MyLife promotes slanderous info and then extorts money. They allow negative, unsubstantiated content or "reviews" on your page written by anonymous internet trolls, possibly even by MyLife employees themselves. And they also post intentionally misleading comments as well. For example, about 7 years ago, I had traffic ticket for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Wrong, yes, But not a criminal offense. What MyLife then did is posted that I have a "criminal record" in bold wording. In the small text, it says this "may include traffic tickets." I doubt anyone in the world cares that I got a ticket, especially since I'm not a bus driver.
But it's not a criminal offense. So you see what MyLife is doing. They're baiting me into buying a subscription so that I can correct the false or misleading info that they have allowed or maybe even created on my profile. And look how many other people have had the same happen to them. MyLife knows what they are doing. These abuse the power of the internet to scare people into paying them. Sigh. What a world we live in.

I signed up for membership in MyLife while to find the current status of an individual. First, the search required you to include the City and State of the individual. If I had that information I would not need MyLife!!! The data on myself had numerous outdated facts and errors. If they rely on public records, they certainly would not be so out-of-date. I think MyLife does as little as possible. There is a temptation, provided by MyLife to add Premium services in order to find information. This is a further waste of time and especially $$$. The Premium level provides almost no new information. And when you inadvertently click Premium, your credit card is immediately charged! After a phone call, MyLife was at least decent enough to remove this fee.

Was spending more time calling them to correct things. I thought I was supposed to be able to edit and change within my premium service. They said the changes had been made. When I checked none of the changes were ever made. Lots of bad information on me. Still could not edit or make changes they said I could, nor apparently could they from within their own system. Lots of excuses on why system was not making the changes. This morning they reset my account and suddenly I had someone else's profile information with my face picture. That was the last straw. Called and complained of bad product and customer service. Was told I would get a refund.

I started receiving emails from MyLife in 2015 telling me things like my information is exposed or some new background information has been added that may impact my life. I ignored them because in my line of work I have many background checks done, at least two or more per year, so I knew it was a scam when I read the emails. Today I received an email that made it sound like they’ve found liens, judgements and criminal records on me, which I knew not to be true, and I needed to log in to correct my information. These people are using scare tactics to get us to fork out money to them and they’re ruining our reputations!
After reading the reviews, I definitely didn’t attempt to go to the website thanks to all of the warnings from others. I’m currently looking for work and I’m concerned smaller companies, who don’t have the resources, will run background checks on potential employees and run across this site and believe this crap! What is being done about this company and why is it taking so long for them to finally be shut down?

MyLife.com publishes false information and innuendos about a person, then requires a 10 dollar fee to correct the false information that the company publishes, which is a form of extortion. I never signed up for their services, yet they publish false information about my person. The false information that the company publishes comes up in the first 3 of a Google search of your name. The false unsubstantiated innuendos that they have published about me has caused me undue stress, anxiety, and loss of employment.

Decided to look myself up on the internet and got the shock of my life when I visited my "MyLife" profile page and saw that I have a criminal record... little old me, who's never even gotten a ticket for jaywalking. All the other information in the report was inaccurate and just plain messed up, including listing a woman I've never even heard of as one of my relatives. I really didn't care about any of the inaccuracies all that much, except for the criminal record thing which could DESTROY my reputation, but the web page wouldn't even allow me to view whatever "records" they supposedly had.
I called their "customer support" number and the girl told me that she couldn't even see what these records were(!) and the only way I could find out what they supposedly had on me would be to subscribe to their "service" for $14.95 a month. I promptly told her that her company was going to get sued unless this slander was removed, and those must have been the magic words, because she said she would remove the information from my profile. She did even better than that, because when I went back to their webpage 5 minutes later, my entire profile was gone.
My parting advice for the customer support girl was to find another job because she's working for a bunch of criminals. This is obviously a scam, seeding people's profiles with damaging inaccuracies, and then extorting money from the victims to "correct" the record. I can see from all the other complaints here that I am not the only victim. These criminals really need to be shut down.

I think this company should be shut down. They try to con you into paying for membership to have fake info (that they put on there) about you removed! I wouldn't know if there are any fake criminal records etc about me on there because I refuse to pay them anything! What I mostly have an issue with is that they have my name and info on their website and are withholding it unless I pay them! I don't want my name in searches but they steal info and make it impossible to remove! Even if you do choose to pay they still won't let you fully remove everything, they just let you alter whats public. I believe your name, age, and city/state all have to remain public regardless. It should honestly be illegal. Looking into class action lawsuits immediately!

I just saw this site when my wife googled my name. Not only did they create a profile in my name which I've never been to this site in my life. But upon reviewing it, it's defamation of character to rate someone a number and then to say they have a criminal background & debt. Then to say they may or may not have committed sex crimes. Insinuating the worst. Then to list family members. With information out of whack! I'm pissed and filing a class action lawsuit and filing it in Clark County Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Regional Justice Center seeking damages in the millions. I was coerced to join in order to edit content about my own existence--which is a kicker in itself. The public profile says I have an arrest or criminal record! I was like, WHAT??? So they said I had to join in order to change it or to delete it. I did, it never got deleted. I am seriously thinking about suing them for libel. When I did join, and found out more information about my so called criminal activity, it included a docket number and the city it was attached to. Do you know what it was--A non-criminal traffic ticket from twenty years ago that I had to appear in traffic court for--because that's what you had to do before the internet came about!!!! I'm seriously thinking about suing them, so if you want to sue them too, perhaps we can try to do this together.

I logged onto the site investigating to see if they had accurate information on me (some was, some wasn't and it was fairly incomplete) and to springboard from that to joining to use them as an aid in my genealogy project. Evaluating them as of little use for my purposes is declined when I came to the billing page, so I have never been registered with them.
Nonetheless I received annoying messages from them and continue to do so. They do not appear to me as a site with decent ethical standards. The link to unsubscribe from their spam brings up a message saying the link doesn't work. I clicked on another link to unsubscribe and brought up a form I filled out, only to find they wanted $35 to unsubscribe to what I never subscribed for. After dropping out of that wild goose chase I got another message, from them not someone else, offering me a chance to unsubscribe at a discounted rate. I take that to mean their $35 dollar offer was to bleed as much as they can without honestly offering what they might accept. (I have not followed that link or waited to see if they will send yet another message with a lower still charge). Whether these people are dishonest or not I leave up to you but their standard of ethics doesn't set a very high bar in my opinion which includes them in the dishonest column.

Not just my account but others I have checked. I followed the instructions given by them to remove my information over 6 months ago. The information is still showing. This website should be taken down and the company fined for misleading the public and falsified records and misleading and damaging "may have a report or arrest records" when indeed that person does not have any such records. This is absolutely untrue. I have never even been arrested, and my last traffic offense was over 20 years ago. I have enjoyed a stellar career in law and am a past president of a county bar association.
When I finally clicked on their link to see what they had on my report, I learned that the claim of the criminal matter was the "hook" designed to get me to subscribe to their scam and pay them a monthly fee. I went on the website to check on the accuracy of my records on Friday, January 5, 2018. It’s quite a “busy and cluttered” website but I registered and was pleased to see the 7 day free access for all records and must notify them prior to the end of the 7 Days or I would be charged. A phone # was given to call and cancel “the subscription” - I took a screenshot and continued but before I could go in I had to choose what plan I wanted beyond the 7 Days. The most economical was the six month plan at $4.99 per month so I checked that box. Honestly if the site had the information I wanted and the research had been accurate I would have been satisfied to stay BUT it had nothing I could clear up or connect with. Every screen that came up and I’d scroll down did not have me listed so I’d click on “Not You?” and another screen and another screen over and over and over.
I decided that was way too much drama for me. And I called the number to cancel... They were closed for the weekend. I called first thing 8:00 Colorado time and spoke with some lady difficult to understand. She looked me up and said I had opted for the six months and no refunds. To make a long story short she finally agreed after putting me on hold they would charge me $4.99 and refund the rest from my credit card. I didn’t like it but said okay and asked for an email with that in writing. A few hours later I received the email thanking me and a refund is underway but don’t dispute this or it will mess up what she has in place. What she had put in place I would receive a refund of $42.45. I wrote her back and told her absolutely not that we didn’t agree to that and now I want my full refund - after all there was a 7 day trial period.
They did charge in pending status my credit card a $1.00 charge on January 5th and another credit card charge for $59.98 in January 5th. I called my credit card company immediately and told them I would file a dispute if the charges left pending status. I took a screenshot of my charges and this AM checked my credit card status and the charges were gone. Tonight I checked and the charges are back in.

I am not a vice president of anything. I am a grocery store clerk. (3) For my place of work they had down that I worked for a company called "Renal Solutions Inc" {Doesn't that mean Piss?}. (4) They had my second wife's name as being the same as it was when she had been married to her previous husband before me, and hadn't used for 4 years since their divorce {He died of a brain Aneurysm a year later after the divorce or 3 years before I married her, and she and I have been split up for about 7 years}. (5) They could not find any pictures of me on the internet, nor any social groups I was involved with {I'm all over the net}. (6) They couldn't find any licenses or certifications for me {U.S. Army Veteran and former medic, an E.M.T. in 2 different states, etc}. (7) They could not find any record of my education {I've Googled myself before, and gotten that}.
Ok so I correct all of that, give my actual Bio, and get off the site. Three times a day later for the next 3 days I kept getting messages from MyLife that there had been changes made by others to my background report, but when I went on the site all I saw was my own corrected background report. Ok then I go to take $20.00 out of my bank account and find out I have insufficient funds to get my own money. When I checked with the bank I discover that MyLife has taken out $119.40 dollars for an entire year. The bank gave me their number so I call them talking to a woman whose name begins with S though I couldn't understand what it was because her accent is so heavy. Sounded like she might have originally have come from India.
She said an Email was sent to me telling me about my membership, and how much was taken out. I looked, and sure enough in my Spam Folder on Gmail. It was there dated the day after I joined {I never look in the Spam Folder. Who does?}. Anyway I have the account closed telling them I only authorized $14.95 for a month to be taken out to which after much fudging they state they are refunding me $104.45 Confirmation number **, but that they are keeping the $14.95 I paid for a month stating that I will have Premium membership until January 7th. That was 3 days ago and they said it could take 5 or six days to get my refund back to my bank. So far it isn't there, but I keep checking.
Yesterday the 14th of December I had calmed down, and decided to use that membership 1 time since I had it anyway to check out this person I had been having trouble with. Everything was fine until the report was ready then it told me I have to have a years membership in order to get the report, and states otherwise I owe them $59.00.
I called them back to find out why they wanted more money when I had a premium membership for a month. It was the same woman who answered, and she was talking too fast with that accent for me to follow almost, but she said the reason it wanted me to pay again was because you are only allowed 1 background check a month without paying for a years subscription, and I already had that because I did one on myself. Nothing has been taken from the bank yet, but It would appear they waited a day last time so I will have to wait and see if they take out that $59.00 for me running that report even though I never finalized it or agreed to pay.

They also show four or five other women with the same name with criminal backgrounds that are not mine; I was not living in the area at the time and the pictures do not look like me at all. None of these things are true. I am a retired teacher with a Master's Degree and an excellent reputation. This site declared the only way I could "clean up" my record was to give them a credit card number and buy a monthly plan. How do they get away with this slander? It should be illegal! The only way I found out about Mylife.com was because someone set up an acct using an email address I haven't used in 10+ yrs, and a last name I haven't used in 12. 1 of the charges threw my checking into OD, so I went back through my past E-statements and found out they had been charging me $14.95 2x/mo for last 3 months. I then went to the website and tried to logon using all of my current emails with no luck. Then I did the "forgot password" to see if it would even recognize my emails, Which it did not! So, I called them. 1st time I called, the lady that answered seemed very sweet. Once I told her what I was calling for, she pretended she couldn't hear me.
So I called back, this time I spoke with another representative. She did her best to convince me that the best she could do was reverse the current charges. I told her I was going to call BBB and she was going to give me the Information I needed. Within 15 seconds, she had a much better offer of all 3 months of charges... 15 seconds! The first thing I see is my name along with a photo of someone I have never laid eyes on. Yet My Life is misrepresenting the photo as a picture of me. They have me living in a state that I've never been in, much less lived in. My phone number is not correct and I know none of the people that I am supposedly affiliated with. All of these items are patently false, but the level of this company's base character can especially be seen in their innuendo about possible arrest records, possible sexual registry member, etc.
This person could have arrest records, might be listed on a sexual registry! They make it sound like each person probably has loads of skeletons in their closet. Then the “reputation meter” - that's supposed to be beneficial how exactly? My daughter has two reviews on her page that are anonymous - if you don't insist on making reviews be contingent on providing real, verifiable information as to who's authoring the review, then it's nonsense. Over the course of about one month, I received 19 emails from Mylife that indicated or suggesting that I had a criminal record that needed my attention. I was dubious because I do not have criminal record, but at the same time concerned because maybe someone stole my identity and committed a crime. I called Mylife and they said that they could not supply the evidence until I paid them a fee. After some questioning, I was assured that I would receive a refund if the results did not conclude that I had a criminal record. After paying them a fee, it turned out that I had two traffic tickets. After calling the District courts of both cities in which they were located, I was thankfully reassured that the two tickets from more than 15 years prior were CIVIL TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, NOT CRIMINAL VIOLATIONS.
So I called Mylife to ask for a refund for misrepresenting the facts. The individual in which I spoke said that their company considered them to be criminal, although the United States government considered them to civil. We argued back and forth for sometime before he finally relented and processed me a refund. This company should be ashamed for sending out false fear-based statements.

I was lured in by an ad that kept popping up on my browser. I decided to give it a try and did a complete search on their site, then it led me to fill out my personal information and of course pay. I choose a 1 Time payment of $14.95 with my full intention of canceling before this thing renews, as I know I dont need it. I get a message to go to my email and confirm account and I do so. I get into the site and the entire report that had so many detail claims before I actually paid is now chipped down to a simple name, possible age, possible city location that is not even what the previous report says. The only options are to pay more to find out more when I was lead through every statement indicating I would have full access subscription for one month.
Tomorrow I will dispute the charge, and I am canceling my credit card, also with the hopes these fraudsters do not double charge me as I read reviews of so many doing. I will also make a BBB complaint, as I remember this is not the first time this has happened. Also when I was on the original signup I do not recall seeing Mylife.com as the company but instead another name as a search company. I am shocked how much personal info they have on me and they say click delete details you do not want out to the public. But then you have to pay to remove your own inaccurate or private info???

First of all I am not paying any fees. I am so sick of your company scamming money from innocent people and exposing people's personal life! That was the hook they needed to spark my interest. Had the site been able to live up to the hype, I would have remained a customer.
About 95% of their info was wrong. My birth date, current address, and phone numbers - all incorrect. People, places, and names mentioned who had nothing whats-so-ever to do with me. Again, as someone else mentioned, no way to correct their mistakes. If you clicked on the "remove" link, it prompts you to give current information. No thank you!! I like that you really know nothing about me, nor will anyone looking me up on your site! I will outline the things I saw within my first 10 minutes of going through your interface that actually shows that what you all have done not only to me but thousands of other hopefully customers is fraudulent and detrimental to our own personal identities. What kind of Identity Protection company does not have 24/7 365 support when trying to call on an urgent matter? Monday through Friday business hours and Pacific time? Really?
First, your marketing strategy is psychologically intended to make a person feel less secure about their own PII than it really is. I know this because of your scrolling "testimonials" from "current customers" stating that MyLife.com has benefited them for a security, professional and even relationship standpoint. This occurred on the right side of my screen while the page "loaded" stating how it was pulling all of my publicly exposed information from hundreds of thousands of sources. The funny thing was, I was unable to be shown any of that information that someone had apparently looked up about me once "pulled together" (apparently the person looking me up was a 49 yr old woman from Oak Lawn, IL). In order to actually see this information that was exposed causing my PII to be at such tremendous risk, I had to sign up and pay.
Second, to this point of paying, you FALSELY ADVERTISED and stated on the initial page when I pulled up my own name to proceed by clicking on the "Free Search" icon. Upon seeing the word free, which, I don't think anyone has to define what that means, I clicked that and continued on. Once the above first paragraph sequence on the screen was completed, I was then prompted by the payment screen. The options stated the best was an Annual Plan with a monthly fee of $9.99, apposed to the other option which was of course priced much higher. Again, another psychological marketing tactic gearing any user to just accept the fee if this is such a risk to my PII and they want to actually become a customer.
NOW, this is where you really try and scam every potential customer (I have already read the consumer affairs reviews so I know how they feel). After about, I would say, 25-30 seconds, maybe 45 initially, the screen is automatically re-loaded and brought another screen that begins a countdown from 5 minutes for another "last time offer" payment option. I cannot remember the exact verbiage, but it was to the effect of, "We will offer a trial period for this service for just $1!" I was actually perplexed, as I did not know if I had hit a wrong key to move to another page.
I did not know the underlying details how long the $1 trial period would go for, so begin entering my credit card information on that screen instead of the first. But after taking a moment and re-reading the verbiage on that page, I decided to click back to the former screen and choose the $9.99 a month option because, hey, your gimmick worked, and got me thinking that this would be a good idea to protect myself, and what is 10 bucks a month to do so. Upon getting back to that initial payment screen I began fully entering my credit card number. Not even 15 seconds passed this time before the page AGAIN re-loaded to the 5 minute countdown screen.
After reading customers reviews, it makes perfect sense. That is if you are trying to rip someone off. Once the person is actually given time to enter their CC information and we click the purchase button, that $1 trial period for 7 days and then supposedly will be charged about "$45 over 4 months for the length of your subscription" for the annual cost. That in itself is another psychological play on words to get some people to think that they will not be charged the full amount, it will be spread out over time. The same thing happened with me I will admit, I was thinking I would probably get charged $9.99 per month for a year.
That was until after I had pressed the submit button for payment and realized that your fine print of "You may cancel your subscription at any time" actually meant I was going to get charged the full amount on the spot for the whole year, just at a RATE of $9.99 a month. The people who chose the $1 trial period option had the same thing happen, their cards were charged the same day for the full annual amount. Finally, I know that any webpage interface involving financial transactions must be secured, and the easy way for a person to tell is if your browser URL states https:// instead of http://. I really hope that your Norton and McAfee "secured" page keeps my credit card information secured, because I am not 100% certain it showed it there, because I know for a fact it doesn't in your interface where we are actually dealing with our livelihood.
I have only touched on the money aspect so far. Needless to say, within the first minute of purchasing this service, I was already a disappointed customer from your overall scheme to get my money. Guess what, it worked. Moving on, money aside, this is the more serious offense. So again, going to take this piece by piece from how I was brought to the next interface, and what I witnessed. I was brought to the manage your risk section (it was something along those lines) where your Overall PII Data Risk Meter stated that I was as High of a Risk to identity theft as possible, citing 5 different online websites out of 8 scanned could be selling/sharing information to anyone who was looking. Now, following the prompts, here, we are supposed to clean up our records from those by submitting whatever was out there belonging to me as my personal information to be removed from the sites individually.
Each site varied from taking either between 3-5 to 4-6 weeks to apparently process these removals, which I now wonder is something that you all put yourselves in order for customers to stay with you longer so they can verify the data is removed. But in looking at the information that these websites apparently had for me, it was nothing but my name. No other information was there for me to ask to remove. The only other thing that was needed to be cleared up, was any records that were not me. An example, the first company had my name as Brendan **, and the second row for the same company had a Brendan W **. I went to click the "Not Me" button for that data row, and then was prompted for both my current address, and my phone number in order to proceed.
I HAD TO SUPPLY MY OWN INFORMATION TO GO FURTHER WITH THE RISK MANAGEMENT PROCESS! This was already a major red flag to me, but figured I could edit it later, so I put in the information, and was able to then remove the random Brendan **'s that weren't my age or had random locations/phone numbers/family members associated with them to clean that up.
After that, I was left with only rows of data that had my name and age for each of the 5 online companies, and the only reason they even apparently had this information was because I MYSELF GAVE IT TO YOU TO START WITH TO LOOK ME UP! After completing this and moving my risk level from extremely high to medium level, the prompts then brought me to the "Control your Information that is out there" section (something to that effect). My main overview section, which was the first of about 10 different sections of PII, now had my name, age, address, phone number and email address. Every one of those things I supplied throughout to get to that point.
NO OTHER SECTION HAD ANY, AND I MEAN ANY INFORMATION ABOUT ME SHOWING AT ALL! Each underlying section, such as background history, educational history, even birth date itself were EMPTY! The only piece of information that was pre-supplied by you all at MyLife, after apparently pulling from thousands if not hundreds of thousands sources as it was stated in your loading windows was that one 49 year old woman from Oak Lawn, IL had looked up or attempted to look up information on me.
After looking around the website and gathering my bearings for about 2-3 minutes, I realized that while you are stating as one of your advertising points that the purpose of signing up and controlling your information out there about you is to market yourself for whomever is interested, you are in fact having us, the customer, either pull up ourselves or supply information that we do not want to be out there as part of our "Public MyLife Profile". At this point of being fully aware of what is happening, on the overview section of my public profile, I clicked to change and delete my current information I had given. Those 5 data points of Name, Age, Email, Address and Zip Code are really what I would deem as the essential data points for anyone trying to steal an identity.
I am now at the screen to make my changes and delete everything. To top things off, upon glancing around my screen, I noticed now that THE URL WAS NO LONGER SECURED! The most valuable part of my well being was now on the internet, unsecured, after I had just paid $120 for you to help me protect it. After deleting those data points and clicking save, I was told some weird prompt I cannot remember which went away but another came and stated I must keep my name there, so I did. After clicking the save button for the third time, I was then brought back to Risk Meter section.
I then clicked Overview to see my public page, and EVERYTHING I HAD JUST DELETED ABOUT MYSELF REMAINED! I went through this exercise at least 3 more times, and those pieces of information are there, they cannot be removed by me. I go to call the support number, and when I thought it couldn't get any worse of a situation, your support office hours are Monday-Friday. I then deleted my account and thus subscription, all within about the first 20 minutes, along with working over some cash.
I read your privacy policy and user guideline prior to handing you my money, so you and I both know everything I have stated is logged, at least according to that documentation it should be. I will be speaking with my family to discuss further legal action, and I ask once again, that you do what is required to protect the personally identifiable information of mine that I gave to you. I woke up this Sunday hoping to protect myself, and after what has transpired, I certainly feel quite the opposite.

If a bunch of people call the AG's office in their state chances are this company will be investigated. It's obnoxious and info is old. They have me living at an old address in a completely different state. So if you pay them you're not even paying for accurate information. Please do not give this company any of your money because they will not return it. I hope after people read this review those of you who are receiving harassing emails and no returns on your money will make a complaint with AG's office in the state you live in. I had checked out this site back around 2009 or so, after being told by a family member you could meet people on it. I had created an account, but only a free trial (as I remember)...I didn't pay for anything. After being mistaken about what they actually offer, I let the free trial run out. They continued to send me emails, but not very many. In the last few years I've been getting harassing emails from them every single day, bleating about how my online reputation (gasp) could be compromised, how certain people are looking up info on me, and the latest: "You may have a new written review about you." Oh, so I "may"? And that's a good reason why I should sign up and give them my money?
For a few years now, one of the people whom they claim is "searching" for me is a woman associated with my ex-husband (actually a girlfriend of one of his old friends). I have no idea why she'd be searching for me. I think this is all baloney. They look to see whom you've had any business/familial/etc. relationships with and claim that person is looking for you or writing a review about you. I think they're very dishonest and I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I'm unsubscribing from their emails and hope it won't lead to more annoyance.

The next time I logged on was to view a comment a friend told me about. I contacted mylife.com customer service and was told I could sign up and pay their monthly subscription fee to protect me from these posts. I would have access to hide or delete comments. This was a false statement that was made on my account, the comment was "K. ** likes to sleep with married men." I'm sorry but I find this disgusting and want it removed.
It's been over a month and still nothing. Again I've contacted customer service but I'm convinced this is one of their ploys to sell subscriptions and make money. Otherwise, why wouldn't they remove it? I'm not asking for any public records to be removed. Or any of my past history including address, employment or any other public information. They didn't have my correct phone number or anything that would hurt my reputation. The review that was on there was within the company. I went into my bank account and they had already deducted $197.40 from my account! I called them within 30 minutes of the beginning of this nightmare and said I would have to upgrade to receive that information that was bad.
I told them that it was a scam and I wanted my money back. They told me very rudely that they couldn't do that, but they could refund $147.40. They told me I would received it within 5 to 7 business days. I waited and no refund. Called again. This time they couldn't find my records because I had cancelled. However, MyLife went over the line when the 'owner' (bot) did a personal review of me, even though he knows nothing about me. MyLife mines this information, shares it and then threatens people if they want to manage it. While there is little I should expect to manage public sites, it's information they generate about me - not created by me - that is offensive. I've read the other reviews and agree with others that MYLIfe tries to scare you into paying money. What I would like to add to this is that if you ever used this company to try to track down someone... maybe for a reunion or maybe you looked them up ONCE because you were curious where they ended up living years after you knew them.... I feel that they send THEM emails forever after telling them that you are looking for them, and it may look like you are a stalker. I get emails that so-and-so is searching for me, when I know they looked me up ONCE and I keep getting notices that make them sound like they are stalking me, so I fear that anyone I ever looked up (just to see where they ended up living) is going to get notices periodically that I am searching for them. It is so creepy and I also don't want to creep out others.
I called customer service to say I no longer want an account and don't want to hear about anyone else or have them get notices that I am searching for them, which I suspect is happening since it's happening to me from other people. The guy on the phone just tried to pressure me to give him my credit card number and was talking about all the information about me online that wasn't even what I was asking about.... He never listened to me or addressed my concerns. Just kept pressuring me to sign up to get info about me offline. I feel so badly for people who get notices that "Someone in White Plains is searching for them." They can figure out is me from the city. It feels creepy and worse is that they are making people I don't want to bother be creeped out by me.

I noticed 3 charges for $19.95 had gone through within the last three months in my bank account for a membership that I didn't authorize. I called MyLife & come to find out, it takes the click of ONE button to authorize a monthly membership charge. I found out that when you click that button, "for security purposes", they assign you a random username that you have to login with in order to access your account and it's features, but actually fail to even mention this vital info during sign-up. This username *is* accessible through your general page profile account settings though and GET THIS - the default generated password for that username login? PASSWORD. So, essentially, since the username's accessible via a regular login and the password is password, it's the most insecure login ever.
They tried to give me a hard time, repeatedly refusing to refund the past three months. I asked to speak with a supervisor numerous times, despite the guy trying to distract me and avoid the request by offering to "submit my feedback". So, I threatened a Better Business Bureau complaint, kept at it and FINALLY, he "requested a supervisor" for me to speak to.
While sparring away with him, I hopped on the BBB site and searched MyLife, as I noticed they didn't have a BBB certification logo on their site. What do you know, they recently settled in a lawsuit and had their certification revoked because of this EXACT thing! Two minutes later the rep comes on the phone and tells me he got authorization to refund me the past three months. Note, this was the rep, not a supervisor. There is a website with my full name, complete address and age. When I click on the link to remove it, it will not allow me. I tried to email the company and the email will not go through. I tried calling and the phone disconnects. I would like for my personal information to be taken down that is very dangerous.

MyLife.com posts private information in a public profile and does not allow you to suppress, delete, or opt out of their disingenuous "service" without first paying them to become a premium member. I agree there should be a class action suit. This is just plain wrong. They are essentially holding your private information hostage and coercing you into paying them to stop providing you with their "service".

My "public profile" is an address in NJ where I did consulting work one day a week for 20 years. I left over a year ago because the owner is a felon. I have lived in Manhattan over 25 years and never gave them that address in NJ - they must have lifted it off the web. I am a physician and it hurts my reputation to have my name associated with a criminal who will probably be arrested by the end of the year. MyLife will not change the address unless I pay them. I refused. Would love to join class action suit.

Nowhere ever should any company be legally allowed to force customers into paying to remove their OWN personal Information from public viewing! Also, I never gave them permission to post my DOB and write the little ditty as such. They also literally trick you into believing you should be able to just nicely Delete your account (as should be) by clicking on the "delete account" area! Nope, it creates a strange error - Grrr! I'm madder than a wet hornet over this!

My wife told me that when she googled my email, mylife.Com (among other things) came up with all sorts of personal information. Have no idea how this happened but when I try to sign in to get my info deleted, they say they will send me a password but never do. Very frustrating to say the least.

I found this on the BBB website... I was just about to sign up for this but even a little scratching the surface investigation and I found this: Social media website MyLife.com has agreed to a court judgment to pay $800,000 in penalties, plus $250,000 in refunds to customers over complaints regarding false advertising and unauthorized credit card charges. The case grew out of a joint investigation by the Santa Monica City Attorney's Office and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Investigators found that MyLife was tricking consumers into giving the company their personal identifying information, and later their money, through false and misleading ads.
The tactics included: Getting consumers to give their personal information, by promising that they would learn who was searching for them, for free. In fact, consumers had to pay for that service, using blurred photos to look like they were supposed to be actual people who were searching for the consumer, when they were not, advertising a low monthly rate, then charging consumers' credit cards for a full year's membership, and re-charging consumers' credit cards automatically, each year, without disclosing that they would do so - and without getting consumer's' affirmative consent as required by law.
Under the permanent court injunction, MyLife is prohibited from: Charging consumers' credit cards under an automatic renewal, without first giving clear notice and getting explicit consent from the consumer, promising any free service if consumers must pay money to get it; Ignoring a consumer's request to cancel his or her membership, showing photos of people to get consumers to sign up, unless the photos actually depict the people being referred to; and taking payment for a membership longer than one month, unless all terms of the deal are clearly and conspicuously displayed in close proximity to the payment button.
The case is believed to be the first major prosecution of an online business for violating California's new automatic-renewal law that states all businesses are required to get explicit consent from consumers before automatically renewing their credit card payments. The terms of any auto-renew agreement must also be clearly and prominently stated.

I have been receiving daily emails from Mylife.com telling me there are threats to my online reputation and identity. So, I started googling reviews when I ran across this site and saw all the complaints regarding Mylife.com. I called Consumer Affairs (consumer.ga.gov) and they have an article you can read on their site, second box down labeled "Consumer Topics A-Z." Click that, then click on "E" and the article is "EMail Spam."
Secondly, I telephoned the Federal Trade Commission, FTC 877-382-4357 and filed a complaint. I encourage everyone to file a complaint with the FTC as this is the only way to get them to INVESTIGATE THIS COMPANY. Furthermore, Consumer Affairs said to send them a certified letter and ask them to stop sending emails and if they don't this could be construed as harassment. I noticed an address at the bottom of the Mylife.com email that I received as 914 Westwood Blvd #517 Los Angeles, CA 90024-2905. Good luck!

I keep receiving "alerts" of people viewing my profile. For example on Dex Knows or other sites... and the ONLY way to remove it, of course, is to pay this site and wait. You can do it on your own, without them if you want to! Have unsubscribed again!

MyLife publishes personal info on you on the web and charges you to remove it. I have searched myself online and NEVER have I found the private info they show and their profile came up as first in my most recent search. I NEVER signed up for this service, to remove personal info you have to PAY them. I deleted my account but it is still coming up, not sure how long this will take. A TOTAL SCAM, MyLife should be ashamed of themselves.

All of a sudden MyLife.com started sending me emails about my personal information. It is a scam. Info that you are sent many times is either inaccurate or for someone else. Don't know how they got my contact info. I know they make a lot of hay scamming people. It's a good example of how you're a target because you can't afford to purchase the wheels of justice to put a permanent stop to their practices. I know others who they're scamming on also. Do yourself a favor and delete everything they send to you.

Your company wants to charge people to opt out. Our current Privacy Laws protect us from this type of issue. I need my information removed - it is erroneous and I will be subject to identity theft. I am emailing your customer service department and hope to have the matter resolved soon or I will send Twitter, Facebook and other social media websites information on how you do not have free privacy opt out. It is unethical.

I'm getting bombarded with emails from this company stating there has been a 15% increase in my identity theft level, and that my private info is at risk. When I viewed this without opening the email completely it shows my full name, age, email address & home address!! It says that my identity theft risk has increased and that I can view & remove MY information from their site?? I've been reluctant to open any of their emails partly because it just didn't sound right... But I'm now quite worried about my personal info. These emails came right into my inbox & were not caught by spam. I'd like to find a contact # to call & find out what other kind of information they have about me & demand it be cleared. When I googled MyLife I found this website and I'm glad I did but I don't know what I can do from here.
