Amerisafe has reached out to me to resolve the issue.
Original Review: April 9, 2024
Amerisafe Moving Services is just a broker. They quoted incorrectly and never communicated this or that it would be a longer delivery time as the carrier would have to wait until the truck was full, or the 6% credit card fee but the most unhelpful was that they would only accept specific payment methods (cash, Postal money order or Zelle) for the last balance due! As a company that does not deal with cash, it is extremely inconvenient. Will not recommend using them!

They had the right tools, knowledge and strength needed. I picked AmeriSafe Moving a second time because I required a free-standing electric fireplace with mantle kit put together and I am so happy that I called them! The kit NEEDED two men TO TRANSFER the boxes upstairs and to get together. I also had 4 large, heavy, area rugs to be convey upstairs and some heavy, inconvenient furniture to be moved so that the rugs could go underneath. As at all times, the guys worked vigorously, were very uncomplaining and determined to get everything right just the way I wish for. They give assistance to set everything back to right and finalized within the allocated time! I can not recommend this business high as much as necessary.

I have not at any time used a moving company before and after have experience with AmeriSafe Moving, I feel contrite about not make use of them before. They made it SO untroubled and saved me a lot of stress (both physical and mental). Everyone was immensely professional and cooperative throughout the complete process. I was very impressed with the SAFE KEEPING that the movers used when packing, relocating and unpacking my items. I would assuredly recommend using them and I will be utilize them any time I move in the later time.

These fellow were unbelievable! We had a very conscientious crew of six pack our belongings into 3 enormous trucks and transport them to our new home with reference to an hour away. They be in working order for fourteen hours and I didn't hear a one complaint. They were careful with our possessions, they had great point of view, and they were just complete nice guys. Regardless of the hot weather and the physical labor, they were honking and laughing throughout the entire job. I genuinely enjoyed having them around. I hope to never move again, but I will definitely recommend these guys to all my friends and family!

They SHOWED UP ALRIGHT when they said they would and got to moving. Right away in any way shape or form, our goods and machines were pull together. Safely and securely without any incident. Especially interested with these movers and would recommend them to anyone that needs movers! Extraordinary correspondence, engaged and mindful gathering.

I've never recently employed a relocation company, and AmeriSafe was the best first insight. The representatives were extremely deferential of me and MY ASSETS, and I was astonished by how much consideration they took in enclosing my furniture by plastic, covers, and so on. Well disposed, Convenient, Delicate loading and unloading. I can not suggest this help enough.

In the first place, they generally presented themselves, then, at that point, began to wrap and move the entirety of our furnishings and things productively and with extraordinary consideration.
Clearly this group was extremely capable. They likewise offered gracious support, magnificent correspondence and were NOT DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. One could see that they partook in their work and the organization of their collaborators. I was unable to be more content with our moving experience. They are "Genius" which is an extreme supplement. I strongly recommend them to anybody. Thank you kindly.

Amerisafe moving company is horrible. I set up my move with Conor and he was nothing but promises. Turns out he lied about everything especially the delivery date promised. The move cost me $4000 more than what Conor promised. Once the movers show up to your door, you're screwed. You have no option to go with another company since it's the day of the move. He said the house would be loaded on two box trucks on Thursday in Colorado and the same two trucks would drive to Texas and unload on Sunday. 4 days total.
Once the movers showed up, they said they take the box trucks to a warehouse in Denver, and then it gets loaded on a semi truck with other customers. The delivery date could be anywhere up to 30 days! I was told 4 days in total and my belongings wouldn't be moved on and off trucks over and over again. They then told me that the semi would deliver my belonging sometime over the next 30 days. I explained that I had a long driveway and a semi truck would not be able to get down to the house. They said it would by an extra $2000 to unload it in Texas on box trucks. Again, I was told the original two box trucks would be driving to Texas. I had to pay another $2000 charge in order to keep the original two trucks and keep my Sunday delivery window. They call it a "Premium delivery charge". So my move was an extra unexpected $4000 on top of the already $13000. Amerisafe then contracts out with a different moving company for the trucks and labor.
This is were the issue happens. Amerisafe promises the customer something that the movers can't deliver. Again, you are screwed when all this happens the day of the move. I called Conor to get an explanation when the movers showed up, and he passed me along to a customer service rep. He said to call him anytime and he'd be there for me. He then blocked my call. I was heated with the customer service rep and explaining how unfair this was, and she hung up on me. I hope people read this and never do business with Amerisafe. I hope Amerisafe realizes that they have a representative (Conor, from Florida) that outright lies to their customers.

Had someone from their department call and discuss the problem that my husband and I had gone through. Very friendly and understanding and helped resolve all the issues that we had faced during the move.

DO NOT GO WITH THEM!!! Where to begin with everything!! First they hired out a moving company with 1.1 star ratings. When it came time to move the guys got there with no issues but said our credit card was declined. I called our bank and saw it was never ran so when I called the moving company they said they were withholding our stuff until they received payment. I called Amerisafe and told them to which they said I needed to WIRE THE COMPANY MONEY. I explained the company they chose is not even running our card and it is something they need to fix.
After I threatened to sue the company our card was finally ran. Then the moving company lied and said our items were on its way to us but we stuck air tags to track our stuff and saw it never moved. I again call Amerisafe and they said that I was correct that it has not moved but that they legally have 14-21 days to move our stuff. When I had signed and paid they told me it would be there within 4-7 days. I again call Amerisafe and they said “what do you want us to do about it? This is the moving company’s fault.”
Later our stuff finally gets here and they send two illegal workers to bring our stuff. The issue is we told both parties we are living on base and that they will need a background check to get on and they said it would be no problem. Well one guy was able to get on and I called Amerisafe again to explain what is happening. Some lady calls me back to say “sorry we can’t do anything.” And when I explained there’s no way one person can move our couch and piano alone she told me that it’s too early for my attitude and that she was getting her kids ready for school and that I needed to be kind. Never did I cuss or yell at her but instead told her to do her job that we hired them for and she yelled at me and hung up. DO NOT GO WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE BEYOND USLESS AND KEEP NO PAPER TRAIL OF ANYTHING!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!! This is not a moving company but a broker go between for the real movers. The movers informed us how Amerisafe purposely underestimates the space needed for your move so that it can charge more when you run out of space. The allocation is based on the furniture in your home and does not take into account the number of rooms in the home or the amount of things you're taking.
The window given for the movers was 12-4 pm and they didn't arrive until 7 pm for a 3+hour move. The truck wasn't unpacked until 2 a.m. in a residential neighborhood. When we complained, we were reminded that this was in the moving window and that a contract had been signed. There was not enough space and about $1,000 more was asked for to complete the move. When we decided to not pay this awful company anything more, items were actually taken off the moving truck! We had to rent our own truck to finish our move. This company is a con in every way. STAY AWAY!!!

Interactions with AmeriSafe went fine. However, they contract out the actual moving to subcontractors. They used I Movers from NJ for our move, and lost two tables, broke a mirror, and a plate. They claimed they looked in their warehouse, and could not find them. How do you lose two whole tables? Find out how will do the actual move for you, and if it is I Movers, run far away. Amerisafe knows full well that I Movers are terrible, they have rock-bottom reviews. So I blame Amerisafe for continuing to use an incompetent mover.

Amerisafe is a broker. When the actual moving company arrives it is another company. They charged an additional $4600, not the remaining balance. The initial $2200 I paid was a total waste. I was told delivery would be on the third day after pickup, so arrived in that state the night before the third day to be ready for movers to unload. Nothing was as I was told by Colin at Amerisafe. I could get no answers afterwards and no contact from Colin. My delivery took 21 days to arrive and I was in another state with nothing. Anyone I got on the phone said the opposite of what I had been told, that that is the normal period for delivery and claimed no one would have told me 3-5 days.
The entire experience was horrible and cost twice what my original contract said. Their customer service is only good before you actually get to the pick-up date and when they’re trying to get your contract. This company should not be allowed to do business. Also access expires to view your documents and you can no longer get to docusign receipts that show anything, only generic emails with no pricing or inventory information.

However, on the off chance that you need an incredible and simple move, you would need to do your part. When I called and spoke to AmeriSafe, their original point of contact, Jeremy, was very courteous and credible. He listened to my needs and would answer my phone calls when I called him. He didn't seem to be a hustler. He told me my concerns would be met and my furniture and belongings would be taken care of. He originally gave me a $7,000 quote. I realized that required a lot of packing on my part and I was moving alone, so I couldn't do that. But that being said, I could have a seamless transition from moving to Florida to Minnesota. But it was horrible. After I talked to the initial point of contact and was transferred to someone else in dispatch, it was a blur.
They send all these contracts online. They have you review them and sign off on them. I did to the best of my ability. But after that, I felt I lost total control of the move and had to fight for information. After I realized that I probably needed more help with packing than what I thought, I called them back. They made me do another walkthrough inventory. I already told them how many boxes I had packed. What started out as a $7,000 quote ended up being a $14,000 quote. When I told them I needed more boxes packed, that was when they upped my price. But they didn't pack that many boxes for me, except for my kitchen and my china cabinet. I packed 90% of my own boxes.
I thought I was getting a medium-sized truck that was equal to a medium-sized U-Haul. All of a sudden, I needed to be on a full semi. Why did my belongings belong on a full semi when moving down there from Minnesota to Florida, we were able to get a medium-sized U-Haul? Sure enough, a full semi showed up at my door, and they loaded, packed and went away. It was only after that that I understood that there would be at least two other homes included on the semi. That gave me angst because that was one of my concerns when I first reached out to Jeremy, that I didn't want to lose any of my stuff or have it be mixed up with anybody else's family. But when the semi came, the supervisor assured me that each customer's goods were being separated by a partition.
We wanted to make sure when my goods would be delivered to the house so we can make sure we were there and ready for them. It took about a couple days to get an answer and when I got an answer, they said, “Your goods are in a depot in Chicago. They're trying to find somebody to move them from Chicago to Minneapolis.” That didn't make me feel very good ‘cause I didn't know my goods were gonna be stored in some depot in Chicago. No one explained that to me. Finally, they told me that we would receive our goods after 5:00 p.m. on a certain day. We were ready for them. When the truck came, it was again one of those medium-sized U-Hauls that I was supposed to get in the first place. It wasn't even a marked truck. It had no mention of any moving company. The guys were young and unkempt. One of them even left their flip-flops in my driveway after it was done.
As I continued to go through my furniture, my lamp was busted. There's a piece of furniture that I've yet to repair. There was a marble table that was busted. I had a round claw foot dining room table that was busted too. I had another side table that had a big wood chip taken out of it. I could tell my things were handled with disregard. I was so disgusted and felt so disrespected. When I first called AmeriSafe, they were under a different name. When I called them back, that was when they started answering AmeriSafe. That was sketchy even from the beginning. If I ever do have to move again, I'd rather hire total strangers to load up my truck and have a family member drive a U-Haul ‘cause then you have control and you know your stuff isn't being loaded and unloaded and scratched and dropped.

AmeriSafe brought too small of a truck so they couldn’t take everything. They left my stuff that was in the storage unit and took the legs off of the grand piano and told me they weren't going to put them back on. I told them that I was going to sue them if they didn't because I paid extra for that. They said the charge was going to be $7,000 to move from Georgia to South Florida and when they got down here, they refused to take anything off the truck and said they were going to put it in the storage unit and I couldn't have it. They wouldn't take my furniture into the house until I paid them an extra $5,000. They held my furniture hostage. The guy who was in charge of it also wanted me to tip him after they got the stuff off. He also wouldn't pay the people who he had working for them for whatever reason. I moved from Florida up here to Maryland, and I gave AmeriSafe all the information. Their rep gave a general price and said that they'd have to update it when somebody got here. When the movers came here, they almost doubled the price. It became about $5,000 more and at that time, I didn't have much choice. Aside from that, they got to my apartment somewhere around 9 o'clock at night and they didn't finish getting everything out of the apartment until 2:00 in the morning. They said the delay was because they had problems somewhere else.
But the move was supposed to be in the morning, then they changed it, and they changed it again. Then they switched the date. They did a lot of things that just didn't make sense. In the end, they got my stuff up to my new place at the time they said they would. But everything was so late that it was almost moot at that point. Also, I missed some stuff and some stuff was broken. I would never use them again and I couldn't recommend them.

AmeriSafe picked me up from Georgia and moved me to Indiana. It took three weeks, and my experience was terrible. On moving day, they came and packed my stuff up, then they held on to my stuff. They said my check bounced, which it didn't. They didn't put my check in the bank. They tried to deposit on an app and my bank would not do it because it was over $5,000. I told them the money was in there. About four days later, they went to the bank and they finally got me moved. It was a nightmare. I didn't even know when I was gonna get my stuff. I finally got it on October 31.
AmeriSafe didn't give me a quote, and I ended up paying about $7,000 for all this. I overpaid and lost all kinds of stuff. They lost the dining chair and a box with my pots, pans, and some coffee cups. They also messed up a lot of my stuff. I have a 100-year-old secretary that they broke and messed up. I even had to have my coffee table and tables redone because they messed them up as well. The whole situation was horrible, and I've got a suit against them. Stay away from them. I didn't read the reviews before I used them, but then I went back and read them, and so did my daughter. Everything I've read on their reviews has been bad.

The rep, Dean, was very nice and always friendly, but everything AmeriSafe told me was a lie. They didn't make the move, and they didn't tell me ahead of time that it was gonna be subcontracted. The quote they gave me was significantly better than two other quotes that I got, but when the company that made the move showed up, they almost tripled the amount that was originally quoted. By that time, the house was sold and we needed to get out.
The company that moved me made some fairly significant damage. I called AmeriSafe, and they said, "We will talk with them.” I filled out a form for the moving company and sent pictures, but that was back in the beginning of December. We've written off the loss because we haven't heard anything from anybody. I just took all the phone numbers off my phone.

I wished somebody came out and looked at what I had instead of doing everything over the phone because what I was quoted originally was not what I paid at the end. It was almost twice as much when I went through and explained to everybody exactly what I had because of the cubic feet of space that I took up. The quote was done over the phone. So I walked through my house, room by room, and described all the furniture. It was almost the entire house packed up. But when I got the quote via email, I noticed a lot of things were missing off of the quote.
I called back Amerisafe and they said, "Well, it's gonna be more," and that was that. Also, sometimes I tried to call back and nobody would answer the phone. But the guys from United were very helpful and useful. The only thing is that they did not put back together the furniture that they disassembled. It was supposed to be the agreement on it, but that didn't happen. I have a disabled wife and moving into a house and doing everything made things a little more difficult.

I would not recommend Patrick who is the sales guy to anyone going forward. They didn't show up on time. Then another person showed up. I didn't know what happened to the other guy. They were supposed to deliver on a certain date but they were a week late. They moved us on the 24th of October. My expectation was they were gonna deliver on the 30th of October. My wife and I flew up here. We waited and kept calling but didn't hear from anybody. I thought my furniture was stolen and sold. We were flying back and forth and I spent in hotel rooms. They said they had two weeks and were gonna deliver on the 7th of November.
The day they showed up to unload up here in Tennessee, only one worker showed up. I ended up helping them do some of the move. I was paying over $12,000 and moving my own furniture because the workers didn't show up. The movers did what they could, but they didn't have any help. I felt sorry for them. They started in the morning and didn't get done till 10 o'clock at night.
I had some damage and filled out a claim back in November. It's now March, but I’m still trying to get that claim. That's been a nightmare. It's been approved, but I can't get any further. I keep making a phone call to the company that's handling the insurance. It's the worst experience I've ever had. I'm very frustrated. People didn't return calls. I called Patrick and disguised myself as wanting to get an order in. I told him he wouldn't call me and he told me it was not his job. He was upset with me. It also cost a lot more than I thought. When the guy gave me the quote, he went room by room and told me exactly what the cost was going to be. But when the guy showed up he told me it was gonna be a couple more $1,000. They accompanied boxes, wraps tapes to pack stuff and had basic straightforward cost. They immediately packed stuff without wasting time and stacked it rapidly in the truck. I called AmeriSafe Moving to check. The prices seemed competitive. The quote was by FaceTime and I didn't articulate clearly. The young gentleman that helped me was not forthcoming. So, my initial charge didn't include everything I asked for. By the time I thought I had what I asked for, my price had more than doubled. It was the most expensive mistake I've made in a few years. I asked for a total turnkey move. When I called back later to check on everything just to confirm, I found out we had to add packing. So, that made it more than double. They didn't tell me the moving company I would get until I g0t them and my moving company was a couple of guys in three U-Haul trucks.
We left our original location and we would be here for 24 to 48 hours, and the furniture would arrive, which was fine. I stayed in a hotel, I did my closing, and I could get my appliances in. Not so. I got here on Monday and my furniture came on Friday. I'm glad they didn't touch it again because I don't have the heart to see what else is broken. Things were labeled, hall or entryway, and I found bathroom towels in it. It was not necessary to be that bad. They were nice and we did not mistreat anybody. We tipped them and thanked them.
The movers were pleasant and didn't horse around. They took a break to eat some lunch, but they worked very hard. I got the feeling once I unpacked from my nightmare boxes that had silk flower arrangements on the bottom, dumped dresser drawers on top of that, pillows on top of that in the hangup clothes box with all my hangup clothes around it. They put MacKenzie-Childs porcelain loose in a box, porcelain lamp shades loose in a box with some things on it, unwrapped a brand-new comforter to wrap a lamp in it that I was gonna give as a gift. That was another loss.
They had not done that type of move before. I had a lot of china and crystal that I needed very carefully wrapped. Most of that came through okay. But to the detriment of everything, I don't have a piece of wood furniture that doesn't have a brand-new scratch on it. And I have one of those mirrored nightstands, the furniture is all mirror thing, and I have to throw it away. The movers were not equipped to do it.
I had so much broken, scratched, indented stuff from my move that I couldn't even begin to list it. But their agreement was 60 cents a pound. If they smashed a silk flower arrangement, that's 60 cents to them. I called AmeriSafe back and couldn't get any help. That original person I talked to was no longer available. He's there. The number would ring through, I would leave a message and they would shoot back my ear where I signed the sales agreement. That would be the only response. I would never recommend it. I don't even wanna hear their name. It's still not over because I'm still unpacking because I don't have the heart to look at much. I would never do it again. If I have to move again, I would just pay the price for a professional group.

Suggest THIS COMPANY!! You will love it!! Don't terrified of less reviews!! I'm truly amazed at how proficient they are. Two movers showed up on time, and the final cost is sensible. The two of them work hard so you don't have to stress over time-wasting. We rent for 2 hours to move 1b1b apartment, however as a matter of fact, they complete the process of moving everything in 1 hour and 45 mins. We will not consider any other company later on and will recommend them to our friends. Thank you for making our new home simple.

I have utilized AmeriSafe Moving two times to move my things. They are decent and make an thorough job in moving. They take great consideration of the furniture by wrapping it with covers and plastic. I entrusted them with the delicate things at my place and they moved it securely with practically no damage. They are on time and take care of business quicker with only two men. I could move my whole 1 bed condo in around 3 hours. They are truly reasonable for the assistance they give. I strongly suggest them!

We’re late by 6 hours to pick up furniture. Told us they were going directly to our destination. My husband got up early the next morning to make the 8 hour trip since they said they were bringing furniture the next day. Never came until 3 days later. Never called us to update us and would not return our numerous calls to them. Lost parts of our furniture. They loaded it on one truck but furniture was moved onto another truck when it finally arrived. Lost important parts of our furniture and broke other pieces. Would never use them again. Nobody should.

This is the WORST HIRE I'VE EVER HAD. I was told my things would arrive three days after pickup and it took a MONTH. I lived with no clothes or furniture for a month because they lied to me about when it would be driven to my destination. When I scheduled the move they knew the building I was moving into and I told them I could book the elevator. Now my things are supposed to arrive tomorrow and they are charging me an extra $350 dollars for a shuttle because they are claiming the semi cannot fit on my street. IF THEY KNEW MY BUILDING WHY WOULDN'T THEY SAY ANYTHING THE FIRST PHONE CALL. Also I will add they are trying to charge me an elevator fee to bring my things to my apartment. THE WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER AND I WILL NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN.

Much thanks to you to these team for a simple move. In reading some of the reviews, the cost could have transformed from the estimate however that has something I have seen with others movers as they can increase relying upon the ultimate result. I had called different movers who either never got back to me or gave me an estimate via telephone without emerging to see what was to be moved. All costs were well above what AmeriSafe Moving ended up to be. They came out that very day I called for an estimate and sent me numbers rapidly. Calls or messages were addressed speedily. The movers packed every one of my things well and rapidly. I had 2 drop offs which they navigated well the day after pickup. I wouldn't hesitate to refer this company to other people or use them for future moves.

I needed to move a few large weighty things including a gun safe and in light of reviews hired AmeriSafe Moving. They gave me a sensible quote via telephone and put it down on the calendar and time to do the move. They approached the day of the transition to tell me when their truck would be in site. Crew arrived right as expected. These guys were extremely cautious in removing the safe from the wardrobe and moving it out. They were strong moving all pieces effectively and securely. Everything was unloaded at two unique areas and put where I really wanted them. I need to make reference to that they really reduced the cost upon completion since they said it went simpler than anticipated. Well that is true genuineness. I would highly suggest this group for any move because of extraordinary correspondence, quickness, productivity, and the incredible consideration they take in the genuine move. It was a 5 star move. Many thanks.

They gave a amazing qoute and I paid the 800 dollar deposit! 4 days later I get a call to confirm our inventory. Supposedly they didn't list half of what I told them and the price doubled! Then when I canceled they state they are keeping the deposit! Or at least 80% percent of the deposit. Then they call this morning and offer to take amount off that route. (Not that much off) as if I could trust them! Stay Away!

Pick-up was great. The movers were timely and they did everything nicely. They handled everything for us. Delivery was also easy and when we expected. I have no complaints about pick-up or delivery. The only thing that we were disappointed in was the price increases 'cause it was not what I was expecting. I was quoted a number, and the week before when they did the final inventory check, the number increased, then when the movers arrived, it increased yet again. It was more money than we were originally expecting to pay from the first quote. Other than that, everything was good. I would recommend AmeriSafe Moving to people, but I would also warn them that the price is gonna change.

We had to move quickly because our house sold and in a day. We needed someone who could come give us a quote to see if we could get out before closing. We were closing in three weeks. AmeriSafe Moving Services was the only one who could get there within a week to give me information. They said they could have us out of there on time. The people who came to pack and move us were exceptional. There was a team of nine guys. They showed up and got my entire house packed in one day. I was very concerned because I thought it would be a two-day job. And it was my understanding that the moving company gave me two days. We were closing on the 28th, and they were supposed to come on the 29th but the 30th is what they said.
The driver called on the 28th. It was after closing. I asked, "When are the people coming to pack?" He said, "They're coming on the 30th." I went, "This is a two-day job. There is no way you're gonna get this done in a day." He said, "We were scheduled to be there either the 29th or the 30th. I'll be there on the 30th at 7 o'clock. Are you ready?" I said, "I'm more than ready."
When he showed up, he told me himself, "This is a two-day job. As soon as I pulled up in front of your house, I knew we should have been here yesterday packing." I said, "I thought that's what was happening. So, I'm, real confused." But he assured me that, "I have a team of seven people coming. We will get you out of here today." We had to be out of the house on the 30th. So, I was worried. And they were there for 12 hours. But they got it done and did a great job.
Whatever quote that you got for moving, double it. Because AmeriSafe would underestimate the quote, which is what happened to us. When the guy from AmeriSafe called me back, he had my house listing up in front of him. It didn't leave anything out. The photographer that came and did the pictures of my house was phenomenal and did a great job. And you could see every inch of every room. I tried to tell him to not underestimate the amount of items in my house. I said every cabinet, every closet, everything that I had was very organized and full of items. I'm an organized person and I moved many times. And every time someone came to estimate how much I had to move, they have always underestimated.
When the driver came and saw how much stuff had to be packed and moved, my price almost doubled from what they told me. I was upset about that. That was the only thing that I was upset about with this whole move and with AmeriSafe they grossly underestimated how much I had to move and what it was would cost me.
Bringing my items to me, the delivery after we moved, was a much better experience with AmeriSafe than coming to pack my house. But they still gave me misinformation on how much it would cost. I knew exactly what the price was supposed to be and what I would owe the driver when he came to deliver my things. And when AmeriSafe gave me the estimate, I said, "That is not correct. You're almost $3,000 short. I know that's not correct." And had to have a certified check. They wanted me to have money orders, but there was no way I could do a postal money order for the amount of money they talked about. That was ridiculous.
The company agreed to let me do a cashier's check. But I said, "That's not right." My service rep with AmeriSafe was good. She everything she could to get everything right and make sure this was correct. She said, "Let me contact the mover. Let me check with them and I will get a bill of lading." She did. The next day, she emailed me the bill of lading which had the amount that the AmeriSafe rep told me it was would be. I called her again and said, "I assure you, this is not correct. And I cannot have any surprises when they come to deliver my stuff. I have to get a cashier's check from the bank."
She said, "What do you think is wrong with it?" I said, "First of all, you don't have the storage amount on there. My stuff's in storage and I'm gonna owe a month's worth of storage. And that's not on there. Plus, the amount that you're showing on the bill of lading is not the amount that I was told when they picked up my stuff. That is not the amount that I was told I would owe them on delivery." She said, "Let me check into this again." And she did. She didn't get back to me on that. And it wasn't until they gave me a delivery date that the mover, the driver, whatever they call these people, that company sent me an email their self with the amount that I would owe and the delivery timeframe, the window of days that they would be at my house. And it was like a three-day window. And the amount that they sent me was correct.
It was exactly the amount that I was told that I would owe. And it was more than a $3,000 difference. So there was some confusion on how much we owed these people. And when they asked for a cashier's check or money order, you gotta get that right. They have to get the numbers right. Because they're not gonna pull my stuff off that truck if I don't have the right amount of money to pay them. And that's a problem. That is a major problem. That is the only problem that I have with these people. The only problem was not getting the dollar amounts right.
It's a shock to your system when someone shows up to pack your house and put your whole household on a truck and drive off with it. And when they show up, they're telling you that the price is almost double what you were expecting to pay. Because you have to either pay them cash or a money order or a cashier's check. And to give that, it has to be right. The amount has to be right. I didn't have cash on hand to pay them an extra $6,000 when they showed up at my door.
It was a bad situation the whole morning for several hours before they started. But they went ahead and started packing stuff while we tried to get it taken care of. But the driver of the truck was exceptional with working with AmeriSafe and his company to try and get this corrected and get it as close to the number that it needed to what I was told as possible. But it still ended up costing me 4,000 more than what it was supposed to. And they allow me to use a credit card and did not charge me the percentage fee that they did. Because it was the only way they would get their money. You can't tell me something and tell me, "You owe us 6,000 more. We need it today." I was mad.
The driver took pictures of the damage that we could see. There's a lot that we couldn't see because everything had to be unwrapped. But the obvious pieces, he took pictures of. But as I started bringing my furniture in and putting my furniture in place, I noticed a lot more damage. Almost every piece had either a big chunk of wood out of it, or a corner that has been smashed. I have 30 days to file a claim. I'm not sure how to do that. I have to go back online, but I'm still unpacking boxes.

My experience with AmeriSafe Moving Services has not been the best. What they told me to begin with was a far cry from what I wound up costing me. And they like to deal in cash. That way, I have no recourse. I still have a 6-foot Werner step ladder that's missing, and I called them and they blew me off. Once they got my money, they could give a crap less. So if you're thinking of dealing with them, I would double think that.
I wound up talking to the guy on the phone, “It's only gonna cost you this amount of money, $3,000. But if you sign up today, I'll knock $500 off.” That sounded good. And the next time that I talked to them, “It looks like you have more stuff than what we thought. So that's gonna cost you another $1,000.” The guy came with the truck to pick it up, and he said, “I can't load all that stuff on there for that amount of money. It's gonna cost you X amount of dollars more.” And they wanted X amount of dollars to unload it at my house. So if you're thinking of using them to move, get a local mover in your area, wherever you live that they could come out and look at your stuff and you could get a written estimate.
The guy on the phone said, “Tell me what you got.” “Okay. I got a king size bed. I got a queen size bed. I got two dressers. I got a dining room table with six chairs. I got a sofa so big, and I got TVs.” They listed everything. And on their website, they sent me a sheet and I could fill it out. I could go through the house with this piece of paper rather than trying to remember all the stuff when on the phone. I could go through my house and list all the stuff I got. So, they knew what I got and it was this. “Crap. We need more money.” Once they got into me, once they were into me for a couple thousand bucks, what am I gonna do? I either keep playing the game or take it as a loss.
The movers came the day I asked them to move. They said, “I would be there on Tuesday or Wednesday.” I could understand weather because we moved in November. I said, “Pick it up on March 12th.” Just as a rough thing. “And I want you to deliver it on March 19th.” “That's no problem. That'll be just fine.” All of a sudden, they picked all this stuff up, came March 19th and I said, “Where's my stuff?” “Put that in a warehouse and we don't move it to your area until we got a full load.” Never told me that, though. I waited there, I didn't have anything. I didn't have any of my furniture. I didn't have any of your clothes. If I were you, I'd make a hundred trips with my car rather than use AmeriSafe.

My mother left her house, had it sold in a week, and had to be out in 30 days. So, I had to schedule the move quickly. I went through the process with AmeriSafe with my camera, walking through the house and showing every closet, the basement and downstairs. And they gave me a quote. The front end was great other than the rep didn't calculate enough truck. The video didn't work well because they couldn't get everything on the truck and I had to be out of the house the next morning. Nobody was there but me. Everyone else had already left for the destination. I had to rent a U-Haul trailer and load and fill the trailer up by myself in pouring rain. Some of it was very heavy and adrenaline was the only thing that helped me get stuff loaded.
I could tell that the truck wasn't gonna hold it all. The crew offered to send another truck but they said they would have to come and be there the next day, which I had to be out of the house. They said that it would be two weeks before the truck comes out so I couldn't do that. Based on my experience, I would get it in writing upfront that everything would be loaded and I would overestimate how much truck is needed. I moved several times and I fully expected a big 18-wheeler, but it was a box truck that pulled up.
One other thing was that I was not clear that it wouldn't be an AmeriSafe crew. It was a freelance contractor who showed up to move me, which was why they wanted their money first. They had tattoos all over their necks and foreheads, and if I hadn't been there with my 81-year-old mother, she would have been very intimidated. They couldn't speak English. I have nothing against that but somebody needs to be able to translate. I paid a premium so I should have gotten everything I paid for and I didn't. They didn't set up some of the TVs. They took them apart but when they got here, they said they don’t put them back together and I was left to assemble the TV stands myself.

We had a big house and my boyfriend's parents are in their late 70s, and we had a discussion and did a video thing with the guys from AmeriSafe on the phone and had a price. I understand some things were added and prices went up, but even knowing how big the house is, the guys still showed up late in the afternoon and started packing late and had my boyfriend's parents up. They had to go down the street and stay with friends. We had to take their dog and go out to our house. We were very disappointed in that. The guys worked and packed the house all night through the next morning at 4:00 AM. You don't do that with people. Then, they couldn't fit everything that they needed. They were supposed to get something out of a storage unit and they didn't. So, it's still here in Alabama. We'll deal with that so of course, the price will go up for some things and it was aggravating.
My biggest thing was I called because I was very upset that they should have known they should not start in the afternoon. Nobody's just going to leave movers or people in one's house. I thought AmeriSafe would have done something or given us something. They didn't do anything. Otherwise, the guys that were there were nice. They were just doing what they were told. The main thing with AmeriSafe was scheduling the timing and being more upfront about the cost. They should overestimate instead of underestimating to be more realistic about the cost.

I gave AmeriSafe Moving Services a call and talked to a central dispatch and they were located somewhere around West Palm Beach. We requested them to do all of the packing and moving. We did not want to get involved. We are senior citizens and didn't feel like we were physically able. We did not lift a finger. All we had to do was tell them what was going and they did the rest. We told them where to put the furniture, they put it there and it has been there since. The only thing we had to do was to unpack the boxes. We didn't expect them to do that. But as far as the heavy furniture is concerned, mattresses, everything was handled by them. They handled everything like professionals.
I could not speak higher of our guy. He was out of Raleigh, North Carolina, and he was a true professional. When they told us that they would be somewhere at a certain time, they were. They knew what they were doing. They got to work, were very careful, and banged it out in record time. Everything was accounted for. There was nothing lost. However, they were expensive. That move cost us $13,000. But by the same token, they did everything. They provided all of the boxes, tape, labor, trucks, everything from A to Z. Original Review: The AmeriSafe representative I worked with was very nice, but the move was a disaster. I didn't realize that AmeriSafe is just a broker. All they do is subcontract everything. I had a whole house move across country and the actual moving day went okay. They knew what the contents of the house were. They priced it based on that. We even did the pictures. But when they came, I didn't realize that it was just a staging truck and that they were gonna take it to a semi someplace else. When they came, the truck was too small. They had to go load that. They disappeared for a long time to unload it. When they came back, they had to load the rest of the stuff. It started out fairly well and professionally. By the time of delivery, it had turned into a disaster that cost me a lot of money because of all the damaged furniture.

My experience with AmeriSafe was not very good. I was very displeased. I tried to call the guy who did the delivery and he said that everything was okay when he left everything here. But that was a lie because nobody was able to get back into the house after they dropped the stuff off. I had an $8,000 John Deere riding lawnmower and they stole it. They loaded it back up on their truck and the neighbors saw them do it. Everything they delivered was messed up. They had boxes that said fragile and they had heavy stuff stacked on top of it. I reached out to AmeriSafe and they said I had no insurance and I’m tough out of luck. I paid $13,000 and I thought I had insurance. If someone can help me out, I would appreciate that. So, the video quote should be accurate since they were able to see everything that needed to be moved. They cover themselves by stating if you add any items the price might go up. When the movers did arrive, the price increased by 25% and we did not add a single item! There is nothing you can do since they already had your down payment, and your plans are to move out that day. This company and the sub-contracted company they hired, Cobra Van Lines has no integrity. Not only did they charge almost 3 times the quote, they outright lied about when delivery would be made. After speaking with their rude customer representative at Cobra regarding delivery that could take up to “30 days” after being promised it would be there in two weeks, I asked to be notified well in advance because I had to go back to Wyoming for cancer treatment on the 13th. They call me the morning of the 14th and said they would be delivering the following morning and I am 1700 miles away.
I ask them to work with me and oh they would for an enormous fee per day. Not only that after picking up my belongings in a rented Budget van, they placed it on an 18 wheeler, just to tell me they could not get the 18 up my drive so I had to pay extra for them to unload my belongings once again and put on a U-haul truck. I asked how did they know that they could not get up my drive and she stated we googled my address. Why didn’t they do that in the beginning and just be honest and upfront about the extra charge?! They also did not put back together furniture that they took apart. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SUB COMPANY COBRA VANLINES. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Florida where the home office is as well as in Wyoming and Georgia. Do yourself a favor and rent your own moving van and do it yourself.

I first contacted AmeriSafe Moving Services when I was in the middle of selling my home, buying a home, retiring from federal service, and finding a new job. The salesman on the phone "Colin", assured me that he was going to get me the best price for my move and was going to work with me. We reviewed my inventory, and after the initial quote, of $18,000 dollars, I said that it was too high, and I was going to check around. He said "hold on, let me work with it for a minute".
When I asked if they had a military discount, or a disabled veteran discount (I am 100%), he stated that the company has a long history of working with the military, and that his boss was former military, and loved to take care of our vets. He then put me on hold, and when he came back on the phone, he told me that his boss approved a waiver of a certain fee and a discount that brought my total down to $14,000. They would need a deposit NOW to hold that price, and I would pay $3,871 at pickup and another $3,871 at delivery. During his sales pitch he never identified his company as a moving broker, in fact, during his sales pitch he stated "WE are going to give you the white glove service, WE will come in and pack everything, load it up, and upon delivery WE will unpack it the same way." So, I put the deposit down. I was falsely led to believe that AmeriSafe was the company performing my move.
On February 13th I received an email from AmeriSafe stating that Pro Quality (sic) was assigned to my move, and to have a certified check for $3,871 dollars made out in their name. So, I did. This is the first time I heard that Pro Quality Relocation Services was performing my move. On February 14th, Pro Quality showed up at my door - with two trucks. and as the crew started packing my belongings, the crew chief told me that they miscalculated my packing materials by a lot. He rang up a new estimate, demanding that I pay over $7,000 dollars for them to move my household goods, and that they were going to have to bring in another truck (which was already outside).
I can totally understand being off by 10%, as these are supposed to be professional movers, and I would have gladly accepted that. But to be off by more than 43%, even after I removed a couch, a treadmill, and a 6 ft BBQ smoker from my original inventory list, prior to them starting, I knew I was scammed. And when I complained about it to AmeriSafe, they told me that I could stop the move, but I would lose my deposit, and I would have to start over with another mover. I start my new job in Texas on 26 February, and don't have the time, or money to do that. They were basically extorting the money out of me.
I have a suspicion that both companies, Amerisafe, and Pro Quality Relocation Services, are part of an overall bigger scam. AmeriSafe purposely underestimates the cost of your move, and then Pro Quality Relocation Services swoops in to do the extorting at the last minute. Updated on 05/21/2024: I would not use them ever again. Upon arrival a piece of furniture was damaged. I submitted a claim. As of this date (4 months now) I have not received any communication. The guys that picked up and delivered the property were kind and explained that they are hired to do the job by Amerisafe. That is all. If I could give no stars I would! Honesty goes a long way.
Original Review: The movers from Pennsylvania were very kind and let us know upfront about the cost of the move. The deliverers were kind as well. This was our first experience moving long distance and doing business with a broker. We were quoted one price on the phone and told differently when time came to load the truck. I specifically asked the telephone rep if the price he stated was all that we would be paying. He said yes. I was unaware of a broker versus dealing directly with movers. Being upfront and honest about pricing goes a long way when looking for recommendations.

I would not recommend this company for cross-country moves. The services I requested were not a small feat. It was a move from the West US to the Midwest (about a 30 hour drive under normal conditions). It was an excessively full storage unit in a state I was no longer in, moving over for a new job. All around, there was poor communication from their group and the outcomes came nowhere near close to expectations. The original estimate was set for about $2500 and they doubled it at pickup. I’m writing this review just as my stuff has been dropped off at my new location, so I am still not yet sure about the condition/state of everything (*I am worried, though*). I strongly believe it would have been more cost-effective for me to do it myself (with some family help) and a rented vehicle. My experiences are detailed below for those interested.
Upon first contacting AmeriSafe Moving Services, the first customer service representative was very friendly, but ultimately nondescriptive/inaccurate about setting expectations. For the initial quote, he said the specifics contents of my move did not really matter, and it was more like an estimate of a 1-bedroom-house vs 5-bedroom. Even when stressing that my unit had extra height that a normal storage unit would not have, he didn’t seem to think it important to add on any buffer cost to what was expected for the storage unit size. I was also set up to believe my load would reach me in 5-9 business days.
The pick-up was first scheduled for Dec. 11th and ended up being about a week early and a scramble to plan for opening my storage unit “from afar”. I appreciate that they were at least willing to work with me on this. The pickup mover seemed friendly. I did appreciate there were some live updates via text through this whole process, but just nowhere near enough.
On the day of pickup, despite being given specific instructions on who to talk to at the storage unit, the driver/mover had waited around several hours before he contacted me and said the locksmith was late (but the locksmith had already been there and finished opening the unit). He had not known because he did not go through the specific check-in instructions to meet the right person. They also called me and said that things were not packed how they expected them to be (which I wasn’t aware they had specific expectations, and that would have required me to go through my unit and unpack/repack just for them to haul). I’m sure there was extra effort on their part to pack everything how they wanted and it couldn’t have been easy for them when the original intake/quote person didn’t take adequate information or prepare them so they would know they need to provide a more accurate quote on-site. At this point, the estimate doubled from about $2500 to just shy of $5k. Ouch, but what can I do from across the country.
Then, there was the large misunderstanding that my stuff would reach me between 5-9 business days (initial quote), which I was later told the load had a drop-off window of 9-21 days (according to another customer service rep over the phone), even though a person under normal circumstances could make the trip 2-3 times in 9 days. I was also informed that everything was loaded into some other storage location until it could be dropped off, which had never come up in the first conversation.
I was notified that somebody would be loading my items about 7 days ago from their storage, and that they’d send another update that same day. I never received ANY update and had resigned at this point to expect the least (that they weren’t even able to pick up). Today at 1:30 pm (during work), I get a text notification that I will be receiving my items at 5 pm. Luckily, I had planned to be home early for a Zoom meeting so I didn’t need to cancel on any clients. There was one mover and he arrived even half an hour before he had warned me, but was friendly and quick (I think). Again, I’m not sure how well my stuff has fared the trip yet, prior to inspection.
This company really frustrated me during an already difficult transition. In addition to the quote and final estimate seeming arbitrarily determined (or at least nobody reviewed with me why the charges had doubled), payment also seemed sketchy to me, as it was requested that these thousand-dollar amounts go to specific individuals via Zelle vs a company account. It has been a whole month of not knowing what/when to expect any of my stuff to be moved and a surprise double in price from the initial quote. Again, I would not recommend this group.

I moved intrastate about 72 miles, and was so bogged down with things to do. I looked up on the internet the top moving companies. I called Amerisafe Movers and little did I know was given a quote way below what the actual charge was from the moving company. There were flags to begin with. I asked the quoting rep "Robert" what was included with the quote and he said they will take down and put up desks, TVs, Etc. and the cost would be about $1800.00 with 700 going to the broker. I then asked about all the boxes; and he said the quote included up to 50 boxes and based on 475 cubic feet. I also informed him that there were stairs, and he said that was all included.
Over the next few days, I called customer service to ask about this quote and learned that it would cost $50 to box a tv and that the quote was based on a software program that did the calculations. I was concerned that the boxes were of different sizes, because the quote was based on 50 small boxes. Well I ended up with 45 boxes of various sizes. Something in my gut said this quote would be off. When the movers came, they immediately said that this is a 1000 cu3ft move not 475. I had to pay another 1071 bringing the total to about 2912 including the 700 going to the broker. Also, there is charge for long distance travel which included my stairs. They were nice in not charging me this.
This was my first experience with a broker and I would strongly suggest you get someone who comes to your place and looks over everything vs a broker who's only way to respond to my concerns when I called Customer Service was "Well, this is a software program that is used and results vary from person to person." WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT??!! The mover was good and I tipped generously for their work, but will never work with a broker again. Unfortunately, this incident has really damped my desire to work with a moving broker in the future. I would have had no problem with the correct quote; but the difference of over 100% was worth calling them on. I wish I would have gone to this web site first before buying.

I called the zoo dirt agent Dean **, probably not his real name and he quickly picked up the call. I told him I was not comfortable with this and was not going to be using their services. He responded with no problem, well there was a problem. The next morning I get a text at 7am stating he was correcting the contract? I immediately called all three numbers he gave me to a recording, the voicemail box has not been set up! That was another major red flag. My next call was to the credit card company trying to stop the $890.90 deposit of course to no avail.
Suddenly this morning I get a call saying I had to fill out an online form to cancel? Next I get a screw you notice that as a one time courtesy they would credit me $180.00 What???? Apparently you have to cancel 72 hours before the move date by email form? This is all by design and well thought out on their end! Basically they want to screw me out of $710.00 for what? Unbelievable experience. They underestimate their quote by cubic feet and weight! I told them I had 8000 pounds and that my belongings would fill a 26 ft truck, I know this because I just moved into a house that has crocked floors and my wife who is a Parkinson's patient cannot navigate them. They put down 5000 pounds and a smaller sq. footage to bring down the quote as to secure a deposit. I will fight these Cons as long as it takes. Don't be their next victim, run from these dirtbags!!!

Engaging AmeriSafe Moving Service for my recent relocation has been an utterly regrettable decision, characterized by abysmal service and a crew with shockingly bad manners. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a moving nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal to warn others.
Right from the start, the level of service provided by AmeriSafe was far from satisfactory. The communication was poor, and it often felt like I was an afterthought rather than a paying customer. The promised efficiency and professionalism were nowhere to be found, and it became increasingly clear that this company did not prioritize customer satisfaction.
The crew's manners were nothing short of appalling. From the moment they arrived, their behavior was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Simple questions were met with dismissive attitudes, and any attempt to provide guidance or express concerns was met with eye rolls and snide remarks. It was as though they had no understanding of basic customer service etiquette.
The actual moving process was a disaster. The crew handled my belongings with a shocking lack of care. Furniture was banged against walls, and fragile items were tossed around without any consideration for their value. It was evident that the crew lacked the necessary training to handle a move with even a modicum of professionalism.
To make matters worse, the crew's incompetence led to delays and extended the already stressful moving process. It felt as though they had little regard for my time or the commitments outlined in our agreement. The overall experience left me questioning why I had chosen AmeriSafe Moving Service in the first place. Attempts to address these issues with the company's customer service were equally frustrating. They displayed a complete lack of concern for the grievances raised, offering no apologies or solutions. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for AmeriSafe Moving Service.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against using AmeriSafe Moving Service for your relocation needs. The combination of bad service, an unprofessional crew with terrible manners, and a lack of accountability make them a company to steer clear of. Save yourself the headache and stress by choosing a moving company that values its customers and upholds a basic standard of professionalism. AmeriSafe Moving Service falls far short of these expectations.

The level of service I received was shockingly unprofessional, disorganized, and marked by a complete lack of respect for both my time and belongings. From the onset, it was clear that this company lacked basic organizational skills. The promised schedule was consistently disregarded, leading to a chaotic and frustrating moving experience. The movers arrived hours later than agreed upon, causing unnecessary delays and putting me in a precarious situation. Their lack of punctuality demonstrated a total disregard for the importance of sticking to a schedule, and it left me questioning the reliability of the entire operation.
The disrespect I encountered from the Amerisafe Moving Company crew was nothing short of astounding. Their communication was rude and dismissive, and it felt as though I was inconveniencing them by simply expecting the service I paid for. Any attempt to provide guidance or ask questions about the moving process was met with eye rolls and sarcastic remarks. This level of unprofessionalism was not only disheartening but also completely unacceptable.
The disorganization of the moving process was painfully evident as my belongings were mishandled and improperly packed. Fragile items were carelessly tossed into boxes without any consideration for their safety. It was apparent that the movers lacked the necessary training to handle items with care, resulting in several damaged and broken possessions.
To make matters worse, attempts to address these issues with Amerisafe Moving Company's customer service proved to be futile. They were unresponsive and unapologetic, further highlighting their lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. In conclusion, I strongly advise against entrusting your move to Amerisafe Moving Company. The combination of unprofessionalism, disorganization, and disrespect for customers makes them a company to avoid at all costs. My recent experience with Amerisafe Moving Company has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated, as the move turned into a nightmare marked by lost items and damaged goods. This review serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering entrusting their belongings to this company. The most glaring issue was the substantial number of items that went missing during the move. It is both disheartening and infuriating to realize that cherished possessions, including sentimental items and valuable belongings, have vanished without a trace. Despite their claims of a secure and reliable moving process, Amerisafe Moving Company failed miserably in safeguarding my possessions, leaving me with an irreparable sense of loss.
Equally distressing was the condition in which my belongings arrived at the destination. The movers seemed to have little regard for the fragility of my items, resulting in a myriad of damages. Furniture arrived scratched, dented, and in some cases, irreversibly marred. Fragile items were carelessly packed, leading to breakages that could have been easily avoided with a modicum of care and professionalism.
Attempts to address these issues with Amerisafe Moving Company's customer service were met with a shocking lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging their shortcomings and taking responsibility for the lost items and damaged goods, I was met with indifference and excuses. It is abundantly clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority for this company.
The emotional toll of losing cherished items and the financial burden of repairing or replacing damaged goods have made this moving experience one I wish I could erase from memory. Amerisafe Moving Company's incompetence and negligence have left an indelible mark on what should have been a routine and stress-free relocation.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against using Amerisafe Moving Company for your relocation needs. The combination of lost items, damaged goods, and an utter lack of accountability makes them a company that cannot be trusted with the responsibility of handling your possessions. Spare yourself the heartache and frustration by choosing a moving company that values the safety and well-being of your belongings. I called this company to get a quote for a 4-bedroom home with a basement. I was quoted $8k. I should have known better because the guy on the phone was rushing to get a down payment so he could get the sale. They should have sent someone out to look at the items to be moved to give an accurate quote. I ended up paying $21k for a full pack and move because they refused to give me my deposit back.
The actual movers were outsourced. Get this, my wife and I packed up the entire upstairs and boxed it because they didn't have enough workers to get the job done in 2 days as promised. They showed up late both days taking 5 or 6 breaks between. One of the workers asked me to take them home the 1st day after work? What? They hassle you to pay upfront before the job is done and then they beg you for a tip. Hey buddy you didn't even pack the entire house. You should be tipping me. Also after unpacking all the boxes, I realized the liquor somehow did not make it off the truck. Go figure. Stay away!! They are the worst!!

We can store your stuff for you. But let me give you some advice. You get your own storage, because while we can store it for you, we can't guarantee, especially during the summer, when we would be able to get back to move you. And it would be much easier for you to get local movers to move you out of local storage. So in other words, you might have to wait a month for us after you have a home to move it.” So, I went right out and rented my own storage, and had local movers move it when ultimately we moved. And that was good advice. I'm having a good relationship.

I hope this helps someone make a better decision than I did in choosing Amerisafe. The original estimate was $15,100, then I added boxes which brought the cost to over $18,000. I decided not to take a huge entertainment center and a seven piece deck/patio set. Vanguard arrived on 9/15/23 to pack and move me. The foreman did a visual inspection and raised the cost another $10,000. I declined, and told him to fill the truck with as much as he could focusing on the furniture. I had already packed a lot (100-200) boxes. There was minimal packing done on their part. However, they did carefully wrap the furniture with blankets and shrink wrap.
At the end of the “move”, I still have 2/3 of my furniture here at my “old” home, as well as all of my clothes. When I asked the foreman if he was going to leave the remaining boxes that they didn’t have to use here since I am going to have to hire another moving company, he shrugged and said they didn’t come with boxes. When I asked about a refund, he instructed me to talk to Amerisafe. Later, after I complained, he told his supervisor that they went out to buy boxes. Amerisafe is investigating this situation and will let me know if I get a refund or not.
However, the movers were only here six hours, and that is not enough time to load the truck, fill 30 small boxes, 30 medium boxes, 30 large boxes, 16 garment boxes, and 20 or so artwork boxes. No garment boxes or artwork boxes were used because no clothing or artwork was taken. 90 other boxes could not have been used either because the movers stayed on the main level and most of it was packed. The spare boxes, maybe five that I got from a friend, that I had in the garage are gone. My garage was littered with water bottles, pop cans, and a large package of croissants taken from the kitchen. I would have fed these guys if they had let me know. Now they are on their way to IL to drop off furniture with my husband at the “new” house. Please think twice before using this company! Be smarter than I was.

When I first got a moving quote from this company, it was only around $4000, then I added a few small things, they changed the quote to about $5000. On the day of my moving, the mover (not Amerisafe, but a sub-contracted company Amerisafe never told me) came and told me the estimated volume was totally wrong and the volume is actually double what Amerisafe told me, and therefore the moving cost is more than $9000 now (after I agree to deduct 5 large pieces of furniture in the original quote, otherwise the cost would be >$10000). The mover told me this has happened a lot with Amerisafe customers as they always give customers underestimated quotes and the mover always has to increase the volume and price!
The mover arrived later at 4PM, and I had to move out of the house that day, so I had no choice but to agree to the new price and sign a new contract. Also I called Amerisafe to complain about the doubling of the estimate and the price before I signed the new contract, the person from Amerisafe told me that it's already after 7 their time, and I should just continue with the moving, and can call the day after to Amerisafe and they would give me a discount for the additional cost (since she's not the person in charge).
So I took her advice, also because I had no other choice, I signed the new contract and let the mover load my stuff. The mover told me I should not have anything in the desks, filing cabinets and dressers. But the day before I asked people at Amerisafe, they told me I can leave stuff in the desks and filing cabinets. Now it's too late to change that, so I just let the mover loaded my desks and filing cabinets with some folders inside. Afterwards, the mover told me one of my desks was broken due to the folders inside increased the weight. He said Amerisafe should Never told me to leave anything inside the desk or cabinets!
I called Amerisafe afterwards to ask for a refund/discount as the mover doubled my charge, Amerisafe first agreed to contact the mover company to ask for a discount, but the person Never called me back about the discount. I called again a few days later, the manager I talked to was very rude and would not give me any discount/refund. After I paid the mover with cash/zelle payment on the day of the moving, he promised that his company will send me a copy of the new contract, receipt of my payment and record of my stuff they moved. But now it's been more than a weeks, I have NOT received anything from the mover's company!
I feel Amerisafe was a scam by deliberately underestimating my moving volume and cost so I would hire them: if they didn't give me a much lower quote than the other moving companies I asked, I would not hire them!. I just cannot imagine a professional moving company's quote is only half of the real volume (assuming the mover company didn't scam me by inflating the volume). And when my real cost was doubled, they just claim that theirs was an estimate so the real cost could be more or less, and it's not their fault!
Also they argue because I signed a new contract, so they cannot give me any discount. But the fact is that I had to move out that day and I had no other choice but to work with their contracted mover to move my stuff. The sales person who signed me up was available all the time before I signed my contract, but afterwards he never answered my call. The other people I talked to was all very rude and unprofessional. This is not a good company to work with and don't be fooled by their false price quote!!!

This company is a fraud and shouldn’t even be allowed to be in business. They quoted me a reasonable price over the phone for a long distance move, then pressure me into signing the contract electronically on my phone while I was on the phone with their rep. There was no way to read the fine prints and detail terms thoroughly. Then on the moving day, their partner in crime moving company showed up, took a quick glance at my stuff and told me that the stuff was twice as much in volume as the estimate thus I need to pay double, even though everything was within the inventory list and all my furniture were normal size nothing out of ordinary furnitures.
The way they did it was so obvious that they have been doing this on a regular basis. When I got on the phone to complain to the AmeriSafe rep, I was told this was totally normal! I was left with the choice of either pay double, or they take 1/2 of my stuff, or they leave and I lose my deposit. I told them to leave and I will dispute the fraudulent charge with my credit card company. Bottom line, do not do business with this company, do not fall for their schemie low price as their estimate means nothing .

The move out of the house seemed professional and no issues other than that the price went up about $500 because they misestimated what I told them. Now over a week and a half later, I am still waiting for my stuff and haven't received any calls. Originally was told the move should take 4-5 days. How can these companies stay in business when the business practices are so bad.

Many items did not make it to my house. Movers were Russian. Did not speak English. They damaged some antiques and did not bring a bag of clothes and two brand new dog beds. Terrible experience that cost me over $5000 To move from Chicago to Michigan City Indiana. I would never recommend them to anybody.

I called 866-797-5498 to receive a quote for my move. The moving specialist was very rude and unhelpful. Once I disclosed my budget, which was $500 since I am only moving a few small items and not entire bedrooms, he just hung up on me. I can understand if they don't offer the service of moving small shipments, but there is a better way to communicate that.

Ended up losing my bed, mattress, a desk and dresser that didn't get loaded, and all boxes look like they were tossed around and smashed because of the multiple loading and reloading. National just wants to get the contract signed and then they leave you to just guess and get screwed. Horrible company!!! DO NOT TRUST!!!! LIARS AND THIEVES!!! I called this company based on the reviews and was extremely unhappy. They gave me an electronic inventory list which I completed to get my quote. Then I updated the list to add a few extra items, thus paid a little more. They in turn hired Moving Wise. Moving Wise crew arrived and the foreman didn’t even review the list I had already completed with National he looked around at my items and said my items were larger than normal— they were not. I called the manager on duty with National and said Moving Wise stated my stuff was 400 extra square feet. She said that is normal. I ended up paying another 2400. Then turns out once my furniture was delivered Moving Wise Foreman had written extra lines for items I didn’t even have. My recommendation is not to use a broker. Go straight to a company to get exact quotes from the start.

This was the very worst experience of our lives. After moving 5 times with corporate movers, we did this one on our own. I thought I was calling “Nationwide” and the person that answered did not correct me. I was quoted $3000 for the move. After realizing they were a broker and were NOT going to move us, I tried to cancel, but my salesperson would not return my numerous calls.
When the mover came, it was only 1 guy who was recovering from hernia surgery and his 1 helper. He spent several hours in the truck smoking ** and was unable to answer simple questions when asked. He laid out tvs down on their backs for several hours, and after 10 hours, I asked when he was going to start packing our belongings. At that point he explained that he had nobody to help, but he would “figure it out”. This job should have taken 3-4 hours, but took over 12 and we ended up packing every single box ourselves. Our belongings are still in storage while we build our house and overall, we will end up paying almost $20k overall by the time this fiasco is over. We are even considering just letting everything go and starting over at this point, but they have a lot of sentimental stuff. Horrible! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

My move through National Moving Services started out seemingly legitimate but went south as soon as I was about to move. The company they set up for me is US Moving Enterprises. No communication, overcharged and tried to change the date of the move. They admitted that I was overcharged and said they would credit me $611.00 as soon as my payment went through. After many phone calls and texts, I still haven’t gotten it…my move was June 6th. The customer service manager from National, assured me he would handle it. He didn’t and now won’t respond to any texts or calls. Very poor service. I would NEVER recommend this company. I should not have had to run after these people. The whole experience was a nightmare.

I contacted National Moving Service for a long distance move. They were very attentive initially. I relayed the guidelines and the building manager emailed required Certificate of insurance is required certificate of insurances for moving into my building. I also provided an extensive list of what was to be moved. They were hired mid May for a June moving date. I was concerned as my moving date approached that the proper certificates of insurance have not yet been provided by the mover they had brokered with several communications by phone and emails. Less than 24 hours before my pick up date a outdated COI was received, and one COI was never received. Ended up eventually by the time I got to my new home it was found out that the COI they sent was forged and so they had absolutely no insurances required, and it was denied access to moving in to my building.
When the movers that were brokered by National arrived, they were over an hour late. There were two people with no supervisor and they spoke very little English. They were not following the protocols that had been outlined to me by National. Several calls to National. National intern, had contacted the company brokered with, and he called with insulting ranting’s. I was also rebuked by National for my calls. The movers were not packing things correctly, tI was marking the boxes not them, they were in two different rooms so I couldn’t follow, both of them as I am am single. Communication was almost impossible.
Arrival at my destination, resulted in not being admitted access for the movers to move in me into the building, because a lack of any insurance, they had forged document, and indicated they did not have the other type of insurance required. This required me to quickly find a resolution I was able to rent a storage space, which the brokered company moved my items into and then I had to hire a Nother moving company to move me out of there storage unit. The result was another moving fee and storage fees. I was rebuked by National and the brokered mover. Television was broken, family, heirloom, grandfathers clock, broken, artwork damaged and multiple collectibles broken.
Contact with National indicated that they had performed the move. The moving company had no insurance to cover my losses. Informed National I was filing a complaint, and I was referred to a website of theirs, which had no place to file a complaint. I would not recommend National in the brokered moving company was Meeg Movers located near Saint Louis. I am not savvy with my phone, I do have photos of receipts and pictures of broken items, I would be happy to send to the consumer affairs, but have been unable to attach them despite trying.

First, let me explain to anyone reading this review that National Moving Services is not a moving service, it is a broker for movers. They don't move anything, they hire movers who cannot survive without being referred by them to move your property. The first thing they did was give me a price that seemed low, then another guy called days later and we went through my property to be moved piece by piece. The price then almost doubled. I mentioned that this could be considered the "bait and switch" to the guy who went through my property with me, he laughed it off. Our mover was going to be Meeg Moving out of Ballwin, MO. Next, the two guys with the two trucks (one old and probably could not pass inspection, the other a rental) that showed up to move us apparently did not wrap anything to protect it, we did not notice this as when I was watching them, they wrapped a few things and I went back inside.
I noticed when we went to my storage unit to pick up some things at the end of the day, they just basically threw it on the second truck. We arrived in Michigan and found that we were going to have to store our property longer than anticipated, the first month is free for storage and the ones after that are $500 month we were told twice when we were buying this move. I called the mover and told him I needed to pay for the next month and he told me he needed $8,000 for storage! I was dumbfounded. I told him National Moving had told me $500, he said that was wrong but he would call them. Later he called and told me that National said they had a copy of the tape of our calls and that we were never told that, the fee (as stated on the bill of lading that I signed over the computer) would be .50 per cubic foot.
I looked at the bill (too late) and noticed that is what it said in a small box. The price was now about $1,300 a month. I paid that while looking for a home for four months. I tried to call the owner of Meeg Moving several times during this period and he didn't answer, his voicemail was full, and he didn't call me back until he wanted his money. We bought a house and were ready to move, I called the owner and after several tries he answered the phone and asked for the address, which I gave him. A few weeks went by and we hadn't heard from him so I tried to call, no answer.
Finally, he answered the phone and said his guys would be delivering my property tomorrow. Tomorrow came and no one showed up, I called the owner, no answer. Shortly after that, a guy called me and told me their truck was broken down and they would be there in the afternoon tomorrow, that time came and went, I called the driver, he said they were still having problems but would be there in three hours. They showed up four hours later. While unloading our property the movers commented on how all this stuff should have been wrapped and wasn't. Anything wood or metal was scratched or dented including family antiques. Then the driver told me that all our property wasn't there and they would have to bring it later. Two days later they called and said they would be there in three hours. Six hours later they showed up, it was after 8 in the evening.
When they were done unloading we were missing items in addition to the damage that had been done. We told the drivers who told the boss, he said "Make a claim". This claim process involves being paid .60 per pound per damaged item. We knew this going in and will be calling our insurance today to see how to proceed. So, BIG NO to National Moving who takes about half the money just for setting you up with these unprofessional movers. And BIGGER NO to Meeg Moving.

Experience was terrible, the sales associate gave us one estimate and we cancelled another moving option based on that estimate. Granted we understood that it was an estimate so we anticipated some flex in the cost. But then he told us he GROSSLY miscalculated the estimate and gave us one 3x the amount. We had no choice since our move was coming up to go with it anyways. Only for the moving company to get there and tell us that the space reservation was not enough and we would need more space which was even more.
The moving company itself was excellent. They were really nice and did an awesome job. Our problem is with the broker company. Everything about what they do is misleading and shady. They tell you different prices and seriously underestimate the cost. We gave a list of all the stuff we needed moving. I would not recommend anyone use them. I thought I did due diligence but I was wrong. National Moving Services is a federally registered moving company but they sub out the moving to real moving / trucking companies. My representative Collin was very nice and always available by phone, at least until something went wrong. I am moving from Washington to Colorado.
On the scheduled day of the move, I get a call from the actual moving vendor that there is an issue with the truck and my move is delayed a day. Well that is pretty bad but they promise to be there tomorrow morning. Next morning, they call with no caller ID and an unrecognizable number, somehow I do not pickup. They DO NOT leave a voice message. So I call them through National Moving Services, who then calls the trucking company (long phone delay here) and I am told that they called and there was no answer so they did not send the truck and it is too late, they will move me tomorrow. Holy Mackerel, my whole house is packed into boxes and I have paid a deposit and they do not send a truck because I did not answer the phone and they did not leave a voice message. If you want to move with a quality mover, look elsewhere and never use a company that is not really a moving company.

We recently contracted with National Moving Services (formerly Nationwide Moving Services) based on positive internet reviews. Nationwide is a broker, not a direct mover. They subcontract all the work and do not perform an onsite evaluation on the amount of goods to be moved. Without an on-site inspection, you will not get an accurate quote. We got an initial estimate (~22K) which later rose to over $30K after the actual mover showed up. This was two days before closing, so we had no choice but to pay the extra fees. (This final cost was higher than a competitive quote we did not take due to the lower initial bid from National.) The initial estimate was based on information we provided, including a very extensive list of specific items and a description of the size our house, numbers of bedrooms, etc.
From that point on, we never heard again from the person we originally contacted at National, even though we called back several times. The actual move was contracted to Cobra Van Lines, an unfamiliar outfit out of northern NJ, which was 150 miles from our house in the wrong direction from our move. When the movers showed up, their comment was “wow, we’ve never done a move this big.” That did not inspire confidence in my wife and myself! We had a three bedroom, two bath house of 1700 square feet. This was not a very large home, but we did have quite a few items to move.
The Cobra movers informed us we would need additional space on the truck and half of the additional fee had to be paid upfront. What National did not tell us was that Cobra Van Lines charges 6% for all credit card transaction! (We had used a credit card for the initial deposit with National and did not have to pay any additional fees.) We had to go to the bank that day and get a bank check before they would start loading the truck. (We were not going to pay the 6% CC fee.)The moving process with Cobra involved them filling up a smaller truck and transporting our goods to a warehouse in NJ where they would be loaded on the larger semi-trailer for the cross country run. Because no one from National had come to our house to actually see what needed to be moved, they grossly underestimated the amount of truck space.
The movers showed up at 11:30 on the first day (stuck in traffic making the 150 mile trip to our house) then left at 4:30 when they filled the first truck; mostly with items my wife and I had pre-packed. The second day they brought another truck, but they still underestimated the amount of space, even though they had been in the house the previous day. They ended up filling the second truck by 5 PM (I warned them earlier in the afternoon that it looked like we might run out of space) and it was a mad scramble to get a third truck to complete the loading by 8:30 in the evening, in the rain. (We were closing on the house the next day!) Luckily, I had Venmo so I could cover the cost of that third truck since the banks were closed by then. It was an ugly situation and one I hope no one has to go through. That is why I am reporting this experience.
Cobra Van Lines did a rather poor job packing our goods. We realized that when we received the shipment and found several pieces of furniture and glassware broken, and many items haphazardly packed. Speaking of hazards, they packed a flammable aerosol can and a flammable liquid in cardboard box of books! They packed several things we told them to leave with the house as well as some important items we needed for our cross country trip. Several items went missing altogether.
Even the crew that delivered our goods commented how poorly packed many of the items were. (In fairness, the local delivery crew did a very nice and efficient job unloading our goods.) After all this was done, we could not reach either of the original contacts from National who wrote out the original order. I contacted customer service at National (since they contracted with Cobra Van Lines) and explained how poorly we felt their service was. The customer service person from National was helpful and we will be filing a claim for our losses. Bottom line, do not use brokers like National because you have no control over who is actually doing the job. If a mover is not willing to make in an in-person inspection of your goods to be moved, then the job may be way underestimated and you will have a very unpleasant increase in final cost at the last minute.

It took another 4 hours to unload. The company never reimbursed us for the cost of delay since we had to stay in a hotel after everything was packed up per the original schedule.

This was the first time for me to hire moving services and they did an excellent job from customer service, setting up the reservation, and the integrity of the movers that came to help me out. Should have went with a larger, reputable mover because I paid more and got considerably less. The price nearly DOUBLED from the estimate from $7000 to $13,000. They couldn’t take all my furniture in the truck so it was left behind. When they came to deliver (with only 12 hours notice - they claimed they couldn’t get in touch with me but no missed calls or texts or emails) they said they would be unable to do so because my driveway was too steep. I had to rent 2 storage units and then hire another company to bring my furniture to my house. As I watched them offload into storage I noticed many of my very, very expensive items were broken or scratched. They dropped a $4000 sofa table in front of me and broke the marble top and the metal weld. It was a terrible experience - they get you to sign by offering a cheap price and then constantly increase it.

Original Review: May 22, 2023
National Moving Services is a broker and they are not the real moving company. They subcontract with the real moving company. They are absolutely horrible. They don't care about customer experience or service. Once they make the sale and take your deposit, they have hidden fees which double or triple the cost of your move and blame it on labor costs of the subcontracted moving company. And they do not take accountability at all about these extra costs and they do not care about delivering excellent customer service. Even worse, they don't give you accurate pick up and delivery dates because they have no real control of these dates. DO NOT USE THEM...HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and they don't care. Would have given negative 5 stars if that were an option.

I want to say upfront that we have not moved with National yet, so I can only speak to my experience thus far. The salesperson was patient, answered several questions I had, and seemed to care about making me a satisfied customer. Their rates seemed so much better than the competitors' -- I got a total of 3 quotes --that I willingly put down a sizeable down payment equal to 30% of our cross-country move. I also liked that we could change our move date at no extra cost with at least one week's notice. The quoted price includes packing, yet still fell far below competitors' quotes. Apparently National is a new company. We'll see how they perform, and are optimistic that they will do a fine job. Stay tuned!

Please for the love of God do not use this company. They screwed us over big time. Brandon ** was the sales representative. I told him I’d be moving TWO ROOMS WORTH of stuff. He then asked me to list what big furniture items I have so I mentioned: two dressers, two nightstands, two tvs, a bed, bed frame, etc. Little did I know that list was what he was charging me for and documented that that was ALL I was moving. So when the ACTUAL moving company (I had no clue that National Moving Services was a third-party “broker”) came to grab our stuff the price changed from $2,500 to $6,600. I didn’t know I needed to include how much clothes and small items there would be- again I told Brandon TWO rooms worth. He only reported the furniture.
A couple days after my initial phone call with Brandon **, I also asked him to add a couch to our list and update our destination address... he didn’t even do that. My first call with him was on May 9th, telling him I would need the items by May 25th (moving from California to Virginia). He said I would receive the items by May 24th or the 25th... come to find out after talking with the ACTUAL moving company, it will be around 30 business days. When I asked how much room on the truck we have, Brandon told me 26ft. My understanding was that we had a 26ft truck for ourselves to pack two rooms worth of stuff for $2,500. The actual moving company said that the truck will be shared with other people’s stuff and then taken to a warehouse, and that everything Brandon documented on the contract was not accurate.
The moving company informed me that he sees this happen every day and that they screw people over who have no idea what they are doing. He said to never go through a broker (again I didn’t even know they were a broker). The actual moving company had so many additional charges - for boxes, taking a tv down, asking for a weigh slip, putting cardboard around a dresser, etc. NMS basically takes your money to get you in touch with a real moving company who will then charge you for the accurate amount you’re shipping. Again, Brandon made the situation seem completely different. It was basically a “bait & switch”.
After Brandon from NMS, received my money, he was no longer responding to my texts/questions about details and adding a couch to the list. After I found out all this stuff from the actual moving company, I then confronted him via text about screwing me over. He THEN replied and was incredibly rude (was almost a bit threatening). It was incredibly unprofessional. He told me “learn how to read”. And when I told him I’d be writing a review with his name, he said “good luck”. I was in shock with the disgusting customer service.
Brandon provided me inaccurate and false information via phone and text. When I tried to go back to the link they provided so I can look at the quote and re-read their terms, the link was no longer available... of course. I then emailed asking for a PDF of it, once they sent it I realized they changed the sales representative name to a Frank **- whom I’ve never spoken to. I understand they have written terms in the contract but Brandon should have communicated accurately. My husband is in the military and we were ordered a quick move so we’ve been under a lot of stress - this was the last thing we needed. NMS is not BBB accredited and there are hundreds of horrible reviews within the past year - all people experiencing with the same issue. I wish I did more research before agreeing to use them. I am furious.

Both National moving service and the moving company kept overestimating my space, and kept overcharging me. He took weeks to answer me back on simple questions and I had to escalate to his boss several times – who also did absolutely nothing.
First, I was promised a quote that was half of what I was charged in the end. I understand there are add-ons, but no one ever discussed with me upfront about the additional charges. They took almost 8 weeks to get my stuff shipped out when I was promised 10 days. When it arrived, the staff demanded I pay an extra $3,000 or my stuff would essentially be held hostage. It had to be cash or through Venmo which is super sketch and impossible to reimburse. The manager was SO rude yelling at me and I could not believe it.
Once they started unloading my stuff, I noticed almost every single thing was damaged, broken, or missing. I have about $6,000 worth of damages – two TVs completely broken, bed frame, mirror, my desk was in 10-12 pieces completely broken, lamp, my dresser and all the knobs, laundry drying rack, nightstands – pretty much everything. I had things missing too – shelves and two boxes. No one was helpful with trying to find out where these items could have been. The way everything arrived was like a child packaged it. The TVs had no padding, duct tape was on everything which ripped off the top of every surface, huge dents in my furniture.
I had to push back my family vacation because they were so late with delivering my items. I’ve had to buy everything new after spending so much money on this delivery service. There has been no remorse or help AT ALL from the team. I can’t even believe these kind of people exist in the service industry. It is sickening and this has definitely been a traumatizing experience. I am going to move everything on my own moving forward because this was so absurd, so expensive, and so devastating. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!!
Kelly, Nationwide is very sorry your move did not go as planned. If you have not filed a claim with the carriers insurance please call our customer service dept someone will be able to help you file a claim against the carrier for any damages you have.

Nationwide Moving Services is the worst moving service company. They drop some of my stuff in Colorado and I was moving to NYC. They have misplaced a box of personal documents, ottoman, damaged bedside light and I can't get through to them by emails, phone calls and text messages. They've basically disappeared from the surface of the earth and they charged me extra. I'm talking to an attorney to see what my options are. I don't think they deserve a star but I could not post without giving them one.
Nationwide is very sorry to hear, you did not have a good experience with our company. If you have any other questions please dont hesitate to call our customer service dept.

Very good experience this far. Our actual move has not taken place yet, but if it's as good as the negotiations for the pick-up, I am really looking forward to it. The employee was polite and quite patient with us as we did our prep for the move.
Kevin, are are very happy Nationwide moving services was able to help you with your long distance move. If you need any other help please dont hesitate to call.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! SCAM ARTISTS. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THESE BEFORE BOOKING! Zero stars but it made me pick one to post. I have NEVER dealt with such a sleazy, scamming company in all my life and looking at other reviews I'm not the only one with this story. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB but in the meanwhile I don't want anyone to have to go through what my husband and I have.
The original estimate was quoted at 551 cubic ft after confirming number/size of items on 3 separate calls and multiple emails. On the day of the move we were charged an additional 600cubic ft and we were told about this once all of our items were already on the truck. We paid DOUBLE from the original quote. We immediately called customer service to complain (while the movers were still there, but this was Sunday so no one actually to speak to) and were told that a note would be made on our account about it and someone would contact us the next day. Mind you we were then stuck with the contracted company (beware you won't get the nationwide movers you think you're booking) and our whole lives on their truck already at this point.
The photos attached are of the truck once completely loaded and it was much less than even half way full, for a truck that could hold 1600cubic feet total packed to the brim. We lived in a completely furnished house so had very few items. We also had additional charges of $400 for "bulky" items listed as our peloton bike. However, this peloton bike was on our original estimate so the movers the day of took the liberty to call this a bulky item and charge more. When we spoke to the supervisor of Nationwide she claimed "well they come in different sizes", we all know they absolutely do not.
There were also multiple broken items which included; the base of our flat screen TV (the mover chose to not remove the legs prior to wrapping with tape so broke the leg in half before even leaving our bedroom), our large armoire they chose to flip/roll to move instead of picking it up and slammed it down on its side on a downhill two steps down from our porch to the concrete driveway cracking one of the legs, 4 wine glasses we had just gotten as wedding gifts, and the framing of a painting.
The most upsetting event that occurred during our move. One of the movers was SMOKING IN OUR TRUCK WITH ALL OF OUR THINGS, which has resulted in our clothes and couch reeking of smoke. We are not a smoking household and it was completely disrespectful of our items. Finally, we were charged an additional $1000 dollars for an expedited move on the morning of our move, which as you can clearly see from the emails from a nationwide employee, Brandon states this was included in the estimate--we had confirmed this on 3 separate occasions with him and another employee who helped with the estimate.
We contacted customer service on Monday 8/29 after not receiving the call we were supposed to from the previous day and they stated they could see the notation on our account and they would have a supervisor give us a call that day. Multiple days went by, no call. We called again and the secretary stated the supervisor was swamped with calls and she would leave a post it note but that we would receive a call by end of business day. Eight days later we finally spoke to a supervisor, Aidan, who we sent all of our pictures and information to.
Two days later she tells us that we signed the paperwork and she can tell nothing by the photos we sent and Brandon "shouldn't have told us that it was included in the quote" but again there was nothing she could do about it. After yelling on the phone saying the only person higher than her was the owner of the company and she doesn't know what we expect her to do about it because she wasn't there and "it is what it is" she said she could offer us $200 HOWEVER this is with the caveat that we would require signing a waiver to not enforce legal action for what occurred, otherwise we should seek legal counsel against the contracted carrier.
Maggie, we are very sorry you did not have a good experience with our movers. You can call our customer service dept to go over any prices and explanations

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT TO FOOL CUSTOMERS TO SIGN A CONTRACT. I booked Nationwide for a long distance (within the state) move. They lied since day 1. Collin ** (Senior Moving Coordinator) gave me a quote but didn't add the number of boxes that I mentioned AND told me, "Oh that's fine we don't need to add the boxes because you're under the max number of boxes" AND confirmed in writing that it will take 3 days for stuff to be delivered. Close to the move date I found out that I will be charged extra for all the boxes that I had clearly mentioned while booking and the actual movers confirmed it will take minimum 7 days (WOW). I wouldn't have signed a contract if I knew it will take that many days.
On the day of the move, movers showed up 2 hours late and after loading half the truck told me "Oh, you got the wrong size estimate from Nationwide. It will be 2.5 times the size and double the money". They literally tried to charge me $5400 after loading half the truck instead of $2700 (signed quote given by Nationwide). I had a few extra items which I agreed to pay extra for, but, the mover was persistent that Nationwide gave me the incorrect size estimate and I would have to pay double or else they will just leave my stuff on the street. WOW like really WOW. I cancelled the contract and they refused to return my deposit. Definitely stay away from this company.
Ankur, we are sorry the delivery dates did not meet the windows you were looking for. Nationwide moving services try to accomodate all customers request.

Leo the broker had access to our house via Zillow because it is on sale. We pointed out all furniture items that we planned on taking and when the trucking company came to pick up our stuff we were told that the broker did not reserve enough room on the truck for all of our stuff. We had to pay them extra money and still could not take everything. Also Leo provided his direct number and said that we could contact him with any questions etc. however that was not true. After the move was booked he said that he could no longer assist. Supervisor was also not helpful. Customer service Kathy was very kind and helpful. I would not use this company again.
Margarit, Nationwide moving is sorry to hear we did not have enough room reserved on the truck for you cross country move. We are happy to hear kathy was able to be helpful.

I have contracted with Nationwide Moving Services to move my furniture from Marina, California to Longview, Texas. My moving date was scheduled for May 10. This date was confirmed. My contact driver's name is Mr. ****. He has changed my moving dates from May 10 to 11, 12, 13 and 14. Today, he is telling me that the movers will be at my apartment on Sunday, May 15. I have paid Nationwide Moving Services a cashier's check in the amount of $2,498.08. When they quoted me this fee, I was told it would include everything and I would not have to pay anymore money.
Mr. **** referred me to another driver that I could not understand a word that he was saying. Because of these changes, I also had to pay for extra days to live in my apartment, change my train ticket twice and will need to live in a hotel for two days. My train leaves for Longview, Texas on Sunday at 1:20 am. I cannot leave until Wednesday or Friday. Also, Mr. **** told me to leave my furniture in my apartment and that they would pick it up and deliver it to my home. My reply was a "No, No!” I would like for an attorney to contact me on this matter.
