Don’t turn on the lights and don’t answer the door! Because for the next week, every streaming service you click on your remote is likely to push all the spooky, scary stuff they’ve got in their library your way.
If you’re looking to be frightened out of your wits, streaming data collector Reelgood has just released a study to lay out what service has the best stuff, the most stuff, and the hottest stuff.
If the most is good enough, then Reelgood’s analysts say all you need to do is plop yourself down in front of Prime Video. Added up, Prime leaves its competitors in the graveyard, offering up 1,066 horror movies and TV shows.
However, Reelgood also gave props to AMC+ (“Hellraiser” and “Halloween”) and Peacock (“Scream” and “Chucky”) for their horror movie library sizes and Netflix (“The Fall of the House of Usher” and “The Haunting of Hill House”) and Hulu (“They Come Knocking” and “The Lodge”) for the number of scary TV shows they offer.
If quality is your preference, then it’s AMC+. Reelgood analysts counted 196 horror movies that ReelGood rates as “quality” or “high quality” – or as Thrillist said, “Pretty much everything a horror fan could want.”
Who’s got the most and best horror movies?

And what's the best?
Reelgood's analysts also went on a ride through the haunted forest of horror streaming to find out what the most popular horror movies are so far in 2023. Here's their chart:
Don’t want to pay to be scared?
If you’re looking to freeload your fright, don’t forget you can go the “FAST” route – “free ad-supported television”.
For example, TubiTV is loaded with the “SAW” franchise films, “House at the End of the Street,” and “I Spit on Your Grave.” And Pluto, another freebie, is alive with “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “The Wicker Man,” and Stephen King’s “Sleepwalkers.”
