I have had a climate controlled unit since 2018 and they continually go up I am not paying $313 and they have taken away the option to pay echeck so in addition you must pay a $10 fee! No loyalty to customers, the office staff are nice and I know they do not make the rules. I will defiantly be moving out of this facility.

I am filing this complaint regarding CubeSmart’s handling of my long-term rental account at the 82 Fair Street location. I was a customer since 2004. After CubeSmart acquired the facility in 2017, my rent increased incrementally from $436 to $915.76 for the same unit, without proper notice, while amenities and maintenance declined significantly.
CubeSmart’s business model appears to rely on raising rents on long-term customers who don’t constantly monitor their accounts. I rented at the 82 Fair Street location since 2004. Before CubeSmart took over in 2017, the facility was clean, climate-controlled, well maintained, and customer-friendly. After the takeover, my 8x18 unit rent increased from $436 to $915.76 through incremental hikes, while services steadily declined. They reduced temperature control, closed the bathroom, eliminated on-site staff, stopped regular cleaning, let the gate remain broken for months, and made customer service nearly nonexistent.
In November 2025, I was falsely told my card was denied for autopay. My bank confirmed no charge attempt was made. CubeSmart refused to retry the card, threatened lockout and auction, charged penalties, and added a $36 admin fee—despite the issue being an expired card that could have been easily updated. They also claimed to notify me at an old email address they refused to correct. After 20+ years as a loyal customer, I was treated with indifference and hostility. CubeSmart prioritizes profit over fairness and takes advantage of customers who trust autopay. Check your bills carefully—rent increases are not properly communicated. Bad company. Poor ethics. Would not recommend.

I am an excellent paying customer, no problem with payment. In two months, they raised my bill $60 additional dollars. And, if I moved to a smaller unit, the price was still ridiculous. Do not rent from them!!!! They will raise the price for no reason. Beware!!!! My family is relocating their storage to another facility, in the same area. The newer ones have better prices. It was very unfair and no reasoning. I went from $180 per month to $250 for a 10x20.

The items you put in the storage you pay to rent should be there until you remove them... My unit lock was cut off by Cubesmart whenever I paid late. This was unnecessary being that the door is made to hold two locks. This is the only time my unit was unlocked without me. I go to check on my unit and find several items missing and several boxes missing, at least ten. The other boxes were busted into and left behind when nothing of value was found. All items such as dishes, pot and pans, cast iron set, glasses, tumblers, any kitchen appliance, shoes, boots, any candle holder, vase, I mean so much I don't even want to remember it all.
The manager told the police they don't have cameras, but there is definitely a monitor mounted in the office showing the units. When I told Brian (the manager), he sat there like a deer in headlights. Then slowly muttered info regarding the insurance. Nothing else to say... Insurance denied my claim because the was no forced entry but, I'm not done with Brian yet. He knows what happened to my (MY) belongings.

Original price of units is way above any other storage facility but they give you 50% off to make it sound good. Then after four months they increase your rent even though they preach it’s based on the market in the area. THAT IS COMPLETELY FALSE. When I proved a unit within a few miles is cheaper before any discount they come up with an excuse and say other factors are taken into consideration. All I asked was price match down the st and I’d be happy. They cannot do that but the manager said just don’t pay the next months rent and move out we won’t charge you. So you are going to lose $250 vs just lower the increase by $20 to keep me there? Absolutely ridiculous.

I used a location in North Dallas for a few months. My unit was broken into twice. I never received a call from management either time. I discovered the break-in myself when I showed up to add things to my unit and the lock had been changed. I've tried multiple times to get information regarding the break-ins, dates/times, info about cameras, and have never gotten answers, calls and emails not returned, staff on site is apathetic and unhelpful.

I have had this storage unit on Belvedere road West Palm beach Fl. I have been with them since 2019 because have to relocate to New york due to circumstances and when I first got the unit (it's an outside drive up unit not under air). Price was reasonable but they keep increasing the rate every 5 months or so. I was able to pay these fees. never make any complain. My Unit was broken into and I was never compensated even after made a police report. Lots of large item was taken from my unit and was never replaced or compensated even though I had insurance on my properties.
This month they increased from high $566/month plus convenient fee of $15 to now $18 to pay online. Now they put $100 increase. This unit is not under air and is a outside unit. I contacted the store manager and was told that they would put it $583 which I believed was reasonable as a long time customer and only to find out that spoken the manager Karen she put it online to $600 plus convenient fee of $18.
To make matters worst after I saw what she did without communicating with me. I couldn't get into my account online to pay as I have always done and it was the due date on the 9th of Dec. I noticed it keep flashing past due so not only she increased the rent enormous she switched the payment date to 12/8/2025. I can't move out just now because I'm not in town. They are thieves because I saw on the site and I called they have same unit size for $279 monthly. Don't rent from these people because as soon as they get you in they increased the rent significantly and lack of communication and poor customer service from that manager Karen.

Horrible! Worst storage experience ever! Worse than a slum lord rental. No Cameras. No Security that works. No climate control. No pest control. No bird control. My unit was broken into by amateur random thieves. They were able to get past the so called security gate. Walked right in and started cutting locks. No video surveillance, no arrest, no changes except.constant rate increases. Once I moved out they want to continue charging me 3 or more times the actual rate and threaten a lien after I moved out with even more ridiculous charges.

We’ve been customers for about 8 years. Started at $78 now pay $430 month. Mouse shit everywhere and spiderwebs. When we asked for the promotional rate they said it was for new customers and if we wanted that rate we would have to lease another space and move all our things.

CubeSmart purchased the storage facility in NC where my friend had been renting a unit for over a decade. There are 4 bands practicing in this location, and several mechanics working out of units on the premises as well. Without even attempting to raise our rates, CubeSmart is evicting the bands and independent mechanics from the facility. No warning. No discussion. They purchased a good property in a community with the purpose of denying access to it from the members of the community where they are doing business. This is disgraceful, and they should be ashamed of themselves. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CUBESMART.

Would never recommend this company. Horrible customer service. Been with them for 5 years my first unit outside was rat infested… All my items were destroyed with Feces and pee. Despite that I Decided to try the units’ inside the facility and due to a misunderstanding they charged me for 2 units. One that was completely empty after 5 days of billing. No discount or reimbursement… I Had to pay full price for a whole month. Go to READY SPACE instead. (right next door) You can’t even have 24/7 access to ur OWN items. A scam.

Scam alert... This location is clean and the local staff is friendly but that is where the positives end. They raised my rate 88% in 2 1/2 years with a almost 40% increase after the first 5 months and a price increase of 20% every additional "11 months". 7/19/23 - $132 Move in. 12/19/23 - $182. 11/19/24 $204. 10/19/25 $249.

Be careful of constant increases with no warnings. Also, they will not prorate the payment if you move out. WHAT A SCAM! I would not rent with them again. I always paid on time, and you are never warned of the fine print with them. Just another huge company, only concerned about profits and not customer service.

Nice desk folk but gate was burned down and staff said open 6am till 10pm. So I signed. No gate 3 months later. Getting in was unavailable and office closed or unavailable. No return calls. Last day I went to pick up trailer, it was 11am. I went three times earlier that morning and called etc. no one till 1 guy came out looking he just woke up. Service is terrible, hours are misrepresented. Bad for trailers too, too skinny so my fault for that.

I have been renting a storage unit at Cubesmart for over two years, and my experience has been nothing but positive. Unlike other places, their introductory rate was clear, and the regular pricing was competitive. There have been no hidden fees, and my monthly payments are exactly what I expected. The facility is clean and well-lit, providing terrific value for what you pay.
The online rental process was incredibly easy, and I was able to get my unit set up in less than 20 minutes. I received my gate code via email instantly and had no problems accessing the facility right away. This is also fantastic for quickly entering and exiting. For anyone who needs a quick and easy storage solution, this is the place to go.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Cubesmart. The manager, Keome has been immensely helpful, and I always enjoy seeing her. Keome was an absolute lifesaver during a stressful move. She made all the difference, and it showed me that they genuinely care about their customers. I highly recommend using this location.

For everyone doing good I really think twice about raining from CubeSmart. I've had nothing but bad from them since day one. First off I can't speak of any other one but the one in Seagoville 2314 North highway 175. Bad bad bad. They ripoff storage three times shave like she wasn't coming out of here to pay. They charge you $6 and then $12 for the next one and it keeps going up every storage you have. My store just started out at 102 and at 96. Now out of nowhere they're up to 15193 and 166. Where the hell that came from I don't know and then they'll claim that you didn't pay your bill. You bring approved from your bank and they still want to unlock your storage.
With that being said they've broken into my storage there six times and only my section doesn't ever have the light of the camera on. I find that kind of funny. Anyways just a fair warning heads up it's coming from somewhere maybe corporate because can't get a hold of them either so if I was y'all I think twice about brand new smart ever. You're probably better off and safer with your stuff putting in your backyard opened up or out in your front yard even. I wish somebody else would have gave me that advice. Have a good day.

My indoor, climate controlled storage unit was infested by rats and CubeSmart has denied liability. My entire universe of belongings was destroyed by rats. I moved into my house after storing my belongings with cubesmart for nearly 2 years, and upon moving out of the cubesmart last week on Wednesday, the discovery was made that everything was a loss. I moved into my home and do not have a bed, I do not have a couch, I have no carpets, I have no furniture because rats destroyed it all. Everything is gone. Literally. Oh, and don't bother with insurance, because they won't cover it for rat damage. They make that very clear in the contract, which in hindsight is very suspect. The only way I will ever be satisfied is to learn that the owners of this horrendous facility are eaten alive by rats.

I would not recommend CubeSmart to anyone, based on the following serious concerns:
Deceptive Pricing & Excessive Rate Increases – As a small business owner with over 30 years of experience using storage facilities, I’ve never encountered rate hikes as aggressive or frequent as those imposed by CubeSmart.
Unreasonably High Late Fees – The penalties for late payments are disproportionate and far exceed industry norms.
Facility Breaches: The storage facility I used had at least one break-in while I was there. Management was always wanting to pilfer around in my unit too which I found unnerving, as I had some expensive antique and art pieces stored there and I couldn't always be present when they wanted to enter my unit. I've never had a storage company want to do that in more than 30 years of renting storage units. This practice did not sit well with me.
Safety Incident – During a recent move-out at 10:10 PM, I was unable to exit the property because the gate code ceased to function after hours. Neither the emergency line nor the property manager provided assistance. Ultimately, I was forced to call 911 to be released—while accompanied by three small children. This experience was distressing and completely unacceptable.
The fact that there is no emergency override or fail-safe exit protocol for tenants already on-site after hours poses serious safety and legal risks. Restricting a person’s ability to leave a facility—regardless of access policies—could raise questions of unlawful detainment or false imprisonment. Thankfully, this was not a medical emergency.
I strongly urge CubeSmart to immediately review and revise its after-hours exit procedures to ensure tenant safety and prevent future incidents of this nature.

Absolutely insane the price increases they make. This company is a predatory company and they pray that you are too lazy or its too much of an inconvenience to cancel and move their stuff out, so, they increase it as much as they want with no punishment. That will change. I am going to report this to the people I know at the Star Ledger and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Absolutely insane that they can increase your storage unit rent 36.84% in ONE year. Not much more I can say other than, storage unit companies, especially CubeSmart, have a reckoning coming their way on a state policy level. I will be sure to see that through. I am a disabled vet on a fixed income as it is, the last thing I am about to sit back and do is let some greedy corporation take my disability money however they see fit.

I have been a Cube Smart customer since June 2020, when the facility on Eastgate Mall in San Diego was still managed by Storage West. The initial rent was $88 and has risen annually over the past three years to $213. I have never missed a payment, so I was surprised when I received an email this month that my account had incurred a late fee due to an expired credit card and was threatened with a lien unless prompt payment was made. I contacted them to update the information and make payment.
Most businesses I have a relationship with have forgiveness policies for customers in good standing, but not Cube Smart. After speaking to both the facility and district managers, they refused to waive the late fee, claiming company policy forbids it. Cube Smart claims to have won customer service awards, but my personal experience does not support this. I have informed them that I will be moving out by the end of the year.

For 3 months I have been telling the Manager(s) that when I arrive I am not able to turn on the lights in my quadrant... I usually show up around 7:30 am or 8:00 am. I am always told the same thing. I'll have the electrician look at it. I even called a week ahead and I was assured that the problem was fixed, only to find out this morning the same problem still exists. How hard can it be to fix this, they are only selling empty spaces. This is the Downtown Abq location at 1st and Lomas. I am looking at alternatives because I don't like to support irresponsible businesses.

I paid my storage bill Aug1, 2025 of 239 dollars. It was due August 11. I always pay early. They had an issue with their system and it did not show that I paid. Since then my payment went to pending and then it posted that Cubesmart got their money. I have not received my receipt that my unit is paid. All I got so far is a run around. The manager has done very little to help. I am told the accountant has to fix it. While I took pictures of my checking account to show it posted and paid Cubesmart. The District Manager has not been notified. The accountant has done nothing and all I get is an answering machine. I worked storage 17 years as a manager and when an issue like this happened, it was taken care of within one to two days or sometimes immediately by my DM. This is pathetic the way they treat people.

Beware! This is a predatory company. The initial sales process is easy and they offer a decent price. But then they begin rate increases of 11 to 15 percent every 40 to 60 days. I am lucky enough to be able to move my things, but what about folks who have storage because they're students or in the military or they've been through a divorce or a downsizing due to rising rents? This is another example private equity corporate overlords gouging working people.

****WE WERE ROBBED**** I won an auction for a storage unit at 2601 Maury Rd, Richmond VA 23224. Little did I know that the CubeSmart employees set up robberies at that location. I went in paid the amount due for my storage unit, the lady opens the unit and I started cleaning it out. ** another employee there calls the people who could not pay for their unit and had them come rob us!! She input the security code in the door, let them in and opened another empty storage unit for them to hide the merchandise they stole from us. The police came and contacted the District manager, **, who blew smoke and mirrors up everyone's behind. I contacted corporate by phone and email and not one CubeSmart Ceo/President/Customer Service person has contacted me. *STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES* I am in the process of retaining an attorney to sue them. As far as I am concerned the entire staff of Cubesmart are thieves

Disappointing. When we rented a unit in Fort Worth I specifically asked the manager if CubeSmart raised the rents on a regular basis. Said she had never heard of the company doing that. I should have known something wasn't right when I got the first customer survey just after we move our belongings into their storage. Like other company sending a survey out long before you can estabIish whether their services are decent or misleading. They are trying to snag a great review fast. Why? Because I have just received notice the pricing will change from $146 to $180 per month on what will be our third payment.

I rent a unit from CubeSmart, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. 😔 I was immediately disappointed when I discovered issues with their management, particularly regarding billing practices. They have levied late fees on my account, which is a clear indication of a systemic problem. The fees are a direct result of a fault within their system, not any negligence on my part. I have attempted to resolve these discrepancies with the management team, but I have faced continuous delays and unhelpful responses. 😠 It's incredibly frustrating to navigate such an inefficient process, especially when dealing with important matters. I believe the management team needs to overhaul their systems and prioritize customer satisfaction. I hope they will take the necessary steps to improve their operations. It seems like they are taking advantage because of the self-service storage, so they don't want to deal with the clients; but somehow they can make call backs to open accounts and send out reminders for bills.🤔 One of their operators even tried to twist the facts that there are multiple ways to pay bills, (for their benefit, not mine,) as if it's not my money before it goes into their hands. Why, would anybody want to give them electronic payment when they just change the bill payment at their leisure, don't know why even when looking into the system, they cannot assist with helping their customers with effective solutions to resolve problems? I know that computers are becoming more sophisticated but that shouldn't mean less people to people care....●I expect the store to consistently be open with the business times posted, not habitually closed whenever it's time for me to conduct business.

I am currently at the storage unit 1531 Georgesville Rd Columbus Ohio and I currently was behind on my unit so my lock had to be replaced. When I paid it I spoke to **. Not sure if I spelled his name right but anyway he said he would meet me at my unit the following day. Well I showed up early because I didn’t want him to wait but he was already there waiting on me which was great. He was super friendly and quick to help me with all my questions. I brought my lock so he cut their lock off and I was able to replace it with my lock but he was great. Couldn’t have asked for better service!

I am assuming CubeSmart recently acquired the storage unit I have been using. However, AI still cannot verify. There was zero communication about the change. My invoice for August 1 was $75.75. This was through the previous company. I had auto-pay set. However, I start getting text messages on August 4 stating that I’m past due from CubeSmart. I never rented from CubeSmart. I tried in vain to get a hold of somebody with absolute zero return communication. They have increased my storage unit from $75.75 due on August 1 to $98.94. Again, zero communication. I will be getting my mom’s stuff out of the storage unit and moving to a more reputable company.

We went into contract with Steelcreek because of their friendly family atmosphere. They were always helpful, quick to respond. When CubeSmart bought the business, everything changed. We are in and out of our storage often, checking things, getting things and everything was good. There was a broken door that wasn't fixed and birds got in. The ceilings have gaps and birds got into our unit and our wood furniture was scratched and pecked, not to mention the bird poop. Of course, they blamed Steelcreek; everything is their fault. They were very rude in conversations. The final straw was the monthly increase of almost $40. They put chains and locks on the dumpster. Large companies are not my cup of tea.

I thought I was going to get a month free but no, you have to pay admin taxes and whatever else they want to add and it’s certainly not free. Thinking I was to get a month absolutely free is not the case! And of course, after a few months, they raised the rent didn’t get the message! They like to leave things out so you're really confused... at least I was. I paid but they didn’t unlock it cause I had the next payment the next day! Which they didn’t tell me. Usually, they wait a couple of days before they pick it again but no, they just kept it locked!
Their attitude is awful, like they’re so happy you’re behind! And they're going to show you who’s boss, 'we'll keep it locked until you make your payment!’ Well, keep it then, your attitude is awful, don’t use these power hungry people that just don’t care you might have sentimental things in there! Rented a 10 x 10 drive up unit for $98.00 per month. Started in March 2025. Received a notice of rental increase to $130.00 beginning August 2025. Outrageous increase and now I have to move out. Can't afford. Absolutely insane to get me in and then raise the rate only 4 months later. It took almost a month to move in by myself and I'm 79 years old. S/w manager and nothing she could do. I do not recommend CubeSmart to potential renters. Cube Smart says right in their contract they can raise the rent at any time...and they sure did that! That's almost a 30 percent increase. Very disappointed and unhappy camper.

Terrible experience with CubeSmart. They have hiked up the price only in 4 months of storing my items. $165.00 of hiking. I’ve never experienced anything like this. The story they told me is that there was a yearly fee that Never was discussed with me. Then after trying to contact the manager. I called back and spoke to the lady and I told her that I haven’t had but only 4 months that I stored my items. She gave me another lying story. They hike up the prices to take over the storage of innocent and hardworking people. I never had any discussion with them about hiking the prices in 4 months or a yearly charge of $165.00. They automatically took the money out of my account and wasn’t told anything about the charges.

Selected this location due to reviews and location (Ridge Rd, Charlotte, NC). Clean, has carts to use when moving, etc. No issues since renting starting in March. However, just received notice my bill is increasing 25% next month. Paying $97 now and increasing to $121 (This includes insurance). Be aware! They have every right to do this but it is extremely poor business management and while I get inflation, this is NOT that. Think twice before moving into this facility due to their practices. Find a place with a longer term lease option because moving in is easy, making plans to move out a few months later due to 25% rate increase is not. And they are fully aware of this and who's to say they won't do it again in a few months.

As this facility is fairly new it is clean, well lit, and secure. The selection of available units has a good variety to choose from and easy access to the units. I would like to take a moment to comment on the Gainesville customer service and express my gratitude and appreciation to Tyler. I had a potential situation occur and Tyler went above and beyond to get it settled to my satisfaction. Thank you Tyler! I would recommend the Gainesville facility for these reasons.

I was going to rent my storage from a facility in Henrietta, NY, but after speaking with Paul at the Greece, NY location, I didn't want to look no further. They said move for $1602.50 then the price went up to 2162.75. Day of the move, over $7000.00. They said the move was to Georgia. The day of the move they will move it to New Jersey and put it in storage. First month is free. Next one is on you. Creig Van Lines price increase for 2 Bookcases, pinball machine and toolbox. Money I already paid more for. Creig Van Lines said there would be a addition charge due to containers were not all the same size. This was not in the contract. Note, I sent them photos. Note, when I tried to print the receipt, it will not print the way it is shown.

They always claim to send you an email before they up the price but I only been with them for 4 months. I switched from a bigger unit because the price went up without my knowledge so I switched to a smaller unit. I'm at the fourth month now! And soon as I paid the bill for the month of June it went up for the month of July which I only had it for 4 months. What kind of Mess is that? That's not fair. It's not right and they say they sent me an email. There's no email sent to me but who would rent a storage unit for only 4 months and then the rate go up? If I would have knew that I would have went to another company. So this is the second time this has happened. It's horrible, unacceptable, and I suggest that you not rent there unless you're really desperate and don't care about morals respect And your contract being forfeited and change when it says one thing and then it's another horrible.

We had a unit at Cube Smart for years with constant rent increases. Can’t recommend this at all. Bad customer service, they let you know they don’t care about your business at all. After someone drove to the wall into our unit and caused extensive damage they did absolutely nothing! They didn’t even bother fixing the wall for weeks. The final straw for us was the flooding of our unit after heavy rain. When we went to clean there we discovered a rat infestation, which caused a total loss of all items. We had insurance and nothing was covered, not the water or rodent damage. You would think a place like that should be paying to keep pests out! Never going back there.

CubeSmart in Fayetteville North Carolina on Ramsey Street warning to anyone wanting to rent from CubeSmart don’t do it. They increase your rent every three months and trust me. I’ve had two units and they’ve done it every time. I do not rent from CubeSmart. If you want your rent to Jack go up every three months then you need to go to CubeSmart and if you don’t don’t do it. Warning don’t use CubeSmart Storage. It’s a rip off.

I've been a customer at CubeSmart in Noblesville Indiana since 2023. Noblesville CubeSmart is a very clean need storage unit. I've got no complaints other than The cost increase. That is my only complaint. They have very nice employees there especially Miss Donna. She is always been very helpful and is very nice to talk to. She is the best employee that I have come in contact with there. Donna is always willing to help with any problems. CUBESMART ARE THIEVES AND A SCAM!! Rent stated at $170 and after 1 year was raised to over $500! I struggle to make payments which left me with no money to move elsewhere. Within a year I lost my entire unit consisting of everything I've owned for the past 50 years. Completely devastating. Found out they sold my life long belongings for a mere $900 to a stranger. Knowing that someone bought my belongings for pennies on the dollar and sifted through my personal life was like a violation of indescribable emotional proportions. Their rental practices are predatory and criminal. NEVER trust CUBESMART. They will never be fair.

When we first got 3 storages at Cubesmart, the about 2 or 3 years ago, prices was great, I asked the manager do you all go up much, I was told by the manager, "We don't go up that much." A lie! They continued to go up in prices without letting us know. Over 900.00 as much as my mortgage on my home, Even after my husband got sick, prices continue without a notice. My storages are now over 900 dollars. My husband just pasted a Vietnam Vet and the prices are so high I have to move out and have no other storage as of yet. They are horrible. While there's no specific limit on rent increases, Colorado regulations expect them to be reasonable and reflect market conditions. CubeSmart does not reflect market conditions for many people there and when they’re out of state as in my case, they’re completely beyond Market. Take CubeSmart 50 South Havana. They raise rents without notice. CubeSmart will take money out of auto pay in addition to what you have okayed (they raise the rent without notice and then they take it out of your account using auto pay) and the manager there is actually threatening.
The units are commonly broken into At CubeSmart.. My unit was broken into More than once and CubeSmart actually charged me a large monthly fee that would be excessive to market … multiple increases. (Cubesmart) in which my storage unit was broken into and the valuables stolen on more than one occasion .. The old company there Before CubeSmart was wonderful …. BUT I had been out of state for a few years. CubeSmart had taken over and a new manager (who several residents thought he was responsible for breaking into the units) Was in place. Broken into more than once … That is a scary thought and then they told me they were increasing rent for increased security, which was never installed anywhere that I could see.
CubeSmart dramatically increased my rent well above market value… . I had auto pay, but CubeSmart raised rents well above market and took it out of my bank without notifying me of the increase and without my permission I didn’t notice it for a couple months. CubeSmart was very surprised that I showed up that week and wanted to move all my stuff out .. They actually tried to prevent me from doing this because they wanted the next months rent. And they had raised it. Considerably, but didn’t think I would return to remove my items. The items remaining was mostly sentimental and valuable to me, but not to others.
CubeSmart was a very abusive company with a very abusive manager. I called the cubeSmart corporate office and I was told by corporate that my rent had been raised without giving me notice and some of the other issues that was against state law was also OK. CubeSmart corporate didn’t help me, and even though there were issues contrary to the law.. Corporate was fine with the abuse… even when I told them that it was self storage and I was paid up… but the manager tried to prevent me from moving my stuff out…. It was OK with CubeSmart. CubeSmart was fine with the manager nor did they help me!
So I hold CubeSmart responsible for having such a horrible manager that was completely out of control… The other Review for CubeSmart was one Star written a month ago, and their experience was just like mine.. A complete nightmare with CubeSmart. CubeSmart was a nightmare. It wasn’t just they kept raising the rent and overcharging me…. They would take it off auto pay and not ask my permission to charge the extra money. My unit was broken into multiple times, both through the roof and also the door so don’t store anything valuable there I cannot imagine a worse Storage. I tried to include pictures, but they’re above the limit.

I’ve been a customer at CubeSmart for over five years. 10x12 unit cost me $180 per month. Soon after Covid and every few months since my rent has increased. It’s now &458 per month for the same unit. I’ve tried negotiating a cheaper price to no avail. Others I know have tried and succeeded, not sure why it’s not working for me. Horrible customer service, lies upon lies and they keep shifting me over to the next representative with no results. I’ve been pleasant with these people and it has gotten me nowhere. I’ll never willingly rent from these inept greedy neglectful idiots ever again.

Had my rent for my unit jump 3x in a little over a year and major jumps too, started at $135 and now it's $216, $220 when you pay on the phone, nobody's ever in the office to talk to and my unit has been broken into. $220 for what? Not temperature controlled and obviously not secure, I would not recommend this place to anyone especially when there's new ones popping up left and right at half the cost of this place, gonna be looking for a new one right away. If you see Cubesmart and need a unit, look elsewhere, highly do not recommend this place at all.

Warning: I began renting a storage space at CubeSmart--79-40 Cooper Ave Flushing, NY 11385--2 months ago they have raised my storage fee by 20%! The fee that I paid for the first two months is still offered on their website, so they are not increasing their rates but have done a bait-and-switch to lure customers, which is an unscrupulous business practice, not to mention that a 20% increase is exorbitant. I was not told, nor was it written in the literature, that I was being given an introductory rate. In fact, when I inquired, I was told the opposite.

I couldn't get the app or the website even though everything was in order to work so I was left with the phone payment which has extra fees or appearing in person which meant time off of work! My payment became late and I was told that the fee had become $250 and I had a roughly a month to come pay it but when I showed up it was $375! I had to go purchase a lock even though I was told I needed to buy one initially or rent their lock which I did and after purchasing the new lock and having the manager come and remove the other locks I found multiple items damaged ruined by urine and droppings caused by rats which I have pictures of! All the while whenever I conveyed frustration to the manager regarding the bill or whatever he would smirk and smile "guilty smirk" as if enjoying causing unnecessary suffering! I would have been better off using my bosses' shed!
I will never ever return bring my business and I commit actively to educate others to avoid using this business at all cost! Perhaps if they go out of business then no one no other person will be taking advantage of with bait and switch or fabricated administrative fees! The bald manager, the sterling communicator, accused me multiple times of, "being unwilling to listen to him!" And I thought I had found honorable backup during these trying times!!!

I have had CubeSmart lockers for many years. I currently have two active lockers. My granddaughter went to retrieve some of her items from one of my lockers today. She found two locks on the locker, a locker I paid for. So I called the manager and a person named Sean (sp) answered. He told me that those were their locks and had been put on since 2020. I got angry. I knew he was trying to decieve me since I personally have been to that locker since then. He told me I would have to travel to the locker site and show ID to have the locks removed. Keep in mind, the locker is paid up. No money is due on the locker.
In addition, the price of the locker (10 x 15) (including insurance I pay for) has steadily escalated since I purchased it in 2020, rising to more than $300 per month now. Over the years, I have paid over $12,000 for this locker only to find it locked with thier locks. To say I am pissed is an understatement. It is true that I let my feelings be known when talking to Sean (maybe some cursing on my part) but I was very angry. Sean hung up on me and refused my subsequent calls.
So, in summary, they say they locked the locker the year I rented I and I never came back, even though I did, they refused to take the locks off without my appearing in person (I live 180 miles away) even though the locker is paid up. And the so called manager Sean now refused to take my calls and help me. Spend your money at other locker companies. CubeSmart is a scam.

Don’t believe Cubesmart’s telephone message that it won a Best Customer Service Award. I have been a customer of Cubesmart on 90th and Fort Street for almost 4 years. During this time my rent has doubled but the vast majority of the 4 years, the lighting above my unit flickered. I was told time and time again that it would be fixed but it wasn't. Finally it was fixed a few months ago but very soon the lights burned out completely and have yet to be fixed as of today, March 19th. When I asked for some compensation for the very dark state of my unit, I was refused. I do not recommend renting space at this facility.

RODENT INFESTATION! DO NOT STORE HERE! I had 4 storage units rented at the CubeSmart on Everhart Rd in Corpus Christi, TX for over 3 years to store brand-new furniture and decor for a new home we were building in Port Aransas, TX. When our new home was finally completed, and we emptied the units, we discovered extensive damage to some of our furniture and rugs due to rodents. There were rodent feces, urine stains and 3 of the rugs had been chewed through - completely ruining brand-new pieces including a custom sofa.
When we contacted CubeSmart about the issue, they claimed to provide monthly pest and rodent control but when we asked for proof of this maintenance, they refused to provide it. Instead of offering any real assistance, they told us we should not have stored VALUABLE ITEMs in their facility - something that was never mentioned when we initially rented the units. Despite multiple calls and emails attempting to resolve the situation, CubeSmart has done nothing and offered no compensation whatsoever. DO NOT STORE HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS! Find a more reputable and secure storage facility.

They are constantly increasing the rate they charge you time and time again. The facility I am at is not the cleanest and is rat-infested with big holes in the road at the front entrance. If you are in need of storage, you should look elsewhere.

Property manager ** guy AJ was seen smoking drugs while greeting me as I waited 20 minutes at the office door as he appeared to be just walking around the premises using profanity talking to others that seemed to be staying in their units. Place has no structure, really is sad. The district manager needs to be on top with this property, maybe get some better employees especially managers to gain better function. So much illegal things involved at the place. Bathrooms are nasty. I mean I just don't understand how this is coded business

We went to CubeSmart AZ Chandler North and received very good service. Darryl was very cool, professional, and easy to talk to. He took his time and explained the entire process and walked the facility with us showing us how things work. This location is absolutely spotless and I recommend everyone to check it out, you won't be disappointed in the facility or with Darryl! We've been loyal customers at our local one for years but the rent jumps an average of about twenty five or so dollars twice a year for no discernable reason. I'm currently paying 175 and change per month now for their second smallest 5' by 10', non climate controlled unit. It's taking up almost a quarter of my disability payment and making it even harder to try and find a place to live.

Perhaps one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They sign a contract with you with the intention of raising your rent every 6 months. Do not sign on with these people. 2 years ago we started at $476/month. They have increased it to over $1002 per month. It's like clockwork... I would propose this is a contractual trap..Though we will get nothing I'm going to contact attorneys regarding the predatory practice and hopefully start a painful litigation and identify these awful players.

CubeSmart on pine hills rd in orlando fl, mouse infestation, owner refuses to do anything about the problem. Roaches, mouse droppings, etc. Have gone to the office several times to notify them of their rodent issue. They have removed several mice that have been caught on the glue traps from the building if your unit starts with 220...Beware!! I have reached out to corporate and the owner, nothing has been done. The staff members are removing the mice. This is highly unsanitary.

I spoke with a really nice lady, as I had plans to move my things from GA to VA, but I was not able to. Due to seeing my Doctors in Virginia I am just now calling to cancel services with them. I attempted to let the gentleman know that no move in had taken place. He said that no refund would be given. Then I went to get something out of storage and discovered several bags with chew marks from rodents. Went to close the door and found a dead mouse on the floor. Our son (18 years) needed a small storage near college campus. (Location 0935) in Queens, NY. He got a $27 x month rental. The company deliberately added an unnecessary and non requested $12 x mo. insurance. After the end of the lease, we got collection letters for administrative lien fees, unpaid insurance and rent, so far $280 and going up. They prey on young customers.

I met the ladies at Cubesmart in 2022 when I had a tragic house Fire and Emily and Robyn were not only on point with pricing, But the compassion they showed for me and what I had been through was like I had had friends forever. I had finally moved out a year later and by another misfortune I’m renting another unit. I actually rented two other units before I was back in the same building. I was when I first started, and that only was because they accommodated me once again! Not only is the pricing economically suited for a single woman, but the place is absolutely immaculate and clean and secure with a gate code. The girls have always been available by phone and almost anytime of the day or evening if you’re going to have to use a storage unit for any reason at all I would recommend Cubesmart and ask for Emily or Robyn.♥️

In middletown, connecticut, the CubeSmart store a new field street. I had a storage unit and the controlled environment. Apparently the air conditioner broke where they didn't contact me or tried to fix it right away. So by the time I got to my unit to check on it to grab something, there was mold on everything I owned. I tried to, we'll talk to the door manager and basically he told me to get a lawyer. There's nothing he is going to do or try to help me with.

My MIL had to sell her house and move in with my husband and I. She got a CubeSmart storage unit to put her stuff in. She ended up in the hospital for several months. Unfortunately with all the chaos going on we forgot to pay for her storage unit for a little over a month. I will take responsibility for that. By time we went to pay it for her between them rising their prices and late fees the bill was $800. The price gouging is outrageous!!! I called customer service explaining the situation to see if they would work with us. I asked if we could pay $400 now and $400 the very next week in order to get caught up. They will not accept any half payments and will not work with you in any way. So if you ever end up in a situation where you don't have the funds to pay them immediately you are out of luck! They are not going to work with you. Just a heads up!

Horrible place to rent from. Constantly raising rent. And when you want to speak to upper management, good luck on that! Never again! Not to mention being blamed for trash on property and getting charged for it.

Constant price increases. The last price increase was 15% higher than the published list price for the unit. I called Customer Service and also spoke to the people at the local storage unit location. They were embarrassed that my rate had been increased to more than the published list price and explained that they would lose their jobs if they adjusted it. I was promised a call from the district manager and after no response, I was promised a call from the area vice president - 2 weeks later there has been no response. My conclusion is that CubeSmart is a bad place for storage and an even worse place to work.

I moved in with my mother because she was very sick and needed someone with her at the time. I didn't think I would be here for 2 years. She was getting better. I put my stuff in storage, my storage unit was $170.00 month, one month later it was raised $50.00 and it has increased to over $300 a month. How can they get away with that? Well they just lost me as a customer. My mom has garage, we will just put everything in there and park her car outside.
The manager at the Cubesmart pretty much said it was my fault, and asked how sentimental were the things I had in storage. I have living room set, a small kitchen set and and a bedroom set that was my grandmother's. Boxes of things that go with having your owning place. I did get rid of my Refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and a lot of things that I didn't need. He said I would have over $5000, if I had not put my stuff in storage. Which was very rude. I don't know where you can get all new furniture for $5000. Unless I go thrift hunting. But still that was rude. I have a 10 by 10.

I'm forced to have two storage units because certain family It’s hard for them to travel and a CubeSmart is close to their home. The increases are crazy and come unannounced. If you don’t have family that need storage close and easy to get to go far.

I've been using CubeSmart in Old Saybrook, CT to store my things after I moved from NYC. Yesterday, I went to my storage unit and disgust doesn't even begin to describe the condition of it. There were HUGE SPIDERS everywhere! My unit was infested!! It was also covered in webs, there were COCKROACHES, I saw a packet of what looked like RAT POISONING (in my unit), and I kept hearing something that sounded like a snake or rat running around (luckily I didn't see one).
When I called, the women I spoke with told me to file a claim with my homeowners insurance. Today, this dump called and REFUSED to have pest control come and they also refuse to reimburse me for the months I trusted these slumlords with my possessions. LOL NO sweetie, CubeSmart will pay for any damages and reimburse any fees or they will see me in court. I'm about to report this joke of business with the city and state so no one else has to endure the hell I'm going through.

We have been using this unit for several years and they continuously kept upping our price until we were at $335 a month per unit for a little 10 x 15 foot . Making it more difficult for us to move out because all of our money was going into storage rent instead of being able to pay someone to move our stuff elsewhere. When I moved out I found out they kept upping my price because I had been there a while. The shorter you stay there I guess the better price you get.
You guys ripped me off for almost $700 a month for years, making my monthly cost of living excessive and difficult. Over the years I've paid endless thousands of dollars. Greedy people. No other reason to charge this much for these little metal sheds that leak water and ruined so much of my belongings. Can't say enough bad things about the hardship that you have put up on me. Don't rent from these greedy people they do not care about the customers at all. On top of that, they lock up the dumpster so you can't even throw anything away or clean up your units.

I have a storage unit at the exterior location. I went to the location yesterday at 5:40 PM. I was told the storage unit is closed. I was informed the store unit closed at 5:30 PM. The storage unit hours of operation is 9 AM to 6 PM. I called customer service to verify the hours as I was talking to customer service. The young lady came out the office and told me to leave. At this time, it was only 5:47 PM. She was very rude. I said to her, "You guys close at six. Is only 5:47 PM." She told me to get off the property.

I've rented a unit with Cubesmart for 9 months and I have had a half a dozen interactions with their employees and each time they were rude and disrespectful. Not once has anyone been polite or even decent. They also increased my rent by 24% without prior notice. I will definitely be moving to another storage company at the end of this month.

Cubesmart is a SCAM! Our rent has risen from a little over $200/mo to nearly $500/mo in a little over a couple of years. They use highly questionable strategies in order to lure you into believing they are a good company -- they are NOT A GOOD COMPANY! A nearby competitive storage rental facility -- which has a different name -- is in fact owned by Cubesmart! Save yourself the headache and hassle of dealing with them by not dealing with them.
When all of our belongings were found to be covered in mildew, the insurance coverage we paid for did not cover the damages, because ..."the water damage wasn't caused by the direct result of broken piping..." it was caused by a broken heater, which cause water vapor to build up in the unit which in turn began to cause mildew to grow. The use clever language in their insurance polices to avoid paying out the cost of damages. Other issues include, frequent lying by their management. The managers get moved around often, or simply leave. DO NOT TRUST CUBESMART!

Unsecured site. My unit has been broken into 2 times at this facility. The first time management did make me aware, but their only response was to offer me a new lock. A month later, after being assured by management there were no further issues, I find on my own my unit had been broken into again. The facility takes no responsibility for their lack of security. I have rented at this location 2 times in the past, for extended periods, when they were public storage with no issues. Your belongings ate not protected at this location.

Rent went from $138.75 to $171 to $217 in one year. A rise of 56.4%. They bait you in with intro price. Once you got the unit full, they raise rents considerably assuming you don’t feel like the hassle of moving, again. I asked why… The counter person said: That’s industry standard practice. Crooks! Had the storage unit for months then I had financial issues so I couldn't pay my bill. Still I have an email that says I had until the 27th to submit a payment. So I went down there on the 27th with the full amount and they had sold all of my stuff! Thousands in welding tools alone and many other items. The worst was all my keepsakes and pictures of my kids were in there! I can never replace that. How can this be legal? They said they sent me an email stating the new final date but I never found it. Anyways don't storage places have to wait a certain amount of time after the final due date and no payment has been made before they can sell all my stuff??!! Don't risk losing your stuff. These guys are hella shady! If I could give no stars or negative I would.

First of all, I'm sure those recent 5 star reviews either come from in house or new customers that received deals with a smile upon their initial storage charge. However, those stars will decrease within a year or so because Cube Smart raises their storage rates more than any other storage facility I've researched. Granted, the units and the buildings are fairly clean and air conditioned, but an average 25-30% increase every year is absurd and nowhere close to reasonable. It's time to lobby for legislation to put a cap on rental unit increases or at least have an option to lock in a rate for customers who've been there for an extended period of time since those payments keep their facilities operating more than short-term customers.

I rent a storage unit at the Mount Vernon, NY location. The rent was reasonable when I first started renting @ about $300 a month. However it’s no longer affordable as the company increases the rent every few months. The current rent is $600+. If you are 6 days late, they charge 20% late fee. The company appears money hungry.

This was the worst experience. Rented an indoor storage unit 5' x 10' to store some antique and collectible books. Before the end of my first month I went to collect some books and found that termites had damaged an entire box of books, about $455 in value completely lost. They told me to file a claim with the insurance but the insurance told me that termite damage is not covered (complete waste of my time). I immediately removed all of my items in storage and I spoke to the General Manager of the store. He told me to send him the details by e-mail, and so I did, but I never heard back from him. Currently in process of filing a Small Claim in Hillsborough County Civil Court.

I had a confirmed reservation to move the contents of an entire house into two storage units on a specific date. When I arrived, I was informed the facility had no electricity due to a scheduled installation of solar panels. I was given the option of (i) moving in with no lights, no elevator, and no way to open the loading bay doors, (ii) accepting an inferior set of storage units at another facility further way for double the contracted rent, or (iii) waiting a week for a district manager to call me back (she was on vacation).
I made other storage arrangements and CubeSmart has refused to reimburse me for any excess costs. Their view is that it is the customer's obligation to ensure the facility is available and the customers assume the risk of all costs incurred due to the company not delivering its product. CubeSmart deliberately turned scheduled maintenance into an opportunity to blackmail a customer, which is a criminal act.

I had a wonderful experience at CubeSmart from receiving a phone call to verify that I was going to need 2 5 x 5 units the day before. I spoke with Wanda, very helpful and great customer skills. She asks that I arrive on Saturday which I did. She provided me with paperwork but before that she showed me a unit that I would possibly rent. After the first unit I was sold. She explained everything in detail. We got back to office I signed my paperwork and then was immediately ready to move in. Wanda again, thank you for making it a seamless process for me. I moved out of Cubesmart on April 26th and was told I would get a refund. Well as if May 18th nothing. I then was told by 3 different people the refund is in the mail. Now it's May 18th and I have received nothing. I received a email saying they would call me in 2 or 3 days, well that was 3 weeks ago and nothing. The main customer service is terrible. I give it zero points.

This is the pits! I started with 88 dollars, the rent kept increasing with new fees. This was an outdoor, no climate control, with rats! There was rat crap inside of my storage unit! There was no tight seal on the door. It went to 138! Out of there! These storage units are a Rip off! Beware of higher cost and fees! In a closer storage, cleaner, climate control, and sealed doors for 30.00!

After about 2 or 3 months they increase from $99 to $120 and after 10 days they have a 20% interest charge and they call every few days for their money. I wouldn't recommend CubeSmart because they're increases. If you are going to be more than a month or two I wouldn't get a storage room from them because they will probably just increase the price every couple of months p so it would probably be from $100 to over $200 in a year if they keep raising their rate plus 20% interest if you're late more than 10 days. I'm just going to try to get my stuff out as soon as possible and never rent there again. Hopefully I can find a storage place that won't raise rates for at least every year.

A medical situation happen in my life. I understand my storage was past due so after 31 days they put a lien on my storage which I took care of but the thing of the nature the employee ** female kept stating in this neighborhood like the neighborhood has something to do what's situations and circumstances that's going on in people's lives. She was just rude and on top of that after paying taking off the lien I became current just to be informed that after 31 days not even up for auction they cut your lock off so you have to purchase another lock. That bad business because I think that's giving a heads up on the people that they know that's coming for the auction if it happens so they can have a head up of what's in your storage. Bad business, Please read your contract and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Rat infested units., prices go for $85-$300 within 2 years. Had to throw away a brand new mattress due to rat/mice feces. Found a live mouse inside mattress that the mouse torn. Once items were removed from unit a dead decaying mouse was in the unit.

With CubeSmart my experience was not good at all. Every time I went to the office to pay my bill on the first of the month no one was never in the office Or on the premises so I had to make two trip a day to try and catch them or call and tell them I need to come up and make a payment and ask them will they be in office. They will tell me what time the date and time they will be there and what time to come and make the payment. It was a very bad experience. The open and closed hours cubesmart employees didn't honor not to mention without my consent they bought the company from Extra Space and sent me a contract that I never signed and agreed to the contract or consented to the contract.
They stole my source data. I never rented from them. I was furious because this new company took over my contract without my permission and started the very next month doubling my rent from $75 dollars to $150 dollars. Then in six months it went again to $175 dollars and the next 6 months it was $202. Cubesmart is a ripoff.

This manager here at this facility and the other three facilities in this area is completely unprofessional. There was no security lights here on the outside or inside the storage units for the first 3 months that I was here besides the fact the gate did not close. Now the gate closes but it sits at 12:00 a.m. and you can put a code in in any four numbers and get into this facility at any time night or day. The manager Alex is completely unprofessional and one night when I was moving my stuff into another storage unit because he refused to rent me another storage unit which is completely ridiculous since I had a 5x10 and I had a four bedroom house I was moving in here he came and chased off the workers that I hired to help me move all my things in here and then he put a red lock on it after he refused to rent me another unit. Cost me $1,800 in work because I own my own business.
I don't do anything more than anybody else here. I come, I do my work, I get everything together to go to my next job. There's people that stay here 8 to 10 hours a day sleeping on the ground, working on motorcycles, all kinds of things, working on cars. It took me a month to move my things over here because my vehicle got stolen and so I had to use a bicycle and a trailer to get everything over here and he called that loitering. He is always on my butt for everything. He doesn't say anything to anyone else wants to show up on a Saturday night renting and Raymond and screaming and yelling like a crazy man at 8:00 at night. I had a job I was going to do for another customer in here and he canceled it because of him. He also told one of the people that were coming to buy a refrigerator for me that he wouldn't buy anything for me because it would be stolen.
This man is completely out of control and now he's trying to evict me again in 10 days. There is no way I can leave in 10 days. I don't have the manpower or the vehicle to move my things and I'm also doing chemo on every Friday. These people are completely unprofessional. They do not care about their customers. They only care about what they want to do when they want to do it. This place is completely disgusting. It has trash everywhere. People come and go all hours of the night and day obviously with his permission.
I would not rent from these people. After calling in eight times and trying to reach the district manager or talk to him twice he told me that he would get back with me and only got back with me one time every other time I had to chase him down and I still haven't heard from him and it's been a month and a half. They're totally in breach of contract for everything that's happened and I am not in the wrong for anything and I do not feel that I have to leave in 10 days. That is out of the question to be done in 10 days. If it took me a month to move my things here on a bike with the trailer do you think 10 days is going to give me anytime. The eviction notice that he gave me was not legal either. This is the second time that he's done this. I feel that he needs to be removed from his position or I'm going to sue this company and him for harassment.

Raised the rates. Security gate not always working. Not weather proofed because the strip at the bottom of the door was badly damaged. Dealt with my product labels peeling off. My boxes were moist. My bins got dirty from being in there with bugs. Had to deal with wasps in the summer. No refund when you vacate early. Found an indoor unit the same size for a better rate.

I was evicted. Site staff harassed me about my smell in discreet but obvious behavior. As a customer- I do not need to appease or impress site staff and/or management. Staff did not offer me auto pay initially, then staff pretended to sign me up for auto pay at desk, but I discovered on due date that I had not been signed up for auto pay from toll free number agent. Hopefully, treatment against will not get poorer or bad levels or worse levels in the future.

Beware! After selling our house in October 2022, we stored all of our belongings at this facility. In order to have the room we needed, they suggested the larger unit which was not climate controlled. After less than a year of everything being in there, we discovered pieces of furniture with some type of mold. We also had many items rusted, not to mention everything was filthy dirty. There must have been some kind of defect or issue with this particular unit, given the extent of the damage to numerous pieces of furniture, as well as many other assorted items. We even laid down rugs and moving blankets on the concrete floor as well as covering items with moving blankets and plastic. Some items survived; others did not.
Upon contacting Cube Smart, we were advised that we had insurance as part of our monthly payment and they gave us information on filing a claim with their insurance company, Great American Insurance Group. The claims adjuster had us e-mail photos and answer many questions only to blow us off and declare that it was not covered. So essentially, the money from the monthly payment that goes to this company is useless. It benefits them and CubeSmart, not the consumer. We not only spent thousands of dollars on storage over the course of a year, we lost thousands of dollars worth of belongings and had to pay more money to dispose of everything that could not be salvaged.
We also spoke with the regional manager for this location and he told us, "Sorry, but there's nothing we can do. Not our problem." It had to be something we did or didn't do or could have been something from an adjoining unit. Basically, too bad for you. Obviously, we will never use them again and will tell anyone and everyone that we know, NOT to use CubeSmart. But, especially Do Not store anything at this location. If I could give no stars and horrible as a rating, I would.

Many items rifled through, boxes open and emptied, Christmas presents still in the shipping packages were opened and stolen. This is devastating. No security, don't trust them with your belongings.

Giving people 30 days to move out during Thanksgiving was disgusting! Letting them know Oct 31 when they must have known for a year! What if someone had been away for two weeks? They claim they'll dump all their belongings! Because they have "construction" to do. **** Not bad enough the price increases $100 the first 6 months and then $100/year and had to wrestle it back down to $50 - so we paid $400 for a 10x15 cube.... Then you give people no notice you're going to 'do construction"...
You must have known for a year and you wait till a month a lot of people go away and there is also veterans Day....and the entire facility has to out at the same time putting strain on the loading and cart situation... And everyone trying to get a new unit at the same time. Your business practices are disgusting! Hope to never do business with you again! ***Oh and they say you can bring your own lock but their own proven to be substandard locks are the only ones that fit - so you do have to buy their overcharged crappy lock. My representative won my possessions back on my behalf, due to being ill. Paid the auction and attempted to settle debt with CubeSmart as directed by auction. June, manager at North Charleston location was being spiteful and blocked him from doing so and all memorabilia is gone. I can always purchase new worldly possessions, but not scrapbooks, pictures and memories of my children as my illness worsens. Some people are praying on your downfall for financial lining of their pocket.

I was renting a storage unit J75 in Bradenton, Florida. The storage had a roof leak, damaging my possessions. It was incredibly infested with spiders, roaches, and mice. For all the money we pay, one would think the units could be sprayed once in a while. I will NOT recommend Cubesmart to anybody. Shame on you, Cubesmart!

I have been a renter since May 2023 at this storage facility without missing any payments. On 10/2/2023 I visited my storage unit to only find my belongings destroyed covered in rodent feces and urine. There are also cockroaches at this storage facility as I saw a few during this time. I had no idea my belongings were covered in rodent urine until I started to pick up my bags to maneuver things around and noticed that my hands were wet with the smell of urine. I am allergic to cockroaches, I immediately get rhinitis in the setting of them.
I stormed to the office to advise a manager of this situation TWICE to only be told “they are not here at the moment and will get back to you later on today”. I’m a registered nurse and my schedule is hectic. I have taken two days off from work to attend to this matter. Trying to salvage what is left of my belongings, throw away all damaged items, and trying to close this storage unit. A manager still hasn’t gotten back to me regarding this matter, and the weekend is approaching.
I have also filed an insurance claim with the hope of my belongings to be replaced only to be notified that rodent damage IS NOT covered with the insurance policy. This is not only frustrating, but it's very inconvenient and unfortunate. The district manager reached out to me saying he will try to get me a refund worth 3 months of storage payments ONLY and that I was responsible for THEIR storage facility being rodent infested. He made it very clear that CUBESMART is concerned with their reputation ONLY and asked me not to leave a review. This was over 2 weeks ago & no one has resolved my issue. I never got a chance to speak with the manager of the facility DIRECTLY. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE CUBESMART AS THE COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT THEIR REPUTATION INSTEAD OF THEIR CUSTOMER'S SUPPORT. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY & YOUR BELONGINGS WILL BE DESTROYED.

Earlier in the spring my partner and I rented a large storage unit in Columbia. We loved the space and the cleanliness of the unit and facility. The negative part was the price. It is very high and within a few months our price went up $100. My partner spoke with someone explaining our plight. They would get back to us. Today we spoke with Dre who told us they were able to help us lower the price and we are eternally grateful as we are seniors on a budget by bootstrapping our business. Every dollar certainly counts. When finished using unit, store manager was able to dispose of one last item that I couldn't remove due to lack of space on my truck. Very nice man and very accommodating. Would use them again, if needed.

In Ames, Iowa Jodi was a great with helping me with reserving my unit at a decent price. When it came time for me to move In, my reservation was no longer valid as they decreased reservation times down to only 8 days with no given notice and I never received a email nor a text saying that it was cancelled. Jodi contacted the district manager Mike and he informed her and the other customer service representative (who's temporary), that they won't honor my move in price and now I have to pay today's 35% price increase with no given notice.
Fast forward a few weeks and Jodi sent another email to Mike and he confirmed that I can get my original payment. When I received and paid my first bill it was considerably more than what it was suppose to be. I went into the office and Jodi emailed him again and said she would reach out after he responds. A week or so passes and I return to the storefront, to discover Jodi has been let go and the new receptionist gave me the Manager number and he won’t respond or call back. I just paid my second bill today and due to lack of communication on management’s behalf, I will be looking for another facility or selling everything in my unit.

I rented three units when the building my shop was in sold. They went up in price so many times I had to throw most of my items away just to close the units...It cost more than my shop did! I am down to one unit now and the cost has more than doubled. Their philosophy is most people are there because they have no place to put things (obviously)...therefore they cannot leave so they continue to raise the price because they know "they have you"....and then, if you are 1 week late in your payment, they charge you a 20% fee...for me that is $68.00!! This is extortion, they have your things and think that they can charge you whatever they want because you HAVE to pay it. Stay away from this place at all costs!!

I have been storing at Cubesmart for four plus years, prices raised yearly. I am now paying THREE TIMES what they are charging currently for the exact same space. Corporate customer service is nonexistent and local is of very little help.

I went in to look at storage units. Christy was very helpful and answered all my questions. I originally had a few more places to look at but she won me over and I rented from her. Her professional is the best bar none. I will most definitely tell all my friends to go see her.

We went to empty our storage unit and found mice had chewed up boxes, books, important paperwork, pictures, etc. Also rain had leaked through and destroyed boxes. It is a place I would never recommend! The health department should.

We haven't even had our storage a year yet and the price has jumped 2xs already. We're going to be paying basically $300 nowadays month. Not even worth it anymore. All our stuff smells musty or damp. We will either look for a new Storage place or just pull everything out get rid of tons of our stuff so we don't need storage anymore.

West Des Moines, IA. If you're looking for OUTSIDE storage, keep looking. They advertise being well-lit, and secure; that is a joke. After our toy-hauler was broken into we asked about the cameras....answer was, "Oh, sorry we don't have them" or "they weren't working in the area we rented." I'm writing this while "on hold" for their SureSmart/Great American Insurance customer service; 20 mins and holding. I detest companies with "America" in their name that have horrible service, do better or get out of business!

This place is not maintained and in HORRIBLE condition! The security gate is left open 24/7. Everything I had stored there was ruined due to severe roof leaks. I have photos of all of my belongings covered in mildew and mold. I also have pictures of the ceiling that is covered in mold and mildew from the leaking roof. They say I have no insurance, which I have proof of on my monthly receipts. All of my belongings are a complete loss and no one will try to help rectify the situation.

My quad was stolen in less than a day when I first placed it there at the Taunton Massachusetts location. I have every reason to believe the facility manager and at least 1 other person were responsible for this loss. No one knew I was there unloading the quad and no one was around to see me. I would not recommend this company and they only had 1 camera at the gate to see who is coming or going but nowhere else in the facility. After the theft I found a hole cut in the fence for a person to enter and the gate opens automatically upon leaving with no code needed, what a nice setup for an inside job! They were uncooperative with me and authorities, if you have valuable property stay away from this company.

I rented two units from them. Hhad my possession in storage for a few years and never once was informed that they had a mice infestation. I paid for my possession to get destroyed. They dropped my insurance.

The workers are ok. However, the changes that are being made in the last few months are nothing short of discouraging. Security is non-existent. No lighting is in the parking lot. 1840 Iris Dr. is not a place to rent from. High rental price with peace of mind. Gravel yard need major overhaul.

My husband and I have parked our big rig truck at this property for 8 years now. Very loyal to this property in Conyers GA.. We are now being told the rental space will double.. because of greed.. I understand profits.. However I don’t understand robbery when the economy is not doubling our paychecks. DO NOT RENT SPACE HERE. They will suck you dry and nickel and dime you til you bleed!

I have a unit at 3103 N Decatur Rd Scottsdale, GA 30079. I have been there since they first opened. The facility was fine at first, the Manager Doug at that time was always very nice and helpful. However, after opening it’s become an absolute nightmare. The Management went from nice and helpful to horrible whenever the office is staffed. There has been a 25% rate increase every three months since I moved in. With no access to the restroom when Management is not available (which is 99.9%) of the time. And no trash can or dumpster for the customers. Failure to repair the front door after months and months of it being broken.
And now the biggest situation ever, someone is smoking ** and cigarettes in the storage. One would think with all those hundreds of cameras that are in place it shouldn't be a problem to find out who this person is. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Manager isn't already aware who this person is. So in the event there’s a fire please don’t allow them to make you collect off your insurance. As of April 2023 the Corporate office was made aware of what's going on and as of May 2023 it's still going on.

Tucson, Arizona, the Prudence Road location- Extremely aggressive rent increases every six months. The percentage increases make no sense, other than greed. Had the unit for just a year and a half. Started at $366 a month and by the time I was out it was $446! Also strange that I could rent a larger unit at another close CubeSmart for far less, but would have to pay all the set up fees again along with moving. When I rented the unit there was an office at the location, then that soon was closed and I had to transact with the other nearby location. One renting the unit, a day after starting to move in it rained and I had water inside from the roof, a large crack in the wall and under one door. Fortunately nothing got wet at that time. I clauked the crack on the inside myself at my expense. I had put down pallet, so nothing was on the floor if there was further rain trouble.
The roof was repaired in a short time, but the crack was fixed only on the outside by a complete amateur, horrible job. After moving in every time it rained I had water 4 feet in the unit as there was no sweep plate on one door. I asked about repairing this every month for over a year before it was fixed. I had some water damage to a bookshelf, but caught that and put blocks under it. The water problem with the door was constant and I was told repeatedly that it would be fixed and it took well over a year to do so- a $20 part and a few screws. Dust, spiders and insect damage were a problem there. Many valuable books damaged by insects. Insured, but just a hassle to get any recovery there. The staff was always very pleasant, but seemed to know they could do nothing. Overall a very bad experience and company. I have had many storages over the years and this was the worst, both in price and service. Take my advice and find another company for storage.

Do not use Cube smart... I had my credit card on file for monthly charges and I noticed $170 charge on my credit statement. They had been charging me a new rate without confirming with me for the last 3 months. I went to see what was the charges and I noticed a $12 fee for insurance that I never agreed on and the monthly rate was $157. I look online to see their rates and the same storage size is advertised at $121. I asked them nicely to move the rate back the the orig 138 that I have originally started with. They did not want to and said it was for new customers.
Well... I will vacate this unit and have acquired another unit from another storage company ($100). The lady at the store was bitchy and totally unprofessional. I will never use this company again and it's my opinion that they hoped I would not notice the new charge and just keep on paying without know what was happening. Never leave your card on file if they have a policy of jacking rates up without notification.

My problem began at the Cubesmart-managed property on Strack Rd. Houston Tx. I have been a long-time customer of Cubesmart in which I assumed we had a relationship but I was wrong. I am an auction buyer. This is a company that I have bought and brought back units to save the company from lawsuit because they were wrongfully sold several times yet they tell me they follow policy. A couple of days ago I bought a unit which I will upload all pictures where it was staged or set up (all units are bought online by pic). So in the pictures of this 25x38 shows nothing but boxes purposely stacked so the contents behind could not be seen.
Upon coming to the facility after purchase we opened unit. Also I must mention I've done this for 29 years. I noticed up close in person the boxes looked weird so I pushed them to find out they were all empty and trash. Looking behind the boxes was 38ft of trash. Upon going further going in I find a door with the address to the storage facility, move in special signs and stacks of old storage boxes. Immediately I knew this was a setup unit. First thing, a customer would not have the front door to the storage facility, secondly they would not have huge move-in special signs and they definitely wouldn't have stacks of old moving boxes.
There was even 30-gallon barrels of old oil in the back at least 6. What customer pays $500 a month for this? The manager even agreed it was trash and emailed dm and she went on this rant that they don't set up units and they don't go past the threshold. So why 30 minutes later she says she rented the unit to the tenant that way and she knew what was in back of unit. So company policy permits customers to rent units with company trash in them? Interesting! So the district manager would not talk to me initially and stated there was nothing he can do. So I called 1800 number and he calls me back and says he can't give money back but he won't ban me. Why would I be banned anyway for trash the company put in unit initially whether a customer rented or not? This is the kicker! The unit cost $540 plus $200 to clean out someone else's dumped trash. That's unacceptable!
So I called 1800 number again to leave message for dvp and dm calls back again when I specifically said he can't help me. So the dvp is too busy to deal with my level. This forced me to tell the whole truth about Cubesmart. What angered me the most is its obvious and I have literally brought units back, customer units with private information to Cubesmart after buying because they were not supposed to be sold. At one point I had a district manager offer me a car in exchange for a unit that was not supposed to be sold. But no, I didn't say anything because I felt they would take care of me as I took care of them. I have witnessed of it all. The company has a reputation in the auction world of dishonesty but it never happened to me until now. It's not about the money but the principal. The last thing the dm stated was, "Do what you have to do" and here I begin.
I want it to be understood that I wasn't rude. I didn't curse anyone. I tried to handle it in a manner in which this wouldn't go public, not an angry ** man. Just as I would leave reviews for storage managers that would ask I leave this review for the public to see also with pic. I don't know who did what but company materials have no business being in a tenant unit and a tenant doesn't stack empty boxes across front door 7 ft high. I shouldn't have to bring back customer units that should not have been sold in the first place.
Could someone tell me where is this in company policy and also renting units with trash in them is number one priority and when they don't pay just stage them units so we can get the most out of them. Honesty and integrity is fair. It could be an honest mistake but honesty went out the window when we couldn't reason. It's amazing when they're trying to get those customer units back that the district manager would give a cell phone number to make sure the transaction is done properly. But when I'm wronged as a customer it doesn't matter.

My unit was broken into in Jan 2023 because they didn't fix the front locks for months. Then my unit was broken into again in March 2023. This is outrageous. I cannot believe how bad this company is. They should figure out how to have some security. Cameras would be a good first step, but they need a complete overhaul.

CubeSmart: 501 Callowhill, Philadelphia PA: DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. We rented a 10x10 unit in March '22 in a temporature-controlled gated area. We usually come once or twice a month to bring new items or retrieve other items. Yesterday when we arrived, the motorized loading gate was broken and was wide open, though I did not see any car backed in and using it (wonder how long that had been broken and open). Also, we noticed that one of the doors that should close automatically behind a guest doesn't quite catch and is often left ajar if you don't manually close it (wonder how long that had been not operating properly).
So, On Sunday 2/25 when we got into our area, we noticed a pair of our slippers sitting outside of the garage gate to our unit. The lock appeared to still be on the garage door; howevever, when we touched it the entire locking apparatus fell to the floor. We lifted the gate and discovered that we had been robbed! Someone had entered the secure location, climbed on top of the storage units, looked down through the chicken wire (I guess they liked what they saw in ours), cut through the wire on the top, looked through all of our things and ransacked our possessions, unscrewed the locking apparatus from inside the unit, exited through the garage door, jerry-rigged the lock to LOOK like it was intact and walked out with large, expensive and some irreplaceable items.
To add insult the injury, there was a single staff person on site (there is usually just one person and the only security is doors/gates that require a code). We immediately notified the staff person who was only able to take pictures and give us a brochure to call for insurance. There was no offer for a free temporary space to house our items until a secure location could be found...not even an offer for free boxes to box the items that had been removed from luggage (that was stolen) and strewn about. We filed a police report, and we will definitely file a claim...which won't cover all that we have lost like personal papers, priceless jewelry, etc. We will also notify the BBB and every outlet that we can find to help others from making the same mistake that we did by using this facility. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY.

Got a quote and tried to get more info from the company. They couldn't answer questions. Didn't answer calls at my local CubeSmart. Voice-mail was full and no reply. They needed me to buy a $20 lock when I had my own. Everything about my experience was overpriced and sucked **. Bankrupt soon hopefully.

I am currently a tenant at Cubesmart being evicted because I spoke out about the RACIAL DISCRIMINATION I'm dealing with at this location in West Hempstead NY. Since I've been here, I've been RACIALLY PROFILE, STALKED and HARRASSED. I spoke to the manager (JENNIFER) about me being RACIALLY PROFILE and asked to see footage from the cameras which I was denied several times. And that is because she (Jennifer) is down with the nonsense which is coming from one of the workers she manages at the job.
The other worker at the job which I do not have his name is the real culprit. The guy who works at Cubesmart has two tenants that are his friends. And what he does is, he watches me on camera every time I come to the storage, and then call the two other tenants to tell them where I'm at so they could stalk and harass me. I couldn't take it anymore and went inside the office to speak out about it and they called the police on me. And then told me I was evicted. So now I'm being evicted because I spoke up about the RACIAL DISCRIMINATION I'm dealing with at the location. Not one time did the manager (Jennifer) asked me what was the problem. Jennifer handed me a eviction letter a few days ago without any explanation of why I'm being evicted. By the way, Jennifer is **, her coworker (who's name I do not have at the moment) is **, and I am **.

I’ve been a paying customer for almost one year. In that time, I have twice due to circumstances fallen behind in timely payment due to circumstances beyond my control. Twice I attempted to proactively bring this to the company attention before the bills were due. Twice the company has responded with a standard lockstep march towards me losing my things to seizure and auction. There is a toxic attitude in the industry, and this company epitomizes that- the attitude that anyone using their services is a marginal person, dislocated because they are lesser-thans. Dealing with these people is like dealing with some petty tyrant in the parole office or the traffic courts. Do yourself a favor, find some better service provider.

I had a unit at the CubeSmart located on Murfreesboro Pk. And I paid for the insurance they provided. And was assured that the insurance covered all of my valuable tools and artifacts. April of 2020 there was a flooding event that took place in Nashville. That flooded my unit. I lost over $6,000 in tools and relics was priceless. They proceeded to tell me that the insurance didn't cover flooding. But they sold it to me in a known flood zone. It's been 2 years still no compensation. I would never recommend cube smart. They are crooked and I believe they are intentionally selling insurance that does not cover certain things. Even though they assured me that it covered everything. I Strongly advise against anyone renting or doing business with cubesmart. They are dishonest and unprofessional.

My rent was raised as others had stated. I went to my storage unit yesterday to grab some Christmas items and the area was covered in mouse poop. I have never experienced such filth!! I went into the office to speak with the employee who stated that the incident was covered under insurance. After driving to another cubesmart I learned that the employee's name is Dora and she is an assistant manager. When I walked in she was flirting with a gentleman and told me that it would be some time before she could help me!!! That was why I went to another CubeSmart!!!! The rodent infestation was not covered by insurance!!!

Port Union Rd, Fairfield Ohio. I rented this unit 8 months ago. The area advertised a secure perimeter. Something damaged the security gate 3 months ago and it has not been replaced yet and the front gate is open 24 hours a day. When I went to find out what was going on, the office manager said if I didn't like it, move out. I have been paying for a secure location and am not receiving the advertised service.

I had to store some furniture. I got sick and have not been able to move the furniture out of storage. I started out paying around $203.00 a month for one unit. CubeSmart raises their rental fees every six months. They charged me for insurance even though my insurance company sent them proof of my insurance. They went from $1.95 to $5.24 for convenience fee to pay online. I am now paying $283.56 a month. For what? Nothing has changed. There are no improvements. Why would they need to continue to increase the monthly rent?

I will not ever do any more business with Cubesmart again. They have the rudest office staff that I have ever seen in my life and they keep raising rates every month and they don't allow the people that are renters to use their facilities and equipment and will not allow their customers to throw their trash away. They keep not 1 but 2 big ** locks on the dumpster so you can't even try and if you ask them if you can use it they tell you NO THAT IS USED FOR OFFICE STAFF ONLY and don't want you to hold the elevator.

Cubesmart is a rip-off… They will consistently raise your monthly price.. Your bill can raise up to $100 or more within a year. They base it off percentages.. It will not help to talk to a general manager or district manager. They live to cheat the customer. Stay away.. They pretend to be for you. But it’s all lies. They do not deserve one star.

I have been a customer for over 5 years at this storage location and when Cube Smart took over the problems started!! They have raised my rent 4 times in the last year and half over $100 dollars, they also lied to me and just told me that I can't make a credit card payment over the phone, which I have been doing for 5 years!!!! I was also told by the previous management that they raise the rates to push the current/older customers out so they can charge an even HIGHER rate to the new customers. SMDH. I have reported them to the State Atty General as well as the FCC for price gouging and unethical business practices. PLEASE look at the reviews before using this company!! All they care about is the money not the customer!!!!

About a couple of months ago Cubesmart took over Storage West. A storage rental facility. I've been a customer for 8 yrs. My rent for a 10x20 started $256.00 month. Every year they raised my rent about $15. (I wasn't happy with it). So my space is $355.00 month. Now Cubesmart comes along and two weeks before my due payment I get an Email saying my bill is $430.00. An increase of $75.00. Filing a complaint, let you know what happens.

I was told I was getting the online deal, and 1st month free. Ended up paying 2 month price. I'm paying $240 (for now) for a 5×10 storage space. That's definitely not a reasonable price for that small storage. Stay far away from this place.

Lcation on West Vista Way in Vista, CA had indoor units broken into, and provided no notification to customers. I showed up to the unit to find out my contents had been rifled through and over $2500 in items minimum stolen. After filing a police report the police said the neighboring unit was also broken into. I wonder how many other units were broken into? What type of negligence is it to have a break in and not notify ANY customers? Facility then acted like I was some stranger storing my stuff there for free. Horrible experience.

I have been back and forth to my storage at CubeSmart a number of times here in Dickinson Tx 77539 and have never seen this store so busy they can't answer the phone. Every time I call you have to go through this STUPID automated system and can never get thru to anyone so what the hell happen to customer service??? Anyway, I've been paying $79.00 for my unit and I just notice the other day they advertise the same unit for $67.00 and some change and in the past couple weeks I was given notice my storage was going up to $90.00 a month so I went and moved everything out of the unit and now they won't answer the phone, WTH...

I gave Cubesmart 1-month's notice that I would be moving out January 14th, 2022. HRA was 30 days late in paying the bill, so I gathered up some extra funding and sent it in myself to avoid auctioning while I was in the process of moving out. On the 31st day, HRA finally sends a payment, but now they have received an extra $111 from me that I barely could spare at the time - making it paid up to an extra month, February 14th. I wasn't thinking much of it considering I notified them of the move well in advance, and assumed they would be courteous and just mail the prepaid rent to my address. Well first off, I called the facility and asked them to confirm that my account was indeed closed and site vacated and left open. The girl told me the account was still open, then proceeded to just repeat the information I'd just given her saying I moved out and left the cube open. That isn't confirmation of an account closure at all.
I then asked her about the refund for the prepaid rent and she couldn't give me an answer, so I asked her to note my account and forward it to the site supervisor so he could further assist, and she alleged to have done so. I proceed to call Cubesmart at the main phone number and ask about a refund for the prepaid rent per se and was told they don't provide prorated rebates. I then went to Cubesmart's online chat and informed them of the 1/14 move out and asked them if they closed my account. The chat specialist said she saw my account was still open so she forwarded the site facility an email confirming them the cube was vacated and requested to close my account. I then asked if I would be refunded and she said she will certainly request that. So what's the deal Cubesmart? I understand if you don't offer refunds for unused days, but prepaid or surplus rent is a different scenario altogether! The payments were made exactly 24 hours from each other!
I spoke with staff endless times to ask for extensions and was promptly denied. But you promptly took the money and don't consider that a foul? Not to mention my belongings were COVERED with rat ** and turds! The boxes and covers I used to block out YOUR cockroaches were chewed through and mutilated. Yet, you offer NO WARNING OF THE PEST PROBLEM, and NO INSURANCE to potentially compensate for damage. But you put rat poison packs in my new cubicle making it clear that you're acknowledging the problem WELL AFTER I PAID FOR THE UNIT! Disgusting! Not just the vermin, but your made up rules and policy facade! Utterly disgraceful! I left the rat turds for YOU to clean up. ;)

I signed up with Extra Space. Within 2 months Cube Smart bought it out and immediately raised my rent. They continued to steadily raise my rent by $5 then $10 then $20. They are fraudulent. I called and spoke to the manager and he denied it even though I sent him pictures of the steady increase from my bank account. Ever heard the term gaslight? You can't tell someone you haven't raised their rent when they have steady proof from their bank account that you have indeed significantly raised the rent. The manager was rude and uncaring he literally did nothing to help me.
They shouldn't be in business and to claim they are #1 in customer service...read the reviews below...enough said. They are despicable and do not care about their tenants, all they care about is the dollar. DO NOT RENT HERE you will be sadly disappointed. I have had a unit with Public Storage and they do not operate this way. In a time where people need honest and help due to the pandemic Cube Smart is exploiting instead of helping. It's purely inexcusable.

I winter in Miami Beach and decided to store much of the stuff I bring back and forth from Chicago each year. I rented a space at CubeSmart -- 15 minutes from where I stay in Miami Beach. After about 5 months of paying rent I received a notice that my things had to be "out in 2 weeks". The message was sent by regular mail to me in Chicago with an erroneous address -- it just happened to get to me. There was no provision or arrangement to move my things to another facility. I spent a considerable sum having a mover get my things and move them to a different storage facility in Miami proper. I requested a refund and received no response. I called the national CubeSmart office and they could not do anything.
I complained to the Better Business Bureau and CubeSmart NEVER responded to their inquiries. The place seemed so well organized when I went to store my things. I understand the property was sold for many millions of dollars. My costs for moving my items should have been reimbursed and they should have made alternative arrangements for me. This company is a horror show and I would never deal with them again and recommend everyone else stay far away as well. I gave them a chance to behave properly and they did nothing.

So I rented this storage in SB 1450 W. 23rd St, San Bernardino CA, 92411. I had it for two months and seen Rat poop all over my stuff. Disgusting. I do not recommend this place. Manager has not contacted me. They just care to collect your money while your stuff is ruined...

1) Advertised "free" unit for a month. Still had to pay some. 2) They recommended the size unit we would need for a 2 bedroom place. We have 1 bed, 1 dresser, a small table & no living room couches or chairs & some personal things in boxes. They reassured us that they would help us out if it was not enough room. We ended up renting a second unit, which was NOT free. When I asked about getting the unit that would actually be big enough for 2 bedrooms, that one is NOT free for first month.
3) The "free" month is over & they sent an invoice for both the units stating it would be auto pay. Then I get dunning emails to pay my bill. Their system sent out the bill & the notices that auto pay was coming (enough for both units), but one was not really set up. It took me hours today to straighten it out. 4) I called the store 2 days prior to ask about the dunning emails, left a message, AND HE NEVER CALLED BACK. We rented a unit here before and was VERY happy with our service. Quite the opposite this time.

They deserve nothing. 7070 E speedway location - My unit was broken into and this place is a complete and utter joke when it came to letting Nancy know. She literally couldn’t give a crap. She took no pictures, didn't document a single thing and I had to tell her that she needed to give me a new lock because they made a makeshift lock which my key somehow worked in?!!! It was hard to turn but it was a lock that was welded together. Everything is GONE. EVERY PRECIOUS ITEM IS GONE!!!! they have 2 cameras that only look at the front entrance/exit gate. Nothing protects the units. Nancy said she in the golf cart “everyday, several times a day” and the only damn thing she is looking at are stickers on the lock? IF THAT'S THE CASE THEN WOULDN'T YOU HAVE SEEN THAT A STICKER WAS ON A LOCK THAT DIDN'T BELONG TO THE UNIT?!!! She immediately knew it wasn’t their locks when I made her come to my unit but she couldn’t see it driving around all ** day?!!! Everyday?!!! Worst company ever.

We have stored personal items and business records and equipment for 10 years with their outlet in Long Beach, CA. In the last six months, our units have been broken into twice, with items taken. Despite assurances, this outlet does not have any security. They don't have cameras in the area of our unit, though we were told that they do. The outlet borders a homeless encampment, and the fencing is inadequate and easily breached. We have requested documentation of the incidents, and have been denied this. We have asked to speak to the branch manager, and this has not occurred. No mechanism for making an insurance claim has been provided. Many others have a similar experience. Don't do business with CubeSmart, and be prepared to sue them.

My bill increased from $160 to over $190 without me being notified. I called and was told this is a yearly increase, even though I was never told of this before. I pointed out that today only begins my sixth month with CubeSmart. The representative was at a loss to explain the increase. Fortunately, we will not have to use this rip off company for much longer.

I've had a storage space with them since 2010 and have always paid consistently for a decade. It seems my card on file expired and they cut my lock and were going forward with selling my stuff. Luckily I logged in and paid in time but they didn't save my card I used and instead still tried to use my expired card! Not only that but I never received a call, an email or text that my card on file has expired. How can a company as large as CubeSmart not have a simple feature to notify a user that their card on file is about to expire? That is so standard in web development.
Another thing is that they have an email account for me that I no longer have access to and I can't even change my email address to a current one. That's essentially like not allowing someone to switch their address. It's absurd that some simple features are missing. It's almost like they want storage space to go to auction.
I got a call from someone that informed me my card was expired (finally) and that they had cut my lock and need me to buy a new one. We have a key on file with them so why would they cut my lock? Why would they cut someone's lock who has consistently paid for a decade? Again, it's like you want to be able to auction off storage spaces.
I asked the person on the phone why they never called me when my card was expired and he literally said their phone system was down. I thought he was kidding to be a smarty but he was dead serious. I have 2 calls on record from a number with a 267 code and then 3 calls from a number with a 512 area code. So 5 calls total, zero text notifications, zero email notifications because I can't change my email on my account, and zero mail notifications? They really want to auction off storage spaces.
It's ridiculous that the system in place makes little attempt to contact someone with a card issue. After very few contact attempts they cut someone's lock that has been with them for a decade (even though I have a key on file), users can't change their email address on file, they have a phone system that "was down" and couldn't contact me in a window of time that was crucial. Truly ridiculous.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Apparently Cubesmart was not aware of how hot their units are. Nor did they inform their customers about the issue either so they could attempt to protect their possessions. I informed cubesmart about the temperature of 97 degrees inside the climate controlled building. They had no idea...which makes me question how long has the a/c been an issue. CubeSmart said they had fans inside but when I was there 7-20-2021 @ 4pm...There were NO fans. I went back the following day and still no fans. I am going back today to see if the a/c is fixed or if they actually put out fans. I’m very concerned about my possessions.
I also asked why they raised the storage rent twice in a year...I got a political response. The lady said they look at rental rates around them and can raise or decrease prices twice a year. That’s extreme! Oh and you can forget about using the facility dumpster. Kinda redundant for a storage facility to have dumpsters but the renters can’t use them.

Disgusting units. HORRIBLE UNCOMPASSIONATE EMPLOYEES!!!! I moved in 1/21, went back 5/21 with movers to move out to my new place and the manager in 1/21 gave me wrong keys. The manager 5/21 told me at my expense I needed to get a locksmith to saw lock off, 1st MISTAKE!!! After 2 hrs with MY MOVERS on the clock the lock was finally sawed off at Cubesmart's expense! Mover moved everything to my new house and all ROACHES the size of my index finger came out of all the boxes. There were tons of roaches and poop all in my cubesmart unit as well and now in my new house and ruined some of my beautiful 8k dining room table chairs and much more!!!!
Here we are July 2021, I filled out multiple incident reports (employees which change daily said they can’t see if reports were filed in the system)! They offered me a rent rebate!!! I had to move all my stuff out of my new house and back to cubesmart and bomb the house! Cubesmart told me they would bomb my unit NEVER HAPPENED and file an ins claim which I did! Ins co called me backed after hrs to let me know the ins DOESN'T COVER RODENTS OR INSECTS. So basically not only have I paid to store my entire life in this unit and ruined irreplaceable items, im out $2500 + all the rent I’ve paid for this crap hole. Me as a tenant does not want to hear cubesmart employees telling me “it is a terrible company to work for, I’m only getting paid 10$ an hour, retiring in 9/21!" THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM. I HAVE PICTURES VIDEOS FOR BACK UP! I’ve sent them and no one cares. I truly hope people read this before storing with them.

Get ready to pay a lot of fees in addition to the cost of the rental. This company specializes in nickle and diming their customers. Worst offense: requiring a fee to make a payment, then having the audacity to call it a "courtesy fee."

In short. I have been renting a 5x10 since Sept. 2020 for the agreed - online price of 39.00. Up til March they auto debited my account for 49.00 w\o notice. I disputed 10.00 of the 49.00. Now I have to pay 90.00 which include the 39.00 twice. Manager nor district manager would correct the issue. CUBESMART will increase your rate at any time w\o notice. Pre-pandemic the business was not like this but sadly now they are all about ripping people off when people are in need the most. RENTER BEWARE!!!

My rate was increased a high amount this month, during Covid-19. I'm always on time with my payments, it's ridiculous. I've called and email and no one helped me. I'm now paying over $400 for a unit, WOW! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. BE CAREFUL, THEY WILL RAISE YOUR RATES WITHOUT NOTICE.
