What is Faye?
Faye is an “insurtech” company selling whole-trip travel insurance underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company. It is 100% digital: You can get quotes, purchase coverage, make claims and get support 24/7 online.
Faye’s standard plan covers your trip and your belongings and health while you’re traveling in the U.S. or most countries. Faye offers add-on coverage for rental car damage, any-reason cancellation, extreme & adventure sports, pet care and vacation rental damage.
Faye started in early 2022. As of publishing, its plans are available to residents of all states.
How does Faye work?
To get pricing for your trip, enter your trip and traveler details on Faye’s website or in its mobile app. Your custom quote will be available in 60 seconds or less and will include the total plan cost and the cost of any additional coverage. You can adjust the estimated total trip cost, which is the maximum amount Faye will reimburse in the event of a cancellation.
Once you’ve received and accepted your quote, the next step is to have Faye’s app ready to use while on your trip. Faye’s app provides flight alerts and COVID-19 requirements, helps you file claims and receive reimbursement, and gives you access to 24/7 customer support.
Faye coverage
Faye offers whole-trip insurance, dividing coverages into three categories: your health, your trip and your stuff. Most of its coverages come standard, with several add-on options available.

Faye also offers add-on coverages for rental car damage, canceling for any reason (at least 48 hours ahead of departure), vet and kennel expenses, and vacation rental property damage.
How much does Faye cost?
Faye trip insurance costs vary based on factors including where you’re traveling, the length of your trip, any add-on coverages you choose and the estimated total trip cost (the maximum amount Faye reimburses you in case of a trip cancellation).
We requested a quote for Faye travel insurance for a family traveling from Colorado to Hawaii in December 2020. Faye quoted a price of $269.77 with an estimated total trip cost of $2,000. Increasing the maximum reimbursement to $5,000 increased the total cost to $361.34. Adding on cancel-for-any-reason coverage would have cost $38.28 or $95.70 for each plan, respectively.
Faye FAQ
When should I purchase Faye insurance?
Faye recommends purchasing travel insurance as soon as possible after booking your trip so you’re protected in case of any unforeseen event. To get the full range of coverage options, you must purchase your plan within 14 days of booking your trip. You can purchase coverage up to the time you leave.
Where is Faye available?
Faye offers plans for domestic U.S. travel and most international travel. It’s available to residents of all states. It is not available to Washington, D.C. residents. Faye is available to residents of New York, with some modifications due to state-specific insurance regulations.
How do I file a claim with Faye?
You can file a claim using the Faye app. You can then check the status in the app or by emailing or calling the company. Faye aims to process claims within 48 hours of receiving all necessary information.
What is Faye’s cancellation policy?
If you cancel within 14 days after purchasing a Faye plan, you’ll receive a full refund as long as your trip hasn’t started and you haven’t filed a claim.

We were very fortunate to not need to use our insurance, which is pretty awesome since we were on a 40-day trip to Greece, Switzerland, France and Italy. This was not a tour but a group of couples on our own; planes, trains & a 9-passenger van. Not a hiccup. Everything went as planned. But I felt so much better having Faye watch my back. They notified me of potential flight delays or changes. They sent me periodic updates on our itinerary when I provided them with the details. Made me feel good knowing that Faye was there if I needed them.

I absolutely love the app, and all the contacts throughout my trip. We had many flight delays and we kept receiving updates from you as well as the airline. The only problem I found is when the alert came up on my phone when you click on it to finish seeing all the information it does not go to that info. It just brings me to the site. So I was always unable to finish reading the information you sent, and could not locate it anywhere in the app,

We opted for Faye travel coverage because of their excellent policies, reasonable price, and great customer reviews. We were covering the longest and most extensive trip we'd ever taken, traveling across Europe for 4 weeks, covering 6 countries, a total of 7 flights from start to finish, and an eastern Mediterranean cruise. I felt a lot of relief knowing Faye would have our backs, and thankfully we never faced any travel or health issues. Even then, I made regular use of the outstanding Faye app to routinely review our flight information, and as a way to store digital copies of all our travel documents (including passport images) and travel details, available even if off-line. Great experience overall, and would use them again.

We had so many things happen on our International trip, from flights to medical, hotel and more. It was very easy to file my claims with Faye. Ella, my claims adjuster helped me with downloading my claims, and also traced money that I transferred to my bank account that was not deposited. She quickly found the error and I was able to transfer it to my account. Her customer service was terrific. My claims were promptly paid once all of the information Faye requested was received.

Faye Travel Insurance was easy to obtain and proved to be a trusted travel companion right on my phone. We were able to store copies of travel documents on the app. The policy itself is written in straightforward language. You know exactly what you’re getting when you sigh up. In addition to 24/7 support, I found the flight tracker to be one of the most beneficial features. It gave me real-time updates of my upcoming flights. The was super helpful as we navigated unfamiliar airports.

Don’t waste your money with this company. They will use any excuse to not pay a claim. We missed a connection because of air traffic control and ended up sleeping in the Amsterdam airport. Got home the next day. They were supposed to cover this, but would not.

My wife and I were to travel from San Diego to Scotland on September 7th 2026 and unfortunately I ended up in the veterans hospital emergency room hours before our flight. Subsequently we had to call off our 2 week vacation. Filed a claim with Faye Travel Insurance the very next day with emergency room doctor note and other hospital documentation. And.... documentation from the initial hotel we were to stay at, that had to be canceled at the last minute.
Faye advertises 7 to 9 days for turnaround if no other documentation were needed. Called today and was told the claim hasn't even been looked at. Thank you to the representative that was honest with me. Which she also conveyed she receives a lot of calls regarding my same issue. Faye Travel Insurance advertises 7 to 9 days in order to bring potential customers in. And from speaking with the representative take their time reviewing claims. Understand.... they already have my money for paying for the coverage.
This is my second time using Faye. Fortunately we did not have any problems the first time on our trip. And, if we were treated the same way we are being treated now, if there was an issue, wouldn't of gone with them again. Oh by the way, the claim consisted of the first hotel stay and a eSIM that I was unable to use. Any claim that has to do with hospital care or emergency rooms, this experience for both my wife and I, is a nightmare trying to get reimbursement by Faye Travel Insurance. Please be aware of their false advertising. Note: The app will show the claim or claims are under review. And again, when I spoke to the representative, the claim hadn't even been looked at.

Company is a ripoff. I put in a simple claim which should have taken 2 days to approve like they claim on their advertising. Instead they took my money and stalled me with no processing of my claim. No matter what I ask for as an update they say it should be a few more days. It's been two months with no updates. They are thieves. Shame on them. Do not give them your money.

The booking process was very intuitive and easy. The price was reasonable to me but could be better. Fortunately, I have not had any issues to make a claim so it's hard to provide feedback for the claim process. I will continue purchasing travel insurance from Faye until otherwise.

Several times of almost missing the last flight on Southwest. One persons lost moneys on a hotel and problems with ports. We were glad we had insurance.

While we thankfully did not need to use the insurance, communications were always open, there were real people always available, and the dollar coverage was great. Also really like the phone app- very easy to use. Faye has now become our go-to insurance company for international travel.

I have no idea why people say they received their claim payments quickly. I have been waiting for a month for a $280 claim. Just before the nine-business-day review period ended, Faye requested an additional document, which I provided as soon as possible. The status remained “under review” until the ninth business day, and since then, I have received no update. This was my first time submitting a claim with Faye. I chose Faye over Allianz because of all the positive reviews, but based on my experience, I now question whether some of those reviews are genuine.
