I was rear-ended at a stoplight by a guy going full speed on 7/18/15. Totaled my truck. He was contrite and gave me his info. He's insured by Dairyland. Now I almost wish he hadn't stopped at all. I was told to call the adjuster on the following Monday. I did and he said the appraiser would contact me within 24-48 hours to inspect my truck. 48 hours passed with no call so I called the adjuster back. He said I should just call the appraiser and gave me his number. I called him and he said he couldn't come out until the end of the week but as soon as he did he'd have everything uploaded and ready to go.

The weekend passed with no word or email. I got a message from him on Monday saying the truck was a total loss. Said to call him back to get details. I called back and got a full mailbox so I couldn't leave a message. Then called again and left a message. No word on Tuesday so I called the adjuster and repeated what he'd told me. The adjuster said I'd have to talk to the appraiser to get the offer number. I asked about a rental and he said under state law they didn't have to pay for a rental because the truck was totaled. Another day with no word and I called the appraiser again and he magically picked up. He said the car was a total. I said "Right you said that on the message. What's the offer?" He said, "Oh, I have to load this all into the software to get a number and then I'll send that to the adjuster and he'll give you the offer."

That's where we are today. A week and a half has passed since I was involved in an accident where my only fault was being stopped at a stoplight and this company gives me the runaround. I'm not optimistic about where it goes from here. My advice is a) never buy this company's insurance and b) if the person who hits you has Sentry/Dairyland you're better off working out another settlement

Good advice - do not spend your money with this company unless you want to overpay believing you are fully covered only to find out the hard way!! Overpaid and under insured, I had an accident that was not my fault. They did absolutely nothing to help me. Full coverage does not mean what you think. I was left with all my own bills and no one to turn to for help! To top matters off they report things incorrectly to the mvr thus ruining your credit! I wouldn't give them one star if I didn't have to choose one!!!!

I was involved in a 4 car accident where I was rear-ended by two other vehicles with mine being the 2nd car in the accident. So far I have been in touch with Dairyland Insurance which insures the last car in the accident. To this point the insurance company claim adjuster was not even sure why they were the ones contacting me. If I could rate no stars or negative I would as I have never seen such incompetence anywhere. After receiving one call from the company which I was unable to answer at the time and returning calls twice to the adjuster with no callbacks I was finally able to get in touch with another employee on the "team" who assured me that I would get a return call on Monday. Monday arrived and went... NO CALL. It wasn't until Tuesday that I get a call basically saying they want to write off my car however they are unsure of what I will be offered for the vehicle.

To that point I had to contact the insurance adjuster to come look at the car all the while I get no offer from Dairyland for a rental. When the adjuster came to look at the car he couldn't even figure out how to open the trunk which had no problem opening after the accident and I arrive home after work to find the headlights of my vehicle hanging from their connectors which is not how they were left after the accident. Other than the cosmetic damage to my car it runs and cranks over just fine but I have to hear that he tried to use a crowbar to open the hood which had been jammed shut after the accident. Unprofessionalism abounds in this regard with no callbacks from the company and it is like pulling teeth just to hear anything back.

A week has gone by with no end in sight with the last thing from the adjuster stating that they have to wait to see pictures from the car they insure... 3-4 weeks into the claims process. I was hoping for some resolution but after reading the horrible reviews for this company you would be better off with no insurance let alone Dairyland. There seems to be no end in sight since they can't even reimburse their own clients let alone the people they hit. By all means if you find out they have Dairyland Insurance and you are in an accident hire a lawyer immediately or you will just end up infuriated with a car that is worthless.

My wife and I recently got insurance through this company. When we were first quoted we were told that our monthly payment was going to be $114. When the first bill came around it was for $158. We called the company and were told that we didn't send in the proper paperwork to qualify for the homeowners discount. This was the first we had heard of any paperwork being needed and with that we sent them the papers they needed that day. Once they had the papers, we were told that the $114 would be honored and that would be our bill going forward. Now it is time for our second payment to be due and the bill comes again. This time it's $164. Again, we call the company and this time we are told that my wife has an at fault accident on her record. My wife has never been in an accident, but she was on our old roommate's policy (she used to drive his car from time to time) when he hit another car.

When we figured out the mix-up, we called the agent again. This time we were told that since she was on the policy they counted it as her accident, and without paperwork proving that it was not her accident, we were stuck paying the higher amount. So we jumped through all the hoops to get the loss statement from the roommate's insurance to get the loss statement showing that he was the driver at the time of the accident, and sent it to our agent. Three days later, after the document went for review, we were told that they didn't care who was driving, the only thing that mattered is that she was on the policy and we are just going to accept our new bill. Getting insurance through this company was the biggest mistake we could have made. Now we are stuck with them raising the prices on us and are locked in to paying for the next 5 months.

Their client ran a stop sign and broadsided me 5/1/2015. Their client is completely at fault. 3 days later, 5/4/2015 I still have not had an inspector call to look at my car and have not received a rental car yet either. The original adjuster transferred my claim to another adjuster and have not heard from her. I asked to speak to a supervisor. No call back there either. My whole life has been put on hold for 3 days and they have no sense of urgency to rectify my claim.

So I had been with Dairyland/Viking for a bit due to a prior accident. Always made my payments on a month to month basis even though they had me as a 6 month insurance. So the company that I was going through locally just took the payment for dairy land and wanted to switch me back to theirs when my accident fell off after so many years. Well it fell off and they said I can switch over to them for cheaper rates. Thing is I just made a $106 monthly payment on Jan 27th. Well I cancelled it on Feb 6th. And started my new policy paying $76/mo.

Not even 2 weeks into the month after I was assured I WOULD get a refund. I assumed it would be a pro rated refund and be for 2 weeks and a partial. Well 3 weeks later I received a check for $18. So pretty much I was lied to about the refund and ended up paying the $106 + $76 that month. I mean what a joke. Then when I requested info as to why I was only given $18 back. They sent me a bunch of crap that only they knew the meaning to all the numbers.

My son was T-Boned by a client of Dairyland Ins. The police came made a report and gave a ticket to their client. We called within 2 hours of the accident to report it. We were given the claim # and agents name, **. We were told she would contact us. Two days later still no word from her... I called her and left several messages with no response. I called and left messages for her manager who also did not respond. Six days into this we finally get to talk with the agent to set us up in a rental car. We go pick it up and find that they pay for the daily use but NOTHING else. They won't even pay for us to be insured to drive it. The customer service is the WORSE I have ever experienced. The management don't care as they did not call back either.

Now they want to back-bill for a discount I didn't know I was getting...NOT COOL!!! Think twice before going to this company!!

I was with this company for few months. When I first took policy, they charged me double the price for what I have to pay. When I asked them why I have to pay extra, they don't have any particular reason ("They say that Initially when you take a policy our company charges"). They increased my insurance policy price without any particular reason and when I call customer care, they say they don't know. And when I try to cancel my policy after two days of the payment, they didn't refund my money back even though I am a month-on-month policy holder. Very poor customer service. I honestly can give a rating less than 1.

I was with this company (AKA Viking) for SEVEN YEARS. Thanks to the Home Depot security breach, I had to get a new bank card, which covered my auto pay for this company. Got a cancellation for non-payment. Figured it was an easy fix, but no. They wanted to rewrite the whole policy, and that will be an additional $20/mo. for basic liability. Nope.

My husband was side swiped in heavy 4 lane traffic by a driver who is carrying Dairyland insurance on 6/9/2014 was the date of the accident. The driver of the vehicle never stopped; in fact, he sped up to try to get away (now making this a hit and run). My husband was able to get the make model color and license plate of the vehicle and called the police. He also contacted our insurance company. Our insurance company tried in vain to get Dairyland to pay out for damages caused to our vehicle. We were multiple excuses. The owner of the vehicle had lent the car to a friend. The owner then stated the car was never even on the road that day.

We recently received a letter by mail from Jeff ** (Claims representative): "I have completed my investigation of the above referenced accident. There is not enough evidence to determine whether our insured was involved in this accident and therefore we will not be able to assist you with this accident. If you are able to provide any additional evidence to show definitively that our driver was involved in this accident, please submit to me for review." So those dealing with Dairyland in attempts to collect after being hit BEWARE!!! Apparently having the make, model, license plate is not enough... nor is the matching paint that was left on our vehicle that obviously is the same color as the vehicle that hit him.

The only reason I am with this insurance company is because of some minor traffic violations making it impossible to get better insurance. You can bet the minute I am able to go with a better agency, I will be gone.

I'm writing the abbreviated version, because the real version is way too long. In Oct. 2013 my husband's truck was hit while parked on the street by a Dairyland customer. Our neighbors saw it happen and took down the girl's information. After initial contact we waited a week to hear from Dairyland and never did. Called after two weeks to find out that an adjuster had been out to look at the truck, but never let us know that. After we had the truck towed to a local shop to get fixed with estimated repairs at $8,000, we found out that the driver had a $5,000 maximum (good thing for her it was a truck and not a Mercedes!). We ended up paying for the rental car out of pocket and minimizing truck repairs to the bare minimum. After finally receiving a reimbursement check from them in December, it bounced!! After two weeks of calls, hang ups, etc. we just received a check in the mail... for less than the original amount!! The phone calls will continue on Monday...

Dairyland was nice when they wanted us to immediately release the car to the company that purchases the totaled cars from them. They wanted this to happen immediately to SAVE THEM MONEY!!! We did so and then after that the professionalism was a JOKE! I noticed they used the WRONG CITY to give us a valuation on the totaled car --- they never answer the phone and the only way they would finally respond would be when I would email them with the READ receipt on the email. I started insurance with Dairyland because they were supposed to be reasonable, however After a few days with them I purchased a vehicle and went into the office to give them the information on it. First due to the vehicle being older, had more miles my rate should have dropped. It rose by $40.00. When I asked why they said the vehicle cost more to repair.. I wasn't born yesterday and knew they were blowing smoke. On the 2nd of Dec, they took the premium out of my account, on the 3rd of Dec I received a quote for insurance that was almost $60.00 cheaper. I called Dairyland to cancel my policy and was told I would be charged a cancellation fee, however they did not know what it would be just yet. They held over $200.00 and 15 days later sent me a check for $47.00.

I had called to see why and was told it was due to the short term policy. They debited my account on 1 day, I cancelled the next morning as soon as as they opened and for that they caused me major grief, overdraft charges while I was waiting for a REASONABLE refund and ended up getting screwed by this company. My cancelling and going with a company who I am saving money with ended up costing me $483.00. Funny (not) how they think it is okay to steal from people while they are just trying to live from day to day.

Well trying to cancel with this company is literally impossible! They wouldn't cancel it over the phone. They needed an email! So we did that and were told we would have to wait 7 days for our refund! 2 weeks later after not receiving our refund, I called and after spending 10 minutes waiting for an actual person to answer, they told us it was because it was sent from my son's email! They never contacted us to inform us of any of this. When I called I was informed that I will lose the 2 weeks of money that I provided, even though I cancelled the first day! The customer service agent I spoke to assured me that she would call me today and verify the refund and that she received my email!

I was hit by a girl who has Sentry/Dairyland insurance. We are dealing with Peak Auto Collision or something like that for the liability and to get the damage to our vehicle paid for. The accident happened on 10/9 and it has been almost two weeks now. They are refusing to give us a rental because they need this or that or one of their people lost a page of the police report. It's always some excuse whenever we finally get a hold of someone. The police report clearly states their driver was at fault, but they are making all these excuses for why it's taking so long along with not returning calls nor answering the phone almost ever. We've contacted supervisors and they pawn off their complaints back to their adjuster who is our main complaint. He speaks to us and our insurance agent in a very demeaning way and is very short and most of the time hangs up on us. We are currently paying for a rental car out of pocket due to the fact that life actually does go on. It doesn't stop just because insurance people can't take responsibility for their insured's accidents. I'm looking for any information or contact information for someone to review this situation with us in a timely manner, please.

Upon my asking, she also told me that they cannot terminate or take any legal action as long as they pay their insurance premium.

In the meantime, my daughter was taken to an emergency room and they are refusing to pay the medical bills or even deal with me or my issue. They are refusing to give anything in writing about the incident or give me any proof in writing that this guy was excluded. They only talk on the phone only when I leave messages and is very insensitive and is hiding a lot so that they don't have to pay.
