I've been having issues with my stove for a few months. And my refrigerator started freezing over as well. So, it was perfect to do one claim for both. When I put my ticket in, I got a response. And I was assigned within a day or two. I spoke with Mr. Wayde. He verified what was on the ticket. He got more details in case he needed to bring anything. He worked with my schedule because there would be one there for him to see. Once we connected and set a schedule, he was out. He called before he came. And when he did, he took care of the issue. He looked at my equipment. He checked it thoroughly. He asked me questions. He tried to see what could be fixed for my convenience. He gave me some options and recommendations. And he communicated with American Home Shield. He was professional and did a good job.
The prior experience with AHS, when I had issues with my air conditioner unit, it was different. I made five calls on five different times. I had to pay the copay for them to resolve my issue. The people that were coming out put Band-Aids on it when it was 100 degrees outside. Finally, I got a group. They handled the issue that I had been dealing with for years, because I called every year about the same issue.

With everything that I've needed, it's good that I didn't have to pay full price for it. I recently had to get my AC looked at and it was very good with the tech. He was the owner of the AC company and even just with him stepping up and getting the job done when he had people out, he still made sure that I got taken care of on the same day. He was right on. I always got a verification that he was on his way.

American Home Shield is hassle-free because I'm paying for the service and they're lining up and I love the texting, informing me who's coming, and then that person calling me and saying he’s 30 minutes away. And I'm able to navigate with them, even if I'm not at home. I can call home and tell them to open the door and that someone is coming to fix the dryer. It's the communication part. Especially these days, it’s hard to trust people. The tech came out for the dryer and he was very professional. The techs that didn't know what they were doing irritated me. American Home Shield sent this older guy and what he was doing didn't work. I could have also done that. The same person ended up coming out three times. After that, I told my son to tell AHS that they’re gonna have to send somebody else who’s gonna do more than just do that.

When the air conditioner would turn itself on, it was making a loud noise -- something that it didn't use to do. I was concerned so I called American Home Shield. I went through the automated system and I answered all the questions. I was told someone would be calling with a date and time and sure enough, I got a call with a date and time. The tech from Frog Pro Services called me and I told him what the issue was. He said that it sounds like the issue was something that couldn't be helped but that he's not gonna really know that until he gets out here to see it. came here. He looked at the unit and said that it's not unusual for the unit to make a loud noise and there's nothing wrong with it. The tech seemed to be extremely knowledgeable as to what he was doing. With AHS, I like the way the system is set up where they give me a choice. I can mail my payments or my payments can be automatically withdrawn every month, which is what I like. Also, I like the way they operate. They operate like a pretty smooth company. I'd tell others to sign up with them and they won't regret it.

American Home Shield is a good company. They are easy to work with when it comes to claims. They provided a better coverage plan for the amount. Also, it's easy to submit a claim on the website. The contractor came out for my range hood because one of the speed setting was not working. And since it cannot be fixed, American Home Shield is now replacing the exhaust fan for me. The service people were very professional when they came in.

I had a stoppage and a leak in both my bathroom sinks. American Home Shield's website was easy to use. I submitted my claim on a weekend and on that Monday, the contractor was there. He introduced himself, told me who he was with, and he got in. I showed him where both sinks were in my house and told him what I thought the problem was. And he said, “Okay. Sounds like I know what it is. I think we can fix that. Let me go out and get me some equipment and come back in.”
He took some pipes off underneath, got a piece of equipment, the little thing with the wire on the end, and started doing it. He came back out because I told him I would be out in the den if he needed me. He run it a bit, came back and said, “This is what I was doing. I was running it down through some pipes. We have a stoppage in your main line running from your two sinks in your bathroom. Give me a few more minutes. I think we'll have that cleared up for you.” And that was how it went.

ACG Heating, the contractor, was excellent and very professional. My air conditioner kept coming on and off upstairs and the tech had to go up in the attic and empty the water. It was filling up the pan. American Home Shield is fast. They respond quickly so that's a good thing. People should check them out because they are a very good service.

I had a dripping bathtub and American Plumbing Company fixed the leak. They were really good. But they had to make a hole in my wall to reach the plumbing and I'm still waiting for it to be repaired. American Home Shield is supposed to cover that. One drawback that's happening consistently happened just a couple of days ago. I have a problem with my air conditioner. There's this motor that comes on that lets the hot air out of the house, which they say is covered. I called to have that fixed and the company come out. I paid the 125 but they didn't fix it.

American Home Shield stands by their work. My HVAC unit was backed up, and water was coming on the floor. I submitted a claim with AHS online. It was easy. The contractors called me and let me know what day they were coming out, which was very informative. The tech fixed the HVAC for me. He told me it was backed up and it needed to be serviced. He did a great job. He came through, and it's not a bunch of questions asked. He just came to do the job.

I had a problem with my AC unit and according to the technician, we needed a new unit. American Home Shield said they would not replace it because it was dirty but I had my unit serviced in April. I was not happy with that information. Also, supposedly, they were gonna give me a report and I haven't received it yet. But American Home Shield has been a really good service to have. I've had issues, but it's been specific to the people that they send. Previous to this one, there was a contractor that came in to do something on my washer and it took months. Other than that, I like that AHS is usually very fast to set up appointments.

I had a problem around the first of the year with my plumbing and American Home Shield never sent anybody. I was so upset. We went two weeks without any water. I requested Reliable Plumbing -- I even called them before I called American Home Shield to see if they would take the job. They said they would have to get the paperwork from American Home Shield first. It went back and forth and I kept requesting. I got transferred back and forth saying Reliable is not one of their companies. It was mind-blowing and no one ever came. I had to hire a plumber out of my own pocket to fix the issue. I was super unhappy about that one time. I had another claim a couple of weeks ago. I did it all online and it was already there that Reliable had been assigned to my job. They were here the next day and it worked out perfect.

It's a comfort knowing that if something happens, American Home Shield will find somebody. And their license is insured. So, that peace of mind is there. I pay the deductible and everything is covered after that. I had an AC issue recently. It went smooth. The technician was professional. And the service was great. I paid my deductible, which ended up being more than the service. But I didn't have to pay anything additional.

We had a stopped up toilet. I didn't like the plumbing company's representative. But they sent a plumber and he used a hard metal spring to push down into the toilet. He scratched up the inside of our toilet and it did damage that we didn't think was nice. He apologized for scratching it but that doesn't fix the scratches.

Having AHS takes a burden off my shoulders if a large item goes out. They pay almost 90% of the cost to have something like an air conditioner replaced. Recently, my dishwasher had an electronic problem. The techs got out the next day and they had an excellent work ethic. They had to order some parts and once those got here, they set up an appointment. They were here the next day and they got the dishwasher repaired.
But there have been a few experiences when AHS wasn't helpful at all. Five years ago, my garage door went out and it was a fight. They couldn't repair it and I ended up having a new one put in myself because things didn't work out well. I came really close to discontinuing the service at that point. Seven years before that, the same thing happened, and it was just seamless. The techs tested the garage door and that one was unrepairable. They picked up another one and installed it.

My air conditioning went out a week ago. American Home Shield had a technician come out, and they did all the work. AHS got ahold of me right away, and filed the claim. They were on top of it. I was under the understanding that 100% was always paid. Come to find out, it was not. There are certain things that aren't covered. It’s on the fine print. But AHS is working on getting me a new one, and I have to pay some out of pocket for it. It was good. I know that I won't have to pay everything out of pocket.

If I have an issue with any of my appliances, plumbing or electricity, I can always call AHS, pay the service fee and someone will do the work. Recently, the refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. The tech said that the fan had a malfunction and was no longer working. So they replaced that. AHS does an excellent job providing services I need.

With AHS, I like the convenience of having someone come out. I don't have to search for the contractors. Recently, I put in claims for the air conditioner and washing machine, and dryer. The techs were excellent and the reps were great. I can relax because someone else is doing the diligence of doing the research. Plus they're qualified to come in and do the work. If there's anything that the warranty doesn't cover, it's still within the lines of it being affordable.

There was a loud noise on our main air conditioning unit. It was like an airplane. I called AHS and initiated a claim on the telephone. My issue was they assigned somebody immediately. It was not the air conditioning company that we have in the home that is one of your vendors. I had to cancel it, wait a day, and then reinitiate it with the proper name and number. It worked out fine. The vendor did a great job. The tech said that the bearings were shot inside the main motor system and he replaced the motor, which they had to order. AHS is a great company and it's well worth the money.

The only problem I have with AHS is with some of the contractors they send over. I don't know if it's a game they play or they have no idea what they're talking about. That's frustrating. But overall, I'm okay, that's why I'm keeping AHS. I was very frustrated, but I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. Hopefully, they pay attention to these contractors they're using and maybe they deal with better people.

I haven't always been totally happy with AHS. I had some problems with them before when I had an air conditioner system that went out. They sent a repairman from 80 miles away in Athens and he Band-Aided the system. Recently, the filter in the refrigerator was frozen. The tech took a wrench and very carefully turned it. He got it to pop out of there. He said it was very common for these to freeze. He also looked at the system and I told him we never use the water filter part of the refrigerator. He said that was working fine.

My overall experience with American Home Shield is not perfect. We've had our ups and downs. I chose to live in a remote area, so things don't get done the same day. But AHS seems to be contracted strongly everywhere. I live 20 miles south of the Oregon border in Northern California. There's nothing within 50 miles of me. So, it's not rural living, but my town is 7,500 people. So, the fact that AHS has somebody that can respond that is local that can go to my place helps.
Last week, our garbage disposal started leaking. I installed that one. It's at least 20 years old. Guy came the next day, looked at it, said, “Yeah. It's dead.” Got approval to replace it, replaced it. And he was out of here in 15 minutes. Before that, our washing machine died. Again, that was an old piece of equipment. I declared it dead, bought a new one. It was here in a couple of days.

American Home Shield has always been prompt, and they give me someone right away. Sometimes, they’ve given me within a week. But they always got a technician for me who has always been prompt and professional about it. The most recent claim we had was our stove. Our range went out, and I called AHS four times. The most recent time was last month about the same issue. This last time was a different experience. It was the same issue, but when we had the technician come by, they checked everything but it was normal. They said, “We can't fix something that is not broken.” And I agree with them. It acted fine when they showed up. The monthly fee could be less, but I don't like the rules. I would have spent at least two grand on a new range. But in the long run, it's worth it. AHS saves me a lot of money.

I had a Freon leak. Within a minute of submitting the claim via automated system, I had an email confirming my call and American Home Shield had contacted Higginbottom. Higginbottom called me and the tech knew me. So, he was out here. It took a couple of days because they had to put a guy through it to find the leak, and they had to get the part. But it was timely. I also had my water heater and washing machine go out. I wasn't happy with the water heater because the plumber that AHS sent didn't know what he was doing. He was a new guy. He told me, "I'll call you in a few days," left, and I never heard from him. So, I called my own plumber. AHS cannot work with him anymore. My washing machine, they scoured the country and the parts are sitting on my kitchen waiting for the guy to come put them in. But AHS works hard.

When my AC needed the refrigerant, before I got American Home Shield, it cost me $600+. Now, when my AC had a clog, it only cost me $100. And the guys that came were nice. I like The effectiveness of being able to pay a monthly home warranty fee, versus having to pay out of pocket a significant amount, if anything goes wrong.

I have a leak. I opened up a claim. I received a dispatch which would take 1 week. This is ridiculous since I have a leak and it is damaging my house. I called AHS back to explain the situation and escalate the process. They are not able to help. The process in which the operator has to go through to make a change in contractors is absolutely horrible. I have been a customer for over 11 years and never experienced such bad service. I am seriously thinking of going with a different company. I do not recommend AHS to anyone. Save your money.

The washer broke down in the spin cycle. I called American Home Shield and GE Appliances came. They fixed it once before, but they said it wasn't worth fixing it again so they're gonna replace it. AHS has been great.

My refrigerator was not cooling although the freezer was. We were able to set up an appointment with Sears based on my schedule within a week. Also, the person that I talked to who followed up on my online appointment had a bunch of questions for me. He was able to take a guess at the diagnosis and had a part shipped to my site in advance. They were able to fix the refrigerator and I didn't need a second visit.

Lloyd Plumbing came out recently when my garbage disposal was not working. They called me to schedule an appointment and they came out the same day they called me. The tech looked at the unit and he knew what exactly was wrong. He fixed it and gave me other tips on how to keep it going and keep the maintenance. I like that AHS makes sure that I'm taken care of. The only thing is that when I first had them, they had deep freezers on the policy but when they moved up to the new thing, they took it off. I wish they kept deep freezers on there.

Their service is fast and efficient. I had a claim when the air wasn't cooling and Same Day Air Repair came out. They were good but it came into conflict when I couldn't get the part. I needed a new compressor and about $1,800 in Freon. It was so expensive and it was more benefit for me to get a new unit. I canceled with Same Day and I just purchased a whole new air conditioner.

I thought that if I had two issues, I could put them both on the same call. I had a plumbing issue and the other was not and they told me I had to do a separate call. Drain Co Plumbing came out for the garbage disposal. AHS was gonna give me a different contractor but I asked for Drain Co because I've had them before. They diagnosed the issue and found out that there was something stuck in the garbage disposal.
I had an issue with AHS last year and it took months to get it resolved. The way that I got it resolved is I went on to their company website, found their president, and sent him a direct email through Facebook. He had someone on his team reach out. While the issue was resolved, I didn't feel like I was treated as if I were the client. I was treated as if the service provider was more believable than me. That whole process was not a good experience for me.
It's a good service from AHS but I'd tell others to go into it with their eyes wide open because there have been lots of little tricks and turns since I first started. I'm paying double what I paid, but I'm not getting any better service. I reached out a while ago when they went up and it takes a long time to get someone on the phone. And then when I do, that person is not stateside most of the time so they have a difficult time in understanding you. When I ask for a manager or someone like that, I'm usually told those people are not available. It becomes a full-blown issue. But even though I pay double what I paid when I first started, it’s still less money than I would pay if I didn't have them for some of the things that start to go wrong with the home.

I am fully satisfied whenever I have to call AHS. The last time we called was when we had a faucet out of order. It was at a rental property and the rep took down the information and address. They called the tenants and they arranged the schedule for the contractor, Cal-Home Construction, to come. They fixed the issue and I got an email notification when it was completed. AHS is a good home insurance program.

Our AC unit went down and wasn't blowing cold air. I submitted a claim through my portal and it wasn't long before I got a text from them letting me know who would be contacting me. The contractor, Foxcroft HVAC & Refrigeration, was great. He recommended that we take a hose and maybe spray out the outer unit to get pine needles out because we have pine trees around. But as far as how long it took, it was two days. I was a little frustrated with that because we were into the hot weather and I have a bulldog and they can't take the heat that well. But it all worked out, so I was happy.
Also, at the beginning of summer, I'm supposed to be able to get a contractor to come out and do an inspection of our unit prior to using it full force for the summer. I put in a request for that and I never got that. AHS sent me who was gonna be the contractor and I called the contractor, Frogg, three times. They never returned my call. I even called AHS and I just never got anybody to come out and do my summer inspection, like I should have gotten with my plan. Other than that, I highly recommend AHS.

I had an issue resolved with my water heater, which was done in a timely, professional manner. American Home Shield has been good. I have two policies with them. At my primary residence, they've been able to solve issues in a timely, professional manner. I have an ongoing issue with my HVAC system and it's no fault of AHS. It’s more the service company that's responsible for that area that doesn't seem capable of resolving the issue. The tech keeps coming out and the answer is, "No problem found." The property is three hours away from my house. So, I need to go down there yet again to try to meet up with this person and get it resolved. I gave the feedback to AHS, but they told me that there's only one HVAC service person in that area. So, I have no choice but to deal with this guy.
There are plenty of HVAC services in that area and I don't know why AHS restricted themselves to only one. And the one that they assigned comes from almost an hour away. So, he's not happy when he has to come in to do the job. There are plenty of others much more local within a 30-minute drive from there. I also had a plumbing issue and the contractor was very friendly and professional. He was in and out. I had a leak issue due to the sump pump and he was able to replace the check valve and get everything back up and running. So, that was an A+ in my mind. I like AHS’ responsiveness and ease of use. Everything through the app and the website is nice. The ability to have return calls if things are not fixed the first time all seems good. I don't feel like I'm nagging them if there's an issue. And the response time is quick.

American Home Shield is very responsive. If we have something broken, we know that we can call just one place instead of us having to find the contractors to do this or do that. They find the right person that needs to come out to the house. And usually, they're here within a few days. The only one that we didn't get fixed through American Home Shield was the air conditioner. It blew and they said they could do the part but the next part is gonna break in another two months. We replaced the whole thing instead of having to constantly have it serviced every few months. But other than that, every time we've had an issue, it was completely resolved within a week or two
We had two different toilets that the wax seal ended up just going away. And then, we noticed water spots on the ceiling below the bathroom, not knowing where in the pipe something was going wrong. The repair guy came out and replaced the wax seals on both toilets which will hopefully prevent any water from coming down to the ceiling below it. He was wonderful. I expected him to show up and say they’ll come back tomorrow or the next day to get it fixed. But he fixed it right away and was able to get it all cleaned up immediately. It was fantastic. He removed the toilet and whatever gunk was underneath it, I didn’t wanna have to touch that. So I appreciate that he cleaned it up and was very thorough with his job and super pleasant.
I had lots of questions. I don't know a whole lot about how to maintain the house and we're just learning. This is our second home but even still, we're in the early process of so many things that can go wrong and do go wrong with owning a home. So we asked if there was anything we could do to prevent it and he was super helpful.
I've told my sisters that they should look into AHS when they get a home. We've had some pipes that have broken and the tech said it would cost us $100 per thing to get replaced out of pocket. But we had AHS and we were able to get that covered. We've had to use AHS a few times in the five years we've lived here. But even that, it breaks up that cost instead of it being one huge sum at one time when we have to have someone come out, which is nice. The secondary insurance on the home is the way we look at it. We have the homeowners insurance and then we have AHS which covers the smaller things that go wrong with the house. I have seven siblings and I was the first one to own a home. I told them that no matter how much you plan, something else is gonna break and go wrong. It's a part of life.

I had a clogged sink and the tech was there the next day. He's been around a number of times. He's great. Submitting a claim is usually good. If it's my AC contractor, I have one that I have to call American Home Shield to ask to use them and I can't do it online. Otherwise, I do it online. I love AHS. I can call someone to come out and they can fix it. I don't have to look for someone to fix something.

My contract goes till next month with American Home Shield but I'm not renewing it because eventually, I'm not gonna be living here. So I'm not gonna pay for the new owner to have the contract. But other than that, AHS is okay. They sometimes have their moments where people come out or are supposed to come out, and they don't call. Meanwhile, I pay a service fee of 125. Don't tell me you're gonna come out and then don't. If you're gonna come out, fine. If you're not gonna come out, don't tell me you're gonna come out and then you don't call or don't show up and don't come out. Over time, there were too many of those. Especially AC problems, I go with somebody else and cancel the contract.
I've had AHS for a while and then I stopped because they pissed me off. But I went back with them because overall, they're the cheapest warranty that I could find for my house. Those types of things irritate me but lately, they've gotten better. They get a lot of bad negativity and I don't like to give that. I'd rather call them and tell them we need to fix this. And they've done that. If I can talk to them and ask if we could get this fixed, they usually do it. They did it last time and also credited me the 125 back. The service was done for free and that goes a long way.
The chain was loose on my garage door so I had to have somebody come and tighten it. The guy who came out was great. He didn't put on his paperwork I'm being billed, so I'm assuming I'm not even paying for a deductible. All he did was tighten two bolts or loosen them up. So the guy probably thought I didn’t need to be charged. He just came out for that and it took him less than five minutes. AHS has been good lately. If my $8,000 AC goes, my deductible is $125 and for the most part, that's probably all I'm gonna pay. Even if it's 1,000 total with other components that aren't under warranty, 1,000 is better than 8000. I got a 3-tonnage Carrier AC, which is the top-of-the-line for my house. So it's not exactly a cheap piece of equipment to replace.

My washing machine's door switch wasn't working properly. The first time, the techs couldn't find the problem, so they didn't do anything. I called the warranty people and complained that I didn't wanna have to pay another $100 service charge. The second person who came decided that the issue was as switch module and they ordered one. I've been fairly happy with AHS and I recommend them.

We had a couple different problems, two different days, with some of the toilets leaking or not working right. The first time, it took a little longer for someone to come out, but the second issue, they came out the next day. I'd tell people to consider American Home Shield. American Home Shield Warranty is a complete scam, and I strongly advise against using their services! Recently, my two-year-old tankless water heater suddenly stopped working, so I reached out to them for help. After describing the error and diagnosing the issue as a faulty ignitor covered under the manufacturer's warranty, I requested a technician to fix it.
The first technician they sent seemed clueless about tankless water heaters, and the second technician admitted he didn't have the necessary parts and couldn't proceed even if he did, citing the warranty coverage. Frustrated, I contacted American Home Shield again, reiterating my initial explanation about the problem and warranty coverage, but to no avail. Despite their mismanagement and inability to fix the issue, they still charged me $100 for their inadequate service.

I've had some downright disappointing experiences. Sometimes, it's hard to get a sense of urgency. I've also had some that are quick and easy which I have been really happy with. Recently I had my air conditioning unit and garbage disposal serviced. Both of which, I had prompt service and good experiences. With AHS, it's nice not to have to hunt down your technician.

I've used Home Shield for two technician visits. The first one was for a broken dryer, and that was an easy fix and service was great. The second claim was a washing machine failing to drain. That needed two visits, but it seemed to go fine and it's fixed now. The experience was easy and straightforward, and I just paid the $70 charge for the technician. I'm saving money if I have any large problems with bigger appliances.

It's easy enough to make an appointment and the technicians have always been very knowledgeable. Usually, I can get somebody here the next day. Recently, my kitchen sink backed up. So, there was a lot of dirt and grime in the sink. The tech came the next day at noon and took care of the issue.

The claims submission process is simple. I do it online and if I was more computer savvy, it'd be easier to do. I'm older and I'm not a good computer guy, so navigating the website is minorly challenging. On a scale of 1 to 10, it rates about a 5. Besides that, I have had two minor calls and they were taken care of promptly and efficiently. I had a motorized, electric gable vent exhaust fan that was not working and the tech was out in about five days. He had to get a new unit, which took a couple of days, but he was very good. He did it exactly as I asked him to, and the unit is working perfectly. I should have had him adjust the thermostat to a lower temperature though. I'm gonna have to crawl up there and adjust the thermostat to activate the unit a little sooner.

I had a problem with the waste disposal unit. It wasn't working, so I called the insurance and it was easy. The person who answered made the appointment and sent an email, then the company who was coming to my house to do the repair called me and sent a message to my cell phone. Someone came last Friday, and it was only one minute to repair the damage. That was very good. Overall, I recommend American Home Shield. The people have always been really nice, and they always come within a couple of days. It's a good service. The parts take what they take, but they come quite quickly. When it doesn't work, they come back out again. We had to have a revisit, but it works okay afterwards. When my fridge freezer was leaking and not working, the repair person who came was very good.

I love American Home Shield. They're really good about getting me someone and listening. I had a bad experience with one of the companies, and I said I don't want them back in my house and they've never come back. That must be in my notes, because when I called about a similar problem, the rep said, "No, it's in your notes. You're not gonna get that company. No problem." The one they switched me to was great. All the companies, other than one in particular, have been fabulous. My work gets done, and it costs me 75 bucks instead of hundreds.
I have found most of the people very nice. I don't like to do stuff online. I'm in my mid-60s, and I prefer to talk to human beings. Getting to a human being is easy, and I could get updates on my phone of what's happening as well. Right away, I find out. I never wait for the service company to call me. As soon as they're assigned, I call and make an appointment for them to come out, and no one ever seems to be upset with me that I've done that. American Home Shield has been fantastic for me, and I recommend them to others.

I've had to use American Home Shield multiple times, and all of those experiences have been great. They're no hassle. They get the problem fixed, and if it's something that has to be replaced, they just replace it. The only issues I've ever had have been with some of the repair people, but when I call American Home Shield and tell them what's going on, they have it resolved fast. When my refrigerator decided to die on me recently, it was about a week and the first company they were gonna send never came. They said they were gonna send parts.
I called American Home Shield and said, “That's not how a refrigerator service works. How do they know what's going wrong?” The home warranty company then sent Sears, and they were out here the next day. The tech was very professional. He got straight to it, called American Home Shield and came and told me what the decision was. They had to replace my refrigerator because they said it would cost too much to fix it, and the one piece, they didn't make anymore. The new unit is supposed to be here tomorrow. As long as American Home Shield keeps up the great work, I'm happy with them.

The air conditioning was not working. A tech got out within five days. The issue turned out to be a compressor. We had the AC replaced and AHS gave me a small credit towards what the problem was. Then, we paid the rest. AHS makes me think quicker to call for repairs. It keeps me from trying to fix it myself.

My freezer was out and the washing machine was leaking water. Everybody who has come here has been extremely good. But the appliance repair service had to reschedule me and I've been without a washing machine for six weeks now. The problem was with the part they ordered this last time. It was cracked already when it was received by them. There's nothing they can do about it and I have to wait.
I've been very happy with American Home Shield's service. They follow through on everything. Every contractor they've sent has managed to fix everything. They don't always get it done on the first shot, just because the first time they come out, it's to find out what the problem is and see what they need to order.

My air conditioning was from 2006, and the power supply kept cutting off. There was a bit of wear and tear, and the whole upstairs of my house was hot. The air wasn't flowing. There was too much amperage too. American Home Shield replaced the unit and I had to pay almost $1,000, but I did not mind. They installed the new unit last Friday, and so far, so good. I'm happy with American Home Shield. I really like the honesty and proactiveness. They keep me informed. I like the contractors they use as well. They're always cordial and they haven't been rude.

The technician was out three days after I called American Home Shield for my central air conditioner unit and he was fantastic. He knew his stuff and fixed what they had done last year. My AC went down last year, and the one American Home Shield sent was awful, but the one they sent out for the Sears stuff was fantastic too. I have recommended American Home Shield to a friend. Having a home warranty policy with them helps with the cost of getting something fixed. Even though I had to pay them $100 to come out, still, service calls are outrageous. I had to pay $85 for a service call for my camper, and an additional $50 per hour. Today, it cost me $120 for him just to come out.

I could hear my AC's fan but no air was coming out. We had the thermostat at 69 degrees but it was at 92-ish and very hot. AHS told me about their contractor, Fletcher, and that they would reach out to me. They reached out to me the next morning at 8:00 and it was a 24-hour turnaround time. They were able to come out the next business day. The techs kept me informed. The issue was the capacitor in the outside unit. It took him 30 minutes to fix the problem.
But I called back on Friday because it was 5 o'clock the upstairs was still reading in the 80s though downstairs had cooled out. That has not happened before. I told the rep my issue and she told the contractor my concern. She told me that they said with the unit being out for days, it could take a while for everything to adjust back. I asked her if the contractor was open on Saturdays and she said that they aren't but they have some techs at work. She also said to call if there was still an issue. Fortunately, I didn't have to do that.
AHS was knowledgeable from start to finish. The rep whom I talked to was very friendly. Having that reassurance puts my mind at ease. I would definitely go through them again. I recommend them.

The first time I called, our air conditioner had gone out. The vendor AHS set me up with didn't call me until the next day and said they could get me in about a week. I said that was not acceptable as my mom is almost 80 years old and it was extremely hot in the house. Plus, the rep was totally rude. When I called AHS back, they found me somebody who came the next day.
Recently, I had an issue with the toilet and the hot tub making a weird noise. The tech fixed everything. He was very nice. So far, working with AHS has been great. Everybody I've dealt with has been very professional and able to fix my issues with no problem. My AHS warranty gives me peace of mind. Things break down and I don't always have thousands of dollars ready to spend on stuff. I know that if something goes wrong, I can call AHS and they will take care of it. I'm super happy with them.

I had a plumbing company come out. The drain was clogged behind the washing machine. They unclogged the drain but there were feces on the wall. I didn't realize until after a couple of days later because it was behind the washing machine. Other than that, so far, I've had good results with American Home Shield. Recently, I've had Caldwell Plumbing and they've done an excellent job. I've had a kitchen faucet replaced. My kitchen flooded and they came out and unclogged the drain for that. I've had good results with Shields Plumbing and Andy's Plumbing as well.
For my washer, I've had an American Home Shield technician come out. He's done a good job. He's gonna order the hose to replace the other one. He thought my dryer was shot because it also was making a noise and I thought it might catch fire because it seemed to be getting too hot and the thermostat thing wasn't moving. It would be good to least to know if we got the part because I've got laundry. I can't do my washing and drying. I also have a drop-in stove. The repairman said the stove looks like it needs to be replaced. I hope we can get that done too. He's working on it right now.

I put in a ticket for my AC around 7:00 PM and the next day at around 10:00 AM, their contractor Lundie's HVAC called me and said they could do the job that day, which I was astounded by. Last time I was in this situation, it took three weeks to get them to come out and another three weeks to order a part. It was on short notice but I raced home as I did not want to miss the appointment. They took care of the issue. The tech was very prompt and professional. The only thing is that I asked them if they do general maintenance. I sent the tech my contact information but he never got back to me.
The thing is that we have a very old HVAC system, and we keep waiting for them to say they are gonna replace it. But I think they'll just keep fixing it. In the past, we've been in a pickle because parts weren't available in town. So, we wound up going without air conditioning for several weeks. Other than that, I have no complaints. AHS is a nice service when you need it. It saves you a lot of headaches and for the most part, contractors have been very professional. I've had a couple of bad ones but AHS addressed the issue really quickly and got a good rep out here. I recommend them.

American Home Shield gives me peace of mind knowing that I've got coverage regardless of what's going on with my appliances. I had it when I lived in Florida for a long time and it was always good to us. When I moved to Kentucky, I went ahead and signed up here too. It's a great plan for people who aren't handy with fixing things. You're not gonna be paying an arm and a leg to fix or replace an air conditioner. I don't have any intentions on changing. It's upgraded to get the electronics package which I didn't even know was available. I'm delighted about that.
The only drawback is they don't let you know what the outcome is. Either you have to call them or go to the site to see what the status is. It used to be that they call people. But now, you have to do it yourself. Also, I wasn't all that impressed with A&E. The second time, the technician said he was gonna submit it for replacement but never did. I called but he never called me. The second one that came out was very good. He took a look at it and said it was the compressor. I'm waiting for the replacement check. I usually just get the Lowe's card and go over to Lowe's and pick out something. But I thought this might be nice because then I can look at other places other than Lowe's, and see what prices and styles they have.

When there was a gas leak on a valve, American Home Shield got somebody to come out. They swapped out a valve and were there 10 to 15 minutes. It was fast. But the new owner has had to call them out again because of a gas leak. I don't like dealing with American Home Shield. It's difficult to speak to a representative. Sometimes there's a language barrier. There's also no flexibility. When we first bought the policy, there was a water leak. There were two pipes, the hot and the cold. They replaced whichever one was leaking. We had to have them come out three times ‘cause they just kept putting putty on it under the tub. We asked, "Can you do the other one? We could pay for it while the ceiling is ripped open.” They said no. As a homeowner, I would rather pay to replace the second pipe instead of reopening the ceiling again. Eventually, we had to totally redo those lines ‘cause the second one went bad.
It's nice for peace of mind, but it's not awesome. I paid a lot of money for the warranty then I still have to pay 150 bucks for people to come out when it's not even a $100 job. It's not a great value in that regard when that happens. It's still difficult to set up a request online because I'm not always sure exactly what the problem is and they want you to tell them exactly. It can be a frustrating process. If something breaks and you're covered, then great. When we bought the house, there was a warranty. The water heater broke. American Home Shield save us a lot of money. We still had to pay the fee and buy something that wasn't covered, which was frustrating. We ended up still spending $300 instead of $125. But it was still cheaper than a water heater.

I had a problem with my ice maker, and they had to order parts. Sears is always excellent when they come out. Someone came out for the lights and they were good too. I've had in the past experiences that weren't so good. But lately, people have been great. Using the website makes things a lot easier. I encounter problems when I have to call, or if the contractors can't fix the problem right away. Sometimes some things fall through the cracks and I have to keep calling to make sure they come back and the job is completed. There is lack of communication between American Home Shield and the contractors. When I'm calling, there are so many different people and they don't know what has happened beforehand.

It was a horrible experience. An HVAC technician came to take a look at my unit. He said that I needed a refrigerant and that my coil had a leak in it. Then I got a message on an email saying it was $3,800 worth of repairs. Because it was not due to normal wear and tear, I needed to pay for it myself, and it wasn't under warranty. I called American Home Shield to ask them about it. They gave me the phone number to that HVAC company. I called them up and asked, “Did they take any pictures or any notes?" They told me, "No. There were no pictures or notes in there." They told me the owner was gonna call me back. I waited until the next day but there was no return phone call. I called them back but they didn't even answer my call. The next day came and I got another quote for over seven grand. It didn't say what it was for. Then they closed my ticket out and said the work was completed.
I called American Home Shield back and told them what had happened. They told me that I could get a second quote. I understood about the part where the lady had said if they send a new tech out from a different company and they will come up with the same diagnosis, I would be responsible for the $100 charge. They sent the Happy Bear out. I went up on a roof with them this time to go check. The tech was very good. He said, "I don't see any damage to your coils anywhere, but I could see where you had a leak, at least, an old one." He checked my pressure levels and said, "This looks good, too." He said it needed to be cleaned from whenever the old refrigerant had leaked out. He did a couple of things to the unit and cleaned the coils well. My AC has been working fine. Happy Bear is amazing.

PNP Heating & Air came out again. They were saying that they couldn't service the air conditioner. They had to call somewhere else. I made a claim and said they did not do anything. American Home Shield returned my money and got me a new person to come out to fix it. American Home Shield covers a lot of my home issues. I've been keeping them since 2004. I've used them for a variety of different things over the years, and they've always found someone to come out immediately. It might take a little time, but they get out there before it gets too bad.
They'd put in the order and tell me a contractor would be out but they wouldn't come. They would have to go back and do it again. I needed my central air done this year. They put in the order but I had to call in the morning. Sometimes they'll say that you have to call back in the morning to make sure. You have to go behind them a little bit to make sure that person is coming when they say they're coming. Sometimes, they don't get in touch with the dispatch place. When you're doing something like that, they should make sure and talk to somebody verbally.

Over the years, my experience with American Home Shield has been favorable. I have a very old unit, and the contractor had to replace the evaporator coil. But it was cheaper to put in a new unit and that was what they did. The problem was I was without air for 20 days. American Home Shield and A-US Air didn't seem to communicate too well with each other and that left me in the middle.

Leak Seekers has been out twice for two different things. The most recent one was for a leak in the sink in my bathroom. It's super convenient to file a claim. But the last time I went to do it, the thing that says “Request Service” was grayed out, and I had to use the chat feature to do it. But they took care of it right away. The company was super responsive. I got a call from them to set things up. They told me the name of who to expect and when to expect them, and that I should get a phone call 30 minutes prior. I had three issues in four days. One was a toilet, one was an air conditioner, and the other was a dishwasher. I paid for three service calls and three companies came out that they arranged immediately. All three solved the problem in 15 minutes. I didn't have to replace anything. I'm more than amazed and impressed. American Home Shield has got their act together. I had a service guy come out unrelated to home warranties who's been in business 40 years. He told me, "Bob, there's only one home warranty company that I would ever deal with." That turned out to be how I got referred to American Home Shield.

In 2017, I called American Home Shield and told them that my hot water tank went out. They said it was not covered. This year, I told them that my water heater went out. A repairman came by, looked at it and saw that it was leaking. He said it needed to be replaced. The company said they would put the claim in with American Home Shield and they did. American Home Shield sent them a tank then they brought the tank out and installed it. The water heater and the hot water tank are the same. I had to replace my water heater in 2017 myself, and this year, they replaced it. I am upset with the fact that they replaced it now but didn't replace it then, and my coverage has not changed. If it did, they didn't notify me.
I had a problem when my AC unit went out. They said it was covered. I called them up and then they said, "We only cover up to $1,700 on a $4,800 unit." I had to bite the bullet again. Recently, I looked at the contract. It said my exhaust fan was covered. I called the company up, and they sent someone out for the exhaust fan. But they said, "It's not covered. But we'll put one in for $1,000." I've been an American Home Shield customer for years. I typically didn't have any problem with them. But I'm about fed up with them. I am thinking about canceling them 'cause they say one thing but they send somebody out who says, "It's not covered but we'll do it for $1,000."

A fan outside the AC unit stopped working. I called American Home Shield then a contractor called and set up an appointment for the following day. A technician came in and asked questions as to what was the issue. I explained to him what was going on. He checked on it and had it up and going within 30 minutes. On another claim, the water heater was dripping water. A contractor came and serviced it. We thought that was gonna solve the problem. It didn't, so I had to call back. They came out again. That was when they replaced it.

The AC unit was blowing hot air. The repairman said that the capacitor went out. He didn't even tell me that he left. He just rolled out. Right now the AC is cooling off the house but it's not as strong as it should be.

My toilet was running so the tech changed the flipper. It stopped running for a short period of time but by the end of the day, it started running again, although not as much. I had to go back to turning the water off to that toilet and I had to call back. The second time that somebody came out, the problem was fixed. There are times that I think about not having American Home Shield and then something will happen and I end up having to call. It ends up being a plus that I do have it. The prices are pretty steep sometimes, especially having to pay the $75 copay if something does happen. I wish I could pick and choose a little bit more, but I'm okay with it. Also, the contractors are usually very nice and courteous.

American Home Shield did such a good job that I was really impressed. They have been straightforward and I had zero issues with them. I just had an air conditioning claim and despite being in Las Vegas and during the summer months with the heat, they were able to get a contractor that was awesome. They responded super quick. They were able to come out within a couple of days. There were no hidden fees. There was no issue with getting the work authorized. It was completely seamless. The technician was awesome. He was totally pleasant and very nice. He explained everything along the way and did a great job. He was a great reflection of the company. I was very apprehensive and I thought that I was going to experience some problems or difficulty. I didn't experience anything but a really positive outcome and experience. It couldn't have been any easier. It was a pleasure dealing with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield is good to have if something big breaks. But when it expires. I'm not gonna renew it. When I contact them, they're there to talk to me. I've had to call two service requests which cost me $100 at a time. The first one, my microwave tripped a breaker. So, the microwave is defective, but I didn't know that. AHS got an electrician to come out and tell me the microwave was bad, and they told me AHS doesn't cover appliances. So, I was out 100 bucks. The next one, my AC broke, and the contractor took almost a week to get out there.

I had a recent claim to American Home Shield for a clogged sink and the plumbers they sent out did a great job. I entered the claim online and they let me know who my contact would be as far as the plumber. The plumber reached out and set a date, and we agreed upon a date and time for them to come out. They came out, did the job, and I got a running sink. I didn't have to pay out of pocket for anything no more than the money upfront for the request. Having American Home Shield saved me some money on a lot of things and they came through because I had to get my stove worked on. When they weren't able to fix it, they did replace it. I like the guarantee that it would be replaced.

I've had to file two claims in the last several years. They were very smooth. The people that we have been referred to are all professional. And it has been a good experience. Recently, the AC unit blew air but it wasn't cold. We called American Home Shield on a Thursday. They put us in contact with someone who came out Saturday morning. They fixed it on the spot. They said that it was a minor fix. We paid them immediately, and it was a fair price. We're so thrilled about it that I talked to a friend today and gave them American Home Shield's website.

I love American Home Shield's service. It's good and I really appreciate them. I've gotten my plumbing and my AC unit fixed. The claim process was very easy and the contractors were awesome. All of them that have come over here so far have been really nice and helpful. On the plumbing, I had to pay extra because the workers had to do the concrete. They had to take it out. They put it all back nice and neat. I wish I would have known about American Home Shield sooner.

The diffuser in my pool pump was broken. I notified American Home Shield online. They told me who would be coming out. The service guy knew his job well. He fixed it quickly and was very polite. He had a couple of recommendations, and then moved on. So, I'm really pleased with him. As far as AHS, I like the coverage and there's no hassle. When you call in a service, they act on it promptly, and they schedule someone out to come service it. I'd recommend them because they've done us well.

So far, the service has been okay. There are times I cannot understand some of the employees because of the English barrier. I still try to listen to them carefully but it'd be better if I did speak to people that speak English a little bit better. A recent claim was after we had a real bad weather here in Florida and we had a lot of hail. I began to see a big roof leak in my guest room and a few spots around in the house. We began to see that the ceiling was looking brown at the top. I filed a claim and it didn’t take 24/7, the contractor, long at all to get out here. I was surprised. But they could not do my roof because they quoted $21,000 and American Home Shield was only gonna give me $1,575. I decided to cash out and AHS is supposed to send me a check.

My toilet was leaking. I called American Home Shield because I couldn't get on my app for some reason. Then My Cousin Vinny called me. I talked to them the night before and they asked me for the details. The tech was professional and very nice. Everything's fine now. I like that I can just get online and do a claim to AHS, or I just call them and do it. During the pandemic, it was a little hard, but I know a lot of people were out of work. But AHS has fixed things. They replaced my washer. So, it's been very good. They always get back to me timely, and let me know who's coming out. If something happens with somebody coming out, they would assign someone else.

The dryer was working but it was not drying. There was no heating happening. I filed a claim and the next day, AHS sent a text and a message in the app with the name of the contractor. I called the contractor, Premier, to schedule something. We agreed on a time and because his time and my time were not matching, we agreed on 10 days later. He showed up on the agreed time and he was very nice. I was very happy with that guy. He has some meters and showed me what was not working. It was a common problem so he carries that part in his truck and he changed that right there and then. Also, he cleaned all the mess around it. The dryer was working right after that and everything is functioning good. AHS responds and fixes the problem, although they are the most expensive in town. The only challenge is my location is very remote and I don't get everybody to come at the time I want to come.

American Home Shield has been great so far. They improved some of their programs, which helped, if you upgrade. The most notable change was on the plan that didn't include Freon, and Freon is the most expensive aspect of AC units. Now, it includes all of the refrigeration. The Platinum Plan they have is good. I've used it on multiple occasions even to help manage a rental property that I have out of state with the tenant. I just give them the phone number. They schedule the appointment after I pay for the service fee, give the tenant the phone number to the company that's been assigned, and all the repairs get fixed. I recommend them all the time because it's easy. I had an issue with the AC unit on one of the rental properties. I logged online, filed the service request, paid the $100 fee, and they sent someone out there who repaired it. It was very easy and simple. The tech had great personality.

I have a French door refrigerator that stopped cooling. I went online and requested a service call from American Home Shield. They reassigned the ticket three times. It was exactly a week for a technician to come out to my house. Fortunately, I have a refrigerator in my garage that I keep drinks in and I was able to transfer the things from my inside refrigerator to the outside and not lose any food. But it did take close to it.
The tecnician was very good, professional, and friendly. He diagnosed the issue pretty quickly and told me, "Unfortunately, with the age of your refrigerator, it's not economically feasible to fix it." The channel that the air comes from the freezer to the refrigerator was clogged and he said that with one this age, it is the insulation that breaks down in it over time.
American Home Shield is replacing my refrigerator. The very same day, the technician had contacted them and they sent me an email. I had a choice. They had two refrigerators that were similar to mine, but not really comparable that I could have selected from. My other choice was to select a Lowe's gift card and choose my own refrigerator. I chose that option and it took two business days to get the eGift card. I went online to Lowe's and found the refrigerator that I wanted. It is being delivered to my home on Sunday.
My home was built in 1976. Although it's been very well-maintained, some of the appliances, the central heat and air are older. I felt it wise to have a warranty on them in case something went wrong. I have had American Home Shield for almost three years. I like the fact that if something is wrong, I put in a ticket and it's $125 service call. Whatever is broken, they either fix it or they replace it. I would recommend American Home Shield. It is very easy to have service requests and they are very reliable in either repairing or replacing anything that needs to be done. I am actually getting ready to sell my home. I have already purchased another home in Arkansas and I do have an American Home Shield warranty on it.

I had a stopped up drain that was leaking into the house. The tech showed up on time and didn't leave a mess. He fixed the issue really quickly. He was really honest about it and I liked him. He could have talked me into another unit and I probably would have done it. But he told me that would be a waste of money right now. AHS has raised my rate and it's sad when your introductory rate is cheaper than the rate you're paying. That's a bad policy. Other than that, I highly recommend AHS.

American Home Shield is prompt. Whenever we have a need, they respond and they try to accommodate our needs. When I call, they're there and I like that. I feel comfortable. The technicians are good too. But there was one time I had a little communication problem with one of the guys. He sounded like he was from a foreign land. I am a foreigner and I understood that he was ugly with the way he talked. I did not like it. He sounded rude. I work with a lady and the first time I met her, I wanted to kick her butt because she sounded so rude and ugly. But when I got to know her, she was a beautiful person. That was probably the case with the poor guy. The rest of the time, the technicians were very friendly people. When I had a claim for my AC, they fixed some kind of capacitor and some wire that was burned. Everything is fine. I have recommended a lot of people to American Home Shield.

It's a pretty easy process with AHS. I can call when something is needed and they’re real quick to call and schedule. It's convenient that way and I don't have to wait a long time when something’s broken. I had a claim when my refrigerator wasn't cooling as it should. I filed a claim and Lake Area Appliances scheduled to come out the next day after they first spoke with me. The tech came and he was wonderful. He explained things to me. They needed a part and he told me what to do in order to get it cooling until they got back with the part to fix it. They came back in three days.

The only bummer was it took a couple of weeks to get anybody out. But when he showed up, he was nice, professional, friendly. The plumber couldn't diagnose it because it seemed like grout failure in our upstairs shower. And we couldn't recreate the leak. So, he referred us to a company called Drytime Restoration. They called me the same day. And they came out two days later. We recreated the leak. We're in the middle of the restoration process. Hopefully, we would get a contractor out to rebuild next week.
My only complaint is at times, it takes a lot longer to get an available technician. I recently called American Home Shield to have an HVAC tune-up done because I know that's available. And I was told that it wasn't available now. It's a seasonal type thing. So, I was a little disappointed with that because I'd like to be proactive and make sure everything is running well. But the rep said she would put me on a notification list so when it becomes available, I would be notified.

We had two bad experiences with American Home Shield in the beginning. When I called for one service, we didn't know that when I got the insurance we pay for the spot. These guys charge extra $20 just for the spot. Then when I had one small issue with leaking water, AHS can't cover the spot. What happened was, we passed the whole year. Nothing happened. I'm making my payment but when I needed it, that is when I notice the problem is not covered. It's not in the policy.
Just last week, AHS sent a plumber and he did a good job, but he was missing one part. He said he's gonna come back to change one part on the water heater, but I never received any text on when he's gonna come back. As far as AHS, I don't know how it works. When I called for the freezer because it was not making ice, I paid my $125 copayment. When the guy showed up, he said, “Oh, you need to call the insurance.” I need to call Samsung. So, Samsung needs to send one person. I'm saying, “What is the reason to pay my insurance?”

I think AHS doesn't really screen their companies that strongly. I recently had a claim where my hot water heater had sprung a leak. I caught it very early and they sent a plumber out within 24 hours. That was great. But that plumber said he saw this other damage, which you wouldn't know about until you open up the wall. I did see that there was some damp but there certainly was no saturation and running water. There was no insulation that was wet or any of that. But he was sure that it was very serious and he asked if I wanted them to send this company out for me. The way he presented it, I thought that it was part of the AHS package and I thought it was something I needed as part of the repair that they were doing but came to find out, it was a big scam and it was a whole separate thing.
I ended up paying $900 for the service provider because according to the service provider, I needed to have all these things that weren't covered and then the company that they hooked me with, that was another $1,000. When I contacted AHS and asked for the items that were not covered that I was paying for, they could not tell me. I had to figure that out myself. I couldn't really argue with them. I found one thing they were charging me for that I already had so they took that off the bill but the rest, there wasn't much I could do about it.
Also, I needed to talk to somebody who might understand a little bit about the plumbing and they were very reluctant to do anything like that at their call center. They don't have anybody that can really talk to you about anything specific like that and I thought their customer service was very poor on those kinds of things. They were just accepting what the plumber said wasn't covered. I'm still wondering whether or not I should stay with them or not. They're such a large company and I'm not sure anybody's any better. They've been in business the longest and they seem to have the best reputation of many of them. Also, air conditioning is the big thing in Vegas so it's sometimes worth it to have it for your air conditioner alone.

We usually have good service with American Home Shield. We thought we were having issues with our AC unit, but the contractor came out and checked the flow, showed me how they were doing it and what it should be. And everything was good. I just needed to clean it better than what I was doing on it. The only way that they could do the cleaning is if they took the whole unit out of the house, but they'd have to release the Freon and do all the recharge into their system so it doesn't go into the air and what the process was. And they had to get approval for all that. So, they just told me I need to keep it wiped down better than what it was. But they said that it seemed like a good unit still. I liked that he told us about the new program that AHS has for purchasing a new unit through them on a finance program, which we didn't know about. He was very informative on that and told us about contacting AHS or going on the website for that to look at it.
We've used AHS a couple of other times for a warranty because we've had other issues with some other appliances, and the contractors came out and fixed it. The only time that we had an issue was when the technician came out because our microwave broke. He called up and told AHS we needed a part, but because they didn't make the part for that unit anymore, the lady got upset with the technicians and wanted an explanation of why the part burned out, like it was our fault. The rep tried to get him to say, “They might have put something inside of the microwave or something.” But he said, “No, it's this little relay thing inside of the component back there that went out, and they don't make that part no more.” She gave him a hard time, and they stopped talking.
The tech called back and got another rep, and explained it to her, and it got approved. They had us pick out a new microwave and got it installed. That was the worst experience that we had. But AHS resolved it within a matter of five minutes after that. And the technicians that have come out have been polite. I like them. They call ahead of time and let us know that they were on their way out. We're happy.

The only time I've ever had to call AHS, I got a quick response. They were able to set up a contractor to take a look at my fridge that needed to get repaired. They had the local vendor, Cary Street Appliances and the tech was great. He needed to order some parts to make the repairs and I was well-informed about the whole process of ordering. He came back, fixed the fridge and closed out. the order. The fridge has been working well. AHS has awesome vendors. I couldn't expect more than what I got.

I have four toilets in the house and because I replaced parts at all of them at one time, three of them were running off and on. I submitted a claim with AHS and a week later, the tech came out. He let us know to call them back if we had any more problems and he was good. He was able to take care of the issue that day. So far, AHS has done a good job and it's a benefit to to have them than to call someone at the spur of the moment, even though you pay a monthly fee.

I had a recent claim to American Home Shield for a dryer repair. It took them a couple of days to get a technician out. It was quick. It was fixed after three visits, though. They couldn't find out what was wrong the first time. The second time, they ordered a part. The third time, they replaced the part, and then, they had to come back out because they didn't tighten stuff up, and it was making noise when the dryer ran. It's running okay now. It was just a couple of days ago that it got resolved.
With AHS, what I found is that it takes multiple visits for anything to get resolved. Also, their phone service totally sucks. I stayed on hold with somebody one time for three hours trying to get a problem resolved. We waited for over six months for a part that they were hoping to get in for a very old appliance. It was a nightmare repair. In the end, it got resolved, but it took forever. Overall, having the policy with them is more or less like a savings account for repairs because we could cancel it and just have to pay stuff out of pocket when it breaks down. If they've gotten a whole lot more money from us, then they had to pay out.

American Home Shield does their job unlike many other folks. I have been happy with every time we've had to use them. My heater stopped working and they came out and said it was dead and they replaced it with a brand new one. They do exactly what they said they would in a timely manner with professional people. They're the only people I'm happy with. Recently, I had to call them about my dryer. The entity that they referred me to never called me. So, I called AHS, the rep reassigned somebody that day, and they were out that afternoon. It was seamless, as with all the rest. The communication with the repair guy was great. I knew when the part had been ordered, when it came in, and when they were coming.

It's a little annoying that the warranty's price keeps going up. Shop around to see if you can get the same kind of service cheaper. But a warranty is always good to have. I like AHS's ease of use. It's a good program and it's reliable. I just put what I need on the website and I usually get a response within a few hours. Recently, one of my air conditioning units wasn't working. The tech was very nice. He showed me what he was doing and explained to me what the problem was and how he fixed it.

There was a contract, which was for my toilet, that I was not happy with. The tech should have spent more time and fixed the issue. He just said, "No, it's not under warranty. They won't claim it." It should be under claim warranty. I went with American Home Shield so I don't have to spend time in calling people. Other than the toilet, the contractors come and I have not seen the issue where American Home Shield is not able to resolve my issue. They're very helpful in that. I called AHS and they filed the claim request for me. They sent the dispatch and he was able to fix the issue. He was able to replace the part immediately. He was a very helpful and nice guy. So, I'm very happy with him.

American Home Shield has been awesome. I like having the peace of mind. And if I ever have an issue, it's usually easy to get something fixed. During COVID, I had an issue with my refrigerator. And even with all the chaos of COVID, they were, “Hey, we can't fix it ‘cause everything's messed up because of COVID. We'll just replace the unit.” And they made replacing it easy. It's one of the reasons I've stayed with them. My AC is a bit older and needed routine maintenance, which is why we have it covered under AHS. The refrigerant was low. We had a different vendor assigned to the ticket. They were very rude and aggressive. So, I called AHS. I said, “Just interacting with this vendor before they've even made it to my house, I don't like them. Can we change vendors?” They sent out Elite Heating who got here on time. They were very polite and respectful. They love my animals, like them, which is odd. And they fixed the problem in less than an hour and they were out.

American Home Shield has always responded quickly, and this specific time was even better than other times because we had a specific case. My son has some special condition. So, they really moved quicker to find me a company that repairs the air conditioning. These guys came really quickly and solved the problem. The AC is working until now.

I've used AHS on the air conditioner that went out twice within a week. The first time it went out, the guy found where the Freon all leaked out. So, he had to put in R22 Freon and I had to pay 660 bucks. American Home Shield doesn't cover that because they don't make it anymore. And they don't tell you that when you buy the policy. They tell you that when your air conditioner breaks down and I'm not a really happy camper about it. They're not honoring my policy as far as I'm concerned. About 10 days later, the AC broke down again and this time it was a part. The company got out there within three days, which wasn't bad, and it took them five minutes to change the part and check everything out. They were there for a total of 20 minutes then the air conditioner was back up running and blowing out cool air. So far, it hasn't broke down again.
The good thing about Vegas is if your air conditioner breaks down during the week, you can always go find one of the casino hotels, because a lot of customers come here during the week. So, you can get $50 room nights in over South Point or MGM or Caesars. But on Saturday and Sunday when you really need a room, the room rates are up to $300 for the weekend. So, you suffer through. Also, when an air conditioner goes out, AHS gives the claim to a company here. I understand all of that, but it takes the company sometimes up to a week before they can get out to see you. It is Vegas and it was 110 when the air conditioner last went out.

Unexpectedly, my husband called me and the dryer was broken. I came home, made a phone call, and it was getting repaired in the same week. So the warranty is nice for the unexpected. When I called AHS, their reps set up the service and they were helpful. Then, I got notifications and updates on the technician. The people called me right away and it worked out well. It was convenient and I liked the cost. The contractor didn't realize that I had American Home Shield when they sent the worker out and I got to see the cost of the service. It's a new home and with AHS, I was very grateful that we had that assurance that we could fall back on the warranty and not have to come out of pocket with a major appliance. I really enjoy it. Sears came out recently for the washer. The tech had to order parts two or three times. The first time, the part didn't do the trick so he had to order two more. That didn't do the trick. Finally, the last piece that he had to order put it back in motion.
But it was the same tech, Benny, and he was so professional and very patient, even with the process of having to come back over and over. He was even apologetic, even though it wasn't his fault, that the parts were not working for the machine and that they couldn't pinpoint the issue because it wasn't showing an error code at all. They had to figure it out remotely. He was on the phone with Samsung and doing as much as he could. Also, he was giving me updates along the way and kept me in the loop of everything that was going on and the parts that he would need to order.

When I was calling to get American Home Shield, my call was answered promptly. But each time I called them for a service, I stayed on hold for a long time. Also, I bought the most expensive package they had, which I was supposed to get $150 off, and I didn't know. So I was calling back and see if they'd apply it, but I'm sure they wouldn't now. So far, even though AHS is pretty expensive, I like that they cover a lot of different things and it was more than what my previous provider might have covered.
Recently, the garbage disposal was leaking. I called AHS and it was very difficult to get a rep. They put me on hold for a very long time but once I got through, everything went fine. The whole process took 25 minutes. The rep gave me two choices, then she gave me the name of the company. The contractor reached out and they were very professional. They also came out and handled the situation quickly. They told me that they would be replacing my garbage disposal and they offered me an upgrade on the type of garbage disposal, which I purchased. Since then, everything has been great.

The toilet wouldn't fill up. I filed the claim online with AHS and the website was very easy and convenient to use. Then, I was given the address, phone number, and the name of the company that was assigned to m claim. I'm one of those timely-type people. I don't like to wait days and weeks to get something fixed. After I filed the claim, the next day the tech was here to fix it, and it was done. It turned out that it had something to do with some kind of seal. He had the proper materials to work on it and he didn't have to leave. It took him all of 20 minutes and he was finished. Other than that, I'm having issues with the claim with my electronical things, which is somehow branched out to Allstate. But I like American Home Shield and the warranty is an excellent thing to invest in.

I have several Home Shield accounts. I usually go on their website for my concerns. It's pretty good. Sometimes I call too. I did a claim when my unit was not cooling. I was given very little information about the service company, just that it had been assigned to a specific contractor. One contractor is Josh Meyer and that is one of the best. Their guy does what he says and he shows up.
I have been with Home Shield for several years and I like the peace of mind. But I've had some things turned down that shouldn't have been turned down. It depends on the contractor. Some contractors come out and they wanna tell you everything is against the code. When considering this home warranty, check all the coverage from all the warranty companies you're considering. Make sure it's apples for apples.

I appreciate Home Shield when they step up and say they were gonna fix or replace something. But I've been frustrated sometimes with how long it takes for them to show up. I’ve been in a position where it took two months to get the washing machine fixed. I had to go buy another one and then the guy shows up a day later to fix the old one. When it comes to appliances, it’s like they're dragging their feet. But overall, it's been helpful. When they do AC and heating, it's always a good experience.

AHS is easy to work with and responsive when we call them. They traditionally respond within 24 hours which is good. Recently, the AC went out. Carlo Mechanical came within 48 hours 'cause it was a weekend. That was fairly quick. They fixed it but the AC went out again. So we called Carlo again and the tech came back. AHS didn't charge us again so it was perfect.

Everything got taken care of a whole lot faster than I thought it would. I was told the AC went out at 5:00 in the afternoon and I thought I was not gonna hear anything out of it until Monday. But by Monday, the tech had come out and checked it. There was a little bit of confusion, though, because AHS doesn't cover much of the Freon. I called the contractor and he said I'm gonna pay $500 something for Freon because AHS only pays so much but other than that, they're covering everything else.
Then, it was just a matter of waiting on the part to come in. It took four days before they got the part and called me back. The tech set an appointment for the following day 8 AM and the next morning, he called me at 7:30 to confirm. He came out but I called him back because the unit was leaking out of the return. They came back and apparently, the PVC pipe where it connects to the unit upstairs in the attic to drain out came disconnected. They jumped up there and fixed it and the unit has been running great since. I like having AHS. They're that little silent guardian going, "Hey, don't worry. The microwave went out. We got this," kind of thing.

AHS was a terrible coverage. But they changed the contract and they were able to include other things in it, so it's a better contract this year. Usually, I really don't really have any issues and I just have them when I have an emergency. The techs who came out were customer service-oriented and this year, they sent out techs to my home a couple of times. I used the service when the showers were leaking and the toilets kept running. I have two bathrooms that were doing the same thing. The tech fixed that which took two and a half hours. He had to replace a cartridge in the showers and he had a good attitude. He worked diligently and got the work done.
Recently, when my dryer was on, it was not getting warm. Then, when I'd open the door to the dryer, there would usually be a light but the light wasn't on anymore. Plus, the dryer just kept tumbling and wouldn't stop. Usually when you open the door, it stops, but it didn’t. I made a service request with AHS and a tech came out and fixed that. He didn't speak English, but he had a translator type of thing on his phone. So, it was hard to ask questions because when I asked why was it this way or what happened there, he really couldn't answer me. Now, the dryer stops. But when the ight is on, it's not heating and it's not drying correctly. So, the tech has to come back out and check it.

The techs have always been polite and knowledgeable. Recently, I had a plumber out for the garbage disposal. They fixed the issue. With AHS, instead of worrying about how much I have to pay when stuff breaks down, I know it's just that $100 fee for the most part. Then, somebody takes care of my problem.

It's a $100 charge for them to send out a service person. Depending on what the issue is, that may be the only charge. We had a new heater put in in 2020 and we had to pay an additional fee for that. We also had work done on the air conditioning this spring. It was an older unit so the tech from United Air Temp had to bring it up to code. We had to pay for that as well. But last week, in the middle of the heat wave, my AC went out again. AHS sent the same contractor out. The issue turned out to be a leak and that was a no-charge fix. The tech was very nice. We've been happy with AHS. We've had an element on our stove and oven that went out and they fixed that. We also had a toilet leak that my husband could not fix because he was in a cast. They fixed that as well.

My microwave would not heat up food. AHS said Sears would be my appliance repair company. But the closest Sears is a few hours away so I wanted to use someone local. I called AHS a few times before I was able to get someone local. That was a little disappointing but I got what I wanted. The contractor was out the next day and they were very quick. The techs told me what they discovered was not working and said they were gonna see if they can get some parts for it. I love that we have protection and that it doesn't cost so much to have the coverage. AHS is a great company to deal with.

My washing machine was broken. The techs couldn't repair it so AHS replaced it. With AHS, we don't have to pay for repairs if possible. The vendors are usually good but it's hit or miss. I've had a couple of plumbers come to fix one thing and they weren't able to do it. When I tried to get them to come back and redo the job, they said that's our problem. So, we did it ourselves.

The inside of my dryer was broken so it was making a crazy noise which sounded like a jet when it was spinning. The cycle would just keep going and going. Then It wasn't draining the clothes properly on a spin level and it was leaking from the side when I put it on basket clean. The techs took information on what was happening with it before they came.
AHS sent me an email saying that the tech told them I needed a new washer and called me the next day. Then, they sent an email telling me to pick the washer I wanted. But they only had one option for the GE that I had. That's what I wanted to keep because I have the GE dryer still and I wanted them to match. But, the washer got delivered without the stand so it sits on the floor. I called yesterday and AHS gave us a discount on a stand that's gonna be arriving shortly. Something always happens in the house, and it's always thousands of dollars. I've been telling people about AHS. Get some insurance in case something happens.

The AC wasn't working right. It was 80 degrees in my place and it was so hot. The furnace was building up like a block of ice. The tech from Budget explained it to me and it needed coolant so he filled it. The coolant wasn't covered, though, but the unit is working so I'm happy. Also, the tech was super nice.

Trying to get someone on the phone seems difficult and then when you get someone and they take the order, they don't make sure that you get a receipt. When I file claims online, that receipt was online immediately. Their process online seems to be a lot better. Also, when I call in, for some reason, the contract number is not matching up with what they have on file so I don't get connected. I've told them about it and when they checked the number, they say, "Well, that's your number." But it's not going through when I'm giving the information.
Other than that, I like the professionalism of their service contractors and their knowledge about the service that they're about to perform. They're reliable as far as either they can repair it or refer it back to American Home Shield to determine if it's something that they cover. I had some air conditioning and heater issues going on recently that Aaron's Plumbing came out for. They resolved the issue very quickly and they also looked at my hot water tank that's leaking water. The tech was able to get that going but it still needs some service.

AHS is easy to use when an issue presents itself. They already have a listing of people to come out and it's not just me trying to figure out who might be good. I had an AC unit that stopped working. The techs were really hard workers and they did a great job. They got here pretty quickly but they had to get some parts. Having AHS simplifies the claim process. The contractors might not be the best but everyone I've worked with has been pretty solid. At least, in some ways, they've been vetted.

The air conditioner quit working. The first tech, James came from A-US Air Texas and they misdiagnosed the issue. James did a lousy inspection. He said, "Oh, everything is fixed." and he put the breaker back on. Two hours later, the AC stopped again. So, I called AHS and they reopened the cast. They sent a senior technician and he said the first thing James should have done was the compressor. It was bad and today, we're supposed to get an installer for that to be changed.
I called AHS yesterday and asked if the AC company will call me. They said, "Oh, the best thing is to contact the AC company." That's a disaster. Every time I call, it goes directly to the Philippines. I've been calling them and they send me to a voicemail. I leave a message for them but nobody returns my call. I will never use A-US Air ever again. They don't show any responsibility toward the customers. We're expecting a horrible heat wave and I have two kids. The least I could have expected was decency to send me a text but they never did. Other than that, I'm very happy with American Home Shield.

Whenever we have problems, I go online, make a service request, and, usually, I almost immediately get a reply on the email. The only issue that I've had is with a couple of American Home Shield's vendors. Last year, we had an AC repair in the middle of the summer and it was three days before the guy was able to get to us and the lady I was dealing with at that particular vendor company was not the best customer-oriented person. Then, they had to order a new fan and fan blades and it took two weeks to get here. I called around half a dozen other people right beside them that had the part. They just didn't want to go next door and get it. They wanted to go their way. But the tech did a great job.
I'm glad with the claim that we just had last week, though. The capacitor on our second unit went out. I did the request on a Saturday night and the tech called on Monday. He said he'd be here Tuesday afternoon and he was and fixed the unit within 10 minutes. Also, when our dishwasher was leaking about three months ago, the tech fixed it and found that I had a different issue altogether. He fixed that too instead of him doing a second service. I've had good service with American Home Shield and I don't foresee us changing. I kind of wish that as consumers, we could call someone if we have an issue on a Saturday night and it's 100 degrees outside instead of waiting for somebody to come out on a Tuesday. But over the years, they've done a lot of stuff for us -- multiple AC fixes, replacing the dishwasher, the dryer, the hot water heater, and the washing machine, and various other things.

I'm 67 years old and I can't do things like I used to. I have to pay for everything and I'm on a fixed income. It's hard to try to keep up with things but I appreciate AHS' service. AHS is good. They take care of your business and do what they have to do. I love the way they handle business and I like the people that come out. It doesn't make any difference where you are from. When you’re working for a company, how you represent yourself is representing the company. And the service is great. I told my sons, my sister-in-law and anybody else about American Home Shield. It is a reputable company. Because you get these fly-by-night companies and they want you to find some people to get your work done. If I had the other company, they would ask me to find someone to come out and service my central air unit. But AHS found someone for me, sent them, and they came right out. I was so pleased.
Once I applied to American Home Shield, I paid extra for electronics and I'm so glad I did. I had a couple of problems just recently. I came into the house and turned on the TV and it went out. AHS handled the problem right then and there. The tech came out and took care of the AC in this hot weather. But it's supposed to get cooler in the house and it started getting hot. So, the guy is coming back on Sunday. He's a nice guy and he'll probably fix it.

The claim was put in for an evaporator coil and I did not like the way it started off. But everything ended up okay. We just had a completely new system put in. We have the air and The Cool Factory, the company that put it in, did an excellent job. But I pray nothing else breaks down that I have to put in a claim to get something fixed. American Home Shield was excellent. But it's moved from that to fair.

American Home Shield was great. I had a problem with my Maytag. The wattage did not come out evenly from the wall. It was supposed to be 120, 120, 120, 120 for different positions. But in two positions, it gave 240 and another combination. The techs spent two hours identifying the problem. They had to Google because it was not common. They are highly experienced but they said they have never seen this. The previous owners had wired wrongly. But I'm very happy with my techs, Joe and Mike. I appreciate their professionalism and courtesy. They went above and beyond, answered all my questions, and even trained me how to use my machine.

One of my water valves would not close and it caused the faucet to run even though it was shut off. I spoke to a representative from American Home Shield and it was good. The troublesome part was that the contract company could not come out for another week so that was a big issue for me. I decided to call FJ Murphy myself and they came out to look at the faucet because I needed that water shut off. Three days later, American Home Shield contracted with them and they installed the last piece, which was a new faucet. They're extremely professional. If anything happens in my area, I would love to have them be my preferred contract company to come out on any plumbing-type issues.
AHS is a little pricey than some but the advantages that come with it, with the response to your housing issues are good. It's just that, sometimes, you don't have control over what contractor is used. I would never have used a company that would have to travel here and cause some decent delays, just like it was at the beginning of this issue.

This is the first time I've ever had to use American Home Shield and it was easy to put the request in. That was the best part. Once I put the request in, I immediately got a service personnel assigned. And then, they called me within 24 hours. So, that was cool. That was the complete opposite with First American where I waited almost four days before they even assigned somebody.
The techs from Ideal came out in a couple of days from the time that they contacted us and got us on the schedule. First, it went to the pool pump. We thought it was the pump itself so the pool people came out. Then they said it was electrical. So, AHS immediately assigned us an electrician. The electrician said it was the pool pump itself. So, they tried to kick it back. So, my husband troubleshot it and he said it was most definitely the electrical. So, I called the electrical people back out. The second guy that came out was great and found the problem. But the first technician that came out wasn't the best. He didn't do much of a check. It has been a great experience with AHS. It's been a breeze. I like that I don't have to call and wait on hold. I can do it all through their website.

The compressor went out and the techs got here quickly after I sent in the request on the website. It was maybe a day. The guy who came was frank and honest. He told me what was happening and that it would take up to two weeks to get the compressor in because American Home Shield buys those at lot and they got to ship it to them. So I knew the timeline and that was okay because I had two air conditioners at this house, so it wasn't like I was cooking in the middle of Texas without an air conditioner. It ended up being a little bit quicker than what he told me at first. It was about a week and a half, and it was fixed.
The only time I had a problem and we never got it fixed was when I needed to replace the stove. The stove was built into a countertop and that never got completed. Someone came and looked at it, and they never got back to us. My wife and I were not gonna worry about it and I was gonna fix it myself. But every other time, it's been satisfactory. So, I'd recommend AHS. I like that big-ticket items like air conditioners don't cost me as much to get repaired. In the long run, by paying the premium every month, I may have already covered it.

It's typically impossible to get through on the phone during business hours. They're always overloaded. But I've always recommended AHS especially to people who have older homes. We've had the service for two decades now and I've lost track of how many service calls we've had. I had a total AC breakdown and I placed the claim at 2 o'clock in the morning. The techs went right to the problem and took care of it. We were back in business in an hour and a half. The AC is working great.

The guy came out and got the T-Cell working way better. However, the plastic connector ring that screws it on had a small crack in it. We realized the pool was leaking but it stopped so it must be good. But two days ago, the level of the pool has gone down three inches. It was leaking water. We put in another claim to get that fixed and the guy was super nice. The crack was on the back end so I didn’t notice it. But now, I can see the crack. I took pictures of it and sent it to them. I was there when the pool guy fixed it and missed it myself too. That's not anybody's fault.

AHS is prompt and they get people out right away. My AC is overworking itself so I wanted to get a tune-up to get it back working correctly. I called AHS and it was easy to get through to a rep. Then, they sent me an email to let me know that May Heating and Air was coming out. May came out right away and the tech let me know that they were gonna clean the outside unit for me. Also, he suggested for me to have some of my ductwork underneath insulated better.

American Home Shield had a contractor come out to my home and the tech didn't repair the AC unit. He left some wiring hooked up to it and my wife and I waited about four weeks, and never got the issue resolved. I ended up having to buy a new AC unit out of pocket because the experience was horrible. We were waiting on a part to come in and it just didn't come in and I couldn't afford to wait. So I was done with American Home Shield. I wasn't satisfied with the technicians that they sent in the past. I was planning on leaving AHS and never coming back. But when the water heater started giving us trouble and T Mayes Plumbing came in, I was extremely satisfied. They were phenomenal and resolved the matter quickly.

We had a leak in the bottom of the tank in the master bathroom toilet and a stoppage and Plymwr Plumbing came out. The guy was very polite and arrived early. He explained what the problem was and what he had done. He told me to call and do a recall, and they would come right back out if there were any follow-ups needed. Right now, everything's working. I get a good response from American Home Shield. I don't go online because it's a delay and last time, I needed several service calls and I called. Within 15 minutes, I noticed the emails already of who the service people would be and their contact numbers. I would recommend AHS. I'm very happy with them. If I wasn't, I would have someone else.

First, they don’t disclose that the 100 dollar copay doesn’t cover all aspects of replacing things. We used them for a water heater and ended up spending around 600 dollars. We then called about our dishwasher, it was repaired but still isn’t working right. Contacted them and they have ghosted us. So we decided to cancel and they are saying they have no record of that and still took money out of our account. And now are trying to say that only specific people can cancel and refund us so we have to wait until that person is in to resolve it. I would not recommend!

I had a clogged floor drain where my AC drains and I inquired with American Home Shield if that was covered. The rep said they reviewed my contract and that particular issue should be covered. Buser Plumbing came out and the repair guys were good, friendly, showed up and went right to the issue. They took a look and made one trip out to their van to grab an additional item and took care of it. They were done within 30 minutes. Everything is functioning as it should. AHS provides cost protection for us. In the long run, maybe it evens out. We enjoy the lower monthly than one large sum to pay out. It's been beneficial for us. We got an older home with older air conditioner and furnace and when those things failed, we were able to get discounts on replacement items where needed, and the items were covered almost fully where they could be. There's a convenience and ease factor with it.

Although they were scheduled to contact me that day, I contacted them and set up an appointment. I've had a good experience with AHS. For my recent claim, the air wasn't working. I called AHS. They said they would let me know after they sent the technician. The tech came out and said it was the compressor. The only thing that was under the warranty from the manufacturer was the actual compressor, so the labor and the Freon were through Air Doctor, but my plan also covered the Freon.

My most recent claim to American Home Shield was for a pool pump. It took about a day or two for the tech to reach out to me. Then, unfortunately, he and I were both going on vacation. So, it would have been faster if that wasn't the case but he said he would call me on Thursday and he did. I didn't really talk to him too much, but he seemed polite and he knew what he was doing. There's just been a few times that I've had to call AHS. One claim was another pool issue, and I tried to cancel that service and it was difficult to do. We decided to fix it out of pocket instead. So, I already paid the $100, but it was really difficult to try to deal with them for that.

I'm satisfied with American Home Shield. In all the years I had them, I only called them three times. The claim submission process is easy. You call them and the rep takes the information right over the phone. Generally, the contractor calls and then AHS sets up an appointment. City Plumbing came out recently to fix the toilet. The tech put a wax ring on it. He was really good. I just had to call him back for a leak. I thought it was leaking from the repair he did, but it was leaking from the loose fitting. So he came out and fixed that the next day. I've only been disappointed with AHS once. My big ceiling fan in the living room went out, and somebody came out and checked and said that the blades were bent. AHS refused to fix or replace it. So, the fan is still there.

I've been with AHS for four months now. But I previously had them for three years in my previous home. The service of AHS has been good. Although, I don't agree with some of the coverage recently on my dryer. But they gave me an explanation on why it wasn't wear and tear. The companies they're using now are a little better. Before, I had the same company and they would always reschedule their service. They would always give me the runaround about when they were gonna get there at a certain time but they wouldn't. It was a lot of playing tag all the time. This year, the vendors are always on time. They're friendly and they explain everything. The only little thing that I didn't like was not to be covered with my dryer. But other than that, everything's been excellent.

The contractors AHS sends out are good. I always get email and text message updates on the part being ordered and when they're coming out. One time, they couldn't fix something and we ended up getting a new thing. Recently, I had a claim for something on the oven. On the third time, they finally got the part they needed. They fixed it and it worked. The contractor that came out was very professional.

I had a leak on some valve on the motor of my pool filter. I went online, set up a ticket, and then American Home Shield sent out somebody. The contractor had to order a part. When they got the part and three days later, they were back and fixed it. They did a nice job. I'm happy. Overall, I like that I can call American Home Shield or I can go online, and then they charge me $75, and they fix the problem.

I have a claim for my refrigerator and the contractor let American Home Shield know that they can't replace the part because they no longer make them. They already sent me an email to replace the refrigerator. They said the earliest they could bring it is on August 13th. So I had to throw all that food away. I just bought groceries.
I've had a claim for my garbage disposal and the technician that came out was horrible. Then I contacted American Home Shield because they rejected the claim. They sent the same person back out. I didn't like that. He came back and then he rejected the claim again. I called American Home Shield and told them I wanted to cancel. They said, "Well, let us send someone else out." They sent out a different contractor who was nice and lovely. He said, "This is clearly where it leaks. It means it's broken." They replaced the garbage disposal.
That was the only bad experience I had with a technician and I'm glad I didn't let American Home Shield go. Every other technician I've had after that was good. If there was a problem, they let me know right away. But I started with American Home Shield at $34 a month and then last year, it went up to $44 a month. Then this September, it went up to $54 a month.

AHS has been very efficient. We had a bathroom ceiling fan that stopped working, and a technician came out to check it, verified that the motor was shot and ordered a new motor. A week later, they came back with a motor, installed it, and we were fine. After that, I had another situation where the icemaker in my refrigerator failed. The technician came out, and again, removed the icemaker, did some checks on it electrically to find that the motor in that also gave out. They ordered a replacement icemaker. The technician, again, was excellent.

The flapper in my toilet was leaking water every once in a while. The water would go down, and then when it would go down, the water would start running all by itself without me flushing it. The contractor replaced the flapper and put everything back together. It's been fine ever since. But $75 for that was too high. All he did was replace a $5 flapper and then he installed it.

My air conditioner went out. I called the company, because that's what I do rather than wait for the company to call me. This happened on a Thursday but the company couldn't fit me in until the following Friday. We were in the middle of a heat wave. I called American Home Shield and told them I couldn't do that. They said, “Let me see what we can do. We can expedite.” A few hours later, I got notified that another company was going to contact me. That company contacted me pronto. They were out the next day and fixed my air conditioner. The repairman came in the house, went outside to look at the air conditioner, came back, and said, “I gotta get my bag. I'll be right back.” He went outside and came back in the house. He said, “I found your problem. I got to go to my car to get the part.” He went to his car and got the part. He said, “It'll take a few hours for the air to get cooler in here.” It was fantastic. I would like to have them all the time if the air condition goes out.
By having the warranty, usually somebody will come out either that day or the next day. So far, everybody has fixed whatever problem I've had, except for one company. A light burnt out, and I couldn't get it out of the refrigerator. It was in an awkward spot. I ended up, by accident, breaking the light bulb. I had to call the warranty company and said, “I broke the light bulb, and I need somebody to come out and get it out for me.” An electrician came out and said, "Your light is not working. I have to order a new part.” I said, “The light bulb burned out. Why do you have to order a new part? I got the light bulb right here.” He said, “Oh, that's your problem?” He took the broken light bulb out and put the one that I had bought in. I reported him to the warranty company. It was like that company was just trying to screw the warranty company by adding things that didn't need to be fixed.
The only thing I didn't like about American Home Shield was I had called a number and got this automated system. I did not like the automated system at all ‘cause I kept having to repeat myself. I dug up my old number where I could talk to somebody. That was when I called and told them I got a problem.

We've used AHS a number of times. When I submit a request online, it gets quickly assigned to a contractor, and usually, within a few days the techs are here to take care of the problem. The process has been really easy. We just went through it with our refrigerator. The refrigerator wasn't cooling. I went online and submitted a request. A gentleman came out, took a look, quickly diagnosed it, and the next week, was back with the parts that needed to be replaced.

American Home Shield's rate has gone up so much and I don't know if I'll be able to afford it. I paid 870 something dollars this year. I had a tech from Draingo put the insides in and fixed the handle on my hot water. His name is Frankie and he's been out here several times over the years. He's been super nice. For one of my bathrooms, Draingo had to replace the tank, and it took almost half a day to replace the commode. My tank started leaking, and they said it didn't happen very often. They fixed it and then they were able to replace the tank. I've had some problems with American Home Shield over the years. The number one problem is I don't like talking to a machine, and it's hard to find a person to talk to when you need to talk to them. I don't have a computer and I have arthritis so bad that I cannot type. I have to speak on my phone.

With American Home Shield, I like being able to pay a service call and having somebody come out. I like the feature to go online and submit a work order and not having to wait to talk to somebody. Recently, my line froze over, so we had to thaw them out then the repairman put some freon in it. He was alright, but I was surprised he was in shorts and a shirt and flip flops. The same day that they came out, I had to get an element and a thermostat replaced on my hot water heater too. Everything was taken care of.

American Home Shield is good service. The claims process is very easy and convenient. But I was really pissed off this year that they've raised their rates so much. The yearly fee and then the service fee have both went astronomically high. I almost didn't renew with them. Also, you can never talk to their customer service. You're on hold for too long. You have to order service through online. I just ordered service for my fridge that wasn't working. American Home Shield dispatched the person right away, and they came over and fixed it. Everything was fine. If it doesn't keep working within 30 days, I just go back in the app and they'll patch them back out to check to see what went wrong.

AHS is very good. I've been a member for over 10 years. My air conditioning unit went out during that time. They were able to replace that for me. If I need service, the company will call and someone will come out, and they'll let me know if it's covered or not. If it's covered, they'll take care of it. If it's not, they won't. I had a recent claim for the refrigerator and it was an easy process. The gentleman came out and looked at the refrigerator and said the parts that were needed were no longer in service. They decided to just go ahead and replace it. They covered the whole replacement and they told me a brand that I could get and that they could have delivered. It's similar to what I have now so it was not an issue. I went and took it. I'm waiting for it to be delivered on the 10th.

I gave American Home Shield a call regarding the washer. This was better than the last time. Last time, it was difficult. The reps are helpful but it's more of a struggle to get them to do what you need them to do or even move. Everything's not an emergency. Once we scheduled a time period, they came out. We had to schedule that four days. Initially, they took a look at it. Then they had to order parts. That threw me out more time. Once the part came in, they tried to put it on. But it didn't work. It threw me out more time.
Now, I'm waiting on a payment but it's been a long time and there's no consideration that I'm without a washer. There's no over communication of letting me know what's going on. I'm calling and trying to find out information that should just be given to me because I'm a customer. The other part that's troubling is understanding what's covered and what's not. It seems like they're not covering as much as a lot of them out there.

I've had AHS for a few years. For the most part, I've been satisfied. However, I had a compressor that was failing and they would cover most of it. But the compressor needed an electrical line set modification and they were not going to cover that part of it because my AC was older and has to have this line set modification to replace with the new compressor. They were only covering $10 a pound of Freon and it was $80 a pound. But they have covered the items that they said they would. So, they've done well for me.

The air conditioner in my condo was not behaving. American Home Shield sent somebody out immediately and they fixed it. The dishwasher in the house I just bought decided not to work. American Home Shield sent out someone from Hayes Appliances to look at it. Hayes Appliances was wonderful. The tech that came out was very knowledgeable and friendly. He came on time and he was speedy.
The first thing that the tech fixed on the dishwasher was a control panel. He felt certain that was going to do it, but it was something else in addition to that part that was a problem. He practically crawled under the machine and felt around in there and realized it was the pump, which was too expensive to repair in these older machines. He made the report and the next thing I have was an email inviting me to pick a dishwasher. So within two weeks, I'm getting a new dishwasher. I selected the unit that they thought was best. It was practically identical to the one that died.

I like my service with AHS. They tend to be very speedy and get things taken care of. I had one appliance and one plumbing claim. They covered it. I like that I don't have to vet the technicians. AHS has done that for me, which is one of the reasons why I got them when I first moved down here because I didn't know anybody. But I may not renew the policy because the cost has more than doubled since I first got it.

So far, the people American Home Shield has sent out do the job without a lot of up-salesmanship. Taz Plumbing came out recently for a toilet. The bolt broke on the flange that's connected to the floor. The plumber had to come out, pull the toilet up, put a new wax seal on it and new flange bolts. He put down commercial throw rug around the toilet so the floor didn't get all messed up. He also did something I didn't expect to. He put a silicone seal around the base of the toilet which is above and beyond.
We've had contractors in once in a while where things didn't quite work out the way they were supposed to. American Home Shield is a little gun-shy as far as our AC unit. We had water leaking into the house after a storm. I thought it was a roof, but it turned out it was the AC unit that was doing it. I filed a claim against it. They sent sent out an AC guy to verify. He said, "It's not your roof, it's the AC unit." That was when I phoned in a service call to American Home Shield. It took a couple of weeks to get the contractor out here. It's one of those situations where I know they're expensive and American Home Shield does not wanna replace it at all. They band-aided it back together again but it never stopped running. It was leaking internally.

I had a problem with was the provider AHS sent me on a plumbing job. He was not good. He told me to stop pouring grease into the kitchen sink. I told him we weren't pouring grease in there. Then there was one other guy that did our refrigerator repair and he wasn't very good as well. With the freon on the air conditioner, I had to pay for that separately. I had to buy it by the pound. But the rest have been well. The service has been quick. We understand the delay when there's a problem with weather or power outages 'cause everybody's having the same problem. But outside of that, they've been responsive.

The whole experience with American Home Shield was great. However, I have had a bigger problem with my other property for a refrigerator repair. I'm still trying to work through that. I don't think the folks here in Salt Lake that came out knew what they were doing. They came out twice but my refrigerator still hasn't been repaired. We had an issue with our ice maker. We filed a claim with AHS and a contractor was out within the week. The tech recommended that it be replaced, and it took AHS a couple of days to get us the paperwork, but they sent it out to replace it. Now we're waiting for the email that says when they're gonna be replacing it. All in all, our experience is good. AHS is good to have, so if something breaks or if you have an issue with something, you can just call them and file a claim, and they find you a tech. It's a one-stop shop instead of having to find a repair person.

My stovetop was cracked and the the self-cleaning feature of the oven was not working. The technician who came was prompt. He gave me the estimate then AHS sent me a text saying it would cost more to fix the stove than if I got a new one so I got a replacement cost. AHS gives me comfort and peace of mind. I don't have to worry about something going out because it's covered. My brother recommended AHS to me and he's well-pleased with them too.

The container in the washing machine that holds bleach after we ran a white wash with bleach bled into the next wash. If it was any other color, it would get little spots of bleach on it. I called American Home Shield and they gave us the name and the phone number of the contractor. It was the second time that we had complained about this. The first contractor thought they fixed it. But whatever he did, he didn't do it well.
I always recommend American Home Shield. I like the fact that if something extremely expensive breaks and they can't fix it after the third visit, American Home Shield has to replace it. There are things that I don't like but no policy is perfect. In the end, my experience has been, in this house, that they are worth it. The service is very good. The contractors usually get here promptly and most things that are wrong can be fixed within a day. There are times when they can't show up for a long time. We were having an extremely hot summer, and our air conditioning broke down and the contractor couldn't get here for quite a while. They had so many calls because it was a very bad summer. They couldn't get someone here, so we had to pay for someone to come and repair it on our own. But other than times like that when they are overloaded with calls to repair HVAC systems that break down during the summer, we haven't had any problem with them.

I'm frustrated with American Home Shield. We have been without a dryer for about a month now. We called and got Bay to Bay Appliance. They came out and have been very nice. We've probably had six visits and they've replaced everything that's in the dryer several times in a variety of orders, but it does not blow hot air. It's been at least a week since the last time. There was one technician who waited and ran it and he could see whatever happened burning and shorting out. I called Bay to Bay but they're not answering my calls. I've gotten some sort of an update today from American Home Shield, but it doesn't tell me what they're doing. From what Bay to Bay had told us, the next step is they would replace the dryer. I've left at least two messages every day this week but they've never called me back. I don't know if it's the company or if they're not getting a good response from American Home Shield.
We've been with American Home Shield almost 30 years. This is not exactly what we would expect. They've replaced our dishwasher and our microwave when it couldn't be fixed. If they can't fix our dryer, then they should replace it. We've been without a dryer now for a month. We also had a claim on our air conditioner. It will cool then it gets overwhelmed. They sent a technician out and he said he looked at it but couldn't find anything. But afterwards, we got billed for this optional part, which the technician never mentioned when he was here. It was $131 to put in a valve. He also tried to sell us a new unit and I don't know that that's what we need. We're having somebody else on our own to come out and look at it.
We're in Florida so our air conditioning dies every once in a while. We've had technician after technician tell us, "It doesn't matter what you do and what you say, American Home Shield will not replace your air conditioner. They will tell you to keep replacing whatever part." We had it replaced when we were in Kentucky. They replaced our heat pump for us. But down here, what the technicians are telling us is very inconsistent. Sometimes they submit a claim and American Home Shield will say, "We'll go ahead and replace that," or in the case of the dryer, they keep saying, "It's failed repair, we're not getting it replaced."
I've been pleased that I can go online and request for service, and the response has been quick as far as people making quick appointments. But we have had an instance where I have thrown the person out of our house. There was a plumber that came to repair something with our sink but he broke it and made it worse then denied it. He was so rude and horrible. I put in a request that that company never come to our house again. But American Home Shield sent them. When I called the complaint directly to that company, I was very polite with them, but they hung up on me.

I'm very impressed with American Home Shield. They get somebody right out to the service call and take care of the problem right away. The latest claim I had with them was a plumbing issue. I was comfortable with it even though I had to wait a few days. The contractor still came right out when they said they would. They estimated the problem, got right on it, and cleared it up right away. American Home Shield covered everything. I recommend them to all my friends 'cause it's money very well spent.

American Home Shield has been very helpful. A contractor came out for the AC. It was the worst you could imagine in the middle of summer so we spent a couple of weeks sweating good but everything worked out well for us. The techs had to get parts and this was the process for a couple of weeks with them coming, trying and adjusting things. Then we had to wait about a week for the parts to come in. It wasn't too bad of a deal. But we were without AC for a little bit. So we just spent a little extra time outside and ran some fans.
We're not completely up and running now. Our AC still likes to run six degrees above where we have the thermostat set, which is awful. It should keep up a little bit better than that. So yesterday, we reopened the ticket with AHS. The tech adjusted some more stuff with the Freon and kept tabs on us. They said they'd give me a call this afternoon when it was a little bit hotter to see how things were doing. It sucks but we'll get through it. The customer service has been excellent and it was easy to initiate the need for service.

The contractor diagnosed our air conditioning problem and American Home Shield replaced the unit. It had to do with the condenser. There was a leak. If AHS does a replacement, they should have better communication with the customer. And they should cover more of the cost of the product replacement.

Our refrigerator was making weird noises and the guy who came out said we just needed to clean the coils at the back of the refrigerator, which we had never done and the fridge is 11 years old. He said that ought to do it. But that didn't do it and I needed to contact American Home Shield and let them know. But contacting them is like herding cats. To get a person on the line, you're gonna be on hold for a long time. It's like calling tech support, which is why I've been putting off contacting them. AHS should have more people available to answer the phone. Everybody's having trouble getting employees these days but that would solve the problem. Or in some places, when you call and there's a long wait time, they offer to call you back. That would be a nice option. Still, having AHS means one less worry on my plate. The $95 a month we have to pay for the coverage is a little steep, but it's worth it.

The rep from American Home Shield was nice and got me what I needed immediately when I submitted the claim for the AC. It was leaking water and it was just all in the floor and everything from the unit. But it was fine. The guy knew exactly what it was and took care of it in about 15 minutes. AHS was great. I'd use them again.

We had something pop off on our dishwasher and melted to the heating element. I could have ordered a new part and popped it on, but I didn't know if it had messed anything else up. So, I wanted somebody who knew what they were doing to come check it out and American Home Shield got someone out. It was easy to use. That was the first time I made a claim. I made the claim at night, they had already matched me with somebody that night, the people called me the next day when they were open. I didn't get the call. She told me I could text them and make an appointment that way. I was able to make an appointment via text message, which was great, because of the hours I work or the hours they work. And the guy was out here the next day. The guy messaged me 30 minutes before he came. He got it fixed and was in and out in no time. Everything is running like it should.

American Home Shield is a good company. I really like them. We called them because the house wasn't getting cold. The tech who fixed the issue was good. I liked him. First, he checked the unit to see if the air was coming out. He said it was coming out good. My husband still told him to check the air conditioner. He went outside and went up the roof and checked it out, and it was missing some Freon. Once he put on Freon, the house was getting colder.
We had two contractors come in, but we liked the latest one they sent us. The other company that came in was assigned to us the second time we called, and my husband didn't like it because they were charging us 1,700 to put on Freon. So, we were looking for another opinion. My husband said that they didn't even need that much Freon. We were like, “That company is ripping us off.” Once we had another problem with the air conditioner, AHS sent us the same company, but my husband called them. We were like, “We don't want them.” That was when we got the one we had right now. Their guy said it just needed so little.

Having American Home Shield is a reassurance of having an additional insurance coverage for items that could be a lot more expensive to cover. Sometimes, it's hit and miss about things that they will cover. The things that they don't cover is surprising. Also, their prices go up depending on the claims that you have for a year. That is something that's not satisfactory at times. But overall, I continue to renew my contract with them. The air conditioner in the home went out. The contractor scheduled a time with me to come out on one day. But they were able to get there a day before. So, that was pleasing. It went very well.
