Getting GoodHire to run a background check has been straightforward and fairly easy. They've met our expectations and we've been getting what we wanted out of it. Their reps have been very pleasant and able to answer all my questions. It's been an outstanding experience and everything has been going well.

I like using GoodHire. They're very thorough and they don't cut corners. They require a lot of information and forms. Though it's a little frustrating at times because some of the state's requirements are ridiculous, GoodHire sticks to their guns. I started here at company at the end of April, and they're relatively new to using GoodHire. They were switched around through a couple of companies, then they found GoodHire and were happy with them.
As long as we have all the info they need, getting them to run a check is very easy and we do it all online. I can download all the forms I need from them, then get our candidates fo fill up the forms and I can upload those. They are very helpful, pleasant, polite, and easy to work with. At the end, they want to know if they've helped and most of the time they have. Unless, there are laws of the state that they're not familiar with. I can't expect them to know all the laws of the state. I'm a payroll person and this is very new experience for me, but I've had no difficulty taking it up. Everything is very positive and I would highly recommend them.

With GoodHire, we get the background checks the same day, which is a good thing since we usually need to send profiles to hospitals as soon as possible. We cannot wait 10 days for a background check. Also, if I need a background check from them and something is not completed, I call them and they put a speed on it and then the next couple of hours, it's done. Their customer service is always willing to help and I've always had pleasant interactions with them.

GoodHire has been great and our company is really happy with them. It's user-friendly, all the data we need to input is clearly identified on the website. It doesn't tax the employer as much as it can and we get the results quickly. Plus, it's value for money. As far as what the company wants and needs, GoodHire delivers. They meet or even exceed expectations. We were able to hire some of the best talents out there for the work and it's been delightful.

GoodHire is the service we use to handle background checks. I have used another company but GoodHire was better in terms of the ease on the website and the customer service. It’s super easy with their online system to run a background check. GoodHire sends a potential employee or whoever we check on an e-mail in behalf of us asking to give consent to do the background check. GoodHire is accessible if I have a question also. I've had two interactions with their customer service and at both times, they were awesome and friendly. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. I called them this morning ‘cause I had a question and the guy was excellent and I would give him the double thumbs up. GoodHire is great and we’ll continue to use them.

I get a lot of vendor correspondence every day in my email. I was looking for a place where we could do remote drug testing because we don't have offices in every state but we hire in every state. GoodHire was a more efficient way to get remote drug testing accomplished and we're supposed to get express results. For the most part, they come back quickly. We've used other providers before and we still use a few but GoodHire is definitely better. If I have problems, which we did in the beginning due to the different packages that we wanted, they would respond to me right away and fix the issue. I would email my connection, call her and she would get right back to me. She was really good. With the other vendors, it's more time-consuming. However, the downside of the customer service would be the chat, which I don't find that useful. But overall my experience with GoodHire has been great. It's been fast and accurate with good customer service.

I've usually been the one who was running the background checks for the past couple of years now and using GoodHire is easy, fast, quick and affordable. I've only had to call customer service once when a background check was taking a little longer than usual. They were nice to let us know what was going on and when we should expect the background. We got it that day and it was a good experience.

We had to start doing background checks to comply with our statement to work. I tested four different companies on myself to see how accurate they were. I have to use Assurance for our large corporate clients, and it’s a nightmare and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. GoodHire seems to be fairly easy to use. And I haven’t had any negative feedback from our employees, so it seems fine. Everything kind of cost the same so with all things being equal, I went with the one that had the best user interface. A lot of the other sites either have really bad user experience or screen displays, and GoodHire is the only one out there that’s really meant to be mobile-friendly.

GoodHire seemed easy to use, and running a background check looked pretty straight forward. We had a few phone calls with the customer service team and they were forthcoming but when the job was a little more complicated, they didn’t disclose how that will be or give a timeline, so it was pretty frustrating. Overall, everything is fine so far, but it would be easier if they had multiple packages when you add on the individual reports. It’s pretty expensive, so we’re already in the process of looking to use somebody else.

I'm the President of a company and when I came here, they weren't using or doing anything to check people's backgrounds. So I went looking for something. I researched, called a few companies and looked at some reports and reviews. Then I ran one on GoodHire and I told myself it will get me what I need. I used another background check service provider before which was much more expensive and more thorough but that was because I was dealing with money and finance. I don't need that here since I just need to know that people are telling me the truth when they come in the door. For the $55 that I'm spending, GoodHire tells me enough about people to know if they’ve had some trouble in the past like a DWI. It gets me that information.
Using GoodHire is simple and easy. I’ve got the background information and consent form which is standardized and in a PDF format with our logo on it. I fill it out, go online and I've already got people's driver's license and everything I need. I punch it in and it's flawless. One time, somebody typed in 469 because our area code here is 469 and wrote their own social security number wrong twice. I punched it in there then I called GoodHire's customer service. I asked them to correct it instead of sending a new one, and they did it right on the spot. Another time, I called because I knew the person on their application had said they had an issue but it did not show up on the background check. GoodHire said it was because the issue was in South Carolina. So far, those are the only two incidents that I've had and both were addressed and explained perfectly. I'm very pleased with GoodHire. It does exactly what I need it to do and gets the information to me quickly.

I shopped around a little bit and GoodHire seemed to offer a reasonable price. However, I was kind of led to believe at the beginning that I would get a really quick turnaround time in order to get people into the field. When it actually turns out, it took several weeks longer than expected because GoodHire had to call and verify through phone calls. As far as getting approval and the information that we needed, it was out of their control. They did as good an effort as they could have. I also received an email from them saying that they couldn’t get the information requested in a timely fashion because the previous employer required a signed signature form.
With me supplying the information for who I needed to be vetted, they were able to instantly send out the email to those individuals to request permission. So that was pretty convenient. A lot of the people that we dealt with the vetting process needed an actual physical form. That was difficult, but they were proactive in trying to reach out to our potential workforce trying to get physical, written copies. So as far as it goes with the up and up with the services that they’ve given, they did thorough background checks and they gave me any kind of discrepancies with anybody. It was pretty good. Their website is pretty easy to navigate and their billing was reasonable as well. We still do business with them.

One of our old employees switched to GoodHire as a background check service provider shortly before he left and then I continued using it. It's pretty simple to use. All we really do is get the form signed off by the employee. The form details their information and then we enter the information into the website, upload their consent form. Once we get the report back, we provide the prospective new hire with a copy of their report. The system operates good and seamlessly. It usually doesn’t take any more than a day to get the report back so it’s a great process and it has worked out very well for us. We’ve had a better experience with GoodHire and we will continue to use it.

To use GoodHire for background checks, you have to purchase their packages based on credits. It's not a strict dollar amount so you have to figure that out although it was not difficult. You have to purchase credits and then use a certain amount of credits according to the level of background check that you want. But other than that, the website was easy to navigate and the results came back clear and easy to read. They provided me what I needed.
From the volume that I purchased, they gave me an extra credit, which I ran on myself as a self-test but I had two traffic violations that did not appear. I called customer service and the wait was very short. I talked to a real person and he was very helpful. He explained that I used the wrong credits for the wrong package so when he ran it again using the correct package, it came up. So overall, it was a good experience. Besides, I was doing a general background check rather than the MVR and on all of the other background checks, they all came back clear which was good but I also wanted to make sure that I’m not missing anything.

When one of our clients posed their requirement to us, we did an online search to find a supplier that we could get background checks done quickly and into the standards that we were required. We had certain things that needed to be provided but they weren't extravagant. They were pretty standard background check parameters. We had 10 people that we've had to run background checks for and GoodHire has been great. It's been easy, fast, pretty intuitive and streamlined.
The process of putting in a new person and then allowing them to put in all their information to process the background check has been pretty seamless. GoodHire has provided all of what we expected them to deliver and the turnaround time is within a couple of days. Our client has been happy with the results and we haven't had any issues with the reports or any of the parameters that they have available. GoodHire has been a good service to use. Our former HR Director had used GoodHire in her previous employment so she started using it here. It's very efficient and easy to use and it's very quick as well. We get results in either the same day or the next, so we don't have any issues with waiting. I really like that aspect of it. The systems operations are doing well as far as operations expectations are concerned, so we can get individuals started faster than if it was taking two weeks to get their background then. With GoodHire, I don't have to input that information in. The employees input all their information in so I don't have to double check anything.

Before using GoodHire we had a previous company and that one was better. The previous company's verification was more clear and they reach out to the candidate themselves. With GoodHire there's a discrepancy in the information and it's up to us to find out what the discrepancy is. And sometimes the candidate feedback said that they haven't heard from GoodHire. GoodHire haven't contacted them for the discrepancy until they send it to us and then we ask them.
But it's easier for us to run a background check. The process with GoodHire is that we need to email them and they would get right back to us. After that they would send us the information. But if they can give us access to cancel the background check ourselves or edit our request without sending them emails back and forth and they can get a notification, then that would be easier. GoodHire needs to work on certain things but other than that the company is okay. Customer service was very professional and helpful.

When I started with the company that I’ve been working at, they were already using GoodHire. It’s very easy to run a background check. I input the information, send it to the candidates and it pretty much goes from there. The only time I ever had to call them was to check for delays. There's a lot of systems that were still manual and not electronic, depending on the country where someone has lived previously, so it took extra time to pull the records physically. We also got to do a better job of managing when to archive and when to keep because we’re starting to build up a lot in there. But sometimes, the timeframe is a lot longer but I know it came down to the counties delivering the information. We then go through GoodHire's reports and tell them what checks we want them to run. It's also nice that they give you an option, as the employer, to question something if you see something on there that is questionable, and okay it if there nothing really concerning you. I was doing some online research regarding some of the better companies to use for very fast and accurate background check results and GoodHire came up. So I did a little bit more research and some reference checking and I liked what I found. I started using them and have been very happy and satisfied ever since. In the past, I used to send in a physical form to a candidate to complete for drugs screening because it was required by state and the background check company that we used to use. By the time I complete the paperwork for the employer and then the employee information, I'd go to the mailbox to physically mail the custodian chain form and it's just too much. But with GoodHire being completely electronic and automating every single aspect of the process, it saves me about 45 minutes which is amazing.
Compared to the other background check companies I've used, GoodHire is very different and customized to my needs. I love the customer service and they answered my questions. Also, the automated approach is what matters to me and the time-saving aspect of it. I can rely on them to do a background check within three to five business days, no matter what. And they give me an update on what's going on that is always bar none. Sometimes I have to leave a message for GoodHire for somebody to get back to me or one of my team members, and that happens very quickly with a good and accurate response. However, the personalization component is missing where you have a dedicated person you go to and you have an account manager that you establish a relationship with.
Otherwise, GoodHire has probably been the easiest process I've ever undergone through, and I've been in human resources for over 13 years now. I've really enjoyed the accuracy, the response rate, and the ability to view reports. I just did training on GoodHire for my team last week and my HR team absolutely loves GoodHire and is looking forward to working with them and recommending them to their network as well.

That definitely exceeded my expectations. Easy, affordable and I would definitely recommend them.
We did have one situation that was a little bit confusing. Amanda called because it had to do with a specific check that we were running, I believe. During that time, they had to ask her questions to confirm that indeed she was with the company. They told her that she could create her own log-in information, and she did, but what they didn’t tell her was that all of the credits that I put on there, she would no longer have access to. It took us a while to figure that out. So when she would log in, she didn’t have any credits on there and no way to do anything. Then she got a hold of me and I looked and of course, there were credits on there.
It wasn’t until another phone call to customer service that we were told that was incorrect. The way the customer service person explained it to her was that when they created her log-in they would link it to mine. I guess the assumption was there that it would be fully functional. So that’s been the only hiccup that we’ve had but other than that everything’s been great.

When I came to the company, they had been using GoodHire before. So, I just kept using them as well. Using GoodHire is easy. Everything is online and it’s really quick. Instructions are very detailed enough that I can follow through just fine. We always buy the same thing every time. So, if you used it a couple of times, you can go back online for another one and go zip, zip, zip and you’re done. It meets our expectations perfectly.
I had to call customer service recently because we had a pending drug screen result that had been out there for a few weeks. So, I called them to get the lowdown on why it’s still hadn’t come through as a final. They were able to determine the reason right away and correct it. They’re really good about email notifications and the other thing I like about them is they give an interim. You make your order and you know it’s going to take a little while before everything gets back. But in between the “Here’s your order.” confirmation email and the “Here’s your finished product.” email, they send updates. They say, “Hey, we’re just waiting on this.” They are fast and efficient.

GoodHire is the one we use for the background provider. Everyone there is really nice, friendly and knowledgeable. It's an easy process. We don't have the client log in on their phone to complete the information themselves, instead, we take it upon our self to complete the information. It's usually faster than 24 hours but the inconvenience is usually around the authorization form from the client in which background check is regarding and if it hadn't been reviewed, I'd call GoodHire and then the service rep will get that expedited and reviewed so that it gets completed as soon as possible. Their system is very user-friendly and they have quick turn time so overall, I'm very happy.

In the past, I expected to do a background check within four days but there's plenty of times where it's come up in 24 hours. The payment is on autopay. All I do is select the plan. We do a basic log in, enter the employee's or applicant's first and last name and then we enter their credit card number. We enter the email address after the credit card number is processed. Within 24 hours, they give us a report stating whether the person is clear or if they have a hitch. I felt a little weird because it wasn't the traditional way that we usually do background check. It was purely what's in front of me and it's like a boss. I did my own extensive internet research and GoodHire had really good reviews for a small company. It also seemed very simple to use and there weren't any hidden fees. So, I really like that and the candidate portal. When I call them there's always someone there ready to help. So, the front end was good but not so much when I have an inquiry that I needed them to look into. That piece was not the greatest. The time that it took for them to get back was a little bit longer.
I had an experience where a background check just came in. There weren't any notes about an appointment verification piece and it's something that should have been flagged or it should have alerted me to see what was going on there. So there was inconsistency in terms of what was noted and reported. GoodHire should have added notes as to why there was no end date provided. They marked it as clear when it wasn't clear. The candidate see the same thing that I see. So if I haven't paid attention they will get it back and everything was clear. They're not going to look into and see what's going on. But if I'm going to take some extreme measures or not considering the person for employment which is what we're looking at, that needs to be noted somewhere by GoodHire.
So, when I called to follow-up, none of the reps could help me because it got passed on to different reps. I had to speak to four reps in order to get it escalated. It just took a lot of my time. I didn't like that because the person on the line should have looked into it and taken the initiative to take it one step further. We're relying on them to give me this data and the information provided was questionable. So now, I'm not 100% confident in what they're providing me. But, I'm satisfied. It just happened to be this one thing is very important.
We apologize for both the delay and the confusing results. Upon closer investigation, we found two errors - one with how the candidate's prior employer reported the candidate's employment status originally, and the second with how our data provider reported that information back to us. We also clearly hear your frustration with the level of support you received from our team and would like to reaffirm our deep commitment to supporting our customers. As such, we are adding credit into your account so that your next candidate reference check is free. We will also discuss this case specifically, during our monthly audit with our data provider, to find new ways to ensure this type situation doesn't happen again. We previously worked with a company where fax that we submit comes back in two minutes. I reached out to two companies and GoodHire was really thorough. The rep was really great and she got back to me fairly quickly, which was the big one for me. The experience was easy and all my questions were answered, so it was great.

GoodHire was referred to me by Cynet RPO, another vendor we use. It's easy to use, straightforward, and it's very hands off, so I don't have to do anything. Once I sent the email to the new hire, they enter all their information and the background check is run. The instructions are also detailed enough to get through the background check myself. They've made it pretty easy to run the needed background check. Also, their customer service has always been very good and prompt in responding. Whenever I have an issue, they always have somebody to respond and let me know what's going on. It's been a good experience but one of the things that I'm looking for is fingerprint check. The only people I send to them are people we like, just to confirm that these people were really nice and wonderful. GoodHire seems to have their act together, with their little reminders that this person didn't get us the approval yet or he still has something in-transit. I talked to GoodHire's customer service recently, and explained that we are an agency that works with egg and gestational carriers. We run background checks on a gestational carrier because they're essentially like our employees. And so, customer service had to get us to change the wording of our forms because it needed to say that they were considering them for an employment. The rep basically just said what wording to use going forward, and then that shouldn't be an issue.
We usually complete the form on behalf of the potential employees, give it to them, and then tell them to check everything over and make sure everything is accurate. They gave us the information, but I want to make sure I took it down right before they sign it, and then we just go on running. It's a perfect and easy process. It's usually quick to get the result back, but there was one instance we had recently that they got a little hung up, but it was nobody's fault. It was the county's. It was weird because we were running through people at the same time that lived in the same county, and with the one person, the result came back right away and the other one said there was going to be a four-day delay. And after seven days, we called GoodHire, and when they called the county, they got to push through with the full final report right away.

We have one right now that's been going on for over a week and we still haven't gotten it back yet. I've contacted customer service to know when we would get it. It keeps getting delayed and we still haven't got the response yet. That's the only concern I have when we do a background check. I know it's hard for them to get the records, but we need to know right away because we need to fill the position. I own a nanny agency so I was looking for a company that could help for nanny background check. GoodHire was rated high with reasonable prices so I decided to go for it and they've been great. Running a background check is seamless. I do everything online and my candidates go online and fill everything out. However, they only run one last name with females. If I have candidates that are married or divorced, I have to do separate background checks for each name, which can get costly. It would be awesome if we could add in an extra name but not for the full price of another check but an upgrade. I only primarily run females and a lot of them have multiple last names.
Other than that, they have awesome customer service and they have been responsive via chat and on the phone. When I chat with them, it's them and not an outsourced company. And then I call them and the person that I was chatting with will answer the phone. It's always the same people so I like that about them. We used to have an HR Manager who used GoodHire at a previous employer and was super impressed with it. The process has now been transitioned to me and this is something new that we've implemented in the company. Because of our size, we're looking for those key individuals who could help progress the company and GoodHire has been a good tool to use. It's been effective, fast, and accurate. If we receive negative reports for any individual, it's been really clear on the next steps to use. We took advantage of their discount and prepaid for a bunch of reports that we would be filing, so we've put $1,000 towards it and every report that we run, about $55. We just enter the individual's first name, last name, email address, and it's done. It's super easy from an administrative standpoint.
From there, they send an email out to the individual who then types in their social and then the report runs. We can also modify the system to have the report look deeper into that individual, but we only need to scratch the surface to find out if there's any misdemeanors or felonies that are present in the future employee's file so we can make an appropriate decision. We had one experience where we got a negative report saying this person had a few misdemeanors and felonies and we didn't know how to proceed. I looked into GoodHire for some support and they provided everything. It was great. The GoodHire team has been fantastic. My experience with GoodHire has been good, easy and accurate, and their customer service is outstanding. When I started with the company, my boss was already using GoodHire. It’s very easy to use it to run a background check. I log in, I'm able to set up whatever credit card I want to use for a payment. It has three main kinds of buckets on what type of background check one wants to do. We usually do the more expensive one, which has a more intense detail. When we click on it, it asks for the person’s full name. In their email address, it’ll say, “Will they be filling it out or will the company?” Then I click on "I want the potential employee to fill it out." Then I CC myself on it because there is an option for it. We can also change the email to a generic one that says, “Please fill this out.”
We could customize it, which I like if needed. It keeps me updated, it tells me when it’s been sent out, and it tells me when they started filling it out. It’ll email me when there are exceptions and the reason why, and if the dates, names, school or employer didn’t match. If I wanted to check on two employers, I could just add additional items for an additional fee. So, it's like ala carte after a person runs it, which is nice.
The customer service people at GoodHire are very friendly and they quickly resolve things on the phone. When I’ve called them, their customer service is really good. In fact, recently I had somebody aware of their employment verification, and we were having issues and the GoodHire rep said, “I’m gonna look into it and I’ll call you back.” She called me back within an hour, which I definitely appreciate. But when I knew that my co-worker who has been here three years was leaving, I talked with the gentleman from GoodHire and asked him if I could put my name in and email address as login details and he took all my information and we set everything up.

It was fine but he could have said that when we put a new name on there we'll be getting charged full price. My boss is in real estate and he's building up a firm in Houston-Dallas so he's bringing on a lot of employees. I'm a part of the onboarding process for him so I was told to use GoodHire as soon as I came on-board. It's very, very easy to use and very simple but for some reasons I didn't know that I can add the credit check with the very first purchase. I was getting the background check and then I was having to go back and add the 14 99 credit check separately. Later, I looked and saw off to the left bottom that I can add things but it wasn't jumping out at me so it took me 3-4 of them before I realize I can do all at the same time.
Another thing I ran into was when I was doing checks over the 2-week holiday, credit checks were getting held up so I called and found out it was because a lot of the colleges and high schools are closed for that two week period. We were only really interested in backgrounds, credit concern and criminal. We added the school background just to get it but it wasn't a deal. I realized we didn't need that information so bad or it didn't make much of a difference for us so I was wondering if there was a way we can say what's the least important. There must be a way that wouldn't be a deal breaker such that if there's anything in the report that causes us to have to stop the process, or if something is holding up the background check that happens to be something the company is not really looking at very detailed then, or if that takes more than five days to find the information, then I'll move on and do the next stuff.
Moreover, my boss was targeting to do about 100 hires and I found out when we got to about the 10th that we could buy a package. There must be a way to make that be very apparent as soon as someone is starting with their first background check. There could be a pop-up box that says in case someone is planning to do more than 20 or 10 or 5 a month, then there are packages. We couldn't go retroactively back and get credits for the 10 that we had already done. We know it's our fault but I stumbled on that as I went along as opposed to being made aware of it immediately. My boss might have already got a package from them. But anyway, I pushed him and said that since he's gonna do 80 more hires then he needs to buy a package and it doesn't make any sense not to.
Finally, besides easy to understand user interface, GoodHire also has great customer service. Someone in customer service knew exactly what I was talking about and I never spent more than five minutes with them. They had the issues resolved and had the answers for me very quickly. So, if I ever get into the position of hiring in my new company, I'll definitely suggest we use GoodHire.

As a recruiter, the process of running a background check with GoodHire is really easy because all I have to do is provide contact information details and it automatically reaches out to the person that we're having verified and they fill in all the details. This part is a little bit of a hit or a miss because sometimes, if the dates are wrong, even by a day, it automatically shows up as a red flag on the verification. So, the challenge is to make sure that the recruited people fill in the actual dates because if they need to rerun the entire verification process, I have to do the whole thing again and pay for it.
I wish they had an alternate for this part as I've had this issue with at least three people. If they had some parts that's been reached, make sure that the person that was getting verified actually had to look into their pay stubs. I'm sure that the person would look at the date and not make that mistake. But other than that, I think they are great. If I reach out and have a problem, I want a solution or at least, some one-time information on what's happening and they are very good with that. They are very quick to solve problems and return my phone calls. They're on top of things and it's been a positive experience with them.

Glad to hear that the process has been easy for you. Of course we’re disappointed that you weren’t satisfied with our pricing or turnaround times. In an effort to respond to your review, we’ve looked into your account and see that your most recent purchase did, in fact, take longer than normal. I sent GoodHire our business certificate because we needed verification before we can start a background check, and they replied really quickly. Their customer service is really good. GoodHire is really convenient to use. I just upload the employees' information, then they send the employees an email for verification. After that, we can get the background check in nearly one week, and that's really quick for us. The result is really good, and that's why I chose their company. However, when I do the background check sometimes, and our employee resides in different states, they require me to pay more if I want to explore information in other states besides New York. I didn't choose that and I think they can improve on that. But other than that, GoodHire is really efficient and not too expensive.

I did an online research on different evaluations of different services, and GoodHire hit both the depth of background checks I needed and had a good pricing model, which is important since we have a small business. In fact, I had high expectations based on what I read and they met them. GoodHire's website is really easy to use. In addition, I telephoned the customer service team about what was included in their pricing and what wasn’t. Also, I didn’t have an understanding of how they went about doing their county background checks, and they were able to answer my questions fully. Part of their process, which is all automatic through their website is that they keep me informed of the progress of each individual background check along the way. So I know that they’re doing stuff, and I know what the delays are if there are any.

My husband told me about GoodHire which he uses and I took his word for it. I was very pleased with the customer service. I had a lot of questions at first while trying to set up things, and there was a technical glitch going on. My log in was logging into someone else’s account, but they fixed it and it wasn’t a long wait. I talked to a person and I really like it when I can talk to a person. The lady who I was working with helped me work out the glitches and told me about a service that I didn’t know about. It saved me a lot of money. I appreciated her letting me know about things that I could get discounts on instead of charging me full price because I was ignorant to those things. My experience utilizing GoodHire to run a background check was fast and thorough.

I did some searches looking for an easy way to do a thorough background check and saw advertising online for GoodHire. I had used 2 other providers before but didn't like either one of them because I felt I was getting spammed a lot from them and I that I was being sold on something. With GoodHire, I really appreciate that they haven't sent me a ton of marketing so far as I’m quite busy. I feel that their reputation has been positiv, relative to some of the other ones.
Utilizing GoodHire to run background checks has been easy-peasy because I submit the order online. However, it’s a little pricey since it’s $100 for each hire for just the basic so I can't have even more thorough background checks within my budget. But they are certainly good to have for some baseline peace of mind. Our company educates children and I want to have a good sense of security knowing that my teachers who I’m putting in front of them don’t have a criminal background. I’m gonna be placing some more orders soon because I have a number of new hires who are coming through. It’s nice that I’m not thinking about it too much and it’s something I have readily brought into my hiring process without it being intrusive. Other than the pricing, as long as they keep up the same way they’ve been going, not spamming me or having any major marketing emails and phone calls and the like, then I’m not planning on changing right now.

GoodHire was recommended to me by a co-worker. When I first contacted them to inquire about using their services, I was given very prompt service and I appreciated that. The interface on the website was really easy for me to use. It's also straightforward and user-friendly. And I liked how I could use the automatic send feature that I can just put in the employee's information and then trust that GoodHire would contact them and get the information that I needed.

We found GoodHire online, and find it far superior than our previous background check service provider. It comes back with hits and it's been accurate, and we appreciate that. It's very easy to use. In our application form, the applicant has to sign off on us doing a background check on them, and the security of them sending the email out to the future employee, making them certify that they can do a background check on them is a way of doing it that makes myself, as the employer, feel a lot more secure. It works pretty flawlessly, and I've never had an issue. I really appreciate it.

GoodHire advertises that Stanford has used them in the past so I figured they were pretty reputable and they were right across the street from our clinic. They do a good job.

I've already run three background checks through GoodHire and it's fine so far. But some of the people I'm dealing with are not in the good habit of using Cloud-based platforms. They certainly can't scan a document and upload it again so that's a stopping point for me. It's a legal document so I have to have a physical signature on the form. I don't know if we're ever gonna get to a point where there's an electronic signature with a log-in because if these two things would come together then that equals the person's unique identity and I can go ahead and run it based on that.
Also, as a hiring-based platform, there are certain jobs where we have to follow DOT laws. There's a lot of questions I have to ask but are nowhere in an application. In fact, there's really no application on GoodHire and it's only a name and an email address. It would be nice if there were some templates I could automatically employ to say how far I wanna dig initially. I get that we're able to customize it, but I have different questions for every job description. It would be nice that I wouldn't have to build every one of them as I go. For example, if I have drivers then this is what DOT requires. Because for drivers, I have to ask them every employer for the last 10 years, if they failed any drug test, and many more. Then for everyone else, I might ask only two or three questions.
If I'm hiring for sales, managers, or executives, they upload their resumes and they know what I'm looking for and what to put on there. But in my experience, the average entry-level worker don't have those things. Our laborers and entry-level positions are being left out and some information I would typically ask them are being left out. There's even nothing I can click to say give me three years of work history or the basic stuff. Still, I've only been using GoodHire for a few months and I may start learning some tricks of the trade. I know that I can copy one job and then change some things in it so that will be helpful moving forward whenever I get to fill some of the other entry-level positions as they come up and it will help me not have to reformulate questions.

We worked with PeopleSmart and it was not working for some of our requirements. When I called PeopleSmart and explained what I was trying to do, background check-wise, for our compliance issues, they said I was with the wrong company and GoodHire is the company to go with. So I said, "Okay," and we got GoodHire. We only hire a couple of people a year so we do a la carte as needed. I go online and enter the information that I have of the person after they accept the offer, pending the background check, and then they go online and fill out whatever. Everything is usually completed within 24 hours although occasionally it could take 72 hours when there are some additional things that go on. GoodHire is a very convenient feature and it works for us. We’re a very small company and it does what it needs to do for us. I’d recommend them if somebody asks me.

GoodHire is fast, easy, and reliable. A member of my team read a bunch of reviews about them and we decided to test them out. I tested them along with another system with running checks on myself. The GoodHire background check process gives you a step-by-step of how things are going to go. I first read about the different reports and determined which report was going to meet my needs. We did a basic background check and sex offender check and then added in motor vehicle records check.
We’re able to put the candidates’ information in and it would email the candidate and ask for the specific details of their social security number, address, driver’s license, all of that. I didn’t have to come in contact with that information. We have it in our HR department. After I initiated the report and the candidate consented and filled in their information, GoodHire took over, ran the report and sent me progress emails along the way.
In one case I had an individual that I needed to dig in a little bit further and that only took a day or two when I requested additional information through GoodHire. So they did all the dirty work and the heavy lifting and it just made it really easy for me to be transparent with my staff and also to get it done quickly. Another thing is, once a report comes back, you have the option of sharing the report with the candidate. That was really a nice feature so that we can have that transparency with our team of, “Hey, here’s what we ran. Here’s what came back just so you know. And everything’s good to go.” So they know what’s on their record and we do as well.
There was one little hiccup. When I was setting up our company in GoodHire and it was not clear where I should indicate if we were going to do credit checks or not. It was getting held up because we had to have an on-site credit investigation, just to make sure that we were able to safely secure credit information. And that was not something we needed to do. So it got stuck for a little bit and I called twice. But the staff was very helpful at GoodHire and they were able to resolve the issue quickly and refunded our money. It was a little awkward because I was thinking things were going and it was stuck in the one spot.

We chose GoodHire because I thought the interface was better. It was a bit more cohesive for what we were looking for and very easy to use. Every bit of information we needed was available to us. At first, we were working out some speed bumps where we did not have the right authorization form. So, we had GoodHire send it directly to the employee or the potential hire as well. Their process is easy, efficient, and reliable.

GoodHire seemed to have the lowest entry point in terms of ease of use and understanding. They explained their offerings very well and it was very easy from a self-service standpoint to use their offerings. They've been very responsive and met their time frames. The reports looked complete and to this point, I have not found any missing information or mistakes in what has been provided.
Apart from the initial sale cycle to understand the process, how to request service, and what I needed to request to meet my requirements, and after getting those questions answered, I have not needed to call their Customer Service, so it's really been a self-service process. I would recommend them but it would depend on the organization that's needing the service. I would recommend them to a smaller organization that doesn't have a huge HR staff. But with a larger organization, they may be more difficult to use because they're very focused on self-service and a larger organization may need other things.

GoodHire is very easy to use. Their reports are pretty clear and easy to read. I had one incident where it stopped in the middle of the report and tried to cancel it. When I went back in, it was not showing that the report had been started so I started it again. I finished the second one, and both of them were showing up. So I called customer service and they were able to remove it. It was pretty seamless. We're pretty happy with GoodHire.
