Debit card charged without giving authorization.
Reviewed Aug. 5, 2008
I have a graphic design studio and have used VistaPrint frequently in the past in order to keep the prices for my services low - many of my clients are small business start-ups. I noticed an odd charge on my debit card last month but thought it was part of a print order I'd placed. But now I see another charge this month - another $14.95 VistaPrint Rewards charge. I would never sign up for a rewards program that costs money - I think it's ridiculous to do so on.
I always look over my order forms very carefully to make sure no extra boxes are checked, and I reviewed my account and order history on their website and there is no indication that I've willingly signed up for any extra program, nor did I ever receive in any form a confirmation of such an account (I'd have canceled ON THE SPOT if I had). We're working with the bank to reverse the charges and block future charges. I've been put on hold with VistaPrint and can't sit and wait all day to talk to someone - I have a business to run.
So aside from the $29.90 in fraudulent charges, VistaPrint has cost me so far 4 hours of business time, not including what I may have to go through to close my bank account and open a new one, and re-route all the automatic payments and direct deposits, which is likely to cost me at least 5-8 more hours. Considering that my time is valued at $60/hr, this scam will end up costing me a about $750. If a class action suit is filed, by all means contact me.

We keep having to cancel credit cards and deal with fraud services at our bank because Vistaprint keeps getting hold of our credit card numbers and making false charges. The bank re-imburses us but it is such a hassle having to cancel cards constantly! I don't know what website is leaking the information to them, but it is a terrible problem!

I have used vistaprint to print postcards and was pleased with the printed products...however, when I saw an unauthorized charge to my bank account for $14.95 from Passport to Fun I was shocked. Apparently, when you give them your credit card information, they use it for several free trial 30 day offers which, of course, you know nothing about until the money comes out of your account.
After calling my bank, Vistaprint and Passport to Fun, I have been told the money will be put back into my account within 60 days. I personally, feel it is fraud, but I am not an attorney. Beware when ordering anything from this company!

Ordered the free business cards. subsequesntly, I learned that I was enrolled in the Vista Print Rewards Program at a monthly cost of 14.95 per month. I was never able to access the website to find out what my reward entailed. Repeated attempts to find out how to stop these charges were futile over the phone because the line was susally busy.
I finally filed a complaint with my credit card company and the charges were removed as of the end of July 08. However, I have learned that this company is well known for this practice with Capitol One and Chase in the complaint departments.
Today, I contact Capitol One and requested that I talk with a senior complaint supervisor. The irony is that this lady at Captiol One had gone through the same nonsense with Vista Print in 1996. I explained the situation to her that Cpatiol One should look at the BIG PICTURE and realize that this sompany is probably costing them more in complaint processing fees and goodwill than what they are making from the processing fees. She indicated that she will bring the matter up. I suggested that the company needs to stop wasting time on processing one complaint after another. Instead they need to remove Vista Print from thier charge system.
I spent a considerable amount of time and agravation trying to cancel this rewards program. What needs to be cancelled is Vista Print.

I ordered a batch of business cards from Vista Print... NOTHING else.. I am moving into a new home and starting a new business on a shoestring budget at the moment.. I never would have joined these services especially at this time. But a charge bounced I noted that I had these two recurring charges and had no idea where they came from... Vista Print... had without my permission enrolled me in those services....It was an ordeal especially with the bad timing...
I had overdraft charges due to these stupid people I may have got them with much arguing to refund the money I am still out the overdraft charges that they created... and the stress it caused The Passport to Fun people are rude. The definitely caused damage more than an unauthorized charge a check bounced that shouldn't have..

I orderd business cards from vista print and months later, they charged 14.95 against my credit card without my authorization. when I called my credit card company, they gave me the merchant number to call. I called the Vistaprint and they told me that I am in their reward program. I never signed up for any reward program. The lady I spoke with told me that I should have unchecked all the boxes when I was ordering. I did sign up for any special program reward at all, so I told her. I also told her that this is Vistaprint problem, they designed their website to fraud people.
I asked for my money back and she said they will credit it back within 2-5 busienss day. I am waiting to see it credited otherwise, I will call my credit card company again to dispute the charges.
I think Vistaprint designed their website for fraud, I hope that the Government will do something about this as soon as possible. Where is the trust in the internet transaction. I will never recommend vistaprint to anyone, in addition, I will warn everyone I know against using vistaprint.

I am sad to see the Vistaprint Rewards complaints, because this company has been pulling all kinds of fast-ones on their customers for years and-I guess-still getting away with it. A few years back I was signing off their site after my purchase and a pop-up said Get 10% off your next purchase-click here. I did and I was sent to some web site that wanted me to join for $9.95/month for some FREE business tools. I declined, but sure enough for months afterward I was charged $9.95 on my credit card for their so-called tools. (I never received a thing; I never signed up and never gave them myh credit card.) At that time VistaPrint would not help me and I finally had to threaten to sue then and report them for credit card fraud before I got my $$ back.
Sometime later I paid $40 for a logo set that I was able to download, but I was never told it would only work on Windows and I have a MAC. I asked and asked for my money back and never got it. They said they delivered the product and too bad if I couldn't use it. Vista Print has beautiful products and its a real shame that they won't just stand on the quality of their work, charge a bit more if they need to.
I am out $40.00 for a logo that I worked hard to create and can't use. It was a long while ago, however, and the only way I would be involved with any legal action would be as part of a class action. I only lost $40-these folks seem like they lost hundreds! I will just never use Vista Print again.

Vistaprint has a whole host of 'offers' after you do business with them. You can click 'no', and say you do not want them, but guess what: they might still get added to your account. That's what happened to me.
What to do: 1. Call you bank and hotcard your account. They'll send you a new card. The old one is dead. 2. Call the company that is charging you; your bank can give you the phone number if you can't get it otherwise. 3. Explain calmly that you did not intend to sign up for anything, and was not aware of doing it. 4. Ask for a refund and cancellation of the account. Should take 2-3 days. 5.If the charges don't refund--go to your bank and file the affidavit for fraud. Don't go to VistaPrint anymore. This worked for me. Good luck.

I just ordered some of those "free" business cards... In the process of trying to claim my $10.00 discount, I started to get the idea that somethings was not right.
I called all the phone numbers I could find associated with VistaPrint and found that I had been signed up for 5 (FIVE!) programs.
I called the BusinessMax number and I was able to cancel one program over the phone without talking to anyone. I received an email that stated a membership number and that the membership had been cancelled.
I called the VistaPrint help number and eventually talked to someone named Marci. I told her that I had 'misunderstood' the prompts and asked her if I had signed up for any memberships; her answer, I had signed up for 4!
I told her to cancel all memberships. She indicated that I should receive 4 emails that would be confirmation of cancellation. She also indicated that, seeing as how this had just happened, I should not see any charges on my credit card; and if I did then I should just call back and I would receive a refund.
I checked my email and I did receive 4 cancellation notice emails from VistaPrint that confirmed cancellation, but there was no information as to membership number or other information. "Lori H VistaPrint" was the name on the bottom of each of those 4 emails.
So, I shall see. I am going to monitor my credit card everyday and call VistaPrint again if any charges (other what I am paying for my "free" business cards) appear on my CC. What a hassle!
Thanks again, ConsumerAffairs.com

(Sorry this is kind of long) I recently ordered 200 post cards from vista print, I havent received them yet but its only been a few days. I have heard that their products are good especially considering I only had to pay for shipping. I then googled their name because I was wondering where they shipped out of and I found this forum. So I did some extra research on my own and found out that they are based out of Bermuda and have an agreement where they follow some laws enforced by he U.S. and some Bermuda laws as well. Once I seen how many people were unknowingly charged I went and got there customer service number from their website and gave them a call.
I hit the #3 from the list of choices (vista rewards questions) it instantly routed me to a customer service rep that was really nice. Once she looked up all my info she asked what she could do for me I told her that I didnt want to be charged for any rewards programs and that I dont give permission for any charges other then the postcards I have ordered. She put me on hold for a few minutes and then informed me that every thing was taken care of and that I wasnt even enrolled in the program and that I wouldnt be charged. I asked her why some people get automatically enrolled and some dont she explained that all the offers and advertisers they throw at you while your trying to check out have a disclaimer that automatically enrolls you (this is why they can afford to give stuff away for free). In my case I didnt chose to affiliate with any offer or ad so I wasnt enrolled.
Overall everything has gone ok but we will see shortly. My best advise is if you chose to use the company, which as of right now I do recommend, just get what you need and dont click any of the additional offers then a days or so after you place the order call the number hit #3 and talk to someone to make sure that your name isnt enrolled in the vista print rewards program and with everything you provide your address and payment info read the fine print and do some additional research it will really help out in the end

We placed an order for 193 business postcards to be mailed out from Vistaprint to our customers and we were also ordered 100 extra to come to us. The problem is that we received the 100 postcards w/o our company website. They offered to refund the money back on both cards but we would have to go back and re-order the 293 postcards over again. So basically they CANNOT do anything for us.
I had to go through 3 people and 2 supervisors only to get told that they cant do anything for us and it was all our faults. I have used Vistaprint before and I have yet to speak to someone who spoke plain clear english....yet I am the one who cant understand clearly this is a communication error.

On 5/30/08 we went on online to order a signature rubber stamp. We followed the directions to upload the signature and viewed the signature online. We then placed our order. During the checkout process, various items were continually and automatically added to our cart. We carefully removed them from the cart and finally placed the order.
The order was received 6/7/08 and I tried the stamp out only to find that there was no signature. I looked for a number to call on their website but couldn't find one. Luckily, there was a customer service phone number on the mailing label. She looked at our order and insisted that the signature was not properly uploaded. I told her that we had been able to view it and questioned why they didn't contact us if they had problems viewing a signature.
I asked to speak with her supervisor. She then came back a few minutes later and told me that she was able to access the signature (wow, a miracle!) and they would send the correct stamp out in 7 days. I asked for that to be in writing. She told me she couldn't do that but would give me a store credit for the cost of the item, not the shipping costs though.
Again I asked to speak with a supervisor. In a few minutes another woman, Simone, came on and said they would refund the entire amount, she would send me a confirmation email and I could verify the credit with my bank in 2-3 days. I then googled their name and came up with your website only to see all of the various complaints against them. I will definitely be on the lookout for the $14.95 charge for their reward program

On May 18, 2008, I requested in writing the removal of a Domain Name from a website. I regrettably have gone back and forth with Lynette Internet Product & Support Specialist VistaPrint Web Services. VistaPrint.com had removed the domain name at my request, but later on re-added the domain name and sent me an email to recharge me. I called VistaPrint and the matter was cleared up and the domain name was removed. Since then the domain name has appeared again.
Vistaprint has refused to delete the domain name and Lynette and I have been going back and forth with approximately 10 emails between us, instead of just correcting their mistakes. Lynette has been informed that I was filing a report against VistaPrint, but she didn't care. I am not asking for any money refunded. I am simply asking them to delete the domain name. This is a company who harass their customers and they go through great lengths to prove themselves right instead of pleasing their customers. I have maintained this website for almost two years and have 3 other websites from VistaPrint.
Now, I am canceling all of my websites due to this small request. This company must be stopped from abusing their customers right. I have had other problems I am just to exhausted from discussing right now. The refusal to delete the domain has violated the privacy of the rights of the new domain name and has caused a lot of unnecessary time and emotional stress to me who is responsible for this domain.

Of course I was never notified my order had been cancelled.
So I told them to put the order through because I needed the invitations immediately because it was already getting late to send them. They said the best they could do was 3 day shipping. They wanted to charge me for 3 day shipping which was an extra $30 and I told them that was unfair since I had been essentially waiting over a month. I've read several of the most recent (2008) complaints on this Consumer Report website regarding Vistaprint's customer service and mystery charges. And though I always back up the "customer is always right" courtesy, in this case it is not completely the case. I just ordered from Vistaprint for my small business: Business Cards, Large Business Magnets, & Sticky Note Pads - much at very low discounted prices if not FREE. I reviewed all my products to order, my shipping & billing address, shipping time-frame, payment form, AND reviewed the summary before accepting & officially submitting my order to run the payment on my debit card. Everything was 100% on the up & up!
After checkout I received a confirmation page that displayed ALL the same products, quantities, styles, & prices I previously agreed to pay for. This page also included a notice that I had been offered a bonus of $10.00 cash back. To obtain this bonus, I must fill out the very brief survey that was located on the right of the page & click on the 'yes' button to submit. In doing so I was also saying yes to or submitting my authorization to begin a 30 free trial for the Vista rewards program. I could've closed the window as my order was complete & never moved forward in attempts to earn that $10.00 bonus cash back. I chose to fill out the survey & click 'yes'.
If I didn't want to continue the rewards program @ any time I could cancel by calling 1-888-243-6185. If I canceled before the trial period ended, I'd never incur a charge there-after. But if I did not cancel before the free trial period ended, the card I used to pay for that current order would be subsequently charged the monthly Vista rewards membership fee of $14.95. And this recurring charge would continue up until the moment I chose to call & cancel. I called the above listed # & spoke with Julie, Cus. Svc. Rep. ID # **. She confirmed everything I read & also informed me of what I would physically have to do in order to obtain my $10.00 cash back & the form of payment I could expect to receive those funds thru.
All it takes is READING. There was a link at the top of the page where this '$10.00 Bonus' was 1st mentioned and (IF YOU CLICKED ON IT) would take you to the bottom of the page where all these details are specified. All it takes is READING. By clicking on that 'YES' button you've agreed to those terms detailed on the very same page or page linked within. I agree that they should refund the customers who obviously ignorantly agreed to these terms b/c I still believe the customer is always right. But it all can be prevented if you be more careful about what you do, fill out, read, accept, decline, submit, or order ONLINE!!! Their Vista Rewards Program is legal & explicit online as well. Just call the # I've enlisted in this report.
I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE WHO READ IT! TAKE CARE, BE CAREFUL, & BE BLESSED. I have benefited by saving over $75.00 on my order. And I will get my $10.00 cash back without ever incurring UNWANTED $14.95 monthly rewards fees. Thus saving $85.00 on a $110 order including shipping costs.

I had to eventually throw about 80% of them away because people were making faces when I would hand that card out. I finally tried another company that was suggested to me and the cards were better 10 fold! Seriously, try premiumcards.net. They cost about the same, but the quality is amazing. They only print business cards and postcards. This may be the reason for the quality.

Be careful and when you get to the page that says Your order is complete don't click on a button at the bottom of the page that offers you some $10 discount on your next order. There is a stipulation that goes with this extra offer. If you don't read it all you have nobody to blame but yourself. Here's the thing: I NEVER signed up for anything from VistaPrint. I never even visited their website. They must have gotten my info from some other site. They sent me a box of free business cards with a % off offer - which I never answered. I never asked for the free cards in the first place. They just showed up in my mail one day.
I am so ticked off. Not only am I mad at them, but I am mad at myself for not checking my bank statements every month. I could have avoided most of the loss if I had just checked my statements. Instead, I only noticed after I got 2 bank fees for overdrafts in my account.
