In the last month, I called AHS to have my a.c. checked for the hot Scottsdale summer and fall. John From Progressive showed up again. This is the fifth year he has performed magic with my old a.c. When John comes in the door, I know that everything will be soon functioning smoothly and that my old a.c. will run well for another year. I think it is over 25 years old. Last week, Hector from Beyer Appliance rejuvenated my old Admiral washing machine. He like John explains what has to be done and why. All my questions are answered. I am 75 and live alone. My husband is blind, crippled from M.S. and in a nursing home. AHS is my stalwart friend. I can always depend on you for service, answers, and pleasant people to tell my problems to. I have told many people about you as I would find life much more difficult without you. Thank you.

I had just signed on with AHS about 2 months ago. And it just so happened my dishwasher stopped working. I called and AHS had someone at my house in a couple of days. The dishwasher was repaired in a matter of minutes and have no problems since.

I am most pleased with the quick reply when technician was dispatched after submitting report of broken water heater. However, I am most displeased with having to pay over $400.00 out of pocket for the repair. Coverage should include upgrades to older systems. I did not appreciate that the upgrade came at my expense.

We have had AHS for about 13 years now and are very happy with it. We have needed some major repairs done and they have never argued or quibbled, just allowed the job to be done. They send folks from local repair shops when they can and if something isn't done right, they fix it. We've recommended AHS to several of our friends because we are so pleased.

I have been using AHS for the last four years. Their customer service representatives are courteous and very helpful. I am just a happy customer and highly recommend their service.

Fixed heater, gas leak.

I have AHS on a house I own that my sick daughter lives in. I have this coverage to make things easier for her. She cannot tolerate heat well with her disease, so when the air conditioning goes out or has a problem, I get on it right away. I think it took 4 times for someone to fix the problem last summer. This past March, we called for service and it took over a month to get it fixed. First the part ordered didn't work and it was finally decided to replace the unit or at least that is what I was told.

Days after purchasing the plan my Microwave stopped working. The parts were ordered and repaired in a very short time, and I am very pleased with the prompt service.

I recently had an A/C unit that was freezing up. The repair guy came out and told me that my system had a freon leak and that it was low 2 lbs. AHS only pays for $10/lb of freon. Freon cost $60/lb. Therefore, AHS paid $20 plus the leak stop. Seems like they could pay more. I guess we'll see how it is when I have my next A/C problem. It's coming in the near future because I've had nothing but problems with my A/C units!!!

My oven stopped working one night without any warning. I went online at AHS and created a service order the next morning. I received a call very shortly from the service contractor saying the technician would call me to schedule. The technician called and came the same day after a couple of hours. He diagnosed and confirmed that the igniter was the culprit. Fortunately, he had the part in his van. He replaced it and tested to make sure everything was working and put everything back together. The whole repair took only 30 min or so.

I had both repaired very nice. Tech fix same day. No problem. No mess. Gave me some good tips. I am very happy with this service. Thank you.

I have been with American Home Shield for over 10 yrs. I have been very happy with the service I've received. No complaints. I do wish they had preventive care - like having the air conditioning and heating checked by a professional - covered, but I'm happy.

The technician was helpful. Our stove is about 15 years old so we would like to see if it is worth repairing or purchasing a new one. A 27 in. drop-in is a very odd-sized stove. He stated that AHS will contact us about our options.

When I call American Home Shield to schedule a repair, I know that I will be receiving quality service from the companies that come out to my house. I have security that my repairs will be done quickly and efficiently.

Robert at Pro-Connect was very professional and knowledgeable about everything. Same with Joseph from the Electrical company was also excellent and all were fast to get out to our home within a day and same day. We did not like Right-Away Plumbing as they came out, did an inspection, said they would give us a quote but we never heard from them. I would recommend the other service repair businesses and especially American Home Shield as an excellent value with quick and knowledgeable.

We have had AHS for years, in two different states, as well as recommending them to clients when we were real estate agents. AHS always comes through for its clients. Our most recent experience concerned a non-working built-in microwave oven and some non-working electrical outlets in the kitchen. The microwave required new parts to be ordered, thus a second service call. Customer service set up the service calls quickly and efficiently. Both companies that handled the repairs sent competent, knowledgeable service people to address those repairs. We were quite satisfied with the repairs and the entire process.

I was very pleased with American Home Shield's response. I requested service via their website. This was quick and easy to do. Within one week a service man was at the house and fixed the problem the same day.

Needed service and requested online. Someone called the same day to set up service date and would have been out the next day except it was not convenient for us. Was able to schedule service to meet our schedule. Fast friendly service and peace of mind should an unexpected repair occur. I highly recommend AHS to all my friends & family.

American Home Shield used to be really good about taking care of their customers and if a company they dispatched for a service call didn't fix the problem, they would send someone else out. THOSE ARE DAYS GONE BY! Our Maytag washing machine has been down for a month and BAY TO BAY APPLIANCE (NO) REPAIR just made their third trip out here. OUR WASHING MACHINE STILL DOES NOT WORK!!! I have called AHS numerous times asking for another company and they refuse. I ask about replacing the washer and all AHS can say is the repair company needs to deem the item unrepairable before they will replace it. SERIOUSLY???? How long do we have wait and how many trips does Bay to Bay have to make out here before someone figures out THEY CAN'T FIX IT? Of course, trying to escalate this to a supervisor at AHS goes nowhere too. I leave a voicemail and no one calls me back. I'm done. Needless to say, I will no longer be an AHS customer once this fiasco is over.

I've used AHS twice since I purchased my home. I just wish you would cover stand up freezers. I own two and wish you covered them, but from what I understand, you don't. Other than that, I like the coverage and service.

The contractors who serviced our home were professional and courteous, yet friendly. We have contacted them for projects outside of the scope of what our contract covers because we are so pleased with the service.

I signed up for the semi annual a/c and heating preventive maintenance service. When I called, AHS provided me with the contractor's name and number. The next day they contacted me and performed the maintenance which included checking my systems and cleaning the Heat Pump outside. I am very happy AHS has this company under contract.

I've had AHS since we bought our home in 2008. Since then we've used the service more than a few times. Each time we've had excellent customer service. The companies that they chose to fix our issues were professional, courteous, and very prompt. We had to have our furnace fixed one winter and AHS had someone come out right away! We recently had our dryer fixed and it works great again. Everything they had fixed stayed fixed. No need for returned service calls. I recommend AHS and as long as I own my home I will stay a loyal customer.

Each time I have had to request a service call, I have had very good service and turnaround time. Very pleased and have referred AHS to many friends.

As far as getting somebody in the house for any repairs that I need, American Home Shield has been a great help. The problem with the heating started maybe two years ago. There was always one thing after another and it was another company. It just so happened that my bill continued to grow and it went to where it was too high, about $$400. I would call the company and they would come more than 30 days after the fact. One day it could be hot; another day it could be cold. My last repair in November, the technician told me that the issue was fixed, but the next two months, my light bill didn't change.

Our hot water heater started leaking last Friday. We called the plumber Monday because we had not heard from them and received an appointment Tuesday afternoon. The plumber confirmed we needed a new hot water heater but needed approval from AHS. They said we should hear back in a day. It is now after business hours and still no contact from AHS and no hot water. We purchased the best policy that they offered at nearly $700 for the past five years but will not be renewing. We could have had Ben Franklin Plumbing last Saturday and had hot water the same day.

The contractor responded quickly and performed the required repair of swimming pool heater.

Fast Claim submission, Good Customer Services, professional and education techs. I have had two claims. Both were resolved in timely and professional manner.

My experience with American Home Shield has been very good.

I've used American Home Shield several times through the years. Most recently, our upstairs heat wasn't running. It was the blower that had gone out. The serviceman was very good and very prompt. He came in and got the job done. A few years ago, Home Shield used a contractor that didn't fix our air conditioning. They made several trips out and added Freon to the lines but that wasn't the problem at all. The upstairs unit was leaking Freon and another company came out with a leak detector and detected that so they had to replace the unit. It has generally been good. When we've submitted a claim, they've gotten somebody on it pretty quickly. I also have a policy on another house. I've used them for five or six years and if I was dissatisfied, I wouldn't still be using them.

I'm very happy with American Home Shield. It has always been very good.

We haven't had American Home Shield that long and this was my first time submitting a claim to AHS since becoming a customer. I did it over the phone and there were problems with the contractor because he told me that he didn't get the fax from them, and then I had to call back and the girl said, "I don't know why he didn't get it, I sent it." And then magically, he got it!

I've never had a problem with American Home Shield. I've always been satisfied with the kind of service that I've received. And all of the contractors that we have come in contact with through American Home Shield have been very good quality. We've been with American Home Shield for quite a few years now, and we intend on staying.

The contractor was very polite, arrived on time and was dressed in a very professional manner. He completed his job quickly, efficiently, & satisfactorily. I had a good experience with your customer service. Everything ran smoothly & efficiently.

Well, the second AC company (3 Brothers) replaced a capacitor and filled up the unit with Freon (although AHS, like most warranty companies, only reimburses up to $10/pound and Freon runs over $50-60/pound now that it's being phased out. Ran $400). The unit cooled for about an hour then quit again. We called AHS back and the first AC company (Royal) came back out 3 days later and fixed the unit. At least AHS waived the service calls for both visits. We did get a followup call from a different AHS supervisor (the first was rude) and she gave us a direct line in case of any problems--she was great. So the unit finally got fixed but it required a lot of calls and aggressive followup on our part. I got the impression that their contractors at much less enthused to service home warranty work than regular cash business--kind of like a bad HMO that already has your money.

I had an instance last night where I thought my water heater was on blink and it actually wasn't. I tried to light it but the pilot light would go out. We had a repair for that not too long ago. So I called and submitted a claim but when I got up this morning, expecting the thing not to work, it's operating! I have hot water. So I had to cancel since I had made the appointment. But it was pleasant experience working with AHS when submitting the claim. And based on previous experiences I've had, their contractors follow their policy. They come, they give me a quote, they advise me, and if they have to get the parts then they come and put the part in.

I have used AHS for many years. I am impressed with both the customer service and the contractors.

AHS was excellent! I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for the first time. I did it over the phone. Their reps were good and the company they sent out to fix our plumbing were very good, very professional. It's perfect now. We've been pleased.

Submitting claims with American Home Shield is quick and easy. I submitted a claim for the pool and also for the garage door opener and did part online. I called them to get a service rep to come out and look at it. They told me what was covered and what wasn't after they submitted their report/request for repair parts. They told me something wasn't covered, and I called them back to find out what it was. The contractors were professional and courteous. They just come from long ways away. We live in a little town and there's not a lot of repair places around, so they would have to drive 30 to 50 miles or more to get here.

There was an issue with my tenant who was actually living in my property in Georgia. She was having water bills that were just of excessive amounts and she knew that there was a problem so she contacted me. I subsequently contacted American Home Shield and we got everything resolved. The contractor was awesome. As a matter of fact, he showed up within one to two days. He came in and he was able to diagnose the problem and she hasn't had an issue with the water since then. They are a very professional organization. Their customer service is off the charts and I intend on doing business with them for the next two years.

Overall, the experience with American Home Shield has been positive.

Everything worked out well with American Home Shield. Actually it was very good. We just had to wait for a part to come in, but that's because the system was under warranty. But other than that, everything else was fine. We haven't used the air conditioning but I'm assuming it's going to work.

We've had a good experience submitting a claim with American Home Shield for our our water. It was our first time and we did it over the phone. The representative was pretty helpful and the contractor they sent was good too. They took care of the problem. Having something fixed just made everything useable.

It took 30 days and 2 contractors to fix my washing machine. The first one ordered over $500.00 in parts and left without ever putting them in the machine and for that matter never even bringing them into my home. He left, said all was well and my machine smoked and ruined another load of clothes. Much better service with the second repair person.

I went online, submitted a claim to American Home Shield for the appliance and scheduled an appointment. The contractor was fine and it all went fine. I would highly recommend them.

American Home Shield is fine. The appliance people and the air conditioner people you all send are usually very good people, and I haven’t had any problems, but the plumbers they have in Midland is terrible.

American Home Shield has been good. Whenever we've had an issue, we just book online and someone gets back to us within a day to schedule an appointment and we've always had professionals come and fix any issue we've had.

American Home Shield is nice to have around. When I need to speak with a representative, they have been helpful and good.

The problem was the dishwasher and it wasn't running when we turn it on. We submitted a claim to American Home Shield and it was great. I had no problem at all. We made the claim and the guy called for deployment and came on a timely manner and fixed it. There were two different guys that came. Both of them were fine. They introduced themselves and fixed the problem. They were very professional. It was absolutely perfect. I have already recommended AHS.

I have only submitted one claim with American Home Shield and it was for our sink. I called it in. They were nice but the only thing is they said they were to come and it ended up taking like a day or so longer than they were supposed to come back.

The experience with American Home Shield is good, not great. The reason is some of their subs don't do a very good job. Some do an excellent job; some don't do anything or don't do a very good job. But if you do notify them, they will take care of you and it's well worth it.

My call for service was handled quickly, contractor called to schedule in less than 24 hours. The technician was professional, experienced and friendly. Repairs were completed quickly with 100% satisfaction on my part.

Had a broken valve on my pool. Took a little longer than desired to get the service, but once he arrived, he did a great job very quickly.

I submitted a claim for the water heater with American Home Shield over the phone. The lady representative was good and answered all my questions. The contractors did a great job. They were nice and showed up on time and did the job like they were supposed to do.

Filing a claim to American Home Shield was pleasant. I went online and it was very easy and very self-explanatory. The contractor they sent was great. He was awesome, very professional, very knowledgeable, and very well informed. Now our water heater works awesome. Other than that the technician was also very courteous and friendly.

American Home Shield Warranty gets the "we suck" award of the year! Have been in our new home less than 2 weeks and ran a load of laundry. Now have full bathtub, toilets, shower and back up onto the floor, need I say "emergency". American Home Shield Warranty never called us back in 2 hours, four hours, six hours or 8 hours despite repeated calls and then the emergency number after hours. We ended up in a motel, couldn't use our water, toilet or shower, and now today they say they tried three plumbers and no one in our area? Are you kidding me?

Our experience with American Home Shield was good. They fixed what they needed to fix and I have no issues.

This review is lengthy and could be longer, but this is a true, honest experience we have had with AHS. We have had this service since we bought our home in 2002 with a brief 6 months back in 2005 when we didn't have them. We have called them out every summer for 12 years, sometimes twice and have called them out in the winter time as well. They send someone to do patch work on the AC units. We have two units in our home and both have had issue but the main unit is the one that has issues constantly.

American Home Shield's service is excellent and better than most companies. I love their contractors and I'd like to recommend them each time.

I've submitted three claims to American Home Shield and all three were good. I was really skeptical at first but after the first situation, they were really good and really prompt. I did the submission online but when I've had to speak with them, they've been very courteous. It was easy to do it online. The contractors they've sent out have been professional, very knowledgeable and prompt. I haven't had a bad situation. For a warranty company, they're one of the best I've dealt with.

I used to be with another home service. We left them and came to American Home Shield. They tried to get us to come back. With AHS, everything has been positive. We've submitted claims several times. The most recent was for electric. Now it's up and running and everything's fine. The contractor took care of the problem we were having. There's just that one contractor you sent us that came for the refrigerator who didn't really know about that brand of refrigerator. That was unusual, because generally, everyone else you all sent out here have been wonderful and understanding. But they took care of it, and both me and my wife were very pleased with the service and everything you all have done for us.

We had our oven fixed with the past visit. It was a snowy day and we were not sure the repairman was going to make it because of the storm. Thankfully he called to say he would arrive soon. We were very thankful he was able to make it! Our oven was fixed and we were able to cook again! Thank you, American Home Shield!

My experience with American Home Shield has been very good. It's been excellent. I can't say enough good things about them.

We've been with American Home Shield for years. We made a claim for one appliance. Our interaction with the contractor was good and bad. The contractor came in. We had two complaints: one of them was the dishwasher and the other one was our stove. The contractor came in on the dishwasher and told us that there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher, that we needed hotter water, and we needed less soap. We've tried that and it’s not working the way it should still. He didn't seem to understand how to fix it. He said there was nothing wrong with it, yet it won’t clean the dishes properly.

First experience submitting a claim when I had a problem with heating was fantastic. It was easy. I did it all online, on the website, and that same day I got a call from the contractor, and he came out. He was great. It was a very icy cold day. There was ice all over the road. I couldn't believe they came out the same day. But he came out, and within an hour, everything was running well. Since then performance of the unit has improved. Our electricity bill went down. Evidently it'd been going bad for a while. I'm gonna be staying with AHS for a while, for as long as we own the house.

I am satisfied. They responded in proper time. The contractor that they sent out was more than capable, friendly, clean, neat, and punctual. And I would say the same about American Home Shield, too. I can’t really think of anything to complain about other than they’re not free.

I made a claim for a dishwasher with American Home Shield. I called in because I was brand new and wasn't quite sure how to do it. I may have started it online but then I actually spoke to somebody. The rep was courteous and the contractor they sent was great. He came in, found the problem and fixed it. It was really nice and good. He got it going exactly right. It was very easy and they followed it through all the way to the end. I kept getting an update for the scheduling.

We had a plumbing issue. It hadn't started long before we contacted American Home Shield. We had the problem for about a day then we contacted them. They were very efficient. They had someone come out the very next day, and it was repaired. The contractor did very well. We have no complaints about anything from start to finish. I am very pleased. I highly recommend American Home Shield. They're an excellent company, and we have no concerns with anything, at least not yet.

American Home Shield did a great job. The most wonderful thing that they did that really surprised me is the person that came in didn’t just come and look for a small problem and fix it and be on their way, he actually looked over the whole thing and found out what actually was causing the problem, and that it was actually installed wrong. It didn’t cover it, but he still did the work. I had to pay for the installation of a piping above the hot water heater that went outside the roof. I know it was covered by the insurance, but he fixed it and I paid for it and did a great job. They made me happy.

American Home Shield is responsive as far timeliness and as far as adjusting to my need. I would recommend them.

I had to fight the last time to get some service. My refrigerator was out. It was completely out, everything was melted. AHS gave me the name of the company, and then the company called and said when they would be able to come. It wasn't reasonable, based on the problem. So I called AHS back again, and the girl was able to talk them in to coming out that day so I didn't have to wait 48 hours. I don't know why they weren't able to come prior to her having to call them back, but I was grateful that they finally came that day and solved the problem.

My claim with American Home Shield was handled adequately. The contractor got to me the very next day. My experience was satisfactory.

AHS is always responsive to our needs. We get a call back from the contractor within hours. All our repairs have been done by qualified technicians. It's one of the best decisions we've made about keeping our house well maintained.

Problem started around the 10th of April. I called it in and requested the necessary services. The repair people came out timely and I had no problems at all. Excellent. I would recommend them to a friend.

We noticed that water was leaking out, the hot water heater leaking out onto our floor a couple of months ago. We cut the water and contacted American Home Shield. American Home Shield took care of it. It went pretty smooth. It was easy as far as filing the claim and the contractor they sent did a great job. He was very nice and prepared. Would recommend AHS. They keep everything going, working... Pretty timely and no trouble.

We’ve had American Home Shield about 15 years and we’ve only had one problem. It was just a disagreement over a garage door opener. They wouldn’t fix it because they said the part that was out on it wasn’t an integral part of opening the garage door and we had a disagreement about that. I understand and it wasn’t something that I felt was worthy of canceling my service over. Other that one disagreement on coverage, I’ve never had a problem with them. They’ve always done what they said they would and I felt like they’ve gone above board to take care of whatever problem we’ve had come up over the years. It’s been fantastic. I’m very happy with them. And I have recommended them to everybody that I know that is looking for a home warranty service.

I've been with American Home Shield for about seven or eight years. They are very consistent, reliable and trustworthy. I've had a very, very positive experience and no hiccups.

We had a sump pump under the house and it was not working correctly. I submitted a claim for the plumbing and the experience was excellent. We did the call and the guy was here within two days. The people they sent were right on the ball and worked great. They took care of it and it's been good. We've used it twice and it worked out well. It was excellent. We have no complaints.

The refrigerator wasn't cooling and American Home Shield was responsive. The technician came on time, and he was very knowledgeable of the appliance, and it got the problem fixed. I was very pleased. They are true to their advertisement, and I was a little bit leery about it, but I heard other people recommend them. But they did what they said they would do, and I got what I paid for.

The quality of service is unmatched! I had an emergency and AHS understood that and had a service technician respond very quickly! Great job!

My most recent issue was on a pump on my pool and what led to it was the pump was leaking and noisy. I submitted the claim online with American Home Shield and it was very easy. The contractor was excellent. I’ve dealt with them before in the past on the pool and they’re extremely efficient and a great contractor for AHS to engage with. It’s a good experience.

American Home Shield is well worth the money. The entire experience of submitting a claim was very positive. Typically, they say they're going to be here on time; they're here on time, which is obviously very appreciated. I'm very pleased with the contractors they send. They have always been very courteous and efficient.

The heater quit working so I submitted a claim. The experience was good. The guy came out, was friendly, good, quick and explained everything that he did. My heater works fine now. Everybody that we've had so far for all the other time periods have been very, very good. They clean up after themselves. They also recommend other things that we might want to do to prevent any further problems.

Our downstairs not cooling, so had to replace a part which was not readily available; so contractor did temporary repair and came back to replace part the next day.

To this point, we're not having any major problems. Everything that we've ever asked American Home Shield for or had them do, they've taken care of it. We're very happy with them.

My experience with American Home Shield was fantastic! It started a couple of days before I put in the claim. I don't remember the exact date. A couple of days, I noticed that the dishes did not come out clean. So at first I thought I was over piling - putting too many dishes in, which I know how to do because I've been here a while. But then I thought I'm putting too much soap in or something's blocking it. I wasn't sure. So after washing the dishes over again over nine times, I realized that there was a problem with the machine.

I don't have any complaints about American Home Shield. The representatives seem to be friendly and knowledgeable and the contractors that I've had have been very good. They have been very professional and customer-oriented. I had recently submitted a claim for the plumbing and they corrected the problem. So, I'm okay. They've been pretty consistent with what they're offering.

The experience with American Home Shield has been good. I didn't really make any claims on it.

I've only used American Home Shield once to look at my dishwasher. I called them up and said the dishwasher was not running through quickly. The phone representative was great. They gave me the name of this guy who works with them. I called them up. He came over and I paid the $75 visitation fee. The contractor was a very nice man. He knew what he was doing. He helped me and it was done quickly. And it wasn't even a problem. It's a new machine, very complicated because it's got all this computer stuff and I wasn't using it right. So for 75 bucks, he gave me a lesson on how to use my dishwasher. It's working fine now. It was a good experience.

My son told me about the washing machine and it happened on a Sunday. When you don't have clothes to wash, you got to get it done. I immediately called to make an appointment with the AHS and it was a nice experience submitting a claim. I gave them the wrong number but they found the correct account number. They were very cordial. They were on time. When they say they're coming, they're coming. They'd call previously before they get here and it was within a half hour before they got here. I put him down on Angie's List and told him he's welcome to come back anytime. He's very nice, professional and very very understanding for the problems we had.

I've had American Home Shield for about 10 years or so. I recently submitted a claim for my plumbing. It was constant leaking in my daughter’s bathroom. She had put a towel there to stop the noise. I looked at it and thought I could fix it, but I couldn’t. I called American Home Shield and what concerned me was when I called and offered up the problem, the gal talked to me and said it wasn't covered on my policy. So, I got on the internet and pulled up my policy. It said that it was covered.

The technician was superb. Very friendly and explained everything. The components were covered by the warranty.

Contractor contacted me quickly and setup the appointment. They came out to fix my central heat. It look longer than expected, but they were friendly and provided me useful info.

AHS backs up what they know. Every time that I've needed any assistance, they've been very good about it.

We had a catastrophic failure of our water heater and it flooded our basement. Submitting the claim with American Home Shield went fine. It was just like every other problem I had. They took the claim and had a plumber come out. In this case we were not particularly happy with the plumber that was sent out and we opted instead to have our own plumber do the work and have American Home Shield reimburse us. We have a completely new water heater and it's working just fine. American Home Shield itself was fine. I have no complaints on the claim submission process but I have had mixed reactions to some of the contractors they have arrangements with.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and it was good. They responded quickly. The repair was done in a timely manner and everything seemed to be working fine.

American Home Shield was really nice, but they suggested that we rip out the wall and replace the plumbing in our bath and shower. Of course, we were going to have to pay for replacing the wall, and they would pay for the plumber. I thought that didn't sound right because the plumbing and the hot water just quit. It wasn't a slow deterioration.

I submitted a claim for the heater with American Home Shield online as the heater wasn't blowing hot air and they sent an electrician. Submitting the claim online was a hassle. It's a drop down menu where you pick what your issue is. It's confusing because there's AC and heat... It goes between an electric and heat pump and I didn't know what kind of system I had. They only give you so many options. That's how I ended up with an electrician here instead of a heating and air person. Even after I told the electrician that first came what the issue was, he said it probably wasn't electrical but he looked over all the electrical equipment anyway and he sent the referral out for the right guy. It works perfectly now. It was a good experience.

We have had American Home Shield ever since we bought our current home. It was provided to us by the sellers and we have maintained it ever since then. We've always been pleased with the people that have shown up and it didn't matter what the repair was. We've just always had good people... but there's always room for improvement.

A very prompt response to a leakage problem with a washing machine. It is an older washer so I was not sure if I would need to replace it. The technician quickly found it to be a minor problem, fixed that and reviewed the machine in general for any other issues. He said that they don't make them this sturdy anymore so try and hang on to it if possible.

Overall, American Home Shield has been fine. They had to come out this last time three different times. I had been trying to call them back, and it wasn't real pleasant. But it's all fixed now. I would recommend them. It wasn't an unpleasant experience.

A/C Repair - All my experiences with American Home Shield with two homes I own have been very positive.

Our washer just started making a really loud noise so we filed a claim the next day. I submitted my claim online. It was easy. And then I got the confirmation email saying that they set us up with Sears and then one of the guys came out from Sears and fixed it. They had the parts with them for both things that was wrong with the washer so that was nice not having to wait for anything. It's working fine now. It's been great a great experience and I haven't had any issues.

There was a confusion in my most recent claim -- it dealt with the septic tank. One came out and it was the air conditioning company but there was also the plumbing... But when I called, I had said the house was stopped and the septic tank was filled up and the pump on that had to be fixed. So then the first one that came out said he couldn't handle that and he called American Home Shield and talked to someone there. They found somebody that would come and pump our septic tank out and everything was done in a timely manner. So I'm highly satisfied. It's working fine now.

I've used American Home Shield several times and I've been happy each time I've used them. My most recent claim was submitted for a spa. I had a problem with my spa, both the spa itself and also the pump. The contractor they sent was great. It was handled properly.

I had a hot water heater that needed to be replaced. The water went from hot to cold and wouldn't get hot anymore. So I went online and submitted a claim. I made the claim on a Wednesday but the contractor didn't hit me back within two days or so. So I went on and called them and then they made an appointment for much much later the following week. I let them know I had a small child here, of course we were without hot water, if there was any way that they could try to schedule a little bit sooner, which they did. They came on a Monday morning and he was able to come back on the following day and make the repair. So everything worked out with that. The only thing that was wrong with this experience was that the contractor never called. I've been with American Home Shield for three years now and I've only had to use them once before and that was a better experience. I'd still recommend them though -- I don't fault them for the contractor not doing their part initially to get back with me and other than that the service has been stellar.

I've had American Home Shield for about seven years. My recent claim to them is for a spa. There was a problem with the motor on the pool itself which is also connected to the spa. It happened about three or four weeks ago and I was finally able to get to call American Home Shield and they sent someone else out to fix it and they fixed it.

American Home Shield has resolved my complaint. They sent a new contractor who physically removed our air conditioning unit, took to their store, and reinstalled it After 4 months, our air conditioning unit now works. We did not pay additional out of pocket fees, issue went on too long. I feel they only resolved the issue because I complained to an outside company. I would have liked them to resolve the issue because of the 8 year continuous, harmonious relationship.

My garbage disposal wouldn't work at all so I filed a claim with American Home Shield. Of course, it turned out to be something very simple. We could have fixed it if we knew how to do it. But the contractor fixed it in just a couple of minutes and showed me what he did. He showed me how we could check it next time if it did it again. It was a very favorable experience. We have no complaints at all. AHS contractors are always polite and professional.

My most recent claim was for an issue with my air conditioning. Originally, there's been a couple issues with it. The initial issue was in February and it turned out to be the compressor was shorted to ground. The compressor outside, the part of the AC unit, needed to be replaced. It was taken care of and everything was fine. About little as 60 days later, I noticed that it wasn't working correctly. I wasn't sure what the problem was, I didn't know whether it was cooling enough or what, so I put in another service request and they sent out a circuit contractor. He came out and kind of looked at it and found out that the freon has gone out of the compressor.

American Home Shield quickly assigns contractors to assess appliance problems and accurately complete repairs.

American Home Shield was wonderful the last time I submitted a claim. I'd recommend having them.

This year was a bad year appliance wise. My oven went out the day before Thanksgiving, then my washing machine, dishwasher and then the hot water tank. AHS was quick and got the items/problem resolved. They had professional come to the home that provided outstanding customer service. Two of these items the most expensive, the hot water tank and washing machine, had to be replace and could not be repaid. AHS did what they said. I paid my deductible and now I have a new tank and washing machine that are more efficient than my old one. The oven was a double oven that the motherboard burned out twice. They fixed it for the deductible only. I would recommend anyone to get AHS the deluxe package at the costs premium. It is well worth the money.

I've been with American Home Shield several years. I had a glass top on my GE stove, and the glass top got a crack in it. I don't know how the crack was made, but I called them and set up an appointment and they were here within three days. They looked at it, ordered for the part, and a week or so later they came and installed the part. There were just five people. They were very professional and they were respectful. They came in and put cloth covers on their shoes and didn't track up or anything; wherever they fixed. They took the stuff with them. It was a very good experience.

My experience with American Home Shield went very very well. I was very pleased with the outcome.

I called because my water heater is leaking. They advised me to shut it off along with the water to my home. I advised them there was a 5 day old baby in the home and they said it was not an emergency. They have no compassion and they suck.

My most recent claim submitted to American Home Shield was for plumbing. My experience with them was very good. The gentleman came in, looked over the situation, and made the necessary repairs without any problem whatsoever. The timing was great. I called that day, and within hours, the service was rendered, and it was excellent. It's not leaking anymore. The tank of the toilet was leaking, and he repaired that. There's quite a bit of difference. Overall, the service was excellent! Everything is excellent! I have no complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend them.

My air conditioner stopped blowing cold air one Friday night. It was running, everything was good but wasn't blowing cold air. I couldn't get online for some reason so I believe I called it in the next day. It might have even been that Friday night. I'm not sure. I filed a claim and then she was very nice about it. She told me the contractor and that they would contact me. I understand it was weekend and they contacted me on Monday to set my schedule. They came out on Tuesday on time. A very courteous and nice gentleman came over and looked at everything. Looked for leaks but couldn't find any and my freon was all gone. So he had to charge up the freon and it works great now. I never had any problems so far with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield is fantastic! No issues, no problems. When I had some work that needed be done, I entered my request on the computer. Within 20 minutes, I got a phone call from a local contractor, and that they would be here the following morning. They showed up when they said they would, and took care of my problem. My most recent experience the contractor was timely, responsive, informative, clean and very detailed in his explanation of my problem. When I initiated the ticket via AHS online, the contract company called the next day and sent the technician within the week.

The oven stopped working. You would set it to turn on and it would not turn on. It would look like it was all set to go, but nothing would happen so I called American Home Shield. The contractor was good. He knew immediately what it was, and ordered the part and came back and put it in. It's working fine now. Sometimes a claim goes well, and sometimes it doesn't. There are times when you need someone to come to the house faster than they can send one of their contractors, and there are times when, over the years, I've had disagreements with them as to whether something should be covered or not. But they are doing better now.

We've had American Home Shield for many years. They're nice people to work with. The contractors they've sent out were always courteous and professional. Maybe once to twice, we might have had some complaint, but no big problems whatsoever. We recently put in a claim for the heating. It was a fine experience. The heat strips were not heating up and the contractor had to replace the heat strips. The guy was really, really nice. I was really impressed with him. He knew what he was doing and just made you feel comfortable to have him there and let him fix everything.

It's very comforting to be able to call one phone number to know that qualified contractors will be provided on a priority basis to repair my broken or malfunctioning household items, especially heating and cooling and kitchen items like refrigerators and stoves. I live in an older house with aging appliances and two heat pump AC/heaters. AHS has provided excellent maintenance on the HVAC units and recently made discounts available for replacement of the aging units.

American Home Shield is a necessary purchase. I recently submitted a claim for the heating and had an excellent experience. The contractors they sent were all great. After the repair, my bill dropped about $50 and that's awesome especially in the winter.

It was a fast and simple process to submit the claim for the plumbing with American Home Shield. The hardest part was when we try to get on to the web to get to their website and maneuvering through that. But the overall experience with the people coming in to do the repairs was pretty good. We had a clog in our kitchen sink drain, but it was so far down the drain that the contractor had to put a 50 foot snake into the drain and that helped it. It's working better and we haven't had a clog yet.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was for the garage door. There weren't any problems in submitting the claim. I called and the company got in touch with me. Then they came and he saw what the problem was. He had to get the part, came and solved it properly. They do what they're supposed to do. If it's covered, they make sure you're taken care of. Most of the contractors were courteous and professional. There was one that wasn't and I was able to ask them to send somebody else. I'm a very big supporter of American Home Shield that we're doing business with. We've had several things that popped up. Our furnace had quit working and they sent somebody out right away because we had about a year and a half toddler and it was five degrees out so the house was getting down around 50. Filing claims to American Home Shield was pretty good but the last one I did was not good and I'm not happy about it. My last claim, I called for a leak and I told the person I talked to that my sidewalk outside was all wet. The problem was outside my house. I talked to two different persons and they never told me that it was not part of my insurance. They sent somebody to look at it but it was outside so now they want me to pay the $75 but I don't wanna pay it. I'm not gonna pay it because both persons I talked to never tell me that it was not included in my insurance. I know it's written down on my contract but when it's an emergency you don't look at all the fine line. That's the thing that I'm not happy about but everything else for my heater was perfect and I had another one for my air conditioning last year and everything went well. They fixed everything and I paid the $75 without any problem.

I've got my house and rental property all covered with American Home Shield. I've used them multiple times. When submitting claims online, sometimes it doesn't let me leave as much information as I sometimes need to especially when I'm using my rental properties and I need to leave my number to get in touch with a tenant. In those cases, I have to use the phone and sometimes it’s difficult to get a hold of them. But when it's my own home and I'm gonna meet the person, it's very easy online. AHS reps and contractors are always pretty good. After they fixed the problem, the appliance runs just like new. One guy came and did the microwave. He knew exactly what he was doing. He had a pretty good idea what the problem was gonna be. He was in and out of here quick.

We live in a two story condo. A leak appeared in the ceiling downstairs two days ago so we were forced to shut all running water. Plumber arrived said we would have to get a contractor to remove all the downstairs ceiling popcorn before he could tear into it to fix. This would have cost me Thousands. I called a local plumber. Within 30 minutes he determined the problem was a Possy temp cartridge in the upstairs shower Knob. Cost 150.00. 14 years of disappointing service with AHS.

So far, the contractors AHS has sent out were good. Last one who came up fixed our problem with the plumbing.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was for the heater that went out on me. I did not quite understand what my problem was and I need to try and get some clarification before the other one renews and before it expires. I don't understand why I have to pay some 700 plus dollars for the water heater when the first time my heater went out in 2002, I did not have to pay anything. They say I had to pay for the inspection for this new water heater. But since then I have spoken to another person who said they were paying $125 and their water heater went out and they did not need to pay anything. I didn't know why his fee for the contractor coming out was $125 and mine was $75. But at the same time, because he paid $125 when they had to call them, he did not have to pay anything.

I've had several claims with American Home Shield. I recently submitted a claim for the heating and ended up having my whole thing replaced. They paid me for a pay out because they were only going to replace the compressor and keep it running. If I wanted to complain about that, I could, but it just isn't worth it because the unit is old and it needed to be replaced. That's just the fact of this situation. They did what they said. They were more than willing to order the compressor part and keep it going. And that's all they really committed to do. Dealing with American Home warranty employees is always outstanding. The representatives are fantastic. The response is immediate and I'm really impressed. They hear what you say and they respond immediately. You get a call back right away or they don't drop it. They continue to follow-up until you're satisfied.

The timeliness of appointment was great. Next day service. The contractor was very friendly and professional. He had the parts we needed and was done in 15 minutes. Customer service was a breeze.

It was a small leak that was discovered in my crawl space during an inspection to sell my home. Submitting the claim to American Home Shield was very easy and straightforward. I did it by phone, and they came to the home. I didn't look at the leak as well as a slow-running supply line, but they fixed them both. As a first time home buyer in Texas, I was unaware of home warranties. Having it the first year saved me a lot of time, money, and headaches. Scheduling a repair or maintenance has been simple and all contractors have been excellent to work with. I am glad I got and still have the warranty.

Usually, they call the same day if not the day after and they usually have appointments pretty soon. They're always professional, very effective and have fast response. Filing a claim to American Home Shield is a lot smoother than with our previous company last year. It wasn't like AHS at all. We had someone come out right away and they were a reliable contractor. The contractors were absolutely professional and courteous. The processing, other than falling over a weekend was kind of stunk, but other than that it seems like it ran pretty smoothly and there wasn't any issues. The appliance is definitely better and has more upgraded features. AHS people were just super helpful and they called me back right away. It was the same lady. Every time I talked to her, she was definitely helpful and she kept me on the phone and called the delivery company for me to make sure they were able to do the stuff that we needed to have them bring it to the house. She definitely went above and beyond for that.

American Home Shield keep their word. Usually when you get a warranty product, when it's time to cash in on it, they'd find every reason not to hold their end of it. I've had that experience before but not with Home Shield. It was a very good experience submitting a claim to them and very easy. The contractors were fine, very professional and courteous. They were timely and very accurate with the time they said they would be here.

I recently filed a claim online with American Home Shield for a hot water heater issue. The one I had just stopped so I had to get it replaced. The process was easy and I was able to contact someone, so no issues there. They did a great job in working with me. However, the contractor they sent out was horrible. He wanted me to pay in addition to what American Home Shield was going to pay. He told me the total job would be about $1400, but I got somebody that would do it for $800. AHS did a great job in working with me.

The contractors we have used for most of our service calls have been for appliances. Sears is the main source. Every single one of them have been prompt, courteous, and experienced. They are professional in appearance and manner. We are completely satisfied with that contractor.

The plumbers were great, came out, look at the water heater, found it was not working anymore and got it replaced. It was a fast and easy process. The new water heater started to leak. Called the plumber. They told me to call AHS and have a recall put in, and within 20 minuets AHS had them back at my door to fix the leak. I like this service a lot, and it makes life better knowing that I don't have to worry about something breaking at a bad time money wise. Thanks, AHS!

I had put in a claim for the heating recently. The rep that came out was very knowledgeable and explained things to us. The contractors sent out by American Home Shield were very good. We have no complaints at all. It was easy to set up and went off without a hitch. Very good service.

American Home Shield is very responsive as far as their phone calls are concerned and their ability to get somebody here pretty quickly. But I'm not terribly excited about the quality of some of the people they send out.

We had a problem with our plumbing. The hot water heater was out. And then our heater was not working. American Home Shield had to put a new part in it so we could get some heat. I call when I need to submit a claim. I don't notify them on the computer because it takes a while to hear back and I'm always in a hurry. When I call, they're very pleasant and they tell me that someone will call me within such and such a time. And they tell me who it is that will be calling.

The experience with American Home Shield was fine. They fixed my washer. The man came and was able to figure out what it was even though it's an old machine that is 13 years old. He fixed it, he left and I was able to do wash. Everything is working.

Submitting claims to American Home Shield plays smooth. My recent claim is probably their wackiest one. The first company that I was assigned to didn't call me after they got the request so I had to call them and then they said they couldn't come for a couple of days. It was my heat and it was cold so I called back and the person who answered was gracious enough to assign me to a different contractor. They got someone out that same day. The young man was wonderful. He explained everything that he was doing. He was very respectful and very professional.

I usually go online to submit my claims with American Home Shield and I get an immediate response. I get an immediate name of a contractor and the contractor always calls me in a very, very timely fashion. So I'm a very, very satisfied customer. I've been a customer of theirs for many, many years. The contractors they send have all been for the most part excellent and very sharp. They're technically proficient, courteous and on time. It's probably the best deal for a homeowner imaginable at this point. It just takes the quandary out of things. I don't have to worry about who do I call and are they any good. They're already pretty screened. The people we've had here, I would hire in a minute.

I've had American Home Shield for several years. The most recent claim I submitted was for my dryer, it messed up. Submitting my claim went very easily. I called it in, that way I get to talk directly to a person in case I messed something up, and everything went fine. The interactions with the contractor went well too. He was very knowledgeable, checked it out and had to order the parts. I had to wait a couple of weeks for the parts but other than that, I had no problem.

Consolidated Mechanical replaced the fan blower in my a/c unit. They were timely and explained everything to me in terms I could understand.

American Home Shield is covered on our new home. I've had only one call when I had to use them and everything was fine. Every time I had to have them for my house that I was renting, they always seemed to find people that were adequate to do the job. The last time I had to have a plumber, I had to go through a couple of them. They're a good service and so far, I'm happy with the price and hopefully I'm paying for not too many services.

We've had American Home Shield for a number of years already. Our recent claim was for an electrical problem. They sent a man here but they didn't have a toner because there was something that was not working so they couldn't use that. The other guy that came here didn't have a toner either. They ran a current through a line to see where the problem was and none of them had it. They would have to tear up the walls to find it and we don't want that to happen. At the beginning, the service was pretty good and now it seems like it's more restricted. But they did some services that we were pretty happy with.

I have nothing but good things to say about AHS. The service tech was timely courteous and they even called prior to verify the appointment. We had to wait 2 days for part order but it was fixed and they called a few days later to make sure there were no problems. Thank you AHS.

After they repaired it, it’s a lot better for it wasn't working at all before. However this latest claim I had to call and talk to AHS reps a couple of times but they were all very friendly and helpful. Based on my overall experience I would recommend them. It was easy, pleasant and complete from start to finish. It’s pretty quick and the work that needed to be done was done and done well.

The agents have always been very friendly and helpful. The response is quick and fair. If the person they sent out has a late response you call the agent back and they quickly set up another contractor. Thanks!

Submitting a claim to American Home Shield is a piece of cake. They call you back and say, “Hey, so and so is going to happen…” It works great. I love it. My recent one was for our A/C. You put it on the computer. The contractor they sent was Air Doctor. I've never encountered them before but they are fabulous. They come clean in a nice uniform with their name on it and a company truck and do their work and don’t track in. It’s awesome! It was just real pleasant. They were very clear and succinct in explaining what happened and what was going on. They are wonderful people. The A/C wasn't working and now it’s perfect. The whole experience was very professionally handled, very pleasant and prompt. They came in the same day so it was great.

Basically, I've been satisfied with American Home Shield. I have no major complaints.

I've had American Home Shield for quite a few years. I recently submitted a claim for a plumbing problem. What happened was about 6 months before they came, I had another plumber come and fix the bathroom downstairs. But when I flushed it, I had to hold it to complete the cycle. So I was having problems with that and sometimes I have company and they flush and it didn't flush the whole thing. I called again and they sent another plumber. This guy came in, he saw the problem and he fixed it. He did everything perfect. Everything is going great right now. Not a problem.

We got American Home Shield when we bought the house and we renewed primarily just because we wanted the protection. But also, we've had a very good customer service experience. Every time we filed a claim, the response had been pretty much immediate, whether I've done it online or on the phone. And everyone I've spoken to has been very accommodating. There's also a lot of transparency about what is and is not covered. We've had a really positive experience. We've had a few claims and they've all been kind of handled promptly. Now, in some cases, we've had to pay for it ourselves, but they were pretty clear about kind of why something was or was not covered so we've been very satisfied.
