More than 600,000 Hondas and Acuras recalled

The vehicles' fuel pumps may fail

American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 628,124 model year 2019-2020 Acura MDXs, MDX Sport Hybrids, RDXs, TLXs, Honda Accords, Civic Hatchbacks, Insights, model year 2019 Acura ILXs, Honda Accord Hybrids, Civic Coupes, Civic Coupe Si's, Civic Sedans, Civic Sedan Si's, Civic Type Rs, Fit, HR-Vs, Odysseys, Passports, Pilots & Ridgelines, and model year 2018-2019 CR-Vs.

The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Fuel pump failure while the vehicle is being driven can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

What to do

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin May 18, 2021.
