I have been a renter since May 2023 at this storage facility without missing any payments. On 10/2/2023 I visited my storage unit to only find my belongings destroyed covered in rodent feces and urine. There are also cockroaches at this storage facility as I saw a few during this time. I had no idea my belongings were covered in rodent urine until I started to pick up my bags to maneuver things around and noticed that my hands were wet with the smell of urine. I am allergic to cockroaches, I immediately get rhinitis in the setting of them.

I stormed to the office to advise a manager of this situation TWICE to only be told “they are not here at the moment and will get back to you later on today”. I’m a registered nurse and my schedule is hectic. I have taken two days off from work to attend to this matter. Trying to salvage what is left of my belongings, throw away all damaged items, and trying to close this storage unit. A manager still hasn’t gotten back to me regarding this matter, and the weekend is approaching.

I have also filed an insurance claim with the hope of my belongings to be replaced only to be notified that rodent damage IS NOT covered with the insurance policy. This is not only frustrating, but it's very inconvenient and unfortunate. The district manager reached out to me saying he will try to get me a refund worth 3 months of storage payments ONLY and that I was responsible for THEIR storage facility being rodent infested. He made it very clear that CUBESMART is concerned with their reputation ONLY and asked me not to leave a review. This was over 2 weeks ago & no one has resolved my issue. I never got a chance to speak with the manager of the facility DIRECTLY. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE CUBESMART AS THE COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT THEIR REPUTATION INSTEAD OF THEIR CUSTOMER'S SUPPORT. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY & YOUR BELONGINGS WILL BE DESTROYED.

I rented a storage unit for 3-4 years. I rarely went to the unit during this time period. I missed a monthly payment once, but I paid it when I remembered. When I went to move my belongings into a new apartment, I found a new lock on my unit and some of my belongings were stolen. I will never use or recommend Cubesmart.

They offer a first very low price for a storage unit. But Read the contract very well, additional charges, will apply in the following months. Also very high late fees during one month. And They have different owners, You have to pay in the same location.

In Ames, Iowa Jodi was a great with helping me with reserving my unit at a decent price. When it came time for me to move In, my reservation was no longer valid as they decreased reservation times down to only 8 days with no given notice and I never received a email nor a text saying that it was cancelled. Jodi contacted the district manager Mike and he informed her and the other customer service representative (who's temporary), that they won't honor my move in price and now I have to pay today's 35% price increase with no given notice.

Fast forward a few weeks and Jodi sent another email to Mike and he confirmed that I can get my original payment. When I received and paid my first bill it was considerably more than what it was suppose to be. I went into the office and Jodi emailed him again and said she would reach out after he responds. A week or so passes and I return to the storefront, to discover Jodi has been let go and the new receptionist gave me the Manager number and he won’t respond or call back. I just paid my second bill today and due to lack of communication on management’s behalf, I will be looking for another facility or selling everything in my unit.

I rented three units when the building my shop was in sold. They went up in price so many times I had to throw most of my items away just to close the units...It cost more than my shop did! I am down to one unit now and the cost has more than doubled. Their philosophy is most people are there because they have no place to put things (obviously)...therefore they cannot leave so they continue to raise the price because they know "they have you"....and then, if you are 1 week late in your payment, they charge you a 20% fee...for me that is $68.00!! This is extortion, they have your things and think that they can charge you whatever they want because you HAVE to pay it. Stay away from this place at all costs!!

I have been storing at Cubesmart for four plus years, prices raised yearly. I am now paying THREE TIMES what they are charging currently for the exact same space. Corporate customer service is nonexistent and local is of very little help.

We went to empty our storage unit and found mice had chewed up boxes, books, important paperwork, pictures, etc. Also rain had leaked through and destroyed boxes. It is a place I would never recommend! The health department should.

We haven't even had our storage a year yet and the price has jumped 2xs already. We're going to be paying basically $300 nowadays month. Not even worth it anymore. All our stuff smells musty or damp. We will either look for a new Storage place or just pull everything out get rid of tons of our stuff so we don't need storage anymore.

West Des Moines, IA. If you're looking for OUTSIDE storage, keep looking. They advertise being well-lit, and secure; that is a joke. After our toy-hauler was broken into we asked about the cameras....answer was, "Oh, sorry we don't have them" or "they weren't working in the area we rented." I'm writing this while "on hold" for their SureSmart/Great American Insurance customer service; 20 mins and holding. I detest companies with "America" in their name that have horrible service, do better or get out of business!

This place is not maintained and in HORRIBLE condition! The security gate is left open 24/7. Everything I had stored there was ruined due to severe roof leaks. I have photos of all of my belongings covered in mildew and mold. I also have pictures of the ceiling that is covered in mold and mildew from the leaking roof. They say I have no insurance, which I have proof of on my monthly receipts. All of my belongings are a complete loss and no one will try to help rectify the situation.

My quad was stolen in less than a day when I first placed it there at the Taunton Massachusetts location. I have every reason to believe the facility manager and at least 1 other person were responsible for this loss. No one knew I was there unloading the quad and no one was around to see me. I would not recommend this company and they only had 1 camera at the gate to see who is coming or going but nowhere else in the facility. After the theft I found a hole cut in the fence for a person to enter and the gate opens automatically upon leaving with no code needed, what a nice setup for an inside job! They were uncooperative with me and authorities, if you have valuable property stay away from this company.

I rented two units from them. Hhad my possession in storage for a few years and never once was informed that they had a mice infestation. I paid for my possession to get destroyed. They dropped my insurance.

The workers are ok. However, the changes that are being made in the last few months are nothing short of discouraging. Security is non-existent. No lighting is in the parking lot. 1840 Iris Dr. is not a place to rent from. High rental price with peace of mind. Gravel yard need major overhaul.

My husband and I have parked our big rig truck at this property for 8 years now. Very loyal to this property in Conyers GA.. We are now being told the rental space will double.. because of greed.. I understand profits.. However I don’t understand robbery when the economy is not doubling our paychecks. DO NOT RENT SPACE HERE. They will suck you dry and nickel and dime you til you bleed!

I have a unit at 3103 N Decatur Rd Scottsdale, GA 30079. I have been there since they first opened. The facility was fine at first, the Manager Doug at that time was always very nice and helpful. However, after opening it’s become an absolute nightmare. The Management went from nice and helpful to horrible whenever the office is staffed. There has been a 25% rate increase every three months since I moved in. With no access to the restroom when Management is not available (which is 99.9%) of the time. And no trash can or dumpster for the customers. Failure to repair the front door after months and months of it being broken.

And now the biggest situation ever, someone is smoking ** and cigarettes in the storage. One would think with all those hundreds of cameras that are in place it shouldn't be a problem to find out who this person is. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Manager isn't already aware who this person is. So in the event there’s a fire please don’t allow them to make you collect off your insurance. As of April 2023 the Corporate office was made aware of what's going on and as of May 2023 it's still going on.

Tucson, Arizona, the Prudence Road location- Extremely aggressive rent increases every six months. The percentage increases make no sense, other than greed. Had the unit for just a year and a half. Started at $366 a month and by the time I was out it was $446! Also strange that I could rent a larger unit at another close CubeSmart for far less, but would have to pay all the set up fees again along with moving. When I rented the unit there was an office at the location, then that soon was closed and I had to transact with the other nearby location. One renting the unit, a day after starting to move in it rained and I had water inside from the roof, a large crack in the wall and under one door. Fortunately nothing got wet at that time. I clauked the crack on the inside myself at my expense. I had put down pallet, so nothing was on the floor if there was further rain trouble.

The roof was repaired in a short time, but the crack was fixed only on the outside by a complete amateur, horrible job. After moving in every time it rained I had water 4 feet in the unit as there was no sweep plate on one door. I asked about repairing this every month for over a year before it was fixed. I had some water damage to a bookshelf, but caught that and put blocks under it. The water problem with the door was constant and I was told repeatedly that it would be fixed and it took well over a year to do so- a $20 part and a few screws. Dust, spiders and insect damage were a problem there. Many valuable books damaged by insects. Insured, but just a hassle to get any recovery there. The staff was always very pleasant, but seemed to know they could do nothing. Overall a very bad experience and company. I have had many storages over the years and this was the worst, both in price and service. Take my advice and find another company for storage.

Do not use Cube smart... I had my credit card on file for monthly charges and I noticed $170 charge on my credit statement. They had been charging me a new rate without confirming with me for the last 3 months. I went to see what was the charges and I noticed a $12 fee for insurance that I never agreed on and the monthly rate was $157. I look online to see their rates and the same storage size is advertised at $121. I asked them nicely to move the rate back the the orig 138 that I have originally started with. They did not want to and said it was for new customers.

Well... I will vacate this unit and have acquired another unit from another storage company ($100). The lady at the store was bitchy and totally unprofessional. I will never use this company again and it's my opinion that they hoped I would not notice the new charge and just keep on paying without know what was happening. Never leave your card on file if they have a policy of jacking rates up without notification.

My problem began at the Cubesmart-managed property on Strack Rd. Houston Tx. I have been a long-time customer of Cubesmart in which I assumed we had a relationship but I was wrong. I am an auction buyer. This is a company that I have bought and brought back units to save the company from lawsuit because they were wrongfully sold several times yet they tell me they follow policy. A couple of days ago I bought a unit which I will upload all pictures where it was staged or set up (all units are bought online by pic). So in the pictures of this 25x38 shows nothing but boxes purposely stacked so the contents behind could not be seen.

Upon coming to the facility after purchase we opened unit. Also I must mention I've done this for 29 years. I noticed up close in person the boxes looked weird so I pushed them to find out they were all empty and trash. Looking behind the boxes was 38ft of trash. Upon going further going in I find a door with the address to the storage facility, move in special signs and stacks of old storage boxes. Immediately I knew this was a setup unit. First thing, a customer would not have the front door to the storage facility, secondly they would not have huge move-in special signs and they definitely wouldn't have stacks of old moving boxes.

There was even 30-gallon barrels of old oil in the back at least 6. What customer pays $500 a month for this? The manager even agreed it was trash and emailed dm and she went on this rant that they don't set up units and they don't go past the threshold. So why 30 minutes later she says she rented the unit to the tenant that way and she knew what was in back of unit. So company policy permits customers to rent units with company trash in them? Interesting! So the district manager would not talk to me initially and stated there was nothing he can do. So I called 1800 number and he calls me back and says he can't give money back but he won't ban me. Why would I be banned anyway for trash the company put in unit initially whether a customer rented or not? This is the kicker! The unit cost $540 plus $200 to clean out someone else's dumped trash. That's unacceptable!

So I called 1800 number again to leave message for dvp and dm calls back again when I specifically said he can't help me. So the dvp is too busy to deal with my level. This forced me to tell the whole truth about Cubesmart. What angered me the most is its obvious and I have literally brought units back, customer units with private information to Cubesmart after buying because they were not supposed to be sold. At one point I had a district manager offer me a car in exchange for a unit that was not supposed to be sold. But no, I didn't say anything because I felt they would take care of me as I took care of them. I have witnessed of it all. The company has a reputation in the auction world of dishonesty but it never happened to me until now. It's not about the money but the principal. The last thing the dm stated was, "Do what you have to do" and here I begin.

I want it to be understood that I wasn't rude. I didn't curse anyone. I tried to handle it in a manner in which this wouldn't go public, not an angry ** man. Just as I would leave reviews for storage managers that would ask I leave this review for the public to see also with pic. I don't know who did what but company materials have no business being in a tenant unit and a tenant doesn't stack empty boxes across front door 7 ft high. I shouldn't have to bring back customer units that should not have been sold in the first place.

Could someone tell me where is this in company policy and also renting units with trash in them is number one priority and when they don't pay just stage them units so we can get the most out of them. Honesty and integrity is fair. It could be an honest mistake but honesty went out the window when we couldn't reason. It's amazing when they're trying to get those customer units back that the district manager would give a cell phone number to make sure the transaction is done properly. But when I'm wronged as a customer it doesn't matter.

My unit was broken into in Jan 2023 because they didn't fix the front locks for months. Then my unit was broken into again in March 2023. This is outrageous. I cannot believe how bad this company is. They should figure out how to have some security. Cameras would be a good first step, but they need a complete overhaul.

CubeSmart: 501 Callowhill, Philadelphia PA: DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. We rented a 10x10 unit in March '22 in a temporature-controlled gated area. We usually come once or twice a month to bring new items or retrieve other items. Yesterday when we arrived, the motorized loading gate was broken and was wide open, though I did not see any car backed in and using it (wonder how long that had been broken and open). Also, we noticed that one of the doors that should close automatically behind a guest doesn't quite catch and is often left ajar if you don't manually close it (wonder how long that had been not operating properly).

So, On Sunday 2/25 when we got into our area, we noticed a pair of our slippers sitting outside of the garage gate to our unit. The lock appeared to still be on the garage door; howevever, when we touched it the entire locking apparatus fell to the floor. We lifted the gate and discovered that we had been robbed! Someone had entered the secure location, climbed on top of the storage units, looked down through the chicken wire (I guess they liked what they saw in ours), cut through the wire on the top, looked through all of our things and ransacked our possessions, unscrewed the locking apparatus from inside the unit, exited through the garage door, jerry-rigged the lock to LOOK like it was intact and walked out with large, expensive and some irreplaceable items.

To add insult the injury, there was a single staff person on site (there is usually just one person and the only security is doors/gates that require a code). We immediately notified the staff person who was only able to take pictures and give us a brochure to call for insurance. There was no offer for a free temporary space to house our items until a secure location could be found...not even an offer for free boxes to box the items that had been removed from luggage (that was stolen) and strewn about. We filed a police report, and we will definitely file a claim...which won't cover all that we have lost like personal papers, priceless jewelry, etc. We will also notify the BBB and every outlet that we can find to help others from making the same mistake that we did by using this facility. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY.

Got a quote and tried to get more info from the company. They couldn't answer questions. Didn't answer calls at my local CubeSmart. Voice-mail was full and no reply. They needed me to buy a $20 lock when I had my own. Everything about my experience was overpriced and sucked **. Bankrupt soon hopefully.

I am currently a tenant at Cubesmart being evicted because I spoke out about the RACIAL DISCRIMINATION I'm dealing with at this location in West Hempstead NY. Since I've been here, I've been RACIALLY PROFILE, STALKED and HARRASSED. I spoke to the manager (JENNIFER) about me being RACIALLY PROFILE and asked to see footage from the cameras which I was denied several times. And that is because she (Jennifer) is down with the nonsense which is coming from one of the workers she manages at the job.

The other worker at the job which I do not have his name is the real culprit. The guy who works at Cubesmart has two tenants that are his friends. And what he does is, he watches me on camera every time I come to the storage, and then call the two other tenants to tell them where I'm at so they could stalk and harass me. I couldn't take it anymore and went inside the office to speak out about it and they called the police on me. And then told me I was evicted. So now I'm being evicted because I spoke up about the RACIAL DISCRIMINATION I'm dealing with at the location. Not one time did the manager (Jennifer) asked me what was the problem. Jennifer handed me a eviction letter a few days ago without any explanation of why I'm being evicted. By the way, Jennifer is **, her coworker (who's name I do not have at the moment) is **, and I am **.

I’ve been a paying customer for almost one year. In that time, I have twice due to circumstances fallen behind in timely payment due to circumstances beyond my control. Twice I attempted to proactively bring this to the company attention before the bills were due. Twice the company has responded with a standard lockstep march towards me losing my things to seizure and auction. There is a toxic attitude in the industry, and this company epitomizes that- the attitude that anyone using their services is a marginal person, dislocated because they are lesser-thans. Dealing with these people is like dealing with some petty tyrant in the parole office or the traffic courts. Do yourself a favor, find some better service provider.

I had a unit at the CubeSmart located on Murfreesboro Pk. And I paid for the insurance they provided. And was assured that the insurance covered all of my valuable tools and artifacts. April of 2020 there was a flooding event that took place in Nashville. That flooded my unit. I lost over $6,000 in tools and relics was priceless. They proceeded to tell me that the insurance didn't cover flooding. But they sold it to me in a known flood zone. It's been 2 years still no compensation. I would never recommend cube smart. They are crooked and I believe they are intentionally selling insurance that does not cover certain things. Even though they assured me that it covered everything. I Strongly advise against anyone renting or doing business with cubesmart. They are dishonest and unprofessional.

My rent was raised as others had stated. I went to my storage unit yesterday to grab some Christmas items and the area was covered in mouse poop. I have never experienced such filth!! I went into the office to speak with the employee who stated that the incident was covered under insurance. After driving to another cubesmart I learned that the employee's name is Dora and she is an assistant manager. When I walked in she was flirting with a gentleman and told me that it would be some time before she could help me!!! That was why I went to another CubeSmart!!!! The rodent infestation was not covered by insurance!!!

Port Union Rd, Fairfield Ohio. I rented this unit 8 months ago. The area advertised a secure perimeter. Something damaged the security gate 3 months ago and it has not been replaced yet and the front gate is open 24 hours a day. When I went to find out what was going on, the office manager said if I didn't like it, move out. I have been paying for a secure location and am not receiving the advertised service.

I had to store some furniture. I got sick and have not been able to move the furniture out of storage. I started out paying around $203.00 a month for one unit. CubeSmart raises their rental fees every six months. They charged me for insurance even though my insurance company sent them proof of my insurance. They went from $1.95 to $5.24 for convenience fee to pay online. I am now paying $283.56 a month. For what? Nothing has changed. There are no improvements. Why would they need to continue to increase the monthly rent?

Cubesmart is a rip-off… They will consistently raise your monthly price.. Your bill can raise up to $100 or more within a year. They base it off percentages.. It will not help to talk to a general manager or district manager. They live to cheat the customer. Stay away.. They pretend to be for you. But it’s all lies. They do not deserve one star.
