Filed a complaint with the DMV, no insurance company should be able to charge for something you didn't get. The insurance company did nothing to make it right.

It's my opinion to charge poor people the max amount on broker's fees is a rip off. There should be some kind of law against big business putting business before compassion. I'm a single father of two small kids. During this pandemic hardship I was swindled in paying more in broker's fees than actual car insurance. The supervisor I complained to stated poor or no compassion has no place in business. I didn't care about paying broker's fee but max was applied to me 30-215 dollars. I would be cool paying a hundred but the max for a single father during this pandemic. WOW Shame on you FREEWAY.

They asked, we provided bank statements proving those charges happened, which we provided. 2 weeks later we call to get an update on our refund. The agent looks up our information, confirms bank statements have been provided and we’ll be issued a refund in probably a couple weeks. Things are backed off because of the coronavirus, understandable.

Today we receive a phone call informing all we’ll be issued is $10. Of course we’re not happy with that so out of the pure kindness of their hearts they offer us $50 to resolve the issue. I attempt to call them back to come up with a more practical number and I’m given the run around literally for hours to the point it was almost (almost) laughable, I ended up in a freeway insurance out of Washington (I’m in CA).

Finally I get the top boss, supervisor Gabriel. He’s out of the corporate office, so I’m told. He assured me, "I’m the last form of communication and that the manager doesn’t take calls". I explained to him the situation and he told me, "Sounds like you’re declining my $50 offer from earlier". I told him, "No, I’m not declining your offer but you have to understand I’m trying to get back as much as I can for of my refund and I don’t see how $50 is justifiable to the $323 owed". He told me it should be $10 but out of the kindness of his heart he’s bumping it up to $50! I asked who he was and he was and that’s when he told me he was the supervisor, Gabriel. I asked if could speak to a manager and he told me no, then proceeded to tell me since I’m asking for the manager I must be wanting to decline his $50 offer, then he told me he could just transfer to me to another supervisor and I could get nothing. Feeling defeated, I hung up.

Well they do give the lowest prices no arguing there. But when I paid on Feb. 25th 2020, my agent, Jessica **, told me my downpayment would cover me the first 30 days then afterwards it'll be so and so a month.. I got my policy in the mail to find out my down payment which was doubled my actual monthly payment did not cover me 30 days but only 15. With concerns, I call customer service and ask to speak to a supervisor. Mauricio, who answered asked for the policy number and such and so no problem. But when he asked what the problem was, I told him it's personal info and between the supervisor and me.

He then told me he won't transfer me until I tell him. Knowing my right to speak to a supervisor, whose product I just paid for, without having to give him my personal information, I told him I'm not tell him and to transfer me. He told me no, not until I answer him. Being a little worried, I asked who for his first and last name and employee number and he said he's not telling me until I tell him my social, name, number and address. Right then I hung up.

I called back to speak to someone else and asked him to transfer me to a supervisor or to drop my policy immediately just for him to hang up on me. So now I have negative effects on my credit because no one would simply let me talk to a supervisor, I have late payments because I have to start paying 15 days after instead of a whole month like being told. So I sent an email to the CEO Joseph Waked a few days ago and to this day, still nothing.

Please don't waste your time with this company. It is the absolute worse. They wrote my policy with a company called United Auto Insurance Agency on September 9, 2019. Every since that day I have been trying to get the information on my policy complete. It is now October 31st and it is still not taken care of. I started getting letters each every other day saying things like they needed this or that. I gave signed and gave photos of my car when I set the policy up but yet they couldn't find it. So they were threatening to cancel the policy for lack of information.

So, finally Maria who wrote my figured out that I was missing a page. I signed it and she assumed me that was it. Everything was taken care of. Well no, now they claim I needed a declaration page from my previous carrier, so that cancelled my discount which increased my payments by $53. Mind you, I had absolutely no clue about any of that. My bank acct only had the amount of my normal deduction available. So, they cancelled the policy. I was hot! This company is trash. When you call customer service they send you to 3 or 4 ppl to explain the same stuff to. You can never reach the local offices. I am so done with this company! I do not recommend them at all. Please stay away from this company! They will wheel you in and make you feel like they are amazing. Well, the lies were too good to be true. It's a large deposit that they require you to pay (like 460 in my case). When I questioned what it was for, the representative told me it would cover my 1st and last installment on a 12 month policy, and the fees come out of the balance. They wanted 230 on one payment and 230 on another. My payments would have only been 167. So I figured it made sense to pay a little over 100 for fees.

They say they allow you a few weeks to pay the second portion, so we set up a date. Well, prior to my date, a different rep called threatening to sue me for the second half if I did not pay that day (even after I told him it was set up for the 1st of the following month). He said he does not see any notes. He was rude and said I would be cancelled without giving him my information. I was livid. Already being a victim of these hideous crimes, I was not falling victim again. But this is the icing on the cake!!! I called Infinity and they told me that the second payment did not cover any insurance payments. They stated that those are fees for freeway. I have never in my life paid over 300 to begin a policy, and if that was ever a quote, I would have not accepted the insurance! So I allowed them to cancel and went with State Farm for 220 to begin my policy (that included my payment) and 202 a month!

Then I call to cancel and spoke to some guy named Gil who thought it was funny that I've been jerked around. As of today 10/10/2019, I've spoken to him twice and I'm positive he needs to go back to training. The first time I spoke to him, he told me that in order to cancel I will need to send a written request and the dealership needs to send an "on wire" letter corresponding what I said. Then tells me that the insurance company will reach out to me in a few days about the refund. Naturally, I refused to submit a handwritten anything because they didn't need a signature or anything to take my money.

So I called back and spoke with Robert. He seemed like he understood what was going on and to be honest, he is the only one that has legit helped!!! He provided me with the information I needed, which consequently included a handwritten letter, but it was received. I called the following day to check the status of the refund and spoke to a Jose who advised that I have a turn around time of 72 hours. Fast forward to today. Still have not received my refund. Spoke to Gil again, for him to put me on hold and allegedly contact the insurance company. He advised that they told him I need to wait another 5 business days.

I'm livid. I called the insurance company and spoke with a supervisor named Kim who advised that Freeway NEVER SENT IN THE CANCELLATION REQUEST!!!! So all the calls to them and them putting me on hold to obtain the status were just lies!! The best part of this story is I still have not gotten my $312.00 back and according to Kim, they can only mail a paper check and that may take another 2 weeks!!! I will never use this service again. On 8/23/2019 I called different insurance companies to get quotes for a car I just bought. I decided to go with Freeway insurance because they had a pretty good quote. I was originally quoted around $140 to start services and my payments would be $41 per month. After calling to set up my policy I was told I could pay $120 that day and I would have to pay an additional $200 and that would go towards my bill. I agreed and told them I would have to wait till I got off work to deposit the money in the bank. I told him to call me back when he took the payment which he never did. I called him back around 4:30 and asked why he didn't call me before taking the payment and he just said he was sorry, not okay. I told them I would schedule the other payment for a later date when I got paid.

On 9/19/19, I ended up getting a policy cancellation notice in the mail. It was too late to call them regarding this matter so I had to wait until 9/20. Freeway insurance took the $200 out of my account on 9/20/19. Now I'm out $320 dollars which is just about half my pay for the month and I will no longer have insurance. On 9/20/19 I called Freeway insurance first thing in the morning at 8:30 when they opened to stop the payment and figure out what was going on. The guy I spoke with said sorry for the misunderstanding the $200 goes to the insurance company and I needed to contact them about the $200.. which didn't make sense because Freeway insurance took the payment.

I called the insurance company National General and they said they haven't received anything from me and they know nothing about $200. They told me I needed to call Freeway Insurance and my policy would be cancelled if I didn't pay them $57.. including late fees. So I called back Freeway insurance and they still acted like they didn't have a clue about the $200, I told them I do not give them authorization to take the payment, then all of a sudden came out and said they are brokers fees and "oh well, the payment has already been taken out." No one ever told me about brokers fees.

I got frustrated and called my bank and they confirmed Freeway insurance took out $200. I called back Freeway to cancel my services because of how I had just been scammed, they said they will send a form but they can't refund my money. $320 later, no insurance, now problems with the DMV... I can't afford to get anything else at the moment… and on top of all that it hasn't even been the full month! I tried to put a stop payment but the transaction is currently pending and they said they can't do that and I had to wait until it's posted. I'm beyond upset. On 9/26 at 4:03 I received a call from the Freeway insurance retainment office. I explained the whole thing all over again because the guy said there were no notes on my account, he was just given my number to call and try to save. He was apologetic but still wasn't able to help me or get me a refund.

The woman I spoke to told me that in order to cancel the policy, all I would have to pay was a $20 cancellation fee and that I would also be refunded $50. The day after that, I get a call from Freeway's collections department saying I owed a total of $299. They couldn't explain why the woman told me I would only have to pay $20 or why my payoff amount on my online account said $0. All they kept saying was that I owed a $150 broker fee plus an additional $149 down payment, which I think is ridiculous for a service I didn't even end up using, and I honestly wouldn't have had an issue paying it if everyone would have been upfront about everything from the get go. I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing through Freeway. They called me asking the basic questions. I was on the phone forever. They never stated they were an agency and charged fees. The rep. came back with a price way cheaper than what I’ve been getting online, so it sounds like a deal. They said it was through Progressive. I proceed to give my financial information. She said it’ll be x amount of dollars, okay cool no problem cause it’s going towards my insurance.

Wrong. $105 of that went toward agency fees and the other half hasn’t been taking out my account yet but may be on hold. When I found that out, I called to have the policy canceled. To my surprise, no answer. I called and called and by the time they answered, I was over the top. He claimed they were super busy and apologized blah blah blah. I was connected back to the lady who sold me the policy explained I wanted to cancel, so she connected me to management.

It get fun here. Oh he started fast talking me saying it makes no sense to cancel since I paid a months worth already. Just use the month and then cancel. After saying no a thousand times, he still was at it, proceeded to say the agents work hard to find insurance blah blah blah so the agency fee is none refundable. And then they already emailed out the paperwork, which I signed none of it. Now they added my refund application to the list of emails papers I didn’t sign, so I asked them to email that paperwork separate. Of course no response yet.

Hi... When I signed up for this Ins the customer service was quick and helpful, I signed up with a lovely agent (**). She was great in getting me a quote and I paid over the ph and she sent me my ID cards and all her reachable info, She said when it was time for my payment I can call her and we can do it over the phone. So at that time, I called. No Ans, so I left a message NA, then I called at different times of the day. No answer, left messages, no return call, emailed, no return emails, at one time the call rolled over to another office at Military (Mitchell). She was really nice. I asked how come the office on Austin High never answered. She says the office is always open.

So I called the 8884434662 Customer Service #. The Rep that answered was unprofessional and rude, So at the end of the call she asked If there was anything else I needed help with I said, "Yes; you need to be more nicer to your customers," and I said, "You are very rude and impatience and had I have had an accident or something else had happen and that's why I would have been calling I would not want a Rep with your attitude helping me." So with a softer tone of voice, she said, "I'm sorry." I then told her I was originally thinking that I was going to get a quote for my other 5 veh's, However with their manner of assisting customers, Them, not answering the phone calls or emails I'm definitely sure I do not want to stay on with Freeway Ins.

So I made my way to 1533 Austin Highway, spoke to Mrs. ** and put in my cancellation. Shortest time I was ever with an Ins Co. 16 Days Only. What one needs in an Ins Co is for the least: Great Customer Service, Prompt Assistance, ESPECIALLY in the event of an accident, Then again their having employment depends on Customers and their Satisfaction, Hence Training and Assessments, To Better Serve Customers.

Save yourself a lot of money, time, and despair. Do not ever purchase Freeway insurance. They are the most dishonest, unethical, crooks I've ever done business with. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get your business, and know just how to word it to cover their ** legally. I asked if they charged to add on or delete a vehicle because that was a deal breaker for me. And I was informed by the nice agent on the phone. "Oh no. We will not ever charge you for adding a vehicle." They go through on the internet while you're on the phone. All their 100s of forms to sign your life away so fast you don't know what hit you, this is where all the hidden fees are.

Well needless to say first time I tried to add a vehicle at the office of our Hemet location, I was informed there is a $100 fee, later I found out that this is an broker fee not adding a vehicle fee. This is how they can lie about it, and legally get away with it. So I then tried to cancel this insurance policy, which turned into a nightmare, I went into the office and thought I covered all my bases (put in writing, dated for the 1st and reason why,). Agent faxed it over while I sat there to confirm. Then I find out they never cancelled me on the first and waited to cancel me until the end of the month for no payment. I even emailed a copy to them stating to cancel me as of the 1st because I requested due to their misleading me and they still would not cancel me as of my request.

Even after trying to call multiple times and speak with supervisor etc... no one would listen or help me. I was in tears. So I decided to make a complaint to the department of insurance with my complaint. And finally after that they decided to cancel me per my request by the requested date. And proceeded to charge me a cancelation fee of $ 70.00 after paying broker fee to start the policy and only having their insurance for two months. So buyer beware and if you decide to get your insurance through them God help you. I would love to see a class action against this deceitful, dishonest, horrible company. Hopefully if enough people get took it will happen.

I purchased Insurance with Windhaven through Freeway Insurance. I provided proof of prior insurance and was told my discounted rate will be $260 per month. After almost 3 months I realized they were charging my card over $510 per month. I called Windhaven and they stated Freeway never sent them proof of prior insurance and that is why I was charged $510 per month. Windhaven stated it is too late for me to receive my previous quote and placed a conference call to Freeway. Freeway asked them to cover the mistake made by Freeway and Windhaven said no and canceled my policy. Freeway filed a complaint for me because it was proven that I provided my previous insurance proof prior to purchasing this new quote and it was a mistake on their behalf and they owe me the overpayment amount.

I received a refund offer of only $100 instead of the total owed of $750 when the math is done based on being overcharged for the past 3 months. I kept asking to speak to someone else, all of then admitted it was Freeway's mistake, but the most I was offered to be refunded is $300, which I refused to accept because then I would be agreeing by taking that amount versus what is owed. I was told that someone will contact me next week with their final amount they will pay for their mistake. Each person offered a different amount of refund and someone who stated she was the Manager said they will not refund anything and I should have noticed in the beginning. I'll find out next week what they're going to actually pay me.

Yesterday he called to remind that I owed him still. So I said I'll try to make it over to pay him. I unfortunately was unable to make it there.

As far as Freeway insurance I highly recommend that this gentleman, and I use the term gentleman loosely. Is either fired or give him a business ethic course along with a basic guideline of what proper customer service is supposed to be like. As for me I recommend that you stay away from this place. So in one month I needed to pay 175+240 or whatever your insurance amount is added with the 175 in. Guess what. It does not stop there. I received a bill in the mail for my first installment fee about a week later stating that my first bill was due as of January 25, 2018. Needless to say I was pissed. They did not honor what they originally quoted me. What is the purpose of recording the phone conversation if the broker/agent is not going to be held accountable. I paid $150 for 22 days of insurance as opposed to 30. Had this been conveyed to me initially, I wouldnt have had a problem, but I don't like being deceived.

I tried contacting customer service and after being placed on hold for more than 20 minutes the agent finally picked up and after explaining my grievance the call was disconnected and there was no attempt for them to call me back. I had to contact them again and wait again for someone to pick up only to be told that there is nothing that can be done about the mix up. Extremely frustrating. I will never do business with them or any of their affiliates (such as Infinity) and would not recommend their services to a friend or loved one. When she called them and spent 6 hours on the phone, they told her that the agent has put a "good driver" discount in and then upon review, they took it off.

Did the agent do this just to get the $350.00 non-refundable agent fee, knowing that it wouldn't stick? Also, the insurance company (Dairyland Insurance) obviously accepted the policy presented from the agent, why would they do if they didn't plan on honoring the contract. After using this agency for one month I had an unsettling feeling regarding their professionalism and I sensed some shady business practices. I decided to call around for new insurance quotes and switched my car insurance before the second insurance payment was due. After setting up a new insurance policy with a different company and canceling my existing policy with Freeway I made a trip to my local motor vehicle department to notify them of my new insurance policy just to make sure that they had my new policy information on record so I didn't receive an insurance laps for my cancelation with Freeway.

To my (not so) surprise, the clerk at the motor vehicle department told me that my car was never insured, and the insurance ID card that I had received from Freeway were fraudulent. In a nutshell... I paid $198.00 for a car insurance policy that never existed and drove my car for 30 days with no insurance! I also had to pay my local DMV $310.00 to avoid getting my license suspended for having plates to a uninsured vehicle.

I immediately called Mercury insurance company because that was the company that I was insured through via Freeway, and a Mercury representative told me that they had no record of me on file and the policy number that I gave them was for a different vehicle. Five days later I got a letter from Western General saying that my premium was going to be raised to $398 because my husband didn't have enough driving experience. I call my broker right away and he promised to get my a new policy with a new insurance. Whenever I call he would say that he was looking for a better rate. After a week he never called me back. Before the month was over I cancel Western General only to be told that I still owe $200 for cancellation fee. All this happened during a month period. I called customer service for a refund and was hung up twice. Later I found out that the broker lie about our driving record just to get me to sign with them. Overall, I was out almost $900 for one month coverage.. SCAM, WORST NIGHTMARE..

I heard about this company and heard about their "amazing" deals, so I decided to give it a try and save some money. For the first few days, I didn't worry, until I told my daughter to look for reviews online. When she told me about this website, and how she found many bad reviews, I immediately called to cancel my policy. Of course this company doesn't refund, so I knew I wasn't going to get back my first payment. I was only a few days in. I thought "okay, it's canceled. It's done".

A few days later, I check my bank account to find they charged me an extra $20 without my consent. It didn't even come up on my bank charges with their company name. I called them and they said I had accepted this fee. The worker I talked to then said he would have someone call me. No one ever called. A few days later I find another fee! $150! I call them and they had NO excuse to why I was charged!

Not only that, but he then says my policy is still active! I called the next day to get this sorted out, just for them to IGNORE every call. Turns out my policy number wasn't even for my car, the number that was on the bill was not even their actual telephone number! This company can't be trusted! Super unprofessional and rude. If you have a similar incident I advise you call your bank and have it sorted out. I called, and was refunded my money.

The short version of my Department of Insurance complaint: My Freeway Auto Insurance broker falsified my application and mislead me into an agreed premium only to receive a billing statement with my premium nearly doubled. Among many things, I had to constantly “phone chase” my broker with several calls in a day until he decided to respond to me. Freeway Auto Insurance is a fraud that scams their customers by reeling them in with an attractive deal only to significantly up-charge your premium without legitimate cause or notice, after the fact you have already paid a large sum that is “non-refundable”. Don’t waste your time and money. Do your research online and you’ll find countless poor reviews and consumer complaints. Pay a little more for a legitimate company.

The full version of my Department of Insurance complaint: On 06/01/16, I contacted Freeway Auto Insurance and was transferred to a broker named Manir ** (nickname “Mike). After I provided accurate information from my driving record, Manir quoted me $136.78 for the monthly premium of a 12-month auto insurance policy with Stonewood Insurance. I agreed to the $136.78 premium and completed the application online and paid $330.61; $20 "processing fee" and $310.61 "initial payment”. More than two weeks passed and I still had not received any insurance documents in the mail. On 06/16/16, I accessed my account on Stonewoodinsurance.com to check the status of my insurance and found a billing notice dated 06/14/16 for $191.78. I called Stonewood Insurance customer service and spoke with Heather about why I have a bill for $191.78. Heather said that my premium was adjusted because of my driving record.

I told Heather I had already provided all information of my driving record to Manir at the time of application and was quoted a $136.78 premium based off of that record. I went through the entire application process, signed all documents, and paid all fees for that agreed premium. I was not notified in any way (call, email, or notice in the mail) from my insurance provider for the change to my policy. Heather said I was notified yet she did not provide any proof in her records/database of any contact initiated with me. She also made the statement “You gave fraudulent information and lied on your application.” I said it’s not possible to “lie” or provide “fraudulent information” on the electronic application when not only is it already pre-filled by the insurance agent (Manir) but also that I am only able to select “Yes”, “No”, “Accept”, “Reject”, or “I Agree”. On top of that, my driving record and Clue Report can be easily accessed.

I was very unsatisfied with Heather’s poor customer service from her unprofessional comments and attitude. I called Manir several times and each time he said “I’m busy with a customer” yet he would answer each call I made with the same introductory statement “Thank you for calling Freeway Insurance. This is Mike” which demonstrates that he was not “busy with a customer”. After several attempts, he finally decided to talk with me and said he will call Heather tomorrow morning (06/17/16) and call me before 10:00 AM.

The next morning, it was already past noon and he still didn’t call so I called him and he said that the Clue Report was not run when my application was made for my insurance policy. Manir is the individual who created the application and should have ran the Clue Report, yet he placed blame on the insurance company (Stonewood Insurance) for not having run a Clue Report. Regardless, running my Clue Report should not have changed my premium when I had already provided accurate information about my driving record to Manir. He offered to provide me a policy with a different insurance provider and emailed a new application.

I noticed several inaccurate fields, including mileage, years of prior insurance, odometer reading, usage of vehicle, and so on. Manir refused to make changes to the application with his reason being that “it won’t make a difference to insurance” and that I can provide documents to my insurance about that later. I did not want to continue and agree to an application with inaccurate information, without a clear written statement that a Clue Report was already run, and with the new provider (Infinity Insurance) having countless consumer complaints on record. Also, my insurance sales agent, Manir **, was dishonest regarding the premium and claimed that a Clue Report was run for the first application (with the $136.78 premium) when it was not run and that my premium was adjusted immediately because of Manir not fulfilling that responsibility.

To conclude, I paid $330.61 without having any insurance documentation sent to me for weeks, my broker was dishonest and misled me with false information, customer service was unprofessional and disrespectful, and I was billed in just a few days of starting my policy with a premium that nearly doubled without any proper notification, consent, or agreement to the change. I will not continue services with an unprofessional company that is conducting fraudulent behavior and making efforts to scam their customer by promising a set premium amount only to significantly increase that almost immediately after policy initiation without proper written agreement.

I purchased insurance for two of my vehicles. One newly bought, through the phone and completed the paperwork online. I was charged $400+ of broker's fee without even being informed of it. I did ask the guy why was it so high, he just told me, "That's how much you'll have to pay to install the insurance." There was no "broker's fee" in this while processing the paperwork. While on the phone and completing the rest of the paperwork at the same time, he told me, "I've already gone ahead and completed some of those information for you, you just have to click agree." Of course, I read over those portions before clicking agree. At the end, I questioned the cost of $600+ for auto insurance and was given the response earlier. Needing insurance to drive my newly bought car home, I paid the price.

Later on as I printed the emailed documents and read them, I learned that I was cheated and lied to. I was never given the broker's fee information document online but was given the broker's fee agreement page. Reading further, I realized that the agent had put in initials for me, however, those initials were not my initials. I have one extra initial when I initial documents. So I called customer service a few days later and was given a case number, waited a few days (was told that upper management would get back to me within 24-48 hours), heard nothing, called back and was told that they would call me again. So I finally called back, maybe a week later, and was told that it says on my record that I told them that everything was okay and fine. I never said that!

I told them that I would be waiting for upper management to call me back regarding the high broker's fee I paid that I did not know about. So, the agent told me that he will put it on my file and email it to his manager and the manager will call me back at 3pm once he returns from lunch. I waited, yet nothing and it's been over a month since I've heard from them and I don't think I'll ever hear from them because they just want to cheat, steal, and lie to their customers and that's exactly what they did to me!!! I've canceled all my policies through them and am now happily insured with Triple AAA. Never!!! Never go through Freeway Auto Insurance, they'll only lie, cheat, and steal from you!!!

I think people should be aware that insurance isn't what it use to be and as many offices they may have and operating in multiple states they use their name to bait you in with their "resources". Upper management sucks in this company and from what the employee said to me, they have to meet goals or they'll get fired. It's unfortunate that employees have to do shady things in order to keep their job but that fact of the matter is very simple. If you want customers then don't rob them and stop forcing your employees to sell us things where they need to lie about it in the client's face. I called today to cancel my policy through them because a $200 deposit was out of my price range and they told me I had to come into the office to cancel it.

I go down to cancel it, they refused to give me the $80 back, and told me they're going to send me a bill for the remaining $120 deposit. I was there less than 24 hours. So I have previously had got an insurance policy with this company for less than a month, and they did not inform me of the payment of $200 that was owed to them? I had paid the first 2 weeks but then had to cancel my policy due to financial troubles. They then sent me a letter saying that I have to pay them $200 or I will be reported for fraud? I had got a letter from Freeway Insurance saying that I will be reported to their fraud department, but I had did nothing of this sort? I am really worried that this is a scam of some sort and would like to know what I can do? Since my policy was cancelled and I had got a letter from them for it, why do they still want money from me? Someone please shed some light on this situation?

I had received a quote and the price was good so 2 weeks ago I decided to continue and get the insurance. However, I decided to call it in and I had originally paid $114 for the down payment and Cassandra, the sales rep said that I owed an additional $40 for the down payment which she could extend for 2 weeks and that wouldn't be a problem! So I went ahead, paid the $114 and got the insurance started right away! Then I have been receiving calls from another # so I called The company back the number they have they don't answer and on their voice mail they have a person name is not home!!! Why would they have this type of greeting for a business?? So I called Cassandra back today and she tells me she will transfer me to Lucio. Come to find out it was more than $40 that I had to pay for the down payment!

When I called Cassandra she said that all I owed was $40 and then she transferred me to supposedly the accounting department and comes to find out it was the collections department! I ended up having to pay $50 rather than $40! Lucio from the collections department said that if I would have kept my card on file a late fee wouldn't have been applied and all this other stuff!!! Cassandra never even mentioned that at all! I do not recommend this company as all the prices may seem right but not worth it when you can't trust the people they have working for that company!!! Biggest regret ever!!!

The agents are very unprofessional and so are the corporate phone agents from Empower. I never received any form of policy information nor did I receive a bill. I received a cancellation notice stating my policy was canceled 2 days after they had already cancelled my policy. The tried to make me pay an additional $200+ to start a new policy. The prices are not as advertised. This company should be contacted by the BBB because I'm sure they will find more shady business involved.

My experience was the agent Chris ** dragged me into his scam. Said my policy will be about 600$ to open it but according to him and his manager they lowered my rate to about 200$. I opened my policy through Freeway Insurance on 08/03/14. I asked of my payments are every 3rd. He said yes. I asked again and he confirmed yes. FYI, 100$ monthly.

So later on the 23rd of August, I received a letter from insurance saying I owe past payment and fees are 10$ so now I'm stuck with 110$. I called Freeway to ask what's happening. Agent ** said, "Sorry, that's just how that insurance works." I told them "But why didn't your agent Chris ** told me this ahead of time?" The agent was rude. I told him I will put a complain and he said in Spanish, "Wow really a complain? Well how is that going to help you?" I said it will prevent it from happening again and maybe get agents that are trained better in insurance... He said "It's not gonna help you" and then asked if I need anything else. I said no thank you and he just said ok bye and clicked. Never will I recommend this ** people. Worst experience ever... Hopefully Freeway Insurance gets taken down soon... Thanks for reading.

Since I originally asked for liability insurance so I could drive my car (seems obvious), I had to get in touch with them to try to change it. 12 emails, 10 phone calls, and hours wasted later, they finally corrected the policy at which point they mailed me insurance cards for the incorrect policy. When I first talked to them, the agent said we could do payments for the rest of the start up cost. Instead, they tried to charge the amount to my credit card - which my card rejected.

I found out about this because they sent a letter two days after it didn't go through telling me they were sending it to collections already. Freeway agents are just hungry to make a commission off selling insurance to you. In the end, they wanted $177 for all of their ridiculous fees on top of monthly payments. Never again. Don't give your money to a broker - buy directly from insurance companies. I was looking for a cheaper insurance online & came across Freeway Insurance. I called and asked for a quote. I didn't realize that they were just lazy people on the phone looking online for another insurance for you. I found them by looking on the internet; I didn't need to call them and have them look more!

So, they told me one thing on the phone and charged a ridiculous introduction fee. They may charge you as much as they want, but they don't tell you that part. So they found me a cheap insurance. I signed up and realized that the coverage was horrible! I ended up going to Farmers which was way cheaper and had the coverage I needed. I went to cancel with Freeway the very next day, and they keep your introduction fee which isn't right. I told them I found it cheaper with more coverage and they told me "No, that coverage isn't out there." Yet clearly it was, because I found it & signed up with them & I absolutely love it.

Do not go to these lazy bums. You are paying them to search the web for your 7 they can't even find the best deal. I found a way better deal on my own & I have learned my lesson. I hope this helps at least one person to not sign up with them! They don't know what they're doing, and Freeway Insurance itself isn't the insurance. They just look for expensive deals for you but quote you the cheapest lowest coverage they can find. The price sounds good but pay attention to the coverage because it is not good. And do not agree to the introduction fee because they say the highest price first to scare you then offer $100 off which sounds like they are being nice. But really, they are charging you $300 more than you should be charged.

We had been with Freeway Insurance for more than seven years and we never had any problems until recently. We needed to make some changes on our policy due to we're no longer in possession of our vehicles, plus we want a lower rating to save more money since we did not qualify for multiple car discounts. We had already made payment with one existing policy and were finishing off on that. In order to make the change to roll over to new policy, we had postdated the new policy and its effective date to begin on Dec. 16th. The changes took place on November 16th. A young agent assured us that everything was in place and the effective date will take effect on Dec.16.

Lo and behold, they had submitted and cashed the check on Nov. 20th. We were very furious because that had put our banking transactions in the negative. They were not supposed to submit until Dec. 16th! We had to go back to local office a few times to get it straightened out. Of course, as you know, no one wants to take the blame for the wrongdoings. We were going back and forth between the local and the corporate and demanded the fund including the overdraft back that they owe. It took some time before they refunded us our money back on Nov. 27.

Again, we were told that they will correct the damages that had been done and said again, "Everything should be fine." The effective date is December 16th. Then again, we were hit with another mishap from them and the new insurance company that we were to be switching with. They had sent a new premium policy package and new payment statement sheet. On their policy, it showed effective date was November 24! What the **. I had received this notice on Dec. 11th and it stated payment was due in two days! Our first initial payment is not due with them until January 2013! Now you know, we are just getting heated with hotness and madness.

Unfortunately, I made a call to local, corporate and new insurance company and each had all the wrong effective dates. One was right and two was wrong. I had to let them know they have to be on same page, same date and everything. They were playing around with money and important documents and they needed to get it straight. It took them 3 days to get that cleared. I was a fire, gas and flame behind all their **! I was not playing. I let them know they were not going to get that check until that date arrived since I now had the control of them not accidentally submitting my check early.

I am assuming that everything was definitely in the clear since I last spoke with the supervisor of Freeway Corporate by the name of Marcy who stated that the 1st check was nulled and voided and that they will be contacting Multi-State (new insurance) regarding effective date. That was on Dec. 14th. Then on Dec. 18th, newbie agent called and stated she needed me to return to local office to re-do the paperwork. That thing was working my nerves but I kept my cool. They got it done. No sooner than I've gotten home after 25 minutes of a drive coming in from the garage, this thing called me back and asked for me to return because she needed to take a picture of the vehicle. She had already taken the pictures back in November when we were making the changes.

I am dealing with a toddler who has a cold. I had already been at the office from 4:45 -7 pm. I needed to prep dinner for the family. I dreaded it and I understood why they need it done. I went right back out the same route I came. The newbie girl is not there, so another guy came out to take the pictures. He was nice to take on my calmly vented self. I let them know that they were getting on my damn nerves as my 12-year old said that was what I said exactly. And of course, in my mind, they needed to hear a whole lot more than that. Let's just hope they get it right this time because the next time, it won't be pretty!

I had purchased car insurance from Freeway Insurance on Adams and Figueroa. On the day I went in, I was rushed through the paperwork because the broker said she had to use the restroom. Later on my Visa card, I was debited $200, and when I called their corporate office, they then stated that my money would not be refunded. They had charged me for hidden broker fees that I was unaware of, being my first time buying car insurance. The broker did not discuss the broker fees which led to me lose $200. I was really hurt and disappointed with their service, and would like my money refunded.

I began shopping around for a new insurance policy and I kept hearing the commercials about how great Freeway Insurance is ($29.00/day and blah, blah, blah). I honestly was upset with my current insurance company because my monthly payments had gone up $30.00 due to renewing my policy. So, I called Freeway and ** answered. I asked for a quote and she transferred me to another agent who took down my DL number and all other personal information and then told me, "Oh, someone just pulled up. It might be a new customer. I have to call you back." I waited 2 hours (no call back). I called again and ** answered. I explained to her what happened. She stated she would be glad to help me. It’s the same thing: she took my DL number and personal information along with my second driver's info.

She asked me, "Is it okay if I run your MVR while we are on the phone?" I answered, "Yes, that's fine." She then says to me, "It looks like I can get you a monthly rate of $112.00 and if you bring 4 cans of food, I can discount you $100.00 off your deposit fee." I replied, "Awesome! So, how much is the deposit?" She said, "I don't have that information yet. Would you like to make an appointment for 7:15 pm tonight?" I said I get off at 6 pm and I'll go over right after work. I showed up at 6:20 pm and filled out the application. There are 3 girls in the office and one is helping customers already there before me (which is normal). The second girl takes my DL and makes copies and hands them to the first girl who already has customers and gets on the phone. The third girl (**) sits at the last desk doing nothing. My waiting time is 20-25 minutes.

I’m observing girl number 1 as I wait and the customers are not happy with her quote. I heard them say it was too high and she replies that it's a better company than what they currently have. They get up to leave and she said, “Wait. You have to sign this paper that states you don't want the policy,” and they leave after signing. So I'm up next I wait while number 1 chit chats with ** at the back desk. Finally, she said she can help me. I sat at her desk and explained my current situation. She began inputting my info and said to me, “I have to run this with my manager (**).” They talked and ** said to her, “You can do it - work your magic.” That’s a big sign of bad news. The girl comes back and says to me, "Your deposit will be $360.00 and since you brought the 4 cans of food, I can take off $100.00 and your monthly will be $180.00.” I told her no! I spoke with ** earlier today and she quoted me $112.00 monthly. The girl then goes and explains to ** what I said.

She comes to the desk and said, "I was the one who talked to you on the phone. What I told you was just an estimate. We still have to run your MVR." I replied, "You ran it while we were on the phone and you asked my permission to run it and I said yes." She said, “Well, I'm the manager and I don't do that over the phone, so I know you’re not telling the truth." My response: "I wrote down everything you told me and I would have not came in if I knew you were gonna charge me more than what I'm currently paying." She then said, "Well, there is more than one ** at this office." That really pissed me off. I asked for my paperwork back and girl number one then said, “Well, if you want you can pay the deposit in payments.” I told her, “No, I don't want to go through with any of it,” so she made me sign a paper stating I didn't want the policy. I got up ready to leave and I told her you can keep the can food. I was so upset I wasted so much time. This was the location on 40th Street and Thomas road in Phoenix, AZ. **, you have very poor customer service skills.

I used to work there. They tell you a price to get you to set up an appointment. When you get there, they add in a travel package, accidental death and dismemberment that they usually start at an additional $200.00 a year. They calculate it into your regular monthly payment so you won't notice because they quote a 12-month policy rather than a 6-month, which is what most have already. The salespeople are training to sell these packages because if they don't, they only make $10.00 per policy. If you go there, plan on spending around 2 hours. Their paperwork (approximately 30 pages) is a joke. You will constantly be interrupted by phone calls because they're too cheap to hire a minimum wage person to answer the phone.

I know jobs are hard to come by but this is a place you do not want to work for; they've already been fined $17,000.00 by the Department of Insurance for allowing unlicensed employees to sell their policies. I'm waiting for the state of Arizona to pounce on them again when they find out about the unethical selling of these travel packages. By the way, they pay the minimum $7.65 here in Arizona. If you do take the job, prepare yourself to be cold calling people that are sick of hearing from your office like one of the other people has already mentioned.

OK, I called Freeway to get a quote. Five different sales reps called me within one hour. Weird, but fine. I picked one sales rep. She was nice, honest and respectable. I came into the office (on 17th Street in Santa Ana). I was going to sign up with the policy when I noticed I had to be somewhere at 6. It was 5:50. I stood up, told the manager and the sales rep that I had to leave. Wow. Big mistake. The rat-faced, sun-burned looking office manager gave me attitude. To put it nicely, he questioned the fact that I had to be somewhere. When I asked him to give me my documents and my ID back, he would not. He said, "No, we have done all of this for you and now you are going to stay here and sign the paperwork."

I was shocked. I started crying because I could not believe that they were holding my paperwork hostage. I told the sales rep I would have gladly finished the process via email. That was not good enough for them. So, I was standing there and wanted my documents back. Another rude sales rep was telling me "Well, we're still going to charge your card." I almost lost it. I told them they could not charge my card without me signing anything. I felt like calling the police. The office manager started saying rude comments in the third person context like, "I just want her out of my office. Get this girl out of here, this is such a waste of time."

He kept telling me, "You have to sign a cancellation form, you can't leave. I can't give you your documents." Finally, I was handed my paperwork, but I was told I still have to sign a cancellation form. So, I returned to sit down and wait for my cancellation form. Then the sales rep said, "You can just go. It's okay, you don't have to sign anything." I almost lost it once again. The rat-faced, beady-eyed, redneck office manager was doing all of that to waste my time. What an immature and unprofessional person. I will never do business with this company because of his actions.

So I signed up with Freeway Insurance on 4/26/12. I was as happy as can be that I found and switched to Freeway Insurance. I spoke with Jeamy at the Westminister Freeway Insurance office. She got me all set up and told me that if anything, to contact her. So, it's all going well. Then, I got this letter in the mail stating that my payments would be $225 and that my monthly payment would always be on the 18th. But I signed up on the 26th. The 18th isn't even a month yet. So I called Jeamy, and she told me that she's going to talk to them and that she would call me the next day around 10am.

So the next day came, it's 10am, and I see no missed call or anything. So I called and they said, "She's busy right now. Give me your number, and she will get back with you." So I did that, and I received no calls back or anything. So I went down there and spoke with her, and she fixed it. This last time, I went yesterday, because they just took money out of my account. I called and they said she's not there. So I went down there after work, and she told me "Oh, we will have you switched to the other plan' that I and she had talked about to lower my payments. She said, "Let me talk to my boss, so we can get you switched and get you your money back asap (the money they took out)." So she said, "I will call you tomorrow. So expect my call."

So I waited and still received no calls all day, and they're open till 8. Even my friend called, and they said, "Sorry. Jeamy's at lunch. She's with a customer right now, but she will call you back." All these excuses, and their office is always dead, like nobody goes at all. Like this last time, I just called and someone answered. I said, "May I speak with Jeamy." The guy said, "Yeah, one moment please." Then he got back on the phone and said, "Actually, she's busy; but I can take a message." Like I honestly believe. She's ignoring me or trying to, because every time I go, she's all nice. But when I asked for one call back, I got nothing; and I'm already tired of it. That's not good customer service at all! I should take action and sue!

A few months ago, I purchased a Freeway Auto Insurance, which is by the way Safeway Auto Insurance. It cost me nearly $300 or even more to sign up with a ‘03 Impala with some decent monthly payments. But the issue here is that they are quick to take your money by constantly bombarding you with these questions, "Do you have a credit card? Do you have a checking account? Are you sure you don't have a checking account?”, although I have told them that I mentioned to the agent I didn't have one and that I will come back when I can pay the money. So then, they fed me this line, "Well, you have to do it today: pay like $175 now and within a few days pay $75 or $85."

So when I paid, they tried to within a day, and not a few days, withdraw the money. But before that could happen, I canceled my checking card for a new one and they sent me a letter in the mail so quickly about the failed transaction. But this was the first time I signed up and I paid, though I had no choice if I wanted change from the car lot's insurance, which is about $200 for a ‘03 dusty car, with peeled off paint and scratches on it. So now I went yesterday with a new car, a 2012, and all of a sudden I get hassled again this time from a new agent with the same questioning about paying with a checking account or debit card/credit card when I already have their insurance. And then after I told him I don't have either, he still insisted.

So he went in the office like for the third time talking to his manager about my situation with paying the same price I stated earlier for the ‘03 to pay for the 2012. So I said, "I will come back and pay the money on my payday." He said, "Sir, if you do not, I can't guarantee the same quote." So he left again and came back from talking to his manager behind closed doors and he told me if I pay $75 or even $50 or $30 today, and $180 to $200 something in a few days, then I can start up. Then he switched from saying the policy may change to, "I will wait and keep the premium and liability the same when you come back.” But during the whole time he spoke gibberish English trying to confuse, but had a very clear tone when it came to getting my money so quickly.

I think for 20 minutes he was trying so bad to make a sale and I asked him why I have to pay this much to add this car and he said, "You have to pay double for the first and last months." But something isn't right with the picture because I had a different agent and I have to pay that same amount for the ‘03. I am so confused. I know this may have confused someone who is reading because this whole entire process was to me. Sorry.

Horrible service and the people are liars, they play dirty and lie to make you come so they can sell a higher price insurance! I called for a quote and told the guy (Eliot) all about me, my cars and one ticket I have. He asked about how much I pay with Moreno's Insurance through Adriana's Insurance. I told him $98.59 and he said he and his manager will beat or match the price if I bring the policy agreement where it says that I pay that. So I went and then Eliot asked his manager. Rudely, the guy came to the desk where my family and I were and started by saying Adriana's was bad and they sell no rated insurance. He didn't even know how to justify. He could not match the price and that he could not stand by what they offered and promised to me.

At that point, he even got rude and upset when I said that I did not expect to get basically that because I do sales myself, but that I do deliver what I offer and that I expect people to do the same. But he got so angry and said he won't match it just because truly, he didn't have any pricing like that at all. I call that liars and unprofessional people!

Then I receive a letter from Infinity telling me that they were taking $100 out of my account. I was outraged and called another insurance company. They quoted me only $100 and no more. So I went to Freeway to cancel my policy. They said no and I couldn't get any money refunded and they said I still have to pay the $100. I'm on a fixed income and told them I just couldn't afford it. They said go to the other company and see what they are charging me, then I can cancel. I was only insured by them for 7 days.

I realize they are to get some money for their services and that’s fine, but not $200.00. I also looked at my payment plans and it states $39.88 for 11 months which totals to $438.68. My premium is for $353.00 plus $1.80, so there is another $85.68 of costs to whom? After I called corp. and explained what happened and they said no refund, I was really mad and hung up. I did tell them I was filing a complaint. About 10 minutes went by and she told me that they would be nice and take $50 off the $200. So it’s still $150.00 for 7 days. No way. The agent never explained anything to me and she did say I have 30 days to cancel.

I called again on Tuesday, 2/7/12, and I was told it was not the end of the day and that I would get a call back. The end of day arrived and I never got a call.

She placed me on hold and said I would get a call between 12-2pm. Mind you, they close at 4:30pm. At 2:07 pm, I called and Patricia told me the adjustor is Fong and she would transfer me. I thought I would finally speak to him. Instead, I got his voicemail. I kept calling for the next hour and I just got his voicemail. I called back and Patricia answered. I told her I want a supervisor. She transferred me and I got a voicemail that said it’s full and I cannot leave messages.

I called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I got one, Doug who says Fong is having trouble with his phone. Doug told me that Fong would return my call. Fong did call me and took the same statement I gave on Friday, and told me I would get a call from an inspector. Fong said once the car is in the shop, I can get a rental. Imagine my frustration I do not have a second car. I have been borrowing cars or getting rides to get by and this company takes their sweet time to honor my claim. They have been collecting my premium on time but have not been servicing me on time. This is very poor quality insurance. My car is not drivable and they could care less. This is definitely not a professional car insurance company.

I said it was too high I didn't have that, so she said we will make two payments.

She took the first payment. The next day, I went to AAA to pay my registration. They showed me that I was being overcharged. So I called to cancel. Freeway gave me the run around and said I could not cancel, that those were non-refundable broker fees. I told them I was not informed of that I have all of my paperwork. She says I signed a paper acknowledging it. I then asked for a copy and the agent said she would email it to me.

I informed them that I was letting my bank know not to honor any charges from Freeway. I wrote them a letter and faced it. On August 8, 2011, I went down to Freeway Insurance to cancel a policy on a vehicle of mine that was recently stolen. After canceling the policy, I asked the representative if he could give me a quote on a my truck which was previously insured by them earlier this year. After the representative quoted me a monthly payment ($5X.XX) and a down payment ($311.00), I informed the rep that all I wanted was a quote and that I did not have any money at the time to open a policy. The rep insisted that I get the policy because he said that the rates would soon go up.

I decided to get the policy and the rep informed me that he would debit both amounts at different times. One amount ($180) would be debited on 8/12/11 and the remaining amount ($131) would be debited on 8/22/11. The rep never told me I was signing a contract nor did he ever informed me that any of the amounts were non-refundable. The rep basically told me just to sign and date some documents. After an hour, I left Freeway Insurance with a "proof of insurance" certificate. On my way home, I looked at my certificate and noticed it had an effectivity start date of 8/12/11. The rep never once told me that my coverage would start on 8/12/11.

The next day (8/9/2011), I called the office and spoke to the same rep and informed him that I would like to cancel the policy and request a refund due to my truck not working. The rep informed me that it was impossible to cancel the policy and that I would not be issued a refund. I explained to the rep that my policy has not even been activated yet and will not be effective for another 4 days so there is no reason why I would not be able to cancel it. The rep assured me that it could not be done and that I was "stuck" with the policy. Having been a Freeway Insurance customer for 5 years, I felt betrayed and cheated. So after I got off the phone with the rep, I called their corporate office and spoke to a CSR. She informed me that only the Office Manager (Pat) could cancel the policy and issue me a refund.

I called the office back and spoke to the same rep and requested to speak to Pat. The rep informed me that she was not in the office and that I was wasting my time trying to reach her. The rep told me that she was going to tell me the same thing he has been telling me. After disconnecting the call, I called back and left a message with another rep for Pat (office manager) to return my call. Later that day 8/9/11 around 5:15PM, Pat returned my call and I explained the whole situation. I also informed her that the corporate office referred me to speak to her directly. Pat (office manager) informed me that she would cancel everything, however she would need me to come into the office to sign a cancellation statement. I informed Pat that I would stop by tomorrow (8/10/11) after work and sign the document. Pat informed me that she would be there waiting for me.

The next day (8/10/11), I stopped by Freeway Insurance and met with Pat (office manager). She had me sign a cancellation statement and informed me that everything would be canceled and she would like for me to return when I need insurance again. Pat also assured me that I would not be charged anything and that my debit transactions for 8/12/11 & 8/22/11 would be canceled right away. I thanked Pat and left the office. On 8/12/11, I was not charged anything and felt confident that everything was canceled. On 8/22/11, I went to my bank to withdraw some money to buy groceries and the teller informed me that the amount I was requesting was not available. After checking my check book, I knew there was some mistake. After checking my online account, I noticed that earlier that day Freeway Insurance debited a total of $131 from my account.

After leaving the bank, I went down to the Freeway Insurance office and asked to speak to Pat. I spoke to her and explained what had happened. She informed me that she canceled everything and that she didn't know what was going on. She also stated that I would be getting a call from the corporate office within 24-48 hours regarding a refund. I asked why this happened after she assured me that everything was okay and she stated that she didn't know. After leaving the office, I called corporate and they were already closed.

The next day (today 8/23/11), I called corporate and explained the situation. The CSR informed me that she would look into it and get back to me tomorrow. I explained to the CSR that I need my money back and that it was very important. Earlier today after speaking to the CSR, I received a call from another rep (Luis) and he informed me that I would only be refunded a total of $75 and that I still had a remaining balance of $180. I explained to the CSR that I was assured that everything was cancelled and he agreed that it wasn't fair to me that this was happening. CSR said he would forward the case to management and I would get a call later on.

As of 12pm today, I'm still waiting to hear from them. I feel that everyone is giving me the runaround and not giving me any results.

Jose ** explained us our monthly payment will be $250.11 and we need to give him a deposit from $630.04. This amount, which serious reduced of the total of the policy cost, and the first month, we paid $317.57. We called to know what it was and they said that was because the agent put two years management experience. When alone, the policy holder has a management record monthly, for which the agent altered this information and the consequences for us is that this $630.04 that we paid, we were told it's not to be returned because it's the agent's cost who did the deal.

They never explained us that the money was for him and neither a copy was given to us that those charges they were charging to us will be given to the agent Jose **. He told us lies and now, we cancelled the policy. But the important issue is that we lost $630.04 deposit and $317.57 for the first monthly payment. The total that we lost is $947.04 in one month. It happens when companies have bad workers and employees that are liars.

I went in to Freeway Insurance on Sept.1, 2011 to get auto insurance. I sat down with Luis ** who gave me a quote of $180 down payment and $60 to start the policy and asked if I have a credit card. I told him I did not have a credit card, only a prepaid card debit card which is for my daughter's disability use. He said that was fine, he just need it for his records. He agreed for me to make payments on the $180. My first payment will be on the 25th of September for $50, which I went in and paid with no problem.

Now on Oct.1, 2011, I went in to pay my monthly bill which was like $57. When I went in, I said I'm here to pay my bill. The lady at the desk asked me to sign in and have a seat. I did not sign in because there was no pen to sign in with so I just sat down. I think that ignore her so she had me sit and wait for a good 15 minutes just for me to give the money order to her. Then I asked her again if somebody can help me. There were three men just sitting in the back talking and a man outside smoking. They were so rude. Anyway, I left the store and went somewhere else to start another policy which started on Nov. 1, 2010. I cancelled Freeway.

I did not hear from them until the middle of October, wherein I told them I have insurance somewhere else because they were rude to me. On Jan.1, 2011, they debit my card without my permission for $130, which I would like be returned to me. The agreement was I pay on the $130. The card was not supposed to be used. So all together they took $240 from me for one month of insurance that's a scam to me because that was not the agreement. I'm a single mom. I can not afford to pay that and I would like my money back.I gave permission to debit my card for one dollar only.

To make a long story short, I canceled my old insurance for a new one, paid them out-of-pocket in full and my old insurance is sending me to collections. Freeway Insurance said that they would pay that cause I paid it, and still, they have not paid my old insurance. Abraham ** License no. ** has been saying, “Yes, yes, I paid it.” And then he sends me out to come back another time. This has been going on for about 2 weeks.

I met with Ms. B. to purchase auto insurance. When meeting with Ms. B., I explained that I would need road service and towing. Ms. B. assured me that if I provided her with an additional $40.00, I would be covered by AAA. As requested, I provided her with the $40.00 for AAA. This complaint is being submitted for me by my counselor because my primary language is Spanish. It should be noted that all of the documents provided to me were written in English. Ms. B. does not speak Spanish.

Several days after purchasing Freeway Insurance, I received in the mail a notice that I would need to pay AAA $49.00 a year. I traveled to the Freeway Office and requested a meeting with Ms. B. to discuss this matter. She said: "Just a few minutes" and did not come back to speak with me for more than 45 minutes and only after I asked to speak with her again. Ms. B. spent only a few seconds with me and stated that "I am in the middle of my work and you can speak with a Manager".

I sat down again and waited a few minutes and spoke with the Manager and was informed that they do not offer AAA. The manager spent just a few seconds with me and dismissed my charges that her associate, Ms. B. had taken $40.00 from me for what she stated was AAA. I was told there was nothing they could do and I was finally summoned into the office and thought my issues would be resolved. What they did was sent me into an office with a Spanish speaking individual who informed me that there is nothing they can do. It should be noted that I had been a customer for several years and in good faith had believed what I was told about the AAA insurance. The Spanish speaking employee stated: "I will go get my manager.”

A woman who identified herself as the Manager assured me that Ms. B. has worked with her for approximately 15 to 20 years and has never been accused of doing anything like this in the past. I started using a loud tone as she was dismissing me and informed me that I would need to pay an additional $80.00 for towing and road service. It should be noted that until I spoke with my counselor and discussed the problems associated with this company did I realize that they are charging a broker's fee of $202.40. The information in the contract is written in English and there was no one there to translate the information or provide me with a copy of these documents in Spanish.

I am a disabled man who has not worked since 2007 and feel much cheated by this company. I have six children, no job and a wife who does not work. The money I feel they stole from me is critically important to me and my family. Additionally, I was treated very disrespectfully and kept getting ignored and then finally handed over from person-to-person after extended periods of time. I am requesting that they terminate the contract. I have asked my bank to dispute the $520.00 that was placed on my credit card. I request a full refund as they misrepresented information, did not provide me with any services and, I believe are cheating those who are unable to read, write and speak English.

I purchased auto insurance from Freeway Insurance. Everything was fine until I received a letter through the mail stating that I owed the company a total of $154. The letter also stated that if I did not pay the amount, I would be sent to collections. I contacted the sales manager, Beatrice **, to inform her about the situation. She informed me that I signed a promissory note stating that I would pay the $154. However, I never signed any promissory note.

I went to her office to get a copy of the promissory note. To my surprise, the entire promissory note was forged. My initials and my handwriting was forged. I brought this to the attention of Beatrice ** and she also agreed that the promissory note was forged. She explained to me that the promissory must have been forged by one of her agents who had just quit. We also came to an agreement that I was not liable to pay the amount due to the forgery. She stated that she would contact her corporate offices and inform them of the situation.

A couple of weeks went by and I received another letter informing me that my case was now in collections and that the credit bureaus were being contacted in order to decrease my credit score. I contacted the corporate office and they informed me that they were no longer going to waive the amount on the promissory note. In fact, they told me that Beatrice ** claims she never acknowledged that the promissory note was forged.
