week. They also have the nicest, friendliest staff ever! We will never change.

I got a puppy from a shelter in April 2021 and I wanted pet insurance in case of an emergency. I didn’t know what to get so I did research and heard a lot of good things about Healthy Paws. I am so glad I went with them, our dog has had surgery twice since we’ve had her and Healthy Paws has covered 90%! These are not surgeries I could normally afford without the insurance. So much is covered under the plans and we have had such a great experience, the pay out happens quickly too so you can be sure you’ll be reimbursed in a timely matter. For both surgeries the money was In my account in a few days! If you’re getting a puppy, especially a high energy herding breed or any working/sport breed I think Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is a must!

Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver for me many times over the years, but my most recent experience may be the most amazing. My old-lady dog made a trip to urgent care, our vet and then to the ER vet hospital, where she spent 4 days. I was worried for her, but thanks to Healthy Paws I never once had to worry about getting her the best care possible. Now she's home and recovering, the happiest possible ending.

I got my puppy rescue terrier/chihuahua in 2016 and started paying for pet insurance because there was a lot of scary foot traffic in my busy neighborhood. I paid a reasonable cost, starting at something like $19/month and going up to $35/month as my dog got older. Fast forward to 2021, and my dog uncharacteristically started peeing in the house. (We guessed maybe it was a UTI.) I took her to the vet and found out it was a kidney stone, and that it was too big for her to pass. She needed surgery. The total surgery cost something like $2500, but Healthy Paws reimbursed me. This was a huuuge help -- it would have been a huge blow to my finances to have to pay for it all out of pocket. Healthy Paws is communicative and their interface is incredibly easy. So thankful that I decided to get Healthy Paws so many years ago!

I love Healthy Paws insurance! Every time I need assistance all the staff are very friendly. They always ask how my pet (and myself!) are doing. I highly recommend their services! I love that I don’t have to worry about finances in making important decisions for my pet.

I have 2 Rottie girls, mother and daughter. I first insured my previous dogs with Healthy Paws, Boxers, and was very happy with my coverage as Pippi had multiple claims. That was over 5 yrs ago. I was satisfied with their coverage and so covered my next dogs with Healthy Paws. I've had multiple major claims for my Rotties... Nadja, with BOTH cruciate ligament surgeries a year apart, and my (at that time 10 month old) puppy Jette being diagnosed with pyometra after her first heat. Unheard of? I did get a second opinion. 2 wks after her emergency surgery she hemorrhaged. Emergency. Intensive care. Healthy Paws came through. MAJOR expense. Around $15,000 total costs, a fair amount out of pocket, but I seriously could not have taken care of my girls without Healthy Paws. (I have $200 deductible and 80% of allowable for each dog) EASY to submit claims online, usually deposited in my checking account within days.

My Dog tore is ACL. I need a major new surgery. The veterinarian bill was astronomical costing two and a half months of wages. Rather than having to make the choice of putting my 6-year-old dog down or getting another part-time job to pay for bill, Healthy Paws pet insurance was there covering 90% of the surgery. Life is full of difficult decisions, thankfully I didn't have to make one more. I cannot say enough good things, five stars!!!

My cat had a surgery recently, and it costed me 8000 dollars, luckily I have the insurance from Healthy Paws. The claim process was very quick, and I received 6000 dollars. Can't imagine what should I do if I don't have the insurance for my little baby.

Since signing up, we’ve already had three claims and they’ve been processed very quickly without any hassle, and also in a very kind and personal manner. My dog is diagnosed with glaucoma and lens dislocation, and Healthy Paws has been really helpful in giving me quick reimbursement for the money I paid for surgeries, medicines, etc. I am really glad that I have this insurance to help me through this tough time. This is the best company I have ever had for my pet insurance. Unlike other companies I have dealt with, this company pays out your claims promptly and without endless excuses to reduce the amount of the payments. When you sign up for a 10 percent deductible, you get back a full 90% of your vet fees. Other companies I have dealt with manage to come up with various exclusions bringing down their claim payments to only around 50% on a 90% plan. In fact, I recently had vet bills of over $30,000 dollars for my two sick dogs, one receiving cancer treatments and the other needing major knee surgery. Healthy Paws paid me the full 90% of some very expensive claims. They even sent an email asking how my dog was doing after the knee surgery. You can’t buy better pet insurance than this. I’ll stick with Healthy Paws for all my future pet insurance needs. You should give them a try.

Healthy Paws has exceeded our expectations in every way. We decided to get pet insurance for our bernedoodle puppy, who is now only 3 years old. Despite a perfect puppyhood, she ruptured the dog equivalent of our ACL in the spring and required surgery and physical therapy to repair it. Then just a few weeks ago, for no apparent reason, she became ill and required a trip to the nearby emergency vet. We were told she had experienced a toxin to her liver. That ultimately entailed a stay at the incredible CSU Veterinary Hospital in Northern Colorado. It was devastating to imagine losing such an important and much-loved part of our family, and fortunately thanks to Healthy Paws, the financial impact did not have to determine whether or not we could keep her and enjoy many years ahead together. We were able to provide her the care she needed to recover and is back to romping and cuddling. Both of these were completely unforeseen accidents in an otherwise super healthy dog. Again, thanks again, Healthy Paws!!

Healthy Paws has been very fast with its claims with no issues. They cover what they say they cover and I haven't had any problems with its service. We have used their service for about 5 years now and would recommend them highly.

Healthy Paws isn't the first pet insurance I've had over the years, but it is the only one for my dogs now and in the future. My last pet insurance stopped paying for cancer treatments for my beloved dog halfway through the protocol because the contract renewed and the cancer was now considered a pre-existing condition. I was dumbfounded. We continued the protocol out of pocket and it gave us an extra year with her, but I was done with that particular type of business practice.

The smartest thing I’ve ever done is purchase Healthy Paws pet insurance. I cannot say enough good things about it. Without it, I would not have my dog today. They definitely live up to their word. The employees are courteous and extremely helpful. They process my claims very quickly and without difficulty. I would definitely recommend Healthy Paws to any pet owner.

Our 4 year old Golden Retriever had to have both rear ACLs repaired. We were very concerned for her as she means so much to us. Luckily, we had Healthy Paws Insurance which helped us cover 80% of her surgery costs. They handled her claim within a few days of submission and sent us a check within a week. They covered all of her expenses which included her harness, collar, pills, bandages, etc. They were fantastic and without them we don't know what we would have done. Thank you Healthy Paws.

Recently, my 1 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Hazel, needed to be taken to an animal ER. While at the ER, she had x rays, fluids, and many medications. She had ingested multiple pieces of rubber from toys. She had to spend 3 nights at the ER and had a surgery to remove the objects from her stomach and intestines. My final bill was over $4,000, but throughout this already stressful and scary time, I didn’t need to worry about money. Times like this make me so happy to have Healthy Paws!! Not only does my plan give me great coverage, but the app is so user friendly and the customer service team members are so nice! A day after I submitted my claim, I received an email asking how Hazel was doing!

Yes, they used to cover prescription meds, but lately I have been having a horrendous time with this company. Look at their records. You will see that recently they have been fined millions of dollars for multiple violations. Lately they constantly ask for med records, soap notes and teeth diagrams. Recently one of my dogs had several extractions, one of her teeth had a hole in it. My Vet stated that they did not know why this happens to small dogs. And she had peri dental disease. My policy states that DENTAL DISEASE is covered. Her bill was well over $1000. All I asked for was the 2 prescriptions be covered ($49 X 90% = $44.10.) They stated that dental is not covered and so the prescriptions were not covered. WELL .... THEN DON'T STATE THAT YOU COVER PRESCRIPTIONS.

Our 1 year old cat was having urinary issues and eventually was hospitalized because of it. It was really tough having him in the hospital for so long; our family wasn't whole! While dealing with the particulars for our claim, we received a separate email from Healthy Paws asking how our cat was doing. There was no business, no requests for additional documentation, just a check-in to make sure we're doing okay and that our cat was doing okay. I was shocked to receive an email like that! Shocked, but also knew we were in good hands with this insurance company.

I have had my dog, Charlie, insured with Healthy Paws since I brought him home. He has since endured three broken elbows that required surgery, PT for his elbow and now PT for his newly diagnosed hip dysplasia. The staff has been genuinely warm and concerned for my dog which helps so much when your pup is hurt. The claims feel like they are completed instantly. I've always been worried that he will get dropped because of his medical history, I don't think they would ever do this to him! Charlie's first surgery happened when I was out of the country and someone else was caring for him, Healthy Paws made such a difficult situation a little bit easier which was fantastic. The monthly rate and deductible are so reasonable. Highly recommend this company!

My dog had to have patella knee surgery and once again Health Paws Insurance was there to help me with the costs. The reimbursement process was so simple and every person I spoke with was very helpful and caring. I can’t say enough good things about this insurance carrier and highly recommend them.

I have a 7 month old mini-Australian Shepherd named Zoey. I signed up with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance after talking with a neighbor who had this insurance and was happy with it. I also did my own Google searches. So far, we have had three emergencies with Zoey covered by Healthy paws!! I really appreciate the amazing turnaround time on the repayment of costs we pay. I appreciate the concern and quick response the personnel working with Healthy Paws always gives me either by phone or email. This program has been well worth the cost and then some. The rules and what is covered, deductible, etc., are also very well covered in their paperwork.

When we got our dog Hattie as a puppy five years ago, we signed up for pet insurance thinking “we’ll probably never even use this”. I questioned whether or not the monthly fee was worth it. Well, three surgeries and a lot of money later, I can say for certain that it was. Hattie’s vet bills have totaled $8055 and with Healthy paws, we only actually spent $2424 after being reimbursed, which makes the premium more than worth it. The best part is, I’ve never had an issue with ANY claim. I take a photo of the receipt, submit it, get reimbursed. I wish my own health insurance was that easy! I never wanted to be put in a position where I had to decide if getting my dog the care she needs was feasible or not, and with healthy paws I never ever have to worry.

When I got my puppy I decided to get pet insurance through Healthy Paws because you never know what might happen with a young puppy! I wanted some coverage in case of a major problem that might be beyond the expected issues and expenses. I looked into several insurances and I'm so glad I went with them in the end! At only 7 months old my puppy sadly ended up developing a crippling shoulder problem which could only be fixed by a very expensive surgery. We had chosen a plan with a higher yearly deductible and 90% coverage to applicable issues...I had reached the deductible with applicable vet expenses before the surgery and they truly did cover 90% of the cost - and they repaid us direct deposit in a very short time! It was a tremendous help for our family, especially during such a stressful time.

I have a great experience with Healthy Paws and I have been telling all my friends about it! I know medical cost can be expensive thus I bought the insurance the first day I got my puppy. One day, I saw him won't open his left eye and he seems to be in pain. I look at his eye and it's super red. I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with corneal ulcer.

I've had Healthy Paws for 3 of my dogs and their customer service has been outstanding. Premiums aren't cheap but neither are the vet bills. It's good to know that when something happens to my dogs, I won't be stressed over the bills. Having to decide if it's financially feasible to get your dog the care it needs is a position that my pet insurance has eliminated. I don't ever want to be in a situation again of having to decide if I can afford the vet care in an emergency. Haven't had any problems with coverage as claims are quickly processed and reimbursements sent in a timely manner.

Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver for my sweet pup Hank. He ate something that got lodged in his intestines and needed 2 different surgeries. Healthy Paws approved both my claims within 48 hours and the checks came within 7 days, plus they checked in with us via email to make sure Hank was ok. Our puppy - Maple - had to have two knee surgeries. It was extremely easy to submit the claims. The only thing that Healthy Paws needed were her records. It took a little bit to get them because we had gone to two different veterinary clinics. I even received an email from Healthy Paws checking on Maple and to wish her well. Healthy Paws has been the best decision I made.

I took out insurance when we got our puppy and made the reasonable payments for 5 years. Recently our puppy got a serious infection where he could not eat or drink and became listless. When we took him to the Emergency Vet Hospital on a weekend I was shocked at the cost to get him checked out, but I couldn’t care less what the cost was, he’s my little buddy. After paying for 4 years never having a claim now when I want it to claim $250 ($200 deductible) They found all kind of excuses to deny. They were asking for all the medical records since I have the dog and after I sent it they asked for the same thing 4 more times. When finally I got on phone they asked for the copy of initial mouth and I don't know what medical record what I never had. They said I should of had done but until 4 years later I had no ides. So I was paying and just now they had the face to charge my card again and probably if that medical check is necessary for 4 years I paid for nothing because apparently I am not even legitimate. So I am out of pocket about $2500 for nothing. In my mind it is just a scam.

My cat Fenris would be a few lives short of this side of dirt if I didn't have Healthy Paws. After a previous illness resurfaced I had to take him to three different vets to get him accurately and confidently diagnosed and Health Paws filled my claims very quickly and allowed my fluffy idiot to get back to causing trouble.

If we didn't have pet insurance, I don't know what we would have done when our dog got so sick and needed treatment. We wouldn't have been able to afford it. Easy to submit claims, super fast reimbursement (same day even with direct deposit!). Many conditions covered, the only thing I wish was also covered was preventative dental. My policy has paid for itself 2 years in a row. Very smart choice!

When our dog suddenly lost function of rear legs we luckily found an emergency vet on the weekend that called in neurologist for emergency surgery. Having Healthy Paws made worrying about the unforeseen financial impact a non issue. They even personally followed up to see how he was recovering. Very easy platform to use with the app, take picture of invoice and 2 days later direct deposit for covered amount. No hoops to jump through or typical insurance claim problems. We are so lucky to have found Healthy Paws and highly recommended.

Submitting the claims were very simple. I got reimbursed very quickly. They also followed up with me to see how my dog was doing. Very considerate and caring people/company. Having a policy is worth the peace of mind. The billing receipt are clear and you know what exactly is being covered and the percentage of reimbursement.

When my dog tore his CCL and was told he had to have major knee surgery to correct it, I was nervous about being able to pay for it. Thankfully the claim process with Heathy Paws was so easy and they responded very quickly and reimbursed me for the costs of his surgery. Vet sent dog to a surgeon. Surgeon needed to confirm the dog's issue before surgery. Healthy Paws refused to pay for the visit. What surgeon would operated before knowing what surgery they were performing? They say they do not pay for any exams.

We got two kittens back in March. We signed them up for pet insurance and were approved in April. The kittens are now nine months old, active, lively, healthy. Until 2 1/2 weeks ago, when my kitten, Quill, stopped eating, was sleeping all day and couldn’t use the bathroom. We took him to our family vet. He needed x-rays, was sent to an emergency vet for an ultrasound, and needed IV fluids three times. Each time we went to the doctor's office I received an invoice. I was so happy that Healthy Paws was so easy to work with. The invoices were easy to update to their system, they were prompt in their replies and prompt in letting me know that our claims had been paid. It was so helpful to focus more on getting my little kitten feeling better and not having to worry about how we were going to make ends meet to pay for his vet visits. So far I have to say this is an amazing company to be working with and I’m so thankful.

I've been able to consistently give my pup the medical care he needs because of Healthy Paws' amazing service and coverage. My dog recently needed to have emergency surgery to save his eye and the bill was more expensive than my own Lasik surgery, which was in both eyes! Insurance is a must, especially with pets that require a bit more care. Healthypaws is extremely quick with processing claims and they always reach out if anything is missing or needed. I have always been very very happy with the quick response of Healthy Paws Pet Insurance to my claims, with the concern that they demonstrate for my pet's well-being, and the overall affordability and comprehensive nature of their plan. My dog has had several serious surgical experiences and Healthy Paws has always showed concern and willingness to be of assistance however they are able.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been a blessing as we begin the healing process from TPLO surgery on our pup. We submitted a claim and within 3 days it was reviewed and the reimbursement was in our bank account. They kindly followed up with a personal email inquiring on our pup. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been great. I recently had to submit the largest claim that I ever had to submit for my dog (he’s almost 6 years old). He needed spinal surgery for a herniated disc. The process of submitting claims is easy and the reimbursement was already being processed and received within a matter of days. Their customer service is great as well. I even received an email asking how my dog was doing. A couple of things that might make the insurance even better is allowing more options for deductible and reimbursement amount and also covering exam fees. I’m currently at a $250 deductible for 80% reimbursement but at $93 a month, it would help if at least exam fees were covered as well and/or a 90% reimbursement. Overall, having this insurance saved me when I needed it. Though, I may have spent a lot over the years to have it, it helped me avoid having to pay the full bill of $7600, unexpectedly for surgery and hospitalization/medications/tests for my dog.

I have had 2 occasions where my Golden Retriever was seriously ill. Healthy Paws covered the entire treatment and sent me a check within a week. They are reliable and honest. They checked up on Duke's condition after he was released from the hospital. Wonderful company.

Getting a pet dog is a big decision - unlike a human baby, a dog will be depending on you for food, water, and care for their whole lives! Our dog had to have emergency abdominal surgery, with a few diagnostic trips prior and we didn't have to blink an eye when it came time to consent to the surgical costs. The surgeons office mentioned "if you need time to think about the costs, we understand" and I could quickly reply "We are good to continue with the surgery". Having good coverage is a blessing! We've carried Healthy Paws for about 4 years now on at least one dog. Now all 4 are covered. Recently, our beloved coonhound Maybellene got very sick. In the process of treating and trying to figure out what was going on, we spent almost $6000 on vet bills. After the claims were paid, which was EXTREMELY fast, we were hugely relieved to have a large portion of that back to return to savings. If you don't have pet insurance, you need it! We've had Healthy Paws for our Chocolate Labrador, Harvey, since we brought him home 6 years ago. Over those 6 yrs we've had to file several claims for Harvey, the latest of which was for TPLO (ACL) surgery. As you can imagine, this was a major expense and not only did Healthy Paws process the claim and issue the reimbursement in less than a week; they also sent a personal email to check up on how Harvey was doing. Filing a claim is as simple as uploading the invoice from the Vet. Couldn't be happier with the level of service from Healthy Paws.

I wanted to post this to let people know how great of a service Healthy Paws pet insurance has been for me. I have had coverage for my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel since June of 2015. Over this period of time I have made several large claims for coverage as well as small claims throughout every year. Every claim I have made have been handled very quickly. It is very easy to make claims on a mobile device or on a PC. This is better medical insurance than most pet owners have for themselves.

My dog suffered a complete CCL tear and had to have surgery to correct it. Healthy Paws covered the percentage of everything related to the surgery as outlined in the policy without hassle. Filing the claim could not have been easier. The claim was completed in a few days. This is a great insurance company that does what they say they will do.

While my Australian Shepard, Zoey, was having her teeth cleaned an x-ray confirmed that she had a cracked tooth that needed to be extracted. In addition, surgery to remove a small, precancerous mass on her eyelid was also removed at that time. This routine dental cleaning turned into a pretty expensive medical bill. I did quite bit of research into pet insurance before selecting Healthy Paws to insure my three dogs. The process for submitting this claim to Healthy Paws was very easy and I was impressed with how promptly the claim was reviewed and quickly reimbursed for the extraction and surgical procedures covered by the plan. I have had Healthy Paws for a little under three years for both of my dogs. In just the last 18 months, one dog has needed major surgery, and the other tore her ACL, had two mast cell tumors removed, and was treated for the worst rattlesnake bite the vets treating her had ever seen. I have been reimbursed over $12,000 in that time from Healthy Paws. My claims are almost always processed in less than two days and reimbursed in 3-4 days. Getting Healthy Paws is one of the best financial decisions I have ever made. I cannot possibly recommend them more.

We were anxious when our one-year-old kitty suddenly had an attack of repeated vomiting. We called our vet, who had us bring him in. After an x-ray and some iv fluids, they recommended that he stay there overnight. By the next day, he was able to come home, and happily, is doing well now. Healthy Paws promptly handled our claim and paid 80% of the charge after a small deductible, as promised. Their response was prompt and we received a reimbursement check quickly. I got pet insurance for my new pup almost 4 years ago on a friend's recommendation. I am so very thankful for having found Healthy Paws. My girl had a luxated patella in November and had to have a major orthopedic surgery. She also has arthritis in that knee and her opposite hock. I just found out she has elbow dysplasia in both front legs and had a CT scan last week, so may be looking at more surgery.

I took my dog Sophie to see her Vet for a Medical issue she was having (for which I had insurance with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance LLC) and this was supposed to be covered on June 13th/14th 2021...and put in a claim for reimbursement....and I have called and emailed for status numerous times and as of today (08/23/21) I have not received my reimbursement!! At first, they said they sent a check out...but I did not get anything....They told me that they will cancel the first check and send a new one...still nothing. Then I find out that they charged me two Annual Deductibles and denied the portion for the medicine...then they told me that they will fix it and send me the correct payment and that they would call me back...still nothing and no call backs!!!! I paid them for coverage that they have not taken care of...They lied about what they cover and have not met their end of the agreement for coverage, or reimbursed within the specified and allotted and quoted timeframe!

I've been with Healthy Paws since my Otterhound was a pup, constantly getting foxtails in her ears (and one time in her eye)! I added my Rottie to the policy once I adopted him as the rate for multiple dogs was quite reasonable. Although the premiums have definitely risen through the years, HP has always been both helpful and prompt with my payment. Whereas other pet insurance companies exclude many of the unexpected problems you may encounter, that was never my experience with HP. They're very transparent and although I no longer have my Rottie, I love knowing that my Otterhound is in good hands.

Horrible waste of time and money. I’m pretty sure Healthy Paws has already somehow erased my first review so here we go again trying to get the truth out about this company. I’m still in the process of trying to get my three policies canceled which I’ve requested three times now. I pay $114 a month for three pets to be covered fully. I completely understand not covering the examination fees. It says it right in the policy but it also says that you guys cover x-rays.

I have a policy for three dogs. They cost me around 114 a month. I’ve been paying this for many months now without having to use it. Finally and unfortunately my dog had something in his stomach we need to take multiple x-rays. From everything I read under your policy x-rays are covered under the insurance. But when my vet send you the claim you tell me none of the claim can be claimed. But I thought you covered x-rays. Now you’re trying to put me through this hell of appeal appeal process just to be able to make a claim.

Healthy Paws made a stressful experience more tolerable. When my young adult cat was diagnosed with heart disease, I was stressed and terrified. We’ve had this insurance since our dog was a puppy. Started at $23 per month. They have never paid out a cent to us and have Increased us every single Year and not by a few dollars. We are in our fifth year with this insurance, again, they haven’t paid a cent and we are now going to be billed over $62 per month!!! That is over $700 in insurance that we’ve never used and believe me, it will go up and up and up. Insane! Would give zero stars if I could. Look elsewhere FOR SURE!

“Disbelief” is the only word that comes to mind when reading the poor reviews for Healthy Paws on this website. First, in response to the people complaining about increases in cost: it is common practice for insurance premiums to be adjusted based on the total amount of money the company spends on all claims within a given year. This is not specific to Healthy Paws; they are not out to get you.

My experience with Healthy Paws is Amazing!!! My dog is my son. We love him, and having Healthy Paws insurance to back us up at any moment, (and I really mean ANY MOMENT) is just a breath of fresh air. He has had around 4 surgery so far 2 of them this year, and healthy paws was able to live up to our expectations in all of them. Great Customer Service, Great response time, and the app. is so convenient when making a claim.

I have insured my dog Benson through Healthy Paws.. I have always been happy with his 90 percent with a 200 dollar annual deductible. It gives me the peace of mind to know I never have to base medical care decisions on financial concerns. Healthy Paws reviews claims and quickly reimburses via direct deposit. I couldn't be more happy with this policy and coverage.

While it would be nice for Healthy Paws (probably like all pet insurance options) to be a bit more transparent upfront about what isn't covered (vaccinations, regular wellness checkups, and most annoyingly the checkup/consultation portion of what are otherwise emergency care visits), we've overall been quite satisfied. The website is user friendly and the reimbursements are prompt and painless.

Healthy Paws has been amazing. I was weary about getting pet insurance as I thought I might not need it but I sure have! My dog has severe allergies which require monthly ** injections and immunotherapy shots. He has torn both of his CCLs and we recently had an overnight hospitalization for eating something we shouldn't have. Healthy Paws reviews our claims SO QUICKLY, typically the day of submission or the day after and we typically have the reimbursement deposited into my account the next day. They are also extremely responsive to any and all questions. The monthly rate does go up but nothing crazy so far and so worth it to know that I can afford to give my pet the care he might need.

I was a customer for 5+ years and purchased policies for several pets. As others have said, their service is modern, fast, and easy to use. I was initially impressed and glad to have the peace of mind. Unfortunately, it seems that their approach is to hook you and then go after your wallet as aggressively as they possibly can. The prices they offer to new customers are very attractive. However, their premiums consistently increase 30-50% every year, so factor that into your decision when you sign up.

I have had this insurance for 8 years. I have had this insurance for 8 years, since my dog was 12 weeks old. She is 8 yrs old now. Healthy Paws just increased our payment from $95 to $143 per month. A 45% increase. We hardly used this insurance. Bad customer service. They will not work with us. Rates should be based on usage and how long you have had the policy. This should not be a one size fits all. I would NOT recommend this insurance unless you plan on your dog dying young.

I have never had pet insurance before, but Healthy Paws had been a wonderful first experience. My 5 month old pup ended up in the emergency vet with a $4500 bill. It was super easy to start my claim… All I had to do was upload my invoice from the hospital. They processed my claim in 2 days and I received my reimbursement check 3 days later. They even checked in afterward to see how my puppy was doing! I couldn’t be happier.

Healthy Paws denied a claim and an appeal for medication for our pup's diarrhea claiming it is a pre existing condition. Regardless of the cause they are denying any claim regarding diarrhea so if your dog has a chronic condition or just gets into something they weren't supposed to they will deny the claim due to the one episode of vomiting. I'm assuming they will now deny any issue that ever comes up even if years later involving the GI tract so be aware of how they operate and how aggressively they try to deny claims.

I have had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for years and have been satisfied until this year. Overall it has been easy to file claims and they pay within a couple of weeks. This year the company has definitely changed! They would not pay some claims without our pets complete medical records. This is after they have been paying for these pets for years. The worst issue is the huge increase in premiums this year. Two of our dog policies went up 50-60%. That is a completely unacceptable price increase. I feel there should be a law against this type of price gouging! I talked with the company and was given some excuse about pet claims in Missouri being really high last year. I don't buy the excuse! I had to decrease my coverage and am currently shopping for more affordable insurance. Warning, do not get Healthy Paws Pet Insurance!!!

Premiums are high and constantly increasing even though you may never have a claim. When you make a claim they constantly present obstacles. For instance, I gave them all the medical information they requested and then they delayed about a week and asked me for the same information again and again. They appear to use stall tactics not to pay claims. When I call their claims number I have to wait on the line for an enormous amount of time. They answer the phone fast when you call about making a premium payment or when you are inquiring about taking out a policy with them. In my experience with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance they only want to take money in but they provide little to no claims service. Do yourself a favor and find pet insurance elsewhere with a company that has a good claims reputation. I would give them a zero star rating.

I chose this company based on word-of-mouth and due to them not having yearly or lifetime payout caps. After only two years, my healthy dog (minus some minor allergy issues) has seen an increase in the monthly premium amount by more than 50%! In two years! When I contacted the company I was told that this is because they are paying out more in claims than they are collecting in premiums in my area/state. Basically, my premiums are going up because of other people’s animals. From year one to year two there was a ~14% increase. From year two to year three, the increase was just under 40%!

We've had Healthy Paws for 2+ years and it's been a great experience. They've paid all 3 of our claims for our Corgi's recurring joint problems within a matter of days. At first, we didn't realize we hadn't submitted all of the right documentation but when we filed our first claim they were quick to communicate what was needed and we got our $ quickly. Highly recommend!

My pet insurance premium went up 30% when my pup hit 7 and then another 50% when my pup hit 8. So if you buy their pet insurance, you can expect double digit increases when your pet hits senior age. Healthy Paws will tell you premium increases of any amount is within their legal right, that your state approved the increase, that they are just doing it cover their increasing costs. The sleazy part of pet insurance is that the consumer can't just switch companies because future insurance won't cover preexisting conditions, so I am stuck with the double digit increases despite how unfair it is. I regret buying with Healthy Paws - you will get no sympathy when you try to explain the havoc this will wreak on your budget.

My dog got heartworm. They covered medication costs only nothing for treatment costs and even that was a major pain to collect with them demanding complete medical history which they already have each time. Scam.

I had my two dogs covered through Healthy Paws insurance. I rescued both my dogs, so their histories were a bit unclear. Both dogs got full physicals from our vet after we adopted them. I submitted a claim for my 2 year old dog which healthy paws refused to cover medical tests because they claimed they were due to a pre-existing condition. My husband and I understood that and decided when we adopted our puppy this year, we would have him covered through Health Paws as well.

In a little more than 2 years, my cat's insurance premiums increased 43%. In a little more than 5 years, my premiums for my 3 dogs increased 126%, 136%, and 165%, respectively. When your pets are young and first enrolled, they do not fully inform you of how they will increase your premiums as your dogs age and claims add up. The increase of 136% was not due to any claims, just the passage of time. I do not recommend Healthy Paws, to which I now feel locked in because of the ages of my dogs. Very frustrating. It is not the security I thought I would be receiving.

Healthy Paws Insuranse is simply rip off! Stay away. The premiums for my healthy young dog went from $26 to $49. And I never once had a claim. The explanation I got from them?! “We count the whole amount of reimbursed claims and divide them across the board. So your state is high claims state. That why your premiums went up” WHAT!? I canceled the insurance. The money I spent could have been put aside for my dog elderly years. I read other reviews, other clients had the same complaint. I am seeing premiums charged over $100 a month over the years for a healthy pet. Ridiculous!

Here is my premium history since initial sign up:

My rates went up after I submitted 5 claims (didn’t even have the insurance for a year). After a major surgery on my pet’s leg, at day 10 they suddenly lost my paperwork and I had to start all over again and wait another 2 weeks to see what they’d pay. They take your percentage out of your deductible so in the end, you’re really paying more (20% with $250 deductible adds $50) of a deductible than you think.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been one of the greatest investments I have made for my 4 dogs. Without the policies, I would not have been able to afford the best care possible for them. From something minor, such as an ear infection, to a major surgery of a total hip replacement, Healthy Paws has allowed my dogs to live happy and healthy. Yes. The premiums increase every year. But that is to be expected, as premiums for human health insurance typically increase every year. Some years, the increase is more than expected, but even with the large increase, I had peace of mind knowing that had any medical scenario occurred, I could have my dog treated without the guilt of financial devastation.

Don't waste your time or money. They denied my claim on my kitten because previously he had a hairball when he was smaller and because I used words like "hacking" and "breathing weird" they said he had pre signup symptoms. Per my vet and medical records my cat was diagnosed and treated for a hairball. He was not diagnosed with or had problems with asthma until 8 months later when he was diagnosed with kitty asthma. He obviously was breathing weird because he was trying to cough it up. Much different than how he is now. They obviously are just going to search for a reason to not help than help. Spread the word and avoid Healthy Paws if you want my advice! Btw, I'm a nurse, the breathing described and discussed with my vet were very different. I was only panicked with the hairball because unfortunately a couple months before my cat suddenly died.

This is a rip-off company. All these advertising about covering for drugs and medical bill is all a lie. They only cover accidental so getting hit by a car is a very few that qualify and that's it. Stomachache, diarrhea, food poisons, fleas, skin condition, ear infection, you get ZERO. STAY AWAY.

My Dog is now five years old. I got HP Ins for him back in January 2017 when I adopted him. We started at $34 per month. Every year the premium is increased by $12 to $13. I am now on track to pay $70 per month. This is an over 100% increase in monthly premiums. My dog is healthy and has not needed to use the insurance. I am now dropping coverage as it will be cheaper to save or invest this money and pay out of pocket. This is a scam they will increase till you drop out. My dog life span is 13 to 15 years. I can only imagine what that premium will be.

This is a great company. I have never had a problem. My cat, Monica, got really ill and eventually passed but they were with me all of the ways through. I just got a new cat and am signing up with them again. I really like HP because you save money w/ the monthly premium because they don't cover routine visits/shots. I need insurance for emergencies, not routine visits. Thanks!

The company has audited the claim and found an error and will now take care of the bills. Thanks, Healthy Paws for getting this resolved.

The first claim I made was a disaster! After sending in ALL requested information, I received requests for MORE information! And, the company couldn't/wouldn't tell me WHAT information they still needed. We went back and forth...them. We need more information... (Too during this time, I kept receiving messages they were working on my "claim". I have 2 claims in to them. When I asked which claim, they couldn't/wouldn't tell me.) M. What do you need?... Them. We need more info... Me. What do you need/be specific...etc. So, I called their customer service. The clerk had a hard time finding any of my info. When she located it I told her I just needed to know what info they still needed. She said it looked like they had everything they needed. But 2 weeks later I was still only getting messages they needed more information... No closure on the claim!

I had to change my debit card number the website, which I did per their instructions. I even called them and it is also stated on their website and phone message to perform that task online. They canceled my account, they confirmed the number, that it was changed in time, confirmed all was fine on my part but for some reason they did not run it. It was not denied after the date so fully their mistake. I never even used the insurance, just paid and they refused to reinstate it. The first customer service rep was horribly rude, the second one flat out lied, the third was good and said I could re-enroll, but if I ever needed to file a claim I feel like I would be treated wrong again by customer service so I will not re-enroll with them.

Every single time that I submit a claim with them, which is usually for minor things like ear infections, allergy shots, etc., they request that my vet send her ENTIRE medical history. This doesn't sound so bad when you have a 6 month-old puppy, but she is now 5 years old and her history is that much longer. She recently had to have emergency surgery for a hernia that appeared and quickly progressed. She has a vet that comes to the house, so I had to take her to an emergency hospital to be evaluated and then to a separate hospital for the surgery 2 days later. In between, her vet sent her a rx for antibiotics. This happened in August. It is now the 2 days before October and I've only received reimbursement for ONE claim. There are 3 claims in total.
