Customers can order one of two test kits and receive it the same day

DoorDash has announced that it is now delivering COVID-19 testing kits through new partnerships with Vault Health and EverlyWell.

Starting today, consumers in the 12 markets where DoorDash has DashMart locations can place an order for a COVID-19 test directly on the DoorDash app and get it the same day.

Two kits are available: Vault Health’s saliva test kit, which is done with supervision from someone from the company offering you guidance over Zoom, and Everlywell’s “test home collection kit DTC,” which involves the use of a nasal swab. Both tests offer results within 24 to 48 hours.

“Vault Health’s test kit sells for $119 and Everlywell’s test kit sells for $109; both may be eligible for reimbursement with healthcare insurance,” the company said in its announcement.

The tests are now available to customers in Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, and Phoenix, with “more cities rolling out in the coming months,” DoorDash said.

“As many as 30 percent of people skip doctor’s appointments because they don’t have a reliable way of getting there,” Dr. Marisa Cruz, Head of Clinical Affairs at EverlyWell and former Senior Medical Advisor for Digital Health at the FDA, said in a statement.

“The fact that you can now get a kit delivered to your door in hours, quickly collect a sample and drop your kit in the mail, and then receive an accurate COVID-19 diagnosis and speak to a physician about next steps in as little as 24 hours later is a significant step forward for public health.”

LabCorp also offers to deliver COVID-19 tests through a partnership with FedEx. The company says consumers who order a test can expect to receive it within two days. DoorDash claims the average delivery will take less than an hour.
