I believe this site is one of the biggest scams on the face of this planet. I joined in July and found nothing but garbage on the site. When I cancelled I thought that would have or should have stopped my billing. In going through my billing records I have found they have continually billed my account. When I asked if I "didn't cancel" then how come it won't let me log in, I got a bunch of ums.... So I can't get into my account, yet I didn't cancel it and they continued to take the $24.95 a month out of my account. I have read on ABC this site is a SCAM and other bad reviews. I only wish I followed more closely what they were doing. My fault I know but they wanted to hear nothing. I asked for a supervisor and she wouldn't get on. What type of company will a supervisor not get on with an irritated customer!! GIANT SCAM stay away!!!!!

While searching for a way to find someone's alternate email addresses I stumbled on this site. I signed up for a one month trial membership that was only about $7.00. When I checked my online bank statement I discovered I had been billed for an entire year and that the site has an automatic yearly renewal. I called customer service in order to have this corrected and was told that there is no way I can get my money back for the year. I will never use the site again and have basically paid $95 for nothing. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. It is very sneaky how it is extremely easy to accidentally push the wrong button and once you do, you are out the money. I can partially blame myself for not reading all the "policy" notes carefully... BUT....it should not be that easy to mess up with a reputable site. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Went to sign up for a one-month membership for $15.00. Next thing I know being charged $95.00. They tell you how to unsubscribe but the options are not available. Tell you to call support/customer service but no one ever answers just a recording. They say to call between 6am and 9pm, Monday thru Friday but still no live person. I have sent an email and received the same response. I want my money back. Someone please help. I cannot afford this. How can you lodge a complaint if no one answers the phone or just sends an email telling you to call support and there is no support.

I would not recommend this site to anyone or refer a friend as asked on the bottom of their pages. I would not wish this burden on anyone. I cannot get any help from the site as where they tell you to un-renew subscription. Went to settings, nothing there helps. Could not even delete account. Can only unsubscribe from emails and then it says it will take up to 10 days to do that.

It should definitely be illegal for a website to publish personal information of private people without their authorization, and even worse charge you to delete your name from their database. This website have my whole life information from people that are connected to me like family and friends, place I work, my current address and all past addresses. I have small kids and this bring risk to my family. I can't believe nothing is done about this. It is just so frustrating that this has not been stopped yet. Something needs to be done about this.

She attempted to sign up for one month to try the site, ended up clicking on a one year agreement for the site and a public record remover "service" to keep her own information off the web by accident with $210 in charges. She found nothing useful on the site, and tried to cancel two days later. MyLife refused to cooperate or reduce their charge. They are dishonest. Do not use them.

I emailed and then called the number I found on the site and eventually got the person to agree to as a "special customer courtesy" that the charge would be removed. This was after I said they were a rip off. I had no idea I was going to be charged 95.40 for a year, and that I was going to report them. They kept trying to get me to accept a shorter length of membership from 6 mos. to 3 mos. and then finally one month, and I kept complaining and threatening. They said it would take 3 to 7 days to remove it from my debit card. I said I would be watching. This all happened within an hour. They are terrible! Everyone needs to know about them. They also had no record of who I was searching for, after saying they had found them. Complete terrible rip off!

I did not sign up for MyLife. Instead, after doing a Google search of my name, it pulled up images from Wink.com, Mylife.com and other associated sites. I removed my images, submitted the information to Google, and unfortunately my images STILL show up. Total breach of privacy. In looking at my profile, totally incorrect information. Shows several names and various places where I've never lived. It shows my dad's name, my uncle, etc. Very disturbing. I have issues with a cyber stalker, so I decided to look at those who looked for my information. Unfortunately they want you to pay for it. What I didn't know was that they bill one year, and even if you cancel you cannot get your money back. So I'm out $119.

It's a total money maker for them and they know it. It's information that's probably free to them, does not cost them a dime to acquire, but yet they charge exorbitant fees. The other thing is that you have to CALL customer service to cancel your account. They want to charge $7.99 per phone call. I was very upset about this and refused to pay it. So what can I do to get my money back from them? Have it disputed on my credit card? What should I do?

I recently saw a bio about myself on My Life. It's pretty surprising since I don't even do Facebook. It was a bit upsetting, as it stated that my father was 65 years old and living in Garden Grove. He died in a hang gliding accident in 1975 when I was four years old. I have no idea where they got this erroneous information, or why my name appears on their website in the first place. It doesn't and shouldn't matter, but it has now caused me to embark on a series of red tape with attempting to obtain birth and death certificates. This has been a waste of time and energy that should be spent on moving forward rather than dwelling on the past. Life is a series of tests. I clearly failed this one since I already knew this was simply a false statement. The end result is that I am now closer to my faith in God and a belief that true evil does exist in this world. Aside from mundane bottom-feeding, this website has nothing of value to offer in my opinion. As for the description of "angry" for the one star, that's not accurate. Anger has nothing to do with it. I feel pity for this company. It's truly pathetic.

Not only do they publicly put a profile of you on Google, which includes your age, where you live and people you are related to, they track anyone who clicks on those profiles even unknowingly. I admit I Googled an ex just out of curiosity (who doesn't?) and the first thing that popped up was the mylife profile, so I clicked on it just to read what it said. Well, later on when I went to my own mylife profile, I saw that it lists Google searches so anyone that Googled you shows up on your mylife profile stats (even if they didn't search for you within the mylife database under Who's Searching for You, it’s also if you just do a Google search)! Not only does it say when you were Googled, it says from WHERE. This is a major invasion of privacy because had I known this, I would not have Googled him and definitely not have clicked on his profile. Even though it doesn't say my name, the fact that he can see what city the "searcher" Googled from will make it very easy for him to know it was me since he does not know anybody else in my small town. This is total BS that they do this without you even knowing and I would think is a major privacy violation. So now you can't even privately Google anyone! This is going to cause major problems for me.

Serious fraud at MyLife.com There is no free trial search. That's a teaser to entrap you into signing in with a credit card. Worse, when you sign in, they backdoor you into other more expensive services without your deliberate choosing or any transparency or full disclosure on the site. MyLife's entry pages are built to entrap. Not comfortable, I opened up my account profile to double check. Within minutes of signing up, there was no itemized disclosure of what I had signed up for or an option to cancel any or all of the subscription. Most questions/concerns and problems require phoning MyLife, which I did 10 minutes after the uncomfortable sign in. I was told by a very fast talking sales rep, "Sorry, there is nothing you can do about it" after informing me that my credit card had been billed a $96 charge I did not knowingly or deliberately sign up for, as well as the three month charge of $36.

Worse, if you don't firmly talk (it's an argument) to a sales rep, you will be automatically recharged for those services when they expire! He was reluctant to clarify that! MyLife takes the first prize as the most slippery, major website I have ever encountered. I don't know how they get away with that in California. MyLife is based in Los Angeles.

That's all the rep kept saying. I said I only came on the site two weeks ago and they're talking about what happens in 11.5 months from now? Experian, come on. Don't you make enough money to not sell out information to crap sites like Mylife.com and bottom feed once a month for 6 extra bucks? Shame on you and the people who are selling bad or personal information to them to post on the World Wide Web. The public has a right to privacy and to not have low-rent companies like this posting people's personal data, whether it is correct or incorrect.

Shame on Mylife.com, Experian, and congress. Imagine if in their era, someone posted their information in a newspaper with their family's info, their addresses, everything and distributed it for profiteering against the public's will as Mylife does? Would anyone stand for that? Heck, no!

For reasons totally foreign to me, we are sitting here putting up with this, still. And all women certainly should be very, very leery of anyone letting this company continue to operate. I signed up with MyLife less than 45 minutes ago because I was searching for only one person who was a good friend of mine whom I have lost contact with. I signed up for the plan that was $7.95 a month. The reason I fell for it is that they had the correct information in regard to this friend before I entered my credit card information. I signed up and typed her name in, and nothing about her came up. There was no such person in their database. I searched several more times, and it still didn't render the results they first brought up. I immediately called the toll-free number, and after waiting several minutes on hold, I talked to a rep who told me they had already charged me for the entire year! When I advised her I just wanted to cancel my account, she then said she could only refund me for half the year and would have to charge me for 6 months and would not completely cancel the account. She gave me a confirmation number and that was it.

I was so surprised I wasn't sure what to do. So the more I thought about it, the more angry I got. I then called my credit card company (Chase), and she advised me to dispute the charge because I felt like they had misrepresented their service to me. So, I am waiting for the charge to go through before I can call the dispute team. This happened today, and only 2 hours have elapsed since this all began. How can they do this? I realized my mistake pretty quickly once I got on the website, and I feel that at the most they should have only charged me $7.95.

I believe I was stupid for falling for this, but the information they gave me before I completely signed up was accurate because they gave my friend's maiden name and her married name and her husband's name and their city of residence. So I truly believed they had this information. I am mad at myself but also at MyLife for not working with me on this. I was willing to concede that I signed up for $7.95 a month and could have lived with losing that, but $47.00 for using their "service" for all of ten minutes, which was not even what they represented to me to begin with. I will be disputing this amount they want to charge my credit card. Thank you for letting me file this. I hope something comes of this.

Guys, don't be fooled into these subscriptions! I see that a lot of people are getting suckered into 1-year subscriptions when they thought they were only going to be paying something like $6.95 for a month. The way that the site advertises the subscriptions are the monthly breakdowns of the cost. It does say that the subscription is paid in full, however it is advertised in a somewhat misleading way. If you think you can't get all of your money back for an accidental 1 year, 9 months, 6 or 3 months, heck even the 1 month, don't be fooled! They make it look like you are signing up only for one $6.95 payment. This is a scam, pure and simple. They aren't going to refund anything for me. I'm out of that money. I hope everyone here tells every person they know. This is not ethical business and innocent people are scammed. They present the payment options as if you are making one $6.95 payment. When you are confronted with the $83 and want out, they will tell you that you can stop the renewal for next year. False advertising, false presentation, fraud. Someone, please do something about this company! It's not even in the fine print. It looked like one payment of $6.95. And suddenly you're in for over $83 and they won't refund it.

I decided to Google my name and was horrified to find that MyLife.com had my name and residence, including links to my extended family members. The data included full names and city/state of residence. When I called MyLife.com (formerly Reunion.com) at the toll-free number provided on their website, they openly admitted to purchasing the relationship data from Facebook and intermingling it with public records data for residences. Sadly, it was true; in Facebook, I did indicate which "friends" were actually family members, such as mom, dad, siblings, cousins, etc. Since we each opted-in to such relationship data on Facebook and each have our security settings limited to "friends only", Facebook apparently sold this data. I would love to see a class-action lawsuit against Facebook, but it was likely overlooked in their fine print.

I immediately requested my information to be deleted from MyLife.com and they complied, despite it taking a week or so to completely disappear - not to mention how long it took before Google removed the info they retained/indexed from MyLife.com. I also informed my entire family and every one of them were completely angered by the unauthorized listings. Each person unchecked every relationship in Facebook and then called MyLife.com to request deletion of their profile. In my opinion, Facebook is not unlike Google; they want to know all about you, your likes, family, friends, hangouts, and then they sell it for a large profit. The digital age, in this regard, is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I received an email saying my ex-fiance searched for me recently. I went to mylife.com and found out to contact her back I would need to be a paid member. I signed up for the one month option for $20.95. The way it is worded no one would think its a recurring subscription because it doesn't say it is! All the other premium membership options are all recurring subscriptions and they clearly state that when I contacted my ex, which I haven't even talked to in almost a decade, she said she never tried to look me up.

Also, during this one month premium membership period, I received several emails saying that other people just looked me up at such and such a time today or or yesterday or whatever the cases were. I would log in to see who they were and every time the account didn't show anyone except for of course that one search result that got me to sign up in the first place. So they were sending me fake search results just to make my name look active.

When the month was over, I received a recurring charge of another $20.95 even though I chose the one month only option. Mylife.com is very shady and as soon as I talked to them they refused to refund me. I called up my bank and they are investigating the matter and hopefully I get my refund that way. I am happy though that there is a lawsuit underway I read against mylife.com for these very issues. I hope they are shut down.

I am not looking to 'reconnect' with anyone; I have no family and friends. I do not even have a Facebook page and do not own a cell phone. The only way they could have gotten my info is by contacting me under the guise of being an employer looking for an employee; taking advantage of my desperation to find work. The only correct info they appear to have is what is listed on my resume. If that's not fraud, then I don't know what that is. From what I've seen in terms of complaints from others, I am not the only one they've done this to. Why are they allowed to continue?

I signed up for MyLife.Com because I was told that it was a free site. I was searching for my friend's mother who has been missing for more than 10 years. After I signed up (free) in order to see who wanted to contact me or in order to send messages, it said that I had to pay for this service - $12.95 for a month. I decided I could afford that after looking at my bank, and I said that I would call back at the end of the month and cancel the service.

After I paid the $12.95 as a onetime fee for one month, I received an email that said I paid $107.00 for an annual subscription. This is not what I agreed to pay. I read everything closely when I buy things online, and I know this is not the option I chose. I called customer service right away, and spoke to "Kristen". I explained to her what happened. She said that they would credit my account for $94.50 and only charge me for the $12.95 and they would also "unselect" the auto renewal feature. They said it could take 7-10 days to get my money back.

I am a single mother of 3 kids, and I live week to week. I would have never even tried this site out if I knew it was going to steal my money the way it did. Now, I am facing over draft charges as my car payment is deducted from my account tomorrow, and I am short now. This is totally not fair to consumers and I am going to do what I have to do to try to help get this website shut down.

Even after I paid the subscription service, the site seems pointless. When you search for someone, they say that they need the approximate age and first and last name of the person, and when you enter it from that point forward, MyLife creates the person's profile as of that day and make it seem as if the profile has been there, even though you created it. Ridiculous! Even after I paid the "$12.95", even though it was really "$107.00", it then took me to another option to pay more!

This website is a scam, and I hope and pray that everyone reads this before they get suckered like I did. I have yet to get my money back, and I am going to dispute it with my bank if I don't get my money back in the next 24 hours.

He should be in prison like the criminal he is.

Was mislead in billing, I thought the services were $9.95 for one month, my credit card was billed for a full year. When I called for a refund, I was denied and offered a 3 month deal. I am concerned that I may continue to be billed as I have read many horror stories about MR. Jerry ** company. My money was taken, money I did not budget for, grocery money.

My profile is on mylife.com twice that I know of. The first is my maiden name Edith **, and the next is my name before I got divorced two years ago, Edith **. My name and profile maybe on there a third time but I am not sure. The big problem is I did not put it on there or join MyLife. I had a bitter divorce and have had all of my kids turned against me, so I am 99% sure it is either my ex or one of my five kids that did this.

And who knows what the heck they have put on there, who knows they might even be giving my social security number out. I have a right to know what they have been doing on there in my old names and I want it investigated and stopped. I can find any way to talk to anyone at MyLife but really, this could ruin mine. Any help or other you can do would be much appreciated. The marriage I got out of there was mental cruelty and at times physically abusive. I have since married the right man.

I am on MyLife.com, even though I've never subscribed and the information they have is inaccurate. There is no contact number provided so I can at least fix the inaccuracy. I resent this violation of my privacy.

Mylife.com has a commercial that it's free. I signed up with my credit card but says they don't use it. Then my credit card got charged over $100.00 twice.

I joined MyLife.com thinking that I was only paying $7.95 but the bill came to $201.00. What is up with this? I can't even get a phone number to call you back. I would like to talk to someone from MyLife.com. I can't afford this because I am on disability.

I found mylife.com had some private information on me. When I tried their opt-out procedure, they automatically create an account for me and started to request even my private information from me (e.g. copy of government issued ID and copy of current utility bill). This seems unnecessary at the least, to remove the information and potentially illegal.

They now have me listed as a user and may potentially try to bill me for services which I did not sign up for nor want.
