The representative was very courteous and professional. He told me exactly what was wrong and went from there and no problems at all. My garage door works great. And the contractors were very professional as well.

I would recommend American Home Shield. I've not had any problems with them at all, none whatsoever. Every time I needed something fixed, they were right on the spot, and when I needed anything, I just put in my request online.

The ceiling fan in the kitchen had no power even though the switch was on so there was no light and no fan. When you turn on the light or the fan, nothing happens. Electricity did not get to the fan motor. I put in a claim with American Home Shield by email. The contractor found the problem and had to order a ring that goes around the fan motor. He said he had to come back. They kept sending him the wrong part. So when he came back in two weeks, he brought a whole new fan. A brand-new fan gets another 10 years or $100,000, whatever comes first. I'd recommend them.

We've been with American Home Shield for over nine years. Submitting the claim wasn't the problem. The problem we had was their follow-up. I have a problem with the people that came in to do the work. They did something and we were without heat for several days. American Home Shield only provides a minimal amount of coverage for heaters or any kind of accommodation for people who are in need of heating or comfort levels to an emergency. That's one of my problems. But I would still recommend AHS to a friend.

Everything was easy, I just set up the appointment with American Home Shield and they came out, fixed it and it was great. It was really professional. Everything was handled very speedy because my heat went out and they were here within a couple of days. I was satisfied.

We've used American Home Shield a couple of times. It was good. The contractors were nice and it went real well. We didn't have any problems.

There were actually two things at once. I did everything online with American Home Shield and didn't even talk to a person. But it all seemed to work better than I expected it to. We had a heating furnace problem and a garage door opener problem. The automated system understood what I was saying and got the right contractors who called me. Then I was dealing with people, the contractors. It was a good experience with both the heating contractor and the garage door opener. It exceeded expectations and they were reliable contractors.

I have no complaints with American Home Shield whatsoever. They're very good. They've been good to us all these years.

The experience with American Home Shield was good. This is the first time we had to - we bought all the stuff and had it done, and then they reimbursed us. So this is a new experience. It was a little bit exasperating, but it worked out fine.

I've been with American Home Shield for almost four years. My experience in submitting a claim to AHS was very easy as normal. It was a very good company. I've never had a complaint.

American Home Shield responded immediately. I had submitted a claim for my duct work in my attic. They sent the same contractor. The first time he came, he did not fix it. He told me it was fixed but it wasn't. I didn't know it until it happened again and when I called back, they told me that it wouldn't be covered under the same call because it had been two days longer than 30 days. They have been prompt and courteous. It's just the contractors they use. I would recommend them to a friend but not the contractor.

American Home Shield was on time and they were good, but except for just one time when it didn't work out right.

Tried for 1.5 hour to access your Appliance Discount site, followed direction and could not access. Why would you all advertise this when it clearly does not work??????? What is the number for Discount Appliance number?

My microwave didn't work. I had a service done last month with American Home Shield and they were good. In submitting a claim with them I usually get a recording and I just submit my request through these automated systems. I don't actually talk to anybody. The contractor that they sent to my house was nice. The only thing was that he had to replace the circuit board and he didn't have it. So I had to wait a week to get my microwave fixed. I don't really blame him. But at the same time, it took a week to get the problem really fixed. The second time they sent somebody up. They got it down and the problem was solved.

I filed a claim to American Home Shield for a heating problem. Submitting the claim was fine. Did a phone call. AHS took care of it right away. No problem. I would recommend AHS to others.

They always get the job done.

Our garbage disposal didn't work. I could never fix it. When the contractor came here, he just turned one button for the garbage disposal and it worked. At the same time, the bath tub was leaky because one small stuff blocked the hole. I asked him how to fix it. It's a very simple fix, only I had no idea about what happened. Very satisfied with American Home Shield.

It was very easy to submit a claim with American Home Shield. It was an issue with the furnace and it was resolved and it's better. The contractor was very professional and courteous.

The AHS contractor who came in for a regular service call on our air conditioning was very good. Had no problems.

I haven't had any problem with American Home Shield at all. They just sent somebody out here this morning for the furnace. They are saying that it has to be replaced. They were professional and courteous.

I had American Home Shield do a maintenance check on my heating and air condition. It went fine. No problem.

American Home Shield has always been good to me as far as submitting any claim that I've had in the past and they're courteous to me also. The only thing is their hold time is expensive a lot of the time whenever I call. The last claim I had, they had an unlicensed plumber go ahead and install my hot water heater. He was professional towards me. I didn't know about the unlicensed part until they called and told me.

I had a contractor from American Home Shield come out for routine maintenance and he found a capacitor or something that was shot on one of the air conditioning units and the other one was about to go. So he just repaired them. We had just bought the house at the end of January and I had him out in the middle of February. He was courteous, showed up on time and did the work quickly. He had to make a return because he didn't have all the parts he needed but he came back as soon as he said he would. Everything was fine. I would recommend American Home Shield.

We've submitted several claims for years with American Home Shield and they do a great job. Whenever I submit my claims, they are very timely, have always been fair and take care of us well. We're in an area where there is zero unemployment and it's hard to get help but the local contractors that they send out do the job well. I will recommend AHS.

I've been with American Home Shield for about 15 years. One time, the lights on the dishwasher were blinking so I called American Home Shield and they gave me a person that would come and fix it but he said to me, "I can get through it with you on the phone," so he did and all of a sudden it started to work again. So he didn't show up that time. But then a week later, the whole thing just didn't even come on. So I called American Home Shield again. The same guy called me. He came out and said it was a heat sensor something that was broken and he replaced it and everything is working. He was really good. He said they're a small company and they're really really excellent!

My tenant's dryer stopped working. The contractor was good, but had a problem, however. American Home Shield has started a new policy in which they only buy parts from themselves. It is their internal system. So they will not buy parts from a supplier who has parts in the community in which they are doing business. It's not the way they were doing it before. The local supplier had the part but American Shield did not have it. And so American Shield called the manufacturer who said it would take two months to make it. And we had to go out and buy a new dryer while we waited for the manufacturer to make a new part and send it to the community in which the property was located. It was a very long process and unfortunate because the part existed in the community. Generally, they're quite good. But this policy is very restricting. And so plan A would be do we have it? If the answer is no, plan B would be to buy it from a local supplier who does have it. But they don't have that plan B in place. I don't know a hundred percent factually that it's their policy. It only seems like 85% because it has happened to me on two of my properties. It appears to me that is what they're doing.

It was a super experience with American Home Shield. I enjoyed it! They did a great job. I had one claim for the heating and one for the garage door. The contractors were very professional and courteous and did a wonderful job. I'm very pleased.

We're realtors and we've been recommending American Home Shield to our clients for almost 20 years probably. They've done a number of repairs. We've got a couple of different rentals. Ordinarily, my wife sets up the appointments and whatnot or she at least calls in to American Home Shield. I do know that trying to navigate even through the push button system, trying to get to a customer service representative is a little bit challenging.

They were very good. We've had American Home Shield for several years now and I really enjoy it. It's so comforting to know that they're always there for you when one of your appliances break down because it's really hard sometimes to get the right people to come out and repair. They saved me some money too. Sears has just come out for the dryer. The repairman was very nice, much nicer than the one we had a long time ago. This guy was very polite, very nice and very explanatory.

I most recently submitted a claim for our leaking disposal with American Home Shield. The reps were always friendly and courteous. The contractor that they sent to our home was great and he went ahead and replaced our disposal. I have always been happy with American Home Shield and have recommended them to people. The only time I've had a problem was when our washer and dryer broke and the service provider they sent out here was not the greatest. They weren't able to fix it and it took them forever to get back to American Home Shield so that they could give me the order to the part. We had a real tough time with that situation. I don't think it was American Home Shield's problem. I think it was a misunderstanding on the part of the providers that were supposed to be doing the job.

I have the GE man out here right now putting in my new refrigerator gasket. He is very professional, very courteous, prompt and right on time. Called me in advance as to when he was going to be out here. Had plenty of time in advance. And when he said the parts were going to be in to come to the house two days ago, waiting on him not a problem. Very satisfied with his work, professional work.

Our experience with American Home Shield has been very satisfactory.

I've used American Home Shield for 10 years. They cover seven houses that I own. I have a claim on the ice machine. Well, it's not over yet. They sent the wrong company, so the experience wasn't very good. The ice production was down. It was so noisy, I couldn't sleep at night. I called to turn in the claim and lady called and I explained the condition on the machine and she refused to fix it. She said that they don't fix noises. And my particular policy on my house is almost $1400 a year because I have a large house and I have a super super warranty. I was so shocked I said, "What do you mean? I'm paying you $1400 a year. My ice machine production is half of what it's supposed to be; it wakes me up at night, rattling and making noises, and you won't fix it." She said, "That's right. We don't fix noises." And I said, "Okay. Well, let me have a supervisor." She said, "Well, I guess we could send somebody out but it's gonna cost you $75." And I said, "Well, certainly I expect that." So they sent somebody from Sears. Sears comes in and says, "We don't work on ice machines. But I still get my $75." So he took my $75 and left. They got another company who called and said that they would be by soon but I hadn't seen them yet.

My heating and ventilation unit stopped heating and I had to get American Home Shield to come out and take a look at it. They were right on time and efficient and courteous. It all went well. And the unit is working perfectly right now.

The evaporator core went on our a/c and Air Zone said that in order for them to fix the problem due to its location, we would have to call an engineer and have the trusses in our house moved. They refused to discuss further. When I call AHS they said I could not get a second opinion but if I did have it repaired by someone else, they would reimburse me $240 for parts, labor and tax. I did call Assured Air and they very willingly repaired the problem but it cost me $2650. I am disgusted with the attitude of Air Zone and how dare they say that I had to move trusses... at what cost? The other company had 2 guys in the attic and took care of the issue in a couple hours. I have otherwise been pleased with AHS and their repairman but this time I am extremely distraught. I pay monthly for coverage and to be treated this way stinks. I have 2 houses insured with you and still we were treated like a "bother" by everyone who spoke with me... AHS and Air Zone. I bought the policy because I cannot afford total repairs and now on my fixed income, with a son in college I have to pay $2650 for what you would have paid $240. Ridiculous. I dare anyone of you to be happy about such treatment and expenses.

I had a burst pipe in one of the walls in the bedroom and I submitted the claim to American Home Shield. It was a very positive experience. They were helpful. It made me glad that I was a member. Even though the plumber had problems finding the leak, he did his best. It was a hard thing.

It's really hard to rate the experience with American Home Shield because when I had my hot water heater fixed, I was so happy with it. And with my dishwater, I was so happy. But my washing machine was an absolute nightmare to the point where I told American Home Shield that their technician was to never be let on my property. I ended up bringing an outside source in to go over what this guy had tried to do to my washing machine. He sabotaged it in trying to get work done on it. And it was a $60 part that turned into over $800.

We've had a claim for our washer and our microwave. About a month ago, the microwave just stopped working and had a burning smell to it. We filed a claim with American Home Shield and it took a day or so before we heard from the company to schedule the appointment. He came out and looked at it and said that he needed to contact American Home Shield to order the part. The contractor was courteous and professional. The microwave is fine now but he's coming out again for the washer. The experience with American Home Shield has been really good.

We're going to keep the American Home Shield plan. We're satisfied with it and have nothing but good experiences with them.

I have been a customer of American Home Shield going on 5 years and they have been very good to me. It has been well worth the cost of the policy. My most recent claim was for the water heater. The contractor was here this morning. He was a very nice young man who checked it out thoroughly.

I would recommend American Home Shield as it is convenient and a good price.

It was cold in the house and so I called American Home Shield the next day. They sent the representative out to fix the air conditioning the next day.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was for the microwave oven around the end of January. It didn't work so I needed a technician to come and take a look at it. The representatives were friendly and courteous and the contractor was great. They did what I needed to have done and they’re reasonably easy to use.

This was my first experience working with American Home Shield. The contractor they sent was a good guy.

We have an American Home Shield policy and had a refrigerator problem. So I’m supposed to call if I have a repair. It really wasn't anything special. The reps were friendly and the contractor they sent did an excellent job.

I recently had my air furnace go out. AHS required a bid from two contractors. Both recommended the furnace be replaced along with the air conditioner due to its 25+ years of age. I had a third contractor come out that recommended the same. AHS agreed to replace the air furnace. In Jan, the temps in VA were in the teens. The AHS approved contractor chosen to perform the work was rude, inflexible and would not estimate a date of repair.

I have a new washer and a new dishwasher. The first contractor sent to install the dishwasher didn't know what they were doing. They said they couldn't close off the water which was a lie. I had to pay a plumber and another $75 because the man that finally brought the dishwasher a week later said that was ridiculous. He could have turned this off. The plumber didn't change anything and just reached in and turned it off. I was really unhappy that the first guy was not capable of doing it. Of course their excuse was, "Well, they're not allowed to use any equipment." I said, "the second guy that came bent down and turned it off. That's no equipment. He didn't change anything." But American Home Shield is doing a real good job. The plumber was great and said sorry that I have to pay for this.

I believe that American Home Shield is a good company. I'm very pleased with it. I've had no problems, except for one time. And that one time, it was resolved after I talked to a supervisor.

We appreciate American Home Shield and we would recommend it. We've been satisfied with this first experience, and the contractor they sent to us was good.

What American Home Shield says and what they do is not the same thing. I'm up for renewal and they want me to pay $750, and they've gone up on their service charge. They are out of the ball park for the cost of their service.

The last time we had a problem, I was a little bit misinformed by the person that answered the phone at American Shield. It probably took a couple of days longer than I would have liked but it was during cold weather and our furnace had died. It took eight days for it to get fixed. However, they had to order a part. I called at about three o'clock Sunday morning which was when it died and was told that somebody would call me within the next few hours. However, that wasn't the case. It was Monday sometime before they called and they didn't come until Tuesday. They ordered the part Tuesday and it came Friday, and they put it in Monday. In the meantime, we lived on heat from a fireplace. This is during a very cold spell. I have no idea who it was that I talked to and she probably misunderstood my question about when they were going to be there, but the problem got solved.

I'm very happy and satisfied with AHS. This is my second year with them. I've had my oil pump, microwave and AC fixed. They're good and I've recommended them to my family members already. The last claim was for my stove. They had to order the parts. The parts only came in yesterday and the technician will be coming tomorrow to install everything.

We filed a claim for our air conditioning. All my husband did was set up the appointment, and the man came out and fixed it. He was nice and I liked him. I haven't had any problems with American Home Shield. They've been very responsive every time we have called. But the man that came out recently, because the thing was making a lot of noise, didn't really want to spend any time. He just basically stated that it's making a noise and the company didn't care if it's making a noise, as long as it's working. He didn't want to wait around till the noise would start again. He said, "I think it's just defrosting," but he just guessed at it. And he said, "If it quits working, call me back."

My experience with American Home Shield has been fine. I did it all this on the web, with the questionnaire that they already have. The plumbing was clogged and now, it's working. The contractor they sent was fine.

This was my second experience submitting a claim with American Home Shield. The Internet was down so I had to do it over the phone. The rep I spoke with was friendly and knowledgeable and the contractor was extremely professional and courteous. Everything went fine and was easy. The heater works now.

The contractor American Home Shield sent for the plumbing claim I submitted was very good. He called me and came over when he said he was going to. He explained the job and did the job well. I was very happy.

I called up American Home Shield about plumbing but just prior to that I had called about a slab leak. Initially it was a slab leak. Someone came out and did the job and then about a week and a half later, another leak surfaced. Of course I wasn't covered at that point because they had already expended the $1000 that is allotted for slab leaks. So when they put in the second request, it was for plumbing, but at that point what they did was tell me that they would send the person out to take a look to make sure it was a slab leak and if it was, that there was nothing they could do about it.

I've been with American Home Shield almost 14 years. The most recent claim I made was for the dishwasher. I've had somebody out here over the years at least twice on that dishwasher. The contractor they sent out this time was fantastic. Some of their contractors are not too swift, like the one that we experienced with our refrigerator, but this guy was super good and nice and it went off really good. He also has handled my dryer and he did a super job with that. Some of these people in the past were bad. But when they give me one that I've had experience and know is bad, I'd say, "Uh-uh, I ain't taking him."

There was no cold water and ice coming out of the fridge. We placed a claim with American Home Shield and the contractor they sent out were good. They changed a part and it was done the way I want it done. I’m satisfied with it.

Extremely unhappy with AHS. Been with them for 13 years. Had to buy Washer & Dryer - 30 year old Appliances. Refrigerator stopped working. AHS sent 3 techs in 3 weeks - food spoiled and I had to buy new one. I have paid them a lot of money over the years and have received very little service. Talked to several homeowners who have AHS who aren't satisfied. I am changing companies - have found three that offer better service guaranteed and a whole lot better prices.

I haven't had any problems working with American Home Shied. I submitted a claim for the garbage disposal this last time. It was easy to file a claim. I wasn't here at the time they came as I went out to work but I heard everything was good with the contractors they sent.

We filed a claim to AHS for a hot water heater. They took someone out. They made contact with the plumber immediately who got a hold of me, and within 24 hours, they were there. I'd recommend AHS.

Twice now a service tech from AHS has needed to leave my house to go and buy a needed part for my furnace. Both times the tech was informative and prompt. My furnace works well now with its brand new pieces. I highly praise AHS and would recommend to any homeowner.

We've only had American Home Shield in November. We've only had somebody come out one time. It was for the space heater in the ceiling in the bathroom. The whole process was very nice, very easy, very helpful and very friendly. From everything my husband said, it was just a very pleasant experience with the contractor. He was very handy and helpful. And it's perfectly working now. It was a pleasant and helpful experience, totally successful.

Submitting the claim with American Home Shield was fine, but then it took them quite a waste of time to get the washer fixed.

American Home Shield has been very helpful and useful when I need them since I am a single parent now. It really helps out that I can call them when something goes wrong. I submitted a claim recently for my heating unit and it was a very pleasant experience. It's putting out pretty good heat and the contractor changed my thermostat that was obsolete, old and antiquated. So the heating unit is a whole lot better.

I put in a claim with American Home Shield to have my AC checked. I had it checked yesterday to make sure it was in working order for the summer. I had no problems submitting the claim. They called me up because I'm scheduled to have twice yearly check-ups and evidently that has worked out.

My experience with American Home Shield was great. The last claim was for my outside heating unit, my heat pump. I had a bad wire in it. The wire had rusted. At the outset, when we had really frigid cold temperatures outside, the unit wasn't running at all, and now it's running constantly, as it is supposed to. We had 7-degree weather.and the contractor said that it was not going to run at that. But he came out because the weather warmed up some and replaced some wires and it has been working fine since then. In the last five years, I've never had any problem with anybody American Home Shield has sent out here.

American Home Shield is awesome. We needed the heater and called them. We were thinking these guys would take at least a couple of weeks and they just came within a couple days, so it was fast. They helped when it was needed. We didn't have any problems with them so far.

The service from American Home Shield was outstanding. I called them on the automated system and I just told the system what was wrong. I had a leaky faucet and they sent someone out here to get it. The contractor was very good. I was very pleased. I have a brick-paved driveway and he parked his van in my driveway and it was leaking oil. And when he left, I see I got two oil spots. I didn't realize it until he left. This driveway was new, less than a year old and it really aggravated me but his work was fantastic so I never even called his company...

It was easy to submit a claim with American Home Shield, and the company they sent was professional and courteous. They noted some mistakes that the previous contractor had done. They were really helpful and fixed them up for free. That was nice.

There was a leak in my restroom. It would start and stop, so we weren't sure exactly. The shower curtain would be left open and water would come out of the shower and seep through that way. It took us a couple of weeks to figure out because it wasn't a constant flow that was coming out. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield and the contractor they sent out was good. He identified the problem pretty quick and fixed it within the hour.

I never had any problems with American Home Shield. They've always been prompt, except for one incident and it wasn't them. It was the contractors that they sent out that didn't want to repair something that was costly.

My heating unit cuts off periodically at night on its own so I called American Home Shield and they referenced me to an agency that came out the following Monday and it has been working ever since. Everything was smooth, I just paid my deductible and that was it. The claims representative was very helpful. She offered another resource because the company that they initially had was already booked.

Working with American Home Shield has been positive for the most part. My last claim was for the garage door opener and the repair person that came was fine and took care of everything. I would recommend them.

American Home Shield is very efficient and friendly. I had put in a claim for a garage door opener. The chain had broken. The representative I spoke to was excellent.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was for the water heater which they had to replace. Everything went fine with that and I was pleased. The first time, it was for the garage door opener and it turned out that nothing was wrong with it. I had to call AHS using that telephone recorded message thing. It doesn't always work for me because you can't ask questions about various things and I would have preferred speaking with a live person. For instance, I didn't know that their contractors had only two days to respond to your call, and so I had to wait a little bit longer than I would have if I had known about that.

The contractors that American Home Shield sent have done a good job for us. I would recommend having AHS.

I started with American Home Shield in California. My most recent claim was for a leaky water heater. The process for submitting a claim went well and we liked the contractor they sent out a lot.

We're very happy with American Home Shield. They've been very cooperative in the problems we've had with various pieces of equipment in the house. There was one time that we had one party that showed up here that wasn't too good, and I had to call them back. We were able to change it to somebody else that we'd had once before that were very good.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was for a faulty pump motor on pool equipment. The contractor was very good. I would definitely recommend them.

The last couple of times I've filed a claim with American Home Shield, I went through the automated system. The contractors they've sent have been pleasant. The last guy that was here was for my stove. He actually went and got parts and brought it back. It was the same thing with the air conditioner. If they need parts, they all managed to go out and get them and bring them back instead of leaving me to wait. It's great and I prefer that. They are efficient and get the job done. Every time they come, they fix it right then and there. However, you can't request for a particular contractor. What could use some fine tuning is being able to request the same contractor because I already had this person in my home and they already know this piece of equipment. But it's a new contractor every time and that's a drawback. Other than that, they do an awesome job and even though it is a new person every time, they do well.

The American Home Shield people understood what I wanted and someone had told me that people would be giving me a call. We had the garage door opener fixed. It's much quieter now. I didn't think that they could fix it but the contractor was able to fix it. It works a lot better. My wife said they were very pleasant people to work with. It has been a good experience. A customer of mine was the one that told me about American Home Shield and I was pleased with my result.

American Home Shield is good at fixing things. I submitted a claim with them for a swimming pool problem, which started last Friday. The ring over the hose and the filter together exploded and all the water leaked out. I called the service guy right away because he's done some other work on my pool before. I told him that it was the Jandy filter that needs to be ordered from California. He hadn't even gotten an authorization from AHS yet and he was already looking for the part for me. He got the part on Tuesday and put it on a Wednesday. Awesome! It's pretty good service there.

The contractor American Home Shield sent out was awesome. He was very informative and explained to me everything he was doing. The representative that I spoke with was very courteous and very friendly. I had a stoppage in the plumbing and now it's good.

The fan was running in the heating system, but there was no heat. The first time I submitted the claim with American Home Shield, it was over the phone. It was fine and I cancelled it because it appeared as though the heating system worked. Then I submitted it online and it was no problem at all. I just never received a follow-up call after the service was done. The contractor they sent was great.

I've had American Home Shield for years. The problem started about three days before they came. I called during a snowstorm that we had here about a month ago. Everybody was excellent. It was on a weekend and snowing here so they couldn't get to me right away but they got to me in two days and the service was excellent. The contractor was very good and professional. They offered to come back if I had any more problems, free of charge. AHS has always been on time and good. I haven't had a job done by them that wasn't completed. They always explained everything and I understood what was going on and I would recommend them to family and friends.

When my husband, Active Duty Army, came down on orders for us to move, I immediately began researching home warranty programs. I knew that if we were not there to fix whatever needed to be fixed I was going to find the BEST company that would care for my home. Was I ever wrong... We called American Home Shield 23 December because our tenants did not have heat. The 26th a contractor came out and assess we needed a new air handler, mastic and Freon. Paid $625.00 and waited for the install date, 07 January. Bought tenants 3 space heaters, firewood and deducted money off their rent as this was not exactly how a family with 3 babies wanted to spend their holidays....

For our claim with American Home Shield on the garage door, we worked with two different companies. The first company that I dealt with was not satisfactory. The guy that came was horrendous. He was just white trash and it was horrible. And this is a rental property so he was dealing with my renter, which wasn't great. Then it was a month ago that we had another company come and they were fabulous! He was absolutely great and meticulous and explained everything. Submitting a claim with AHS was perfect and great every time. Within the day, they would call back. Each agent I have spoken to has been wonderful. Overall, the experience has been good.

The most recent claim with American Home Shield was for my air conditioning unit. They had to repair that but everything is working good now. It was making a noise. The contractor they sent out was very good. He seemed to be very professional. He knew what he was doing and did a good job. Everything seems to be all right so far. Everything is okay.

I got a call from Kassilynn shortly after leaving my phone number and she was amazing. She mediated my calls to the appliance repair company, followed up, and expedited the whole process. I am very satisfied now and will continue to use AHS in the coming years based on this experience. :D

I'm a realtor and I’ve used American Home Shield for years. My most recent one was for my plumbing. I got home one night and pulled in my garage and heard a hissing sound and saw water. And so, I started calling and I got a hold of Diana, and she got a hold of somebody right away. I was assured that my house wouldn't blow up that night, and then they scheduled the repair and they did it. The contractor that they sent was very nice. He was professional and courteous.

I'm very pleased with American Home Shield and I would definitely recommend them. They were exemplary. They've got a very well run company. I get emails from them every week or so with information and data and there is a monthly newsletter. We had some switches that weren't working right. My wife handled the claim with them and said that everyone was pretty good. She said that the tech that came out was a wonderful, really nice guy. He got it done to like new condition. It was quick and I really appreciated that. When the lights came back on, it was pretty eye-opening.

I have no problem with American Home Shield. I think they're a great company. I haven't had any of my clients complain about them. I've had them for about six months or so. My microwave just stopped working one day so I called and filed the claim. The contractor that they sent you was good but I did find the problem that resulted out of him repairing the microwave and I have not even contacted American Home Shield yet. There was something loose in the hood around the microwave and it fell down. I did contact the company and he said he did not break it. I said, “I never had anything done on it. I felt it loose after you came back.” He said he would come and take pictures.

We're well satisfied with American Home Shield. The stove wasn't working at all. It just came on broil. The contractor they sent was very professional and very informative. Now the stove is working. American Home Shield has always treated us nice. They are good and very professional. I’ve recommended them.

American Home Shield came out to service the air conditioner and then they had to do a repair. The contractor they sent was great. Now it’s working. So far, AHS has been great. I would recommend AHS to others.

We've had American Home Shield for almost five years now. My most recent claim was for our dryer. Ultimately, it took four trips to figure out what was wrong with it, but they finally got it fixed. We think that their service is valuable and we're going to continue subscribing to it. There have been some things that took a while to figure out, but that's understandable. We had issues with our air conditioner and it took almost two years and six visits to figure out what was really wrong with it. All in all, we've been pleased with the result and it has saved us a lot of money.

It was a pretty quick turnaround from my initial call to American Home Shield about my appliance being broken. It only took two hours for the company to call me directly back to set up an appointment or to come and look at my appliance. So everything was taken care of pretty quickly. I had put in a claim for the dishwasher. It's 5 years old and the motor had died. I needed a new one and a new sprayer so all that was replaced.

Our claim with American Home Shield was for the water heater. The rep was nice and kind. The service from both the first contractor and the second contractor was good. The only thing is that I was only supposed to be charged $75 for the first contractor but American Home Shield sent me a statement saying that I owed $75 even though I had paid the first person that came out. I guess it was because two people had to come out, an electrician and one for the water heater. The water heater actually caught on fire and that's why they had to send an electrician out. The overall experience was good. The only part I didn't like was them charging and trying to re-charge. They could have filled in my contract or whatever on the computer that I did all the additional stuff.

Putting in a claim with American Home Shield was really easy and went well. All I did was go online and schedule a service request. The person they sent out was good. I like the contractor they sent out. He was a nice guy. He told us everything that was wrong with our water heater and asked us if we had any questions and it was pretty basic. We ended up having to get a new water heater so now it's fine. It was not something we could wait on until it actually broke in order to use our home warranty for it. So we had to go ahead and get one done.

I sent a claim to American Home Shield for my garage door opener. There were two electricians that came out. The first one was Platinum. They were horrible and they didn't fix it. Then they sent out Dawn Electric which were wonderful and he had it fixed like in 10 minutes.

I submitted a claim due to a problem with our furnace. It was not working. There was some confusion. The first part, they sent two people. The first team who came out said they weren't going to touch it because he was not feeling well. I said, what do I do? And he said, call them back and see if they’ll send someone else.

The only claim we've had with American Home Shield was the heater went out one morning. We called them and they got a tech over and had it fixed that morning. I've had no issues. Got a company on the phone, got a guy out there and got it done. It was a good experience, easy to get in touch with and they responded quickly.

My experience with American Home Shield was positive. Submitting a claim was easy. The problem started happening a few months ago and when I submitted a claim, it was fixed. It's working noticeably better now. Everything was easy, quick and valuable.

American Home Shield was offered to us when we first moved into the house. I submitted one claim this weekend for them to come, for them to contact a repair place that did not fully repair our dryer about a week ago. The representatives were fine. They had to put me on hold to research our account and then find out when they are available to come out and it took a while for them to come back to the phone. But they took care of everything that I needed for them to. The contractors are coming tomorrow morning. They've always been very helpful and courteous.

My claim was about a J box in our wall where the wires had burned for some reason. The serviceman very carefully explained exactly what was wrong and that because of the burning of the wires, he had to put in a new J box higher up. So it's a good wire, which he did, and once he did that, he put a new J box and hooked up the wires and put everything back and it works fine. I would recommend them.

When I called American Home Shield, the service was great. I told them the problem with the furnace and they gave me the name of the person. I didn't have any problem with them at all. My only complaint is with the contractor’s company. Once the technician came out, he was fine. He was very professional, very courteous and fixed the problem. I just was not happy that they first didn't call the number I told them to and that they left a message. And they didn't follow up. When I followed up, they told me I could still have someone come but I would be charged overtime or after-hour rates in addition to my $75 service call. I would not use or recommend that company. I would use somebody else.

My last claim had to do with an electrical issue. There was a short in the wires, and AHS came by and fixed it. They've always been great. I would recommend American Home Shield.

The first couple of years I was very disappointed in American Home Shield. I quit them and went with another company, and then went back. I don’t recall why. The American Home Shield in this area, it takes them half a day to get a hold of somebody. And then they can’t assure you when they’re gonna come, or they won’t. You know I wanted better service. Their service just wasn't very good. The guys that came out to work did good jobs. But that’s not American Home Shield. I just was not satisfied with their service. I think they need to be more attuned to what the customer needs.

American Home Shield is always the same. They're there to help you. They don't make any judgments about what you are asking them to do. They just talk to you and get your order in. With us, it's usually the plumbing. We have always had the vendor that comes out to do it to fix our plumbing. And it's always like that - the same day or the very next morning, I would get a call. It's very fast. The only thing is we did have one bad experience, but it wasn't through them. It was because of their vendor that comes out. When they send someone to do a survey and you write an essay about a bad contractor, you do not get contacted. That’s the only thing that I would change; that they would actually contact because of a bad review on a vendor that comes out.

AHS representative was very nice and informative, tried to give alternate solutions to try to rectify the situation with our plumbing problem. I got two visits with their contractor. We found out that there were some additional problems with it. It was fixed and everything so we didn't have any problems. To the best of our knowledge as of right now, it’s satisfactory to us. It works 100% now. AHS are very nice and friendly and knowledgeable people that is willing to do anything that we need to do to help settle any problems that we have with our home. The company is very knowledgeable about dealing with homes. I really like them and I would recommend them. I talk to a lot of my friends about them.

American Home Shield is fine. I'm satisfactorily happy with them.

My heat pump wasn't heating properly. The representative was very helpful. The contractors were professional and courteous. They did great.

I've always had really good luck with them. They schedule appointments pretty quick. The guys come out, they do their job and that’s it. The contractors were very courteous. They just did a good job. I had a great experience that’s all I can say.

We've had American Home Shield for a number of years. The representatives are fine. The problems that I have are that some of the contractors are not contractors I would want to work in my house or on equipment in our house. They eventually get it right although we had one property that they were not happy. It’s in a very remote coastal town and it’s difficult to find service providers in the area. And so after they made the repair, they refused to renew our policy. That was pretty bad. They’re probably like all other home warranty companies. It's hit and miss as to who they send out.

Submitting a claim to American Home Shield is easy. I just called the number that I have to call in a service. And they setup someone to come in and check it, and they called and made an appointment, and it was very easy. It was for our hot water heater, but it was actually nothing. I couldn't find it. I didn't know where the breaker was and they put the breaker on this time. The contractor they sent was really professional. It was very good. They came when they said they would. They got right to the issue and took care of it.

I've only had to use AHS once, and because of the size of town I lived on, I had to wait a few more days. I had to wait a week and a half actually before anyone could come because the offices, they cater to the people on the east side. I didn't think that was fair. I should've been able to at least get service within a couple of days or three days or something like that. But other than that I have no complaints. Everything was good.

We got up on a Saturday morning and the heat wasn't working. We sent a claim to American Home Shield and they called us and made an appointment and came right on out. The contractors they sent always have been good. The recent one knew immediately what the problem was when he got here and fixed it and was gone in about 15 minutes. All the experiences with AHS have been good. I never had a problem getting anything fixed.

We've had no problems with submitting the claims. There have been a few duds, but closer than we would have gotten on our own. It’s been a valuable service. We have recommended them to friends.

I like American Home Shield. I had an air condition check because I was selling my home and it was one of the requirements they wanted me to get done. A month prior, I've done it on my own for the same thing. I knew nothing was wrong with it but they just wanted us to check it. Filing the claim was great. The rep helps me with everything. She did the claim and did everything for me. The contractor they sent was someone I've seen before so I had a good interaction with him. I had a plumber come out a few days before that to check some stuff. They go out of their way. It wasn't too bad. I've already recommended AHS. They’re great.

I've had American Home Shield in the past years and years ago for several years. It’s light years from where it used to be. You can do everything online and they get right back with you. It has not even been 24 hours, the two times that I've contacted them. The representatives were very courteous. The contractors were very professional. The only one we've dealt is Premier Appliances and they were really great. I’m extremely pleased. I've recommended them to three of our neighbors so far.

On their last visit the AHS contractors were knowledgeable and friendly.

I had a stopped up sewage pipe inside the house. The water, when you flush the commode, was making noise in the wall. It wasn't really flushing well. I called American Home Shield. They couldn't fix it. They got the sewage or the pipe inside the house cleaned but there’s another problem and they weren't going to do anything to it unless I paid an extra $400. It works better but there’s still something wrong. The guy who came was real knowledgeable. He worked his butt off for a couple of hours trying to resolve the issue.

The problem is not fixed and is still backing up into my house. FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I bought my condo or townhouse I requested a warranty and American Home Shield was the one that they bought. Recently, my furnace had quit putting out hot air. It was still running but it wasn't heating. I went online to do the request at first and then I called back to let them know that it was an emergency because the temperature that night was going to be below zero. They were really nice. They upgraded it to an emergency. The contractor that came was great. In fact, he called while I was still on the phone. It just worked out that he was fairly close in the neighborhood so he came within an hour or less and it went well. The company has always been really responsive. I've gotten quick service on all my calls that I've called in. They are very professional and quick.

It's been a plumbing problem. I thought I'd fixed it and then it turned out to be more than I thought I could solve at first. It's my first time to use American Home Shield and I'm completely satisfied with the repair. I'd recommend using AHS.

It just seemed like every time it got cold, our garage door wouldn't shut. It started last winter. We would have to hold the button down for it to go all the way down. And then this winter when it got freezing cold, it wouldn't shut at all and we’d have to pull the emergency release so we finally called American Home Shield. Filing the claim was pretty simple. I just did it all online. The contractors they sent were really nice. They came out, they fixed it and then they left. And then I went to close the garage door and it wouldn't work so I had to call them back out and they came right back out within five minutes and fixed it again. Now it’s a hundred percent better. AHS has been great to work with.

American Home Shield is great. I've had them a while. I'm glad I have them because a lot of times, you can't find people to do things for you. And I find that when I call them, they normally would send somebody right out. All of them that I've dealt with are very polite.

Our hot water heater we discovered started leaking at about 8 one evening. After calling in, the customer service representative was really helpful and did all she could in trying to find someone to repair it. After that attempted failed, she called us back to let us know what was going on and then again in the morning when she finally got a hold of something. The plumber was out at the house in a reasonable manner and overall very happy with all that he did.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield had to do with power. I thought it was the dryer which is a 220 circuit and there wasn't any heat. I checked everything that I could. And they sent a guy out and he found out it was electrical from the main box. They then turned it over to an electrician that came out and diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I'm very satisfied with the experience. I've had AHS for a numbers of years and they have always been good.

I had to replace the whole unit of my microwave range hood, so on the bright side, I got a whole new unit but I didn't like the fact two light bulbs underneath them instead of one produced a little more light. But I came out ahead on the deal because I got a brand new microwave instead of one that was nine or ten years old... Very, very professional, very well-run outfit, and everything was scheduled well so I'm very satisfied with it.

I haven't had any problems with American Home Shield. They cover what they can cover. It's beneficial to me since my property is a rental. They're fine and very helpful. I have no problem with their contractors.

I recommended American Home Shield to somebody, and they had a bad experience with them because they had a different brand dishwasher than your common KitchenAid or GE and they had to go and get an outside repairman who knows how to fix those kinds of dishwasher and they made them pay the whole thing themselves.

I arranged to have an AHS warranty with a house that I purchased last year. I have actually used AHS 3 times over the past year and all experiences have been very positive. I had someone come out last fall to look at the A/C (needed a new circuit board and refrigerant), and then I had a few calls this winter for the furnace (flame switch and blower motor). I have no complaints about the contractors (two different companies - both seemed very professional and I would use either again), and the AHS warranty process seems very simple and user-friendly. I have renewed my warranty for the next year, and I think I broke even cost-wise with the 3 calls over the last year. It is a nice comfort to know that there is an easy and quick way to arrange for service without spending time to research different companies and contractors. I would definitely recommend to a friend who is interested!

My most recent claim to AHS is for an appliance. There was a problem with the belt and the washer was not working. Now it's working. Prior to that I also did a claim.

Always professional and courteous. Submitted a claim for a plumbing problem and they paid for all that they were going to pay for. However my plumbing problem is ongoing, and I had to go to someone outside of their coverage. They said that I was not covered anymore until I got the plumbing problem paid for.

Recently, my husband and I purchased our first home. We were very excited and looked forward to being homeowners. Our home came with a hot tub. We had been in the home for 6 months and used the hot tub several times. Then, we noticed that it was not heating up properly so we immediately contacted Home Shield. One week after we called them, a gentleman finally came out to look at it. He spent literally 3 minutes looking at the tub then left. The company that Home Shield contracted to come out called us another week later and informed us that our hot tub was 'not wired correctly and would not be covered'. We considered calling Home Shield again, but then we received a bill. A bill for someone to come out for to look at our appliance for 3 minutes and NOT fix it, or tell us anything more than we already knew. We were unaware that a company would still require a 'service fee' for not fixing the appliance. A company that we pay yearly to have our appliances under warranty.

I've had American Home Shield for two years. Recently, we had an electrical problem in our bathroom. The lights were just flickering. The rep was professional. They’re real good about getting on it right away. The company they sent out was professional. I did have a company before to fix our heater that I didn't like as they were unprofessional but this time, AHS actually sent somebody else. I’m happy with AHS. They make things right.

I've been with American Home Shield for seven years now. The element in my oven was broken. Its been easy to submit a claim. You can just go online and do it or call, but I usually call. So they sent contractors. I haven't had any problems with any of the contractors. They're pretty courteous. They notify me quickly. It's a good service but it's expensive. That's my only complaint.

My parents have American Home Shield and are being taken advantage of by this company. They are elderly and have been without heat for a week in this cold weather. AHS is using a company that appears to not have a real address. It seems that the company they sent to repair my parents' furnace, Maxx Mechanical, has a fake address. They have no idea how to fix my parents' furnace. Today is Sunday, but by tomorrow I plan to involve the attorney general's office and contact an attorney. My parents are both coming down with colds from being without heat for a week. If they become seriously ill this company AHS may be dealing with a negligence lawsuit as well.

I love them. All of the positive accolade that you can assign to an organization needs to go to American Home Shield. They are protectors, they are insurers, they are informers, they are helpers, they have all of those things, and it really makes home ownership... well, I'll put it this way... no one should own a home without American Home Shield.

My claim was for the garbage disposal and one of the sink's faucets. The American Home Shield rep was so kind and good. Everything was so easy and smooth. The contractor they sent was so assertive. He was friendly but he didn't talk too much. He said he needed some part and would be back the next day. He changed the faucet and we didn't have any leak anymore. We have been so happy with them. It’s a reliable service.

The experience that I've had going through American Home Shield has always worked out very well. I haven't had any complaints at all.

One day in middle of a particularly hot summer we heard a loud POP outside and our AC system died. We called American Home Shield (AHS) and arranged a service call through them. A local AC repair company arrived and recommended replacing this 30+ year old Borg Warner system (which appeared to be the unit which originally came with the house when it was built ca. 1979).

After further dealing with AMS, I will say that they did make an effort to resolve the issue again. After this post, I was contacted by and AMS representative who was much more helpful than the original gentleman I dealt with though customer service. The original reason I called AMS out to my house was because of the loud noise my A/C unit was making. The original repair service came out and told us my compressor was being overworked and needed to me replaced do to a missing diverter in the attic. AMS stated they would not repair the A/C because of the preexisting condition, and would not cover it going forward even if I paid to have the part repaired.

I am very satisfied with the customer service and service repair that I have been receiving since I have joined AHS. Keep up the good work!

I could not be more please with the service I received from Home Shield. I simply called and the job was done within a week.

American Home Shield did a good job repairing my garbage disposal. This was my first experience working with them and I did it online. All I know was that it was leaking maybe days before the call. Everything went okay.

I'm a realtor so that's how I first heard about American Home Shield, home warranties in general. They're the preferred company by my company. We do offer other warranties as well, but I like AHS' coverage. I had a couple of appliances serviced and they've been excellent. I had the same contractor come out before, and he was great.

I've had a contract with American Home Shield for a couple of years now. I had issues with my heater and I submitted my request online. Southern Comfort was the ones that came out and I have nothing but great things to say about them. Everything was handled fine with the heater issue. But last year, when I had air conditioning problems, it was a nightmare. I am seriously looking at other home warranties because of that issue last year and how I was treated, not only by American Home Shield employees but also by the sorry company that they sent out.

For American Home Shield's response to my issues as outlined on Consumer Affairs, I give them a 5 -Star rating. Within a few hours of my posting, I received a call from a very competent representative from the Customer Service department. First, I was impressed that Kassilynn had done her homework and reviewed the file before calling - this was not the blah-blah-blah that I had been hearing. She understood the sequence of events and that it had been poorly handled from my first call. I didn't have to explain, justify, or get upset again. It was an adult conversation.

I’m a disabled vet and someone had told me about American Home Shield. We've had them for a couple of years now. They've always been wonderful whenever we've had a claim come in, especially now when it’s hard for me to be able to do stuff these days. It makes things so much easier and I recommend it to anybody that has difficulty doing minor work on appliances. They’re professional, have experienced subcontractors and I’d much rather pay a little bit each month than $400 or $500 in one pop. I never had a problem with them when I submitted claims. The most recent claim was for a dishwasher that is three years old. The drain line was clogged and it had a bunch of gunk that needed cleaning out. They sent out a contractor who was wonderful and now the dishes come out cleaner. I have had bad contractors before and American Home Shield has been wonderful about not sending them back out.

I had no problems with American Home Shield. They were very good. Everything is resolved. What I like the best is that no matter what repair I need, whether for appliances or plumbing or electric or anything that Home Shield covers, I just have to call one place to get all the services and don't have to go to the yellow pages to try to find somebody. It is a great idea.

American Home Shield is pretty good, fast and accurate.

I have a bad furnace blower motor. The motor has about 1x2 inch end play causing the furnace to vibrate and shake. This will cause the blower wheel to come apart, and damage the furnace and will cause the motor to overheat which could cause a fire. After the company Weathervane that you sent out, checked the furnace, informed me that American Home Shield stated that vibration and noise are not failures at this time because the motor still runs. So to me you would rather reface the furnace when it shakes apart or repair a house if it causes a fire.

The service and the service man were great. The only problem I have is response time once I call AHS. It seems as if no kind of priority is given, regardless of the problem. I could not get the service man to return my calls. Very frustrating. When I initially joined AHS I always received prompt service.

We had received our home warranty from American Home Shield when we bought our home. You're a little skeptical at first, wondering if this will be a good service. Well, this has been a great service. We have used AHS several times, beginning with a replacement part on our stove. This winter proved to be a real test as it has been unusually cold. We had an issue with a water pipe freezing. AHS has been very helpful in providing professional plumbing services for helping with resolving our issue.
