The driver's airbag may not deploy

Chrysler is recalling certain 38,164 of the following:

  • Model year 2023-2024 Ram 1500s, Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Wagoneers, Jeep Grand Wagoneers, Chrysler Pacificas, Ram 3500s, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500s, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, and
  • Model year 2023 Jeep Gladiators, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee Ls, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs, and Chrysler Voyagers.

The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's airbag from deploying in a crash.

An airbag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.

What to do

Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module -- as necessary free of charge.

Notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners by May 3, 2024.

Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at (800) 853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are 14B, 33B, 34B, 35B, 36B.
