The service has been excellent. I've had a microwave repaired and a dishwasher fixed. I've had the fan motor in my heater and air conditioner repaired, or replaced recently. They were pretty prompt. I'd called in another service request and got some other company. I wish I wrote down the number because the lady says, "Don't you know you have a 60-day warranty that they had to come back out if anything was wrong with it?" So what happened was there was another noise in the fan area and the guy came out and it was just a simple wire. But other than that, the experience I've had with them has been okay. It's been excellent dealing with them.

Excellent. Everybody should really get it especially if you’re like I am. I’m a senior citizen and it has really saved my life as far as financially. If you call or do it online, they send somebody out and it’s always immediately and always these people are so happy to have the job... to have been selected. This last one that I had, which was right at Christmas time, my heating went out (for Bakersfield it was a really cold snap). They came out and the first time they came they thought they fixed it but they did not. It only worked for a couple of days. And so they themselves, because they belonged to American Home Shield, came out the second time and did it and they didn’t charge me at all. They have been wonderful!!!

Long story short: We moved into our 4500sq antique home April 2013. I called AHS for handful of plumbing issues, all of which could have been fixed in 2 visits tops. Jan 2014 and I'm still dealing with the fallout these issues. What it boils down to is that AHS does not have its end client in mind, and their structure incentivizes their technicians to prolong the work and create more issues in your home so that they can come back and charge more. AHS loses out on this structure as well, so it makes no sense to me.
Bottom line, I'm out $500, plus the cost of the plan, so over $1000. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with AHS, days where I was chained to the house because I had to wait for multiple and unnecessary technician visits and aggravation. In the end, I would have been significantly better off without the plan, which on top of it all is limited and has all sorts of restrictions on it. Frankly, it's the most useless thing you could do, and you might as well shoot yourself in the foot if you buy a plan with AHS.

I have a cousin that lives in Myrtle Beach and when my husband passed away nine years ago and he came to visit me he said I needed something to help me with my home if things broke. And he recommended I get American Home Shield so I did. The plan covers everything in my house. They do fix things. I just went through a big ordeal and it took too long. But maybe that wasn't their fault but the contractor's fault. I'm glad I had them because my furnace went out. They need to check out the people they got contracted to come. Because anyone that's in heating and air and comes and looks at it for three times in nine days and can't fix a furnace needs another job. I told them but had to pay extra fee because I wouldn't let those people come back to my house because they sent someone out of Lexington. And the man walked right up to it, pulled the motor out, and told me what was wrong but had to order the part. That took a lot of time.

As a retired electrician, I thought it was a good idea to get a home warranty. We have a big house. When I heard about these home shield programs, I started with another one first but when I read some complaints from some of the other customers, I started to cancel it and looked around and found American Home Shield. I tried it. So far, they respond pretty good. I only had a problem with one contractor which I complained about. Every time I have a plumbing problem, they send him back and I tell them, I don't want this guy here anymore, to send me somebody else and they do. They send me somebody else. With everybody that has come, the work has been done. I can't complain. It's been good.

I've been with American Home Shield for several years and purchased the plan that covers most of the appliances. The first thing we had was a compressor for our refrigerator. That was good. I just had a water heater installed by them. They seemed to know exactly what was needed. I was a little disappointed, the expense was a lot higher than I expected but they said there's a new rule about water heater appliances so that is what we did. Overall it was good. I would probably stay with them or recommend them. I honestly don’t know of another company that does that.

My experience has been very good. The first time we submitted a claim, we did not get our refrigerator replaced because it was two days before Thanksgiving when our refrigerator died. It took a couple of days to get the people out there to look at it. And then they would have to check it out. I said, "Oh no, we have to have a refrigerator for Thanksgiving because we were having a house full of people." So we just went ahead and bought one. But they are great. I just love American Home Shield.

We highly recommend American Home Shield. We've had it about 10 years now. It proved to be a good choice. They are great. I call with a problem and they send somebody out. It's excellent. I had a problem about 5 years ago, someone came out for a dishwasher and took my money (at that time it was $60) and never called me back. He said he was going to order a part. I could never get a hold of him and I called AHS and told them what the problem was. They verified it and they sent somebody else out and he was fine. And that wasn't their fault. It was resolved very well. I'm getting more than I expected with them.

American Home Shield is a complete SCAM!. I have called them three times just tonight just to get my dishwasher fixed, and I have been on hold for an hour! When I got through to someone, I was told that this was considered a "pre-existing" condition and therefore was not covered! I just bought my house and the warranty was purchased at the same time. How would this be a pre-existing situation if I didn't know the dishwasher was broken when I purchased the warranty? They just leave you on hold forever so they don't have to deal with you and make up their own rules so they don't have to perform on their contract.

We have had AHS for quite some time. We used them a couple of times. We had been speaking with friends and they complained about how AHS policies had changed. We defended them, but soon found out what they were talking about. We had a water leak and they sent a plumber out. We paid our $75 fee and then the plumber called in on the repair. AHS would not cover the repair. So the plumber said it would cost $2500 to repair and re-route the lines. We argued with AHS and they were very rude and obstinate. That's great customer service. I finally contacted a plumber on my own. All it took was a new water bib outside and the leak was fixed. A whopping $93. Consequently, we have canceled our plan with AHS.
I would recommend running away from them and find an honest repair service. Do your homework and find someone via neighborhood referral or from friends. This warranty service is as good as the paper it is written on.

If nothing else, they are consistent ... consistently bad. It has gotten to the point where I believe I will have to sue them to get them to observe the terms of their own contract. After six (6) visits from six different technicians, and one outside electrician I had to hire when their second to last tech somehow disconnected my dishwasher from the home's electrical supply, the dishwasher STILL DOESN'T WORK (it NEVER did). When I called and explained this to them and to try to get them to finally concede that the dishwasher needed to be replaced, not repaired, they declined, claiming they needed to have a "BOSCH certified technician diagnose the problem and decide if the appliance needed to be replaced." But this raises two questions: 1) why didn't AHS send "a BOSCH certified technician" to fix my machine in the first place? and 2) Why couldn't AHS go to any of the first five (5) technicians they sent to waltz through my home to try and fix the dishwasher in the first place and ask them for a diagnosis? No answer to either of these questions has ever been forthcoming.
Finally, acceded to what AHS required and brought out a real, honest to goodness BOSCH certified technician to my house. Not surprisingly, after a relatively brief examination of the appliance (because its condition was rather obvious), he confirmed the machine was irreparable. That was written up and submitted to AHS by me and the technician. However, instead of resolving the matter, it was merely the beginning of the next movement in this dance of the ridiculous. AHS wanted to replace a metallic finish, $800.00 dollar BOSCH dishwasher with a $500.00 black or white Whirlpool. WTF?? When asked, they claimed they were not obligated to replace the same brand or color. Okay, we were willing to work with them on the brand, but the COLOR?!?!?!? Since when did metallic FINISH equal COLOR? But no, no more discussions. This is their position. My only, and last resort is litigation. THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LACKING IN EVERY RESPECT. THEIR REGULAR PRACTICES ARE EXACTLY WHAT EVERY EVIL STEREOTYPE OF AN INSURANCE COMPANY IS MADE UP OF. STEER CLEAR OF THIS INSURER. RUN.

We rented out a house and got American Home Shield. Our plan covered everything that we had. We don’t have sump pumps, swimming pools. We have routine appliances. So it was the best covering for what we had. The only issue I have with AHS people is that they are hard to get a hold of at times. They are kind of miserable. They don’t answer the phone. I know everybody’s that way but it’s still aggravating. We had a two-month debacle with a heat pump and the compressor went out. The guy came out and was going to fix it and then he said no, he couldn't do that and he had to have a different compressor so we’re sitting there without any heat for over a month. And the guy recommended a compressor. He arrived in town. I called him that morning to set up an appointment and he said, “No, we don’t need it. What’s in there is working fine.” It wasn't working fine. He had called American Shield and closed it up, the whole nine yards.
I happened to have a friend here in Phoenix that knew somebody and I got a hold of one vice president’s office and I was just having it fixed. In the meantime, I had to go get somebody to go in and look and get that heat pump. This was from the 7th of December until like mid January. And anyway, the guy had wired it in wrong so the compressor would never work the way they’d wired it. So I wrote him a letter. I got the name and I wrote him a letter and lo and behold, they called the contractor I used and they refunded what I paid him, and I was highly impressed. I’m glad they corrected it. They did but if I had not gotten a hold of somebody here that knew the vice president because she lived here, I don’t think I would ever have gotten that done. All they could tell me is it’s closed out and I needed help. They just wouldn't listen. They wouldn't talk to me. They just said it’s done. Contract is done. It’s over.
I got lucky. I knew the right people. I would say I wouldn't recommend them to a friend because it was a debacle and there was a problem in getting a hold of somebody when the contractor did a bad job. But other than that, it’s fine. I've used them several times. They weren't perfect. They were hard to get a hold of to get a correction but overall I've been satisfied.

We have the basic plan with American Home Shield. The last experience was terrible. Our water heater went out. I called them. They sent over Union Plumbing Company that came out and told us it would cost us $760 out of our pocket. They were charging us $150 to get a permit. I went down there and got the permit for $40. They were charging us a hundred and some dollars for disposal. All you got to do is put it in front and they take it away. We got them down to a reasonable figure after getting the permit. So we told them to put in the new one. They came and put in the new one and I found out it only had a five-year warranty. The one they replaced had a nine-year warranty. But he said, "This is all they will pay for," which I think is horrible especially when he says, "It will last you about three years." He told me all this after he installed it. And even the building inspector that came out from the city says he has never heard of this make or a water heater with a five-year warranty.
We had a different warranty company before we had Home Shield and we had a washer replaced and they replaced it with as good a one I had before. This is the first time we had this, with Home Shield replacing the water heater. And I was up in arms about what they replaced it with and how much extra it cost us. But when a water heater is leaking all over the floor, you don't have a choice. It had to be done. We're not too happy. I never called them back because it was too late. They're not going to replace it now after it's installed. That experience turned sour, especially what it cost us out of our pocket also.

And they're always neatly dressed, not shabby, and well groomed, hair cut and polite. Just super!! I'm SO GLAD! When I call them when I have a problem with the furnace or something, right away they call back within an hour. Then they say that they have somebody in this area and come right out. I always get the man's name and he won't even take a bottle of water or anything. I'd call back the company and tell them what a nice serviceman they have. Filed a claim for my dishwasher on November 13, 2013 and as of today, January 7, 2014, I still do not have a dishwasher installed. I have called them 2 to 3 times a week and have been getting the run around. Initially, they sent a repairman out who reported back to American Home Shield that the parts for the dishwasher that were needed were no longer available. I had to call back after not hearing from AHS to find out what the status was of my claim to find out that they were replacing it. Took until December 19, 2013 to have a new dishwasher delivered and installed.
The new dishwasher was found to be damaged when the installation was attempted. Approximately a week after that, a second dishwasher was delivered and today that dishwasher sits in my dining room. Repeated calls to their customer service provide no results. I get the same response. I will hear back from them in 24 to 48 hours. I then have to call them back after not hearing from them. American Home Shield was the plan when I bought my house. Several years ago, we had a problem with the furnace and that was fine. They came in and fixed it. And then the technician said, "Well before we can fix it, we have to do a modification." That's what he called it. It was around $500 out of our pocket. They did that and Home Shield said, "We can't pay for this modification. That's not covered, but it has to be done." I wish, now to this day, I had said "Show me the modification." It took them about 15 minutes and they walked out with my cash. And American Home Shield was adamant that they would not help out at all. It was a real stretch for us to have that much money at that time. And that made me very, very, very angry. I feel I got took.
We had work going on in the house. I didn't have time to deal with it at that moment. Whatever it was that they did was so small and they kept talking around in circles. It had something to do with an air duct, making it larger or something. I thought that was wrong. Then there was one other thing that was very similar to that. One of the men who came to fix a certain thing did not like going through American Home Shield. He wanted me to cancel American Home Shield and he would fix the problem at his rate because he complained to me how he loses money every time American Home Shield asks him to do something. That what they do is they get people to go on board and then they drop the price that they will pay so that the technician isn't making very much money at all. And I told him no. I said I pay all this money every year for American Home Shield and we're going to use that. And if you don't like that, I suggest that you stop working through them.
Those are the two things that happened that I didn't like. That makes me understand sometimes some of the technicians come over and they have a bit of an attitude. That's not my fault because you chose to do work through them. I didn't know that that's how it worked. I didn't know that they were getting a lot less money than they would normally charge.
In spite of those two things, I've had this plan for about 13-1/2 years now because things are taken care of. I recommended them to both of my daughters when they bought their homes. So both of my daughters have American Home Shield plans on their homes. Having American Home Shield is a good thing. All of the work I've ever had done was excellent. I never had any trouble with anything. It's a good thing to have American Home Shield. They do what needs to be done and I'm grateful for it.

I have had a contract with AHS since I purchased my home approximately 8+ years ago. On average I may have one service call a year. Until recently, I never would have hesitated to refer a friend to AHS. However, due to the low quality of the service providers, increase in service call fees and excuses as to non-coverage, I will no longer do so.
I have an older home (built in 1955) with an old heater (hence my AHS contract). A day ago the heater stopped working and would not go about approximately 60 degrees. (It was 19 degrees here last night) The service report left by the service provider told me that the heater unit was "tripping" and that it was caused by a blocked evaporator coil, "very dirty blower and assembly". Further, he stated that the unit needed to be pulled and cleaned. Per AHS this is routine maintenance and therefore not covered under the warranty. The funny thing is the service provider also told me that my system was old and that after next year they would not even be able to replace the freon in the unit (Amazingly, that did not end up on the report). Probably because that meant they would have to provide coverage due to normal wear and tear instead of blaming poor maintenance on me. Further, even if I agreed to pay the cost out of pocket, the service provider was not prepared to do the work the same day he came out.
When I called to dispute the non-coverage with AHS, I was told I had to wait 24-48 hours to speak with a supervisor. Seriously? What kind of company cannot provide a supervisor upon request during normal business hours? That's great. What's another night without real heat right? Basically it appears that they have this as their "policy" so that their customers get frustrated and give up and pay out of their own pocket. AHS' quality of service and coverage has decreased over the years. I will most likely be cancelling my service contract and seeking coverage elsewhere. AHS definitely does not value its customers!

Yesterday they came out 2 different times and the second time left saying "well I am going to have to bring boss back in a few days to look at it. It doesn't make sense that it is not working." Well ok but the last two days have been the coldest on record and yes we have heat upstairs but not even the emergency heat is working downstairs and in fact running the "heat" only makes it colder in the house.
I called AHS and asked if there was anyone else they could send and I was informed that only Greenway was available in our area. I find that hard to believe but at this point I am ready to call an actual HVAC company and get the heat pump fixed and then bill AHS. I sit here in three layers of clothes, with all the doors closed to other rooms with the space heater blowing at top speed and I am still cold. Granted there are people that don't have heat and have frozen/burst pipes but this has been going on since November and it is STILL NOT FIXED.

I ended up paying at least 50% of that which I didn't think was right because my understanding was that they either repair or replace with me paying just the service fee which is now $75. When I first started it was about $20 or $25. So that was not a good experience and I'm afraid I might have run the same thing whenever one of air conditioner unit goes down. American Home Shield is a good company but there are some things I don't like. It is an issue with replacement. When I first took the warranty, I thought if things would be repaired it would get fixed. In the last couple repairs that we had, things have been fixed correctly but they should have been replaced with the age of appliances and numerous repairs they've gone through. We had some major appliances fixed and we had issues with it. I don't know if I could recommend them to other people. I've had good and bad experiences. The problem is once we had issues with some of the appliances, instantly they change their warranty. Right now they have things where before they do replace them, but it was hard to get a replacement, now they half everything on a certain amount.
For minor repairs they are great at coming out and fixing it and getting the part, but I know when we had repairs done on our systems that was very painful. We have our heat pump warranted through them and if it happens to go out, $3000 wouldn't cover the repair, they had to be replaced. If it's just a maintenance thing that has to be fixed that had to be fine, but if the item had to be replaced, the coverage isn't there anymore. And it would be nice if they offer things where they could give a credit for items that cannot be replaced. Our warranty was renewed in the summer and they changed their coverage and what they cover.

I have dealt with AHS on several small claims and always thought they treated me fairly. That was until I had an issue with my HVAC unit. They sent someone out to check the unit, the technician said it was improperly installed which caused water to drip into the heat exchanger damaging the unit. He said the replacement was not covered under my policy but I could buy a new unit from him for $6,000. The way he described the improper installation would mean that water would have to run uphill into the heat exchanger. I don't know much about HVAC units but I know water, much like poop, will not run uphill. I got a call from AHS informing me my claim was denied due to improper installation.
I called and asked for a second opinion and explained why I thought the first tech was wrong. I called back a few days later to confirm the second opinion and was informed my claim was denied for "not normal wear and tear." Clearly this was a change from the original denial. I was also informed if the second opinion said the same as the first, I would have to pay for that service call too. The bad faith is evident. I cancelled the 2nd opinion, hired someone to replace my HVAC unit at nearly half the price of the quote from the AHS tech and filed a complaint with the BBB. After several months, AHS has offered to pay about a third of the cost to replace the unit.

They were very prompt in getting somebody out there and like Sears, don't have a contractor here in the area. They would have to drive an hour. So I suggested maybe they'd give me somebody else because of that and they were able to do that. They were able to get me a local person so that I didn't have to wait because it was going to be a week before that person could get here. It was my washer. They've been FANTASTIC.

We had a billing issue that they called recently, and it's cleared up now. They kept calling saying that a year ago, we'd missed a payment, and we've always been on automatic deduction. We tried to resolve that, and they were going to have to bill our trust fund, and make excuses as to why they waited that long for the bill. They must have decided that they were going to try at their own will. It was a big mess but we got it straightened out and I finally asked to talk to the manager. They were calling like a credit collector. That was very irritating, but that's the only negative thing that we've had.

I've been nothing but pleased with them. My only caveat was when the air conditioner was failing, it took them coming back 10 times last summer. I had one person come out here for a leak that kept coming in to my living room. Five times they had a plumber out there and I kept telling him it wasn't the toilet and each time, they wanted to charge me a service charge to come out there. What happens is it would get fixed but then over time, pressure would build up in the pipe and it would start leaking again and they would want to charge me the $75 because it had gone past the 30 days.
I'm very frustrated with their lack of customer service. I have had a hole in my ceiling now for eight or nine days and they have not even contacted me about sending somebody to repair it. They promised me a courtesy card for the co-pays because I had already paid two co-pays. And the last leak that I had, when I called they told me they weren't even going to dispatch anybody because I have a past due balance of $75 which was the fee that they were sending me the card. They never sent me the card. I called them and a woman said she would send it and I have yet to see the card. I’m not paying the $75. So it is not a real good experience. They sent a technician a few days later, but he had to come twice because he could not figure out what was wrong with the refrigerator, nothing was done. Then last Thursday 1/2/14, another technician was sent, and he was not up to date on the situation. As of today, I haven’t received a status on my situation from American Home Shield or the technicians. Every time I have called American Home Shield, they do not know anything about it. About 7 months ago I had this same problem, and I waited three weeks for them to fix it, but this time it has been worse.

I purchased home warranty from AHS in 2013. I was very specific in what would be covered due to a unique feature of our home. They assured me no problem.... Here we are 8 months later. What a turn around. They could not even find a service professional for my repair. It took me all of 5 minutes to locate local professional. They first denied claim on one paragraph of contract that had nothing to do with the problem. I call to complain. On December 26 I spoke with them and was assured I would be reimbursed for repair. Today I receive another letter claiming another paragraph allows them to not honor claim. Neither paragraph has anything to do with the claim.
I had read horror stories of AHS service and claims and thought people were overreacting. I NOW UNDERSTAND! I would NEVER recommend AHS for multiple reasons from the attitude of their personnel to mostly their lack of commitment to their contract. Typical bait and switch. RUN, don't walk away from AHS.

I didn't know of any other home warranty provider and also, one of my friends had had it before. So that's why I went with them. Supposedly, the plan that I have, everything is covered. Ever since I went with them, I have never had a problem. Whenever I call, they call me back in less than a week and set up an appointment. Now, this last time, it took about a month to get my water heater. What made it so long was because the date they had set the appointment to check the water heater, my daughter who is a diabetic had an appointment at the clinic. And I didn't want to miss that appointment. I wanted to go with her to that doctor's appointment.
So I did call them and told them what was going on. I never got a call back. I called them again and it took about another week for them to come check it out and they said it needed a part. The Thanksgiving holidays were in between, then they came back and said it was the water heater that had to be replaced. I don't know if it had to do with me missing that appointment but it took a while. That's the only time I had problems. I would still recommend them, there is no doubt about that. It doesn't even take a week and they'll call me right back to set up an appointment for whatever. I'm very pleased with American Home Shield.

We've had American Home Shield for three to four years now. We have the basic plan for one home and the preventative service plan for the air conditioner and heating. We've had good results and people coming out and fixing what we need fixed. It's fantastic and outstanding! Their customer service is very good. Every time I call in a problem, they give me immediate response 24/7 and there's always somebody to call me back the next morning just to let me know or I'll get an email from them to let me know that they've got a contractor that will contact me. It's great service with the contractors that are around this area, no complaints so far. I try to recommend them any chance I get.

Everything has been great so far with American Home Shield, but when you had to order a part and the part is not something that's in stock for the service technician to get his hands on, you have to go through them. They have to order the part and say the service technician has the part or can get it; they don't want them to do that with the technician. They want to get the part themselves so it may take another week and a half longer, where the service tech can get the part quicker.
Like I've had a refrigerator that I just got fixed. It's been a month and a half that I have not had a working refrigerator because a part was ordered and then when the part came, American Home Shield shipped the wrong part. So then we had to order another part and it took another a week and a half and then that part came in and it wasn't the part that they ordered. Then a thermostat had to be ordered and then it took another week and a half for that to come in. They want the service tech to go through them to get the part when he has access to get it locally or may even have the part himself in his own possession.

I have problems with a septic system, and that was covered, but only under my first year. They didn't tell me about that when I called, so they sent a plumber out, versus me finding out through the plumber, that the septic wasn't covered. So I had to call them back. Overall, it's been a pretty good experience.

American Home Shield is okay. I had them a long time ago and they weren't very good. And then I tried them again and now they're much better than they were before. There was only one thing they didn't do. I ordered the furnace preventative maintenance contract for $150, and the guy that came out, is a different plan, American Home Shield inspections when they inspect your furnace for the $150 you pay upfront. He marked two things that were wrong. And then the guy that came out to fix it said, "Oh, nothing's wrong." So I called American Home Shield and nothing was done about it. They never did anything. They just said, "Well, call back." So there is like a disconnect between this preventative maintenance and the other one there. It's kind of a weird thing. I never did follow up. They said, "Well, you call over there." And I said, "Well, the man that came out was a licensed guy. We paid him $75." Then the guy that came out said the other guy was crazy. And I said, "Why did he mark it down?" Because they're independent companies. I guess that's the way American Home Shield was working. So that was the only problem I've had so far.

My experience with American Home Shield is good, but there is one thing that is frustrating for me that I'm not sure if there's a way to fix it. One time I had something wrong with my air conditioning unit. It wouldn't happen all the time so I called American Home Shield. They set up a guy that can do it. He came and did a maintenance checkup and he said everything was running fine. I told him about the problem, but he told me there is no way to see. I said, "Well what happens if it happens again? Do I have to pay another service charge?" And they say I have to talk to American Home Shield. The next day it happened and I had to call them up and had to pay another service fee and it's not my fault. Other than this I had called for a timing issue which worked out fine.

American Home Shield was recommended by the realtor when I bought a condo. I'm not sure which plan I got, but it pretty much covers everything in the condo itself. Whenever we've had an issue, they pretty much have come out there. I had an issue once about two years ago where they sent the wrong type of vendor out there and the issue didn't get addressed until this year because I was not aware of it. But besides that, it's been good. It's been worth the money that I've invested in it.

It is frustrating. The three times that I've had to call them for issues, I've waited on hold anywhere from 40 to 50 minutes before someone picks up the phone which is ridiculous, especially when I'm at work. And the other thing is my heat had gone out. It was winter and it was quite cold. I didn't hear back for two to three days. So finally, I called the carrier, the vendor, directly. I said, "Why haven't you reached out to me?" This was at 8:00 in the morning and she said, "It's funny you're calling. I just got the email from American Home Shield about 15 minutes ago." So it took them three days to reach out to the vendor to tell them to come out and I had no heat. So I have a problem with that.
The fact that I have them and that I only had to pay $75 for someone to come out, it was three times because our furnace went out within the same month, that's awesome. I wouldn't trade that for anything. But their customer service... their responsiveness is awful. Maybe everybody's furnace was going out that month and they were just overwhelmed with calls or maybe somebody quit. You never know why service levels go down. But when I'm sitting at work and I have to be on hold for 45 minutes, 50 minutes just to get a person to talk to... that's frustrating. I will say the vendor that they had come over have been wonderful. I have no problem with that at all. They've been great.

American Home Shield is very efficient. One of our friends has had them for about three or four years and she was very satisfied with them. She recommended us to them. We pay around $53 for the plan we took, and so far, it has covered just about everything. We've used them five or six different times and every time, we've had nothing but positive results. There was one time when the technician that they sent out said he could not really handle the problem we had. So I figured, "This is going to be a major problem for us." Because I travel quite a bit and my wife works a lot, nobody was going to be in the house. Also, this particular technician wanted me to be very specific, like give him the technical term for what he was fixing, like our shower or something. In this household, we'll be lucky if we know the difference between a hammer and a hacksaw. So we had to go back and forth and I wouldn't consider that negative because we've been highly satisfied with the service we've gotten.
