Our garbage disposer had one of its blades break off and it wouldn't work. We were expecting company in two days and I was concerned how I would function with the disposer. I made the call to AHS for service. The service agency called and came out the next day. The disposer was replaced with a new one.

Recently, I had an experience where the ventilation system's blower motor started making a very loud noise; so, I called AHS and they sent a tech who came out checked the problem and determined that the motor and the wheel needed to be replaced. He said he would call AHS and advice them of his determination. A few hours later, AHS called me and told me that the tech had determined the problem was caused because the wheel had dirt and had caused the wheel to malfunction. AHS immediately said the repair was not covered because I had not performed the required maintenance by not cleaning the dirt off the wheel.
I told them that I have the maintenance agreement with them and that they had sent out a tech from a different company to do the maintenance check and that he found it all in good condition. AHS checked their records and found that I was right; so, they said they would send out this same tech to check the problem and he found that the wheel possibly had a worn out bearing and that the dirt was not significant to cause any problem. He replaced the motor and wheel and I never heard from AHS. All this could have been avoided if AHS had bothered to check their records to see the history on the unit, but like many, they look for a little opportunity to get out of paying for something.

Extremely impressed with how quickly AHS responded to (and resolved) this complaint. The AHS Customer Relations Representative contacted me right away and provided a more than fair resolution. I feel much better about how AHS responds to their customers. Well done AHS- I appreciate the fast response!

We are now on day 11 with no hot water (19 degrees outside btw) and no contact from the plumber or AHS (although I have requested a supervisor to call me twice). The service is awful. The lack of urgency is deplorable. AHS should be ashamed of how this has been handled. To be fair, until this last "incident" with ADVANTAGE AIR SERVICES INCORPORATED we were completely satisfied with AHS but the fact that AHS would contract this type of horrible/unresponsive company has lead us to consider other warranty companies and we will be switching as soon as possible.
We have since hired our own plumber (at our own expense) as we could no longer tolerate living in these conditions. AHS is aware of the issue - and still no follow-up. The lack of caring about our well being and the lack of respect for our home is more than evident and I no longer feel comfortable doing business with AHS or any of their contractors. A new water heater should have been installed based on the fact that no part was available, but we were told we had no option but to work with the assigned plumber and had to wait for the part to become available...as of today still no contact from AHS or the plumber. AHS dropped the ball on this and all conversations (except one with Jessica) were rude and abrasive. The conversations with ADVANTAGE AIR SERVICES INCORPORATED were even worse. So disappointed in the service (or lack thereof). AHS has done a great job of proving to me that their customers are of no value to them. Believe me - I now understand fully.

I had a really bad experience when the A/C unit on my home was replaced. If you look at my file it will show that it was incorrectly installed TWICE, it was not sealed correctly and when it rained I had a mess in the master bedroom; all the dry wall needed to be replaced, what a mess. I don't feel you research the companies well. My recent experience with Ideal appliance repair was also not good - they canceled last min. And did not arrive when they were supposed to be there.

Our old dryer is more than 20 years old, and has held up pretty well over the years. More than one repairman has told us to keep it as long as possible, since they don't make them like this anymore! Recently, I was on my computer, clothes drying in the laundry room nearby. All of a sudden, a big bang sounded, and the dryer stopped working. The clothes were almost dry, but I knew the dryer wouldn't finish. I surmised that a belt had broken.
I called American Home Shield (AHS), and they immediately chose a repair business for us. However, this particular business had a wait time to come out and fix the dryer. So I called AHS again, and they quickly chose another business to come out and address the problem. The repair people did their job in a timely manner even though they had to order a new belt (I was right!). So now our old, reliable Whirlpool dryer is tip top, and as usual, I am thoroughly pleased with our association with American Home Shield.

The AHS gentleman came into our house, went to the basement where the heater was located. He checked the water and its location, as well as, other parts which had grown crystals over the pipes. He told us we needed a new heater. He was able to get the heater, install it and have it running 4 hours after his arrival. He was even by himself, with no help.

I requested service repair several times, and was eventually told that the outside faucet was not covered by AMS. After reviewing my policy, I noticed that it was covered. I spoke with an agent that said it was covered in one section of the policy, but it really wasn't. Which doesn't make any sense to me? The service guy took apart my outside faucet and kept the parts. And now I have to call someone outside of AHS which will cost me substantially.

The amount of times I have used the services of AHS are too numerous to mention. Each time I have had the needed items repaired quickly so my family's lives are not overly disrupted. Once, my A/C went out during the worst of the summer heat in Louisiana and my 85 year old mother-in-law was living with us. My filter motor was failing when I contacted AHS. The repair company responded quickly and determined the motor had a bad bearing. Also, 2 of the shutoff valves were leaking. This occurred over the Christmas holidays which lengthened the time required to obtain parts from the warehouse. In the meantime the motor quit working. The weather was getting cold and I was concerned about water freezing in the filter system. The parts finally arrived and the plumbing company got the system working. The temperature dropped to 12 degrees that night. Whew!

We recommend AHS because of several reasons. To begin the customer service in my opinion is professional, always calm and helpful. One can tell that the training reflects a high level of caring from management. It comes from the top down and it shows. Secondly, the vendors they send are also experienced and professional, that is in our area of NW New Jersey. I have found that the service callers are excellent problem solvers and truly go about trying to analyze the problem. I would recommend purchasing the policy if you are a first time home buyer especially the coverage for pre-existing conditions. Even with a home inspection by the time your purchase is closing, there might be new issues that were undetectable. It's nice to know AHS is there to help. I would also recommend considering this coverage for investment property and owner occupied properties after the first year.

Our water heater recently failed (leaking). When looking at the water heater, we identified that the until still had 6 months left on the tank warranty. Working together, it was easy to work with AHS in getting the unit replaced. There was a labor cost to replace the unit, but the heater itself was covered under warranty. This was a win-win for both AHS and us. AHS didn't have the cost of the new unit and due to our AHS contract, we didn't have to pay the labor.

Well, I pushed the button and, magically, the garage door opened. I started the SUV, backed out of the garage and proceeded on to a restaurant for our "date night dinner". After dinner and an ice cream dessert we headed home. We got to the garage and pushed the button on the opener. Again, magically the garage door opened and I drove in and parked the SUV. The next morning a trip to the grocery store was in order. So, I pushed the button and magically, NOTHING HAPPENED. After several button pushes I kinda' figured out that the magic was gone and I was alone in my garage pondering "oh, what to do." It was then that I recalled that we had an American Home Shield service policy.
One call to AHS and voila, a real person gave us the not to worry command and provided us with the contact information for a repairman. Before long we were in contact with the repairman and soon after that he appeared. We told him the magic had left our garage door opener BUT, he thought he could bring new magic to our lifeless apparatus. Alas, it was not to be. The magic was permanently gone and the only cure was a new apparatus with warranted magic. Within a couple of hours, the repairman was gone and we spent the rest of the day summoning the magic to open the garage door. And, they lived happily ever after.

AHS sent out the LIndsey Company, I paid $100.00 to them as well. They found nothing wrong, no delay in lighting furnace. Lindsey did not investigate further but advised me to call the gas company. Had I done so this family would have been without heat for the entire weekend.
In the interim I was speaking to MJS Mechanical "Matt" who told me I needed to speak to his supervisor that he thought the unit was old, I was playing a game that my ultimate goal was to get a new unit. I have never had a home warranty plan before, this fellow at MJS went on to say that I likely owned numerous properties, he wanted to cut to the chase. I was taken back not understanding why suddenly I had to defend my rep. I had called for the damn heater to be fixed. He directed me to speak to his supervisor & I called the fellow who promptly told me he could not recommend replacement of heater, I was like okay.
I am totally unsure why we are speaking of this in the first place... I wanted it repaired. He went on to tell me MJS Mechanical price to replace unit that he would give me a break. I said NO Thank You. Called back AHS to report my experience hung on for 20 minutes explained several times said Never Never send out MJS again. They ignored me apparently and sent them a work order. I called MJS told them not to go. Called back AHS spoke to a supervisor explained all to her. She told she would be sure an investigation would be done.
Royal Air finally went over and fixed the damn heater. Got ARS over to check out the supposed gas leak ARS found no leaking nothing wrong. Got a bill from AHS for $100.00 for services from MJS Mechanical. Called, held for 30 minutes, explained the issue again and again. Finally got a supervisor on the phone for 2 hrs. the supervisor I spoke to wanted me to pay $50.00. I said NO, I paid MJS Mechanical when they went out. This is a false bill. They never went to my property again. I have been run through the mill here. The record keeping is just terrible. I called and reported my experience and yet here this company is back trying to get more $$ out of me for work they never performed. I have paid out over $300.00 to get the simple repair done... That is my story. Why do you people not listen and document the issues?

This year has been the worst in several for the Atlanta area! I had frozen pipes which were not covered (however I was still charge a $75.00 service fee to find this out). Gas Furnace was not working correctly, another $75.00 service fee, only to be told by the Tech after he had come to my home on three different dates that what needed to be fixed would not be covered and for him and his company to fix it would cost me $500. I in turn had another company come out, (2nd opinion) another service charge would be incurred if they came to same conclusion and found that the first company ordered the wrong part and now has my furnace up and running. In the end of the day I have spent several hours away from work with all the long windows of opportunity for a tech to come out and was almost shafted if I had not asked for a 2nd opinion.

AHS sent out four separate "service" contractors to repair my Viking dishwasher. One repair person showed up twice under two separate companies which was concerning then claimed he was never at the house 2 weeks prior. All the repair companies have told me one thing about the repair needed then told AHS a different story.
The first repair company claimed they had to order a replacement part then changed their story several days later and said it was due to improper installation (the unit is over 5 years old). The second company said there was nothing wrong, the third company said it was a bad control panel and bad water valve then told AHS that they cannot work on the unit. The fourth company which was the same repair guy from the second company called Viking directly and Viking told him the entire electrical needs to be replaced in the unit.
After over a month of this back and forth there has been no resolution. The customer service agent from AHS rarely returns my phone calls and I have now asked to speak with a Manager which I am getting the run around about as well.

I would like to say that once posting, I was promptly contacted by a Customer Service representative from American Home Shield. She was above reproach in every single business dealing. She personally worked with me and my personal heating and cooling contractor to remedy the concerns that were registered. My personal contractor also felt once we landed in her area that we were able to move forward with replacement of the furnace.
We did have some extra leg work to do which we (the contractor and I ) both felt was needed to evaluate what was actually wrong with the furnace like diagnosis and what had become damaged and what kinds of costs were associated with these numerous repairs vs a new one; and our representative assigned to us was most professional in all of her dealings with both of us; she was an excellent resource and guide through this. She was very empathetic at getting things done correctly. My faith in AHS is fully restored. I can give them a full 5 stars now!

We had a pool pump leaking water. We contacted AHS and they sent a person to repair it. The pump was replaced and a few weeks later, our filter started leaking. The pool person that was sent told us that this sometimes happens because when the pressure is restored then other parts fail. So the bottom part of our pool filter was replaced but the technician broke one of the connectors when reinstalling and just used silicon to fix what he had broken. A few weeks later, the replaced pump was leaking again. We called and now the pool place was saying that we ran the pump dry and that is why it was broken. AHS took that position and will now refuses to fix anything. We have been loyal customers for over 11 years and I am shocked that they treat their customers this way. Mind you they did not reduce our annual contract fee. We still were paying the same fee plus the service charge while they did nothing. My home came up with American Home Shield when I purchased it in 2008 and I just extended it. So far it's been pretty good. The only issue that I had this whole time was the plumbing. The provider that they sent was rude. I had a huge tree up front and there were tree roots in my line. So he came, stuck a hammer down the drain and then he pulled it back and then he explained, "You need a new steel pipe out front. It's going to cost $5,500. We can start the work on Tuesday." This was on a Friday and I'm like I don't have $5,500 right now. He then goes, "Fine. I have to pull it back and take pictures and let them know and they're going to refuse your coverage on it" ... His response was just unprofessional in my opinion and I wasn't pleased with that. That's why I got in touch with American Home Shield concerning that.
I also had my dishwasher repaired. The guy was nice and professional. He came when he was supposed to. Although he said he would call before he got here and he called like an hour before and said he'll be there in the next hour or two and he showed up without calling back. He left the old part that he took out of the dishwasher on my kitchen floor so I had to dispose of it. I was just surprised that he left the part here. My family was without heat for four days. I also have minor children in the house and a baby. So I called a local guy to come out and fix it.
The second request was last month, January 2014, for a plumber to check my garbage disposal that was backing up into the other sink. The guy put some ice in the sink, ran the disposal and said nothing was wrong with it. He did nothing more. That was also $100.00. The disposal still backs up into the other sink. I complained to AHS about this and they did nothing to assist me and denied a refund of $100.00 and still expected me to pay for the warranty for last month which I cancelled when they would not send someone out to fix my HVAC. The dishwasher started leaking on 12/23/2013 and American Home Shield was contacted. The repair person American Home Shield sent was from Big Bill's Appliances. They observed the leak and said they had to order parts, which would take 5-7 days as they had to order the parts through American Home Shield. After 2 weeks I called American Home Shield to check on the status. They contacted the repair person and said the parts had not been ordered and it would take another 5-7 days.
On 1/21/2014, the repair person returned and installed the parts. I asked them if they were going to stay through a cycle of the dishwasher to ensure everything was working properly. They said which everything they replaced, it would not leak. On the morning of 1/22/2014, I ran the dishwasher so I could be there to check for leaks and it started to leak again. I called American Home Shield to report the issue and they said they would have to send the repair person back out to verify. I sent the Customer Service rep an email with a photo of the leak on the floor in front of the dishwasher - there was no acknowledgement of the email. The repair person did not return until Friday, 01/24/2014 and did observe the leak They said to let it run and they would return.
After several hours, the repair person had not returned and I called them. The repair person, asked "Didn't American Home Shield call you?" I said no and the repair person said American Home Shield "Authorization Department" was going to replace the dishwasher. The repair person said they asked American Home Shield if she should call me back and was told by American Home Shield that they would contact me directly, which they did not.
I received an email on 1/24/2014 from American Home Shield at Sears.com with a generic service message. I called Sears at the number from the email and they asked if I was having an issue with an appliance. I referred to the email and explained the history and they said they were to come out to provide a "second opinion" on the dishwasher - and they could not come out until Monday 02/10/2014 which was over 2 weeks.
I called American Home Shield on about the issue with Sears and the overall handling on 0/1/28/2014 and asked to speak to a supervisor. After a frustrating discussion with a poor customer service representative, who refused to refer me to a supervisor and wanted to recount the entire history to confirm all of the entries which were already on his screen from the service dispatch record, he finally said since this was pending for longer than 30 days, it would be referred to the Research Department, which was "higher than a supervisor." I was told I would be contacted by a Researcher within 24 hours and provided with the person's name and direct telephone extension. After 24 hours of not being contacted, I called back on 01/29/2014 to see when the Researcher would be calling me. I was told by that customer service person that it's 24-48 hours, rather than 24 hours as I had initially been told.
On 01/30/2014, Michella at extension ** left a voice mail message on that she was the Researcher. I called her back within 10 mins and left her a voice mail message requesting a call back. I called her extension 6 times throughout the rest of the business day (ending at 6:00pm CST) and each time got the message that she was either away from her desk or on another call and to please leave a message - she would call back at her earliest convenience. At 9:15 am CST on 01/31/2014, I called Michella's extension and again received the voice mail message. I left her another message, referencing her call and my previous message, again requesting a call. After trying her extension throughout the day without success, I left another message for Michella at approximately 4:20 pm CST on 01/31/2014 requesting a call back.
I called the main American Home Shield number and waited on hold until a Customer Service person answered and explained the situation and the lack of follow up from the Research Department. The Customer Service person seemed to understand the frustration and, after a few minutes on hold to review all of the notes in her computer, told me she sent an email to both the Researcher and her supervisor about my call. The Customer Service person said that was all they could do, as the Research Department was the highest entity in American Home Shield service. I asked her to send the Research Department supervisor another message with a specific request to call me this evening.
The consequences, in summary, have been the dishwasher covered under the warranty from American Home Shield has been unusable since the leak was discovered and reported to American Home Shield on 12/23/2013. As of 01/31/2014, I cannot obtain a return call from the Research Department at American Home Shield to explain what the status of my service request is, specifically why Sears, as a second repair company, is being sent after 3 visits by the first repair company American Home Shield sent out and why Sears is taking until 02/10/2014 to respond to the tasking on 01/24/2014 from American Home Shield. It seems that American Home Shield does not want to address an appliance covered under their warranty and is making the process exceedingly difficult and time consuming so, I, as the customer, will become frustrated and repair it on my own.

One Friday evening I come home to a busted water heater, called AHS, took 49 minutes to get a rep on the phone, it's now 8 pm. She tells me she is trying to reach a plumber, of course no one is available. My midnight I call back...thing holding...(horrible music) same answer. I called Saturday morning, hold again...this time 37 minutes. Finally, here come the plumber, by now we have had to turn off the water from the main water line, so there's no running water in the house. Plumber states it's going to cost us an out of pocket of $680, because without AHS it's $1200...Oh of course I am not paying that. I asked for CSR to have the Payout dept call me, of course they didn't, even after I called back each day up until Wednesday, but that same Plumber was on his way to my home to repair the water heater on Wednesday, because AHS took the plumber's word over mines and I am the one who pays them every month.
By Thursday, I get a call from the Payout dept saying they can offer me $277 for the water heater and labor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME...that's doesn't even cover the water heater! The CSR states that they only pay $169 for water heaters and $65 for Labor to the plumber, so that's why he's trying to charge me an additional $680, ($80 for a ball valve...really) it's $8 at Home Depot- plus the $75 service fee to tell me what I already knew...I need another water heater. I have had AHS for 9 years and every time it's something...They sent the same company out twice to look at my A/C in the summer and they both said the same thing...but of course they are from the same company. AHS isn't protecting anything but themselves. They are scammers!! I have so many friends tell me this same thing...so this will be my last month with them! If this is all they are going to do for the consumer who pays monthly payments for 9 years and has only made about 4 claims...I'm out! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I have read that other contractors are asked to deny claims.

American Home Shield was excellent these last few times. The only thing that I have problems with them is when it's something where they're going to have to replace something, like my dishwasher. I've had them out twice for the dishwasher, and they keep saying we're using too much soap, or this and that. That dishwasher needs to be replaced. I think they have a problem when they have to replace stuff. But the people that they send out for my garage doors have been excellent. And the people that they sent out for plumbing is excellent. With replacing items, it seems like that they'll try to find any way not to do it before they have to replace it. Otherwise, everything is fine.

I was a subscriber to AHS for services, I had an issue with the air conditioner and duct work in my home. The customer service reps were rude each time I had to call to inform them that their service technician did not show up for the scheduled job, when the techs did show they always made excuses to leave and not return. I and my husband had to take off work many many days because they scheduled the time available to come out convenient to them. When they did not show up, I would lose unpaid time from work and eventually my job. Therefore, because of their negligence, slothfulness and careless actions I lost my job and my home and I talked to several upper management individuals with AHS and none did anything about it. They were as rude as their workers.
I will never endorse a friend to use AHS or anyone. AHS is still my nightmare, I saved lots of money to accrue the home and used pension funds and lost it all because AHS repeatedly failed to show up for scheduled repairs. They would call me at work and say they were on the way to my home and if I'm not there it would be several weeks for them to return or that I must be at my house in a few minutes or I would have to make a new service ticket. And, still they would not show up after I rushed from my job. The first day a tech came out, he was very overweight and rude, he broke the stairs to my attic by stomping heavily on them, you could hear him from the very rear bedroom. I had many unsatisfied issues with AHS, and never got any compensation for losing my job, my house, credit score and the depression I've been in since all this. I paid for the coverage and never got the value or the service.

We've had American Home Shield for about 6 or 7 years. We had coverage for the appliances before but we took it off because we replaced all of them. We still have the HVAC and the plumbing and such on there. This last call we had we woke up one morning and we didn't have any heat. We have my wife’s 94 year old grandmother living with us, and she just got out of the hospital. They subcontract. So when Greenway called, I asked if they could possibly put us at the top of the list. And about a couple of hours later, they come out and fixed it.
I really don’t agree with some of their policies. We had a microwave replaced. It cost me $168 to get that microwave installed. Now, it costs more with installation and all that, but it seemed like I could get that microwave for say $175. They said well they had to pay like three hundred for it. I didn't understand that. That’s just the way insurance is. And we had the A coil a few years ago replaced on our air conditioner. We had to pay $800 on that. I was under the impression that if it didn't work, then it wouldn't cost me anything.
One experience we had with them was on the washing machine, and they had to put a new transmission in. We just had a new tile floor put down in the kitchen/dining room. The guy that come out to put the transmission in took a bolt out or screw, oil run out all over the floor. And they’re not gonna do anything about it. I said, "You need to get somebody out here to clean the oil up." We had to do it. We had to get the oil up. I did complain. They charge you a service fee to come out. I told them I’m certainly not gonna pay no service fee since I had to do all the work. It’s like they dropped the ball on that big time. I just take the good with the bad about them. I’m not completely satisfied with the way they do things. I guess that’s just the way it is.

When I purchased my house I got it with American Home Shield and that was in 2001 and I've had them ever since. It gives you peace of mind that if something big breaks, it gets replaced. They'll fix things and make them work again and if they cannot make them work again, they'll get another one and put it in there. Big things like the air conditioner, the washer and dryer, water heater... anything big that breaks including the garbage disposal. I had the garbage disposal replaced and outside air conditioning unit - outside unit replaced. So I'm happy. I don't mind paying the yearly amount.
I went and got AHS warranty for my dad and they didn't hesitate to give him one. Because he's an elderly person and he's retired, he can't afford to shell out $6,000 when something breaks and this insurance at least gets things fixed for him. It's better to pay the amount that you pay when the vendors come out than to pay the actual amount that they would charge you if you just called them directly.

We own a home here in Vero Beach which was fairly new and as the warranties were wearing out after the first five years. We looked into getting one here. The company we had before, that we had over there, didn't cover this territory. So somehow we got American Home Shield.
We've had American Home Shield for about 3 years and the experience has been very good and I've been pretty happy with the service. But they also are the only ones that I know of that cover pools, and we have a swimming pool. I've had really good luck with them. Sometimes the people that come don't come as quickly as I might like or I can't be there to talk to them. So I have a neighbor or somebody else pay them. He says “I don't need to change the shower head or do anything.” So, I just threw $75 down the drain, because it still works.
And the one before that, I had the toilet downstairs was backing up really bad. The living room and foyer were flooded. I called them and two days later, they got me someone. He said that the problem was outside and that I would have to pay him $350 for him to put a camera down there so he could look to see whether everything was broken. I called a friend, and the friend came and looked with his own equipment. He looked and there was nothing wrong with it. There was some type of obstruction, but it was minimal. I called the city and they came and took care of it. That was another $75, plus the time wasted and the damage. So, I was disappointed those two times.

When I first purchased my home, they already had a home warranty because of the age of the home, and I continued it. I switched to American Home Shield because the home warranty protection that they had on the home required initial payment of 50% down and 50% within a given period of time. American Home Shield warranty allowed me to pay per month, and that was better for me.
I've had 90% good experience with AHS. I've called, I've got good service. I did have one emergency and with that I was allowed to call with my furnace. It was over New Year's Eve, New Year's holiday. And they couldn't get anyone to come out to give me service, so I called back within the period of time. I was allowed to call the technician that takes care of my furnace on an annual basis, and that worked out fine.
The bad experience that I had was with the washing machine. The guy that came out to do the repair took three weeks to get the part, fairly new washing machine, it's a Kenmore. And he was an older gentleman, and I don't think he knew what he was doing. And as a result of that, I don't think he regulated the machine back to the way it was when I initial purchased it. Because my water now still flows to the very top of the machine, and basically it was set to regulate according to the amount of clothes that you put in there. So, that experience is still going on. But basically, overall I've had good experience. I've had 2 or 3 that I wasn't too happy with.
I would recommend, and I have recommended American Home Shield.

I am at my wits end dealing with the customer service department at AHS. I have been experiencing water issues at my home and it remains unresolved. AHS has sent two different plumbers to the house, both of which have stated that the water heater needs to be replaced. Here is where the problem begins.
We would like to utilize the first plumber to handle the replacement. The second plumber that was sent for the second opinion was not professional and openly talked about "jerry rigging" the installation of the new water heater. When AHS called me to go over the new water heater, I expressed my concerns, which were not heard and glossed over. I was telling their employees about a questionable contractor, but no one listened to that and only wanted to get off the phone. I asked for the first plumber to be authorized since they had the same recommendation. Their customer service reps only response is "We cannot do that per our policy." Despite repeated requests no one has been able to point me to the language in my policy that states one contractor cannot be authorized by AHS. It seems like a simple enough request since both contractors are with AHS and both had the same recommendation. By the way, the initial plumber's recommendation was to replace the water heater but AHS would not authorize until a third service call was made.
Additionally, someone was supposed to call me about a Cash Out option, which I do not prefer, but I will not allow the second plumber back in MY HOME. To date no one has called me on that. When I called for a status today, after receiving my fourth call this week from their IVR confirming everything is complete, which obviously it is not, the customer service rep could not estimate when I would hear from someone. I asked her to put me on hold and call that department. She stated she does not have that number and could not put my hold. Neither of which I believed and I expressed the same to her. Exasperated, I asked for her manager and she stated it is against their policy to transfer customers to the manager. I explained that I don't care about their policy, that I am taking showers at a gym due to water pressure and this has gone on long enough. She steadfastly refused to transfer and after 6 minutes I told her she would have to hang up on me unless she transferred me. She then placed me on hold and came back and transferred me, and wouldn't you know it...straight to voicemail.
My requests do not seem out of line. I have spoken to the first plumber personally since their customer service reps told me they do not do three way calls and they will take the job. I find it hard to believe that the phones do not have three-way call technology, but rather another "policy" designed to frustrate and not help the customer.
At the end of the day, their company sells a product that people hope they will never have to use. When we do use it, a little common sense and courtesy would be appreciated.

The first time the refrigerator was delivered, it was damaged. So, they took the original refrigerator that I purchased when I had my home built and they also took back the one that they sent to me.
They sent a second refrigerator and it was damaged as well. So, the people that inspected it took it back to the warehouse. The third incident, they sent out two refrigerators. When the people outside inspected one of the refrigerators, they deemed it to be bad. But they deemed this other to be good, so they installed it and I accepted it. But when the one was sent back, they told me that GE said there's a restocking fee. And I said I don't understand why I have to pay a restocking fee for something that someone else called bad because GE said it was good. And I said that I don't think it's fair that I should pay a restocking fee. So then what they decided to do was they said they would pay half and I would pay half. And I still didn't find it fair that I had to pay any portion of it.
