All of Personal Living Alert’s medical alert devices have push-button or fall detection technology that connects you with a live response agent 24/7. The agent will ask you questions to help assess the situation and decide whether to contact a loved one or dispatch emergency services. If you can’t respond, the dispatcher will immediately call for emergency help.

Its agents work out of a US-based Five Diamond Central Station and are  UL-listed and CSAA-certified, meaning they’re trained to handle many types of emergencies. The company says it also staffs agents that speak over 50 languages, including both English and Spanish.

Compared with other companies on the market, Personal Living Alert sells a pretty wide range of medical alert systems. Its four main medical alert products include a smartwatch, two wearable pendants and an in-home medical alert system package. But it also sells accessories like anti-wandering alert devices, smart outlets, bed and chair exit alarms, medication dispensers and more.

Depending on your preferred payment method, Personal Living charges a monthly, quarterly or annual fee for most of its products. If you sign up for a monthly plan, you’ll have to pay the first three months in advance. Annual plans can save you up to a month of free service.

While the company doesn’t charge activation or equipment fees, it does charge a shipping fee on many products. For example, it costs $22 to ship the Belle+ LTE system. If you want warranty protection, you’ll have to pay extra for that too ($6 per month or $72 per year for each device).
