    We filed our request over 2 weeks ago to fix garage disposal and one plumber came over 2 weeks ago today couldn't fix said his boss would come out. We have called Home Shield at least 3-4 times on this situation. Yesterday the plumber was suppose to show between 12-4 so I stayed home and my husband took off work early to be here and of course no show or call, so my husband called HS told the plumber to call us which he did. Said he would come but it would be after hours, no call or show. We waited till 8:00 pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not happy.

    I have been very impressed with the level of professionalism and customer care demonstrated by Home Shiled. The concept was introduced to my wife and I just a few months ago. We signed up and have been so fortunate that when our AC motor went out all we had to do was call and it was done. Not long after that our clothes washer will not spin.     When we bought our house a few years ago, AHS was included in the purchase. In that first year, we had a problem with the plumbing, and a couple of other issues, all of which were fully covered by AHS. Each year since then we have purchased the plan, and it has been worth the money. Our dryer has been repaired, drains unclogged, microwave and garage door opener replaced.... The customer service team is always very courteous, once you get through to them, the only issue sometimes is navigating through the messages to get to the right place. The service technicians always respond promptly. In normal circumstances they are there within 48 hours - most often 24. In the case of an emergency they are most often there the same day. For the cost and all that is covered, I cannot recommend AHS highly enough.

    I have had two incidents I have called in over the last four months, including having had our heater stop working in January in Seattle and having our kitchen faucet start leaking under the sink. Both vendors not only went the extra mile but the heating vendor exceeded the response time due to health concerns we had in our house during a very cold winter month with no other heat source in our home.     Our water heater sprung a leak over the weekend. I called AHS on Saturday morning and using the automated phone system, accidentally scheduled for the wrong appliance. At the end of the call, I said Customer Service, and reached a very forgiving customer service rep. She canceled the wrong appt and then helped notify the correct company about our problem. After verifying the contact information for the water heater company, she made sure there were no additional problems she could help resolve.

    I waited an hour and then called the water heater company directly, because of the concerns I had about a malfunctioning gas water heater. Even though the company was swamped for the weekend, and advised the soonest they could arrive would be Tuesday, they patiently answered all of my questions regarding the leak and helped suggest precautions to take to assure operability.

    The company arrived early, quickly identified the problem, and then immediately fixed the issue. While we were hoping it would be something simple (adjusting a loose bolt) it turns out the entire water heater had to be replaced. The fix was performed in a timely manner, the problem was entirely fixed, and we are more than grateful that instead of shelling out mega bucks for a new gas water heater, we only pay the monthly fee for insurance and a flat fee for the service call. This one call alone was worth the whole year's worth of monthly insurance payments, and then some. Thank you AHS, and the water heater company!!

    I called 2/14 in the evening about 1900 hrs that my furnace was not working and did the thing with the computer. About 2 hours later I called and talked to a rep and she told me that she would get on and get someone but, she said it is the weekend. The next morning at 0900, I called again and talked to another rep and she said she would go down the list and try to get someone. In about 30 minutes, she had a repairman on the way.     We have had AHS coverage for more years that I can recall but at least 15. We have found it a godsend on multiple occasions for at least 1 dishwasher, 3 air conditioners, 1 (maybe 2?) furnaces, a burst water pipe, and several swimming pool pumps. Service as always been good. But mostly is the sense of security we get by always knowing AHS is there when we need them and we only have one place to call. We also have two refrigerators purchased before we had AHS; one is 30 years old and one is about 20 years old. I sometimes think having AHS has made them last this long!

    Please do not use Grace Plumbing in Chandler, AZ. They never show up on time. The first time was scheduled from 2pm to 6pm. They called at 8:30 pm. He did not bring a disposal. Had to reschedule. Next time 1pm to 3pm. Did not call. Finally called at 9:30pm. I refused to let them come. It would have taken an hour to get here. He would have been here past midnight. Next time called at 7:30 pm on a Sat. night. We refused. He came Sunday morning at 9:30am. He installed the disposal. After he was gone we ran the dishwasher. We noticed that the dishwasher wasn't draining. We looked on the internet to see what the problem could be. It said that if you got a new disposal that the knockout cap wasn't removed. That was correct.

    We removed the drainage hose hooked up to the disposal and saw the cap still in place. I couldn't remove it. So I called Grace Plumbing again. They did not try to be too accommodating. Again I agreed to after 6pm on a Monday so they could correct their mistake. They called at 10:20 Monday night. He got here at 11:00pm to correct a simple mistake made by rookies. The installer was not a rookie and the guy who fixed the mistake was not happy to come all the way out here for a 5 minute fix. I was not happy either but I wanted to done with them. This was such a bad experience that I seriously am considering canceling my AHS policy.

    I had a drain that was running slow. The person that showed up from Pipe Down Services was extremely nice, but it made me mad when he explained that they will not get on the roof to unclog drain. This should be in BOLD on the contract. Someone should have said something when I called in. They had my policy number and could have helped me to understand this. I had to pay my $75.00 co-pay and he did absolutely NOTHING. I think this is very unfair. Either the person that helped to open the ticket or Pipe Down Services should have said something. This would have saved me time and money and the company time.

    Over a month ago I called for repair of leaking dishwasher... had to order and wait for parts.. Second repairman came and didn't use parts... Installed new motor and ordered more parts.... Was told to use dishwasher, but it may still leak. Now soap dish is frozen and washer makes a "rattle" and dishes are still not getting clean on one side, which were my original complaints!!!!!     1/8/14 Called in the problem to AHS. 1/16/14 Dishwasher serviced by Sears (either myself or my fiance took off work to be home). 1/23/14 After researching parts, AHS ordered a new dishwasher and I paid $124 for the upgrade difference. 1/31/14 Dishwasher delivered (either myself or my fiance took off work to be home). Was told previously it was scheduled for the install on this same date as well (via Sears install), but Sears never showed up. Spent 3 hours on the phone between Sears and AHS and was told it would be another week before it could be installed.

    2/6/14 New install date (either myself or my fiance took off work to be home). Was told it would be Sears installing. They never showed up again! So the new dishwasher remained in a box in the center of my kitchen. After multiple calls to AHS and Sears, incredibly I was told that Sears does not and has not ever done dishwasher installs for AHS. 2/14/14 New install date (either myself or my fiance took off work to be home), was told it would be T & T APPLIANCE SERVICES installing now. Although both AHS and T&T confirmed the appointment, no one ever showed up! Was given yet another install date of 2/17/14. Fed up with the delays, a big box in the center of my kitchen for over 2 weeks, broken dishwasher for over month and a half, I finally just installed the new dishwasher myself!

    After being a customer of AHS for several years, I have come to realize that they are beyond incompetent. And if they can't handle a simple dishwasher repair/replacement, then how can I expect or trust that they can take care of other repairs for me without excessive frustration on my part? I think Consumer Reports magazine hits the nail on the head in their February 2014 issue (page 19) where they say Warranties don't improve satisfaction and People who had a service contract or an extended warranty weren't any happier with their repairs. They actually were more likely to have had repairs done incorrectly the first time around and waited at least two weeks for the repair than people who didn't have those contracts. This has definitely been my experience!

    My grandson bought a house and bought American Home Warranty. It was actually through a realtor and through my daughter. They had bought a house years and years ago. I've had the warranty for a year and the experience has been really great. I had a compressor go out on a refrigerator and had some problems with that. The guy that came out was just super good and he kept telling them that the refrigerator was old and that if they put a compressor in it, it might not work because of the gases or something.

    So then, he put it on and it just clogged up everything and they had to end up getting me a new refrigerator. The only thing is I have got to get back with them because they didn't send my ice maker. Then I had a washer problem. They sent him out and he fixed that.     I have been a member of AHS for many, many years and the price continues to rise big time; also the fee for the visit rises. Light bulbs (some don't even look like light bulbs in a very high ceiling) seems to be something that needs to be covered under the policy. Seniors can't get up there to even see what the bulb looks like let alone have replacements on hand. Thus it is to me a bit expensive to pay someone $75 to come and change the bulbs and pay them to get new bulbs as well. I feel that the policy should cover the cost of the bulbs. You let it happen this time, but with warning. I suggest that a policy change be made.

    So far we have had 3 electricians sent to our home to fix the same issue and it is still unresolved after 14 months. I have spent endless hours on hold with AHS waiting for a CSR. When they finally answer they are always polite and intent on helping me solve the problem, yet it never gets solved. I am now receiving unwarranted bills which I also cannot get resolved. A couple of times we've started with somebody, and then by the time they got parts ordered, we're on hold with you and we had to change and we waited a long time for parts. And by the time it came in, they couldn't pick them. So we went out with heat for weeks and weeks, and that was pretty concerning. It seems like if you start with somebody, you should be able to finish, but I only understand if you're not getting what you need from them, you need to change. But it really makes it awkward when you change right in the middle of what a customer is doing and have to start over. So we had to set up for all new appointments and then wait.     I'm going on 4 weeks waiting for my washing machine to be repaired. The local service company has made 4 trips to my house on my work time and replaced 2 different parts with no success.     A lovely single mom purchased a home in N Chesterfield for she and her daughter. This was a huge step as she had been renting for several years as the result of a tragic house fire that took her mother and her son's life.     In our Manufactured home we recently had a propane leak that literally blew off the door to our hot water compartment.     It must be obvious that AHS do not read the service comment surveys that they send out asking the customer to rate the servicer's performance. I say that because I had 3 service tickets that needed some maintenance. Only one of the tickets actually was completed with very satisfied results.     Recently during a real cold spell in the NE I found that my heat was not coming on. I have gas furnace heated hot water 5 zone (4 BR house). I contacted AHS by telephone because I did not have computer access. This was on a Saturday. I had a response from AHS within 24 hours. I called on a Sunday to confirm the request and they had already contacted the service representative who had already made contact with me and sent a representative out to check my house temperature. He followed up himself and came to the house on Monday and repaired the portion of the furnace that failed. Excellent response.

    I have had AHS for 7 yrs since my husband's death. I have had several issues come up within my house (water heater, garage door opener, cook top, washing machine, wall oven, room thermostat).     I rate AHS a 5 star for their professionalism, service is fast, I can speak to real person, who listens, and helps solve my concerns. On the other hand, when my hot water heater was replaced, Jan 3,14, within a week I had to have another service request, and the plumber told me that the plumber who had replaced the HWH caused my second plumbing problem, by not properly turning the water on properly, too much pressure causing a leak in the wall, which luckily only leaked when I used shower. The 2nd plumber left me with a leaky faucet, after he mentioned to me that his company did not provide him with parts, therefore, I have not called for a 3rd service request, due to not being able to afford $75.00 x 3 +$225.00 plus $43.00 1 payment for AHS warranty, all in January 2014. My opinion is that the 2nd plumber could have fixed my leaky faucet, and charged me for the part. I think AHS is not really aware of these situations, and I feel I got 2 lemons, I guess my luck!??.... I am going to keep my Home Warranty, is a peace of mind, and is worth having it for the big stuff. And AHS did help me address one concern with plumber who replaced my HWH.

    I have had American Home Shield for my house for the last 4 years. They have replaced my garbage disposal, they have fix my air conditioner to have fixed my furnace, they have fixed my dishwasher. The only problem I have ever had has been with the repair of my dishwasher. The repair person had a difficult time getting the correct part in. Most of my repairs are seeing and completed within 24 hours. I always receive a phone call from the service technician before he comes to my house. They show up when they say they will and they leave my home with all their trash and debris and I don't have to clean up after them.     My heat pump was making big loud noise out side unit was.. Decided to call AHS .. But bit skeptical because prior two times called for my dryer to fixed but both time they failed and ended up buying new one .. Anyway called Sunday and tech came out Tuesday .. He checked the inside and outside and told me two things, something wrong with my compressor and needed to replace and temp high limit inside unit is bad and needs to be replaced .. He checked my policy and told me I have 3x3 plan which covers pretty much anything but the freon gas which insurance pays only $10 per pound and I have to pay rest which was $40 .. So he told me I have to pay about $320 and that's it. I was like. Ok. Gave him the check for deductible and told me someone will call me from AHS..

    Got call in two days .. Told me they can only cover the parts and labor for inside only because some parts are missing from my outside unit .. I'm like what.!?!?!? Missing what part??? And told me to talk to technician!!! Called the tech many times, no answer.. Called the company .. Told me the unit # and compressor # don't match. What they are saying is my original parts are missing?!?! The house was build at 95... I bought the house at 02 and never had outside unit fixed .. Except had new blower put in. The tech never discussed this issue with me or he had any idea .. If you are technician, wouldn't you supposed to to know its a original parts or not and if the part that heat up the compressor in case it frozen is missing, why couldn't he told me .. I really think they are playing games with me.. To me, everything in the unit seem to be all attached. I will never use this insurance again..

Was contacted very quickly by a Resolution team member, authorization was granted to reimburse my entire out of pocket expense and I have received a check.

    Called for repair on a Friday, no contact from contractor until *I* called them on the following Monday afternoon. Contractors did not make appointment time. Contractor tracked sewage thru house instead of using back entrance (children play on these floors). Contractors wore gloves to keep sewage off their hands but kept gloves on while handling door knobs. Blockage was 'semi' cleared, said they could do no more unless a complete blockage reappeared. Contractor left gates to back yard open twice, pets had to be hunted down in 10 degree weather. Blockage reappeared, after contacting AHS, took two more days of myself contacting contractor to get them on the job. Contractors unable to clear line that is less than 100 feet to main sewers. Service persons were more professional during this appointment. Three days now of clogged drains, contractor will not answer phone or return calls, feel that AHS has been 'minimal' in assisting. Phone operators have been less than enthusiastic. Still waiting.

By then I called a repairman who came out and did a temporary fix. When the repairman you sent came out he couldn't find anything wrong. This was my third costly repair in 9 years so I want to replace my AC unit. I asked for a buyout and American Home Shield wouldn't do anything because the AC unit was working, that was because I paid to have it fix!! I was very disappointed & upset!! I have been totally happy with everything else. My stoves have been repaired several times, my toilets have had leaks, my washer was repaired, and they even came out for my fig. No problems with the repairs and follow-up.

    The person the vender sent to fix my furnace appeared incompetent and did not find the problem. When I called their office to complain, they told me to call someone else if I was not satisfied. I then called AHS to report this and NO ONE from AHS has called me back to discuss. Very poor service all around.

    The weather reports said that we would be experiencing the coldest Arctic blast felt in this area in decades. Coming home from a long day at work and finding the house on the cold side, I checked the thermostat. 56 degrees. Something was not right. I headed down the creaky wooden basement steps to face the metal beast. I was met with a quiet smile where usually I see a fire-y grin. I rolled up my sleeves and learned how to restart the furnace and came out victorious - or so I thought. Towards bedtime I noticed that all was not right. The house was cold and the furnace went out again and again and so I put in a request to AHS. We cozied down under a mountain of quilts and awoke the next day to a freezing cold house. I soon received a call that help was on the way and it surely was....

    These two nice fellas brought us a new motor for our furnace AND warm apple fritters. Being a single mom is sometimes a challenge but with AHS - it is comforting to know that help is just a few keystrokes away.

    We have had American Home Shield for 14 years. In that time, I can recall only twice they have not paid on a claim. The first time the AC was not cooling. The technician said the coils were clogged because we had not cleaned them as we should have. We have kept them clean since that. The other time, the faucet in the master bathroom shower malfunctioned. The plumber said the water pressure was too high. But, still he took the old faucet off and capped the pipes. Then all we had to do was put the new faucet on. American Home Shield has replaced our central air conditioner, repaired the furnace, refrigerator, washer and dryer. There have been times we would have been in a real financial bind without them.

    I have had my furnace worked on in January of 2014 for wear and tear issues, and thought it would be the end of the problem. However in February12th, 2014 I came home to a cold house 52 degrees and my furnace was off! I also smelled what seemed to be a hot melting smell from the vents. I called AHS and told them the issue I was having, they sent the same repair man ( which is a honest person and very caring). He found not only the issue, but my blower motor was nearly to go out as well as my secondary heating unit. The unit is 17 yrs. old and to repair is just a temporary fix that would last a while?? So he worked with AHS to nearly approve half the cost to replace the furnace and we will pay the rest. This will be a better and more efficient unit than what we have now! So I have to say thank you AHS for taking care of us again and I would recommend this Warranty Service to anyone who owns a home.
