In past had denial for our dogs allergy medicine due to preexisting condition. Our Vet wrote letter stating he does not officially diagnose a dog with allergies until at least one year old so preexisting denial was overturned and Figo paid claims for the allergy medicine and office visits for last 2 years. Now Figo has a new claims payor and they sent me an email stating they will no longer cover the allergy medicine and it is indeed preexisting. In addition monthly payment went up and coverage amount went down. Thinking of changing pet insurance companies.

My husband and I were on the fence about getting pet insurance for our golden retriever puppy but thank goodness we did! Our pup had a cyst on her intestines that required a $6,000+ surgery. It was so nice to not have to think twice about getting her the care she needed. Figo was super responsive and paid us quickly! Will always recommend pet insurance and Figo to my friends and family in the future!

We got Figo for our 2 dogs early on when we adopted them, we didn't have any major issues with either of them medically until our one dog became elderly and started to show signs of medical issues.He ended up having cancer that required his AG and a liver lobe to be removed, then chemo then he was okay for a while until he had end stage kidney failure. Figo covered 100% of everything after our deductible and refunded us within days, they literally reimbursed us roughly $25,000 over 18 months for our dear pup, who we ended up having to put down this past February. Get Figo, you will never regret it!

Hello. I am cannot speak more highly of your insurance if I tried. You have saved my year old dogs life. He was sick for 2 months and barely lived. We spend up to $7K in total for his vet bills. But with this program we got 80% of that money back. I cannot thank you guys enough for saving my dog. He is my best friend and was able to turn 2, happy and healthy, because of Figo Insurance.

Overall experience. We have had Figo for a little over 2 years now, and we love the service! The monthly price is great compared to other pet plans! For us Figo is the whole package, service, price and customer care!

Coverage for my 11-year-old cat, who developed an intestinal lymphoma, was excellent. Timeliness of the payments of multiple claims was unbelievably wonderful. Unfortunately, at the time of policy renewal for both of my cats, I was advised the company had partnered with a different underwriter and the premiums for each cat was increased by more than 250% -- and the dollar amounts of coverage was reduced! Needless to say, I did not renew the coverage.

I would give them 5 stars up until it was time for my annual renewal. They were absolutely wonderful and covered all claims quickly and with no argument. Once it was time for my annual renewal, because they switched their underwriter my premium went up by almost $40 a month, they took away a 5% discount I had previously received, my deductible jumped from $500 to $1000, and my reimbursement rate dropped from 90% to 80%. So in effect I’m paying way more to receive less.
I will continue to keep the insurance because now all my dog’s conditions are pre-existing so I can’t get a different provider but overall the huge jump in cost for a decrease in coverage and is disappointing. They are still efficient in processing claims but I’m not sure if I would so willingly recommend them like I used to. What’s going to happen when I’m due to renew again next year? Will my reimbursement drop to 50%? Will my premium become $300? Who knows at this point...

The price increase after just one year was substantial. We fortunately haven't needed the policy this year, but in the past service was excellent concerning claims and customer service has always been good. My only complaint is the increase in cost.

My experience was very positive for many years until the incredibly $$ shredding increase that was imposed this May. My deductible doubled, the amount covered reduced 30%, mo. payment increased 40%. Nothing I can do about it, but pay.

In May, our 3 and a half year old Lab/Shepherd mix Charlie began having severe cluster seizures out of the blue and was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. We've been to the emergency vet 5+ times to get him treated and on the right medication, and the cost has quickly run into the thousands of dollars. Without Figo, we probably would have lost our pup because we wouldn't have been able to afford the care he needs.
In retrospect, we couldn't have made a better investment, for ourselves financially or for Charlie. Paying for pet insurance every month and not using it (like we've done for the last two years) sometimes seems like an unnecessary expense, but when you need it, you'll be glad you have it, trust me. Very unhappy with the large monthly premium increases. My premiums have increased every single year that I’ve had the insurance. And because of this I’m considering not renewing my insurance plan that I have for both my dogs. At this rate of increase my dog's insurance will cost more than my own health insurance on a monthly basis.

I’ve had Figo since I got my puppy 4 years ago. It’s been great thus far. Exams are covered and my pup developed an allergy so he gets a shot every month which is also covered. My claims are opened via text and closed within a day. I highly recommend Figo coverage!

I can’t recommend Figo enough. I didn’t use any services for years, just paid monthly, but when my dogs time came, she crashed quickly. Suddenly I was facing thousands of $ of expenses if I wanted to try to prolong her life. When I confirmed her coverage with figo, a huge weight was lifted. To know that I could do whatever I thought was best for her, and not worry that I’d be going broke. It took a huge factor out of the equation and allowed me to focus on my dog and what was right for her. After she passed, Figo was amazing. I didn’t have to speak with anyone directly, I was too emotional, I was able to use chat to conclude all business.
The vet I ended up at actually filed a claim directly with Figo for me, so they had all the records when I went to follow up. There were no loopholes or hidden fees, I was reimbursed as my plan promised. After reviewing the vet records I was issued a lump sum within weeks of her passing. We just signed our other dog up last week!

We went from recommending your company as a pet insurer to feeling unhappily trapped. The policy changes after your company was purchased is devastating. We went from knowing we could always afford to help our cat's health to wondering which bill is going to be the one that forces us to make the decision to euthanize rather than save them. $200 deductible with 100% coverage (minus pre-existing) to $1000 maxing out at 80% coverage? AND you have the audacity to ask for MORE money each month for LESS coverage? Our senior cat has too many pre-existing conditions now to switch to a different insurer. I’ve had this cat in my life for 16 years. I’m so scared I’m going to lose him because insurance won’t be enough to help us make the decision to treat him anymore.

Getting pet insurance through Figo was the best decision I've ever made. When I rescued my big guy I knew I wanted pet insurance for a few reasons. First because everything is more expensive for big dogs and second because of the risk of plenty of health issues with them. Thankfully I got it when I did because shortly after he joined our family we found out he had a severe case of hip dysplasia. With everything we've gone through after finding out, Figo has been nothing but helpful and life saving! Thank you so much for being there when we need you most, for making the process so easy, and for having such amazing policies and still not price gouging!

I love Figo service however the change in underwriter more than doubled my rates. I have 2 other dogs that unfortunately I will be insuring with another company. I was told the only way to reduce my rate is to lower my coverage and that is not acceptable in my opinion. I shouldn't have to lose cover for it to stay affordable.

We found Figo at a pet fair about 4 yrs ago. We took a chance on Figo and have been very pleased with it! Submitting claims couldn't be easier, and reimbursement checks come quickly. I've never had a problem, and the few times that I've actually had to talk to a rep on the phone, it was a friendly person who answered my question quickly and easily. I've recommended Figo to several people, and even as lately as today!

Overall I have been disappointed. We have used Figo for years. The rates go up significantly each year for both our dogs. Sometimes claims are processed quickly and other times it’s weeks to get the refund. Most recently Figo decided they will no longer cover my dog's allergies after covering them for 4 years. They reviewed all their old files and saw she had itchy paws once 4 years ago the week we got her from the shelter. They used this to say her allergies were a pre existing condition. It’s fine- her allergy shot is $30 every few months, but it just bothers me that a company I’ve been loyal to would do this. I do appreciate being able to text customer service and speak with someone quickly when I have questions. We are looking for new insurance policies for our pups once this year is over.

I really, really loved Figo. I loved knowing my cat was safe and I could now afford to provide whatever he needed health wise. However, around the beginning of the year I noticed my previous policy (100% coverage, $250 deductible) had been switched without warning or consent to 90% coverage. Figo told me they switched underwriters. I was okay with this... not a big change, whatever.
Today, I found out that not only did they decrease my coverage, they also no longer provide dental coverage (including dental disease unrelated to poor hygiene, such as FORL). This was the final straw for me... it's just a little too risky to continue with them at this point due to the fact it seems they have been changing coverage for other pet owners willy-nilly as well. I would stay away UNLESS you are okay with being out $1-2k on a dental procedure for your pet.

The customer service at Figo and the user friendliness of their app and such is absolutely phenomenal. The cost of Figo is the exact opposite. They supposedly changed underwriters and the cost of my insurance is now ridiculous. Shame on them. They know that pet insurance policies don't cover pre-existing conditions so they are clearly just taking advantage of their customers. If I could drop them and still have my pet's conditions covered in the future I would just out of priciple.

My wife and I purchased a Figo policy the same week we brought our first puppy home. Unfortunately for our little guy, the first 4 - 6 months were tough for him, experiencing virtually every common illness a dog may suffer from, even having to be rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital at one point. Without our policy, the vet bills could have been a massive weight to carry. We've been so thankful we chose Figo, especially making the investment in their best product offerings. Figo has kept our puppy covered, and we never fear when walking into our vet.
Figo is easy to use, totally digital, and filing claims is super fast. We usually see our payment come through within 1-2 days. To top it all off, their service and staff have been nothing but kind, patient, and flexible. I would HIGHLY recommend Figo to anyone. Anytime we talk about our dog with friends, family, and strangers, Figo inevitably comes up. We've had such a good experience with them, we want others to know that there's an insurance company out there that does it right. Buy with confidence!

Great customer service. Great coverage. Fast claim payment. I've had claims paid in as little as 45 minutes. Usually takes a day. If I submit in Saturday, the claim is usually paid on Monday. Love the app. I have been with them for a year+ and have been very happy.

My dog, Khaleesi, became very sick last June & required 2 weeks of hospitalization. We were very fortunate to have purchased an insurance policy from Figo. I found it very easy to submit my bills & documentation online to Figo & my claims were processed very quickly. I highly recommend Figo to all my friends. Khaleesi's bills were very expensive & it would have been extremely difficult to cover the cost of her medical treatment without having pet insurance. I can't thank Figo enough for making the process so easy during a very stressful time for me. We have been loyal Figo customers for many years. Out of nowhere, you increased our premiums exponentially with no reason or explanation. We are looking to change companies now. Your policies appear highly unethical.

FIGO was excellent. As promised by the FIGO Policy, it paid for the emergency cancer surgery for my cat. Although doctors cannot cure him, they have bought us time with him. Thanks to FIGO, we did not have to wrestle with a difficult decision.

By far the best coverage for the best price bar none. Took care of my 2 year old dogs CCL surgery no questions asked. I just took a picture of the bill on the app and sent it in and I had the money in my account within days. I always recommend Figo and will be using them for every animal I own!

They consistently raise rates and decrease the levels of benefits provided. Tough to switch insurance companies once conditions are deemed pre existing so now I’m somewhat stuck with them. I would never recommend them to any other dog owner. Sometimes difficult to get them reimburse certain medical bills as well.

Figo has been so supportive of my situation with my Wire Fox Terrier-they have been with me from day one of my dog's Bladder Cancer, (so far) covering him every step of the way-FIGO is without a doubt the best pet insurance company in the world--at this point they give the most comprehensive coverage every pet owner should have if tragedy strikes your pet---WAY TO GO FIGO!!!!

My 7 year old cat was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was devastated but so grateful I had chosen to get Figo. The claim and reimbursement process has been simple and quick. My cat is now in remission and the process was as stress free as it could be thanks to my Figo insurance plan. I tell people about it all the time and highly recommend getting their own pet insurance for their fur babies.

Disappointed. I used to be the biggest Figo fan and would tell everyone that ask me about pet insurance how great it was. But things changed. I chose Figo for the coverage options that they had and the flexibility of deductible and cost. Since joining these costs have increased, some expectedly and others not, but no they even changed the coverage options. Plus with their new coverage option costs are significantly more than competitors for the same level of coverage. I’m weighing the costs/benefits of staying with Figo for the existing condition coverage but my dog hasn’t had any significant issues so I’m not too worried about switching away from Figo.

I have had them for two years now and am very satisfied with their services. They are very prompt in responding to claims and the customer service is A+. If there are delays, it is because they don't have all the necessary information for your claim. The monthly premiums are a bit high, imo, but the quality of what I'm getting is good so I'm willing to pay it.

I have had an excellent experience with FIGO. Been with them two years and never had an issue with payment. Rate went up significantly after first year and rate stayed the same second year but coverage decreased and copay increased. However, still worth it. I had a few thousand in claims.

I’m not pleased with the fact that our rate keeps increasing. I signed up with a specific plan with a specific deductible and percentage back and I don’t think it’s fair to change my rates and my package because your company decided to switch to a new underwriter. Thinking about switching to a different company.

If you have carefully reviewed your contract of coverage, you should be very happy with Figo. They process claims quickly; they can communicate electronically if you choose; they can also make prompt direct deposit payments. Most important to me as a former insurance adjuster is that they tend to resolve questions in the contract in favor of the insured rather than themselves. This is technically required of all insurers but it has been my experience that few actually do this.

I was very disappointed that you switched Brokers. By doing so, you increased my premiums by more than double and with my older Golden your premium triples. This caused me to have to cancel my older dog's health insurance altogether. I use to promote FIGO to all my friends with pets but will no longer encourage people to get Pet Insurance with FIGO.

Everything can be done online and is a great source to keep all of your pet's records. They are very quick to communicate claims. Only downfall is they just raised premiums and deductibles. May not be worth the price after you add both together. Great service either way.

Puppy has Figo since 10 weeks old. We chose unlimited coverage with $200 deductible. Phone App allows filing claims in vet’s office with photos of vet statements. Paid usually within 4-7 days via bank deposit. Love reminders for vaccines, flea & tick, heartworm, vet checkups. Monthly fees reasonable. You will not regret Figo.

This insurance if awful! I am so angry I wasted money on it. Everything that I have submitted to them has been denied. My dog has had to have multiple surgeries and any claim I have submitted was denied. I am going to cancel if they deny my appeal.

I've had Figo Insurance for my 2 year old mixed breed since I rescued him at 4 months old. The premiums have been fair and well worth the service. Submitting paperwork has been easy and the customer service has always been helpful. I couldn't imagine not have insurance for my pup if some medical emergency happened that I couldn't afford. I'll cancel all of my TV subscriptions before I would go without Figo!

The customer service at Figo is amazing! I have been a policy holder for five years and could not be happier. Their technology platform is amazing. I file claims on my phone and the money gets deposited right into my checking account. I recently lost my dog after 15 amazing years and Figo was there for me. I was able to text live with a vet through their mobile app during the last few days of his life. It helped so much. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I've had this insurance for my dogs for about 5 years. After the first two years I received a large increase on my premium and was told it was because the rates were too low compared to the national average. 5 years later they have changed underwriters and now my policy has not only increased by $350 a year, but they went and change my policy coinsurance without my consent. The customer service representative let me know that no other pet insurance would cover any of the pre-existing conditions my dogs have been treated for and that there is nothing they can do. So either I cancel my insurance or I pay over $2,000 a year for pet insurance. This company will lure you in with low premiums and then hit you with high premium increased every 2 years, at which point your dogs are 4 or 5 years of age and have seen a vet several times knowing that no other pet insurance company will cover those conditions.

A 3-year customer of Figo here. My 6-year old boxer mix, Yuki, had to have knee surgery to address a torn ACL last year. I filed a claim for her the same day as the surgery and within hours it was closed. A couple days later the money was directly deposited back into my account. For her follow-up visits, we received the same quick turnaround on claims. I am thrilled with the high level of service I received from Figo through this stressful time. Never regret our decision to insure Yuki with Figo--thank you!

I am so ashamed of myself for signing up for this pet insurance. I have been paying on my policy for almost a year. I needed to file a claim for my cat as she was throwing up. I took her to the vet hospital they really did not find anything wrong with her. They did give her some medicine as they felt she may be having a problem with defecating. My cat had this problem around 3 years ago but the vet did not find anything that was causing this. She said she may have eaten something that caused this. Of course, when I submitted my claim to FIGO they denied it as they stated that this was a precondition that was not covered. My total vet bill was $932. I agreed to the additional testing as I thought I was covered under this insurance plan. Big mistake!!!! When I called the lady would not provide me the legal address to provide to my attorney nor would she provide me anyone else to speak with. She stated that she was the only person in the office.
I asked to speak with her manager and of course, they were not available. This is a typical insurance response when they do not want to payout. She kept tell me that they do payout for services and recently paid a $20,000 claim. HA HA HA, what was that the one claim for the year and this has been added to your script to defuse customers? Cats get sick and mine does about every 6 months or so but it passes. Their response was as follows: "Cat has a history of intermittent vomiting and constipation over the last 2 years. She has episodes about every 6 months where she will be straining to defecate and will produce either nothing or large dry fecal balls. She always vomits and cries during the days when she is sick.
Chronic intermittent vomiting, constipation, anorexia, +/- diarrhea" But this is not covered as they consider this as a precondition prior to taking out my policy. Again, they have no intention of paying anything out and they expect their payment every month on time. Think the only way you could get a claim is that it has to be a newborn with no problems and then maybe they will payout something but like most insurance companies they will find a loophole. Please I beg you not to make the same mistake I did. I am so ashamed and embarrassed I allowed myself to be taken advantage of.

Started my policy when my puppy was less than one year. When it came time for policy renewal (one year later), they raised our premium from $352.81 to $618.65 and deductible from $200 to $500. Needless to say, I'm canceling my policy.

I have recently found out my cat has cancer. I submitted all prior medical records and two claims to cover the initial costs for the exams. I'm being told it can take up to two weeks for this to be back in my account. She has never had a pre-existing condition and I'm so sick because the bills are rising and this insurance company is not doing anything. Why pay a monthly premium and do everything they ask, and it's complete silence while your pet is sick and needs help. I'm running out of money and no answer from them on at least where they are in the process is frustrating and stressful during a time that is difficult already. This is the whole reason I got insurance is in case my pet is sick and I can't get any help here. You should really be more responsive and let your customers know where the claims are in the process and it shouldn't take this long to be paid back.

Cost to sign up our 3 yr old tabby with no prior medical issues was $209. Then a year later they increased premium to $420. Their only explanation was that the cost of writing insurance policies had increased, so they had to adjust their premiums accordingly. See ya later, Figo!

Do not buy this insurance. It's a total bait and switch. They have attractive rates when you start, but last year my premium went up 25%, and they said it was a adjustment to level their prices with other companies. I just got my annual increase, and this year it went up over 30%. Their prices go up faster than even my own health care costs. They will respond to this and other postings saying they will work with you, but all that means is that they will adjust your coverage to make your monthly payment lower, but you are also giving up coverage or raising your deductibles. My dog is only 2 and has been very healthy. There is no reason for these types of increases except pure greed on their part.

I had Figo on my little puppy. I also paid extra to cover vet visits. I submitted three separate claims and they denied all of them. They gave me the runaround on why they declined my claims. They had no intention on paying the claims so my advice cancel this insurance if you have it and find an insurance that actually works. Don’t waste your money on this one. You won’t see a dime of the money owed to you.

We were covered by FIGO from July 2017 until July 2018. Prior to coverage effect we took our kitten to our vet for her first check-up and she was found healthy. We submitted the records to FIGO as required. During the first several months, they refused every claim for our 4 month old kitten asserting everything was a "pre-existing condition".
By October 2017 I was fed-up, so I sent them a strongly worded letter where I explained in part: "Every insurance contract has an unwritten, invisible, or implied term referred to as the covenant or promise of good faith and fair dealing. This is a promise imposed by law upon an insurance company to always act fairly towards its insured in handling their claims. Denying benefits, delaying payments and paying less than what is owed are examples of acting unreasonably and constitute bad faith. Other actions or inactions that may be bad faith are if the insurance carrier fails to thoroughly and promptly investigate your claim. In my estimation the apparent failure to investigate my claim leading to the unwarranted denial of said claim is gross mismanagement needling dangerously close to the appearance of bad faith insurance practices."
I then threatened to report them (FIGO) to our State Department of Insurance. After this, they paid my claim and I never heard from them again. They always paid every claim. (Suspicious action in my estimation. I believe they didn't want to have someone investigating their practices.) Now, here at the end of July, it is time to renew our policy. They hiked up our rate 100 percent! For a healthy 1 year old cat! They also did so with zero transparency. They sent an email out in June explaining "some states could potentially see a rate increase".
They then gave no information as to which states would see an increase or by what amount. They instructed us to log-in and see if we would be affected. We did and we were not. 3 weeks later, we still were not affected. Then today, when payment for the next year would be due, we found they increased the rate 100 percent. We are so disgusted by this company and advise you strongly to avoid it like the plague! Companies like this one should be shamed out of business.

Expect slow processing and then if you have a question or complaint, someone to argue with you about how you don’t know how insurance works. Not happy so far. They want vet records for everything uploaded and then it just sits there in an uploaded file. Have been paying premiums but have not received a payment for anything yet.
