    The electrical contractors were great guys. They replaced the part of our ceiling fan that had an issue. They were very professional and they knew what they were doing. AHS can take a bite out of some very expensive mishaps or occurrences. They had a little glitch where they were having problems finding contractors and I still haven't gotten my central air unit dialed in all the way. So, I'm hoping they find more contractors in the service area. They're in a shortage and nobody these days want to work.

    For the first few years of using American Home Shield I found their service to be great. In the past year I have had to instances of using a claim and both times hit snags, this most recent being the backbreaker. My heat went out during this winter, putting a claim on with the furnace I was assigned a contractor. The contractor did not have an opening to diagnose the issue for 2 weeks and was also located 3+ hours away. I called to see if we could find a contractor that could come in a shorter time frame. After several days I was told no one could be found, at this point I had to beg to reach out to local companies to come do it before another cold snap came through instead of waiting the 2 weeks. Everything finally got approved and work has been completed. But the final straw is initially after talking with a Stephanie she said reimbursement checks are returned in 10-14 business days.

    Today, when I called to check and see how processing was going on the account I was told by a Jacob that there is no 10-14 day policy but rather a 14-21 day policy. I was told that there is not a way for the customer to check the progression of the reimbursement and even be told if they received my receipt that was sent 10 business days. After this I will be seeing the short time period out on American Home Shield and will be looking for another potential company. Customer service what was once very clear and transparent has recently become outsourced and able to not handle more than a script.

    The dishwasher's door would drop down and fall on my leg. There were also a couple errors that came up on the dishwasher. We submitted a claim with AHS then the tech came out, brought some kind of part, and fixed it. But the door is still having an issue. When you open it, it'll fall and it's like there's nothing there to slowly let it come down. It would just drop and it hit my shin a couple of times. Other than that, AHS has replaced the pool heater and worked on the stove. They've done multiple things and we've been highly satisfied. I also keep telling everybody that they need to get an American Home Shield warranty.

    The biggest benefit is not having to worry about what to do when something needs work. I used to travel a lot. So if something went wacky while I was away from home, I could just call American Home Shield, and they would be able to take care of it with my wife at home without me having to worry about it. We had a refrigerator that made a bit of noise. Being slightly a handyman myself, I figured maybe a motor or a fan went out. So, I went online and made a work order. And instantly, I was assigned GE. The tech was a young guy, but he knew what he was doing. And he asked me what I thought the symptoms were and I told him. He pulled off the facing, took the motor out and said, "Yup, that's the problem." He had one in his vehicle. And within 30 minutes of being here, he was done and gone.

    When we first bought the house, the lady that I bought it from was also gave us the refrigerator with it, but the freezer broke and she had a call three times. On that third time, American Home Shield ended up giving her a voucher for $2,700 at Lowe's to get any refrigerator she wanted. So, in turn, she gave it to us and we picked out a brand-new refrigerator. That was my first experience and that was cool.

    I first used AHS for my heater and the person that came out was super awesome. We actually have an appointment on Friday. This will be the third time they come out because they don't have the right thing. But it's good. I called AHS for a plumber and thought that would be a problem at first because I paid my $85, the guy came out, he didn't speak English, did a horrible job, and he said that I needed $5,000 worth of work. It was ridiculous. So, instead of authorizing it, I called AHS and they said that was his professional opinion. I said, "No, he didn't know what he was talking about. You guys need to fix this. He did the same thing I did and I wouldn't have paid $85 to have somebody come to the exact same thing I did." They said, "We can send out a second opinion. But the only thing is, if they have the same result, you have to pay the deductible for the second opinion."

    Second opinion came, fixed our problem. So, I never paid more than that first deductible and they sent somebody else out who was good. I talked to the heater guy about it because he was in there through the process and said that what he found was a lot of low-level construction people. Whatever the company is, we'll make a 30-day contract with them, just trying to get extra business and money. And he said that's probably what that first plumber was. I'm glad AHS sent somebody else to fix it. AHS works good.

    A repairman came to the house and said the claim wasn't covered by the American Home Shield policy because it wasn't a problem. I told him that it was reported to us a couple of different ways that there was no GFCI circuitry in the house. We felt that it's a safety issue. I've always lived in homes where there were GFCI circuitry and sockets that help with safety. He said that the house didn't need to be rewired. They just needed to replace certain plugs with a different type of socket and it was $160 per socket. What threw me a little bit too was he pointed to four or five in the kitchen and normally, they usually do one in each area. They don't do all of them. That seems strange to me. But he seemed to be honest about it. I'm happy with it.

    I noticed that the contractors that American Home Shield sent out didn't want to be there and I would have to call them back because whatever they did didn't work. When I called American Home Shield to get the disposal turned on, the tech that came out broke my sink and made the whole thing worse. I ended up with a flooded kitchen and a completely broken sink. Then he tried to convince me that I did it. I had to tell him to get out of my house immediately because he made me feel uncomfortable. When he was here, I paid by credit card for something separate just with his company. I asked him, "Hey, is that a secure way to pay?" But he chewed me out. He said, "You're overreacting." That was just weird. It was weird too because he was talking to me like we know each other.

    I kept calling the company wanting to speak to the actual person in charge. Initially, they kept blowing me off. Then finally, the young lady called me back. At first, she wasn't friendly. She said, "Oh, well, he said it was like this." But once I explained the entire situation, she was really nice and understanding and helpful. She got it fixed and had somebody scheduled to come out at a later date pretty quickly.

    At first, I really relied on American Home Shield because it made me feel secure and I can just call them and pay a flat fee. But I've been very dissatisfied with them. In 9 out of 10 contractors, it was an unpleasant experience. I've made over six calls for my AC and people came out and tinkered with it. One guy even told me to just pour some bleach in it.

    I like AHS. They're very good. When I do a claim, there's somebody out here immediately. I would get a call the next day and the techs would come out here and look at it the same day they called me and would fix it the same day too. Their app is also good. It's easy to make a claim and pay for the claim there. Recently, my furnace wouldn't turn on. The techs said it was something in there that was making the transformer blow up. They were good and quick about coming out here.

    The fridge was fixed once or two times and then on the next time we called American Home Shield, the tech said it was not repairable anymore. It wasn't cooling. But I'm not 100% sure what was wrong with the fridge totally. The tech never totally told me. He just sent in his thing to American Shield. But it was very easy to send in a claim to American Home Shield. This is the best service ever. It worked. It was wonderful because my son lives out there and we own the house, so we just put the claim in, and he was able to get another fridge. We are more than happy with American Home Shield.

    Having American Home Shield, there's a satisfaction of knowing that if something goes wrong, I don't have to plead for help. The water was all the way up to the rim of my toilet. I plunged it and flushed it and it went down, but it did not resolve the issue. I called American Home Shield and Kyle Plumbing came out. The tech was incredibly kind. I was embarrassed but he was incredibly professional. I'd hire him in a second and recommend him to anybody. Also, they said that if I have any problems, I have 30 days and I just need to call American Home Shield and they'd come back out, which is nice.

    My issue was back in July 2022 and I have been trying to get it resolved since 11/11/2022. I called in a work order, the representative took my credit card number to pay the $100 deductible. They also charged the credit card on file so they took 2 payments for one service call. They will not return my call, my letters, nothing. I've tried to contact their corporate offices, nothing. I would never do business with them again and would warn others.

    The water heater stopped working so we filed a claim to have a service guy come out. The tech came out the next day and all he had to do was relight the pilot light. We haven't had a problem with it since. We had another claim before when our air conditioner stopped. The company they had come out was out the next day and fixed it. AHS does exactly what they said they would do. My only comment is that for such a simple fix like on the water heater, it cost me $125. It's a pretty significant charge for the 10 minutes the guy was here. It used to be $50.

    The first company that AHS sent for my refrigerator came out. One part was bad. They replaced it. But the refrigerator started doing the same thing. So I called the gentleman back. He said to call American Home Shield and request a recall. I did that. AHS sent over another company which was a GE specialist and they replaced the same part that the first company replaced. A week later, the fridge wasn't working again. I called American Home Shield a couple of days ago for another recall. They gave me the number of the gentleman. I talked to him directly. He came over right away. His service was great. The refrigerator is working now.

    I had a microwave go out and AHS had to give me another one because they didn't have the parts needed for the one that I had. The technician was great but it was a nightmare from the standpoint of AHS communicating properly. They gave me a grid on what I should order and they wanted me to order it. I ordered what I thought was comparable to what mine looked like but it turned out that it wasn't. They said that I ordered a stovetop and I needed an attached one to go over my stove. So, I canceled it immediately within hours of the situation. But in my canceling, they still sent me the same one that I could not use. I sent it back then we ordered the right one.

    I spent hours and hours on the phone just trying to get them to do the right thing. Then they wanted to charge me 100 and some dollars for restocking when the mistake was found immediately. So, I had to fight for my rights with it. They ended up not charging me for the restock and giving me the right one. But it took weeks and I had to go through that whole process over again.

    Then recently, the door of my oven was smashed into little pieces. I filed a claim and I was perturbed with AHS because I found out that I had a lot of things that were not covered under my policy. Some time ago, I increased my service fee because I wanted to make sure everything in my home was covered. But when I filed the claim for the door, that nice technician who took care of my refrigerator came out and told me that he was going to file the claim. So, we got that filed and the next day, I got a message from American Home Shield saying that the issue was cosmetic and they were not going to cover it. I was incensed. So, I spoke to a nice young lady on the phone and I told her that I felt like I was being taken total advantage of and that I got tired of fighting every time I needed to file a claim.

    I've been having this insurance for years and I'm not one of those ones that have a lot of issues. But all of a sudden, I started having issues, so that's why I pay insurance. Just for them to tell me that my issue wasn't covered. So, I was really ready to let them go. But the girl that I spoke to was very helpful and she told me that they were going to send another technician out here. The only problem there was if the tech found something in our favor, I would have to pay for the visit. But I agreed to it and they took care of it. Another technician came and within a day or so, I heard that my door had been ordered. It was then put in and the servicemen who worked on it were extremely knowledgeable and personable. They are the reasons why I stayed with AHS, even though I'm very dissatisfied with the process and the information that they give out.

    My water heater wasn't heating and the tech did great. He was timely and friendly, and now, everything’s fine. I'm not handy, so having American Home Shield makes things easier for me. My experience with them is up and down. It depends on who they send out. Overall though, for the last three things that I've had done, my experience was positive.

    American Home Shield is expensive. But they usually assign somebody quickly. I submitted my claim online, and pay my copay. Within minutes, I get the assignment of the contractor. I call them, and usually can get an appointment very quickly.

    Don't bother working with them. They tell you things are covered and then they aren't. When they say interior electrical covered what they mean is what they consider covered. They have so many clauses and the sales guys/gals get you hyped up to make you feel covered but really you pay and then are not covered. I was told ANYTHING interior and electrical and as long as I didn't cause the issue on purpose or maliciously... wrong. Go somewhere else or read the fine print. Because most likely your issue... not covered.

    The AC guy that came out as well was horrible. Then told me I needed a new unit but the warranty puts band-aids on issues so they don't have to pay. And then I told them I didn't want him to come again. So what do they do? Try and send them again. Took me hours on the phone arguing with the warranty people that I didn't want that guy here. All in all the people that you call don't care and are rude and the service people they send out don't care and are mostly rude. I did have one good experience out of the several I had.

    Our furnace wasn't working. A gentleman came out and at one point he said that he didn't know what it was. But whatever he did, he got the furnace to work. But 30 minutes after he left, it stopped working again. The following week we scheduled an appointment for him to come and look at it again because it still was not working and the appointment got rescheduled. The following week, it was scheduled then it got rescheduled. This time, I was proactive and called. We had his phone number. I reached out and said, "We're scheduled tomorrow. So are you gonna come?" He said he was not coming and was very rude.

    I called American Home Shield and requested for a different company to come out. They said they would send someone else. I got a call from a young lady to reschedule and I said, "No, we're already scheduled with someone else." She read the notes out loud and the notes said we had canceled, which was absolute fiction.

    A-US Air came out and the guy right away said it was the thermostat. There were loose wires in the thermostat and he put those together. The furnace started working. But the next day, it stopped working again. Someone is scheduled to come back out again tomorrow. Overall, American Home Shield did a very good job of having someone call me. They escalated it, so a gentleman called me and was very polite. They handled things very professionally.

    We've had American Home Shield for under a year. But previously, we had had them for years and years. Five years back, the washing machine and the microwave broke. We had a trash compactor. We got a letter saying something along the lines that they couldn't insure us anymore. Before that, we never had a problem. We ended up finding someone else and I didn't hear from them for anything except the money was drafted out. The experience that we had had with American Home Shield made me come back.

    My whole family has had American Home Shield for their respective homes. My older brother said he was not renewing American Home Shield and that he didn't want to deal with all that stuff. He doesn't like conflict. I had just gotten off the phone with them and I said, "Yeah, because they're awful." He asked why I don't leave them. I said, "Well, because the experience that I had with the other company was not better. If this wouldn't have happened right now, you wouldn't be telling me that." He said, "I have not had any problems with them either but it was just listening to me on the phone with the gentleman going, 'sir, it's like this and this and that." He was turned off by that.

    I looked at American Home Shield and there was one negative thing that happened. That's why I would still refer them. I don't think it's their fault but their customer service. I called and spoke with someone that was foreign and I did not understand her. She was speaking very rapidly as well and I asked her to please slow down. She kept calling me Ms. Barbara and I would say, "No, no, my name is Rebecca. My contract is the one that's opened, right?" "Yes, Ms. Barbara." That went on for probably 20 times. If American Home Shield is outsourcing somewhere, they do need to make sure that if they're going to be using them in the United States, they can speak English.

    I don't have a problem with people speaking their own language. It was just a matter of, "Can you repeat that?" She would tell me again and I would not understand. At some point she told me "I wanna cry because you don't understand me." But I told her we were going to work through this and that she just needed to slow down. After that, she just kept going on and on about being bad. She apologized. I said, "You don't need to feel bad... It's just me, I just don't understand what you're saying." She then said, "No, I don't understand you either." That was the only negative thing with that experience with customer service.

    With AHS, I can make a call and usually get something fixed in a short period of time without too much hassle. My most recent claim was when Appliance Tech came out. The tech troubleshooted the dryer and found out that the heating element was busted. He had a part in his van and he replaced it, put it back together, cleaned it up for me, and made sure it worked. It was done in one visit and I was pretty surprised. It's a newer machine and I thought the part was gonna take a week or two.

    The customer service depends on the vendor that they're using. But First Choice who came out for the plumbing was very quick. Although, I wasn't happy about the coverage because I'm gonna have to pay over $1,000 to get the bathtub valve fixed. I tried to escalate it and they sent an email that they'd give me 250 to get a different plumber. I don't wanna get a different plumber. I just wanna get everything fixed.

    Also, when you first call in a claim, the automated system asks for the appliance or system that's not working. I say it and it takes the machine a while to understand what I'm saying. The automated system doesn't work very well. Then, when you get a representative, sometimes their English is very hard to understand. Other than those, the warranty gives you peace of mind should something go wrong.

    I was pretty skeptical of home warranties or if I need them or if I should have them. But this last year, I'm really glad I have American Home Shield because I used them three or four times and they came through every time. I'm thankful for them. If I could say one thing that's annoying about filing a claim through American Home Shield is there's not always emergency or soon availability. It's typically a week or two out. Recently, Myers Comfort came out for an air conditioning claim and it was probably the best experience of a claim I've had because they called me right away to schedule an appointment. They said they couldn't come out that day but they came out the next day. I'm the happiest with their availability.

    Sometimes AHS is a little slow getting to me and some of the contractors are not real good people to deal with. AHS could try to get more companies to go with them. Recently, the furnace and air conditioner went out and they fixed it for the time being. But it went out again yesterday.     I put in a service request to have a new air return grate put on my ceiling, because I wanted a professional to do it, my son plays under there and I do not want him getting hurt. The technician never showed up, and said, "The job was finished" to the company and I was still charged the service fee. I have made multiple attempts to have the technician actually come out, to no avail. The part that upsets me is that I cannot get a refund on the service charge. No one came to my home, no one stepped foot in here, and I am in essence being called a liar and not receiving a refund. I have to wait days in between phone calls with customer service and supervisors from AHS. I simply want my service fee refunded, I don't believe that is unfair, since literally no one came here to even look or repair. I am very much near the point of cancelling my contract and going with a company that actually takes care of their customers.

    For our refrigerator claim with AHS, we had six technicians come out here but none of them could get the water running. But they fixed the ice maker. A-Fix Service Inc. sent a young kid out here. He was enthusiastic. He was trying to get it to work. Finally, one day, he installed a heater 'cause the heater was faulty and said, "Give it four days and it'll work." I gave it six days but it still wasn't working. I called AHS and then AHS called them back out here. By the time this guy got back out here in three days, the water was going. So it just needed a little longer than four days. But other than that, it's working. I was really thankful for the guy. I haven't had any problems with AHS. They've always come out. Even if they couldn't fix it, they offered to replace my stovetop. You get your money's worth with AHS.

    Every time I try to use the water dispenser, there was this rattling coming from the rear end of the refrigerator. I thought it had something to do with the filter, so every time that would happen, I would take the filter out and put it back in. I would reset it and the noise would go away for a month. This started about five months ago and that length of time kept shortening then the noise would show up again. When the repairman came out to look at it, he said that the problem doesn't have anything to do with the filter. It has to do with the way the wire line is connected to the refrigerator. He said that it will take a plumber to replace that because they have to shut the water off. So, he said they have to turn the work over to a plumber. He said he could fix it, but because it's something that the insurance wasn't going to cover, it will have to be a plumber that has to take care of it.

    The tech was very kind and efficient. He explained to me everything that needed to be done and what he suggested. So far, the refrigerator has been working fine, it's just that I keep getting this noise from the backside. When the tech figured out what the problem was, he told me to try to use the water dispenser. I had to dispense a little bit of water for it to act up, but he showed me and I could visibly see that this noise was coming from that part that he mentioned that had to do with the waterline coming in.

    Other than that, I've been very pleased with AHS. I liked that they have different different levels on their plans. The higher the plan, the more expensive it but it covers more. In the summer, my water tank quit working. It took almost two weeks to get everything resolved because of trying to work with the plumber. But I got a new water tank put in and all I had to pay was the initial deposit whenever I contacted American Home Shield. Everything else was covered 100%.

    My husband is not a fix-it guy, and a lot of our stuff is so electronic now that one little chip, who knows what it would cost to get it fixed. And on one item, American Home Shield was the best bang for my buck. That's why I bought it, and I have not regretted it. We went to turn on the dryer and the on button was stuck. We tried to reset it with the circuit breaker thing but that did not work. So, we called American Home Shield, a contractor came, and they were wonderful people. They've been here before. The tech was very good. It's his wife who calls and schedules everything. And he comes out, does the work quickly, and leaves everything nice and clean. He had the piece with him, he fixed it, and he was done.

    He also checked the dishwasher because I requested it. The rollers for the tray to move back and forth on the bottom broke off. He checked and said, "If I order these, these are really simple to put on. Is this something your husband can do?" "Yeah, he can do it if you can get them to him." He was going to order them, but we didn't know whether we were getting the right ones or not. So we said, "If you're coming for the dryer, just check the dishwasher." And that's what happened. He ordered the parts, they came in, my husband attached them, and we were fine and dandy on that.

    On January the 23rd, the dishwasher would not work. I had a technician come in. He unplugged the dishwasher, and the unit worked. However it quit working two days later. I called in to American Home Shield and they told me to go ahead with a follow-up. I spoke to the technician and he said he was sure that I needed a panel. He ordered the panel and I received the panel on February the 8th. It was installed then it quit working after two days.

    I requested another visit. The technician from that company came and said that it could not be repaired. A report was sent in to American Home Shield. I received a call on the 24th and another company was scheduled to come in to give a second opinion. They said that it was not able to be repaired and they would notify American Home Shield. I talked to somebody on the 27th and tried to explain to her. She would not understand what I was talking about, that the panel had been replaced, et cetera. She said she would have to get back with me but I have not heard anything. I received an email yesterday stating that they had ordered a part for my dishwasher. I called the company that had given the second opinion and they stated, "That sounds just like American Home Shield. They do this quite often." I am waiting for the company that was assigned to call me about a part that has been ordered to fix this machine that has been decided to be dead twice.

    My burner stopped working. My microwave also stopped. I thought it was the circuit breaker. I called American Home Shield. The contractor came out. He came to my house and checked everything out. I'm satisfied with the contractor coming out. AHS was on time by sending the people out to check to see what the problems was with my microwave and stove. But I gotta figure out how I have to go online or what do I do to get a replacement.

    I can use my stove, but I still smell the gas. And the gentleman said my microwave is already is fried. So, I'm just waiting. When they ask me what should I do, I have to go online and pick out what microwave and stove. If they sent me a check, I would have to pay someone to come out to install it. But I prefer to pick it out from whatever AHS wants me to do with my microwave and stove and let them come out and put it in, because I don't know anything about gas. I still don't know how to turn off the gas right now.

    The gentleman took two of those white pilot things out. And it's lying on my countertop that was there. So, I don't know if it would be gas leaking. He said, “You can still use those two burners that do work.” But he took out the igniters and never replaced them to go back into the gas stove. AHS, so I pass out the information to other people. I wouldn't be able to afford to pay for the appliances right off if they broke. And I pay as much as I would need to pay for someone to come out to repair something.

    The garage door opener was making a horrendous noise and we thought it was gonna fall and break loose. The tech fixed it but he sold my husband some extra things like the casters. The wheels were almost worn out. Our house was built in ’76, so it's an old garage door opener and he did a backup of extra things.     I'm a baker and my oven told me it had an F2 problem and it beeped and screamed. I looked up what that meant and it meant that it was overheating. It was cold so, there was something not right. The people from United Services are fabulous. They're on time and if they're not gonna be there, they call. The tech knows what he's doing and cleans up. The oven is good not but it's 12 years old, so I expect it to croak any minute. My trash compactor went out in November and I got the runaround but it was finally installed in February. I had to go to the head office and send emails to everybody who had a CEO or something behind their name and got a call back within two hours, an apology, and a trash compactor was in the next week. I’d recommend American Home Shield. I had some trouble with a couple of repair persons and when I complained, AHS no longer sent them to me.

    The tech for my refrigerator thought that because I had sugar and flour in big Ziplocs and had them pushed against the back wall of the refrigerator where the airflow is, that was causing it to continually run and not think it was cold enough. It was minimal interaction, but it was pleasant. They were super nice and efficient and they showed up when they were supposed to. I don't have any complaints.

    We recently put in a new filter in our refrigerator and after we did that, the water and icemaker didn't work. We called American Home Shield, then the repair people came out, looked at it, and said that it needed a part. They ordered the part, came out the next week and put it in. The water and icemaker still didn't work and we called them back to let them know. They came out, looked at it, and said, “Well, it's not the lines within the refrigerator. It's the pressure that's coming out of the wall to the refrigerator. That's where the problem lies.”

    I thought I would have to call somebody to come out and look at it, but unbeknownst to me, American Home Shield called a company and they came out the very next day. The tech was quite knowledgeable as far as the refrigerator was concerned. As soon as he looked back there and pulled it out, he said he had to order a part. We figured he had to because this happened to us once before, and when he got the part and put it back in, he said everything was working good. It didn't, but then he came back out the very next day and got it all fixed. The unit is working better because we have more pressure coming out now, and the icemaker is working again, so everything is cool.

    My experience with American Home Shield has been fine, but sometimes, they're very hard to get ahold of. When we found out that the water and icemaker were not working again after the repair people came out, it took me about three days trying to get ahold of American Home Shield. However, they took care of it and that's all I cared about.

    When our garbage disposal was leaking water, we made a claim with American Home Shield, then Sanders Plumbing came out. The gaskets inside the garbage disposal were worn down and it was leaking through the bottom. Sanders Plumbing completely solved our problem. They replaced the garbage disposal and did a great job putting it in and it didn't take them very long. They did a good job. It was very professional and done right.

    I've also had one experience where we made a claim for a plumbing problem that had to do with a leak above our garage. The plumbers that came out of Bryant, Arkansas said it wasn't the pipes leaking. They determined the leak was coming from the shower in the room above, but they were not able to solve that problem. They at least pointed us in the right direction. They suggested that the caulking around the base of the shower needed to be reworked. We did that ourselves, and we think we fixed it, but we haven't had enough people use the shower to see. Hopefully, that helped it.

    Water was coming back up to the toilet but through the flange part, not all the way up through and the shower. It was a clog deep down in the pipes. When we called in the request, it was a Sunday and the repair company couldn't make it out until the following Thursday. The technician came out and fixed the issue the same day. I wasn't there, but my niece was and she said the technician was very nice, knew exactly and was able to find it right away. He was great.

    I've got American Home Shield for two of my houses. For this house, we only had it for a month and a half. My father-in-law had just passed away, and we took over the house. We also had AHS on our other house for over a year. What I like about American Home Shield is any time I had any kind of questions, issues or service, they've always been very responsive. The companies that they've worked with have always been good companies that we've dealt with as well. The techs are always very nice.

    We had an issue a long while ago back with our house. It was during Covid and there were supply chain issues. American Home Shield had trouble finding somebody that was willing to come out. That lasted three weeks, then they escalated it and finally got somebody to come out. I don't think it was their fault, and it was still a good experience once someone finally showed up. I've recommended American Home Shield to co-workers and other people, and I don't recommend just to recommend. I'm honest with people whether they ask or not, and American Home Shield has earned the recommendation.

    We had some faucets that were leaking in the master bathroom, guest bathroom, powder room, and the kitchen. The contractor told me that they would give me a call, which they did. Everything worked very well with them. I’m pleased. I've been protected with American Home Shield for several years. I have three properties that they cover. Now, it's a lot better than what it used to be. They are very responsive. A couple of years ago, I had some issues with the responsiveness. Trying to get someone out in a reasonable time period was a challenge in the past. But I haven't experienced that lately. Lately, things are a whole lot better whenever I call.     In the past couple of years, I've called about a microwave, a dishwasher and now the faucet. It's been generally good with the contractors for small repairs. The silliest one was a microwave. American Home Shield sent a guy out, but he did three service calls to try to fix the microwave. I only paid one fee. It was silly because American Home Shield could have just put a new microwave in for less than the cost of these three service calls, trying different parts.

    I had a nightmare with a major repair. It was our air conditioner. It was a smart system, so nobody in their network had the ability to repair it. They authorized me to find somebody who could. I found a reputable company. They dealt with the company directly, authorized all repairs and authorized me to pay upfront and get reimbursement. But it took me three months of yelling before I got my reimbursement. Soon I recognized that for that major reimbursement, it was a game. I would call, give all the information, but nothing would happen. I'd call back in a couple of weeks and check on it, and they would give me a song and dance and push me around.

    After the fourth time in two months, I lost my mind. I said, "I apologize to you 'cause I know it's not you. But you're trying to deliberately make this difficult for me and pretending that you've never heard this.” I got to start all over. Then magically, it popped up into my account. I was reimbursed. I almost didn't re-up with them after that, but I thought I'd give it one more year. Overall, American Home Shield works as advertised. They react in a timely manner. I will continue with them as long as I get that type of service.

    My washer was broken since November. In January, American Home Shield issued approval for it to get replaced. But they only gave me half of what the price of a new dryer would be. They're giving me $400 and a new washer comes to almost $800. They said they only give you market value of what it is. But the market value of what they were giving me wasn't even enough to buy the same washer from their website on their replacement plan. I ordered a new washer, sent them all the documents, but they still have yet to send me a check. I don't understand what's going on. It's very frustrating. In August, our dishwasher broke. It did not get repaired until the end of November. American Home Shield needs to improve on getting the vendors out here and the parts. We're paying months of payments to them, but they can't even get a contractor out here who can fix stuff.

    I called American Home Shield for a plumbing problem. Their contractor came over and fixed it. The only problem that I had was with the water heater. It took a whole week for them to come and replace it. We didn't know they close early and we couldn't pick up the heater. They couldn't do it on the weekend because they were not open on the weekend. Then there was a holiday. I told them I got kids and cannot shower the kids with cold water. It was winter. The day that I had the incident with the heater, I even called both of the companies to tell them they were supposed to let me know and that I was not supposed to be calling them. The minute I did the claim, they were supposed to follow up.

    Having American Home Shield, when something needs to get fixed, you just pick up the phone and you get somebody over. Sometimes, you have problems with who they send. We've had those kinds of problems before. Over 10 years, we’ve probably have about three contractors come out that you can tell really did not want to do the work. I guess they get paid no matter what. One time, we had them come out, and we had problems with air condition. They said there was mold inside of it, and there really wasn't. It was just some algae and they refused to fix it. They came another time. Our range electronics went out, and when the guy pulled the range away from the wall, there was a roach down there on the floor. He said that the range was infested with roaches and they ate the wires. He didn't even open it up and refused to do the work. American Home Shield did send somebody out to fix it after that guy.

    There was another time with the air conditioner. They said we hadn't maintained it, and we had a problem, but American Home shield sent somebody out and fixed it. Overall, I'm glad I have AHS, and I still have it. They've done a lot of work for me over the years, and all in all, I’m happy. I'm glad I have them and I'll keep them. I’ve probably had them for 15 years. I have enough experiences where I've had mostly good, but some bad.

    The microwave door latch was broken and the tech who fixed it was great. He was there within 24 hours. I had several issues with my pool also and the only thing is, American Home Shield didn’t pay the guy very promptly. He started sending me bills and it was an approved request. It probably took three months to get paid so, that didn't go over very well. But the claims process with AHS was great. I wish they could customize packages a little better though.     I have an American Home Shield Platinum plan. On February 14th 2023, I filed a claim for my water heater. The heater had stopped heating properly and developed a small leak from the bottom port. They dispatched a plumbing company and they responded a few days later. They advised they completed the repair and American Home Shield closed out the ticket. Almost immediately after their repair the small leak became a significant leak. It eventually developed into a leak out of the top and bottom port and the top of the unit. I had to shut off the water to the unit. I reported the continuing problem to American Home Shield a second time. They dispatched the same plumbing company out again. The plumbing company advised the only way to fix the problem was to replace the unit. They advised they would send the paperwork over to American Home Shield to process the claim.

    The next day American Home Shield denied my claim. They stated that the plumber instructed them that there was a pre-existing issue with the water heater. This was clearly false as it was never notated on the first repair. The first repair was accepted and paid by American Home Shield without issue. It was only after the second more costly repair was submitted that they alleged it was a pre-existing issue. Even in the note in the claim on the website it states that the leak was due to normal wear and tear, “the plumber found garage when leaking, due to n/w/t…" This is clearly covered under the contract.

    American Home Shield tries to play innocent and say they can only go by what their plumber says. It appears this plumber gets the vast majority of their business from American Home Shield. They have refused to replace my water heater and want to charge me $1,400 out of pocket. It was reported the first sign of a leak. There was never an issue with the water heater of any kind prior to me reporting it.

    When the icemaker goes on, it works for the first day and then after that, it freezes up. It's like the water freezes in the icemaker area and drops into the tub, and then you can't get ice out of your dispenser. The contractor has been out here multiple times trying to get it fixed. They've changed a couple of parts out. The last two times they've come out, they've tested other things. They've done things to try to analyze why this is happening. Supposedly, this next time they're supposed to be coming out, which is on the 12th of the month, they are supposedly going to get some kind of either a timer.

    The tech said something about evacuating the Freon out of the unit and then re-putting it back in. But I don't know exactly what they're doing because he talked about a couple of other things. He said some of these refrigerators, you do one thing and then the other thing doesn't work. But he seemed to be very knowledgeable. The contractor has been very good. The only thing is that it seems like this last time, it's taking a long time in between when the tech was here last till when he's supposed to be coming out again. But they've been very polite and scheduled properly this last time. It's probably because of the holidays.

    I contacted American Home Shield when we had a slab leak. The kitchen drain that runs to the main line had cracked and the pipe ran in the concrete in our crawl space. The contractor came out and said that the concrete would need to be busted up and they would have to replace the pipe, and it was $2,800. On Saturday, the plumber came out and stated off the bat that it would be two trips because he did not have concrete that day. So he had to replace the pipe, and water was accumulating for days and days. He had us in an uproar. He said, "I'm worried about your foundation. We shouldn't fill this hole back in."

    Long story short, we ended up having a structural engineer come out and $800 later, the engineer told us that our house was just fine. So then we called the plumber back and he texted my wife and said to give him a call so we could get this scheduled. I've reached out to him multiple times, but no one is returning my phone calls. I've been calling American Home Shield but every time I talk to someone, they say that they're taking notes. American Home Shield doesn't know all these things about this contractor, but all they had to do is bring out a bag of concrete and fix the slab. But it's like pulling teeth. I've already paid them. I wish I would have went back and got a second opinion. When we had another plumbing problem, the plumber was fantastic and that was through American Home Shield too. So it's a night and day difference.

    I'm very pleased with my service with American Home Shield. I go online, I submit my request, I pay my service fee, and then they send it over to a local repair agent and the repair agent schedules me an appointment. The techs have been very good.     I submitted a plumbing claim over the phone with AHS and their reps took down the concern. They coordinated to have somebody reach out to me and the turnaround time was less than 24 hours. The tech needed to replace a hose on the toilet. Then with my sink, it had disconnected and I could not fill it. So he unplugged it up and had to rejoin something underneath the sink. He took care of the problems quickly. When the tech was here last time, he put in a whole piece of black hose that sat vertical and he said that it gets filled up with water. He told me that it did and he needed to replace it. So he did. But yesterday, I could still hear the water running.

    It's weird how much my payments are compared to how much it cost for me to get somebody in for service. It cost $100 to get somebody in here for service, and my bill every month is 50 bucks.     AHS is a valuable service long term. I own several properties and all of them have American Home Shield because, generally speaking, it does the job. I recently had a claim and my experience was really easy and straightforward. I was very happy. I set up a service call and the techs called immediately that day. Then, they showed up the next morning, immediately diagnosed it, came back next day with a part, and installed the part. So everything was unusually quickly done. American Home Shield's systems and escalation process have improved over the years. I've had more serious issues with them before and nearly discontinued service, but that hasn't happened in many years and things have been pretty good lately. Everything really depends on the quality of a contractor. So if I'm lucky with a contractor, they'll do the job quickly. If not, then not.

    My washer broke and my dryer wasn't drying correctly. So, I called American Home Shield and the tech came in. It took him a week, but they were busy, so we waited until he came. He was very polite. He knew everything he had to check and do, and he was very quick. He checked the washer and there was nothing he could do, so he sent the paperwork for them to replace it. The paperwork took just a couple of days, but they got it and I chose my replacement, and the dryer dried correctly when he came in. He checked it and it was fine. But five days later, it stopped trying. So, I called again. AHS called him again. He came and fixed what the dryer did. When they have so much, I have to wait until they have an appointment, but when they come out, they do their job. The last time that I had called for this problem, AHS was quick. I told them why I needed it, and they said, “Okay. Fine.” It didn't take them long to set up everything for me. I tell everybody that I know to get AHS because I'm very happy with them.

    We noticed we had a couple of leaks. So, iPlumb came out. Based on the time that they had to spend, they fixed the one. Scheduling was difficult at times, just the communication with them. They never showed up. We had to have them come back out again to address the leak behind the shower. They communicated when they were coming. They had to have access to get into the spot in order to fix it. The technician impressed me with his diligence and tenacity in fixing the problem. It was the worst night that we had here. It was raining cold. He had a good attitude about it. He stuck it out.

    Shortly after we moved in, I was unable to open the garage door. It would only go up halfway and it would go back down. A garage door guy came out and fixed it. I pursued American Home Shield about some kind of reimbursement in a situation like that. I talked to three people. I got nowhere. They hung the phone up on me. They would send me to, “Oh, here's our survey.” Click. That was before we started calling for these other problems that we ran into. AHS sent out a person to rekey our locks. That was included in our service. And we've had a plumber and an electrician come out. They were fine. But they didn't want to hear anything about what had happened when we first moved in. So, it was a $600 bill we had to put out for the garage door, in which I wasn't looking for all of that, but some kind of help, because I know that things happen. Our timing was horrible, but nobody could explain to us why we couldn't get coverage that early.

    When I have a problem, I call them and American Home Shield solves it. Sometimes it's easier to call them. And they assign me right away to somebody. Sometimes the people call me, sometimes I call them. They come and try to fix it. It has been good. They fixed my dishwasher. Now it's the microwave.     I did an HVAC request October of last year, and the contractor fixed it in January. It was a big headache, specifically that service technician.     GE Appliances came out, looked at the job that the first people did that left my dryer noisier than it was. When the first people came, they split the rubber that was supposed to be doubled and used it to repair the dryer and didn't use the entire amount that was supposed to go on. When GE came and ordered the part, the part came. The gentleman who did the repair showed me where the first repair did not include the rubber that goes around the drum. He said, "You shouldn't have any more problems now." He turned it on and sure enough, I've had no problems since.

    I kept trying to call the first people back, but couldn't get them back. And when I called American Home Shield, they tried to contact that first provider but they couldn't get through to them. So, the person that I had would continue to try to get through to the first provider. And I said, "It's been over a week and me trying to contact that first provider. After three days, if you can't give me another provider to repair my dryer, I may need to have to contact somebody else and pay all my own, and I will have to get back to you all with making the payment." So, the young lady that I had said, "Since your appliance is a GE, let me contact GE and see if they can fit you in." And that's exactly what they did. My dryer was fixed correctly and I have not had any problems since.

    The tech who came out for my recent claim with AHS was very professional. He listened to me. He checked different sources for it and said that he would go back and report the problem because it couldn't be fixed. They made a report and it all got taken care of.

    I've had some issues with AHS, though. With DGM Electric, they came within two days. With A&S Plumbing, they came within two days. But with replacing my refrigerator, for them to even come to check to see what was wrong with it took over two weeks. It took them another three weeks to decide that they couldn't repair it and would replace the refrigerator and then waited more to have the refrigerator delivered. So, I was without a refrigerator for close to eight weeks.

    We saw water on the carpet initially, and then we turned off the faucets and isolated the issue. I was able to dry the carpets and the wall parts really quickly, so there was no damage. Then, I filed the claim with AHS to have it fixed. They assigned Plumbers, Inc. The tech came out but this guy really didn't have any tools to penetrate walls. We turned the water on for them but then he wasn't able to isolate the leak at first. We had to show him. He was gonna write a report and submit it. 10 days passed by, I gave them a call. They said they were gonna call back in a few days but they never did. A couple more weeks passed, so I ended up calling AHS who said on their end, it's all closed. All this time, he had not submitted the report. AHS called the company a couple of times. Then they finally submitted the reports, and it said, “Stress fracture due to soil movement on the drain pipe.” So my claim was denied.

    I requested a second opinion. They offered me the second opinion and said, “We're gonna get somebody out there, and if it's the same thing, you're gonna have to pay another $75.” I said, “Let me see the report first. I don't know what this guy wrote.” They told me it was denied due to soil movement. They said, “Okay. We're gonna send an email for them to send the report to you.” But nothing happened. Finally, I called AHS again and said, "I'm not receiving anything.” By that time, it's been two weeks. Then they told me, “Your seven-day second opinion period has passed.” They didn't tell me that there was a time limit on a second opinion. Since I never got the report, I never initiated that.

    Then we got into big arguments with American Home Shield, saying they first denied me a second opinion. I kept asking, and then they said they were gonna listen to the records and then they would call me back. They never did. Then somebody else called me and they were wondering if I wanted to renew my contract. I said what was going on. They finally said, “Okay. Let me connect you one more time to customer service.”

    I told them I wanted a second opinion and they finally gave it to me. But when the GVS guy came out, he said the same thing. “Yes, this thing cracked, but who knows why?” Then he submitted his report, and then two days later, they approved the thing, and then he came out really quickly and fixed it. Everything is good now. No leakage. But I have a cut in the wall. I don't know if that's covered or not. AHS is really hard to deal with. One time, my fridge stopped working. It wouldn’t cool enough. I called them and the techs de-iced it. Then it took three months to get the ice back again. Same problem. I called them and said, “This is happening the same issue. What can you do?” They said, “You should have called within 30 days.”

The only problem was having to wait on the part. I also didn't like that every time I had to do something, they never had a part and I had to wait at least a week or two for a part to come in.     My refrigerator went out. And it took them over two weeks for it to be replaced when they could have given me a gift card from Lowe's. They said it would take three to five days to load it up. I didn't like that part. I went on and ordered it through them. They said 7 to 10 days. But it was longer than that because the company they deal with was all booked up for two weeks. So, we were out of the refrigerator for over two weeks. I had to buy ice every day and put it in a cooler.     I like that whatever issues I have, I can just call American Home Shield, and if they take care of it, then they send someone out to take care of it. I got an email or a text that had their name and phone number and that they would be reaching out. The tech showed us what happened with the icemaker and why it broke. He commented that it was fairly common because it's a plastic gear that failed and he said he would order a new one. He did and came on a Sunday and put it back in.     The microwave wasn’t running and the claims rep from American Home Shield was very knowledgeable and helpful. They got me to the right people. When the techs called, they said they were gonna be here and they were right on time. They were experienced and did everything they had to do. They got back with me and kept me updated on the status of the parts they were trying to get. Everything was good timing. They said something else was wrong with the microwave. They did some work and that didn't work. Then, they said the transformer was bad. American Home Shield said to replace the microwave and I’m still waiting for it. We had to order one and they can't get it to me till the 14th. AHS is supposed to reimburse me.

    People should go for AHS. You'll save some money. If something breaks, like a water heater and if you got to replace that, some people don't have the cash right then and there. AHS covers you either way. They'll send somebody to try to fix it. If they can't get it fixed it, they will replace it. The coverage is reasonable and honest. AHS say they're gonna do what they're gonna do, and then do it. They just help you out, and they replace and get you back on track.

    The air conditioner wasn't blowing cold air. The guy came out, recognized the problem was one of the switches, and replaced the switch. He explained everything he was doing and what the issue was. He was efficient, too. It took him about 20 minutes and he was done. I then checked the Freon level, added a little bit to it which didn't take much, and that was the end of it. American Home Shield's service has worked the way it's supposed to and I've never had a problem with them. Every once in a while, they'll select some contractor that's got a beat-up pickup trunk and you question whether or not the person has the ability.     The air conditioner went out and AHS didn't cover it. The manufacturer only has a five-year warranty on the air conditioning unit itself, and the installer failed to register the product, which would give it another five years of warranty. So, American Home Shield gave us a discount, but they didn't pay for it like they should have.

    The outlets went out in one of the bedrooms, and the contractor came in and found the problem. Turned out it was just a loose wire that had never been connected. And I didn't know how it worked for the last six years, but it did. The tech figured it out, opened up the outlet, said “There's the problem,” and fixed it. He also adjusted the GFCI. I had put in a new GFCI, thinking that was the problem. It was connected to the same circuit, and that wasn't the problem, but I connected it wrong. He fixed that for me. He was here for 15 minutes and took off.

    When we call or request help, American Home Shield was very quick to take up whatever we were doing. They've been good to work with. The contractor came out they were going to order a part, but AHS couldn't get parts on that dishwasher. It was too old. We were going to put in the other one, but we were looking at dishwashers to see if we wanted to upgrade. And we got a thing on the computer that everything was handled, but it wasn't. They offered to replace the dishwasher. But what they put in was not as good as the one that quit working.

    I was with American Home Shield when I was in the old house and also when we moved to this brand-new house. With the home warranty, they have people who can fix things when they fall apart. I had two refrigerators and the door of the one in the kitchen wasn't working. We did a claim and we had to wait for one of the parts. American Home Shield said it was gonna be 8 to 24 weeks.     American Home Shield's reps have been pretty good about cutting up an appointment to get my appliances fixed. It's a little difficult to understand a couple of them, but I just told them to speak a little slower and I was able to figure out what they were saying to me. The techs have all been courteous and clean. They knew exactly what they were doing and they fixed everything that I've had my issues with. Since the repairs, my appliances have worked great. AHS says what they do and they do what they say. They get people out here within a couple of days and typically, they fix the problem the same day they're here. If not, they order the part and get it right back out here when it's available.

    We've had to call American Home Shield for two different things in the past few months, and they've been very good. The first time was a furnace issue, and this last one was for my Samsung refrigerator. The guy got it working right. It was the ice maker. He fixed that, but it quit working again. He came right back out without charging me for that and has ordered me a new ice maker which I'm waiting for.

    I've been very pleased with American Home Shield's promise. They're taking care of things. It's a good idea to have them. It doesn't cost very much per month and they've saved us a lot of money. They pay what you need them to pay. We were with them a while back, and we dropped them because it was ending up that they weren't doing what they said they were gonna do. But now they seem to have reformed. The only thing is after a service man comes out, it isn't uncommon to get a note that says, "I hope I did a good job and you'll be getting a survey to fill out."

AHS got the tech person who I needed to talk to and to get the work done and that person effectively and efficiently contacted me and everything got done. It took a while for me to get the work done, which unfortunately was not good for time because it was a water heater. It was five days for me before they got the part and the tech got back out there. It could have been a bit faster, but it got done. And it would have been expensive for me to come out of pocket.

    I've used American Home Shield on two occasions already and they've been awesome. The most recent claim was for the dishwasher. The handle broke and the thing was old and they couldn't get the parts for it anymore. So, that's how we ended up with a new dishwasher. It cost us $200 out of our pocket. The plumber they sent was all right, but I ended up having a leaky faucet underneath the shut-off valve. I had to replace it myself so I wouldn't have a problem. Other than that, they came right down to do the job.

    The only other thing I had just recently was they came and rekeyed our house. They offer that for free if I took the next level up on it. They came on Tuesday. The only problem I had is one key must have been off a little bit. It would unlock the door, but I couldn't turn it the other way to lock it. I had the girl make up six keys and all the other ones work fine. It was just going to be a spare one. I'll just get another one.

    I shopped American Home Shield well. My mother-in-law got the same company. She lives down the street. The end result is AHS had good reputation, but I was concerned because I picked the $67 thing and the $125 thing, and if things didn't break, it's like an insurance thing. I'm paying $67 for nothing. But eventually, stuff happened. AHS did my refrigerator and dishwasher. Would the contractor have the parts in the car? When they came out and saw what they needed, they had no parts to do it. So, they came back and fixed. And the tech was a nice guy too. The ice maker wasn't doing its thing. So, it was a broken part. He fixed it, life was good, done. That worked well.

    The light switches would arc and spark. The first company that AHS sent out scheduled the appointment and said he would be late but he never showed up. He said he was sick, so he had to change the date. We changed the date but he never showed up. When I called back and growled at AHS and said, "This is my second time using you. And the first time was good, the second is not so good. What are you gonna do about it?" They would go ahead and call an electrical company to do its thing. I said, "I don't want to have the same company. Give me a different electricity company for repairs." They said, "Okay."

    I got a thing back and it was the same company that screwed me the first time. So, I was, "That's not good. I'll call back and tell them that I'm not gonna have that company come." AHS brought out another company quickly, which was nice, because my wife was concerned that the house would burn down. She wanted those things fixed. So, we had a guy come and he was a very good older gentleman, nice, and organized. And he fixed everything and we were done.

    I got American Home Shield right when I retired. I just pay the call fee and almost everything else is covered. A-Fix Service came out recently for our dishwasher that was leaking. They called right away, but it took a little time to get them here. The technician was very knowledgeable. He didn't speak English. So, it was hard to communicate with him, but he tried hard, and he fixed it. It's working well now.

    What happens with the warranty is that they lowball everything. When they call and they order service, everything's at the lowest possible price, which I suppose is a good business model but that means then sometimes on the side, they're having to ask for more money to do the repair. So, that happened with our garage door opener. The tech could replace the motor for the price that AHS was offering them, but he couldn't do what he needed to do. So, we had to pay a couple of hundred dollars more to get it to be totally fixed.

    I've been with American Home Shield for 15 years, and they have already done everything that the contract says that they would do. We had a claim on our refrigerator. And the guy came out the next day, repaired it and no additional cost to us except for the service fee. We had him come out on the hot water heater. That was repaired the next day and very pleased with that. They also replaced the dishwasher six months ago.

    They have a service fee that we have to pay, which is about $75. We have to pay that. But all the ones except for the dishwasher, we had to pay an additional $100. We don't have to worry about a big expense if something was to break in the house. It's easier to pay that $75 or $100 than it is to have a big expense when something breaks down. So, I'm pleased with everything. We got other quotes from different companies, but anybody would not do any better than what AHS has done.

    I had a bathroom fan with a heater element portion that had failed. H & C Electric came out and quickly assessed it and ordered a part for it, and when the part came in, they replaced it. When I called American Home Shield, H & C came the next day. I put in the claim early evening and somebody called and said, "We'll have a person out that way tomorrow. Will that work for you?" I said, "Absolutely, yeah." They were very efficient, very clean and tidy, and they kept me informed. I'm happy with the service. I would gladly have them come out if I had anything else electrical. They seem to know their stuff and they keep you informed of when they're coming and they're on time and they send you a link that says they're on the way. If you want to, you can track their location. You can track their progress towards your house and it gives you an ETA as well.

    As far as claims, I just use their portal or the Home Shield website. I don't ever talk to them. I haven't had to. You just go in there, log into your account, and put in your request for service. They assign it to some vendor, that vendor contacts you, and once you get it going, they're out of the loop until it's closed out. AHS works well for me.

    I like the online option with American Home Shield of being able to schedule online and seeing immediately who your contractor is. I also like being able to pay it online and you don't have to submit your payment to the contractor. The claim when Veteran Heating came out was great. I called it in on a Sunday and the tech was there by Friday and had the air conditioner fixed that same day. American Home Shield is reliable and helpful, and I've not had any issues that they've refused to cover. Everybody that's been there has typically been very good. There's been a time a couple of years ago that I denied having the contractor back because they were incredibly rude. But I called American Home Shield, and they were very apologetic and said that that person is not gonna be back. And they sent somebody else out.

    My washing machine which is relatively new has a control board that is not working correctly so I have to restart the laundry a number of times sometimes. And AHS is waiting for the part to come in. We're looking at March now and it's been since November. They told me that it should be about eight weeks from a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still looking at another month and a half. It's not the fault of AHS. It's just manufacturing at this point in time.

    My experience with American Home Shield has been good. They've always covered my claims, including air conditioning and a refrigerator issue we had. On the other hand, my experience with this recent repair is no good. I did a claim for an issue with an electrical breaker, and it was not repaired because the electrician said that the breakers had to be replaced. According to the electrician, it was not covered by the warranty, which was a bit of a surprise to me. However, I haven't talked to American Home Shield, and they haven't called me either. It would be great if they followed up with me on the repair, not me following up with them. Still, I had to resolve the issue and replace the breakers. I needed the electricity.

    I make the request from my phone and just process things, and I typically get a call from the representative for scheduling. It’s been a seamless process to schedule something. But I had to make numerous calls that I had to proactively follow up after submitting the claim for the garbage disposal to American Home Shield. But it was primarily as a result of the selected contractor. Having AHS cuts down on having to do a lot of the legwork myself. The deductible rate is 125 and it may not be the best pricing with competitors out there, but I've just had the policy for quite some time.

    I had a plumbing claim and from the date of submission to someone coming out was over two months. I had a tech that didn't show up three times. AHS didn't have enough people and they had no backup to send out. They only had one contractor that was available for over two months and that guy never came out. They have other contractors but for whatever reason, during the two-month period, there was no one else for me to contact and I just had to wait. They gave me an alternative, which is to get my own, but it's a major pain to work with AHS if it's not their contractor. I was not gonna do that because no contractor is gonna spend two hours on the phone for $150.

    The most ridiculous thing I've dealt with is I didn't have a working dishwasher for nine months. We slowly replaced every single piece in it and it still didn't work. had 15 appointments here. AHS said as long as the contractor says they can fix it, they're gonna authorize and I get it, they're not fixers. But they just spent $800 on a thing that doesn't even work now. My frustration was the duration of nine months was a bit excessive.

    But overall, I'm happy with AHS. I find them incredibly reasonable. They've replaced three appliances for me. I've learned how to navigate their approval systems and everything. The contractors are great, but you can also see what tier they're in. Some of them are gonna be like, "Hey, we came out here for a leak and it's not a leak, so we're gonna go." They have every right to do that, but the homeowner gets frustrated. So I just check everything and it's not a problem. I have pool coverage and if I don't know what's wrong with it, I'm gonna check everything.

    Also, I am so grateful that they do chat because I had to wait on the phone for a minimum of 45 minutes. My average was an hour and a half, which is ridiculous. And I really try to understand what people are trying to say, with accents and so on, but I find it's much more time-effective in communicating with them via chat. The chat has cut down things. Another thing is in the last year, a higher caliber of contractors are showing up in my house - not that they weren't capable before. Anyone with a 30+-year-old house or a house bought from a flipper should be under AHS.

    I filed a claim for a drippy faucet through the American Home Shield website. Immediately, 5point Plumbing was assigned. Then I heard from them that afternoon, and somebody came over the next day or two. It was quick. I didn't wait too long for a plumber to come out. He finished the repair that day. He was professional and friendly. As far as AHS, it's a little pricey for the service calls. It was like $60 a call. Now, it's 100 bucks. Luckily, I don't have to call them that often.

    This past summer, I had to use American Home Shield for my air conditioning unit, and that wasn't a great experience. I didn’t really have a lot of options. My AC unit needed to be replaced. So, the technician that came out said, “Well, we could repair it, but it's only gonna be a Band-Aid.” The AC unit was probably as old as the condo, so I decided to replace it. I'm just not happy with the AC unit that they replaced it with. I was unfamiliar with the brand although they're a division of Carrier, which is an AC brand I would have recognized. It's probably the noisiest AC unit I've ever heard. So, I'm pretty pissed off about. When it kicks on, it's noisy. When it's on, it’s noisy. It makes moaning sounds. It doesn't do it all the time. I thought my house was haunted at first because I heard weird sounds that I've never heard before. It turned out when I went outside, it was my AC unit.

    It happened to be right next to my living room wall, and my bedroom is right above my living room, so I hear it from upstairs as well. I'm stuck with it because it was a whole day of these guys doing the installation. I had somebody come and check it out. They didn't find anything wrong with it. So, I don't know if it's the nature of the Bryant air conditioning. That was the only unit offered. I didn't have a lot of options, and I didn't have a lot of time because it was in the middle of summer. It was up to 98 degrees inside my home, so I couldn't be without air conditioning. I was without AC for almost a week, too. It was a long time in that heat.

    Then, when the unit was finally installed, there is a main hose that connects from my exterior wall to the unit. It sticks out a little bit. It's right in a path that goes from the walkway outside my condo to my yard. So, it's not the cleanest installation. I think AHS is hit-and-miss. The plumber who came by and fixed my sink was fine. The air conditioning guys that came by to fixed my unit were friendly and professional. They were just filthy and left a big mess from them going up and down the stairs all day.

    The rep from American Home Shield was good and professional when I called to submit a claim for my refrigerator. The tech who came out was very respectful. He said because of the make of the refrigerator, they couldn't get parts for it like everybody else. They couldn't repair it and the max that AHS would pay for a replacement was $295. I had a choice of going with what they wanted from Lowe's, but I went and picked out something different and paid the difference. Everything has been good with AHS. Every time I submit a call, somebody's out by the next week. But when I call AHS, I get an automated system, and I need to explain in details sometimes. With my bathroom, I had a plumbing issue. There was a problem with the toilet and then, there was a problem with the bath. So, I needed to explain exactly what was the problem on each of the services. That way, they’d be well-informed of what the problems are.

    I had some problems with American Home Shield about a year ago. They double-charged me. They were supposed to have sent someone out to do some service for me and the guy could not do the work because of the type of pipes I got in my basement. So, I had to call AHS to have them send someone back out. The rep told me I would have to put up an additional $75 and I would get it back within two weeks. But it took me almost a year to get it back. I had to keep calling and reminding them. But everything is okay now. The repair guys who came out to repair the pipes in the basement did a good job.

    Last year, AHS sent this plumbing company out to fix my sump pumps in the basement because they had stopped working. When the guy came out and looked at it, he said that I might need a new sump pump. But they didn't explain everything to me and I asked if I could get a battery put on the sump pump in case the electric goes out. I knew AHS wasn't gonna pay for the battery. I understood that but I did not know that they could have still paid to have the new sump pump put in. So, I ended up having to come out of my pocket and pay for the new sum pump along with the battery. I had to get a loan for that because the guy didn't take my Wells Fargo card. I have my ups and downs from American Home Shield. Sometimes, they come through and sometime, they don't. I have to stay on top of it.

    I had to have been satisfied because I wouldn't be with AHS all these years but when I call them, I always remind them that they never called back and asked me how the people who came out were and how the service was. Because if they called me back when I had to put the additional money down on that sump pump, something could have been done right then and there.

    Suppose they send someone out and do the work, and it may be just a little thing that might've cost about $15 for them to do. But they might go back and say they had to do about a $200 job, which is what I don't like. I didn't know anything about a breaker and the guy came out. He went in the laundry room and it cost me $75 just for him to hit the little button. But I don't know what he told AHS. They never called back to see if I was satisfied with the people that they sent out. The repair guy can go back and say they did a big job and they may not have done anything.

    There was one incident when our light fan in the kitchen started wobbling. Even on the low speed, it started wobbling like the whole thing would fall. So, I called about it and the technician came out and said it was defective, that it would be replaced. But we got another call saying that another technician would come out and he said it was damaged because of what we did to it. We damaged it somehow, so they wouldn't replace it. How could we damage a fan? It's on the kitchen ceiling, above the kitchen table. We couldn't use it. The light works, but it's the fan.     Whenever somebody would flush the toilet, the water would come back up. I called AHS. The techs got here faster than I thought. The first guy came but he said he was having a problem. He called up a more experienced drain guy technician and they snaked out and we could see the water come out of the drain. But the next couple of days, it started doing it again. I called them and they came right back out the same day I called them. The guy started snaking again and we found a foreign object in the drain.

    Both of the techs were very professional and courteous. The first guy that came out was more of the newer technicians for them and he was a little reluctant about how to do what he needed to do so he called in a guy to come out. The more experienced technician came right on out and helped him. Everything's fine. I haven't had any problems now. Overall, everything AHS has done for us has been right on point.

    However, they like to repair stuff instead of replacing stuff. Although, I got them to replace my refrigerator that went out and it couldn't be fixed. But for years, we had a problem with this AC unit that we bought when we got this house and they went through a lot of compressors, one after another. Then it was Freon leaking. I kept saying, "Why don't you put a new one in?" They said, "No, we can fix this one." I got to the point where my wife and I just said, "We bought a brand-new AC unit."

    A lower burner in my oven had worn out and broke. So, the contractor had to order a new one and they came out and installed it. I could have done it myself in 10 minutes. It was just that it had to be ordered. So, we had to wait for it to come in. It took a couple of weeks. But once the part came, the tech brought it right away and installed it. He was a nice man.     One of the stove burners stopped working. I made a claim on the website of American Home Shield and it was user-friendly, so I didn't have any issues to submit the request. They assigned the repair company and they contacted me. We then scheduled a time and date, and they called me 15 minutes before arriving at my home, so I had plenty of time to go home and be ready for them to arrive. When they arrived, they fixed the issue very fast. They had very good customer service and expertise on what they were doing.

    I also had issues with the refrigerator, the range, and the microwave. I started a claim with AHS, then the techs came and they fixed the range and the microwave. They also tried to fix the refrigerator but in the end, American Home Shield gave me money to buy a new refrigerator because the old one was very old, so there weren't parts available anymore. I'd recommend AHS and I would like to continue with the coverage because it's cheaper to pay a copay than pay a technician to come and fix things or give maintenance to my air conditioning. Every time that they stop by to give maintenance to the air conditioning or to check what is wrong with it, they charge you at least 80 per hour. So just with the copay that I had of 75, even though they take longer, I don't worry about it.

I finally did something about it which was to have the contractor find another way to plug it in. It turned out there was a plug behind the pump, and it was a working one. So, they plugged it in there and was done. I paid the $125 for them to come in and plug something. I recommend AHS.

    Fairly bad experience. 1 out of 5 claims have been addressed over 8 months on a new home purchase. The contractors they get are the generally the worst of the worst. Think lower trained skilled folks or others that could not be hired by a reputable service provider. My guess is these contractors don't like working as an AHS contractor and so put in little effort, or AHS does little work to vet their contractors. In either case, if you get a bad one they WILL NOT assign a new one to you without you paying another $75-100 request fee.

    In two cases the contractor AHS assigned just refused to show up or do the basic inspection (and/or not call me back after reaching out to them 15 times). In another case the company is saying minor pre-existing conditions are not covered, even though during the sales process they will say they are. Another contractor just tried to leave the house without even telling me what was fixed and if it was fixed (which it wasn't). Another did "fix it" for it to not work the first time I tried it.

    Sadly, when you call customer service they are not helpful. The contractors tell you upfront the service won't cover much. I feel they set this system up with poor contractors to take people's money without providing any service. The ONLY good experience has been the person that re-keyed the locks. He did an amazing job. The rest has been a waste of time (literally days of back and forth) and money.

    I've had repairs done and it's been fine except for this last one which was just recently. I had a leak and they cut a hole in my kitchen ceiling. But they want me to have somebody move a tub so that they can fix underneath it. I think it is a little ironic. It makes more work for me.     I called AHS to file a claim for my washing machine and it was easy to get through to a rep. They took the claim and gave me a number of who will be coming out. The contractor called me with an appointment and when the tech came out, he was nice. Everything was well. The only thing with AHS was I was surprised to learn that I had to add money when they did my refrigerator. I didn't know I was gonna have to pay part of the cost if something is wrong and it has to be replaced. I did not see that in the policy. Other than that, everything has worked well for me.

    I'm very impressed with American Home Shield. My policy has been in effect for over three years now. My wife now has a policy, and we're both very satisfied. It's a peace of mind not to have to worry about the unexpected because we know we're both taken care of. On our latest claim for a water leak problem, they sent out a company, and I was very impressed and satisfied. It turned out that I had to have a regulator valve installed. Unfortunately, they didn't cover that particular item. That was the only thing that I didn't like about that experience. I had to pay the full price. Otherwise, all the other experiences were most pleasant, and they handled everything properly. I would recommend them to anyone.

    The last contractor they sent out was after the company installed the regular valve. He had to cut a hole into the drywall of the home to install the regular valve. Unfortunately, the plumbing company does not reseal the wall. So American Home Shield sent out another company. I really wasn't totally crazy about the way they did their job. The plumber said, "Don't cover the regulator. Don't completely cover it up. Space something over it to emergency open it if you have to." These people that put the drywall on there said they can't do that. They just stuck a piece of drywall over the whole hole and covered the regulator valve up as well. If I have to get in to the regulator valve or if I need to regulate the pressure of the home, I've got to cut a hole back through the drywall to get to it.

    I wasn't happy about that portion. Otherwise, I'm very much happy about all the other services. Overall, our experience with American Home Shield is extraordinary. They're a very good company. I recognize them as a Christian-oriented company and as one Christian in this world today, I think they're well representative toward their service to their clientele.

    We had a washing machine that broke down. I called AHS. They sent somebody to evaluate the situation within two days. That person came and saw that it was the drum. He said that he was gonna report that and they would make a decision about whether they would repair it or give me a new one. Within two days, I got an email with a list of four pages of products that I could choose from to replace my machine. I picked one that would be zero charge, that was a pretty much equal match to what I had.

    There was an issue because I had a dryer on a stand. It was a compact unit. The dryer was attached to the stand. They would have had to take out the old washing machine and put in the new one. But they didn't want to do that. I was told because of the plan that I had, I had to get somebody else to come in and remove the dryer and the unit. They didn't want to be responsible. But I understood that. So I had somebody else do that. American Home Shield sent another company back. Everything was a very fast turnover. They came back and they installed the washing machine within a few minutes. They also came within the window they were supposed to come. They worked very quickly and were here for 15 minutes. Overall, AHS saved me a lot of money. I went to a local appliance store to see the machine and it was over $1,000. I got it without paying anything. So I was very happy with that.

    When Chesapeake came out, they told me that my claim was not an appliance issue, that it was a plumbing issue. When H and L Plumbing first came out, they did the switch for my garbage disposal. They informed me once the garbage disposal was working, the water in the dishwasher would drain out, but that didn't happen. Then they sent the plumbing back out here 'cause they were saying it was a clog in the garbage disposal, which was not.

    I kept getting the runaround with American Home Shield to the point that the plumber company kept calling me and she agreed with me when I kept telling her it was not a plumbing issue, it was an appliance issue. Then they finally sent somebody out last week and the gentleman took care of it. Also, one time they sent a plumber out and the gentleman told me something in my bathroom that the whole underneath would have to be torn apart. I called somebody else, which was a friend. He came in and he fixed it under $20.

    Last December 29th, the techs came to fix the refrigerator and ordered a part for it. But they haven't gotten back to me. I called yesterday as I thought the part was taking too long to come in. The guy told me that they couldn't find it or they weren't making it anymore. They asked me if Home Shield called to let me know what the next step was going to be and I said, "No.". So, they said they were gonna report it and I should wait a couple of days to see if AHS will call me back and see what the next step was gonna be.

    One time, one of the faucets outside my daughter's house broke and it was leaking. They didn't tell me that they wouldn't cover an outside faucet. I didn't know that until after the repairman came and called in. He said, "Well, they're not gonna cover it. So, it's either I fix it or nothing." But I had already paid the $100 for the service call. I had to pay the plumber to fix it plus the $100 just to send them out here to tell me they couldn't do anything about it. Other than that, AHS has been okay.

    I had a dryer that wasn't drying. No heat was coming out, so I called American Home Shield, and they called the repair people up. We made an appointment and they were here exactly when they were supposed to come. They told me that they had to order a part, that the coil was broken. The service was very good, and my dryer is working now. All in all, American Home Shield responded well, and I would tell people to join. They cover a lot of appliances and appliances are expensive to repair these days.

    I live in Tampa, Florida and have tried to use the policy several times. They have never once got anything right or you can never speak to anyone but a customer service rep. Even when your ceiling is caving in. They just don't care. I have been waiting 5 days for a supervisor call back. I already had some of the work completed by getting my own person in on all jobs thus far. They take too long to get resolution, my current issue has bounced back and forth between plumber and HVAC. My guy said it's HVAC and fixed the issue. Now I have hole in my ceiling... It's a waste of money.

    Put in a work order for my refrigerator five months ago. Despite numerous visits to "repair" my refrigerator, it is now in worse shape than it was with initial work order. After multiple attempts to get it fixed, we asked for a replacement, but was only offered more work repair visits. Finally cancelled our policy, without a repaired or replaced refrigerator, as the renewal date was approaching but it took over an hour on phone with sales department to cancel because I was constantly muted while talking then offered multiple discounted rates to renew policy. Also went well over month (in Louisiana) without a working A/C, while multiple repair techs over a period of four weeks came out to give their opinions. It was, however, eventually replaced.

    I've called American Home Shield about three times for three different issues. They've been very professional and good. I did a claim for when my unit was making a really loud, cranky noise. My upstairs got heated up to 78 so I figured it stopped working. I called American Home Shield and they were very prompt. They sent somebody over immediately the next day but I couldn't hold the appointment so we had to reschedule. And then given the rain, it was another two days before a tech came. When he did, he was very good. Within 15 minutes, he knew where the problem was. He said he would have to order a part, come back the next day, and have it installed. He did it.     My furnace stopped working the Friday before Christmas Eve. I called the people who had done the work in October and the tech then said the furnace needed a new blower motor. He did that and everything was fine. I called AHS for the current issue and they couldn't get anyone out on the 23rd, 24th or 25th. It would be the next week before anyone could come. We found a different company that said they could come that day. I left town and left the tech a key. He said the issue was the pressure switch and he was able to bypass it with something else. He didn't have the correct part and he had to order it. When the part came, he put it in and left my key at the house for me. When I got back from family Christmas, everything was working fine.

    But I had a problem with my garage door opener and the first tech who came tried to scam me. I called AHS about it and told me that if I wanted a second opinion, I would have to pay another $100 fee for another company to come. If they said the same thing that the scammer did, I wouldn't have to pay anything more. But if they said something different, I would have to pay the extra $100. Other than that, in most of the cases where I needed things taken care of, the person out and take care of it in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was done to my satisfaction.

    The dishwasher started leaking, so the seal around the door was deteriorating. American Home Shield sent a plumber out here. Instead of sending a GE Monogram guy, they sent the cheapest guy they can get. He looked at the thing and said, "There's nothing wrong with the thing." I told him, "It was leaking, but it's not leaking this second, so why don't you check behind the seal. You can see the watermarks." But he said, "It's fine." So when he came out, it wasn't leaking, but it was leaking before he came. A couple of weeks go by, it started leaking again. So we called American Shield again, and they found another guy. This guy agreed the seal was going bad, so he replaced the seal. We thought it was repaired, but it started leaking again.

    We called American Home Shield again and told them to send a GE Monogram technician. So he came out and said, "There's a seal behind that you can't see it, but you can see it's deteriorating." So there are two seals, a seal you see in the front and there's a seal on the back. So the seal on the back was going bad, plus the foam and all the other stuff was already deteriorating.

    American Home Shield has a buyback program for when your appliances are not worth repairing. They should give you 200 or 300 for a new unit. The GE Monogram guy asked American Home Shield to buy me out and give me a credit. But American Home Shield hasn't even offered to give us $300 or $400 credit toward a new unit, because that would save them money in the long run. But they never responded back. So we're in the process of ordering a new GE, and we're gonna pay whatever it costs because that's the right thing to do.

    When you call American Home Shield, it usually takes about 15 minutes to get through to talk to somebody. When you call, they say right away, "We're experiencing high volume of call thing, so it's gonna take 10 minutes. Would you like a call back?" Then you wait, and you finally get ahold of somebody, and they want to send you the cheapest guy, and you gotta demand you talk to a supervisor to send an experienced guy here. We also got the same problem with the microwave and the garbage disposal, and it goes on and on. They do everything to get out of it.

    I had about a $200 fan and it went bad after about five years, so it's not worth repairing anymore. They couldn't get parts, so they gave me $7,500 credit and I bought $800 Casa Blanca. So that was fair. American Home Shield used to be a good company. But I should stop paying them. I might as well be self-insured. I paid $14,000 for the refrigerator and then I'm paying 2,300 for a new dishwasher. They're not repairing or fixing them for me.

    I have had American Home Shield for almost 10 years at one time on two different properties. Now just one. I will never go without having a home warranty. On one property, they replaced the air conditioner. They repaired, over the years, a dishwasher, two different stoves, a refrigerator, a dryer, and an air conditioner. Techs will be coming out tomorrow to fix my air conditioning unit. They had an issue getting the part because the air conditioner was so old. American Home Shield's service is outstanding and I have peace of mind.

    Their techs are the best. I had one issue about five years ago. The heater went out in the home I was living in and the technician said it was because there was too much dust on the coils. During the winter, dust gets on the heat oils. The tech said that that was our fault for not cleaning them off. But you can't get to them. I asked American Home Shield to get a second opinion. I paid upfront for the second opinion. Once it was found it was not our fault, that money was refunded back to me and they did the repairs.

    I submit my order request, and American Home Shield is quick and prompt about connecting me with the service that I need. I like them. Both techs were great and knowledgeable. For the air conditioners, there was some stuff I had to pay out of pocket, but it wasn't much. It was $40. We have called AHS several times for our AC unit, and they could have cost us a lot out of pocket. We ended up getting rid of our old system because it has been giving us much trouble.     The washer started five weeks ago. The first gentleman that came out from the company ordered a motherboard and said, "When the parts come in then we'll fix it." When the parts came in, a second gentleman from the company came and said, "I don't even think you need this motherboard. These wires are weird." He put it in anyway, worked with some wires and said, "This should be what you need,” and left.

    Within 24 hours, I called them back because the washing machine still made weird noises. I called in because it would just go through the spin cycle and quit. We got through the spin cycle after they left within the next day, and it banged around badly. It sounded like it was offloaded, but it wasn't. And it didn't work correctly. The contractor sent the original guy back out. He said, "You need this set thing in the box. It’ll work." I used it to wash a little laundry, and it froze on the spin cycle again and dumped out of the bottom of the washing machine and flooded my laundry room and back bedroom. It was insane.

    I had my teenager son. We run that entire load up by hand, tossed it in the dryer and the belt broke on the dryer. So, we've been waiting on parts. I talked to the company yesterday, and they are sending the guy who doesn't seem to be as confused about the parts out on Wednesday. All the slight issues of what has been going on has been with the company itself. When the dryer died, and I looked up the belt, it was 74.95. For me to call somebody to come out and do it professionally, it's $75. So, it's worth the price. I got a nice discount on a brand new HVAC system too because I used American Home Shield.

    The toilet was loose and I was concerned about leakage. I called AHS and I was frustrated with them. They were very reluctant to help and assign someone to come and do the toilet because my toilet technically was not broken. It wasn't enough for it to be loose, which is absurd, and they weren't gonna send anyone. But they assigned a contractor, and then the plumber contacted me. The plumber they sent was the same plumber who had come out six weeks ago to do something to the toilet. The last time that he was here, I was having trouble flushing and some other things and fixed that. So this time, I knew that I was in really good hands. I knew that if there was anything that can be done to the toilet to make it more stable, he was gonna do it because he was very thorough.

    We did some testing and then the plumber tightened the things on either side of the toilet. He explained and helped me to be much more ease that even if it was really mobile, I don't have to be concerned about leaks. So it was an education for me about the toilet and other things that I could now think about and be aware of. Before the toilet, he came out and fixed the faucet in my kitchen sink. Again, I was so impressed.

    Our furnace was making some funny noises and got really hot, so I called American Home Shield. I tried to do the claim with AHS online, then I was having some trouble. Sometimes, I'm not quite technology inclined, so I just called. I prefer talking in person, anyways and their reps have been really good. Every time I called for any sort of anything for the house, they've been really knowledgeable of my contract with them and what that entails. They have been super helpful. This last time I called and I told the rep that my furnace was running really hot. She said that sounded like an emergency and was really nice about the whole situation.

    AHS reps also always tell us beforehand about the company that's coming out and this time, I had Kingdom Enterprises come out because they worked on the AC the first time when we were in the house. So I already knew them and that was good. It was a very busy time of the year and super cold out, so I was sure a lot of people were having furnace problems. I was waiting on them to call me and American Home Shield said that their representative would be calling me soon. But I knew it was going to be cold that weekend and I didn't want to play a guessing game. Also, I work in a school so I had a limited time to try to call.

    So I called Kingdom Enterprises that Friday instead of having them contact me first to see when they thought they might come out, so I could make plans if it was going to be cold over the weekend. They were pretty booked up so they were not able to come until Monday. Then unfortunately, they had a job that took longer than expected, and I had a prior obligation at school, so they had to come out that Tuesday. When the tech came out on Tuesday, he had everything he needed to complete the call, and was in and out of there pretty quickly. He was able to get the job done. I had to get a new blower motor and a new capacitor, and since then, my furnace has been even quieter than before we had these problems.

    All in all, the fact that we had to change the day from Monday to Tuesday was a little bit of an annoyance. But otherwise, I was very happy with everything that happened. I was also very satisfied with AHS every time I call. It's nice knowing that I don't have to spend $80,000 on whatever is broken, and that I can call them, spend 100, and go from there. The AHS warranty is a great thing to have and it keeps you protected for a lot lower cost than trying to do everything yourself.
