Amerisafe reached out and provided a full refund.
Original Review: July 29, 2024
All caps so you see before using. If you ignore my review I strongly advise not using your debit card. You can't dispute a debit card charge. This was my experience with these guys. I called a month in advanced for a move date and made a 600 dollar deposit. They made it sound really good, well when the moving date arrived I was informed anytime between 0800 and 1 pm. Well 12:30 rolled around. I called Amerisafe and was met with attitude. 1 pm rolled around. I called again and was met with attitude that the mover would be in contact shortly, 3:30 pm no contact. 4:00 pm movers call and say they are 30 min away. 5:00 pm they call and say they went to the wrong address and they would be at my home in 45 min. 6:10 pm I call and they say, "Sorry. We will be there by 8pm."
I called Amerisafe and was told the movers would come. 9pm comes around and 1 guy showed up in crocks.... Physically unable to do the move. He quoted me a additional 1600 on top of the 600 dollar deposit, but since I had to be out the home that night I was unable to wait for them to show up the following day. When I emailed Amerisafe for a refund due to the contract being broken on their end they said it's not possible since 72 hours since my deposit was made has passed.. But because of the issues I was having they would refund 300.. It's been 65 days with no refund. I have filed a charge back on my cc for the fraudulent charge. Rude, liars, conmen. Horrible service.

Our quote for a one bedroom apt move was reasonable. To assist with the revisions I sent photos of the items to be moved. Payment was a third upfront with the rest at pick up and delivery with money orders, as required. Biggest surprise on moving day was that the actual cost was 53% higher than quoted!!! I was livid! Apparently AmeriSafe did not adjust the revised weights including a couple "oversized items" that increased the cost. So at the last minute we had to scramble to get money orders to cover the delivery. How unprofessional and unnecessary!! I will never use or recommend this company!! Safe yourself the same aggravation and find a better mover!!!

They moved my whole house across state lines. Setting up was super easy and they didn’t need much direction at all. It was a Seamless operation. Unloaded the whole truck very fast and efficiently. Didn’t scratch any furniture. They are Hard workers with a great attitude. I Would easily recommend them for anyone moving. Thanks!

Like so many others… DO NOT USE this horribly shady company. I booked a move from FL to MO. I was told max cost 4000. I have an already packed storage unit for a 1 bedroom apartment. Amerisafe told me that Friday was my moving day and that Saturday was backup for inclement weather. I was also told that I would be called Thursday with the approximate time for movers to arrive. No one contacted me on Thursday so I called them. Was told, "Your move is Saturday and someone will call you Friday."
By 5PM Friday, no one had called so I had to call them again. Was told that the movers would arrive between 2 and 6 to a storage unit. Then when the movers there they are in a Budget truck. They are a private moving company subcontracted by United Movers. Leo, from United Movers calls me and tells me before even having 1/4 of my stuff loaded that my move is going to cost me $5660. Then he tells me that I am going to be charged 4% credit card fee if I can’t Zelle the amount to him. On top of this…my move is not finished until almost 10 PM on Saturday and Leo tells me that I need to be in Missouri on Monday to receive delivery of my household goods.
I am basically threatened that if I can’t be in Missouri on Monday that my stuff will be unloaded and placed in an undisclosed third-party storage and he has the right to hold my stuff up to twenty days. He can’t guarantee the date of delivery. It could be Thursday, Friday, or maybe Saturday. When I tried to contact Amerisafe they never returned my call. Save your money and arrange your own move. Amerisafe and United Movers are HORRIBLE. The actual independent mover was great and was caught in this scheme as well. I wish I would have researched better and found my own moving company. I simply paid two extra companies to lie to me just to get my business and then not do the things they promised!

I wish I had done my research on this company. They give you a lowball quote and then it’s 3x more when the contracted movers arrive! They know you’re stuck at that point. Rude and unprofessional!! They are a broker and then subcontract the work. They will say anything to get your money. When I asked to speak with a manager to share my complaints, I was told no and hung up on. Learn from my mistake and do not trust them!

This was my first time using a moving service, and I’m very disappointed with AmeriSafe’s service. I moved from PA to MA. The pick-up and packing was all fine but they kept pushing back the arrival time frame. The first time I called and got the quote, they said that it would take 4 days at most, so I packed accordingly. Then I don’t hear literally anything for days after my pick-up so I call to check in. They then say it’ll be 7 days at most from my pick-up. I waited 3 days and then called again when I still heard nothing. This time they told me it would probably be 10 days from my pick up and that my stuff hadn’t even been loaded yet. There were no delays or apologies given.
I’ve never used a moving service before so I’m not sure if this sort of time frame is standard (although from talking to other people I don’t think it is for the distance I’m traveling). What I’m most annoyed by is the awful communication. Why wasn’t I given an accurate time frame originally? I would have packed differently if I knew I’d have to go this long without everything I packed. Every time I’ve called I’ve been told a later time frame than previously.

This company took advantage of an 82 year old with dementia. She hired them just by googling “good moving company” not knowing they are out of Florida - she is in Arkansas. Made her put 7k down payment and a total of 14k to move a 2 bedroom across town. When we the family found out and tried to cancel over 30 days before the scheduled move, the company refused to give back deposit. Horrible experience and likely just scammers. Local movers charged her $1600.

A terrible experience overall. Hired them to move my one bedroom condo from San Diego to Minneapolis. I was told at the time I signed the paperwork that my stuff would be arriving in 7-10 business days from pickup. That was on June 28th and it’s now July 23rd and I still don’t have an ETA for when it’s coming. They just blame everything on the 3rd parties they contract with. It’s been almost a month since they picked up my stuff and I’ve been living on an air mattress because of it and NO ONE cares.

Only one piece of furniture was protected by wrapping in blanket. My grandmother’s dresser was damaged. I requested all furniture be loaded in the truck FIRST. Mover told me there was enough room and loaded the garage first. Not enough room on the truck to put all the furniture! Boxes were delivered to wrong place even though every box and tote container was labeled…. kitchen, bathroom, garage, basement etc. I spent half of the next day putting boxes where the movers should have put them. I had to rent a truck to move the rest of the furniture.

I used AmeriSafe to move a relatively small amount of items from Pittsburgh to Phoenix. Everything felt on the up and up but it’s been almost a month and I still do not have my stuff. They said they can’t check on the weekends but to call them on Monday. This is terrifying. I don’t have much in this world but what I do have was loaded into their truck and I am afraid I’ll never see it again.
I’m so sad/mad/resolved that I’m going to take whoever I need to to court and I will try to get some justice for everyone on this thread who said they were scammed. Luckily, I have a fantastic attorney who has experience taking down big operations like AmeriSafe. Given the wait time, cost of purchasing new items since my stuff did not arrive, and all the money I gave them throughout the process, I hope to shut them down for good.
I’ll come back and let y’all know if there’s a potential class-action lawsuit here. At least we’d get some compensation for the heartache and personal violations of this company. Or maybe my stuff will ACTUALLY arrive this week. I’m not holding my breath but if they are checking reviews, I hope they know to give me my stuff or they are going to be put out of business. This is ridiculous.

Let me begin by saying that I usually do not make reviews, but I felt a deep need to warn other folks! My first encounter with Amerisafe was spectacular! I worked with an amazing representative named Colin who was so patient, knowledgeable, and kind several months before I moved. Once my moving date became closer I made very few changes to my inventory that resulted in an immediate charge of over $1,000 same day. Warning: have your inventory items correct the day of your quote because if not you will be expected to pay any changes same day! This was an understandable requirement so I continued to persist with this company.
Also, once you sign the contract you are bound to this company. The issues arose with the delivery company that they contract. This was a cross country move. In the picture provided you can see the first image of a mover standing in front of a shattered large round glass fixture that was used for a painting piece. When I received word (not from the movers) but from a friend in the area who was monitoring my move that they shattered my glass fixture, I contacted the movers. I was told that they were going to throw my item in the dumpster because “it couldn’t fit on their truck anyway.” How could it be possible that an inventory item “couldn’t fit on their truck”? As I was in a different state from my items I asked for them to deliver it to me broken, the answer was no. This is the first issue I experienced.
I then reached out to the representative that I had such a great relationship with in the beginning, Colin, through voicemail and email at least 5x. I received no response to this day. All he did was take my money and figuratively left me to the wolves. Next, I called customer service about the break of my items they informed me that I would have to wait until my inventory was received before they could rectify the issue. This was understandable at the time so I agreed. After a week of not hearing an updates about my items I called the delivery company who stated that I should have heard back days ago. I then called Amerisafe customer service who told me it was out of their hands. Oh! Another situation that occurred prior to the mover breaking my items was that they could not initially begin moving my items due to Amerisafe not communicating with their agency regarding the up-to-date inventory (perhaps that’s why they didn’t have enough room on their truck).
After about two and a half weeks of having none of my items, I finally received a call that my items were en route. Now, when I worked with Colin l, I gave him a specific day that I would like to receive my items because I would be moving into my home by that date so it was necessary that I had my furniture (at least a bed) around the date given. When I mentioned this to Amerisafe customer service I was told the date I gave was more of a suggestion rather than the timeline that they would attempt for me to receive my items. Nevertheless, I continued to persist.
My items finally arrived in the state I was in and the movers worked really diligently. I am a grateful to them. However, pictured in the next two pictures you can see that I received only a portion of my headboard and a broken bookshelf. I also had to ask the driver for other items that he said were not tagged so they were unsure who they belonged to. I also was asked to confirm that several items were mine again, due to their faulty tagging system. Next, I thanked the brilliant delivery team for their time (they truly were personable and polite). Now that I received my items I had to do a thorough inspection. Reminder: I moved my home across the country. So this inspection took some time.
Once I reviewed my items I documented the big items that I received broken and those that were thrown into the dumpster, which I never received. I contacted Amerisafe whom for whatever reason was unsure of the logistics in how to rectify these issues. I explained that I had moving insurance and they did not know if they should take the claim or if my insurance should. I asked them to take the claim anyway (I have no idea what happened to this claim to this day). I then contacted my insurance (who by the way was provided as a contractor through Amerisafe) and they explained that the only way to file a claim was online. This was possible but I really wanted to work with a person through this process rather than push paper. Nevertheless, I filed the claim and then received emails from 3 different representatives all who had different business names.
For instance, I knew I worked with Amerisafe but I’m assuming they contract out for a lot of things so I Received emails from representatives of different companies I’m assuming Amerisafe shared my claim with. I truly have no idea as this was never communicated to me. In addition, I’m very concerned that all of these individuals somehow had access to my contact information and moving information when I never heard of them. I only signed a contract with Amerisafe explicitly. To conclude this very detailed review of my personal experience and warning of anyone who reads this to not use this company for any move. My claim was denied. I was told I responded 2 days after it was supposedly due. This is interesting because the process to even submit a claim was unclear and I needed time to review my items.
So, all in all I paid over 5k to receive or never receive 3 big items (headboard, bookshelf, glass fixture) damaged. Several other items like bowls, etc. damaged. A few boxes I actually never received containing miscellaneous items. I paid to never be in contact with the first representative, have my information be dispersed to several other companies I never heard of, the process of my claim being unclear and denied while I have proof of my items being damaged, a timeline that was ensured to me only to never happen, and a no other follow-up by Amerisafe with whom I trusted with my items.
If you do choose Amerisafe, I hope and pray that your experience is much better than mine. I would not recommend this company and truly encourage you to have them document the claim process prior to you signing the contract as well as give you more information on how long between your items being picked up, en route, and delivered to you is a realistic timeline. If you read this whole review, you are thoroughly informed. I encourage you to not let my experience fall on deaf ears.

Amerisafe is one of the worst, and least customer-centric, companies I have ever worked with. We spent over $12K to move from Dallas, TX to Knoxville, TN and were promised “white glove” service from end to end. In fact, the company initially underbid us (leading to headache and additional costs later), the packing was inconsistent and haphazard, the carrier was non-communicative and missed several promised delivery dates with no explanation, and customer service was largely unhelpful, curt, and in some cases, outright rude.
Initial Bid: Amerisafe took inventory over the phone, which surprised and concerned me from the start. But I decided to trust that “the professionals” could give an accurate estimate this way (Big mistake). Reading the contract later, I apparently “waived my right” to an in-person inventory, which no one ever discussed with me. The way they managed this meant that the movers arrived with too small of a truck and not enough packing supplies. I ended up going out and buying more supplies the day of the move. I also paid an additional $900 over the initial estimate for the extra square footage.
Packing and loading: Amerisafe hired SD&J moving, which hired day laborers to pack the house (so, sub-sub-contractors…typically not a great way to manage quality). While two of the packers were conscientious and careful with our belongings, the half dozen or so others that showed up were not. Poor packing led to damage that could have been prevented, including a gash in our $4,000 piano, despite me asking them directly if they had something to cover it when I saw them loading it uncovered…which they ultimately did not do. (The contract did state that they would cover all furniture with packing blankets. They did not do that). Several other items were damaged due to poor packing, and our couches and a recliner also came with dirt and mud all along one side, which took over an hour to clean.
Also, despite agreeing to pay to move the extra goods the day of the move, the packers left the job half-done, leaving me to pack the rest of the house and move it to the garage by myself, since we had cleaners coming the next morning and needed the house clear. I communicated this to the packers before they left, but they made it clear that was not their problem.
Transportation and unloading: The day of the move, the SD&J driver said our belongings would be delivered in 2-5 days. A week and a few messages to the dispatch manager later, I reached out to Amerisafe customer service and was told that, given the distance, the carrier actually had 2-14 days to deliver. I guess I should have read the fine print rather than trust the driver knew what he was talking about. Fine, partly my fault for being trusting.
We received a partial delivery a few days later. But despite it not being a full delivery, we were told we had to pay in full “or they would take it all back and put it in storage” (Yes, threats.). We hesitantly paid and were told the second truck had already left and would arrive the next day. Another week later with no communication from the dispatch manager (despite more attempts), I called Amerisafe customer service again and was put off again. It has now been more than a month since our initial availability date for the delivery and we are still without the second load, despite paying in full.
At this point, SD&J has promised and failed to deliver more than 5 times. In the meantime, we are without dressers with our children’s clothing, half of our master bed (meaning we’ve been sleeping on the floor this entire time), storage shelving needed to organize our things, and several other items. We have no idea where our belongings are or when they will arrive.
Customer service: My interactions with customer service have not been a highlight. I will admit to losing my patience on one of the calls where the agent was particularly dismissive and rude. However, my experiences have made it abundantly clear that I am not a priority. Rather than fight for me, or even show empathy, I have been given excuses and told numerous times what the carrier is “legally” allowed to do. In one call, to excuse the dispatch manager for disregarding my messages (after failing to deliver), I was literally told “it’s not unexpected that they wouldn’t respond to [my] calls or texts if they don’t have an update.” My question is, how on earth could they not have an update, when they have missed multiple deliveries? They can’t even tell me where my stuff is or what is causing the constant delays.
Overall, it seems that customers mean nothing to either Amerisafe or SD&J. In my experience, all they care about is making the sale and getting their money. Once they had that, all semblance of service, professionalism, and integrity have flown out the window. If I knew a few months ago what I know now, I would definitely have selected a different company.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Carefully review their cancellation policy before using this company. It is a scam. My 82 year old grandma with dementia hired this company without our family’s knowledge, and put down a deposit of over $7000. The total was going to be over $14,000!! For a small distance within our state, and a small house. My grandma did not understand that she was hiring out of state movers. By the time I realized her error, I tried to help her get it cancelled. They only gave her back $1400 of her $7000 deposit, even though we tried to cancel WEEKS in advance. When I explained to Kris (in charge of cancellation) of her situation, he was not at all understanding and said they wouldn’t change their policy for anyone. So they basically got $6000 out of my grandma for no services rendered at all. I am not one to complain, this is the first negative review I have written in my life. I’m disgusted with this company.

I have been helping my family contact movers to get a variety of quotes (we have been burned by previous movers being dishonest). It was my first time doing something like this and I tried to be as polite as possible because I want the best possible outcome for my family. I spoke with Sam, who was very professional at the start and asked legitimately helpful questions. He then offered the best rate we had been quoted for, if I was willing to pull the trigger immediately. I informed him I was not the final decision maker, and was just collecting quotes to compare, to make it easier for my family.
I may have said something upsetting to him, but he immediately switched his time and said I was being disrespectful and could go along with scam companies and that were not a good match. Before I could respond or ask what I had done wrong (so I could avoid it in the future) he hung up. I was legitimately stunned, I’ve rarely ever had such an abrupt change from a salesperson. He then had the audacity to send me a quote with an adjusted rate much higher than the one offered. Overall I found this interaction to be a very poor reflection of a company. I am new to this process and did everything I could to provide accurate information to my situation. He was amicable and very straightforward until the final rate, where it felt like he was trying to strong arm me into a snap decision. I’ve seen great reviews, but at least in my experience they were very rude.

If I could rate this company, a zero I absolutely would. Not only did they not deliver my furniture on time they destroyed several pieces, scratched up more, somehow lost a king size mattress, my leaf blower was missing, my piggy bank was probably about $50 and it was missing and they managed to smash my 55 inch TV to where I was in operable, they are very rude and cooperative and unprofessional. I would advise not to use a broker and to go straight to a moving company. You don’t know who’s going to be picking your furniture up, a different person delivers them and a different truck. Therefore, they’re putting it in a storage unit before it gets to you and three different people Are touch your furniture at each drop. Please rethink before using a broker.

As far as movers, they are quick and efficient. However be warned that the initial price you may have discussed with the representative will be way different than the price initially stated. Make sure to have your expenses in line because you may have to pay an additional 2 to 3 grand extra for the true fees. Customer service is great but again, they should stick to their initial prices and not bring in a completely different price day of pickups. Aside from that, the movers themselves are like I said quick and efficient.

3) And finally when the driver called to arrange DELIVERY he was rude and surly absolutely impossible to deal with. His accent was so thick, he was not understandable and he demanded not request BUT DEMANDED I make sure he could back his truck in to unload. He was rude and surly and acted in no manner consistent to professional demeanor. I WILL NEVER USED THEM AGAIN. I recently used AmeriSafe for my move, they are a broker company. And they sent me Arena Van lines to move me, and I couldn’t be more pleased with their service. From start to finish, they exceeded my expectations. The team was incredibly professional, handling the packing and loading with great care. They arrived on time and worked diligently, ensuring that everything was securely packed and ready for transport. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly set them apart. If you’re looking for a reliable and trustworthy moving company, I highly recommend AmeriSafe. If you can read this, DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY! This company will scam you, lie to you, and overcharge. They will misrepresent themselves as a moving company, quote you a great price just to get business, take inventory, then triple the price. These people are money hungry, they do not communicate, they only want money and will leave you high and dry with a large bill. These people will charge you long haul delivery fee even if the unit is five doors from the elevator. These people are dishonest. Save yourself the heartache and the extra money. This company utilized three different companies to deliver my things 30+ days from Maryland to Indiana. I REPEAT, “GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!” The movers damaged my belongings and walls. They will pay!

This past spring, after careful consideration and comparison of multiple companies, I decided to hired AmeriSafe moving services after my boss stepped in and tipped the scales, promising me that I would not regret my decision. These folks have assisted 3 of my colleagues in the last year and not a single family could find a complaint with the service. April 28th, my family’s entire 2000 square foot home was packed and loaded, room by room, with meticulous care, consideration and attention to detail. A week later our things were delivered in Florida safe and sound to our new home, properly unloaded as labeled and discussed. Not a single negative incident, resulting in another highly satisfied customer. Thank you so much for smooth move!!!

Please remember the following: The company named Amerisafe we hired for our move was a complete disaster. They initially quoted us $3000 with a percentage down to reserve the move. When we tried to list the items for our small two-room apartment, the boss stopped us, saying it was unnecessary to continue. This should have been a red flag.
Afterwards, we received calls from the different, contracted movers, and they even came on the wrong date. When they saw our items, they insisted that there was too much stuff and no room for it. They then had the audacity to inform us that the price was going to be doubled, just a day before the scheduled move. This was clearly an attempt to scam more money from us. When we called out Amerisafe’s unethical behavior, the boss and managers refused to speak with us. We did not use their services and disputed the $917 deposit. This company engages in deceptive practices and should be avoided at all costs.

I had a move scheduled with Amerisafe on 6/27/24. While the company they brokered out to, Cobra Vanlines, was fine and professional, Amerisafe hasn't been nearly as such. I provided the earliest available delivery date of 7/1/2024 and told if I didn't receive my things within a week of that date then to call them. So, I called today saying that I understand the holiday and busy season meant it might be closer to two weeks and I'd just like to know. Amerisafe customer service told me they "couldn't get a hold of the carrier" and when I expressed that wasn't reassuring, they said they would call me back once they had more information.
After a couple of hours of radio silence, I reached out again and got a nasty customer service agent who told me I need to read the paperwork next time and that my carrier has 30 days from the date of available delivery to get my things to me. Now, I'm being told the truck to get my things isn't even there and won't be until this weekend and to wait until Monday or Tuesday of next week before calling again. I don't mind waiting, but the lack of clarity and communication is concerning and they don't seem to understand or care about that.

They discarded all of our product all of our all of our belongings, you people are moving lives and you cannot care less. Worse company ever. They quote you over the phone but then when the actual movers come, it’s suddenly double the size, which means double the price. In the contract they have all sorts of nickel and dime “extra costs” like if you have more than 7 stairs - there is a stair fee. And the customer service people are the worst! On April 21, 2024, I hired the AmeriSafe Moving Services who contracts with other companies and assigned us to a company called All Points Moving and Storage. AmeriSafe never told me there would be another company moving her belongings. My daughter was moving to Florida and she need her possessions moved.
I specifically told them that my daughter would be in Florida on May 12th and we wanted the items to arrive then or the next day. I called several times to make sure the items would be there because she would be in an empty apartment with no clothing or furniture and she was starting a new job on May 14th. They kept telling me not to worry everything will work out.
On May 9th, All Points Moving and Storage came to pick up the items and they asked for $881. They then informed me I would have to pay an additional $881 was the items arrived in Florida. I paid AmeriSafe $1205.42. Plus on the day of pickup, AmeriSafe said they wanted an additional $200. So, I ended up paying $2967.00 when I was told it would be $$2068.00. All Points said, AmeriSafe should have not charged me the extra $200.
Finally, on May 20th, at 8:10 pm, the items were delivered. It took them 11 days. My daughter was in an empty apartment with no bed, tv, furniture, clothing, etc. When I called they told me the men are not able to drive more than 500 miles a day (the trip was 1219 miles). When I told him I was never told about the mileage and using another company for the moving. He then said very sarcastically, “Well now you know”. They were nasty and very unprofessional. They should have arrived on May 12th. Because of this, she was not able to start work until June 7th, when the next training class was being held. She lost out on 3 1/2 weeks of pay. One man arrived at 8:10 pm to remove all the items from the truck.
A brand new bedroom set that had just been purchased the month before the move was damaged, and several small household items broken. On the top of the dresser is a hole and is cracked. When my daughter called them on May 21st, they lied and said the furniture had been delivered a week earlier on May 13th. After arguing with them they wanted her to get a price on repairs. The furniture was purchased in NY, that store doesn’t have any locations in Florida. But we did send a photo of the damage to the NY store and they said it can not be repaired. I will never recommend AmeriSafe Moving to anyone. They made this move so more stressful than it already was.

I told him they were scammers. BTW they are only brokers out of Florida. You're moving in 30 days not 6 months" "Plus the other company should've provided you a quote the same day not a week later. What kind of scammer is that calling us a scammer. Please have a good day. We do not want to service your route anymore. Good luck with your moving needs."
I am astonished at how unprofessional these people are. When I called the manager he said he didn't want to hear the complaint as it was 9:20 in the morning and his only focus was bringing in money. When the movers came to move my furniture and gave me their quote (which was more than double what I was originally quoted) The AmeriSafe Moving Services dispatcher/ customer services representative did little to nothing to help make the situation better. The price of the move would have been better had I gone directly through the moving company as opposed to going through a third party broker. AmeriSafe basically gave me a false moving quote to get my service and then charge me hefty scheduling fee. Anyone reading this review, please know that AmeriSafe Moving Services are crooks. Do not hire a moving company through a third party broker. Instead just work with the moving company directly.

When I first called to book my move I was impressed with the estimate I was given for a one bedroom to move across the country. They were responsive to my questions and helpful. Fast forward to the actual movers arriving, who by the way, don't work for Amerisafe, I ended up paying DOUBLE for my move because apparently Amerisafe quotes everyone the minimum 350 cubic feet to lock you into the deal, and have completely WRONG estimates of what each inventory item would measure in the truck. At that point, my things were in the truck and I had no choice but to pay. Once my stuff arrived, there were multiple items that were broken and the movers said it wasn't their problem because they are just contractors so they did nothing about it. I do not recommend using them - they aren't an actual moving company, they are just a middle man.

So from a job perspective, overall very well done. However, as a first-time mover there was a bit of anxiety about the process because several AmeriSafe contacts were frequently unavailable and occasionally made you feel like you were a burden to them. I was rushed through the initial contract signing by a sales rep. AmeriSafe reps also frequently told us that our ~200 mile move would be a one day job, which was not the case, and there were sometimes delays. I think you run into more logistical hurdles by using a moving broker, but the price may override those problems if you have some level of time flexibility.

This is a scam. List of grievances with AmeriSafe are as follows.
1. When we signed on with Robert, he promised us that packing services were included and that it did not matter if we had one couch or two. He also made the inventory list different from what I had told him to make the estimate cheaper so that I would sign on. He told us we could cancel for full deposit return up until 72 hours of our move when in reality it was 72 hours from signing the bill of lading. He also told us we would get our stuff within 7 days which everyone else we talked to told us it could take two weeks. He then started ghosting us when we tried to get ahold of him.
2. Despite me telling him multiple times when we wanted to move, he never put our move date on the account, I had to call customer service to get it on the account. The same thing happened when we tried to schedule the pick up for our car.
3. Customer service representatives have been rude every time I have called. They cut me off multiple times and hung up on me several times. Especially when I was trying to explain my frustrations of communication with them.
4. When we updated the inventory list to what we had initially said and added the packing services Robert promised us, it doubled our move cost and no attempts were made to honor what Robert had promised us.
5. We were supposed to get call 24 hours before the move date and we never got a call or voicemail or email. Customer service said they tried to reach us multiple times saturday and sunday (move was scheduled for sunday or monday) but my phone and email show no evidence of them trying to contact us. In the event that my phone didn't notify me of a missed call, I would have expected more than one attempt to contact me or at the very least a voicemail or email. The odds of ALL of my tech dropping all of their attempts at communication (where I have previously not missed a single call, are next to 0). Service rep was rude when I tried to explain that I had no record of them calling and I wanted to cancel my move. After saying multiple times she didn't understand why we wanted to cancel (despite me explaining every time she said that) she hung up without saying anything.
6. I got a call 10 minutes after she hung up from some other guy who asked me again if I wanted to cancel and I said yes. When I called after reaching my destination to list out my grievances, I was told that my move was never canceled. When she asked why I wanted to cancel, she cut me off as I was explaining my situation. She finally sent me a link so I could cancel my move but refused to listen to anything else I had to say after that was completed.
I don't understand how a company can stand by employees who blatantly lie to their customers just to get a sign on. I also don't understand how any of the customer service reps can call themselves customer service when they refuse to listen to me when I try to explain why I am frustrated and hang up on you without warning. It should be noted that in all of my phone conversations I was polite and cordial but to the point. I never raised my voice or cursed or called anyone anything other than ma'am and sir.
It seemed to me that they simply didn't want to listen to my grievances about how my move was being handled. I don't know why I have to call at least twice to get anything done with this company. This company is clearly a scam which starts at the recruiting process where they deliberately lie about the services provided and purposely make the inventory list incorrect so that they can give you a really low estimate. They then don't communicate until it is too late to get your deposit back and any attempts you make to communicate with them are not helpful.

BEWARE and STAY AWAY from this company. This company never revealed that they did not provide the moving themselves. A second company Jackson Movers showed up to the house to pack up, and stated only a mattress could be loaded (that the frame and pillows does not equate to a bed listed as pick up). The moving company charged extra fees because Amerisafe stated that items checked off is not the same as items being picked up. So the fee went from $550 left to pay to $900. All items were loaded on the truck and taken.
They then called us about some tariffs added (such as additional fees for any steps after 10 steps $7.30 for each step, 100 feet from the truck, and many other fees). The day of delivery we then get a call from Jackson Movers stating that they can't deliver our items because of a trucking issue. They had to remove our items from the truck it was loaded, and put it on a Semi Truck. They then told us it was a $400 shuttle fee. Then told us they can't deliver our belonging if we do not pay the additional fees. They are crooks and liars and should have never booked with them.

Buyer beware! This is a sham service. They will not give you an honest quote for services. So the day before you move someone will call and tell you adequate space for all your has not been calculated and you will have to pay thousands more. You've already paid them thousands in deposit so you feel stuck and agree to the higher costs. Then the truck gets there and tells you there isn't enough space on the order and now you have to pay thousands more. My move went from $8500 approximate to about $14000. The day of move it went up to $22000. Plus we were lied to by every person we spoke to. Of course you want to cancel but you are now out of the cancellation window and you are out $8000 in deposits that Amerisafe will not refund- imagine that!

Their sales rep will sweet talk you into signing a great deal, and then the beyond terrible and rude customer service will be absolutely unhelpful. I canceled my household good shipment and car shipment after realizing how terrible they are, and they only canceled my home move. When someone came to pick up my car and I called them saying I had canceled it, they said they never canceled it and took 0 responsibility for their mistake. Said I had to deal with the car pick up company who they assigned to my job. I had paid for an enclosed car shipment (which is also in my agreement), and they contracted the trucking company to do an open shipment.
When I called to discuss this- same thing. They said they can't do anything EVEN THOUGH IT STATES ENCLOSED SHIPPING ON MY FREAKING AGREEMENT. The "customer service "guy said "you're not getting a refund. It's not happening." This company is a total scam. Please save yourself money and more importantly peace of mind during moving and go with someone else.

Amerisafe immediately brokered out the moving to a third party who was terrible. Costs were added by the actual movers that we were not discussed with Amerisafe or on their contract, such as extra wrapping, etc. When we called to try to get this corrected with AMerisafe, they said since we already signed the Bill of Lading with the actual movers, there was nothing they could do. They basically want to have nothing further to do with you after the goods are picked up. They kept saying you have to talk to the actual movers. DO NOT USE this broker. They take no responsibility for anything. Contract directly with actual movers or a more reputable broker.

We had a five-bedroom house and moved from Georgia to Virginia. I booked our move two months prior to the moving date with Conor. At that time, I explained I didn’t want any surprises when the movers arrived and told him we had a large house with a lot of items. I paid for the largest truck available to ensure there would be enough space - I also booked car transport through this company. Conor, the salesperson, promised he would be there for any needs and that I would not encounter any trouble.
The complete opposite happened; a few weeks before the move, I started contacting Conor about the car transport, but he totally ignored me. Eventually, someone else at the company explained they had a three-day window and would not pick up our cars until Sunday, but we were moving on Thursday. So I had to pay top dollar with another (reliable) car transport company to ensure our cars would arrive when we did.
On moving day, the mover didn’t show up until 4:00 pm, even though Conor promised they would be there in the morning. Then the movers started their scam, up-charging me for items like extra boxes and glass coffee tables, even though Conor told me not to worry about those details as I had a large truck reserved. Of course, he would not answer my calls, and one of his coworkers said I should have read the fine print in the contract better. Ultimately, I ended up being forced to pay 20% more than what I was quoted. The movers also arrived in Virginia a day late, and this was supposed to be Amerisafe’s best team. My experience with Amerisafe was horrible and expensive on every level. My advice is never to work with a broker and to avoid this company completely.

This is not a moving company to begin with. This is a broker company that hires someone with a truck to move your stuff. We got stuck with a rude team that complained about the amount of work from the very beginning and told us that "we had more stuff than estimated". However, we were not given a quote for the real price until AFTER our stuff was packed and on the truck. In the evening, we were charged almost three times the quotes amount, which is, when you move, a significant amount of money.
The "pre-payment" we made was not a pre payment at all, it was an additional cost to "lock in the rate per cubic feet". However, the contract displayed this as "buyer deposit", and to this day it is unclear where this - almost a 1.000 dollars - money went to, or why it was so high. Money is due in cash. With the price hike 3 times as much as originally expected, of course we didn't have that just sitting around. By the way the movers treated our things, we are very concerned about the state of our belongings. We foresee that this will become much more of a headache when finding out how much breakage we have.

Unfortunately, we are not able to get any reimbursement for all the damage and loss we encountered while using this company and the horrible subcontractors Arena Van Lines. Aidan did reach out to Arena Van Lines on our behalf without much change in the outcome.
I had contacted Amerisafe numerous times in the past without any offers of compensation. Once I started writing reviews, this review in particular, I received a response. In order to receive any compensation, they required that I update my review to a 4 or 5 star. Which I was willing to do as long as I could remain honest in my review. This was not acceptable and they refused to compensate me for the damages or reimburse the money paid to them for the services they did not adequately deliver. More money was lost using this company than going with the more expensive options out there. They will keep charging you more money with every interaction and you are at their mercy.
Original Review: Never use this company. High pressure sales, low bid, subcontracted movers. Total nightmare. Was assured they had a climate controlled warehouse with no rodents. Big lie! I could give 0 stars, I would. Please spare yourself a worse headache than moving already is if you hire these thiefs. First, my mistake not realizing they provide "moving services" so they are brokers meaning you are hiring them to hire someone you don't know to move your things, rip you off and treat you so poorly that we were appalled. The first 1 lady in customer service was the nastiest, most unprofessional person I've ever spoken to. She was condescending, rude and hung up on me when I questioned the binding fee to which her answer was "basically for hiring us". What? She refused to put a supervisor on the phone 'cause she was one! Again, what? The 4 people that followed were the same, lack of empathy and no accountability for crappy service! The last man I spoke to asked me to send an email to him about my complaint and when I said, "Will the owner see this?" He said, "probably not". Again, what's going there?
The price is ridiculous and there is no break down that makes sense. They did not say anything about the actual moving co. until the day before when it was too late. We paid our deposit w a c.c. but then the moving co not AmeriSafe said they needed cash or check. Who does that anymore? We didn't have either and it was Sunday! We did not get our stuff the same day because of this so we had to sleep on the floor. The only positive experience for us was the moving guys Johnny and his crew were nice. We basically spent over 6k to be treated with no professionalism or respect, and a truck. I later found out Two Men and a Truck would do it for half the price. My bad for not being more thorough but moving is difficult enough without businesses like this taking advantage of people during difficult times. It's shameful. Their website lies about their values, they have none.

Original Review: May 27, 2024
I scheduled a move from Cary, NC to Lewisville, TX with Amerisafe in April for a move in May. From the moment my goods were picked up, I realized that Amerisafe is a scam, and every interaction with customer service following has only confirmed that. My goods were picked up on May 15 by two Hispanic men who had to use Google translator to communicate with us. The two men were 4 hours late to pick up, and because of this, I was unable to be there, but my fiancée and her mother were. We were quoted $2700 for 510 cu. ft. of space on the truck. By the time the truck was loaded, the movers said “You took up 1,100 cubic ft but we’re going to give you a great deal and only charge you for 900!” This is a common tactic- we are going to increase the price and give you a discount on that, and it’s still going to be far more than the original quote.
I have a 950 sq ft apartment and threw away my couch and table prior to moving - it is impossible that we could have taken even 900 cubic feet, yet that is what they said and caused our quote to increase from $2,700 to $4,400. When I called Amerisafe customer service, I was told that they would not help because it is now in the hands of the moving company that they set up, PRIOR TO THE BILL OF LADING BEING SIGNED, and customer service hung up on me and proceeded to send me to voicemail every consecutive call after.
If you hear that Cobra Van Lines will be touching your stuff at any point, run the opposite direction. It has now been 12 days with no word on where our stuff is, and neither Amerisafe nor Cobra has been able to provide an update. Amerisafe is a scam of a company that does not provide any sort of actual or accurate estimates, and they simply charge you thousands to do no more than put you in contact with an actual moving company. Don’t use them unless you want to begin a series of events leading to you waiting weeks for your things to arrive for double the price you were quoted.

Though, the 4,000 discrepancy in estimate v.s. final total is still frustrating. - I will say, If you use AmeriSafe, please note that you CAN call them if there is a difference in final price and they can possibly renegotiate. (I was unaware of this.)

I think it is important that I leave a review about my experience with this company in hopes that other people might avoid it and thus avoid the trouble that I have had. Number one Amerisafe is Not a moving company but a broker. This Means that you will not be working directly with them as they are not the movers but they will find a moving company to help you. The person that I originally spoke with at the very beginning. Assured me that he would personally oversee the packing of my large house for my large family and that it would be over 2 d and that there would be 2 trucks and that I could pay with credit card. And then on delivery with venmo. That payment option was key as my bank was far away because I had not had a chance to switch banks since my last move.
A couple of days before the move I received a call that the movers would be coming on thursday even though the original plan that I was told was that they would come wednesday and thursday. That's fine, I figured we'll still get it done. Then I get another call from someone else To go over the inventory and count out all the boxes And pieces of furniture. I double checked with this person about the credit card and then venmo option and they affirmed it. The day before the move I received a call that I would have to pay in cash or banker's-check for pick up and drop off. Of course, I was not at all prepared for that and had I known ahead of time, I could have driven all the way to my bank and got a banker's check - However the day before the move was not enough time. I called AmeriSafe and after some back and forth, they said they would somehow make an exception. Great.
Day of the move, I check this plan again with the gentleman who was in charge of the moving team. He seemed confused And explained that was not How things were usually done. He was very kind though and contacted his company to check on the situation. He then came back and said the credit card and venmo plan would work. Great. Then I take him through all the rooms and explain that I recently updated the inventory list. At the end of the tour I noted that there was only one truck and I had originally been told there would be two since it was such a large move. He Very kindly contacted his company and put in a request for an extra truck.
Before the mover's actually Started, we did another Walk through and this time he wrote out an estimate of cubic feet needed, going piece by piece. At that time he told me it was likely a overestimation and gave me a quote. But, by the time they were done, it was more space needed and ended up being a much higher price than I was quoted when I first booked with AmeriSafe. And, there were still some things left over, so my parents graciously helped by renting a uhaul trailer and we stuffed as much as we could in our van along with our family of 7 while my parents got the rest.
We finally drove to our new location. I had been told since the beginning that it would be next day delivery- not so. Apparently because I was using a c.c., the delivery had to be after the c.c. was processed. Fine. Except that when I offered to pay at pick up I was told the company would contact me. They never did. So after a long drive I called the next day to ask about payment and delivery. I get transferred to billing, no one picks up. I attempt calling several more times. No luck all day. So we spend a second night sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor.
Now it's Saturday, I try calling again in the morning, leave another message. Then, later that afternoon I finally get a callback. I have to pay the entire rest of the moving cost on the credit card....OK, well, now I had to move around funds since I'd been saving $ in my bank account and hadn't paid the c.c. entirely so I'd have $ in the bank for a venmo transaction. So, I put that $ toward paying off the c.c. so I have the space to put the entire move cost on that card. Well, it's Saturday now, they try to run the card but apparently it hasn't been updated with my payment of the c.c. bill yet. So, we spend a third night on the floor.
Sunday, the moving company tries the card again. Nope ...because it's Sunday and still hasn't updated. So I'm told delivery cannot be Monday, because they'd need payment the day before. So, now, we are set to spend a 4th night on the floor, no tables or chairs or cooking things. I have now been told that Assuming the c.c. is finally updated and goes through tomorrow (Monday) - the *earliest* they could schedule drop off is Tuesday...maybe.
This move has cost almost double other moves, I know it's a longer move than I've previously done but it's been a similar amount of stuff. I would have never gone with AmeriSafe if I'd known how much it'd cost and how long we'd be without our stuff. At this point I'm livid. And have spent a lot of money on things like towels, camp chairs and extra clothes. I expressed my frustration to an AmeriSafe rep and mentioned that I thought I should get a discount since this has been so vastly different from what I was originally told and has forced us to camp out in our new home.... I was told they'd try but probably nothing would come of it....Never got a call back. DO NOT EVER USE AMERISAFE, EVER.

AmeriSafe—despite generally good reviews—is not on the consumer's side. It was through them that I was put with COBRA VAN LINES, without question the most thugish, criminal enterprise I've ever dealt with moving. From the get-go they treated my things like garbage, they upped the price dramatically after they had it. They didn't deliver on the date and wouldn't tell me when or where my things were—until the last minute, then demanded a time 14 hours away (7AM) when the building does not allow deliveries. When my building made concessions and staff available to help me, the driver didn't show up at his designated time and he didn't call. When we called him he said he was 3-4 hours away.
When he got close he said his truck couldn't make it up the hill (a similar truck had done so the day before). He said he'd put my things in storage or call upon a shuttle service, all of which he was about to charge me an additional $650-$2000 dollars. Only by the grace of my community did I get my things, many broken. AmeriSafe is at the root of the problem, connecting consumers to Cobra Van Lines. BE WARNED!

***DON’T USE THIS COMPANY. I can't put into words how poor my experience with this company was. They contracted movers from a company called 5 Diamond Moving Company. After settling and agreeing on a total amount of $3175.4 for the move with AmeriSafe, {$988 as a deposit and pay the difference of $2187.40 at drop off}. 5 Diamond charged me $158.40 for fuel on the contract but I ended up being charged a total of $475.20 by the end of the move on fuel alone. The 'movers' proceeded to charge me upon pick up an extra $1800.70 and $838.90 at drop off because they couldn’t fit the 18 wheeler and had to rent a Uhaul truck or refused to move my things. The second mover was able to fit his 18 wheeler in so that was a waste of money. I paid close to $5000 in total when it should’ve been only 2187.40.
The company destroyed almost all of my things AND DIDN’T EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR IT. Some of the items that were destroyed was right in front of me and nothing was said. They lost parts of a queen bed, left behind a patio table with two chairs that came back with the center gone, dining table which came back with a huge scratch on it. A representative from AmeriSafe reached out to me to apologize for how I had been treated and assured me of the steps they were taking to reach resolution. They made it clear that what happened was not ok, and had not gone unnoticed by them, and that it was against their values as a company. I appreciate the time and dedication of the customer service team to investigate and to make amends.

DO NOT USE. Leo contacted me by calling me twice in succession after being sent to voicemail the first time (I couldn’t talk on the phone and I don’t answer unknown numbers regardless). Instead of leaving a voicemail, he called again. Understandable if not annoying. Then he texted, which I prefer. I asked for the discussion to be had over text so I have it in writing and can respond as I have time. He said it’s against company policy to provide quotes over text. (I’ve had at least two other companies accommodate this.)
I replied saying that it sounds like this wouldn’t work out. From there, he became incredibly rude and condescending, saying things like, “Ok goodluck. I don't think you have ever moved state to state before. If you have you would know we actually need to do a virtual.” And it got worse from there. After I called him out on it, his response was, “sorry you feel that way,” and then continued to be condescending. I blocked his number and am shocked at the utter lack of professionalism displayed. If this is how he starts his customer relations, I dread to know what he would be like further down the road.

I can't put into words how poor my experience with this company was. They contracted movers from a company called Vanguard Lines LLC. After setting and agreeing on a total amount for the move with AmeriSafe, the 'movers' proceeded to charge me upon pick up and drop off or refused to move my things. When I refused during drop-off, they left my things on the sidewalk and I had to carry everything up to my place myself... The company destroyed almost all of my things and lost a box of expensive items and bags. After the incident, AmeriSafe essentially provided hush money of about $200 to drop it and leave them alone. I wish I was making this up... Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or risk your assets with this company.

Don't go anywhere near this company. But you didn't take my word for it. Forbes magazine did an exposé on these so-called moving company brokers. They give you a bid based on a FaceTime inspection of rooms and furniture and then raise it by 50% when there's nothing you can do about it because you're entire houses boxed up. That's what happened to us! 10 PM on a Friday night they finally finish loading the truck and he brings the contract and our $11,000 bid turned into an $18,200 bill. What the hell can I do at that point? All my goods are sitting on their truck. What a scam!
They also are a front for horrible moving companies like Cobra Van Lines. This is a company that's only been in business eight years and I assume probably was sued out of existence under another name before then. Their reviews are the worst I've ever seen for a company and no one would ever hire them based on that. However they hide under the guise of AmeriSafe Moving Services who tells you they work with all of the best moving companies to get the best price - part 2 of the scam!
This was absolutely the worst moving company ever. For instance, when they delivered my goods which was nearly 3 weeks late while we had to rent a place to stay waiting for our furniture, was told I have $6200 in cash to give the driver when he pulled up or nothing would come off the truck. This was the final portion of our bill from $11,000 bid to $18,200. I repeat, do not go near this company! Just one of the major lines and don't think you're going to save money with these scam artists.
I completed a report with the state attorney's office for the state of Florida and I also filled out a report complaint to the transportation authority but nothing will probably come of that. They employ phony review companies that are complete bull crap. Hundreds of reviews and a 9.5 score? What a joke. If you don't recognize who is doing the so-called reviewing and collecting the information you know it's a scam online to fool you. Someday someone is going to visit them in South Florida. Including the snotty people who reportedly offer customer service.

I contacted AmeriSafe Moving Services (AMS) regarding a cross-country move from Dublin, CA to Hollywood, Fl in October '23. The sales agent (Conor **) was very deceptive & only concerned about getting a sale/commission. Never mentioned that they subcontracted their furniture delivery services. #1 - Fed me a lot of false truths such as, my delivery date being 7-10 days top, #2 - Informed me he would be available for any concerns/questions, but was never reachable & did not return or answer my calls, stated that all furniture that was disassembled would be reassembled in the room of my choice....
When my furniture arrived the delivery guy informed me that he was ONLY obligated to assemble my bedroom & kitchen furniture?? In addition to Conor's deceitful pitch, another employee (James) in the logistics department (Inventory) was extremely rude & unprofessional. I strongly recommend that if you decide to hire AmeriSafe Moving Services, please do your due diligence and get everything you discuss with them in writing!

Price was more than double what was quoted. They were good at matching the competitive price. When the movers got to my place a day later after 3 pm. I tried to call Amerisafe to discuss and I was told that no quote for moving could be exact. I wasn’t asking to be exact. I was asking to be reasonable. I think you should estimate High for a customer and if it comes in lower, no one is disappointed. However, if you quote someone a lower price and it comes in more than double what was quoted someone’s gonna be pissed.
I was quoted $1422 Before the movers came and after they got there, they told me it would cost me over $3100. I understood that the price may go up a little because I had called previously to let them know. I was adding some more boxes. Not furniture but boxes. That’s how my price initially went up from 1300 and something dollars to 1422. We tried to call back and let them know we were adding some wardrobe boxes but was told, "Oh did that can be adjusted when the movers get there." If they would’ve told us beforehand, what the adjusted amount would be we may have left them off. However, that was not the case.
We were expected to pay an additional $1800 on top of the $1422 quoted in which American had already gotten their $500 off the top. The company “We the best movers” the Moving company they hired out of St. Louis, Missouri were the ones that we end up negotiating a flat rate fee for moving our furniture out of state. We didn’t have to pay an additional $1800 however we did have to pay an additional $900-$1000 before they would agree to haul our things. Smh!

From the moment we first talked TO AMERISAFE MOVERS we were lied to. They promised us everything we asked for. We wanted to be the only home on the truck from NY to NEBRASKA where we were moving to our “NEWLY BUILT HOME“, my car would be free of charge, our goods would arrive in 3-4 days etc etc. We were Quoted a price below other Companies and went over our belongings on the phone. AMERISAFE never made it clear after that another company would take over, after we signed (What a mistake).
They never attempted to FaceTime, like other companies or send a rep to assess our small ranch home’s furnishings. 5 days before the move we got a phone call and were Raised from the original ten thousand plus quote another 4700 for no reason. Same belongings. But that’s not all, the “moving company” assigned to us US PRIME. If you can call them that, arrived on the DAY OF the move. DEMETRI the boss abruptly told us we were to tip each of his men at least 100$ + food per day before the work got started, and I use the term work loosely. They were pigs. Demetri added another 7 thousand to our bill which now more than DOUBLED our original price to over 20,000.00, but told us we could cancel DAY OF if we chose “SERIOUSLY!”
From then on it’s been a total nightmare. They lied about us being the only home on the truck, told us the truck driver broke down in PA 3 days later when he was still in New York (PA isn’t on the way to NE) and after a heated conversation, where they threatened to take 10-14 days finally arrived after 7. The car carrier wanted cash upon arrival to get home.

If you place any value on your belongings and money, run as far away and as fast as you can from AmeriSafe Moving!! Here is my experience, they were 24 hours late, to which I was shocked to see a company I have never had conversations with. Come to find out my move was double brokered (which is highly illegal). Then shockingly, the price I was quoted went from $5,000 to $10,000. I told them they were fired. Then the owner of one of the other companies that were double brokered called me and threatened to meet me at my house they were moving me to. After informing Amerisafe about the 24 hours late, threats of violence, and being informed of the illegal double brokered load, and the price doubling from quote, they still refuse to refund the deposit. Learn from every one else's mistakes, and hire only reputable companies.

Amerisafe Moving Services is just a broker. They quoted incorrectly and never communicated this or that it would be a longer delivery time as the carrier would have to wait until the truck was full, or the 6% credit card fee but the most unhelpful was that they would only accept specific payment methods (cash, Postal money order or Zelle) for the last balance due! As a company that does not deal with cash, it is extremely inconvenient. Will not recommend using them!

Amerisafe moving company is horrible. I set up my move with Conor and he was nothing but promises. Turns out he lied about everything especially the delivery date promised. The move cost me $4000 more than what Conor promised. Once the movers show up to your door, you're screwed. You have no option to go with another company since it's the day of the move. He said the house would be loaded on two box trucks on Thursday in Colorado and the same two trucks would drive to Texas and unload on Sunday. 4 days total.
Once the movers showed up, they said they take the box trucks to a warehouse in Denver, and then it gets loaded on a semi truck with other customers. The delivery date could be anywhere up to 30 days! I was told 4 days in total and my belongings wouldn't be moved on and off trucks over and over again. They then told me that the semi would deliver my belonging sometime over the next 30 days. I explained that I had a long driveway and a semi truck would not be able to get down to the house. They said it would by an extra $2000 to unload it in Texas on box trucks. Again, I was told the original two box trucks would be driving to Texas. I had to pay another $2000 charge in order to keep the original two trucks and keep my Sunday delivery window. They call it a "Premium delivery charge". So my move was an extra unexpected $4000 on top of the already $13000. Amerisafe then contracts out with a different moving company for the trucks and labor.
This is were the issue happens. Amerisafe promises the customer something that the movers can't deliver. Again, you are screwed when all this happens the day of the move. I called Conor to get an explanation when the movers showed up, and he passed me along to a customer service rep. He said to call him anytime and he'd be there for me. He then blocked my call. I was heated with the customer service rep and explaining how unfair this was, and she hung up on me. I hope people read this and never do business with Amerisafe. I hope Amerisafe realizes that they have a representative (Conor, from Florida) that outright lies to their customers.

DO NOT GO WITH THEM!!! Where to begin with everything!! First they hired out a moving company with 1.1 star ratings. When it came time to move the guys got there with no issues but said our credit card was declined. I called our bank and saw it was never ran so when I called the moving company they said they were withholding our stuff until they received payment. I called Amerisafe and told them to which they said I needed to WIRE THE COMPANY MONEY. I explained the company they chose is not even running our card and it is something they need to fix.
After I threatened to sue the company our card was finally ran. Then the moving company lied and said our items were on its way to us but we stuck air tags to track our stuff and saw it never moved. I again call Amerisafe and they said that I was correct that it has not moved but that they legally have 14-21 days to move our stuff. When I had signed and paid they told me it would be there within 4-7 days. I again call Amerisafe and they said “what do you want us to do about it? This is the moving company’s fault.”
Later our stuff finally gets here and they send two illegal workers to bring our stuff. The issue is we told both parties we are living on base and that they will need a background check to get on and they said it would be no problem. Well one guy was able to get on and I called Amerisafe again to explain what is happening. Some lady calls me back to say “sorry we can’t do anything.” And when I explained there’s no way one person can move our couch and piano alone she told me that it’s too early for my attitude and that she was getting her kids ready for school and that I needed to be kind. Never did I cuss or yell at her but instead told her to do her job that we hired them for and she yelled at me and hung up. DO NOT GO WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE BEYOND USLESS AND KEEP NO PAPER TRAIL OF ANYTHING!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!! This is not a moving company but a broker go between for the real movers. The movers informed us how Amerisafe purposely underestimates the space needed for your move so that it can charge more when you run out of space. The allocation is based on the furniture in your home and does not take into account the number of rooms in the home or the amount of things you're taking.
The window given for the movers was 12-4 pm and they didn't arrive until 7 pm for a 3+hour move. The truck wasn't unpacked until 2 a.m. in a residential neighborhood. When we complained, we were reminded that this was in the moving window and that a contract had been signed. There was not enough space and about $1,000 more was asked for to complete the move. When we decided to not pay this awful company anything more, items were actually taken off the moving truck! We had to rent our own truck to finish our move. This company is a con in every way. STAY AWAY!!!

They claimed they looked in their warehouse, and could not find them. How do you lose two whole tables? Find out how will do the actual move for you, and if it is I Movers, run far away. Amerisafe knows full well that I Movers are terrible, they have rock-bottom reviews. So I blame Amerisafe for continuing to use an incompetent mover.

Amerisafe is a broker. When the actual moving company arrives it is another company. They charged an additional $4600, not the remaining balance. The initial $2200 I paid was a total waste. I was told delivery would be on the third day after pickup, so arrived in that state the night before the third day to be ready for movers to unload. Nothing was as I was told by Colin at Amerisafe. I could get no answers afterwards and no contact from Colin. My delivery took 21 days to arrive and I was in another state with nothing. Anyone I got on the phone said the opposite of what I had been told, that that is the normal period for delivery and claimed no one would have told me 3-5 days.
The entire experience was horrible and cost twice what my original contract said. Their customer service is only good before you actually get to the pick-up date and when they’re trying to get your contract. This company should not be allowed to do business. Also access expires to view your documents and you can no longer get to docusign receipts that show anything, only generic emails with no pricing or inventory information.
