Agent was clear and concise. She was friendly and took time to explain exactly what I was purchasing. I would recommend to a friend. The rate was better than the competition. I only needed coverage in the event of a death of my mother who is elderly. A friend bought my ticket and I didn't want her to get stuck with a hefty bill for services not used and non-refundable.

One hour before leaving for the airport I realized that we had not purchased travel insurance for a trip to Cancun. Within 15 minutes I had a policy in hand. Suitcase ready. The website was easy to navigate and the choices were clear. We are safe at home now having had no travel incidents, but also vacationed with a peace of mind.

I found your website clear and easy to navigate. I did what was needed and left site with no issues. The instructions were clear, and the document copies were in my e-mail quickly. I cannot see a better way to purchase coverage. I hope that I do not need to make use of the policy!

I do not have an order number because one of your operators failed to tell me the policy did not go through after I gave her my credit card number. I had to quickly grab another policy online the night before.

I did contact our Customer Solutions Department, on your behalf, to review the call, as we strive to provide exemplary customer service. While they did provide you with the confirmation number, we did also confirm that there was a bad connection during this call.
In our system, we do have two duplicate policies for you. The first policy was purchased on July 21, 2017, with our Customer Solutions Representative, and the second policy on July 23, 2017, which was purchased online. The Confirmation of Coverage and the Description of Coverage were both emailed to you at the time of each purchase, along with the confirmation numbers.
One of our Customer Solutions Representatives cancelled the second policy on Thursday August 10, 2017. We refunded the travel protection plan premium back to the Mastercard ending in 5805. You should receive the refund within the next 5 to 10 business days, depending on your banking institution.

My son was flying overseas to the U.K. for soccer and at the last minute the organization he was traveling with informed us they would not be purchasing travel insurance for the full team. In a matter of minutes I was able to obtain travel insurance for my son online. I was very happy to find an easy online solution which saved me time as I prepared for his trip.

I trust Travelex. They paid a claim when I was sick traveling in Europe. This trip I emailed ahead for customer service and they were very prompt in their response. I wouldn't use any other insurance company when I travel.

I have used Travelex Insurance Services for over 10 years and never had a claim. I feel very secure in the coverage I have purchased over the years. The online site is very easy to use and clear on the coverage. I have recommended them to several of my friends and plan on using them in the future.

I have purchased travel insurance from Travelex many times. The website is easy to navigate. The products are well described and choosing is easy. Prices are visible when ordering. I always have a paper copy of the policy sent as well as printing out the computer confirmation. All in all, a good experience with a superior product.

I have placed insurance with Travelex for over 20 years. On the few occasions where I had to make a claim, I received a prompt and positive response. I have recommended them to many friends. The basic package includes all the coverage that the ordinary traveler needs.

The Travelex website is easy to use. The cost for the benefits compares well with other insurance companies. I have used Travelex on most of my overseas trips. On one trip my co-traveler had to cancel because of a cancer diagnosis. Travelex did pay for the canceled trip.

Although I believed I had purchased coverage, and a pending charge appeared on my credit card, and remains there, I never have received any confirmation of this from them in over week. So I have no way of knowing if I am covered or not.

Because the conference I was planning on attending cancelled, I contacted Travelex about getting a refund on the travel insurance. The agent had to check with his supervisor and then came back to me and told me that my request for a refund had been approved. I was pleased.

Great price for travel insurance. Other travel insurers either cost too much or did cover 100% of the trip cost under a basic plan - had to buy up to the next level plan. Signing up was fast and easy. All of the documents were easy to understand and the insurance covers 100% of the cost of my trip should I need to use the insurance.

Airplane Flight Insurance Policy - On 6 July 2017 I attempted to purchase a policy and received a prompt that my charge card information had not been able to be processed. I believed this was merely a temporary glitch and decided to make another attempt at a later time. However, I subsequently discovered through my credit card company that payment had indeed been made. At this point I have received no documentation from Travelex of the policy or the policy number. Any information Travelex might provide me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

From initial call to the follow-up for quote, it all worked well for my situation. I was able to sign up for my insurance. Then the quote given for another person was followed up and purchased as well. It all was very easy. Need to follow-up to make a slight correction to my address listed. We have yet to receive the paperwork which I asked to be sent since I do not have access to a printer all of the time. I am saddened by how much the insurance costs. This is the third time, I believe, that we have used the insurance. Every time the cost seems to increase, as if we are paying for another day's vacation. I am grateful for the insurance, but always have to recalculate the finances for now almost $500 more.

Travelex mailed your Confirmation of Coverage and Description of Coverage to the address provided at the time of purchase on June 30, 2017 and it was mailed the following business day on July 3, 2017 via the United States Postal Service, please note this can take up to 5 – 10 business days.
The price of our policies is based on Age, Trip Cost, Length of Stay, and the Optional Upgrades chosen, at the time of purchase. Should any of these factors change it would also affect the price.
In addition, when you purchased the policy in 2014, the travelers were in a lower age bracket and there was a lower trip cost insured, this caused the policy to be lower in price then the one you purchased most recently.

This is the second time I have used Travelex. Great customer service. Fortunately the last time and hopefully this next time I had no claims so the real test of the insurance is unknown. I compared price and benefits and this is a MUCH greater value than cruise line insurance.

The overall website experience is very good. However, I purchase travel insurance a few times a year… Every time I need to buy a plan, I must re-enter the info - and this is for 3-6 family members. It would significantly simplify things and make more user-friendly if there was a way to create an account, login, save family into user profile. All I would need to do is to login, pick family traveling with me and enter only the data specific to a trip. The DOBs of participants could be stored and rates calculated automatically. Preferred plans could also be stored along with previous history of purchases, claims etc. Even filing a claim would be easier from within user account.

I was quoted a policy price of 78.00 on Friday. When I tried to call back you were closed so I had to buy a policy to start the next day for 104.00. I could not access the one that I was quoted and no one was there to help me. I didn't use the policy, but it made me upset that I had to pay for elements I didn't want and could not get the quoted price of 78.00. The agent didn't mention that I would not be able to reach someone later that day, so I assumed you were open until at least 9:00. Unfortunately, I had to overpay, so for that I was not prepared.

Our three main protection plans, the Travel Basic, Travel Select, and Travel Max, all offer coverage with the ability to insure or not insure your trip cost for trip cancellation coverage, which will increase or decrease the cost of the plans.
When you called our Customer Solutions Department (CS) at 3:08pm you advised you would call right back with the credit card information. We apologize for not providing our Customer Solutions Department’s hours of operation (8:00am-7:00pm CST, Mon-Fri).
The CS Representative quoted you $76.00 for the Travel Select plan, with no ($0) trip cost.When you purchased online, you purchased the Travel Basic plan with $850 per person trip cost (includes trip cancellation coverage), which increases the cost of the protection plan.
In order to get the policy without trip cancellation (no trip cost), you would either enter a trip cost of zero ($0) or choose the option “No Trip Cancellation.”
I hope this clarifies the cost of the Travelex protection plans. Please feel free to contact our Customer Solutions Department at 1-800-228-9792 if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Purchased by phone... no problem. But, they did not send me an email confirmation about this purchase. I wanted, and expected, an email confirmation. I used the phone because I had trouble with the online site. I couldn't find the "flight only" insurance we've always bought. Found the online site too complicated. It was too specialized. There should be a section for people who want the basic, no frills, flight insurance only coverage.

I've used Travelex for many of my travels. I feel that what they cover is well worth the premium. I have had to file a claim once. After submitting all the required paperwork I was denied the claim. Travelex told me the reason for the denial. I sent them the corrected information and to my satisfaction I received a check for the amount I claimed. The representatives that I spoke to were very helpful and told me what I needed in order to re-submit my claim. I am now going on another trip and of course using Travelex.

We have used Travel Select since 2009 for our long trips outside the US. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. But most important Travelex is there when you need it! The coverage regarding preexisting conditions is excellent. We do recommend Travelex.

I went S. Africa on June 14, then June 18, went to Victoria Falls, while there I didn't see a step down and fell... My right foot went straight down, with big toe taking the full force/weight... I fell forward, nothing to hold onto. Went to clinic, had X-rays, being Diabetic, got scared my toe nail would fall off and other injuries. Diagnosis: damaged soft tissue. I was told I had to pay cash then put Claim in to you all. Went Tue to follow up, nurse just re-bandaged my foot. Going for 2nd opinion here in TX. Your rep (Forgot her name), was very pleasant and is mailing me the forms.

Insurance is something that you pay and pray not to use. This was the fourth or fifth time I purchased travel insurance from Travelex and did not use it, thanks God. So, I can't say a lot about how the company handle the claims but it was easy to purchase and once I need the customer service to fix an error made in the application and it was a pleasant experience. One minor thing is that the max value is a little less than I would get purchasing the ticket using my AA Mastercard (1.5 million instead of Travelex's 1M max) but I wanted to use a foreign credit card to buy the ticket otherwise I would have opted to use the card due to this limitation. Hope Travelex revise this max to 1.5 or even 2M in the near future. I'm giving 5 stars even not having used it due to the easy purchasing procedure and the service I got from customer service when I needed it.

The website was very clear, and the customer service representative I spoke with on the phone was very helpful. I did not need to make a claim, but the enrollment process was easy and I received my order confirmation almost immediately. My only issue is that plans don't cover the theft of property from an automobile, and travelers who take road trips often have no choice but to leave their belongings in their vehicles at times.

Easy to complete application and get a quote online. You just have to figure your expected costs including airfare, hotel, car rental, train fares, and any tours that you may book. Once you figure your expected costs, you are seconds away from getting an accurate quote. From the quote, you are directed to the order site to complete your purchase.

My complaint is that the transaction was finalized without any indication that the purchase had gone through successfully. I wasn't given a policy number and there was no follow up email giving me one. I had to contact you to get it. Why not give your customers an email confirmation even when the choice is to have policy mailed??

Got a letter asking for incident report from airline... Airline wont get in middle of insurance claim. Just a way for insurance company to get away from paying for a valid claim. We filed to receive reimbursement for additional travel expenses incurred. We purchased insurance for situations like this: that are outside our control and cause additional expenses to be incurred and felt our request to clearly be within the spirit of the policy. The amount requested was also nominal considering the cost of the policy. Will switch to a different travel insurance company for future trips. This insurance is worthless.

When I originally priced the insurance, I was told if I quoted the price of my ticket, it would reduce the cost of the insurance. The quote that was given was $35.00 for the plan I eventually purchased but my purchase price was $65.00. The system would not let me put a $0 cost of the trip.

I have purchased many Travelex policies of the years and have fortunately never had to actually use one. Hope your claims service is as good as your purchasing service. I chose this company for travel insurance because of the great ratings that they receive. It was easy to navigate their website to see what my options were and to find answers to any questions. Selection and price were perfect and ordering could not have been easier. My documents came in the mail soon after. I have not taken my trip yet and of course hope to not need my insurance, but I feel more confident now that I have this insurance.

The person I spoke with was knowledgeable and courteous, the same as previous trips. However, I have not yet received the document in the mail as requested as I do not have a printer. Note I am scheduled to leave 12 May. It may be the US Mail as I have not yet received my updated passport!

In looking at your purchase on April 27, 2017 at 3:16pm, the original request was to send your Confirmation of Coverage and Description of Coverage (COC/DOC) via email.
I see that you called our Customer Solutions Representative on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 12:48pm and asked for the COC/DOC to be mailed to you. Keep in mind the U.S. Postal service can take approximately 3-7 days to have mail delivered. Hopefully by now you have also received your COC/DOC documents in the mail.

Travelex initially denied my travel claim because it was not covered within the policy. I thought it should have been covered because the reason for the claim was so similar to other reasons that are covered by the policy. After noting my original Consumer Affairs review, Travelex got in touch and resolved my claim to my satisfaction. The only reason I did not rate them higher is that it took 9 months to get to a satisfactory resolution.

We are planning a trip to Ireland and one of the most important aspects of planning is to ensure that you have proper and adequate travel insurance. In the course of searching out the best plan I found that Travelex received accolades from many sources. As a result, it was my first choice! Equally important when completing a transaction one wants to receive honest and beneficial comments from the company representative. Her recommendation of the plan we ended up purchasing was based on where we were going. I did not feel pressured to buy the most expensive plan.

My husband and son are taking a fishing trip to Alaska in late June, and I will join them later. I wasn't quite sure how to structure our travel insurance for this trip. The representative I spoke with was knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant and courteous. Yesterday I remembered another expense I had forgotten to account for so I spoke to another rep, and I had this amount added to our coverage. She too was helpful and understanding. This is our first purchase from Travelex and I am very impressed with your company. Hopefully the trip will go off without a hitch and we'll never get to find out how good your claims service is!

I bought my plan over the phone. I received good advice on an upgrade, and the rates were reasonable. I plan on going to Europe this fall, and will again contact to discuss insurance options. I had a claim on my Greenland trip, and I was treated most fairly with the settlement.

The young lady with whom I dealt on the phone was extremely helpful when I told her I needed repatriation insurance only. While noting that you do not offer repatriation only, she did manage to locate an inexpensive, inclusive policy that would satisfy Department of State requirements for the trip. I still have not received the policy in the mail, but this is not the fault of the person with whom I dealt. I'm sure it's on the way.

We always purchase Travelex. Maybe offer a special rate for return customers. We travel out of the country and appreciate travelex for medical insurance, just in case needed. To date, we've not used insurance but feel good just knowing we're covered.

My husband was not well enough to travel to an area that required extensive activity. We applied for a refund, and just received it with the help of Julius. However, your packet does not specify getting a letter of cancellation from the airline, which it should.

I purchased an overall trip insurance policy through the same travel site where I bought my airline tickets. After some research, realized that perhaps I should buy a medical only supplemental policy (we're not spring chickens). Travelex is very highly regarded online. Rick Steves' site lists you as well. Thinking this would be expensive, I emailed the company and asked for a quote. What a wonder, the price is extremely reasonable for myself and my husband and will enhance my enjoyment of the trip. When traveling out of the country we always purchase a Travelex medical policy which includes evacuation insurance - which is our primary concern. Fortunately, we've never had to use the insurance, so I can't comment on this aspect. However, the agents have always been very professional and knowledgeable when we have purchased our policies over the phone.

You ruined our first trip in 10 years. My wife's grandfather passed away 2 weeks after purchasing our coverage and five days prior to our trip. Our claim was denied because apparently I'm omnipotent and knew he was going to die. You took my money for the premiums and refused to pay. I have told my travel agent that recommended your company and plan to call every travel agency I can find over the next week to let them know how awful your company is and I'm not stopping there. Being old is not a pre-existing condition.

I think your company is very poor in giving any kind of decent & minimally caring service. I am in a crisis/flood area of Peru, just south of the equator for ten days today to get to Lima International Airport to leave on my business/vacation trip to see students in Argentina (now ruined by the floods and disasters in Peru currently). Each time I have asked about recovery under my plan and tried to get additional information, I have to "speak insurance" and fight for myself with your representatives. I paid for the **, the whole trip has been canceled and totally destroyed, and I have been sick in my hotel. Does Travelex care? I am suffering the loss of my entire trip, planned months earlier, and I have to fight with your company over the benefits?

This is the first time I have ever bought travel insurance privately. I have purchased it through various tour companies on other tours (although I don't recall if it was from your company or some other company). Price seems reasonable, but the proof is claims. We had travel insurance on one previous trip and had a medical claim for my wife, and they fully reimbursed our cash outlay in Norway for medical care. Hopefully, your company will do as well, if we are unfortunate enough to need to make a claim.

We have used Travelex for many years after a referral by our travel agent. We have had several claims, one for altitude sickness in Cuzco, another for a delayed departure from Newark to Lisbon because of winter weather, and another for a physician hotel visit in Seville. One time in South America the airline lost our luggage, other medical emergencies in other countries of the world. In other occasion a strike of flights in Europe. After reviewing information in Rick Steves Travel Book, I decided to compare 2 insurance companies for coverage and rates. Heather, at Travelex, was most helpful. She took the time to patiently and thoroughly answer all of my questions. I decided to book the coverage over the phone and she walked me through all steps. No problems signing up for policy. Price seemed good in comparison to other company quotes. Website easy to use, policy brochure very convenient and easy to read and understand. This is all I intend to write on this review, will review again after my trip.

Our agent, Jay, was astounding. First she described offerings to fit our needs with our Operations Manager, who gave me her name and asked me to give all the traveler information. I was assisted in a very tedious task, which she made simple and pleasant. She was clear in communication of a vast quantity of numbers and absolutely organized to keep each client separated, while still managing our group concerns. After completing our business, I had to call her back and cancel two clients who had purchased insurance differently. She was professional, efficient and swift. I have strong confidence in Jay and thereby, in Travelex that DPE's group will have a safe and stress-free trip next week-- with the assurance of ample and reasonable travel insurance. We discovered that our browser auto-filled the same traveler name rather than the 2 names I submitted. I called Travelex expecting push back or issues, but they quickly made the change and sent back a revised doc. Very painless and the agent was great.

Very fast and complete online process; transaction and confirmation were instant. Very pleased with how easy it was to comply with the requirements. Would be even better if I could speak to someone when filling out the forms to make sure I was buying adequate coverage.

We just recently purchased our policy and hopefully will not need to use it. The lady that I spoke with when I called was extremely helpful, courteous and efficient. Within a very short time she explained my options and emailed me quotes so that I was able to further review them, make my decision and easily complete my purchase online.

I have always used Travelex for my trip insurance, and I have had excellent service. I appreciate being able to apply and receive coverage online. I did have to cancel a trip a few years ago, and Travelex covered all of the expenses. I was very satisfied with the experience.

I used the mobile site to purchase some travel insurance for my upcoming honeymoon. Pricing was fair, everything was transparent, quick & easy. No unexpected costs and I promptly received the policy in the mail. I would definitely use Travelex again for future travel.

The lady who helped me register for the policy was very courteous and helpful. I have used your company in the past, and was hospitalized in 2008 in Vietnam. I had to also undergo several tests and ambulance rides. The company was prompt in reviewing and paying my claim.

I will not use any other company from now on! From choosing the right plan, filing a medical claim, and receiving a timely reimbursement, this company is A+! We had to go to the Emergency room in Mexico and this company walked me through everything I would need to do and paperwork I would need to secure for our claim. Upon returning home they walked me through completing the claim forms step by step. Made the process very easy! We use this company for every trip we go on!

I always go to Travelex. They have an easy to use website and they are rated highly. I use flight accident insurance for all my trips. It is a good feeling to know my kids would be taken care of. It is the company I always use.

I purchased travel insurance with my airline tickets through Priceline. The only travel insurance available was through Transamerica Casualty Insurance Company which now I find is farmed out to Travelex for the trip protection. I have filled out 2 claims after I called the office in NY. I have not had any response at all. No email, no phone call or snail mail response to my claim. My sister whom I was going to visit became very seriously ill and passed away prior to my trip from Hawaii to Dallas, TX. I was able to successfully cancel the trip through Priceline.

Don't be caught off guard! Stay away from travel agency CheapFareGuru.com and their affiliate TRAVELEX for trip protection. When my trip was canceled, I had a problem to contact CheapFareGuru for details. On CheapGuru website, they advertising 24x7 Customer Support. However, they have just one representative answering phone calls from California. Average of answer waiting time - 40 to 60 min. Actual agency is somewhere in India and they are working in local time without advertising their phones nor faxes etc. TRAVELEX advertised trip insurance as "Trip Cancellation/Interruption - Total Covered Air Ticket Cost." Clear and simple.
Predators. That is all I can say.
