Movers who care? How about movers who don't care? Learn from my mistake and seek other movers. I hired this Two Men and a Truck and they completely ruined a $2500 TV, the glass TV stand, and also damaged a $280 rower. I have photos showing this damage INSIDE THEIR TRUCK. I filed claims with them and they say they will give me $25 for the $2500 TV. First of all, insurance was never explained or offered to me. Next, no insurance form stipulations should cover up negligence and incompetence of the movers.

THEY strapped the TV to a wall of the truck, the strap came loose while they were driving and it broke the TV. Secondly, the TV had a glass base and they had the TV sitting on the hard wood floor of the truck. Of course glass will break when sitting on hard wood in a moving vehicle! Thirdly, my photos show they had plenty of padding nearby they opted to not use. This was complete negligence and incompetence, not an understandable moving mistake.

The insurance nonsense (60 cents a pound?) should not cover up negligence. No rational, fair person would believe $25 is sufficient compensation for a $2500 TV. The two movers are the only people who have touched the TV! Two Men and a Truck does NOT care about customers. I am proof. Potential future customers, learn from my bad choice.

I had 3 men come out and they were very slow and lazy. In fact one of my mirrors is missing. Also they broke my door lock taking door off and took 40 minutes to fix. I was quoted for 2 men and instead they sent 3 and they are up time and I was charged double and some. One of the men walked on my dirt I have planted to grow grass, put a small dent in home with dresser. All around awful experience. I moved most the boxes myself and when I call to speak to manager nobody calls me back. Very upset. I would not recommend.

Contacted them about a move, and they had space available the day I needed. Was charged $100 deposit to hold the spot. No problem so far. THOUGHT the deposit would be applied to the move. Company employee asked how much needed to be moved, pick up and drop off locations, and total value of things being moved (about $400). I was moving from one room in a nursing home to an apartment. There was no furniture to move....just a rolling closet, a few Rubbermaid totes and boxes. It was a total of two flat-bed dollies to be moved. Movers came for payment while I was in the office signing papers. $532.75!!!!

With deposit, the move came to $632.75!!! To add insult to injury, the rolling closet was upside down and completely destroyed. Numerous phone calls revealed this company holds many meetings! Promises of "Someone will get back to you" seldom materialized. Re: the charges, their mantra is "That's our policy." Locations are only about 10 minutes apart, but they charge a minimum of 60 minutes travel time. Never did get any answers re: why the deposit wasn't applied to the move, or any response re: the ruined closet.

Thought this was going to be a great experience for us however Two men and a truck fell short. Initially spoke to Shannon in customer service for the Lebanon NJ location. She was extremely friendly and made the process seem very seamless. When the crew arrived on July 12 the head person was stressed and said they could not move our items into storage in the allotted time. He was annoyed. He called for another person to come and another guy came and helped. My husband also helped. It became 4 men and a truck. If not for my husband helping it would not have been done in “time”. Not sure why this was not more accurately assessed. Maybe have more time allotted?

In the transfer of items a piece was damaged. The legs on a mirror jewelry stand. Legs were not protected therefore splintered and broke off. Given $50 claim for an item that was $150 plus paid for blanket use of over $20 and needed to dispose of item for another $50. Very unsatisfactory experience. Was going to use service to transfer items in storage to Florida once we find a place but not after this experience. Sorry to say I cannot recommend this company. Wanted the experience to be one I could happily recommend but unfortunately it isn’t the case. Do not recommend.

Hired Two Men and a Truck and deeply regret it. They caused over $1,000 in damage to my home and furniture—walls, floors, and valuable items were scratched or broken. When I reported it, they were unresponsive and still tried to charge me $550. I expected professionalism, but instead got carelessness and zero accountability. Would not recommend.

My brothers, sister and I hired Two Men and a Truck to move our elderly parents and we were quoted $1900. The movers did not pack the truck properly making it so that there was not enough room for any of the kitchen items to be moved. They took shelves that were easily dismantlable and put them standing in the middle of the truck. When they arrived at the new location they ended up charging our credit card for $1952 even though they only did 75% of the work. When I called to complain I was told that they could have charged us up to $2300 and I should basically be happy that they came in under the original quote. He did discount our bill by $50 but that really doesn't make any of us feel better since we still had to go and move all of the additional items by ourselves. My family and I will never use Two Men and a Truck again, which sucks for them since a few of us have moves planned.

My moving experience on June 28, 2025, was profoundly disappointing. The three-hour quote for moving a small number of items was initially excessive, yet the actual service was plagued by incompetence. Despite explicit discussions with customer service regarding TV removal from wall mounts, the crew declined to perform this service, citing lack of knowledge. This necessitated my injured husband's involvement to complete tasks we had paid for. Additionally, significant time was lost due to the crew's inability to efficiently disassemble furniture. My husband had to guide the movers on bed disassembly, essentially wasting valuable time.

Further issues arose when they (Kenneth C.) demanded an additional waiver for TV boxes, prompting my husband to transport the TVs himself. Throughout the move, one mover (Kenneth C.) was frequently absent and seen vaping, while the others struggled. The overall lack of professionalism and efficiency was unacceptable. Most concerning, a mattress was damaged during the move, and the subsequent damage report was misleadingly documented as "prior to move damage," despite an acknowledgement of responsibility from the mover Kenneth C.

During the process, I was presented with an electronic document to sign. I signed this document under duress, believing it to be a reimbursement claim, only to discover later it was a prior damage waiver in addition to agreeing I was satisfied with all services rendered. This experience was far from professional and extremely unethical.

Following a written complaint and a request to speak with the owner, I was contacted by Operations Manager Dale K. on July 2, 2025. During our discussion, I requested a reimbursement of $540 for 2.25 hours, compensating for the time spent waiting for my husband's arrival at the move site and assisting the movers along with repairs to the damaged mattress. Dale assured me he would discuss this with his team and process the refund.

To date, I have not received a follow-up from Dale, despite sending additional emails and making several phone calls. My last attempt to reach the office at (513) 769-6683, the number provided in the email correspondence between myself, Dale K. (Operations Mgr.), Jordan K. (Franchise Mgr.), and George D. (Owner), was on July 10, 2025, was disconnected.

We hired Two Men and a Truck – Denver Metro in June 2025 to move items out of a 8x10 storage unit. What should have been a straightforward move turned into an appalling experience involving negligent handling, unsafe practices, severe property damage, and a total refusal to take responsibility. Despite being on-site and repeatedly giving clear instructions for fragile items, here’s what happened: Movers shoved metal dollies under powder coated furniture, scraping and chipping finishes. They jammed a metal table behind other heavy items, resting it on a single corner (which was also damaged), and dragged a 50+ lb plastic bin over a Restoration Hardware desk, bowing and scratching the base. The top of the desk was scratched in a similar fashion.

A mover began dragging a 200 lb RH metal desk out of an elevator by himself, until my husband intervened for safety. The desk was damaged, and safe handling practices were entirely ignored. One mover placed a 50 lb Persian rug atop a fragile-labeled box containing a chandelier and which had 2 framed art prints resting on the box—again, my husband had to intervene to prevent additional property damage. A box clearly labeled “Fragile: Glass Pendant Light” was placed at the bottom of a stack of three heavy boxes in the unit. Every artwork box labeled “This Side Up” was packed incorrectly, sideways or upside down. A plaster and gold leaf frame was crushed. A mover, using one hand, slammed a Restoration Hardware side table down—corner first—then onto its glass top. I had to step in and explain to the mover the piece was delicate, so that he would handle items correctly.

A freshly cleaned Persian rug was tossed onto a small dolly by one mover and dragged across the asphalt and facility floors instead of being carried properly. I had to fold the corners of the rug in to prevent additional damage. A new Restoration Hardware nightstand was carelessly handled, causing its packing to unwrap mid-move. Corners were severely gouged, the wooden veneer peeled, edges were damaged, and pieces were falling off within the wrapping. This item must be professionally restored, along with the RH powder coated furniture. I found an antique breakfast table laying on its side rather than its base, which cased edge damage to the base and top.

We also experienced misleading valuation representations: When we submitted a detailed damage claim—complete with written descriptions and photographs—the franchise’s designated representative, Hanna Gonzalez, issued a generic settlement based solely on minimal valuation pricing ($0.60/lb). This was in direct contradiction to the $0.85/lb valuation for accidental damage that was verbally conveyed to us during contract signing by her colleague Isaac. Isaac also stated during contract signing that in addition to the $0.85/lb accidental damage reimbursement, if the crew was directly responsible for breaking/damaging anything during the move they would replace the item(s). Isaac misrepresented company policies and misled us.

Additionally, the damage described above resulted not from incidental mishaps, but from avoidable negligence and violations of basic moving practices. Worse, when we submitted a formal claim with photos and documentation of the negligence, we were met with a generic response from claims rep Hanna Gonzalez. She ignored all evidence of negligence and ultimately wrote “We will be ceasing further communication” when we reiterated our legitimate customer concerns and rights.

We escalated to the CEO Jon Nobis, VP of Talent Lindsay Gainor, and Controller Neil Santos, and they all refused to respond. Our only path to recover costs for repairs has been through a credit card dispute (which will still not cover the cost of damage repairs). This franchise's behavior—from the unsafe handling to the total refusal to acknowledge legitimate customer concerns—demonstrates a complete failure of accountability. Their website markets “careful, professional movers,” but our experience could not have been more opposite. This last move was so shockingly unprofessional and mishandled that we will never use them again.

3 years ago they moved me into my apartment and were exceptional. I came back to move with them to again, received the same time quote as before which made sense since they were moving all the same items. Needless to say, they took more than double the time they did 3 years ago. To be fair, they did need to unassembled and reassemble my Wayfair bed. I figured that would take an added hour. Instead, it took 3.5 hours. One of the movers did not move without the other, so I caught him standing around doing nothing several times. Since the bill was racking up more than double what I anticipated, I went into the truck and moved all my boxes and remaining furniture myself.

They broke a shelf in my new home, caused damage to my bed and didn't tell me, nor did they assemble it correctly. Moving is already stressful, and they added to that stress. I was told I'd receive a call to fix the shelf within 72 hours. I hadn't heard back in a week, so I wrote my survey. I got 1 email in response that corporate was looking into my complaint. Another week goes by and no response, no phone call, nothing. I then reached out to another form of communication, as I felt ghosted and like there was no urgency with my case. Finally they called after I reached out 4 times. They offered to knock off 10%. Read that again. This is a team that took more than twice the amount of time as before, all while moving the same pieces as before.

I am in customer service, and the reasonable action to have taken for a return customer would have been to call me with haste and intention, apologize, and offer to honor the quoted price. Had they done that, I would have been pleased. Instead I wait, wait, wait, and am offered a 10% refund. I am at tears with a heavy bill I am struggling to pay, having to fix my shelf they broke since they didn't contact me regarding that within a reasonable amount of time, and am now in search of a new bed frame, not sure how I will afford that either. This has been so disappointing. To go from such exceptional service to delinquency, I cannot stress enough that you do not know which end you will fall on with this company, and for that I am giving 1 star, as dependability and consistency with any company is what gains customer trust and respect.

I’m writing to share my experience with this moving company in hopes of helping others avoid the same situation. My move from La Crosse, Wisconsin to Woodbury, Minnesota should have been a relatively straightforward studio apartment move — no beds, no appliances, no large furniture. Just boxes, books, a small couch, and a coffee table. What I ended up with was one of the most frustrating and disappointing service experiences I’ve encountered — marked by poor communication, hidden charges, concerning employee behavior, and zero accountability from management.

The movers were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. We received no communication until 10:30 AM, and they didn’t show up until 10:50. Work didn’t begin until about 11:10. Yet at the end of the job, they claimed they arrived at 10:30 and billed us accordingly. Despite the clear discrepancy, no time adjustments were made. To make matters worse, the movers took an extended stop at QuickTrip during the move — over 20 minutes — which they also charged as part of their service time. That stop, along with bathroom breaks and idle time, were fully billed as if they were actively moving items.

Before the move, I received a written estimate of 2 to 4 hours of service. What wasn’t clearly explained was that this “service time” included the entire 2.5-hour drive from La Crosse to the Twin Cities — leaving only 45 minutes for loading and 45 minutes for unloading. That is completely unrealistic. I was quoted approximately $2,000, which aligned with their original $1,800–$2,300 estimate, and I signed off on that in good faith. But at the end of the move, I was stunned to receive a final bill of $3,150 — well above the quoted range and over $1,000 more than what I was told to expect.

When I asked how the charges had escalated so much, I was told, “This happens all the time.” The movers blamed the company’s estimators, saying they never ask the right questions and regularly misquote the scale of the job. They even gave examples of jobs where people claimed to have four rooms of items but actually had a full house, requiring multiple trucks and additional days of labor. From their perspective, this disconnect is standard — and it’s customers who pay the price for that broken process.

Beyond the billing issues, the conduct of one of the movers was extremely concerning. He was visibly angry throughout the move, often disengaged, throwing boxes, slamming equipment, and taking frequent phone calls. At one point he asked to use our restroom and took a 15-minute break. He wasn’t consistently moving items, and his energy was tense and off-putting. At one point, I asked, “Are you okay?” and his answer was: “I hate my job. I have to do this all the time to people. They never have a good experience. We get no support. We’re the ones stuck disappointing customers all day. I want to find something else.”

That behavior made me feel uncomfortable in my own home. His frustration was clearly real, but it should never spill over into a customer’s experience. The second mover was much more composed and professional — doing his best to move things forward — but it was obvious he was also caught in the tension of a job that had gone off track. When I asked to speak with a manager, the movers called two people. One finally called back — but refused to speak with me directly and only communicated through the movers. I was told someone would follow up on Monday. That was days ago, and no one has contacted me since.

I’m sharing this not out of bitterness, but to give a clear and honest account of what happened. The lack of transparency around pricing, the miscommunication between departments, and the emotional volatility from one of the movers created an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Moving is already stressful — what you don’t need is an inflated final bill, unsafe energy in your home, and a company that ghosts you once you’ve paid. If the company is willing to reach out and resolve this, I’m open to that. But more than anything, I want others to know what to expect. Based on what I witnessed and what the movers themselves shared, this is not a one-time issue. It’s a systemic problem. And that’s exactly why it needs to be shared.

We moved from Austin to Detroit in 2017 so this is a very late review but I feel compelled to share my experience with 2 Men and a Truck.
    1. They estimated 2 trucks' worth of stuff. We actually had 4- so we had to leave/throw away 50% of our stuff because we did not have time to get more trucks.
    2. We had not purchased a house so we put our stuff in storage, that was unpacked few months later. ALL of our tools, all of our Legos, some decorations, a toy airplane and some other stuff was stolen. We had packed these things in front of us but the trucks stood in Austin for about 3 days and then they took 2 days to drive to Detroit.
    3. When we complained, they said that they couldn’t help us because it was several months later or we never had that stuff.
    4. I don’t know how we could have prevented this because we couldn’t have brought all that stuff in the plane with us and we couldn’t have opened everything before they left but I do want people to know this.

I recently hired Two Men and a Truck to move my son and family from Lynchburg VA to Sanford NC. As all responsible people do, I called them in the area, described the move, the dates and gave a detailed list of items. I was informed (Caution - deception) "We do NOT (once you have a quote) to alter the price. The only way there would be a price increase is IF there was a SIGNIFICANT increase in items being Moved from this list. (This was a lie.)

I agreed, gave my $500.00 deposit and the truck showed up (LATE). Okay, no problem. Loading starts, guys are good but slow, and that's fine too.

    * RED FLAG #1: One item was prior listed to them as a coffee table, they said it was an "entertainment center " because it was a low coffee table BUT a TV was on it. (UPCHARGE)

    * My Daughter in law listed 60 boxes, well there were 65, (UPCHARGE)

    * Then they said their HARD TRUCK PULL OUT time was 3:00 PM and the truck was not fully loaded at 2:00 PM. (Mind you, this is a SMALL condo, 2-bedroom home. They said if the truck did not leave at 3:00 there would be an extra day added and significant (UPCHARGE). Mind you, they were slow in loading, and they didn't arrive till after 10:00 AM. So, now my son is having to hustle hauling furniture to load the truck himself.

    * Remember the coffee table / entertainment stand and their UPCHARGE for it? Well, the washer and dryer were included in the original item listing but they left without loading it, (3:00 PM exit limit). But there was no cost reduction.

UNLOAD DAY: well, they show up at 8:30 AM, FAST UNLOAD. Hastily throw things around. OUT in 4 hours and what was a $4100.00 quote developed into a $5100.00 charge with TWO, orders to UPCHARGE that could not be refused simply because they load your things and then once you are all in, they demand that you sign for $400.00 - $500.00 upcharges. At this point a customer has no out and they have you.

I would not let them move my doghouse. I found this experience to be a rip-off and an extortion game to inflate their bill. And there is a reason why they only take cash or bank check at delivery, because again, a customer has no recourse for dispute, and they won't unload a toothbrush until they have payment in hand. Obviously, this is our unfortunate experience, and this information is provided to help others decide for themselves who they want to hire for and ENJOYABLE moving experience.

In moving from NW Arkansas to the DFW Texas area I contacted Two Men and Truck for their services. A consultant, Cory, made a site assessment and prepared a quote for the move and requiring 1 truck. The day prior to the move a crew of 6 packers work for approx. 2 1/2 hours packing "most" of the household items. I realized there was much more that needed packed and prepped for moving but the packers said they were done and left. I contacted the Bentonville Ar. manager, Jarod, and he assured me with his years of experience there was only 1 hour left of prepping/packing, and it would be completed the next morning the day of the move. The morning of the move one truck and two movers arrived and started the process of prepping the remaining items and loading the truck which ended up taking 8 hrs. It became evident the consultant had underestimated the items and the required truck and that it would require a 2nd truck to complete the move.

At that time, I was driven by a deadline of the new owners taking possession of the house in 3 hours, the manager would not return my phone calls, so I accepted their new quote of an additional $3500 for the 2nd truck to complete the move. The trucks were finally loaded, and we left the residence 30 minutes prior to the new owners taking possession. All the while the loading crew, Joe and Ethane, worked their tails off loading then making the haul to Texas where the unload went great and with no issues. I am fortunate I was able to provide the additional $3500 for the move but it is bothersome that the consultant, who is a professional in this field, missed the original quote by over 50% and the branch manager not even returning my phone calls as I understand he was at lunch at the time.

They live by their quotes and some time below the quote. To me they are the best. I have used movers many times in my life. None compared to two men and a truck. I highly recommend them.

The Cincinnati location on Reading Road. Summing it up, they sucked, caused a lot of damage and overcharged. I told them ahead of time I had new wood floors from the front door through the kitchen and they needed to put something down to protect them. First heavy dresser coming up the wood steps they stop and put the piece down on the on the bare wood and gauged it. He said it would come up with a warm water wipe. It didn't because I could hear the wood against wood sound. They put a few runners down but not all the way through so many more scratches on the new floors. They damaged so much of the paint I just had done days before because the walls and trim needed it badly that I will have to touch up numerous areas and hope it doesn't look terrible after paying over $6000 for all the painting.

They kept trying to push something through the kitchen against my new stainless steel fridge I had to buy because the house didn't have one. They quoted me between about $3100-$3500 area and take probably 8-10 hours. It was over $4000 even though my son and I took some of the pieces they were going to move ourselves ahead of time and they lied about how many hours they worked and charged for 10 hours when it was 9 hours at best. Everything time I turned around they had me sign something new about what they weren't responsible for after causing damage due to oversized furniture and other crap. They couldn't beat it out of here quick enough knowing all the damage they caused.

They called in tow more guys. I had to be out by noon so I agreed to the extra two guys. The truck was fully loaded when it left. It was 24 hours later that they called me to say the truck weighed too much and would have to do two deliveries. Never once did they discuss the allowable weight for the truck.

They did their best to arrive with the first delivery on Feb 1st, but only two guys. We finished at 2:15 am. And they did not bring the requested items I asked for which made my appointment on Feb 3rd useless. The second delivery arrived the following Thursday. Thankfully all my belongings showed up. I would never ever recommend them. They tore my brand new mattress, they bent my bed frame, my furniture had many dings and scrapes and the biggest negative is it cost close to double what they quoted. They have yet to acknowledge their responsibility on damages but sure were quick to charge my credit card. Do not hire them, biggest scammers out there. When he unwrapped his tv it was severely cracked and unusable. Obviously guys knew it broke and that is why it was the only thing left unpacked. My husband unwarily & mistakenly signed off on everything, didn't unpack the tv or inquire about it because it was my son's.

The company offered $40 for the tv because their insurance compensates by so much a pound, not by value. Obviously there wasn't much care used in transportation and for customer's property, so I would not recommend. It was end of June and we had to be out of our house by July 1st and were in dire straights, but Two Men and a Truck jumped in immediately and saved the day. They sent a team to move everything left in the house the very same day we called, set up a team to load and transport it to Florida and deliver it on the date we had planned to move into our new house.

Everyone did an excellent job and was a dream to deal with. I would have easily given them 5 stars, but an expensive table was damaged in transit and it took over two months for them to find a repair company in Florida that would take the job. We had bought the insurance from them and they paid for the repair, plus pick up and delivery of the table. So after many phone calls and emails from me and the long time it took to get resolved, all ended well. Be aware that because each area has different franchisees, the company wherever you move has no responsibility to help you if something goes wrong.

Use anyone else. Hire a couple guys and rent a uhaul you’d be better off with people off the street than these guys.

I was called a racist for complaining. A liar when I questioned the size of the truck they brought. They complained at 4 hours into the move that “they didn’t take lunch and moving is hard”. That’s not my issue as I’m the customer not their boss. The one mover told me “I have a slave driver mentality”. Then told that where they are from they handle things physically with violence and they didn’t care that I was not satisfied. They told me they don’t care about negative reviews. The one mover told me that he is a heavy duty machinery operator and this is his second job that he doesn’t need and that his boss can’t control him. He kept saying “this isn’t some rookie company” not sure what that means, but they really are not a professional or decent company.

When I refused to sign to pay more money- despite being UNDER the quoted and pre authorized amount I’ve already paid them they then told me they would unload my belongings into the driveway and into rain. They refused to work for 30 min then the boss came and got them going again after I just signed whatever to get the move done. They left a large amount of my belongings at my old home and refused to take responsibility for not bringing a big enough truck. I was forced to move the rest in my car and ended up not getting out of my old home on time and lost part of my deposit. This is the worst experience with any company I have ever had in my life.

Two Men and A Truck, Lakeland, Florida gave us an estimate of our move from Winter Haven, Florida to Ocala, Florida on January 17, 2024 with a range between the minimum and maximum cost for this move of $1,675 to $2,015 but we ended paying $2,270. We also told them from the initial conversation that we had a piano that is included in the move which required special handling. On the day of the move they called us to ask about the description of the piano as they needed to bring special equipment to move this. They showed up without the equipment to move the piano and no mattress pad to cover our mattress. The team consisted of 2 men and one of them had a very positive attitude while the other one behaved as if he did not want to be there. He started complaining about all the glass furniture we had and one side table he called "a piece of rock."

They did not wrap some of our furniture and our fairly new sofa bed couch (one year) was soiled from them dragging and leaving it on the driveway uncovered. They struggled to manual lift the heavy piano to load on the truck and damaged the bottom of it. Then, after they loaded the truck the guy with the bad attitude realized he locked the keys in the back of the truck. They had to wait over an hour for someone to bring new set of keys from their office. Usually it takes 2 hours travel time from the Winter Haven address to the Ocala address, but it took them longer because they said the GPS took them to back roads and they got lost. When they finally arrived they were hurrying to unload the truck. They couldn't get the sofa bed into the room and so they left it laying in the living room trying to figure out what to do.

They finally figured out how to take off the legs and in doing so the bad attitude guy (Chris) damaged one of the 4 legs which required simple screwing it out because he was trying to use a screwdriver to remove it. To make matters worse he broke one of the glass shelves for our display rack and blamed my husband for it (he also blamed my husband for the sofa leg damage). Stating that he's not responsible for the glass breaking. He specifically told us before the move that we should purchase insurance for $100 because he was afraid glass might break. Yet when the glass broke he threw up his hands in the air and said he was not responsible although he was the one moving the rack and didn't wait to get help from the other guy. He walked off the job saying he was going to call his boss but never returned to clean up the mess.

The other guy had to do the cleaning up. Plus bad attitude guy spend time on personal call on his phone when he was supposed to be putting up the bed. They presented a bill for almost 4 hours over the allotted maximum time frame for the move and only removed 2 hours after we complained about the time they wasted and not sending the proper equipment that could have made the move more efficient and less time consuming by sending a truck with a lift gate. They still charged more than $200 over the maximum they quoted for the move. When we spoke to Christina in the office about this she came on the phone with a bullying, strong armed attitude telling us she's not going to adjust the bill and we should decide if we want them to take care of the damages or nothing at all.

I must emphasize that ALL the issues we had with the move was caused by the bad attitude guy (Chris). He locked the keys in the truck, he broke the glass, he damaged the couch leg and caused the piano damage because he placed the heaviest part of the workload on the other guy (Christian). All other personnel we interacted with were professional and helpful except Chris and Christina. These are the few bad apples that can damage a company's reputation. Needless to say, we will NEVER use Two Men and a Truck again. We have used other moving services in the past and this is the worst experience we have had.

    Reviewed Jan. 19, 2024

I waited 6+ months to write the review to be certain my review will not be emotional driven. I hired the company around Feb 2023 to do a long distance move, from Arkansas to Florida in May of 2023. From a two bedroom apartment on the third floor (2 flights of stairs, about 30 steps) to a two bedroom apartment on the first floor (1 flight of stair, about 12 steps).

Beginning: All seem professional, their representative (a lady) came to my home in Arkansas to assess all the furniture and amount of items. She saw all my big/heavy hardwood furniture, wall mirrors/paintings, a wall of books, special care items such as a 150lbs statue, an antique wooden trunk, etc. She assured me, "No problem." She spent an extensive amount of time on explaining how they do not move thru a third party truck company in between en route. Hence, the guys I see in AR shall be the same ones in FL. That part was true. "No worries, we even handle the move for the governor, you are in good hands."

To this day, the only "emotional" remark I would make is, "I guess since I am not the governor, I got a very different service/experience." Since it was not my first long distance move, after researching, I was well aware I can only choose the most suitable to my best knowledge. In addition, I saw them move others at the apartment complex I lived at. I decided to enlist their service. Their quote was not the cheapest I got, they asked for about 8700.

She offered me a discount on getting packing materials, after looking at her list, I declined. I realized, it was not a lot cheaper, also, the same "medium box" is smaller than a standard medium I get from Walmart/Home Depot/Amazon. I also declined her offer on packing service. I know how to pack correctly and make the moving process easier with labeling and such. For example, taking into consideration of the movers, I never packed any of my books into one huge box, they were either in a small size box or I split the remaining 40% of the box space with towels and blankets, etc.

The Day of the Move: There was no trouble with the actual moving date, on the contrary, I was behind schedule with packing, miscellaneous items in my kitchen were not in boxes. I reached out to her and asked if the arrival time can be pushed back for about 2 hours. She said it cannot be done, fair enough. She told me, "They can start moving all the things in the other areas while you finish the items in the kitchen." Again, fair enough, so I agreed.

Upon arrival. A Pensake truck and two guys. It is indeed "Two Men and A Truck". Although I was starting to worry, I had no choice and couldn't question them at that point. My concern was, "How will the two of you, move my furniture and my boxes from here to downstairs without breaking your back?" My suggestion for anyone, make sure you ask for more than 2 movers if you believe you have a lot of heavy items and valuables the way I did. I did not ask only because I assumed she was at my place and it was a professional common sense for a moving company to know it would not be a 2-men job.

Since the two men already knew I need time to finish with the kitchen. They informed me, "Our company rule is, we start with a section at a time, you can pack while we do so, but once we finish with for example, the bedroom, you cannot add another item in the bedroom, we will move it. Today, we will make your kitchen and dining room area the last two sections. If you still have things you cannot finish packing by the time we move these two sections, these items will not be moved." I agreed, again, I was the one behind schedule, I found it very fair.

Quickly, I continued with my packing and stayed out of their way. Then, I noticed, to my horror, they did not lift anything at all, such as obvious hardwood pieces, boxes carefully labeled with "this side up" or "fragile". It did not matter, they were stacked however they could fit on a handheld trolley. All my items are loaded onto a trolley, boxes or furniture, did not matter. Then I watched them in disbelief, for my things "bounced their way each step of the way down to the ground level" by one guy. That was how my dryer, washer, 7 feet long sideboard, boxes of wine glasses, etc. made their way to the truck downstairs.... I have moved many times, I never saw a moving company being this disrespectful to someone's belongings.

Anyone can tell, those two men were exhausted for it was a minimally 3 men job. They had to take many breaks. One of them even threw up. It was 80+ degrees in AR. Five hours later, they were still loading the truck and that was when they told me, my 6 feet wall mirrors will not make it to the truck.... Well, the lady who came to assess did a list on the manifest, my understanding, all items on the list have to make it. That was why I used a moving company and did not rent a Pensake truck myself, right? I couldn't move these items on my own.

When I contacted the lady, she said, "Well, you got in their way to start with, you were the one who did not finish with your packing, we are not responsible for what would not fit onto the truck for you went beyond the space. By the way, they are behind schedule at this point already because of you." I was in the middle of a cross-state move, I was left in limbo. I was not even interested in whose blame it should be. I only wanted solutions to get my move complete at that point. None was offered, blame was offered.

The Aftermath of the Actual Move Day: This was not the end. I scrambled to find a small rental truck or big SUV myself while they load the remaining boxes onto the truck. After they left, when I walked into my bedroom (the section that was loaded before the kitchen and dining room), a heavy 2 feet tall armory (40lb) and about 5 packing bags of clothing (2 feet long 1 foot tall) were left in the room. In addition, I found that the 150lb statue, wrapped in packing blanket by them, was tugged away under the countertop of the kitchen island.... I did not put it there, it was in my living room, the first section that was being loaded.

That was when I had no choice but to call the same lady again. Now, the huge wall mirrors and a 150lb statue that weighs more than me by 30% is beyond my ability to handle.... Since she offered again nothing but blame, I spoke with her manager. In tears, I asked for a solution for I couldn't get a rental car on a Sat and I must arrive in FL by the time this truck arrives. I asked him "Your rep did not have the right to be this rude and blame the customers, I was cordial all along, further, she came, assessed my belongings, I told her I have a lot of items, why didn't you guys get me a bigger truck, I was willing to pay more if needed." He said, "We only operate with boxtruck. We do not have any bigger size, your only option was to hire two trucks." Hmn.... no, she never told me this.

After I explained to him I cannot move the statue myself, and unlike the mirrors, I cannot discard it for it has sentimental value to me, he said, "Okay, I will send a few guys over tomorrow to get the remaining items and then put them in our storage and when we get a work order to Florida, and if I could, I will piggyback your items to you." There was no mentioning "not with additional charge", there was no mentioning "when". My guts told me, this did not smell right. So I declined his "offer".

Arrival Day: If the lady was accurate the accusation of why it took their two guys more than 5 hours to load the truck because of my "getting in the way", the unloading will be a good proof of truth. One flight of stairs instead of two, plus, I was helping them myself by bringing items I can lift into the space. It still took them many breaks, it still took them 5+ hours.

Result: I honestly did not want to pay them the remaining balance in full for the nightmare they gave me. But I am a firm believer of doing my part. Karma. So I did. I even tipped the movers. They gave me a sad story of if I refused to pay, they would have to sit there and such and such and they only got paid for a measly 100+ a day, etc. etc. I was so exhausted, I drove nonstop for 16 hours to catch up to them in Florida. Leaving my leftover items behind in AR. I only wanted anything associating with this company to be out of my sight and space.

Final Condition of My Belongings: From the bouncing down and up the stairs, all my valuable wooden furniture either was 1. chipped, 2. cabinet doors that wouldn't close, 3. wooden trunk lid totally broken off. And 5% of fragile items were broken (to be honest, had I not packed these with experience, I would not be surprise over 50% would have been broken).

In hindsight, I 1. Did not demand more than Two Men, 2. Fell for the "we moved for the governor" talk, false sense of assurance, 3. Did not ask about size of truck option ahead of time. Two Men And a Truck was not even the cheapest quote I had, I chose them simply because I saw them moved others at where I lived and I heard of them. From my understanding later on, they were decent enough back then, but by the time I employed their service, their management was different... Now that I also read the complaints they have in recent months at the Better Business Bureau, I wish I saw those back then.

    Conclusion:
    1. Their service is obviously inconsistent;
    2. They are also not the cheapest;
    3. They are not responsible;
    4. They do not have professional nor respectful customer service, nor do they have a well trained crew to offer 'reaction solution' to help customers, both are very important factors when we move, especially in a long distance move;
    5. If you are moving locally, and your move does not involve flight of stairs or heavy/valuable items, and you are willing to take the chance, maybe, you can have a normal moving experience;

    5. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

When I first called Two Men and a Truck to make an appointment, the lady I spoke with to schedule my move didn’t seem to know much. She asked me what was being moved and the date needed. I gave her the information. She sent me the quote, well actually she sent me two. She called me back and told me to disregard the first one which was actually less than the second one. When I got my pre-check email it had the wrong moving date on it. I called the office and spoke to a very nice gentleman and I explained she put the wrong date. He said “no problem we will fix it” which he did. The day of move the moving team called me to let me know when they would be there. Very prompt. They showed up, was supposed to be 3 people but they had a trainee with them. No big deal. Everything was going great.

As they were loading the truck, I left to go to my new house and my husband stayed behind with the movers. Fast forward, they showed up to my new residence, unloaded everything. When they were leaving I gave them each a very nice tip including the trainee. After they left my husband informed me that they had asked him if they could go in the fridge (at the old house) to get something to drink. He said “sure”. Not realizing until they left to go to the new house that they took all his beer (it was about a six pack worth). So once they left the new house my husband plugged in our new (only 2 months old) 75” TV that the movers moved, and when he turned it on there was a huge crack in the upper right corner of the TV and the screen had no picture. I was livid. I called one of the movers from the number that called me earlier to let them know. I sent them pictures and he said he would let his manager know.

The next day I got a phone call from Two Men and a Truck. I told him about the TV and he said he saw the pictures. He apologized and asked me to send him the make and model of the TV and where we purchased it. I sent him the info. He emailed me back and this is what he wrote: and I quote…. “Here is the weight. It is a little less than 70 lbs. I will round up to 70 lbs. to make it even. Now, I am multiplying 70lbs times $0.60 per pound totaling $42.00. Like I said we will look to try to repair or replace before issuing a check for the amount. I will be contacting vendors now.” $42 ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! They are not taking responsibility of damaging our 75” TV. All they said to me was as a courtesy they will send us the $42 check for the TV. I would really appreciate any help with this matter to either have them repair it or replace it.

During the move, the movers caused damages to everything they touched. The head mover reported the incidents to their office and took pictures. I followed up with numerous calls and pictures of the damages. Some damage was caused to my property fixtures as well. They had two of their reps come to my house on two different occasions to access the damages. Repaired the house fixtures and was notified they will be reaching back to me with a resolution to the other damages. That never happened. I have emailed and called them on numerous occasions to no avail. The pictures are too many to upload. I had a really bad experience with Two Men and a Truck Movers. First, the movers did not bring part of a bed frame in the truck so my son, wife and me had to go back and get the frame parts and assemble it ourselves (disassemble/assemble was included in price). Second, the movers did not bring boxes upstairs, they left about 30 boxes on the first floor of a three level townhome. Third, the movers did not disassemble/assemble our wall unit to bring it to the 2nd or main level so it was left in the garage. Fourth, the movers lost an original authentic art piece, which is valued around $1,000.00. The reason is was undetected during the move is because the movers just left without letting us (home owners) know so we were not able to discuss thing that were left undone or missing. A terrible experience. MHS.

This continued to happen and was not justified. Extra because more things than they thought, I was still packing when they arrived, truck not big enough (after all items were identified with the pre estimate, plus deposit!). I finally realized they were taking advantage of a 74 yo woman alone.

So, Jeremy said he would just charge for 6 hrs (the move is by hours not furnishings), went to new location, they unloaded in the driveway and left. I called and Jeremy said they did not like my directions (protect the newly done hardwood, etc.). They did not do one thing as advertised - just wanted money and no service! I have contacted the corporate office and Jeremy’s boss. This is Two Men And a Truck Cookeville Tn. Unfortunately, I paid because Jeremy said only he could take the money; unknown to me they left right after - I expected them to finish the job!

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER! I will give kudos to two employees at this location -- Joanie and Tyquan. They are the ONLY ones who have followed the Two Men and a Truck mission statement! The driver Keon was extremely unprofessional in his handling of a situation that arose and the manager T and field operations supervisor Carlos have been of little assistance in resolving my issues. I had an interstate move from Atlanta to Jacksonville. The packing of my home seemed to go smoothly -- however, I had requested and received a quote for boxes for my 65" TV and my wall art which were not on the truck when they arrived. They assured me that they would take great care of my belongings.

Once we arrived in Jacksonville to unload the next day, things started to take a turn. I have a very large sectional sofa that the movers were well aware of when I was quoted for the move. They also had packed it on the truck in Atlanta. All of my items were removed from the truck and brought into my new home, except one section of the sofa. Keon had told me when loading that they were used to having to use the stairwells for moves and it would not be a problem. When they could not fit the piece into the elevator, the frustration level rose to a boiling point with Keon. He actually got in the truck and left Tyquan standing in the parking lot. No one could reach him as he had driven off of the complex property.

I received a call from the move manager T trying to come up with a solution. I suggested the stairwell which was met with hesitation. 45 minutes later Keon returned and the movers got my sectional to the 4th floor stairwell landing. Because THEY DID NOT HAVE THE CORRECT TOOLS to take off standard legs on my sofa, it could not fit through the door. T wanted ME to go to Home Depot to purchase the skinny screwdriver they needed. Keon disappeared AGAIN and never returned to speak with me. I found my tools and attempted to take the legs off to fit it through the doorway but did not have the proper tool. So here's what happened....

MY SECTIONAL WAS LEFT ON THE STAIRWELL LANDING (WHICH IS A FIRE HAZARD) AND I WAS GIVEN A $150 CREDIT ON MY $3900 MOVE!!!! INSULTING!! Also, NONE of my furniture was unwrapped or put back together (which I was assured would happen since it is part of the contract). I also have some pretty significant scratches on my dark wood furniture. I have attempted to have someone call me and resolve the issue multiple times. I suggested a resolution to Carlos 4 days ago and have not heard back. This location has broken the "Grandmother Rule" of Two Men and a Truck on many levels at this point. Next stop....the national headquarters for the company. I may be a single woman, but I will wield a mighty sword when I am wronged.

I hired Two Men and a Truck in NJ to move a small load. You get quoted a low estimate and then it doubles when they leave. But besides that, they lost some of my items and damaged my furniture and then gave me a quote to replace. Pennies they offered, but I was fine with that. You get what you pay for. But they ruined two couches and ripped a king mattress and offered me a mattress cover to put over a newer mattress. The mattress is a year old and there is no way I want a mattress cover. I was told by the Piscataway NJ unit that now it will take 3 months to decide what the outcome will be because they had to ask a manager. That is ridiculous, they may think I will forget about it but I won't. I will wait it out then take action. Beware!!

    Reviewed June 2, 2023

I don’t ever recall taking the time to leave a review. I guess I’ve always felt too busy and that it just wasn’t worth my time. That is until today when I was taken to collections by Two Men and a Truck for an unpaid bill from a year and a half ago. In October of 2021 I hired this company for a partial move. I had flexibility so I was just trying to move some of my things and then I was going to move the remaining items the following weekend. I was not able to be present for most of this move as I was attending my Father’s celebration of life ceremony. My wife was left supervising most of the process. I was present for the arrival of the three movers.

The day started with them backing their truck up into my lawn leaving an approximately 5 foot chunk of my lawn torn up by their bumper. It went downhill from there. None of these people appeared to have experience in moving, my wife had to provide a screwdriver to one of the movers and then he asked her how to use it! They literally scratched, dropped, lost, or ruined nearly every single item they touched. They dragged a heavy dresser down the stairs banging it down every single step with drawers flying open into the wall. When my wife said that she had seen others either remove drawers or wrap

The dresser so the drawers wouldn’t fall out, the mover said, “That’s a great idea!”. They had already broken the mirror Bracket off by this point as they attempted to use it as a handle. My brand new deck railing was scraped through because they dragged the patio furniture across it several times. One of the patio chairs disappeared by the time they got to the new house. My wife said they dropped the vast majority of the boxes they carried out breaking several items on my front sidewalk. By the time they were loaded my wife was upset and worried. This process was not only incompetently handled but VERY slow with only a small portion of the expected amount actually moved.

Upon arriving at the new house they began unloading which was handled in a similar manner but relatively uneventful until it came time to move my sectional sofa inside. This is when my wife felt the need to disturb me even though I was at my Father's celebration of life. She called and said to please come home as soon as possible, she had witnessed the movers trying to force the sectional sofa through the basement sliding door. She said things were breaking and pieces were snapping off. She asked the movers if she could help by removing the door handle herself as she saw that it was about to break from the way they were hitting it.

After several attempts and after breaking off all of the legs from the sectional, they gave up trying to get it inside. That’s when, presumably out of frustration, they dragged the leather sectional, on its back across the paver patio which tore and scratched the leather. The sliding glass door frame was damaged, the screen slider was broken, the woodwork was damaged, and the door would no longer open or close correctly by the time they were done. Additionally, it began to rain. It was at this time I arrived. I was very frustrated and asked the movers if they intended to do anything about my sofa being rained on. They informed me that there’s nothing they could do, it wouldn’t fit. At this time, I asked my two sons (who were with me) to grab an end and between us we managed to move the sectional inside without doing any damage in less than a minute.

When I questioned one of the two movers who were still on site about the damage they had done (by now the “leader” had left) one of them actually looked at me and said “how do we know you didn’t do this damage?”. Luckily before I lost my temper, the other guy says “come on dude, you know we did that”. At least he had some integrity I guess. Sectional $6500, dresser $1500, railing $2500, deck furniture $200 (but it won’t match), broken glasses, picture frames, misc??? Leaving my family event, freaking out my wife, dealing with repairs etc and the inconvenience of it all? The hourly bill for their work came to $2100 which I cancelled with my credit card company for obvious reasons once the management proved difficult to reach. Funny, they had my wife sign all of the final “work completed to my satisfaction” docs prior to moving ANYTHING, seems legit right?

When I was finally able to reach anyone in management they gave me a total run around. They asked for pics but then the pics weren’t good enough. There were always several days between calls as they were never available and there was always a reason they couldn’t handle it. I’ve got six kids and three jobs so I don’t have a lot of time.

It got to a point where I just decided I would eat the damages in exchange for the bill and try to forget about the whole thing. I never heard anything again until 18 months later when I got a notice I’m being sent to collections for the original bill. I haven’t reviewed it yet but I can only assume there is a clause in the contract that I only have 18 months to collect damages. They probably wait until that period expires before sending to collections so I have no recourse. This experience was the worst I’ve ever had with any business in my life. Incompetence, laziness, unethical behavior; this is a disgusting company to do business with. I’m sure there are good franchises but I had a nightmare experience that I will never forget.

Along with another middle-aged woman, and a young man who had little to no experience moving furniture! They showed up at my house on Saturday morning dropped off by an Uber! No handtruck, no dollies, no nothing. The only thing they brought with them was plastic wrap, and the first thing they wanted to do was waste time wrapping dresser drawers with plastic, I insisted empty dresser drawers did not need to be wrapped!

When I called their office to complain, they told me they don’t discriminate against women. I do not discriminate against women either, but I did not hire a very small 20 something year old girl as a moving man or a middle-age woman. If that were my intention, I would’ve used my wife and daughter. If it had not been for me, supplying them with a handtruck and myself, and my son, helping with the heavy furniture, the move would not have taken place and after all the nonsense these people subjected me to they charged me an additional half hour, On top of the $905 they charged me for three hours!

I asked Eric repeatedly, the young man who seem to be in charge if we were still within the time constraints so that I would not be charged additional time and every time I asked him he told me yes, but apparently he was so new to the company he did not understand the policy that they have to allow a half hour travel time to get back to their base! I have hired numerous moving companies in my 63 years of moving many times, and I have never had a moving company send me a young girl, a middle-age woman, and another young guy with little to no experience! Do yourself a favor and do not use this company.

It took them 2.5 hours to load a couch, dresser, bed, tv stand, desk and a TV. They wouldn't take the TV at first because the truck wasn't full enough so I mentioned calling the manager after which they agreed to take it.

Upon getting to the new place, they couldn't get the couch in and damaged the walls. They put the bed together wrong and left the dresser in the wrong part of the room when I asked twice to have it moved. They told us they would be back at 9am the next morning to complete the move (couch). We were ok with that. They didn't show up or call the next day. They called at 9:45 when everyone was gone and begged to come complete the move at which point we informed them it was too late, we were not interested in any business moving forward based on the horrible experience.

I spoke to a manager about the damages done and they acknowledged it and told me a manager would call me. Instead of contacting me to resolve the issues, they charged me another $156 for "extra time made on the move." They moved 6 pieces of furniture (I moved the rest myself throughout the day) and 2 boxes 1.4 km and are trying to charge for over $800 for the move after they damaged both properties. I was quoted at $600 before anything happened. I signed nothing to complete the move. I'm moving about a 20-minute drive from where I live right now, and the quote he gave me was $500 when all I'm moving is a PC with a desk, 2 bags of clothes, a toaster oven, microwave, mini fridge and a bicycle. Just the contents of my tiny bedroom. I laughed and hung up. Found someone who can do it for $50.

This company is all talk and poor performance! I am a single person moving 2 bedrooms and garage storage items one city over and the 2 guys that came were initially enthusiastic and after looking at everything that I already packed confirmed that the 2 guys could move me within the 3 hour paid window of time. Not only did they go over the 3 hours forcing me to pay several hundred dollars more than originally quoted but also broke several items that were valuable.

Apparently they are given a 30 minute break where they left and 8 drawer dresser tilted up on its side in the new garage for that whole time breaking the plastic settings the drawer rails for into preventing the drawers from being able to slide in and out smoothly. Why they left a dresser sit on its side like that and disappear into their truck is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

They told me originally that I could leave the drawers full but then the movers complained that it was too heavy for them and to remove the drawers. Needless to say the $1800 dresser was ruined because once the drawers were removed with the plastic clip pieces broken and the silver rolling balls all over the ground from the drawer track, the dresser was being damaged. I even watched one of the movers walk around the corner to get high from my upstairs bedroom window. This is the worst moving experience and poor customer service in any of my moves, and I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone. You are better off hiring strangers through Craigslist to move you.

No effort was made to rectify. 2 movers were sent, but one got injured and could not finish the move. It was a 2 hour move to Naples, FL. Had to move my own items off the truck and up the stairs with the remaining mover. Was called and told not to get on the truck and help was on the way. No help ever arrived. Furniture severely damaged. Suffered multiple bruises. Paid over $2000 and only $150 refund was issued for dissatisfaction. Would not recommend to anyone. Horrible customer service and even the corporate office was no help in correcting this awful situation.

I hired this company to move me in July. They sent lovely guys that were new except for one. They didn’t the entire day in two rooms. I had to guide the third one and tell them how to write on the boxes. They did not have pens. One of her packed nixed upside down and they packed my wine which got out in a hot truck. I started packing to help. I bought the guys food and water then we returned to packing. The third mover was new and wandered around. The next day when the crew that loads the boxes on the truck to take them to my new place, we’re livid that the packing was only completed in two rooms. They called management who came to review and they called more guys over to know it out which took the entire day and into the night. Because some of the boxes were packed upside down, and opened on my stairs which broke on my wood stairs and scratched the wood.

The guys were exhausted as I was after packing and kidding my car. They got lazy at the end understandably and as a result items weren’t completed and some furniture left at the house. I was then charged $6000 for a 7 mile move. I called management to make it right that as a result of their misdirects, I was not paying for that. It was given to review by person who was not in the team that came to Inspect what had not been done by the packers, when the moving guys called complaining. I was told that I had to pay for the hour out in and was then charged liver $6000 for 7 miles. I’m moving this weekend to Dallas and it’s costing me $3500 with another company with ethics. I think this felt so fraudulent that they can send people to stand around and hang out at my house taking their time and not knowing what they are doing then charge me for their incompetence.

They should have made right for me. How often do you get management called. Over by their own team then add more people because if the guys the day before. I should not have had to lay for the day before. It was unacceptable and they never made it right, even being dishonest to my credit card company by ignoring their investigation. I would never recommend this company and hope no one ever gets scammed like I did.

They also like dirty tricks such as telling you that last person who put your bed together damaged it and you need to pay more for them to fix it. I reminded them they were the last ones who moved me and put my bed together and I was sure they could handle it.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY! Absolutely Horrible Workmanship. Andrew, Dillion, Max and Orlando were the four guys that came to pack us out. Andrew did the loading of the truck while the other three moved stuff to the garage. So let's start with the good. They were friendly and professional and did a great job of getting the safe out of the basement. However, that's where the quality ended and the nightmare began.

When we started on the furniture I told Andrew specifically I had plenty of blanket (3 dozen) and could get more if needed and to be sure to protect the dining room chairs. You will see by the pictures they did not do as I asked. The chairs, tables, bed furniture are not just scratched, they are gouged. No blanket protection on hardly any of the chairs and to make matters worse they stacked boxes and other furniture on the unprotected chairs. They actually took the time to wrap my dryer in a blanket and then in plastic but yet stacked chairs on each other with nothing protecting them. And the boot prints on the leather. I must have asked him 6 or 7 times if he needed more blankets and that I could run to get more, "Oh no we are good." Let the pictures speak for them self.

When it came time for the bill, it was padded it by an hour. They claim they left their shop at 0800 and took 30 minutes to drive 4.2 miles to storage unit. We also bought them lunch and they took a 30 minute break and billed us for that as well. They also tried to bill me for a truck that I did not even use or need, they did eventually remove the truck from the bill. Now Andrew did a great job getting every into the truck, if he had only taken the time to protect my furniture this review would be entirely different. There is absolutely no excuse for his lack of concern or care for our furniture. Furniture stacked on furniture, boxes stacked on unprotected furniture, bags stuffed on furniture, ceramic pots placed on furniture. Boots prints on the leather.

There isn't any amount of money one could pay me to use or recommend this company ever again. 100% unreliable, untrustworthy incompetent. Even the company that unloaded the truck made numerous comments about how bad this pack job was and how could anyone load furniture unprotected the way they did. I have over a 100 pictures of the damage they did. Reach out and I will share them with you. YOU ARE A FOOL TO USE THIS COMPANY!

Kept calling and another worker came out. They said, "It is cosmetic." Told them, "We do not accept this" and they said they would follow up. They never did. Quotes were given for replacement. They said dollies are supposed to have protection so they do not damage property but they are old.

Damaged garage wall. Did not properly patch hole and never came back to fix it. They will not fix any large damages. The move took significantly longer due to weather and circumstances. This was understandable. At the end of the day almost all of the crew were sitting outside when there was still furniture to build. Hired them to pack kitchen also. The boxes they did not label, a quarter of the kitchen they never packed.

My experience with Two Men And A Truck provided an unprofessional catastrophic avoidable mixup. That’s what it was. I made my reservation weeks in advance. I called back and confirmed several times and reviewed what I was moving. During the reservation process I was asked about how much stuff I had and what kind of stuff I had to move. There was a full disclosure of all the addresses involved and elevators and stairs and parking. And for unexplained reasons I was assigned to a team with a truck that had no lift or no ramp. The driver called me during the last half an hour of the window of time the team was scheduled to pick up my stuff. That’s before they ever got to the place where things were to be picked up.

During the call I asked the driver “How are you going to mover my armoire. I don’t have much stuff but I do have two armoires.” He asked me to take a picture of my things. And I remind you, this is minutes before the scheduled arrival of the vehicle to pick up my stuff. The answer was “We are canceling the move. We can’t pick it up. It’s too big.” Let me just say that they are armoires of typical dimensions. They are 6 feet tall by 4 feet wide by 18 inches deep. They’re not gigantic baroque furniture pieces. But that was it. My move was canceled. I won’t carry-on about how my house sale was closing the very next day. And how much trouble this cost me.

My opinion of this company is that the dispatcher needs to review policy and needs to do a much better job communicating to the customers what is it that they can move and what they can’t. I suggest they be much more inquisitive about the services possible and the needs of the customer. How can someone who moves maybe two or three times in a lifetime with a house full of furniture, know what a company can or cannot move. Especially when they already interviewed me in advance to give me the estimate. They should be ashamed. I didn’t loose any money to them but I lost a hell of a lot of time and anxiety. My cancellation was for an appointment the day my house sale was closing. Needless to say I’ve move on to another company quickly. Until they address this problem make it much more clear to the customer, I would strongly suggest you find another company.

Based on my experience, each affiliate may be different: The positive: movers were nice & on time. Negatives: This was the most expensive and inefficient professional move I've ever had out of dozens-- and the one we (customers) did the most work on, packing and carrying many carloads of items ourselves that got left behind, rehiring the company for a second day to finish, etc.)

We were overcharged in two ways, had trouble communicating to fix (though ultimately got it fixed). Lead on crew had illness/seizure (so sorry for him, obviously not his fault), but we had to call medics and he had to leave... It all delayed the move a lot and we had to finish with 2 men but paid for 3. (I eventually got that sorted out but it wasn't easy.) No apologies, nothing offered. Military discount promised was not on invoice (I eventually got that sorted out but it wasn't easy.)

Many communications issues: many carloads of items were left behind. Comforters, pillows, kitchen items (kitchen was a full pack and move), small appliances, dishes, sponges, wine glasses inbox, towels, linens, pans, cutting boards, trash cans, boxes we'd packed, a fan in a box, vacuum cleaner, so much. more.

So that very night, we had to return to the house and pack our own cars with items needed for that night, and then we rehired the company to come back another day! (Fortunately, we were allowed back in the house!) The company charged us double time for the finish up (2 hr minimum but only took them 1 hr 15 min), but it would have just taken about 15 minutes total and very little extra $ for them to have finished the original move correctly. So expensive! The finish up move was over $400.

After multiple communications, the only thing offered after fixing the mistakes was the manager took off an extra $20 fuel surcharge for the second move.

I think what would have been fair in light of all the problems was not to charge us for the second move that only took an hour but we got charged for two...and it still would have been an expensive and terrible experience.

We hired professionals to try to make the move quick and easy like so many of my moves in the past. This was an awful, expensive, time-consuming experience that spanned days, not including the time spent emailing and on the phone to try to fix things. Maybe other affiliates are different but I would never use Two Men and a Truck again, based on this experience, and cannot recommend them.

Here is a PARTIAL list of abuses as they don't all fit. I have never experienced anything like what I experienced 12/31/21 at the hands of Two Men and a Truck.

...Nobody smiled or made eye contact and everybody had an attitude like they were doing some sort of favor for me that I was not paying for as to being a national moving chain where I was paying top dollar.
    - They stood around vaping for 30-45 minutes and then without a word, closed up the truck. I went inside the house and saw there were things in every room they were going to leave.
    - When I expressed alarm about this and protested, (name) said "I don’t have to move you" and threatened to walk off the job. Nobody else said a word.
    - I had to return to my house four times after the move to get the remaining items that didn't fit in my car. For instance, they left my kitchen trash can.
    - When (name) and (name) started to put the swing on the truck after this incident, (name) said leave it and took it out of their hands and threw it on the ground.
    - I told them I didn't want any trouble and that I don't care who was wrong or right, but let's just get the job done. This also angered (name).
    - When I attempted to talk to him to smooth things over, he rolled up the window on me and made fun of me for being a single mother to my face because I explained that I was too physically small to move some of these things.
    - When we got to the storage unit, (name) said this is way less stuff than he thought it would be and would fit no problem. We loaded up the carts and went down. It was pieces of a bed, a few boxes, and a king size mattress.
    - When I went to look at the truck the boxes had been clearly THROWN into the truck and were sticking out at odd angles. Still, (name) and (name) said they just had to put the last few things on the truck from the one cart left and we'd meet at the house in 5 minutes.
    - An hour later, this woman from operations office called saying that because the truck was so poorly loaded I had to waive liability or they would take everything out of the truck and leave it in the parking garage. I was effectively strong-armed into signing this. She was a bully and treated me like a criminal and scared me into signing and I kept trying to understand what was happening. She said I sign or she dumps it all.
    - I was intimidated at this point and afraid from being threatened that they'd abandon my stuff.
    - I asked if there was something I could’ve done differently in my packing to which your operations woman said no it’s just a circumstance beyond our control but I had 2 choices to sign or get my stuff dumped and she was clearly exasperated with me and wanted to get off the phone so I let her go as I was afraid I'd get charged.
    - I go to the storage and sign the waiver. They said it's only a 4 minute drive and they'd drive slowly.
    - (the operations rep) calls and says they are going to lunch. Lunch is fine but they all had lied to me and after signing a waiver and being assured they'd come to the house this was the time they decided to take all my stuff in the opposite direction.
    - Please note, I was prepared to order all of them lunch as I do with every move. I could not believe this.

    - An hour later, they showed back up at the new house. I said nothing.

Other things I came home to find:
    - They left the moving blanket on my wood table in my kitchen all taped up.
    - My mirror chest of drawers which cost $2000 was also left wrapped and on its side.
    - Boxes labeled attic and boxes labeled various rooms were left in wrong rooms.
    - They overcharged me by 500 dollars (I paid for hours of waiting, vaping, and lunch) now in dispute.

-They did not assemble my hardwood bed which was my main request with estimator.

I was treated like a criminal as opposed to a customer. Their response to this was to call me on speaker phone and tell me why they can't enter an attic (not the point) plus nobody said that when I said go to my attic. I could have handed things down to them. Just a totally unethical company.

If any item get damaged they will not be responsible for it, you must buy extra insurance because they will not be responsible for any negligent damage. Unfortunately, I had this issue and the only solution they gave me was to pay .60 cents per pound for my brand new drawer that is valued $500 meaning $60. I think is kind of an insult for a customer to get paid this if you don’t pay for any insurance especially when you are trusting a “professional and reliable company”. They also arrived 3 hours late of time agreed. They painted over my damaged furniture without my consent and thought I was not going to find out. While the front office was fantastic in assisting with a short notice move, during the move and post move I had nothing but negative experiences. While packing, a mover broke a fan and informed his manager (which was great, thank you!) But I had to argue with a claims rep to get this item paid out. Apparently filling out a damage form on site and the employee in question confirming he broke it by accident, was insufficient to get a replacement. I was instead offered the cost of replacing the fan minus the damage deductible. Fortunately, someone higher up resolved that issue - but the fact that my claim had to be taken up to a higher level to get the money I was owed is disappointing.

Additionally, I just found ANOTHER item (in addition to multiple broken items that after the deductible was no additional funds to me, even at the higher insurance coverage) that had been hidden in a maintenance closet. The movers were not asked to move anything into this maintenance closet, so I can only assume this was done intentionally to hide the damaged item. As the period to file a claim for broken or damaged items is insanely short (3 days vs 75 days from other companies), my only recourse is to provide an honest accounting of the issues I had when using this company for their moving and packing services.

I called them because the wall unit pieces (two) were large and I did not want it to be destroyed in the move. I was paying good money to have some items taken to Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity. On the way over there (I was following at their request), I heard a couple of loud bangs. I figured they had let the wall units fall over. That is exactly what happened. Not only that, they tried to charge me full price for doing it! They had taken two other small pieces that we could have moved ourselves with a little bit of difficulty. I refused to pay over $300 for them busting up the good wall units. They would not compensate me or repair the unit. They said it was because the unit was being donated. To me, that doesn't matter. If I was willing to pay to move it, it obviously had value.

I had used their service many years ago, but I will not be using it again. In the end, they knocked $100 of the bill and I ended up paying them over $200! I thought they should have been paying me! I do not recommend them as they do not use care in strapping items down and are not fair about their resolution to a problem they caused.

My review of 2 Men and A Truck and how they treat senior citizens. I feel my wife of 54 years, 73 years young and myself, me being 75 years old, wouldn't hire them to pick up a lamp from the floor and put it on an end table. Why so cold you may ask as I would. Just a few examples. Before I give you examples let me say my wife and I, we have never hired movers in our life and if this is an example of what movers are like I thank God we never did. I probably could have hired college students for less than the $125.00 an hour and rented a truck and been happier. And actually gotten the stuff put in storage that was supposed to be as well as the stuff put in the apartment that was supposed to be, so now I can hire someone else to correct what your company did wrong!

I thought it was a great idea to disassemble the opening and closing mechanism on the front door to make it easier to bring furniture out to the truck and I thought it would have been an even better idea to have reattached it when they were finished. Another good idea was taking the mirror off my wife's triple dresser since it would have been cumbersome to move it with it still attached but again would have been even better if they would have put it back on like they said they would. I was very impressed when they pretty much saran wrapped all furniture to protect it and even when it was brought to its new destination and I started to take it off was told, "don't worry about it Harry, we'll take care of it". I foolishly believed that statement. My wife completed that task today.

Not much to say about the television that was broken other than, "we'll report that to the company". We have no idea if they have or will. Was told 4 people at 9:00. Again, another great idea. Too bad only 3 showed up. A 4th showed up around noon. This is a continuation of #4. I just got an email with them offering to settle on the television. Trust me, and I have the email. They actually offered me $19.00 for a 39 inch television! Not kidding, $19.00. Tried to make a suitable agreement. By that I mean offering them the deal I was offered. I told them I'd send them $90.00 and they can send me 5, 39" television sets.

Ended up hiring 2 men for $35.00 each for 4 hours and rent a truck, nothing to do with 2 men and a truck, to repack the storage area, moving things from storage area back to where they were supposed to be put in the first place, the apartment, and of course had to move things from the apartment to where they belonged in the storage area. The best part is before they were finished I foolishly gave them each a $25.00 tip. They should have tipped me. Frankly, what's the use. There are several more. You can believe I will list every one of them so hopefully every one of the 25,000 families in the Nall Hills subdivision will read about the service, no disservice is a better word. Along with the many more families in Overland Park, Ks. I am rating them at the lowest I could because it won't allow a no star rating.

My horrible experience: called to schedule my move from a storage unit (which included an upright piano) and a 2-bedroom house. The coordinator said 2 movers and 1 truck would be sufficient. He quoted me a low price. I explained again the move was from 2 locations and he quoted a higher price at a little over $1400. I signed their pre-move letter online (be sure you make a copy of the letter because the company did not send it to me and when I went to retrieve it later to dispute the amount it “mysteriously” was no longer in their system). A few days before the move, a young lady called to confirm the move and I expressed my concern regarding the # of items (150+ boxes and furniture). She had the coordinator call and we added an additional truck and mover with a new quote of a little over $1900 (although I verbally accepted, I never signed or received a copy of this pre-move letter).

Fast forward to move day and only 1 truck and 2 movers arrive at the storage unit. When I questioned them about the 2nd truck and 3rd mover, they assured me they could handle the entire move with them and 1 truck. At 2:45 that afternoon, I was informed they would not be able to move everything. I had to contact the coordinator who apologized for his scheduling mistake and said he couldn’t get another truck out because all the crews had been dismissed for the day. I had to schedule another move for 2 weeks later to accommodate my work schedule (which I later canceled after the first move debacle). The movers scratched my wood floors while moving me out, scratched or dented a large percentage of my furniture and dropped my piano.

At the end of the move, I refused to sign the paperwork because the price listed was $1900 (which was for 3 men and 2 trucks). The next day the company charged me $1603. This amount added to my deposit of $420 is over $2000. The company has since claimed my cost was $1662 (even though they charged me $1603) and refunded $318 which has them charging me $1705. I’ve asked multiple times for supporting documentation of that amount and the documents I signed. They say they don’t have to provide any documentation and basically they can charge what they want because they have my credit card information (which I used for the deposit and they retained without informing me it would be stored and used later).

They also claim I am lying because the coordinator offered me two trucks during my initial consultation, and I refused stating I wanted to stay with one truck. This is the lie! Hopefully sharing my experience will help one or two people avoid my mistakes and steer clear of this company. If the company responds, they will probably claim something along the lines of he said / we said and blame me. If you still decide to use this company with unethical employees and business practices, my advice is to document everything and record every call because you will need it later.

While I was in the middle of filling out the form for a quote, I realized I would be too busy to complete it until later today, so I closed it out and planned to come back later.

Within an hour of closing the website, I received a call from an associate here even though I specified my preferred method of communication was email. Oh well, no biggie. My contract stated I would have a 3 man team but because they were short staffed only 2 were there for the 1st hour. One of their team members had to drop the 3rd member off. As they waited for this team member 1 of the 2 movers mentioned how he was supposed to be off but they called him in last minute. This is just to be clear how short staffed they were. A few hours into the move the team showed me that the truck was full and they didn't have much room for anything else. So he called his Manager, Brittany to advise her of the issue. Once he hung up, I asked "so what's the resolution?" He said "they don't care". So Brittany calls me highly agitated telling me they can't move my refrigerator because it requires them to take the doors off and they can't do that.

I told her that was false because Home Depot removed my front door to bring it in so they still needed to move it. So she wanted to argue about that. At this point I'm pissed because she seems to have an attitude when I'm the one that paid her company to move. Fast forward past the back and forth arguing, my next question is, "How are you going to move the rest of my items." I sold my house and I need to be out of here by 5pm? She goes on to say she needs to "see" if she can get another truck out there and how it was gonna cost extra blah, blah, blah....My response is I don't care about the logistics.

Brittany and I had words and she decided to hang up the phone in my face. What I kept telling her was, "I'm not arguing with someone I paid to do a job, so just GET IT DONE! If I wanted to be this involved in the details I would have moved myself with friends." The point of agreeing to pay a company 1000 plus dollars for a move is to get it done professionally and in a timely manner. Well none of that happen. So, the other truck never came and a lot of large items including my $3000 refrigerator was still left at the property.

So, I had to make arrangements with OpenDoor to RENT my house back for $213 per additional day. I didn't find another moving company to come out until Monday (the original move took place on Sat), I had to pay them $575 for 3 hours and I'll add that they were able to move my refrigerator but just removing the front door to the house and I paid OpenDoor an additional $426 to have the home for 2 more days. On Saturday, I informed 1 of the movers that I wasn't paying the balance of $592 because they didn't complete the job. He called who he needed to call, I tipped him $100 and he left.

Right after he left I called Amex and had them block any additional charges from Two Men And a Truck. After, I was alerted by Amex that the company tried twice to submit the charges I got a call from Two Men And a Truck no apology just a call informing me that they worked 6 hours and needed to be paid. Whomever, the man was that called me could care less that the job wasn't finished, the extra expenses that I incurred nor the fact that his employee hung up on me.

So, he made sure to threaten me with collections and a lawsuit if I didn't pay. I told him I could care less and that I'd be glad to go to court. However, Two Men and a Truck continued to try to charge my account and it eventually went through. Right now, I have a dispute with Amex because they said sometimes companies use different vendors (or something like it) to try to process payments and that's why it was allowed to go through.

So, we'll see how that goes. I was going to let that process handles it's self until I discovered that my $600 Fuji road bike that 2 Men and a truck moved and threw in my garage has a bent frame and the back tire is no longer on the bike. It's not rideable at this point. Prior to discovering this...maybe 3 days after the move I took the shrink wrap off my new Samsung washer/dryer set to find the entire top of the dryer dented. This company is disgusting and should be ashamed of ripping folks off and destroying their property. DO BETTER!

I am just finding a few minutes to write you about my experience with your company. I tried to keep it brief, but there were several issues of concern. I will not be using your company again. The crew arrived at 11:00 am to move a 5000 square foot house. That is unheard of. When I called and was told that crews were not dispatched until 8:00-9:00, I was very upset. Any decent moving company gets started on a large project first thing in the morning. By the time they moved one piece of furniture, the day was half way gone. I did not think to specify an early dispatch, as your office already knew this was going to be a large move with 3 trucks. Ridiculous.

Upon arrival, I was called to give the three trucks the code to our gate. I told them the code, but asked them to please wait for me because I had to make sure the automatic gate locked open and did not close too quickly on their trucks. They did not wait for me. By the time I ran up to my gate they were coming through and the gate closed on first truck and scraped all along the side and got stuck there. The driver’s helper had to get out and, with me, physically wrench the gate open since it was completely stuck. This was dangerous to us since the gate is very strong and the trucks passed within inches of our hands as they went through. No apology was given.

The crew did not know that they were to wrap fine works of art. This was a specific request of mine when I booked service with your company. I was assured that your people would know this needed to be done and would do it correctly. The men had no idea when they arrived and were scratching their heads as they looked at my very large paintings. I guess your crews don’t read their notes before they leave in the morning. Also, in my experience, paintings are wrapped with special padded paper, not just plastic and bubble wrap. They did not have any of this paper, so my art seemed very vulnerable and not treated as fine art should be.

Alex, the team leader, was more concerned with his head phones being tangled than talking to me. When approached, he would respond with “Huh” or “What” and never smiled or had a kind word. At the end of the day, he mumbled something about “taking the stress out of moving day” but that seemed to be required and nothing that he even tried to do. Not the best face to put forward for your company as he is not what you would call a “people person” as it would seem his position requires.

The men had nothing to eat all day. When they asked about food, I told them town was 25 minutes away. This was not an option in their 3 large trucks. Workers need to be fed and to plan on that. I ended up going to Whataburger for them at my expense as they were unloading at 7:00 pm. Upon driving from my home to the storage unit, where all of the unloading was to take place, the trucks did not follow me as instructed. They drove ahead of me down my country road and made a complete wrong turn. I had to chase them and tell them they were going the wrong way. Alex showed me his GPS and said they were going to the address. I told him gps was wrong sometimes and they were NOT going the right way. He was clearly not pleased.

They had to back up, onto the correct country road, since they could not turn around. There was construction going on in that part of the road with road crews. I had to stop traffic myself and other drivers were extremely angry as were the construction crews. This was dangerous for me to do standing in the middle of the road as three large trucks maneuvered to change direction. Just try to picture it, if you can. Upon inspection after the crew left, the wood floors in two rooms had scratches on them from moving the large pieces of furniture. I could not be everywhere to watch them, so only discovered this later.

So I guess that sums up the additional stress of a very stressful day. I did tip the men. I know they tried hard. These are issues I feel compelled to let you know about. The fact that my rate was changed from $360/hour to $345/hour does little to ease the experience of the day. At this point, I cannot ever recommend 2 Men and A Truck to anyone I know. I expect this email will not even matter. Your upper management will not likely see this. You have my money and lots of other work, I am sure. But there are always reviews on the internet. I am not a fan of that, but this experience was so bad, that I am pretty sure I am going to write a review of some sort. I am still trying to wipe the memory of it from my mind.

Two men and a truck were the worst movers I have ever worked with and after 16 years in the military system that’s a lot of moves - maybe 7 or 8 altogether and one was OCONUS to Germany. And again nothing even come close to the Charlie Foxtrot that ensued with Two Men and a Truck. We got off to a bad start when they refused to take apart things like my tables and bookshelves because they told us several times that they were busy and needed to speed things up. I told them that I’d never been involved in a move where my stuff wasn’t broken down otherwise not everything would fit a and the non-broken down items would be more susceptible to damage. And of course I was right with some damage occurring with every piece that was not fully disassembled.

Bottom line they ignored my multiple requests to take everything apart and by the end they were not able to take our several hundred dollar dining room table and chairs as well as our $2000 + German Wardrobe. That alone was infuriating but the worst of it is how they treated our things. To be honest It felt like a violation. For example my framed medical degree that likely cost around 350 to Frame (at least) back in 2005 was found literally wedged between the tailgate of the moving truck and the rest of my items. It was not covered in anything and I’m sure whoever put it in there knew that it would get damaged but it was the end of the day and they were tired.

But yes - It was severely marred and will need to be framed again. They also wrapped the central body of my piano keyboard in a blanket but left the ends exposed. So of course those ends were marred with gauges and paint chipping off. I also implored them to please please please tape the hardware to a ziplock back and tape it to the item so that I know where the hardware is to put everything back together. Whether or not this happened seemed to be more a function who was working at the time and on what since half my items had their hardware taped to them and half did not. In fact, the other half just seemed to throw the hardware literally anywhere.

I have a very high end TV Console for example made entirely of glass and only available in Germany. I paid something like 700 dollars for it back in my single days when all I cared about was having a sweet AV system. I moved with that unit multiple times with no problems but this time there’s was NO HARDWARE TO BE FOUND. Nothing was taped to the unit and no collection of screws that would seem to be a part of it. Turns out we we’re able to find about 50% of the hardware in the bed of the truck after everything was taken out. Just laying on the truck bed. The unfortunate part is that these high end stands are made from proprietary parts and a trip to the hardware store does not fix the problem for you. And so without these vary particularly sized washers and three foot long screws the pieces will just not hold together.

My kids' bikes were just thrown in the top and so the seat got ripped open. I could go on. It’s just one thing after another. Probably the biggest lame-brained move they did was pack the new replacement hardwood that we had just received to fix part of our floor before leaving it for the next tenants. We told the team emphatically. DO. NOT. PACK. THIS. We need it to fix this house after you leave. What did they do? Packed it. Or course. Which left us needing to pay over a hundred dollars if we wanted to send it back.

Now mind you we had other movers before these guys who were even worse. Their packing was terrible, you could tell that they didn’t care and they were teenagers. So I just stopped them and sent them home. They may have packed up maybe 25% of my house prior to their dismissal. But it was only boxes. There was no prepping of furniture or anything big like that. It was just items placed in boxes and - thank god - not much of the boxed items broke.

What did break was the furniture! But guess what? When I submitted my claims picture by picture they said the head office refused to even look at them because that prior agency had done some of our packing and so it’s impossible to tell who did what work. I was like hey I SAW you move my furniture. I saw that you put no packaging around my framed degree. I saw that you took none of my desks or bookshelves apart despite me asking you time after time - and it was these very same bookcases and desks that sustained damage. I even have some video about it. Those other guys didn’t touch the furniture and it’s the furniture that’s the problem.

He said well you also signed a waiver which makes us not liable for any claim you could make against us. I’m like such a claim cannot legally exist and if it did you certainly didn’t tell me about it. But if it does exist please show me. So far he has showed me nothing. Then he changed tactics and told me that “it says here” that you didn’t provide us with enough packing material so that must be why they didn’t pack it safely enough. So you admit it wasn’t packed safely enough! Great! But I would never in a million years tell you to skimp on packing materials. That’s nutty. And in fact my invoice shows that I was charged 500 dollars for packing - so clearly I did my part.

But more importantly I rented 50 blankets from UHaul for extra packing if they needed it and they used a total of 18 blankets. 32 blankets were returned to UHaul because Two Man and a Truck didn’t think they needed them. But they won’t consider our claim because we didn’t provide them enough packing material. Makes sense.

All I can say is that it felt like a violation having our personal possessions treated in this way and when the response is so cold as to suggest that it’s my fault for not providing packing materials or to blame the prior packers even though they didn’t touch the furniture - it’s more than a little enraging. Two Men and a Truck were 100% responsible for negligent treatment of my furniture and they want to do nothing about it. Stay far far away from these guys. They have zero compassion for you of your situation. Not once did someone apologize for what happened or attempt to see why someone in my position might be upset. It was just a flat no with one explanation after another.

This review is for 2 Men & a Truck located in Fletcher, North Carolina. Our job was a two-part move. First, it was moving the bulk items from my home to a local storage facility, then a move 700 miles away to our new residence a month later. My wife and I are 70 & 66, and we packed all the incidentals, clothes, books, dishes, etc, with the idea of reducing our moving costs. We filled one 10 ft storage unit ourselves and rented a second one for the furniture. All that was left was the big stuff, couch, recliner, bedroom, a desk, and 3 TVs. I even gave away all the furniture in our second bedroom. Easy right? There weren't even any appliances.

They gave me a written estimate of between $800 and $1100, which I thought was high to begin with. When the movers came the guy in charge, Dak, took a half-hour explaining things I already knew, or could have read. It took them 3 1/2 hours to unload half a house. When we got to the storage facility I asked Dak how long it would take to unload. He said an hour, hour, and a half. I left to do a few errands and returned an hour later. They had already unloaded all the big furniture (2 man job) and now Dak was at the unit while his helper unloaded everything else himself. Dak would "pack it" and line everything with brown paper which was completely unnecessary as the furniture was already padded and shrink-wrapped. When I questioned him, he said they have to do it. He was very defensive. Dak only left the unit once and that was to get something out of the cab. He didn't help the kid unload anything.

Long story short, it took them over 3 hours to unload and the bill was $1300. Their estimate maxed at $1008 and I thought the minimum, which was $800, was more like it. I refused to sign and Dak put me on with the boss. He refused to lower the price even to the $1100 level. The price is the price he said. I signed for the $1300 and disputed the bill with my cc company. As I was leaving I had to squeeze through a small space as Dak didn't park far enough to the left to give people room to get by. My mirror caught a pole and folded back and then popped forward. As it did that it made a sound and Dak came around from the back of the truck and angrily accused me of hitting his truck. He's a big guy and I'm 70. It was unnerving.

These guys are the worst from the top down to the crew leader. The young man who was the helper was the hardest worker. Good kid. I disputed the bill, agreed to pay $800, and my bank accepted. This was a half-a-day job and should have been scheduled as one. I made it very clear at inception that there was very little left to move other than the furniture so they knew right at the start that they were going to stretch this out and rip the old people off.

Last Thursday Chris came over to give me a quote for both local and interstate. I also asked if they had storage, which he said yes. I told him if I didn't find a place local I'd have to move out of State. In turn store my things till I got the rest of the funds to do a interstate move. His attitude changed when I said that. I am a disabled Marine Veteran. I don't have a lot saved, so would need to check on funding or a loan. He left quickly. I called the office Friday to let them know I forgot to include my storage unit in the quotes. Not once since then did I get a call back. At all. No quotes. Nothing. Pathetic. Just wanted a quote so I could see if I could cover it all or have to get a loan or help.

Obvious this company looks down on people like me. All I said was I may need to get help in funding the move if went Interstate. Apparently Butte County Veteran Services was done wrong also. Read their review on Google. When called the Corporate office in Michigan was told as their way of not getting involved that it was a franchise....

I never write reviews. I am so outraged and disgusted with my move experience and subsequent customer service. I hope this can prevent even one person from having this headache. I did a small and in-town move from North Dallas to Dallas. Going from a 2 bedroom condo to a 2 bedroom condo. The job was estimated to take 3-5 hours, it took 10. The two boys (very young men) complained the entire time about the steps in our new home. They dragged boxes along our new wood floor, and were not outfitted or prepared for the job (they also took off their masks despite multiple requests to keep them on). You hire movers so you don’t have to deal with the added labor/stress. You hire professionals so they can come in with some hustle and take care of you. This was not the case.

We could go on for pages – but in essence 1) they didn’t complete the move (they had to leave items at the old home because there was not enough room). 2) they self-admitted forgot the hand trollies and moving equipment that would have saved us hours (time and money), 3) they were not in shape or physically capable of handling a small move within a reasonable amount of time. But -- the job was done. Now the real fun begins for us. I was contacted with a survey to which I replied “No, I wouldn’t recommend.” I was immediately contacted same day. Heard. Treated with respect. Excellent care and consideration. Without solicitation, I was offered a small partial credit to offset our awful experience. Hush money – fine. The move was beyond terrible but they cared, apologized, and were rectifying the situation as best they could.

The next day I got a second, very aggressive call, saying the customer service person I spoke with was “unauthorized” and we are “getting nothing.” He then hung up on me. Again, we never asked for anything, only completed an honest survey. Color us perplexed and amazed at what just transpired. My realtor, who referred us, called his rep in the company and escalated this matter. The following week I got a call from a regional manager who seemed to care, again, and he was going to “take care of this”. Another week later he called me back, aggressive, and said “nothing would be done” and also threw in, “What do you want from us?”. Again, this was all unsolicited by us, the clients who got the worst move ever.

This company not only provided a terrible move, but then took us on a bipolar rollercoaster of multiple calls and promises, and ongoing offer retractions. We have whiplash from these conversations and lack of actual action to resolve. We have never experienced anything like this. Terrible move, wasted time, multiple (unsolicited) conversations that would turn aggressive. There is nothing logical about the situation, very bizarre handling, top to bottom. Terrible experience, subsequent unethical behavior, horrendous service and lack of care. Never again. Save yourself the trouble. Use a different company. Get real movers.

The two men who came were aware of the items I was transporting and did not believe I was above the amount I listed... but then charged me hundreds of dollars for their inefficiency! They also broke a lovely shelving unit. It took them 40 minutes to back their truck into the spot to unload while the superintendent of the building kept telling them to go around the corner! They damaged a piece of glass at the entrance to the apartment building and got the management mad and wasted time calling their dispatcher because of that.

They forgot something at the original residence (their "TLC bag") and wasted time returning there to pick it up. All this ended up costing me, the customer, hundreds of dollars extra. My suggestion is beware! Don't use them. What they agree to is just on paper, they will go after you later. Since I paid my bill in full when the movers left and they said they will only charge me for the six hours, I considered the move complete. Now they are threatening me with a collection agency. The one in Memphis charged me $100 for the appointment then the movers came with a big truck even though I only hired for them to load a van. The movers made an excuse because they could not park the big truck in a hotel parking lot; did not wear mask and ended up leaving and not helping. I called the one in Nashville again after I found another mover through U-Haul to help to load the van. The employee in Nashville was as previously very helpful and professional in advising me what I need to do to pack my things then prepare to move a long distance.

There was a miscommunication between the owner of Two Men and a Truck and myself, or so I am led to believe. I was under the impression that I was scheduled for a moving date which was typed on the written estimate. Nowhere on the written estimate does it indicate that a deposit was necessary or even to confirm the date. It would be assumed that we were scheduled after the owner arrived to assess the items to be moved and verbally choosing a date. When I followed up a few days later to confirm the date, I was told by the owner, who came to see the items and verbally committed to a date that that date was no longer available. I was incredulous. How could the date not be saved? Do these people not realize that customers rely on hard dates when moving? Nonetheless, why would the owner not follow-up first with a potential customer before giving away the date that was committed to? This is the wrong way to conduct an operation.

The salesman grossly overestimated our needs and gave a gave us an over-priced quote. While the actually movers were pleasant people, they broke one leg off an antique chest, squeezed and crushed the screen on a wide TV, and manhandled and damaged our $1500 motorized bed frame that worked perfectly the morning they picked it up. Then came weeks of arguing back and forth with an unpleasant service person who basically claimed we were liars, and told me to try the suggestions made by the Manufacturer to change the batteries in the remote and follow the Manufacturers video on YouTube (Both of which we tried repeatedly). It was obvious that they had pulled on the power supply wire and tore the sheathing (at the very least) from the control unit.

So they are sending me a check for $65.20 to cover the chest leg and fractured wide Screen TV, and nothing for the bed frame, claiming it is "heresy" (their word - not mine) to suggest something happened during transit. Stay away from this company. There is a reason they only get 1.7 stars. Too many people feel guilty and give them "2's".

In any business transaction, I understand things can go wrong. So I do not expect perfection in business, but I do expect timely and courteous responses when something goes wrong. This is where Two Men and a Truck failed miserably. I won't go into the litany of damage done, but I think it's important to note they took pictures of the damage themselves, but somehow those were lost. So the burden was on us to demonstrate the damage. I waited for days just to get a claim form. Once I submitted the form, no response for over a week. They finally responded to say they had turned our case over to a third-party adjuster. When that adjuster never contacted us, I asked them to reach out to them again. Allegedly, they did, but I've still heard nothing.

We moved on over a month ago, and I'm no closer to getting this resolved. When this is compounded by poor customer service when I tried to get wardrobe boxes from them and the fact I had to pay for more hours of service because they failed to clean up after themselves (i.e. fold the moving pads as they went), I would advise anyone to avoid this company even for a simple local move.

But 3 weeks later, 10+ Calls later and still no new stand. I finally just gave up and bought a cheap wall mount from Amazon.... I tipped these guys $60, wish I hadn't since I could have used that to replace my stand.... Yes I called tons of times and they responded (or didn't respond at all) with let me look into that, I will have someone call you back, so and so isn't in the office... finally the second week someone called to say they weren't sure if they broke the stand or the whole TV and needed someone to come look at it... during business hours (I work too and you already took up 2 weeks of my time)... a week later from today 9/10/20 and still nothing.

On top of that they completely took my son's toddler bed apart when all they had to do was remove one end... I know this because the last time I used Two Men and a Truck, that's exactly what they did... So when I went to put the bed back together... missing screws.. Anyways, that could have been avoided if I had taken the piece off myself, so my bad on that one. They would have received 4 stars if they just owned up to their mistake and replaced or reimbursed me for the TV stand the first week at least from the move...

Set up a move in Atlanta, GA and the experience was a complete nightmare. Two days before the move, company calls to confirm the date and automatically take out the deposit amount from my account. On the day of the move, movers were suppose to show up between 11am-12pm. Around 11:30am, gave the company a call and they informed that they were going to get in contact with the driver. Driver calls back 20 minutes later and states that they were going to be an hour late because they were completing another company job. Once I called the company in GA, they acted as if they were blind to the situation. Once the movers showed up, they had looked to be intoxicated and were trying to leave some of my belongings in the storage unit because they claimed it wasn't in "perfect condition". The movers tried to take their time when it should of been a quick process because most things were already loaded onto the car and were disposed of.

On the way to the new house, the movers were following us and at the corner of the intersection to go towards the house, they had taken a detour and were nowhere to be found. Gave the movers a call and they did not answer, finally they called back 10 minutes later and said that they were "at the gas station". Did not show up to my house for 40 minutes when the gas station is only a 3 minute drive from the house. Movers finally came and unloaded everything unprofessionally and I noticed I was missing various items that originally should have been there.

How is it that a company that is suppose to be reputable have these types of employees? They need to do better in drug screening, alcohol screening and drug checks as well. They were extremely quick to withdraw the money from my account but cannot perform the service that one pays them to perform. I do not recommend them to anyone and I would tell individuals to save their money and go with movers that actually care about providing exceptional service.

While one admitted it was his first day, the other two seemed as if they'd worked together on previous moves. They took less time than originally quoted (a positive); however, when I went to check the truck at the end of the job, I found many boxes that were clearly labeled with "Up" and upward facing arrows lying on their sides, boxes tilted sideways, lighter boxes crushed underneath heavier boxes, and damage to the legs of at least two of my pieces of furniture. I provided blankets to use with the furniture, yet they were balled up in the corner, haphazardly covering some artwork.

Clearly these gentlemen did not care or have the experience/training to organize in a professional manner. After the movers departed, I spent time rearranging items to relieve some of the pressure from crushed boxes and to be able to close the rolling truck door. My Aunt has paid everything in advance to move all our furniture. At the time she moved the furniture to the storage unit with Two Men, their company was pressed for time in Sulphur because they had to move more furniture to my Aunt's house in Houston. Thus no furniture got to be assessed for damage. And my Aunt was in Houston. She never knew our antique furniture from grandma was scratched all up by the way they moved it and stacked chairs in the table with metal, as well as scratching a China cabinet with its mirror laying on it from the screws on the back side of it. This was over a month ago and my family did not know the furniture was there being kept for the estate legal stuff being handled until yesterday August 6th, 2020. No one had entered the storage facility until then and the attorney had the keys the whole month til Aug 6th. Upon my dad’s entering the storage he saw how they stacked the furniture and the damage.

On Aug 6, I set up the time to have my furniture delivered to me at my house. This company does not pay attention to the customer fully on details. I had to tell them my address, my name, and the address of the storage to them 5 times and they still got it wrong on Aug 7, the move day. My Aunt had paid in July in advance a huge check to move our stuff. They said I owed money. I needed to put a deposit down. I explained again. They searched their stuff finally. But said I would still owe money. I gave them the receipt number of the check and what the time was allotted for and Kale still stated if I go over 2 hours I would still owe a lot of money. I said I only live 7 minutes away. If you can’t move one sofa, one cabinet, and 3 small chairs there’s an problem.

They set the time for 11am Aug 7, then they had to change it to 3 pm Aug 7. The storages closes at 4:30 so I said we need it earlier. We went back to 11am with Matt. Still my address and the storage address were the wrong addresses. Then they called again, Kale changed it to 1pm and said it may not be til 3 or so when they get there. They found my receipt info finally and said it was all pd but I would still owe if it went over 2 hours. Aug 7 th came. They went to A1 storage instead of City Storage which by this time had been put in their computer system at minimum 6 times. So it took them 30 minutes to get to us from Beglis Parkway.

When they go there, it was two young men. I had to tell them 3 or 4 times what was being moved. Finally they went to the truck and sat in it for 10 minutes. I asked when is my furniture being moved. They said they were talking to their boss. Then they went to the back of the truck to get the covers and plastic. Over 5 more minutes. Finally they come in to move the stuff and start the cover and wrap the sofa. That took forever then my dad addressed the scratches from the other move and they called Kale the boss. He told them to take pictures for the claim.

Then 5 minutes later Kale calls and said he can’t do a claim since the move was almost a month ago to the storage and he did not know who all had been in the storage facility. We told him no one and there were cameras to prove it. The first we knew about the furniture being there was Aug 6 we told him. He still refused. Said he would not accommodate or help us. My dad explained everything to him and Kale was impossible to come to an agreement with. He decided to shut everything down. Said he was sending the money back to my Aunt which we will not get now to move all this furniture.

They have a bad customer relationship because they do not listen to the customer. They do what they want to do and do not compromise. They have insurance but do not want to use it on damages they did. They try to extend your time so you are stuck paying more money than you already spent. I give them a negative 10 rating. They need to fix their customer relationship attitudes.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! Seriously, as many others have probably said, I truly wish I could do negative stars. Long story short, basically they're beyond terrible. Someone could kill my entire family and I would not recommend this company to them. They lost things (some irreplaceable things like an art piece that had huge sentimental value that could never be replaced because it was made of old items from traveling journeys and such), damaged literally about 80% of our items and may I add these items had been bought within the last year, they pulled extortion (bait and switch tactic - they had packed up all of our things, waited until we were across the country then informed us that our things wouldn't fit and we would have to pay an additional $3400 than what we planned/were told. They said that we must pay or they'd keep our stuff), they did not contact us AT ALL after they told us they didn't know where our stuff was (yeah, I know, right? They dropped that bomb and then pointed fingers at which franchise's fault it was and no one called us back....we had to call three times a day, every day for WEEKS), and then delivered our stuff about a late....

We had to sleep on an air mattress in an empty home for an additional 2 weeks. Please tell me how you'd feel because my lord I was ready to do things I shouldn't type on the internet because the FBI will show up at my door and I'll get in more trouble than the company who stole, lost, and damaged my items, so use your imagination.

So imagine dealing with them trying to pull more money out of you AFTER you literally suggested sacrificing your $1200 couch to save room (they first said that's "all" we had to do to keep our stuff in our original planned out 3 pods that were paid for....like imagine sacrificing your couch to just be done with them and never know that was only the beginning...) and then about a WEEK later (aka they didn't ship it though they were supposed to immediately) they still said you owed $3400 because whoever told you the couch would solve the problem didn't know what they were talking about and that the 3 pods now needed to be 5 pods....

Then imagine sorting out all of THAT bull and sacrificing money (we didn't have to pay the 3400 because we told them they were literally doing something illegal but lost $700 still), waiting WEEKS, and you're so happy to get your stuff that it feels like Christmas morning and then..... most of it is broken. I am saying literally everything I did not pack myself was broken (e.g., shattered vanity mirror [1 year old], torn leather couch [1 year old], torn leather recliner [1 year old], damaged [brand new] keyboard/piano, damaged and missing art piece ranging from $100-$4000, boxes completely crushed down, broken nightstand [1 year old], etc etc.).

There is a lot more detail to this story but honestly I will save you the read because I think you get the point. Terrible service, terrible customer service, terrible everything. DO. NOT. USE. THEIR. SERVICES. So like normal people, we were pretty upset. We contacted them (California), headquarters, and the Chicago location (I will be writing reviews for them as well if I can). NONE of the locations, including headquarters, said it was their fault. They all pointed fingers at each other. No one will do anything. We made an extremely organized excel document stating we just wanted our stuff fixed and/or money sent in for the damaged goods that could not be repaired so we could replace them. We put up the links showing the prices of each item to show we were not exaggerating the cost by any means.

We explained everything that had happened and just simply wanted our stuff fixed. We had the plan that replaced up to $16,000 full. We literally only asked for $3,700 (amount to replace everything broken) which was SO generous on our behalf because my god lets be real. Guess what they responded with....they would only cover $1,500. I am not kidding. After everything. They thought $1,500 was okay. Please. Imagine this. Tell me how you'd feel. We obviously disputed it and questioned why they felt that was fair. We then grew pretty upset (obviously) and implored them to reconsider. They did not and said $1,500 was fair….Needless to say we will be taking them to court.

We were left with our entire house packed up and our lease ending that day with no options. This company is absolute garbage. Don't bother scheduling a move with them unless you want to be up a creek without a paddle at the last second.

We hired Two Men and a Truck to pack one day and then load the next day. We hired another company to drive the trucks to our new location and to store them until we found a house. When we finally found a house and the trailers arrived, we were shocked at what we found! The company we hired to unload at our new location opened the truck and removed the bulkhead to see a jumbled mess of furniture toppled on top each other. We were all in disbelief!! The guys from the other moving company said they had never seen anything like it! They said they obviously did not load it right, that should never happen!

After unloading and unpacking, I made a list of things that had been damaged along with pictures taken as we unloaded the trucks. I called Two Men and a Truck and they said to send the pictures and they would look at it. The manager's name was Mike and he said to give him a little time to talk to the guys who loaded the trucks and to look at the pictures. I gave him a week. When I called back, the person who answered the phone said Mike no longer works here. He gave me the name of the new manager, Landon. He was always unavailable and did not call me back. Finally, he took my call and asked me to send the pictures again to his email, which I did. I called him a couple more times after waiting a couple days and he was not available and did not call me back. Finally, I spoke to him and he said they could not do anything because the truck was "out of their hands, anything could have happened to it".

One of the movers we interviewed before our move, United Van Lines, told me that they pack things tight so there is very little movement. He told me the story of one of their trucks being in an accident and rolling down a hill. He said not one thing was broken when they opened the truck. So, the fact that Landon said, "who knows what happened on the way to your new location, they could have hit some bumps"... is just a joke and proof that this company DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!

Not only did they not load the truck properly, it cost us more money because we had to pay by the amount of space that was used in the trailer. If it was packed tightly and the bulkhead was then installed, there should have been no movement and less space in the truck would have been used. This company is only out to make money....they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! If you value your belongings... DON'T hire them, hire United Van Lines.... I wish we did! (I did not want to give any stars, but it was required to give one.)

We are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We have broken antiques. They packed glass items with a hammer in the box. They refused to take notes on what I was saying. Poor communication. They refused to move part because their truck was full and even with a virtual tour they had poor planning. I had to obtain a truck today to finish my move on my own. I used them 15 years and they were awesome. This is not the same company. I repeatedly called the manager because the three televisions we have we not find cords for and the fourth Television Is missing. I have left repeated calls and no manager has returned them. Never use this nightmare company.

They also only label some boxes and then put them in the wrong rooms. You might as well do your own move. At least your possessions are not broken. I would have waited to write the worst review I have ever written in my life but the manager never returned our call. I am making a national complaint today. I will then make a complaint with the better business bureau. Then I will have my payment on my visa returned unless they make good in this. The movers ran away and said, ”Get the ** in the truck and drive away fast before she asks us to do anything else." They left at three the day before when they were supposed to be there until 5. They jumped into the truck swearing at 4. Our beautiful home we were moving into was supposed to be a celebration and they have made it a nightmare. I called their supervisor (Clayton **) to inform him of the situation. He then called the owner of the Kissimmee location (Jonathan **) who instructed his guys to cancel the job immediately because they knew they messed up BAD! They then unloaded all my belongings from the truck, and dropped them in my oil stained garage and left!!! At all cost, AVOID two men and a truck. We used Two Men And A Truck in Alpharetta, GA for a local move a few months ago. Not completely satisfied with the moving service. One Word - Inefficient.

Two men were assigned to move furniture and boxes. While they did all the heavy lifting, I did not appreciate the time it took for them to complete the job. Actually, they did not complete the move within the 6 hours that was quoted based on volume and weight. The guys took their time.

One of the guys was not focused at the task at hand that he found time for small talk. The same guy took 30 minutes disassembling and 30 minutes assembling a dining table. It was unnecessary and took time away helping the other guy with moving. The other guy broke one of the furniture pieces when it was unloaded in the new house. Instead of being accountable for the damage, they blamed the furniture for being cheap and low-quality. Lost time arguing about whose fault it was. Not only were we left with the task of moving the items left behind in the old house, we also had to wait for two weeks for the damage check to be issued. We will not use Two Men and a Truck for our future moving needs.

I hired Two Men And A Truck on February 28th from the Mt. Kisco location and from start to finish. It was a horrible experience. I moved my mom who lives in a one bedroom apartment and she was moving to another one bedroom apartment about 6 blocks away. The two movers arrived unprepared. They did not have any tools on them to disassemble the furniture. When we questioned this they mentioned that their company does not provide tools. My middle age mom had to provide basic screwdrivers and allen keys in order for them to complete this task. The movers asked my sister who just came off a recent c-section if she could take care of removing the TV off the stand, which was RIDICULOUS! These guys were so slow that my sister had to assist them in disassembling the dining room table and assist them. She also assisted in assembling the furniture at the new location.

The movers arrived at 9:30am and were completed by 7:00pm, there were times that my sister would go looking for them and they were not on the truck or anywhere, which clearly they were taking too many breaks to slow down the process. They blamed the elevator as we were on the 19th floor yet the new location there was a dedicated elevator going up to the 2nd floor. The hours for a one bedroom move simply does not add up! The movers also did not advise us that another mover was required for this project to help speed things up. I escalated the issue of excessive time to complete the move, the lack of tools and the manager (Milton) argued with me the entire time. He lacks customer service skills and basically supported whatever lies his movers shared with him. The movers and manager were completely unprofessional.

Lastly, the movers also advised us that the insurance was not necessary, so we opted out of it then they ended up destroying my mom's credenza. We made a claim after the move and it was denied. I would stay away from this company. They don't deserve to be in business. I was quoted $600-800 and based on the amount of hours it took to complete such a simple move it totaled to $1,500. I had to fight with Milton to get it down to $1,155. It was a horrible experience!!! It was literally the WORST move company I ever dealt with. You will be sorry if you use them. The whole experience was BAD!! Stay away from this company!

My move occurred in November 2019 and it was one of the worst moves ever. I have moved around the country with no issues but somehow going :40 minutes away seemed too much for this company. It started with the team leader who started grumbling because we had them do some packing. The packing was haphazard and because of that we wound up with many items broken. Then as they started delivering items to our new home they didn't have any more mats and didn't have any padding for the for the banisters or doors. This lead to lots of nicks, scrapes, and scratches to the trim, doors and drywall as well as dirty white carpeting. FYI- the home had been freshly painted and carpets cleaned before we moved in.

Then when they were bringing in a large armoire that was purchased for $4000. They broke the foot off and now we have rigged up so it won't fall over. In order to get the armoire in the house, they took the garage man door off. When they were going back to the old house for another load they propped it up. Of course they forgot it was propped up and the door slammed on the ground. Putting a gouge in the wood floors and completely damaging the door lockset beyond repair.

In addition, they randomly left things out on the back patio without telling us in the middle of winter, left about 10% of our household items at the old house, threw anything they delivered later in the evening randomly into the garage and started to get a very "who cares" attitude late in the day. To top it off they broke my 11 year old daughter's snow globe without telling us. I found out about it when I found broken glass from it on a bookshelf & in the carpet. The snow globe was nowhere in sight. So later that night I was lucky enough to clean up broken glass & explain to my daughter how the snow globe, which was a present from her grandmother, was now broken.

Worst of all was Justin, their million dollar sales club winner, who completely underestimated the job. This added to the stress of his workers because they had a very long day and added to the stress of my family who had to get a young girl to school in the morning. Then as they are telling us that we owe them additional $1546.18 at 10 PM at night they pull out the scare tactics. The entire crew stood around my husband in the kitchen as he discussed with Mike the increase in our bill. Mike would not leave until we put the entire amount on our credit card. He said to call Brandon, the manager to have him reduce the bill the next day. Of course, Brandon refused to reduce the bill and was very rude.

So all in all we got to pay more for a million dollar sales person to underestimate our job, for the crew to show up without the proper equipment, for items to be damaged, our home to be damaged, to listen to infighting of the crew on how best to move items, inefficient use of manpower & trucks and then to be intimidated in our own house. Though we did agree to pay them for some additional time for packing, they decided what was fair for the damages and just credited it back to card without our agreement. It wasn't nearly enough for the damages that were caused and headaches they caused.

Funny part is we paid more for their terrible service than we would've paid for the full service movers we were going to go with. And just to be decent people we fed the crew & even tipped them because we felt they were put in a no win situation. Don't be fooled by their low estimates, and their catchy slogan about "treating you like they would treat their own grandmother". I wouldn't treat my worst enemy this poorly!!

WARNING! SOME ADVICE! DO NOT hire Two Men and a Truck as your moving company, due to the fact that the entire company is corrupt and incompetent! They may falsely accuse your current residence of having a serious issue, such as bed bugs, which is FALSE! Employees with the company will state that they took pictures with a smart phone of this evidence, although you will not be present at the time, which makes the evidence FALSE! The employees, ALSO CANNOT show you evidence of an issue with your current residence in person, which makes the issue FALSE! Bed bugs are supposed to bite you at night when you are sleeping, and leave red marks all over your body. If you do not have these marks, this makes the evidence FALSE that the company accused you of having in your residence.

When you tell the truth in regards to the company's horrible customer service, corporate will state that they have a 96% referral rate, which is most likely FALSE! If you report the company to the Better Business Bureau, they will not respond to the complaint until six days after the deadline they are supposed to respond, therefore, what they stated was wrong with your previous residence is FALSE, due to the fact that they need extra time to respond to a complaint with a good “made up” story. The employees will also charge you $555.00 to move eight items from one residence to another residence approximately five miles in distance away from each other. Your moving assistance from the company will then be canceled.

Bed bugs actually tend to “leap” from one surface to another, therefore if someone that previously moved with the company did indeed have bed bugs and their items were loaded on a moving truck and you decide to move with the company, your residence may become invested with bed bugs. Once again, DO NOT hire Two Men and a Truck to be your moving company!!

I asked to buy their insurance but they said it was too new and would not sell any ins to me. I was also told not to worry, that they wrap fridges in padded blankets and fridge would be fine. But it wasn't fine. They scratched the whole front of the fridge. Light scratches but very visible. I called 2men/trk and they said they would fix it even if I did not have ins. They sent a man out to look at fridge and he said he could order a compound to use and he would fix the scratches. This happened in Aug/Sept. I did not call 2men/trk back because I thought I would have them fix this after I had moved into house so as to not bother the residents that live there.

So a few days ago I did call 2men/trk to get an estimate on moving and check about the refrigerator. I talked to Charles and he told me twice, no they are not going to fix it because I did not buy ins. I told him I was told that they would. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT USE TWO MEN AND A TRUCK! I can't say enough what a miserable experience using them has been. I should have read the reviews prior to hiring them. Now, I am going to do everything I can to help ruin an already tarnished reputation. I was looking forward to using a moving company and giving myself a break. Unfortunately, this move was the hardest I have ever experienced.

My husband and I had to work 14 grueling hours alongside the 2 inexperienced (2 weeks on the job), ill-equipped (no shoulder dollies and broken ramp holder), undertrained movers they sent to us. It took them 6 hours longer than estimated due to the above factors. Poor packing of the truck ensured that our 1400 sq ft house did not fit in 2 loads. At 11:30 that night, we called it quits and had to go back the next day to get the 3rd load ourselves. Their lack of training resulted in 12 boxes being dropped on the bricks. We have been compensated for that (the only good thing I can say).

At the end of the night we signed where we were told to just to be done, but I refused to pay the outrageous $2,000 bill they presented to us as it was not our fault this move took so long. I paid the highest amount on the estimate believing I was still paying too much. I tried to work with the Denver franchise about giving us a reasonable refund which resulted in them taking the unpaid balance from the debit card we gave to reserve the truck. They refuse to acknowledge that the move took too long and give us any refund because we signed the fine print. It doesn't matter to them what the circumstances were...we signed is their only response. We would have been better off having friends and family move us for pizza & beer. Two Men and a Truck are not "movers who care", they are Two Men and a Truck, who don't give a **.

I had to call manager 3 times cause I didn't know I would have to babysit movers. I did not trust them alone it was evident they did not want to be working they wanted to break my banister to get a price of furniture down stairs. Stupids got stuck in my hallway for 40 mins eventually the manager came and assisted but he was a total clown too. I regret hiring them and if you think they gonna pay for damage they did. You're out of your mind. They will give you the runaround.

THIS COMPANY IS JUST AWFUL! DO NOT USE THEM! I booked these people because they told me that they would be able to disassemble my couch, move it to the new apartment, and then reassemble it there. Once the movers got there, I was informed that they would not be able to take the couch apart and instead, referred me to another company to come and do it for me, costing me even more money. I immediately called the 2 Men and a Truck and asked for clarification because I was promised that they would move my couch, included with all of my other belongings. I was quickly connected to the manager with my complaint where I was told that there was a miscommunication on my end and that I did not explain clearly enough when I told them that I had a three seater sofa that was built in my apartment because of the size of it.

They made the ASSUMPTION that my couch was a sectional based on that explanation and promised me three times that they would be able to move that for me. I explained to the manager that I was promised that the couch would be moved, and now, the day of the move, I am being told that it is impossible and to spend more money to go and hire another company to come in to disassemble and move the couch. Not only was this incredibly frustrating, but, in my opinion, extremely rude. The manager even said during our time on the phone that if he was the one who took my call when I booked their service, he would have asked to make sure it was a sectional couch and that the fact it wasn't asked when I called was a "miscommunication".

The manager told me that instead of going back and forth with me, he was going to talk to his manager, and see if there was anything that could be done and that either himself or the person he was going to talk to would get back to me. Now, one week after the move, I am still waiting for that call and am thinking it was just a way to get me to stop complaining.

The unprofessionalism regarding this company is astonishing and it should be known that, even though their slogan is "The movers that care", they quite honestly do NOT care about you at all. They just want to make as much money as they can possibly make, even if it is at the expense of the person moving. And on top of this, if it could not be any worse at all, my phone charger, which was plugged in at the time of the move, was STOLEN. This company is truly awful and I beg of you, do not make the same mistake that I made. Find a different moving company if you ever need to move. If you choose 2 Men and a Truck, you will be left with a headache, a couch, and stolen items.

The job was quoted and the price exceeded that considerably. They dropped furniture down the stairs. Manager came to investigate why the move was taking so long and was very rude. Pieces of furniture were put back together with parts leftover. We had to move a trailer full of boxes on our own. There were issues with the damage that we didn't initially photograph, but we thought that we would have the opportunity to speak with the refinisher again. That didn't happen. The refinisher was the bright spot in the experience! The company response was that we waited too long to contact them. They were unable to handle this level of moving. I thought the company would follow through to see how the process was going. That didn't happen. Bad customer service is bad customer service!

AVOID. If you care about the items you are having moved do not use this service. There is a reason this company only has 2.5 stars. I am all about positive feedback when it is deserved but also don't want anyone to have to deal with what I did during my move. Long story short my movers showed up (I was sold on 3 instead of 2 to cut time back and save money they said). They sent one hard working guy with two that were slow as could be and complained the entire time. I'm sorry but I don't walk into work and complain or else I don't get paid. So great we will look beyond their lack of professionalism because the price seemed somewhat fair at the time. After watching them move the price was not fair at all. I would have been better off going to FAU asking a few guys to help me out for what I paid and dealt with.

NOW after my move it's been two months. They damaged a couple items main item being my new upholstered headboard. They did not wrap this item or carry this item to avoid dragging it the water and left water damage, hand prints and dirt marks that WERE NOT there before. Again, basic moving knowledge, keep the clients items the way they were before you touched them right? So now I am dealing with the claims department that says they are doing me a favor by sending a third party out to fix it. The third party came out and could NOT repair the damage the movers did. I am told that is all they can do because they have already paid a third party to try and fix the damage. Working with this company is exhausting. Do yourself a favor and find professionals that care.

Initially I was told by the claim's specialist that they were not going to do anything about my damages claim because I was submitting the damages claim after their 4-day window. However after numerous phone call attempts, I was able to speak with a manager at Two Men & a Truck about my damages from the move. She apologized and asked me to send photos of the damages. I was told that they would have a furniture repair man come out to fix the damaged furniture. I am grateful that Two Men & a Truck sent the furniture repair man. However, my 2 year old recliner was damaged structurally and they refuse to pay to fix that.

I was told by the claim's specialist and the manager that they would put the employees who moved my furniture through another training. That may help future movers but obviously the initial training these employees received failed and the Grandma Rule was not in effect for my move with all the furniture that was damaged! Therefore, I will give them 2 stars for finally responding and sending the repair man. Because of the extent of my furniture damage from the move, the company does not deserve a higher star rating.

    Original Review: Sept. 19, 2019

They moved my furniture across the street and two houses down. They wrapped the furniture with a few strands of saran wrap and failed to cover the furniture in blankets for protection. They damaged almost every piece of furniture I have. Some with large and deep scrapes as well as breaking a custom glass for my desktop. I did not know I only had four days to submit a claim. Since I called after the four day to inform them of the extreme damage to my furniture the response I got was "we can't do anything about it now." So now I am left with multiple pieces of furniture around my house with damage and they refuse to repair it. Don't use Two Men And A Truck if you care about your furniture and possessions. You will make a terrible mistake and regret it. Never again will I use them or refer them. Their Grandma Rule is a bunch of lies. Find another moving company that will protect your possessions.

Movers were pleasant but slow, obviously inexperienced (I had to get on the floor and help adjust a dolly) & did not have proper equipment for moving large furniture pieces. They had no lift straps, no appliance dollies, and no tie downs to secure furniture in the truck. As a result my brand new wood floor sustained deep scratches over 2 feet long and my furniture was scraped as it was shoved through a doorway.

They arrived in a very large box truck, (no shock absorbers like a moving van would have) then instead padding and laying my large headboard on the floor of the truck, they stood it up on one side of the truck and secured it with BUNGEE cords that OF COURSE, did not hold it in place. It fell over in transport (a drive that took me 45 minutes and the truck 1 1/2 hours) resulting in severely damaging the oak headboard, and breaking a decorative metal piece that was welded on the top completely off AND putting a large hole in the armoire that it crashed into. I was charged for twice the amount of time estimated and after contacting the office manager was given a ridiculously low credit (approx. $250) for the amount of damage done to my expensive Bob Timberlake furniture by Lexington. I will NEVER use Two Men and a Truck again!

We were pleased with the three young fellows that did the work. A little late arriving but they more than made up for it. We went with this company as they were the only ones to actually physically come out and quote. They neglected to tell me they charge from the moment they got in the truck so was an additional 2 hours than quoted. What has got my goat is the fact I let them use my new folding step stool but they took it with them when they left. I phoned the company as soon as I realized it was missing. The young lady on the phone was not very accommodating. Didn't hear back as promised, I called again. They said they had no record of my call. I asked if they planned on replacing it. They told me there was a $150.00 deductible. If they were apologetic and were actually trying to find it I probably wouldn't pursue the issue. But like I said, it's the principle.

I was charged almost $800 for the move. I was expecting 2 movers. Three showed up, but at least 1 was in training, per the driver. A lot of time was spent teaching the new guy how to wrap, how to lift, how to move the object, etc. They moved so slow. Even once they got a box or whatever to the truck. They had to discuss it on where it should go. They were constantly rearranging things in the truck. The office didn't offer any apologies or concessions.

Absolutely horrible. All they care about is making money, not doing what is right. When I called I was told ALL employees have background checks performed, yet a felon showed up. I live in military housing therefore he was not allowed and delayed the move by over 3 hours. The move was not able to be completed, because I had to go to work and the delay caused by a felon showing up.

They agreed to come back Saturday to finish, but I had to pay. I was initially told it would be free. Not much better service on Saturday. The watch commander had to grant permission to another mover. Another hour wasted. Then the lift broke so my husband had to use his jack to lift stuff up on the truck. With all theses delays they were not able to move every thing on the list we agreed upon. We had to rent a U-Haul truck. Yes there were more things initially, but we had an agreed list for Saturday that they did not complete. At the house we moved into, they tore the plaster off my wall, damaged my banister, broke a glass top, scratched and shattered multiple pieces of my Pottery Barn Wooden Storage Unit.

We have been trying to get damaged at least for the vase and one piece of furniture that is unsalvageable, and they stood us up 4-5 times for an “inspection”. After 3 months of following up, we received an offer to get paid less than what the vase costs, completely disrespectful. Gave office staff accurate info on large size of house and items to be moved. They sent two trucks and 6 movers. First, they arrived 3 hours late (trouble filling up trucks with gas, traffic, etc.) Then, size of crew was not enough for job. They left my old home at 6pm, had to stop for dinner, and didn't arrive at new home until almost 9pm. Just prior to their arrival, the manager, FRED, called and said it was late and they had many jobs the next day, so they were going to take our items to a storage facility and return THE NEXT MORNING with our stuff.

After I made it clear that we had no place to sleep without our furniture, he gave in and said they could empty one truck. I made it even more clear to the movers that they were not leaving my new residence without unloading my belongings. Our family of four moved many boxes and rugs and furniture ourselves off the truck, many items were broken, and they did not finish until 2AM!!! This concluded with them charging us $2000 more than our highest quoted price. DO NOT USE this company. Still waiting on how damaged walls in both residences and broken items will be addressed (Won't hold my breath!).
