I was trying to get a quote for my new business, and in my industry insurance is critical for closing contracts with other businesses. My broker was incapable of listening to my requirements both on the phone or reading emails. It took him a month of back and forth, multiple mistakes to finally draft a contract that had my requirements which should have been turned around within a week. I escalated to his management and asked to switch brokers because I'm a small business and cannot afford the churn or latency since 100% of my contracts require endorsements, COIs, etc. customized as part of the funnel to closing contracts. His management was defensive, condescending, and ultimately because of how I was treated as a customer, I didn't want to work with these brokers or their management chain. I couldn't trust that they would be able to do their job and not impact my sales funnel.

They do basically nothing. They just get your information, find an insurance company that you can find by just doing Google search, and that's it. You have to deal with the third party insurance company and make all the payments.

I take it that Insureon is trying to jettison small businesses. Our company has been bearing with their poor business practices for years, but this year it hit rock bottom. We received a nonrenewal letter and need guidance and assistance, yet not getting any responses at all! The agents change almost yearly, become younger and more inexperienced. The customer service is non-existent. Disrespect and arrogance is beyond description. Do not go with them if you a really small business!

Terrible waste of time - after half an hour of questions, only to get put on hold for a “partner” - an insurance company you want nothing to do with, or won't offer you coverage. Stay away - call big insurance directly.

This company is a joke. Almost 7k a year for a $0 payroll policy. What a joke. Scammer! I checked a few companies and they are all the same. California makes it even worse by requiring contractors to cart workers comp even without employees. I love throwing money down the drain. Only help the pockets of these thieves.

I submitted the online forms for quotes on 8/19/2024 and received an automated email from the assigned agent on the same day. Never heard anything more so I reached out on 8/24/24, and received a response on 8/26/24 that I would get a quote in 24-48 hours. It is now 9/3/2024 and I haven't received a quote. I wish I could've gotten someone to provide a quote, but business doesn't wait, and missing the advertised timelines twice without any further communication is a major turnoff.

I submitted info to them for a workmans comp policy for my company on 08/20/24 and never heard back. It provided a client ID number for me and said an agent was working on it, and if I needed additional info to get in touch with them. They provide you with a temporary login (email and password). That's how I was able to see that they were allegedly working on it.

Six days passed and no return call or email message, so I called them to get an update. They requested a ton of info again just like I was requesting a new policy all over gain. I informed the male rep that I had already provided the info he was requesting and if he could possibly retrieve the info from the client ID that Insureon had my info under. He never acknowledged the client ID, or asked for it to possibly make for a less aggravating experience.

After providing a ton of info again, he said he would transfer me to the appropriate person and he asked if it was OK to transfer me? I said "sure". He responded in an unusual and official tone, "I'll need a yes or no answer". I responded back "yes". He then told me to stand by, while he transferred me, only to be sent directly back to their main website where I promptly hung up. Their phone system is horrendous, the employee I talked to couldn't spell a basic name like mines and took much too long to answer basic questions. An exercise in futility is my overall reaction.

My biggest complaint with Insureon is one day after I submitted my workmans comp application, the very next morning starting at 8AM, I was flooded with spam phone calls. My email address was also flooded with spam from dozens of businesses that I've never dealt with or heard of. With my mail account being a business email account, I've only received less than a dozen spam email in the span of a few years. After my application to Insureon, I started receiving over a dozen spam emails per day, as well as 10-15 spam phone calls per day. When you fill out the application, there is nothing allowing you to opt out, or anything alerting you that your info would be sold.

I sent an email to the Dept of Insurance (I'm in Calif), and I'm waiting to hear back so I'll know where to file an official complaint against Insureon. They only have reviews on their own site and none from trusted and reliable sources. So unless you dig a bit deeper is the only way to see poor service and questionable business practices. If you've been spammed with a flood of emails and phone calls (as others have noted), please file complaints with the proper agency that has authority. I don't recommend anyone use them for any type of insurance being that they can't even do the very thing that that they claim they are in business for. Once I hear back from the Dept of Insurance, I will update this review.

Took over a week to find out they won't insure me. Really a waste of time. Process asks so many questions and takes days every time to ask more questions. Then looked into reviews and saw I'm not alone.

I had important questions about whether to make a claim with regard to damage to our business that the landlord would not cover. I tried repeatedly to reach customer service via phone (I left messages) and wrote emails too. No response whatsoever. Perhaps the company name should be Infurion because I was infuriated. It seems that small business actually don't matter when you're a big online broker.

I so wish I would’ve read the reviews before I contacted these people. Fine print states that you owe them $175 for their “fee”. Nothing I couldn’t have done on my own. Complete rip off. Totally not transparent about their fees at all!

Horrible to work with. Typically company that over-promises and under-delivers. So far -- only one person has made herself available for service on the policy and that person is horrible to work with. Never answers the phone, never submit documents on time, it's always late. Does not complete needed documentation competently. It's chaos to work with these people.

Insureon is an insurance marketplace. What they want you to think that means is that they'll get you the best quotes. What it really means is that they'll sell your information to dozens of third party insurance companies. Then the spam calls start. They will wake you up. Leave voicemails. Keep following up. There's nothing you can do except change your number and then warn as many people as possible not to do what you just did. I'm on this step right now!

Jason ** with Insureon started off our very first conversation with not one, but two blatant and obvious lies. First, he messaged me the next day claiming that I had "Caught him after hours" the day before (I contacted him at 3:34 p.m., they close at 5:30 p.m.). Second, he said that I was "required" to purchase a General liability policy along with the Workers Compensation policy that I needed. I hold my G.L. through another company that I have been with for years and am very happy with. G.L. and W.C. are completely separate forms of insurance, and in no state is it required to purchase them together. For a provider to claim that it is required is dishonest AND illegal. Jason should be fired immediately. Honesty is always the best policy, and he is a bold-faced LIAR!!!!

Jason ** is seriously amazing!! I can honestly say that in all my years of getting any kind of commercial auto or commercial insurance it’s always been a hassle I never looked forward to dealing with!! But Jason was a godsend. Not only did he answer all my questions, he got me all new policies with COIs within hours!! He was always just a text away and always prompt. Where my other insurers would take days to get me COIs! If you’re looking for new insurance I would recommend Jason over and over again!

Early in the process, it seemed promising....after filling out my company information and being transferred to a partner, the partner couldn't insure me...then transferred back...then to another partner, who couldn't insure me because I have one part time employee in AL and they don't do AL, even tho I told them I only need Florida...they told me WC covers all employees and you can't go state by state and had me pull my payroll for each state...90 minutes and nothing but wasted time. If Insureon can't send you to someone that can insure you, why do they ask questions and get in the middle of something they are only complicating.

Please update your internal database regarding my automatic renewals with Hiscox insurance for GLI. Brandon sent me an email that my PLI policy expired on 04 Aug 2021, which is not correct in two ways. First, Insureon does not have my PLI (E&O) policy. Second, my policy did not expire per Hiscox. Please update your internal databases so I do not get these annoying emails each year. Every time a new person takes over, I seem to get the same incorrect emails from Insureon. Thank you for your input and assistance in this matter. I would appreciate an email response to confirm when this have been permanently corrected internally at Insureon.

When I saw the Insureon site which says "Answer a few questions. Compare personalized quotes." I immediately thought, "ok cool this is like Progressive but for business insurance". Boy was I wrong. Instead I spent 10 minutes filling out a fairly extensive list of questions about my business only to be called the next day by a representative that proceeded to tediously confirm all contact information I had given and then transfer me to a partner company. Not a great start, doing this over a call vs having a website that just shows you the options is certainly not what I would prefer, but hey they picked a great partner based on all the info I entered right?

The new agent then proceeded to ask me ALL OF THE SAME QUESTIONS I HAD ENTERED ON THE WEBSITE FORM. Seriously? What was the point of entering all that if it's not transferred along. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DONE VIA EMAIL instead of me sitting on what turned out to be a 15 minute phone call just for the agent to inform me that "sorry we don't have a carrier that can provide coverage for you". Great you could have looked over my form submission and figured that out in 1 minute. "Answer a few questions. Compare personalized quotes." There were LOTS of questions, not a few. I did not get anything resembling a personalized quote. I was transferred to a particular company instead of being shown something that I could compare. So they lied about every promise they make on their site.

One of my friends started his own firm a couple of years back. He used Insureon and he recommended me to use them as well. They were pretty good. They were pretty responsive and timely. They were always helpful. But the website itself could be improved. In my case, whenever I log in, it shows three different applications. There’s three buttons for the same firm name. When I click one of the firm names, it takes me to finish an application. If I click another one, it takes me to a different page. If I click the third one, that’s when it shows all the proof of insurance documents.

Insureon looked like a good deal and it looked pretty easy. I can have the money go out every month and not worry about paying it. Their reps are right on point and they know exactly what they’re talking about. They tried to tell me everything. Then if somebody didn’t know what they were looking for, they would find out by asking. They’ve all been good. I got Insureon for peace of mind. I know that I'm covered and that everything is fine.
