Hello - our trip was wonderful and very well planned out; however, I would say it would have been advantageous to reduce the number of tours for such a short time. It’s totally our fault for not knowing better, but we found everything was very crammed in. Our hotel in Porto was nice; however, the restaurant on site left us a very bad taste. It took 1/2 hr to get drinks; 2 hrs to get dinner and I had to ask 3 times for bread. We made our complaint and the hotel only apologized. I work for hospitality, and this was no way to treat your guest. The hotel should’ve compensated the drinks or dinner, but they did nothing. I will never return to that hotel nor will I ever recommend that hotel. Thank you. Julia

It has now been over 5 weeks since I filed a claim with Faye for CFAR reimbursement. I have emailed to find out the status of my claim with no response. I called and they told me I could not speak to the claims specialist, and they had no information on the status of my claim. They promise to process claims in 10-12 business days. Obviously this has not happened. I can only conclude that they don't want to pay my claim. I will not do business with them again.

My daughter needed to see Dr in Vienna for swelling due to a sprain. Pain was severe enough that she could not walk. Sent message to customer support explaining our situation. Within 30 minutes they sent list of Air Doctors in Vienna & instructed us to make appointment. Visit was pre paid by FAYE. Who does that? Highly recommend.

Both our outbound and inbound flights were cancelled and I had to make other flight arrangements. Upon our return, I submitted a claim to Faye which was efficiently and competently handled by Erica. Faye reimbursed us for all our expenses, and we are very pleased with Faye's service. Highly recommend Faye and will definitely use the company on our next trip.

Nobody wants to imagine something going wrong once in a lifetime trip to Machu Picchu. But here you are with salmonella and severe dehydration stuck in a hospital on an IV when you should be out with your daughter hiking through the jungle. Now you are terrified about how you will pay for the hospital bill! Imagine your surprise when you go to check out and find the bill already paid - by Faye!!! Isn’t that all you need to know?

I received rapid response to both email and telephone enquiries about my travel insurance policy, answering all my questions regarding coverage and the various medical options. After comparing other company offerings FAYE was by far the most economical policy I could find. The rapid response gave me great comfort when I departed overseas on my trip.

I bought travel insurance for an international trip I was taking. Unfortunately, we had cancelled flights leading to missed connections and delays. I couldn’t recommend this company enough. My trip was interrupted by a death in the family and we were traveling as a group. Not only was the money returned within the week after I submitted my claim but the claims specialist at Faye corrected a mathematical error I made which refunded more money than I requested. Excellent service and very reliable.

BUYER BEWARE!! My wife developed a serious sinus infection while traveling in Turkey. It took weeks to finally get an MRI approved. After the MRI, the Turkish Dr recommended surgery to alleviate the clogged sinus which would give her enough time to heal before traveling home in August. FAYE denied the surgery claim, and my wife is now still in Turkey with terrible sinus pressure & headaches. Still trying to get reimbursed for the money we laid out for the Dr appointments.

I find the app incredibly useful to use. I save a ton of money since we don't regularly need a second vehicle. When we do, I can easily access a vehicle near me. Plus, I get the opportunity to drive a variety of cars sometimes splurging on something nicer than I can afford to own.

Never had to use it but people who have liked it very much. Based on those reviews would use the coverage again. The paperwork and policy is very straightforward so it’s easy to read. The price is very competitive based on your rating, so there’s no reason why on our next trip in our future trips in the United States, and outside of the country will continue to use your service. As a frequent traveler, we feel at our age it’s most important to have insurance coverage, we don’t travel any place that’s doesn’t have decent medical insurance. If there’s a particular insurance coverage, we should need when we’re traveling to the channel Eilan, such as Sark and Guernsey in this coverage is not adequate then I would like to know if there’s additional insurance which we should take out.

If looking for travel insurance, especially for a cruise, check out Faye Insurance. I found them competitively price and better coverage than the cruise lines. Within 14 day purchase adds on pre-existing conditions at no extra charge. Easy to get pricing and customer service answered my questions. Good news, didn't have to use it.

Poor customer service and lied about insurance law to get me to buy more insurance. I had purchased my policy via their website and once more of the trip was booked reached out to update the insurance. They informed me that the updates could not be on the same policy. The law requires separate policies. They have to cancel my first one. I could not cancel the first without guaranteeing the original.
Purchase date would be honored because you must purchase insurance within 48 hours of the original travel booking. I was on another 48 hour deadline for the same as we had extended to trip with a new purchase. My goal was to extend the existing policy but Faye held firm it was illegal and a new policies were required. I went and purchased insurance through a different provider and asked Faye to complete the cancellation of the first as they insisted It was in violation of law to keep it. They now refused to cancel it! They said they were now conveniently willing to make a policy exception.
I reminded them they said the original coverage was illegal. How can they now use a policy exception to undo what they claimed was illegal. They held that because they were willing to offer me a policy exception that they could hold to refusing to cancel and refund my original plan. They lied about the law to get me to purchase a second plan and when they lost business over the strong arm attempt then refused to cancel like they said was originally required. Do not trust them!

Second time ordering trip/health insurance from Faye. Fortunately have not had to use them, but they kept us informed as to necessary steps if we needed their services. Price seems to be reasonable for the coverage of both trip cancellation and necessary health coverage. Will use them again for future out of country travels.

When we flew into Italy. It was a great experience, I look to do it again soon. The travel to the hotel was smooth. I did so many tours without a problem. The cities were fantastic. Again. I hope to do this again. I did the cooking tours and they were awesome.

I discovered Faye last year and my experience with them so far is very positive. I use their services 2 times, and I’m impressed from how fast they respond, and how much they care if you truly need assistance. I’ll keep using them definitely in the future. It was very difficult to find the way to give them this review, nowhere seems option but I’m happy I can say to them: Thank you Faye, hope more people find out about you asap. Getting Faye was a last minute decision but one that I’m so glad I made. About 3 weeks into my trip I got a cold that evolved into a bad cough that was making it hard to breathe. I messaged Faye through the app and they got me set up with a teledoc, set up with an in person doctor, treatment at the clinic, prescribed antibiotics and paid for it all before I even left the clinic. They also checked up on me several times after I originally got sick. This saved my trip and made me so happy to have Faye. I’ve already begun recommending to friends and will certainly use again!

Glade we didn’t need to use it. Wish you had a money back guarantee. If you don’t use the policy you would get half your money back. I would be inclined to buy it more often when we travel if you had a money back policy. Purchased it so we’d have medical insurance while out of the USA as our Medicare doesn’t cover us outside the USA.

We chose Faye after a lot of research for a trip in Oct 2023. Never dreaming we’d ever need to file a claim, wouldn’t you know we had problems getting home at the end of our trip? Our flight was late, the Heathrow shuttles were late and more, so we were denied access to our connecting flight home. This is when we were so glad we had Faye’s Delay of Trip insurance! After finally getting settled back home, I got in touch with Faye through their app. No matter who is on the other end, they are always ready to help and gave me all the information to start the claim process. (If anyone out there finds themselves in this situation, be aware that usually regular snapshots of your paperwork create files too big to successfully email. Instead get familiar with how to convert your photos into PDF files or use a scanner app on your device that will photograph your images and send them off with no problem. And just to be safe, you might want to mail (yes, regular mail) copies of everything to the home office as well.)
Faye finally had all our paperwork, with the exception of one item: the Verification of Flight Delay. This is a document that, just as it says, the airline must generate to confirm that the trip delay was their fault. I had to ask our airline for this document several times with no response, and was about to give up when I had the good fortune to begin correspondence with Erica at Faye. She inspired me to pursue “outside the box” avenues to get this document in my hands (this was holding up our whole claim). It took a lot of research, but without exaggeration, I had the Verification document 10 days after my last try! Fast forward just a couple weeks and Faye has paid our claim! Using their app, I transferred it to our bank in just a couple minutes. Thank you, Faye, for exceptional customer service and for standing behind your product!

My son and I traveled to Europe back in September of 2023. A few weeks into our trip, he came down with a nasty germ. We called Faye, and they immediately told us that we could have him seen online or we could go to whichever medical facility we chose. We ended up going to a nearby facility. He was put on several medications to battle his illness and after a week or so he finally recovered. Faye was there for us every step of the way. They even texted to ask how he was doing. They helped me to understand what documents were needed to process the claims. They worked with the hospital as well .
Erica (my claims specialist) Processed my claim quickly, she also explained the payments and what was covered. She is wonderful, and I appreciate how thorough she is. I will never go on a trip without having Faye. They are middle of the road on price, but so worth every penny. You may find cheaper, but I doubt you will find better. My claim took a little while to process, however. We were in a country that doesn't use English as a first language. Be patient, make sure to submit all documents needed, and I have zero doubts that you too will never regret purchasing Faye Travel Insurance.

In September, my son and I flew to England to hike the Coast to Coast Trail, a 192 mile trek over an 18 day period. Pretty much all things that could go wrong did. Although our flight from Denver was cancelled, we made it to England half a day late. Our luggage never arrived. No gear, no clothes. We resupplied bare necessities in Manchester and set out on our adventure. On the fifth or sixth hiking day I took a nasty tumble resulting in five ribs broken in several places. A helicopter rescue was followed by six days in a British hospital.
The remainder of our prepaid trek had to be abandoned. Fortunately I had purchased Faye Travel Insurance. (First time ever, I might add). We alerted Faye to our predicament and they said they would take care of everything. And they did. They went above and beyond all expectation. After release from the hospital, Faye sent a taxi to our hotel in Carlisle to ferry us to the Newcastle airport for a short hop to Heathrow. First class British Air seats (fully reclining) awaited us for a nonstop flight to Denver where my husband picked us up. The Rocky Mountains never looked so good!
Faye paid the cost of the flights home, they reimbursed the prepaid portion of our hike (B&Bs), they paid the hospital bill, and miscellaneous other inconveniences and delays we encountered. The best part of the experience in working through this with Faye was the care and attentiveness to our case. They were always available, responded quickly, returned calls, answered emails, offered encouraging words more than once. Erica **, a Senior Claims Specialist, handled our case and she really stuck by us. The claim settlement amount was paid to me in a timely fashion and I am very, very thankful. I have been spreading good words about Faye Travel Insurance to all my friends, extended family, book club, weaving guild, hiking buddies … everyone.

FAYE Insurance offered more coverage than the previous carrier I used! I insure all my trips! Better to be proactive than reactive. Several people were injured on our trip. Not sure if they had insurance. If I were to expire on my trip insurance covers my body to be flown back to my place e of residency. I just love that!

I returned from a trip in August in which all of my flights were disrupted in some manner and my luggage was lost for 10+ days. The communication with Faye has been incredibly slow. I’ve received contacts once every few weeks asking for additional information. The last I heard was more than 2 weeks ago that they were “finalizing my claim”. The process to purchase only took 5 minutes. However this claims process is so painful it’s likely not worth having the coverage at all. Note to Faye: Please invest in the staff required to provide the service you’re selling in a timely manner!

In August my wife and I went to Greece. I researched and decided to buy a Faye policy. We had a bag delayed 2 days. I sent in a claim with verification. Coming up on 2 months, numerous calls, no response.

The service is more expensive than what it really worth. Not recommend at all. There are more reasonable options out there. The customer service is also not the best and their wait time is long and difficult to get a hold of customer service. In general we were not satisfied.

I just came back from a 2 week trip to Italy. I purchased Faye travel insurance prior to my trip. The whole application process went very smoothly and I received my policy within an hour. Fortunately I did not need to use the trip insurance but just the peace of mind having it was well worth it.

Although I did not have to file a claim, thank goodness, it was nice knowing that I was fully prepared in case I needed insurance. In Alaska, we hiked, was on a cruise, had flights, and did a lot of sightseeing. We purchased CFAR, and was a good choice. I had to call once to ask a couple of questions prior to the trip and the girl was friendly and answered all my questions. I will use you again in the future.

I like the fact that I could click on options on how much to cover for specific items (such as lost luggage) and lower the cost. I was only interested in the medical coverage so was good to be able to eliminate items I did not care about and thus lower the cost.

Updated on 09/16/2023: Worst for trips abroad. Your Questions will get answered by Chatbot. No real person. With Faye, you will be talking to chatbot (automated customer interaction) all the time, no real person with a clear understanding of your issue and with a minimum of empathy. I file a claim 50 days ago and still waiting for Faye to give me any update. This is day 50 and I am still waiting for Faye to contact the hospital I went.
Original: I file a claim 46 days ago and still waiting for Faye to give me any update. Traveled abroad and went to the doctor. 46 days later they are telling me they have not been able to make contact with the hospital where I saw the doctor. The hospital I went is a state owned and the 2nd largest in the country. The country I visited is in a different time zone so 9h ahead of the time in California where Faye Travel Insurance is based. This means the person from Faye trying to make contact did not figure out the time difference between the 2 countries until I told her she can't get the phone answered at this time of the day. She is pretty much calling them on the phone outside of business hours when there is nobody to answer.
Next day she will pick up the phone and call again for the last 46 days. On top of not calling at this right time, the language spoken in the country is a French and few dialects. The agent at Faye in charge of making the call did not answer when I asked her if she can speak any of the languages. This is a complete failure and a complete misunderstanding of the global market. They have a very cool app but you cannot just sit in the office and rely on the cool app. This really reminds me of a business study case in Which Disney first failed when trying to do business in France but did not take a second to understand the market. Faye understand California well and ignore the rest of the world. If you are travelling abroad I will not recommend Faye because they have no clue.
The team is completely dysfunctional between AI used and the 2 or 3 people they have in the company. For example I was asked to give a phone number to contact me which I did by email. Few days later you will have someone else reach out and ask you for the same phone number. After my research I found out that other serious insurance companies are working well will the country I visited. The insurance companies mainly from US, Asia, and Europe will hire independent agencies to help check all the claims they have in the country. I would not recommend Faye for trips abroad. Almost impossible to talk to a real person to get questions answered by email or phone.

We looked around for travel insurance and this was one of the better deals we found for the coverage provided. Their website made it super easy to sign up through. They give you many options for coverage and with every step you see the price change. No hidden fees. They have an app that you can refer back to as well. We will use Faye again for our future travel insurance needs.

We felt fortunate to have Faye travel Insurance when we took our trip to Africa. We changed planes several times, both going and coming home, and lost luggage was a real worry. Also we had medical insurance while in a third world country, which was a relief. We worried about nothing thanks to Faye! I spent weeks studying travel insurance along with all their loopholes. It was overwhelming. When I discovered Faye and read their ‘to the point’ policy I purchased it. A day or two later I realized I had made a mistake on my travel dates so I sent a message and was credited the difference immediately. Couldn’t be happier with the process. The app is simple to navigate and alerted me to gate changes at the airport. My trip went flawlessly so I didn’t have to file a claim. I would wholeheartedly recommend this insurance to others

Luckily, I did not need to activate my travel insurance. But it definitely gave me peace of mind while I was traveling in Mexico. I knew that if anything happened, my insurance would cover a majority, or at least the major things I was concerned about. I compared the coverage of my Faye travel insurance policy with other companies, and this one came out on top. It was definitely more inclusive and comprehensive and gave me the peace of mind I needed!

This is the 1st time that we have purchased a Faye policy. I read great reviews. Our return home was delayed by a volcanic eruption in Mexico City. We were in Acapulco and had to stay an extra night. Faye worked with us the entire time. They even approved a doctor's visit for me when we were in Acapulco. Fortunately, I didn't need to make that visit. Overall, they were great! Highly recommend because of the ease of contact with IM and email, and great care and customer service. Already purchased policies for several more pending trips.

We travel quite a bit and have never purchased travel insurance for a trip. In planning our most recent trip to Italy, Faye happened to show up in one of my news feeds. Boy, am I grateful that it did! We purchased the basic coverage and this time, we needed it. Sadly, we had to cancel our trip and the dedicated Faye Team was right there by our side for the entire process.

I can only rate the ease of obtaining travel insurance through Faye vs. having the experience of using and/or filing a claim through the carrier. It was very easy to determine and purchase travel insurance through your website. Would be a more accurate rating if services were actually used, but personally glad I did not have the occasion to.

Faye has a fabulous front end, a very fancy social-media friendly interface that looks slick, easy, and fun. Behind this front end, however, is a very ugly, very old school underwriter insurance company who behaves like any ugly insurance company - they do whatever they can to wear you down so you give up, they are not in business to pay out claims. What you'll notice about most Faye reviews online is that the person did not actually need to file a claim with Faye. Most of the reviews talk about the great interface and the front end being friendly. That's great but meaningless, you are not buying a bot service, you are buying insurance. And I actually had to file a claim with Faye because I got very sick while traveling and I can tell you first hand, Faye was a disaster.
Bad enough being ill in a foreign country but when your travel insurance fails to help you while you're abroad and then does everything they can to not pay the claim, it's beyond words. I am still, now 3+ months later, fighting with them to process my claim. First and foremost, when I got sick abroad, Faye provided zero help, their app kept sending me texts wishing me well, but no human being got on the case to provide actual assistance. I was terribly ill and relied on their advertising and marketing which said they would help me while abroad. They did not. I have screenshots of all the communication, each "hope you're feeling better" message, but zero actual assistance on the ground to get me medical attention.
Second, filing a claim with Faye you discover that their friendly and slick front end is just that, a sham - they are amongst the worst insurance company experiences I've ever had. My experience is they play games to delay and wear you down hoping you'll give up. This has been so distressing, I can't even tell you. And even after I jumped through the 100 hoops they kept putting me through, they came up with more, including one that you MUST know about: they asked me to provide medical records from PRIOR to my trip. I'm not sure that's even legal, and I am contacting an attorney at this point, but I would caution you very seriously - insurance should be something that makes you feel better and that you can rely upon, but not with Faye. I will NEVER use Faye, never recommend them, and would encourage you to be very careful when considering them. Everything looks good on the surface, but that's all it is with Faye, surface.

We had searched far and wide for travel insurance and happily stumbled upon Faye. I did an enormous amount of research on several companies before deciding to go with Faye. What drew me to them is the customer service. I received a notification that I had looked into purchasing Travel Insurance thru them and they asked if they could help me with any further information. Of course, I asked away. They were professional and courteous and understood my concerns as we've never traveled internationally. Their prices beat everyone else's and gave the same if not better coverage. Talk about peace of mind. SO VERY HAPPY with having the coverage even though we did not need to use it. We will recommend them to our friends and family for future travel.

I can't speak to the claims process, since nothing went awry during my trip and I didn't have to make a claim, however it was simple to sign up compared to other options I explored. It was easy to understand and add on different options. There did seem to be similar exclusions and limits as other insurance providers which made me worry about what would happen in the case I did have to make a claim, but it seems to be a broader issues throughout the industry.

Appreciated the peace of mind the insurance provided. The email warning of the situation in France was extremely helpful since we had travel plans 4/13 and were prepared for alternate transportation if necessary. It helped to be proactive and not a victim of violence/strikes.

An earlier review by me gave Faye 2 stars because they were slower than advertised in responding to my claim. I am amending that to 5 stars because once they did get in touch they actually apologized for the delay and gave a reasonable explanation. From that point forward the process proceeded at a good pace and was very easy on my end. My claim was extensive and included medical, trip delay and trip interruption benefits. Faye not only sold me insurance coverage at by far the best price I found, but they came through for me when my vacation took an unexpected turn.

Faye advertises 24 hr claim review. Of course one can expect it to be a bit slower for whatever reason, but it has now been 3 weeks and I have not heard one word. Of course all my credit card payments for my trip interruption expenses are now due and I have no help from Faye. Starting to wonder if they are legit.

Hard to provide feedback since we didn't have any claims, except to say that we were happy to know we had our trip covered. Flight info updates were sporadic. Sometimes we would get updates from Faye and sometimes we would not. Not sure why.

Missed flight in Lax, called Faye, person that answered was from Tel Aviv, I told her my story, acually just got back, I bought insurance to cover my trip if something went wrong, I was flying from Ft. Myers FL to Auckland New Zealand, missed the flight in Lax mostly because I couldn't get my lugguage in time, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get lugguage, then had to go thru security, other reason was flight was delayed from Houston. I called right away and she said sorry she couldn't book me another flight, and it was not covered, now I'm in Los Angeles, tired late at night pushing 2 suitcases around with no place to go, I got a taxi, went to hotel, had to rebook a flight with Qantas at a cost of $5200 hotel $158.00 and I had insurance, at least I thought I did, I paid $1300 dollars, and for what, I did nothing wrong, I was hoping for some help, and I travel a lot, It's going to be hard to recommend your company after this, how would you feel if it was you?

Most travel companies make it easy to sign up for their policies. The real test comes if you have to make a claim - how easy is the process and how rapidly is the decision made to reimburse you. I am pleased to report that Faye was fantastic in this regard during a recent trip I made to New Zealand and I can highly recommend them as a travel insurance option. I purchased travel insurance from Faye before I left for the trip even though they did not have many reviews at the time. I found the app and the sign up process very well straightforward with the different options described in easy-to-understand language.
Fortunately I included car rental insurance as part of my package as during the trip I was involved in a minor accident that damaged the back of my car. I contacted Faye and they got back to me next day with the set of documentation I had to provide (rental contract, damage report, etc). The agent was very helpful and answered all my questions quickly and professionally. Once all of the docs were provided, the decision was made within 10 days and they agreed to reimburse me for the damage costs. I will definitely be using them again on my next trip as it is good to find a company whose policies are not only reasonable in price, but who are also responsive if you have to submit a claim and make the claim process straightforward and rapid.

I am 66 yrs old and I have heart issues. I was looking for travel medical insurance while traveling for 2 weeks in Italy. My internet research turned me on to FAYE. The cost was reasonable based on the potential unexpected medical cost of treatment in Italy and evacuation to the US which could easily exceed $1000k. Thank God I did not have to use the insurance but it was comforting to know it was there. If I decide to travel outside the UA again, I will surely return to FAYE.

If I could rate this company zero I would. My partner is pregnant. When she called Faye to say we can't travel due to the pregnancy the representative said, "No problem. Get a doctor's note saying you aren't able to travel and the claim will be honored." This COULDN'T be further from the truth. We provided a doctor's note from our hospital and was given a run around by Faye. Ultimately we lost the money on the flights for a trip we didn't take.

I had a ski trip to Breckenridge, which I had to cancel because my mom had a medical emergency. Faye went out of her way not to cover my canceled trip by arguing that my mother fell ill a week before she was transferred to the hospital. My mother has had emphysema for over a year, but she had not had a hospital emergency (ER). They argued pre-existence of the disease.

We buy travel insurance for every trip. Usually use Squaremouth to recommend a policy. But, we never actually understand what we are buying. The terms and conditions are so confusing that you need to be an insurance lawyer to understand them. Feels like bait and switch because there is always some kind of issue followed by tremendous administrative issues. We just bought Faye and loved that we understood what we were buying and what was and was not covered. That gave us some peace of mind. We will use them again next month.
