I ordered a gray skirt and paid through PayPal...big mistake. I paid in total $13.78 for the skirt. I wanted to return it and exchange for a bigger size. Woman Within does not do exchanges through PayPal. So I said that once I see my refund in PayPal for the skirt, I would re-order another skirt. Then I get the refund notice that they are refunding me $.29! $.29! Because they charged me $7.99 for the skirt because I had a discount and another $7.50 for the return label charge!! And then I am supposed to pay for another skirt?? What? Forget it. Not doing business with them again.

You must pay return shipping on returns, even when their mistake. I did order one pair of capris and two tunics. Total cost for bra, capris, and tunics was $80.00. They have charged over $300.00 to my credit card. They lie on the phone, provide such poor customer service, and cheat you out of your money. I entered my CC info and the last page said 'site down' so I called CS and they saw the order but it did not process & she told me she couldn't order it because 'there are over fourth suits to have to look through'. I'm glad I never ordered, that's the shoddiest CS I've ever encountered!

I have been a Woman Within customer for at least 15 years. No more. I canceled our $300.00 order. I will shop with a company that wants my business and values my years of patronage. Recently I placed an order, under my long held account, using a relative's credit card, which had a name and address I had used SEVERAL times in the past. They sent me a confirmation email and then I waited. Ten days later my relative called to say she received a postcard from Woman Within asking her to call. The customer service rep at Woman Within said my order was sent to Customer Protection to verify the credit card, but they sent a card to my relative, taking 10 days without filling the order, as, "there was no email or valid phone number on file."

When I asked why I received a confirmation email but no email about a delay, the rep first said no email was linked to the order and later said their job was to protect the card holder and they did not contact the person who placed the order. (Strangely, the confirmation email was addressed to my relative - although the rep stated there was no email on file for my relative...the rep had no answer for this and told me "this never happens".) After more discussion, the rep stated no one could order at Woman Within and use a different credit card - regardless of the 15 year account history using the same names and addresses. The Customer Protection rep and her supervisor were not apologetic, did not care my order was delayed and did not seem to care whether I canceled the order or not.

I had to ask to make a formal complaint at least 6 times before I was told my complaint about the process would be sent to a customer complaint department. The supervisor kept avoiding my direct question and defending the department's practice, stating my complaints would be "documented in my account." Not helpful. This practice is not helpful either to people who don't have a credit card available or those who ask others to shop for them. I do this often for my relative. Woman Within must lose a lot of business. I have placed orders using my relatives card on many sites through the years. Woman Within has been problematic in the past - shipping is slow and costly, returns are slower and even more costly and the clothing can be cheaply made. I suppose this was my wake up call to quit patronizing a business that cares so little for their customers. A heads up email to say there is a delay in my order would somehow be too effortful or breach security? Yeah.

To get what you should, be prepared to fight for it. Somehow they LOST all previous orders I had placed proving I had made the required purchases to get a free bra. Well, with proof available and a lot of arguing since they wanted to change their argument to get out of the agreement on a few fronts (no order showing, not enough bras purchased, you were given two accounts when you moved it changed to a new acct number, and finally we sent an email with a 60 day deadline- didn't you get it?) When I returned them with their label they charged me for the delivery and an additional $9.00 receiving charge. The email I received said nothing about any charges, just that they received my item. I therefore assumed I had a zero balance, come to find out that the next month I had all these charges plus a late fee! While I don't have a problem with where my pants were made, it would have been nice if they would have checked the sizing to see if it was accurate. I am an 18W and what they have labeled as 18W is an 18 regular size. There is about a 3-4 inch difference which is rather embarrassing when going to try to button up a pair of pants. All four pair were the wrong size. When I went to the return site it said I would be charged for the return shipping out of my refund or credit (like I would want to try ordering anything else). I guess it is a stupidity charge for being stupid enough to order anything from a catalog like theirs and expecting it to be what I was wanting when I placed the order. From now on I buy my clothes at the store.

Woman Within is a horrible company with spectacularly incompetent people answering the phones in all areas of the company. They try to nickel and dime you to death with their so called coupons and give-a-ways. And when you try to take advantage of their so called offers, they say "well, that's not what the offer said" or they make up something as they go along, leave right there while you are talking to them and trying to resolve the problem. They never show the shipping or tax until AFTER you key in a "coupon" - because after you use your coupon, your shipping and taxes are much higher than without. They will make that money difference up by any means necessary! I don't even know why they bother to have a "customer service department" because they don't listen to you and they talk over you in an argumentative way while you are talking to them. This company may as well be organized crime!

I then asked them to cancel my order and they refused and said I would have to ship them back (at my expense mind you) and they would waive the return fee. What return fee? This is unacceptable. I have been previously a good customer of Woman Within. As an example, I have bought approx 11 pairs of jeans in the past yr. I recently ordered 3 pairs of jeans, having gotten a $25.00 coupon from them. I ordered the wrong style #, as the jeans that I ordered and the ones that I like are very similar and are the same price. So when I received the jeans today, I realized my mistake and called them to order the ones that I wanted. I was told that they couldn't honor the $25.00 off because the coupon had expired and it was a different style #.. Again even though they are the exact same price!

Also if I sent them back for an exchange, I still wouldn't get the $25.00 off. What really ticks me off is there policy that no sale is ever final and that you have 90 days to return the item for refund or exchange. So because the coupon expired (which what coupon do you know of, where the coupon wouldn't have expired by the time you get the product??), and because the item # is different, they have lost a good customer who will never shop with them again. How stupid on their part.

The person I spoke to took my order and I told her I had requested another size in the return package. But this morning, when I checked my bank account, I find that they have added 2 new charges. I was told I would receive a refund for one of the charges, but the customer rep I talked to was dismissive and impatient and I will still be out almost $16 extra. There seems to be a disconnect between departments here, and no one is particularly interested in helping or communicating with the customer or other departments within the company. A second round of automated customer support produced an automated "Your order is cancelled" and a live email saying coupons are only good "while supplies last." I have ordered from Women Within on a few occasions. Several have not been good experiences. Once I called because I had trouble with an online order and they would not help. It was basically a "too bad for you" attitude. This week takes the cake. I ordered three packages of panties. One package was 20% off. I received them in two separate mailings. When I got the first one, they were so huge you could put them on a horse. I sent them back noting the return slip as "too big" and asked for an exchange for a smaller size. I put the code and the price of the smaller size on the return slip. Of my $74 order, they refunded me $46. They charged me for the return shipping and $7.50 for each package. Okay, I was ripping mad, but I bit my tongue. I get an email from them saying my exchange has been shipped.

The price of the one package was $21.99 but the price of the smaller size is $16.99. So I called Customer Service and they acknowledge the error. So they tell me they will correct package number two that has not yet been shipped and has two packages of panties to $16.99 each and give me the 20% off one of the packages which I got on the first order. Okay, I'm still mad about the shipping and return fee, but at least they will correct the second order. NOT.. I get the email on the second order and it is $21.99 for each of the two packages and no 20% off. They FRAUDULENTLY charged me the wrong price after acknowledging it was wrong and bold faced lied to me. OHHHHH... and they sent me the wrong panties..... I now am full on vegan, and my health has improved. I wear a size 9/10 jean, a 36 D, and have a 22-inch waist. Their sizes sometimes go to a size 12; they no longer can fit me. So even if I wanted to deal with them and their strange practices, they are of no use to me. I do not wear polyesters, a favorite fabric of WW; I wear natural fabrics only. And I prefer to buy gently used classics, as I refuse to pay these prices for synthetics, or for natural fabrics in other stores which may be able to fit me. I believe in buying American. I did not and stated that. After my reply, I did not receive any further emails. I sent 3 more emails and still there is no response. It is now too late to file a complaint with my credit card regarding Woman Within's outright theft. Buyers Beware.

On August 7, 2012, I ordered shorts from Woman Within. When I received the shorts, one pair was way too big, even though they were both the same size. I returned the too big pair via Staples UPS service. I was credited to my Visa account for what I thought was the shipping charge from the original order. I never received the credit to my Visa for the returned shorts or an exchange pair. I called today (11/5/12) and was told that the credit I received was for 1/2 the price of the returned shorts. When I asked why only 1/2, I was told that is their policy if an item is returned because of size. So if something you order is too small or too big, you only receive 1/2 of the cost. Stay away from this company. I'm not sure this is even legal. Do not order anything from then. Let others know this.

Quality has been going down for years. Sizes are way off. Knits and t-shirts run large - 2 sizes or more too big - and woven fabrics are not proportionate. I purchased their patented bra design - Comfort Choice with the half wire. I wore this one day, and the wires broke through the fabric! Totally poor quality! I bought a dress, and seams unraveled when washed. Night gown is 2 sizes too big!

Their products are of extremely poor quality and their sizing is way off. With everything that I ordered, I measured myself by their size chart and could have fit 2 of me in the items. When I returned them and ordered 2 sizes smaller, they were still huge. I was double-billed on everything I ordered so I had to waste my time calling and getting transferred from one person to another; however, I am still waiting for credits to show on my CC statement. The fabrics are of poor quality - anything with fleece pills after the 1st wash and the cottons stretch in the wrong direction. There is no quality in this company at all. They are affiliated with Roaman's, OneStopPlus, and numerous other companies. Buyers beware: the clothes do not last.

A flat shipping fee of $7.50 to return is charged to you whether you use their UPS label or not, so you might as well use it. What a rip-off! I could have sent the shirt back via post office for $2.00, but I sent it with their UPS label, because they take that amount out of your refund regardless. If I'd used the post office, I would have been charged a total of $9.50. Again, a total rip-off on shipping. Even the shipping fee is way higher than what the items actually cost - they use cheap plastic bags to ship them in.

I'm still dealing with them a month later to try to get my refunds. Watch for double-billing on your credit card statement and keep calling them every few days until you get online and it shows on your CC statement as a credit. My suggestion is: stay away from this company and make sure any other companies you deal with are not affiliated with them. I have found at least 4 companies that they are linked with. Buyers beware and do your research.

Woman Within regularly sends out damaged merchandise and then tries to charge a re-stocking fee on it when refunding. They know most people will not hassle with the time it takes to get this resolved so they make a profit on damaged merchandise even if it is returned to them. 75% of items I've purchased from them in the past have been damaged. I've had to call or email back and forth numerous times to get my proper refund. It is a waste of my time & is very frustrating - I'll never order from them again.

On Monday, the 27th of 2010, I received a package from Woman Within and the shipment didn't have all the items that I had ordered. As I did not receive what I ordered, I called the company and was told that all items in my order weren't shipped out at one time. I went back online to my account to find a tracking number and see if my order was shipped out to me. I came to find out it was not shipped so I called the company again and politely asked them to check to see what was going on with my order. I spoke to a customer representative and her name was Tacara. She apologized for that and said she was sorry about all the items that I had ordered were not shipped out to me at one time.

She also told me that she will take off the shipping charge and credit my account the amount of $81.57. They will ship them out in express one-day service and that I should receive my order by Thursday, which is today 07/1/10. I went back to my account to see if it had been shipped and if it had a UPS tracking number. The said order had not been shipped, so I called the company again on 07/1/10 and talk to another customer representative. He was very rude. I asked him to cancel my order and he told me that he couldn't do that and I asked why not? He told me to look and at that time I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said yes, but it’s going to take 15 mins.

I replied and said it doesn't matter as long as I speak to a supervisor and that's when Brent came on the phone and I had explained to him the situation about my order and who all I had talked to about my order. I told him I had wanted to cancel the order and he told me I couldn't because the order was in process to be shipped. I replied that it didn’t say any of that online. It said to contact the company about my order.

Charges made to credit card without authorization. They're preying on senior citizens, representing companies with confusing advertising. My mother unwittingly signed up for a cosmetic subscription. Also, she was charged for other purchases on Woman Within credit card rather than her Chase which is what she wanted. Return credits and cancellations were not reflected. A processing fee charged because she has no computer access. A total confusion.

I was a very loyal customer of Lane Bryant for far over approximately 30 years. I say this amount because my children, with the youngest one now 38, were youngsters at the time. I worked very hard on trying to keep my payments up. Yes, I fell behind from time to time, but I always got caught up. Well, approximately two years ago, my account was transferred to a Woman Within account. Even before the transfer, any new purchases I made, I would write out a check for the total amount instead of adding to my credit amount. I do this with all orders that I make now because I am up in age, now 81 years old, and I have been trying to pay everything off so that I will not leave a bill for my children when I pass on. With making purchases like this, I would often miscalculate the correct amount and so I would often get small credits or checks from the various companies I was dealing with. With handling my business like this, you would assume that my bills were decreasing instead of increasing.

When Woman Within took over Lane Bryant, I never made another purchase from them because I really did not like what I saw in Woman Within's catalogs. So the only thing that I should have been paying on that account should have been my old Lane Bryant purchases. Well, the bills that I was receiving from Woman Within seemed to never go down. First I thought it was because my payments would often be late because the only income I have is from Social Security and my check would not be in my bank account until the third of the month. Getting frustrated, I wrote them a note trying to explain my situation. I thought maybe they would or could change my due date, but nothing changed. The amount due seemed to be growing more and more and I just could not understand why. I was not making any purchases, so why was my amount due increasing? I finally asked my daughter to see if she could figure out what was going on. She thought it had to be because of the purchases I made. I told her that I never made any purchases and that I was just trying to pay the bill off. It seemed like I should have paid the bill off by now, because, it was not too high.

She saw where there were numerous purchases on my account. I never noticed the purchases because, by fault of my own, I never read the statements. I figured there was no use since I wasn't purchasing anything. I would just tear off the stub and write a check out for whatever amount was due. I should have paid more attention, but I trusted that the bill was correct. Well, with more searching into the mysterious purchases, we found out that Woman Within mistakenly combined my information with the information of another customer. Her name, address and telephone number was similar to mine’s. When this was discovered, I tried to repeatedly tell them that the purchases were not mine. After their first investigation into the matter, they said that the purchases were received by me and it was proven by UPS records. I then went online to UPS and put the tracking number that was given to me from Woman Within onto their page and the only info that UPS gave online was the drop off time, area dropped off, city and state. Well, like I said before, the other customer lived in my same city and state, so of course they (Woman Within) would assume that it was me who received the package.

So, I then called UPS and asked for the exact address that the package was delivered to and they gave me the address of the other customer. I then wrote Woman Within back trying to, yet again, explain to them that I, in fact, did not receive the packages in question. I, again tried to also explain that I had not made any purchases from Woman Within and instead, the only bill that I should have been paying on was my Lane Bryant bill. Finally, one day, after numerous correspondences and telephone calls, I received a letter in February 2009 stating that I was owed $165.80 and my balance was now $0. I really felt that they owed me more, but I was just relieved that the ordeal was over, (so I thought). I even spoke with a representative that stated to me that the bill was finally issued to the correct customer.

The following month, I received a statement with the same purchases that I had disputed, on there. I had to start calling again and a representative verified that the other woman was billed for the purchases and so I responded to her that now they were trying to get a double payment. I had to put my dispute in writing again, and explained this whole ordeal over again, before they would investigate it, yet again. Well, today, May 1, 2009, I received a letter stating that they already applied a credit of $423.83 on 1/19/2009 and as of today, my account balance is $456.94!

I have been fighting this since October 2008 and it seems that no one will really look into this case. I do not know what to do now. I have even thought of going to this woman's house and confronting her, but that could turn ugly. Furthermore, who is to say that she hasn't been paying this same bill, too. So, I don't know if this is also a case of fraud, but I do know that I have been paying for clothes that I have never seen or purchased. I need help. I think I need a lawyer, but my Social Security check barely pays my way as it is. Can someone help me or at least point me in the right direction?

I first applied for a Lane Bryant catalog and credit card. They then sent a woman within catalog which I had ordered several items. Later they asked if I would fill out a survey for them for discounts on products. A few weeks later I found a $14.95 charge on my bank statement for UMG money ahead. I said I did not ask for this. The bank said it came from a woman within survey I completed. This was in fine print that I never noticed. I was furious. I called to cancel every thing I have through Lane Bryant, Woman Within & all catalogs and accounts. This is so bogus. No physical damage, I was just amazed at how crooked companies work. I will never deal with them again!

First off...this phone number is the one that they put in the letter for contacting them...it is a number for Dell that is no longer in service! Anyway, I have been trying to close this account since September, 2007. I had always paid my bill online, but about every 5-6 months, I couldn't get in to pay the bill, which went to having to call to make payment by phone, which was a $10.00 charge for paying by phone.

I got tired of doing this, so cut up card, made out a check for 2 months payments and sent it in with a letter requesting the account be closed! I thought everything was ok until I got a paper bill in and it was saying I owed $101.00 About this time I was applying for a loan; at that time I was told that it was showing up on my credit report that I had all of these marks against me for not paying! The guy that I was getting the loan through, suggested that they cut a check for the $101.00 and just pay it off. OK, so now this is 2 times they have been "paid off". I wrote a pretty nasty letter to mail in with the check. Finally I heard back from them. The first letter said that their records showed that the account had been closed on 10/16/07, and also this is the letter they gave me the phone number, (that is no good).

I also got another letter from them saying that as of 5/24/08, my balance is $22.43 with a credit limit of 0. I guess my complaint is that if an account is closed, why does my balance keep going up and WHY do I have to keep paying this balance? I have talked to my attorney about this and he suggested first to do the complaint filings with the credit agencys, as well as with anything I can file a complaint with.
