I am writing to formally express my profound dissatisfaction with the customer service I received during a recent phone call to your company on 07/29/2025 @ 8:38 am - 9:00 am. The representative exhibited an unacceptable level of unprofessionalism and rudeness, making it impossible to resolve my inquiry. From the onset of the call, she repeatedly interrupted and cut me off, preventing me from fully explaining my situation or asking my questions. Despite my attempts to politely request that she allow me to finish speaking, she continued to talk over me, repeating herself and showing a complete disregard for active listening.

After rudely cutting me off multiple times, she informed me that she could not access my account. I attempted to explain that the remainder of my questions were not related to account access, but she refused to hear me out and continued her disruptive behavior. Her demeanor was consistently dismissive and highly unpleasant throughout our interaction.

Due to her persistent unwillingness to listen or allow me to speak, I requested to speak with a manager. She returned to the line stating that her manager, He, would not get on the phone. This refusal to escalate the call to a supervisor, especially given the circumstances, is deeply concerning and further compounded my frustration. I was disappointed by the level of disrespect and lack of basic customer service exhibited by her. I was left feeling unheard, undervalued, and utterly unable to obtain the assistance I needed from Homesite Insurance.

I called Homesite today to ask for help getting US Bank to update my homeowners insurance, and Erin (from Green Bay) was absolutely incredible. She went above and beyond—actually joining a call with me and US Bank to make sure everything got straightened out. Her professionalism, kindness, and initiative were far beyond what I expected. Erin was truly wonderful, and every employee should strive to be like her!

Such a horrible company. Cancelled my policy because they deemed the roof of my house needed to be replaced. Does not even give you time to have it replaced and even if you try to contact them, you get sent to the insurance company that you purchased the homeowners insurance from. I would not recommend Homesite to anyone that wants homeowners insurance. Ever!!!

My family use Homesite through Geico to insure our home as per the requirement for taking a loan from the bank to buy the house. During our first two years we had a bad pipe leak that destroyed our kitchen. We made a claim with the insurance company we had at the time, NOT HOMESITE, and after the claim was so poorly handled, we picked up Homesite after the repairs. Three years later we caught another small leak but stopped it before it caused significant damage, we opened a claim to help with repairs but after the repairs were done, without notice (Email, phone call, text, NOTHING) I receive a check in the mail saying Homesite has cancelled their service/coverage for my home and are refunding me.

I spoke with customer service, who I understand did not cancel my coverage so I don't snap at them, they advise me that utilizing my insurance coverage for its purpose of covering and repairing my home as INSURANCE IS INTENDED, the two times has listed my home as high risk and they can drop coverage. I was advised that if you can cover the damage caused to your home, to pay for it out of pocket and don't use insurance as intended or else you get "dinged" and they label you high risk then drop you. So they want me to pay an endless stream of money to insure my home but are unwilling to cover said home when damage occurs, awesome. Thanks Homesite.

Snakes. Policy went up 36%. Spoke with agent for Homesite (via Costco), went through every single line item within the Declarations page. The dwelling was valued too high thus they collect a higher premium from you. Come to find out via persistence and asking questions, "why is my dwelling so high?" via the second agent she offered: "you can request Lower Dwelling Coverage by approx 50k lower and then 100k lower from stated dwelling coverage. She offered THREE Dwelling totals!

I find it interesting that Homesite implemented the HIGHEST value obviously to collect a HIGHER premium, AND, that no one advised I can verbally request a reduction in Dwelling Coverage. How many people pay this Dwelling DEFAULT amount? Got a revised quote for $1,491 less than 30 days ago from their agent. 28 days later Homesite won't honor this total. Today, they stated Quotes are not guarantees and the total is now $1547. Then what is the point of offering a Quote? It's Pointless.

Totally frustrating SCAM! Paid down-payment then 10play plan. Can't get a human AT ALL. After forking over a total of $623.75 I received notice they were canceling policy because "dwelling roof has missing and/or damaged tiles that require repair and/or replacement" BS. An inspector called then never showed up when he said he would. If he did when I wasn't home my security cameras would have tracked him!

Not only am I certified in Preservation and Restoration of Historic Buildings but when I had gutter guards installed 2 years ago the roofer told me I'd get at least another 50 years from roof as it's in great shape. There's zero issues with my roof. I SUSPECT they know IF it were damaged the claim to replace it would be so high they don't WANT to cover it. Pos insurance company. So mad I'm now changing my car insurance FROM Progressive! They are trying to keep ALL the $$$ I paid!

Absolutely the worst! Simple hail claim for roof damage. I can never get a hold of my adjuster, Kaisha. I had to send a time limit demand to her and her supervisor to ever get a response on my claim after it was approved. Their initial payment to me was less than $1K for roof replacement with code upgrades. Long story short, they sent their adj out, he flew a drone and took some pics. He refused to look in the attic to see that my decking was not up to code. I sent in photos to support, Homesite argued saying "we don't have proof that is your roof". I was advised to have my roofer send in pics once the roof was tore off to show the slatted decking. I was told that once the photos were submitted, it would take 1-2 days to approve.

I was told to mitigate damages and tarp my roof while the pics were reviewed. That was 2.5 weeks ago and I've yet to hear anything regarding additional payment for the code upgrades that are part of my policy. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my house tarped for 1-2 days with Oklahoma weather, so I advised my roofers to move forward with completing my roof. It was completed in 2 days. All supporting photos and certificate of completion have been sent in and I'm still waiting. To date Homesite has paid less than $6K on a $23K full roof and decking replacement. I've paid my $6K deductible, but cannot get them to call me back regarding the remaining $9K for the decking. Super frustrating especially with the price of homeowners insurance premiums.

We had a water leak in our ceiling which flooded a portion of our home. I filed a claim with Geico (Homesite is the vendor they used for Homeowner's Insurance) and was told to get 3 contractors to provide quotes. OK - No problem, right? I got on to Yelp and found three 5-star vendors, notified them that this was "quote only" since I didn't want to get anyone mad. I received 3 quotes - 1/$31K, 2/$36K, and 3/$38K - So I look at this and say, "OK - it's going to take at least $30K to fix the damage. They offered me $4K. WHAT?!?! Then they went through and nickled-and-dimed every single aspect of the repair.

I had to fight for new flooring (we have continuous flooring), then I had to fight for drywall, paint... You get the idea. They never did approve new baseboards (really???) and I had to have a portion of the floor leveled .. Apparently this is not only "normal" but recommended... Still fighting over that... (and, since they didn't pay for all the floors to be leveled, one has to wonder if there will be issues in the future....Just saying....)

Lastly, the ALE (that is the rent they pay for when you have to move out of your house)... They are located in the mid-west. I am in Southern California. They did not give us enough money to rent a furnished house for the time that we needed. They flat out refused to pay the going rate, even though I provided them multiple quotes for the same type of home. I had to rush the construction guys (never a good idea) ... again, you get the idea.

All in all, Homesite was HORRIBLE to work with. Their adjusters are overworked (I feel sorry for my adjuster since we went round and round - most of which was instigated by her supervisor). There really has to be a better way .. And, for those of you all about data .. I was ultimately given $27K to fix my house. Guess where the rest came from???? MY POCKET!

We had a contractor doing some electric work in our attic who stumbled across a horrible roof issue where several of our joists had cracked in half. I Immediately opened a claim, and it took over 2 weeks for an inspector to come out and more than 6 voicemails from me. The inspector was decent to work with and agreed with our contractor that this was a 911 situation and the cause of the cracks were unknown. I was able to find our original inspection photos proving the joists were sound when we purchased the home 3 years ago. Even so, without knowing what the peril was, and despite the inspector agreeing it was "sudden and accidental," Homesite claimed no damage was discovered that they could cover per our policy, simply calling it "wear and tear" despite the obvious sudden and accidental nature of the issue.

To add insult to injury, every single phone call with our claims rep Jaime (Janie? No idea what her name was) was cold, empty and with no empathy or support. When we got Homesite, we liked that they were Midwest but that clearly meant nothing, she couldn't even pronounce Des Moines. You can extend empathy even when you can't extend support, especially after I shared that I am 9 months pregnant and the worst of the cracks are right over my baby's room. Not a word from them. The whole process was shockingly awful, from start to finish and we will be switching insurers immediately. Do NOT choose Homesite.

I have an active home insurance claim from 01/22/2024 for a leak in the ceiling coming from water intrusion from my roof. On 03/28/24, we signed a lease for long term housing that was paid by the insurance from Coverage D in my policy. Coverage D covers additional living expenses such as rent and utilities since I'm still obligated to pay for my mortgage and utilities at my affected property. The problem I'm experiencing with Homesite/American Family Insurance is their constant delays on repairs done to my property. My coverage limit is set to expire on June 30th, 2025, forcing us to pay out of pocket for a rental home in the time being.

From June 2024 to October 2024, there has not been any activity with my home in regards to repairs. I had to reach 11/07/24, permits were processed through the county by the contractor for the roof construction. On 01/15/25, the roof project was complete. Upon inspecting my property with my contractor after the roof construction, we noticed water intrusion coming from the walls. I started a new claim to make the insurance aware of the issue and they advised me that the new discovered damage would exist on the previous claim merging the two claims together. The merging of the two claim now prolongs the repair timeline and the insurance will not pay above the coverage limit. They have acknowledged that they were at fault for the delays and inactivity however, they did not provide a resolution.

The option they gave to me was to move me and my family out of our current rental home and into a cheaper home to prolong our coverage limit. The other option was for me to pay out of pocket for a additional living expenses. I cannot afford to pay for two homes and the utilities for each. I've had to work with 8 various desk adjusters during the time of my claim. Even more recently, I was reassigned a new adjuster 05/19/25 further delaying my claim.

He continued giving long talks for two days, and went out of the basic ethics of paying on simple claim. It was my mistake to pay out the claim to contractor thru my apartment web site due to default total payment option. Any good company could have seen this as mistake and still approved the claim as it was a clear case of claim against the liability. Never ever go for this company. Horrible! I got stuck with them thru a bundle from Progressive. Homesite gave me the royal shaft. First off my home cost 350k new construction in 2018. I went online to get coverage. I set all the coverage parameters at that time. Coverage A 500k. The policy was written at that coverage amount but not a week later they send an adjuster, the following week in the mail I get a letter showing the original yearly premium went up from 1800 (Coverage A 500k) to 2500 (Coverage A 801k). The reason I was given was that the adjuster labeled my home as a custom grade home. When I had the home built it was at builder's grade specs, bare everything, no structural upgrades whatsoever.

I also had to file a claim due to 100+ winds, had to replace roof and also had water damage which cause me to vacate my kitchen, and I could not clean any dishes as plumbing was cut off to the center island countertop where the sink is, and the dishwasher was also removed to rebuild the cabinets below the countertop because of mold and water damage, plenty of pics to show. My Daughter and at the time my 85-year-old mother were forced to eat out for breakfast and dinner. When repairs were done we also filed a loss of use claim because of loss of use of the kitchen (currently pursuing litigation).

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Homesite Insurance. I am thoroughly disappointed with the service I received from Homesite Insurance. When I purchased my home insurance through GEICO, I was unaware that my home was insured through Homesite. I recently had to file a claim for roof damage, and the experience has been frustrating and upsetting. The adjuster, Carl **, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. During our conversation, I expressed that I did not want to continue working with him and requested to speak to a different adjuster. Instead of accommodating my request, he became even more aggressive and even threatened to close my claim.

To make matters worse, after their inspector visited my home to assess the damage, Carl ** called me again, making slanderous claims that I caused the roof damage myself and that it was not caused by wind, as I had originally stated. Despite having photo evidence from my roofing contractor, Carl refused to listen and continued to be dismissive and rude. I would strongly advise against using Homesite Insurance, especially if you value professionalism and fair treatment. Stay away!!! I received a letter around February stating that I need to replace my roof due to algae build up. I proceeded to take action and clean the algae. The roof is now clean. I sent Homesite an appraisal from 2022, and 2023, stating the roof was in good shape. I also sent a picture of the clean roof to dispute that decision. The dispute was denied. But I was insured that I am still covered. September 26th Hurricane Helene hit. I sustained much damage including roof damage, fence damage and many trees down. I sent in the claim and their inspector came out. He said I had minimal damage and needed to replace a few shingles. I totally agreed as I was just up on the roof cleaning off the algae and the roof looked great.

The only time my adjuster called was to acknowledge the claim had been filed. November 29th Guy Roofing comes out to do an estimate on the repairs. They find the missing shingles, hail damage, parts on the cap of the roof that appears to be hit by debris and actually lifted the cap to expose the underside of the cap. The roofing contractor absolutely recommends replacing this roof. November 30th, I open a new claim. Homesite adjuster Carl ** calls and says I need to close the new claim and re-open the old one. So I did that. He also says they will have another inspector meet with my guy and perform a reinspection. Time goes by, I hear nothing. December 29th, I notice a leak inside my house where the shingles were missing so I look my Homesite adjuster up and that has now been changed to a Clyde **.

He said I should tarp it, that any further damages are my responsibility. I said well thanks, that is the only advice this company has given me. Finally January 6th, I have heard nothing. I call and demand to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor calls and this is one rude lady. She did not want to hear me out, she was determined to speak over me. She said her hail map shows there was no hail in my area on that day. So she closed my claim. She did not want to hear that there was other damages than hail. I told her I feel that the initial inspection was fraudulent and ironic that the cost of repair came in just under my deductible. That inspector missed so much damage.

Contractor showed very clear damage, drone footage, very thorough inspection. THEY EVEN SHOWED THE HAIL SWATCH AND I WAS IN THE VICINITYOF HAIL. My roof has much damage that was not there this summer. I am greatly upset that this had been drug out since September 26th. Homesite was very difficult to get answers from. I was denied the second inspection basically ignored, was treated very rude. They have now left me with a damaged roof they refuse to repair and no homeowners insurance. Nobody will cover me with the damage left from the hurricane and the lack of help from Homesite.

Look at the way they describe how their 10% wind/hail deductible works. It just does not get any more misleading than the way they wrote it out. Bear in mind the deductible is 10% - Homesite's example was written this way on Progressive's website - "for example, your wind and hail deductible is 1% (This is their first misleading statement, the deductible is 10%) and your coverage limit is $200,000. That means the wind and hail deductible (out of pocket expense) for your claim would be $2,000" In reality, your deductible is 10%, so your $200,000 policy would mean your deductible is $20,000 and NOT $2,000. They used the example of 1% which would completely throw off people who are not math savvy. It actually borders on outright lying using a bogus mathematical calculation.

I called Homesite and they claimed to have never received my emails despite me forwarding them the confirmation receipts. Avoid Homesite! I purchased home insurance in late August through Progressive. Less than a month later I received a letter stating they were cancelling my insurance in 30 days if I didn't replace my roof and put a handrail on my exterior basement steps. I didn't balk on the roof; it was almost 30 years old so their concern was legitimate. However, Helene had just torn through my area so roofers were far and few between so I asked for an extension. The response was "Sorry, we don't make exceptions for anyone".

Luckily, I was able to get a new roof and handrail installed. Sent in all the required documentation and photos a week before the cancellation date. Two days after sending in documentation I received a partial refund of my premium, check dated same day as cancellation letter. I called every day and was told it's still under review, the underwriters are backed up. Cancellation date came and went so I had no insurance. Called everyday and kept being told my review would be escalated.

10 days after my policy was cancelled, I received a late night voicemail that the roof was accepted but balusters were required under the handrail - the exterior metal handrail that was attached to an exterior, solid, concrete wall. Any underwriter that says balusters are required under a metal, exterior handrail attached to a solid wall doesn't have any business being an underwriter. I called and asked for clarification because that's just beyond absurd. Told it would be another 3-5 days to review.

Called 5 days later and am told the underwriters came back and said balusters were not required so handrail is accepted. Ok so policy is reinstated, correct? NO! Why? No clue. But they are going to ask the underwriters and I should hear back in 3-5 days. This company is a complete joke and waste of time. I already have insurance with someone else (less expensive with higher home value) while I wait on yet another review. My advice is don't even THINK about getting insurance with this fraud of a company.

First of all, let me start by saying I did not cancel this policy. Homesite did. And I believe it was a fraudulent/unfair cancellation. Settle in because this is going to be long. I opened the policy originally to start on 9/18/24. Rates were very good and process was simple to open the policy. Then we decided to file a claim to replace our roof with Allstate. So I called back a couple days later and pushed the policy to begin 10/18/24 because I knew the roof wouldn't be done in time.

Well Homesite sent their inspector within that same week anyway, even though it wasn't to start for 25 more days. That inspector then proceeded to deem us "uninsurable" because of the roof and the chimney. WHICH WE KNEW. So they apparently sent a notice that we had until 11/3/24 to get it fixed. (Even though the policy document says there should be a 45 day notice!) They sent this notice as an online document, which I could not access because they CANCELLED my online access immediately when that notice went out. So I called to figure out why I couldn't get in my online account. At which point I was told what was happening.

By then, I had less than 2 weeks to get my roof replaced before being cancelled by Homesite on 11/3/24. I managed to make it happen. On 11/1/24, I submitted pictures of all the repairs and everything they requested (with 2 days to spare). To this day, 11/6/24.... I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE OR ANY COMMUNICATION WHETHER THAT WAS APPROVED. I tried to call on the 3rd... They were closed. I called on the 4th, I was told it had not been reviewed yet but they would "escalate" the request. I confirmed at that time that it had in fact been cancelled on the 3rd and I was completely without coverage, even though I submitted all the pictures 2 days before the deadline!

This has been the absolute worst insurance experience I have ever had in my life. I have been a homeowner for 30 years and have never once been without coverage. And on top of that, I didn't know it was cancelled (since I submitted proof it was repaired in plenty of time) and there were tornadoes ripping through my town for 2 days when I wasn't covered! Here we are on Wednesday and I still have no answer as to whether I am "worthy" enough to have their coverage. To top it off.... I just got an email from Progressive saying "we're sorry your are leaving, please tell us why you canceled your policy?" Really Progressive? So we will see how long it takes them to refund my money for the year. Because you can bet they took it before the approval was completed.

I’ve had multiple leaks in my home and have been given the runaround that it’s a roof or just rain or maybe the window. I’ve had multiple inspectors at my home and they could not pinpoint the problem and wanted to blame it on someone else when I talk to the supervisor, Leslie, she was very demeaning and lectured me as if I were a child on the maintenance of my home when she didn’t even know my entire file. Maybe if the inspectors would have been able to actually pinpoint the problem and the first or second time that they were at the house, then we would’ve known what we needed to fix. Again, I would never recommend this insurance to anyone. We will be switching as of tomorrow.

NOPE. They have delayed for nine months, forcing my contractor to jump through hoops to get any movement - and at the seven month mark, simply closed the claim. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the state regulatory agency that they suddenly ALLEGED they were going to fix it, and that a check was in the mail.

Two months later, no check and now it is with a "new" adjuster who is back to asking my contractor to resubmit the exact same paperwork for the tenth time - because, of course, the state agency closed out the complaint based on the representation Homesite had cured the issue. Nine months and counting of water infiltration and my kids are getting sick with respiratory illness, because of course mold is going to start to grow. Every other home in my community suffered the same damage and every other home had their roof replaced months ago without issue. Homesite is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with, to the point of making State Farm seem great! Geico should be embarrassed to offer bundled coverage with them.

I submitted my claim and in a month and a half that it was open I never once spoke to my adjuster nor did anybody do an investigation to my property damage or anything else for that matter.

The only time I heard from my adjuster was when she sent me an email denying my claim stating that there was no evidence to support it even though I had submitted pictures of the mold and doctors notes as well as a mold inspection report. Per My Homesite policy it states if the mold is unseen, as in the flooring ceilings or walls that the claim should be covered. The only investigation my adjuster did was to call my landlord who made a simple statement that “he fixed the water heater”… He did not have to provide any evidence or proof that the repair was done professionally or properly or that it was done at all!

Due to that one statement, my landlord made Homesite denied my claim. I’m now out of pocket thousands of dollars and many of my belongings had to be destroyed due to the mold spores and to ensure cross-contamination wasn’t done at my new home. I’m currently fighting the denial through Homesite and if I can’t get it fixed through them I will be seeking legal advice as there’s nothing in my policy stating this claim should’ve been denied, Matter fact quite the contrary… Under my circumstances, it shows that the claim should’ve been approved. So be careful when choosing renters or home insurance as Homesite does NOT have its clients best interest, and they will do whatever they can to find a loophole to NOT pay Claims that should’ve been covered.

Hi all, I signed up for HomeSite after having Progressive for auto insurance for a year or so. I read all those same reviews online that you did, and as a result was very worried at first. But from what I can tell, there's nothing further from the truth today in August 2024. My experience with the website, the policy, the adjustor, the customer service line, the claims website and the claim payment vendor - they were all 100% first class.

The coverage was basic renter's insurance with Replacement Cost coverage added into it. I took a trip to Italy with my partner and on our last day, we visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Unfortunately during the brief visit, nearby thieves were able to access our vehicle electronically without the keys, lower the backseat to reach the trunk through the rear passenger window and obtain a backpack filled with expensive electronics along with a large purse.

We called the police in Pisa and they had closed at 9 PM on that Friday. The answering service asked us to visit in person during business hours and I said we weren't going to be in the country, as we were flying to Paris before 8AM the following Saturday. When I returned home, I spent a week trying to file a police report with the US Consulate in Florence or over the phone, only to be told either I had to visit personally somewhere in the EU again to do so, or have an attorney do it for me. After reaching out to nearly a dozen attorneys, one got back to me.

In the midst of this, I checked all the coverages I had on my AMEX Platinum and Visa Infinite cards. None of them covered theft of property from the vehicle. But thank goodness, HomeSite renter's insurance did! I submitted a claim, got a same-day response by a live human who was to be my adjustor. They were even staffed in my own Pacific time zone for maximum availability. Initially I was told that a police report was required to proceed, but upon arranging to travel to meet an Italian attorney on the east coast to provide power of attorney to file one on my behalf, HomeSite management graciously waived the police report requirement at their own prompting, so I cancelled the appointment.

Within a few short days, I submitted our various proofs of ownership of all the items I could recall were taken in the two bags. Less than 24 hours after I notified the adjustor I had completed the inventory online, an estimate was provided. The same day the estimate was provided, upon accepting, payment was made immediately, directly to my checking account via debit card. Please do yourself a favor and get coverage before you need it, you never know when you could be taking some really expensive selfies against a building that was built on a slant! And it might not even be in Italy.

They have changed 4 adjusters for us and many of them are unresponsive. The worst part is that, the newest adjuster directly contradicts what the old adjuster says. The old adjuster said they have approved our claim to fix the whole floor and we put a deposit on the contractor. But the new adjuster we just got said they are only fixing the damaged area of the floor and we should just sand everything and it should be fine. But our contractor directly told us sanding everything is not going to look the same as before. So he said they are not paying it.

He asked us to provide email evidence saying the previous adjuster has approved the floor project. But we only communicated by calls but calls are recorded on their side. He told us it is not his responsibility to go through all the call recordings. Any one has similar experience? Have you sued them? How did you resolve the issue in the end?

Because consumers want the assurance that if every they had to file a claim, they can be confident that their insurance company will make them whole again. That's not the case with them. They must be paying for their ratings because every site I check has the majority negative reviews against them.

Before purchasing my first home in October of 2023, I selected Progressive for homeowners insurance. I had used Progressive for auto insurance for many years, and they were fantastic. Setting up our policy was easy, and the agent we were working with explained everything....except one major piece, that our homeowners insurance was actually going to be handled by Homesite.

Two weeks after purchasing our home, we received mail indicating our policy was being dropped due to a tree overhanging our roof. We assumed it was our neighbor's tree which overhung our roof less than a foot. Homesite could confirm which tree was the issue before we paid to have the tree removed as there are many on our property. They would not provide photos, or provided inaccurate information about the side of the house it could have been on, and said we should take it down anyway because there are powerlines cutting through the tree. Immediately we knew that information was wrong, but we proceeded to rectify.

We immediately talked with our neighbor and got the tree taken down by a professional tree company. We submitted photos showing the tree was down, but then were told they could not process the proof of repair before our policy would be cancelled. We immediately found a new insurance provided, and called both Progressive and Homesite to cancel our policies for home and auto. All in all, this process took us over 30 hours of being on the phone, because every time we called Homesite nobody could follow the track of our issue. It was infuriating.

We eventually got the policy cancelled, received paperwork stating we no longer had a policy, and received a refund. Fast forward SIX months later, and we received notice they are taking us to debt collection for not paying on our policy. In Progressive's system, it showed our policy was cancelled, but not with Homesite! They told us we are in collections and owe them for insurance we did not have, on a policy cancelled on some of the company's records, but not all of them. This saga of incompetency with this company continues, and we are at wits end.

I made my first claim on my roof with Homesite through Progressive. First of all they insure your house at least $100,000 over then it should be. And they won’t budge. Second of all- the claim adjuster I got was rude. And when I didn’t get my second payout check in the 5-7 business days, I called and spoke to her supervisor which told me he would get it expedited that day. Here we are and still no check. So I called again and left a message with the supervisor. Nothing. I emailed the adjuster asking why it is taking so long past what her supervisor said. Still nothing.

I cannot stress this enough: steer clear of Homesite Insurance like your life depends on it. This company is an absolute disaster from start to finish, and my experience with them, especially with their so-called adjustor Deni **, was nothing short of a nightmare. Let me start by saying that it took over two agonizing years for Homesite to settle a simple burst pipe claim. Yes, you read that right, two years! I'd have better luck getting a response from a snail than from their customer service. From the moment I filed the claim, it was like entering a black hole of bureaucracy and incompetence.

Deni **, the adjustor assigned to my case, deserves a special mention for being utterly horrible at his job. Not only was he unresponsive and dismissive, but he seemed to go out of his way to make the process as excruciating as possible. It felt like pulling teeth just to get a single update on the status of my claim. And when I did manage to reach him, his attitude was beyond appalling, as if I was inconveniencing him by seeking the coverage I had been faithfully paying for.

Communication? Forget about it. It was like shouting into the void. Emails went unanswered, phone calls were ignored, and when I did manage to get through, I was met with empty promises and vague assurances that everything would be sorted out soon. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. In desperation, I had to hire a public adjustor and eventually attorneys just to get Homesite to take my claim seriously. And even then, ** initially tried to ignore their inquiries, adding further insult to injury. Two years of battling with Homesite and Deni ** left me emotionally drained and financially devastated. The burst pipe damage was bad enough, but the stress and frustration caused by Homesite's incompetence only added insult to injury. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.

In conclusion, if you value your sanity and actually want your insurance claims to be handled in a timely and professional manner, stay far away from Homesite Insurance. Save yourself the headache and find a company that actually cares about its customers, because Homesite certainly doesn't. And if you ever come across the name Deni ** in your dealings with this company, run in the opposite direction as fast as you can. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

I have tried explaining this is just a window NOT a door, but they insist I remove the mature landscaping and put stairs in (because the adjuster said so). I have been working on this for WEEKS, trying to send updated pictures, the pictures are too big to send, so I send a ZIP file, they can't open those, I said well then send the adjuster back out to look, nope can't do that, than let me take the pictures in a local office, there are none, than let me speak to the people making the decision that I need the stairs, they don't take incoming calls.

The thing that sucks is the employees I am speaking with are actually very friendly and TRY to be helpful, this not a matter of the customer service people, but a problem with the company model. The company's customer service is HORRENDOUS, run away, go with anyone else, learn from my mistakes, I will be changing ASAP. Original Review: Aug. 2, 2023

I signed up with this company Aug '22 when we purchased our home. It is a fixer upper in that it does need some TLC. Friendly service over the phone, never had customer service issues. As you sign up they advise you that within 30 days someone will contact you to visit your home and take pictures of the roof etc. No one called, no one came. In May (9 mos later) some scruffy, creepy dude with sunglasses on, knocks on my door while I am home alone. I have pictures from my camera, he was un-kept. He is carrying a long stick in his hand. I don't answer the door because I am home alone. He proceeds to start walking around my house taking pictures of everything, even taking a picture up at the window (while I am standing in it). He seriously looked like he was casing the joint!

When he got far enough away from the door that I felt safe to do so I opened it and asked what he was doing. He says my insurance company should have called. Nope, they didn't. He said he left a flier on the door, no info on it...he then tells me he isn't allowed to leave any info on the flier. He couldn't tell me the name of my insurance company either and again, no one called me to tell me some creepy dude was visiting me. No appointment made.

Long story short, I call the ins company who tells me that I was made aware there would be someone coming when I signed up. They don't have to call because I was advised over the phone nine months ago. They couldn't tell me if this is what the guy was there for either. They were able to advise that they do contract with the company this man said he was from and they would look into it because my safety is important. They will call me back. No call back.

Now, one week before renewal (three months from when the guy showed up and 11 months after they were supposed to send him) I receive a letter from Homesite saying there is a list of things they would like to see fixed before they can renew my policy. They gave me five days. Broken fence, broken step on the porch etc. I am sure I didn't get an unbiased review either after harassing the guy reporting back to them for taking pictures of my house without permission. I have been given no time to fix anything and now am being dropped. Unbelievable! I can't even imagine how they would handle an actual claim after being treated like this. I do NOT recommend!!!

I talked to a guy who set up the policy and did a soft pull of my credit, which I was not thrilled about, to give me only a quote. I will not be buying this renter's insurance policy. I did not like how much a month it is. I do not own anything that is worth even having renter's insurance in the first place. I then called Progressive to see what my discount would be, and Trisha could not answer me.

So she transferred me back to Homesite and they also could not answer me. Then, the man on the phone transferred me back to Progressive without telling me! All of a sudden it is quiet and I hear the automated lady ask me why I am calling Progressive. I had no idea why. I got through and I had to ask for a supervisor. This took a little while to get through to a Progressive supervisor. He finally answered my question. This 20 minute session turned into over 1.5 hours. It only saved me $16 a year to 'bundle and save.' They are not even combined on my bill. They are on two separate bills. I know this is not how other insurance companies do this. I would not recommend Homesite insurance 'combined' with Progressive insurance.

I cancelled my homeowner's renewal in part because of a sharp rate increase and in part because of a claim being handled very poorly. I had already paid the next year's premium in full about one month prior to my cancellation. I cancelled the renewal on Dec. 4 and my old policy, already paid in full the year before, was to expire on Dec. 14, plenty of time to process the cancellation. I was told that I would receive a refund in 7 to 10 business days. After 12 days and no refund, I called and was told that they were waiting for the old policy to expire before refunding the money for the cancelled policy. As illogical and shady as that was, it gets worse. I was told that the refund was in the mail on Dec. 15 and I must again wait 7 to 10 business days for delivery.

I called on Dec. 27, 12 days later, to report no refund having been received. I was then told to wait another couple of days because I must calculate the delivery time according to Homesite's work week rather than that of the USPS. After that allotted time passed, I again called and was told to wait at least until Jan. 6 to report a non-delivery of the promised check. Please note that, at this point, they are claiming that a mailed refund reasonably can take 33 days to reach the customer.

When I inquired what would be done on Jan. 6, I was told that they would begin the process over again, but the wait time would be greater because they would add time to stop payment on the check they claim to have sent 2 weeks ago. They will lie to you repeatedly. Their claim process was heartbreaking also. My deductible was $1000 but I had to put out nearly $7000 because they nickel and dime you to absurdity. I should have cancelled them immediately after the claim experience.

I have been a customer of Homesite by Progressive for over 5 years, I have had no previous experiences good or bad, but recently I got married and went through the process of adding my wife's wedding ring to our Home Insurance Policy. I contacted them in March and was advised to obtain an appraisal which I did from Shane Co. where I purchased the ring. The instructions I received from Customer services were instructed me to send the appraisal to them and they would contact me if anything else was needed. I received a confirmation Email a few days later that they had received the appraisal and for me to stand by. I did not receive any further info regarding the matter and I assumed I was now covered.

In November my wife's wedding ring was either lost or stolen and we submitted a claim. The Homesite Insurance Adjuster contacted us the next day and advised that our claim was denied because we did not have the ring covered in our policy. I contacted Homesite Customer Services and they advised that the Appraisal which I obtained from Shane Co. was received but not sufficient for their requirements, and that the ring was never added to my Policy.

Customer Services confirmed that based on their records that there was never any communication sent to me regarding the rejection of the Appraisal document from Shane Co. or any steps I needed to take to obtain coverage. The Rep told me there that a note was placed in my file stating that the appraisal did not have a Store Address and Signature so it was not accepted. I confirmed that the appraisal did have a Customer Reference Number listed, which is what is used by Shane Co. for insurance purposes and appraisal confirmation in situations like this one. Furthermore that since we had now submitted a claim of Loss, even though it was immediately denied due to lack of coverage, we were unable to insure the ring if it was recovered in the future.

The fact that I did not receive any communication from Homesite led to our lack of coverage and they will not take any responsibility, I was told that there is no recourse or way to fix this. I was also told that there was no "Claim Listed" for a Loss, but they can see that I had a denied claim so now I cannot get valuable personal property insurance based on a denied claim that was never completed.

I am extremely frustrated at this at the lack of professionalism, Homesite made a mistake and It cost us a large sum of money on top of immeasurable emotional distress of loss of a sentimental item. Homesite by Progressive has made no attempt to make this right and the fact that now we have this illegitimate claim on my file that was never technically filed or acted on makes me feel like I was caught in some sort of vicious cycle, and taken advantage of. I am sure there are countless individuals out there who have also suffered from this lack of communication as well.

Homesite - via Geico - has insured our home since we moved here in November 2020. Didn't know it wasn't Geico until we filed a claim -- Geico sublets home insurance to Homesite, a company dead last in JD Power rankings. On June 10 we had a once-in-a-lifetime hail/rainstorm. Gutters filled to the top with hail, then 3 inches of rain fell within an hour. Water overwhelmed the gutters, which were filled with hail, dropped down instead of being carried away and entered one of the basement windows - above the foundation - flooding the basement. Homesite says this is ground water and that it is not covered. But Homesite's own definition of ground water is water below the surface of the ground.

This was at ground level, not below it, and we provided the adjuster ample proof with pictures from during and after the storm. After the adjustor requested estimates from carpeting and drywall contractors we were given this decision 43 days after filing the claim. This followed the pattern set with the first part of the claim - the hail damage to our roof. We are the only house among more than 50 contracted by our roofer that is not getting an insured gutter replacement. Homesite calls the damage cosmetic. It also won't cover our deck needing to be resurfaced, even though that is also industry standard. When we purchased this policy we checked every replacement value option available. We always overinsure. Despite that, we were given "replacement value minus unrecoverable depreciation" on the roof, meaning Homesite will pay roughly half the cost.

A six-word addendum to the policy stuck in the middle of 50 pages negates all the paragraphs in the policy that say we are getting full replacement value. It's a bad-faith bait-and-switch and fully in line with the terrible, unresponsive customer service provided throughout this process. We have $39,000 in damage, and we got a check for a little over $13,000. Homesite either squeaks through loopholes or flatly lies about damage, and it seems to be company policy to not return phone messages or emails. Do not trust this company to protect your home – insurers are supposed to make things better, not far worse, when a disaster hits.

In August of 2021, my children and I were unable to be inside the home I was renting. The home had dad moldy smell. We had a hot and humid June July and August! It wasn’t until September I was able to walk inside the property without having my skin burn! My children left August 1st and I never brought them back inside that home again! I thought back-and-forth with my landlord. I filed an insurance claim and at the time did not know that it was mold that was giving us this reaction. When I had the test completed on the filter for the furnace and the test came back positive and high with mold spores and I haven’t even ran the AC or the heater as we were moving into fall.

I slept in my vehicle, I lost my children, I had a judge tell me that I could not have my children live inside a property that had mold, however she didn’t allow me to speak because I wasn’t there for the two court dates prior to that my ex had behind my back. Under my renter's insurance policy, since we were unable to be inside the home for long periods of time, we didn’t even sleep there. I tried to call Homesite several times. I was told the original claim I opened in August 2021 what is the claim they would use. I sent them a copy of the mold report completed by a licensed agent. I was even told by the adjuster, she was just going to deny my claim and send me a letter. She wasn’t even going to call me.

When you do call them back immediately, they don’t answer their phone. You can call them right back, and it would go to voicemail. So I started to leave emails as well! Documentation! Because I could see what type of company this was! The Home had forced air and you could see there was stuff growing on my personal property. I was told I needed to take pictures, not throw anything away, and save any receipts. I was also told a claim would be opened. I had to call back three days later and ask about the claim! When I called the second time to update once I found out what the issue was I wasn’t offered a safe place to breathe and live with my children. And when I asked why someone wouldn’t come out, even though the paperwork they send says they will use a third-party to come to the home and look at the items.

I kept calling, I kept asking, I kept begging! And pleading! And nothing! My claim was closed and they didn’t even send me yeah a denial letter. New norm so I could appeal. This company has lied. And I can prove it. This company owes me and my children for everything we lost. They could have just simply helped and paid out on the claim! Once I did get an answer about the payment for the claim, it was $2500! For a $20,000 policy!!! My policy wasn’t outrageous it was my first policy! I didn’t expect to have mold inside the air ducks, I paid to have them cleaned twice! The adjuster even went as far as to block my emails! And I was lied to. I was told she no longer work there.

After a little bit of digging on this insurance company. Homesite insurance of Florida, I saw they had a review or an audit I should say and in that audit states that they were not paying out on their claims! This was back in 2017! Can you imagine how many people have lost so much and they haven’t been held accountable for? I have some pretty damaging printed screens of messages or lack thereof in regards to this company!!! What blows my mind, were they able to take my payment upfront for a year, before the claim was even closed, they already have the billing up a month prior to for the start of the next policy! This has been the worst experience for my children and I! Please not go with this company for insurance purposes!!

Let me be clear that all of the customer service folks were all very helpful. Willful Negligence. Personal Property. Fraud. Racketeering. These words all have meaning legally. Most of us have a vague understanding of what these terms mean, but aren't well versed in the true nuanced conveyance they carry with them. Criminals do. Especially White Collar Criminals. Mind you Personal Property, is property you own that you can physically move as you move. Therefore a house is Real Property. You can still own it, but it's not meant to move as you move.

I've had what I thought was Progressive Renters Insurance since 2019. I've never had renters insurance before, and I don't know why id never heard about it up til then. Wow, some peace of mind, that JUST IN CASE, something happens, I covered my **. I've never been robbed. I had a real beater bike stolen once, but they couldn't do anything worse to that bike that I hadn't already done. Hey perfect excuse to get a new bike. Cool. In hindsight I'm glad I went with a different insurance company seeing as that I've spent bought a grand on a beach cruiser that I've upgraded into something pretty cool.

Anyway, one day, I'm riding around and I see this guy on this super cool looking scooter, it's pretty cool, quiet... Must be electric, why not go online and have a look. And I did, and about 2 weeks later, after checking with the DMV, and getting confirmation from the manufacturer that it was street legal here in California, I called Progressive (up to this point I still thought Progressive held my policy) and I told them about the scooter. Doesn't need to be registered, Don't need a special license or any endorsement, and I don't need liability insurance to operate it. With those factors involved this makes the scooter fall under the "Personal Property" category. It literally moves as I move with it. The rep on the phone affirmed that with me and that I would be covered under my Policy. 10,000 for loss due to Natural Disaster or Theft of personal property. I even poped for the Extension, that precludes me from any loss of value due to depreciation.

I paid 2,300 for the escooter, and I put about 1,000 into it. Sweet. That was Aug 2021. Jan 5-6th 2022, and the scooter was stolen from my property. I cover and lock that bike every night. Every night. Nobody gets robbed in my neighborhood. Once in great while, a window gets smashed, but nobody leaves their stuff in their car. This night, I failed to cover and lock my scooter. And someone stole it.... After the initial shock, I called the police, my credit card company, and my insurance, but this time I was contacted by an adjuster from Homesite.

Within the first 5 or 6 mins of the conversation, I have already been informed what the percentages are of it being covered and that they have been denying these types of claims a lot recently, so not sure if they can do anything to help. I've never been robbed, I've filed a claim for my cell phone once or twice, but that is the sting of 100 bucks. This is 3300/3400 hundred dollars that I put on my Southwest card at 25% apr. And I'm 6 payments in.

My adjuster has absolutely no bedside manner, I'm crushed by my loss, and I'm getting backhand slapped by a complete stranger that (I think) she found joy in telling me that any evaluation of the actual value of anything stolen will be USED prices not NEW.... USED.... And then after that, they will determine a fair value, and THEN add in the depreciation of the items, and that will set the determination of what they will cover. Thanks. I'm gonna go cry now. What? So I pay you every month. Never missed a payment. Never Filed a claim before. And your opening is You ain't Getting Jack Squat buddy? Again thank you.

They will review the claim and get back to me. Now, I don't think my adjuster thought that written communication was "her thing" cause everything that was in writing was mundane, dry, emotionless, and lacked that human vibe. Now get my adjuster on the phone, loves to cut loose and tell me all the stuff she can't be legally bound to because of hear-say evidence. Told me that the fact my scooter looks like a chopper, might be an issue. So what? It could look like a tangerine, doesn't change the legality of its classification. Then I was instructed to send over pictures, and receipts and proofs of purchase with time and date. Ok, so I sent here over a dozen invoices with all that information. And informed her that I was having issues with uploading photos to the site. No response. Also never got a response verifying my police report.

3 days later, I got another email, telling me that I didn't upload the documents or the photos properly and needed to do it again, but this time I needed to send in an itemized list of all the stolen stuff and individually record the time, dates of purchase, each with its own receipt, and PROOF OF PURCHASE, and any photos with me in the picture and they have to be from the same camera that I own. Can't be photos from a different phone or downloaded from any site. What? Then I'm asked specifically to find them ANYWHERE where that has my scooter priced at 2300 dollars, cause the most they found was 1100 and that was premium price. Are you telling me that my scooter was a cheap piece of trash, and somehow implying that I'm a fool for even filing a claim for such a cheap piece of trash. Now I'm just insulted. Here's everything from Amazon.. You fill it out, do your job. Should have taken her up on it.

Long story short, My claim was partially denied. The scooter was out, but the stuff with the bike is good. Well, sort of. Initially they told me that they assessed my loss to be 410 dollars, minus 13 change for DEPRECIATION. And after my 500 dollar deductible. They found that my award was 0.00. And thanks for choosing Homesite. Except you forgot the $545 dollar lithium ion battery (I bought a month before), The $87 dollar lock (I got from England), The $30 foot pegs (that I went through 3 pairs to find ones that fit right) A set of tactile gloves at $30, and the Mirrors, split set $50 dollars. But, to their credit, they did award me 18 dollars for the glow in the dark powder that was on the same invoice as a set of the rearview mirrors. But not the mirrors. And I used all that powder already.

The powder was at the bottom of the invoice and the mirrors were the first item listed. My adjuster apologized and said she forgot the Battery, and will send something right out correcting it. 24 hours later I've got 3 emails letting me know that my check has been processed for the amount of $551. What about the other stuff.... Oh, she never got those invoices... Except one of the things you left off, is on the same invoice you added something that wasn't relevant to the claim. Sharp thinking.... Why don't I send you a copy of a dictionary and you can look up the word FRAUD, and Willful Neglegence, and assess that for me.. And while you're at it, explain this to me.... Per my policy...."Things we don't cover: A) Any article listed or specifically described in this or any other insurance. B) Fish or Birds."

My sailboat would be covered or its engines. My tractor more than likely too. And my Grandmother rascal scooter. See my adjuster gave me 3 reasons why I would be denied. Last being "because I don't have to kick start it, and it runs under its own power." What? Truth is you have to pass all the really important stuff in the front have of the policy to get to the boring details. Well they don't cover "motorized vehicles or motorized land conveyances" The boat is all good, and the tractor, and grandma's rascal. But not my scooter. And all the stuff they are trying to shove into my hand, none of that, according to the policy is covered. But they are. Just not my scooter.

I have already written the California Department of Insurance, The BBB, and nowhere. And I'm researching the heck out of this so when I take Progressive and Homesite to small claims for 10,000, for deceptive business practices, breach of contract, and fraud, I hope the court awards triple damages for me having to deal with this whole nightmare. And I can't find an attorney to even look at my case.

Weeks later the majority of my neighbors are getting new roof replacements but my claim was denied after I had the worst damage. Had the claim reopened due to reaching out to the BBB but still denied weeks later out of spite that I reported their horrible service, workers and adjusters. DO NOT. I REPEAT. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are by far the worst company ever. Oh not to mention after 2 denials my policy went up 400 dollars to renew. I quickly canceled.

Original Review: As a first time home buyer I purchased a policy with Progressive Homesite due to the fact that I had auto insurance with them so it would be easier to go with the bundle deal. I purchased everything to cover my home in the event of a natural disaster. May 2021 my sub division was hit heavily by a hail and windstorm in which I was over covered. I submitted my claim and that's when I realized what type of company I was dealing with. They sent out an unexperienced adjuster who was on my 4000sq ft roof for under 3 mins, he did no damage test or anything then he left, days later my claim was denied even though there were lots of pictures of the damage and shingles all over the ground. My roof is only 8 yrs old but they ruled it as wear and tear, unbelievable. I had to fight to get someone to come back out to do a reinspection in the midst of all my neighbors receiving new roofs from the storm.

The reinspection was just as bad as the first. Homesite is a very unprofessional company, the staff are rude and all they want is your money. They will never approve any claims after further research I've done. If you value your home and want a company that will protect your investment and provide you with the service that you pay DO NOT USE HOMESITE BY PROGRESSIVE or any third party insurance company. Beware and stay far away even if the price sounds low you will end up in a bad way if ever you endure a disaster. Please do not use this company, it's for your own good. They will sell you insurance, after a few days a home inspector takes pictures of your house from outside without your permission which is completely unethical and unprofessional. If they will find any small issue f which they feel might turn into a claim they will cancel your insurance and would take forever to refund you. Basically all they want is your money but don’t want to process any of the claims. For example our roof has 2 shingles missing and they want us to replace the whole roof in order to continue with the insurance. (I had the roof inspected by another home inspector and per report it was good for another 8-10 years). It is backed by progressive car insurance company. On March 23rd I received a call from my wife while I was at work. She stated that there was an extreme smell in that smelled like raw sewage. I immediately left work and came home. I went to the access point under the house but did not open the hatch due to raw sewage pressing against the entrance. At that point I knew for sure that we had raw sewage in the crawl space. I immediately got the family out of the house, including my 91 year old disabled father in law for safety. We went to nearest hotel and I initiated a claim to my home insurance company Homesite group Inc.

I called Homesite the next day and was told initially that they don’t cover pipes and then that my case was going to be transferred to another adjuster but I was told to do what I had to do to get the issue resolved and protect my family. The next day I contacted PDQ restorations to clean and sanitize the crawl space because I needed to get a Plummer in there to see what happened. Please note the crawl space is not dirt. It is cement. In order for PDQ to get to the crawl space with their equipment I had to create a whole in the floor. This was the only way they could gain entrance and bring in the equipment needed.

Over the next 24 house I was able to get 3 plumbers to look at the issue. 2 out of the 3 used cameras in the line to see what happened. All three told me that the line was broken under the house. I have a video of camera inspection from Mark Lindsay and Son, who ended up doing the job. I was told by all three the job would be 15-20k because the old pipe could not be saved as there is no way to excavated in a 12-18 inch crawl space without completely destroying the living room floor.

On March 26th, I called Homesite and spoke with Whitney ** who is the desk adjuster, she informed me once again that this incident is not covered. I begged her to send an adjuster out to the house to see what was happening before the repair. She stated she would try to send someone out. As far as the work, I went with the lowest bid which was 15k to have the problem resolved as soon as possible. The work was completed March 27th. The field Adjuster (I can get his name) did come to the house and crawled into the hole that I had to make for remediation of the issue. I asked him what he thought and he said he sees the work that is getting done and that he believe that this will be covered because it happened in the crawlspace of the house. He also stated that they should cover the damage to the floor. He said he would write it up in that way.

Starting the week of the 29th I starting collecting any information I could get. I also had get the whole in the floor fix as soon as possible as I have a 91 year old man living with us and this was an unsafe situation for him and everyone in the house. I had the floor repaired and flooring put over top as the hard wood was damaged and would have cost more to replace it with hardwood. So over the next few weeks until today April 28th, 2021, I have sent all of the documentation, invoices explanations from the plumbers. Permits from the town, anything and everything they could need. Multiple phone calls and e-mails were sent to Ms. **. Each time I spoke with her she said the claim is denied.

They closed the case today and said they were covering nothing because the house was not damaged. This is a ridiculous statement given the facts. Whitney ** stated that wear and tear on pipes is not covered. I told her that it very well could have been faulty workmanship which is covered. She stated that they will not cover the floor damage because there was no physical damage to the crawlspace. This is a ludicrous statement. I told her, the cement floor in the crawlspace was damaged from the unsafe bacteria and pathogens that were in the raw sewage. This is DAMAGE and the insurance company is obligated to cover this charge.

Here is breakdown of the expense this costing my family:

    1. 15 k for new line installation as old line could not be salvaged
    2. 5k for remediation and cleanup of raw sewage in the crawl space.
    3. 1k for plumbers camera examinations

    4. 1k for hotel rooms (2) for 5 people including a disabled 91 year old man.

    Total cost $22,000

My roof was aged but did not leak, all shingles were intact. A month after paying for the policy, I receive an email that "a new document has been posted to your policy". I log in and find out the "new document" is a cancellation notice - unless I provide evidence that my roof is replaced within 40 days my policy will be cancelled.

I received this notice in the middle of winter in Ohio, not exactly the best time to replace a roof. I get some roofers out for quotes and they all said there was no urgency in replacing the roof, but nonetheless I had it replaced. Homesite told me to submit documents to a generic CustomerService@homesite.com email. I submitted the documents and only received an automated response that someone will review the data and get back to me. Over a week later I still have no response and my policy is still shown as "cancelled." If this is how they handle communications I can't imagine they pay claims in a timely manner. I would advise anyone purchasing a "bundled" policy to check closely who actually is providing the insurance. I have found out that in some locales Homesite provides homeowner's insurance for GEICO as well as Progressive.

We have had Homesite by Progressive for 1.5 years now for our renters insurance. Everything was fine until we got engaged and wanted to add my engagement ring onto the policy. It took from September 19th-November 5th for the ring to be added. Once it was added, our policy went from $285 to $675 (which is steep, but not my main complaint). I had to continuously follow-up for an update each week. Every time I called I was given a different answer and told the classic "5-7 business days" and "I will personally call you back by the end of the day with an update" (which neither statements were ever true).

My rate initially increased $65, which I was like, Okay sweet no biggie. But then I called to get documentation that the ring had been added...no one could see where it had been added and would tell me "Oh, let me send it through right now and we will have it done quickly." To make this endless story short, this continued to happen up until November, but it was finally added on and I was so uncomfortable with them, I did not trust them or their process. If I hadn't diligently called every week multiple times a week, I would have paid the $65 dollars and thought I had insurance on my very special ring.

After all of this, I had the ring removed while I continued to search elsewhere for other insurers. (Not to mention I only had one day to pay the rate increase because of how long they took adding the piece). When I called to cancel, I was told I had to pay $11 for the temporary change in my policy (which was NOT insuring the ring at all, just an increase in the personal property value). They had told me that this was required and could not be waived. This was all their fault, but they refused to own their mistake and would not even attempt to make things right.

Their customer service stinks. While all of the people were kind, I would not recommend them to anyone: the process was scary, untrustworthy, expensive and sketchy. I could only imagine the nightmare it would have been to make a claim with them. Instead, I did lots of digging and ended up going with Zillion online (who was very quick, responsive and accurate) and had my ring insured within hours. I also switched my renters for a third of the price to my local Allstate. I hope this review helps someone out there.

He kept meticulous track of receipts compared to the loss spreadsheet provided by our insurance adjuster. When we replaced items my husband would email the receipts with their line item information they had provided. My husband basically did all the work for the adjuster. Yet, every time it would take a month or more to get a payment and it would never be for the correct amount. They also would only pay us full replacement value AFTER we replaced everything in an item category. We pay full replacement value, why not just cut a check for the estimated full replacement costs right away?

Luckily we could afford the be reimbursed after the fact. We estimated $10,000 when the flood happened and offered to take that. If they would have just paid us then they would have saved themselves a lot of time and money. Homesite has horrible hail and wind damage coverage which I just realized when I had to file a claim this year. First, they raised my deductible from $1k to $2500 at the beginning of the year and then I learned, after filing a claim, that any damage done to any part of the house that does not result in total "destruction beyond its intended use", it's not covered. Hail damage to my gutters, downspouts and aluminum wrapping around doors and windows - NOT covered because rain can still flow into the gutters and all the dings on everything - too bad because it's still serving its intended purpose. WHAT?

The reason for buying insurance is to cover losses one might incur. I incurred lots of damage and loss of value to my newly installed gutters, downspouts, door and window wrappings and they're telling me - Oh well? I don't buy car insurance, get in a wreck and have my auto insurance agent tell me "Can you still drive it?" Well then, it's still serving its intended purpose so we're not covering it. Window cracked? Can you still see out of it? Well, then it's still serving its intended purpose. Take heed - these guys are crooks and have written their policies in such a way as to really stick it to the homeowner. There's a reason their pricing falls below their competitors - they don't cover the things most others do.

I submitted a claim after a pipe under my garage separated. The first time I spoke with my assigned adjuster (and in the first 5 minutes of conversation) she was pushing to obtain the name and number of the plumber who did the work in my house. When I couldn't provide it she wanted the name and number of the builder. It was frustrating to see how little they cared about me and my family and were only concerned with how they could recover their expenses. The adjuster was constantly unavailable, didn't return calls or reply to emails, and didn't follow up with me when something was needed. Homesite denied the garage portion of my claim based on "earth movement".

I submitted a request to re-open the claim which explained that there were no signs of "earth movement" anywhere in the house and a letter from a licensed plumber, who has been in the business for over 25 years, stating that he was 100% positive earth movement was not the cause. He was fairly certain the pipe had been hit by/with something heavy, as was a licensed contractor I spoke with. Homesite refused to re-open and review the claim. The second portion of the claim was for damage in the unfinished basement. The overflow valve in the basement sprayed urine/fecal matter on the walls, floor, and water tanks and seeped into the sump pump hole (and through the pump). I was astounded when Homesite denied that portion of the claim stating that there was no "damage". I couldn't believe that anyone in their right mind would think it's acceptable to live with fecal matter on the walls and floor!

At this point I called a lawyer and had to pay a $2,000 retainer. The lawyer submitted another request to re-open the claim stating the EXACT same things I had in my request. He added information regarding the denial for the basement, which hadn't yet been denied when I submitted mine. Within 24 hours of receiving the lawyers request the claim had been re-opened, approved, and paid. It is truly appalling when an organization does not act in good faith. Had they honestly believed the claim should not have been covered we would have entered into a legal battle. Further, if I had not had enough for the lawyer's retainer the claim would have remained closed. It should have NEVER required legal intervention to force Homesite to comply with the terms of their own insurance policy!

This company gave me a quote that was fair and I chose to go with them. They came out, checked my building and then doubled their price saying, "It's a block building. That makes it higher." I myself think this sounds crazy but the worst part is I told them in the beginning that it was a block building. I also paid 2 months in advance when starting the policy so now one month into this they are telling me they are going to cancel the policy due to nonpayment and that the advance was for the first and last payment. I could see that if thats what was said to me from the beginning but once again it wasnt. I have been hung up on, told to go with a different company, told they wont do anything about this situation but they will make sure they dont do this to anyone else. What good does it do me if they dont do this to anyone else. I have only been with them for one month and have dealt with nothing but issues out of them.

After getting a quote that was very reasonable I signed up for a homeowners policy. After the inspection I received a list for roof repair, painting wood portion of house (brick home so not entire house), and to replace a side porch that had already been removed and had a contractor agreement in process. I was given 30 days to complete repairs. I decided to replace the entire roof rather than repair it and this was finished in 2 weeks. The paint was in process and porch not yet finished when COVID-19 emergency occurred and I was told there would be delays in getting work finished in 30 days. Progressive gave me a specific phone number to contact Homesite and Progressive told me Homesite is giving extensions due to delays or issues related to COVID-19 emergency.

I called and asked for a 30 day extension from the cancellation date due to COVID-19 emergency. I provided proof that the roof replacement is finished, and can provide contracts for the other work. The Homesite representative answering this number lectured me that everyone is being affected right now and they have a business to run. After a lengthy conversation trying to get me to give up on the request, she finally told me underwriting would make a decision.

A week later and there is no response and I am 1 day from cancellation. I contacted Progressive and they were able to confirm that Homesite is going to let it cancel with no follow up to my phone conversation with Homesite's customer service line. The Progressive representative was trying to be helpful, but they cannot control what their partner Homesite does. But apparently Homesite is giving some but not all customers extensions due to the COVID-19 emergency. I feel that as this puts me in a stressful situation right now, I might actually be lucky that I have discovered what this company is like up front. If they cannot grant a reasonable request for an extension during a public health emergency, I can't imagine what it must be like to file a claim with them.

Insured our new home through Homesite Insurance. We were burglarized within a few days of us moving in, and I could not be more disappointed in how Homesite handled the situation. After deprecation and a large deductible, they only covered ~60% of our losses. After using the service for its intended purpose (replacing stolen and damaged goods), they have decided to kick us off the insurance for making a claim within 60 days of our policy starting. Homesite's parent company had over 10 billion in revenue in 2018. Hundreds of millions of dollars in profit. And they kicked us off the insurance we had already paid for because we used the service we bought. They have made a very stressful situation worse. I have switched providers and am paying hundreds of dollars more per year for the same coverage. Well worth it to get away from this predatory company. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

I have been a loyal customer of Progressive for years and have now learned that there's no value for that. We recently bought a second home, a condo, and chose progressive Homesite believing it would consolidate our insurances and make it hassle-free. They gave us a quote, which was good, and we bought it. A month later I review the policy and turns out we weren't given a welcome home discount, which we are entitled to, since we bought a new home. The person who handled our insurance the first time never asked if we purchased the house.

Called them and turns out they "can't" change the policy for some reason to give us that discount. More like they "won't." There was no attempt to help us out whatsoever, either from the person I spoke to or her supervisor. And this is simply a one-time discount--as the home cannot be considered a new purchase next year.

Truly upset with this lack of respect for long term customers and the nickel and diming. DO NOT advertise a discount if you're not actually willing to provide it to your customers, especially those with a long history with the company. Will be seeking insurance quotes elsewhere and transitioning shortly for all of our cars and both homes. It's not just about the money, it's about the attitude I received. I expect to be treated more respectfully as a customer.

Once again It did NOT show up.

This is the worst Customer Service I have come across. Keep the information I’m sharing in mind when choosing your Homeowners Ins. If they take 3-weeks + to refund your money they had no problem taking from your account how long would it take them to settle a claim. I am VERY dissatisfied with this company and would highly discourage anyone from signing with them. If they won’t refund the money they took from you they surely won’t want to pay out on a claim. Explained to homesite multiple times that we had paid off all our debt about 15 years ago so my credit report is empty (no negatives stuff on it either). They were completely rude and basically told me they were not going to investigate the problem with the "third party" they use for insurance scoring, that this was the offer so take it or leave it. We left it and got insurance through another company for less than my original policy with homesite.

Filed a complaint with the insurance commission about the bad faith policy they have of penalizing people that are debt free, it must be doing something because because I got a call from them the day after my policy expired asking what they can do to fix the problem. I ignored the call but kept the voicemail. If the state commission agrees that Homesite violated Maine insurance law Title 24 (as it clearly has) I will request the highest fine applicable and then consult an attorney about filing a bad faith tort lawsuit. At that time we were told that we had until December 14th to have the roof replaced, or else my insurance would be canceled! I immediately contacted roofing companies to get bids as well as my bank to get a home equity loan but knew that the chances of getting the roof replaced within the 30 days would be nearly impossible so I contacted the insurance company to see if I could get an extension.

I was told that they couldn't offer an extension past the 14th but I would be eligible to have the insurance reinstated once the work was completed. So in the meantime, my house would be uninsured! Luckily through begging, pleading and crying, my roof is being replaced on Saturday but it's a good thing that I am fortunate to have a boss who is lending me the money to have it replaced because oh yeah - my bank couldn't process my loan because my insurance was being canceled! If Homesite hadn't waited over a month to notify me that the roof needed to be replaced, this process could have been much smoother and less stressful, but I guess communication isn't their strong suit.

Having made a big claim we couldn't switch at a good rate right away so we stuck with them. Recently we had a problem that we called them with and this has to be one of the worst insurance companies. Their reaction to every call is to try to figure out how to justify not covering you.

Ask to speak with the people who work with the insurance contracts and they will not let you. Ask to speak to a supervisor and you get transferred to a different agent. I got two different answers regarding coverage in my contract with no one willing to commit to whether the contract excluded or extended coverage for the repair. After calling them nearly a dozen times over the past few days trying to get them to give me a straight answer on whether the repair I needed was covered by my contract or not, I have given up and am paying out of pocket for the repair and shopping for a different company. My name is Amanda ** and I been dealing with a claim since April 19th, 2019 with Progressive Homesite/Wardlaw Claims. The way my claim has been handled has been extremely unacceptable and I have been extremely easy going and have jumped through every hoop that they have made me for the last 6 months, yet we are still getting absolutely no where. I have exhausted all of my options and have even spoke to a lawyer regarding if I should pursue legal action. I thought that maybe taking it up with the main company may resolve something before escalating it to that and dragging it out for who knows how many more months.

We had a third party who was sent by the insurance company come out and evaluate our loss. They 100% agreed with my contractor’s evaluation and from there estimated our losses to be around $24,000. We thought everything was on the right track, but what should have been a 6-8 week fix has now been put on hold yet again by the insurance company.

Our previous adjuster, Wayne **, told us that there would be no problem getting the extra damage found during construction covered through the supplemental funds process. We had multiple conversations regarding this matter over the phone. I wanted to be sure we were taking every right step. The extra loss involves our carpeting being not salvageable. Our original estimate was to “replace all carpet padding” and to “remove and relay the existing carpet” after “cleaning and deodorizing” it. Our contractor deemed the carpet unusable due to not being able to remove the water staining and it becoming delaminated.

Our case has been reassigned to a new adjuster, Christopher **, and we feel that this decision has not been handled the way it should have. Firstly, it has taken over a month now to hear anything back. When we finally did hear something back it was to tell us that they would not approve the supplement damage funds even though Wayne ** gave us the ok to finish tearing out and getting rid of the affected carpet. So now we are left with no flooring and no money to replace it. I requested that they search for these conversations between Mr. ** and I since it is on a recorded line, but all of a sudden they cannot find that these conversations existed.

My contractor has now put a halt on doing any other work whatsoever, so we are getting absolutely no where. I have a 10 month old and we have been out of our house for 6 months now. Our claim has been handled so poorly in every single way and we just want to be back in our home. It is completely unacceptable that 6 months after our claim was submitted we have still not reached any kind of agreement with homesite.

They are the worst. No way to escalate an issue either by calling and no emails listed on website. Water Heater burst on reported on 5/21/19. Servpro initially came in but then stopped because they needed to speak with Homesite. Homesite did not call them until I sent a threatening email and there was a week delay causing additional damage. They did not schedule a field adjuster to come out for 20 days from date of claim and they came 22 days from date of claim.

24 days after claim is filed, they have not completed the claim, house is open up to the garage, will not pay for us to stay somewhere else as they claim garage is livable space. No customer service at all. When the adjuster was out he stated he would have everything to them that afternoon. They claimed he had not done that. Filed a claim with TDI as they are required to settle within 15 days of my giving them all information unless they send written notification that they need additional time.

I have renters insurance through Homesite and when I got engaged I immediately contacted them to add my ring to my insurance coverage. The man on the phone was very helpful and told me to email them a copy of my appraisal. I was told it would take 2 business days to review. Well, 9 business days later, and one phone call to inquire about it, it still hasn't been added to my policy. I have emailed several times and haven't gotten a response and the last person on the phone I spoke with was very unhelpful. So, I called this morning, and cancelled my entire policy. I've switched to another insurance provider for my renter's insurance AND got my ring insured with no delay.

They owed me a refund check for a house I sold in 4/2018. When I noticed I called them in early April 2019 for the refund, I gave them my new address and documents to show I sold the prior house. After a few weeks of waiting and no check I called and it turns out they sent it to the old address. They said they'd put a stop to the check and reissue me a new one. I waited a few more weeks and still no check. I called back to find out they never reissued my check at all. Since they repeatedly made mistakes I asked that they overnight it and they refused. Two weeks later and I still have no check. I called them back for the 5th time and was told it was sent out two days ago (11 days after the last call and almost two months after the first call). God willing, hopefully I'll get it soon.

I had an electrical fire in March 2019. The fire was small but very hot and it smoldered which left the entire house unlivable. Homesite provided a company called ALE (also known as Onsite Temporary Housing). After promising a large trailer with one bedroom and plenty of living space, I ended up receiving a two bedroom with living space of 8' x 14'. This provides 112 sq. ft. of living space for 2 people for an estimated 8 to 10 months of rebuilding my home. The trailer was delivered filthy with items left from the prior users (it's in the lease agreement that I will pay $350 to have the trailer cleaned when I'm done using it).

I contacted my adjuster at Homesite and explained the problem. Now he's refusing to call me back. Several phone messages and emails and still no response. Call the general number and you get the "The supervisor is busy. I can transfer you to his voice mail." Do yourself a favor and work with a local company. If you have an issue at least you can walk into an office and speak directly to a person.

We purchased Homesite Insurance through Geico as first time homebuyers a few years ago. Never had to file a claim until our retaining wall collapsed. It’s a 2 tier elevated wall and the upper level came down, bottom layer solid as a rock. 20k to replace 95 feet of upper retaining wall and 28k of coverage per my policy. My adjuster tells me through email flood damage at the base isn’t covered. There never was a flood, base of the wall is solid. How would a flood affect the upper level and not the base. Asked to escalate and it was never raised above my adjuster. Now I had to retain a lawyer and file suit. Only email response, “My supervisor will reach out to you directly.” Been over a week, never happened. My lawyer reviewed my policy and the damage (he’s a civil insurance expert) and finds no reason they can deny coverage. It’s just a stall tactic designed to force people without means to quit and pay for it themselves. Horrible they would do this.

And the only way to get that is to send in receipts where we replaced the pool and the dog house. Didn't say anything about the fence or tree removal. The fence is only worth 30$. I had a small electrical fire in my basement which created more damage than I would’ve expected. I called Homesite immediately after the firefighters had left, and the rep’s first question was if my family and I were all ok. Very nice touch during a stressful time. We put in a claim after a couple of days, and they released the payment within 24 hours. Very speedy service! I’m very happy with Homesite and plan on keeping them as my insurance company for a long time to come.

We purchased a renter's policy when we moved in February. Unfortunately, we also suffered a theft 3 weeks later (fortunately, the stolen items were recovered). I spoke with a claims adjuster, she was super pleasant and helpful, and after going over everything, we decided it was best to withdraw the claim. The deductible was more than the value of the stolen items. Ok, no problem, I was reassured the claim was withdrawn, wouldn't go against me or the policy and all was good.

Well, until 2 weeks later I received a letter stating my policy was being cancelled for submitting a claim during the underwriting term. I called, spoke with a very clueless young woman who repeated the same line over and over, "well, I can email this to my claim team and they'll have a decision made in 1 to 3 business days." I never heard from anyone. I called again, no response. I called again, no response.

Meanwhile, I'm being told "don't worry because we will work it out." So today, they cancelled my entire policy and claim they reimbursed me for the policy that I paid for in full. I DID NOT receive ANY reimbursement and now have to wait until Monday to call back AGAIN for some letter, should they choose to clear the claim that never was. AND IF THEN, it is approved they MIGHT reinstate my policy, that I have to pay for again, ONCE I RECEIVE SAID LETTER. Or, I can take the letter and go get insurance elsewhere.

So, in the meantime, we ARE NOT INSURED and could face being evicted if we don't get a new policy in 2 weeks. But I'm told they work quickly (insert eyes rolling). I only went with Homesite because I was offered a discount through ESurance. Lesson learned, do better research and just pay extra for a policy through a REAL insurance company.

I was told on 3/14/2019 that my claim had been handed over to pricing for my estimate. It takes about a week, well it's 4/4/2019 and pricing still hasn't sent over my estimate. Code for another way to get out of paying me for my stolen items. Not to mention countless emails I sent to my adjuster which received no response. Multiple calls where I was placed on hold or transferred to inactive phone line and being disconnected.

This whole process has been a nightmare, I really don't understand how they are still in business, or why hasn't anyone started a class action lawsuit against them. I, like most other reviewers, thought bundling less expensive car insurance with homeowners would provide a discount. My policy was $2600 a month on a $165K house. On January 11 I canceled my policy and switched to a much more reasonable company. Knowing I had an escrow analysis in March, I figured this would give them more than enough time to issue a refund.

On February 11, I emailed inquiring as to the status of my refund and received no response. On March 14 I called and inquired again. I was told that they would, “See what they could do and call me back.” After not receiving a callback I followed up the next day and told, “The check is in the mail.” It’s now March 29. I still have not received my refund and my mortgage company has completed the escrow analysis, resulting in an increase of $300 a month. To say I’m pissed doesn’t begin to cover it. Starting to think no check was ever sent and this will likely end up requiring legal intervention.

I insured my home with Homesite and had coverage for eight years without a claim. We bought another home 5 years ago and insured it also. Last month we had a terrible wind storm come thru and devastated our roof. The roof replacement was upwards of $20,000. This is the first claim ever with the company after paying 12 years of premiums. Homesite sent a settlement statement to me stating they would only cover the actual cash value of the roof if it is over 10 years old. They were going to depreciate the roof and not allow me to recover the depreciation due to the fact the roof was 11-12 years old.

The roof is going to cost me well over $10,000 out of pocket with their deductible and their "depreciation". When I asked to see the depreciation schedule to review how they calculated over $6000 in depreciation, the customer service agent stated they could not provide me with that information. I asked them three times to help me understand why they would charge me $6000 for a roof replacement that was only 1-2 years past the "no depreciation" timeline. The answer was "it is what it is". They have no control over the depreciation. I wish I had never insured with them. I have never had such poor coverage and service from any Insurance company in life.

I received a letter from our mortgage providers saying we might not have enough coverage for the home, but our policy has a base value plus an additional 50 percent of coverage.

I contacted Homesite and Ray actually called the bank for me and conferenced us all together so he could verify our home's actual value. The bank said their estimate was based on the outstanding mortgage principal which is absurd because the cost of a rebuild is far lower than that. I told them I received a county assessment that they should be using instead. Ray then went ahead and faxed the bank a detailed estimate that was even lower than what the county had provided. He also emailed me a copy for my records. Fantastic customer service that I have not encountered before in the home owner space.

They verified that and said, "You had it and in 2016 we dropped it because you didn’t send in a certificate of centralized monitoring." I informed that I’d never been contacted about that requirement nor was it mentioned in my yearly reviews with them - in 2015 it was renewed without that requirement and that I will send them that certificate plus paid invoices for centralized alarm so they can retroactively apply that.

They refused to do so and after complaining to a supervisor they were quite clear that losing me as a client and Progressive losing me as a client for other policies based on these shady business practices didn’t bother them one bit. It's literally impossible, let alone unreasonable. Also, I recently had a thorough home inspection that said nothing of the sort. Then they tell me that they'll issue a PARTIAL refund if I switch policies?!? This is on December 19th. So they keep money, screw me over over the holidays, and then they tell me they'll need at least a month to issue the refund?!? So they get a month to write a check, and I get two weeks to replace my entire roof, and paint my house. Super cool. I'm cancelling my car insurance with Progressive now too.

NEVER NEVER NEVER get Homesite Insurance (they are underwriters for Progressive and Geico and I’m sure others). They are the biggest scam artists and ** out there. My garage was broken into back in November, two of my welders, and my tools were taken. Well I pay to have my items replaced at new replacement cost even though I bought a lot of them used. After waiting for their pricing team to complete the new cost for replacement they came back with a total of $50,680.57 with depreciation of $3,251.72 leaving the amount at $47,428.85 and I have a deductible of $500 so subtract that and I’m left with a grand total of $46,928.85. My insurance policy was only written for $25,000 which is way lower than what my grand total came to with pricing, depreciation, and deductible so I should be receiving a check for $25,000 to help replace some of my stolen items.

Well after almost a month my adjuster comes to me with a settlement offer of $2,500 and said that in my insurance policy I have a $2,500 limit when it comes to business items. I told her those are my personal items not used for my job and she replies with, “You work at Roush Fenway Racing where your tools are used on a regular basis.” I told her, “No my tools are provided at work. I On occasion take in a set of wrenches and a Socket Set to help with my job.” So I said, “Fine I’ll prove to you that my tools are not used here at work” so I went to my HR Director and had her write me a certified letter stating none of my personal tools are used at my job that everything I use is provided by Roush Fenway and I sent them that letter for her supervisor to review.

Well long story short they are giving me the runaround and complete ** excuses saying they need receipts and all when I followed the instructions I was giving when I first opened the policy which was to take pictures and document all of your property. When I sent in my contents I attached a photo with each individual item that I listed that was stolen. Well needless to say they have now pushed it off another day to review the pictures and items again. It’s a damn shame you pay for coverage for times like this when stuff unexpectedly happens then they want to do everything they can not to cover you or pay for your items. I do not trust this company and when all of this is said and done I will be canceling my policy. I mean really $46,928.85 in loss and they want to give me $2,500 hahaha. Yeah right.

They will be talking to a lawyer unless they straighten this mess out and treat me fairly like the customer I am and for the coverage I pay for every month. I’ve already spoken to a lawyer and I’m ready and prepared to go that route if need be. I guess we will find out tomorrow on this matter either they pay me what I’m owed and it is what it is or they offer me the ** settlement they offered me and I will reply with, “You will be hearing from my lawyer” and I’ll sue them for the full amount of $46,928.85 in which they will try and settle with me before court and will end up paying more in the long run. I won’t roll over and get screwed by an insurance company with 90 percent of the people paying. Don’t ever use it and they are rolling in the millions and millions of free money being paid in each month from customers that never have a claim.

Here we are supposed to trust and feel safe with insurance but in all honesty I feel like I’m getting scammed, used, taken advantage of, lied to, jerked around, and treated like the pile of dog ** they stepped in. It’s a shame and honestly ridiculous... Spoke with Lanette ** today December 6 at around 3 or 3:15 and she instructed me all they would be able to offer me is the $2500 they originally offered me and in her mind they shouldn’t give me that but they had already offered it. She stated that they wouldn’t accept my photos of my items because they couldn’t accept a picture of a picture. She also said that even though I had a certified letter from my job stating I didn’t use any of my personal belongings here at work all of my tools and welders still fell under the business limit in which I called ** on because I don’t own or run a business, I have no tax ID, and I use none of my tools at my job.

She also tried to call me a liar by saying that I work in an environment around Tools and I could have took pictures of tools at work in which I responded that is the most rude, disrespectful, and stupidest thing I have ever freaking heard. All they are trying to do is get out of paying me the money owed to me for the coverage I pay for every month. The whole staff is disrespectful, liars, and **. I’m now waiting for their big boss to contact me Mr Mike **. I will give him the opportunity to make this right and treat me fair before I give my lawyer the green light to file a civil litigation against Homesite Insurance for the full lump sum of $50,680.57.

I have had it with these con artists and I’m willing to go to whatever measure I have to ensure I’m treated fairly and I receive the money I am owed based on the insurance coverage I have. I trusted in them to only get spit on in my face. This company is a joke and I’m prepared and willing to fight them as long and as hard as I have to... Mr ** called me this morning 12/10/2018 at around 9:30am. We chatted back and forth to where I told him everything that’s been going on as well as Robin and Lanette trying to place my things under a business limit when I do not own or run a business nor do I use any of my tools at my job. He told me he would be reviewing the claim and would provide me an update tomorrow 12-11-2018. He said hopefully we will be able to finish things up and get me fully covered and I told him I hope so too or I would just allow my lawyer to finish the rest so I will get treated fairly.

I also told him I had my lawyer working in this the entire time and if for some reason we didn’t reach an agreement I would just give them the thumbs up to handle everything the legal way. Now we wait for a call back by Mr ** tomorrow... Well I receive a call today stating my claim has now been denied in full because I’m one of my 60 some item list I uploaded a photo of the picture that I had of my item. It wasn’t a very good picture as you could only see the name of the item and all so I uploaded a picture from Google to show what the item looked like.

I tried to call in yesterday to let them know the one picture was mine and the other was of one that was like mine and like always you can’t get in touch with anyone. Then today I’m told that my claim has been denied due to fraud. I immediately went off and told her Homesite was a joke and ridiculous and that they would be hearing from my lawyer... Talked to my lawyer. We are filing a complaint against Homesite to the North Carolina Department Of Insurance, if nothing is resolved with that we will be filing a lawsuit against this crooked, scam, and joke of a company... STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY.
